LD32 — An Unconventional Weapon

BED✰HOGG by 01010111 2015-04-24T01:05:00

Very fun, polished, and fast paced! Awesome. I wish I had a friend next to me to play this with.

Miroir du Mort by graebor 2015-04-24T00:53:00

Phenomenal! The game is super polished and well designed. Fast paced too! One possible minor complaint is that there doesn't really seem to be a reason for carrying over the current health of the player to the next level, since there are no lives and such. I personally think it would be better to just reset the life after each level. That's a minor point though, amazing job!

DAGDROM by Ditto 2015-04-25T00:04:00

I got that little "thirst of the curious few" message, and I felt special for a little bit. Great game! The controls could use a little itty bit of modification, but over all it is a nice polished experience. I also enjoyed the walking sound very much.

TRANSMATTER WHIRLMPOLE VACUUMBUSTER by CogentInvalid 2015-04-25T00:48:00

That was pretty fun! I got a score of 166. Gameplay is solid, however, I didn't really find a good reason to pull, I only kept pushing off. Still, nice and fast paced. Well done!

Beautiful Chaos by xplicitone 2015-04-25T01:02:00

Great job for picking up Unity for the first time! Keep going, never stop! You'll only get better and better.

Sam On Tape by fluidvolt 2015-04-25T04:41:00

While the gameplay lacked a little, your music was GREAT. Very awesome job. The graphics were also a bit minimalist but they worked nicely with this game. So good work!

Break A Leg by jcsirron 2015-04-22T00:53:00

The gameplay is a neat concept and overall interesting, but it is not very intuitive. However, the graphics were nice. Having the curtain rise and fall was a nice detail.

TeleFrag by HellBlazer 2015-04-22T19:38:00

Nice little game! It was pretty fun. The teleporting mechanic felt very fleshed out and complete. The movement is a little slippery, but overall, the experience was enjoyable.

Genemon by Pietro Ferrantelli 2015-04-23T00:53:00

That was awesome! Very fun that I had to play it again after beating it. One thing that I wish the game had was some hotkeys. that way I didn't have to move the mouse all the way below the playing area to select a different genemon. Other than that, awesome job!

T.U.W.O.M.D. by danidre14 2015-04-22T05:06:00

The music is not actually bad. It was fine. Don't sell yourself short! Keep up the good work!

Mass-X by hexagore 2015-04-24T23:52:00

I tried both the HTML5 and the windows version and I had problems with the mouse pointing to the correct place at the beginning. at a certain point it suddenly became controllable, I don't know how or why. In any case, besides that, the game was great! Good job.

Bits and Pieces by tigerbyte 2015-04-22T01:00:00

Very cool. The concept was simple but good. Gameplay was fun, however, I think I could have used some visual feedback on when I was close enough to junk to pick it up. Nice work!

Decrepit Lord of Charge by HolyBlackCat 2015-04-24T00:38:00

Spectacular mechanic. Very unique. It is simple to understand but can produce many complicated puzzles. I am also a fan of the music. Very minimal, but it sets the mood really well. Nice job!

Flail Rider by jushii 2015-04-22T04:45:00

All this destruction is incredibly satisfying. A+

Dye by solarexplorer 2015-04-25T00:42:00

This is different from most entries, but that's not a bad thing. Thank you for the experience. :)

The Grape Escape: Banana Shadow by tweedle 2015-04-22T19:28:00

The polish in this game is phenomenal. Visually pleasing, and the music is very fitting. Nice work!

The March of Melons by BoyWithStick 2015-04-22T01:52:00

Very nice job on your first LD! I hope you come back for another one. You might have run out of time and there's not too much to do in the game, but your time in Blender and Photoshop payed off: The visuals and animations are stellar. They are very smooth. Great job!

Hug Cult by EwChap 2015-04-22T04:56:00

The gameplay was simple, but those sounds put me in such a happy mood. Nice job!

BeatBopper by Sean 2015-04-22T00:44:00

The game felt a little buggy or incomplete, which corresponds with your disclaimer, I guess. However, the concept is interesting, and the visuals were great!

Starbinder by HunterAugust 2015-04-22T23:35:00

Very polished, visuals and sounds really gave it a great mood. It was a bit difficult figuring out what I was doing. I am not sure if that is a bad thing or not. I was confused but experimentation felt like part of the game.

Color Backfire by Kostyan1996 2015-04-22T20:00:00

The reflecting bullets mechanic is pretty cool. The color mechanic is very interesting and I think it hold potential. However, as it stands, it is very unforgiving. I had a hard time getting past the level with multiple colors. Still, I think you're on to something! Good work!

Aqua Marine by Bashabookoos 2015-04-22T19:48:00

The underwater platforming (if you can call it that) is very refreshing. The game has a very unique feel because of it. So great job on that.

Radisheriff by Ourson 2015-04-22T00:38:00

That was pretty fun! It is a very complete game. The reloading mechanic, and the items were awesome. And I think the rooms are randomly generated, but I am not sure. In any case, if the rooms are randomly generated but the player doesn't realize it, that is some solid generation. So well done!

HK-21 by stevenlr 2015-04-22T20:14:00

Nice job! The game feels very complete. Although the pushing and pulling weapons were a tiny bit buggy at some few parts, they were fun to play with. Props to you for also giving the game a story. It was small and simple, but it actually made me care about my final decision at the end.

Weight Lifter 2000 by Leon75 2015-04-22T03:52:00

I collected all the vegetables at the end, they were delicious. The movement is a bit slippery, but the game felt very complete and fun.

LIGHT by MSiddeek 2015-04-24T00:28:00

Phenomenal gameplay! Puzzles were very well designed. Near the end of the game, things got laggier and laggier, and sound was really crackly. You might have a bug somewhere that is lagging things, maybe. But beyond that, great work!

TypeFighter by Sheepolution 2015-04-25T00:11:00

My strategy was typing out lyrics of songs I knew. It worked pretty well, but didn't get past the cafeteria. It's a neat game! I am not sure about not resetting the words you can use after *losing a life*, but I can see why that decision was made.

Rhythm Gunner by DDRKirby(ISQ) 2015-04-24T01:01:00

This is awesome! I can jam to this sound! I'm not very good at the game, its hard to get into the rhythm and platform around at the same time for me. But it was very fun. You might consider jamming the player's weapon a tiny bit for missing a beat, or put some other sort of penalty for missing a beat, since you could theoretically just spam key and still fire on the beats. However, that was a minor critique, this is awesome!

LD42 — Running out of space

Box Co.® - Monster Storage by Tyler Funk 2018-08-14T06:12:03Z

Difficulty was a little tame. Maybe if there were only so many boxes that could get destroyed per level would up the challenge? All in all, very neat game. I had fun playing it all the way though. I love how this is all set on the moon(?), but it's not explicitly said. It could have taken place anywhere, but it's in space. That's a neat detail.

Crate Job Simulator by hadesfury 2018-08-14T02:57:58Z

Very good use of the theme. Gets quite hectic near the end! Well done, thank you for the game.

Happy Space by ThatRumme 2018-08-13T20:25:45Z

I think the smiles from all the planets are contagious! Loved how personal this game felt, with all the hand drawn looking objects and voice recorded sound effects. Played it all the way though. Nice job!

Urban Planning by reuno 2018-08-14T02:13:22Z

Sometimes it felt like damage wasn't being registered on the blobs, and the cursor often got lost in the screen. However, the game was great! It looks absolutely stunning, and in general plays well.

TINY TOWNS by BearishMushroom 2018-08-14T00:35:46Z

This was to fun that I just had to play it to the end! The puzzles and the pieces required to solve them seem to be very elegantly designed. Great use of the theme, and great way of showing that sometimes less is more.

Beat These Games! by gamesplusjames 2018-08-14T02:25:47Z

Fun game! I appreciate how the music sped up with the games. It upped the pressure and made things nice and hectic. I start with 20 games, lowered it to 12, but then the games sped up so fast that I couldn't get lower than that!

Sauber by gagapete 2018-08-13T20:14:40Z

Pretty fun! I loved the main menu. It really set the stage very nicely, and I found the arrows pointing to trees and satellites to be a nice touch.

The Screen Saver by SvartTand 2018-08-21T05:24:16Z

The screen resizing is very cool and works nearly flawlessly. The only problem is that the keys I am already holding down reset, which makes it difficult to recover from losing health. The difficulty was just right. I lost 2 times before finally winning on my third attempt.

By far the thing I love the most is the delay when shooting. I don't care what anyone else says, this is not a flaw, this is a feature. The delay forces you to choose between shooting or dodging, and you got to be precise. The delay also makes the consequent shot feel just ever more powerful too. It feels good to take your shot and hit a zombie dead on. So super good job!

GRAVEDIGGER - A final stand by Lavinski 2018-08-15T03:54:57Z

The concept of treating the game space as your health is cool and novel concept. Good creativity, and well done in making a robust and solid game.

Break by starhacker 2018-08-15T02:05:22Z

It is very difficult, but the concept is very cool and unique! Very neat twist on the theme. Good work!

Commander, We Have a Problem! by Lamossus 2018-08-21T05:48:02Z

There is a surprising amount of depth to this game! One problem with this is that it can be a little bit difficult to fully grasp initially. However, I do like how instead of all building being the same shape like in other "city"-building games, this one has varying shapes, which means you got to be clever about how you maximize your space. Good design choice!

Bouncy - A Bouncing Ball Game by ItPlay 2018-08-15T04:20:25Z

The graphics are quite minimalist but work really well. I also like how the game suddenly ends and the music blasts. It feels just right.

ShortServe by G4MR 2018-08-16T05:13:12Z

Simple but effective! It was a good challenge! I was looking for some food items for a long time, but they never appeared (or maybe I missed them!). Do you just use a standard random number generator to put out random food items? Have you ever considered using a [shuffle bag](https://gamedevelopment.tutsplus.com/tutorials/shuffle-bags-making-random-feel-more-random--gamedev-1249)? With it, you can ensure that every item appears at least once. So maybe you won't wait for that one item in vain. Although take this with a grain of salt. Maybe it doesn't work well for this game! Anyway, good work, I had a lot of fun playing this.

Running Out of Space by Danny Sun 2018-08-13T20:01:08Z

Fun game! I liked the variety of meteors and collecting them all to unlock that special thing. I does seem like you could play this forever though, as the difficulty doesn't seem to ramp up much. Regardless, keep up the good work!

Running Out of Space by Danny Sun 2018-08-13T20:01:10Z

Fun game! I liked the variety of meteors and collecting them all to unlock that special thing. I does seem like you could play this forever though, as the difficulty doesn't seem to ramp up much. Regardless, keep up the good work!

Herding Humans by MWB 2018-08-15T04:24:41Z

As others have said, controls are difficult. However, your executed on the theme well, and the game looks great! Good work.

Simple Space RTS by Storm626 2018-08-13T19:51:30Z

For your first game jam, this is very well made. I like the autonomy of the workers and the fog of war. There's also a good variety of units. The camera panning was a little difficult for me since my mouse would go beyond the game window, but in general, well done!

Step into the Void (Web) by Bilzc10 2018-08-14T03:01:29Z

I got to level 5. Anything past that was too much for my fingers. Good job making this game!

Leaving Room by LastLeaf 2018-08-21T06:12:21Z

Good twist on a classic puzzle. And an equally good use of the theme. The game is pretty simple and intuitive, but has good challenging depth. I liked how the music changed near the end.

RainForest by Tribbles 2018-08-21T05:12:04Z

Pretty fun game! I liked how the categories shifted around after each day; it kept me on my toes. I also think the word choices and their categorical associations were pretty spot on. There were hardly any words that felt ambiguous. I got to Day 9 before I was fired. Well done!

Little Bear Planet by gudval 2018-08-23T00:30:55Z

Hey, that was a solid, fun puzzle game. Everything is well put together. The only thing that I see could be improved is the turning controls. The defaults for the turning keys are a not conventional. Also, if I am facing up, and I want to face down, its a little frustrating that I have to press right/left before down. But like I said, the game is very fun, you should be proud!

Ruphel's Run-in with a Rambunctious Relic! by Nenekiri 2018-08-14T02:35:43Z

I like the twist on the theme. First game I try out with inventory problems! Well done.

Rigid Flame by Teo Miklethun 2018-08-21T05:38:10Z

Very solid game! I like how this isn't just like Tron where touching your own exhaust is deadly, but instead it is a solid wall you bounce off of. The controls are elegantly simple, and the game in general is very well put together. The music, graphics, and gameplay just fit so well together. Nice job!

Rigid Flame by Teo Miklethun 2018-08-21T05:38:50Z

Also my highest score was 43!

Void Incoming by Purrfexionator 2018-08-16T04:40:10Z

Good work! This was simple but effective. The mechanics were crisp and worked well. My favorite levels were those that didn't have a clear single-path to take. It made them into small puzzles you had to solve in order to get all the collectibles that would get past the shrinking walls. Well done!

LD46 — Keep it alive

Fifteen Minutes of Flame by Mark Smith 2020-04-23T05:34:02Z

That was really well made! I didn't quite survive, but I gave it my best. The mood is great, it's dark, claustrophobic, and I was really worried that there might be something scary out there in the dark. I wish there was some sound to go with the game. It would have really put me in the game to hear the dying crackling of the fire, lone steps in the ground, maybe an eerie sound in the dark. I also wish that when I crafted an item, that it would go directly into my inventory instead of having to manually pick it up and go back to the crafting UI to use it again. But all in all, I really enjoyed that. I want to see more of it!

Great name for a game, by the way.

Flowers for Johnny by goffmog 2020-04-24T02:09:25Z

You made a puzzle out of Conway's Game of Life, and that is super cool. Never seen something like it before. It's very difficult to wrap your head around the puzzles, but it's a really neat concept. The flower theme is nice and relaxing too.

