LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Infiltr8 by joe40001 2021-05-12T22:14:27Z

Very creative thinking with the level within a level ideas, its the essence of the game and I think it was pretty well executed, I almost got trapped while playing through the final level but it was fun to figure out the puzzle to escape. It gives me a lot of Tron, hack into the matrix vibes. Congrats ! <3

Well Down by CamCam 2021-05-17T23:53:45Z

Theres is a little issue with the collision but otherwise I really enjoyed this game! I liked the platforming and dash mechanics and the animations was actually pretty good. As a color blind person, I don't love the invisible spikes LOL but after a bit it was fine. I want to try out this game with some more polished collisions for sure! Congrats

Space Trench Miner by notime4games 2021-05-16T21:22:48Z

The art is great, a little animation would make a lot out of it. The cost of the upgrades I believe might be a little high making it seem a little grindy. In regards to the theme, there is digging going on but there is not really a clear incentive (positive or negative) that connects to the "deeper and deeper" idea. It has a game loop going on that you could explore a bit deeper, congrats on finishing a game in under 48 hrs by yourself! <3

Adelie - Rolling in the Deep by Meep 2021-05-12T23:52:49Z

Super cute game! I love ADELIE ROLLING IN THE DEEP, the penguin is so cute and the mechanics have a really creative feel to it. The procedural generation is really impressive and fun to explore every run based on the upgrades you get. I hope I can reach the depths of Marinana trench next time around! Congrats on making something so cute <3

Deep Root by blackoptics8 2021-05-17T00:29:43Z

This is such a solid little game! I really like the simple aesthetics used for the water and roots. The gameplay is simple yet there is some mystery around the mechanics for mastery, sort of the way tetris works. I found myself playing a couple times without even noticing I had been at it for quite some time! Congrats! This is truly impressive game design wise and should be rated more!! <3 <3

Unearther by udo 2021-05-15T21:22:24Z

Wow this is very impressive using only the Three.js library! I made a doom clone with it once and it took me so long to make and I dread it ever since. The puzzles are fun and mind boggling, the coolest part for me was seeing the number of steps others used to solve the puzzle and challenge myself to find a more optimal solution. I was initially a little confused as to how the ghost ray worked but I figured it out and managed to beat all the levels with either the least or second least number of steps! Congrats! <3

Holey Hell by managore 2021-05-12T21:14:35Z

I'm impressed by the circular stage with wobbly floor, I have no idea how it was created but its very cool. The game is simple and easy to play in an arcade style but I wish there was some more depth to the mechanics of collecting the keys, maybe introduce puzzles like false keyes or something of the sort. The graphics are simple yet effective, amazing work for a game jam! Congrats! <3

Ludophile by Jack Lance 2021-05-02T00:52:40Z

This game was mind bending! I took so long to figure out what I was supposed to do! I don't want to spoil stuff for anyone but the game is in the file. I had a blast trying to solve the final puzzle and I had some help from my chat but we eventually solved it. Congrats on making something so unique and different! <3 what and insane experience

Nuclear blaze by deepnight 2021-05-01T23:05:08Z

This game is very interesting and fun to play! I love the water animations and the fire particle effects. You did a fantastic job for such a short time! Congrats on the awesome game. I had a bit of a difficult time jumping vs shooting water up since they were both the same button, maybe it would be more convenient to use a different button or some other solution. Otherwise fantastic game <3

Boombox by auxC 2021-04-29T23:00:05Z

I love the deeper and deeper theme put to some creative angle. Going deeper and deeper into the boxes was engaging and I was very pleasantly surprised by the different mechanics the difficulties offered. I love the way the box turns around, I can keep track of the keyholes by being organized with my movement. FUN GAME <3

depthscraper by lexi 2021-05-12T22:38:57Z

Really cute aesthetic puzzle game! I feel like this would work wonderfully in a mobile game. Congrats on making something so simple yet compelling. <3

Deepest Sword by Strega 2021-04-28T23:54:12Z

This game was fantastic to play, gave me plenty of Getting Over It vibes. The pole-vaulting/sword leverage mechanics are very interesting and new. I love the multiple puzzle design with the same levels but you have different solutions based on the length of your sword. The art in this game is amazing and that little kitty is so cute, I love the animation on the knight when they are struggling. That dragon was a lil sus from getting stabbed over and over again. <3 <3

Hadal Depth by RAC-Games 2021-05-13T01:05:14Z

The combo system is very cool I really like the use of generators to make energy and they using the drawing of cards to combo out a big enemy on a single turn. Something I did not love was the crab, losing 50% of my damage didn't feel super fun, the 30% dmg reduction wasn't that bad, I could brush off the loss, however, losing half was just Sadge. Otherwise really cool game! Congrats! <3 I kinda wish there was a deck building mechanic, maybe as an update or for hadal depth 2?

