Abyssus in Anima by Tygrak 2021-05-05T19:51:06Z
the dummy and gameplay at the start made me think too much of undertale, but after playing this, it's much more different is a good way. I love the music aswell!

the dummy and gameplay at the start made me think too much of undertale, but after playing this, it's much more different is a good way. I love the music aswell!
While I usually don't support fish on fish violence, this is an exception, the fish feels kinda sluggish to control but otherwise it's a funny game with a groovy tune!
wow, nice visuals and audio, the gameplay was cool too. I'm not too great at this game but after looking at some speedruns, this is insane. Good job!
nice visuals and sounds, but I found myself taking damage for no reason sometimes and since the level is preset it feels like a puzzle to get from one room to the next, but I couldn't figure out the route. Good game though.
Really good! The art, the music, the controls, the gameplay, it all works so well. If there was a level select or a menu to adjust things like volume, colors, and maybe music, this would be perfect. Nevertheless it's really fun and addicting, great job and keep up the fantastic work.
(p.s, perhaps add a feature or two for players who aren't that great at the game like me?)
cool game, I found myself really enjoying the movement and jumping for some odd reason, the momentum in this game is great!
Solid storytelling, the text speed and use of "World War I" was jarring but it was enjoyable. THe animation at the end makes it all worth it.
Gameplay and controls are solid, I enjoyed the small optional side upgrades which provide a fun self-imposed challenge. The sound effects also really help set the atmosphere!
the game was a bit too short, would've loved to see more. some music also would've went a long way. The art is amazing and adorable though and I've enjoyed every second of this brief adventure.
while the game is solid the mouse sensitivity is really high, the area is also very large and sometimes it's annoying to find some of the pills. Finally the red nightmare level lags when I look forward which makes it nearly impossible to progress. It's a solid game but there is definitely room for improvement.
the sensitivity is a little too high for my liking still, but definitely an improvement, the red level is also playable but still a tad bit laggy
Very cool game! The transparent levels were jarring at first but really easy to wrap my head around with a good secret that warranted a second and third playthrough, everything is really well done, the only issue I had at times was how the item text was solid black and hard to see at times. Otherwise, solid!
@juanv when you go automatically right, is this after you attack Chester? If so, jumping automatically fixes it.
Solid game, while it's not for me, it is really fun and the art/animation/effects really add a lot!
pretty cool warioware-like game, it is pretty hard tho
really neato game with a unique premise!
Really fun game, I love the ending level and the general level structure. It was great for the introduction to show how the clock arm moved only to use it in puzzles, but not overly rely on it which was very tastefully done! Also as a semi-color blind person myself (red green color blindness) I really appreciate the setting!
I love your art style, its impressive to see so much done with sprites and stuff in so little time! it's a bit hectic and fast but its still kinda fun!
I only bothered with the first two endings but its still fun nevertheless, my only issue is that because the game's obstacles work on a grid, trees that look like I can squeeze through don't let me through which does make that part a bit disorienting. Pretty funny
Really fun, I kinda wished there was an endless mode ngl. I loved the time bomb mechanic and how overpowered the bombs are, it makes the moments where there isn't one on screen more tense. LOVED the artstyle and effects!
It's a good concept, maybe include some background elements so the player has a sense of orientation? also there are no telegraphs for the attacks so it feels a bit unfair. Aside from having nothing to do with the jam theme, its a pretty good submission!
Really innovative with the theme, having to account for the next phase while being shot down or hunted, its really fun and I could see this as an app i'd kill time to!
I literally cannot play this after that fall bro, this is terrifying. I could see this as a steam release. Yeah no, the game is great, but I am a coward.
its def unique, maybe having the controls be based on keyboard inputs would be better? I kept finding myself soo close to the right input but barely running out of time!
I've seen a couple of these top down hoard shooters and so far I think this one implemented the 10 second aspect the best, movement felt good, my only issue is the game gets a bit stale after you circle around the enemies and create a group that can be a bullet sponge.
Solid game, I did wish there was a sort of sprint button but it does make sense. I'm only upset that I enjoyed working a minimum wage job lol.
Funny
Maybe because im a fast and cool gamer but I didn't see the point of the 10 second timer and variety of enemies? Still kinda fun with how easy the movement is.
Nice use of 3D objects alongside the 2D gameplay, my only issue is that some sprites accidentally look the same (Im sure that's a part of the challenge) I do think the memory game is pretty cool tho.
I loved the metroid-vania aspects with how each time you play you make more and more progress. Good pacing as well.
