@Miltage: The reason there is a popup instead of a screen in the game is because I had a hard time doing it any other way. The reason you are able to go up and down is because it is easier to dodge bullets and enemies. Thanks a lot for your feedback!

@Mandrew: Answered above. Thanks for your feedback!

@Zerkuemler: Almost every time I die in the game it is because of a collision with a bomb I didn't notice. Thanks for the feedback! :)

Space Hunt by korfi 2013-08-27T15:43:00

@Laelien: In my opinion it makes the game more challenging. It also gives the player a reason to move up on the screen instead of just staying at the bottom. Thanks for the feedback! :)

@Zccc: Thanks for playing :)

@Jupiter_Hadley: Thanks alot for including it in your video :)! There actually is a way to shoot, by pressing control, which also is included in the help section of the game.

Space Hunt by korfi 2013-08-28T15:08:00

Thanks everyone for the awesome feedback and thanks for playing! :)

Space Hunt by korfi 2013-09-15T15:28:00

Thanks everyone for the support, I will take your advice into consideration for my next game.
Infernet89, I used Game Maker Studio. You can press enter to proceed to the next wave, which I forgot to mention in the popup.

Space Hunt by korfi 2013-09-16T16:28:00

Oh wow, hmm. I honestly have no idea why it isn't working for you. I guess it might be the RAM, I tried doing a quick search for your problem but couldn't find anything. I'll look in to it and hopefully find a fix for it, if not for this Ludum Dare, then for the next one. Thanks for your comment!

Space Hunt by korfi 2013-09-16T20:23:00

Thank you so much for your time and effort. I'm glad you enjoyed the game. Sadly I'm on a pc where I'm not allowed downloading any games/software, so I won't be able to try your game before the deadline of voting. I will gladly play it tomorrow though when I get access to my normal pc.

LD28 — You Only Get One

Surface Climber by korfi 2013-12-17T18:44:00

Ocarina of lime: Thanks for the feedback, I know exactly what spot you are talking about and thought whether I should keep it in or not, knowing it's a hard jump. It is absolutely do-able as long as you know the technique, if you have time/just want to go back to it I'm sure you'll find out how to do it. :)

ShellfishGames: The only actual ending is the image you get from reaching the flag, if I would've had more time I might've been able to make a proper ending. You are absolutely correct about it being a bug. I even found a fix for the bug later, but I thought it was better keeping it in. Thanks for the feedback, and glad you liked the music! :)

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Tunnel48 by Geckoo1337 2021-04-27T21:01:03Z

I really liked your game! I like how it starts slow for people to get used to the control but it quickly gets challenging. It made me have the "just one more round"-feeling.

I didn't stop playing until I was first at the leaderboards (which was a really nice addition!).

Manic Miner by ryannielson 2021-05-02T22:35:10Z

Pretty fun game! it felt like it was a bit too much button mashing and a bit too little strategy, but overall it was really fun! Maybe it could benefit from adding more dangers when you get further down or introducing some other new elements along the way? For a game jam game it's really nice however! I liked the way you could change the color scheme and how it changes automatically for every run, it gives the game a fresh look every time you play!

Great job!

Deep & Deeper by warxen 2021-05-02T23:49:58Z

Fantastic game! I really enjoyed it, nice concept and the puzzles were perfectly balanced in my opinion! The graphics were great, the atmosphere was great and the interaction between Deep and Deeper was great. Good take on the theme!

Dungeonfall by CruelMotivator 2021-04-27T14:04:03Z

Overall really nice!

I got a bug twice where I ended up "in front of" the floor (too close to the camera), but overall it was really good! I really liked the graphics as well!

Holey Hell by managore 2021-04-29T12:37:41Z

This was super fun to play! Spot on for the theme and you just wanted to play "one more round". Visuals were great, controls were solid, all in all really really fun!

Downslide by pabulum 2021-05-03T12:54:14Z

Great game! The controls took a bit to get used to for me. I did get it in the end and it was fun to play at that point! Was there a reason not using the downkey for dashing down? Overall fun to play!

Cosmonoid by neontropics 2021-04-27T10:29:33Z

Really cute and fun game and a nice concept. I had a bit of a hard time with the inverted y-axis mouse control, would be nice to have an option to have it non-inverted!

Cosmonoid by neontropics 2021-04-27T13:12:05Z

I gave it a second try now with the inverted mouse controls and it was much more enjoyable for me, haha!

I managed to complete the game, the grappling hook took some getting used to. I probably cheesed the last level by going back to the starting platform to jump and collect fuel.

