Great job! I love how simple but effective the visuals are! It is a little difficult, but that's actually my favorite kind of game!!! I ended up only doing like 4 rounds and got my score to 21!
@r3l0ad1 Here's my game code so you can play it! Thank you for offering to! ;) ldj.am/$259844
Hooray, good job! I really like the concept, along with the art, audio and gameplay! So pretty much everything! I managed to beat it my first try with a time of: 6:44.624! I think I did pretty dang well! :D
I really enjoyed the voxel art style in this!
I enjoyed this, but I also think the glitch ability was hard to get used to... :/ I really like the art in this game! Keep up the good work you 4!
I enjoyed this more then I thought I would! Good job!
Even with how disgusting it was, I have to congratulate you two for how amazing the decapitation animation was!!! :D
This was pretty difficult, but I managed to get it on my 3rd try! Good job on the game! I really enjoyed it!
Nice! I like the mechanic of jumping across the platforms!
I enjoyed this! I did the first level pretty easily, but on the second level, it didn't give me a second office? I think I just didn't play long enough, but I've played enough that I can say good job!!!
I love this so much! XD Show this to every flat-earther you know. Maybe then they will understand...
Great job! Somehow, even with how hard it was, I managed to beat it in just a few minutes! For being so hard it was also extremely fun and the ding sound when you made it to the end of the level was rewarding! ;)
Noice! I really like the way everything looks, but I would've prefered a faster paced game! Somehow I managed to get stuck somewhere and glitch into the floor... One last thing! Where did you get the animation for the player character?
@arifacid Yeah, I have some bugs in my game even though I was focusing on polishing it as much as possible! It's just not something you can avoid in such a small amount of time!
Nice, man! I really enjoyed playing this! I didn't play for very long, as I need to sleep, but I played enough to get the idea and the idea is great! I especially love the pixel-art in it! Pixel-art/art-in-general is hard to get right but you nailed it! Very interesting concept and I'll probably be playing it some more tomorrow! :D
This is another absolutely amazing entry! I love the art @melancholia!!!
Oh my gosh this is amazing!!! I love it so much!!! My favourite thing about it is the pixel art, because I know how hard it is to make something that looks good and everything in here looks amazing! Unfourtunatly I found a bug where if you're tiny and grow back to normal size next to a platform, you'll get stuck in the platform and not be able to get out... I am so surprised this was made in 3 days!!!
Thank you three! I did want to focus on art the most, since it's what I enjoy the most! (Edit: hadn't learnt how to reply to comments yet...)
@mr-danh Thank you for the feedback! I would understand if some of the jumps are too hard, because with all the procrastinating I did on this game, I only had like 3-4 hours to work on levels!
@terabyte Thank you very much! I tried to keep a good difficulty curve while designing it! >:D
@lynnaira Thank you! I focused on the art a lot! I have a link for the palette in the description as I didn't make it up! I'm glad you enjoyed the music, but I should let you know I didn't make it, a robot did! XD If you want to hear more AI generated music you should head over to Ecrett Music!
@cosmicpotato I appreciate it! I just need to let you know that the music was actually AI generated! I generated it using Ecrett Music, so if you wanna hear more high quality music you should check it out!
@karsinis I'm glad you enjoyed it! I haven't played any Nitrome games, but I'm happy it made you think of them! :D
@vulpez That's actually what I was going for! I wanted a simple game to create, but I also wanted something that felt great to play! So instead of focusing on complexity, I went for a simple platformer and worked on it from there! I also wanna tell you that the music used in the game was generated at Ecrett Music! That's right, it was made by a robot... Look how far the world has come...
@randomerz Thanks! If you're wondering, I used Ecrett Music to generate the sound! I would've made the music myself, but I'm glad I didn't cause I almost ran out of time! I totally could've done more, but as I expected, I procrastinated a lot so I wanted to keep it simple!
@alina-baybulatova Thank you! I did want to make the graphics as good as possible! Fun fact: I actually don't know what the character is supposed to be, I just made a blob! I'm glad you liked it!!!
@deltamain Yeah I wanted to finish the actual game mechanics in just an hour or two, and then focus on graphics! I'm sure I can do something about the falling platforms, but I just decided to add it as a feature since I'm lazy! The physics were actually super simple to implement! I just made the platforms rigibodies and then added a bouyancy effector to the water! I'm glad you liked the music, but you should know it was made by AI at Ecrett Music!
@neilkleistgao I'm glad you enjoyed it! I loved creating it too! ;D
@lemonisred Yay, I made a cool game!!! :v:
@euler-moises I'm glad you liked the pixel art, I tried to make it as high quality as I could allow! This is actually one of my first times trying level design and I'm glad it came naturally! The blind jumps are a little bit unfair, but what I intended is for you to take the falling platform like an elevator so you could see where to jump! I was initially intending them to only fall from the top, but then when it came to making them I just kept them as they were! It made it just that tad bit harder! Yeah now that I think of it, I should've generated a longer song... (PS: The music was generated at Ecrett Music!!!)
@henriquecanella Hooray, I'm glad I did a good job! If I were to make this a full game, I would've made the character stats a lot different, but with how small the levels were I decided to make it pretty slow! (The reason the hitboxes are weird is because I made a bigger trigger collider on the player then I needed to!)
@hozoku Thank you very much! I'm just gonna brag a little bit here, but I think that making games comes very natural to me! Everything I've learned is off Youtube! I'm glad you enjoyed the game, and I'm sure I'll keep at it! ;)
@byyiro Thank you very much! And yes, I found it a nessecity to share that amazing tool! I was actually going to add paralax but it didn't work with my smooth camera script! I was worried that would happen with the tiling!!! I tiled it less on the left side because you wouldn't have to go over there much!
@emaigualmc2-art I appreciate it! :D
@sli Thank you very much! I'm very happy with this being my first jam entry, I think I did good! This was actually my first time designing a collection of levels so I'm glad it turned out good!
@vitor-milioni Thank you for your in-depth feedback! I appreciate it my dude! I'm glad you enjoyed it! I understand that a lot of the jumps can feel a little strange to pull off, but with how simple I made it, I felt like that was one of the only ways to add difficulty... I really like the way the bobbing platforms work and I do think I could've done more with them too!!! I was going to animate a lot of stuff, but I actually ended up being busy on Sunday and just procrastinated all around... I'm happy I got to submit an entry people seem to like! I know next time I can improve on my faults I had this time! I'm also hoping next time I can try to make something more unique! :D
@curleysam I'm happy you enjoyed it! I tried my hardest to make the physics feel great by messing around with the gravity on the player! I'm glad you enjoyed the art, but the music was generated at Ecrett Music by AI! I've actually messed around with particles to the point that I managed to make those particles in like 5 minutes!!! I would've added paralax, but the script I tried to use messed with the smooth camera and then I was just too lazy to make my own script... Thank you for your feedback!!!
@cozygamepals Thanks, man! I did try to keep it simple as I didn't know what to expect with the time limit! I have been hearing that the respawn takes too long, I guess I didn't notice as I didn't die much on my own levels!
@onesmallboy I'm glad you liked the art! I was going to add sound effects, but I ended up being busy during the jam and I couldn't make any... I did try my best to make the difficulty curve as good as possible, which includes the progression of complexity!
@victoriaogino Hooray, I made someone's favorites! This was actually my first time making a collection of levels, and yes I do use Aseprite! I could have actually added checkpoints if I wanted to, but with how short the game was I thought using checkpoints would make it a bit easy to finish! I'm happy you enjoyed the art in it! I tried my best to make it high quality! :)
@rufson Thanks! I'm surprised the song fit as well as it did! I'm glad you enjoyed the pixel art, I tried my best! These levels were actually the first time I've made a group of levels, so I'm glad it turned out well!
@pashaloban Thank you! I try my best! ;)
@pfs I'm happy you liked the art and yes, I know that bug! That was actually just me not wanting to code in the functionality of them only falling from the top... So it's not a bug persay, they just fall whenever you touch them! Thank you for playing it and leaving feedback! :D
@ratrat44 I'm glad you liked it and thank you for sticking through to the end! I really wish I had more people playtesting it because I do see that the cracked ice is kinda wonky now! I would've seen it sooner if I had more feedback beforehand, but I'm glad it doesn't take away from the experience much!
@benskca Thank you for the amazing feedback! I'm glad the visuals are good, as that's the thing I spent a lot of my time on! I'm also happy it didn't bother you too much about the cracked iceburgs falling, as I know it caught a lot of other people up! This was actually my first time creating a selection of levels so I'm glad I got the level progression down! Thanks for playing my game and thank you for enjoying it enough to leave me some feedback! ;)
Good job! I only played for a few minutes, but my pb is 48! I appreciated the simple art for this game! I think you did really well! ;)
Yay, I made it to the top! It only took me 3 tries!!! >:D Amazing game, I love it! 5 stars on everything but humor! Honestly can't wait to see where you place! Epic job, keep it up!
@cozygamepals OMG I JUST CLICKED ON YOUR PROFILE!!! This is your first Ludum Dare jam!?! How the flip!? I made a platformer in three days and then I play this thing!!! I would've thought you were a veteran!
This was really fun! I got stuck on level 13 and had to stop, but it was great! :D
I only played one round of it, but I can tell, it's great! I'm surprised this was done in 3 days!
Really really loved it! It was fun to stack buildings on top of each other, and it was equally as sad when your tower would fall over (XD)! I got to 19 rounds my first try, and it was super fun! Great job, all of you; 4.5/5 stars from me!
I loved it!!! I didn't actually end up making it to work though, so that kinda sucks, but from what I played; It was fantastic (:D)! I love the style used here, and the music is some nice icing on the cake! Great job, keep it up! :)
Neat! I didn't end up being able to make it past the second level, but I enjoyed it (XD)! Very hard game, I would say, if I had a suggestion it would be to improve the wolf's AI, as right now it's *very* hard to drive them away! I reaaally liked the art for this game; it looks fantastic! :D
Amazing game, *really* loved the graphics! I got to about round 14 before perishing, and I enjoyed getting there! :D
Great game!!! I love the art for this one, and that's just the icing on the fantastic cake! :D
Great game! I got to about 3 minutes my first try, and I really enjoyed it! Super-duper fun, love the pixelated camera effect! The game was immersive enough it made me forget that the police *don't* actually know what I did (XD)! 4 outta 5 stars, keep up the good work! :D
Neat! I enjoyed playing through this one (:D)! I found the sounds a little bit annoying after a while, but other than that, I really liked it! :)
Love it! I found my own strategy to get a high score, and then immediately ditched it when I saw what everyone else was doing (XD)! I ended up drawing a line beneath me, jumping off of it and then doing the same thing mid-air! Really great game, I love the drawing mechanic, 4/5 stars! :D
Great game! I played it for way too long (XD)! Fantastic job with the idea, execution, graphics, audio, gameplay, etc.! Unfortunately, I found out wayyyyy to late that you could bridge over the water (:P)! I ended up making my entire town on the left side and then starting work on a seperate town on the other side! XD
I loved it! Honestly, I didn't get very far, as I didn't understand for the first little bit, but I really like the idea here! I wish the items would be just a *tad* less bouncy when they're in your bowl, but other than that; Great game!