I like the model work and art! I did feel a bit cheated with how the enemies were just reskins of each other. Maybe some enemies that act differently during each phase or something could make each phase more unique. Again the art is great and a defining part of the game for sure!
pretty cool, maybe a step by step tutorial would have been helpful, nevertheless the game was fun (especially when equations got involved)
QTE the game, I loved the non-movie assets like the flourishes, room, and sprites. Playing it just made me wish you guys did more original content or atleast meme it up more like the bee back prompt!
Loved the grapple mechanic, I wished there were air bubbles or something underwater so you could go deeper and deepr, but thats not necessarily the theme this time around! Pretty fun
I loved the mood of the game, some ambience music would've been preferred. It's a good pattern reaction game and the feel of the game is simple yet effective. If only there was variation or if each correct answer reset the clock there would be a good amount of replay value. I really hope you flesh this submission out after the jam, I'd love to kill time with this atmosphere!
its a solid pico 8 game, I like the incentive to fire before your wand overcharges and the other types of enemies!
Very Hotline Miami inspired im guessing? especially with the quiet moments after each level. I really like the concept and the change in feeling from being a powerful force with a gun to a scared pac man. well done on the mood!
AAAAHHHH THISI S SO GOOD I LOVE IT as a fan of ace attorney I love this interrogation style of game, my only gripe was that the vocal lines were longer than 10 seconds so I would have to withhold from asking the next person a question. Thankfully I was able to enlargen my cranium and book em all on the first go around. I really hope you guys do a full version with a more generous time limit without the pressure of a jam.
man, I love how brutal this game was, it reminded me a lot of Hotline Miami, good implementation of the theme!
The game was weird to control and should be explained better but after learning how it worked it was fine. My major issue is that I have no idea what to do as I believe I tried every object in the room. I'd love to see an updated version with similar controls and more clear objectives!
LMAO I love the death animation reference for the farmer!
really fun gameplay wise, I think the formula of on and off beats could work well if you all decided to make a post jam version! For the tutorial it would've been perfect if there was a looping temp at 60bpm or something to ease the player into combat, I found myself spamming the attack to the beat but it did feel like I wasn't doing much. Maybe include a sound effect akin to Patapon that emphasizes your key press, subtle feedback like that would be appreciated. I do like the menus and UI, only issue is that I couldn't select stuff from the main menu with my keyboard, a little arrow or highlighted text would have been nice. Overall I dig the music, art, and overall gameplay and I really hope you fellas make a post jam version!
The music, sound effects, and screen shake really helps to make the game feel good, Only complaint is the difficulty, while I can see how letting a spore unchecked could go horribly wrong, I felt that as long as you dodged the slow projectiles and camped the barn for health, you could just return to the field after all the spores died. Aside from the barn being overpowered by regening all your health at once, good game feel!
chrome_ZoIfgyEfTA.png I like the gameplay loop but after the jetpack the rest of the plants became kinda unnecessary unless you don't have the O2 upgrades. I also think the jetpack could be a bit cheaper and maybe some indicator on how much resting at home costs? overall pretty fun Really cool that you could actually play this on an NES!
Nice idle game with some puzzle/resource management elements. I love the seamless loop in music and especially the lick lol!
REALLY HARD (didn't use walkthrough though) had to play the game multiple times but I did it. Only gripe is the traps by the farmer are really unfair/hard and it felt like brut forcing it is easier. Sweet ending though! Oh also nice touch that you can't understand the humans!
I love how the enemy corpses become terrain, makes it harder if you don't plan ahead!
As someone who beat the game, LMAOOOOOO WHAT A TURN OF EVENTS! Would've loved to see more with this cast of morally ambiguous animals, maybe another mystery?
Idk if im just a hardcore gamer but i beat the game in a few mins, I feel like if the debt was a bit more or if there was a new game plus (go for higher number, maybe have rent or other expenditures) to keep going. Since I beat the game soo quickly I also didn't really upgrade the goblin fella much. I think a tutorial or atleast explaining what each mechanic does would've been nice (idk what deftness was). nevertheless I beat the funny goblin game!
Could find all the Artijokes (19/20) but nevertheless had a blast, I'd love to see a larger release with maybe more areas after the ship gets fixed, the art/animations were amazing. My only nitpick is difficulty in platforming, sometimes id hit my head on a ceiling and that would kill my jump, also while you said the darkness not killing is a bug, i think it would be a cool feature to hide something within those areas in the dark. Nevertheless, banger entry!
Love the main character and art style, the beats are also bumpin, would've liked a volume slider though
I tried playing the web player version but it starts glitching out and freezes. I really hope you add a bug fix so I could try it!
