Great job! Im very impressed with the AI given the time constraints.
This is my first Ludum Dare. It didnt turn into as much of a game as it was planned to be, but its still cool to make some artwork for yourself. Originally the plan was to have you match a pattern to be more fun.
@amras0000 I actually made it like that to begin with, and the code is still in there if you think I should make it an option. When I tried it that way my hand got very tired, which is why I changed it to the toggle.
The graphics and sound were so cute! I really enjoyed the game, I wish there were more levels!
Really fun game. On 5th try I finally made it down to the skull depth, and made it to 22700 before finally dying.
The music is fun, the visuals all work really well together, and it is appropriately challenging. I wish the transition from zone1 to zone 2 was faded so it is not so jarring, but the other transitions were fine. I loved the lighting effects when the jellyfish would glow in the dark.
Nice game! It starts off pretty slow, but once you get the first o2 upgrade you can consistently get multiple treasures. The art was beautiful.
I love this! The humor was great, and I loved that you scripted a story in this time. Truly impressive.
I loved the hand drawn aesthetic and the scribbling sounds. Its only some areas that are too hard- I had 20 deaths in one place, and then another 30 in another where I finally gave up. Even then the main reason I gave up was because I respawned so far away from where the challenge was. I did not notice any bugs though, so congratulations on that! I would love to see this Idea expanded on also, so maybe instead of full boxes around the sub-levels, some of the structural elements of the inner level will be usable in the outer one. I really enjoyed this, good job!
Nice game! I enjoyed the different attacks to make it feel more varied. There were enough different enemies to be satisfying as well. A couple times I was attacked as soon as I fell to the next level though, so maybe keeping the enemies farther from the center until you drop would be good.
It must have been a lot of work making the different AI for each enemy, but as a player I think it was worth it. Each enemy felt challenging and needed a different strategy.
I loved the atmosphere and the journey. The art was beautiful, as was the sound. I also had the bug where I could not pan in the 2nd playthrough, but I still was able to finish it again. Great Job!
My first time playing a bird was already attacking me at the start, and after I killed it I could not move anymore. I think I realize now I must have de-selected the player. My second playthrough I made it to room 6, before I tried 2 different berries that instantly kill you and lost.
The game was cute, and it was surprising being able to play as three people at once. It was hard to select enemies by clicking on them though, maybe a larger area around them that could be clicked would be helpful.
I really enjoyed this game. My first time through I did end up getting killed by my old self, and I was shocked. The second time through I was much more strategic about how I played. I liked that the game made me think differently about how to solve the problem. The controls were fluid, and I did not really come across any bugs that I noticed. Good job!
Took me 3 tries, but I was able to win. Once I found the sprint key it was much more doable, but still difficult. I appreciate the story that went this, it was small, but enough to really make a difference. I was expecting to get motion sick going into this, but it wasnt bad actually. You did a good job of making it pretty to look at without the shapes making you sick. Nice job!
Great game. Not to difficult or punishing while still not being boring or trivial. The art was cute, I did not come across any bugs, and it told a nice little story. Great Job!
The game was fun and funny. I enjoyed the different enemies, and how the story trickled out. I want to know more about the not-bartender now. The shooting felt good, and I liked how it pushed enemies back. Great job!
I got to the bottom, and it was a perfect surprise! It was easy to maneuver, and had enough biomes to not feel repetitive. Great job!
After figuring out the controls, and that the jetpack ran out of gas, the game was very fun and a good challenge. It felt fun to play, although I admit I never used the wall grab, but that didnt keep me from winning. Also the music and sound effects were nice.
The graphics and animation in this were astounding! I enjoyed the gameplay, I beat the final boss with only a little bit of health left. I think sound effects for the spells and damage would have gone a long way to making this feel more complete. Also a powerup for increased range would have been fun.
Very creepy! It draws you in with forbidden knowledge. I feel like I need to know what happened to her now. Nice job setting the scene so well!
The controls worked very well, and it was very intuitive to play. I think I only got hit twice while playing. I lost my last tail piece, and I got studded from hitting the head. I wasnt sure what being stun changed, since you couldn't change your trajectory mid-air anyway.
I played it both in browser and on windows. Sometimes it would duplicate the music when it started the game. Also on windows, somehow my player got faster at some point, where I could move left and right very quickly. Restarting the game didnt even fix it. The layer switching was interesting, but I found it difficult knowing what was on each layer. Maybe a color filter or something might have helped?
It was a novel idea though to traverse a 3d space in a purely 2d game, and it was very creative of you to think of it.
Absolutely beautiful! The story was very strong and the visuals and sound reinforced it the whole way, so it was very impactful. There wasnt really much gameplay other than moving around a rock or a pond, but it was not tedious because of the visual diversity. I really enjoyed it.
Wow! This was such a good game for such little time. The game looked great and sounded good. The story was funny, and the top down 3d felt great. Great job!
I also did not win my first playthrough, and it took me a while to find the captain's room key, but I was able to find it. It was a lot of fun, with truly impressive art, and a wide range of systems. This was very impressive.
I also enjoyed the fish swimming outside the windows.