Fly Brie To The Moon by candlesan 2021-05-15T22:26:15Z

I like the idea of implementing a leader board, sadly it did not update my score when I did better the second time. I like the wario ware style mini games to get cheese, and I think the use of resource to obtain more of that same resource is a cool mechanic to encourage the player to risk more to obtain even more. It's missing a bit of music but overall fantastic job! <3

Bucket Head by LethalTurtle 2021-05-16T00:08:09Z

The character reminds me of a certain well known indie bug, but it looks really cute. The aesthetics in general look great. There is some cool aspects about the dash storing a material that you can use later, there is some cool level design ideas you can wrap your head around to develop some cool interactions. An eerie song would fit this game pretty well, also the waterfall sound might be a little harsh on the ears. <3

Fallumns by Logan 2021-05-19T23:35:12Z

At first I was like ??? but that I was like OOOHHHH COOOOL

Dome Romantik by Rongo Matane 2021-05-12T02:41:20Z

The game idea is really full fledged out and effective for a game jam especially, I enjoyed coming back up to defend my base from getting attacked, one of my earliest upgrades was the argon cannon which let me relax a bit for the rest of the game in terms of getting attacked (as long as I made in time). I love the picking up objects mechanic that slows you down, it reminds me a lot of the idea of doing a single trip from your car back home when grocery shopping. <3 Fantastic work for such a short time. Congrats

Disco Delve by adam-gould 2021-05-16T21:40:55Z

I really like the music and how its tied to the gameplay mechanics, a little indicator for when the triple damage is possible would be helpful, when giving the player power you usually want to give them various angles to approach that objective so having a visual + audio feedback to that would make the mechanic feel a lot more polished. Other than that I really "dig" the combination of both 3d and 2d aesthetics. Congrats on making an interesting mechanics in such a short amount of time by yourself! <3

Eldritch Depths by simex 2021-04-28T00:58:51Z

This game is amazing! I love the the mechanic with the little pixels floating at you to recover mana. I destroyed the last boss by doing a dmg build and I was full immersed in the game. The lighting and pixel animation is stellar and the sounds effects really make it feel retro cool. The charging up for the bullets makes it really easy to know where its going to shoot towards, and I feel in control over most other games like this. Also the bullet collision made it super satisfying to snipe an enemy bullet from the path its on. I never really used the dash or the shield but I do see other player being more comfortable with that style of gameplay. Really good job <3

AeroCat by W0oly 2021-05-15T00:28:32Z

Very interesting player controller, the cute cat does not choose the direction you move in but the rotation, that can affect movement in various ways. The art is absolutely gorgeous, I want to hug that cute little cat! I hate the sound when it dies :( its so brutal :( . Really cute idea with an innovative controller good job! <3

Graverobber by Daniel Alhadeff 2021-04-28T01:13:32Z

The double mechanic was really creative and interesting, using the shovel to attack and also dig. On certain point you could do both and hitting the enemy would reset the cooldown for the attack putting you in a sort of combo situation. When the character digs and it moves the sprite sometimes the collision is not detected and you can clip out of bounds by attacking the walls, using a different type of translation such as adding velocity instead of translating the sprite might solve the issue and not teleport inside the colliders. Fun time digging through some skelly mens. <3

Saving Greg by LJFMX 2021-05-15T21:54:59Z

NOOO GREEG! I really enjoyed the voice lines and humor in this game, the graphics were simple but charming and theres something really cool about the cardboard cut outs. It sort of reminded me of the feeling I got from Stanley Parable. Congrats on making such a humorous game! <3 I look forward to the next adventure with greg and the hilarious narrator.

The Void by AMastryukov 2021-04-29T01:03:35Z

Excellent game! I really DIG the aesthetic and the voice acting was stellar 5/5 for Audio because of that. I had a bit of trouble with the colors... being colorblind and all, but other wise amazing game! Really scary bits through out the whole game, spooky stuff. Congrats on the game jam! Noticed some of the characters mentioned were the devs themselves and that was pretty funny! Having a couple sections where you go back to valve and stuff would be great for padding some gameplay but it's hard to pull of during a game jam.

Drilbert by wheybags 2021-04-28T01:40:48Z

The little drill is so cute! I love the aesthetic of the game and the puzzles are really engaging. Using oxygen as a resourse and having dirt on inventory management is really creative when combined. The puzzles were reaaaally tough, I got stuck on the fifth level after I get some rest I'm gonna go back and try to beat it. Good job! <3 love the little dril bert

Fever Dream by RAFFE 2021-04-27T19:13:25Z

"Welcome to fever dream!" The audio and visuals are amazing, I tried to get that sweet virtual handshake by Raffe but I am a noob Sadge. It's actually really fun to play, the controls are simple and make you feel fast and cool. The theme was not super obvious but I can see how you came up with the idea coming from "Deeper and Deeper". Defo a fever dream and Ill try to get that sub 3:30 later. Congrats! <3

Hellscape by ToxicComputer 2021-05-17T22:40:48Z

I really like the idea of a "bullet hell" that is so fast paces it creates insanity, however it would benefit the player having a bit more area to move around and dodge the insane number of bullets. I liked the idea you had with using two different paradigms with the side view and top view but some more gameplay in the side view would take better advantage of it! Overall congrats on making a game by yourself!

