LD44 — Your life is currency

John's life Simulator by AerohandKetian 2019-04-30T03:32:49Z

Wish I can skip tutorial every replay.

Consume by ghost-in-the-toast 2019-05-04T03:37:10Z

The tile mechanic is very innovative, when I moved the exit with me it almost feels like BABA is you in that you can sort of change the rules of the game itself (because most game will only fixed exits but this game you can actually move the exit).

Blood Money by Dom Harris 2019-04-30T03:43:40Z

man i wish u provide options for volumn control and change resolution, my computer is wide-screen so i can't even see my stats... other than that, the sound is actually pretty nice.

Digital Gray by fusionnist 2019-05-04T03:26:58Z

This is one of the most polished I've played in this jam! The graphics is simple but stylish, especially the melee enemy's animation, really well done!

The soundtrack is also dope.

Overall very polished jam. Congratz!

wArshippers by giu.zcc 2019-05-01T02:05:49Z

OMG I wanna try this! Too bad I don't have friends :(

wArshippers by giu.zcc 2019-05-01T16:55:08Z

Great! Still has no friends :(

The Gold Digger by Jiri Hysek 2019-05-01T01:10:03Z

Game mechanics are introduced very good! Innovative mechanics that matches your theme (though I don't see how it relates to the jam's theme). The last level is actually challenging, took me a few restart to figure it out, I love it!

Shark Turf by Gus the Shark 2019-05-01T11:36:55Z

First of all, big thumb up for the theme!

The gameplay is solid and the fish animations&AI is good!

I didn't play hard mode because I'm afraid that mode is too "realistic" lol

Would be even better with sound!

Snots Quest by Lodugh 2019-05-01T02:41:21Z

The graphics is really good! You even got an intro! I don't like the "darken" effect though, make it so hard to see the traps.

Also the shop doesn't seem to work...

EXO by Firesplash Entertainment 2019-05-01T02:54:32Z

Good graphics and audio. Seems that my canon does not deal damage to the "tall" enemy.

Dusty by jvolonte 2019-05-04T03:08:39Z

Shooting is solid, but the recoil is a bit too much.

Project Slorgan: The Escape by CodeKoto 2019-05-01T01:27:42Z

I really wanna play the game when I read the description, sound's like a fun concept. But the itch link doesn't work :(

Project Slorgan: The Escape by CodeKoto 2019-05-04T15:05:30Z

@anion-z I saw the last update, and the game's tab is opened in my Chrome, I just need to take some rest between each games :)

Will definitely giving feedback once I've tried it!

Project Slorgan: The Escape by CodeKoto 2019-05-05T05:25:30Z

Ok... got score above 500...

It's definitely require a little multi-tasking skills, kinda remind me of Manual Samual. The platforming is really tight, sometimes it feels like there is no way to get around the traps without getting hurt (or maybe it's just I'm suck).

Life Force by SamuelDeboni 2019-05-01T02:36:09Z

This game is hard lol. Love the pixel art!

BloodVirus by Team-on 2019-05-01T01:34:57Z

Pathfinding looks a bit clunky, neat little RTS.

BloodVirus by Team-on 2019-05-01T02:27:52Z

@team-on Appreciate the effort! I was struggling with pathfinding too!

Money is Life by lilou_cormic 2019-04-30T04:00:51Z

This is really innovative, but I think your theme really should be "your currency if life" rather than "your life is currency". I still had fun none the less!

Cucumber by Uriel Bromberg 2019-04-30T04:06:35Z

I wish it is more clear that which platform is "activated". Also I don't see the theme... The game's premise is pretty good though.

Memories of a Captain by OwlyCode 2019-05-04T03:19:13Z

I just wish I can shoot!!!

Force of Nature by Griddolini 2019-04-30T04:27:26Z

Very polished for a jam game! Mechanics are not too new but solid.

Evoform by SnowTV 2019-04-30T12:17:21Z

@bramreth omg, sorry to hear about the crash! I'll look into it. Also, since I heard you made a bunch of clones, do you know that after each wave, you can select clones to “spend" them to upgrade your clone's abilities?