RestoPlane by GlacierEclipse 2020-04-24T02:02:31Z

I like the little spin from a typical lunar lander game where you can thrust near the ground to get a little boost, but I am not sure how to properly take advantage of that. Also having to pick up things and delivering them to the mogmog is another improvement to the formula. Good job!

Feed Me by lexi 2020-04-21T06:10:16Z

It's a neat interactive I-Spy kind of game. I do wish there there were more than just three things to find. The pixel art was wonderful. A bit of a twist in the story at the end there. And what happened to Carole's husband??????

Keith's Flint & Steel by johnnysix 2020-04-22T06:52:59Z

The art and music are great. The fox was real pesky and I wish I could have been able to do something to scare him away. It's fast paced, which I like. A minor nuisance I had was that I had to line up just perfect to the side of a tree to hit it. But this game looks, sounds, and feels like a game. Good job!

Go With The Flow by Baby Dino Herd 2020-04-23T04:23:44Z

That was a pretty unique concept. It's a little difficult to use the blue ball to time your key presses I think. One thing that I really appreciated about this game is that you not only have to think about the current word you have to choose, but how that word will fit and rhyme with a future word choice. You needed to look at the whole stack of decisions up ahead, not just the one at hand. That was honestly a bit eye opening, and it made me appreciate freestyle rap a lot more. So thanks for that!

A lost fire by Barbiche 2020-04-22T18:32:16Z

I don't know what was supposed to happen when I brought over materials to the specified locations, and I wish I could look up a little. However, the environment was well made and the piano was actually really nice. Good work, keep it up!

"Covid Conundrum" Civil Policy Simulator by merrak 2020-04-23T04:07:38Z

This is actually pretty interesting to see as you fiddle with different parameters. Depending on your sources and numbers, I think this transcends the category of a "game", but rather an important tool that could be useful, if anything, to educate people out there.

I do have to rate you on something. The font as others have said, is difficult to read. But more importantly, I wish I could see the parameters and numbers behind the scenes displayed on the UI. Like maybe tell me the infection rate you're using, and how different policies might affect that number. Stuff like that. And perhaps also a quick access to references and sources that you're basing your simulation on.

It's a really interesting tool. I'd love for this go beyond Ludum Dare. Thanks for your hard work, great job!

Stay Away from my Eggplant by Aycan 2020-04-21T06:19:39Z

I successfully protected my eggplant! The game was solid and well rounded. I especially liked the idea of picking your poison as "loot" when deciding to make the enemies stronger or faster. I kind of want that idea to be explored further. Movement was a little rigid; sometimes it felt like I got stuck. In any case, you did a great job, well done!

Save The Dog! by MateusGauto 2020-04-21T04:08:49Z

I found all the items and the art is nice. I think they had just mopped the floors because the game felt pretty slippery. The zombies were pretty easy to avoid, I didn't really have to pay much attention to them. But keep up the good work! The dog is very cute!

Ballistica by SimonBeats 2020-04-24T18:52:03Z

That was fun, I had to beat it. The learning curve is a little steep. It found it difficult to manage all my turrets and keep aiming them at the correct places at first. There's also nothing that really explains what other objects you can purchase are. Eventually I started to assume that these were cannon fodder to keep the enemy from destroying my units.

But the game is fun, and it has a surprising amount of variety in terms of enemies. The text boxes between waves was also nice. the little beeps and boops as the text was written out was nice and satisfying. I also like that you incorporated a tutorial to the game rather than just dump a rules and controls explanation at the beginning. Great entry!

My Friend Phil by Conroy 2020-04-25T19:36:09Z

I was able to beat it! The game is well rounded in terms of music, animations, platforming, the whole lot. It _feels_ like a game.

Two notes: 1. The platforming is a little too slippery for my taste, and the wall jumping is very difficult. 2. I wish there was more to do with phil. The amount of time Phil can be out of water is huge, and I almost feel like I could ignore this mechanic and just move through the levels. I also liked the idea of being able to throw Phil, but aside from the very first time I did it, I didn't find a good reason to throw him ever again.

But again, the game is well rounded, and it's a solid entry. Good job!

A Fistful of Daisies by Norris Eldridge 2020-04-22T05:42:44Z

Ok, for the little amount of time you spent on this game, it's very well rounded and complete. The intro was slick. Especially when the title appear on queue with the music, that felt real cool. It's hectic, but it makes it feels more like an actual shootout. You also can't see very far, which makes it disorienting when enemies run in guns blazing. Again, I actually think it adds a good effect to the shootout feel. All in all, this is a strong entry, I just wished there was more. But that's a good problem to have. I got 19 bandits before I lost. Great job!

Friendly Fire by Diego Escalante 2020-04-23T14:08:04Z

@fryer Thank you for your input. You're the first person to mention using the kindling as a breadcrumb trail back to the ladder, and I am really happy about that. That was one of the reasons for being able to drop kindling without lighting it, but I didn't want to be explicit about it and see if anybody thought of doing that. :)

Friendly Fire by Diego Escalante 2020-04-23T21:34:12Z

@honey-pony Darn, you caught me with the progress bar. :) I was running out of time so I reused the torch bar in the UI, shrunk it down, and put it on top of the chests, so yeah the pixels are different sizes. I loved reading your critique, thank you for taking the time to write it.

Friendly Fire by Diego Escalante 2020-04-25T18:16:46Z

Thanks for coming back and writing those kind words, @very-dark-lord! I'm no musician, so I could only make a short jingle (it's only 16 seconds long!) and hoped that by making it dynamic by fading the different tracks in and out would give it enough staying power and not annoy players. Having said that, I do have a recording with all tracks together in one .wav file. And since it's all open source, you could download it and save it for later use without having to boot up the whole game. You can do that by going to [this page](https://github.com/diego-escalante/LD46/blob/master/Assets/Sounds/Music/All.wav), right-clicking the "Download" button and selecting "Save link as..." Enjoy!

Dad Day by mudlee 2020-04-20T06:53:21Z

Is this what it feels like to dad? I tried to keep juggle them in the corner, but babies have a way of wiggling their way out and slipping past. I like the humor, and it fits the theme well. My best score was 23 points!

Dashing Guard by Ratrat44 2020-04-20T07:19:26Z

That was SUPER fun. I really had to get through all 5 levels before moving on. The sound effects were a bit harsh on my ears, but the game was fun, and it was super satisfying to dash through a bunch of enemies. The pace is nice and fast. I love how time slows down as you prepare for a dash. I also like how you can use the rockets at the end against the tank itself. Really well done. You should be proud.

My Pet's Dungeon by N.O. Games 2020-04-22T07:19:46Z

That was very fun! It's nice to have a pet that does all the fighting for me, and I can just sit back and do some inventory and pet management. The game is well fleshed out. Giving your pet a name was a nice touch. I like the music. I wish there was a little bit more variety on the items, or the ability to toss out slime during dungeon crawling later in the game, as it filled up my inventory too quickly and I wanted to get other things instead. But this is a solid entry! Great work!

Friendly Fire by very dark lord 2020-04-21T19:37:11Z

Hello, other Friendly Fire game! You folks did really well! The visuals are wonderful, the music was good (Especially the Dancing Tree), there was good humor in the dialogue, the animations are smooth, and the platforming is solid. Even the minigame was a nice touch.

Perhaps my only critique is that the pace is a little slow, and some of the dialogue becomes unnecessary and obsolete after getting past an action. But beyond that, you lot made something very cool and you should be proud!

Lost Beneath by Honey Pony 2020-04-23T04:48:30Z

I can tell you put in a lot of effort into this, but I don't think I had the skill to get very far even though I wanted to see more. From what I played, I liked the animations, and the movement abilities are very well fleshed out. But they are quite technical, and confusing and difficult to pull off just right. The movement is also a bit slippery. You can use this momentum to your advantage as you try to pull of maneuvers, but I also ran into a lot of spikes. The mood was good. I felt like I was in a sewer or some dark humid place. It fits the rest of the game well. Great job on the entry! I just wish it was a little easier.

Grow! by alex457 2020-04-26T06:48:14Z

I like the game! The mood is nice; it's very calming and the music is very fitting for that. I enjoy the progression of the game and how you slowly get more abilities as you grow the plant. There's a lot of variety in the abilities, which is really nice.

Design wise, it seems very easy for a player to just get a greater income than spending and just skip days until they win. That is, you could expand your roots three spaces down at the start of the game and skip until you win. Although that might take quite a few days. So if the goal is to optimize and win with the fewest days possible, then maybe this is not so bad.

It's a very solid entry, I had fun playing this game! Great job!

Final Interrogation by Gamer Fates 2020-04-23T04:37:12Z

This is a nice change of pace from other games. For a game like this the writing is very important. On one hand, since the text is everything, there's a lot of typos and grammar mistakes that can be distracting as you are trying to read the information. On the other hand, the game was well-written in terms of what information you give to the players. I wasn't 100% sure who did it, but I got enough from the questioning to make the correct decision. So I think you struck a good line between holding back information and spilling everything out. So it wasn't too easy, but it also wasn't impossible if you focus on the details. Good job!

Dog Walk Danger by Patrick1 2020-04-24T18:59:02Z

I appreciate the 3d game and the humor of a cuboid dog. The idea is fun, and I had a good time playing through the first 3 levels, but that 4th level was very difficult and I don't feel like I had enough time. Good job though!

Ubergine by curleysam 2020-04-22T05:31:22Z

Look, I'm just saying, you could have had anything more believable than a gundog. It could have been dingus' brother. It could have been anything but a gundog. But you chose a gundog. And I think that's wonderful. More games need gundogs. I'm going to put the idea of a gundog in my pocket for later use.

Oh, the game? Yeah it was great! The animations were smooth, the art style worked, the music was an absolute bop, and that eggplant sure had faces that caused emotions in my brain. I don't have much to complain about. I wish there was more to play I guess, I feel like I was really getting into it by the time I beat it. But that's a good problem to have. Great job!

Keep the Party Alive! by rrsmtz 2020-04-20T19:07:09Z

I wasn't quite sure how the bars above the guests affected my overall Enthusiasm, but the rest of the design was clean and clear. Very easy game to pick up. Made it to the end just in time, enthusiasm was red and low but just pulled it off! My final score was 226. Good job!

Build with Haste by Fryer 2020-04-22T05:54:54Z

It's a neat and novel concept. You executed on it well, and it plays smoothly and as expected. It'd be nice to see this idea fleshed out more. I'd like to see more interesting obstacles and things that affect the movement of the ball. Great job!

Virtual Fish Tank by Jay Berlin 2020-04-23T05:46:05Z

Umm, I kind of love this. I want a full game of this that is in real time that I can just have on my computer. The bubbles and the pump hum is just such a soothing sound. It legitimately felt calming to just watch the fish and take care of them. I wish there was more content, like different fish to get or decorations to put in the tank, but that's a good problem for you to have. What a wonderful entry, you should be proud.

Prince of Al Harrah by dmarku 2020-04-22T18:47:11Z

I think the little drawings that teach you the rules are a little confusing. Or perhaps they tell you the objectives? Because I was a little confused on the last level because previously I had to burn all the trees but not on this one. However, the music was nice, the puzzles were a tad easy but well-put together and enjoyable to go through, and the animations are nice. The transition between levels was slick! Great job! I really enjoyed that.

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Escape the loop by Vivoubos 2020-10-08T05:04:32Z

Ok, every time I heard "Foor meeeEEEeeee!" when I picked up a key made me feel absolutely delightful. Love it. zizicaca. It was a pretty good maze design and I enjoyed figuring out how the portals work and how to use them to get to where I needed to go. In general the visuals could use a little work (it was all mostly gray maze) but I must admit the player's running animation was very smooth and pleasing. Also, I didn't get too much of a good look at the minotaur but that guy looked very cool.

WireTap by Dingbat 2020-10-18T03:56:42Z

Bravo! This is a wonderful entry. So polished, the game design is super good. The only thing I have to complain about is that relative to other sounds, the turrets are LOUD, so the first time they fire is pretty alarming. But that's _the_ only issue I can think of. If this idea was expanded on, I would pay money to play this on my phone. You should be very proud. Nicely done.

This Party Sucks by Yngvarr 2020-10-06T23:49:20Z

pretty creative idea to have a beanman running on a vinyl while scaring spiders. The game feels very well rounded and polished. Nothing to complain about except that sometimes spiders would drop down outside of the record so you couldn't scare them away. But you can always avoid them until they go away, so no big deal. My final score was 312 on 45 rpms!

C - O - I - I - L by Ace17 2020-10-09T04:20:33Z

This entry has Descent vibes (it's an old game). The camera is similar in that game because you are on a ship in outer space (i.e. there is no down). I didn't get any motion sickness or anything, but definitely disoriented. I only found the red X switch. After that I felt like I was going in circles and didn't find anything. I had to give up. :(

Still, this game has really BIG mood. You feel lost, claustrophobic, and honestly kind of scared. It's dark in there. I was worried I was going to come across something real scary. in that respect this game is really good. I dig the vibes it gave me. Well done!

The Toroidal Tower by nanolotl 2020-10-05T05:46:58Z

Holy moly what a great game. It was like a mini-metroidvania in a loop. Never seen something like it before. I got no complaints. Nice ending, I'm glad I was able to complete it. :)

Stuck in a while(true) by Neowedge 2020-10-08T05:28:18Z

I like the garbage collector theme! It marries well with the game mechanics and the visuals like the little log at the right really ties everything together. The game is very well rounded. Nothing to complain about.