Overall it was really nice, as I stated in my first comment! Great visuals and nice controls. I also liked the way you did the first person controller with the mouse, it really made it feel like I was floating in space.

Just Down Jack by joewan 2021-04-28T19:15:22Z

I liked it! Very responsive controls, cute graphics and a great idea. I really liked how there were new platforms and dangers coming the further down you got. I also liked the health system as well as the uncertainty of wether it'd be a good powerup or a bad debuff.

Total Eclipse Of The Heart - vol.02 by FcValise 2021-04-28T18:42:04Z

Great idea for a game with a really good execution!

The puzzles were not too challenging but also not too easy, I never felt too stuck but I also didn't get everything right away. The artstyle is amazing and the small cute animations work really well with the overall aesthetics of the game.

depthscraper by lexi 2021-04-27T22:43:36Z

Really nice puzzle game and a nice take on the theme!

Deepest Sword by Strega 2021-05-03T00:25:06Z

Fantastic game! Took me 20-ish minutes to complete. Was quite challenging, but not too frustrating! Graphics were great, innovative idea, great job! :D

DeeperFall by Hengen 2021-04-28T13:19:34Z

Really nice, chill game. I really liked how the background color changes when you touch a new platform. Very aesthetically pleasing!

AeroCat by W0oly 2021-05-03T10:05:43Z

Great game, super pretty! Took some time getting used to the controls but after that it was really enjoyable. If I had to be nitpicky, a couple of things that I would've liked was maybe a score showing when playing (to know how far you've gotten) and a high score shown at some point! Also didn't realize there was another "level" than the overworld at first. I tried getting past 20000 to see if it would change into something else but didn't quite manage. My highest score was a bit over 19000.

Really fun to play and the graphics were super pretty!

Dumb Ways To Dive by Jonas Michael 2021-05-03T12:29:12Z

I really liked it! I liked the artstyle and the audio was great. Sometimes I felt like the hitboxes of the fish were a bit too big. Overall it was a really nice and fun game however! :D

Undermined by Alex Davies 2021-05-11T22:39:25Z

Great game! Sometimes I felt like the way the pieces rotated didn't make sense but honestly I think it's mostly just my brain thinking wrong under stress haha!

Digging In by Fis 2021-05-03T00:43:28Z

Nice little game!

I really enjoyed the flow-y movement you get when controlling the player with your mouse! At first I was a bit confused about the dash, as I thought it was just a way of getting down faster but risking to get hit on the way down. When I realized it could go through rocks I saw it's true potential as a life saver.

I feel like the fuel was never a problem for me, it could have been nice having less fuel pickups around to make the player have to choose wether it's worth the risk picking it up. Now it just felt like I could skip it and then there would be another one in my path before the fuel situation was dire.

Maybe the game could speed up a bit , there could be less pickups or there could be more rocks when you get further down to make it a bit harder the longer you go.

Overall it was a really fun game and I loved the graphics! :D

THIEFEUS: Rynth, Repeat by Dorkulon 2021-04-27T10:12:17Z

Very nice game! The audio was really nice, added to the atmosphere. I also managed to escape the minotaur!

Ski Trip by Rhoka 2021-04-28T19:36:58Z

It was a really nice game, great audio and visuals! All in all a very satisfying experience :D

Cave Rider by Iker Díaz 2021-05-03T12:09:48Z

The visuals and the feel of the game (sounds, screen shake and t hings lake that) are very nice! The game is a bit hard/unforgiving. I got around 250 m and it wasn't because I was good at hitting the enemies, but because I had the luck to hit them. If they spawned a bit less frequently and had a lower speed I think it would be a really fun game! Great overall though! :D

Super Turtle Drop by JavaSaurus 2021-05-02T20:12:34Z

Fun and innovative game! It felt like learning the patterns of the colors was beneficial for getting a good score! Sometimes it felt like the block didn't break even though I clicked and sometimes some blocks had a highlight that made me believe I could destroy them but I couldn't.

Overall it was really fun though! :D

Geodiver 48 by exofrenon 2021-04-27T12:03:42Z

I beat the game!

At first the controls felt a bit floaty, but I got used to it quickly. It also makes sense that they're a bit "floaty" since he's falling! A lot of the game is based off memorizing the level, which slowly builds up to the player perfecting the level. Some of the jumps felt a bit too hard to pull off and the spikes hitbox might've been a tiny bit too big (but I might be the only one feeling that way!). It would also be nice if the retry for every level was sped up a bit, since you need to replay the level a couple of times to beat it.

