I love the pixel art style and the music ! The controls are simple but it's hard to jump over obstacle. I like using of objects to speed up the dragon and to slow down the witch.

Survived 1 min 2 secs by spamming the jump key!
Art is king
Interesting concept, the delay on jumping is a bit rough, and I wish the dragon had a bit more animation.
Couldn't use the keyboard, had to use the mouse, and the jumping when releasing the mouse gives a weird sluggish feeling. The art is really good, I really like the pixel art, and the music is nice too ! I think with a few correction (keyboard input and mouse lag mainly), this could be a really nice game ;)
Great pixel art! I stopped whenever I landed on top of rocks and rocks which felt kind of strange, instead of slowing down or just passing over them. Good effort for 72 hours! Keep up the good work.
The art is amazing, could do without the slow speeds and ASMR audio
Great graphics, but the audio sounds like somebody eating stuff while on Skype.
I could also only jump with the mouse. Fix the jump button and I will really like it.
@shuu Thanks for the feedback! I agree that the dragon could've done with more animation. I ran out of time a bit, but it's probably best not to cut corners with the main character!
The art is great. Collision feels sometimes wonky though. Overall simple but enjoyable game.
Art is cool. Music too. Hard game x)
There are some bugs when you jump on an obstacle: you end up stuck on it until you jump again. Otherwise, you did a really good job with the art! And with the music as well, there is a good mood in the game :)
Ooooh, I love me some parallax effects, and this game has really great ones! Also the music is excellent, really chill and adds a lot to the game's atmosphere. Had a bit of trouble getting into this because the controls felt really unresponsive at times as though there was a delay between pressing the button and the character doing something, but with a bit of practice I finally got into a rhythm and managed to survive for longer than before. Not bad for a game made in a weekend, you clearly have some potential as a game developer and I hope that you will continue to improve your skills and level up irl.
The delay and the jump time are a bit too big, and the witch is a bit too fast. Imho you should be able to endlessly survive if you're good enough, and this doesn't look the case.
The visuals are very nice tho!
(Not really fitting the teme btw :P)
I like the art, it is pretty cute ! Maybe some more animations would have been great, but it is beautiful as it is ! Just one thing to say, the parallax effect is very strange, like the play zone moves slower than the first zone of the background. Don't know if it's clear, I don't have all the english terms, but it felt really weird. Other thing, the gameplay is cool, easy to understand, but I think it was a bit too random, sometimes you can't outrun the witch just because you did not have attacks to pickup. Overall a cool entry, I liked it, thanks for the game
It's alright.
Art and parallax were awesome
the jump seems a little unresponsive sometimes
Gameplay is cool, linear and clear, audio was into the mood
thanks for your work!
Cute is definetly the word here, characters and background make me wish they were more animated or had more interactions, since it's all very appealing to me. I've found some things that I would consider a bug, like sometimes the character stopping when placed above obstacles, and the stepping sfx resuming to play in the score screen, but that's just a little "picky" from me and that's intended. Great work from you all, nonetheless :)
As others already said: super lovely pixel art! As others said as well: very slow, sometimes edgy collision detection and funny parallax speed. Keep up the work!

good concept, great graphics!
^ Sorry, the comment section bugged, I didn't make all this comments on purpose and seems I can't delete them..
@pov can u fix this?
@saering Thanks for the great feedback! I would've loved to do more animations, needed to plan my time better  The parallax effect didn't turn out quite right - I think we should've made the first background layer go at the same speed, and maybe the front layer should've gone a bit faster.
@historymaker118 Thank you! The controls seem to be a bit laggy sometimes, I don't remember them being like that when we were playtesting (but I'm not one of the developers so I have no idea why it's happening )
@thevinter Thanks - I agree it could've fitted the theme more - the idea is that you're being hunted because of the value your life has. Sort of like a poacher or bounty-hunter scenario.
Song and Art are well done, some things in the game makes it not so friendly as it looks. Stop moving when above a obstacle don't feel right, as a cute runner game, I just want to jump and run in highs speeds.
The art is really beautiful. There is this bug: When you land on a rock you'll get stuck D: The idea behind the game is pretty good and the boosts do make sense and are well made but I think that the jump is a bit too slow and unprecise. Also I only survived around 39 sec because I don't get enough boosts. Also the game could really benefit from some more audio ^^ The parallax background looked really nice in my opinion. As a summary a great game, which maybe needs some balancing + audio ^^
Hello! Art is pretty cool, but it definitly was simple!
That is a really great parallax effect here! It contributes to create a real nice atmosphere, quite unique with this weird orange dragon in this creepy forest :) Also really good plus of thinking a game for mobile devices! It might just need a correction on the jumping mechanic as it feels a bit laggy, but great contribution.
