LD42 — Running out of space

Running out of Graves by wasd 2018-08-15T11:30:32Z

Well that's actually pretty hard! But it's fun to play though, maybe I would have let more time to put out the fire, and sometimes I couldn't move diagonally while moving a dead body, but that wasn't this troublesome. Funny little game ! Great job :)

Blow the Hen Down by NickZangus 2018-08-14T20:39:48Z

The absurdity and the universe made me think of the Monkey Island games. I love the idea, it's well done, it's great to be able to use cannons and bombs, and throwing chicken is just funny at all :D Good job !

From Hell by bog13 2018-08-13T20:21:04Z

Funny little game ! Even if you raped my ears when I launched it XD I think the main problem is that you can't see where you're running, and you can see that it's a problem in the third level ("Violence", I think) because you have to choose the right way, but it's totally random. But the game restarts fast after deaths so it's not a game-breaker issue.

I also couldn't get out of the tutorial, I reached the end but I got stuck until the devil catch me and I had to reboot the application. Good job though :)

Where's my kingdom?! by Nufflee 2018-08-15T18:50:10Z

The idea is cool ! I like the fact that you can move, conquer, attack and everything, it feels like you're really doing something, not just running around. But it was pretty hard though, and I think it could have been much better with feedbacks like simple sounds or FX, to really know what's going on.

Pretty jam game overall :)

EVOLUTION by Noa Calice 2018-08-14T16:23:06Z

The best thing about this game is that it is very VERY polished. The idea is simple (which doesn't mean it's bad though :p), the gameplay is simple, but all the little details, the art, the atmosphere... well done Noa :)

MY SYSTEM IS GETTING HACKED by 0x0 2018-08-14T15:35:33Z

Cool game! The game feel is great, I just think it was a bit too difficult, but however the shooting is clean as hell and the post processing on your game is lit. Congrats!

Pats Pack by Landon 2018-08-15T14:51:18Z

That's pretty hard XD But I like it, and I mostly like the fact that there are a lot of feedbacks (particles, sounds, etc), it makes the whole thing really enjoyable to play and pretty addictive too :)

Maybe you could find a music that fits the game ? It would be great !

Vita Magicae by Anuke 2018-08-14T17:50:29Z

Funny and cute little game ! I had trouble playing since I got an azerty keyboard and I could not use arrow keys (please think of it next time XD). But it was an enjoyable game experience, and I especially like the graphics :)

Escape Alienation by neowhoru 2018-08-14T20:13:34Z

The game is funny to play, but it goes crazy veeery fast, there were so much enemies on screen that I couldn't see where I was, still, it didn't matter since I only had to spam space to grow the playground size.

However the thing I like is the amount of particles on screen, it felt great having those feedbacks, it felt like I was really destroying things and that's so cool!

Pop it! by LJay 2018-08-15T12:41:02Z

Pretty cute game ! I would have like some funny background music and maybe tell the player what he score was after he lost XD (even if we can see the highscore by playing again)

Oh yeeeah

Chill Daddy by guilhermesouza 2018-08-14T17:18:37Z

There's a huge lack of feedback, I never knew where I was aiming, and the grampus just killed me like that, I pressed 100 times my attacks but nothing happened. I think that's the bad point of the game, however, the audio is cool, I like the graphics and enjoyed seeing some famous buildings in the background :)

Cool game!

Recycling frenzy by Sharks 2018-08-14T14:31:15Z

It doesn't seem so but it's pretty hard haha ! But it felt cool to play. I didn't really like the way the boxes were coming and how they were supposed to be sorted, maybe I would have find this more funny if the bins were placed in the corners and the boxes were randomly falling from the sky or something like that. But that's only my personal opinion !

Great job dude :)

Darkest Shade Of Night by Bartosz 2018-08-15T15:06:30Z

It took me a moment to completely understand the controls, the gameplay etc, but at the end it was very cool! Feels polished, detailed, a great job for a 72 hours production. The work on lighting is great, the atmosphere, the mood are great, that was very cool to experience the game.

I simply think you should've made music transitions instead of doing a volume settings menu :p

Dumpotopia by DjeyCreations 2018-08-14T16:56:22Z

Good game, I don't really like this art style but that's just my personal opinion, this is well done and polished ! I think the gameplay is too simple, maybe there's a lack of gameplay mechanics (I know you can use power and dash but I could play without using them).

However this is cool jam game :D

Miss Eyesore by Filip Bergkvist 2018-08-16T14:50:02Z

Hi ! As a horror game amateur and for having myself worked on a horror game for this ludum dare I'll allow myself a detailed feedback !

First, the game is beautiful, there are only a few assets and textures (which is normal for a 72 hours production) but the lighting makes the job, it makes the environment stressful along with the sound effects of the alarm, the generators, etc... The only thing I would say about the sound design is that the music sounds more like a reflexion puzzle game. I, personally, prefer ambiant sound than music in horror games, but it doesn't bother me if there's one, however this one was not accurate in my opinion (though it didn't reduce the game quality !).

But after a few games I was almost lost, not completely understanding what I had to do and how. Even if the introduction texts give the game a little interesting storyline, I read it between the lines to be honest because I don't really want to play a horror game to read long texts. That's not really a bad point, that's my opinion, but maybe you could've gone a bit faster to the point, with less text ?

I eventually figured out how the game was working, and from that moment I could really enjoy it. Walking through the corridors is scary, the monster and the way he catches you is frightening, but the thing that's very terryfying is that he seems able to catch you from almost anywhere, so I had a feeling that the game over was kind of random. I know it's not, but sometimes (not often, just a few times) I was like "how the hell did I lose right now ??"

Also I like the use of the theme. When I realised the use of closing doors giving access to broken generators I was wowed by the idea, which is simple but perfectly fits the whole thing ! Good job on that. And one thing I would have not do, is showing Miss Eyesore in the main menu. Not knowing what the enemy looks like makes it even more scary :p

To conclude, this was a truly enjoyable experience, a very well ludum dare game, and a good little horror game that could be extended to become an incredible one ! And if my feedback is a bit hard, well this is simply because I liked the game and I think there's a potential (but don't worry I know making AAA-games in 3 days is hard haha) ! Great job to the team :)

Miss Eyesore by Filip Bergkvist 2018-08-16T17:58:58Z

Glad to hear that you're keeping on developing the game ! And thanks for this interesting answer !

I can indeed get why you decided to show the monster in the menu, I didn't think of that reason when I was giving you my feedback, but we can't forget that we're participating to an event where we eventually publish our games and try to attract as many people as possible to have reviews. But it's fine if you agree with my point haha

Hope I'll have the pleasure to play the game again once you're done with the updates ! :D

Mommy Hates Playday by Kciwsolb 2018-08-14T14:41:12Z

I like how they just run and randomly drop stuff. I wanted to suck up them and throw their face outside haha. The game is indeed pretty slow and there's a thing that I found disappointing : you can't throw things away by the windows. I really think the game would've been better if it was faster but you could a lot of ways to throw toys outside, this would have make the all game dynamic. However, that's a cute game and it felt good to try it out :)

Mommy Hates Playday by Kciwsolb 2018-08-14T15:33:24Z

@kciwsolb Oh okay my bad then, I actually managed to throw a toy out a window but without opening it (just by running into it) so I didn't think of using E ! :p

Space Out by Pusakiller 2018-08-14T14:11:25Z

Very cool! I like those kind of graphics with the paper background and the simple platforms/characters. Also the climb animation is GOLD It is just maybe a bit slow, and sometimes I think it would be great to be able to see further in the level. But anyway, good job :)

Space Creator by Zykroma 2018-08-14T14:19:54Z

That's indeed a relaxing game, cute and funny to play! It took me some time to fully understand what was going on (I have to admit I didn't completely read the rules but I never do so since I expect games to be easy to take in hand) but that was not a big issue.