Amazing!!! I'm always interested to see what a big team can do in a game jam, and I guess this is my answer! Very, very fun, spent like 10 minutes on it without getting bored! I reaaally like the art, it doesn't get much better than this in Ludum Dare! Great job, 4.5/5 stars!
Good game! It's simple, but I liked it anyway! Definitely a lot of polish that coulda been done to it, but in it's state it's a fun game to play! I died way more than I'd like to admit, and I probably experienced every bug unfortunately (:P)...
Fantastic! I really liked playing through it! The music was probably my favorite part, though I loved it all (:D)!
Fantastic, I loved it (uwu)! I really liked the art for the game, the dialoge, the humor, specifically the tea bag's string for some reason (XD)! Great job, I was surprised to hear this was only made by 2 people! 4.5/5 stars from me, keep it up! :D
I love it (XD)!!! Had a really fun time with it, and I did end up finishing all the levels! If I had *one* suggestion, I'd turn up the speed of the game a little bit (your tasks take less time but so do the mother's)! Nice entry, 4/5 stars from me! :D
@shreemp @jul-li Sorryyyyy, I thought it was downloadable, gosh dang it!!! I forgot to click the publish button when I was done doing the page! If you're still interested, I've fixed the problem (XD)!!!
@jul-li Thank you for the feedback, I'm glad to hear you liked it! I did get a little lazy near the end with no sound-effects, but I have never made a video game sound effect in my life so I'm not gonna be too upset about that (XD)!
@chocolat-endive Thanks for playing my game! I would've added a tutorial in the game, but I kinda ran myself out of time near the end and I just wanted to get it out there (XD)! I'll need to check into making sound effects on my own, but thank you for sending me that website! Had no idea it existed! ;D
@mooncalf Thank you!!! My brother actually found out about that stratagy of just jumping through everything, so I'm not too surprised to hear someone found it (XD)! I'm glad you liked the graphics, and thank *you* for playing it! ;)
@pordrack Thank you very very much! I'm glad you liked the visuals as that's probably where 30% of my time went (XD)! The gameplay is very simple, but I drained my time and couldn't really add too much more! Thanks for leaving me some feedback!
@riley9 Thank youuuuuu! I am aware about the game having a slow startup, but that's mostly just so people who haven't played the game can have an easier time (;D)! If I decide to update the game on my own time, it would be very easy to add a difficulty slider, so I may take time to do that! I'm glad you enjoyed it and thank you for leaving me such great feedback! uwu
@arihan10 Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you liked it, dispite it's flaws! I apologize that since I'm doing this on a computer that isn't mine, I can't really download your game... :P (I've only been playing web games so far)
@mavvy I'm glad you liked it! I did spend a lot of time making sure your health wouldn't sneak up on you, and I'm glad it shows (:D)! Thank you for playing my game and taking enough time to write feedback on it!
@shreemp Yeah, everybody who playtested it for me experienced the exact same thing (XD)!
@specturnal Thank you, I'm glad you liked it! I spent a good deal of my time on the recharge effect, so I'm happy it worked out! :D
@marvis & @honey-pony, Thanks for your feedback! Tbh with the platforms, I didn't mean for you to be able to hit the sides, I was just too lazy to find the problem (XD)!
Thank you very much, @ianthebee! :D
@cakts Thank you, man! I totally would've put a tutorial in the game, but I was struggling with time as it was, so I made a stratigic decision not to (XD)! I'd like to see how much more I could cram into this game, but thankfully I am proud with where I came out at! Thank you for playing my game, you should be the 20th rating, so now I'm looking forward to seeing my average stars... >:D
@chingle Thanks, I'm glad people are liking the regenerate visuals I added! :)
@aevek I give a thanks right back to ya, I'm glad you liked it (;D)! I wish I had figured out how to make the buttons keyboard based, as that is an issue that bothers me as well; Thankfully they're just menu buttons, so I don't think it takes away from it too much! :)
@peter-sc Yeah, still kinda regretting not putting the tutorial in game (XD)! Thank you for liking it enough to leave feedback! :)
@milan8890 Thank you very much! I tried my best to polish everything to the max, so I'm glad it shows! :D
@emaigualmc2-art Thank you so so much (uwu)! I'm glad the art stuff holds up, as I'm still relatively new to it (about 2-3 years learning pixel art off youtube)! I would have to guess that the jumping problems are to do with the game and not your computer, as I really didn't test it too much.
Thank you, @saintchristopher777! I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)
@lletzgogames You're actually the second person to bring up that game, but I seriously had no idea it existed (XD)! Thank you for leaving some feedback on it, even though you couldn't play it very long! :D
@andrewkennedy Yay, thank you (:D)! I'm glad you enjoyed it! I did actually add another thing around the score you got to, that made it more difficult to survive! I definitely made them show up too late, but I added some lava that falls from the top of the screen, requiring you to move across the screen! I hope it wasn't too boring without those!
@makiling-interactive-arts Thank you for playing! I am aware of the lack of sound effects, but I've got no experience in creating them! XD
Great game! I got to about 6 days my first try, but then went up to 15 on my second try, so I'm gonna be proud of myself for that (XD)! I enjoyed playing it, it's fun and creative, and just seeing the hoards of spiders coming at me is hilarious. 3.5 outta 5 stars from me! :)
Great game!!! I really like the idea of it, and the execution is epic! I was having trouble with the 1-second-hold button, so I didn't really get that far, but my high score so far is 13:25! Keep up the good work! :D
Good game! I wish it were more like juggling (moving left to right), instead of just timing, but I enjoyed it! :)
Amazing game!!! I was caught of guard by how *fantastic* the art was! Very, very polished for a game-jam game, it's incredible! The only complaint I can think of is that the hitboxes on the hazards seem a bit weird, but other than that I loved it! :D
I really liked it (XD)! I did jump off a few times only to get the same death, but the only thing that did was make me play like a minute or 2 longer! Really funny, I did end up waiting for every death! :)
Noice! I really enjoyed playing through it, though I feel some sound effects are heavily required!!! It reminded me of Sonic Adventure DX (tails' airplane) with the flying/shooting mechanics, so that was fun! :)
I came into this not knowing what to expect, but I really really enjoyed it (:D)! It was super fun to play and I enjoyed every minute of it! A few things I'd like to note that I noticed, though; I found it difficult to keep track of all your different mushrooms, so I ended up just letting my other ones die, and focusing on the mushroom it started me on! I also had some trouble with refilling my water--I thought it would just add to my supply, so I was wasting money buying more water, not knowing I had to be empty to refill it... Overall, great game! :)
This was *really* neat! It's quite a simple game (still super fun), but the charming graphics and SFX really elevated the experience! I only made it to round 19, though I would enjoy playing for longer to improve that ()! Because of the game it is, you were really able to polish it up in a way that works super well; I loved playing through it!
Overall, this is a great submission; keep it up!
Really interesting idea, I enjoyed playing through it (:D)! I only survived 3 minutes my first try, but it was a fun 3 minutes! After understanding how the game worked, I got really good at keeping myself fed and feeding, the only thing that really killed me was the deer (XD)... I liked the way the sprites looked, though I wish you could have made art for the enviornment! I think that would've really up'd the quality of the game as a whole! Super good entry, keep it up!
Very well executed game! It gets really hard to put down after a while ()! Starting out, it's very chill with few things to do other than just watching your chickens, but now that I've gotten up to *45 chickens* it's difficult to catch a break!
The art is really charming and I loved just seeing my chickens roam around and live their lives (uwu)... I wish there had been at least some audio to listen to while caring for my coop, but that was as easy as putting on a music playlist, so it wasn't game ruining for me! For a Compo entry, it's really polished and I loved getting as far as I did; I honestly had to force myself off to write this feedback! XD
Overall, super super great submission, keep it up!
Really solid entry! *Really hard to put down entry!* It took me a few rounds to fully understand how to play the game correctly, but after that, it was super duper fun and has taken my attention for about 20 minutes. I didn't really get very far in my small number of tries, but I'll probably be back for more later anyways ()! I love the simplistic artstyle and gameplay, it just makes my brain happy.
Superb entry, keep it up!
That was super great for a 72 hour jam, absolutely beautiful! I didn't end up finishing it, but I played for maybe 15-20 minutes, and it was really really good. It played great, even just walking around was well done; looking around for interactables and potions was nice; the NPCs were well made and served their purpose with personality ! The only bug I experienced while playing is that you could accept a quest multiple times, and it would just stack it in the top right corner. Overall, really well made, the art was suuuuuper duper great! I loved it, please keep it up! :)
Ended up with 30 kitties by the end of it! I enjoyed it a lot during that time ! I wish you could have assigned the grab hand to right click, food hand to left click or the other way around; just some way to do both at the same time without having to open up a menu for it! But other than that, I have no real advice for you! It's a simple game, and I think you two executed it as well as you could have with your idea! Keep it up, this was really great! :)
Really, really well done ()! Personally I would've prefered something less than *complete* blindless during the game (maybe show where the player is every 2 seconds, or when they stop moving?), but overall, I really enjoyed it! I didn't use the timeline nearly as much as I thought I would; maybe for 3-4 levels, but I wasn't reliant on it in the long run. The music is so wonderfully composed, it kinda stole the game's thunder for me! I found myself failing in levels because I was admiring the track in the background ()! The art is super well made, which makes me wish it was more prominantly featured, rather than just the silhouettes!
I ended up playing through the entire thing, and I loved it; keep up the good work!
That was nice, I enjoyed it! I liked the minimalistic artstyle, and while I didn't get very far my first time, I still really liked playing through it ! It felt great zooming around the screen, though I wish there was a better way to lock onto enemies, as the 0 gravity makes it hard to aim correctly. I really would've liked having music in the background, though I can understand not being able to add it in time! ;)
It was really really fun, and I give you a congratulations for making it in 2 days! Super great!
Goodness gracious, that was fantastic (:star:)! Best game of the jam so far, for me at least! I came in 7th overall, though I'm not sure how it decides that yet, so I'll hold off getting a big head ()! *Suuuuuuper* polished, I didn't experience a single bug; everything worked really really smoothly! The design of the game is spot on, it nails pretty much every category for me! All of it comes together to an amazing end result that I'll probably be trying another 10 times.
I give a round of applause to you 4, incredible entry; I'm looking forward to see what you make next!
That was really great! I managed to play through the whole thing, and I've gotta say, congratulations on being able to finish in time! It was surprisingly long and pretty content filled; while some things got annoying, like the same sounds being played without variation, those are just nitpicks in an otherwise really well made game ! It was intuitive while being innovative with the twist on turn-based combat, I was easily able to hop into it after looking at the UI layout! I thought this was a Jam entry while I played through it, so I was in awe when I saw it was a Compo game! XD
Noice entry, keep it up!
Amazing! Brilliant idea you struck here (:star:)! Really great execution, the deletion steadily moves throughout the game in a way that urges you to go faster, and the NPCs made me laugh so I loved it. I only got ending #2 and #3, but it was enjoyable getting to the end of both of em'! Super innovative idea, I think it works perfectly ()! I do wish there was more polish done on the art, but that's just a personal nitpick of mine.
Overall, this was a really great submission; keep it up!