It's about to go down by Marcus Otterstrom 2021-05-17T01:53:08Z

It's a cool and interesting idea of a game! I like the concept I think it has a lot of potential to grow into a proper game where you have plenty of upgrades and different power ups. The aesthetic is really pleasing but its lacking an awesome sound track to make it pop out, maybe the deeper you go, the more it sounds like trap music or something hype. I'm sorry you didn't get to develop all you wanted but thats sometimes how game jams go, but congrats on the game you managed to pull off anyways! I hope you get ro 20 reviews so you get a score since I think this game deserves it for sure!

Moot by Peco 2021-05-14T00:45:03Z

The art was cool thought kinda scary, the music is great. I thought the puzzle mechanics were interesting but before I got to challenge my capabilities through its puzzle language it was already over. Interesting puzzles though!

Ski Trip by Rhoka 2021-04-28T20:47:09Z

The audio visual experience was definitely something new. I was vibing the whole way through. The controls were simple and it felt relaxing to cruise along a trippy road. I kinda wish I could crouch while moving from side to side but you have to stop moving sideways before you can hold crouch. Great game <3

Magic Frontier by Firebelley 2021-04-28T02:02:05Z

Music is a catJAM, loved the art style and the clever puzzles really stand out as unique and refreshing. Very interesting mechanic using building placement as a resource, I can already imagine all the varieties of building you could make for this game. Super entertaining and mind bending, loved every second of it, wish I could play more levels. <3

Burilka Pump by abvadabra 2021-04-27T21:16:08Z

I have to say I was hooked with the deckbuilding and table top aspect of the game. I had a pretty good run and noticed the hand didn't let you draw 3 oil rigs which was a relief. The assets are beautiful and the music is great for the mood of the game. Overall very interesting deckbuilding mechanics, with some polish I would legit buy this game.

Below the Ocean by Ismael Rodriguez 2021-05-12T23:01:17Z

This was incredible! I love the tether mechanics I want to ask you how it was maaade it was super cool! Everything about this game is super compelling and fun! Congrats on such a fantastic game! <3

PENGUI by Wassim 2021-05-17T03:46:25Z

The penguin is really cute, I dig the low poly aesthetic, however a little waddle animation would go a long way for this little penguin. It felt sort of like a waiting game more than an actual game, something you could do to solve this would be some sort of new floating icebergs that appear and start to slowly sink creating an interesting choice for the player to make deciding which iceberg it will go to next using their health as a resource. :penguin:

Bunny Bunny Dig Dig by ZakAmana 2021-04-29T00:26:48Z

The bunny is so cute, the graphics are amazing, the progression system is really well made (getting that pickaxe upgrade really makes a huge difference). I really enjoyed this game, this might be the best compo game ive played so far! Congrats <3

Jaws of Earth by IceEye 2021-05-16T00:41:15Z

The height shader was pretty interesting and the theme of the jam is surely prevalent though out the game. Some of the animations are broken but its not a huge deal. I kinda wish the font would be different so that there was more of a lie in to the freaky mood it was going for. There's a lot of reading where it would be cool to have some sort of mechanic where I have to find the correct order or some sort of reference to whats happening in the journal within the game. It was kind of freaky that the game just closes out on you with the end. It would be interesting to have some reference or inspiration from HP Lovecraft work since you are going for the whole Cosmic Horror idea in your game.

Pheromones by Shakedimus 2021-05-16T22:08:44Z

Overall, very interesting mechanic, I think exploring these types of games are the main purpose of gamejams as they allow us to quickly test ideas that might seem a little crazy. Even though it could use some music and the graphics could be more in tune to the nature of the game, the idea behind using different characters to help the "main" character (the queen) to move and get to the end of the level is something worth exploring more and makes this game truly unique and impressive for a single person to have made this. Congrats on finding an interesting mechanic while doing a game jam, in my eyes I think thats a win no matter what! <3

Implosion by Caveman54 2021-04-27T23:27:10Z

Very fun puzzle game! I really enjoyed the different layered music you used. I'm a sucker for puzzle games and this was definitely entertaining! I could see this being a full fledged game if there was some way to queue moves as sometimes it was a little frustrating to keep clicking once I felt like I had already solved the puzzle, however, for a game jam, fantastic job! <3

How to Swim! by backurio 2021-05-13T01:49:01Z

HOW!?! @chris1919

How to Swim! by backurio 2021-05-13T01:49:42Z

I got to 70M and flipped around and it got crazy.