Well done!

Cyber Janitor by Croosle 2018-08-14T20:00:29Z

This was a peaceful and relaxing game experience :) As it has been told more feedbacks would have been cool, also my camera got sometimes stuck when sticking to the big boxes, and it was sometimes hard seeing what I was doing (but I'll admit that must be what is happening in real life when carrying such big boxes haha).

Despite of this very little issues I like it !

Deep Down by Nyunesu 2018-08-14T15:46:57Z

That's the kind of games I like to play, just hard enough to require concentration but not impossible. Simple mechanics very well used, REALLY great graphics and audio, and nice use of the theme. I also like the fact that you allowed players to choose between 2 ways at the ends, it was a nice challenge, and it felt very rewarding doing them !

One of the best I've tried so far, bravo ! ;)

Loneliness by Saering 2018-08-13T20:35:49Z

Thanks a lot for your early feedback :) What do you mean by not being allowed to walk forwards ?

Loneliness by Saering 2018-08-13T22:54:01Z

We will make a very little update tomorrow to make the game more clear and avoid people getting stuck :) Hope you will try again when this will be done !

Loneliness by Saering 2018-08-13T23:05:37Z

@draluminium I guess that's because we are french and we made the game for AZERTY keyboards and not for QWERTY. I'm glad you can still play with arrow keys but I'll work on this issue !

Loneliness by Saering 2018-08-14T12:59:26Z

Thanks everyone :) @incinious @bredera @pacochan This will be fixed in a few moments, in case you were wondering this is because we use ZQSD controls in France haha

Loneliness by Saering 2018-08-14T13:58:47Z

@draluminium Normally it's fixed now ! Yeah that's a dumb mistake but the only people who tried my previous game had ZQSD keyboards so... XD and my first ludum dare game was playable with mouse haha

Loneliness by Saering 2018-08-14T17:13:18Z

@vphyre Yeah as I said in the description we were not inspired. Not an excuse though. We tried to follow the theme by spawning some walls that block the players, and reducing the floors size after each elevator :)

Loneliness by Saering 2018-08-14T21:07:37Z

@digitaldude555 @gurbx Yup, I already explained this, that we were not inspired and everything and we eventually managed to add some features to stick a bit to the theme (that were of course not enough). We ended up our production creating a horror game and not a "running out of space" game haha, which is indeed unfortunate.

I'm still glad you both liked the atmosphere and had a great experience !

Loneliness by Saering 2018-08-14T21:39:33Z

@donitz Thanks! Yes probably, as I explained in the description we didn't had time for optimization so the web version can sometimes slow down, and even the windows one actually but with less risk.

@metju Did you play on the web version ? I got the feeling that the web version has a higher mouse sensitivity but I don't really know why (not used to Unity web builds :p). I'm happy you liked the game!

Loneliness by Saering 2018-08-14T22:47:28Z

@frostbyte4k Sorry for the bug then, apparently you're the first one to have it. And yes you're right, we wanted to add some other things but we were short on time and that would be cheating adding new features after the 72 hours :p

@cedric-fey Thanks for playing and your feedback !

Loneliness by Saering 2018-08-15T14:53:49Z

@norrimo Doing it right now ! I'll tell you when it's done :)

Loneliness by Saering 2018-08-15T15:01:41Z

@norrimo Is it good now ?

@zephyrextreme Thanks a lot :)

Loneliness by Saering 2018-08-15T21:26:34Z

@wahooney Hi ! Thanks for the feedback !

We know the game is only a fear and walking simulator, however we didn't really had time to implement more gameplay. And I don't really think adding some objects to interact with or some storyline would have helped this much. It would've been better, but still, it would have been a slenderman-like.

We are probably not going to explore the Loneliness project, but we really want to create more horror games, with real gameplay features, interesting storyline... and of course more production time ! :p

Loneliness by Saering 2018-08-15T21:41:48Z

@annie-owl Thanks for playing and your feedback ! That's indeed why jumpscares are not this easy to implement haha. When we added and tried the first door, the rotation was in a wrong axis so the door opened by getting to the floor, and we found that so creepy that we thought of adding stuff like that but we finally didn't. Maybe we should have !

Loneliness by Saering 2018-08-16T13:32:45Z

@norrimo Hi! Thanks for playing and the detailed feedback !

I'm glad the game gave you a great horror feeling and reminded you of P.T., it was one of the game we thought of while working on the idea ! The walls appearing were also a way to stick to the theme by reducing the size of the environment the player can walk through, but we mainly used this mechanic to indeed guide him !

And sorry that you couldn't interact with more objects than doors haha! That's the main mistake we did and we will take note of that for our future horror games :)

Loneliness by Saering 2018-08-16T22:57:34Z

@julia-lundman Hi! I know what you mean haha ! Fun fact: during the jam we were working in a building where there were only the four of us, and we tried the game and heard the knocking sound, all of us looked at the room door and it was pretty stressful XD Making games and playing them is different !

Thank you for trying the game despite your fear, I appreciate this :p Hope your boyfriend will be brave enough to reach the end !

Loneliness by Saering 2018-08-17T12:16:52Z

@filip-bergkvist Thanks for trying to play then haha! You're right about the motion blur and the walking sound, and yes we put a loooot of effort into the graphics. Well I did not since I was working on the programming but all my 3 comrades worked on it and I'm glad of what they did !

@koala-squad We will check that when this will be available :)

@dimlight Thanks !

Loneliness by Saering 2018-08-17T22:37:03Z

@jamesolivermusic @simplepotential @badabooom63 @mza Thank you guys!

@koala-squad Just watched the part where you play our game! Thanks for that. It's sad that the dropbox link was down just when you decided to play it and right after you read the warning about the webGL build. However, when we tried the web version of the game, it ran pretty smoothly (the problems are simply missing shaders and frame rate wasn't this low), the game isn't optimized but it's still a little game, so I don't really know what it is running terribly on your computer :( Anyway, that's not your fault but ours haha!

Thanks for playing and for sharing us the video though ! We appreciate that :)

Quick Packer by Moo 2018-08-15T17:59:25Z

Funny game! Simple concept but not this easy to make, some physic collisions bugs made some objects go through walls but that's a part of the game so I dealt with it :p

Spaco by Johannimations 2018-08-14T17:30:37Z

The main issue of the game is that there are a lot of errors you could have easily avoid. First, you built a development build. Second, the UI is not correctly displayed (my health bar is on the middle on the screen, with a little offset to the left). Last but not least, when I reached what seemed to be the end of the level it still said "You failed". EDIT : I tried again and I could end the level, the final hitbox is just lower than I expected !

