LD38 — A Small World

Goodbye, world! by chromableedstudios 2021-04-25T15:59:37Z

Interesting idea. I would have loved to have a solid end goal to fend off enemies without destroying your own planet or something. The physics were a bit wonky like others have mentioned, but overall pretty fun.

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Time Break by Ivan Garcia Filho 2020-10-08T02:32:44Z

Pretty cool. Fun little game with an awesome mechanic added! It was a little tough to figure out how to properly use the time thing at first but after a couple tries I started figuring it out.

Me, Myselfs and I by davision 2020-10-07T22:47:30Z

The control scheme was very difficult to get on top of and picking up items or swapping them was very difficult. I really couldn't figure out how to use much and so I got stuck during the monster fight I figured out how to trigger with the Y button I think. I really like the fact that you could drop down the center in an infinite loop. Over all pretty interesting concept with some decent potential.

Monotonous by Thesandgamer 2020-10-08T00:09:42Z

Fun fact, if you get ontop of the coffee machine on day 2 you can get out of that map. That was fun. The game kept braking for me and not loading. Keep working at it.

Psychopath Basement by Corbak 2020-10-09T00:54:31Z

Love the way you incorporated the theme, the fact that it works so well is a testament to your skill. The art style added a lot of character to the game as well. I really enjoyed the little noises the characters made as well.

Loopy Island by honzapat 2020-10-07T23:37:10Z

Took me a couple of tries to figure out what I was supposed to be doing, but other than a couple of difficulties getting the camera to move when my character was out of sight I thought it was well done. Cute game that kind of reminds me of the escape room flash games I used to play but now in 3D. Keep at it!

Nugget by plloyer 2020-10-09T00:45:59Z

Great audio, fun idea overall and really well executed. Good stuff overall.

Whil-E by gustavo moraes 2020-10-08T02:41:33Z

That was a fun little game. I like the little robot design. It was a bit overall plain, but it got the message across effectively. I like the programming fun of it. Not sure if went with the theme super well. Still had a good time though.

Training Day by Tchou 2020-10-07T23:49:30Z

Can't say I loved it, felt pretty boring. I was really hoping for a twist, but either there wasn't one or I didn't make it that far. Not a bad game, but room for some improvement. Looks great though.

Yes! by Dandala88 2020-10-07T23:06:27Z

@scharma Thanks, yeah this was the first time using Unity for a couple of us and so we knew we weren't going to get things just right, but we hope to develop on that in future projects.

Yes! by Dandala88 2020-10-07T23:07:22Z

@dak001 Yeah, our character kinda gets stuck on that a bit, the animation was probably a bit longer than needed and so the transition from falling back to idle doesn't look quite like what we might have with a longer project, but it adds character haha.

Yes! by Dandala88 2020-10-07T23:14:50Z

@stratcat66 We were excited to work on a 3D platformer and really wanted to make it a bit of a challenge. At the end of the day the animations were just a bit wonky and we didn't feel we had enough time to polish them. I'm glad it gave you a bit of a challenge.

Yes! by Dandala88 2020-10-08T01:28:46Z

@cax Agreed, a little bit of a tutorial might have been good to get you on your feet, we really wanted to get some exploratory elements in there too so we hoped for find a balance, definitely could've used a nudge in the other direction.

One More Day by Bit Assembly 2020-10-09T00:39:53Z

Not a ton of fun to be had, but it follows the theme well and was well put together. Nice entry.

satans car shop by JulieLopez 2020-10-07T16:23:23Z

Interesting little animation, and I think I see where you were going with this, but I'll admit I too am a bit confused as to what game play mechanics you were really trying to integrate here.

Twister by can123ten 2020-10-08T02:13:36Z

It's an interesting take on the theme, but the controls are very spongy.

Yandere Emulator by DOME 2020-10-07T23:54:12Z

Very interesting and well executed. My goopy goblin gamer brain finds these kinds of games hard to play through all the way, but it has a good aesthetic and overall vibes.

The Well Of Reality by Okean 2020-10-07T23:26:08Z

Can I just say how absolutely terrifying that hell column following you is the first time you see it. At first I wanted to jump into it, but then I realized it was just following me and laying the track I had previously run into. Overall a decent challenge, but the shooting mechanics weren't the best. I'm sure with some polish and maybe some kind of story input this could be a whole ass game. Could you imagine if the Doom Slayer got to skip through a heavenly hedge maze on his days off. That would be hilarious.

Brainwashed by Gianluca Tessicini 2020-10-08T02:10:12Z

This a way fun idea, I like the arcade feel to it. Decent levels and a good number of them. I'll be watching for what you do in the future.