Definitely the most hilarious game of the jam for me. I *love* how it poses as a cute little LD entry about bears and then proceeds to destroy all of your expectations as to what the game could've been. Game feel was *wonderful* I loved blasting bear's heads off! Amazing, amazing game; I lasted maybe 8 minutes my first try, and it was fantastic all the way through.
4.5 outta 5 stars, solid entry from all 9 of you!
That was really neat! It was super polished for a LD submission, looked amazing and felt fantastic to play! Personally, I wish that water didn't insta-kill you, but I also understand why that was the decision. I only managed to make 22nd place on the leaderboard because of sloppy mistakes, but I'm gonna be proud of it anyway ()! I love the idea of the rabbits having water-guns, it made me smile!
Overall, really solid entry; keep it up!
That was really well done! I didn't immediately realize I could double jump, but after figuring it out I had a ton of fun finding how to utilize it! I think the art looked really neat, but the music stole my attention with it's well-composed-ed-ness... Or whatever you would call it... The puzzles were simple, but well designed, and made me use my brain to proceed!
Real good entry, keep it up!
That was nice! You really nailed the game feel; it's super fun to beat up enemies ()! The audio, graphics, gameplay, and the level design are all nicely made, though I do wish you cut down on the dead ends, as I got lost and didn't complete the game, but that might've just been because I wasn't paying enough attention. :|
Overall, it was a great entry, keep it up!
I enjoyed that maybe more than I should've (XD)! I've gotta say, it is pretty simple, but that didn't stop it from being entertaining! I did lose on the last level before I got the solution, but I only had to restart once, so it's all good on my side (:sunglasses:)! Congrats on your first Ludum Dare entry! It's a win from my eyes! >:D
Really effective and innovative puzzle game ()! My brain was a little too small to finish everything, but enjoyed all I went through! The art and music are superb and fit the game great, but I *loved* the puzzle design especially! I'm giving a round of applause to whoever created these puzzles, they made me rack my brain in the completely stumped but still stubbornly continuing kinda way ()! I couldn't make it past level 9, but I admired the thought that was put into each area of the game!
*Suuuuuper* well done! Keep it up!
That was fantastic! I loved the adorable pixel art (:D)!!! Bonking witches was surprisingly enjoyable, and I think I did pretty good at it for a noob like myself ;). I saved 24 frogs; got 25 frogs wet; 7 frogs got stolen from me (:'|); I bonked 13 witches; and ran 198m! Overall, this was really great! Keep it up!
Really really fun! I did have to read through your notes to understand how to play the game, but afterwards, it was super easy to enjoy ()! The game has very charming graphics and audio, along with a simple yet replayable game! I wish you could more than 3 items on the counters, and I think this would work better as a high-score style game rather than just *"play this long"*; but otherwise, I don't have any complaints! I just think those small changes would benefit it!
Overall, this is a really solid submission, keep it up!
This is insanity!!! You managed to squeeze down the amount of work I could do in 3 days into 2!!! I love how everything fits together to make a wonderfully crafted experience; the art, the music, the flipping *character!* It all works for the greater good of the unfortunately short game... (so it's safe to say, I loved it )
I liked that (:D)! I really loved the enviornmental art in the second area! The way the gun moved your character felt strangely satisfying while obliterating hoards of enemies (XD)! I'd say it's real easy to win, even with how many creatures there are... If you could turn up their damage or move speed, or some other third variable, I think it would work a bit better! Also the audio was suuuuuuper quiet if you could turn that up! XD
Probably the best game so far, for me! I love the creativity of this, I never would have expected to see something like it (:star:)! The art, sound design, dialogue, chat reactions and the actual Noirwood game all do the idea justice, to an incredible degree! I couldn't beat the game, but I was stuck on the last relic for maybe 7 minutes, so I was *reaaaaaally* close ()!
Fantastic job, superb submission; keep it up! 5/5 A++
That was neat! I didn't end up finishing it, but I'd say I experienced most of what it had to offer! I think it's a little too long for a LD entry, but maybe that's just me not being a huge fan of the genre! (Great job, keep it up!)
Nice job, I really enjoyed it! Here's an applause to everyone who worked on it ()! I do have a few critiques, but thankfully nothing major ()! I wish the movement wouldn't have been locked to the grid, like the furniture is, as it made it hard for me to start out grabbing and placing things without diagonal or incremental movement; and I also would've liked being able to pick back up furniture that I put down, along with a timer for when new furniture is coming (to emphesize the 10 seconds; I didn't feel too much time passing without it)! The art was probably my favorite aspect, as it gave me original Pokemon vibes ()!
With that said, overall, I really did like it! Good job all of you, keep it up!
This seems like a really great idea! Unfortunately, the web version appears to be bugged, in a way I can't bypass ()... I could make it past the tutorial and first rush hour, but it would never let me buy the sandwich construction table! Otherwise, I only really experienced a bug with the footsteps (they would overlap and drown out all other sounds), so what I experienced was neat. From what I played, I can rate it highly; the graphics are the real standout for me, with "Unrailed" quality voxel art that was made in 3 days ()! The mechanics worked really well during what I got to do, and I can imagine how they would stack up while making sandwiches!
I made my submission with essentially the same idea, so it was a must-play when I saw yours (same name, different executions)! I hope you can sort out the imbedded version! Good luck!
Really nice entry! I found it easy, which was weird after looking back at all the comments talking about the difficulty ()! There are a few things I would change (a clock collection counter, some of the tiles don't look great when they're repeated, music could be upgraded, more emphasis on *"time only moves when you do"*), but overall, I really liked it ()! Most of my complaints don't really make sense for a game-jam game anyway, but I think they're worth noting! The character controller felt responsive to my actions, with my only problem being I was being unable to control the height of my jump, so I enjoyed platforming through it! >:3
A little on the short side, but it made up for it with a pretty dang good game! Keep it up!
Really amazing submission! I went into it with the wrong idea on how to play (I stockpiled miners, not knowing I needed an almost equal number of fighters to survive long enough), but after figuring out what I needed to do, it was actually *super* easy... This isn't a complaint, but I survived for about 10-15 rounds the first time, then I beat it my second time in about 4 or 5 ()! You really nailed the asthetic for the game, it looks fantastic; but I love the mothership the most, I'd say!
Superb entry, keep it up; looked great, played great, sounded great!
That was great! I had a few problems starting out, with how the bus controlled; but after a little while of getting used to it I really enjoyed the game! My one complaint would probably be how the SWAT helicopters spawn randomly, regardless of if there's a car in the way... But other than that, I really liked it! Something about the graphics struck me as neat, specifically the explosions, so good job! (I wish you had ratings enabled, I would love to grade it...)
That was really fun! I only managed 6 items at once, but I think that's enough to properly compliment the game (>:D)! I loved that you used rigidbodies for the dice, cause I think it'd be a ton harder to have gotten the same effect with pixel art! Really great, I liked the generic narrator voice! XD
Really really great submission! It has a tough learning curve, but thankfully I caught onto it and now have a high score of $354 (>:D)! I love the way the sandwiches look when you finish them, though as the orders get longer there's a lot of unused space in the burger that makes me wish I could squish it down (XD)! I can say you accomplished in making the game super tough but super fun to play, it took my attention for more than 20 minutes ()! Some of the keybinds were really confusing at first, so I might suggest getting rid of *pickles* and *mayo*, but all the other ones were intuitive! :)
Wonderful submission, I really liked it! Keep it up!
@kingofnova Well dang it, I don't know what the problem is with the movement... I know it confused my playtesters that you have to *click* once to pick up, and *click* again to put down, so maybe that's it...? I was going after the Papa's Games sorta feel, so I'm glad it came through! >:3
@thiefaine Yayyy, I'm glad you liked it! I forgot to put it in the description before, but the music was generated by AI at Ecrett Music, just for clarification! :3 https://ecrettmusic.com/play
@thiefaine I'm glad it worked out with the double click, because at first that was just a bug I experienced! XD
@jonathan-vinesar Thank you very much for the in-depth feedback!!! I'm glad you enjoyed it!!! I did do a few of those annoying things on purpose, to avoid the game being really easy, so you'll have to forgive me for that (XD)! I did want the line to put pressure on you over time, and I'm happy that everyone who's played it for me has had that experience ()!
@mralcoro Thank you, man! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I get the issue with picking up the ingredients, you're not the first to bring it up (XD)! Thank you for spending your time on my game! :3
@omaewander Well, dang it (:|)! I'm not sure what the problem would be, but if you could get more specific with it, I'd like to look into it!
@burrowbling Thank you very much! I did mean for it to be a short but *hard* game, the one that takes you a few tries to get good at but only takes a few minutes to beat afterward! The music was generated by an AI at Ecrett Music (https://ecrettmusic.com/play) but I did spend a ton of time refining the artwork, so I'm glad it shows! :relieved:
@creepyounguy Yeahhhhhh, the moment I found out that it existed I decided to use it wherever I could! So far I've only used it for my 3 LD games, but even still it's gotten me out of tight spots! XD
@inksun Yeah, that's a problem with the web version specifically! If you full-screen the game it does fix it! :)
@coderaurus Thank you for your feedback, I'm happy you enjoyed it (:3)! Annoyingly, I did actually want to make the order menu easier to read, but kept it the way it is because of time constraints along with making the line pile up (XD)! I did make sure the zoom didn't cut off ingredients, though I assume it would if you aren't playing in fullscreen mode (forgive me for not checking that )...
@sohei I did make it difficult to prepare sandwiches quickly, literally just because I wanted the line to pressure you to get better (XD)! If I do try to improve on this idea, I will definitely make the order easier to read, as it does seem to hinder the experience more than I would like! Thank you for playing my submission, I hope you liked it! >:)
@m4ttu Thanks for the feedback! I am seeing the order paper as more of a problem than I originally thought, so I'll be sure to fix that if I ever try this idea again! A lot of the annoyances people are facing are things that I made hard intentionally, but it seems I'm gonna need to improve my implementation of it in the future! Thank you for your feedback, it really helps! :)
@cowgummiboy Yeahhhh, I didn't even consider trackpad users in the creation of this; sorry for that! The music was generated by AI at Ecrett Music (https://ecrettmusic.com/play) if you'd like to see how it was created! :D
@real-human-1000 Forgive my overlooking of trackpad users, this game is hard enough with a mouse; I hope it wasn't too annoying for you (XD)! I do wish I had spent more time making the essential information clear enough! It seems to take away from the enjoyment more than I would've hoped (;|)! Thank you for trying out my game and leaving me some quality feedback!
@deniz-aras Thanks for commenting, I'll be sure to see what you created in a bit (>:D)! I was going to make drag/drop the way of making your sandwich, but after not wanting to spend any more time on the base mechanics, I just moved on with what I had ! Thank you for playing my entry!
@urjarm I'm glad you enjoyed it! The art was something I probably spent more than 8 hours on so I'm happy it works well (:D)! The sound on the other hand was more drag n' drop, but I'm glad I fine-tuned it to fit the game! The music was AI generated at Ecrett Music (https://ecrettmusic.com/play), and the sound effects were created in ChipTone (https://sfbgames.itch.io/chiptone)! Sorry for the little mistakes in implementation with the mechanics, but thank you for trying my game and leaving me some feedback! :)
@ehon Thank you so so much! I'm glad all my effort this jam wasn't in vain! I made sure to get everything in the best state I could before sending it out, so I'm happy it comes through!