You said the artworks turned out good, which is great, but I think it would have been better if you tried a bit harder on the coding part even if it means spending less time doing the graphics. I'd rather play a well programmed ugly game than a beautiful bugged game :p

Still, the game is working, the ship is animated, the rocks are rotating... there are also good things and ideas ! Not being able to program well is an issue if you're working alone, so try to improve a bit your coding skills and I'm 100% sure you will make great games ! Keep on working and don't lose motivation ! :D

Spaco by Johannimations 2018-08-14T17:45:06Z

@johannimations While you keep motivation, you can only improve ! And do not be sorry for the errors, there are errors in every games, some of them are just more... game-breaker haha. And that's by doing errors you will improve ; on my ludum dare 42 entry I forgot to implement input for english keyboards ! Now that I did the error I won't do it another time !

I would recommand you to check these two youtube channels : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9Z1XWw1kmnvOOFsj6Bzy2g and https://www.youtube.com/user/Brackeys

They both do great videos and tutorials on Unity and programming in C#. Keep in mind that you don't need to have professional skills in programming to do nice games ! Most of the time the basics are enough if you know how to use them :)

Storage Madness by rangoiv 2018-08-14T21:50:03Z

I got scared by Google Chrome.

It was nice to play, I really like the graphics and the feedbacks, they're great, the only thing I would say is bad is the fire rate. But that's not a big issue :)

Mindlapse by Vulture_42 2018-08-15T14:48:04Z

To be honest I don't really like this kind of art, but it fits very well the game and the atmosphere. Same for audio, it's well done and it gives the all thing a creepy/mysterious feeling and it's great.

I found the gameplay a bit too slow, but I like nervous and dynamic gameplays usually, so I'm not saying that it's bad, just my personal opinion. It also lacks feedbacks and details, maybe an idle animation, some camera shaking on taking damages or kills, some building particles. I know it take some time to add, and the spirit of jams is to have a short amount of time, but I think you can't ignore details.

Overall this is a very good game ! Had a good moment playing it ! Good job :)

No Place To Die by ZephyrExtreme 2018-08-15T15:00:03Z

Felt some Saints Row vibes haha, reminded of the dubstep gun.

The movement was quite difficult to master, since the player moves depending of its own forward vector and not the world space vector, so you always have to check where your player is aiming to know how to move, or use the mouse to shoot somewhere... anyway, this was the bad point in my opinion but it's okay, it didn't make the game not enjoyable.

Liked the graphics and feedback too ! It was shaking a bit too much but that was great !

Stacy The Muscle by Alexey Tarabrin 2018-08-15T14:40:21Z

Funny little game! I liked the design of the barbarian XD I died because I got stuck :( The only little think I would say is to reduce a bit the sword volume, the "swoosh" sound gets annoying after a few minutes, but that's all !

Cluster by Ignacio Zamorano 2018-08-14T13:57:12Z

Feels really polished! Simple but smart use of theme, cool graphics, cool sounds! Doesn't really know why there is a creepy guy in the background but it's not a game issue so... whatever ! Good job :)

7:30 am by matzetoni 2018-08-14T14:04:29Z

I tried to launch the game 5 times and it always crashed :( apparently that's an issue nobody has - which is great - but I feel sad, I wanted to try XD any idea of the reason?

7:30 am by matzetoni 2018-08-14T14:12:54Z

@mrhankey Windows 64! Don't worry, if I'm the only one having the problem it must not be a serious issue :) I simply wanted you to know, in case you had an idea !

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

The Questiest Quest of the Intertwined Feast by Stending 2018-12-10T09:44:35Z

Funny game! I enjoyed playing it and I liked the mechanic of choosing between every duel ! The atmosphere of the game is strange but it is pretty unique, so I'd say this is overall a great entry :)

Rogues Like Beer by NickZangus 2018-12-05T13:15:24Z

Good puzzle game, good graphics, good level design, great audio (even if it raped my ears on start), it's a SOLID 5 stars on each category for me (not kidding, I really loved playing the game and I'm sad there were not more levels). Do you plan on creating more ?

Night's End by glimaleite 2018-12-05T13:49:14Z

Clean game! Cleaner when you know it's a compo haha. I really like the atmosphere, the story and everything, it all gave the game a really nice mood. I felt like the gameplay was a little bit slow and maybe too linear, but otherwise I liked playing it and I'll be happy playing your next games!

Fallen Girl by fullmontis 2018-12-06T09:41:33Z

Too hard in my opinion, but overall it was pretty good! You should have implemented a restart function, I know you said you didn't have time but it's too important in such a game. Otherwise, I love the graphics and the atmosphere!

Chicken Smash by assimby 2018-12-05T13:56:34Z

Had some trouble getting used to te control but overall the game was fun to play! :)

Please Player by Noa Calice 2018-12-06T10:11:19Z

Nice game, always funny to make things explode and to see blood haha :p

Domino Sanctus Spiritus by shiitman 2018-12-05T14:36:15Z

Well I won on first try but I didn't know what I did haha. Still, I love the graphics and the atmosphere, I'd 100% play a card game or something in such a nice ambiance !

Icu Cut by RokKos 2018-12-06T09:37:24Z

I like the concept, it is pretty innovative but I think the controls are too hard to get used to and the game lacks feedbacks too much! Overall a good entry :)

Volcano Island by Arvejeitor 2018-12-05T14:16:02Z

It was cute despite the volcano ready to annihilate everything just by anger haha! I sometimes couldn't click on characters but it was cool to play!

Abortion Boy by Saering 2018-12-04T20:26:28Z

Thanks everyone for the feedbacks! We'll try out your games as soon as possible :)

Abortion Boy by Saering 2018-12-05T10:21:15Z

@morg Hi! Saw you playing our game on stream. I'm glad it made you laugh but you were actually not supposed to be this fast haha, we're probably going to fix this because it happens a lot! :p

Abortion Boy by Saering 2018-12-05T14:53:59Z

@mike-mihe Glad you did! Thanks for reading them

Abortion Boy by Saering 2018-12-06T23:07:43Z

Thank you guys! I'm glad the game made you laugh, that was the point :) @twisted-hive Thanks for playing it live, we always appreciate watching people play our game :D

Abortion Boy by Saering 2018-12-08T22:23:56Z

@pablodap Hi! Thanks a lot for playing the game and trying multiple times despite the fact you had what seems to be a bug. Many people played the game and the controller's movement speed seems to change from one computer to another, which is a curious issue and I have no clue why it does that... but it does, sadly!

I really appreciate that you took the time to give me your opinion though!

Abortion Boy by Saering 2018-12-09T12:04:47Z

@almax Thanks a lot !

Well I did consider the delta time, but I'm trying to think I did it wrong somewhere in one of my scripts, so you must be right about that haha

Otherwise I'm glad you liked the game and the involvement we put in it ! And yes, we should have thought of some land marks instead of making bones, rocks and dead bodies I guess

Ascend by Amour Du Pain 2018-12-06T09:34:59Z

Interesting experience but I really can't see how it is related to the theme. But it's not a problem as long as the game is good and I liked the visuals and the chill vibe

Cowboy Hell by dk5000p 2018-12-07T20:32:14Z

I think that the game lacks feedback and is a bit too static, like nothing special happens on the screen. But one thing that I really like is that it feels like you had a good moment doing it and it can felt with the voice acting haha :p nice entry!

They are coming. by mosaic 2018-12-08T16:22:32Z

I truly liked the atmosphere of the game, the sounds, the music, the colors, well done! Also the mechanic of slicing and changing the size, strength, etc of the sword is pretty clever, and suits the theme pretty well.