Welcome to TAROT by Bruno Assolari 2020-10-08T02:24:08Z

I like the art style, the gameplay is a bit boring for my taste. It's an interesting idea, but I'd like a bit more at stake in the world.

Something to Tell You by Blind Lemon Games 2020-10-07T22:40:23Z

A very interesting narrative, the parts where you could actually move around though were really strange and I ended up falling out of the map multiple times which made the audio less impactful. Overall very interesting.

Loop Overflow by Rhythm 2020-10-07T23:04:55Z

I really enjoyed that. A very creative idea executed pretty darn well in my opinion. Swap up the beans for some basic robot characters with some fancy animation and you would have a pretty game, next we add in some voice acting and we would have a worth selling indi game in my opinion, maybe with a couple of extra levels. Keep up the great work.

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Deep Descent by Predominant 2021-04-27T01:56:02Z

Very difficult to control even with the xbox controller, I had to be very precise. Overall pretty fun, feels classic and simple.

You Killed Someone by RetroSpecter 2021-05-01T00:23:47Z

This was a ton of fun, like playing a bit of among us without needing friends or annoying voice chat. The mechanics are a bit simple and I found it really easy to beat so increasing the difficulty and choices could be fun. Getting a bit graphical could bring it to a new level, but I would respect it if this is the kind of idea you wanted to keep text based. Creating your own narrative and having to remember the lies was fun, sometimes I was presented with totally different options though and that made it hard to lie and I was immediately called on it. That felt both like BS and then later when I kept being presented with the same choices to lie it made it feel too easy. I think the best version of this lies somewhere in between, but making it so you can split the group off and only have some people around would be cool too, then you have to remember what you have told certain people and you can get away with your lies only if no one on the current group hasn't heard a different response. Tons of different ways you could take this in a really cool direction!

WATERCOLOR GALAXY by chaoclypse 2021-04-27T01:58:13Z

Very pretty, I enjoyed messing around with the settings. Very chill game that I could just put some music on and watch for a good while. Not the first time I've seen a fluid/ smoke simulator, but it was executed pretty well and kept things simple.

Nuclear blaze by deepnight 2021-05-02T20:02:47Z

I wish this had audio in it. I think it would really flesh out the experience and bring it all together. The water physics got me good. I enjoyed the experience so much I wish I could just have a game using this character to fill up a giant hole with water. The graphics were beautiful and the progression felt satisfying. It was a little hard to understand how the fire spread at first though it made sense I just wasn't expecting it and ended up feeling like Mr. Incredible a couple times. Getting a hold of the mechanic where you have to shoot water on yourself was a bit of a challenge at first as well. Once you have gone through the learning curve though this game becomes a little monotonous. Adding in some more unique puzzles would bring this game to the next level.

Deep Waters by citsua 2021-04-29T19:13:19Z

Emotional undertones and a pretty gripping story. I wish I had more time to go looking for all of the secrets hidden within. The pacing came off a bit slow and while I appreciate exploratory gaming I felt pretty lost as to what my real goal was and the water didn't rise fast enough for me so I had to just sit and wait at some points to get a book or two, but overall not bad at all.

Narva the Narwhal by souperstrawer 2021-05-01T05:40:13Z

The game was fine, but it was near impossible to kill any of the other fish. The model seemed a bit stiff as well. Fun take on the theme though.

Eldritch Depths by simex 2021-04-30T23:56:37Z

That was a ton of fun to play. The way the shooting mechanic works was really unique from what I have seen and I had a lot of fun mastering that with the movement. I would love to see more like this in the future. The core gameplay loop did get a little stale, maybe adding some power ups for new abilities could be cool (different projectiles, shield effects, maybe add a slash to the dash) Just a few of my thoughts. The theme and mood felt well put together. I'd love to see narrative added to it as well.

DOWNHELL by Belonzik 2021-04-28T02:22:20Z

That was pretty fun. Hard depending on the randomness. I got some pretty hard enemies right off the back, but got a hold on the mechanics after a minute. The sound was pretty good as well. I could see this being a strong contender for the top spots.

Oh no, I opened the door and there was a fish! by OursBleu 2021-05-01T03:40:21Z

Pretty interesting take on the theme. Felt really deep and dark, can't believe you were able to make all of this in one weekend. Pretty insane level of detail. The fishes around the map didn't seem to fit into the environment too well.

