LD44 — Your life is currency

BOB by Phyro 2019-04-30T02:37:42Z

So sorry @logicon211 and @marcus-dubreuil , didn't know itch.io pages are created in draft mode. There you go now ;)

BOB by Phyro 2019-04-30T05:56:05Z

@shunaky It's indeed something weird, because we tested the game soundin the 3 available platforms and the speech sound is different in each and everyone of them, lol. Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated.

BOB by Phyro 2019-04-30T06:34:55Z

@adam-elaoud We are so happy that our game has accomplished this replay value to you and more people, that was our goal since the start. Glad to know that @mrpiedpiper also has enjoyed playing a few more times as well :) @synedraacus , Reigns was definetly a inspiration and a name brought up during the planning many times, maybe too much (?) lol

We've discussed mid-production about expose the other decision values to the player, but since the game wasn't planned for it since start we were out of time to do it. The game was designed to work just with the energy bar as a win-lose indicator, but we've found it more fun with the other values endings. We want so much to add more things, like achievements screen to track seen characters and endings, and the other values meters on screen, but it may be after the LD time, of course.

BOB by Phyro 2019-05-02T06:23:53Z

I think the genre deserves more attention as well, @nayaki-anandan, it's totally overlooked!

BOB by Phyro 2019-05-02T12:11:35Z

Thanks for the feedback you all! It's great to know the differences between every playthrough and how many tried it took to everyone to get to planet Bob's ending :P It helps to know if the balancing is on point! @kaisean-games that's a great idea and I should do a chart on this very page here, as there wasn't enough time to do the achievement screen in-game

BOB by Phyro 2019-05-03T01:14:51Z

@webow Thanks for the comment and yes, we definetly hope we can give this game the attention it deserves after the jam, we're very excited this time. If you'd like to replay, we've posted "how" to get the 10 achievements, without much spoiler, maybe you can give it a try ;) @wojciech me and @rodnasca are very passionate about the space setting, so much that our other ideas were nearly all of them in this setting, more or less, lol. Thanks for the dialog mention, I've invested several hours in it, but I really think that it was just because I'm not very used to write narratives :v I believe @kaisean-games was looking for the endings as well, as he commented well above.

BOB by Phyro 2019-05-03T13:22:46Z

@f1krazy Yes, we're from Brazil, actually, so the grammar and spelling should be more polished, indeed. Maybe, since it's just a quick fiz that does not move mechanics at all and stuff, we update it by this weekend, since other people mentioned it as well. The energy idea is pretty good and about other visible variables we agree with you and think that it would go against the game's premise that is leave the decisions to the player and do not "guide" him to a "right" direction. It's about the journey, anyway :)

BOB by Phyro 2019-05-06T04:50:10Z

@caveman54 @arron-fowler Thanks for the feedback and we're glad that the Android build looks fine for you, guys. We've tried our best to keep it good in desktop and android equally, with large buttons and stuff. @webox thanks for noticing the characters personality, and @avsc yes, we had many intentions over other narratives and stats we've left out of this jam version, but maybe we elaborate more on it in the future. Basically, the there are 2 alien narratives working right now, the refugees and the scientific alien that provides air treatment knowledge, and the unknown planet that once explored you meet an alien proposing to sacrifice people. But there aren't the art to make these differences clear and all, so maybe it feels kinda "random", I guess [?]. But thanks for noticing it!

BOB by Phyro 2019-05-06T16:03:22Z

@jin9310 I'll check your Bob out and review it too! lol Thanks for the feedback :)

BOB by Phyro 2019-05-10T20:43:03Z

Thanks @kuro and @mika-la-grand for the feedback. It's definetly a game genre that's not for everybody and stuff, but your feedback does matter in any way possible :) And about the fat guy, it's indeed a bug and should be the little kid to appear there, lol