I used Google Chrome
I FREAKING LOVE THIS, as a fan of old 3d platformers like Mario 64 and Banjo Kazooie, I loved wandering around and collecting everything 100%. I can 100% imagine this as a full steam game with levels, extra moves, collectables, boss fights, music etc. AAAUGH ITS SO COOOL
chrome_3BsKbU5Q4w.png
Speedran it and got this time!
barvest wr.png update, new speedrun PB record, I DID make a mistake or two so the record could be lowered easily
I like the gameplay loop and replay value, my only gripe is that the controls are in the description, it took me until my second playthrough to find out how to use the bow. Solid short experience. Maybe also include test near the sunrise meter to make it clear that was what that meter was meant to represent!
really nice ambiance and it has good replay value since its randomized.
pretty fun platformer with some charming text, If you plan on making a post-jam version, you should totally make puzzles that require you to drop then catch the bag fella or even use them as a platform to reach slightly higher ledges!
Game feels really good to control but the teleport mechanic bugged out on me sadly. Otherwise the game does feel pretty good to play.
It's a charming entry that took the theme in a unique and interesting way. If you ever need music for future jams hmu Id love to collaborate with more devs!
I like the movement, music, and art, however the game was a bit too difficult for me personally since everything is a one hit kill. Maybe include a lives counter? Otherwise really fun!
Peak Ludum Dare
Really neat game and the art + writing is charming! I wish I like how the game can be done in single player AND multiplayer which adds re=playability. If you all do a post jam version I'd love to see more like obstacles you have to draw around or spotlights from paranoid farmers!
Solid resource management game, I cant keep up with the flames and they keep going out, still really fun and cool!
8262GB, I'm bummed out that i missed this game during this jam! really unique gameplay that utilizes the keyboard in such a cool way!
I really like the mechanics, I hope you continue this project, maybe have puzzles with buttons or something? GG
the game has a really charming artstyle and the audio really helps it. My main issue was sometimes i kept throwing the boxes in an attempt to deliver them which caused either the package to break or be late. I do like how the map design plays into different routes to get around. I hope to see a post jam version with more content and possibly abilities? (i really want to carry multiple boxes but thats because im bad at gaming lol)
WHAT THE FUGG THIS ART IS SOOO GOOD AND THAT MUSIC AAAAAUGHHHH. I could def see the Mega man battle network and persona influences through the artstyle and gameplay. gawddayum this is good.
A lot of wonderful work from the art, music, and script! As a D&D enthusiast I love dice rolls so this fulfilled a good itch. Will you continue to make a post jam version with larger levels and more in depth mechanics?
I love the use of 2d and 3d art, reminds me of Inscryption. As someone who has been playing a LOT of Ultrakill recently, I loved the soundtrack. The rouge like mechanics work well and after a failed attempt (or three) I got used to the gameplay and had a blast!
Really like the music, my main issues are the lack of shadows and the fact that the speed of the kraken causes any cargo on board to just fly off. Maybe have the cargo act a bit more "sticky" when placed on the ship and add a couple of shadows? The artstyle is really good and again, that music really sets the mood!
literally gets better everytime i think it has reached its peak it goes higher.
I love yeeting the little red bean burrito over gaps. near the end i stopped playing safe and tried to style on these fools a bit. I think the child landed on their soft spot one too many times but ehhh itls bee fine. great game and the mechanics felt fluid.
Started off really scary with a tense atmosphere and ended up being the funniest LD entry I've had the pleasure of witnessing. that secret with the first ending is really really good!
I loved that you could deliver 3 items at once unlike most games of this nature where you're limited to one order at a time. The car felt just slippery enough to control where it was more fun then frustrating. My only issue was the lack of a minimap. Sometimes I felt lost and did not know where to go, maybe in a future update have a minimap in the corner or have a map togglable through a keyboard button (like hold m). I also think the car sprites are a nice touch! really cool.
I love how the color shifted as you went up. I noticed it and jumped down to see that YEP it did actually change. The goal posts are spaced pretty well and never felt unfair. With a little adjustment the speedrun potential is sick too! I hope you continue this game post jam, even for a couple levels, with harder jumps, more mechanics, obstacles, and possibly collectables? Oh also if you're ever in need of a musician i'd be happy to compose some tracks for you! good game!
Best time 1:07:3
pretty hard but thats part for the course with physics based games, I do have to give props to the use of raising the lift with r, that one mechanic really made it worth playing more than any other physics based game. I felt as if every mistake was my own and it didnt feel like i was fighting the controls or game mechanics, the pallets made it clear and simple to pick up the object but still posed enough of a challenge to do it fast as to not get boring. good job!