@adamcyounis Thank you for playing my game! I went back to watch you play through it, and I've gotta say, the time limit really made me cut down on the clarity... I tried to get by without a tutorial on how to make the sandwiches, but understandably, it didn't work as well as I thought it would. For each sandwich you need 1 type of meat, veggie, sauce, and cheese; The order could've been wayyyyy clearer, I was going to make the unnecassery ingredients darkened into the background, though it was too small a priority for me in hindsight (XD)! Some of the annoying things were done on purpose, as I assumed the game would be too easy if I fixed em', so you'll have to forgive me for that! It was really fun watching you play through it, though it also made me cringe at some of my mistakes ! I'm hoping I can improve next time, as I can still say this is a step up from my last one! Seriously, I think you ran into every problem possible with the way I set up the game, which is kinda sad, but it's helped me learn! >:D
@madness Thank you for trying it out, sorry if it was annoying in some ways (XD)! The recipe window was one of the last things I made, and I said I would fix it later; I didn't in the end, unfortunately ! The zoom shouldn't cut anything off in fullscreen, but the game is cropped otherwise so I'm sure I could've made it less intense. I'm glad you enjoyed it, thanks again for playing! :)
@bougiebirdie Thank you very much! It was fun seeing our different ideas on how to handle this kind of game ! I really enjoyed yours, thank you again for playing through mine!
@makhan Thank you! I tried my hardest to put it out as polished as I could, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
@shaolin-dave @leorid Thank you both for your in-depth feedback; I've been given some great ideas on how to improve my game, and critizisms on things that didn't work the best! It's *really* helpful, I appreciate you two taking the time to give your honest opinion on my entry!
@bloodbane, @sk-katea, @pianoman373, @omga; Thank you all for your feedback! I enjoy coming back to my computer to see people have enjoyed my game! :3
@nick-shooter Thank you very much! I really wish I could try this on a touchscreen now, I'm realizing how much better that would feel ()! I do understand those nit-picks, because I annoyingly put them in on purpose; glad to see my scheme worked! >:D
@maximbegunov I've been hearing people comment on the difficulty of my game, so I'm glad there's still a good number of people that are beating it ()! Thank you for playing it through to the end, I'm happy you enjoyed it!
@kushimoto Thank you for playing through my game, and taking the time to leave your opinion on it (:D)! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I'm sure I'll need to tweak the difficulty a good bit if I decide to continue on this ()! I'm glad you liked it, even if I made it a bit annoying to play; if you saw the games I spent my time on you'd understand why the balance is so out of wack! XD
@molpe Thank you so much for making a video on my game! I've never got one of these so it feels really special ()! Probably one of the most in-depth pieces of feedback I've ever gotten, thank you! It's so helpful to actually see someone play through my game!
Really, really neat game, it's so simple yet so effective ()! I think the mouse controls were literally the perfect choice for this, I couldn't have done it any better! I managed to beat it on my first try, which I'm gonna get a big head over ()! I loved the minimalist visual and auditory style, it does it's job super well!
Overall fantastic entry, you should be proud! Keep it up!
That was niiiiiiiiiiceee!!! It's really polished for a LD entry! It was quite difficult for me to finish personally, but I enjoyed it nonetheless! I loved the classic movie scream as the death sound effect! XD (overall, it was epic, I've gotta say)
That was really really nice! Firstly, the graphics are great; I've already said this on the posts you made about the game, but I think it's important enough to say again! Secondly, I really liked having to juggle the tasks with hiding under the sheets, as it keeps me on my toes during an otherwise pretty chill game; Thirdly, something about a one screen, point and click puzzle is just really interesting to me, especially when combined with the other aspects of the game. I didn't immediately notice you could look through the drawers in the desk, so I ended up looking at the walkthrough, but otherwise, I really enjoyed searching the room for all the hidden objects! Solid entry, keep it up! :)
That was great! I made my entry using the same idea, so it was nice to see how you handled it differently (>:D)! I loved the way the game presented itself with the graphics and audio, and I think you got the foundation of the game laid down strong too; The stress of the line built up smoothly over time with the 10 second intervals, and it caused me to improve faster and faster! I wish I could've seen a lives system or a countdown timer, but I'm not sure I would've paid much attention to it even if there was one (XD)!
Really solid submission, I loved playing through it!
This is a really neat idea, I loved seeing the AI generated results! The art program worked super well and it's surprising to me that it was made in 3 days ()! Other than that, I can't really give it much more feedback, seeing as it's all up to the artist (and the ai) how great the game was ()!
But overall, I really enjoyed it; keep coming up with innovative ideas!
Probably learned more about birds here than I have in real life! Really fun, I liked it!
Really fun, though also really really stressful (XD)! I played this after watching AdamCYounis play it, so there was no confusion with how to play the game, which helped! It looks super great, I'm shocked at how you got everything to come together during such a short amount of time ! The music is fantastic and it works to build up the tension even more, in a beautifully composed way! It's hard for sure, but I enjoyed it nonetheless! I made a game with this same idea, so it was interesting to see how you handled it differently than me! >:3
Superb entry, I loved it!
For such a simple game, this was reaally well done! It felt like one of those audio-visual experiences, even though all it had was text (XD)! Strangely satisfying listen to the countdown, and it gets even better as it starts to fade out... Real interesting, real simplistic, wonderfully done.
That was nice (:D)!! I give it a thumbs up for being made in only three days ()! I know there are limitations with the 10 seconds you have to solve it, but I do wish there were more steps involved in some of the puzzles, as someone who enjoys the eureka moments that come with puzzle games! I must admit, the controls were a little finicky to get used to; but after a while I really enjoyed it! >:3
Great job for your first submission! I didn't get too far in my few attempts, but I enjoyed playing through it ()! I hope you continue on your game-dev journey! Keep it up!
That was really really great... I love the way the game plays; it took me just a minute to fully understand, but afterwards it was super easy to get into and very fun to finish! The graphics are fantastic, specifically the dragon looks really amazing, but the enviornment, the eggs, the baby dragons, it all works so nicely ! The music/sound effects do their jobs wonderfully and it adds even more to the already great game. I don't really have any other feedback than that, I didn't find any complaints while playing! Fantastic entry, I'm looking forward to seeing what you make next time! :D
Nice work; the pixel art looks really great (:star:)! I loved the diversity in level design that made it more than just *"press jump to win"*, though I wish there was a little more room for error in some levels! I did end up finishing after 10-15 minutes, but there were times I lost a level because my timing was off by 0.2 seconds; which was a little upsetting ()! This was really good for your first LD game! I hope you can branch off into more creative endevours next time! >:D
Overall, I really liked it; keep it up!
That was neat! I achieved 35 gold on my first attempt, though I'm sure I could do better with practice! It was strangely fun just swinging the weapons around the screen, even when I wasn't trying to sell something (XD)! This was a super neat entry for the Compo! Keep it up! :D
I really liked that! Overall, I wish the art was more complicated, but it does it's job and it does it nicely ! I really liked being able to play through such a large collection of short levels like that, even if I didn't beat them all the intended way (XD)! Controls felt a little off at first, but after getting used to them, they were great to use! Really good entry from all of you, I'm looking forward to seeing what you make next time! :D
Really innovative game! I wish some of the mechanics worked more smoothly (chess bot, anticipation frames for boxing...), but I had a fun time playing through it! The music does it's job fantastically, and I'm having trouble turning it off, so here's a little applause to whoever composed it ()! I've been playing the original *Punch-out* on the Nintendo Switch recently, so this was really fun to try!
Wow, I loved that, it feels like a finished game already ()! Somehow I made it all the way to the end, an I loved *every second of it!!! Suuuuper* polished entry, it has a great amount of play time without getting boring or repetitive -- which is something I've faced a lot of personally. It took me a little while to understand my goal (mostly because I forgot which way was west ), but even with that little hiccup, I managed to finish it in 133 turns ()! I really have nothing negative to say about this; it's *really really* professional and well balanced, extremely well illustrated (not too complicated, but consistent), deep enough for complex strategies and simple enough for *me* to finish it.
Well done, I can't believe this is a Compo submission! 5/5 stars, took my attention for well over 20 minutes! :beers:
Yayyy, that was great ()! I was wondering why I wasn't able to take people with me at the beginning of the game, so I was happy to see my wishes were responded to (xD)! It's simple, but I did end up liking it -- I ended up dying before finishing everything, but I think I was *relatively* close to the end, seeing as there are no more controls than what I had. I think the dialogue added a lot to the game, I wish there was a bit more to do, but it came out well, you should be proud!
Really really great game, but I'm *really really* bad at it ()! I'm too impatient to plan out my shots, so I end up flinging all of my golf balls into the abyss and starting over before I even get to more than 10 balls; I'm awful, I can't do it!!! But thankfully I can appreciate the amazing quality of the game, even though I didn't get too far, so that's nice! It's wonderfully polished, especially for a Compo submission, there was never a moment where I ran into something that didn't work/look the way I thought it should've, and the deep simplicity of the mechanics lends itself to a lot of strategy I couldn't get myself into!
My biggest suggestion, though, is to add some sort of shot angle visualizer (dotted line style), so I can have *any* idea where I'm shooting. Other than that, fantastic job; keep it up, man!
You all made my favorite game of last jam, and it seems you're following through with that again ()! I love the adaptive music, I love fishing, I love the water shader, I love the nekos!!! Something about the way the game looks and sounds reminds me of "Kiki's Delivery Service" (which was mostly because of the kitty), absolutely beautiful, I loved it. Y'all are *way* ahead of me in this, so I can't give any real feedback, but I'm looking forward to playing more games from each of you.
It was all for the tuna feedback.png
*Oh my freaking goodness*, that was great. I'm tempted to say that was literally the best jam game I've played *period*; and while this is only my fourth, know that you are beating out over 150 games that I personally have played through. Everything about this game is wonderfully done, the *ART*, the *MUSIC*, the *WRITING*, the *CHARACTERS*, the *GAMEPLAY*, all of it's fantastic and you both should be proud of what you were able to accomplish in 72 hours. Even while most of it is relatively simple, and really isn't too unbelievable as a LD submission, somehow it all comes together to make a super impressive entry and an overly charming game!
I killed 3 or 4 people by accident, but that's the only regret I have coming out of this; 5/5 stars, great job!
OKAY LISTEN, *I WAS GOING TO PLAY THIS,* BUT I RAN OUTTA TIME AND FOR RIGHT NOW I'M SAVING YOU FROM LOSING YOUR PLACEMENT!!! I've rated averagely in each category so you can get a score at the end of the jam; I'll still try my best to play this and give you feedback, but I didn't want to risk trying that in 3 minutes!
Nice entry! I enjoyed playing through it, but unfortunately I would complain that it's *unreasonably* long for a LD submission. It got to a point where I wished there'd been 5 or 6 fields rather than 15, because it took me 10 minutes just to get that many. I did like playing through it, but I don't see myself finishing it anytime soon ()! That's probably a lot to do with my skill level, but I would suggest turning the length down, if you make any changes to the game! I only tried *once* and I got about 7 fields done! Good job all of you, I loved the vegetable animations!