Ribbon by 100th_Coin 2020-10-06T04:50:01Z

That was super cool! Never seen something quite like that before. I know 48 hours is not that much time and I know this is just a concept but I really wish I could have played it it more! I feel like this idea can be explored a lot more. Can't really think of any complaints. Even the controls are quick to get used to even though they sound tricky at first.

Nuclear Loop by Gorr 2020-10-05T05:55:11Z

I instinctively pressed E when I found the gun but I don't think I wanted to do that. :( I liked the puzzles, it felt very rewarding to figure them out without help. Good game, way to go!

Operation Rewind by lilkrit 2020-10-18T03:21:38Z

The main thing that could use improvement is the movement. It's very floaty and so fast it feels slippery. Hard to control and maneuver around the level. On a more positive note, the graphics are pretty dang good. The game looks really nice. Well done!

Are We There Yet? by JudgeZedd 2020-10-08T05:18:19Z

I made it to the beach with (only???) £7200 in repairs. Oh my. The game is really well rounded. The visuals, music, gameplay all fit together very well. And by far the best part was the voice acting and witty writing. Hands down this is what makes the game really shine. You don't really see much voice acting in Ludum Dare entries and I'm really glad this one has it. Grounded the game with a good short story and provided many chuckles along the way. Well done!

Alice by Michael Feldman 2020-10-05T04:13:50Z

Wonderful entry. This game is focused and the core mechanic is polished and deeply explored. Really well done!

A Day in the Life by Jimanzium 2020-10-09T04:31:09Z

I think this game is tell me I should get fired. Repetitive? Kind of draining? Maybe that's how the game wants me to feel. In that sense its pretty good on the mood category. The visuals were nice too. I did 2 loops and then decided to heck it all and steal from the counter. Whoops!

Temple of Heh by p0l4r 2020-10-06T05:49:55Z

They physics and the jumping was a little rough, I found myself getting stuck on walls and slopes a lot. I like the idea of the game though. I was surprised by how many different routes and secret ways you could take to the end of each loop, I just wished it was easier to navigate. My favorite part of this game is the mood it brings. It's mysterious and kind of eerie, and I like that a lot!

ReBeat by Alex Davies 2020-10-18T04:51:21Z

The UI polish and level transitions are some of my favorite things. :) The game idea is pretty unique. I wish I could pause or have a safe little space to play with the music/environment to plan things out before walking into spikes. But aside from that, the game is pretty well rounded and fun. Nice work!

RoboBlast by theforceluke 2020-10-07T00:27:54Z

That was fun, but yeah it was really tough! Last level really threw me in for a loop. Pretty well polished and I appreciate the announcer guy yelling go at me. It was a little demoralizing to jump back 2 or 3 levels back to back for making a quick chain of mistakes, but the levels are quick enough anyway. Well done, folks! Oh and I beat it in 14 deaths!

LoopyPong by Fenderbate 2020-10-09T04:39:25Z

That was surprisingly fun! I really enjoyed that. A good example of less is more. The mechanic of this game is pretty unique. I've never seen anything quite like it. The goal and controls were clear, and even the enemy's movements were clear and fair. This game is well rounded, and a complete package. Well done! I had fun. :)

Chronic Curse by Diego Escalante 2020-10-05T19:24:50Z

@eduardo-yukio those are completely fair criticisms, and frankly I agree with you. In my mind's eye I imagined the player having to interact with other things or dodge hazards in those cycles where they are just waiting, but I had to scope down some elements and level design - I barely completed the game by the deadline. Phew. Thanks for trying out the game!

Chronic Curse by Diego Escalante 2020-10-05T19:29:05Z

@dmitry-mozgin Indeed there's a level of depth that I was aiming for that I didn't quite get to due to time constraints. Particularly, most things in the game are not affected by the cycles; mostly it's just you. I envisioned more objects looping and switching between looping and not looping to make things more interesting. Oh well. Thanks for playing!

Chronic Curse by Diego Escalante 2020-10-08T06:43:49Z

@games-by-tom Thanks for the detailed review. I'm surprised you noticed the coyote time, you got a keen eye! :) And you're not the first person to mention Celeste to me. It's my favorite game of all time. I wasn't really going for a Celeste vibe but I can definitely see it now after people mentioned it. Your criticisms are valid. In particular I tried to show that everything purple does not loop while yellow objects do through the level design but I didn't have much time left in the jam to do it quite clearly. Oh well, maybe next time. Thanks for playing my game!

Chronic Curse by Diego Escalante 2020-10-19T23:14:58Z

@anchorlight I never even considered the idea of how dying while the cycle is broken could have been dangerous and caused you to permanently die. Dang, I think that's _such a good idea_! It would have been super interesting to explore. That's really good feedback. Thank you for playing!

Tower of Madness by Eduardo Yukio 2020-10-05T19:52:26Z

Wow that was difficult. I think I made it pretty far but I couldn't get past one of the last rooms. Celeste is my favorite game of all time. :) So this was a good challenge. Jumping off ledges was a little tricky; I sometimes missed my jump window and would just fall down instead. You had me paranoid about moving spikes after a while! Good job on your submission.

in Dreams you can't find clocks by OmarMoBadr 2020-10-06T05:30:03Z

Its a nice game that is story driven. I think there's something special about having a tambourine tower in space. Felt very random but also exactly like something a dream would have. That was a nice touch.

Ex Aeternum by John Gabriel 2020-10-08T05:36:27Z

I know you ran out of time, but I like the visuals. Not many puzzles of course but I feel like the foundations for some really interesting ones were there. Shame you fell victim to the limited time, but this entry still excels at mood and graphics! One tiny tidbit I did like is now I didn't actually have to point and click to change screens, just moved my cursor in the general direction and the camera would rotate. That was real nice.

L2020P by tpsy 2020-10-18T04:29:06Z

I once made a cheeky game where the only thing you can do is wait literally hundreds of days for a door to open in-game. My friends asked what was behind the door and I answered, "I don't know, it hasn't opened yet." I don't think they liked my game very much...

This is a similar concept. Nice to know there are other brilliant minds making masterpieces out there.

Infinimaze by KirKami 2020-10-18T03:28:03Z

I like the novelty of a maze that can be changed by you and others. It's actually very challenging to maneuver the maze just by itself, let alone while being chased by a dragon. So I didn't quite finish the game, but I had fun while I played.

Little TV Escape!!! by Keith Wang 2020-10-05T04:47:21Z

Took me a little bit to understand what's going on but afterwards I thought it was a cool idea. I wish there was more. Nice work! The transition effect was really cool.

ZBX 9800 by Jonathanfdr 2020-10-05T05:05:12Z

Love the art. How can you not fall in love with that little robot? The whole game was super fleshed out. Even the UIs were wonderful. ZBX walks a little slow, and it's hard to guess how far it'll walk with respect to time, but it's a good entry nonetheless. Well done!

Loopin' Dungeon by Itskdog 2020-10-05T20:08:20Z

Unfortunately for me the game kept moving me down and spamming my attack forever, so I couldn't really move or play the game. But the art style was great! Extremely nostalgic for those old-school visuals.

Infinite Pinball by Nick Barrash 2020-10-05T02:49:09Z

How come I've never heard of infinite pinball before? What a unique idea! Fits the theme real well. I kind of wish there was a bit more I could do other than wait for the ball to get close to one of the few paddles I had. But it's a real solid entry. My favorite thing about it is how the game never resets and flows from one attempt to another. That's a good detail. My best time was 3:34!

Protogonus by RNGames 2020-10-07T00:09:59Z

This is pretty dang good. I lost track of time playing it. Perhaps it is a little too easy. I never had a problem clearing all cells. It's still a very good concept through. _really_ easy to say, "Ok, just one more level." Nicely done!

Looping Robot by zilulu 2020-10-05T19:40:47Z

A really robust and solid entry about controlling a robot with looping commands. The puzzles are well designed and all the sounds, music, and visuals fit together nicely. My small criticism is that if you retry a level, your previous attempt's commands get cleared up. I wish I could just fix my "bug in the code" without needing to rebuild it all again. Good entry, well done!

Frozen Potency by Eugenik 2020-10-07T00:55:07Z

That was quite the aesthetic. Big mood! The game looks and sounds great. The only two issues I see is that moving around a corner of the screen is clunky, and I really found no reason to ever stop moving forward. Anyway, I am a sucker for synthwave so I'm probably just going to start listening to Nuclear Winter forever now. Well done!

Nice concept though. I wish I knew the average amount of clicks all players went through. :)

Work Sleep Repeat by Manspider 2020-10-09T04:50:43Z

This game has big mood. It's simple but I think it brings out the appropriate emotional response from players. I was trying to desperately find a way out of the loop or somehow raise my hunger or sleep bars, but nothing. Also, the typing(?) that I heard far way(?) in one of the loops was pretty dang creepy. Thank you for the experience.

10_SECONDS by dan-one23 2020-10-05T06:02:27Z

Sometimes I would try shooting but couldn't, had to really spam the clicks to get my shots in. I like the quick pace of the game, and losing was not a problem since you're back on your next attempt right away. Nice work!

deertective (deer detective) by Samelgamedev 2020-10-07T00:43:27Z

The humor was really good. That was a great experience. Nothing to complain about; just a good time. Thanks!

Nailed it by Krg 2020-10-18T02:12:57Z

The core platforming movement has room for improvement. Jumping itself is floaty and you get stuck on walls if you keep moving against walls while not on the ground. On the other hand, I like the premise of the game, and there are a few levels that highlight the looping around levels very well. Good job!

Moving On by oa5f 2020-10-09T03:35:05Z

I liked the smooth looping between rooms as the restart mechanic to the game. I wish there were more things that could benefit from previous rounds. Aside the number-guessing part, the rest of the sequence of actions you just know you have to do really fast. In any case, The concept is nice, and the music was very fitting. It took a maybe 4 or 5 loops before I was able to win the game with only 5 seconds to spare! Nice game, well done.

Jumper by Akhil841 2020-10-05T04:19:05Z

That was really tricky! I was finally able to get all three squares but I never quite had enough time to reach the door. It's good for a quick challenge. Well done!

Snake Loops by Ividusk 2020-10-09T03:25:57Z

I think the game is a little too slow, even with the sprint key held down. Having to backtrack because you missed a snake loop is a bit painful to wait for. Related to that, I wish there was some kind of indicator, be that an arrow pointing you to a nearby loop or a counter showing how many are left would have been useful for knowing how much searching you have left to do.

Having said all that however, the game also excels in other areas! It is a very creative game. The setting, characters, task, all very creative and unique. The visuals are gorgeous. The world is lush and teeming with nice things to look at, and your character is interesting, unique, and its animation is so well done. Not to mention that it's a very complete game and well rounded in all aspects. And in that respect, you did a great job!

Stuck in a Loo by Xenon27 2020-10-05T02:59:17Z

I read the title of the game, I read the description. My reaction was "wat?" until I realized what you were going for. Do'h! Hilarious take on the theme. It was good fun. I wish there was a time counter or something to let me know how well I did. My favorite thing about the game is flipping the loo over. Somehow, it is satisfying and plays really well.

The Death Loop by droei 2020-10-05T20:04:02Z

I appreciate the honesty and humor of the message saying I was going to be trolled. Restarting cycle was a bit slow, but I liked the way the rest of the game toyed with my expectations. Congrats on your first LD jam! Keep coming back and keep making games!

the sisyphean man by Anomay 2020-10-06T23:36:19Z

I like the mechanic. It's a fresh take on the usual game about build a sequence of looping commands on a robot. The beginning was a little rough for me, I didn't really know what I was supposed to be doing and I felt like nothing really keyed me in on how the looping worked. Once I got the hang of it it was a pretty interesting experience though. My favorite part is how you took pieces of that well known music (the name is escaping me right now) and worked it into the progression of the game up to that finale. That was great.

Life is Loop by 4got10 2020-10-18T03:46:14Z

I like the simplicity of of the game, even if the message it is trying to tell is a little gloomy. Graphics were nice and although the music should have been repetitive, it wasn't, and instead fit the game really well.

Chromen by CaiClone 2020-10-06T05:06:29Z

That was a great experience. the game felt well-rounded. I feel like outside of just making actual mistakes, there wasn't much of an opportunity for the looping, which I would have liked to be explored a little more. In any case, I really enjoyed how you were able to tie it all together into an actual story. You managed to build a world for your game in very little time. Great entry, congrats on your first jam! Come back for more!

LoopLab by dearkh 2020-10-05T03:12:31Z

Welcome to Ludum Dare. Well done completing your first game! Keep up the good work and stick to it. Nowhere to go but up! :)

proceed by anchorlight 2020-10-05T03:59:07Z

_BIG_ mood coming from this game. I am a sucker for mysterious eerie games. Love the death(?) scene with the pink pyramid? It was really intriguing and I wanted to keep going but I got stuck after turning on the (f)light and couldn't figure it out. Still, I absolutely move the atmosphere of the game. Nice job.

A Clean Getaway by notanimposter 2020-10-05T04:54:02Z

It's a neat take on the theme. There's some repetition in there that normally might be unpleasant but I think it really drives home the Vacummba experience and solidifies this game for the stuck in a loop theme. Well done!

Buttercup#2 by MoHDI 2020-10-05T04:38:03Z

As I sit here watching a hamster run in a little wheel I sometimes wonder how all my life led to this moment and how I got here. These are the kind of strange experiences that make me love Ludum Dare.

X REALITIES AWAY FROM HOME by Francois_B 2020-10-18T03:38:31Z

This reminds me of The Lost Woods from Zelda but in space. It's a neat little memory game. Default ship is a little slow, but I like the sound effects. Those provide nice mood. Good job!

Catch the Higgs boson by Obi One 2020-10-18T02:23:06Z

I like the novelty of the game. I think the idea could have a little more depth if you could predict which path particles would take from a node so you could make some interesting cycles or paths or something. my general strategy right now is just to close all the nodes with a path out and open them the second a particle needs to come in. In any case, well done!