I LOVE P.I.S.S I could feel the paper's please inspirations with this one. My only issue was that some items (the stamp and pies) would kinda glitch around, still really good premise and execution. The experience certainly left me wanting seconds!
I like the sound design and how it acompanies the artstyle. I'm a massive sucker for dash mechanics in games so thats always a plus. I loved how some souls could be collected through the wall too!
it was kinda funny to see tje ship kinda fold in on itself, a checkpoint system between each delivery would've been nice though. also it feels kind of hard on the eyes for me, maybe make the background contrast with the stage a little more? like an outline or something? The audio felt like it hit a good balance on congratulating the player but not overdoing it and the ship, while slippery, feels solid to control as each collision was because of my actions.
MAN, my heart was pounding. I love the looking mechanic, forcing the player to stop and stare at something. I was terrified throughout the whole thing, really well done.
is that jerma lol?
As someone who needed to poop while playing the game, I find this very accurate. Funny, short, didn't overstay its welcome and left me wanting more!
Really fun once I got a rhythm for how the game works, looking forward to a post jam release with more challenging fights? The enemy AI seems a little too easy but it was still fun nevertheless, Frog deck is really fun to play.
As someone who sucks at micromanagement I love this, the constant juggling of summonings and moving my troops, feedings the slimes, and not falling apart provide a really solid gameplay loop!
Loved the voice work and level up progression. It does feel like the game ramps up too fast sometimes and the invincibility frames between hits are small but those are nitpicks. I spent more time on this game than I would like to admit, it has a good flow to it and I love finding a playstyle that fit me the best (Snooky is a personal fav). Also I am a sucker for neon aesthetics. good work!
Cool game! love how each creature drops more resources!
html5 version isnt working on my end, hope to play it soon!
Got max upgrades on everything, really fun slashing game, would love to see a mobile version maybe. Especially near the end of my runs when the bugs would swarm so I would just slash half-hazardly. good job!
really nice level designs and puzzles with a pretty schwaggedy mechanic of freezing them
Really nice game, the way the mechanics work with each other led to some really interesting puzzles!
THIS IS SO FREAKING GOOOD WHAT
Found the gameplay a bit too repetitive and I wished there was more to do. The art was really good and the sound design too!
DESMOND'S BLIBLY CONTROL game was really funny and kinda stress relieving. very funi
Really good game, I love the humor and atmosphere.
dopamine when I heard "faster", really solid game for a jam!
I love the sound they make when i grab them
Pretty fun match puzzle game, wish there was more variety in gameplay
All it's missing is some atmospheric music and you'd have a really fun and calming idler! The worm designs were pretty good and I was able to tell each apart.
Neat take on the theme, I wish there was some suspenseful music to hype the player up or some indicator on how far the player has gone. Also the game does have some slowdown on browser. still good tho!
Really cute game with optional score chasing options, I like the idea of giving the player a projectile, only issue is (atleast for me) when I spam control (ctrl) at enemies it closes the tab and I had to redo all the levels over again. The Y bind didn't work for me aswell. Also the ship area feels a little too large and open. Overall I like the simplicity of it, reminds me of the old newgrounds/flash games I would play and would totally play a post jam version! Oh also I like how each boss played differently!
I LOVE GAMBLING Jokes aside the controls were actually pretty neat after getting used to them, a sprint function would've been nice though. Also I cant tell if its intentional but after a while my ship kept growing to a point where the camera wouldn't show anything but a grey void. Still, pretty fun!
I like the gameplay, could imagine it being a rouge-lite maybe with power ups and upgrades in a post jam version. very well done
really neat way to control the game, lost when it couldn't understand me saying "left" but it might just be me. still neat
Nice jam game, the explosions are a little too blinding and the money didn't reset after each round but I did like the upgrade system.
I freaked out at the Gobbo. Kinda fun, very akin to stick wars. Did feel unfair when the goblins would always land their hits but it did force me to think about my placement.
I like the mechanic with size and while not needed to beat the game, ensures that players can still maneuver the level safely giving them a chance.
Cute top down survivor game!
Really nice and simple, the controls thing was really helpful, would like the option to go to the main menu to access the controls and how to play again. I think the way you implemented combat is really interesting with having a shield that can destroy enemies happen occasionally rather than it be "round them up and hold shoot". I can see people try to go for higher and higher scores. If you make a post jam version maybe add upgrades and/or more enemies? nevertheless it's a good spin on what is an already common type of game. Good job!
I REALLY WANNA SEE A POST JAM VERSION The gameplay, while confusing and in definite need of a tutorial, the game has good atmosphere and could a be good set up for a horror game. Also some ambience/music would go a long ways to set a really good mood