Coinus Accumulus by djfariel 2019-04-30T20:56:16Z

I really love Katamari games so I'm pratically biased, but I was shocked to see there was a Katamari-like entry when I saw your postmortem post (which I will end the reading yet). I really like the idea and the plot, the intro cutscene was funny enough and algo a surprise to have an actually good voice over. But besides all of that, the gameplay was a little lacking to me as I think there should be more variety on the items I could gather, if there is a Katamari-like text box to show me what I rolled by, and the collisions were a little frustrating at times, as it seems that only the coin could stick things in. Eventhough, great idea and technical skills on the movement and shadders :)

Sword of Hearts by MSiddeek 2019-05-01T00:03:02Z

Great game and level design right here. The ending twist is awesome and sent shivers down my spine, to be honest. I just fest a little "unfair" [?] in some levels that the level required a certain level of reflexes from the player and the clunky movement didn't contribute to it very much. Great game overall :)

Deep Space Prospector by Roidz 2019-05-02T02:24:41Z

Very nice angame with great progression system. I've felt it very immersive since beggining and didn't find any bugs at all. Well polished as well, well done!

The Last Dragon by FlyingKiwi 2019-04-30T20:03:59Z

Cute is definetly the word here, characters and background make me wish they were more animated or had more interactions, since it's all very appealing to me. I've found some things that I would consider a bug, like sometimes the character stopping when placed above obstacles, and the stepping sfx resuming to play in the score screen, but that's just a little "picky" from me and that's intended. Great work from you all, nonetheless :)

The 7 Cents Deal by Probe31 2019-05-01T00:17:35Z

The cuttest and prettier game I've seen here so far, and the most difficult one, lol Even being horrorible at counting that fast I've played multiple times, just to keep hearing the on point soundtrack and SFX, and to still see cute cats. If I'd be veeeeery very picky, I would say that it's hard for me to tell the difference between the $ bag and the cents bag, but I think it's just me and because I'm under pressure and in need to do the math fast. Great job and congrats, very impressive!

BloodVirus by Team-on 2019-04-30T20:13:51Z

I've played it on chrome/HTML5 version and I can't figure out how to build and hire. I feel that I should be seeing something along the table at the right of the screen, but maybe what I should be looking at is offscreen? I see only the Hire and Build buttons there and that's all.

Snek Farm by t3nshi 2019-04-30T05:53:27Z

I have a hard time in the first minutes to figure out what to do, and then I've read everything again to get it right, lol. Great concept, loved the gameplay and the feeling on biting the plants/fruits is great, I couldn't stop harvesting to eat them in a straight line. Also loved the dirt path detail.

Sigillis by JUSTCAMH 2019-05-02T06:17:14Z

Very unique idea, with a mix in the theme + pattern recognition. Very relaxing, indeed. Impressive how the recognition works well even with a great variety of patterns.

Sigillis by JUSTCAMH 2019-05-02T12:15:10Z

@justcamh oh yeas, that would be awesome! Do you plan on writing a blog post about it?

p-p-p-Pew by 5n1p3r_4r73m1s 2019-04-30T05:00:30Z

The game crashes as soon as I click to play it on the itch.io page, also using Chrome here.

NecroBlood by Little Valhalla 2019-04-30T05:11:53Z

I loved the graphics and I wish I could see the sprites closer, I feel that there are many details I might miss. And I'd suggest any way to speed up and down the game, sometimes we're just waiting for the health bar to fill more and to see any battle result in the map, and these two things are a bit slow at first. Nice gameplay, btw, works like a charm.

LD45 — Start with nothing

Nobody's Journey by Phyro 2019-10-08T05:39:08Z

Thanks for the feedback @despdair, we think that too, about the more engaging elements, but some little things and ideas we just couldn'd make it in time. Very glad about the inovation too, much appreciated! @brallex very sorry for that, the Android download was hidden in the itch.io, but now it's there on the end of the page. Thanks for the heads up :)

Nobody's Journey by Phyro 2019-10-08T05:41:22Z

@despdair Actually we just noticed the build on the time you player had a bug with the victory verification, that's why it was weird. If you care to try once more, that would be nice too ;)