Evoform by SnowTV 2019-05-01T01:44:05Z

@maou Sorry that the reproducing mechanic is not explained clearly and the feedback is not obvious, or it might be a bug that I'm not aware of. If you have time can you explain your situation a bit more? Based on your comment I assume that during your reproducing phase, the game will just lock in the reproducing phase without advance to the "Player Turn" phase?

Evoform by SnowTV 2019-05-01T02:26:55Z

@deviant Hi, thanks for playing my game! Does this bug happen even for the first time you reproduce?

Evoform by SnowTV 2019-05-01T04:29:19Z

@lone-wolf Thank you so much for playing and help me identify the bug! I'll look into it tomorrow.

Evoform by SnowTV 2019-05-01T11:49:17Z

@weine Thanks for playing! I know I didn't left much time for fixing bugs during the jam, will fix the identified bugs ASAP! I'll let you know when I fixed more bugs :D

Evoform by SnowTV 2019-05-01T13:10:52Z

@team-on Thanks for playing!

@weine @lone-wolf @deviant @maou I think I fixed that annoying bug! Please play it again when you have time :D

Evoform by SnowTV 2019-05-04T14:54:27Z

@deviant Wow, I can't even past wave 3. I think right now the algorithm that decides the power of enemy in each wave has too much randomness in it and make it very easy to roll super powerful enemies. However, at least as the developer, I think there is a way to mitigate that because I know how the algorithm works. But it might be too hard to be figured out by other players. But I should definitely have thought more about the possible incomes when I design the algorithm, and I can improve it after the jam is finished.

If you want my hint and try to beat the game, please let me know, I'll give you the little secret that only I know right now

Evoform by SnowTV 2019-05-04T15:03:23Z

@reheated OMG you are the first player that I know who actually win the game! With the current very unbalanced enemy generation algorithm, it must be a struggle for you to win, but congratz man!

I definitely agree on all the problems that you pointed out, and I have to admit that I was not working super hard during the jam (talking about fixing bugs for 2 hours after the jam is finished). The game is definitely lacking a lot of QoL functions, as well as a lot of polish (literally no art and sound what so ever).

I am also aware of the UI problem, I think it has something to do with Unity's UI system, and I've encountered such problem in my past projects, too. I think whenever the UI appears, if you don't move your mouse around a little bit, the UI won't register the cursor's input. The default color for the buttons is not helping either, it's not easy to tell if a button is being hovered by the cursor or not.

But you still like my game and beat it! Seriously, thank you so much, it means a lot!

Evoform by SnowTV 2019-05-06T15:20:45Z

@bradur Thanks for playing my game!

I think the reason of the AI being so strong is because I didn't balance it well. TBH only thing I let the AI do is find the closest player unit and move towards it and attack if within range.

I fully agree that almost everything can be a lot more polished.

Evoform by SnowTV 2019-05-06T15:22:51Z

@freedompotatoes Thanks for playing!

Definitely agree that I should make the UX a lot better, and thanks for motivate me to keep working on it :D

Evoform by SnowTV 2019-05-09T12:23:53Z

@jdelaay025johnd1788 Thanks for playing!

Sorry the "power up" mechanic is not explained clearly. You cannot "upgrade" existing units, after you consume a clone to evolve an ability, your "new-born" clones will inherit the "evolved" status.

I hope that's the issue you are having, otherwise it's probably an actual bug that I have to look into :)

Hot Mess by aameliebernardd 2019-05-04T03:01:36Z

Mechanics is refreshing, and the theme is really fitting.

Movement sometimes feel glitchy though.

Mahou Shoujo Monster: Promised Fate by jadedResearcher 2019-05-01T03:03:55Z

I definitely get the M*doka reference here lol

Very nice graphics

The Price is People by Scofflaw Games 2019-04-30T04:30:33Z

High 5 lol

Vamp Ko. by Aleph Null Productions 2019-05-01T01:25:33Z

I agree that I didn't understand the compass at all...