Here's a round of applause to each of you!
Oh my goodness, that was great! Funnest game I've played, seriously ()! Beautiful balance between simplicity and polish with the graphics, audio, gameplay, all of it was perfectly done to make every round satisfying to complete! The harvest always felt well earned and amazing to cut through, I loved all the little particles, the bobbing of the plants, the sound effects of your money skyrocketing; really really well made entry, I loved it!
My only report is, the UI seems to stay/stack after restarting the game, so everytime I go through there's the menu text, tutorial text (etc.) on my screen, which made it *a little* annoying to try again, but that's small enough that it didn't effect my opinion on the game! In my three or so attempts, I got a score of 12070, which is probably stupidly small, but hey, I liked what I tried! :3
Okay, I liked that! I have a few points I've seen a few people point out, so I'll keep it concise! I feel like everything moves a bit slowly -- in the case of the notes (or people, I guess?), it makes it extremely difficult to have any amount of depth perception; there were times where the notes were really close together, because there's only a second or so between them, but immediately I categorize them as a double note and therefore miss one or both of them (), but if the speed of the people were turned up a few notches, time gaps would be visually distinct as note-press gaps. And to go hand in hand with that statement, the area where you need to catch the notes seems a bit small, making timing even more precise then it would be otherwise; instead of pressing when they reach the line as I would expect, it seems like I need to wait for the line to intersect their torso after they've completely walked over the place I'm aiming for...
But overall, this was a nice entry! Seriously you just need to tweak a few values and this would already be bumped up a star from how I see it now! Great job, especially for a first LD submission, keep it up! :beers:
That was really interesting, I'm not sure if I've ever gotten something that controlled exactly like that ()! It was annoying at times to build up enough speed for your scythe, even when spinning my mouse, I needed an unreasonable amount of space to build up enough speed in order to slash the weeds; I know this was probably fine tuned to make the game at all challenging, but I wish it could've been at least a *little* more sensitive (but that also could've been me setting my sensitivity too low ). Really nice, I would've liked at least a little bit of audio, but I get it being hard to implement any, I've done the same thing myself.
Good job, keep it up, and I'll see you next jam!
Real nice entry, good job! I'm gonna keep it simple, because it looks like my suggestions have already been suggested multiple times, so instead I'm going to bring up my *personal* findings for the game -- Already, the idea of a strategic multi-layer game of *"rock paper scissors"* sounds amazing, and in practice, it works really well! Though I also found an exploit that made it impossible for me to lose ()! The game itself is super well done, with my only problem with it being the simplicity of actually *winning* the fights themselves. I found that because I can see exactly what the enemy is composed of, it's really easy to (instead of looking at the finished stats and deciding what combination of veggies to choose) look at each individual ingredient and putting it's counter into your ingredients list; like tomato always beats celery, carrot always beats lemon, etc... As long as you counter each ingredient *specifically*, there's no way you can be beaten; and while I'm not sure *exactly* how this problem would be fixed, I think it's an important one to bring up! But that's it from me, I think; have a nice day!
Wow, that was fantastic!!! *Really* really innovative idea, I didn't understand everything until about 10 minutes in, but I ended up getting into the groove of the game and actually finished it! It was *LONG*, but I don't really think I can say that's a bad thing -- The art is simple and honestly does it's job just as well as any other style could, along with the new sound effects adding *just enough*, without actually requiring much work to implement!
My takeaway from this is, I have nothing negative to say about this game, it's really really well made and anything I would try to add to it is either unnessesary or harmful to the simplicity of the game; great job, keep it up!
Really really funny and somehow really innovative submission, I loved it (  )! Felt amazing flailing my arms about in absolute joy, and while it's a short and simple game, it's already up there with the other games I've played just because of how well it works; something about *"Text-to-speech"* voices really get me good!
I would've liked to play for longer, but I loved it, great job! :beers:
Cows make the most wonderful sounds, don't they?
Really fun but *really* hard game ()! I typically don't play games with this style of gameplay, so I'm gonna assume that's where my difficulty with it comes from, but I enjoyed what I tried! Pretty much all of my suggestions are to do with tweaking some of the sliders just so it's easier for new players, but here's a few of them anyway! I feel the troops are too weak for the number of enemies on screen (along with the amount of damage the enemies deal), and it ends up being too difficult to build up more troops due to only being able to plant and harvest *one ally* at a time. I wish I'd been able to see what more of the allies were -- I was only able to get up to the "Thistle-slinger" before getting overwhelmed, and sadly I think you may have added too much content for the average Joe to be able to see!
Overall, this is a *super* well made game, I just couldn't understand how to play it well enough to grasp everything inside. If you tweak the difficulty curve a little bit, I think this would be improved heartily!
Really quick and fun game, I loved it! It took me just a second to understand everything (because I tend to ignore a lot of info on the LD page), but after that, I think I did pretty okay ()! In my first three attempts, my high score is: 1386! Nice, simple and polished entry, keep it up! :beers:
That was really well done, I loved it ()! My only real complaint was having no choice over the body parts you harvested from your victims -- there were times where I *wanted* to make a minion, but in the end I only finished one, because during the game I could never find any arms to make another. Really clever though, I loved the variety between monsters and areas, everything feels so expansive, I'm surprised I actually ended up finishing it! As someone stated above, I really think this could've benifited from having consequenses for losing limbs, because as it is, the system works in effectively the same way a hunger bar would; constantly going down until you fill yourself back up (other than damage making it go down faster, it functions essentially the same).
But all and all, great job, keep it up! You three should be proud of yourselves! :beers:
That was the most interesting and unexpected thing I've played all jam ()! I grabbed my little siblings and we came over to try a handful of rounds -- and I've gotta say, even though it was lagging like crazy on our laptop, it was *suuuuuper* duper fun to play through, and it's ended up there with my favorites this time around! I loved the voice acting, each of the lines for your ending grade made me laugh, and it really nails the arcade game feeling to a tee!
I wish I had a way to play it without lag, but the computer I've been using for all the other games doesn't have a webcam, so I think this is the best I can do (). Fantastic job, I thoroughly loved every bit of it! Congratulations! :beers:
That was pretty neat, but *veryyy very* simple; although for what it is, I enjoyed it! I thought the monster's dialogue at the end was humorous, it made me smile, I do just wish there was that little bit more oumph to it -- for a Compo entry however, well done, I admire you people who actually come out with something during those 48 hours ()! I think you've got a good start on the art, I noticed the guy's collar kept disappearing, but that's just a nitpick, everything else worked well!
Not too much to say about this one, but you should be proud of what you came out with in 2 days! Here's a clap for a job well done, I'll see you next jam!
Wow, I love the country themed spy music, that was really great (). After getting through it, I really don't have a whole ton to say specifically -- it was simple and I enjoyed it, but I'll keep it concise! I loved that I was given a choice to leave *before* collecting all the corn, and while I wish that threshold was a little higher, it made it a ton less tedious to get through each of the levels; I would suggest you set a different barrier for each level (maybe 30% of the corn or so), just so you can't hop into and finish each level in the same amount of time.
Also I found it unreasonably hilarious when I found that the farmers have the worst attention span in existence -- they spot you stealing bags upon bags of corn and the moment you get out of their sight, they just move on with a "Huh, guess it was nothing, then."
Welp, for a 4 hour game, I like it, I'm not sure if I'd get anything more done in that amount of time if I tried ()! This seems like it would make a good test, though -- I'm interested to see what you would've finished with more time! I hope to see you again next jam, have a good night!
Real nice entry, it feels great to control ()! There is a *sharp* learning curve to it, as you die in one hit and it's not precise enough to reliably kill anything (without extensive practice). I loved circling the planets and watching my trail of grain get longer and longer -- the game is really satisfying to play, it feels so nice!
Overall, I liked it but I couldn't get very good at it in my few attempts; with a little more time put in, I could really get into this! Good job, keep it up (especially for a compo entry, I'm impressed)!
Hmmm... I can never seem to find a time to play this seriously, but I've payed attention to what there is while I'm solo, and like the person above, I'll mark it based on innovation for now (). If I find a chance to play this seriously before rating games ends, I'll definitely re-rate this, but I don't want all your ratings from everyone else to be taken away because there weren't enough of them who were able to try it at the time. I've got a good idea of *how* things work based on the description, and a good enough idea of how things *actually work in game* from playing it singleplayer. So of course, I can't give a fully fair rating without doing actual PVP, but I'll try my best to help you up to 20 ratings by tomorrow afternoon! :handshake:
Edit: I've done my part and promoted your game! Hope this helps! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/52/worlds-best-soul-harvester/$323220
*This was super great!* I don't play a whole ton of Metroidvanias, but this one was impressive and *really really* polished. I loved the platforming and the level design, the character feels great to use in the open *and* cramped spaces; the art of just about everything is really well made and consistent throughout -- I don't want to understate this, well done, it serves it's purpose wonderfully (especially with the character); and the music is seriously bopping, I couldn't help standing still at times just to admire it ()!
Astounding job, all of you! Here's a round of applause from me!
(also, the planet surface reminded me of "Dark Bramble" from Outer Wilds; not really much of a point towards the game, but I thought it was funny xD)
Really neat entry, it's simple but you also made it in an afternoon so I can't blame you ()! It's got a sharp learning curve to it! I played for maybe 7 or so minutes, and I could only make it up to 15; and while I'm sure I could get higher than that if I tried, I think 100 floors might be a bit too high for an ending (;P). My only suggestion I really have for this would be to add some sort of course correction after a jump (allow another jump in any direction perhaps? You'd have to make the mouse mandatory then, though).
Stinking great puzzle game! I couldn't beat the last level, but I loved it anyway ()! The graphics are simple but they do their job wonderfully, the music fits really well (adds a surprising amount of satisfaction to playing the game), and overall it feels really well done, it reminds me of "Baba Is You"!
My piece of feedback to give, is that there's a noticible difficulty spike from level 7 to level 8, enough to be jarring and pull me out of finishing the game; but other than that, I really enjoyed it! Great job, keep it up!
Really nice game, I loved it ()! It looks and feels exactly like what you were going for, along with avoiding being exactly the same thing; it's got the aesthetic, along with enough unique gameplay (and minigames) to differentiate it from the originals and be it's own full game! At times extremely hilarious (Celeste and Super Smash Bros. references made me laugh), and otherwise super charming game!
Great job, keep it up both of you!
Really nice submission! I'd say it needs a little sanding around the edges with things like graphics and such, but other than that I throughly enjoyed it! I really like playing jam games with voice acting, and this is no exception -- I don't know what it is, but something about DIY voice acting just fits these games so well ()! I really liked playing through what I did, but unfortunately resetting the game after death warded me away from finishing it; I'm not sure *exactly* what the alternative would be other than moving you back to the starting area with full health, but I don't think resetting is the best option, just because of the progression of the game (:cold_sweat:).
Super well done otherwise, I loved it! Good job (all 8 of you :O), keep it up, and I'll see you next jam!
Really really nice, I love the idea of this! Something about controlling a huge piece of machinery through multiple buttons and levers, keeping your eye out for pests and moving rocks out of the way with your giant vacuum clearner, regulating your pressure and fuel, *it feels like I'm actually in control of a machine, rather than being the machine,* which is something I get a lot with games like this. Other than that, I really hate how much the pests can destroy your mushrooms -- I had gotten to about 96 shrooms and I accidentally fell out of reach of the pest catcher button, while I ran into a giant mushroom and got bombarded with a swarm of them. I was left with about six or seven.