This was good fun, with a great environment. I loved the different 'biomes', especially the burning milk. I tried pretty hard, but I was not able to beat it because at the end I did not know what could and could not be touched anymore, and it took so long to get back there. I got to the Hollywood sign like 4 times, and got as far as the cow before dying.
Great job! I loved the variety in puzzles. You were able to make so many more levels than I was expecting.
This was very well done! I didnt come across any bugs, and the game was a good challenge the entire time. I think it took like 4 tries to beat the final boss, getting further each time. The levels were maybe a little big to have to restart if you died towards the end, but otherwise it was a nice amount of content and never felt like I was repeating the same thing. Great job!
This was cute and fun. The second map took me several tries, and in the end I was only able to keep piggy alive on that level, but I did it!
The effects of each camera could be made clearer, and being able to turn thing on and off or open and closed would be great.
I loved the feel of the game from the Art and Music. It really set the mood well. I enjoyed the combat too. Unfortunately after the first boss I could not figure out how to get to the next level.
Great Job! I got up to 46 seconds.
I like the music a lot, and the feel of trying to frankly save everyone is well done. It is a tough balance between avoiding the chaser and trying to save people. Every time I focused too much on one the other got me. I wish there was some visual representation for the ability cooldowns, but that is not super important.
P.S. on an Xbox controller the left analog stick can only move left and right, not up and down.
Wow. That was a trip. The grandma was so wonderfully creepy! I only managed to find 12/13 stories. Is there more if you keep delaying the inevitable? Or is there a way to see the fishmonger's daughter? I have so many questions and want to know more, so great job! It was funny and moody and very unique. Great job!
Ps. you tried our game (death and taxes) earlier while it was broken and is fixed now. We would love if you gave it another shot!
Amazing, absolutely fabulous game! Every new day brought both joy and terror. The art was super cute, the dialog was funny, and it was fun to play. I was very much not expecting the Saturday animal, it was a very funny surprise. Great job!
So good! The fact that you did both a strategy and an action layer is very impressive. This game is huge! I loved the different biomes, and the fact they each had their own soundtrack was awesome. The exploration movement was fun, and it always felt doable to avoid the enemies, while still being a challenge. Fantastic job!
This was so much fun! My wrist is cramping a little bit, but it was just so good. That last level had me hating green, but I got it! It is a very clever idea, and the levels were well designed. The music had the right level of urgency too it also; it fit nicely. Great job all around.
I really loved this! The balloons were such a blessing and a curse. I bought a lot of time with them, but then the bombs falling on them would really ruin my day lol. The planes felt like the right amount of difficulty, and it was nice to have the checkpoints. The sounds I found fittingly funny, and the movement of the penguin was really cool. I appreciated that you could stall out when you fell too fast, and have no control over your movement. It is really impressive that there seems to be actual physics, not just move left move right.
I got up to 128! This was very funny and absurd. It was fun to see all the different things you could put in the way, the only thing I would change is making things easier to pick up. I would walk around pressing space trying to get the thing only to be too far to the side. Still, it helped keep up the panic feel and made everything feel frantic. You all did a great job!
Really nice job! I got 593! It escalates quite quickly from I dont need any sprays, to spraying all over and hoping you dont dissolve any trophies, which was fun. I also appreciated that there was some strategy in letting people move the trophies away from the edge and not killing them instantly. I loved all the visual effects, and it was cool to have a diverse array of enemies. Very nicely done, I had a great time.
Nice job! I got up to 131. I loved the bullet trails and hit effects, they looked so good, and the amount of art in the level was very impressive. The shop looked super fabulous, and the gameplay movement also felt great. You can tell this was refined and well designed all the way through.
Awesome game! I did fail the first time I played because I thought I was cutting the wire under the light, but it did not take long to actually figure it out. I would definitely enjoy an increase in difficulty, so that you have to cut multiple wires, so I am glad you have plans to add that stuff. Also your art and the web background look fantastic, really top notch.
I got to 107.
I got 16675!
This was fun. I liked having to strategize how to explore, and that you could not really go back. As resources dwindled it was so sad making my last big torch and finding no new resources. I basically knew I was going to die, and just made one lone small torch in hope of a savior, but it was not meant to be. Great mood, and I would like to play a version of this in the future with more kinds of torches/workmen that have different strategies. Like a scouting only light, or a directional light, faster miners, etc.
Nice work!
I would love to see this expanded to a whole conversation. Its a clever idea, and I think you all executed it very well. The platforming feels good and the level design is nice. The art looks good and cohesive, and the soundtrack fit well. Great job!
Fantastic game! This is really impressive. The art is so good, and the gameplay is tight! I got to Rep 193. I wish there had been more reason to move around the map and try to take the fight away from the door, and the spin attack helped with that, but maybe some powerups or something around the map would be fun? Either way, amazing job!
What a lovely experience. You captured those moments very well, and the interactions really helped set their place and make you feel more of a part of the story. It was very immersive, and the music was wonderful. I would love to see more.
The art was really fantastic. I could almost hear the weather just from the mood. It made me sad that people stopped coming, so you really were able to capture everything very well. Lovely job.