Ludumkula by VaizAragorn 2019-05-01T01:59:08Z

Control is solid, graphics and audio are nice.

It's kinda annoying that you have to first go through the level to suck up blood and then go back to beginning to unlock the thing that can let you progress to next level, then go through the level again. All these without making any mistake.

Bloodcoin by Persegan 2019-05-03T11:48:47Z

Oh man, I don't know why mouse controls doesn't work for me...

Bloodcoin by Persegan 2019-05-04T03:10:26Z

@icebollero Yea man I tried Chrome and Edge, right click only worked the first time, the left click does not work at all, can't shoot any bullet. I guess it's not happening to everyone.

Bloodcoin by Persegan 2019-05-04T15:08:48Z

@icebollero No man, I'm on my desktop with keyboard & mouse. I noticed that when I was clicking faster, it seems like the cursor is selecting the WebGL element instead of clicking "inside" it (if that makes any sense). I also noticed this in my own game but my game respond to all my mouse inputs, and I had not have problems with other WebGL games, either. So this is definitely a weird case for me.

Bloodcoin by Persegan 2019-05-05T05:12:09Z

@icebollero OMG... I finally figured out... It's not your game's problem, I forgot to disable my mouse gesture app...

I think I didn't noticed the issue because other shooters are just using LMB to shoot, and to be honest I don't know why you designed it that the player have to hold down RMB to aim first then shoot, because I already know where my cursor is.

I'm still glad that I figured it out at last and played your game.

Bloodcoin by Persegan 2019-05-06T03:32:08Z

@macabeo For most twin-stick shooter I've experienced, they just show the cursor as the aiming to be default, because it's not like in FPS you can hold RMB to aim (and not even all FPS requires that). As long as you can aim with the cursor, I don't know why is it necessary to hold down RMB just to aim :)

Blood of My Enemies by Gargantus 2019-05-04T03:46:26Z

It has kind of "souls" game feelings as you have to wait for the enemy to attack then attack the enemy if you don't wanna get hurt.

The "spending blood" mechanic is a little bit different than most out there.

The shop UI can be a bit more detailed about what you are actually upgrading.

MONGR by minor_gods 2019-05-01T02:04:45Z

Concept is easy enough and graphics are charming.

It's kinda hard to keep track of all the requests, would be neat to have something like a side bar to keep track of quest and a cheat sheet for the synth craft.

Break Snake by Dobbermann2 2019-05-01T01:16:53Z

A fun twist to a classic concept.

My biggest complain is the control, would like a more traditional style control for this genre. The fast speed of the snake also make the control harder, I suggest gradually increase the move speed with higher score.

I can also see the possibility of a crate greater than your health appear right in front of your snake and causing an instant kill, which may upset some players.

InstaLifePlus by VoidAerun 2019-05-01T11:47:15Z

OMG this fits the jam theme so good! Your life = spend it for social media fame, it's even like real life! This really help those people who are addict to social media to re-think what they should "spend" their life on!

I always have a love for rhythem game, so that's another plus for me! I should've played it on mobile though.

I try to reply every text and in the meanwhile score as much as possible, I got the police arrested the dude ending, is that a good ending?

InstaLifePlus by VoidAerun 2019-05-01T15:01:17Z

@neakiir Yea I kinda guessed that based on some of the of the texts.

Kaide and the Bloody Sacrifices by Kritz 2019-04-30T03:48:32Z

Nice pixel art and hit feedback, love the screen shake.

My biggest complain is the shop, the number on the life bar is hard to see enough, and there is no feedback when you purchase the upgrade, it took me twice to figure out the shop is not bugged and I'm buying the upgrades properlly, but I just can't tell.

Olmec IT Better by WaveyDevDanny 2019-04-30T04:42:28Z

Man I bet all your efforts are put into the dope art and music, can't deny they are great! Gameplay and theme is pretty much meh... However the pink dude has a lot of characters in it, really like him!

Heart Sacrifice by Predrag 2019-04-30T04:01:56Z

The art looks really good though, I hope you fix your link soon!
