LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Deep Blue by Imphenzia 2021-04-28T13:22:23Z

Beautiful graphics, animation and awesome music. I really like it :)

This is my first game jam ever and I must admit to you @imphenzia were a big inspiration for me to finally take part in such event. I recently watched lots of your videos (mostly 10-minute modelling challanges and videos about previous LD editions). Thank you for that, because it was a super adventure for me!

I would be more than happy if you could check out my game and leave a comment. Cheers!

Well Down by CamCam 2021-04-26T19:23:42Z

When I click the link I get a message "A password is required to view this page"

Doctor Shrink by Flaterectomy 2021-04-27T13:32:21Z

Very funny concept. I like the graphics, audio and the humor. I would just add a possibility to disable this distortion shader/effect because it does something weird with my eyes ;P

Fish Slapping Simulator 2021 by chriiis88 2021-04-25T22:43:18Z

LOL :D Funny

Just Fishin' by Antti Haavikko 2021-04-27T18:16:24Z

One of the best games I played this jam. At first I almost gave up because I didn't understand how to open the shop menu. Finally I figured it out. Then I had "just one more fish" syndrome :) Graphics are minimalistic but cute - especially the dogs :D . Now I'm watchin my slave dogs doing all the hard work for me. The game has potential for further developement. The bug with traps also occurs when you try to buy multiple traps at once. Anyway, congratulations. Great job!.

Geocnetric Go! by appix 2021-04-26T07:35:39Z

LOL screaming to computer feels so weird and funny (especially if someone is listening ;) ) Original idea. I also like the graphics.

Rock Troll Loo by Flightless 2021-04-29T14:03:23Z

@ciyoulater it works for me but I had to wait longer than in other games.

The game is quite fun! Nice idea and execution

Rock Troll Loo by Flightless 2021-04-29T14:54:49Z

@flightless I just wanted to add that it's nice you managed to implement high scores system. It's a rarely seen feature in jam games. I wanted to implement it too in my game (https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/48/nail-it) but I ran out of time. Next time time I will prepare the backed earlier  I've seen you used php backend which is probably to most popular way to do it for free. I have a suggestion for you regarding security. Right now it's easy to upload fake scores. Easy way to make is more secure is to send an additional parameter with a checksum. This checksum should be calculated based on the score, player name and some secret password hardcoded into the game. This password should also be hardcoded on backend side. Backend then calculates it's own checksum based on incoming score and username and compares it with the received checksum - if it's different it means someone is cheating.

Oh, and make sure you don't expose this secret password anywhere  Probably it would be best to store it in a separate file which is not pushed to code repository. Hope this helps

Cave Runner by Sir. Syko 2021-04-26T06:58:49Z

I like the bullet-time obstacle dodging :)

Colored Roots by PlusMinus 2021-04-26T08:30:57Z

Really good puzzle game. It has potential. Difficult at times but not too difficult. I really like the drawing mechanics - it feels good. After some polishing this could be a great title (also for mobile devices). I also like the music. Suggestion: the "Next" level button could be placed in better location. Now it's a bit too far from the game area and it feels awkward to me. I would show it somewhere in the center of the play area after level is finished.

Welcome to the Factory by epb9000 2021-04-26T06:55:31Z

Some of the sound effects are "poping" and are distorted (tested on WebGL version). Unfotunetely disabling sound effects also disables the music. The music itself suits very well to the whole game and it's makes this game vary calming.

Dwarf Bros by Kurama_Youko 2021-04-25T22:11:42Z

Yup, the link seems broken :(

UnderwOtter by pixelbug 2021-04-26T09:16:25Z

Great game. Difficulty is very well balanced. The swimming mechanics are exciting (especially when swimming for the last "secret"). The "15$" at the end made me laugh :) Good work!

Dig It! by Rusty Bailey 2021-04-28T13:39:49Z

Very pleasant game. Good work!

The Life Aquatic by Cary Stanley 2021-04-25T22:34:16Z

Cool game :) Voice acting makes me smile. I managed to find 8 out of 10 "increible specimens" :)

Screw it by Jasuse 2021-04-27T13:10:29Z

I love the visuals and the audio of the game! 5/5 Everything is so coherent and fits together.

BTW I had similar interpretation of the "Deeper and deeper" theme. Even the game title is similar :) You can check it out if you haven't yet :) https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/48/nail-it

Scatter Gold by Sthealthinator 2021-04-25T22:59:51Z

Root Deeper by BrielleY 2021-04-26T08:52:21Z

Very pleasant to play. It could use some calm background music or ambient sounds. Somewhere around day 19 I totally stopped receiving CO2. Not sure if it was a bug but it felt like one.

Root Deeper by BrielleY 2021-04-26T10:16:58Z

@brielley I tried again and this time I recorded my attempt to be able to analyze it :) This time I was out of water at day 23. I had following situation: root_deeper.png

Technically I could just go to "Next Day" and it should be fine (I had enough water and energy for one day)... but I clicked "Generate Energy" and it generated 10 energy and cosumed 10 water units. I left with 6 water and died :)

Maybe the "Generate Energy" should work in a bit different way? It wasn't obvious for me that 10 water units will be used. Or maybe having 2 separate buttons would be better (to generate +1 or +10 energy)?

