LD42 — Running out of space

Mobile Hazards by Cliff Lee CL 2020-04-22T03:03:46Z

I found the game to be interesting and really immersive. The small things like making the game's aspect ratio be like the size of a phone, using mobile logos, and having the UI gameplay buttons use phone lingo (like Shut Down for Quit) all helped keep me inside the game world that you've created. Really nice and simple game you've got here, well done!

LD45 — Start with nothing

God Mode by wdebowicz 2019-10-08T22:00:19Z

Great typing game and beautiful animations to go along with the story. I can totally see this being implemented for educational purposes. Music as well has a pretty chill vibe to it, making the whole game a really calming and enjoyable experience. If there's one thing that I would want to add to this entry, it would be to add more branching narratives to the story. It would be even more fun and help the game's replayability if I could choose how my adventure, and consequently my ending, would play out.

Keep up the exceptional work!

Scrap Time by auxC 2019-10-09T18:54:25Z

Wow, really fun to play while graphic is really good too. Really loved the gameplay and the gradual upgrade system. It is fun when it gets chaotic in the game. The slight camera movement with the impact gives it an extra feel of realism to it, and I really loved what you did there. Control were amazing and smooth, so it's very easy to evade. Great game and great job.

New start at N.O.T.H.I.N.G. Ltd. by Shigor 2019-10-08T23:50:06Z

A fun iteration on turn-based battles while implementing the theme of "start with nothing." I actually like the way your hand drawn graphics looked inside of your 3-D levels. Definitely makes the game's visuals more unique. I definitely appreciated the fact that you could speed up dialogue by holding down the left click button. Something I would pay attention to now would be giving the players more visual and audible feedback, especially during the battle scenes.

The Legacy of a Loser by citsua 2019-10-08T18:23:38Z

Love the art style and UI design, but the gameplay does get a bit repetitive after a while. I would suggest adding more dialogue options or having the characters respond differently each time to a specific piece of dialogue.

Really great look and the conversations were hilarious and entertaining!

Outsider by Shinmera 2019-10-08T18:47:36Z

Really liked the illustrations in the tutorial and how you walked the players through the controls in game. The lighting glitched often, but that was the only qualm that I could find. The death animations of the guard were extremely satisfying. If you add sound effects to this and lengthen the game as a whole, it would greatly enhance the experience.

Keep up the good work!

Nill by Jonathan Fischer 2019-10-09T18:15:30Z

First of all, the camera work is insane at the end, I definitely did not see that coming. Environment and level layout is great, the concept of walking through a maze is good, but better when there is enemies lurking around, giving the player this tension. Moreover, the concept of using nothing as something is very interesting, so great job on that. Nevertheless, great game and hope you guys have fun while making it.

SPEEDOSS by cax 2019-10-08T19:30:46Z

Great use of the theme and hilarious af. I can also appreciate the throwback to retro graphics

Becoming Something. by zoarfy 2019-10-08T21:08:37Z

Nice fading in of the text and animated cutscenes. The assets were also impressive given the amount of time you had. For the first puzzle, I'm not sure if the stool served any purpose when you become it. That confused me for a little. But overall, the visual look and music really carried the mood and feel of the game. Great work!

Carnival Mayhem by TomekS 2019-10-08T18:35:06Z

Art assets are stunning and fit the atmosphere of a haunted carnival. The animations and effects were also really appealing. I felt a bit of input delay from the controls, but that might've been just on my end. I would also suggest making the UI bars for the Player's Health and Clowns at the top to be larger so that they're easier to see.

Overall though, very impressive work!

Reutemeteut (web) by croewens 2019-10-08T22:37:55Z

I'm digging the physics-based movement of the player with the ability to accelerate and decelerate extremely quickly. It reminds me a lot of Happy Wheels, which I spent hours playing way back when it was popular. The beginning menu also looks great and really well done. Add some more sound and visual effects and you got yourself a really fun game.

Nothingland by dreml 2019-10-09T00:32:50Z

Really simple yet entertaining game. Perhaps an addition of sound effect can further enhance the experiences. I really like the used of transparency to indicate the health of the enemies, well done!!

Hide It / Break It / Pay It by Raivk 2019-10-09T18:25:10Z

I do think this is a very interesting game, and certainly takes more than one try to fully experience the game. There's really nice level design in here, and plus the audio changes with regard to time, so it sounds more intense which is a nice indication for time. On top of that, UI and menu design is very clean and simplistic, really loved it. Great game and great job.

Galactic Letters by Kamulec 2019-10-08T23:16:27Z

The game mechanic of having the player's and the enemies' bullets ricochet off other surfaces is extremely fun to play with. Instead of just linearly trying to shoot my enemies, it's entertaining to come up with a variety of ways to take them down while keeping myself safe in the process. For me personally, I felt that the ship was a bit too "slidey" in its movement. It was hard to dodge enemy bullets out of pure reaction time due to the ship's acceleration and deceleration. On the other hand, this movement system forced me to play more cautiously (which might be what you want), me trying to predict where enemy bullets would land instead of rambunctiously charging in guns blazing.

Overall, great work in turning a simple concept into a really fun game.

Drifter Mall by Sergio1811 2019-10-08T19:14:53Z

The quantity of art assets is impressive for such a short amount of time. Great variety in the visual look of the models in the Catalog and game. I would love to hear more sound effects for the collisions since the gameplay revolves around crashing into everything you can see.

Good job team, keep up the good work!

Departure by Nathaniel Jensen 2019-10-08T19:25:47Z

Notable amount of puzzles and gameplay for the player. The art is great for such a short amount of time and clearly informs the player of what to do next without giving away too much information. The keyboard controls of Z, X, E, and Q isn't exactly ideal for the left hand so I would suggest optimizing that better.

Good work!

Addicted by Stefan0198 2019-10-08T19:04:51Z

The dolls and the ambient sound really conveys the horror atmosphere of the underground subway. I also liked the game mechanic of having the drugs be a double-edged sword, slowing down the enemies while also giving the player hallucinations. Something that I would suggest would be for the players to run away from the doll so that when they turn around and see the doll again, it's all the more scarier.

