this is indeed the longest commute. the art direction was great and very authentic. the music was very interesting. tho i had to mess around a bit to get the controls. pretty fun game with an interesting concept.

I like the black and white asthetic. Also controls feel snappy and no bugs found. Nice

mhm32167 2022-04-05 04:22

Clever game! I played it before work for extra immersion. Initially I thought the controls were from the perspective of the car (i.e. if you need to turn left press A) so it took a couple of attempts to realise they weren't. The overall graphical style is nice and cohesive. Great concept, nice job!

Love the connection to the theme! Very meditative experience. Didn't realize at first you could only drive down each road once, but it made sense on my second time through. Great little game.

I liked the music and the gameplay is solid. It's lagging here, but I think the problem is my Google Chrome. The game fits the theme very well and the level design is pretty nice. I only wanted a minimap or something that indicates where is the work to avoid it.

Loved it! Amazing visuals and audio. I do feel like I was slightly confused on the controls worked, even after playing it for a while, so maybe some instructions would've been appreciated? But overall, great work!

Very simple game but very fun as well, love the music!

My new game to play while im on my way to work

The controls were a bit confusing. The concept was good! Even if it's short lived, really intuitive code. The tire tracks were a nice detail, and the music never felt repetitive. Good work you guys!

very nice concept with this paper like art, looks very solid for a weekend game. Also a good music is nice. Finished the whole game with interest, not much hard for me. But i can't catch the point how it is related to delaying inevitable, you just drivring to work..

shigor 2022-04-08 21:13

@mhm32167 thanks - I was frustrated that I cant control the damn car :)

shigor 2022-04-08 21:14

This is pretty good use of the theme - you can just find a way to the next part, or try to run around as much as you hope.

zsharpfire 2022-04-08 21:15

The controls are a bit awkward, but after you get used to it, it becomes pretty fun! Nice graphics and SFXs

Good job!

This game could be also themed as local taxi driver "taking a shortcut" while driving foreigners  Pretty cool paper style with good music. The game feels good to play :D 5/5

specturnal 2022-04-11 00:34

The art direction is quite special, and it can be funny how ridiculous the road pattern soon gets. Spent some time figuring out what are the controls though, I was going to think the car runs on its own  Interesting take on the theme and it is quite impressive for a game jam.

boxedmeatrevolution 2022-04-11 00:54

Very nice aesthetics and groovy background music :musical_note: I liked the puzzle-like concept of finding the longest route possible. I think it would improve the fun factor if the player had a point of reference for each level to know how good or bad their route was (maybe like a grading system based on how long their route was?). Overall this was a very solid game! Also thanks @mhm32167 for explaining the controls

skleembof 2022-04-11 01:37

That was cool and unique. Simple gameplay but fits the theme perfectly. Also, the art style and music are both great

saintchristopher777 2022-04-11 01:53

Love it! Creative art and super chill music. Also, ages ago I had a job driving deliveries, and did a lot of exactly this, meandering through town slowly, procrastinating getting back to work :-D

sephowepho 2022-04-11 03:13

I loved it!!! I didn't actually end up making it to work though, so that kinda sucks, but from what I played; It was fantastic (:D)! I love the style used here, and the music is some nice icing on the cake! Great job, keep it up! :)

owca 2022-04-11 07:28

Wow! The graphics style is amazing! Very cool idea! I also liked the music a lot. Very nice entry.

mosman 2022-04-12 07:59

The art style is lovely! With more time, it would be nice to have some props to sometimes add some diversity to what you see on the screen. But good job!

vixenmink 2022-04-17 04:13

Awesome title screen and art style choice for this game. Music is very nice

Biggest problem I have is: + Are there actual controls to this game? I have tried every button and nothing works. If no controls, maybe describe this so player knows what to expect so less aggravation.

It might also positively impact the players experience if your intentions behind this game were a little more clear and pronounced.

Great idea and hope you might be able to describe to me what the premise is.

infinitycore 2022-04-17 04:22

@vixenmink it controls like Pac-man, if you hold a direction, then the car will turn toward that direction at the next available location.

potkirland 2022-04-18 19:50

i came to this game for the art! realy lovely approach! it was a challenge to figure out the controls but once i got the hang of it it was pretty (although a bit counterintuitive for me) clear. cant say the same for puzzle thou. the lack of a map really made it difficult to determine which paths to take.

still a really interesting concept. nothing i ve seen before very innovative.

vixenmink 2022-04-19 18:08

@infinitycore I gave your game another go yesterday and I really liked your music variety. The variety of maps kept the game nice and versatile so I could delay going to work as much as possible.

Still main recommendation is to list your controls somewhere on your sites as well as in the game. Whatever the restart button or if there is a pause button need to be viewable for a player.

Great job on this one :)