Diggurai by svyatozar 2021-04-27T02:39:05Z

Felt pretty dark and dismal, other than the sprite and lighting. The music really sets a mood. Maybe not the mood you were really going for it was a little hard to tell. The controls don't feel awesome and right from the get go I had a hard time getting on to certain platforms. You really need to give the player a sense of direction, I couldn't really tell where I was supposed to head or what to do other than just dig the block I could.

Aye! Aye! Captain! by Lumous 2021-05-01T21:56:21Z

Not a bad entry, though I can't say I really enjoyed it. The experience was a bit too easy and straight forward for my taste. I think some more platforming and more specific boundaries on the map would be nice. I found that I was halfway into the floor most of the time. It kind of gave a parallax effect, but mostly I think it just brought me out of the game. The fished to bounce on were really inconsistent as well.

Deep Miners by dimaswift 2021-04-27T02:06:44Z

I had a really zen time playing this. The vibe is just so perfect. The sound is very ASMR. Lots of fun to play around with. I like the idea of the idle clicker too. Would love to see that come to fruition so if you go that route make sure to update me with a link. The colors and glow were a lot of fun too.

LD48 - The Forest by pRoFiT 2021-05-01T01:06:42Z

Your LOD on the leaves was a lot larger than the trees so I saw a lot of floating leaves with no trees. The skybox made it really apparent somehow. Music in the shack should probably be sourced to the radio in the corner rather than the rafters. Overall a decent game, the daughter at the end was a bit for nightmare fuel though. 30 minute playthrough is a bit long for LD for sure, but that has been mentioned. I think flow management is probably where you want to look as far as improvement. Make sure you know exactly what story you want to tell and then create a small version. You can always expand out and go bigger. Wringing things in to go smaller can be a bit of a challenge sometimes. Time is the enemy though, if you are interested I do project management both for my team and professionally, I'd be happy to give some tips and tricks of going from idea/ theme > product (even when you don't have too much time  ) Great job and getting something done regardless of your constraints though, it takes guts to submit no matter what and I think too many people have a product even further in the pipeline that this was that don't submit and the world is often worse off for it so again thanks for putting your work out there and keep it up!

The Forgotten Halls by vfqd 2021-04-27T15:28:09Z

Love it, this game was very well made and had a real air of mystery about it. It was a little hard to grasp the main gameplay loop and a little more tutorial at the beginning might have been nice to understand how all the mechanics played together, but on my second attempt I was able to reach the end without any of my acolytes dying of starvation. I would love to see a more fleshed out version of this with voice acting and stuff, would definitely check it out on steam or another platform if it was developed further. Great entry.

blank by Dreadusa 2021-05-02T19:49:16Z

The proc generation was pretty good, you saw some of the bugs I ran into on stream, but outside of that really impressive for a Jam. The movement is hard to master, but really fun to play with. I thought the difficulty curve was just about right. The graphics were a lot of fun too, I really felt like I was playing a game out of time. Probably due to inexperience, but I don't have much in the way of solid feedback, other than keep leaning in this direction, I'd love to see more enemy types, a little bit clearer instructions on the starting area (just easier to read, though the style is fun).

To the Core by Eric Smith 2021-05-01T05:18:40Z

Hilarious intro cut scene. I got to the bottom barely surviving and was not ready to make my way back up. Didn't get anywhere clos. Guess I'll have to try again another time. Decent game. Thanks for the entry I had fun playing.

To the Center of the Earth by oda 2021-04-27T02:31:32Z

I enjoyed the core concept of just infinite play, felt a lot like if flappy bird did less flapping and more drilling. I didn't particularly enjoy the sound it grated on the ears a bit. That might have been the point though to simulate the experience of being a drill. The classic games feel of it is pretty awesome, hit the vibe there. Adding some pick ups or something else to drive the player deeper and deeper might have better refined your core gameplay loop.

Last Flower by Ekaterina 2021-04-29T18:27:36Z

So good, I really enjoyed the atmosphere. You really hit an awesome narrative note here. I always find it so hard to find ways to tell a narrative story without losing gameplay, but I feel like you hit a pretty good balance. I would argue it wasn't the most fun game in the world, but since it had the emotional tones I feel like it made up for it.

Power Station Beta by Dock Frankenstein 2021-05-01T04:22:05Z

Like portal and antichamber had a baby but it was a little premature. Still needs some work to be in a really fun state. Most of the time the blue charges just came at me with no way to defend or keep myself alive. I ended up using cheesy strats to make it through. The voice for the announcer wasn't my favorite, recording your own voice might add some character, though on a tight schedule I understand using what you did. The overall vibe seems like it was pointing to the deeper and deeper idea, but I think you could have leaned into it a bit harder. Not bad, but can't say it was my favorite.