Root Deeper by BrielleY 2021-04-26T12:38:00Z

@brielley it's also my first game jam but according to the rules you can fix bugs after deadline: *"Certain Bug Fixes are allowed. You can’t add new features, but if something broke or didn’t work correctly as you were finishing up, you can fix this after the deadline. You are asked to highlight the changes you make in your submission (a short change log)"*

Bucket Hat by Edur 2021-04-29T10:38:05Z

Cool idea and great execution. Very creative.

Some audio would be nice but it's also my first jam and I perfectly understand it's hard to implement everything what was planned.

Keep up the good work and see you on Ludum Dare 49

Nail-it! by owca 2021-04-26T07:05:59Z

Thanks guys for all the comments. This is my first game jam ever, so I wanted to keep the core mechanics simple and polish the game as much I could.

@jamr I played this game for more than a "few minutes" and I wasn't even close to your highscore :P

Nail-it! by owca 2021-04-27T18:25:26Z

@judgeclark haha :D that's why I didn't use the default font (anti-cheat system :wink: )

@jasuse thanks, actually I did left/right arrows on purpose so it's not that easy. Sorry I was frustrating to you. You can also use A/D key or even A and right arrow if you prefer using both hands.

@runuchok that's cheating :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Nail-it! by owca 2021-04-30T07:03:03Z

@eharp Thanks for your feedback! You're right. I didn't explain it anywhere. The combo starts (and continues) when you hit a nail before cartain amount of time passes from the previous hit. I think I set it to 300ms. So if you hit 1 nail per 300ms (or faster) then you build up the combo meter. After exceeding this 300ms time the combo counter resets.

Nail-it! by owca 2021-04-30T21:30:46Z

@slowfrog-again Holy sh*t! Nice score! My record is only ~ 105k.

Actually I didn't vote for anything, and I didn't have any idea for a game until the theme was announced. But you're right that this game would fit perfectly for "You have one tool"

I tried to look at the theme from different perspectives. The obvious one is word "Deeper" (because nails go deeper when you hit them). The less obvious interpretation is that "Deeper and deeper" phrase contains a *repetition*. So the game is about a *repetitive* action.

Deep Old Files by LightSn0w 2021-04-26T06:45:33Z

A bit short, but very original concept. Good work! :)

Piranha Drama by JudgeClark 2021-04-29T20:04:55Z

first game in the jam that made me laugh out loud  Nice one!

LD49 — Unstable

Portal Town Rescue by Archimagus 2021-10-05T18:39:59Z

Nice job! I like it.

Unstable Concoction by theviraldragon 2021-10-04T10:05:53Z

@theviraldragon I noticed you commented [my game](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/49/unstable-potions) You're right we had very similar concept, but the execution is very different. I like your graphical style, mixing-minigame and concept of experimenting.

Unstable Towers by mrnannings 2021-10-04T10:38:51Z

Simple, but fun and addicting. I have some suggestions - resetting game after failing could be quicker or instant - each piece could have its mass proportional to it's size so the behaviour would be more predictible (e.g. now small 1x1 block behaves same as 2x2 or 1x4)

Unstable Stick by joewan 2021-10-04T18:43:21Z

I died 200 times in under 15 minutes. Good game :)

Garbostackers by Runuchok 2021-10-07T12:24:47Z

nice one! cool graphics and machanic

CandleLight by PaulLyaudet 2021-10-05T17:32:38Z

Just amazing! I usually play&rate only web games but I couldn't resist myself after seeing this short video. This is one of the best games on this jam. It's so polished that I wouldn't be suprised if I saw it on Steam. Really great job guys!

Edit: btw this is first time I rated a game 5/5 in all categories!

Crystallizator by XCVZXC 2021-10-04T11:59:50Z

Very engaging game  Before I got first upgrade it was a bit dull, but then the fun part started. The music is great and also the overall style of the game. Some suggestions: - xp needed for first upgrades could be lower to engage player quicker - some sound effects for the lasers would be nice (e.g. pulsating sound implemented as a separate layer synced with music and toggled when the laser is firing)

Naugthty Button by wvagen 2021-10-05T17:00:22Z

Nice one! :D

A Frog's Life T_T by MayChant 2021-10-04T12:34:19Z

Cool game. Quite difficult for me. Nice graphics and cheerful music :)

Badly Designed Cargo Delivery Pad by jka 2021-10-04T20:32:45Z

Very cool idea. I like the controls - easy to learn, hard to master.

Unhitched Isles by MickM 2021-10-05T13:21:26Z

Very original and fun game. Good job!

(and thanks for using my highscore service )

Don't Melt by OwlyCode 2021-10-04T12:20:46Z

I was confused a bit at the beginning, but after few tries it became very satisfying and a bit stressful. I like the clicky sound of the controls and the "At least it didn't blew up" screen

Dominion by Shootboots 2021-10-04T09:22:45Z

Fun game

Maybe you could copy the description from itch.io page here to LD page. Like some other people I also didn't scroll down to the bottom and at first I was frustrated a bit about the controls and abilities.