I really liked the aesthetics of the game, nice animations on the player and a really nice color palette. Overall a nice looking and feeling game! :D

The Depths of Science by Trusty 2021-04-28T13:01:22Z

The graphics and mood the game created was really nice! I always get surprised when there's so much content in a game jam-game - so many different enemies, floors, animations. Really nice game overall!

Also, as somebody that usually plays fps-games with a much lower sensitivity than others, the sensitivity slider was really nice to have!

Soaring Under by jitspoe 2021-04-29T12:09:39Z

Super pretty game! I can't understand how you managed to build such a big, pretty world, and implement all of the feautres in such a short time. I really, really enjoyed the visuals! I enjoyed the audio as well, everything from the calm music to the funny piano crashes.

The controls were really hard to get used to, but once you got the hang of it - it was really fun! Can't say I was particularly good at it, but at least I managed to finish the game as well as grab a couple of the pickups on the way!

I feel like the start is a bit hard, maybe give the player the first couple of 100 meters a bit more of a "playground" to get used to the controls. I personally felt like the game was easier from the forest bit before the big drop down than the part leading up to it. Maybe somehow changing out the two areas might've made it easier for players to get used to the controls?

All in all, I really enjoyed the game and it was a great take on the theme!

T-Minus by michaelaranda 2021-05-03T12:00:13Z

Great game and good looking visuals! I really liked it, great take on the theme. I only wish it was a little bit longer!

Space Buddies by Fractal 2021-04-28T19:52:53Z

I beat the game! Pretty fun and innovative idea, I really liked the art!

6 Feet Under by theStoff 2021-05-03T19:56:13Z

Really, really good game, was very hard though. Didn't have the time to complete it now but will come back to it for sure! The graphics were great, the audio was amazing. Great job!

SeaSnap by Cral 2021-04-27T22:12:09Z

It's such a moody and atmospheric game! You've managed to build a really nice world in such a short time period. I sadly couldn't find one of the artifacts but other than that I think I found everything! Super nice graphics and good audio! I really like the mix of low poly landscape with pixel art, it works really well!

ABYSSN'T by Diotins 2021-04-27T11:36:08Z

I probably played this for a bit too long. I really, really enjoyed the game! The hardest part is honestly in the beginning, at times it was hard to find debris to latch on to, the further out you got, the easier it got. It would be nice if there was a way to balance the game so that it's a bit easier when you're closer to the black hole and harder the further out you get. Maybe add a win-state when you've reached a certain distance from the black hole?

The graphics were really nice, both assets as well as post processing. I also enjoyed that there was a bit of a difference between the debris (ducks making different sound effects, fire extinguisher shooting foam).

Overall a really good game!

Ps. also liked the online (I assume?) scoreboard!

Frogging out by FDM 2021-04-27T12:33:26Z

I think the artstyle is really cute!

At first I had a hard time getting used to the controls but once I got the hang of it, it was really fun! I don't know if I didn't manage to complete it but when I came to the top right of the level it looked like there was an exit to the cave but I wasn't able to exit.

Overall I thought it was a nice game! :D

ATOMIC deepness by Kevin Meissner 2021-04-28T18:10:16Z

Really cool game, the graphics were excellent! For someone that likes both first person shooters and rougelikes this is right up my alley. I'm super impressed that you managed to get everything so detailed and a good, balanced system in place in such a short time!

I personally felt like the motion blur was a bit too much, but I'm also the type of player that turn it off in regular games. I would've enjoyed a sensitivity slider as a quality of life feature, but I totally understand that it wasn't a priority in a game jam!

Overall it was a well executed idea and really enjoyable!

Diving for Dinner by Kontiko 2021-04-27T13:31:05Z

Cute game! I liked the progression. The artstyle is really nice, the penguin animation is so good. I like the way the penguin feels when you're controlling it!

Sometimes it feels like the shark is popping up a bit too unexpectedly, specifically when going up or down (and maybe even more if you've purchased a speed upgrade), it feels like increasing the sound verically might help with this? Maybe adding a tiny visual cue on the side of the screen could be a different way of doing it?

Overall I really enjoyed the game!

27500m drop by Szkocka 2021-04-28T18:53:12Z

Overall a pretty good game! I found the air acceleration hard to get used to, I wasn't able to beat it but got pretty far! I liked the graphics as well :D

Selkö by Doot 2021-05-03T01:55:01Z

Really atmospheric and nice game/interactive story! I really liked the graphics, Overall just a fun and nice entry! :D

Deep Space by Cole Hutson 2021-05-03T11:33:34Z

It was pretty fun for me! It felt like buying the upgrades to some extent made the game harder but it was also necessary to win. I didn't think the game would have an ending, but I reached it! Good job!

