Pretty solid game! I'd love to see some more indepth upgrades like maybe you take fall damage but you get a 3 way spread on your fire? Like pro/con upgrades, I think those always make for the most interesting upgrades

That first song isn't really great but the second one feels really fitting! Game play is solid and the style is for the most part coherent (though I'd prefer everything be either black or white rather than have color), but I don't really feel as if I have any control over how well I do and that death is almost a requirement to win this. Wish there was a way to make it more skill based if that makes sense

Had a few messups on the edges where the controls for moving up or down would stop working but other than that it was a very pretty game. I like that the whole "soul deposit" thing isn't brought up till later, it was a bit surprising to me! I like the way things were referred to as "friends" and such only to see the reaper take em all lmao

In any game with shooting, I suggest adding variance to the y position the "bullet" comes out at, it adds a lot of variety to shooting. Also adding alternate images for the "bullet" objects would make shooting even better. The game is super cute and I love the snail man! Overall all a very solid entry

Super cute! I can't say it was too innovative since it stuck very close to the roguelite genre and didn't branch off much. Plus, the theme didn't feel very prevalent in this.

Super solid entry for the jam, would've loved to see more interactions with the bombs (tossing, throwing, chucking, kicking, think bomberman) or some movement options from the player that also use the same resources to encourage interesting critical thinking situations? Overall super solid though! Hope you make more for this soon.

@michael-harris thank you very much, yeah there are holes in the generation due to some bad catches, the procgen code is actually very subpar.. but the results are great! I'll be cleaning that up postjam.

It was really fun watching you play it on stream and you'll probably like to find out that the procgen generates levels in under 1 second now, and doesn't have any flaws in letting you go out of bounds now! You'll definitely see this game when it becomes a full game, I'll be sure of it :)

Thank you VERY much @tengusheath , those are very very kind words. The pixel artists did a fantastic job creating and designing assets for the game, I'll try looking into making a web version but a new version of the game is being created and the game may enter full production soon!

Fantastic art, love tactics games! I streamed this game a little so here are some of thips I had from then:

The procgen needs to facilitate player options, alternate paths should be DIFFERENT, otherwise theres no point in having branching paths and it should be linear

Environmentals will immediately enhance any amount of tactics, when designing environments make sure they are both positive or negative depending on positioning or character class

Simply adding item pickups with different uses (shields, damage, healing) will give unique utility to characters who don't normally have them

Giving the mage several spells will also enhance the tactics if you do a bit more with the projectiles

I would suggest making some projectiles friendly fire, while others are projectiles that can go through friendly units, this way you can add some balance to your stronger spells and enhance the tactics of positioning.

Over all very impressive for the jam! Good job.

Pretty solid entry, physics could use some tweaking on the gravity and some of the enemies could use better tells on where they're going and what they're doing so the player doesn't have to juggle anticipating so many things based on memory timer alone

Fantastic artstyle! I really love that the boss has a unique song to, and the fact that it had an intro was really cool too! I'd love to see this game with more large background setpieces and programatically animated bits n bots, would've loved some more animations on the player as well, the player character is very endearing.

I really would've liked to more variety and maybe a bit more to do with your resources, when you're low on energy it doesn't feel like theres anything you can do and slowly dying with no hope of getting somewhere is a bit crushing! The movement feels nice and I like the feedback on breaking blocks though!

The jumping isn't really satisfying which is a bummer because the shovel swinging feels great! I would've loved more room to jump in the random generation with a more solid, controllable jump. I love the idea of the game screen looping. I wish the in game art was as awesome as some of the other art around here, the tiles could've been a bit less noisy to keep focus on the player and the enemies. Feedback on killing stuff is great too, so great job there. would love to see a bit more from this concept and see where you push it!

The visuals here are great! Very rarely do I find myself enjoying monochromatic aesthetics but this is done very well, I'd like to see more transitions between the screens though, because the one for the title is very nice.

I really love the little dwarf graphics, would've loved sooner instant gratification so I wasn't so discouraged to grab 100 iron in the beginning! Espescially after breaking one open and getting 1 to 3, I like the idea of this sort of thing.. and I really like the bat sound effect, very funny!
