I had some issues with the responsiveness of the controls. I felt that there is a small delay (but noticeable) to pick up the boxes.
There are pauses in the movement that take away the fluidity a little, especially when she falls to the ground.
The jump too, she doesn't change direction when she's in the air.
But otherwise, I loved the game! Art, music, everything great!
Gosh, the art, sound, and general polish on this was amazing. I would have loved to see some more hints as to where the packages should be delivered, as I got a little confused on that front. Other than that, great submission!

@guigagliardo the movement is on purpose, we wanted more committed movement to give it that arcade feel that plays off the box mechanics, when you master it you can really move though!
@slimefriend the compasses highlight where you should go :D

Impressed by the quick and pretty polished game you guys had for the game jam! Love the style art music and hectic atmosphere it has going for it. As mentioned above it is a little slippery but that sounds like it was intentional. One thing was it is a little harder to just place a box once you are moving as I found myself throwing it a lot when trying to move. Great submission!
"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times but in the end it was delivery time" - Direct 100% real quote from the game.

the art is sooo good!! <3 the game is super sweet and i loved how the boxes pointed where to go!
there was an issue while playing the game on edge browser (the game would stay blank after the credits), i was able to workaround it by running it on chrome instead.
Best looking game I've rated so far, and it's got more menus than all my previous games combined! I did feel myself getting a little frustrated from the pauses you get when descending or landing any jump, and the couple jumps that really needed full jump height kept tripping me up, which made the time pressure feel worse. I really liked the package throw, but unfortunately it didn't seem like I really needed it as running past enemies simply works better. Overall a really polished game where any moment looks fantastic.

Was really looking forward to playing this one but I just can't get it to load. I press play and it plays the music but I just get a black screen. Strange because WebGL is working for every other game. Really disappointing because the art looks awesome and the music sounds great!
The art is sooo lovely and cute! And the menuing and sounds are really great as well! The inertia of the movement is a bit frustrating when it makes you slip of a platform, especially since the level design seems a bit cramped but nothing a couple of tiny, itsy-bitsy adjustements couldn't fix! Awesome game !
The art and audio is so impressive!! I think there are some issues in level design and jumping responsiveness since some part of the map is too narrow to jump through. Fun game!

This is a really polished and well made game. You can tell this team has been making games for a while. The art and music are truly amazing and some of the best I have seen in a jam. The characters and whole vibe of the game was also really enjoyable. I enjoyed the design of the game too. The compasses and coloured packages were very intuitive and easy to understand. I did struggle with the movement a few times. I know it is trying to be closer to the more arcadey style of movement but I often found the player too slidey and just fell of some platform as I landed on them. It was a bit frustrating initially since I fell to the bottom early and it took several missed packages to get back up. Maybe after a few plays I will get used to it and I admire the dedication to the mechanics style. Awesome game though, one of the best and most polish games I have seen this jam!

Art is really polished, the music was catchy enough to get me humming it as i got more into the game. Got some problems with the controls, as sometimes the character couldn't submit the package, and throw it instead. The primary loop it's great, and i hope to see more games like these!

Very nice game. The character feels a bit clunky to control and the gameplay loop is pretty repetitive, but my god, the game is dripping in charm. The graphics are fantastic, the animations are cute, and the big talking heads (while quite distracting) look wonderful as well. Great job!
Awesome stuff! Loved everything, art, music, game design and the characters too! Great work! I had an issue trying to play it on Brave browser, I don't know why? But it worked wonders on the Chrome so it's fine.
Wowow this honestly goes crazy!! The art ofc initially drew me to the game because of how clean it looked! The game itself was so fun! I feel a little weird about the controls but it was awesome!!