Archeodillo by Rambar 2021-04-27T09:56:18Z

Very cute game! Really enjoyed the audio. I aslo had problems where I got unbeatable levels (I think). Overall a really good game!

Falling Rock by snip_man 2021-05-03T01:07:21Z

Nice, fun game! I actually enjoyed the graphics, something nostalgic about the ms paint style! Sometimes I did feel like the game was a bit unfair in the placement of jumps and stuff but luckily the respawn was quick and never far away. Great job! :D

The bomble mines by pune007 2021-04-29T12:18:26Z

I really enjoyed the game and the visuals!

The controls felt solid, the character felt responsive and the jump wasn't "floaty". Sometimes jumping on the bombles was registered even though I felt like it shouldn't have been (hit it very close to the edge for example). It feels like the game could make a really nice precision platformer if you added a few more levels and a few more mechanics. Maybe add another character movement (wall-jump, dashing, double jump etc.), some enemies or other obstacles for example, to make new levels have an extra layer of depth!

Deep Way To Basement by Usenrame 2021-05-03T11:56:29Z

Overall a really fun game!

Darkness in the clouds by Seskon 2021-05-04T13:32:02Z

Nice game! I encountered a bug in the jam-version that made me falling through the world after missing the cloud boat, might've been fixed in the updated version?

I really liked the visuals in the game, this artstyle is fantastic and worked very well with your game! Nice story and paired with visuals/audio it makes a great interactive game. Great job! :D

PANEMUAN by etrealjunior 2021-05-02T23:34:28Z

Really moody, atmospheric game! I enjoyed the graphics and the audio a lot!

Crust by exopunk 2021-05-05T23:46:03Z

Really fun game! I enjoyed it a lot, great atmosphere that you managed to create with the visuals and audio!

The first time I encountered the tentacle arms I didn't realize they were enemies, but other than that the visuals were super good looking and clear what was good/bad. I felt like it was a tiny bit slow to control without the hook, but it might just be my preference! It might also be a way to incentivize people to use the hook instead. Playing around with the hook was really fun!

Ziggurat by nethead 2021-05-03T09:34:39Z

Fantastic game!

I can not understand how you were able to get such nice pixel art and level design done in just 48 hours. The storytelling was great and the audio was really nice as well! Great job :D

Mine The Beat by GamesBySaul 2021-04-28T14:21:08Z

Super cute character, it felt very much like necrodancer! I didn't fully understand the sell feature and thus I just sold everything on every floor. Nice audio and nice visuals, overall a really solid game! :D

Deepest fish by JokubasG 2021-05-02T23:04:50Z

Nice game! As most people have pointed out the hourglasses are a bit too overpowered, haha. It also feels like there are a few too many hearts spawning. If you don't want to reduce the hourglasses too much another idea could be to make the timer scale with the speed of the descent of the hook - the further down you get (the faster the hook), the faster the time in the hourglass passes as well. Another thing that I noticed was that I sometimes felt like the rocks had past my hook and I started moving to avoid the next layer but still hit the rocks in the previous one. It could just be me being bad however!

If you want to continue working on the game, adding more fish, more obstacles and more powerups could be the next step! Maybe there could be something that made you immune to the rocks for a small amount of time, or a magnet that pulled the fish in to the hook during a short amount of time?

Great job!

Rapid Descent by Zakolnuki 2021-05-03T01:36:51Z

I really liked it!

The minimalist graphics were great! Something I saw in a different game which I think yours could benefit from as well was a color palette change in-between your tries.

The respawn could be a bit quicker in my opinion, but other than that the gameplay loop feels solid! I didn't have the possibility to try 2 player-mode but that seems like a great idea. All in all, a solid game!

Deeper in the mine! by paopeaw 2021-04-28T13:11:39Z

Nice, cute little game! I felt like mining in the beginning was a bit slow and tedious, but once you got a few upgrades it got better quicker. I like the sound effects warning you for danger. Overall a nice, fun game!

Carpet Flea by MrPouletBZH 2021-05-02T22:52:21Z

Fantastic game! I really liked it, the graphics gave me a super meat boy - esque feel and the only thing missing was the blood splatter and the recording of all of my runs at the end of a level! I managed to get all bonuses but one (from level 8) and I honestly have no idea how to get it, haha.