Kingdom of Chaos by AXLplosion 2021-10-05T18:45:24Z

I don't understand it but I like it :D

Unstable Cubes by Lenan 2021-10-06T12:35:00Z

I had a lot fun playing this game. I wish there was more levels :)

Music is great. I also liked the level design and first of all this clever movement mechanic and how you used it while desining the levels. Great job!

Unstable Potions by Wubbl 2021-10-05T12:59:11Z

I love the ingredients descriptions and overall humor 5/5  Visuals and audio are also very nice. The game is quite hard for me.

BTW I made a COMPO game also called [**Unstable Potions**](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/49/unstable-potions) :) but the mechanics are totally different. Please consider checking it out rating it if you haven't yet

Edit: I also suggest you guys to port it to WebGL version (in Unity it shouldn't be any problem). You should get more ratings that way because some people don't rate non-web games. I usually don't but this time I was very courious how you approached the topic of potions :)

Pile Up Medieval by zimny11 2021-10-04T10:27:48Z

Fun game. I wasn't expecting the dragon  I noticed that randomly spamming building gives me better results than planning where to put everything

Jumpy Train! by Szkocka 2021-10-05T16:28:27Z

Cool. I especially liked the ending  Regards to your girlfriend - a supporting girl/wife is a real treasure

Choppy Rescue by Guisado 2021-10-04T09:46:44Z

After few attempts I finally picked up some people... and crashed 2 meters from the helipad. They would be safer without me trying to save them . Nice game.

Bob's Underworld by chesschaser 2021-10-05T15:34:18Z

Very nice game  I liked that you added different enemy types. Also the controls are very good and responsive

TECHNUCLEAR by TheGreenWorm 2021-10-04T09:34:30Z

Very nice game - especially the audio.

Unstable POTions by owca 2021-10-04T11:01:53Z

Wow! Thank guys for all the feedback! I'm a bit suprised that the game turned out so difficult. It could definately use some difficulty balancing but I was out of time. The [previous jam](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/48/nail-it) was a piece of cake comparing this one. I was working until the last minutes to finish as much as I could.

@erikengineengineer I must admit that Overcooked was one of my inspirations

@romfactory Exploding customers was next point on my TODO list before I ran out of time

@mborecki I will consider renaming the game

@pinkemma thanks for noticing that - one of the reasons for adding bottle-marks was for players with color-blindness

@zimny11 thanks for noticing the music. It was one of my personal chellanges after last jam.

Unstable POTions by owca 2021-10-04T16:58:37Z

@mrnannings Yep, it's probably because I didn't implement a proper tutorial. The mixture in a pot can explodes in 2 situations - if you put more than 3 ingredients into a single pot or if the mixture starts to boil (boiling sound + multicolor steam) and you dont stir it within 5 seconds.

Unstable POTions by owca 2021-10-10T17:56:48Z

@purrseus thanks for playing my game and for your valuable feedback. I totally agree that scoring system is unclear. I'm not sure myself how much points you get for each potions without looking at the code  Regarding understanding the rules it's probably because of lack of a proper tutorial. I noted those 2 topics on my "lessons learned" notes and I will try to focus on them next time.

@runuchok I must say I feel like an idiot right now :face_palm: I've added those symbols with color-blindess in mind but for some reason i didn't thought about the final potions. I will keep that in mind. Thanks for your feedback

The difficult life of a newborn planet by Saltysa 2021-10-05T16:53:38Z

For me it's one of the best games on this jam so far! - Music 6/5 (+1 for using a real guitar ) - Graphics 5/5 (very esthetic) - Mood 5/5 (very positive and calming)

I'm guessing you will be in top 10 in some categories! :fingers_crossed:

Unstable Aviation by IcedJaM 2021-10-04T18:21:38Z

One of most fun-to-play games so far for me. It proves that you don't have to spend hours to write complex shaders to make a good game. Also a nice and fresh approach to a classical asteroids-type game. Good job!

Twin Tails Jetpack by ExpiredPopsicle 2021-10-05T15:46:43Z

Piggy Pileup by candlesan 2022-04-06T15:47:18Z

I'm not a big fan of word games becuse I suck at them, but this was fun. Very polished and complete game

Friendly Corp by kamikaziuk 2022-04-04T18:39:27Z

Haha! The creatures are so cute! The mouse sensitivity could be a bit lower (I played WebGL version), but it's a very fun litte game anyway.

Grandma by smiley 2022-04-04T10:03:08Z

Nice. I like the music.

Don't Melt by maxr00 2022-04-04T18:45:07Z

Very nice, precise controls. The art style is also nice.

TOWERVATCH by mmemim 2022-04-07T11:14:47Z

OMG! This is awesome! Great idea and great execution. Definately the best entry I played so far. You should show it to Blizzard

Great humor (Windowlicker ) and attention to detail (recreating Hanamura)!

