Game has pretty good sounds and funny story, although there isn't much to do while wheat is growing and the grass texture looks a bit weird. Other visuals like harvestable weed, cart and sky look spectacular!
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD52 → Wheat Reaper

The story was really funny. Damn greedy farmer. For me the harvesting animation felt a bit slow with the delay before the harvesting happened. Would have been nice if there was some goal or "conflict". Now I didn't find much purpose why keep harvesting.
"I initially jumped in to learn how to make sounds for my games myself, and as you can kinda see I failed miserably at it." You don't need to worry about that, personally for me Game Jams aren't about perfection, if they serve the purpose and it is fitting, then it is totally fine, which applies for that game. The Audio was good :)
Good: - Simple Concept - Simple Loop - Details for regrowing fields (Visuals, Fields do not regrow in the same order) - funny dialogues - chill audio
Bad: - nothing too apparent
Ugly: - too simple loop, a few seconds are wasted into idling
The concept and music are really good! Maybe the graphics can be improved. Also, I suggest allowing players to skip the dialogue a little bit, since they are pretty long.
For a compo submission it's pretty impressive. Graphics are good, audio fit in and the story is hilarious. The loop lack of difficulty, something to annoy you during the harvest. It's pretty solid !
The idea of tricking the Death into harvesting wheat is cool! The only thing is that I'd like some challenge in the game.
Anyway, good job!
The wheat frowing was very satisfying. I like that the growth rate was randomised, so I couldn't do the same pattern all the time. Dialogue was great. I did a couple fields worth then gave up, as it started to feel too repetitive.
Fun little harvesting game, enjoyed the idea of Death reaping wheat! Would have been nice if there were a few more gameplay decisions/actions that could be taken.
You made me fill up 3 carts :D So I guess a really good job, shame it didn't have an end... or does it?
I make this mistake as well, too much polish, too much detail, and too little gameplay. I love the pixelart, I like the animations, also the sounds and music are very good.
Nice job, I enjoyed that! There really isn't too much to the game, so I can't give as much feedback as I usually do, but I have a few points! For one; I think the dialogue was the highlight of the game for me -- even though there wasn't a whole ton of it, I was excited to hear what came next (), it fits the game really well and made me play a *whole ton* longer than I would've! Unfortunately, I *was* left wishing there could've been a little more to the gameplay, as after a while it gets repetitive with nothing else to grab your attention; I don't know if there was an ending, but I sought after it and gave up just a little while in because it was taking to long for anything new/more interesting-er to happen.
Otherwise, I did enjoy it! It was fun to sit down and mess around with for a little while, and you should be proud of finishing it in 48 hours!
Thanks everyone for the feedback!
I feel the point about the lack of gameplay - it's something I wish I had more time to work on. As I did point out in the description, my focus was sound design, and it took me a good half of the entire 48h development time. When I was publishing it I actually felt bad about the quality of the audio, but, since a lot of people here liked it, that means my worries were baseless. Thanks everyone again for the kind reception!
And I'd like to point out again that the harvesting is endless and it is the only aspect of the game, so don't make the mistake of trying to harvest it all in hope for something new happening - it's just as simple and plain as it could be.
To add to the other feedback I think making the mouse click an input when there is need for moving the mouse feels clumsy. I think the harvesting button could have been "E" as well.
This is the ultimate combination of the two interpretations of the theme  I liked the comments from the farmer and the music was really fitting.
One suggestion would be to add some sound or other indicator when you try to havest with 10 wheat in your bag. I ran into this situation multiple times and everytime thought this is a bug at first
As already mentioned the gameplay is a bit more on the simpler side, but still a cool entry!
Very simple and relaxing game. Also you didn't fail miserably at making sounds, these were excellent for a first time. I love making sounds and I'm still terrible at it. Just gotta keep trying :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
The dialog was pretty funny, the reaper being sucked into working by a farmer with a powerful personality. Excellent work :heartpulse:
Think I maybe looped through to many times. Even the game lost it and the farmer said some eh... unreadable text  great little relaxing game. The vibes were awesome. Great Job!
Fun idea for the intro. I really wanted to click to speed up or advance the text though. Would have liked to see something change after a while :)
looks pretty good concept!!! i loved it..but i was waiting for an end..i loaded 4 times i.e. harvested 30*4 crops but it was endless...i suggest after few crops the farmer itself sacrificing his life will be quite connecting...otherthan that functionality wise and art wise it is so so good ...pixel art is preetyyy cute...
Nice pixelated aesthetic - and really nice music. I laughed at the start with the little misunderstanding. Nice idea. The main gameplay is a little bit confusing for me and I would like to see some tutorials. However after a while, I understood. I had fun playing. Solid entry. Thank you for your feedback about my own project. I wish you the best. Stay safe ++
