Super well-done. Audio and art are great, aspect of trying to get the highest combo is also great. I didn't see where the theme was coming into play, in that health and souls are a separate thing, but otherwise its super good!

That was awesome! The level of polish in the art and UI was insane. The music was solid. I loved the pseudo-rougelike/puzzle style enemy movement. The fact that there's progression on top is just icing on the cake. This is a great game, let alone dare entry

tractorfarm 2019-04-30 02:22

This is actually super good. I could see myself playing this even if it wasn't Ludum Dare.

zan-kavcic 2019-04-30 02:28

nice, relaxing game but the ambience is superb!

lshiro 2019-04-30 02:31

The mechanics are cool, but take a while to figure out alone, a tutorial would be great! Otherwise, great game, didn't feel the time passing by while playing it, but a damage multiplier as an end of run reward would have been great as wellto push the grinding further.

aqws3 2019-04-30 03:10

Very well done game! I enjoyed a lot the tactical side of it, tho the player can get stuck if you move the stairs to a dead end with no way that I could tell to reset the level.

trifectuh 2019-04-30 03:26

Easily my favorite entry so far. Very awesome work. Wish I could move the wizard around with WASD and activate spells with 1-4, but everything else is perfect.

Thank you everyone for the fantastic comments! We've been playing a ton of entries as well and this Ludum Dare has been my favorite so far. Ghost and I are super proud of our work on this title. You guys are awesome!!! :)

liauj 2019-04-30 05:52

What an immense amount of polish. Your scope is absolutely perfect, and the game is really fun! Also would be nice to move with WASD or arrow keys instead of clicking.

Wow, just got stucked playing/tryharding your game for about an hour. Difficulty curve is well done, the mood is super cool. There should be a visual feedback though, whenever you got the room's key, I sometimes wasn't sure whether or not I got it. Had fun optimizing my paths, best entry for me so far !

jam373 2019-04-30 14:01

By far the most fun gameplay of all the entries I've played. Excited to see where you go with this, I can see it being a real hit!

dreadusa 2019-04-30 23:05

That first song isn't really great but the second one feels really fitting! Game play is solid and the style is for the most part coherent (though I'd prefer everything be either black or white rather than have color), but I don't really feel as if I have any control over how well I do and that death is almost a requirement to win this. Wish there was a way to make it more skill based if that makes sense

lamossus 2019-05-01 15:09

The best entry I played so far! Great music, nice visuals, interesting idea. The only flaw is that the game is a bit too easy once you figure it out. Other than that the game is amazing! Do you plan on doing a post-jam version?

lamossus 2019-05-01 15:12

@dreadusa the skill actually matters a lot. You don't even need upgrades that much. What you need to do is to use wands on wands. Then you can get some crazy value from items. My record was a 128 potion. Another useful thing to know is that blood pacts work on blood pacts, so if you manage to get blood pact of 30 or more it might be a good idea to wait until you have at least one more blood pact in hand

ghost-in-the-toast 2019-05-01 15:25

@lamossus Thanks for playing and enjoying the game! Yes I do plan on doing a post jam version with a few more items and monsters.

2019-05-02 00:00

@ghost-in-the-toast a few more? 👀

snowtv 2019-05-04 03:37

The tile mechanic is very innovative, when I moved the exit with me it almost feels like BABA is you in that you can sort of change the rules of the game itself (because most game will only fixed exits but this game you can actually move the exit).

mika-la-grand 2019-05-11 16:34

I got stuck on level 2 and couldn't restart the level with R, though I have just read on the page that you have to press tab. It would be nice if there is a tutorial in which you explain how the game works. The hints are a good addition, but it still wasn't clear to me how you can see which spider has the key and how the dragging of objects when you move mechanic works.

majadroid 2019-05-11 21:25

Cool relaxing game. I stuck once, because I did not have the key yet but dragged the exit behind me into a dead end.

jomiak 2019-05-12 03:13

This is honestly one of the best entries I have seen so far, everything is polished really well and the theme matches perfectly and the game play is well balanced, forcing the player to make difficult decisions. Please make this into a full game! In the meantime I will be replaying this amazing entry. But seriously though you have some real talent and you should pursue this concept past the 48 hour window that Ludum dare provided.

edevjogos 2019-05-12 03:36

Really fun game, the idea of consuming less health as you combo your kills, combined with the way the monsters follow you, made think a lot on the best ways to open the scenario and stack in a path as many foes possible.

One think though, i personally would prefer if after some levels you got the chance to shop, instead of having to die to get to it, it would feel a lot more gratifying having the chance to keeping pushing foward without dying than having to die to go further.

I saw your game on youtube first, this is a guy that's playing some games of the ludum dare, it's quite fun, when i saw your game i thought "ow! i wanna play this game!"

@edevjogos Thank you so much for showing me that youtube video. It made my entire day! And thanks for playing our game. All the support we've received from everyone has been astounding. :)

knatt 2019-10-27 16:13

Great puzzle game! This would make an awesome mobile game, you should consider developing it further :)

It was mentioned earlier, but Its worth pointing our again, I wish I could use arrow keys or WASD to move