Deep Dungeon Tactics by Aditya Kumar 2021-05-02T19:52:40Z

I have become a god level wizard. That is to say I think there is some mechanic tweaks needed. Once I realized I could just use one character primarily it made it too easy to start one shotting everything with my wizard while hiding my other characters in the corner or letting them fall to the wayside dead in a ditch. The basics of a really good game are all here, the level design is a little lack luster, I would love some different environments/ rooms with different elements, maybe even some interactive stuff that lets you use the environment against bigger enemies. Xcom ran into a similar problem with their games where people would be way too methodical and careful in their games due to the fact that your troops have perma death and only the ones in combat get XP, I think there is a happy medium in there somewhere.

Bubbly by Kaish 2021-05-02T19:46:28Z

The overall mood and feel of the game is pretty good and I like the score board element. Makes it really motivating to try and get good at the game. There seems to be a pretty steep curve though. Your map generation works pretty well and with the ceiling coming down there is a real sense of urgency and progression. The biggest gripe I would have is with the enemies there are a lot right from the get go and it feels like the best solution is to just run and kill maybe one or two if you can edge them in, but since you lose your ball with no way to retrieve it over time or anything it feels almost too risky to attack sometimes. Most of the deaths at first felt pretty unfair, but then the more I played and better I got the less it felt cheap and the more I felt there was a way out most of the time but that feeling still came around time to time, usually due to level design at that point I think. I think both the levels and the enemies work on their own, but maybe there is a better balance to be achieved here.

Mining Robot by Doc_Moustache 2021-04-29T18:50:16Z

Very fun little game. I think it is worth considering that I played this game for a solid 20 minutes or so before pulling myself away. It has the addictive quality of some other popular mining games and some of the stuff that you find on apps like Core. (Maybe consider making a version over there to make a small profit?) I think the environment could use a bit of a make over and beatification, but it wasn't terrible to look at or anything. The robot is a fun little character, but doesn't fit in with the world to well. Maybe make the world style fit the robot better or vice versa. The song in the background lost its luster after a bit and I wouldn't mind a change in sound as you progress, but it is also possible I didn't get far enough to see that since I was so focused on just upgrading my gear and getting that next dopamine hit from it. Not bad at all!

L1-S0N by Beardmage 2021-05-01T03:56:23Z

Interesting visuals, though it does get a bit repetitive on that front. The game play was fun enough, but it was too hard to see where the next goals were. You ended up just having to explore with not enough time. In the description you mentioned planning your route, but it's pretty hard when you can't see enough to make a plan. Cute robot though I did have some difficulty using the jet pack move, it was still fun to hop around and see the cavernous map.

Viper Mission One by Majadroid 2021-04-27T02:26:47Z

I enjoyed the simple gameplay, it was easy to just play it. The gameplay is a bit slow to start though. The camera angle didn't work great for the controls either. We struggled a bit with that as well, it might have been a bit better to have the camera lined up with the ship or follow it's angle a bit perhaps. Just some thoughts, I did enjoy the core game though.

Ixcar'th by Zliebowitz 2021-05-02T19:56:17Z

This was an interesting game. I love existential space level threats so you got me there. A very creative name, not something I would have expected. You definitely got the deeper and deeper vibe going on, though some of the levels were a bit hard to navigate. I think a slightly smaller scale with maybe a little more challenge in traversal rather than just distance would be good. Also, I'm sure time was your main enemy here, but variety in the boss types would be good rather than just variations on the same thing. The portal boxes were a bit strange too, the hit box wasn't too easy to pin down and I just wanted to get close enough to not take damage and continually attack and I just found it annoying that with every attack I moved away from the cube a bit. Also next time make sure to include a new largest floppy disk ever, I'm expecting at least 2 terabytes or more. XD

T-Minus by michaelaranda 2021-04-27T02:19:05Z

Pretty fun, super difficult. Overall though I enjoyed my experience and could see it developing into something even more awesome!

Etherial Horizon by ZevsEHG 2021-05-01T00:38:14Z

It was really hard to tell what the minerals even looked like I was looking around some of the beginning astroids for a while with no luck. Finally when I ran into some later in the level I got the idea but calling it out or making the first one a lot easier to find so that people get the initial feel right off the bat would be good. How the gravity switches is awesome, but a bit disorienting for a platformer, going third person might have helped the camera move a bit more naturally. The bouncing element seemed a bit weird for the mood of the game, I think using a jet pack with refuel points/ just a limited use or something would have fit in a bit better. Not a bad entry at all, the atmosphere was pretty cool and the idea is fun. The overall set dressing though made it a bit hard to tell which asteroids were closer to others, this was only a problem when smaller rocks were involved, but again I think the third person camera would have helped to see what was actually close or further.