Deep Dungeon Tactics by Aditya Kumar 2021-05-02T01:56:14Z

I;m a huge fan of fire emblem games and tactics in general. This was very fun to play around and fresh with the procedural generated levels. The difficulty is a little weird since there could be some levels were you just get very unlucky with the starting position. I managed to get one of my characters extremely over leveled and they just swept the floor with everyone in that level, however I accidentally hit end turn and they ended up dying and that was the end of my run. Great job on making such a complicated system of tactics in such a short amount of time! <3

DigTD by JakNak72 2021-05-15T23:37:02Z

I really like the concept of the game where you dig the path your enemies tunnel through for you to set up turrets, I wish there was a way to tunnel back and place more turrets or a sort of wave system, it felt like i was getting owned all the time and it was kind of arbitrary. There is digging but I don't really see the theme connection with 'deeper and deeper'. With a bit more polish I think that has immense potential to be a great game.

Bubbly by Kaish 2021-05-12T00:04:39Z

Very interesting mechanic with the light orbs, a little confusing but cool. Maybe some type of tutorialization in the level design to explain mechanics at the start of the game would help. The enemies are pretty unforgiving so maybe some sort of feedback to show the enemies like the spider would be cool to add to help the player. <3

Quick Scrap by Vimlark 2021-05-14T21:58:37Z

The variety in movement for the vertical axis is amazing, it allows for simple speedrun tricks like pressing down multiple times, I see a lot possible of variety in level using up and down in a rhythmic way. It was a little hard for me to wrap my head around a space platformer where as soon as I let go on any horizontal axis the astronaut immediately stops, however I do see how this can be more responsive than the contrary. Overall fantastic game entry for a compo game congrats Vimlark wishing you the best! See you on the stream ! <3

Going Down in Fishstory by Jonas Tyroller 2021-05-13T23:42:33Z

The animation and voice acting are amazing! I really like the movement mechanics, the game itself is a bit short but I can for sure see this growing into a bigger game! The speed up is super satisfying, congrats on making such a cute and awesome game!

Murder on 34th Street by DanyVk 2021-05-17T02:58:50Z

I had fun playing detective on the game, sadly for some reason it didn't let me incriminate Alezza even though I had a good case against her. I like the aesthetic, and the the moody atmosphere created by the game. The stories I personally thought were interesting even if a bit slow. Got a good narrative going on maybe allow the player to skip text thought so they can choose to auto roll the text or spam through. Great approach tho <3

Viper Mission One by Majadroid 2021-04-28T21:29:06Z

I LOVE BATTLESTAR GALACTICA! These Cylons stood no chance against my incredible gaming skills. I really liked shooting the asteroid off and was having a blast... blasting away the enemies. Impressive work for a single individual, next time, some power-ups or different attacks would be cool! <3

DO NOT INSERT INSIDE THE EAR CANAL!!! by cheesepencil 2021-04-28T00:06:27Z

OHHHH YEAAAH!! Now that is some effective cleaning. Only 4 hours to make this gem is pretty impressive, maybe sometimes less is actually more ??? As a speedrunner I am "THE EAR CLEANING CHAMP" according to the dev. Gives me very good Wario ware vibes, impressive work <3

6 Feet Under by theStoff 2021-04-30T00:00:20Z

WOW, I'm so impressed with everything this game has to offer. The game play is engaging and creative using drill mechanics that not many could come up with. The art is amazingly cute and I'm a big fan of the little zombie girl dancing animation. The ending actually made me well up by the DEEPNESS the story holds. Not that many games make you feel as strongly as this one does, highly recommend it. I hope you all get to win this game jam as you deserve it for real! <3 <3 <3

Ocelot Safari by pancelor 2021-04-30T02:23:40Z

I WAS ONE TILE AWAY I CAN BELIEVE IT! The little ocelots are super cute and I really like the sprites for the logs and rocks created by hitting trees and store. The water was a little confusing at first but that's on me (being color blind and all) otherwise everything was pretty clear. I was enthralled trying to get the emerald and accidentally softlocked myself but a sweet ocelot saved us last moment and I manged to light a fire. These sort of experiences are not so common so congrats on making a fantastic game! <3 <3

20.000 LIGHT YEARS deep in THE SKY by Arivenzys 2021-05-12T21:37:59Z

The art and the voice acting alone are something incredible about this game! The handling of resources was interesting and its all tied to the interesting different planets, I'd love to live on the donut shaped one! <3 congrats on the fantastic looking game, incredibly impressive for a jam game. <3

Planet LD48B by Outfrost 2021-05-17T01:32:33Z

I enjoyed the game quite a bit! The music is calming and energizing when fighting enemies. The art style is super cute and appealing. I really enjoyed the game loop finding the different types of flower orbs to proceed to the next section! Congrats on a successful game jam! <3

Swab the Deck! by dans17 2021-05-12T01:30:56Z

This game was so much fun! The graphics, music, pirates... amazing! I'm blown away by the deck building ideas you have for the game, its a like a mix between slay the spire, clash royale and megaman battle network, which are all right up my alley. Congrats on making such a fantastic idea for such a short amount of time! I very much enjoyed everything this game has to offer!