In my opinion the bad point of your game is that it is waaaaay too easy and there's no point. I know you've said that the game wasn't just about killing zombies, but it lacks feedbacks or a clear written objective on screen. Otherwise, that's a nice entry and I enjoyed playing your game! Thank you

somewhere in the woods by EmCannon 2018-12-10T16:42:36Z

I have to say it was pretty annoying not being able to click on menu buttons. It's not related to the core gameplay but I was already bored before I played :/ otherwise the game was cool, I just didn't play it much since it is too repetitive and, in my opinion, a bit too easy! But cool entry overall!

Cheela by Shakedimus 2018-12-13T18:09:55Z

I think the worst point of your game is that it is very slow and it has 0 polish, like there are no feedback, you don't know what's going on (at least before playing a bit, but it's a problem). I can see what kind of games you wanted to make and the idea is, I think, actually interesting and could make something great! But it would need a lot of polish overall.

The art and the audio didn't help, but as it has been mentioned before, I don't really mind that since the problem focuses on the gameplay.

However, it is still a working game and it is a really great thing that you participated to the LD! All the feedbacks aren't there to discourage you but to help you make better games, and I'll look forward for the next ones :D

Fight For Your Light by Raivk 2018-12-05T13:40:00Z

It was fun playing, but it took me a too long moment to get used to the controls! The camera is pretty hard to get used to, too. Despite of that this is a great game and the graphics are super cool! Also, I would avoid too much text in menus, it's not really appealing !

Gorth by Gamers Blood Entertainment 2018-12-05T13:31:52Z

A bit annoying that you cant skip the intro haha, but however this was a pretty clean game! I liked to play it even if I sucked at it haha

I didn't get what I had to do and it took me a too long time to figure out but otherwise the game was cool!

Ethical Smoothies Co. by kypello 2018-12-07T20:35:16Z

Feels bad sacrificing a worker haha! To be perfectly honest this is not a genre of game I like to play, but I had a cool moment testing out your game and I loved the audio atmosphere btw

Pretty good mood! I liked this entry, was kind of an experience!

Skele-TON Adventure 💀 by PlugWorldG 2018-12-04T13:59:39Z

I have to admit the game was fun to play but I didn't really get what I had to do, and I felt like the enemies were too hard to beat at stage 3 and sometimes blocked me so I coudln't even move. Cute little pixel art game though!

Explosive Sacrifice by Cute Dog IRL 2018-12-05T12:58:13Z

Didn't get what I had to do at first, so I came here to read a bit more about the game and then I could play and I had a good moment, it was pretty fun! I would say that the characters slides too much, I can understand why the controls are hard while he's dead, but when you're alive you're not supposed to struggle this much to move haha Good job!

Lighter Than Air by simon.parzer 2018-12-06T08:32:43Z

Funny little game, I would have liked if there were a bit more things to do but I was not disappointed, overall it was really great to play!

I found the puzzles pretty easy, to be honest haha but I'm used to this kind of games, I like them a lot and you did a great one! I also love the desktop, the chat system, the entry points thing, it is not something extraordinary, but it actually adds something very interesting to the game, and without that it would not have been the same. Plus, it is overall polished and has a great feeling! That's a great entry!

My precious life by Erkberg 2019-05-03T18:16:23Z

Went from the cutest possible game to the saddest story ever. This red bag with the pink ribbon killed me. The game is brutal but very well done, congrats!

JUNO by DeathBySnail 2019-04-30T12:18:48Z

Funny entry! I like the fact that it seems you can't break the game, like spamming the fire key while rotating, or just fire in a straight line to destroy all incoming asteroids. Great feeling, nice music, cool art, good job!

Scooter Looter by bluescrn 2019-04-30T21:05:55Z

Nothing to say except the camera movement and some collisions were a bit tricky. Otherwise, well this is what I'd call a perfect ludum dare game, polished, funny, beautiful, with a nice humor touch (Robbin' the hood, or the death sound and animation, those made me laugh haha). I'm glad you shared me your game, I had a good moment playing it and I'll share it to my friends ;)

Dave the dev by Linus 2019-04-29T19:13:14Z

Well, as the image says, it's "something" xD It was fun to play, I did not expect an ending like this, I was going for a more serious adventure, but it made me laugh ! I like the voice acting, it brings muuuch more sense to the storyline of Dave the dev, which is by the way the best possible name for a game

SubMoney by hbocao 2019-05-01T15:32:23Z

This is one talented banjo player haha

The game is really chill, the artstyle suits it very well, and the music choices is great. I just do not really feel the theme in the gameplay. I see how it is related in the storyline (the broke person who uses his lifetime to make money) but the gameplay is "just" a rythm game

Nice entry, I liked playing it!

Blood Currency by theviraldragon 2019-04-29T14:07:40Z

This was a chill game ! I liked it, simple but working graphics, just one thing :

bloodcurrencybug.jpg

This bug was pretty boring but otherwise it was cool to play!

And Then There Was One by one-seed-fruit 2019-05-02T16:58:58Z

Could you explain a bit your game ? I want to try it but I have no clue what I'm supposed to do :c

And Then There Was One by one-seed-fruit 2019-05-02T17:30:18Z

Okay I think I managed to play a bit, but honestly even with those explanations it is hard to understand. Those are not easy rules, and they are not intuitive, so right there you should add a tutorial in your game to make sure the player does not quit just because he's lost. I'm not going to rate about fun or innovation since I did not fully play the game because of that.

However, I love the art, I think it is very cool ! Maybe the whole screen is moving a bit too much, and with such colors it can bring headache really fast, but the style is very nice !

HeartShooter by ginger9 2019-04-29T16:47:00Z

There should be a rule that force people to add the ZQSD inputs for french keyboards haha. Took me some minutes to get used to the WASD controls, also I found it strange to shoot with right click and use the special dash with left click.

But once I got used to the controls it was fun to play ! The art is great, very simple but beautiful (and that's the most important), the feeling is cool but I'd have probably make the game pace faster. I didn't especially enjoy the sounds but it did not bother me, it is a good entry ! Thank you :)

Aether Blade by neverautomatic 2019-04-29T16:57:47Z

Nice little game ! Actually the worst thing about it that you did not add the ZQSD buttons for french keyboards, so I tried playing with arrows but it made my web page scroll so I had to get used to WASD. Otherwise it is fun to play, I like the mechanic of the attack even if I think it is a bit hard, and in my opinion, with some polish and more feedbacks the game can become better ! But it already is cool, so good job :)

The Day Of The Chosen by sahoskins1 2019-05-02T19:24:02Z

This is well written. That what kept me continuing, because I didn't feel any game in this, like you don't really have options, most of the time it's just "run of fight", or just click on some action to go on. There are multiple endings, but it is really long to get to the few moments you have a real choice to make though, I must admit I did play only one time. However the story is really cool!

I got surprised when I saw my health points for the first time. It really got me out of the immersion, I was living a story, thinking about what was happening, imagining some environment in my head, and then you came with some video game statistics I never expected to be here. Not sure about that, it really broke the immersion and you could've simply write something like "you got hurt". That is the worst point of the game, it's really immersive but suddenly this comes and destroys the nice build up...