Project R.O.O.M by Arad HamidSamiee 2020-10-18T02:57:10Z

Ok, I admit. I was playing it. And I thought the visuals and sounds and everything felt pretty good. Started answering questions and then I looked at the _corner_. Holy moly. I don't know what I saw but I yelled and immediately closed the game. I am nervously laughing now. I spook easily, so I don't think I'll be booting this game up again even though I was very interested in it. Gotta hand it to ya, that was some BIG mood. So well done!

Spinning Around by Dmitry Mozgin 2020-10-05T05:22:52Z

This is pretty dang good. The game mechanic is intuitive and fun. It also plays really well. I do wonder if some people might get motion sickness from all the spinning. (I myself didn't, just wondering.) The part where there's huge ton of red spikes everywhere was really though. Couldn't quite make it through that but I had fun playing the game!

HarmonyMaybe by Kevin Du 2020-10-05T03:07:34Z

This entry provided a neat interesting break from the high energy most other entries try to achieve. Well done!

Harmony of the Spheres by StephanyeBlakely 2020-10-05T05:26:54Z

Hard to control the cube but I like the idea. pretty atmospheric vibes (no pun intended).

Vicious Circle by CameronOtten 2020-10-09T04:01:43Z

This game has big mood. I found the task to collect the lighter orbs to be a little repetitious near the end but I was able to finish the game anyway. Those transitions between layers were pretty wicked cool, by the way. Nice work!

Loop Racer by Games_by_Tom 2020-10-08T06:29:24Z

Phew, it's quite tricky to control the bus at the beginning but I got the hang of it after a while. I did the first level and got all 4 points in exactly 100 seconds. :)

Theme is very strong with this entry, of course. The physics are quite good and everything moves exactly as you expect. I'm not entirely sure if I am a fan of letting the player fall off the edge, but I guess I don't know what the alternative would be.

All in all, I like the take on the theme, it's a very unique game. Nicely done!

Paradox by IndieRonin 2020-10-18T02:37:56Z

This game stands out among most other entries I've played. I am actually a fan of the visuals and color scheme and the music is just absolutely on point. It fits the game so well and brings a lot of mood to it. I personally found the grappling a little clunky and difficult to master. There's not quite enough feedback from the game to know if I can grapple something or if I am even currently grappling. In any case, it's a great entry! I couldn't really find the "win condition" but it was a fun playground to zip around and explore. Really well done!

LD49 — Unstable

Rival Sniper by Hjalte 2021-10-06T00:52:33Z

I liked the visuals and this game seems like a good start for something. I would have liked the rival sniper to do more since that's where the name of the game comes from. Still, it was a neat experience, keep up the good work!

Kasprzak Saves Us All! (Again) by Phobos001 2021-10-05T03:01:40Z

Umm, dang, I got 0 exothons. I thoroughly enjoyed this entry. Very funny. Also was that The Rugrats theme? My favorite was Thharg. You can bet your life that I tried clicking on the option that apologized for not having enough time to flesh out that character. Worth a try! Anyway, that was a great experience. I would just make that (awesome) intro skippable so that I could easily retry the game with different options. But great job! Cheers!

SEXY BOOBY 95 by silkworm_sweatshop 2021-10-04T18:51:32Z

That was wonderful. You may call it an abomination but I call it a work of art.

birdbell by PaperAeroplane555 2021-10-04T05:17:15Z

I thought I had run into another game in this compo about a crow! But this game turned out quite different. I thought it was a pretty simple game at the beginning, especially with the minimalistic visuals. But by the time I got to the bells I was quite amazed at how good the design is. Really cool mechanics, I dig it a lot. There's also a TON of levels, so you got quite a lot done! I think if I were to improve something, I would definitely add some sounds, and zoom in on the levels (everything was quite tiny on my screen). But in any case, this game left me impressed! Well done!

Unstable Them by Jeremy Ryan 2021-10-04T05:04:15Z

I kind of like this very much. Silly quick fun. I like the little horse noises. Sounds like dogs? Still cute. I can appreciate this for having only 5 hours for the jam. Nice work!

1THRUSTR.EXE by verysoftwares 2021-10-04T05:48:19Z

That was a pretty cool concept! It's a very tricky game. So long as you take your time you can slowly maneuver the level once you have the bomb, but I found it pretty difficult to recover. That bomb goes flying everywhere when it hits something. I thought the music would get annoying, but I actually liked how it sounded like it was made from explosions. It felt like part the game's theme. Nice work!

-Connection Interrupted- by binary_coder 2021-10-05T03:55:01Z

I got a little lost at the very very beginning because I didn't notice that `./control` was clickable. But once I unblocked myself the game really took off. I initially thought it was a neat concept but then the real-time component appeared with those orbiting satellites and I thought the game was super cool then. I didn't get too far though, I just couldn't multitask well enough to look at what I was doing, and also look at the map to see how I needed to react. Still, great concept, nice work!

Psychogoat Collapse by 6smith 2021-10-05T02:33:18Z

I like the concept, and the visuals and sounds really set it apart. I'm sorry you ran out of time, but it's a good start! I'd like to see the rooms that appear to connect to previous rooms a little better. Sometimes those rooms were just not reachable with the way they spawned. I also love the wild use of colors. Real cool, nice work!

KungFun BaLance by LuhUchiha 2021-10-08T04:42:39Z

Interesting concept, feels like one of those micro games in WarioWare. The dial on the bar was a bit too fast for me, but I was able to get a score of 21. Graphics were nice!

KungFun BaLance by LuhUchiha 2021-10-08T04:43:34Z

Also, congratulations on your first complete Ludum Dare project! Come back for more in LD50. :)

Unstable Concoction by zantze 2021-10-04T05:55:18Z

That was quite fun. It was satisfying when your prompt tossed in like 10 items into the pot. I played on hard and got a score of 9920. I also enjoyed some of the generated phrases. Like "Four dumb fish," or "one American carrot." Nice work on this one!

Unstable Matter by thesedatedprince 2021-10-08T05:12:37Z

The mechanic was simple to understand but it was pretty fast paced and fun! I think it could use a little more variety in the long run but I had a great time. Well done!

Hazmat Magic by Ismael Rodriguez 2021-10-05T04:15:30Z

That was REALLY GOOD. The platforming was as smooth a butter, and mechanics were intuitive and easy to execute, and the pixel art and music was on point. Even the corporate messages were quirky and humorous. I have no criticisms to give, I only wished that this game was longer. My final time was 8:43, and I had 20 deaths.

Cloudfall by Diego Escalante 2021-10-04T04:14:18Z

@retrisma Thank you for the feedback! It's a bit of a hidden mechanic, but the crow actually slows down to 25% speed while the clouds slow down to 50%. So the clouds do continue moving faster (relatively speaking), but the whole scene gets the feeling of slowing down. So you and I are thinking alike but maybe my implementation left it too ambiguous to the player, or perhaps the slowdown difference is simply not enough for the average player to effectively manipulate it in their favor.

Devil's Sitter by VPhyre 2021-10-07T03:49:36Z

Dang, I didn't know taking care of a demon baby was so stressful! Days 1-3 went pretty smooth, but day 4 was really tough with the baby moving everywhere! It took me a couple retries, but I decided to instead gather all the items into the central room and then just pick up the item I needed and search for the baby.

I think the chair mechanic is a bit tricky to play with, I always struggled to get up and down the chairs for some reason. But aside from that, this is a good challenging game! Everything is fleshed out nicely. Good art, good music, good story. Well done, team! You should be proud!

Gem of Stability by JakobTheQuizGuy 2021-10-05T05:17:49Z

That was fun! I got to 187 seconds! The gameplay is simple but there's so much detail packed into the game. I loved the expressive character and how well they were animated. I appreciated the movement of the camera, made everything feel more alive. Even the background with the animated checkerboard pattern was a nice touch. I think I would have liked a bit more variety for the enemies, but maybe I just didn't get far enough. Anyway, nice work, cheers!

Haywire by ScalphaMission 2021-10-04T05:28:04Z

It seems like this game has a lot of potential. You got all the pieces built already! The last bit it needs is a good tutorial or way to ease the player into the game. I felt pretty lost at the beginning and spent my first attempts just reading what each thing did and needed to be built. I also wish there was a way to see what materials something currently has because I was waiting on some things to build but had no idea what I was missing.

All that to say, it just needs a little handholding at the beginning. but there's a lot of potential in this game! It's very unique and interesting. Nice work!

Fragments by Retrisma 2021-10-04T04:54:31Z

That was a wonderful experience. I really appreciate how this game hits the theme perfectly. All the visual noise that appears as you take more damage was a very great alternative way of showing health. If there was something that I would try to improve, it would be the controls. It might have been the frame drops, but the character was quite tricky to control. But all in all, great game. Nicely done!

Sanity Check by BinaryPrinciple 2021-10-05T03:44:50Z

Good, fast-paced and hectic! Which pipe do I throw my stress into? :) Jokes aside, there's surprisingly quite a lot in this game! I found the controls to be a little clunky, especially when trying to pick up and drop thoughts, but you put in a lot of detail with Mike's thoughts, the dialogue of the player, and the animated 3D environment. So aside from my struggles trying to pick up and drop off things, I think it's a well-rounded and impressive game. Nice work!

Among Monolyths by Dekajoo 2021-10-05T00:48:06Z

Really cool game. I am a big fan of the witness so this was really fun for me. It brought out the same feelings of the witness when you would solve a puzzle and you would feel really good about it because you deciphered the rules alone, without any handholding. Having said that, I couldn't quite finish it. I just couldn't get past a few puzzles to continue, but the ones that I did complete were a ton of fun to solve! Really cool, nice job. You also nailed the theme of the jam with both the story and the visual effects.

Pile Up Medieval by zimny11 2021-10-07T03:08:51Z

Wow I didn't expect the fight at the end. Unfortunately I had no way of defending the town against him. I tried a second time but wasn't able to get too many buildings that would attack back. It's a neat concept though! Nice work!

Pile Up Medieval by zimny11 2021-10-07T03:19:18Z

Ok, I gave it a couple more tries and I was able to get some castles out, which made it much easier. Woohoo I protected the town!

Crumbling Down by JustCallMeBB 2021-10-08T05:04:50Z

I admit, I saw that it had crumbling floors and I thought I knew exactly what I was getting into, but then you broke out the glue. What a simple, easy-to-understand mechanic. And yet you were able to squeeze every last drop from this mechanic to use it in very interesting and complicated ways. I had a great time playing this game. Looks nice, and had a good steady difficulty curve. Great job!

Warp Driver by Wilko 2021-10-08T04:10:42Z

Pretty well fleshed out game! I like that black hole shader a lot. :) There's not much to criticize for this submission. I felt like it achieved what it wanted to do well, and the music, graphics, sound effects, and gameplay worked well together. Perhaps my minor nitpick is that the game could be fully playable with the mouse, but I am required to use the keyboard to continue the tutorial or to restart the level. Being able have the option to click through that would be nice. Heck, that'd make it nearly ready for mobile! Well done, good game!

Lucky's Table by tjm 2021-10-04T05:42:25Z

I like the interpretation of the theme! This takes pinball tilting to a whole new level. I do wish the pinball game itself had a little more variety so I could really make use of tilting the table in interesting ways, but this is a good start for this concept. I like that the high score and other UI elements are saved for the pinball table's backboard. That was a nice detail. In general the dedication to build the whole 3d environment was very nice.

Radio Inactive by Edoardo Talamini 2021-10-10T03:30:52Z

I liked the graphics! At first I wasn't sure that there was a win condition. I just assumed I had to follow instructions until my doom, since the bars kept raising. I guess I was just not very good in my first playthroughs. I also figured that I just had to wait for all the information to come through from the radio rather than take risks.

Then I read the comments here and realized I wasn't quite playing right. I was able to fix everything after a couple more tries with the winning condition in mind. I liked the art, and the game follows the theme very well! Maybe don't play the same sound 50 times when all the bars raise at the same time when you lose though, that was a bit too loud! But well done with this game!

The Madness of Larry Donovan by The Lame Brain 2021-10-05T02:50:58Z

It's an interesting concept, and I liked the atmosphere the game had. It's my first exposure to a spooky thing this October. Thank you for setting the mood for this month. :)

Unstable Memories by potkirland 2021-10-06T02:38:22Z

I had a pretty difficult time knowing what to do, since the instructions appeared right during the time I had to do something to not fail. So if I took the second to read the prompt, I'd lose and have to restart. Having said that, the 3D environment was impressive and set the mood quite well, so nice work!

Dank Brew of the High Mage by John Luke Lusty 2021-10-07T03:25:22Z

Dank brew and a high mage huh?

It took me quite a few tries, but for once I managed to not disintegrate myself. This game has big mood and big humor, visuals were lovely and the balancing challenge was neato. That glass shattering sound effect sounded so authentic! ;)

the end by Dennis Magnusson 2021-10-05T03:15:59Z

The concept is simple but you added a lot of variety to the game. The cutscenes were a nice touch. I was able to balance for 59 seconds!

Escape Pod by Grumpy Gecko 2021-10-08T04:49:30Z

I like the graphics! I got a little stuck until I realized I could roll the cylinders from the sides, but all in all, it was a nice proof of concept. Congratulations on completing your first jam! Make sure to come back for LD50! :)

Moonbase Melee by GustavB 2021-10-08T00:35:32Z

I was a little confused at first, I thought I was doing a good job but it turned out I was just smacking the arrow-looking projectiles and not destroying the green things. I wasn't quite sure "when" to spend my energy so instead I stored it so that my base movement speed stayed up.

