Loved that you included the dev haxx in the tutorial. Really polished!

Amazing! I really loved playing this. The music is really catchy and the levels are challenging yet fun.
Nice work in on the controls. For a platformer like this the controls need to be really tight and the main character played well. Good job!
That's really amazing game, man. Excellent platformer control and awesome idea
What a nice game!
Very beautiful game! It'so well polished: animations, sound effects, screen shake, everything very well done.
I have only a few criticisms and they are kind of subjective: one of my biggest fears when I read the theme was making a game that fit the theme very well, but that wasn't much fun for most players, like these "while (true)" games. The mechanic of going back to a previous position in time is nice and fits the theme very well, but I didn't find it very fun, perhaps due to the lack of control. Several times I had already used up the shift power and the yellow bar would be over half, making any further movement useless, so I just stand still waiting for the cycle to end, which is not much fun. I think I would enjoy more if I had more control.
Another little detail is that the difference between a low jump and a high jump is very small, and sometimes, when there are segments with spikes on the ceiling, for example, it would be nice to have the option of making small jumps.
On my last two compos I made platform games as well, and I always do poorly on the polishing and audio parts, so your game is a big inspiration to me, especially on those aspects. Nice job!
Great entry! I like it very much. The soundtrack is nice and makes the right upbeat mood. The visuals are enough to convey the character, setting and suits the genre well. Gameplay is very clear. The loop mechanic is interesting though, but lacks somethings, maybe depth, but is okay to make a game without depth in a game jam.
Moreover you don't need to make a checkpoint system with this mechanic! :)
@eduardo-yukio those are completely fair criticisms, and frankly I agree with you. In my mind's eye I imagined the player having to interact with other things or dodge hazards in those cycles where they are just waiting, but I had to scope down some elements and level design - I barely completed the game by the deadline. Phew. Thanks for trying out the game!
Such a great game. The idea was great and the controls worked perfectly. One of the best games I played so far, congratulations.
@dmitry-mozgin Indeed there's a level of depth that I was aiming for that I didn't quite get to due to time constraints. Particularly, most things in the game are not affected by the cycles; mostly it's just you. I envisioned more objects looping and switching between looping and not looping to make things more interesting. Oh well. Thanks for playing!
Woo! I made it out of the ruins! Really cool concept, and wonderfully executed. I'm also really enjoying the purple / yellow color palette! The music was cool too! Great work.
Really good game! The mechanic was really cool, and it had some great puzzles that explored some of it's possibilities. I also feel that this was really polished and had a great deal of work into making the game easy to understand, such as the color coding on things that carry from loop to loop. The game also felt juicy and polished so overall the game was very enjoyable.
Interesting platform game
I like it mechanic
Good game! Fits the theme really well. Everything works smoothly, and the puzzles are challenging :) Love the graphics and music! Good job!
✔️ I really liked how the music changed when you were in the different modes, it was a nice touch.
✔️ The level design was quite good as well, the difficulty curve was nicely crafted.
➖ I think there could have been a bit more feedback for right before you change modes.
Fun puzzle game. I really liked the machanic of basically putting down my own savepoints.
this is a really cool game, the mechanics are awesome and i had a lot of fun. good work!
Look at me I'm swiping like crazy!
Wow, this game is really nice! - The audio is excellent! - The graphism is minimalist but really well done. - And there are some difficulties as I like it.
** Good job. **
Just one bug saw : The arrow from the top was never launched.
I'll be honest with you, I spent an inordinate amount of time on the title screen making the protagonist dance to the music. It's very catchy. Also, the game's good. Great use of theme, very mechanically sound and really polished. Excellent.
Excelent level design, very good entry!
I love the music, and the way it syncs up to the reset timer! That's the highlight of an already great entry. The concept is great, it's well-executed, and the game has an impressive runtime for such a short jam.
Awesome graphics and catchy sound track!
The controls are snappy and on point. You even included coyote time I see :D
The game reminds me of Celeste, both in aesthetics/graphic scheme as in gameplay. - in the best way! The core mechanic is a well executed and playable interpretation of the theme (especially since its includes possible deaths!)
What could be improved: - The explaination of the doors/switches. I am still not sure if the colors matter / match to the colors of the (looped) player? Sometimes the loop seems to reset the doors, sometimes not. This was the part I did not get fully.
- And the spikes: if they kill you when you run onto the side - they should have some smaller spikes on the side. If they are only "spikey" on top, it is unexpected to be killed like this: chronic curse1.PNG
All in all possibly one of the best entries <3
@games-by-tom Thanks for the detailed review. I'm surprised you noticed the coyote time, you got a keen eye! :) And you're not the first person to mention Celeste to me. It's my favorite game of all time. I wasn't really going for a Celeste vibe but I can definitely see it now after people mentioned it. Your criticisms are valid. In particular I tried to show that everything purple does not loop while yellow objects do through the level design but I didn't have much time left in the jam to do it quite clearly. Oh well, maybe next time. Thanks for playing my game!
very cool game i loved the music
jumping was smooth af
but i dont know that i have key or not
Very well done! And quite a few stages actually. I didn't fully grasp the respawn concept, and the last jump in the last stage took me a few tries :)
The idea is good, however the cycle is too short in my opinion.
The cycle mechainic was an interesting idea. But i wish that it was explored more. It felt a bit frustrating starting over again and I often found myself waiting to be able to break the cycle again. Maybe you could have added puzzles where you need to use the mechanic in different ways. I loved the way the music changes when you break the cycle and the movement felt great. Overall a really good game!
Nice game, I enjoyed it and the platformer controls where nice and responsive. The music was good and the keys that stayed with you when you first picked it up even when you reset is a good mechanic.
Very fun, highly unique, and exceptionally polished platformer. I do wish that some of the mechanics were elaborated on more clearly. It took me a while to realize that I have to wait until the end of a loop to set my respawn location, and some of the levels were a bit frustrating in design, but this is still a really good game.
Control feels great. Very creative of of using the idea of looping. Interesting that invincibility after respawn is used as a puzzle solving feature.
Wow that was fun. good use of color pallet, nice sprites and tilemaps, I LOVED the transitioning soundtrack, thanks for sharing the source. good job
Yep... that's a five star entry.
I really don't have much to say for criticism. I got through the entire game and, while its core mechanics _can_ be frustrating, I wouldn't stoop to calling them unfair. Having to recharge your cycle break was an interesting way to balance the feature out, as it would force me to wait a cycle before trying certain jumps again. I found it interesting how you managed to balance out the feeling of fighting against the cycle and using it to your advantage, and the levels were a good mix of carefully curated frustration and some great platforming segments.
As some others have said, props for the music. Having a dynamic score added a lot to the loop feeling, especially when it comes to feedback. It helps that the track was actually nice to listen to, of course.
I will say that the looping mechanic confused me at first-- I had the idea that dying during the loop was acceptable, but that dying after breaking the cycle had to be this measured risk because dying outside the cycle would leave you dead permanently. I was rather disappointed when my character hopped back up in place as I felt that this additional caution outside of the looping mechanic was a nice twist, though I understand why it was done for the sake of the player. It may be something to keep in mind.
Unfortunately I'm just not going to be able to provide much in terms of critical feedback. This was excellent.
@anchorlight I never even considered the idea of how dying while the cycle is broken could have been dangerous and caused you to permanently die. Dang, I think that's _such a good idea_! It would have been super interesting to explore. That's really good feedback. Thank you for playing!
Best game I have played so far!
Good idea and really nice game, especially when taking in account the short time and that it was made by one def!