That's what I wanted to say, but keep in mind that text games aren't not my favorite genre, so my feedback might be pretty harsh but it's only my personal opinion ! I liked the story and the colors and font, simple but very efficient ! Maybe some audio could help ? No music, but some atmospheric sound ?

Worked to Death by ronin748 2019-04-30T09:53:27Z

The game is actually fun! I think the problem is mainly about the controls, the character jumps way too high, there's a very low gravity, it would have been better to rotate with the mouse, it's pretty strange to move with ZQSD/WASD and rotate with arrows, but it's easy to get used to. Maybe help the level visibility, it was a bit dark, I did not know where to go sometimes, and globaly I did not know exactly what I had to do. It was written, but I don't like it when I have to read lot of rules, I'd rather play and find by myself what to do.

But overall I really liked playing it, it's a cool game !

Soul Surge by Brackeys 2019-04-30T12:57:57Z

Cool game, I think the attack is a bit too hard to control, you need to get so close to the enemy you just end up running, attacking and hope it will hit, running, attacking... otherwise the game is cool and I like the idea !

Super I-Egg by gilborn 2019-04-30T12:44:43Z

Funny game, the main issue is that it is reaaaaally slow. Also fire doesn't seem to kill you, and you easily get stuck to the walls. Maybe add more feedbacks and sounds, but overall this is a good entry! Funny to see how we had the same idea of sacrificing health for upgrades but we did not make games of the same genre haha

Developer Story by KonH 2019-04-30T10:08:10Z

Nice little game, was interesting to play even if I did not understand everything I had to do ! I explored the internet a lot haha, no gym for me ! And I died at 16

Choice of Life by victorcrafty 2019-04-30T21:09:46Z

Not gonna lie, I'm not a big fan of the art. However, this is a very smart use of the theme, and I quickly forgot the graphics since the game is very well made and clever! Interesting entry, good job!

Generation: Why?! by LeFayGames 2019-05-01T10:50:35Z

The game is funny but I would like a more exaggerated game, to really show the absurdity of social image on Instagram. I did not really feel like an instagirl, just some random girl walking in the street taking pictures, so maybe add more stupid sounds, a more pretentious character, accentuate the humor of the game!

Overall it was cool despite the pretty buggy 2D physics ! +1 point for "Starsucks"

Seaway by Constantin 2019-04-30T15:59:15Z

It is as chill as it is pretty!

Monolith by jsec 2019-04-29T15:43:41Z

The game is cool ! I had fun playing, it, but I feel like it could have much more nervosity and epicness. The art is simple but it's working well, the movements are good too, I was afraid of the controls because I saw a sliding ship coming but it was easy to get used to ! Also, is it me or you cannot skip the intro sequence ? Good entry overall!

Orcan Harvest by Mathstr0fficial 2019-04-30T20:51:00Z

"Your life is currency", well I think you cannot be as much in the theme than you did haha. The game is funny, a bit scary actually, there's no music, it is pretty dark, and the face of the orc is creepy, but it's not bad at all! Maybe make it a bit clearer, more feedbacks, some dialogues to give some life to the game, and it would be a bit better! But it is a great entry overall, I liked it!

Orcan Harvest by Mathstr0fficial 2019-05-01T09:51:32Z

@mathstr0fficial No music :) the orc's dullness is not a problem, it suits the character well in my opinion, I would have just work on this to make it exaggerated and funny !

Life by Marc Grabow 2019-04-29T12:09:14Z

Hi! Sweet little game, I like the camera angle and the way you run through 2D assets in a 3D world ! I think the main issue is the control, they maybe should be more nervous. Otherwise I like the idea and the game is actually fun!

The Trafficker by Enver Arco 2019-04-30T20:07:32Z

Did not know exactly what to do, too many characters to remember on start so I tried by myself and I laughed at the voice acting xD great job on that! The game is funny, the art is cool, colors are nice, characters are funny, the music is very good too! Maybe more feedbacks, also a bit more work on the jump and it would be perfect haha

Good entry!

L.Y.L.A. - Your personal Living Your Life Assistant by Gruni 2019-04-29T12:47:26Z

Well, this was... something I guess XD I just hate when there are too many texts and monologues. That's my opinion, and I read the first one, but I ended spamming the space key to rush because it was too much :( Maybe you could have had an unskippable dialogue option for those who skip too fast, that says something like "what would you do if someone didn't care about what you say ?" and then the player is like "oh okay I can't fool the game this easy..." and that'd be fun!

However I like the atmosphere, and the art is pretty easy but works very well!

Elevator Pitch by Hugimugi7 2019-05-04T16:00:52Z

That is a funny game for sure, however I feel it could have been more exaggerated. Like when you start the fight against your boss, it would have been funny having some boxing sounds effects, maybe score, and accentuate more on the thrown objects, with camera shaking, when you hit him, zoom on him and add some bullet time to really add impact on the shoot. But overall it is already really nice and fun to play! The physics is well done but it will always end up by packing up all the objects in a corner and not being able to pick them up again, or hardly.

The art is great, sound is nice, the entry is really cool!

LIFEBLASTER by gwinnell 2019-05-01T15:53:15Z

Congrats for using your own game engine. I feel safe using Unity and I think I could not challenge myself to build my own engine, and use it for a game jam in addition! I like the game, it's neat, funny to play (though french keyboards are not supported, but I'm not blaming you for that xD), the audio is great!

However I don't really feel the theme in your game, it just seems like a normal shooting game, is there something I missed ?

Panic Percussion by verysoftwares 2019-05-01T14:32:27Z

Well I'll be honest on my feedback, I got completely lost so I quit :/ I expected a rythm game to have cool music, and then you press some keys at the same times of the snares, kicks, hats, etc, but here the background music is only made of drums so it's really really hard to get the rythm right. I'm not the best at music, but I honestly found it too hard, and when I got the first level right, I did not know how I did and I immediatly died on the second.

Also, had it has been said, I just didn't know what was happening, I was just pressing Z, not understanding why there was hourglasses, a circle, etc. Might require some more explanations and balance in my opinion, and it could be a funny game!

Ollo's Life by Memel06 2019-04-29T12:34:49Z

The idea of the cats 9 lives made me think "why I didn't think of it too ?" haha It was nice to play, I felt some Undertale vibes, the puzzle were great and not too hard, except the one about the RGB palette. I thought of it but I did not think that could be the solution haha. The character felt like sliding a bit too. Great entry!

[SHIP-WRE-KT] by webthingee 2019-05-01T16:37:04Z

Well after 4 times not being able to get out and dying while flying, I made it haha And I got rickrolled somehow xD I did not fully get the point of the game to be honest, I read you didn't have all the time you would have needed to complete everything, which is sad because I like it so far! There's a good mood, the audio is great, I don't especially like the art but it is not bad. Simple thing : you can't click on object that are behind the robot sprite !

Good entry, hope you'll keep on working on it !

Lifelight by Kromzem 2019-05-01T13:34:26Z

That was a funny game, I really enjoyed playing it ! I lost at wave 14 on my first try, feels frustrating but I guess I did great haha Many things to say !

