Nice game and quite impressive for the time limit! The controls to build barracks etc felt a bit clunky at times though. I wasn't sure exactly how to build whether I had to click and drag, double click etc. I think that should be more clear. I tried pressing How to Play but the button didn't seem to do anything. Perhaps you could put the how to play on the menu straight away? That way people can get the gist and then get right into the game. You could even weave a short tutorial into the menu somehow

team-on 2019-04-30 18:16

@adam-clayden Thanks you for feedback! Mainly I use Red Alert 2 as inspiration source, at least for buildings menu.

ahmed-ali 2019-04-30 20:05

Great Game.......Nice quite impressive and good looking

phyro 2019-04-30 20:13

I've played it on chrome/HTML5 version and I can't figure out how to build and hire. I feel that I should be seeing something along the table at the right of the screen, but maybe what I should be looking at is offscreen? I see only the Hire and Build buttons there and that's all.

nerzal 2019-04-30 20:15

I couldn't figure out how to play. I could control the units, but don't build anything. Also the "how to play" button did nothing.

Still it looks neat :D Can't say much about the other things.

barbiche 2019-04-30 20:25

OK this is impressive. You guys are crazy to try doing a RTS in a jam ;) I like the idea, I like the potential, and I clearly played much more time that I thought I would x) There are some visibility and comprehension issues, that is really not a problem for a jam RTS, however for me the How to play button was broken so I really missed some information:) Anyway, keep going guys!

team-on 2019-04-30 20:35

@barbiche We are not first) My friend show me LD43 meme - https://twitter.com/snovagames/status/1086640051805667329

@nerza @phyro Play in fullscreen(HTML5 version), or use 1920x1080 resolution for standalone version. I dont kwon how to make adaptable UI, so it become completly broke in smaller resolution. Sorry for that(

plusminus 2019-04-30 21:02

nice idea, a lot of nice coding, but you need more tips and animations :)

fabian-pohl 2019-04-30 22:14

Controls felt weird: But overall a good entry that fits the topic. A better tutorial or explanation of the game would help.

inferture 2019-04-30 22:41

A RTS in a game jam ? I see you like challenges ^^ With the instruction I managed to protect the organs well enough and it was fun, but I did not understand what the blood pressure was exactly ? Is it game over it it goes below 0 ? (in that case, I actually lost xD)

team-on 2019-04-30 22:54

@inferture It should work like energy, eg you cant build if you havent energy and your units will die if enery below zero. But I hevent time to implement it.

@fabian-pohl Am I miss something in description?

neithernathan 2019-05-01 00:25

The game is kinda confusing, it lacks a little feedback. The game is OK, sometimes you can't understand what the unities do, i got kinda lost in this.

lukbebalduke 2019-05-01 00:26

Cool concept, I see that you really focused on the theme implementation and how it adapts the game visuals, mechanics and setting. I would just argue that a little bit more information about how every building works would be great!

Overall, solid and interesting work, keep it up :)

team-on 2019-05-01 00:33

@neithernathan @lukbebalduke ty for feedback! Ill update descriprion and explain what building do

isayneigh 2019-05-01 01:30

It definitely fits the theme! I think it's an interesting concept and given more time i'm sure it would've been even better. I think it would've benefited from some sort of auditory feedback, and I was a little confused most of the time. Building didn't seem to do anything (at least, I waited for a while and didn't see any visual feedback). Perhaps an issue with Unity's WebGL build and the quality of hosting itch.io provides, I know i've seen a lot of issues with local vs. hosted instances of my own game.

Overall I like the concept! Good job given the time limit.

sylvie 2019-05-01 01:31

Interesting idea, but I was confused about how to build things. After a while I realized that I had somehow built a lot of objects offscreen. I think maybe the game allows you to build underneath the UI and that's why it seemed like building didn't work sometimes?

snowtv 2019-05-01 01:34

Pathfinding looks a bit clunky, neat little RTS.

copper-aardvark-games 2019-05-01 01:41

really nice submission! I really enjoy games with mechanics like this.

norris-eldridge 2019-05-01 01:43

hmm seemed like some buttons for me were broken :/ not sure though, at least the how to play button was broken for sure. Perhaps I just didn't understand the build and hire buttons. The control of the units seemed okay though and I did like the graphics overall. It would have been nice to get some music and sounds in there but otherwise good work :)

team-on 2019-05-01 01:50

@all Thanks for feedback!