the game has a really charming artstyle and the audio really helps it. My main issue was sometimes i kept throwing the boxes in an attempt to deliver them which caused either the package to break or be late. I do like how the map design plays into different routes to get around. I hope to see a post jam version with more content and possibly abilities? (i really want to carry multiple boxes but thats because im bad at gaming lol)
This is cute and has a great art style. I will say that I think the slide when landing on platforms is a bit much, almost like an ice level in other platformer games. But very well done overall, quite the team you had there.
Best game of the jam so far, in my educated/obviously correct opinion. Pixel art is *outstandingly* good for 3 days, all the little squash n stretch in the animation, superb character portraits, easy to understand but aesthetically pleasing UI. Just incredible. Audio, also fits *soooo* well, really really nice job from all of you.
I will say, the character takes some getting used to, but after some adjustment (just understanding the little slowdown during your landing frames) it feels so nice; The small scale level that you can memorize with the tough (just a bit too tough for my small brain xD) deadlines forcing you to prioritize -- I've got nothing *objectively* negative to say about this, other than the success animation not pausing the delivery timers, but really, fantastic job!
probably the most polished game ive seen here. for the life of me i couldnt figure out if there is a way to start the game through the keyboard. had to switch to controller. seems a little weird to me to not have keyboard controls for a game downloaded from a browser, or at least some message on the title screen to say controller only. other than that the game is fantastic. Art style goes crazy!
Great submission! I enjoyed the gameplay, it's simple but felt tight. The art and music really made the game shine and gave it a lot of personality.
One of the most beautiful games I've seen in this ludum dare. Just wonderful. I think this is one of the most complete games I've seen. Only praise from me. And just one thing to comment: I had difficulty delivering the boxes. Many times I would press both buttons and just jump and throw the box. I don't dismiss it as my fault, but you can have a look just in case. Congratulations!

THIS WAS AMAZING. PLEASE I NEED AN ARTBOOK, THANK YOU <3
This is super impressive, kudos to you and your team. Other commenters have already sung appropriate praises to pretty much everything about this game so I don't know if I have anything new to add, I just think you guys did amazing. The gameplay loop is well suited for a jam-sized game and it fits the theme perfectly. The platforming can feel a bit stiff at times but it didn't detract much from how much I enjoyed this one.
I also wanna say, nice work on the menus, screen transitions, and game over screen. Adding stuff like that goes a long way in making the game feel more complete and helps set it apart from others.
I see the art and think "oh shit this one looks good", I see the credits and think "damn this is gonna be one of those great ones", I see the loading transition and think "here we go" then the intro music is awesome aaaaaand black screen, doesn't work, I still get music so I'm not sure what the issue is. I'm on linux so I can't download unfortunately, won't rate it obviously but I'd love to know if the html5 version ever gets fixed (unless it's only me) so I can play it

@ixil-miniussi can you open up the inspect panel and see if there’s an error? Should be Ctrl i on chrome
@squidly "WebGL warning: texImage: Requested size at this level is unsupported." is all I see
Extremely excellent work, especially the artstyle, wonderful!
The amount of polish on this is insane! music is a banger! the only nitpick i have its on the delivery ui, i mean, after playing it for a bit i understood perfectly what you were going for, but at first was kinda confusing! other than that, this is an AMAZING entry!

I'm impressed by how polished everything is! The art, animation, music all fits really well together. My only complaint is that the movement feels sluggish - it does make the game challenging to master, but I think it makes it less fun to pick up and play.
I think this game could be expanded into a great couch multiplayer game. Imagine several people frantically trying to make their deliveries, maybe with powerups to slow others down or speed yourself up. I would buy that.

My friend recommended the game to me from seeing it on twitter, it's so cute!! Love the graphics and music, the vibes are impeccable. :) The movement is unruly, but I've seen on other comments that it's intentional. Great game all around, good job and congrats to the team!
Solid, polished entry - the graphics are just perfect and I also love the sound. Maybe a touch more friction when landing would be useful - I found it difficult to judge correctly to avoid sliding off smaller platforms.

Wow, what a game! That's ultra polished. Awesome graphics and animation. The soundtrack is fantastic. You seem to work super well together as a team, great great job!
I absolutely love this entry!! easy to understand gameplay, looks amazing, super polished, I'm in love with the character designs and the color palette. I had to retry a few times because the slipperiness made it really hard for me to go up quickly at first, but once I got the hang of it it was super fun!! Oh, also, I love the music. amazing all aroung :3 !!