Controls were great, the jump felt a tiny bit floaty at first but you got used to it. I really liked the idea of having a set amount of jumps/dashes and thus seeing it as a limited resource. I also really liked how the level changed when you used dashes and jumps.

Graphics were fantastic, I really liked the feeling that it created in the game. It worked wonderful with the precision platforming. It was almost always very clear what was dangerous, what you can jump on etc. The only time I felt a tiny bit cheated was on the last level next to the bonus where the spikes were a tiny bit hard to see.

Great job! :D

Falling Bot by Phobos 2021-04-28T13:55:37Z

Really nice looking game! I enjoyed the atmosphere and it was a good take on the theme. I had a bit of a hard time with the controls at first, but after a while I got used to it.

It would be nice for some indicator on the platforms that you're destroying with your beam, my first few runs I didn't understand that. It was also a bit hard knowing which platforms you could destroy. Maybe change the texture or have a particle effect or something when you're destroying an object.

Overall I really enjoyed the game!

Fly Away by PSV Games Studio 2021-04-27T12:25:27Z

I really like the idea! I feel like the player can be a bit hard to control at times. I also managed to spawn inside a wall after one of the levels but as soon as I bumped into one of the outside walls the level reset and everything was fine again! As others have mentioned, an indication when you cleared the level would also be nice!

The graphics were really nice, I really enjoyed the main characted and some of the other assets in the game (House, fences etc.). It was really enjoyable to play!

Into The Depth by Szymon OGD 2021-05-03T01:23:14Z

Nice game! It felt like reaching the bottom was a bit out of my reach. I really liked the ambiance that the sound design with the graphics created.

Canyoneer by Kieron Woodhouse 2021-04-27T15:17:25Z

I really liked the rope physics! It was a fun game to play, sometimes I felt like I should've stopped at the platform when I had a bit too high velocity for me to stick the landing, but that might only be me. Nice idea!

Find The Page! by Rouge_dragon 2021-04-27T20:45:03Z

Really fun and innovative game!

It would be fun if the pages were a bit more randomized to make the game more replayable. Maybe do this by having a short tutorial and then start the game. On the other hand, I guess that would make the leaderboards less accurate.

HELL deep is your love? by Villanelle 2021-05-09T01:07:26Z

Was definitely a bit too hard for me haha. I feel like most of the time it was difficult but not unfair. There were a couple of points where it felt like it was a bit too hard and at least for me it was more luck that I finally got past the part I was stuck on, rather than skill.

Graphics and audio was amazing! It created a fantastic atmosphere. Overall it was a really good game and I have no idea how you managed to get such a polished product finished during the jam. Great job!

Dive! Dive! by John Harper 2021-05-03T00:59:11Z

Nice game! I liked how you could choose the speed of your descent yourself - "do I want a higher speed so that I can get a higher score quicker or a lower speed to make it less likely for me to crash into the bombs?".

I feel like it was a bit hard "feeling" your speed down, maybe the sides should descend a bit quicker with the player?

All in all it was a really good and fun game! :)

Mini Miner by Deepak kr 2021-04-28T18:22:50Z

Cute game! I really liked the pixel art and the palette. The camera movement was a bit harsh and the character felt a bit floaty but overall it was really good and fun to play!

Infinite Descent by BluishGreenPro 2021-05-03T12:37:40Z

Fun little game! I felt like the walljump needed some work, other than that really solid controls and a great game!

Infinite Descent by BluishGreenPro 2021-05-04T18:51:38Z

@bluishgreenpro I've tried analyzing it from my perspective, I'm sorry for the long reply and I'm sorry if I sound harsh at times, I'm only trying to give an in-depth analysis! I might've formulated myself poorly at some point, just ask if there's anything that you didn't understand!

The way i see it there are 2 main parts and one minor part that I think could be changed/improved:

1.The jump angle (and maybe velocity) you get when you're jumping off the wall "feels" a bit off. My suggestion is to have a greater angle and maybe a higher velocity when going off the wall. I also think that a reason of why the angle feels low, is that the height you get from a regular jump is a lot higher than what you get from a wall jump. The current angle is close to the black line, whereas a suggested height could be the red one.

InfiniteDescentWallAngle.png

2.When jumping from one wall to another it feels like you instantly starts falling down the wall as soon as you hit the wall. During your first jump from the ground you get a good height and you kind of "slide" up the wall in a way that feels natural. On the second wall (after jumping off the first wall), you never slide up at all (which I suspect is a bit of my suggestion 1). If you don't want the player to slide up (to the peak of the jump) you could maybe make the player stick a tiny bit before starting to slide down.