Aero-Spéléo by Aune 2021-05-15T22:13:18Z

The audio and graphics are really cool. I like the general idea the game has with the air control, the first level was really fun since I managed to get ahead of the piano at the bottom and it made me feel like a bad ass. Congrats on making a cool game that explores the different ideas with air friction and free falling. Post-gamejam idea I have would be to make the levels procedurally generated. I agree with the sentiment that a cat would make it cooler, I believe there is a cat falling game in the top graded games. <3 <3

Axel the Axolotl Saves the Day by Empty Set 2021-05-16T01:00:54Z

THIS DESERVES MORE RATINGS!! I really liked the puzzles and the humor in this game. The art is also very cute! <3 I can't wait for more levels!

Submersive by deadmanjw 2021-05-15T20:48:24Z

I'm sorry you didn't have enough time to finish the game :( There is something interesting about using pictures and getting graded to receive upgrades. The fish models are cool but some animation would be nice. You could try changing the sprite on the base particle physics effect in Unity to make the submarine expel bubbles instead of the basic bulbs of light it comes with. Instead of using toggle speeds, it would be more fun to add velocity to the submarine and would make it more responsive and fun. Adding colliders to the prefabs even if they are simply box colliders would change the feeling in general. Game jams are rough and sometimes life gets in the way, don't worry about it, I look forward to your game dev journey and improvement! <3

Deeply Organic by DoctorTM 2021-05-12T21:51:55Z

A magic school bus adventure to save this mans stomach! I love the different paradigm shifts through the game and each level progresses! I'm also a big fan of the low poly style! Honestly the only way to make this better is simply to add more levels and paradigm shifts, and also maybe a song that represents the theme of going deeper and deeper. Congrats! <3

Boris with a crazy dream by Kirby 2021-04-28T21:01:13Z

The art is absolutely incredible, the portraits are amazing. Simple game with a couple among us style mini games. Overall very impressive for a single person to make all of this in just a couple days! <3

River, Carry Me Away by Noire 2021-05-12T01:50:28Z

The narrative experience tied to the audio visual gameplay is unique and something to admire. I was immerse in the experience thanks to the incredible soundtrack. Congrats on making something so unique and beautiful.

Selkö by Doot 2021-05-12T21:03:06Z

Really chill mood and interesting end! I like the light mechanics and the different interactions available with the fish, there's some interesting puzzles but I'd love to see a bit more to the light mechanics. Fantastic looking game congrats! <3

Red Archer by BadPiggy 2021-05-14T01:46:48Z

The movement is soooo satisfying, shooting and slow-mo reminds me a little of breath of the wild but with a zoom into enemy and bounce off sort of like Specter Knight from Shovel Knight Franchise. If you shoot a little slow it doesn't shoot at all but it seems that was fixed in the post-jam version of the game. Congrats on making something so interesting mechanically yet in such a short amount of time. You should explore the mechanic in the future because I think I has something special and cool. <3 <3

Hellevator by baconn00 2021-05-14T23:57:11Z

I love the drawing mechanics implements in this game, it makes for a very interesting dynamic where I have to choose between drawing or dodging the enemies. I do think it would make for some more interesting decision making for the player if the generator would move around. Otherwise the splattering of the blood and all of the different demon attacks are very cool, congrats on making something so intriguing during just 48 hrs of development! <3

Into the Deep Web by Jon Topielski 2021-05-15T00:17:28Z

Really interesting mechanic going on with the dice rolls and the abilities available it would be cool if you started with the shuffle ability so there was some cool interesting player choice from the very beginning. Congrats on making such a good looking compo game!

The Deep Woods is finish and you can play it !!!! by Math-s 2021-05-18T00:14:49Z

I ran around for a bit but there seems to be a memory leak because it runs poorly on my computer and I have a monster computer. Good looking game but maybe there should be a way to point the player in the correct directions as I didn't really see the path from the beginning.

Blackout by Frasse 2021-05-11T23:44:18Z

The art and music are incredible, the mystery of the house is fun to explore and I love the plot twists. Very entertaining mystery to solve! <3

Keyboard to the Depths by QYOUK 2021-05-15T21:01:52Z

This is a very interesting concept, with a little more time I could see this having a bunch of different levels and cool puzzles. You could implement a cool-down system that could make the gameplay a little more dynamic so I don't end up holding the same keys down for a while. However, I do see the argument of having these simple levels as a tutorial idea to teach players about the mechanics of the game. Very impressive compo game design idea, it gets my certified cool game jam seal of approval! Congrats on making something so unique! <3

Dreadnought Parlance & the Magic Pearl by DecrementedPalindrome 2021-05-15T23:04:04Z

The song is really catchy, however the beeps get really loud and kind of disturbing. Some sort of encouragement could help the game, since I kept looking for the pearl at the bottom and yet I only found invisible walls. The mine, character and coin have cute art tho! Keep it up! <3

Deep ribbit by teshimoto 2021-04-28T02:20:24Z

The little frog ribbit is soooo cute KERO KERO <3 The mechanics are simple and intuitive, theres some problems with the collisions but it can be fixed pretty easily. Great job finishing a game is such a short time! Hopefully there will be more of this cute little froggy. <3

Deep Space by Crazy32 2021-05-15T22:38:04Z

Good attempt for 14, you could watch some tutorials and maybe include some sort of shooting mechanic and sound as well. Check out Brackys youtube channel for some hot tips in Unity. Keep it up and you could get something cool for your next jam.