- I like the art, monsters are cool, their animations are great, you can feel them ready to kill you, happy to do so and that they having nothing to lose trying. About the bullets colors, I'd have gone for a more different palette between the player and the monsters, no need to go for a basic green/red, but maybe it would have been more beautiful to fire lots of colors while monsters fire red/purple/orange bullets. - I don't like the main menu, there's 0 animation in it, if the music weren't there I would have think the game crashed. There's no feedback on buttons too, so this is pretty sad because it's the first thing I saw ^^ - The music is cool, audio too, but maybe a more horrific sound design could be cool! You're in the dark, with lots of monsters, play on that to scare the player a bit ! I know it's not a horror game tho - I like the way the waves are getting harder to beat, however I only felt the difficulty getting really hard on wave 8 or 9 maybe, and it was juste because there were much more enemies. I think it would have been better to keep some enemies for last levels, not spawn them until level 6 or 7, and then when the player is used to the easy patterns, he has to learn how to face a new enemy. That's the reason I don't want to play again, I have nothing to discover, even if I didn't reach the last level I'm pretty sure there's no bonus enemy in it (I might be wrong though, but that is the feeling I have!) - More feedbacks would have been great, sometimes I wasn't sure about bullets if they did hit me, and when I died I was like "okay but why ?" I had no way to know I was about to die. Also when light comes to the player after killing an enemy, the animation is cool so you should accentuate it ! - The audio is cool, I had a feeling some music did not loop perfectly, otherwise it matched the game atmosphere pretty well - I did not really feel the theme...

I think that's it ! Oh and you can't skip the credits, and they're long so it could be cool, but it is a detail :) Thanks for the game, it is a great entry!

Bob the Zombie by Sanguis 2019-05-01T14:23:51Z

5 stars for audio

The game is really fun ! The art is great, the zombie is perfect (I love his right eye shaking up and down), the voice acting made me laugh. I only think the game is a bit too difficult, sometimes you just start a day and wherever you run there's no one so you just die, without being able to do something. But this is a detail I think, easy to fix, so there's no problem about that. Great entry!

Real time by antoined73 2019-04-30T19:48:42Z

The game is fun to play! The art is really really great, it is not as easy as it seems to make neon game like this, but you nailed it perfectly! I found the game a bit hard, not that I'd like it to be a game for children, but I hardly won the second wave, took me like 3 tries (not this much, but I think a second wave shouldn't be so hard). At a moment I was going up, and after killing the last enemy I got teleported to the place I can buy my upgrade but because I went up I just got to the next wave without having time to cancel my movement xD Not a big problem though, didn't prevent me to enjoy playing, thanks for this game !

(Also I had trouble to aim correctly, like the rotation wasn't smooth if I didn't use my mouse, is it my controller or a game issue?)

Quarter Life Crisis by EckyYakov 2019-05-01T20:03:50Z

Cute little game! I didn't expect this after the first screen. The atmosphere and audio change were greatly done. The main problem, to talk about the jam, is that there's absolutely no relation to the theme. To talk about the game, the main issue is the controller. It is not this hard to control, but the jump really is slow, might be more intense, so that when you need to jump over elevators you can do it easily and not wait for 7-8 secondes before it comes back.

Overall a good game, you should maybe work on it a bit more !

Time World by Dreamer 2019-04-29T13:02:27Z

I actually did not understand a thing xD First you did not even rename the zip file so it blended with another folder of mine name "Ludum Dare", that was pretty boring and I didn't start in a good mood haha Too much rules text isn't something good, I never read this because it takes too long and I'd rather try the game, lose, and play it again after I understand the rules myself. But here I didn't, I did not understand what I was doing, what I had to do or something :(

War Crimes by Oivin F 2019-05-01T22:43:06Z

Easy to get in the game, though AZERTY keyboards controls are not supported, and funny to play! The shooting system is great, sometimes a bit hard to aim correctly since you just use the tank visual, but there were nice feedbacks and simple but efficient fx (visual and sounds). I just did not really like the sounds, pure personal opinion!

Nice game, I liked playing it :)

Lonely Heart by Centauri 2019-05-01T13:12:33Z

Well my game experience was a bit ruined because french keyboards controls is not supported haha, but I managed to go to the 3rd level, after the green stone. The only thing I'd say is that it is pretty hard to know where you hit someone, where you get hit, there's a lack of feedbacks about that, and sometimes, when enemies or enemy bullets explode, I did not know if it was me who destroyed it or if the explosion just hit me. Also the game is a bit slow in my opinion (it is not slow, but I mean it could be a bit faster for more fun).

About the graphics, I'm not sure if I like the heart's face but it made me laugh how he looks like this : :smirk: The environment is great tho! At some places there were areas that looked like walkable areas but there was colliders, otherwise I got nothing to say about it. Audio and music were great too, and the game fits the theme prety well, so that is a great entry!

LifeMare by Fleoh 2019-04-30T14:09:01Z

Doesn't really feel in the theme, like you need to keep your health for money, but keeping your health is kind of a basic mechanic that everyone do, not something special ^^ and I found the pace pretty slow, maybe add more enemies but more base fire rate for a more intense battle feeling !

Nonetheless the game is cool, I like the audio and art, it's a good entry!

Space Pilot by Kaiomoi 2019-05-02T17:42:19Z

Maybe this is a bit too difficult ? I had trouble getting used to the controls, and sadly without mastering the controls perfectly you can't really play, I felt like in Interstellar, docking my ship where each millimeter could make me die haha

This was pretty fun though, the idea is great, the physics is actually well done! Don't hesitate to add more feedbacks! Nice entry overall

Hell's Pinball by Valden 2019-04-30T12:10:46Z

Got some Windows XP vibes, truly a great experience! However, I did not read all the rules because I'd rather find them by myself, and playing a pinball is pretty easy, so I didn't understand I had to go in a shop. And when I read that it was actually the goal, I tried again and it is too hard to get in there xD

Still, I love the art, the music is amazing, and the game feel is really cool!

@memel06 @b3agz Thanks a lot for playing! @dreamer I had to do it but I won't lie, I forgot :c sorry for that, I hope you enjoyed the experience despite this bad point ! thanks for playing :) @baraa-marwan I'll check this later, I must do a web version too

Rashness by Saering 2019-04-29T17:15:32Z

@rustycrow Thanks a lot for playing ! :frog:

The game is indeed a bit too easy when you find a correct way to spend your health points, and today I had some of my friends playing it and they all found it a bit too easy after a few games, and that is the biggest problem of the game, if I had at least 1 day to make some playtests and fix all the things that aren't going well about the level, it would have been much better.

And sorry for having you spamming the button haha ! Thanks a lot

Rashness by Saering 2019-04-30T10:42:36Z

@khaoz-fang Hi, thank you for playing! Yeah the boss would need some balance on movement and attack, not sure the bullets are this fast since you can buy shield or dash powerup, but yeah, they're pretty fast xD

Rashness by Saering 2019-04-30T12:02:20Z

@ploy Yeah it was pretty hard to balance all the mechanics combinations while creating the actual game haha! Thanks for playing :)

@leinades Well there's an upgrade for bullet speed but maybe the default speed is too low or the upgrade too expensive, once again this is a balance issue ^^ Thank you for playing!

@nekorio @crosenlund79 @valden Thanks for playing and your feedback!

Rashness by Saering 2019-04-30T17:33:37Z

@acoussat yeah it is meant to be hard, but I guess it is easy for some people, maybe I should have had difficulty levels. And I am french so it would be a shame to forget french controls xD thanks for playing!