3.This is probably the tiniest part, and I didn't notice until I played around a bit with the controls. If someone is used to walljump with 'direction + jump' the jump isn't always registered. I think the time it takes for you to "unstick" from the wall is a tiny bit too short? In a similar vein - when initiating the wall jump the player holds the jump button for as high as the player want the wall jump to be. When jumping to the next wall, you want the player to jump directly the way it is now. From the first jump the player expects to hold the jump to go as high as possible, but right now the player starts falling down instead and thus should hit the space as quickly as possible instead.

Tell me if there is anything else you're thinking about!

Infinite Descent by BluishGreenPro 2021-05-04T21:21:47Z

@bluishgreenpro As I'm living in Europe I don't think I'll be able to see it live, would love to see a vod if that's possible though!

Great game! I really liked the controls and the audio.

I did feel like if you wanted you could just farm the metorites at the top and never be in danger of the enemies, which I guess could be a playstyle (more stealthy), but it did feel like cheating a bit. Maybe have less metorites further up and make it denser as you get closer to the planet?

All in all, a really good, solid entry! I liked it :)

Don't hit anything by Martinek 2021-04-28T20:13:41Z

I really liked the game, it was a bit challenging but once I got the hang of it, it was really enjoyable. I really liked the hand drawn aesthetic! I think it would be nice if you could just "open your parchaute" right away for your retries, as the player already knows the controls by then (and if they somehow skipped it, the tutorial could still be there, but disappear if the player opens the parachute). It also felt like the hitbox for the player might've been a bit too big, but might honestly just be me being bad at the game at first haha

Overall A really good game! :D

Deep into the vibe by Ariorick 2021-05-02T23:22:27Z

Very nice game, I liked the color palette and the graphics. I had a hard time judging where I was in relation to the level ("is it safe to jump onto the wall now or is the spike still in the area where I can get hurt?"), maybe adding a shadow to the character would help this? Seeing how every "chunk" is a tiny bit of a different color it feels like this could make it easier for the player to distinguish where in the space they are. The audio was great as well!

@bubul69 @usenrame Thank you, a mobile game build could be a nice idea! :D

@kassymov-iran @cral Thank you for the feedback, we wanted to add animations and might update it in the future, but sadly we didn't have the time to do it for the jam!

@diringer-leo Thank you! :D

@treslapin Thank you! We wanted to do some animations but didn't have the time to implement it. He looked way too awkward sitting with his hands around the cart or forward, so to add to the cute look we just decided to keep his hands up instead, haha!

@fractal Hmm, it does seem to have a bit lower FPS in fullscreen for me on the web-version as well, nothing too bad though. I hope it didn't impact the gameplay too much, we'll look at it!

@vladimir-dainovski Thank you! It's really hard trying to balance difficulty with what seems fair for a game, we'll keep it in mind! :)

@xeke-death Thank you! That's a very good score :D

@branton-lansdale Honestly, I think it took a lot of concentration from Rendow's side haha. At some point you just have to focus on going down and not taking the gems anymore, but it's very precise! Thank you for your feedback! :D

@divford Thank you so much for the feedback, I'm happy you enjoyed it! :D

@nikolaj @deepak-kr Thank you!

@joedev Haha, yeah at some point you just kind of have to abandon the gems and focus on surviving - I still have no idea how Rendow got 5000! Thank you for your suggestions! Yeah, looking back at the post-processing a couple of days later, I do agree that it could've been a tiny bit more subtle! Thank you for your feedback!

Dungeon Painter by IanTheBee 2021-04-27T13:45:41Z

I really liked it! Great use of colors, great use of "white space" (or black space, I guess?). In a couple of places I felt like it was hard to see spikes underneath you, because of the platform being too high for the camera to see, same thing with the waves spawning from the boss at the bottom.

Overall this was super fun to play!

deep madness by domsse interactive 2021-04-29T11:40:31Z

I liked the idea of the game and my high score was 36! Sadly (as pointed out in the comments already) the character seems to consistently get stuck in the wall, after floor 19 (so floor 20 and onwards), but you're already aware of this.

I just let the guy bounce back and forth a bit to listen to the soundtrack and I really liked how it built on itself and got more and more intense. At some point it felt like there was a bit too many different instruments though!

Overall I really liked the game, I feel like without the collision bug it would be one of those "just one more try" type of games!

LD49 — Unstable

gunstable by torcado 2021-10-05T23:25:31Z

I liked the game, liked the aesthetics! The idea of changing weapons every time you use it is great! Kind of feels like playing a rouge like in a way!