Holy moly I love this entry. The art is so cute and everything is so polished - seriously, this is super impressive stuff!!
I do wish the penalty for throwing packages wasn't so harsh though - being able to toss things in different directions without them breaking would really spice the game up with some more interesting routing options. Maybe that's just my Payday bag-chaining instincts failing me, though.
Either way, great work!!
Wow this is a gorgeous game. You guys have such a cute main character. I love the consistent mood throughout, art, music, gameplay. It all meshes well together. That slidy movement though, I will need to get used to.
THE ART IS GORGEOUS!!! :two_hearts: I love those character portraits that appear after delivering the parcel!!! But since I came from itch.io I was confused how to confirm (nothing pressing random keys can't fix)

One of the most polished games on the art front I've seen so far! Gameplay is pretty good too, and there's definitely a learning curve! I haven't found any shop, which is a shame considering the kind of currency you get while playing the game. Does it just go on forever? But still, for such a short amount of time, this is very impressive! Congratulations!
Very cute game, feels polished. The movement feels a bit floaty, I'm guessing it is to add difficulty. Tough to master!

Hey team, impressive entry! Also, Squidly, I recognize you from Renaine game, been following that project on Twitter! Cool to see the team competing in game jams.
Really love the pixel art (nice chunky outline and color scheme) and the music. The SFX and environment all felt compelling, especially with the little villagers having dialogue after you delivered a package, reminded me of Animal Crossing a little bit and thought it was really cute
As mentioned, I did struggle with the controls a bit. Doesn't seem like I could drop down through platforms when I sorta expected to given the nature of it being a platformer. Also, the overall movement seemed a bit laggy. I sense there is some mastery to be gained, so I want to come back and try again with a gamepad soon.
All in all, really solid entry and I imagine your team will rank really well. Good work!
Super cute, love the music and art! Movement doesn't feel nice. I made some efforts to master it over a few games but it isn't engaging to me :) Very impressive levels of polish!
This was beautiful! The art is super charming! I played with a controller and thought the controls were really smooth, just your standard momentum delay/glide. Maybe a bit much for some, but it felt really nice once you got the hang of it!
What a charming little platformer! The controls felt a little stiff sometimes, but great music and the presentation has a lot of personality. Awesome entry, nice work!
Really nice graphics of course! A lot of style, juice and polish in this game. I will say that the game screen is a bit heavy on the eyes when everything shares the same saturated color, it takes away depth which makes it hard to focus and follow the character and anticipate changes in the scene. It took me more than a few seconds to figure out where the packages were meant to go - i thought the boxes were telling me the direction of the house but that didn't seem to be correct. I also would have liked more variety in paths and reasons to take them since it was only 3 locations you were meant to go back and forth from. The playspeed was a litle slow for me and it felt like it was begging to go faster! The music atmosphere and cohesion of all the visuals were really impressive and it's a shocking level of polish for an LD entry. Great work team, keep jammin'!
graphically and in terms of mood/universe it's very enjoyable --- all sugar-coated, cute, pastel --- the little conversations with the clients are nice too --- that being said in terms of mechanics, I was extremely frustrated by the speed condervation, it would knowk me off platforms and basically mess up many of my trajectories ^^# --- maybe it's because I haven't playued anough classic mario 2d games _[mea culpa lol]_ but yeah I'd go for something that's much more instantaneous and direct --- great game nonetheless, wemm done :-) :sparkles:
I love this game