Rashness by Saering 2019-04-30T20:17:30Z

@ace17 @antoined73 @mertios yeah, the difficulty of the game is unbalanced, it is more based on luck or buying the good powerups than actual skill, which should be the main thing to put forward for a boss fight like it. Balancing a game is indeed hard to do in such a short delay, but that is the main issue and I should work on it for a new version of the game, if I feel like doing one haha

@stefan-jovanovic Yep, since I was trying the compo for the first time I thought of games for each theme before the announcement. So this game was an idea for both of these 2 themes! I think it wasn't the best of the ideas I had (though I am a pretty bad game designer), but I'm proud of how it ended :)

@bouergh Thanks for the feedback, I thought of the same boss, but every 25% health, he changes its behaviour, and you can change your upgrades, trade health back for some of your powerups, but I was not sure it would have been very relevant, so I decided not to do it, maybe a mistake

@machinescreen @krammetje @hechi @joshua-stone @inkyglow @coder-channel @anstabo Thanks a lot for playing ! I appreciate :)

@marcenat @arkinrev @player2point0 Thanks for playing and commenting!

@barbiche Actually when I play those kind of games, I like to click the mouse every shoot because it gives me the feeling of shooting instead of just waiting for the boss to die. However, I can totally understand that people do not like it, this is only my personal opinion and I should've think of it ! About the dark veil, I thought of it so the dash timing needed to be almost perfect when hearing an attack sound, and satisfying to achieve, but now that the game is done and I took a step back I think that it wasn't the smartest idea I had XD I still think it's good, but it should probably less unfair indeed ! Thanks for your time and feedback

Rashness by Saering 2019-05-01T10:08:10Z

@sergi-montaner Hey, thanks for your feedback ! What do you mean by justified, having more logic prices or justify the fact that the player sacrifices his health with some storyline ?

@someday-not-today Well thanks a lot, you make me blush haha I'm not going to say that the game was easy to make, but when you look at it closely, there's no environment, the animations are easy as hell, the UI is 85% of text, all the sounds have been made with SFXR, the programming is not really hard, so there's nothing that is specially difficult to do, even for one person. I think that, the reason the game looks polished and complete, is the fact that there's harmony between all those elements (visually I mean), there are feedbacks (like explosions, sounds, camera shaking, etc), and I chose to go for a really simple idea I felt confident with, but to give myself thoroughly during the 48h. And, do not wonder what you are doing here, we all love making and playing games, that's why we're here, whatever skill we have !

@walkalope I realized it on monday morning, after the game was submitted xD feels annoying to let something so easy to fix in my game, but that's the rules ! I'll probably fix it once the LD44 is over though :) Thanks for your time and feedback!

@rosabonbon Yes, this menu needs more work overall and a back button is important here indeed, along with a button to buy but also sell upgrades, and keep the last game upgrades not to forget what the player bought ! Thanks a lot for playing!

@recursor @cassio-eduardo @riv-roy @kodiqi @saucygames @dorblin7z7 @caeonosphere @herio5154 Thank you so much for your time and feedback, means a lot ! :heart:

@sergi-montaner I wanted to add some storyline, but I did not have enough time. I thought it was a better idea to try balancing the game a bit than adding some introduction sentences. And yes, I thought of him as some necromancer/warlock that could use some magic to exchange his own lifetime for spells, but then people would probably ask "okay but who's the demon ? why does he do that ?", one question brings 10 others so it would have been hard to get a nice storyline imo ^^

@duke Yeah, some people did it on first try, while some did not achieve to win after 5-6 games, and that's indeed a balance issue. Thanks a lot for your feedback :)

@jamesolivermusic Well I don't even know what diatonic means xD I guess you must be right, music is not my thing, I had to make it since it was a compo, but this is clearly not the best thing in the game haha Thanks a lot for your feedback!

Rashness by Saering 2019-05-01T16:40:41Z

@vinay-rao What do you mean by tracking the mouse cursor ? That they move toward the mouse everytime, not only on their spawn ? Not sure about that (if it is what you meant), but maybe the shooting system needs some rework

Thanks a lot for your nice comment, I'm glad you had fun playing the game, that's the most important thing!

Rashness by Saering 2019-05-01T18:47:55Z

@lubaka Of course it helps, every feedback is appreciated! initially I wanted to make the battle in an arena, I finally didn't due to pure slackness and time, maybe it would have help. As every game boss, he has weak points, so I think it is not a problem, but maybe this one is as easy to find as workable !

@ivan-garcia-filho Thanks for your feedback! The boss was meant to knock back, but with the base bullet speed it was pretty strange to see that. Of course I could change the knock back strenght depending on bullets speed/damages but I did not have enough time for that. However I agree with you ! Same for the trails, it can be cool, I'll try that when I'll update the game :)

Rashness by Saering 2019-05-11T14:41:05Z

@mateusboga Thanks for playing and your feedback! I totally agree with the fact that the game feels lifeless. However I don't especially want to make it something really big, I'd rather spend times on my new projects, I simply want to fix some issues, to make it an even more polished game, but I will keep it a jam game overall :)

CorrupSoul by Odlog Oglog 2019-04-30T20:57:52Z

Well despite some bugs about the character, sometimes teleporting, doesn't seem that he can attack in every direction, the game is neat and the idea is great! There's actually a big lack of feedbacks, I can't know if I hit something, if I'm getting more corrupted or losing lot of health (of course there are bars, but I don't want to check my screen's corners everytime ^^). Might require some work on that, but it is a good prototype!

Death. Mame. Gun. Kill. by edshotmachine 2019-04-30T07:30:23Z

Well I made it to level 1 since I got a french keyboard and it's pretty hard to play for me xD it is a fun game honestly, I like this kind of games based on pure gameplay, feeling, where you simply kill things, always funny to play and make ! Good entry :)

Shopping sucks the life out of you by FreypodGames 2019-04-30T14:39:12Z

As it has been said, the main issue is the lack of fun. Maybe you could add mechanics like things falling into your caddy, having a too heavy caddy for your age so you need to go without it and then come back to validate the purchase, with maybe some timer before the shop closes.

Don't know what you could add, there are a lot of ideas, and the game would be really nice to play, the art is cute and the audio is great!

The Last Dragon by FlyingKiwi 2019-04-30T19:58:34Z

I like the art, it is pretty cute ! Maybe some more animations would have been great, but it is beautiful as it is ! Just one thing to say, the parallax effect is very strange, like the play zone moves slower than the first zone of the background. Don't know if it's clear, I don't have all the english terms, but it felt really weird. Other thing, the gameplay is cool, easy to understand, but I think it was a bit too random, sometimes you can't outrun the witch just because you did not have attacks to pickup. Overall a cool entry, I liked it, thanks for the game

Nutty Twins by Supernapie 2019-05-03T08:25:57Z

Keys are a bit confusing, and maybe difficulty progression is fast, second level is already pretty hard, I didn't get you had the respawn function needed to be used to actually complete the level, I thought it was only there in case you blocked one of the players. No real link to the theme too. However the idea is really cool, the levels well made and smart, and the art fits the whole game design pretty well! Good job :)

Cursed Samurai by palsina 2019-05-01T17:27:56Z

The graphics are insane, and the game is fun. It feels like Dark Souls, in the sense that the game does not forgive any error you would do, and you can die each frame if you're not paying enough attention. I really like that. I felt some issues with the parry + jump, like I died in mid air while blocking, or just when I landed, I don't know, but there's some things curious about this combination. Just detail tho

Wanted by Stefan Jovanovic 2019-04-30T20:39:45Z

Weeeeeell I am very bad at your game XD I hardly killed El Mostacho (sexy name btw), I almost gave up but I killed him at least once haha I like the game, it is pretty good, maybe hard ? I know I do not have the best reaction time, but seeing all those enemies, I would have expected the first one to be a 3/0, or at least a 3/1. About the art, I'm not sure I like the post processing you made to be honest, it doesn't suit the pixel art style of your game in my opinion, I'd rather have some camera shaking, smoke effects than a big lens distortion and chromatic aberration. Personal opinion though

That's a good entry, great job and thanks for the game!