Treasure dive by Thagiat 2021-04-27T21:57:30Z

Good arcade style game! Really like the way the game played once I got the magnet, it made me feel powerful. The ship was cute and the music was really chill. Good job overall! <3

Nostril Navigator by Xenon27 2021-04-29T21:29:24Z

The sneeze sound effect is great, hilarious compo game! Id love to see a timer/score or something where progression is visible.

Nyctophobia by TheJohnyFeeD 2021-04-27T20:33:08Z

I won't lie, I'm a scaredy cat and this game gave me the hibbie jibbies. The attention to detail in animation and lighting really sells the mood. There's a couple of weird interactions with collision but nothing off putting. One thing I would change is the ESC button always fudged with me when receiving a new item. I love to move around aiming the gun and looking like a baddie.

Short and sweet! Very wholesome and introspective, definitely coveys a message and an idea that reflect the themes of the game jam. Good job <3

I'm a huge fan of grapple mechanics and this hits all the right spots. The animation for the tentacles was really well made and fluid. I wish it was a bit longer so I could enjoy those grappling mechanics a bit more. Being able to slowly move or use the grapple to zoom around really appeals to multiple game styles and showing off personality through game-play. One cool suggestion I have is using the same code to extend the grapple but using a different button for a sort of pole that pushes you instead of pulling. Amazing work, keep it up! <3

Descension AI by Chrispy977 2021-05-01T22:54:36Z

I love the 2001 space odyssey vibes from this game. The bullets hell aspect of the game was interesting as the character was much larger than typical bullet hell games, also since you can leave the screen bounds it allows for some interesting game play where I don't run out of space to move and yet you as the player want to get back to screen. <3

Neuro Diver by gimmers 2021-04-28T22:38:54Z

"Everyone knows the brain runs on AAA batteries" LOL I really like the way the first level played in a circular radius way, it was very creative and different. The level design is brutal but I beat the mental traumas. I really like the idea of using fuel and HP as the same resource, it makes for some interesting choices where I can decide to book it even though I might get hit, or take it slow and easy making sure not to get hit along the way, allows for two different play styles. <3 <3

Pâquerette Down the Bunburrow by Herbie Puppy 2021-04-28T22:10:41Z

SOOO CUTE! The animations and bunnies are incredible, by heart is begging for more levels! The babies mechanics is incredibly DEEP and interesting. The music is so cute and chill, I'm gonna have a little loop in the background while I'm doing some dev work later. <3 <3 for babies <3 <3

Ziggurat by nethead 2021-05-14T22:52:49Z

The graphics are really great! I loved playing this interesting jumping/scaling platformer, the jump is really satisfying and it makes it feel like its possibly a speedrunnable game. <3 <3

Good idea for a game! I just kinda wish you changed the font...

Asterisk by Crychair 2021-04-27T23:56:59Z

I am truly impressed with the result of what you all made in only 72 hours. There is so much polish into every aspect of the game, the sprite work, the menu art, the music, the voice over, the humor, even the simple yet DEEP gameplay mechanics. Simply by adding some sort of progression system I could easily see this game on any game store. As a fan of drilling mechanics, you really pulled off a satisfying game feel. <3 <3

Depth of Death by KenForest 2021-04-27T21:31:43Z

The toilet mechanic cracked me up, and in the same moment I got pretty scared. Good game for a first time jammer, really enjoyed the boss fight, it made me think of minecraft fighting the dragon at the end. Congrats on finishing your first game jam! Hopefully we'll see more! <3

Surface Level by javi7 2021-04-30T00:35:53Z

I love the speed, and I relate to the idea the game conveys trying to avoid doing small talk. The art is really cute, I particularly like the "Player" and their shopping cart. The song is catJAM and the entire idea of the game is hilarious! Congrats on such an awesome pico8 game! <3

Deep Dive by Soyeahimjames 2021-05-15T21:33:56Z

The art is really cool, although I think some of the objects are rendering in the wrong layer, like the fish teeth and the missile is rendered behind the submarine. Some of the hitboxes are a bit fishy and makes it feel sort of unfair when you manage to run away but you still get hit. Overall, very good entry for your first ludum dare and compo game! Congrats!