Nobody's Journey by Phyro 2019-10-08T16:33:10Z

@james-vagabond thank you for the feedback on the game's "lore", it was a neat idea from our game designer and it worked very well. @despdair We created the card mechanic in a way that it's very easy for anyone on the team to build new cards, that's how we managed to do it in time. I will post about it later. @ausstein sorry to hear that, the crashing was in some kind of "freeze" or it really closed the game? Do you remember what were you doing at the time? @brallex We will polish it after this month and input is clearly something to work on. Thank you very much! @emma-b We did it in a way that it's very easy to implement DLCs or Adventure packs, or something along this way. It's added on our board :) Thanks for the compliments!

Nobody's Journey by Phyro 2019-10-08T16:56:18Z

@ausstein Thanks, I think we've tracked the bug earlier, might be the same one

Nobody's Journey by Phyro 2019-10-09T23:03:55Z

@negator2vc Never heard of Desolate, will try it whenever I can. We tried to keep animations simple and as informative as we could! @cg-fred Many thanks! I will post about how me managed to create this amount of content in our mini-post-mortem, later today. @mattwagar Thank you! We tried to keep it visually simple so it could be easier to understand, since we knews it would become a little had to follow without an appropriate onboarding/tutorial.

Nobody's Journey by Phyro 2019-10-09T23:03:55Z

Somehow I duplicated my comment, oops :x:

Nobody's Journey by Phyro 2019-10-10T22:17:44Z

@kushimoto We plan to add some kind of visual feedback characteristic of the quest, or more info if touched in some way. Thanks for the idea and feedback! @justcamh @pestodesign We're looking for the bug and possibly we'll upload a fix today, thanks for the warning! @brokenmirrormedia @guilb Thanks for the compliments! We have other kinds of game modes on the future, such as complete X number of quests to win, or a better narrative along with the quests too. Thank you and we do love deckbuildings as well! :)

Nightwatch by Brallex 2019-10-09T23:00:06Z

Awesome and simple game idea, I wish we had more multiplayer games in LD! Keep up the good work :v:

Epic story of a nobody by The Osk 2019-10-10T22:24:20Z

I love decision games and the graphics were on point! Not that you didn't know it already, it's great :)

The Blue Girl by gamebuilder 2019-10-10T23:15:03Z

Creepy but charming all the way. Found the hand drawn pictures very moody and it wouldn't work in any other kind of game, I think. Didn't encounter any bugs in my playthrough and found it very easy to reach to the end. The narrative was on point and, since I met the blue girl on the hole and talked about the leap of faith, I was already guessing what would come next when I was climbing the stairs. Nice one!

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Boots & Booty by Ava Skoog 2021-05-02T17:47:37Z

It's definetly a Mood category game, but it's awesome in some many ways. I can see the game being quite nice just with the map and deep dive screen, but you pushed it over the top with the actual boat, sea, graphics and physics, with the awesome audio as well. Very nice for a relaxing time, loved it.

Bubble Diving by Lymze 2021-05-05T19:38:14Z

Solid game, really liked it. Nothing new or innovative, but it's so so so cute and well polished that makes me go back to it and give another try every now and then :) congrats!

There's Something Down There by Uraffululz 2021-05-02T20:44:51Z

Nice idea for the theme, but the technical part didn't let me go through for long. Liked the models and was wishing that player avatar had animations, like the sharks. The aim was the main issue, though. Cool enough for a one man jam!

Surinapiri - Suruvuori by kovalok 2021-05-02T17:36:36Z

Loved the art style that embraces the absurd, the audio part does take some part into it too. It's a solid nod to Duke Nukem games. The loading kinda does feel that it takes forever, or crashed, but I think something should be moving on the loading screen to don't push people away thinking it has crashed, lol. Many symbolism amont the funny and moody parts, nice!

Mafioso Incognito by pokii 2021-05-02T17:28:23Z

Simple and fun! Also, I agree with the comment about the UI size and contrast, it's kinda fuzzy sometimes. But solid game, congrats.