Unstable Stick by joewan 2021-10-05T12:53:27Z

I managed to finish the game! Some parts felt unfairly hard because of the random offset (I think?) that each jump had, like the part where you have to jump on the tiny platforms to get to the next checkpoint. Overall it was super fun however, and I liked the artstyle! Probably had me hooked for a good half an hour or so.

SEXY BOOBY 95 by silkworm_sweatshop 2021-10-05T13:38:49Z

Super fun experience and the graphics and sounds were really nice!

Instability by R3L0ad1 2021-10-05T13:33:45Z

I thought it was superfun and both the audio and visuals are really good! I did feel like the ropes were a bit annoying and it felt like getting a good score was based more on luck of not getting too many ropes rather than "being good", but that might just be me not fully grasping the mechanic! Overall it was a fun experience however! :D

Eudora by EdevJogos 2021-10-05T22:37:37Z

I really liked the game! The controls were a bit difficult to get used to at first (especially "sliding down" the ladder that quick and every time you pressed S, feels like it could've been better if instead of auto-sliding you'd descent at a fast speed when holding S?). The graphics and audio was fantastic, overall a great experience!

BLOOPS! by jitspoe 2021-10-05T23:17:52Z

Got a score of a bit over 1000, felt like it was hard getting any higher than that haha. Fits the theme very well, funny sound effects and overall a fun game!

BLOOPS! by jitspoe 2021-10-07T22:58:58Z

@jitspoe I'm a sucker for records, as far as I can understand the record used to be 1100 by PomoTheDog?

BLOOPS1203.png

Having played the game for a bit too long I do have a bit more to comment than I had at first, things that you probably have already thought of but I'll mention them just in case! Visuals aside I feel like there are two nice quality of life features which would be good for the player. Firstly a respawn button (for when you mess up early and just want to restart and not have to wait for 5 blocks to fall) and secondly a line for where your high score was so that you know where your score to beat is!

As I stated before, it's a really fun and somewhat silly game! :D

gone. by wafflecomposite 2021-10-06T18:49:50Z

Got a bit over 4000 as my high score! Fun little game, I was afraid that you'd have to spam the mouse button to not die, but after a couple of tries I got the hang of it and that certainly wasn't the case. Nice game overall! :D

An oddly SATISFYING game by Duck Reaction 2021-10-06T18:15:51Z

AstroJump by odedro987 2021-10-06T20:53:08Z

It was really fun, I played a couple of runs and reached a bit over 50000. It wasn't completely obvious at first that you were supposed to slam the debris as well, but after I figured that out it was really fun! Maybe try spacing out the debris a bit further? Overall really nice game! :D

Unsteady Bounce by Comfy 2021-10-06T14:37:13Z

I really liked it, it was a perfect mix of hard but fair gameplay. I feel like the restart could've been a bit quicker and maybe even have a restart button for whenever the player feels like it really isn't going to work out. The visuals are really good!

RadioFrog by Dylen 2021-10-05T22:44:04Z

The game was super fun and the visuals were really nice! It would be nice to have a score pop up at the end of your run and a high-score counter as well. Was a bit hard to know how well I was doing in comparison with my previous runs sometimes! It was really nice and well executed!

Bounceable Side by Artast 2021-10-05T22:53:49Z

Kattonauten by Elastic 2021-10-05T13:54:47Z

I finished the game! In the beginning I had to reset several times because of a bug where you get stuck inbetween tiles, it would be nice if there was a way to respawn at the last checkpoint (maybe by just pressing X, as that's already the respawn button?) for whenever that happens, but also in general! I liked the visuals, sometimes it was a bit hard knowing what was dangerous for me to touch and what was a solid block to stand on. I feel like the game had a really good balance between difficult and what felt fair for the player. Overall it was a really fun game! :D

Shoal by Kerdelos 2022-04-08T13:01:33Z

Such a nice game! I really liked the graphics and the audio, the mix of calm music while getting more and more stressful trying to get the fish along was surprisingly nice! The visuals also looked really good :) I did have a hard time knowing when to split the fishes but that might just be my playstile!