The game has good mood. I like the art direction and the player animations, and it felt pretty satisfying to whack things away! I got through 5 waves and killed 24 enemies. Far, far from the dev high score!

Komuro by Ghoulean 2021-10-06T00:58:33Z

Kind of a neat puzzle idea, I've never seen something like that. It got a little repetitive after a while. Maybe it was because I reached level 51. Still, it as a good time. Thanks!

Lemmini by aplegatt 2021-10-05T03:10:26Z

That was oddly relaxing to play. I did feel a bit cheeky to rely on balancing the lemming on a stick. If I had a way to rotate the sticks to more easily build bridges and such would make it less likely to be cheaty. Congratulations on your first jam entry! Come back for more on LD50. :)

Werlds by badmuchachob 2021-10-07T00:55:10Z

Looks like the old windows music visualizer?? This game is pretty strong in mood with the visuals and sounds. Unfortunately I couldn't get past the 3rd loop as everything was tad bit too unstable. I wonder if it loops forever or if there's an ending? Good job with the game, it was certainly a unique experience!

Tetromino Stack by Myles Doupe 2021-10-07T03:56:15Z

Dang, I'm not very good at this game, I could only get it to 10.1 high. I thought that was pretty good until I saw the screenshots from others. Although I'm bad at the game, I can appreciate the cool concept! The idea is so simple that you can start playing right away, but has enough room for the player to develop their skill and own playstyle. And the game plays well. I like that the pieces pivot around the place where you grabbed them, gives you another layer of control. Nice work on this game!

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Hurrikeyn by Josh Riley 2022-04-11T03:47:20Z

A simple concept but really well executed, I had a lot of fun! I got to 93 words / level 29 on medium.

I liked how the individual letters fell out after completing a word, that was a nice detail. But by far what I liked the most was the dynamic music. It really took the experience to a whole other level. Nicely done!

This Special War by mvasko2 2022-04-11T04:33:45Z

This game has really big mood. It's a very serious and lonesome game. It feels very isolating and dark. The gameplay itself is pretty simple but everything around it really ties the whole setting together. Sum of its parts, I think. Thanks for the experience, really well done!

Last Robot Survivor Needs Energy by Wonz 2022-04-09T03:57:16Z

_OH YEAH THAT'S THE GOOD STUFF_

I loved the the voice acting for the game and all the sound effects. More games in LD should experiment with that! I think the game would benefit from faster movement, it felt like I was crawling and I eventually had a hard time dodging shots. Good game, nicely done!

Eschaton, Dark Forest of the by Tygrak 2022-04-14T05:11:59Z

This really awesome! I super enjoyed it. It almost felt like 3D Undertale, especially with the characters and all the dodging. The visuals are simple but they really work. Additionally, the sounds really add to the mood. Especially when the Eschaton is arriving and everything is all purple. The way the calm music blends with the high-action music is also top notch too! The story felt deep and meaningful. Both existential and peaceful somehow.

I almost wish _I_ was the one who made this game! You should be really proud of this one!

Carpentangle by Jimbly 2022-04-09T06:04:52Z

Love the unique mechanic of this game! It works so well! Really enjoyable to play. Did you ever consider the ability to rotate the clusters of blocks before you place them? Could be interesting, but I also did enjoy the limitations of just trying to fit them in wherever I could. Really well done game! Bravo!

Live For Later Or Live For Now by khaotom 2022-04-13T04:20:33Z

I feel like I learned something....

It was a good experience. Very surreal and the audio really aided in that. I did a couple of day cycles as these little skulls popped around; very evocative and I really wanted to know what they meant. Eventually they turned red. And a little later, the game was over? Did I die? I think I died. I like how unique this entry is. This was really good. Nicely done!

From Dust by tater-hater 2022-04-11T01:35:16Z

It took a few tries but I was able to beat the game with a score of 550! I think the game is well rounded, the animations, the scrolling scenery, the dust, the music, it all ties together nicely. Perhaps the gaps between some of the obstacles is a little too tricky.

Also, if you want to go for bonus points in the future, this game is a great candidate for some jump buffering to make it really feel good to play. :)

Tree Protector by dusho 2022-04-09T20:00:21Z

As others have said, aiming is really difficult in 3D space with a camera that only stays on one side and especially in orthographic mode. Really messes up our monkey brains trying to interpret a 3D space when far away things are the same size as close things.

Having said that, I love the unique idea of this game. I wager that this is the only game in all of LD50 where you play as a squirrel! I think that if you redesign the camera and aiming a little bit you could have a really neat game in your hands.

Well done with this one! I was able to disintegrate 26 woodcutters before the tree fell.

Soul Dilemma by muriel 2022-04-13T03:57:03Z

Wow that was really good! I was surprised how huge the scope was for this game and you pulled it off! Sometimes the lighting was a little glitchy so I couldn't see the field of vision from the guards, but aside from that, there's nothing to complain about on this one! The gameplay was really fun, the difficulty ramp up was smooth, the different abilities felt powerful but not over-powered, and being able to be extra risky for additional souls is great. My favorite detail was all the sounds that play when you break into a house. There were so many of them and they were all really fun to hear.

You should be really proud of this one, it was a blast! Nice job.

Lazer Bean by johnnysix 2022-04-09T03:34:57Z

I'm not entirely sure what I was supposed to do or how to play. It seemed like the rocks just crashed through all the levels instantly and then maybe I had to shoot the portal?? I would get to the game over screen in maybe 10 seconds every thing.

Despite my confusion, the game has some great visuals. The pixel art and animations are really beautiful!

Asteroid Defense Force by benbennett 2022-04-11T03:28:58Z

I like how frantic the game is! Especially in the first attempt when you are just learning the ropes and everything is new. The robot voice giving you the ETA also added to the pressure nicely. I feel like I mostly ignored the feed telling me when things were ready so maybe there's a better way to show you when things are off cooldown from the main screen. But that's a minor nitpick. I think this is a really neat submission. Awesome job!

International Shipping Simulator by Likirus 2022-04-12T00:06:36Z

Really cool concept. It works pretty well, although I admit I wasn't quite sure what I was doing initially. I was 20 seconds away from winning, but it looks like nobody is getting GPUs now!

PsyDog by theslate 2022-04-13T04:07:57Z

I like the pixel sprites! The dog is fun to move around and bark/bite with, so at least there's that!

Tantric Adventurer by bucketh3ad 2022-04-09T05:41:25Z

_Phew, what an adventure!_

As everyone has already said, the music with the vocals is really wonderful and gives this game a lot of character.

I would love for this game to have a little more variety in terms of gameplay, but you did a nice job anyway! My high score was 1013.

MoonDoggle by realryanrogers 2022-04-09T19:48:16Z

2:35 with 203 bugs killed. Neat concept and the visuals are really nice! I do wish I could hold the button down to just fire as soon as the cooldown is done. Or if there is a way, I didn't know about it; the game doesn't teach you the controls.

With some more variety you could have a really neat game in your hands! Well done!

Mike Quarter (The Kitchen Porter) by Madbeagle 2022-04-11T04:50:03Z

Dang this is difficult! But I think once I started making use of the stop/start ability I was able to get further into the game. That mechanic adds a good amount of depth! I like the overall look, but the thing I really liked was the music. Real good bop! It was the main driving force for me to try to keep the dishes going!

Nicely done! My highest score was 6559.

Into The Light by Yorsh 2022-04-14T04:44:13Z

I got a score of 72! I love how the UI is integrated into the environment, with the phone showing your health and score, the game over text slightly behind trees, and the flashlight turning on when pressing play. All of those are super nice details that I really love!

I never imagined I would be trying to help mosquitoes, of all the animals out there!

The Flower of Marasca by F1Krazy 2022-04-09T19:36:52Z

I got stuck after retrieving the flower because I died and didn't have any more of a few powerups. Also I think I used the flower right when I got it because it seems like it works like other powerups but then I just had zero of it. Not sure if that was going to matter later on. But in general, the level design was alright, just need to design away places where the player can be softlocked.

Having said all that, this is a pretty good LD50 entry! There's a lot of content in this game and everything is pretty well fleshed out! Nicely done!

Tyranny Defense Simulator 2984 by WFMG 2022-04-14T04:20:17Z

A bit loud at the end! If you wanted to go for that overwhelming feeling with all the voices, maybe you could turn down the volume as they begin to pile up.

It's a neat concept! It might be cool to have some "benign" messages that you might not want to censor, so then parsing the messages themselves under time pressure becomes part of the game, rather than just how quickly you can press the buttons.

The graphics were great, and the voice acting was a nice touch! Well done!

Moonshot by Diego Escalante 2022-05-06T21:13:15Z

That's amazing, thank you @lee-reilly! And thank you for your contributions to the game jam community. Looking forward to the next GitHub Game Off!

FUSE by Ossi 2022-04-12T00:11:19Z

Pretty simple game, but it's well executed and well rounded. Music was pretty good! I found it a little difficult to click on the flame, I wish it was a little more forgiving on where I clicked. Still, nice work finishing the game! I lasted 100 seconds, saved all 3 fuses, sparked 331 times, and got 16950 points. :)

Tin Can by Hiku 2022-04-11T23:55:11Z

A little difficult to know what I am doing: I ended up doing things pretty randomly and seeing what would happen. Visuals are lovely! A very interesting game for sure. Nicely done!

Life of a Mosquito by Cary Stanley 2022-04-09T19:16:47Z

Neat game! I liked the graphics; it all fit together nicely and provided a neat little challenge for a while. The voice acting was a nice touch!

Nighty Night, Nosferatu by Shawn Moore 2022-04-09T06:22:51Z

Really cool idea! It almost felt like a spatial puzzle to figure out what path you needed to take to stay in the shadows. My one criticism is that the shadows' edges were very diffused the farther they were casted from the objects; makes sense in real life, but in this game it meant it was difficult to know where they started and ended (especially with the second blue sun). I'd personally like to see this game with crisp solid shadow edges. Still, this is a wonderful experience, nicely done!

ENTROPY by LarsDu 2022-04-11T19:28:48Z

It's a neat concept. Seems simple but it can get unwieldly quickly!

The End? by michaelaranda 2022-04-11T04:11:18Z

I was getting close to fueling up the rocket but then I accidentally boosted the asteroid towards me somehow. :( I think timing the boosters correctly is pretty difficult, and having them work against you is a little tragic.

Having said that, this is a pretty cool game! I like how frantic it is. I couldn't quite win just by myself but maybe if I enlist a player two, I might be able to pull it off. (Actually, is it balanced for two players? Or one?) The art was wonderful too. Really fun to play! Well done, you two!

Dilley and the Sacred Stones by Frogravity 2022-04-11T03:40:49Z

Funniest game I have played for LD50 so far! Really good jokes. Although I guess it's good that I saw some of the last few MCU movies. Came for the gameplay, stayed for the cutscenes!

Hotel Lazarus by sacredbacon 2022-04-09T20:24:22Z

Very ambitious game! I like all the different things that the guests wear, that's a nice detail. Camera control is a little difficult, and I didn't even know you could zoom out until after I finished playing when I saw other comments.

Brings me back to my days playing Tiny Tower. Ah, good times. Thanks for the fun! Nicely done.

Tree loves Sun by AppoxGames 2022-04-13T02:30:50Z

Unique concept. I had a pretty relaxing time playing this game! I like how dynamic the tree growing is, that's very cool. I like the UI style of showing the score and health with the flower and heart, but perhaps I would move it off to a side. It kind of got in the way of the gameplay when I had a really tall tree. Nice work!

Papper by GeneralSturgeon 2022-04-11T03:18:00Z

Loved this game! Super relaxing and enjoyable to play for a while. Good use of the theme! Admittedly, I wasn't 100% sure what some upgrades did for me, and the little boosts were hard to see since everything is a light shade. But regardless it was a escape for a few minutes. Very well done! I got to 74m!

Delay the CATastrophe by byazzle 2022-04-11T01:03:08Z

Tough game but really cute! Real easy to start back up and try again. Loved the cat animations, and the mum voice acting! Really neat game. I wasn't quite sure if my best strategy was to just try to keep all cats separated or to try to make a few like each other. I was able to get 6 cats in the house before disappointing mum.

I have no complaints. Great job!

Etiquette by MikoziQ 2022-04-09T20:43:42Z

I think it was a nice experience. The packages coming in from the top was a nice sneak peek into possible difficult countries; that was a really nice detail. I think the game felt a tad slow. You had to wait a long while between each package. Maybe this could be a way to increase difficulty as you go: keep the same time limit to tag each package but decrease the time between each package so that the player has to keep constantly typing.

Nice game! I bet it would feel very complete with a few sounds and some background music! Well done

Singularity by Glaikunt 2022-04-14T04:34:09Z

_Look at you in all your glory._

I found the credits pretty funny. I wasn't entirely sure what I had to do at first, but I got it down once I caught the first animal. The concept is unique and nice, but I had a tough time outsmarting the AI. I just needed to hope that they would move into a corner so I could trap them.

Graphics were really nice! Nicely done!

Chess? by dreamscale 2022-04-11T04:20:43Z

I liked the concept! I feel like tweaking a little bit of it for balance and adding an enemy AI that made moves like you did would make this idea incredible.

It took me a few turns to truly understand what I was doing. I cannibalized a lot of my own pieces! Oops. Great work!

Block Wizard Arena by Games_by_Tom 2022-04-11T00:53:24Z

It's a neat concept, Kind of luck based but I had fun! I got through round 8 before losing. I liked the music, somehow it had a very nostalgic vibe to the 00s. I was ok with the blocks that you have to click, but it was not as easy to parse what they would do at the beginning.

Although graphics weren't a huge priority, I think you made it work though. It was fine to me! Nicely done!