Visual style and sound is really well done. Really polished game for a jam! Super cute characters, and love the animal-speak during the dialogues. Overall just very charming :)
I did find the gameplay loop to be pretty repetitive. Would be nice if there were more mechanics to change things up, or some randomness.
UX Wise: I was stuck at the title screen for a while, not sure which button was continue. Was trying to press Space, Enter, click, to get to the "instructions". In the end I had to look back at the game page to see Z, X were the keys being used. The instructions then told me to press Z, X, so that wasn't very helpful. Would suggest also supporting alternative keys for continuing on menu screen.
Also not a fan of the controls. It feels like I'm wrestling with that instead of being challenged by the game mechanics. It sounds like that's what you were going for, but that's not really fun for me.
The package arrows also confused me until I knew where each package always went. I think the problem is arrows are locked to 9 cardinal directions instead of always just pointing to where the target is. I think making them analogue, and also not spawning additional packages until the player has successfully delivered their first package, ramping up the difficulty as the game progresses, would make it easier to understand going in.
Lovely graphics with a fun gameplay loop. I especially like the characters and their designs. A few observations: I've noticed that one can fairly easily place down the package inside of walls in a way that prevents you from being able to pick them back up, as well as, if you walk/drop off an edge you are still able to perform a jump in mid air as if you were grounded. It would also be helpful to add the controls to your itch page. I had first come across your game there and I was at a lost on how to start before visiting you submission page and seeing the controls there.
Super cute art, controls feels great but the landing feels heavy. Not a great challenge, I was never bothered by the critters so I leave them alone.
I loved the characters and the scenery, very charming.
Really cool art style and polish. The player's control is a little too slippery for me. Perhaps a little mid-air character control might help offset that. Regardless, the game loop creates fun challenge trying to balance speed and risk of delivering packages in good condition.
Loved the art style and the audio. Really polished overall, gets really hectic when you're juggling packages towards the end, however as many have stated the controls are a bit iffy at first, until you get used to them, game would of benefited from classic platformer physics/controls, would made things a little easier on the player but that's totes nickpicky and overall it's a fantastic little game!
5/5 The art and audio is so polished!!
The art, animations, and style of this game are so cute and terrific! And once I got a grip on what the map was like the route went way better (which is 100% accurate for when I was a delivery person myself; learning my surroundings helped sooooooooo much!).
And seriously, this is soooooooooooo cute!!! 🧡
I never thought I would get something like it for a game so polished, but I think that the controls are the worst in this game. Sometimes I feel like the character is moving on his own.
I played this on Newgrounds, and it's not related to the ranking but I like how you can play both version with a single game.

I was also struggling a little bit with the movement in my first playthrough, but I didnt realize the box was influencing it until I came to comment and saw your first response so went and played again. It definitely opens up a lot more once you take the box carrying movement into account. I think it encourages you to throw the box around, but at the same time the box takes damage if it drops too far which discourages it so it seems like 2 mechanics working against each other. I think you are just supposed to balance the risk / reward, but when the npcs comment on the condition and you're graded for it in the popup, I think my tendency would still be to hold the box the entire time.
On top of that, I feel like sometimes my inputs were eaten. If I was holding the box and holding right against a wall and jump. I would expect to still move right onto the platform above, but sometimes I would have to make a second jump. Sometimes I wouldn't have any air control either, regardless of if I had a box. And after landing you seem to slow down a little bit (not as much as with the box, but still noticeable).
*decided to try post jam version in the middle of writing this* all the above issues seem pretty much fixed, feels great! xD The only issue I see now is the text is still blurry for me. I thought that's just how it was supposed to be because its like that in your screenshots, but the download version is very crisp. Other than that, the only other thing I would have liked is slight coyote time and jump input buffer. And maybe being able to control the direction of where I throw the box. Sometimes I accidentally threw the box instead of placing it could be nice if holding down and pressing throw would just place it if you are grounded, but you have the option to throw it straight up as well (or down if you are airborne). Also if the delivery expires while youre holding it, you are still in the carry animation
I know I wrote a lot of critique, but the game is VERY good other than the movement issues that you already fixed. It's bursting with character like all your other games I played and crazy amounts of polish, great sound design, and engaging platforming. Good job to you and your team Squidly!

Very nicely polished game. The art is awesome and the music, too! The platforming controls are kind of weird and unresponsive IMHO. I have seen others mentioning this and you might have fixed that in the post jam version but I only played the jam version so far. Overall it is a solid entry