DeadFlame by Conroy 2022-04-08T14:47:32Z

Shooting zombies and chopping wood was a suprising combination for me :) The game could use some polishing (like most jam games :D ) but it was fun. Thanks!

Unhoarded by Andreas Roschal 2022-04-09T07:40:40Z

This is one of my favourite games so far. Really well done! The upgrade system is also great - it makes me want to play again and again :) Congrats!

Wipeout by TheMoonrise 2022-04-07T10:39:36Z

Nice :) Relaxing and stressful at the same time  At the begining the controls felt a bit laggy, but after few tries I got used to them and was able to play for longer time :surfer:

SOS Earth by poisondart00 2022-04-04T17:44:42Z

I like the art style. I played it for a while and I feel that the research costs are too high. I survived over 500 years and I wasn't able to buy most of them (maybe I did something wrong).

One UI/UX tip from me: Sliders would work better than input fields. Adjusting one value would proportionally change all the others.

One more thing - how did you make this starry skybox? I like it and I was wondering if there is a tool or generator for that.

I.P.A.D by JGUR 2022-04-04T08:30:47Z

Fun game. At first it seems very simple but the upgrade system adds some depth to it. I found one issue though - if you have turrets underneath the upgrade button you cannot upgrade other turrets because the one below it automatically selected.

Model-5C by William Corrin 2022-04-08T10:28:32Z

Cool game! :) I like the character and level design, audio and the overall mood. The camera controller could be improved a bit, but it wasn't a big issue for me. It was really fun to play this little adventure :)

Estrella by Xiris 2022-04-07T15:37:32Z

Cool art style. It's one of the most polished games I've seen so far this jam

They Are Coming by PeaNud 2022-04-07T17:17:01Z

Very fun game. I like the art style, level design and dashing mechanics. I only wish that mouse sensivity settings were saved in PlayerPrefs so I don't need to adjust them every time.

One question - how did you solve the issue of preventing player hands and weapon intersecting with the environment? I saw that usually it's done by rendering them on separate camera, but WebGL doesn't support that (at least it didn't work for my game). I ended up using additional render pass to do that but maybe there is a better/easier way to do that.

They Are Coming by PeaNud 2022-04-08T06:46:34Z

@walnut thanks for the info! Can you tell me which version of unity you used?

Heal me, please! by Andrey_Zhukov 2022-04-07T13:54:34Z

I love the art style!

Heal me, please! by Andrey_Zhukov 2022-04-07T15:06:30Z

@andrey-zhukov I stopped after 18 cured villigers without losing any heart. After few tries the game becomes pretty easy.

The Endless Night by Arivenzys 2022-04-07T19:09:10Z

Wow, really fun and polished!

Walterfall by Ulisses 2022-04-05T12:52:55Z

Nice game. I like the art style and the controls. The sound of falling items gets a bit annoying after a while.

Sandwich Drop by Renge 2022-04-07T16:34:08Z

Jimmy looks suspiciously familiar... like all my game characters when I start new unity project :D (even in this jam) I liked the humor and also the lighting of the levels. The controls could be more precise - I had some problems with the obstacle course. Nevertheless, it was fun - thanks :D

Sandwich Drop by Renge 2022-04-08T14:19:10Z

@renge I was thinking about adjusting gravity when falling so it's more "snappy". But I just played the game again I noticed something weird - this time I could control the camera :) When I played for the first time the camera was fixed in one position and I thought this is how it supposed to be :P Now when the camera is working it's much easier to move exactly where I want :)

Mouse sensitivity is way too high, so an option to adjust it would be nice (sensitivity in WebGL is by default 2x larger than in unity editor).

Regards to Jimmy! :D

Global Eggstermination by owca 2022-04-04T22:00:24Z

Thanks guys for all the feedback! I really appreciate it.

@achasm Thanks! I added the black robot at the very end before the deadline and did't have time to balance it correctly. They should definately spawn intependently from the other robots.

@guillem-serra I tottaly agree with you. I even added some footsteps to the robots but they're to quiet (especially with music turned on). I'm not good at sound designing and I definately need to practice before LD51 :) Regarding the black robot, I started creating it in panic mode 1h before the deadline so it's not very polished and there is too few of them spawning. I was hoping they will make the gameplay better but I think it didn't make any difference :(

@loligxp Thanks, I've put a ton of work in the modelling (and probably that's why the gameplay it's not the best ;) ). Regarding FOV I didn't noticed that before but now I see it and it annoys me too :P

@brettschiff Wow, thanks! I think if I would have 1 more day this would be a much better game, but I don't know if I would survive one more day :D It was very intesnse time and today I woke up feeling like a zombie :D

@mook Haha, thanks. I appreciate you noticed the music track. I'm not good at this and I spent a lot of time on making it. I know it's not perfect but if you don't focus on it too much it fits quite nicely :P

@mekuri Thanks. I also noticed that issue a few times but only in WebGL version (in editor it didn't occur). Probably a CPU spike caused by garbage collection. I'm happy that web version is playable at all because WebGL has a lot of limitations :D

Global Eggstermination by owca 2022-04-04T22:36:44Z

@mikoziq Thanks for great feedback. I 100% agree with all the cons :)

Global Eggstermination by owca 2022-04-05T07:12:39Z

@christian-zommerfelds Wow, thanks for the feedback. I'm really glad you like it! :) Yes, I did the music myself. I recored several guitar parts and then arranged some of them in Cakewalk (free DAW). I also used some free VST instruments and plugins.