@isayneigh @sylvi To many people got confused with building. Ill try to make it clearer if I have free time. I have school finals in next 3 weeks

@snowtv I fix it untill last minute)

@copper-aardvark-games its not RTS, but I personally love this two: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/44/EXO https://lonelymoongames.itch.io/pit-king

team-on 2019-05-01 01:51

@norris-eldridge play fullscreen if you use HTML5 version. UI completly broke in smaller resolution

deviant 2019-05-01 02:01

Cool concept, I got swarmed by spartans in one playthrough but it didn't seem to matter since after the HP bar depleted to nothing I was still able to hire troops and since there were too many of them they died on impact, so I had to refresh. The second time I made about 20 walls and caused a lot of lag somehow by blocking off the route to the heart, probably because that messed with the pathfinding. Sending troops to what looked like the enemy bases didn't seem to have any effect.

don-shinski 2019-05-01 02:07

Pretty cool stuff! enjoyed it. I liked all the sprites you've made, and the concept is cool.

If you could darken the cooldown "greying out" effect on the build buttons, it might be clearer since some take a while to build. on the build tab the numbers represent a cost(?) but on the hire tab its a count of units in progress? that could be clearer. Thanks for the game!

snowtv 2019-05-01 02:27

@team-on Appreciate the effort! I was struggling with pathfinding too!

minibobbo 2019-05-01 02:57

Creating an RTS in three days is an impressive achievement! It played simply, but at first I was very confused. I thought I was playing as the Romans and wondering why I couldn't highlight anything or move around :)

Some feedback when the units were attaching each other would have been nice. But I really enjoyed the building and the way that you would build and place units. Very Command and Conquer like, or maybe old school Dune.

trevor-shoe 2019-05-01 03:49

Weird and fun :) The radial meters over the buildings are really hard to see, which makes the whole mechanic confusing. I prefer the starcraft model of place it and wait for construction in-world, personally, but that's a separate issue.

The enemies didn't seem to be attacking after a couple minutes, they were just getting close and then milling around.

Overall nice work!

douglima 2019-05-01 04:14

I really liked the fact that you are a virus. And deploying body parts was funny. It has some issues with performance but overall it could become a pretty fun game! Good job!

good-enough 2019-05-01 14:51

Lol, I loved the little roman guys! I played for a long time before finally quitting. There were so many objects on the screen that the frame rate was terrible.

Besides the frame rate issues, great game!

100th-coin 2019-05-01 14:56

Playing on HTML5, pressing the how to play button doesn't do anything. Interesting game though, nice take on the theme.

alex-kpojb 2019-05-01 17:06

Nice game for three days!!! Eyes dont do what I want from them from time to time. There are some frame rate issues, also. I like the idea. It has a potential. However it's really hard to implement a RTS game for three days, you are crazy man :D

kiddychris 2019-05-01 18:29

I didn't completely understand what I was doing during the game, but I really enjoyed placing body parts on the ground. So thanks for the tip with the full screen. BTW button How to play in the main menu seems unclickable. Anyway I wish you luck with finishing, it seems like a difficult project for which you simply didn't have enough time

long-as-python 2019-05-05 17:33

@don-shinski thanks for your comment. This is nfirst time I was drawing 2d so your comment is very important

2019-05-05 18:41

The 2D graphics are nice. It's sad that "how to play" button didn't work. Impressive for the time limit though. cool

long-as-python 2019-05-08 05:06

@alekc555 thanks for your comment. We will fix the ? button

yukey0 2019-05-11 14:44

I did not understand how to play and was a bit confused even after a few tries, but despite that the concept itself was cool, the art was pretty nice and it's a overall solid entry C: Nice work ^^b

mindfungus 2019-05-17 15:53

Wow I'm always blown away that people build RTS games in the jam. Seems like there is a lot going on here too but I did struggle to understand what to do. Digging the floating eyeballs though :)

also the "How To Play" button wasn't working for me.

anandhi 2019-05-21 10:24

The how to play button doesnt seem to work and i wasnt sure how to play but definitely looks like a fun game