Drop.N3T by Dawnscream 2021-05-01T04:43:25Z

Damn, what a ride. Sick music, sick visuals, and really fun fast paced gameplay. I really loved the falling mechanic. I think if I could do it all over again I would make an entry married somewhere between the game my team did and this. I love how you go faster and faster. Though it was a bit hard to control the WASD side of things, felt too sluggish to really get where you needed to go and I relied on the jump a bit too much which really seems to slow the gameplay down. Finding a better balance would really put this game over the edge for me. I would pay money for that kinda stuff.

Kevin by Raphael Dias 2021-04-27T03:01:18Z

Overall I would say it's an interesting concept. You might want to practice writing for games, keep things clear concise and too the point especially toward the beginning. It felt like there were a lot of unnecessary details that didn't totally add to the mood. Art style was pretty good though and matched the tone of the work.

sp0rm by Derean 2021-04-29T18:18:08Z

Feels like if qwop wasn't a nightmare. I got a rough control over the course of a few minutes. Pretty fun idea on the controls and the art style fits well. Pretty silly concept and hits the theme pretty well. Thanks for the entry!

Screw it by Jasuse 2021-05-01T04:04:28Z

That was a hilarious game. Kind of stress relieving too. It looked like some of the screws were watching the driver/ hammer, it would have been cool if all of them did. Having some other sounds would be nice too, having the same scream every time got a little old.

Untitled Simulator by Eugenik 2021-05-01T06:50:18Z

The web page won't work, also cheating kinda sucks soooooo.

Deeper and Deeper into Outer Space by TheMightyTrout 2021-05-01T04:34:49Z

I feel like this is a bit out of date, I am a sucker for a decent retro game, but it looks like this needs some polish. The music was a bit too repetitive, but the back and forth dodging motion got me hooked. I was able to master the mechanics and get decently far. Staggering the asteroids and rotating them a bit so they feel more natural and random would be good.

Singularity Dive by JmO14 2021-05-01T04:27:06Z

I didn't really get the objective, I suppose what I mean to say is it didn't feel like I had a purpose to keep playing. Good graphics and compared to the game me and my team made you kept the player on screen a lot better with your constraints. The audio levels could have been a bit more kind on the ears, it was kinda loud right off. The song was pretty good and fit well to the vibe. Overall a great entry for LD48.

Down To Hell by IkerNoya 2021-04-29T18:56:49Z

Theme felt a bit like Doom meets brutal legend. Pretty fun, but the hit registration was all over the place. I couldn't tell when I did and didn't hit a monster, some went down with a shot from across the map while others would just take it at point blank. Also the health system was a bit hard to understand without experience. Movement has a fun idea behind it but would need to be refined a bit more. Great entry with a fun vibe, can't wait for your next entry.

PANEMUAN by etrealjunior 2021-05-02T19:41:44Z

I thought the moral implications of the story were pretty good, though they could have been executed a little bit better. The idea of becoming better and tuning out the haters so you can live up to your full potential really resonates with me, but the first level was pretty boring, I'm not sure if that is because the enemy didn't feel like it really gave me a sense of urgency or if it was just too slow paced. All it was is running and jumping there weren't any fall offs or anything. The second part where you see the memories was cute and played to the story well, but then randomly having the hole in the ground show up threw me out of the immersion not to mention going all the way back to the beginning and having to play through again to try again discouraged my engagement. Hope this is useful feedback!

Descension AI by Chrispy977 2021-04-27T02:23:37Z

@svyatozar thanks for the comment. We put some hard work in, but couldn't quite get them to feel right, additionally the camera angle could have been better suited to the control style. Thanks for the feedback though.

Descension AI by Chrispy977 2021-04-27T02:34:48Z

@syvatozar yeah, I don't know how much is fixable within our experience level, if we can get it figured out maybe. And of course after that good night's sleep.

Descension AI by Chrispy977 2021-04-27T13:24:47Z

@dom-de-re We used a pre made asset pack for most of the assets in the scene. Due to that we didn't feel right taking credit for the graphics completely. We really appreciate the compliment though.

Descension AI by Chrispy977 2021-04-27T17:31:21Z

@devastus Yeah we tried playing with the camera, in our final version we probably should have distanced the character a bit. There are a few times the enemies still shoot at you if you miss them. The cross hair is a pain point we recognize as well. Thanks for the feedback.