The power of the deep by Tris250 2021-05-01T23:23:18Z

It was short but sweet! Interesting dual resource mechanics. Good job for your first game jam! <3

Where's my dynoMITE? [LD48] by miej 2021-04-27T22:52:53Z

I love the audio clips, I couldn't stop repeating them, "I love the smell of dyntoMITE in the morning". Very innovative and challenging gameplay trying to use rope as a main mechanic. The hectic crazy controls add a lot to this humorous game and its aesthetic. Even though the art might look jank, it help with the style the game is going for. Very fun overall! <3

Deep Pocket Digs by ChrisAP 2021-04-28T19:44:41Z

@wheybags That's a really good suggestion, auto drill when hitting dirt in air. Thank you!

Deep Pocket Digs by ChrisAP 2021-05-13T22:36:45Z

@ismael-rodriguez I've gotten the 6 feet under comparison a lot! 6 feet under is my personal favorite entry for LD 48 and the devs are so cool. I loved your game! I've been dealing with some tethering mechanics on a different game and I've been having a rough time with those physics.

Descending by János Parádi 2021-05-17T22:14:21Z

I really like the graphics and lighting system you have for your game, some upgrades might make it more engaging for the player. I really liked the way the submarine controlled in the game, it was fast and responsive, where if a mistake happens I know its my fault and not the games reaction to what I want to do. Keep up the good work

Deep Drive by Ahmed Hamdi 2021-05-17T01:43:50Z

The car models are really cool and there is some cool aspect to the idea of barriers blocking off the driver. I don't think the theme is as explicitly obvious since I never really felt like I was going deeper into a cave of the sorts. The music sound was pretty interesting and funky, maybe there could be some exploration of the mechanics from the car using the audio as feedback since I was the most original thing I found from the game. Otherwise congrats on completing a game jam, I hope you had fun with it and keep it up! <3

Deem by AdamPhoebe 2021-04-30T01:06:15Z

The sandbox style gameplay is fresh and innovative compared to most arcade style games people turn it for jams. I love the art and the violin is super cute. Congrats on making such a cool atmospheric game <3 <3

Bob Goes Below by Athedron 2021-05-17T03:34:02Z

HOW DOES THIS ONLY HAVE 4 RATINGS!? The art is amazing and even though the gameplay is simple, its effective and responsive. The audio is cute and I like the restart audio cue. The font and UI elements are amazing and this should be getting more attention! Maybe next time, after submitting your game, you could try rating a few games to get some "smart score" which gives you more visibility. Another option is to post your game on various live streams on twitch and youtube to get them to play the game. I hope you get the number of ratings you deserve, I'll be pushing it as much as I can on my stream so it gets scored.

Depth Balance by kremlebot 2021-05-17T02:20:34Z

There is actually a really interesting concept behind the idea of your game! I enjoyed playing and discovering how the buildings were distributing people around. I think it has a lot of potential if you added some sort of level system or upgrade or some sort of progression, maybe that could be something you add post game jam that could make it interesting! This is critically underrated and should definitely receive a score as it properly deserves! Hopefully you'll get enough ratings! I'm rooting for you! <3

The Shrinking by Rayo 2021-05-14T22:28:20Z

I love the shrinking mechanic, theres a lot to explore there. The jump is satisfying although sometimes it feels a little inconsistent, you could try resetting the velocity when the second jump activates to reset how the gravity is affecting the player character. Overall very cool game, reminds me a lot of limbo and the shinking character makes it look like little nightmares. Awesome aesthetics! Keep up the good work! <3

HELL deep is your love? by Villanelle 2021-05-12T00:42:36Z

I really like the platforming and the general game feel of this game! The art is really cute even thought the levels are as hard as they are. I need to check out the post-jam version but this was a great entry for the jam! I specifically really like the couching sprite, for some reason I find it very funny. I look forward to playing the game more, the biggest issue I have with the game is the medusa enemy but it seems that was addressed in the post jam version so I'm looking forward to checking out that! <3 <3

Torch Runner by prashantn 2021-05-15T23:49:41Z

The low poly art is cool! I especially really like the torch and fire particles. It would be fun to have some sort of indicator of progression that tell the player collecting orbs is rewarding. Maybe make the torch a little brighter the more orbs you get. The aesthetic is really cute in general! <3

Ludum Dare News Network by SecretJuice 2021-05-13T00:08:01Z

THIS WAS HILARIOUS! I had so much fun playing this game getting my voice as deep as possible. I feel like theres some creative endeavor here where you can make more gamplay around the fluctuations of the players voice. Absolutely incredible voice acting by the guy who replaces CHAD, super creative game play, I'm very impressed! Congrats!