I'm happy you liked the graphics - it was the most time consuming part.

There is an auto-reload feature after you stop shooting for 1 second. It was easier and faster for me to do that, but now I agree that manual reload would be better - it would give more controll to the player.

Global Eggstermination by owca 2022-04-05T13:23:35Z

Hi guys! After getting your feedback, today morning I decided to polish my game a bit. I've just added a link to the post-jam version and added a changelog so you can see what was changed. You can try it if you want. I will be grateful for any additional feedback.

Once again thanks for playing my game and for all the comments

Global Eggstermination by owca 2022-04-05T15:52:42Z

@loligxp Nice score! I just tried several times but I wasn't even close to 40k.

Global Eggstermination by owca 2022-04-07T15:17:17Z

@andrey-zhukov Thanks for playing my game. The leaderboard is definately not a fake :) After my first Ludum Dare (48) I decided that I need a leaderboard for my future games, so I created a leaderboard service specially for LD. I already used it in LD49 and now. It's totally free so you can use it next time if you want (it's very easy to integrate in with unity). Here is a post about this from LD49: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/49/unstable-potions/free-online-highscore-service-for-jamers (i forgot to re-post it before LD50 :(

Global Eggstermination by owca 2022-04-08T10:33:12Z

@william-corrin Thank you very much for playing my game and for the feedback. I really appreciate it! I also played & rated your game - it was really fun! Good work!

@togis thanks for playing my game on stream! it was super-fun to watch it! :D

a by mdnr 2022-04-04T09:31:10Z

Veeery addicting! Nice audio. At the beginning it was quite hard, but after figuring out how each upgrade works it was easier.

Great Escape by Martinek 2022-04-08T12:02:48Z

The game is so adorable! I kept smiling all the time. Audio fits perfectly! Really great job.

Just WOW! :bomb:

Debt Train (card construction game) by Christian Zommerfelds 2022-04-06T15:30:36Z

Very nice controls and UI. Everything is clear and intuitive  Regarding the balance I have a theory - since everyone is expecting to bankrupt soon, maybe the game itself (not the player) is delaying the inevitable

Hold The Line by Griggy 2022-04-08T20:45:38Z

very nice game! I didn't realise that classic rock-paper-scissore can be that fun. I think it could be quite easily turned into a good mobile game. Good job!

plant. by badcop 2022-04-06T15:54:13Z

Very peaceful, and relaxing. I only wish I could turn the plant around to better see what i'm cutting.

Reactor Guy by GummiBot 2022-04-04T18:26:06Z

Haha, same like my predecessor - I was constantly trying to run with shift key  For me the animations could be a bit faster but maybe that was part of the design. I played it several times and it was fun. Congrats on your first LD game :tada:

Dino Escape by Nima 2022-04-04T22:20:36Z

I enjoyed playing it. Especially after the game was over - then it turned into a zen shooter - just hold the mouse button and watch everything explodes :D

I had one issue with the UI when playing fullscreen (2560x1440). It's better to anchor the side UI elements to border of the canvas instead of the center (deafult).

Blitz : invasion by musaspacecadet 2022-04-04T17:16:59Z

Nice art style. I like the particle effects.

Jelly Strike: Tower Offensive by DaNaiX 2022-04-04T18:09:36Z

Interesting game :) How did you achieve the "jellyness" of the objects? Is it a custom vertex shader or is it physics-based?

LD51 — Every 10 seconds

Gigabite by CocaPasteque 2022-10-05T08:43:29Z

Best UI I ever seen so far! The art style is great. Overall a solid game. Sometimes I had issues with grabbing smaller items. Maybe adding some highlight when you hover over an item (bodypart :smiling_imp: ) would improve the experience a bit.

ShortDay Survive by rayriver 2022-10-07T11:07:48Z

This was super fun to play! One could say that it's just another game when you fight waves of enemies but what you did with limiting controls to movement-only changes everything.

Adding the upgrade system adds another layer of interest to the game. I also appreciate that when you select upgrades the game is paused. This alternates the pacing and the player is not forced to be constantly fully focused.

I also liked the level and enemies design. Those charging "bulls"(?) constantly force you to think where to go and the rocks and trees gives you cover. One without the other wouldn't have much sense. This is simple but great design.

Really good job!

TENSEC tactics by praleks 2022-10-03T20:53:14Z

Cool idea and graphics. Adding some audio would improve overall experience.

Cook'n'Slash! by Nikolay Zapolnov 2022-10-05T13:55:37Z

I love the general idea of the game, but the controls were to difficult for me. I also like the graphics, audio and humor :)

☕️ OverBrewed ! by Tyrannas 2022-10-04T21:23:22Z

Tiny Jukebox by bobo_oh 2022-10-05T09:50:50Z

Super fun. Really well executed!