Descension AI by Chrispy977 2021-04-28T02:24:27Z

@david-wallett glad you enjoyed it. We didn't think of it in reference to starfox, but we'll take it as high praise. @nahuelito We were leaning toward making it more of a bullet hell, but as development went on we just ran out of time to play with some of the timing and finer mechanics and decided to stick with what we had so we could focus on other things. On both account good to know for future projects depending on how we want the game to be played.

Descension AI by Chrispy977 2021-04-29T17:43:49Z

@bodaciouslycrazy Thanks so much for the solid feedback!

Descension AI by Chrispy977 2021-05-01T01:08:27Z

@miej Yeah the bounding parameters got left til the end and then just didn't fit in the schedule, at first we were bound in by a closed environment, but then my level design kinda threw a wrench in the programmers design, better communication up front might have subverted this, a good lesson to take away.

Descension AI by Chrispy977 2021-05-11T01:22:48Z

Been watching some GMTK and had the same thought @deepnight. Thanks for the feedback.

After sign like 5 I was like yeah GTFO, I'm going to another forest. Pretty fun, I had a good time. Nice factoids about bamboo.

Deep in the ocean by xicoizquierdo 2021-04-27T14:33:46Z

Great entry, I thought there might be some submarine entries out there. I had a decent bit of fun trying to master the controls. I like how difficult it was to control where you were, pressing up made you go further than I thought it would at first. As a suggestion, have the screen get darker as you go "deeper". It really just felt like the sub was trying to stay in the same spot as fish invaded the space where the sub was. Also adding a bit of health instead of letting the player hit as many fish as they want would be good.

Surface Level by javi7 2021-05-02T19:58:49Z

What a fun game. I had a pretty good time trying to get good at this, but I wasn't very good at it in the end. It has been a long while since I've played a game boy game and this nailed that vibe on the head. I really enjoyed the work you put into this, the custom music, the funny tones. I don't think this worked toward the theme super well, but I still saw where you were coming from. Great work on creating an addictive game I wish I had on my phone.

Where's my dynoMITE? [LD48] by miej 2021-05-02T02:22:26Z

Overall it's pretty fun, love the basic mechanics. A bit more polish to the control and physics of both the helicopter and guy would go a long way. A solid ending screen would be a nice touch as well.

Archeomoleist by aniur 2021-05-01T04:51:33Z

I'm gonna be honest with you, I didn't have very much fun. The randomness of the move sets and how awkward they are too string makes this really too difficult to get into. I think you've made the entry curve a little too steep. I would suggest starting off a bit easier and then ramp up into harder levels with more randomness etc.

HELL deep is your love? by Villanelle 2021-05-02T20:06:46Z

This was a real challenge. I struggled with the camera speed above all else, either it was way too fast or too slow depending on the level. If it was a little dynamic where it would speed up slightly if I was ahead and slow down slightly that would be really good. I appreciated that the screen didn't represent the entire area where you could survive though. Landing on some out of sight ledges really saved my bacon a couple times. Having some kind of attack would be good in my eyes. I think there were too many enemies sometime and if I could attack just one of them it would have been enough to keep me moving forward.

Deepurr and Deepurr by deighta 2021-04-27T02:47:22Z

Fun idea, I like the idea of giving control across two different players. Makes it a real competition to trick the other person into going for your own yarn. A few upgrades to the control to make it a bit more intuitive, an update to the graphics and you could have an amazing couple game to just chill and have some fun competition with.

Escape into the Abyss by Raeino 2021-05-01T05:53:11Z

I had a pretty good time with this game. After a bit I got into a groove and it was very zen. I could see this being a successful mobile game type of deal. The sounds were somewhere between soothing and a bit too repetitive. Also getting started was a bit confusing the shaped seemed to be random how well they worked. All in all decent entry.

LD52 — Harvest

Tile King by MiltonNH25 2023-01-15T03:51:40Z

I really dig this strategy game play, doing a lot of math in my head to make sure all of my books are going to balance again in another 10 turns was a lot of fun. I hope to see more games like this from you. Honestly the biggest area for improvement would be look and feel. The audio could be better too, but for a jam I'm not complaining there at all. You are on the right path for sure, keep it up.

Tile King by MiltonNH25 2023-01-16T03:59:10Z

@martenscedric I would agree, a hexagonal grid system would be interesting, maybe a bit too settlers of catan, but otherwise it would make it more dynamic.