But I liked it a lot! Great job, I had a fun time! :beers:
Wow, that was hard to end and it turns out I was an upgrade away from purchasing all of them; I seriously thought I could go forever with the upgrades, but now the perfectionist in me is upset (:face_palm:). Really nice idle game! Long enough to be long, but short enough to avoid being tedious! I really loved getting to the late game and watching all of the harvesting happen in front of me, there's definitely an amazing sense of progression!
Wheat Master Feedback.png
The only suggestion I can really think of, is let the player harvest a crop while it's being auto-harvested (or plant seeds on a tile that's being auto-planted)! Other than that, I really liked it!! Amazing for a compo submission; keep it up! :beers:
Pretty short, but *really really* fun ()! My first attempt, I harvested 12 souls with 0 mishaps, and it was the funnest 50 seconds I've had this jam! I love the pixel art-ed faces, the random generation somehow always comes out with a recognizable/unique face I can spot in the crowd! The polish is great with the little info card, I loved the music (it added a *lot* to the experience), the concept is great and the result is hilarious!
Great job, all of you! Here's a well earned round of applause from me!
This might be my favorite game so far, it's flipping fantastic! And unreasonably hilarious ()! It feels amazing to run through, it's super smooth; it looks great, plays great, sounds great, I love the *"traditional google tabs"*! This game is super well made; it's above my level of expertise, so I really can't give too much feedback, but just know that each of you should be congratulated! This is great!
I don't know if this is what I was supposed to get outta this, but parts of that struck me as hilarious ()! Something about the voice acting made me laugh; I think it was Tommy's scream that got me, it really shouldn't have, but it did (;P). Other than that (the actual *game*, I mean), it was really nice, I love the graphical style -- I'm not sure exactly what to compare it to, but it made me happy to look at, I need to find more examples of the art. I don't think I got much of the intended experience unfortunately, though; I found that when the snatchers group together their AI can't find you (for some reason or another they forget you're there), and otherwise it's completely possible to outrun them. So I ended up just sneaking around until I ran into Tom, and then sprinting my way back to the house! xD
I *really* loved it, I congratulate you three; I personally didn't find it at all scary (I usually don't find games terrifying even if they try), but it was still nice to play through, I enjoyed it!
Wow, I really loved that, *great job!!* I keep seeing Compo submissions that beat out Jam submissions, and I think I found another one ()! It looks, sounds and *feels GREAT,* even though the idea isn't too complicated, it lends itself to a super chill, super fun to play game; I think this would do really well as a bigger game, but I'll leave that for you to decide (:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:). I don't actually have any negative points on this one, surprisingly enough -- wonderfully done, I thoroughly loved every bit of it!
(only thing I'd say, the game is *reaally* easy; and while that isn't necessarily a bad thing, it's a note to be taken anyways )
That was real nice! I was surprised to see a game that was actually created *for* the Gameboy, rather than mimicking it; even though I wasn't able to try it like that, it's impressive to know that it was done and done well! I really don't have much feedback here, the game was simple and easy to hop into, except for the cursor being a little slow to control -- I didn't understand *exactly* how the UI worked when I started, but after a little bit, I understood you could use some of the items on yourself, which was helpful ()! The puzzles were well crafted, though I really didn't get stuck on any; most of them weren't particularly challenging, and the ones that should've been somehow moved directly into place within my brain. But moving on, I congratulate you two for the end product, it's really well done! Keep it up, great job!
(I did die at the end because I convieniently forgot the clue that was given to finish the game :stuck_out_tongue:)
This was nice! It took me a bit to understand what to do (mainly because I wasn't paying attention to the information on the info pages), but when I did, I enjoyed what I got! I couldn't make it very far, because this happened, but it was fun to try out!
Seed Of Hate Feedback.png
It seems like it needs a bit more of a tutorial, I only really fully understood it coming back to look at the images on the LD page. Other than that, great job! Keep it up, I like seeing games like this!
@mantsje Thanks for checking out my game! I'm glad the tiny puzzles add at least a little to the experience; I was quite upset about ending up on another platformer so I needed *something* other than jumping in the game ()! I'm happy you enjoyed it and left me some feedback, have a good day, man! :beers:
@mitus Thanks for trying out my game! I really do wish I had spent more time trying to come up with more creative mechanics like that, but for the same reason the game is short --- I couldn't accomplish anything like it after all the time I spent being unsure of what I was creating ()! I'm glad you enjoyed it anyway, I hope I can make a longer, better game next time! I'll see you next jam!
@starlet Thank you so much!! I think it's important to note that the music wasn't actually created by me though; it was a robot that did it for me (:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:), so if you're interested in where it is and how the flip an AI created it, I've got the answer to one of those questions! I generated it at Ecrett Music (https://ecrettmusic.com/play), the place I go when I've run out of time to compose something!
@ravarion Ah, dang it, I was worried about that ()! The solution to the puzzle is simple when you look at it from a distance, but after having crafted it, I realized the platform you need to go to is on an area of ground you can't see without taking a leap of faith... What you're supposed to do is place the sack onto the bridge thats extending from the wall and make your way down and back underneath the bridge to drop it back into your possesion; therefore allowing you to continue onwards with the bag in hand! After realizing the platform the bag is supposed to drop onto is off-screen, I decided instead of re-tiling that section I would put a *slightly* obvious arrow under the bridge to key you in that there's something under it. It wasn't the *best* solution, because I knew for a fact some people would miss it entirely, but after having put colliders onto all of the landmasses I thought I'd take the lazy way out!
@la-bread Yeah, definitely -- those are literally the ideas I was having during the puzzle planning stage! :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
Something about the AI generated posts have a nack for making me laugh (). Really polished and well done entry! It took me a long time to understand, and I couldn't really complete anything meaningful in the time limit I was given -- but I did end up logging into someones email on my second attempt, so I'm gonna be happy about that ()! I seriously have nothing negative to say about this other than the complexity needing to be explained better; I'm sure I'd have an edge if I was actually a hacker, but I got the hang of it after a while! I love how it plays *exactly* like a normal internet browser, it makes the game super intuitive to play, everything works how I would expect it to, it's *super well done.*
Overall, I loved it! Great job, both of you, I'm excited to see how the post jam version turns out! :beers:
Really nice tower defense game, I like it ()! I love the twist of letting your plants grow before harvesting them, because it makes it a ton more interesting than just a reskin of any other tower defense game on the internet. Great ideas live here, good job all three of you! I liked being given access to a new plant each time, rather than *only* a new level, it made things less boring across three, pretty similar stages; the audio and visuals of the game were nice, but I was convinced the pumpkins were bell peppers at one point (:stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:)! I give each of you a round of applause, keep it up!
Real nice submission, especially for a Compo entry (I don't get how you guys do this so well )! It's nice and simple to understand, I immediately got the premise and could play the game to the fullest -- which can't be said about a lot of the other games I played. But that also means I can't give a *huge* amount of feedback, except for the parts that I really enjoyed about it; namely, I loved collecting more than two or three bits of light just to watch it create the little swarms (:stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:)! Half of me wished it had more than just geometric shapes for graphics, but the other half realizes that it makes the game look really sleek along with the lights and shadows, so I'm not complaining! Great entry, keep it up!
Pretty nice, I've gotta say (:yum:)! It's a simple but effective entry, and I really don't have anything I would personally change about it, other than implementing additional content (which is a given, this is a jam game anyway), and something about the way the camera pans didn't quite work too well on me -- not because anything *broke* persay, just because of how it felt to float to the edge of the screen just to get snapped back to the middle so I could progress to a different part of a screen. I may have prefered if it was more *"Mega-man"* style in the way it's camera worked, but then you also would've probably had to change the level design. ;P
Noice entry, I enjoyed it! Keep it up, and have a great rest of your jam!
Yay, I loved that! It feels just like a story book, you absolutely nailed the mood. I love the cute little illustrations, and even though it's really short, the whole idea of a "choose your own adventure game" in this style is fantastic! This is the first game I've played so far, and I've gotta say, this is off to a great start!
My only complaint was the inability to speed up the text, even when there's only a few endings, it get's a little annoying going through the same pieces of dialogue over and over again. Great job, both of you!
Nice job, I enjoyed that! There really isn't too much to the game, so I can't give as much feedback as I usually do, but I have a few points! For one; I think the dialogue was the highlight of the game for me -- even though there wasn't a whole ton of it, I was excited to hear what came next (), it fits the game really well and made me play a *whole ton* longer than I would've! Unfortunately, I *was* left wishing there could've been a little more to the gameplay, as after a while it gets repetitive with nothing else to grab your attention; I don't know if there was an ending, but I sought after it and gave up just a little while in because it was taking to long for anything new/more interesting-er to happen.
Otherwise, I did enjoy it! It was fun to sit down and mess around with for a little while, and you should be proud of finishing it in 48 hours!
Nice ()! I really love the colorful and cute artstyle of this game, and while I didn't last very long, it was fun going back in and trying to do better! I know a lot of this was probably on purpose, but the character felt *very* slow and slippery to control, which directly contrasted with the moments you needed good control on your character to survive; it made it hard to last as long as I wanted to, but hey, I'm also just bad at this game (:stuck_out_tongue:). I'm sure I could get great at this if I kept playing for longer, but for now I'm gonna move on to something else! Great job, both of you, keep it up!
Really really nice job, I've only got a few points of feedback for this one! This might've been me personally, but I think that the difficulty spike between the first and second round was a *bit* too steep -- I know the first round acts as the tutorial, but that means if you die on the second round, you have to go back through it again. Secondly (or as a fix for the last point), I wish it could've been a *little* easier to hit the enemies, or bring the concequenses for missing down a bit, because I found myself failing in high intensity combat just because I was a few pixels to the right or left of the collider I was trying to hit; it wasn't *bad* by any means, but I think that change would make restarting a lot less likely.
That said though, I really liked it, good job, all of you! Keep it up, and I'll see you next jam! >:3
Nice game, I liked it! It's a simple one, so I can't give too many suggestions for it, but I think I might've gotten further if instead of chickens insta-killing you, you could have lives tied to the number of pumpkins you have (getting hit you lose all your pumpkins, getting hit with no pumpkins kills you)! Other than that, I like it; I got a good 8 minutes of fun out of it, so I'm satisfied!
Keep it up!
Very nice game, I loved playing through it ()! I wasn't patient enough to actually finish it, but I got knee deep into the game and how it worked, and I really have no complaints! Really well done, I can see this being turned into a great game post-jam! (I personally would've made the game shorter, but that's probably just because I have the attention span of a cat :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:)
That was surprisingly fun for how simple it was ()! I don't have a whole ton to say about this one, but I wish it were a little easier to find the interactable objects -- Maybe a radar for your immediate vicinity, an arrow pointing at the closest plant, something like that! I liked the intermittent threat of the bird, it made gameplay feel a lot less stale after a while; I wish there were just a *little* more to it, I had fun with what there was, but it wasn't quite substantial enough for me to get hooked with it.