White Death by Roboolet 2022-04-09T03:29:03Z

Really great entry! In my first playthrough, I was a little confused because it I had a fire at home but I wasn't getting warm. That part was confusing but I figured out on my second playthrough that I needed a bigger fire.

The game looks simple but I noticed a lot of careful detail and love was added to it! Especially the sounds like the footsteps, the ever-strengthening wind, and even those crows. Really gave this game a fitting mood. The stylized snow was great too, along with the very unique way of indicating to the player that they are getting cold. Fits the theme quite well too!

All in all, I am impressed with this entry, you did a great job!

Escape from Lluna by Denatus 2022-04-13T03:34:17Z

Seems like a quintessential shoot em up. I think it could use a bit of variety to really become something of its own. But I really liked the visual style and the music! The ship movement was good too. Nicely done! I survived for 44 seconds.

BOX IN OX by Jonah_SRG 2022-04-13T00:47:10Z

Super cute game. It's old school and really well-rounded. The music, sounds, graphics, and gameplay really feel like I'm being whisked a few decades back. It took me a whole playthrough before I really knew what I was doing, but on my second playthrough I was having much more fun! I don't think I'm very good at it though. I got 27!

Listening to Rama by ycb21 2022-04-11T03:56:45Z

Huge mood on this one! The art was beautiful and the rain sounds set the tone nicely. The gameplay is simple but it draws you in with the promise of hearing more things. Although I must admit, it took a few too many collapsed pieces before I understood what was going on. Perhaps it would be nicer to the player the game told them when they could let go of a piece and it would snap back. (Or maybe even snap back automatically even if the player is still holding the button.) I think that might have been what the beep was for, but it wasn't too clear to me.

Anyway, really great entry, you all did wonderful. Excellent job!

Serious Royal Business by Pitxardo 2022-04-09T03:47:33Z

I don't think I am a good king. I felt like I didn't know what I was doing. I liked how unique the game was though! I haven't seen another game like this in LD50.

The Squeel of Time by Victris Games 2022-04-11T04:42:31Z

_Oof!_

Simple but really fun! I like how quickly it is to just keep trying again and again and again. I got to level 15, after that I found it a bit too difficult to find a path. It seemed like I had to get lucky for a path to clear up before my slowdown timer ran out. Maybe there's a way to guarantee paths in the future so as to not just "get lucky?"

In any case, well done, had a blast!

Exclusion Zone by ambrits 2022-04-09T03:11:12Z

This was a great entry! It felt like a puzzle I needed to crack. I was a little bit confused at first but after a couple of restarts I got the hang of it. Maybe having the radiation go _around_ walls as it spreads instead of ignoring them would add more strategy!

Lava Land by kleszcz 2022-04-09T05:50:41Z

I don't think I was quite sure how to play the game. Was I supposed to put the structures on the lava's path? I didn't notice the lava slowing down but I am not quite sure.

I really liked how you implemented the spread of lava. That was very cool. I wonder how it works? Great job!

Death, Taxes, and Bananas by markymark 2022-04-11T00:36:03Z

_There's always money in the banana stand._

Two bits of feedback: - It would be nice to have some kind of feedback for damaging the tax agents. A depleting health bar, making them flash red, or something to let me know that my shots are connecting. - This only applies to people with multiple monitors, but since the cursor is not locked, you can accidentally move the cursor to another monitor, try to click to shoot, but now the game is no longer the active window and you probably end up losing. This issue is understandable though; it is probably hard to catch if you only have one monitor.

Aside from that feedback, pretty fun game! I like how frantic it is. The music was sort of simple but honestly it was very fitting and quite a bop! Title screen with the camera around Grandma Betty was a nice touch too. Well done!

LD51 — Every 10 seconds

Gamma Protocol by pianoman373 2022-10-06T04:49:13Z

Aside from the technical reasons of Pico-8, the autolock feature seems really suitable for this game. Lets me focus on movement and keeping an eye on my stats. The music is kind of a bop, I was really digging it. Fun and fast paced. Perhaps the one criticism I have is that the character can move far to close to the edge of the screen before the camera starts panning, which makes it difficult to know if you're going to run into something. Still, I had a fun time playing this game. Well done!

10 Seconds To Avoid Death by jk5000 2022-10-09T16:50:06Z

I wish I could modify the mouse sensitivity in-game, the camera movement felt a little fast for me and I had a harder time aiming than normal. Having said that, this game does so much with little. The voice acting and the environment really give the game personality and takes it up a level. I was very interested in hearing what the voice was going to say next, so I kept pushing my luck. Fun experience, well done!

Cascading Failures by stuffedgravy 2022-10-06T04:35:38Z

This is a neat concept. I really like that it's not just about going over to fix the red stuff, but also to check back at navigation to see if there's an incoming asteroid or not. That gave the game a little more depth! My one frustration was the narrow corridors and how easy it was to get stuck to the walls. But aside from that, this is a cool concept. Well done!

New Edition - A Publishing Adventure by Capitals 2022-10-07T01:32:41Z

This is a very unique idea. I haven't played something quite like this in LD51 yet. The article titles are interesting and make it feel like there's a larger world out there, which is cool. I admit, at first I wasn't sure what I was doing, but I started to understand a couple weeks in. I managed to survive the 7 weeks. Good work!

Hiccups by cogcomp 2022-10-06T03:16:42Z

I found movement to be _really_ fast, and then I noticed in your gameplay video that it is much more reasonable on your end. It's a common gotcha, but maybe for the next game jam, try to make movement framerate independent. :)

I ended up spamming the spacebar a lot, but I enjoy the large variety of enemies and levels. There's a lot of them! Great work on your game.

Starshot by groverburger 2022-10-06T03:41:04Z

This is _really_ fun! I would love to see a more refined version of this game with a little more variety and a few tweaks. The game is a little slipper, and the camera turn rate was extremely slow. I wish I could change the camera sensitivity in-game. I'm not very good at it, I only got to 6 levels. But still, very fun game. I loved the little red triangle enemies. Very cute.

Onades by sergilazaro 2022-10-08T14:53:17Z

I like the minimalism in this game. It's simple but effective! It is a pretty addicting game, and clearing the waves felt pretty satisfying. I'd love to see more enemy types, perhaps some that don't just move straight at you but also around you so that it is a little harder to aim at them. I got to wave 45! Good game!

10 second arcade by loveapplegames 2022-10-08T16:05:57Z

Everything moved way too fast for me. I assume it is because the game is not frame-rate independent. The 10 second timer at the top actually lasted about 4 seconds when I played. Because the game ran way to fast, I wasn't able to complete a single level, but I did like all the variety between the different levels. You can tell a lot of effort went into the game. I also liked all the sprites; the game had a nice art style. Nice job!

Factory Manager Hero by mstrp 2022-10-08T04:58:36Z

I would switch the green area to great quality and red to bad quality. The way it currently is really messed with the color conventions I've lived with all my life. I'd also suggest making toggling the place you teleport with by just pressing the spacebar. That way, players can have both hands on the keyboard as they normally do to type.

It's a neat game though, and it has an interesting take on the theme. It'd be cool to see this game refined a little and expanded on. Well done!

Watch Out by 100th_Coin 2022-10-06T04:07:17Z

This game has the best idea for the theme I have come across so far! Incredibly creative, wonderful puzzles, very humorous pocketwatch, lovely voice acting. The part where the radio dies is a magical moment. It didn't have to be in the game but it gave the game so much personality. Gave me a big grin.

For me, the game got much easier when I realized I could take advantage of the little transition between platforms to toggle between two states real quick without fear of falling down.

Thanks for the experience, awesome work!

Void Garden by Liam 2022-10-09T22:30:36Z

It was mentioned before, so I don't want to regurgitate too much, but keeping track of what each vorg requires and produces is difficult to remember. Your own idea of including that information into the graphics is great, I think that would help a lot. Aside from that, you got a solid foundation here! The game is very fleshed out, and the step by step tutorial is really well done. It took a few tries to really get going, but I had fun! Nice work.

Eleventh Second by Jeremy Ryan 2022-10-08T17:26:11Z

Extremely fun! Since restarting is so quick, It's very addicting to try again to see if you can get a little further than last time. Grappling time batteries was super satisfying.

It's a little tricky near the end when there's just a single platform on the bottom end of the screen. I don't know if it's impossible, but I was never quite skilled enough to pull that off.

Still, after a handful of tries I was able to reach the top of the clock tower. :) I had a wonderful time playing this. Well done!

Raiding By Myself by wildmusketeer 2022-10-08T05:24:32Z

I was really hoping someone would do something like this with the theme! Thanks for delivering. I was only able to get to the end of level 7... Not sure if there's nothing after getting to the exit in level 7 or if it was bugged. Also, camera felt a little wonky, maybe it was because it lagged behind my mouse movement. I usually expect a camera in third person to move with my cursor instantly. Still, nice work, I like the idea and I hope to see more of it in the future!

Sheeple by Jonathan Holm 2022-10-04T06:21:14Z

I wish I could rate the game! I like the concept. Although there's not much to it, what _is_ there works really well. The second part was unexpected, I wish there was more to it!

DODGE! CATCH! DESTROY! by Solah 2022-10-09T22:43:39Z

Quick note: The leaderboard doesn't work when running the game on the LD site.

This was super fun. I've played a few LD51 submissions where the entire game basically changes like this one, but what I think is really clever is how the rocks, butterflies, and blobs change and persist when the clock runs out. It gave a continuity to the whole game that I really enjoyed. I loved the different types of music depending on the game mode. I also really liked how your own character displays the time _and_ what mode you're about to switch to. That was a really great detail.

As I am writing this, I am at the top of the board! :stuck_out_tongue: But I am sure someone will dethrone me soon. Nice job on this game!

The Zero Countdown by kromeboy 2022-10-09T22:50:25Z

There's a little bit of waiting between each wave, but when the wave comes, it really does. Well-rounded game, good job!

Lizard Chef by Zachary Shah 2022-10-08T14:34:45Z

Really fun and creative idea. The game had charm. It gets tricky trying to maneuver around the table, but I guess that is part of the point. The message that pops up once you lose had me laughing! Great work, I liked it a lot.

Curse Of Infinity by Sky 2022-10-06T19:30:58Z

Pretty fun and fast paced! It would be nice if there was a little bit of a forgiving grace period when a new rule is applied. I died because I was grabbing an orange right when oranges became bad. But this is a good take on the theme, and the difficulty progression is so natural. The aim assist was a good detail to have, as it let me focus on the ever-growing number of rules rather than lining up my shot perfectly. Well done!

Bug Zapper by Diego Escalante 2022-10-06T03:31:45Z

@zungryware, Well spotted, the first 25 levels are designed manually, after that the levels are dynamically generated. Although it is not very clever generation: All it does is add one more pre-targeted bee and one more un-targeted mosquito each dynamic level. Thanks for playing!

Ninja | Thief by rolferm 2022-10-08T04:35:22Z

As others have said, controls could be better. But I like the 3D environment, it has a nice charm. :)

Lys by VPhyre 2022-10-06T03:05:20Z

You can tell a lot of heart went into this game. It was a fun experience! It's a little easy to just brute force and click through some of the puzzles, but it was fun to play all the way through regardless. Nice work!

Zombie Street by badoomtch 2022-10-08T14:05:58Z

Nice, well rounded experience. The difficult is at the whims of the random change, so on average it was usually the same. For me, that meant that after a score of 200, I had to let myself die in order to see what would happen once I lost. Maybe make it so that there a 75% chance of a bad modifier every 10 seconds, and 25% of a good modifier? That way it trends to be more difficult over time? I like the 3D environment, and how your character spins around gradually rather than just instantly flip back and forth. I also like the little knockback when hitting an enemy. It felt like the bullets had weight to them. Good work!

10 seconds Delirium by Furano 2022-10-06T23:26:53Z

Fun idea on the theme! I like the opposing gameplay and how one side affects the other. The 3D environment is really cool. I like that style. A super minor issue I had is that one time the yang (the dark one?) appeared all the way to the left (or maybe I pushed it there??) which meant that I couldn't place ying in the right spot to connect them.

I'd love to see this expanded on with more variety. I found the loop to be kind of easy over time and I had to let myself die to see the end of the game. Great work on this game!

DUNES RIDER by Clément K 2022-10-04T06:02:02Z

My distance traveled was 12958! I kind of wished that instead of dragging I could just click on the cards in order to do things faster: Click to get them into my hand, and depending on where I was, click to use the cards. But maybe that's the point and you have to work hard to go fast. The game is and interesting concept, and I really liked the animated "menu" and how it was part of the world. Great creativity!

Alpaka madness - Every 10 seconds... by RobbzenOne 2022-10-06T03:26:15Z

I got a score of 96! Pretty fun game, and surprisingly full of energy. Love the sprites, and the colors. Very vibrant. I did find the close range attack to be completely inferior to the long range one though. The long range one doesn't stop your movement, and... it has longer range. In any case, very cute and enjoyable game, nicely done!

Flip and Swap by WeAreDev 2022-10-05T07:31:54Z

The game is really well rounded and fleshed out! You all worked well as a team. It was a simple and solid concept that was easy to grasp but I can imagine there's a lot of ways to extend this idea further. My only feedback is that it felt a bit too floaty and slippery. Tweaking the movement so that it's a little more responsive would really let the game shine more. Really nicely done!

What is that sound? (Repeating every 10th second) by airwaffle 2022-10-08T05:10:08Z

That was creepier than I expected... The game is minimalistic but it was able to bring out emotions in me. Well done in creating that tension with so little! Big mood! I'd love to see this game expanded on, and perhaps add some branching narrative. Great job!

