The tile mechanic is very innovative, when I moved the exit with me it almost feels like BABA is you in that you can sort of change the rules of the game itself (because most game will only fixed exits but this game you can actually move the exit).
man i wish u provide options for volumn control and change resolution, my computer is wide-screen so i can't even see my stats... other than that, the sound is actually pretty nice.
This is one of the most polished I've played in this jam! The graphics is simple but stylish, especially the melee enemy's animation, really well done!
The soundtrack is also dope.
Overall very polished jam. Congratz!
OMG I wanna try this! Too bad I don't have friends :(
Great! Still has no friends :(
Game mechanics are introduced very good! Innovative mechanics that matches your theme (though I don't see how it relates to the jam's theme). The last level is actually challenging, took me a few restart to figure it out, I love it!
First of all, big thumb up for the theme!
The gameplay is solid and the fish animations&AI is good!
I didn't play hard mode because I'm afraid that mode is too "realistic" lol
Would be even better with sound!
The graphics is really good! You even got an intro! I don't like the "darken" effect though, make it so hard to see the traps.
Also the shop doesn't seem to work...
Good graphics and audio. Seems that my canon does not deal damage to the "tall" enemy.
I really wanna play the game when I read the description, sound's like a fun concept. But the itch link doesn't work :(
@anion-z I saw the last update, and the game's tab is opened in my Chrome, I just need to take some rest between each games :)
Will definitely giving feedback once I've tried it!
Ok... got score above 500...
It's definitely require a little multi-tasking skills, kinda remind me of Manual Samual. The platforming is really tight, sometimes it feels like there is no way to get around the traps without getting hurt (or maybe it's just I'm suck).
This game is hard lol. Love the pixel art!
Pathfinding looks a bit clunky, neat little RTS.
@team-on Appreciate the effort! I was struggling with pathfinding too!
This is really innovative, but I think your theme really should be "your currency if life" rather than "your life is currency". I still had fun none the less!
I wish it is more clear that which platform is "activated". Also I don't see the theme... The game's premise is pretty good though.
I just wish I can shoot!!!
Very polished for a jam game! Mechanics are not too new but solid.
@maou Sorry that the reproducing mechanic is not explained clearly and the feedback is not obvious, or it might be a bug that I'm not aware of. If you have time can you explain your situation a bit more? Based on your comment I assume that during your reproducing phase, the game will just lock in the reproducing phase without advance to the "Player Turn" phase?
@deviant Wow, I can't even past wave 3. I think right now the algorithm that decides the power of enemy in each wave has too much randomness in it and make it very easy to roll super powerful enemies. However, at least as the developer, I think there is a way to mitigate that because I know how the algorithm works. But it might be too hard to be figured out by other players. But I should definitely have thought more about the possible incomes when I design the algorithm, and I can improve it after the jam is finished.
If you want my hint and try to beat the game, please let me know, I'll give you the little secret that only I know right now
@reheated OMG you are the first player that I know who actually win the game! With the current very unbalanced enemy generation algorithm, it must be a struggle for you to win, but congratz man!
I definitely agree on all the problems that you pointed out, and I have to admit that I was not working super hard during the jam (talking about fixing bugs for 2 hours after the jam is finished). The game is definitely lacking a lot of QoL functions, as well as a lot of polish (literally no art and sound what so ever).
I am also aware of the UI problem, I think it has something to do with Unity's UI system, and I've encountered such problem in my past projects, too. I think whenever the UI appears, if you don't move your mouse around a little bit, the UI won't register the cursor's input. The default color for the buttons is not helping either, it's not easy to tell if a button is being hovered by the cursor or not.
But you still like my game and beat it! Seriously, thank you so much, it means a lot!
@bradur Thanks for playing my game!
I think the reason of the AI being so strong is because I didn't balance it well. TBH only thing I let the AI do is find the closest player unit and move towards it and attack if within range.
I fully agree that almost everything can be a lot more polished.
@jdelaay025johnd1788 Thanks for playing!
Sorry the "power up" mechanic is not explained clearly. You cannot "upgrade" existing units, after you consume a clone to evolve an ability, your "new-born" clones will inherit the "evolved" status.
I hope that's the issue you are having, otherwise it's probably an actual bug that I have to look into :)
Mechanics is refreshing, and the theme is really fitting.
Movement sometimes feel glitchy though.
I definitely get the M*doka reference here lol
Very nice graphics
High 5 lol
I agree that I didn't understand the compass at all...
Control is solid, graphics and audio are nice.
It's kinda annoying that you have to first go through the level to suck up blood and then go back to beginning to unlock the thing that can let you progress to next level, then go through the level again. All these without making any mistake.
@icebollero No man, I'm on my desktop with keyboard & mouse. I noticed that when I was clicking faster, it seems like the cursor is selecting the WebGL element instead of clicking "inside" it (if that makes any sense). I also noticed this in my own game but my game respond to all my mouse inputs, and I had not have problems with other WebGL games, either. So this is definitely a weird case for me.
@icebollero OMG... I finally figured out... It's not your game's problem, I forgot to disable my mouse gesture app...
I think I didn't noticed the issue because other shooters are just using LMB to shoot, and to be honest I don't know why you designed it that the player have to hold down RMB to aim first then shoot, because I already know where my cursor is.
I'm still glad that I figured it out at last and played your game.
@macabeo For most twin-stick shooter I've experienced, they just show the cursor as the aiming to be default, because it's not like in FPS you can hold RMB to aim (and not even all FPS requires that). As long as you can aim with the cursor, I don't know why is it necessary to hold down RMB just to aim :)
It has kind of "souls" game feelings as you have to wait for the enemy to attack then attack the enemy if you don't wanna get hurt.
The "spending blood" mechanic is a little bit different than most out there.
The shop UI can be a bit more detailed about what you are actually upgrading.
Concept is easy enough and graphics are charming.
It's kinda hard to keep track of all the requests, would be neat to have something like a side bar to keep track of quest and a cheat sheet for the synth craft.
A fun twist to a classic concept.
My biggest complain is the control, would like a more traditional style control for this genre. The fast speed of the snake also make the control harder, I suggest gradually increase the move speed with higher score.
I can also see the possibility of a crate greater than your health appear right in front of your snake and causing an instant kill, which may upset some players.
OMG this fits the jam theme so good! Your life = spend it for social media fame, it's even like real life! This really help those people who are addict to social media to re-think what they should "spend" their life on!
I always have a love for rhythem game, so that's another plus for me! I should've played it on mobile though.
I try to reply every text and in the meanwhile score as much as possible, I got the police arrested the dude ending, is that a good ending?
@neakiir Yea I kinda guessed that based on some of the of the texts.
Nice pixel art and hit feedback, love the screen shake.
My biggest complain is the shop, the number on the life bar is hard to see enough, and there is no feedback when you purchase the upgrade, it took me twice to figure out the shop is not bugged and I'm buying the upgrades properlly, but I just can't tell.
Man I bet all your efforts are put into the dope art and music, can't deny they are great! Gameplay and theme is pretty much meh... However the pink dude has a lot of characters in it, really like him!
The art looks really good though, I hope you fix your link soon!