Overall nice, *very fun and easy to pick up* entry! Good job, be proud of yourself for making a video game!
That was a nice, really polished bullet-hell entry ()! I feel the theme is a bit loose (not *too* much of a problem), but I loved the game nonetheless. It's just really *sleek*, simple but effective graphics, nice background music with blippy (definitely a word), addictive sounds, the neon colors clearly separate the screen to your advantage, really really neat. I don't have a whole lot to say about it in terms of actual feedback, but it's a nice, fun, minimalistic, and challenging submission.
Great job, keep it up! (couldn't beat your score at the moment though)
Really simple, but effective entry! I wish there were a bit more to it, but I loved the Game Boy look, the bgm with the slowdown and such, just a polished little submission! Not much to say other than that, good job!
Nice, I enjoyed that ()! I really hope everyone who tries this has the context of your last entry cause man, that got a laugh outta me. I've got a few short points to touch on, but first things first, it looked, sounded and played great, as always. I've gotten through a good few of your guys' submissions, and they're always impressive to say the least, good job! :beers:
That said though, this felt just a *little* off to play. I didn't manage to get through the entire game, just because of the bullet hell sections -- they aren't bad by any means, believe me, but the bullets are too slow and too punishing; enemies will clump together when they attack you, and with the line by line attacks you have set up, they're either completely blocked with bullets, or even just one bullet in the way means you have to stand your ground in the corner until the path is clear (which is typically about 3 seconds, a *bit* too much for a bandit standoff). I found myself doing *reallyy* well down the path, until one encounter caught me in a bad way, and I was unable to defend myself, being brought down from full health on multiple well upgraded pieces, down to a game over.
I *loved* getting to create my own vehicle, I would've been so happy if that had more of a role in the game (just more abilities per part, rather than different ammunition)! Art was wonderful (seriously, good job as always), but as one little critique, the desert does have a little bit of a detail disconnect with the characters. I wish audio had a bit more to it, but what there was was nice! :3
Sorry for my paragraph of critiques, but I hope at least one of them was helpful! Great job once again, I'm excited to see what you've got in store for us next time! Keep it up, each of you!
Best game of the jam so far, in my educated/obviously correct opinion. Pixel art is *outstandingly* good for 3 days, all the little squash n stretch in the animation, superb character portraits, easy to understand but aesthetically pleasing UI. Just incredible. Audio, also fits *soooo* well, really really nice job from all of you.
I will say, the character takes some getting used to, but after some adjustment (just understanding the little slowdown during your landing frames) it feels so nice; The small scale level that you can memorize with the tough (just a bit too tough for my small brain xD) deadlines forcing you to prioritize -- I've got nothing *objectively* negative to say about this, other than the success animation not pausing the delivery timers, but really, fantastic job!
Oh my goodness, I freaking loved that! There was a *big* distinction between the cutscenes and the gameplay, and while I still really enjoyed the gameplay, it was the cartoon segments that I cared for in the end ()! The game is enjoyable, I loved how creative you got with the obstacles nearing the end -- requiring you to not only avoid hitting obstacles but swing your honey over them, and such. There were a few different sections that felt a bit *too* punishing in comparision to the surrounding ones (I'm talking about the *triple-tire-tunnel-TM*), but overall, it was challenging without being too difficult (:3)! *LOVED THE CREDITS, MORE PEOPLE NEED TO DO THIS, YOU'VE INSPIRED ME!*
Great job, all of you, keep it up!
Hooray, I enjoyed that, man! I didn't manage to beat it, but I really enjoyed what I got through! Ended up making it to the final day, but I never got anyone above 2 stars, so my chances on the final mission were always pessimistic. I love the portraits, the card combos, the little hits of humor in the mission descriptions, really nice job. I always love adaptive audio (in this case the music), clicking back and forth between the different sections of the game and hearing the music change in pitch and intensity was fantastic. I'm not always a fan of these games, but I can rate this one solidly at least! Great job, each of you, keep it up! :3
Good grief, that was *wayyy* more than I ever would've expected from a Compo game, what the heck!? Literally my favorite game so far in the jam, it looks great, sounds great, and *plays like a freaking dream.* Everytime I thought it would end, it just kept going -- I thought you'd have the one toy and continue on with a few harder levels, maybe change a thing or two, or add different defections, but there was just more and more!!! I played that for like 30 minutes (longest game yet, which was fantastic), and was completely entertained through the entire thing ()! Goodness gracious, that was an experience, and I'm not 100% sure I can give any critical feedback on it; I loved every second!! You're making me doubt my submission, you mad lad! >:S
Beyond fantastic job, now I demand you polish this up and charge $30 for it, get to work!
Hey I like this idea! It was a bit simple for my liking, I have to say -- but it looked and played fantastic ()! Combat was in my opinion, annoying, unfortunately; it's *much much* easier to just avoid enemies all together than risk hurting Pelobati, and usually get hit anyway while aiming. Not saying it was a bad idea to have enemies, but a little more work on it would improve what you've got, I think ()! Spikes were a bit hidden, I lost a few runs just to being oblivious to my surroundings, maybe increase the color contrast on them. :3
Other than that, platforming was really quite easy in the short time I had to mess around with it -- the triple jump got rid of vertical challenge, and horizontal challenge could usually be conquered about the same way. I *loved* the art and animation, the desaturated Gameboy esc palette really works wonders here!
Just one more thing: after receiving your delivery, it puts you into the new level, with a easily passable wall on the left side. Yeah, I broke it the moment I had a chance to, that's just how I am. Hehehe I broke it.png
That was really nice, good job! I loved getting to fly around in such a tiny, well illustrated solar system; the game looks really really nice, the little planets, the characters, super well done. Sounds really fantastic, music is superb for a jam game! There was a good deal of dialogue for how easy fast you get between planets -- that was a nice few minutes of gameplay, seriously!
@t-c Yeah, I get the little inconsistencies, writing dialogue was the last part of my jam, and little things like the font I was using not having end-quotes or the letter *Q* caused a few of those problems. Otherwise, thanks for playing my game and taking the time to write a little note about it! I really do appreciate it! :D
@jaydubbyasee Aww, thanks! The animal crossing audio was actually sourced from a site that aims to make it sound just like that! I was shocked to see there was a place for something like that, but it was used for "It Was All For The Tuna" last jam, and I decided it'd be a perfect fit here!
https://acedio.github.io/animalese.js/
@stellarnightmare, @castitatis, I'm glad you both enjoyed it, I spent a good bit of my time making sure the edges were sufficiently sandpapered -- I'm happy my polishing shines through!
@osh-studio Yeah, it wasn't as much as a priority to me as it should've been to fix that, whoops (). Oh hey, you're the first guy to mention the jokes! Jokes were actually the last thing I did, so I'm glad they turned out good enough, even if I stole some for the endless mode! :zipper_mouth:
(of all the things, I didn't expect *jokes* to be the hardest, but alas, I just had to go with a linear dialogue tree after 30 minutes of doubting my comedy skills)
@hanadulcet Hey, that's a great idea, I've gotta do that (xD)! I'm glad you enjoyed it, I tried my best -- comedy was difficult for me to get, and I really still count the text as placeholder dialogue, but I'm happy it worked nicely! >:3
Hope you have a great day, thanks a ton for trying out my game!
@mrtroy Haha, I'm scared of how difficult it would be without the backspace, that's hilarious! Really happy you enjoyed it, I try my best!
@oter Someday I'll find a way to send that guy out into the world, you'll see! Glad you liked it, polish is really important for me and my games, so I'm happy all my effort shines through! :3
@notdepressedeveloper Aww, thank you very much, man! I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it, thanks for playing!
@asieke The *"intended"* way to play my game of course, hehehehe
@aurel300 Nahhh, you don't need to apologize, I feel the same way about them ()! I can do *fine* at writing funny dialogue, but unfortunately it doesn't transfer over to comedy, especially when I give myself under an hour to write it. Endless mode is funnier, but that's literally cause I didn't write the jokes, haha ()! Line wrap is one of the things I have left to fix; I grew to not mind it much but I think it's a big enough problem to put some effort into, if I ever continue work on the game!
@stephen-kyranakis Thank you very much, kind sir!
@yuriscat Aww, thank you so much, I'm flattered (:3)! Really glad you enjoyed it, thanks for playing!! Humor is something I'm still *really* unsure about (it was written in under an hour and limited at that for ease of typing), but comments like this boost my confidence in it ()! Music was AI generated, but art was worked on with blood sweat and tears, glad it shines through!
@ardorugus No problem, someone had to do it, hehehehe :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: (family members were the ones who actually came up with the idea of a comedy show, so I'm really happy I decided to try it out)
Yay, that was a nice puzzle game! I didn't quite get stuck on any of them, I managed to blaze through each of them pretty well, but it felt great! It took a minute for me to understand how I was supposed to play the game, just because of the lack of a tutorial, but afterwards, it was really easy to get into! The game looks nice, sounds nice, and plays well, only big complaint would be that it *really* doesn't fit the theme, unless I'm understanding it incorrectly. I *somehow* managed to get stuck on one of the last levels -- and by that I don't mean I couldn't figure it out, I literally softlocked the game (); I forgot to set down my tiles before starting my character, and I put a down tile on the ground just as the guy was moving off of it, and because the state was already moving him in a different direction, it just decided to stop moving entirely. Restart button didn't work, skip button couldn't work, but thankfully I'm almost positive it was one of the last levels, so I didn't miss much!
Sorry for writing a paragraph that barely had anything constructive in it, but hopefully this helps anyway! Great job, keep it up! :3
Honestly, didn't get *quite* as frustrating as I thought I would, I didn't beat it, but I thought it was nearly as fun as it was annoying to me (). I love ragdolls so moving the guy around was just hilarious to me, after I learned that I could click near the ground to slide instead of jump, the game just became amusing (xD)! I wish there was a way for me to know how close I was to the end, but I almost got to *at least* two of them, so I can only hope that was good for my 15-20 minutes of trying. I might come back to this sometime to put my hand at beating it, but I've got some things to get done now, so I'll leave it for the time being. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
You nailed the classic *rage game aesthetic* it just blends in really well, you can tell at a glance what it's trying to do -- I would love to see this as a full game, even if I wouldn't be able to beat it, it just works that well. I've finished things like Getting Over It and such, so *mayyyyybe* with enough determination I'll overcome this obstacle all the same. Either way, LOVED it, great job! :beers:
First impressions are, this control scheme feels really good -- mouse based movement in zero-G is unexpectedly neat to mess around with ()! I'd say there are a good many ways this could be improved; sound effects hurt a bit, some are just peak the audio badly; and graphics/gameplay are a little bare-bones, but as a casual little endless shooter, it does it's job well! Avoiding the enemies is a little *too* easy in my opinion, they're quickly taken care of if you get in a scrape, and otherwise you're too fast to be caught by them.
Overall, pretty enjoyable little game, good job finishing something up! :3
Really really nice, I loved that! I found it *wayyyyy* funnier than I should have, but it was fantastic ()! Just the mixture of my little ragdoll guy flinging himself across the screen with the perfectly timed/acted falling scream, I just couldn't keep myself from laughing (xD)! It was more on the difficult side of things than I was expecting, but that's just a product of climbing, and it made getting to the top feel even more rewarding -- I'm glad there was a checkpoint though, I will say! It looked nice, sounded nice, and overall was just a really good play, nice job! Keep it up, all of you!