Great level design and well done concept!

Knights vs Hobos by Kenarf 2019-10-08T15:35:43Z

I would recommend having a background color to the HP sliders (if they are sliders) or add text above the HP so that it's easier for the players to see how much damage they can take/deal. Overall, a simple concept pulled off well, good job.

With Nothing by ShellDragon 2019-10-09T18:42:02Z

Really like the style you have here, very old school looking. I like the music in the game, it really helped create the atmosphere, so well done on that. Maybe add in some more sound effects, too. Also, the text in the menu screen isn't crop properly, so texts are difficult to follow. Otherwise, good job on the game and hope y'all had fun making it.

Empty Level by shevek 2019-10-09T18:31:51Z

Interesting game where player get to set up their own level. Perhaps an addition of a background track and sound effect can enhance the game experiences. Otherwise, it's a solid game on its own.

Flat Empire by Dani Riwez 2019-10-08T23:32:46Z

Could turn out to be a fun clicker game on mobile given some extra gameplay mechanics and polish towards the audio and visual effects department. I also really like the application of hexagonal pieces that you decided to use for the look of this game.

The Auction House by Huntrox 2019-10-08T23:25:53Z

The background and UI of the game perfectly conveys the feel of an actual auction house. Player feedback, such as the status of a bid on an item, is also well conveyed. Speaking about items, there was an impressive amount of them seen in the game given the time constraints of the jam. If you were to improve upon this, I would suggest maybe providing the players who aren't familiar with how an auction house works with a couple tips in the beginning as I personally was a bit lost at first trying to figure out what to do. Exceptional entry to this Ludum Dare!

Desert Tiles by Wubbl 2019-10-08T21:34:01Z

Didn't expect that dark turn in the beginning, props to everyone who create the introduction. When I first got into game, I was a bit overwhelmed by the amount of information each plant had. However, when I got into the game more, I started to appreciate the depth of the plant management system. Maybe providing players with an interactive tutorial would help lessen the initial overload of things to take in.

Great game and especially great intro!

The Ninja Chronicles by SaltFactory Studio 2019-10-08T20:18:36Z

@chaosed0 Thanks for the informative feedback! We'll definitely try and emphasize enemy feedback more in our later projects.

The Ninja Chronicles by SaltFactory Studio 2019-10-08T20:22:09Z

@mechwarrior99 You pretty much touched everything we thought of in how we could better our game. Thanks for playing The Ninja Chronicles!

The Ninja Chronicles by SaltFactory Studio 2019-10-08T20:39:52Z

@blint6 Lol we're glad you had fun with our game. Maybe we could've altered the y offset a bit more for the camera so that the jumps are less frustrating.

The Ninja Chronicles by SaltFactory Studio 2019-10-09T02:55:52Z

@zoarfy Our current solution to deal with enemies that are behind the player (them being untargetable) is to have the player move up a bit while the enemy pursues you, then jump back and over the enemy so that the player can hit the enemies again. However, this is just a band aid slapped on to the problem and we definitely should've balanced out the awareness of the enemies better so that these edge cases don't happen.

Regardless, we're glad you enjoyed the game still and thanks for the informative feedback zoarfy!

Super Goat Life by Olivier argentieri 2019-10-08T19:49:32Z

Chill music and cute assets. Really interesting approach to the theme as well. I also appreciate the amount of work you spent on the look and number of UI options in the Menu.

Overall a fun and relaxing game!

Monolith by Kalucifer 2019-10-08T20:53:32Z

The player froze for me after I entered the room after the first puzzle. But I really dig the music and the effort that you put into the art.

JO-KEN-DO! by Hcursino 2019-10-09T00:35:41Z

Funny and effective implementation of the theme inside this game. I would suggest keeping the scope smaller next time, especially for a game jam game, as the number of fighting stances became way too much for me to memorize. Overall, an extremely gameplay-filled game. Well done!

Fall of RS-17 Icarus - an Akaban Tale by Kooshy 2019-10-09T19:07:51Z

Great sound in background, really helped built the atmosphere you're looking to create. First section took me a while, probably because I didn't know to pick up the 'wires' and ended up walking back and forth. Movement is a bit slow in my opinion.I think overall it's a decent game and enjoyable, but with some more improvement it can turn into a great game. Nevertheless, good job!

A Soul Journey by ModdingMachine 2019-10-08T19:41:06Z

Even though the game is incomplete, the game idea that you had is solid. It would be great to see what you could expand upon this concept once you learn more about Unity. I would suggest keeping a smaller scope when making a game under such time constraints so that you can implement more on what you want to do.

Great start and keep it up!

ModularArena by PepinoSMH 2019-10-08T23:00:28Z

I personally love the game mechanic of combining different parts to create something entirely new. However, the actual gameplay could use a lot of work in terms of visual and audible feedback. With some more time put into this game, it could turn out to be a really fun shooter-up. Keep grinding my man.

Collector by MechWarrior99 2019-10-08T21:49:53Z

Extremely impressive visuals and well-placed assets for the level design. The environment as a whole looked realistic and engaging to be apart of. For the gameplay, I felt like the blobs multiplied themselves a bit too fast. However, I did like the look of a mob of purple goo chasing me wherever I went. I would suggest then maybe adding a range to the blobs so that they only chase me within a certain radius. The UI could also use a bit of work as it seemed a bit lackluster compared to the amazing graphics of the game.

An interesting game and a great entry to this Ludum Dare.

Moon Claw by Bebsy 2019-10-08T15:55:16Z

Just wanted to tell you that your link isn't working at the moment.

Rekindling Of Iron by HKSpadez 2019-10-09T00:19:06Z

I pretty much agree with everything that other people have commented. The environment and level design looks extremely professional with the game. However, the lighting makes it really hard to see the danger within the levels. I can't even pass the second room due to the lasers hitting me out of nowhere. Fix this and maybe decrease the difficulty of the enemies (at least in the beginning) and the game would be extremely good, though it is great already. Good work!

MetaSpace by Jahwffrey 2019-10-08T23:42:49Z

Hilarious game. Y'all should audition for Hollywood. On the real, totally did not expect to see any live action inside of a game jam entry but happy to see it.

Escape the Minotaur by mrabnox 2019-10-08T16:48:11Z

Pros: Ambient sound definitely created a suspenseful atmosphere. The variety in level design also made it more interesting. The animation of the minotaur was hilarious.

Cons: Optimization for frame rate and lighting. The minotaur's footsteps could be made more evident to increase the tension of the game. Some things that I was confused about were that the chests took up my keys without opening, not sure if they required more than one key or a bug. I was also not sure about the function of the sword.

I'd give it a 7.5/10, great work!

Soldier of Fortune by JYoungman 2019-10-08T21:41:37Z

Really clever game mechanic of having the players fill out their own stats. Reminds me of the RPG games that people made on paper back in elementary school (at least in my elementary school). I would suggest spending more time on the art of the game, maybe adding a short battle scene between the two players for each round or polishing the UI as whole.

LD46 — Keep it alive

Nightwatch by Neon 2020-04-26T02:00:18Z

Really cool visual and atmosphere you got here, despite this being a simple game. It does seem a bit creepy at first wandering into the dark, and I was worried not being able to find my way back in complete darkness. Nevertheless, keep up the great work!

The Wait by devilqube 2020-04-27T02:20:09Z

This is a great survival game where the player doesn't just worry about one thing. Having to worry about not just the fire dying but also your hunger and warmth makes the game much more interesting. Controlling the player could use some more work, since it doesn't feel very natural walking around. As a result, in my experience, that makes picking up food a bit more challenging compared to woods, probably due to its size. I really love the randomly generated level layout though, so each level brings a unique experience, like one time my camp was at the corner of the map. Great work and great entry!

Mothership by Marcionix 2020-04-29T02:38:26Z

Simplistic but engaging gameplay, doesn't get any better than that. Took some time running around at the start figuring out what to do, but once I got the hang of it it's quite easy. Great work!

Super Rally by Fengol 2020-04-27T02:01:46Z

A simple yet enjoyable game of tennis, though I might suggest implementing levels of difficulties into the game as the player gets higher score to sort of challenge the player. Great work!

Fueled by Fire by Scornz 2020-04-22T03:25:40Z

Movement controls and attacks all feel really fluid and super impactful. I also really like the taking damage effect where the player's view shakes and gets kinda hazy from the enemy's attacks. Tutorial is nice, simple, and to the point. The bonus feature of the leaderboard is sure to add lots of replayability for more competitive players out there as well. Really great job for this Ludum Dare!

Keep it alive by smirnov48 2020-04-28T02:26:30Z

Really cool idea and fun gameplay overall. I loved how you can hit through multiple enemies with one shot, that makes it all the more satisfying. I managed to beat all the level, and the different enemies look pretty cool too. Great work!

Emergency Call by rootools 2020-04-29T03:25:50Z

Fun little game of trying to do two things at once. It's a good concept and just need some more polishing. That being said, the crazy hand movement is cool to look at even though control is difficult. Great work!

Useless Machines Inc. by herniewise 2020-04-23T02:54:31Z

Took me a while to understand what I had to do, but best I could do was 2 minutes lol. Amazing graphic, simplistic but matches the atmosphere. Great job!

NightForestWatch by ThiefViolinist 2020-04-24T02:49:19Z

I feel like some audio or sound effect could really enhance the gameplay, like how you're alone in the dark surround by animals. Other than that, great art style, very clean looking model and environment. There's a few things here and there that can use some polishing but overall it's a great game. Nice job!

Forest Idle by Firewill 2020-04-27T06:22:51Z

Really creative game idea of restoring the world back visually through color as you fight against an evil force. I also love me a clicker game as well. Great job given such a short time period!

Keep It Alive by ZenriS 2020-04-27T03:12:13Z

Great game, really test your attention to the order and suck. Sometime it feels good to randomly being able to guess the order in time. I love the complexity as the level progress, it was really fun to deflect the laser away. Great game indeed!

Birb Island by ursagames 2020-04-27T06:10:03Z

I love this creative rendition of your typical collectible game. I can see lots of potential in this project becoming a full fledged game given enough time and polish. Like others have mentioned, I also feel like procedural generation for your islands would help keep the gameplay fresh and interesting. With your crafting system as well, there is lots of emergent gameplay to be had for your players within this game. Nice work!

The God Of Adventurers by Lucille Blumire 2020-04-28T05:05:52Z

Graphics are great, I love the visual look that you have going on. The gameplay itself is also pretty interesting and has a lot of depth for a game jam submission. I know there probably wasn't enough time, but adding a tutorial for the different mechanics that you have in the game currently would help make the game a lot more enjoyable for players. Overall though, nice job!

Desert Decryptor by homeworld 2020-04-28T04:15:28Z

It is a cool sight to be able to stand on top a moving rover and watch the landscape fly by. The atmosphere and art style of the game is pretty good. I like that it is a puzzle game and challenge you to think as you play, and it is challenging in my opinion. The direction wasn't very clear at first, but it is simple enough, I just couldn't figure out the second puzzles. Nevertheless, solid work and great game!

Keeping Your Fire Alive by Louis Hong 2020-04-27T02:55:27Z

The atmosphere can be absolutely terrifying at time, and that the glowing eyes in the dark really does it jobs. For some reason, I found the smaller eyes to be much scarier than the large red one. The ambient sound really makes you feel like you're alone in the dark, and that I was expecting something to jump out of the dark after I cleared all the trees. The mood of the game is exceptional, great work!

Seafood by fatPenguin 2020-04-28T04:43:31Z

Everything about the game is simply amazing. Really cool environment thanks to both the art style and the music, it really set this mood throughout the game. Gameplay was fun and engaging, I wished there were more levels but it's been great so far. The only minor problem I ran into was the baby fish getting stuck occasionally on the wall, so I had to back track a bit. Beside that, this is crazy amount of work for two days, great job to the both of you! Really cute character design too.

Memories by Matsudasu 2020-04-24T22:01:24Z

I really liked the sound and mood that you conveyed with your game. It fits extremely well with the theme of memories and really helps me as the player feel immersed in your game. I also liked your game idea of incorporating the memories theme with the mechanics of a memory game. Combined with the mood you created, I would love to see this game be further worked on and polished because it's so unique and has so much potential to grow. Good job!

P.S. Make sure to rate and comment on other people's games as well so that your game gets more visibility. You need at least 20 ratings on a game for you to see your game's overall ratings. Hope to see you in the comments too and have fun!

Don't Hang Up on Mom by FiscallyDeficient 2020-04-24T22:09:26Z

Sound effects and visuals really help made the game entertaining to play. Once I loaded up the game and saw the mom image, I knew this game was going to be something else lol. Nice work!

P.S. Make sure to rate and comment on other people's games as well so that your game gets more visibility. You need at least 20 ratings on a game for you to see your game's overall ratings. Hope to see you in the comments too and have fun!

Highway to Hell by 0x3F 2020-04-26T01:53:20Z

The feeling of driving is conveyed well by the movement controls that you've programmed for the car. There is also an incredible amount of environmental art and assets in this game given such a short time period. Well done!

LAST HUMAN by GuitarBro 2020-04-23T03:57:56Z

Really nice music throughout the game, and gameplay is exciting and fast paced since you are forced to move around and aim. I also like how the player can feel the impact of each shot, it just makes the experience more immersive. I totally forgot about the inventory system the first playthrough until people mentioned it in the comment. Great game and great work!

9Lives by Tec 2020-04-28T03:50:53Z

First level took some time figuring out, even though the goal is to get the cat to the gate. It's great that there's story behind this. Really love the cut out graphic, it has a very unique look to it. Cool game! The UI text are a bit blurry though.

The Forest Below by raphy 2020-04-22T04:02:18Z

This game does take a while for me to get a hang off, maybe because I couldn't understand the instruction well enough. The environment design is stunning though, it is very immersive. Great job!

Enshrine by MicroChasm 2020-04-22T03:32:32Z

I love it, a really unique puzzle game that require players to think their about their next steps. Instruction was thorough and easy to follow. Sometime I though I would get spotted but end up being fine and other time vice versa. Overall, amazing work.

Hextayin' Alive by alareo 2020-04-28T04:56:14Z

Really interesting game with unique concept, though I couldn't figure out what to do. Maybe the game is too complex for me personally for nevertheless great work!

Night in the Garden by nikchernyakov 2020-04-26T02:58:01Z

Level design was exceptional, sometime I am genuinely scared walking into the dark. The atmosphere of the environment is very fitting with the theme. The monster plants are very unique, especially the small alien-like monster. My only problem, really, was the control of the flashing and movement in general. I felt like it could be better but overall this is amazing. Great job!

Pet Slime! by staircase27a 2020-04-27T06:28:09Z

I really like your game idea of trying to breed and grow the best collection of slimes as possible. It reminds me a lot of breeding and training in Pokemon for some reason. While I do wish you could control multiple slimes at the same time, maybe micromanaging was an intended gameplay mechanic that you wanted. Regardless, this game is a great submission for this Ludum Dare. Great job!

Perish alive by Lyrcaxis 2020-04-28T03:34:29Z

Really cool concept and gameplay, having to managed three crew workers between five or so stations. At first try I didn't really know what to do, but eventually I got a hang of it on next try. It does gets pretty challenging later on to the game, so I pretty much can only use one crew to farm resources while the other two have to constantly man the station to fend off the jellyfish. Excellent art style and music, really sets up the mood of the game. Great work!

DEBUGGER by randomnine 2020-04-27T06:44:02Z

I love the graphics for this game. It reminds me of the GameBoy and all the amazing games I used to play on that thing during elementary school. The solid control scheme as well as having plenty of visual and audio feedback is extremely impressive for a game jam. Really nice work!

Hamorigami by bitbrain 2020-05-04T22:05:42Z

Like others have mentioned, the visual aesthetics of the game is very appealing and the music sounds great. Some UI to help the players figure out the win/lose state of the game would help make your game much more appealing. All in all, great work!

Feed Charles by mmmcgill1232 2020-04-22T02:28:49Z

Great visual with a simple yet engaging gameplay. Control does take a few tries to get a hang of it, but once you do it's hard to stop playing. I do wish there are some more variation to the level as the player progress to increase the challenge. Nevertheless, great game and great job!

Memory of the Fallen by Axefall 2020-04-23T03:07:30Z

I would suggest condensing the map size since there's a lot of empty space around, and maybe you can try scaling up the tileable texture so it doesn't look too repetitive. It is an interesting game overall, so great job!

Overwatch by rkhadder 2020-04-22T02:48:15Z

Yoo, I loved the voice acting and background track for this game. It really added to the game's suspense and sense of danger. The art assets are also simple yet really well done for having such a short time period to work. While the player does sometimes spazz out when reaching a certain tile, I found the whole game itself to be really enjoyable and fun. I can easily see this becoming a much bigger and more fleshed out project if you decide to keep working on this game. Great work!

Hack'n Dice by Fluffy_Kaeloky 2020-04-27T02:28:44Z

First of all, the art style of the game is exceptional, it fits in really well with the gameplay and overall theme. I was confused about the function of the dice beside the HP one, so some tutorials or hint along the way would've been nice. Also, I didn't find the dice to influence the fight much, though I know how to direct our heroes to a specific enemies instead. Either way, with the given time you guys have, this is really amazing, and with some more tweaks and polishing this game could go a long way. Amazing work!

Feed Him by nanocube75 2020-04-26T02:06:33Z

Such a hilarious death sound, it almost makes you feel guilty feeding those people to the monster. I feel like control could use a bit more polishing since it doesn't feel very natural yet, but otherwise everything is how it should be. Great entry and great work!

The spruce of life by Deimort 2020-04-29T03:08:43Z

Really nice idea for gameplay and environment. I could barely get past second level because I can't seem to handle a flower pot properly. End up breaking it more than a dozen time. Great game though.

Fish in Peril by GreenDinoGames 2020-04-24T22:14:21Z

Like everyone else has mentioned, the game looks extremely polished. The amount of art assets and animations for the movable animals is incredible for such a short amount of time. The gameplay itself is also simple and enticing due to the amount of visual and audio feedback you put in the game. I also really appreciate the accomplishments and high score that you put at the end of the game. They really help make me want to keep playing your game more as to achieve everything that can be unlocked inside the game. Overall, it's a really great game and I hope to see more in the upcoming Ludum Dares

The Battle of R'lyeh by lauramei 2020-04-23T03:45:38Z

It's really nice that you included a tutorial in the game itself even though the game is fairly simple. Really love the art style of the game. I do wish there might be more levels with different layout and such. Great work nonetheless!

A Case of the MOONDAYS by Dylan Pineo 2020-04-22T03:00:07Z

Gameplay is simple yet engaging, movement could be improved but certainly did not take away the fun. The audio really does drive you near the end. Great work guys!

Manifest Destiny by SaltFactory Studio 2020-04-23T02:34:59Z

@kupnu4 @defectivemelon @hexiez123 Thanks for playing and giving us feedbacks, we really appreciate it. The camera mechanic could certainly improve if we had more time, but overall it turn out pretty good.

Manifest Destiny by SaltFactory Studio 2020-04-24T02:34:43Z

@san2020 @hamrathdoesldjam Glad you guys loved the music. Took some time finding the appropriate track, but it was worth it.

@egawag They sure turns out pretty cool.

@zubspace Having teamates really makes a difference in gameplay.

@pepperkep @hamrathdoesldjam We agree, we can definitely work on improving those aspects of the game in the near future.

Manifest Destiny by SaltFactory Studio 2020-04-26T03:05:11Z

@joemid That is an impressive narration of the game, maybe we should've included something like that before the game start, really set the overall tone of the game. Thanks for the feedbacks!

@ankou We had a bigger plan for resource management but had to cut back due to time constraint, but we're glad that you had a great time.

@savvu Thanks for playing, the camera animation is really cinematic, we are glad to be able to implement that in. Good luck to you too.

Manifest Destiny by SaltFactory Studio 2020-04-29T02:25:36Z

@josephbyam Yes indeed, we hope you had fun playing it.

@nathan-wiles @likirus We understand that control and camera could certainly improved, we'll definitely work on implementing mouse control in future game as we're learning. Thanks for the feedbacks.

@bjornkri There are still a few minor problems that we didn't have time to address, but we are glad that you enjoyed playing and leaving feedbacks.

Manifest Destiny by SaltFactory Studio 2020-05-03T02:28:10Z

@thevinter Wow, we are glad to hear that you played our game on stream, thanks a lot for the shout out.

@microchasm @jay-berlin Glad that you guys have fun playing the game, and leave us really useful feedback and suggestions. We will be sure to make some improvement before the next LD comes around. Thanks a lot!

@francisco-lucas Thanks, we'll be sure to check yours out too.

@fatpenguin First off, really appreciate your in-depth feedbacks, we could really used this knowledges for future work. If we decide to continue working on this game then we can certainly add in more mechanics and gameplay like you mentioned. Nevertheless, we thank you for playing our game, leaving great feedback and recommendation, and sharing you advices.

Pirabbit by TimeTravelHamster 2020-04-22T00:13:34Z

Your gameplay loop is really addicting with the juicy art animations and sound effects. If I were to add something, I would like the game to have more UI as to tell me what the level of the player does or what the bar on the bottom means. But overall, really solid work, great job!

Keeper of the Flame by Elbapotsnugg 2020-04-28T04:46:02Z

The music and art for this game is well done for a game jam. If you had more time, I would suggest including more UI for player feedback as to what the player does (ex. chopping wood sound effect when collecting wood). But overall, I really like this implementation of combining a collectible game with the Keep it Alive theme. Good job man!

The last baby ninja by SeabirdDigital 2020-04-27T02:39:03Z

Really enjoyed the mobility of the player, such as allowing wall jump or double jumping in order to avoid the enemy. Loving the simplistic art style, and sort of remind me of my submission last year in LD 45. Control are a bit odd in my opinion. Still, I can tell that there is a lot of effort put into the game and it shows, so good work!

Operation inside by puggo pasta 2020-04-22T02:35:09Z

Gameplay is nice and simple and the music gives off an eerie vibe that helps make the player feel like danger is coming. I would suggest adding a timer/countdown so the player can feel that extra rush of time running out. Good job!

Protect_the_Dog by qerkes 2020-04-24T21:55:04Z

I really like the visual aesthetics that you chose for this game with the camera perspective being higher up as well as the art assets that you have. Having some visual and audio feedback for when things take damage, allies and enemies, would really make each laser shot feel more impactful and make your game even more fun to play. Some more UI, like the dog's health and the enemies' health, would also be nice feedback for the players to understand what is happening in the game. Great job man.

P.S. Make sure to rate and comment on other people's games as well so that your game gets more visibility. You need at least 20 ratings on a game for you to see your game's overall ratings. Hope to see you in the comments too and have fun!

Keep It Alive from nuclear explosion by IzhVaryag 2020-04-23T03:22:53Z

I like how scraping the side of the road can drastically slow you down, I think that is a nice touch to the game to make it more realistic. I also felt that adding more variety to both level and upgrade can make the game much more interesting as the player progress. It is a simple game and I enjoyed it. Great work!

ChargeMe by WMute 2020-04-22T02:47:28Z

Great environment with amazing graphic and audio. Great work.

To Save a Princess by Tylla 2020-04-22T03:41:00Z

You sir are crazy for making a RPG for a Ludum Dare game jam. I really like the music and art style of the game. Like everyone else mentioned, the game does get stuck often when talking to NPCs. However, I really liked how fluid the controls felt, especially the movement. I'd like to play this game more when you've debugged some of the prominent errors and fleshed out the world you've created. Good job!

Type or Die by pepperkep 2020-04-22T03:34:42Z

Really creative submission you have here, I'm always a sucker for typing games. Great way of implementing memes in your work as well. Nice job!

A Walk In The Park by ion-programming 2020-04-22T07:04:43Z

The aesthetics of the game are really nice. The music as well really complements the peaceful and chill atmosphere of the entire scene. I especially liked being able to interact with objects to see how they would react to real-life physics. Well done on a good game.

Keep Them Alive by Prototype Jon 2020-04-27T06:00:02Z

Great art and really solid gameplay. I definitely think the game's difficulty ramps up a bit too quickly for my liking (maybe I'm just bad though) but I really like the mechanic of controlling people. Nice job!

Bubba's Beach Balls by HuddyBuddyGreatness 2020-04-23T03:39:32Z

Very nice physic in the game, make swinging around really satisfying. Great job!

Stroller Rover by Kupnu4 2020-04-23T04:05:29Z

Loved the game mechanic and art style of the game. Really cool level with realistic mechanic such as charging with sunlight make the game really fun to play, even better with a radar to guide the player back to the rocket. Great work!

Fuel the Flame by TheStreet 2020-04-22T02:42:24Z

I found your choice for the game's aspect ratio to be really interesting. The game itself is also nice and has a good gameplay loop with players being able to replay the game fluidly without losing immersion. I especially liked your interactive tutorial with the player being able to see how the controls work in a little testing area. Overall, really great submission for this Ludum Dare!

Maintenance by bereg 2020-04-23T03:33:09Z

Great atmosphere combined with the music really helped with immersion. Not really sure what to do at first. Nevertheless, I really love the camera work and transition between the trains, it's quite cinematic. Nicely done!

Heart Runner by NesterGlover 2020-04-27T06:17:57Z

Really creative game idea of trying to keep the player's heartbeat and oxygen levels stable while running. I also really like the overall aesthetics of the game. All the art and visual effects that you put in this game jam is impressive given such a short amount of time. Good job!

Make sure you rate and comment on other peoples' games to get more people to rate and comment on your own!

Rickety, Rickety Robot by robcozzens2 2020-04-22T03:14:46Z

This game is certainly harder than it looks, and I had a great time playing it. Great puzzle design and the last one took me some time figuring out. Well done!

Egg Defender by SanicSpeedGames 2020-04-29T03:17:49Z

Good game overall with simple art style and lighting, plus the depth of field effect makes its more dramatic looking. My only concern is that it's hard to tell what is the range of the player, and if the shot have impacted the enemy. Right now I have to get real close in order to guarantee hitting them. Nevertheless, this is a great simple game, nice job!

Stay Stoked by NikeStores 2020-04-28T04:24:05Z

Loved the pixelated art and the soundtrack. Really remind me of old school game. If I were to make one suggestion it would be adding some more variety to gameplay, such as different enemy types, since gameply does get a bit repetitive the longer it goes on. I really like the attack animation you there though, pretty cool. Overall, great theme and really great work for first time entry!

Bon Bon and Eggward by moonblaststudios 2020-04-22T02:55:05Z

Music is great and I really dig the art and animations for the game. The world that you built is vibrant and really shows off your creativity. While I did find the tutorial to be a bit hard to beat (the high jump before learning how to sprint as well as the spikes for sprinting took me multiple tries to get past), I love your game idea and can see lots of potential for world building and level design in this work if you decide to keep polishing up the game. Nice job!

Keep It Alive by Deadwave Games 2020-04-26T02:19:38Z

Not only that the soundtrack in the background is impressive, but also the storyline. Really well written that just makes the reader wanting more after every lines. Combined with the music that slowly pushes you along, this makes a great horror reading experience. Amazing work!.

Kaya by atoGames 2020-04-24T03:00:40Z

I love the camera control in the game so that you have a clear view of the player at any angle. Though I feel like bullets is quite scarce though so I spent most of the time running from the enemy, and maybe that's the point of the game? Anyway, it is also cool that there's an inventory system and having to collect items to keep up. Great entry!

Save the torch! by eduardogacn 2020-04-28T04:56:50Z

Like everyone else has mentioned, this game has amazing graphics and looks great. The background music also fits in well with the visual aesthetics that you have going on. Personally, I do feel like the player character is a bit hard to control but that may just be me. I like the combat system and the enemies' ability to explode into flames that can hurt you even after death. It made the game a little bit more difficult, but it's difficulty that I can appreciate. Overall, really great work for this jam!

Friendly Fire by Revetoon 2020-04-29T02:52:38Z

Loved the music track during the game. Overall a neat and fun game with interesting gameplay. I liked the unique items scattered around the map that has different effects. Nice work!

Genki by GOD COLO 2020-04-24T21:45:31Z

Like @noirdrive said, I really like how you focused on the gameplay of the game by providing simple, yet still pleasing, graphics. The movement controls and shooting all felt really fluid, which is important for a shoot-until-you-die game like this one. I can't seem to find a way to quit the game after I die though, so maybe if you had more time, add some more UI to help keep the players immersed in your game. Overall, nice job!

The Last Tree by Team Wala 2020-04-26T02:39:54Z

Really cool graphic you got going here, the art style is very fitting to the music and the environment. The map has plenty to areas to be explored meaning player have much more freedom. I feel like control isn't the most ideal when having to move around with mouse click, and that the game could be optimized a bit further. Other than that, this is a solid entry.

Tankageddon by Sean Sullivan 2020-04-22T04:19:57Z

Since the player have to wander outside for health, ammo, etc, I felt like a minimap would've been helpful since the map is pretty huge. Also, I think having a variety of weapon upgrade could be beneficial to the gameplay. Nevertheless, good job on the game.

The Planetarian by Undead Aubergine 2020-04-28T03:13:49Z

This turns out to be a lot of fun, and the gameplay doesn't get dull fast. Really love the crafting system and gathering resources. Really good presentation throughout, especially at the start of the game. I was glad to be able to solve the last puzzles and beat the game. Absolutely amazing, great work!

Keep That Boy by David Knox 2020-04-22T00:28:55Z

The gameplay, which did take me a minute to figure out how to play, is really nice and chill. Adding some feedback to the UI buttons like a drinking sound effect when pressing the drink button would go a long way for the game's immersion. Overall, really great art, music, and work guys!

Touch it! Do it! by JosephByam 2020-04-26T02:29:32Z

There is a variety in the environment here, so each felt like a challenges on its own. It would be nice to have an extra sound effect or two such as attack sound or indication that the cube has been switch. I got to the four cubes only to get teleported back down, so I'm not really sure if that's the conclusion of the game or not.

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Mudcar Sprint by Tutti Ankka 2020-10-12T21:30:32Z

Cool explosion effect with unique model, although the gameplay seem a bit too repetitive. Perhaps you can have different obstacles included in the future. Nevertheless great work.

The Good, The Bad and The Fluffy by shide 2020-10-12T21:25:05Z

Really neat puzzle game, I like being able to rewind with R. Really engaging gameplay but I couldn't get past level 7. Maybe I'll try again in the future. Great work!

Dank Dungeon by jondalnas 2020-10-19T21:30:58Z

A hardcore dungeon crawler, sweet. I do feel like some sense of progression is needed to flush this game out, but for the time given, it's a fun game. Good stuff!

Loop Lock Malfunction by GuitarBro 2020-10-06T02:31:46Z

Cool sliding movement especially when you're in a wheel, that action just look so cool. One critique though is that the mouse movement is very sensitive so I find that it's easier to not use the mouse at all. Movement is a bit hard to control, or maybe I'm just not very good at doing so. Nevertheless, great game.

Mind the Gap by coderTrevor 2020-10-06T17:22:46Z

Very intriguing puzzle that is neither too hard or easy. Great little game and loving the looping music, very upbeat. One suggestion I will make is perhaps making a bigger distinction between our lines and the npc, like having different font size or color. Beside that, great game!

ronron Therapy by Redunca 2020-10-06T17:08:15Z

Really liking the art style you have going on here, very unique. Although the game was a bit confusing at first in my opinion, but I eventually get the general idea and I think it's pretty good. Great work.

Loop Online Mmo by cax 2020-10-05T23:45:35Z

Really cool game idea for this theme. It's really impressive how you got this all up and working within the time limit for Ludum Dare. Hope to see more multiplayer games like this one in the future because it was definitely interesting to play.

Chaos in the Cabin by Moritz Jaeger 2020-10-12T21:06:08Z

Very short but interesting gameplay. Control is a bit difficult sometime but I think it fits the situation. Good work!

Eternal Punishment by Yuukurisu 2020-10-05T23:49:17Z

The actual gameplay feels good, the character feels fluid to play and being able to stick to walls feels natural rather than buggy which was impressive to see. I would recommend keeping the camera focused on each level rather than the player because having the camera move while I jumped did give me a slight headache after awhile. Overall though, I really liked your game. Good stuff!

NiGHTMXRE by DanyVk 2020-10-06T17:11:30Z

You guys should also check out our game "The Nightmare" since we got a similar title.

Suit Of Armor by Steffy 2020-10-05T23:43:35Z

Ayy, it's nice to see a family come together and work on a game jam together. While the gameplay itself is simple, the visuals and the audio really fit well with the general vibe of the game. Hope you guys keep up yall's journey in game development and good job!

The Nightmare by SaltFactory Studio 2020-10-06T16:59:37Z

@fallingflatstudios Glad you enjoyed it, and yes we did designed it based off maze runner.

@jag We apologized for the initial confusion since we forget to add in the tip section when submitting. If you have time, perhaps you can give it another tries and see if you can find all the notes.

@locopelli1 @jammygunns We really appreciate the in depth feedback you provided, and it is great that you enjoyed it. We agree that movement could be smoothen out. We're happy with the way the monster move around, but there's definitely room for improvement. Nevertheless, we are really happy that you enjoyed this.

@steffy @cax We hope that it gave you a good scare, it certainly did for us when we were testing.

The Nightmare by SaltFactory Studio 2020-10-11T02:51:23Z

@cakii23 Glad you enjoyed it. There's a small twist to the maze, hope you find out.

@szabe We agree that the map could use some more improvement and the game can be tested better. We will surely spend more time testing our game before submission next time. We really appreciate the insights you provided, and we hope you have a good time playing our game.

@codertrevor If you find all the clues it would trigger the endgame sequence, which is sort of the end of the game. We did realized that it's somewhat difficult to get to the endgame sequence but didn't have the time to make the appropriate changes. Nevertheless, thank you for your feedbacks and we're glad you got a few good scare from the game.

@empty-set Thanks for playing our game, and the monster does roam around the maze searching for the player so you have to actively avoid it while searching for the clues. We hope you had fun.

LoopBots by Empty Set 2020-10-05T23:52:21Z

Impressive amount of artwork given the time limit that we had for Ludum Dare. I personally would like the character to be less slidy while moving around the level but I had a good time playing overall. Nice work!

Fearcle by Jupperevie 2020-10-06T17:32:43Z

Great atmosphere, the first time seeing the monster leg gave me a good scare not gonna lie. Beautiful art style, really fitting for the environment. I was a bit confused at switch view side and what it's supposed to mean. All in all, it sure feel like I'm stuck in the loop while waiting to be scare. Amazing work!

Loop Soccer! by CupOfTea 2020-10-05T23:36:42Z

Love me a classic soccer flash game. Although it's simple, the movement of the characters and the ball feels good. Like InstantTrain mentioned, sometimes the ball does get stuck in the corners of the walls. Some more background music for the in-game gameplay would also be nice too. But in general, I liked the game. Good stuff!

Loop Racer by Fistflame 2020-10-05T22:51:49Z

Nice driving mechanics, I like how when I drift, I can visibly see my player character leaning towards the edge of the cart. Great music and visuals as well. Good job man!

Laces and Loops by fc85057 2020-10-05T23:20:46Z

Reminds me of the hobo brawler flash game that I used to love as a kid. Like others have mentioned, it would be nice to spice things up as the players progress through the game somehow (adding new enemy types for instance). But overall, cool game and really creative background story too!

Commuter by Aran Ink 2020-10-05T23:31:38Z

Aesthetics look clean and the music keeps the players really engaged. Game idea is also really creative given the theme. Great job!

13 Codes by JammyGunns 2020-10-06T02:49:26Z

Interesting idea for a maze, I sure did feel like I'm walking around in a loop. Good work!

Fun Colors by AmusingFrog 2020-10-19T21:43:49Z

Like others have mentioned, game is simple yet still pretty fun. I would suggest maybe allowing the players to push the block with more force on the horizontal axis as to give them more clutch moments in scoring a point right before the block hits the floor. Overall though, I liked your game and keep up the good work!

Dungeon Escape by Thorn 2020-10-05T22:46:10Z

I really like the simple flash game-like vibe this game has. Really brings back some nostalgic memories of playing on the school computer back when I was a kid. Animations feel nice and it's cool how you were able to save the player's high score across multiple play sessions. Nice job!

Corporate by Peche et Tradition 1867 2020-10-19T21:38:57Z

Even through the screenshots I could tell how polished the game is, the art truly creates a dreary corporate atmosphere and the UI is clean, comprehensible, and to-the-point. I like how you've implemented your levels with your camera system in mind, finding sleeping employees in these nooks and crannies makes it essential to use all the mechanics in your game. Audio feedback for player actions was on point as well. All in all, an incredible submission for this game jam!

Stuck Until Discovered by newbieDev 2020-10-05T22:33:36Z

The visuals and especially the music really immerses the player and keeps me wanting to play the game more. Like others have mentioned, I do think the jump needs a lot of work considering we are a person running late for work, but aside from that, great work!

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Bad Water by Rudenko 2021-04-30T04:51:34Z

I feel like it's a work in progress since it does get a bit repetitive and doesn't present much gameplay variation. I do like the overall presentation of the game, like the graphic and the audio, those feel very polished. I sure that if you had more time this would've been a great game. Nice work!

Deadlift by slimabob 2021-04-28T23:05:27Z

Amazing atmosphere and mood, really remind me of the game GTFO. Weapons feedback when shooting could be improved for a better experiences, and enemies are sometime difficult to spot. Otherwise, really nice job!

DESERT BUS 2 LETSGOOO! by homeworld 2021-04-29T06:34:55Z

Damn this feel like a Mad Max game, from the environment to gameplay. Great work on the art and environment. I do feel the distance is a bit long and that the smaller enemies can be hard to hit. Control on the car feel very polished and overall a great entry. Terrific work!

Fathom Commander by Adam Martin 2021-04-29T05:57:06Z

I love these type of game that require different approaches and sort of multitasking. And I suck at it. Nevertheless, it is a fun game so job well done guys!

Tripus's Very Deep Adventure by Kornel 2021-04-28T05:39:59Z

Very solid game, really engaging to play and control takes some time to master. Music and art fit together really well, great job guys!

Deep Space Worm by TorchFire 2021-04-28T06:04:27Z

Control can be a bit of a challenge to get during first few tries, but I love the creativity you had for this game. Great work!

Deep Dreams by Diebanez 2021-04-28T05:33:16Z

Really loving the illustration y'all did, well done. Game is very engaging and gets progressively harder, and the last level gave me quite a challenge. Great job!

Dipper and Dipper by JM Studio 2021-04-29T06:21:37Z

Surprisingly fun game to play, I had a great time playing it. Cool loading screen too! Great job y'all!

Psychedelic by SaltFactory Studio 2021-04-29T05:35:29Z

@danceswe @tengusheath @michaelyount Thank you guys, we're glad y'all like it.

@ndhr-productions @ruddgasm @humphreysmedia @6smith We noticed that the movement can be a bit too slow for the speed the player is falling, and we wish we had the time to refine it better. The collision was also a bit off due to how fast the player is falling downward, but we're glad it didn't ruin the whole experiences. Thanks for playing!

Psychedelic by SaltFactory Studio 2021-05-18T18:45:28Z

@steinuil @mololo @kripakov @joe40001 Thank you for your feedbacks. Looking back we probably should have spent some more time polishing player movement. Nevertheless, we hope it didn't ruin the experience of the game. Glad y'all enjoy it.

@advay @aaronacus @hexa3 @bbaf Thank you, we really love the way the game look, and didn't expect it to look this cool when we were brainstorming ideas.

Deeply Organic by DoctorTM 2021-04-28T05:46:24Z

Despite being pretty short, it was fun playing the different mini-game in this game. All the game is pretty creative and I find the lung part to be the most fun. Nicely done!

A Musical Interlude by Kohonens 2021-04-29T06:08:51Z

It's a cool idea and very unique, since it allow the player the freedom to compose whatever they like. I've yet to create anything good from it, but I'm sure others will be able to. Solid work!

The Tourist by Frostfall 2021-04-28T05:54:07Z

Interesting story/walking game with a twist near the end which I loved. Performance can be a bit choppy at time but other than that, great job!

Deeper Sleeper by Michael Harris 2021-04-28T05:16:53Z

Really like the concept you guys got for this game. Not quite what we're expecting but it was still fun to play. The audio and music overall was great and really fit the mood. Nicely done!

Dangerous Depths by Mololo 2021-04-30T05:08:42Z

Solid game, simple but engaging. My only comment is that the mystery box are difficult to predict, and when player see them it's almost too late to reach them in time, like @buckmeister mentioned. Otherwise, good job!

Rolling In The Deep by KAPA6UH 2021-04-30T04:56:20Z

Overall a solid game, my only critique is that the control feel a bit awkward. Other than that, loving the style and atmosphere!

Plague by Advay 2021-04-29T06:02:23Z

Overall a solid game, pretty simple and short. I love the explosion effect after you shoot. I did have a problem advancing to higher level though since the game cut off and said "Thank you for playing" as I was about to shoot the blue virus, not sure if that's the intention. Anyway, great job y'all!

Do not Disturb! by ossuboi 2021-04-28T05:23:07Z

I think that overall game performance does impact my experience while playing the game and I wish it was better. I do like the idea of the game and looking forward to beating it.

Little Boy Commits WarCrimes Against Nature by Yahay 2021-04-29T05:42:13Z

Nice and simple pixel art, really loving the style. The bomb can be hard to predict at time when activated since it's moving so fast, but other than that this is a solid game!
