The air acceleration felt a bit heavy/slow to me at first. But after getting used to it, I was able to get pretty far. Good Job, it was fun.

joselor 2021-04-26 22:42

Never reached 27500 so i can't really rate the whole game, but i really liked what i played : the graphics are simple but that's not a problem, the acceleration is good and the controls can feel a bit slow when starting but I got used to it pretty quickly. It was a fun game

alina-baybulatova 2021-04-28 17:07

Good graphic and atmosphere) I really have fun to play this game! Thank you!

jasontherand 2021-04-28 17:59

I got to the bottom, and it was a perfect surprise! It was easy to maneuver, and had enough biomes to not feel repetitive. Great job!

pythooonuser 2021-04-28 18:48

I can't download the game :( After clicking "download" the page loads until request timeout.

Overall a pretty good game! I found the air acceleration hard to get used to, I wasn't able to beat it but got pretty far! I liked the graphics as well :D

took a little getting used to to figure out what my hitbox was. might have helped to have a visual indicator like a circle crosshair to indicatethe player's size? also i think theres some bug that causes the visuals to jitter when mousing downward when one is already pointed straight down? overall nice implementation though!

God dang it I managed 8.6k. I tried so hard but it's the best I could do. I love the concept and, quite obviously, it's very addicting. I played longer and more than I had anticipated. The mouse felt too sensitive for me but I didn't have to use it very much either so ... just a minor thingamybob. Other than that, this is really a great little title.

@pythooonuser Hey, what web browser do you use?

pythooonuser 2021-04-28 19:22

Firefox

szkocka 2021-04-28 19:28

@pythooonuser Did you try downloading using private window?

pythooonuser 2021-04-28 19:41

Okay, I got it working :) I loved the Dark Souls reference^^ Sideways movement felt a bit slow, and it was quite tricky at times. Slowing down time definetly helps a lot.

szkocka 2021-04-28 19:53

@pythooonuser Yeah, in the process I thought of adding stamina for the slowing down time, but later I realized that it might make the game feel "unfairly hard" due to random generation of the well. So I decided to leave it as it was and balance the game around that ;)

dom-de-re 2021-04-29 05:12

Took quite a while to get the hang of, but was worth the effort, a fun game!

bmacintosh 2021-04-29 05:27

Nice job, the game is intuitive and plays well. The art was quite good as well, and I was surprised that there were three completely different biomes. I made it in one with liberal use of the slow key, but it felt challenging and took concentration.

shieldssounds 2021-04-30 16:53

I'm scared of heights, so this was very fun for me!

egercreator 2021-04-30 21:09

Nice game, liked it!

Nice game. The camera rotation suffers a bit from gimbal lock which was not ideal but the movement was good. I managed to get to the end, but only by holding space for the entire third section. I found releasing space sped you up again so quickly I lost track of how things were moving and nearly always died straight away. The first two seconds thing seemed a bit of a hack. I did fly through bridges several times during that period. It would have been better to delay spawning of obstacles for a distance at the start. Perhaps just the bridges. I appreciated the extremely overdone intro scene.

axlplosion 2021-05-01 20:31

I've never seen an ending for game with this style of gameplay, so that was a nice surprise, and having different scenery along the fall worked as a nice invisible progress bar and also made the game feel less repetitive. The moving minecarts were a nice touch too!

kripakov 2021-05-02 12:14

Minecraft style tutorial, awesome! The reference to one famous cake game at the end made me happy. Good enty! Maybe the locations change a little more often, even if they would be repeated, and the camera speed is of course very high, but it's still a cool game! Good job!

mza 2021-05-02 16:31

The falling was good and fun. The Slowdown time is much needed. At times i was playing with the space bar pressed because I wanted to reach the bottom so bad and that I am not good at this game. Just be aware that players will abuse the spacebar.

I dont feel like there is a point to the moving of the camera. When falling, the only direction i'm concerned with is down. Initially, i started with a hand on the mouse and one on the keyboard. I disregarded the mouse late and focussed both hands on the keyboard for more control of my movements.

27500 is a bit too deep. I would have prefered different levels of increasing deepness. For example LV 1 = 500m, LV2 = 1000m etc... This'll also give a sense of progression too.

fy0 2021-05-05 15:19

Interesting game. But really hard to controll, i can't reach bottom.

louis-mareau 2021-05-05 18:18

That was fun! After a first try that clipped me outside the hole and get the top score while just watching the giant grey cylinder passing by, I tried again and died. Then died again (poor me) and then got a lot further. The controls felt a bit junky at first (like too much sensitivity, maybe) but got used to it quickly.

Great entry for the jam. Great job!

szkocka 2021-05-07 13:17

@louis-mareau Hey, thanks for playing, when I get a minute I will patch this issue by just making the game not spawn the bridges in the first few segments.I implemented collider deactivation so you wont die instantly while spawning and hiting the bridge(I didnt have a system to change segments generated at the time of implementation of that failsafe). Thanks for the feedback

This was the most addictive game for me so far! I wanted to get to the bottom so badly. Don't know how many times I retried. I appreciate your tactical decision to restart just by pressing R, this was all I needed to get hooked. And I made it after all, nice ending, I felt very satisfied to reach it!

I think you did a good job with the controls, they were not easy to master, but that's exactly how the game should feel. I actually didn't find anything that looked unfinished, very nice game!