The Sandwicher by Antti Haavikko 2022-10-04T17:40:04Z

This game is awesome! Very polished! After few tries I scored ~407k (2nd place). I was super fun. The humor and visual style is great. One of the best games this jam so far.

10 Second Laps by albertnez 2022-10-05T13:40:32Z

Very impressive. So simple but so clever. Best interpretation of the theme I saw so far. Congrats! :timer:

Dungeon Rusher by PoshDan 2022-10-17T11:15:16Z

Wow! This is one of most innovative concepts I saw this jam. Obviously the game needs some polishing, but the core idea is just great. Congrats!

[WebGL/HTML5] Music Demon by leorid 2022-10-05T08:06:49Z

Wow! Just awesome. Very interesting mechanics. Superb music and cool, clean art style. I really enjoyed it!

Bug Zapper by Diego Escalante 2022-10-03T15:42:09Z

The difficulty is a bit random across the waves but overall it's a nice idea for a game. I like the graphics and the ambient sounds (birds, barking dog etc.) - it adds to the mood.

Lava Crossing by GibsS 2022-10-04T10:38:03Z

I like it  Cool idea. The chilling music nicely contrasts with stressful gameplay and creates a unique experience.

A simple distance tracker would be nice.

Did you use Perlin noise to generate the level?

TOOT TOOT by Quackqack 2022-10-05T11:00:31Z

Very original idea. Also very satysfying when you play a sequence of right notes at the right time (but it's quite hard)

Cursed Kingdom by Majadroid 2022-10-04T13:10:09Z

This is the best game I played this jam so far! I really liked it. The difficulty level was perfect for me (not too easy and not to difficult). I finished all the puzzles and it was satisfying! Audio and visuals are great! Congrats!

Egg Salad by wheelsx 2022-10-06T14:11:41Z

...and now I'm hungry.

Alchemist vs Werewolves by St1ckY 2022-10-05T07:17:36Z

I really like the art style and idea of this game, but I think it would be much easier to use mouse buttons instead R and T keys (which is hard to press when you walk using WASD).

#1 Button Presser by Jvdwijk 2022-10-04T09:15:12Z

Really cool idea and good humor

Orzeł by NoelOskar 2022-10-04T17:09:38Z

Haha! Zajebiste! :flag_pl: Simple but really fun game. Usually platformers are too hard for me but this one was perfectly balanced and I was able to complete it (but it was a challange).

Tower of Time 2 by CodeRaurus 2022-10-03T16:34:06Z

For me it was a bit too difficult. I stucked after a few levels. I really like the general idea of the game and that the time passes only when you move. Good game!

Needy Pixel Kitties by Aaron Smith 2022-10-05T10:37:59Z

Really cute game. I love the tutorial :D

Roadeo by Krzyhau 2022-10-04T09:27:35Z

Modern Post by Holy_Doggo01 2022-10-04T17:54:54Z

Nice and polished game. It was quite difficult for me. Sometimes the drag and drop didn't work for me (but maybe it's just me being bad at such games)

Very simple. Very addicting. Well done!

Exp10sion by lynnezzzy 2022-10-05T14:22:56Z

Cool idea and execution. Very clever puzzles! I enjoyed it a lot.

On one of the levels (where the floor is almost fully made of spikes and you toggle 3 platforms) I discovered that you can jump over the spikes and ignore the puzzle part enirely. You just need to jump sligtly before you touch the spikes (probably ground-check fires before player touches the spike collider)

10 planet of the Alos system by Fedir 2022-10-04T20:55:41Z

I agree to all what predecessors said. The game needs some tweaking to be more enjoyable. Still, it looks quite nice - especially for a first ludum dare entry. Keep it up :)

Feed the Deep by Matt Green 2022-10-06T08:11:20Z

For me It was too difficult, but I really like the idea of this game. You used the theme very well. I like the sound effects - they add humor to the game. I think it's a good foundation for a mobile game.

Shopping spree by Khullag 2022-10-05T08:20:43Z

Cool idea and execution but the game was a bit too difficult for me. But I discovered an alternative mode in this game - put as much stuff on the scale as you can

'Arr-vest by ThePelranthean 2023-01-10T18:56:16Z

Very cool idea (and cool game name). There is not many games out there with theme of ships.

I like the upgrades. It was satisfying to rip through all those ships like an ultimate killing machine :) After 15 minutes of playing I was so overpowerd I didn't even need more "Faster reload" because I couldn't click faster :D

I also like the music and ship model.

Pickey (VR Only) by shadowbrain 2023-01-11T16:31:45Z

I just tried it on Quest 1 via Virtual Desktop and it worked fine. The feeling of pulling things out is very satisfying (and also the sound).