Harvest Mouse: Veggie Survivor by chelC 2023-01-11T04:47:47Z

Seemed like a really steep difficulty curve then I found a little nook in the top right where the veggies can only come in a line, could've made to to round 1000.

Overall a pretty fun mob shooter. Feels classic and arcady. Others have mentioned it, but gotta give props for the art, very cute and well put together other than a couple of seems, but they weren't too noticeable.

Would love some progression mechanics or maybe add a bit of stress by making me defend the house? Just some thoughts on possible additions.

Farmer Joe by ElmoEinstein 2023-01-10T03:40:48Z

Seems like we had similar concepts starting out. You definitely executed on the planting and harvesting side way better than my team did, but I think one thing you could borrow from our concept to add incentivization to keep growing plants and to min max is creating a leaderboard. You don't have to go as far as a live service like ours, but something to that nature would help to give people a reason to keep going. I do like the time limit, adds a lot to the temporary nature, you know it isn't going to go forever. Especially with a jam like this helps with rating a ton, lets me know exactly how long you want me to play your game for a standard experience. Overall a decent amount of fun, good graphics (though the tutorial is a bit hard to read), and concise experience. Great entry.

FERTILIZATION FRENZY by Nick Saulnier 2023-01-11T05:01:05Z

The overall vibe is chill. Just set up and let it run. Felt like I ran out of stuff to do about the same time the game started chugging in browser, might have to do with the number of projectiles on screen or something. I like the tower defense vibe without needing to set up for a particular path. Stays on theme pretty well, though maybe make it so the player has to do the harvesting? Just a thought, great entry overall.

Jumping Bean Harvester by therealjtgill 2023-01-10T03:18:27Z

Interesting experiment, felt like a lot of the frustrating simulators like Surgeon Simulator. Hard to control the beans and the truck. Super commendable project though, seems like you put in a ton of work to make it so systematic. Keep going at it.

Bean Farmer Extreme 2 by bytecauldron 2023-01-10T03:08:14Z

Fun stuff, high pace action shooting and crows. The combo I never knew I needed.

Pretty straight forward with the controls, thought at first I didn't realize I could go side to side. Fire rate once you got the 3 shot felt super slow and even after getting an upgrade for speed it didn't seem like it was shooting much faster at all. Combine that with the difficulty ramp and I got board pretty quick at that point since it felt like there was no way to kill all the birds.

Another sick addition though would be if the lines were a music sheet and if you matched the note playing in the music it would super power it (scope creep pretty hard there, but still would be super fun).

LD53 — Delivery

Sortcery by Theg 2023-05-03T18:47:37Z

Needs some music imo. Also maybe a bit slower ramp up. I didn't feel like I had any time to get my bearings. Like others have mentioned figuring out the rules is a little complex so maybe giving some really basic ones right at first and explaining what stamps to give them would help to get the player going. The scoring system would be good to explain as well, maybe just have a more basic count of correctly delivered packages and a demerit system for mistakes with a threshold of some kind. From there you have a really solid concept with legs.

Some Postman by jakelazaroff 2023-05-03T18:51:41Z

Overall I really like it. Fun arcade mechanics and easy to pick up and understand. Something I really appreciate in the Jam space is someone who respects the time of people rating. This is was a pleasure to play and rate and I may come back a few more times to see if I can get a perfect score.

Hamazon Waremouse by Hoshinu 2023-05-03T18:58:29Z

Cute style, decent music, and the gameplay loop was easy to understand and intuitive after looking at the controls. The scoring methodology and nrg was a bit frustrating, hard to know exactly how to be better at the game when there isn't a great feedback loop. Overall though I enjoyed my time playing a decent bit.

LD55 — Summoning

Puddle of Death by Shawn Beck 2024-04-18T23:18:43Z

This is pretty fun, feels more fleshed out than some stuff you can find on google play tbh. Great work. Biggest piece of feedback was it was a little hard to manage resources when I couldn't see what was up ahead so I didn't know what I needed and then I also couldn't easily tell the cost of different spawns.

Summoners Rift by Vilmantas 2024-04-18T23:08:08Z

A little too addictive if you ask me. These kinds of games just suck me right in not gonna lie.

Help of the Cthulhu by Jiri Hysek 2024-04-18T03:37:56Z

The mood and what I can only describe as "grit" is palpable. I really like the concept and who doesn't love a good Cthulu appearance. This is honestly the best way I've seen someone take this theme and make it something slightly different. I'm also a sucker for platformers. The puzzle elements seemed well thought out and I wasn't stuck on any particular part too long. If you went further on development you would need to do some serious play testing with a few different people, especially those unfamiliar with game dev, as some of the things I'm taking for granted here might not be so obvious to a regular player.