Aloft by ColeSlaughter 2022-04-08T20:42:07Z

This was surprisingly hard, my brain kept thinking the other way around for the first 10 minutes (press left side to go right, I'm not entirely sure why?). It was really entertaining and quite challenging, graphics and gameplay was great! Overall a fun game that I'll make sure to come back to, as I didn't manage to finish it at this point! :)

Wipeout by TheMoonrise 2022-04-07T15:56:48Z

I got 59295! I liked your entry a lot! Everything from the graphics to the "feel" to the sounds really tie the game together. A suggestion for the future would maybe be that you could get penalties for typing the wrong letter when you're doing your combo! Overall a great game :)

Helly Belly by lootgrounds 2022-04-08T19:18:16Z

This was surprisingly fun! I like the mechanics of having to move around while shooting to widen your playfield. It's got a great balance of hard but fair. The music and artstyle worked well together. Overall a really good entry! :D

Estrella by Xiris 2022-04-07T18:22:12Z

scrshot.png

I enjoyed your game a lot! The graphics and audio was great.

Some small suggestions to make it even better would be having different sound effects for when asteroids are hitting the planet and when you manage to blow them up, maybe a different font (hyphens were sometimes hard to see and D/R looked quite similar when it was going quick, e.g. DAY/RAY) and it would be nice if starting a new word didn't erase the first letter if you pressed the same letter again - specially if the last word ended in the same letter the next word begins with.

But that's really only nitpicky things, overall it was a great game and I played it for way longer than I thought I would. Perfect mix of stress and fun and it didn't feel like losing was the games fault, it was your fault for typing wrong/too slow. I also enjoyed how the asteroids had different speeds which made some strategy from the players side, aside from only typing the words as quickly as possible!

Delayed it for 5 minutes 33 seconds! I really liked the game, a great mix of fun and chaos. At first I fully didn't understand what to do and then I realized that I only had inventory space for 3 wood - this created a nice balance in the beginning! I enjoyed how chaotic it got towards the end and you learnt the map quickly! Audio was really nice as well :D

@3bt Thanks for your feedback, I definitely agree that a way to distinguish where you've picked up the upgrades would've been good, especially on the bigger levels! I'm happy you liked the game :D

@mimusangel @escarpoulpe Thank you for your feedback! The thinking regarding the theme was that a crash between the two vehicles would be inevitable and by delaying the (inevitable) crash for long enough you'd come out stronger than the enemy in the end. I do agree that we could've tied in the theme more however! Thank you both for your feedback and I'm happy you enjoyed the game :D

Protocol Delta by itsBoats 2022-04-08T18:53:00Z

I played this for quite a bit, it was really fun! I have no idea if my score is good or not, but it did feel like I got quite far! Something that could be worked a bit more on are the powerups, after a couple of runs I only felt like more double jumps were worth the sacrifice. Graphics are nice and the gameplay feel is great, good job! :D!

Delay The Asteroid by Techsposure 2022-04-06T15:40:26Z

A nice, simple game! It would've been nice if maybe the asteroid got "heavier" after a while so that the game itself became more challenging. Something else that could've been nice would've been if the score counter was something else than how much time had passed, maybe give score based on how many times you hit the asteroid? :) Overall I enjoyed your game a lot!

Mr. Second by Marvis 2022-04-08T20:28:34Z

The visuals are exceptional! I liked the puzzle mechanic. It feels like some of the jumps are a bit unforgiving for being a game that is (from what I can understand) mainly focused on puzzling. Some hitboxes felt a bit unfair as well. Other than that, the game itself, with the puzzles, was really good and surprisingly finished for being made during a jam! Great job :D

Jupiter Station - v0.5 by Kyra Sanchez 2022-04-07T15:38:06Z

Great game! I just kept on thinking "one more" when I couldn't win. At first the 10 second redraw of the hand was annoying until I realized the way it was supposed to be played, after that the game got more tactical. Graphics and audio were great and cohesive. Overall really good!

It was really fun! Sometimes it was hard seeing the bullets as you had a white background. I like how the stage is a bit different every time which makes the replayability higher! Overall a good game! :)

I really liked it! It was fun to play and even when you lost it felt like it was quick to get into action again. I liked the overall "feel" of the game. The further along you got the more the lasers got off sync with the timer so it was hard timing being under the platform with when the laser would shoot, but other than that it was fun! Maybe have different obstacles or change the direction of the conveyor belt or something if you continue working on the game? :)

A Little Bit Of Everything by Matt Ravenhall 2022-10-09T21:50:51Z

Call the Gods by Vorobus 2024-04-17T12:31:13Z

I think the graphics and audio were really nice! I struggled a bit with knowing the objective of the game at first, once I figured out how to get the boss summoned it made more sense! It would maybe be good to try to find a way to teach the players what the objective of the game is, and mostly what to do to reach it (to summon the boss)! Either by game design or by having a small written introduction or cut scene or something in the beginning of the game. As others have pointed out, the attack is a bit slow when hitting and it would be nice to visually know when it's been recharged!