HELLGATE HARVEST by kodingnights 2023-01-09T13:09:01Z

Very addicting game. It was a bit difficult for me because what I heard and what I saw was a bit out of sync. Maybe some kind of calibration option would fix that. Recently I played Metal Hellsinger and it had simple but useful audio & visual calibration (you can see examples on youtube)

Either way after couple of tries I was able to finish the game :)

Halloween Harvest by muriel 2023-01-10T19:41:13Z

Shooting pumpkins was very satisfying. I also like this "ritual" of going sleep and pickup up the shotgun every time. It was a nice addition. Good game.

Harvest Moon by bigbadollie 2023-01-13T14:41:50Z

I'm really impressed what you managed to create is such short time. The steering feels great. The models are simple but esthetic. I tried to use PUN once and it was a pain for me but after playing your game I think I need to give it another try :)

BTW I almost named my game same as you - ultimately I swapped the word order and I have Moon Harvester :)

Bad Apples by paulstraw 2023-01-09T20:02:35Z

It was really fun to play. I like the graphics and audio.

Fox Puppies Want Food For The Winter by Lerg 2023-01-10T13:57:44Z

Ingenious game! I like the graphics and sounds. I think it has a lot of potential (especially as a mobile game)

BEE A GOOD BEE: And Fetch Me Some Pollen by ahintoflime 2023-01-10T00:05:55Z

I managed to gather 534 pollen. I think it's not bad :)

The music is a masterpiece :D

Congratulations for your courage to make a game in a different engine than usually.

Planetary Mining CO. by Mcnuttys 2023-01-12T17:03:14Z

I think this is a good foundation for a interesting game. The mechanic of harvesting whole planet layer by layer is very cool. One small thing which was a bit annoying for me was the overlapping sound of multiple the miners.

Rough Harvest by Timur_Bahadir 2023-01-11T13:33:19Z

Great game! I had a lot of fun playing it. During first playthrough I needed only 5 more coins and a tomato killed me. Then I noticed there are powerups to cook :D The second playthrough was even better. The game is well balanced for me. It was challanging but not to hard. Graphics and audio are also great!

Ethereal Fruits by Manan 2023-01-09T23:25:04Z

Such a relaxing game. After some time I realized I maxed out all the upgrades but I still kept playing. This is a really unique game. Congratulations and thanks for this game. It was a pleasure playing it.

E.C.F - Extreme Conditions Farming by dimaswift 2023-01-09T16:12:51Z

Great graphics and esthetics. The game is veryy addicting. At the beginning it's quite slow but later there is plenty things to do. I wish I could select tools with 1-4 keys (would be faster)

Harvest Looper by madcoil 2023-01-09T15:38:25Z

I'm impressed how polished this game is. I like the graphics and audio. Harvesting crops is very satisfying.

For me it was a bit too difficult but I had a lot of fun playing it!

Jack the Reaper by FabDynamic 2023-01-13T09:22:36Z

It was fun to play. The game plays very smoothly. For some reason it was very satisfying to clear the whole level. You perfectly nailed the 80's vibe. It even recalled my memories when I got my first 8bit console as a kid :)

During first playthrough I fully finished the first level and the game was over. I was a bit supprised because I expected there will be more levels. Then I noticed I can jump between different levels. The "n" key was effectively a "pannic button". It makes the game much easier because I can always escape from tight situations. I think it would be better not to cycle through ALL level but each next level should have more enemies. This way each time you press the panic button you need to take the risk that it will be only harder and harder. This would also require that every level has at least 2 enemies (so you can get trapped and be forced to use the panic button).

When it comes to mashing up some more classic games I though about bomberman. For example if the field is fully harvested (9) you can place a bomb on it, which can kill or temporarily disable enemies within range but also resets fields in range to 0 (so it has pros and cons and player needs to decide).

Bill, The ATMan by J0ye 2023-01-11T14:22:41Z

And people say that _money don't grow on trees..._ :) Very original idea for a game :) I like it. For me it's a bit too difficult but I'm not a platformer guy. I like the art style and audio.

Harvest or Die by Ninnec 2023-01-09T17:43:56Z

It took me few minutes to figure out the rules but after that I was able to finish the game. Very interesting mechanics. I like the graphics and audio. Great job.

Beautiful and relaxing. Thanks!

Hooked (Online) by Becher 2023-01-09T15:48:51Z

I love the art style. I wish the fish catching mechanic was more challanging (e.g. like in Startdew Valley).

Samhain by daitli 2023-01-10T18:27:26Z

Really cool idea and execution. I like the esthetics. The chains remind me of Scorpion from Mortal Kombat :) I wish player could say "Get over here!" from time to time :D

@daitli @leoatopos I had the same issue on one PC (Firefox) but on other one it's working.

Moon Harvester by owca 2023-01-09T22:26:14Z

@sean-esopenko Until now I always did a WebGL games for Ludum Dare but unfortunetely this time during the jam it turned out I can't. I used a feature that is not working properly in WebGL (Terrain Details using GPU instancing). The only video I have is the short one above.

Anyway thanks for cheking out my entry. BTW I'm still amezed about creativity in your Calorie Crunch :)

Plantome by Danyclockworker 2023-01-09T15:21:25Z

I really like the graphics and audio but I think I don't understand how to play this game. I'm constantly out of water.