Compulsive Jousting by Mavvy 2022-10-10T04:06:17Z

I had a good time. I wish there were more levels! But I enjoyed the variety of environments, the optional stars, and the level select menu. It made it easy and tempting to go pick up the stars I missed. :) Visually, the game is wonderful, I love all the bright colors and crisp sprites. Nicely done all around!

mood swing simulator by alexander epton 2022-10-06T04:41:34Z

Good twist on pacman. It almost feel like the area is set up the same way? The game is well executed, and I appreciated the display of the current thoughts in the center, that was a nice detail. Good job!

Moo Moo Care by kory 2022-10-04T06:30:21Z

I wish I only needed $500 to retire! I liked the concept, although it was a bit difficult to get a grasp on for me. I think I kept mixing up the buttons. The game's style was charming and enjoyable. Nice work on this one!

Relaxing Roots by SharpLoaded 2022-10-04T19:08:10Z

Very relaxing. I admit, I think it started a little slow when you only have one root end. But once I started managing 4+ root ends at once, it felt much more involving and interesting. Great game! Screenshot 2022-10-04 130544.png

Temple of Harmony by yulotomorrow 2022-10-04T06:47:41Z

I did find the mixed up order of the statues (compared to the order of the bars) to be a little frustrating. It seems like the main challenge of the game is to listen to the tune and rebuild it by ear. But it felt like the statues got in the way of that.

Having said that, I love the art style, and I really like the concept. This game has a lot of heart put into it. It's a difficult game, but pretty creative! Great work!

Disco Roller by owca 2022-10-04T05:50:37Z

Simple but pretty fun! In fact, it was kind of addicting since it was so easy to jump back in. I found myself playing many times over just to hear that groovy tune. Not much to complain about in this entry. It is very solid throughout. Nicely done!

Connie by Payaosito 2022-10-04T06:11:58Z

I think the game would benefit from having a tiny little diagram on-screen to help you remember what elements beat what. Or perhaps start with less elements, and increase the difficulty by adding new elements to keep track of. I got some hits in, but I didn't get anywhere close to winning. The game is creative though! I love the bunny character, and I really like how the sword flies off when you die. That was a nice touch. Good job!

My Rotten Soldier by Misfire_dev 2022-10-11T00:42:13Z

Rest in peace, kitty. I loved the atmosphere of this game. The world feels rich and full; it feels lived in and alive. Huge points in mood. The movement felt a little clunky and non-responsive at first, but that was before I noticed that I was waiting for my cat to hop on my back first. After that realization, it felt pretty natural. Really well done, great work!

Last Defense by Pixelydian 2022-10-10T05:07:36Z

That was super enjoyable. I loved the music! It was top notch quality and very nostalgic. In fact, the graphics were too! Perfectly arcade-like. The gameplay was very good too. I tend to be very impatient with the lunar landing kind of games, but the auto-landing feature was _so_ good, and really helped out with my lack of patience.

I have no complaints, this was so good. Amazing job!

Cutthroat Cannoneer by Glove 2022-10-06T04:17:13Z

This game has good personality! With the rocking boat, the screen border, and the enemy ships, it feels very alive. It has a simple idea that it executes well. The only criticism I have is that it feels very unforgiving. One second wasted walking in the wrong direction could cost you the game. Even just having multiple lives before game over would alleviate this a bit, I think. Still, it's a well rounded game, and I had fun playing it a couple of times. Well done! My best score is 8 enemy ships sunk!

Speedy Farmer by Papaya 2022-10-09T17:01:10Z

A little hard to interact with the tiles I wanted, and at first I wasn't sure what the end game criteria was. Until the "Final Year" message popped up I wasn't sure what I was trying to optimize for. Interesting game though! I really enjoyed how each season had its own musical instruments. That was a very nice touch. Good job on this game!

Poppy Birds by Sh4dUp 2022-10-10T23:32:21Z

The path line that the birds and powerups take is a little hard to see against the light background. Having said that, this is a very nicely executed game with a good amount of variety. I had a fun time playing it. Good job!

Clique Hell High by Sean Esopenko 2022-10-06T01:07:53Z

Had a lot of fun playing this one! I admit, I wish there were checkpoints because the game is somewhat difficult to get used to at first, and dying meant waiting a while and then starting over from the beginning. I enjoyed the visuals and the music a lot. Although a little subtle, I was able to notice the little clicks in the music that warned me when a switch was about to happen, which was a nice touch. The dog and cat having different music sounds was a great detail too. Well rounded game, great work!

Heckin' Schmeckin' by FoggyDude 2022-10-10T03:16:48Z

Fun game! I like the tail effect on the projectiles as they get faster. That was a nice detail. Great job!

Prism Protector by Shiiro 10psi 2022-10-08T04:45:13Z

I was a little confused at first because it seemed like nothing happened when I clicked anything. Turns out that I had a piece already selected, but the UI is a little subtle with selected pieces so I didn't know. It was an interesting take on the match 3 genre. I like that it is not just about making combinations but also thinking about the important heart piece, its placement, and how other chains affect it when a laser fires. Lots to think about when making moves, it is quite difficult! Good job!

Gravity Blocks by Soultie 2022-10-06T23:44:14Z

Fun prototype! I appreciated how the game taught you how to play at the beginning once you started playing. The controls felt a wee bit slippery for me. The visuals are simplistic but cool, I think they fit nicely. I loved all the various ways that coins moved on the screen, it kept the gameplay pretty interesting and fun. Nice game, good job!

Run, Slime, Run ! by Dahut 2022-10-06T23:36:42Z

Cool concept! I had fun playing through it. I like how you all managed to work with the theme in such a way that it wasn't just about waiting for the time to just expire, since your previous slimes affect your current slime. There was a sense or permanence to it. The art style was also very lovely. I also appreciated how spikes were also affected by previous slimes. It would be interesting to see how this idea could be expanded on with previous slimes affecting a whole multitude of other things.

Nice work on this game!

LD53 — Delivery

Sails by ping78 2023-05-09T08:04:43Z

Very cool work on the procedural terrain generation. I liked the sailing, and the boat battles were fun (despite being a little simple). I didn't quite know what I was doing in the store. I was not sure what any of the things I could buy would really do. I don't know how intentional it was for me to book it from start to finish. Unsure if I was supposed to stop at other towns to repair and such. Made it all the way to the end with 2 HP remaining! Good job on the game!

Impasta by Jozef 2023-05-05T07:05:17Z

Pretty unique and fun entry! The game felt complete and well made. No big criticisms, I had a lot of fun! My final score was 68 (so close!).

Grav-O-Delivery by XeduR 2023-05-09T07:31:59Z

I was only able to make two successful deliveries across two games. It is very difficult, but I do imagine once you have played it a bunch of times you get the hang of the trajectories packages can make across different gravities. If this game wasn't time-limited because of the jam, perhaps it would have been useful to start with a very simple setup (two planets), and then as the player gets more used to the simpler scenarios, throw more complicated setups (more planets, satellites, etc).

Having said all that, it's a very chill and relaxing experience. And it's so easy to just pick up and play a few times. The music was calming, and the visuals were very pretty. Great job on this game! There is potential here!

Meat Sweats by Str8griz 2023-05-04T06:00:59Z

Fun and hectic. I was a little confused at how to get some of the items at the beginning so I lost a lot of time and failed my first attempt. Second attempt went much better!

Morse Deliverer by SurWeaver 2023-05-04T03:04:10Z

The game has a simple concept as far as endless runners go but I think it works well! I wish it had a little more variety and that the levels were shorter and faster. But you can tell a lot of detail went into the game. From the little particles as you take a step to the voice acting. Great job! Congrats on your first LD game!

Courier Pigeon by Valyn Tyler 2023-05-04T08:17:09Z

The camera is a bit unwieldy, but the game is super cute and really pretty!

PARCEL ROCKET by Braveskin 2023-05-05T19:53:26Z

It is quite a tricky game. After a lot of attempts, I was barely able to to deliver gold to the first zone right next to it. The music and mood of the game fit the visuals pretty well. I can tell a lot of care went into the game, I just wasn't talented enough to complete it. Good work!

FoodEx by stesim 2023-05-09T08:15:36Z

The dings are a little too loud, harsh, and high pitched. And it's a little difficult to know where I am supposed to go. But those are minor complaints. I really like the uniqueness of this game and how you leaned into the ridiculousness of it. I _love_ that the food items are physical world items that you catch on your vehicle and that it can all get flung everywhere. That's pretty funny. Great job on this entry! Awesome work!

RELEASE THE MEAT by NuiN 2023-05-03T05:26:03Z

Great pick for music. That music SLAPS. Love how simple build parts can make really wacky contraptions, saw a few friends play this game with me and the different solutions they came up with were wild!

The feedback I have is to allow the player to edit their previous build when restarting. Sometimes I just want to tweak my current build a little bit before trying again and I don't want to rebuild it again from scratch.

Awesome entry, great job!

Wasteland Express by Gasimir 2023-05-03T19:37:37Z

I am a delivery master! The games visuals are conflicting to me. Because on one hand they seem very busy and I couldn't easily "read" the game. But on the other hand, they were colorful, pretty, and so detailed that they made the game feel alive. In general, I like the concept and the simplicity of just picking the game up and clicking around. The voice acting was a nice touch too. Once I noticed I could upgrade my base things really started to take off! Great effort on this game, good job!

Dead Deliverance by JimmyMcGinger 2023-05-03T19:26:04Z

The dash feels a little awkward to use to me since it uses your current trajectory. It's a bit of a departure from what I've seen in the past. Still, once I got the hang of it I could really use it to my advantage by doing stuff like super jumps. The art style is pretty nice, the music is energetic, and I like how the play area expands! Great job on this game!

Devil's Gone Nuts by StormForged 2023-05-05T20:27:50Z

Grabbing boxes sometimes was a little buggy, but it was satisfying to fling them into the devils' mouths. Neat game!

Wicked Postage by KhaoKG 2023-05-09T07:47:56Z

I am easily spooked and I went as far as I could, but it got too creepy for me so I stopped. That's not to say that's a bad thing, I think you achieved what you were trying to make! I'm just not necessarily the target audience. The sounds and lighting was spot on; really made the mood of the game come through. I **hated** that I had to do 180-turns all the time to do my job. But again, that's not a bad thing, I was just mortified that I would turn around and see something I did not want to see! The job itself is pretty easy as it is; checking for a stamp and sorting colors isn't too hard, but with some additional rules this could become something really special! Great work!

LD54 — Limited Space

RatTrap by JCMonkey 2023-10-04T23:44:23Z

The backtracking is a bit painful. I was able to open up 5 of the gates after trying so so many keys, but I ran into some spikes while at 1HP and I didn't want to start over. I did love the atmosphere a lot. The lighting and sound really added to the mood. I really enjoyed that part. With just a few tweaks this could be a really cool game! Nice work!

Justine Time by abcdef65g 2023-10-05T07:56:15Z

I was able to complete the game! The player movement could use some refinement; I wished it was a little more responsive and less slippery. Having said that, the main mechanic of the game is actually really creative and interesting! I liked the time-based puzzles that came from it. It would be cool to expand on this idea a little more! Great job!

Amazing Squirrel by Sora 2023-10-05T00:46:53Z

This game is _beautiful_. The controls say that I can jump, but I can't seem to be able to? Not sure if that's just a problem on my end. Either way, really good work. With a little extra time to complete a few features, this could be a really cool game! Great work!

Worm Out by Kyrios 2023-10-05T08:15:48Z

Our games share a few similarities! I like your team's take a lot. I am a wimp when it comes to scary games; this had me completely tensed up despite understanding how the game worked after a few tries. I think it is brilliant that even though you can see plenty of the environment, you only explicitly show the monsters when you shine the light on them. Real spooky see them appear so close when you turn around! That's good design.

Admittedly, I wandered around a lot at first because I didn't know what to look for. But once I knew how the gate keys looked, it was better. Still, it was an awesome game. Really great job!

Conveyor Chaos by wheelsx 2023-10-05T02:08:17Z

Admittedly, some of the sounds are pretty harsh, especially the laser enemy. However, the game has a cool concept! I like the idea of controlling the movement of the enemies over my own; it's a nice twist. I got through maybe 3 or 4 rounds until I got whittled down completely. Good entry, nice work!

Skyway 2 Heaven by raddishradish 2023-10-05T04:09:43Z

First level is reasonable, but I had a really hard time keeping my sheep alive after that. It's very difficult! I like the overall aesthetic of the game. The environment, music, and sounds all fit really well together. Nice job!

The One by smiley405 2023-10-05T05:28:22Z

Simple concept but very tricky to master! Admittedly, I wish my sword had a bigger damage area like the enemies, but maybe I'm just not very good at this kind of game; I could only get to 18 kills. Good work!

Corporate Courier Deluxe by JuanRod707 2023-10-05T05:12:49Z

Hey! We had similar loudspeaker work-related announcements in our own game! This game felt like it started a bit slow; I was going through the motions for 20 packages without seemingly any changes in gameplay or difficulty. I like the concept of the game though! There's _just_ enough space to try to organize the parcels in the elevator and I enjoyed the additional complication from the oddly shaped packages. The voice acting was a great touch, along with the look of the 3D environment. Great job, team!

Mr. Orange & The Squeezer by Joe Bevis 2023-10-04T23:13:52Z

Yay Playdate game! Sideloaded and tried it out. It is a little tricky to get used to, but I appreciated the good use of the crack. I don't think I was very good at the game but I enjoyed it all the same. Good work! Screenshot 2023-10-04 171330.png

Airpansion by Beeb GameCodeCompany 2023-10-05T00:50:29Z

I did wish for a sprint button during times I had to backtrack. :stuck_out_tongue: Aside from that though, I really liked the concept. It starts out really strong with the intro! I liked the voice acted story. The colorful visuals were by far my favorite. Great job!