I'm confused as people are talking about the music, but you opt out from this category, and there is no music... (at least on the html player). There is only the footstep sound, which make for a very creepy stalking feeling :) The graphics are cool though, it obviously lacks animation but the sprites and the paralax effect looks great. And as other have pointed out, only the mouse controls are wroking.
Great artwork!
i know i am not the first one who writes this but the pixel art you used is really cute! i like the parallax of the different tree backgrounds. the game mechanic and controlls are simple and easy to understand. everthing works fine. i hope the little dragon will make it ;)
A very nice looking auto-runner. For some reason, neither the up arrow or W keys work so I just used the mouse. The power-ups and power-downs are neat and I really love those character designs, really nice pixel art.
Great graphics and music, but the controls are very strange. It seems it only receives the event on the key or click up, not sure though...
Also I was very confused about being stopped by landing above the obstacles, not sure if it was intentional that the player gets slow.
Anyway, congrats on the game! :)
I can confirm the stopping on obstacles is a bug, we might get a fix in tomorrow for that. - as it detracts a lot from the game play, I think it's fair to bug fix that under the rules.
Thanks for the amazing feedback and support! Like you all, ludum dare is time challenging, and you have to only polish to a certain level and launch, but that means you do deliver which is great!
I think itchio is possibly cause of issues with input, it works perfectly fine in our browser window directly. I'll see if I link it directly
Great game, too bad the rock stops you if you stay on top, and the parallax effect is very off.
One minute is my record! Collisions are really strong.
Here is my playtest:
https://youtu.be/gZgBcP5Nf-M
I developed a fix for the landing on obstacles making the player stick to the top, however it causes the game to be significantly easier. To make the game payable for longer the level loading code needs to be smarter for performance reasons.... Which mean a small big fix.... Becomes quite large....
=( I'll see if I get time for another fix
@icxon amazing, great play through!
I've pushed a bugfix for the obstacles which improves playablity: Bugfixed version: https://s3-us-west-1.amazonaws.com/ludum-dare-44/master/index.html
Bugfix list: Allow player to land and continue running on obstacles. - added invisible playform 1 pixel high above each obstacle - minimising code changes required.
Nice artwork and graphics overall. The jump control seemed unresponsive sometimes though. Some music would also be nice
Cute artwork, I played the original version, so I found the game a little clunky, but fun - The jump fells weird, you might want to work a little bit on that - The purple bird that slows you down sometimes is impossible not to take it, maybe changing the possible height it can spawn will do the trick.
Congrats on the game ^^
Really nice game. I manage to get to the "end" when, after like 1.40 minutes the obstacles stop popping and the witch just slowly catched back the advance I had. the game finished after 2.02 minutes. Really cool art and effect. As said by @shunaky the jump might have a better physic with a better impulse force and greater gravity and the crow is only avoidable when very low and double jumping at maximum of the screen's height and that seems a bit unfair.
Appart from that, this is a really cool entry! Good job!
Thanks for the feedback, from both of you!
@shunaky We're aware of the issues around the bird, but changing that isn't a major bug so much as the obstacle tops so I feel its part of the quirks of the game due to it being a competition and you can't do everything perfect in that time.
@jin47 In fixing the obstacles, the game is now easier and to make it spawn more obstacles would need a smarter spawn algorithm (compared to spawn them all at the start which make mobile unplayable) perhaps I can add a few more without performance issues I saw when I doubled the level.
@shunaky can you explain a little more on the jump, is it the double jump, jump height, input lag, or jump on click or release for mobile or desktop? Just so I can see if there's a small improvement we can make
@flyingkiwi when someone jumps you jump like a parabola, on Earth you need to go really fast from the floor to archieve a good height, on your game it looked like I was in the moon, because the initial velocity and the downward acceleration were way too small..
It isn't anything game breaking, just something that confuses a bit and messes a bit with the timing (as you take longer than you expect to get over an obstacle)
Nice game! When I played the new version I had a bug once where the fire animation didn't occur but that's minor. also I found no bug that wasn't already reported on the old version.
Cute art, but the game was easy, even with the collision bug stated before. If you spam the jump key, you can go outside the screen, never see the dragon again, and never have to deal with the witch.
Make the game harder, center the camera on the dragon (or limit its movement within the screen), and you could transform your entry into an awesome game, you already have a good foundation 😃
Good job 🙂
A very beautiful game but with some bug. I am staying several stuck on trunks. Problem of collider without doubt. The variety of obstacles punctuate the race. Very good work ;)
The graphics in this game a really nice! However it's a bit jarring having hardly any audio in this game, which would give the player better feed back as to what is going on. For example using sound effects to warn the player that they're about to have a crow fly into their face!
Playing the bug fixed version, it appears as if the only audio that plays is the fire sound effect.