Mineralia by googlypoo 2023-01-10T17:53:31Z

Great idea and execution. There is a lot of decisions to be made which is good. I like the graphics. And I love the effect you used for highlighting current hex (very creative way of using particle system). Great job - especially for a compo game.

Racing Reaper by Crygos 2023-01-09T23:37:06Z

The graphics are great and the gameplay is smooth. Nicely done.

Combative Crops by AntonioTheReis 2023-01-09T14:03:18Z

Mineray by Riodeluz 2023-01-13T17:51:17Z

Very nice visuals. Robot models are great! I would suggest adding some indication which robots are available to buy at given moment. The amount of gold was sometimes hard to read.

Overall very nice entry!

Shroom Harvest by hdh 2023-01-09T13:26:08Z

Interesting game. I like the esthetics and audio. This backgound shader is awsome. Sometimes I had issues with sliding the tiles (especially in rush).

No Harvest by RogerW 2023-01-09T22:03:39Z

I like that you made a game about not-harvesting. It a quite uniqe approach to the theme. I like the graphics and audio. I only wish i could select disasters with keyboard and not to have confirm every action. I think it would make the gameplay more dynamic.

Hex Crops by armlubos 2023-01-11T11:38:45Z

Pros: - Amazing graphics - Very polished game - Implemented AI - Possibility to play with other person on same PC - Interesting mechanics

Cons: - Randomization (during first play I didn't receive any crops and couldn't do much)

Overall I'm very impressed - this one of the best games I saw this jam so far.

Lunaculture by Auros 2023-01-11T10:44:13Z

At first I thought I need to be close to the field I want to plant something on (like in Stardew Valley) and it was a bit hard to controll. After I realized I can do everything without moving the character it suddenly became easier and more enjoyable. The possibility to plant, water and harvest just by dragging over the fields was nice. I'm impressed you managed to implement such quite complex game with inventory system in such small amount of time. Congrats!

Collector of _ by Jujus 2023-01-09T23:54:22Z

For me personally the game is a bit to difficult but I like the art style and the smoothness of controls. Nicely done.

LD54 — Limited Space

Verliies by Ace17 2023-10-04T16:23:36Z

Nice interpretation of the Theme. Game is nice although I stuck at some point and wasn't able to continue (i'm bad at platformers)

Diminutive Dungeon by Rose 2023-10-02T14:43:23Z

Great game! I really enjoyed playing it. I bought all the upgrades and I liked that they changed a bit the way of playing. I only once had an unsolvable level which is actually great for a procedural generation system developed in such short time. Some of them were really tricky and fun to solve. I like the graphics - very clean and readable. The music fits perfect. Congrats!

Wall Wizard by Strega 2023-10-04T15:21:34Z

Really nice game! I like the mechanics, perk system and music. I wish there was an endless mode :)

Squeeze & Wiggle by YogurtTheHorse 2023-10-04T15:53:07Z

Very original idea. Definetly 5 stars for Theme (I felt claustrophobic sometimes). I like the audio and graphics and the overall mood.

Booze & Row by Gonzo13 2023-10-04T17:03:04Z

The game looks great! There are some issues as other mentioned but with a little polish it can turn into a great game.

Last God's Bidding by Daxic 2023-10-03T19:08:00Z

The game is very polished (especially for a game jam). I like the artstyle very much.

I found myself looking at the symbols in the upper right corner for most of the time almost totally ignoring the planet view. Maybe moving them inside the planet would help but maybe it's just me being weird :P Anyway - nice game! :)

Calves of the Braves by Furano 2023-10-04T16:51:48Z

Great art style and humor! Very fun to play!

SURFSTRONAUT - Limited Space by RobbzenOne 2023-10-04T15:34:02Z

For me the controls were a bot to hard but I still had fun playing it. Thanks!

FROUST! by Kupnu4 2023-10-07T13:39:09Z

Pros: - cute graphics - nice snowman shader - super animation and sound of poping snowmen - music fits perfectly - simple but addictive gameplay - works on pc and mobile (althout it was harder to control on mobile for me) - clever mechanic of sinking ice - great interpretation of theme - very polished game - well balanced

Cons: - NONE

I won't be surprised if this game gets to top 3 in some categories. Congrats!

The game is just great! I like everything about it! I suspect it will land in top 10 in few categories :fingers_crossed:

Really nice game. Clever level design. I only wish there were more levels :) I think this game has a lot of potenitial and could be further extended with more module types. I also like the precise controls.

Wow! Quite a complex game for a Compo. I'm impressed. It has this "just one more block" syndrom ;) I like the art style. At first I didn't know what is happening in the game, but after a while it became clear :)

Space Limiter Warp Drive by 2TheGameChanger 2023-10-02T09:48:10Z

I liked the mechanic of staying close to orbs but not too close (player can decide how much risk he wants to take). I also liked the increasing buzzing sound and orb color change when player gets closer. It gives nice feedback. The variety of levels/patterns was ok. The length of game was also perfect for a game jam.