Deeper And Deeper by QuantumSeagull 2021-04-29T02:29:49Z

Hey, found your game from the comments in my game! I love that we both went for the mole digging theme! I like how the game jam theme fits with your game since you cant go back up, only DEEPER and DEEPER. The controls are simple and yet the procedural generation is pretty impressive for a game jam. Great job on the game! <3

Dark Inside by haivron 2021-05-17T00:18:29Z

Deserve a lot more ratings!! I wish there was a soundtrack that would go with the creepy deep web aethetic. The art is amazing and the mechanics are tight, there's something clever about using a defensive move to attack in this game that is worth exploring. The characters are cute and the animation looks really solid! This should be getting a lot more attention! I helped you reach 20 rating to receive a score but this should be getting noticed a lot more! Congrats on making something that looks so cute! I also really like the intro scene that starts the game, I haven't seen anything like that in any other game for this jam.

TamanDua by Funambulist Cat 2021-05-14T23:34:41Z

photo_2021-05-14_18-29-51.jpg Possibly the highest score in this game yet!? I love the aesthetics of the game and the main mechanic is fun to use. Really impressive work for your first game jam. Congrats on making something so compelling! It would be fun to make the R click have some sort of impact on the players decision making (maybe it scores only when it comes back to the ant eaters mouth). Sometimes the spawning of the cute bugs is inside of the collision barrier of the bouncy and sticky barrier which makes it impossible to get if they get in there, for the player this feels a little frustrating. One way to stop this is to make a collision check when the bug spawns and don't spawn it in case its inside the barrier, I hope that helps! Congrats again <3

Introspection by Zuwu 2021-05-17T00:47:04Z

Very clever idea, the last enemy was so hard tho! I like the use of the dash to go in the direction of the mouse, it was a bit weird at first to get used to it instead of dashing the way I was moving already but I think it works out. The different levels are cool since they all have their own theme song and background! Keep it up! <3

Rabbit Rappel by MatterLinx 2021-05-12T23:17:29Z

This game in incredibly polished and has really cool mechanics! I like the rappel and shooting combination for a set of interesting mechanics. The shooting also has the dual utility of being used for combat and creating momentum while rappelling, as well as used for the rocket jump mechanics. The music loop was a little short but when it goes into the rock mode it was catJAM. Congrats! <3

Labyrinth of the Undead by D34TH0FTIT4N5 2021-04-27T22:20:56Z

I got a record score of 35 Squares! The audio feedback helps the user know where the character is crashing but its a bit harsh on the ears. The procedural generation was cool and the maze levels increasing in difficulty were very challenging. Congrats on a cool game! <3

Infinite Descent by BluishGreenPro 2021-04-27T19:58:32Z

Instantly I was captivated by the monochrome aesthetic and the simplistic yet beautifully animated character and enemies. The level design is through the roof, I instinctively knew where to go and how to complete the screen. The platforming is tight and the controls feel amazing. Honestly the best game I've played in the game jam so far. The theme of deeper and deeper really resonates with the level design in particular and revisiting old areas with new challenges keeps the game play fresh (when i saw the times i nearly pooped myself) Also great soundtrack and love how it gets more and more intense over each DEEPNESS.

Nautilus: Gestation by Perpetua Franck 2021-05-18T01:13:25Z

Its a little confusing what is going on but I do like the pixel art. When the text is auto adjusting it moves a lot making it hard to read. There is also a bit of dissonance when I start the game I'm moving very fast, but then the game stops my and displays text in slow mo, the slow mo is cool but it feels like it gets in the way of the gameplay. Maybe there could be a button to move on from the text after having read it instead of having it write slowly on screen.

Sam Sludge: The case of the dirty runoff by doubleday 2021-05-17T23:02:45Z

The filter graphic you are using to make everything look pixelated was pretty cool, besides a few graphical glitches it looked pretty impressive. I like how you reward the player for exploration and investigating new areas. The game play was a little basic but it was all right, I just wish there was a way to change back to the plunger. The game was supposed to be scary but the enemies didn't really make sound to help that happen. Congrats on finishing a game in a short amount of time that rewards the player for decision that encourage exploration!

Spooky Ocean Game by CasualNothing 2021-05-16T23:01:54Z

The music is such a catJAM, sadly no sound effects. The art style is very brave as it tried to combine vector art with pixel art. The start screen could use a bit of work other than having the basic UI unity elements, for example changing the font would go a long way. Is there a sound cloud where I can check out the music because that was such a good track.

SPERMA by the neon shark 2021-04-29T22:09:01Z

Hilarious and kind of disturbing but actually fun to play. If the theme was spaceship that you control it could be a legit game. The steering was confusing but I got it eventually, holding all my bros and sis together to reach the egg for proper tribute. Good job, weird theme choice lol

Peripherals by KeyFriends 2021-05-16T23:37:44Z

The narrator remind me of Stanleys parable and the keyboard restrictions are very interesting mechanic, I wish I could explore it more. The enemies are so punishing when you die tho, having to start from such a long way back is harsh. The enemy model is hilarious and so it the narrator. Very cool concept worth exploring more, however I don't see a clear connection between the game and the jams theme. I kind of feel like this game would have made it to the video in GMTK Out of Control theme though. <3 I hope you get more rating as y'all deserve it for sure!