Shamans: saviors of the world by EasyLuckyGem 2024-04-18T02:50:03Z

There was a bit too much going on the screen at once to focus very well. Also there are some ways you could probably nudge or help the player get into the feel of the game. A thought I had was if the next input was relative to the last in the same way the keyboard was setup, having to look all over for keys that I don't normally have to think about orientation made me a bit uncomfortable as a gamer. UI looks awesome for having created it all during the jam.

Boots Of Summoning by detectiveLosos 2024-04-19T04:49:59Z

Balancing, like some others have mentioned, would be a good focus. The movement felt sluggish and weird for sure, but also kinda like Unreal tournament almost. Overall it was interesting in concept, but needs some more work for sure.

The Summoner's Apprentice by magus77 2024-04-18T04:15:35Z

I think you might have leaned into your mechanic a little too hard. Having items, runes, and a spell was a bit much. It would be fun to do some exploratory learning as the player, have something that a client wants and then I have like 2-3 attempts to do it with a little clue as to what kind of setup I'll need to accomplish it. Having it written out made it feel a bit like a walking sim but for summoning.

Sick of Summoning by cheesepencil 2024-04-18T03:48:50Z

Love the classic feel.

Summon Get It! by Chrispy977 2024-04-24T01:43:33Z

@rubixnoob13 There isn't a limit per day, but each summon has its own health bar, so if they are all dead except for one then you wouldn't be able to swap anymore.

Summon Get It! by Chrispy977 2024-04-24T02:50:22Z

@custodi I'm curious on your thoughts of how you might solve the issue, given of course you don't necessarily know exactly how it is currently set up. Might be interesting to compare and contrast solutions on our end for future projects.

Summon Get It! by Chrispy977 2024-04-27T16:25:25Z

@dovodx That is a really interesting idea, definitely would be an interesting variation on the game play we'll have to keep in mind for future projects or if we happen to continue.

@custodi our q and e is tied to swapping summons at the moment, but we didn't end up calling out. Honestly adding gamepad/ controller support would be good to have an alternative scheme too. Your solution makes sense though, definitely needs some play testing on something in that vein.

The Art of Pixel Summoning (TAPS) by DigiDuncan 2024-04-20T07:03:50Z

The level of complexity here is really interesting. Looking at the chart and seeing all the possible combinations is wild. Giving some better level of feedback to help the player gather more info about the fights would be good, or maybe some way to understand what kind of monster is before you. Very impressive for you first LD jam.

Mammon & Sons by HexStart 2024-04-18T22:48:11Z

Definitely a bit of a learning curve here, didn't quite get a winning strat, but I could see myself sinking some time here for sure.

Aphantasia by Bitlytic 2024-04-18T22:33:09Z

Great package, wish it was a bit longer to get more experience with the different abilities. Also felt a little hand holdy at the end there. I would love to figure it out on my own a bit more.

Tug Of Slime by Retrific 2024-04-18T02:38:03Z

I had a lot of fun with this. Honestly biggest feedback is that it has been done before, but I kinda like the spin with the wizard and the dueling nature. If it ain't broke don't fix it, and you did add a fun twist on the old model. Great submission.

HOUSE MAN by WhumpusWu 2024-04-19T03:14:19Z

Love the vibes of the game, pretty fun and definitely pretty funny.

Nightshroud by synthol 2024-04-18T03:45:56Z

Hard to pick up on how the controls work exactly, had to do a lot of trial and error before I figured it out. Pretty simple and very much scope controlled. Not bad at all.

Over Scoped by blank_3D 2024-04-18T03:26:52Z

Definitely need to give a little more hint or information with both successful and failed summons so I can figure out how to continue forward. Brute force isn't the most fun mechanic in the world, but the graphics are fun and the movement is dialed in really well for both the wizard and creatures.

SPELLBINDER by eugene-b 2024-04-18T03:09:37Z

Definitely need to polish the movement, but the concept is cool and I like where it is headed. Also controls and purpose isn't very intuitive in the game. Very stylized though.

Ink Summoner by Custodi 2024-04-18T23:42:02Z

Love the idea of the puzzles, but it was really finicky and hard to get through at some parts.

Summit of the Gods by magik8bal 2024-04-18T04:02:31Z

Feels kinda Titan souls like. I like it. Pretty easy to pick up and understand. Simple UI and the base concept wasn't too hard to grasp.