Shailu by Viktor_Same 2023-10-05T00:57:01Z

I wish the game was a little faster pace: Faster bats, more of them, but killable in one hit. But the music is pretty good! Good work!

Unsquished by RogerW 2023-10-04T23:52:14Z

The music is _slaps_, it's so good. Very fun arcade game. There's not much to complain about, this feels very well polished and everything runs smoothly. Maybe I would animate the walls getting pushed back rather than just instantly teleporting back to give a better sense of the player actually punching them? Still, that's a nitpick. The game was a lot of fun. Great job!

Snowlord by minjutin 2023-10-05T01:12:53Z

I am now the new lord of the backyard! Admittedly, I was a little confused at first. But the presentation kept me trying the game again and again until I won. It felt very satisfying to amass a large number of forts. Really creative concept and fun game. Great work!

KAAMOS by PabloAbraham 2023-10-05T01:49:44Z

What a great experience! It is so polished that I was a little surprised when I reached the end; I would have kept playing for hours. The mood, art, writing, and sounds work really well together. I can't provide any real criticisms, I just wished there was more of the game to play; but this was already so ambitious for a jam game. Great job, team!

Back to Space by Zazzar 2023-10-05T00:53:05Z

Movement is a bit slippery and difficult to control; it's also hard to tell exactly when things are in contact with you and such. Having said that, I loved the humor in the game, and just how creative it is. Really fun idea and inventive characters. My favorite was the `b@t`! :bat: Nice work!

Banti: Limited Space Bar by rankb 2023-10-05T05:32:22Z

While I think the game needs to be fleshed out more, I think the concept is actually pretty genius and has a lot of potential for strategy, action, and fun. I would love to play a complete version of this one day!

SPICE LIMITED by LePeridot 2023-10-05T04:31:24Z

Very cozy game. Really relaxing and soothing to play. I had a tile on my island that was completely surrounded by water. Maybe that is intentional, but it does prevent me from getting some achievements if that's what I am going for. Still, I guess I could just find a new island. Nice vibes, nice game!

Pocket Universe Snake by TheLastSlowpoke 2023-10-05T00:40:30Z

Addictingly awesome, I played it over and over until I got an I Love You for my score. :) Aside from adding a few sounds, this game is perfect. Great work!

Outta Space by Empyreans 2023-10-05T03:59:41Z

Admittedly, I was pretty clueless about whether to delete or keep a lot of files. I like the aesthetic though! Having the game inside this fake computer that restarts and blue screen's makes it really immersive. Really cool and creative. Nice work!

LD55 — Summoning

Loyalty by Erik Tate 2024-04-17T00:13:36Z

Looks stunning and sounds great! Although there can be a few frustrating bits where you can softlock yourself and must restart, the game plays really well and can be very fun! The Necromancer's quips was a great touch. Nice work!

Snack Summoner by Air Dinghy 2024-04-24T05:36:55Z

Whimsy and fun idea to summon snacks. I wish there was a little more variation in the gameplay, but it's a nicely made game that is well rounded. I appreciate the voice acting! Good job!

Cast by Shredmer 2024-04-24T05:15:33Z

Big mood from this game! I wish the waiting time after casting was a bit shorter. But the game is wonderful. Beautiful pixel art, really relaxing vibes, love the day and night cycle. I love the rippling reflections from the water. Great job!

Illusions of Grandeur by Koolruz 2024-04-22T15:17:38Z

This is by far the coolest game I've played in the jam. No notes, just a great game. I want more levels and more mechanics involving this idea. Really makes you think outside the box and I love that. Amazing work!

The Joshening by Pulni 2024-04-16T23:46:34Z

_Josh! Joooosh! Josh!_ Fun concept, Definitely in line with the theme. I found it a bit easy since I could hide behind walls and spawn things on the other side. But I enjoyed playing it and I loved the voice acting! Good work!

Morth Obscurum by XOREAXEAX 2024-04-22T15:03:34Z

Feels like a cool tech demo with really cool effects and ambience! The monster(?) is really well made as it moves around. Makes me wish there was more to the gameplay!

Banisher by mitur 2024-04-16T23:59:11Z

Took a little bit to get use to the subtle differences in the two colors. I wonder what could be done to make it more accessible to people that have trouble with colors. The gameplay was simple but surprisingly really compelling. Even though it was way too difficult for me, it was fun enough to keep trying many times! (Tried about 8 times, but was never able to win.) Still, great experience, the art and music also fit very well. Good job!

Last Ritual by Vitaslayer 2024-04-24T05:55:52Z

My fingies hurt after playing this game, but the premise was fun and compelling! I kind of wish that after a while, my minions would be more effective than my own clicking so that I could rely on them and rest my hand. Graphics were nice, and the music fit the game perfectly. Great job on this game!

Nexus Conquest by Blazejmg917 2024-04-24T05:31:04Z

It kind of throws a lot at you all at once, and I really wish I could use my mouse as input, but dang, there's so much to this game, and all of it feels well made and polished! Really great achievement to complete a game with such scope. Well done!

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

10 Second Script by Gabe 2018-04-27T02:43:14Z

Hey, this is neat. :) One of the more unique takes on LD41's theme.

Demon Dash by superpokeunicorn 2018-04-30T06:00:42Z

I had fun playing this game! I appreciate the existence of hard mode to keep playing after winning, and little details like how the music has a little outro after beating a level.

OUTLAW 🚗 MAYOR 🚓🚓 PANIC! by 01010111 2018-04-25T02:04:52Z

Funny, upbeat, looks awesome, and fun! Really good stuff. The graphics are inspiring.

Toodee and Topdee by dietzribi 2018-05-01T00:33:55Z

Super cool concept! My favorite detail is how the music slightly changes when you switch characters. That was really enjoyable. Also, nice cheeky joke at the end. Made me laugh.

GashaVroom by AidanMarkham 2018-05-08T02:12:01Z

That main menu song reminds me so much of the Mario Kart 64 menu music. I loved how the menus were part of the world, zooming into different locations in the room. That was a great touch!

Ping Bang Pong by geck0 2018-05-08T00:22:28Z

I found that this game had a good balance of hectic run-and-spam until you get em', and cautious tactical aiming around a corner. Fun entry! Good job!

Legend of Zoom by pkenney 2018-04-28T19:21:52Z

This was very fun! I loved the skid marks as your turn or get a big change in speed and direction. That was a really nice detail.

Spaz by mrwillowb 2018-04-28T03:21:56Z

Hey, happy birthday!

My Witch Shop (unfinished) by tinyworlds 2018-04-25T01:41:18Z

Beautiful graphics. The style and the animations are lovely.

CityDefense by JOrbits 2018-04-30T09:16:04Z

Very fun, and the visuals are beautiful!

Text Based Adventure by patvanmackelberg 2018-04-30T03:59:40Z

Pretty solid game! Had a good time exploring the levels and using the different weapons. Z was difficult, but it felt good to win over the big boss.

Cardramino by Joe Miller 2018-04-28T03:29:33Z

The blending of these two genres works surprisingly well! It's was pretty fun, although it was very difficult for me. Couldn't get many rows completed!

Ritoru Ponpon no inu by Steing 2018-04-24T04:43:47Z

Neat unique concept. Adorable. Nice looking graphics and art. Doggo.

BREAK // HELL by Incredible Ape 2018-04-25T01:51:02Z

Simple but great concept of the theme, and flawlessly executed. The polish on the game is wonderful. It truly feels like a complete, whole game.

Gradioid by BeamKirby 2018-05-08T00:29:40Z

Pretty difficult, but a good mashup! Nice work!

Love In The Gaming Club by D-Studios 2018-04-28T03:17:47Z

I appreciate the different sounding "dings!" Keeps the sound from getting stale. Good attention to detail!

Crazy Cube by YANIV 2018-04-25T01:56:00Z

Original concept! I like the aspect of having to solve little positional puzzles under pressure by the timings of other objects.

Someone Is Wrong On The Internet by huminaboz 2018-04-30T04:40:08Z

Had a lot of fun! That last few websites were tough! I liked that the game was forgiving enough to let you delete comments and continuing, and also lets you keep going after winning. Those were nice touches. They sound effects were subtle but very good, for some reason. Almost like a vibrating phone? Anyway, great job!

Just bullet: A turn-based hell by zeu31 2018-05-02T04:16:19Z

I really wanted someone to make something like this. I'm glad someone did! I like the concept. I think it would have been nice to have keyboard controls, since you could tap the arrow keys to choose a direction and press another key to shoot; less moving of the mouse back and forth. But I don't know how to do the diagonal moves with the arrow keys in an intuitive way. So maybe mouse clicks is the way to go. Regardless, I had fun playing the game, nice job!

StarClick: RTS + Clicker by Lerg 2018-04-27T05:53:12Z

Pretty well thought out game. The RTS and Clicker blend work surprisingly well together! Had a lot of fun. Great job!

HomicIDLE by Luke Brown 2018-04-24T05:02:18Z

I like the little details you put in the game. The initial pictures setting up the story and the punny comments the skeleton makes from time to time really gives the game character.

Midnight pulse by Szekeres Szabolcs 2018-04-24T04:27:37Z

Like others have said, checkpointing and keeping your current score would make more sense, or not checkpointing and starting with a score of 0 makes sense.

I love the look and feel of the game! The leaderboard gives a good incentive to keep trying and getting better. Gives it a fun competitive edge that kept me playing for longer. Great work!

Forging Heroes by Guilb 2018-05-08T00:35:10Z

The isometric controls were a little difficult getting use to, but I love how pretty the game is!

Guan's Island by Chris Coe 2018-04-24T05:27:29Z

There was a bug that crashed the game whenever I went into an area after collecting the orb that said "Light up the darkness", and I couldn't find anything else to do because of it.

However, I really like the concept of a platformer RPG. Maybe even a metroidvania with the upgrades? The graphics were fitting and great looking, and I loved that there was a lot of variety in the music. Well done!

Happy Hammer by TheLucky 2018-05-01T05:01:50Z

My favorite thing was the green bubble that launches you horizontally. That was very satisfying! Well done!

Think Before Escape by acoto87 2018-04-25T01:33:55Z

Super cool take on the theme. Turn-based real-time? Perfect!

The Veil by Nehvis 2018-04-25T02:16:45Z

Nice work, you made me NOPE in the middle of the game and I closed it. Too spoopy for me. But that just means the mood and feel of the game was spot on. Well done!

Happy Harvest by Ziamor 2018-04-24T05:51:16Z

A bit easy, but its super well made. Love the graphics and how the flashlight reveals the monsters.

Crux Swarm by MarkoPoloDev 2018-04-30T04:11:23Z

Really fun game! I like the way the tower defense aspect of the game worked, although I wish tower placement was a little more critical to winning. But I had a great time just exploring. I liked the visuals, the blue scheme was very pleasing.

Dancemazing by MariosManiatis 2018-04-28T07:41:27Z

This maze gave me a real The Witness vibe. First time seeing the monster was 2spoopy4me!

F.P.S - Frootz per Second by Albuquerque 2018-04-25T03:39:24Z

Love the humor and little details. Like those fruit loops falling all over the place? Nice touch. :)

Puzzle Prizon by Walter Mays 2018-04-30T03:43:36Z

Maybe consider locking the player's movement to the grid. This might reduce the level of precision someone needs to push some blocks and not others. But this was a fun game! I loved how intuitive it was. The only piece of information I needed was that I could move with WASD. All else was told to me through the design of the game, which is awesome. Good work!

Falling Labyrinth by LarrySeinfeld 2018-04-24T05:35:08Z

That was the most unique game I have played so far. The mechanic of building the dungeon Tetris style blows my mind. Super cool!

Erglow by benbusby 2018-04-27T07:05:35Z

Web version is SUPER sped up, which made the platforming extremely difficult. But the Windows version was fine, glad I switched because the narration was hilarious. I legitimately laughed. Well done!

Erglow by benbusby 2018-04-28T00:43:40Z

@benbusby I just tried the latest version following your link on itch.io on both Chrome (Version 65.0.3325.181 64-bit) and on FireFox (Version 59.0.2 64-bit) and both have the game speed higher than than of the Windows version.

My hunch is that this is due to a framerate issue? Maybe my framerate is higher on Web than on Windows, and the character (and other moving things) update positions every frame, without taking into account the time *between* frames. Not sure though!

Still, I want to reiterate that I enjoyed the game very much! Don't mean to nitpick.

Wordslide by TravisChen 2018-04-25T03:55:48Z

Looks really pretty and well polished!

Avenue Zed by kohqctps 2018-04-27T06:28:26Z

That was really fun! The two genres blended well into something refreshing and unique. And while the visuals were simplistic, they worked really well together.

00Boyfriend - A Spy's Dating Sim by SamStallion 2018-04-27T02:38:32Z

Super awesome! I wish answering phone's prompts were more meaningful rather than just pressing a button. Maybe you all were to improve on the game, you'd have to keep your facts straight. Like if you contradict yourself across prompts by saying "I don't like pets" and "I have a dog", then maybe the person behind the phone might grow suspicious or distant.

But apart from that, the game played super well. You all put in a lot of effort and it payed off. I am a fan of all the polish. From the way the phone bounces back and forth to the way the enemy's blood drops bounce. Really good game feel! You should be proud!

Jet Boy by Harry Light 2018-04-25T03:50:15Z

Really good game feel. The polish ties it well together. Pretty difficult, pretty fun!

Painting the Black by Abraxas Interactive 2018-04-30T04:20:21Z

I like the game idea! These kinds of abstract games can be very interesting and fun to play. You're right, its actually a difficult game. Those fast balls are treacherous. Felt good accomplishment after even getting just 1 point after so many tries. Great job!