(never really understood the jump, so that probably added to the difficulty)
That was amazing, but my brain isn't wrinkly enough to finish it, my goodness that was tough ()! *Super* well designed puzzles, they feel like they belong in a fully-fledged game, but man was I stumped by them! I had to leave after level 6 but that was incredibly well designed, I loved the pre-puzzle cutscenes, I loved the little characters I had to push around, overall really great job -- I'm just not quite smart enough to get through it, hehehehe
Definitely could've gotten farther had I put more time into it, but I backed out of the game to get back to the title screen (tried through the pause menu to return to title and skip the level), only to find out I need to beat each level to progress. Great job, I might come back to this to try my hand at where I got stuck again; keep it up!
(I've got a problem with puzzle games where I get so caught up on an idea I have that by the time I actually have enough knowledge to finish the puzzle, I'm still stubbornly caught up on my last idea, effectively dooming my ability to get through the problem. That's how I think if that gives you any insight on why I got stuck!)
Wow, it's always great to see the games you guys produce!! I think it's inspiring how you can make a game work with such a simple, single mechanic (It Was All For The Tuna, Deepest Sword, THIS) -- and this one hasn't been any exception to that. I do have one or two critiques, mainly to do with the *health management.*
While the wall building mechanic was fun to mess around with, in the context of the game, and the punishment of building one in the wrong place, it makes health less easy to work with than I feel it could be... At the beginning of each round it feels as though it's impossible not to take damage with how many enemies there are in your way, and then by the end of it it's so easy not to take damage that there's no real threat to be had -- which isn't a problem by any means, but the way your lost health piles on over time makes it hard to deal with. I didn't beat the game, but I got to the final wave with only 5 or 6 health of my 30, because every battle before that I'd have to sacrifice health to get past the first brunt of enemies, and be left without a way to regenerate it (other than the occasional health based upgrades which were *fantastic,* if not a little too hard to go without for a random chance heal)
The mood of the game felt as though I was supposed to be taking it fast like a bullet hell, but because health management stopped me from rushing enemies, the best strategy was to wait around until one wandered into a corner -- and reading your description makes it sound like that's what you were going for, but with how many enemies there are, and the way the music and detonations contrast against that threw me off a little bit.
Other than that, I really enjoyed it, like everything you all put together! Most of my issues with it were really just because of the games that *I specifically* play, taking some lessons from there to this different genre. The art was lovable, the mechanics easy to grasp, the music well produced; I just had one or two problems to address, but it was amazing overall!
(sorry to come in with another paragraph of critiques, I hope my feedback is helpful! :S)
Wow, this was really really fantastic! Graphically superb, everything looks so clean and cute, it just fits so perfectly with how toy-like everything feels -- it also *sounds* incredible, the music really did it for me, again it just works so well with everything else. The puzzles were smart, but not too hard to grasp; I appreciated that you could skip forward to any level you wanted, though everything was crafted in such a way that there wasn't a time I wanted to move past a stage.
Seriously, your teamwork is incredible here, it's so polished and coherent all after a 3 day deadline. I actually can't think of anything inherently flawed that I experienced, so: keep it up, I look forward to seeing your next one! :beers:
Goodness gracious, I don't even know where to start. The art looks freaking insane, I don't understand who on the planet has the power to put together such a beautiful collection of game art in three days -- seriously it looks better than some commerical games I've sunk my teeth into, amazing job, whoever's to thank for it (). I know a lot of the content is generated while playing, but it replicates the feeling I get exactly while talking with people, hahahah. Sound design, along with the intensity the closer people get to you (heartbeat and such) is so perfectly put together. Finding ways out of conversations that I've sparked proved difficult, as I come off too friendly for my own good -- only escaped three of the five of them, hopefully that's not terrible. xD
Seriously, this might be my favorite of the jam, it's proven to be my favorite of the 9 I've played. Amazing job, all of you, I look forward to see what you put together next time! :beers:
Man, that was fantastic! I really loved the learning curve that came with finding how to control the snake. The way I could see myself getting better and better the longer I played *really* makes me wanna come back here for a high score. The snake reminded me of the slugcat from Rain World, and the controller reminded me of Snake Pass to an extent. Really loved the openning cutscene, I'll be looking to come back here when I get a chance!
Great job, all of you! Only problem I found was how easy it was to get stuck and tangled in your own body -- there were one or two places where I could barely squeeze myself out of a corner because my second segment was blocking the way. I look forward to see what you get out next time! Cheers! :beers:
Nice, that game was really fun to play through, I'm grateful I got to play it with a group! (played with @rincs)
Nice, I enjoyed that! I'm gonna *try* to keep an unbiased opinion as someone who watched through a good few hours of you making this, but we'll see, haha. I think your level design was superb, there really were a good number of different interactions you could squeeze out of the idea -- though I do wish it were more puzzle-y given the mechanic we're working with (I collected all 10 chalices only figuring how to grab them at a glance). And the way you introduce the main mechanic with animated souls (essentially, what portal does) was a creative way to explain it without a textbox, which I appreciate! :D
I really wanted my character to stick to platforms as I was moving them, especially for the last(?) area where the whole idea is to traverse upwards, back and forth across the screen. The art was really lovely, and I think you *nailed* the less is more aesthetic you were going for -- something tells me I'd benefit from an artstyle like this in my own games!
But, I'll end off by saying, this was *fantastic for your first Godot game!!!* I'd be proud if I could get anything done (especially for compo) only having learned the engine earlier that week. I may have to come back here and scale my ratings after playing more than *two games,* but overall, I loved that! Nice work, as always! :beers:
This is only the third game I've played, but I'm calling it, this is going to be my favorite of the jam. Your last game was my second favorite (my favorite being the one that got first place in JAM), and that team hasn't participated this time 'round, so unless something crazy comes outta nowhere... you've got this in the bag!!
The game looks and feels fantastic, the puzzles are insanely well done, if not a little ill-explained: the dialogue was hilarious, just everything, it's all so polished for a compo submission. I do wish there had been music or sound effects, but honestly I barely noticed the lack of them.
My BIGGEST problem, is just how counter-intuitive the mechanics can be. I found myself ready to leave on the second level and give this a remarkablely lower score, until I learned that the only requirement is that every outlet needs to connect to a wire, and those can pass through other parts. Specifically when it introduced the BAT 5000, and I had to pass a current through another disconnected piece on the board to power it. I really wish you had time to explain it better, the difficulty was *perfect* after learning how to play the game, but the learning curve just took a 90Β° turn upwards when the timer was introduced. Seriously, such a fantastic entry, I just wish you had a little more tutorialization, for silly people like me who don't know how phones work. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
AMAZING AMAZING entry, 5/5 stars -- I'm excited to see what you come out with the next time because so far, you've blown me away. See you next jam! :beers:
Really my favorite part about this were the physics based particles, I wish there were more games that had time to implement that kind of juice, haha. It was quite simple, and I really don't get how the theme plays much of a part here at all -- but it honestly was really fun for how much time you had to put it together, and I'd see that as a success! :3
No mouse cursor in the web version really bugged me, I'm assuming it has something to do with a custom cursor in the PC build? Other than that, the graphics were really well made, great job. I wish there'd been a bit more to it, but I congratulate you on getting something out there! See you next jam!
So glad you invested the time in voice acting, that's really what did it for me, hahahah. The whole campain was enjoyable, though because you *had* to rely on stickers for the majority of it, it left all the finished products looking about the same, which was a little disappointing. My favorite part was the free draw, though I only spent a little less than 4 minutes on it, making this masterpiece.
FreeDraw.png
Few things I would've liked: more colors to begin with, even just one or two more for the sake of free draw would've been nice, even if the story mode wasn't any different; changable brush sizes (though of course I don't know what you're using to draw the lines so that could've been hard); if it were possible to show more than four other submissions -- maybe even a submission viewer -- I would've like to see more free draw products without making a new one myself! :3
I enjoyed that, nice job all of you! See you next jam! :beers:
@kippp Done and done, sir!
@braktheman Thank you very much, my friend! I really did over-scope on this one I think; about half the work was done in the last third of the time I had, if that explains the bugs hahaha. It was a concious decision of mine to keep the trunk closed to begin with, I'd say I'm glad I did!
I really should come back here and work out each of the bugs, my brother found just about all of them after the game was published -- and I know what caused each, and every one of them (it was painful to watch). Either way, I appreciate you trying your hand at my game and being patient with it's issues, see you next jam! :D
@vikatoria To enter truck view, you need to either fill all the boxes and seal them, or fit all the items into as many boxes as you need and seal those! Sorry if it was hard to understand, I really should get a tutorial stuck in there, haha.
I was a little off put at first by the mechanic of colliding with your previous self, but after a headache or two (and a moment of the walkthrough) the puzzles got really really elaborate given the constraints you had. At times it could get frustrating going through each loop one by one, just to make a little error in execution -- especially with a HOLD check on the jump button instead of a PRESS check, so that every time I touched the floor I'd jump again; all in all though, the level design was the standout for me, amazing job! I didn't manage to get through every puzzle, just given the time I gave myself, but I got to level 13 and everything went smoothly aside from the initial tutorialization of the mechanics. I felt like the connection to the theme was more of a by-product of the mechanic rather than the inspiration for the mechanic, but honestly, it really did work well enough for me to overlook that while playing! :3
Congrats, the both of you! I outta find someone to help me put together my jam games if it means they'll turn out like this. I look forward to seeing what you two make next time, see ya! :beers:
Man, the art in this is astounding! I wouldn't really classify it as a puzzle game, but it was enjoyable, and made in RPG maker, I'm assuming? Your humor was one of the standout parts of the game for me, probably the reason I ended up finishing it! :3
Man, it took me a second to learn everything I needed to (what damages you, how to delete walls, etc.), but after that I really had a great time with it. I wish there were some kind of music on top of your sound effects -- even something you didn't compose -- but other than that I have little to no problems with it. It's definitely a little simple, but I barely managed something fun in 3 days, and the fact you came out with something enjoyable in a third of the time is really really impressive to me.
Sometimes the enemy detection on the walls can be a little strange, but that easily could've been born of my own misunderstanding, haha. As Adam said above me, all this is really missing is more visual/auditory polish, and you'll be in great shape! I enjoyed my time with this one, see you next jam! :beers:
Man, I just keep finding such great entries, at a certain point I *have* to find one that's worse than mine, right? (looks like you've got enough feedback, so I'll just say, nice job! You squeezed so much outta what I thought would be too simple a mechanic for a jam game, but you proved me wrong! :beers:)
Hey, I think I'm the one to push you over into 20 ratings (:D)! This was really enjoyable while being equally *really really* difficult, haha. I mean, that's an exaggeration of course, but I found myself waiting for a "lucky run" rather than truly getting good at the game. I love the 1-bit aesthetic as a generality, and I think you did it justice here -- the music can get a bit repetitive, but other than that, great job! There may be a bit more balancing involved, or even another mechanic, just so you can consistently get a good run on the game rather than waiting for the box to move towards a coin on it's own.
Good job, I enjoyed my time with this one! :beers:
