"What Genre I will choose to make a game in this jam? -Yes". A short a nice story with so many genres of games in it. I was catch with the guy in blue with a sword.

(I notice a mistake in the first minigame, in the subtitle was "move with W and D" but the correct is "A or D".

simul 2021-04-27 15:31

Very interesting game! I did spot in the first game a couple graphics bugs, and the part in the lungs went on for a bit too long, but it was good!

caiojmini 2021-04-27 15:42

very creative, really enjoyed the humor!

2rek 2021-04-27 15:47

Very good game. Short but interesting to play. There is funny storyline and different missions that make this game quite fun to play. I especially like the animations quality and overall polish.

abigailcorfman 2021-04-27 15:50

That was so inventive! And I had fun in all the sections. I think my favorite was the jumping (in the lungs I think?). The dynamic nature of the platforms--that they were always moving and spun when you hit them--was interesting to manage.

The combat part was a difficulty spike. I'm glad the character agreed with me--that dialog line was vindicating.

And the dialog was very funny. Loved the opening.

smelly-games 2021-04-27 15:57

Gross. Nice.

zivfo 2021-04-27 16:01

A surprisingly quite completed game flow. the narritive was presented pretty immersive. and the animation looks great.

Chopping capsules were challenging btw :) i almost didn't make it.

Overall really had fun in the short experience

barisc 2021-04-27 16:12

Unexpected ideas and lots of mini games. I like them

gates 2021-04-28 00:53

I've played around 15 jam games to this point and this was definitely my favorite! The sfx were really good, I liked the different minigames, and the game was just so creative! Good work!

nephronhunter 2021-04-28 01:02

This was really fun. Great idea, design, and execution.

paetramon 2021-04-28 01:04

Very cool concept, and pretty good execution! I had some trouble with being able to hit enemies with the sword, I think once they were on top of me the sword's collision didn't intersect with the enemies anymore. But very cool game, I really enjoyed it!

woahitsjeff 2021-04-28 02:42

This was a very interesting take on the theme. I loved every minute of it. Thank you for sharing!

studio-gomp 2021-04-28 02:52

This was really fun! I do think the lungs section went on too long, but everything was cool!

saltfactory-studio 2021-04-28 05:46

Despite being pretty short, it was fun playing the different mini-game in this game. All the game is pretty creative and I find the lung part to be the most fun. Nicely done!

prerak 2021-04-28 05:53

Innovative game Not gonna lie your game gave me dani vibes haha Great work with the art design and concept , merging game mechanics was perfect Overall had a great experience playing it Beep beep boop boop

notpjriavs 2021-04-28 05:58

Impressive that you delivered on multiple game types. Definitely would've preferred one really good one, but I like that there was some overarching narrative and that each mode was fun-- but definitely didn't overstay its welcome on either of them. The first jam game this year that I've played all the way through! Very impressive. Do think it could've stuck to the theme a bit tighter, though.

janet-lin 2021-04-28 06:03

Hahaha I thoroughly enjoyed being Doctor Antman :D Very impressive!

mehul 2021-04-28 06:05

Loved the genre changes was fun.

ryanwoods 2021-04-28 06:06

This was really good! It had a really silly tone that I appreciated (the entering and exiting cutscenes were so funny to me!). I liked the pill level the most, although I agree that the theme got kind of lost.

keppersnapper 2021-04-28 06:52

The game felt really awesome and I was terrible impressed with how many features and gameplay you guys squeezed in such a short time! You had the sliding experience, the vertical platforming, the combat, and the cutting! It was really amazing so kudos to you!

kenforest 2021-04-28 13:50

Relly fun game, you include a many mini games in one, its a cool idea. Very fun scene when you go in and out. Good job!

usenrame 2021-04-28 14:08

Enjoyed it! Sounds, setting and everything made me enjoy that game

justcamh 2021-04-28 16:24

Hey matey, thanks for submitting your game to the stream! I hope my feedback is helpful, I really enjoyed the game! Here's the twitch vod if you wanna rewatch:

m11 2021-04-28 16:48

Super creative!

kingslee142 2021-04-28 16:53

I like the game play. I like the art and the jump animation feels quite satisfying however the jump iteself could be a little quicker just to give a little more lightnes to the character feel. Also maybe some background music could add to this game even more. But overall very creative idea. Well done!

fist-full-of-shrimp 2021-04-28 16:56

Holy crap that was good. To knock all that out in such a short amount of time. Love the transitions and all the different mini-games. Congrats!

superkoekje 2021-04-28 16:56

really enjoyed the game but I would the controlls to be a bit smoother. Also in the game the last box says press space to continue while you have to press the arrows.

hatten 2021-04-28 16:57

Impressive that you managed to make so many different mini-games in that short time. Great game!

nicholassoen 2021-04-28 17:01

What an amazing game! Wasnt expecting this! Great work of different game mecanics :)

superkoekje 2021-04-28 17:02

oh there are more minigames

chunkish-campino 2021-04-28 17:08

Ending is funny :D Didn't really expect that! Nice job man!

spaint 2021-04-28 17:32

Fun concept, and story, lots of bugs tho. Somehow clipped below the level in jumping level, had to restart the game. Some attacks while fighting were going right through the enemies. And then they killed me, but somehow i won anyways, enemy HP wasn't even zero, dialog just started and let me through to another level.

recursor 2021-04-28 18:42

A very humorous and "deeply personal" adventure. I liked the varied gameplay as it kept me interested until the end. Nice job.

erik-brendel 2021-04-28 20:01

very fun mixture of games :) You did well on the theme as well :)

Some small things: - the enemies in the 3d fight scene didnt collide with each other. It was very easy to run around in circles, let them all converge into a single point, and then slash them all with a single sword blow. They should either leave more distance to each other, speed up over time, or have different behaviour. Also, there was some UI bug: https://postimg.cc/2LBW0W9v - after that, i continued playing in non-fullscreen, and everything was fine again

kibitz 2021-04-28 23:10

Great game overall, I enjoyed the mish mash of genres. The audio was pretty good and synced up with everything that was happening on screen. I also really enjoyed the theme of the game. Going deeper and deeper into a patient is a funny take.

The section in the lungs was a little annoying to control because the character jumped so high that I felt like I was often overshooting the platforms I was aiming for. I feel like you were going for a doodle jump style section, so maybe if you made it so the player could go through the platforms from the bottom, it would feel easier to control. Also, the combat section was fun, but the player attacks felt really slow to come out. That would be fine on its own, but I noticed the swing sometimes misses enemies when they're right next to you, which can be frustrating because they can reach you before the swing comes out.

Overall, I really enjoyed the theme of this game. Good job!

kenneth-wheadon 2021-04-28 23:17

This is one of my favorite games so far. The theme was awesome, the graphics were fun, the minigames were spot on! It was just a blast all around!

I think the jumping game could be it's own hype-casual game, having the blood cells spin was fun, plus I found out you can stick to the walls, which was a blast :P

jwfield 2021-04-28 23:29

Had a lot of fun playing this, short and sweet game. The low poly graphics style mixed with the realistic and smooth animation was a nice touch :D Really interesting idea, that was executed well :)

initialposition 2021-04-28 23:35

The animations were very nice. The artstyle is absolutely fitting the theme of the game. The sounds were definitely suitable as well. It's pretty cool that you managed to implement this many different gameplay mechanics in this amount of time.

frompdx 2021-04-29 00:19

This is pretty great! Nice work. The cells in the jumping section is a really neat take on a platformer and the jump physics feel very satisfying.

felo07 2021-04-29 04:04

very nice game, I loved the Dark Souls reference with the sword, I was very happy killing that tampons (I know thats wasnt that, but yeah)

pythooonuser 2021-04-29 05:02

Original idea! The sword was a surprise :) Nice to see that it has a proper ending! - Beep Boop Boop

2021-04-29 06:08

Excellent Work Man, Well Designed

starrynitegames 2021-04-29 06:42

That was a roller coaster. I really enjoyed the twist and turns in mechanics. That went places I did not expect. Excellent work!

Following the doctor's office scene, the dialogue boxes at the start of each scene would cover up the entire screen such that I could not tell what was happening until the dialogue finished. Figured it might be a bug, and wanted to report it.

Thank you kindly for this gem!

miej 2021-04-29 06:55

clever way to hit on the theme in more than one way! man that guy needs to get his lungs checked out

hoeleboele 2021-04-29 07:02

Very cool short story. Looks very pollished and feels very pollished. I liked the jumping around in the lungs the most

iluvatar 2021-04-29 07:02

Hands down my most favorite game so far! Guys, you made this game so much fun. There were 4 different genres in one game. My most favorite parts were the lungs, I just enjoyed jumping like a superhero! And of course the Dark Souls-like fight against alcoholic liver enemies was amazing (LOVED THAT SWORD!).

To give you some comprehensive feedback, I would like to see something a little bit more challenging at the end. The tumor removal was very easy. Maybe it would be cool to cut the tumor with mouse, and fight of enemies with keyboard at the same time? But other than that I really had a blast.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS: Did I understand correctly that the guy died at the end?

cpv 2021-04-29 08:25

Well, that is an interesting take on the theme :D

So many levels with different mechanics, and some fun here and there. Great audio as well.

Found a couple of bugs, when at the lungs level I managed to fall below the "ground" and kept falling, and at the liver level, at first I died since the fighting controls seemed a bit hard, but on a second run I managed somehow to skip the level (pressed space too much I guess) and got straight to the stomach :)

Overall, a great submission, very unique I might say.

Update: It seems you used music/sound not made by you during the jam, so probably you should opt-out from the audio category. But I'm not here to judge :)

gamesbysaul 2021-04-29 09:08

Ha! That's a great take on theme nice work!

I will say that the liver level probably should have had the enemies spawning more frequently and moving faster to make them more challenging. The jumping level was great! I loved using the falling debris as a platform. Nice work :)

xeke-death 2021-04-29 11:10

The genre swapping was fun, lots of games in one.

The Lungs level needs a few more capsules falling to jump on. Having nothing at all to land on when I jump just felt like wasting time.

Overall fun game.

etrealjunior 2021-04-29 21:08

Congratulations on the game, it reminded me of the 1966 film "Fantastic Voyage", the text box was too big for the small font, I thought it was done well, there are some bugs, but the story really went well, the game became self-explanatory it is very good, I see this game enlarged and consequently more polished, to be used as educational support material in several schools, and a suggestion that I believe would earn you a lot of points in your game add a touch of humor to the end suggesting that the character entered through the mouth and left underneath, a big hug to everyone, and I await your evaluations regarding my game.

sirred 2021-04-30 02:16

Great idea. I loved how each section of the body had its own little minigame. Each one of these could have been its own game for a jam timeline so that is quite impressive. Well done.

herryfabien 2021-04-30 02:21

Pretty funny combination of base shape (alcool and what i think is red cell in the lungs) and nicely animated doctor .The mechanics where super simple and old as the world i even think i know how you did some things; i'm talking to you the capsule collider with a rigidbody with pretty high mass to fall slowly while providing dynamic platform (quite a nice find there) or you the switch a lane that existed when my grand parent were young ^^. But using that simplicity and trustworthiness to make a lot of mini game is quite ingenious i must admit. There is a few game were i don't have any real advice because it's so nicely complete.

youhou 2021-04-30 19:01

It was too easy for you to make one game so you decided to make three :D Controls are good, art and music are simple. You managed to do a fun game and I liked it. Nice work :)

0x89a 2021-04-30 23:44

I liked that each section was a different minigame, kept it interesting. Awesome game!

simpathey 2021-05-01 03:34

I liked that each section was a different gameplay yet none of it was confusing to me the player! Great job!

cem-adiloglu 2021-05-01 10:48

that was a really great approach for the theme! good job :)

tanner-shelton 2021-05-02 05:38

I really liked the different gameplay mechanics and the four layers. It was a lot of fun to have fun gameplay breaks. I was having a hard time defeating the bad things with the sword. Half of my swings wouldn't hurt them. But I still enjoyed it overall.

link270 2021-05-02 05:38

Love it! Very nice job on everything. I was happy to see all the different genres showing up throughout, and the humor was absolutely on point.

andrewkennedy 2021-05-02 15:39

Having a series of different mini-games is something I don't think I've seen much, if at all, in a LD before. Quite ambitious!

I really enjoyed how cohesive the experience was. Every step of the way, it felt like you were playing as the same character facing different challenges.

I did run into a bug with the hitboxes in the liver stage. I think being too close to the enemies was causing the sword to miss. I survived with just 1 tick of health left!

Great work!

marcmagus 2021-05-02 17:31

Thanks for bringing your game by my stream for playtesting! If you’d like to revisit the play and commentary you can view the highlight at https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1008724128

nikolay-zapolnov 2021-05-02 20:23

Hey! Thanks for sending us this game to play on stream!

Its a nice short game with different mechanics. It was surprising and nice to find out that each part of the body has its own game play. Also I like the setting which reminded me of the old "Inner Space" movie :)

As a small addition, it would be great to have some particle effect or animation when you kill the enemies.

Here is a timed link for the stream: https://youtu.be/vC17EaL3CcI?t=7855

nounka 2021-05-02 21:29

GG for this game, there are so many different gameplay ! The battle part was quite weird, when ennemis were on me I could not hit it, and sometime I was hitting it with my sword but there didn't take any damage =/. But that's all, Gg for this nice and fun little game

evgeniya-zapolnova 2021-05-02 21:38

Cool idea, nice games :) And lungs are the best :)

philliptrudeau 2021-05-04 02:21

Really cool to see an LD game with cutscenes and variation  the game kept it snappy by moving on from each gameplay mode before it got boring (which sadly was not very long...) so, great work and impressive for a 2 person project!

james-macgill 2021-05-04 02:54

Why build one game in a jam when you can make them all! Sound effects, especially early on, set the mood well. Combat felt a little heavy and sluggish. Nice to be able to play to the end. Bonus point for humour.

fabula-rasa 2021-05-04 18:00

The operation was a success!

It's a very nice concept and cool approach to the theme. You managed to make a lot of different mechanics in a jam game! Very impressive. Soundscape is nice and low-poly graphics are clean and do their job well.

Fighting could be improved. The attack felt too slow and recovery from it was definitely longer than the animation would suggest. That made the Doc feel clunky and ungainly. Also, enemies seemed to be taking damage whether I was swinging at them or they were behind me when I was swinging. I guess my awesome sword is just that awesome

bluishgreenpro 2021-05-04 21:36

Thanks for submitting this game to my stream! I think it's admirable that you tried to incorporate so many genres under a limited time.

okamit 2021-05-05 12:54

Cool and creative game, good job!

retrome 2021-05-06 10:12

Interesting concept! Nice graphics and sound effects. Funny dialogs!

Some remarks: 1. UI in intro is small on 4K display and UI panel on level is big but text is small. Expectation: UI scales relative to resolution. 2. On the first level A.I Nurse asks to press space but you need to move left/right to continue. Expectation: hint to press space is hidden. 3. Last dialog on the first level appears while there is obstacle in front of you and game gets stuck when you collide it. Expectation: the last dialog appears after all the obstacles. 4. On second walkthrough game got stuck on the third level: enemies stopped appearing after switching tabs in browser. Also character started sliding to the left. Expectation: the game pauses on losing focus.

Hope this will be helpful.

Good job!

joror 2021-05-06 18:29

Hah nicely written series! Each minigame is neat and the story ties it all together! Some particle effects would have spiced things up a bit graphically, and I did feel the challenge level was a bit low. But then again - can't complain about a successful surgery! :hospital:

jose-bonilla 2021-05-06 22:43

Amazing game, very creative, super humorous. Actual game mechanics need more polish (e.g. jumps are floaty, collisions etc.) but great job.

medocapra 2021-05-07 17:23

Very nice game! The graphics are really polished (maybe not the menu that appears after you die, I think that can be improved), the sound effects are really ambient and fitting and the game is very fun, but gets repetitive and kind of boring.

fractal-flower-girl 2021-05-08 13:13

Very interesting idea! I enjoyed it, but in the lungs I fell all the way to the bottom, which was a little annoying. Once I got the hang of it I got to the top okay. I also once fell through the bottom of the lungs and had to restart. Anyway I enjoyed it a lot!

leyamez 2021-05-08 21:36

Really fun game! Played it on stream at https://www.twitch.tv/leyamez

Movement felt a bit clunky, and the background felt unpolished, but still a fun one to play.

Great work, and thanks for bringing it by the stream! :v:

omiya-games 2021-05-11 00:50

I'm quite impressed with the large array of gameplay and graphical elements in the game. There's a surprising amount of content in such a short amount of time! The number of graphics and animations implemented were pretty impressive as well.

But I also found each component in the game to be...unpolished. It was easy to hit a (fortunately non-game-breaking) bug in nearly every minigame:

* Throat - you can die after the "here we go" prompt shows up. * Pill waterfall - it's possible to cling on the wall. No side-by-side walking animation. * Liver - As noted in the description, die once, skip the level.

Stomach was probably the only one I couldn't find a significant flaw in. Although I'm not sure it was intentional that you can cut into another tumor without finishing the first one.

When it comes to polish, I'm usually seeking for stuff like how responsive the controls are, whether [juice is properly applied](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Game_feel) or not, are the sound effects for the same action varied, etc. I think from that sense, the Pill and especially the Liver section of the game had me wanting the most. I'm sure the sword swinging animation on Liver is intentionally slow, but it rarely felt like it had impact colliding into...whatever was infecting the liver.

Still, given what's in the game based on the limited time your team had, I have to admit there's a lot more to this game than I first suspected. Good job.

ETA: replaced the Juice it or Lose it Youtube vid link to Wikipedia article on Game Feel, as this site apparently unrolls Youtube links into embeds.

asdehielo 2021-05-11 23:42

Cool game, funny story, nice art. It's amazing that you managed to fit 4 different genres in a jam. However, I believe it's better to focus on 1 mechanic and try to explore and polish it as much as possible.

Some suggestions: - In the first level, it would be nice if instead of teleporting the movement was continuous (also the guy seemed to be falling backwards). - In the second level, the guy seemed to be looking away from the camera, which was a bit weird. The collisions seemed a bit off too. - In the third level, having the enemies disappear when you hit them doesn't feel that good. Some particle effects could be good enough.

All in all, it's a great game for a first game jam. Keep working, I see a bright future ahead!

digital-bacon 2021-05-12 11:53

Nice game. Really liked the graphics and music; sound fx were a bit annoying after a while. Also on level 1, I kept moving left or right too soon, and colliding with obstacles I thought I'd already dodged; not sure if this was a deliberate design choice.

A fun little game. Good work!

coleslaughter 2021-05-12 21:08

[Thanks for submitting your game to the stream!](https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1015845981?t=02h34m11s)

This one was downright hilarious! It's pretty crazy how much y'all were able to crank out in a weekend with this one. Also, I found the movie I was talking about, see I'm not crazy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dO5E4wkg0hA

But yes, well done here!

chrisap 2021-05-12 21:51

A magic school bus adventure to save this mans stomach! I love the different paradigm shifts through the game and each level progresses! I'm also a big fan of the low poly style! Honestly the only way to make this better is simply to add more levels and paradigm shifts, and also maybe a song that represents the theme of going deeper and deeper. Congrats! <3

pat-cleaver 2021-05-13 12:26

That's a really impressive amount of work for a jam game. So many different mini games! It's also nice to see a different take on the theme. Congrats!

oadt 2021-05-13 12:48

Cool collection of mini games! I think my favorit is the lung game. Also funny story telling and you did a great job at explaining the mechanics of the different games. Nice Work!

zubspace 2021-05-15 23:01

Hey this was quite a ride! I enjoyed the creative story and the mini games. You really deserve praise for adding completely different tasks. No way to feel bored. The cinematics are well made and you can be really proud of the 3D environment! Thanks for the game(s)!

mikouaji 2021-05-16 20:27

Wow, so many things done and done so well :D Very fun game

cjgladback 2021-05-18 02:49

Thank you for letting me play this on stream (forever ago)! [Here's that clip](https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1007876502?t=2h54m04s) in case you want to rewatch the start/hear my feedback on the area I was stuck in. What I saw I enjoyed, so I wish I were better at platforming/had some ability to phase through colliders at will to see more myself, though I'm about to enjoy watching some others' playthroughs posted here.