The Bounty Hunter by dk5000p 2019-04-29T18:12:13Z

I like the idea, I wanted to make a game based on voice a few months ago, I finally didn't even try but your game reminded me of that haha

I guess it was pretty hard to do and get to work, because the game doesn't look really polished imo, but it was fun to play anyway ! This indeed has potential so I'd be curious to see what you can do with more time, maybe keep on working on it !

Planting with Pain Donkeys Adventure by Biebras 2019-05-02T17:11:57Z

The game is pretty fun, however there are lots of things that bothered me, so here's a small list so you can change a few things if you think this is relevant !

- Zombies are fast, reaaaaally fast, and it is not a problem, it's a choice, but then I would like that they do not spawn right on my face and explode on me - When a message says that the wave is ended, there are still spawning zombies. Maybe less, but then it's strange to say the wave is completely ended, just say it is some break time or something - The planting system is hard to get used to and to understand. I did not watch the video on my first try because I expect games to be clear by themselves, and it is almost impossible to guess you have to get some water first (though it is pretty logical actually haha) - Do not allow the player to buy seeds if it's going to kill him

Overall I liked it ! The shooting and movement felt really great and the music is nice! Good entry :)

Planting with Pain Donkeys Adventure by Biebras 2019-05-02T18:08:15Z

You're welcome! No problem about their speed if you want them to be fast, just let the player some time to kill them :p And yes, whenever your game has mechanics that are not 100% intuitive, you can't let the player find out by himself (or maybe in sandbox-like games, but that's not the case here). Tutorials are hard to make tho, and they take time, that's why they are pretty annoying in game jams but you can't just skip it sadly xD I wish we could!

And well I'm sorry but I'd rather do a jam with people I can be with IRL ^^ and since I'm in a game dev school, there are tons of people I would like to work with for ludum dare !

A.N.D.Y.R.U.S.exe by Dock Frankenstein 2019-05-01T13:59:12Z

I did play for the first 3 or 4 days with A.N.D.Y.R.U.S I think, but I have to say I quit because it seems that there was no ending at all. I know there must be one, but it was waaaaaaaay too long honestly. The calculations thing was fun, the fact that you have to walk backward and forward each day is great, gives a nice repetition feeling, however I did not understand the story at all... Too many texts, the story seemed fuzzy, and once I was in the game I felt like I missed something. Also there's no sound, the commands do not really look like commands, so I did not get caught into your game this much.

There's a good idea in it, but I don't especially like the execution, though it is only my personal opinion ! Keep up the good work !

Warlock : Soul War by Gludo 2019-05-02T16:53:58Z

My game crashed after I lost haha xD like "you're too bad, leave this game"

The game is great ! It fits the theme well, it is beautiful, well made (some bugs but nothing that disallow me from playing). The first thing I want to say is, when you come into the game, it is nice to have the full interface presentation, but you forgot to tell what the player has to do. I know I can spawn units, I'll kill enemies, but why ? What do I have to do ? Survive? Conquer ? It's easy to find out but it would have been nice to tell the player just before all the UI explanations.

Also I found the game a bit slow and repetitive. This kind of game is obviously too hard to balance correctly in such a short time, so I won't blame you for that haha, but this is my opinion. And the fact that there's no music doesn't help.

Overall, a really great entry! Nice job, that's a nice game for a 3 days production

King's Alchemist by Vlad Dae 2019-05-01T15:16:27Z

Simple art but very efficient. Fast understanding of the game and funny gameplay ! Pretty sad there's no sound, it would help to know what's going on from one menu to another, but the game is already good as it is, so can't wait to see how it will look like once you're done!

Precarious by Norfma 2019-05-03T16:58:28Z

I liked the game, it was nice to play, easy to undertand and it has a great creepy atmosphere. It is in fact the best point in my opinion, the ambiance is nicely done, the art is great, and I think you should have accentuate it, by making the environment darker when the players gets ill, or maybe tinted in more green colors when he just gave an organ (RIP testicles), so it would have make the whole game more uncomfortable to play, and I think it would have been well. The music is great too.

Now the bad points :p First, it is too obvious that the outcome is going to be a death. I don't say you should change that, but after checking all the prices, I immediatly guessed I was going to die in about 2 weeks. Maybe raise up the rent each time, do not show all the possible sold organs (why would I sell my lungs when I still can live by seeling my "juice" ?), increase the bar prices, it's something that can happen in real life, so it can in your game too! Also the game lacks feedback in my opinion, it's not clear enough that the player is hungry, that he's getting worse and worse each day, and when I died I was wondering why. I knew I was about to, but I felt pretty good to stay alive, even with a low health, but alive.

And about some details, well first it's strange that I can still sell my sperm without testicles, maybe I'll question myself after that tho haha, and when you switch from a day to another using a black fade, wait for the screen to be completely dark before you change the statistics like the day counter or the hunger bar. And you could also change the player's sprite so it is possible to see when you can sell your hair or no !

Overall a cool entry, I enjoyed playing it ! :)

Heartless Deal by Kakera 2019-05-01T11:11:55Z

I'm not sure about how I feel about this game... I lost on the question about the stole treasure, I was wondering what would happen if I chose to hunt those who stole it, to see what the demon would say, and I just got a game over screen. Isn't it supposed to be my choices, and then at the end, depending on some kind of average rating from the demon, he decides what to do ? I don't want to lie about what I would do in front of certain situations just to win, I want the ending the demon thinks I deserve and nothing else. I feel there shouldn't be a game over here, just different endings (with of course some endings being sadder).

I clicked on your game when I saw the demon art, and I was not disappointed. I truly love him, the art, the colors, the face expressions, congrats for that ! However I feel like there have been more work on this character than everything else :/ The menus are simple, no font, the text doesn't appear letter by letter (which would give a feeling that there's an actual dialogue), no audio effects, just a music that, in my opinion, doesn't suit the story this well...

The art and audio part aren't something hard to change, I just don't think you took the best possible direction for your story and your game design. That is my pure personal opinion though, and overall I think the game can become really great, but I wanted to share my thoughts with your team, so tell me what you think ! :)

Give and Take by purnatus 2019-05-01T14:13:56Z

That's a very neat entry, great job! I liked playing your game, I immediatly got into the atmosphere, the storyline, and playing with only two keys, it makes the game really chill and slow paced, perfect for this kind of gameplay. I only have to say that the screen interface is not clear at all, there are a lot of instructions before to remind, so it was a bit hard to get everything together on start. Also the art is so cool! I love the characters, I just think you could have found a bit more dialogues because it is obvious that some different characters had the same sentences. That's a detail tho!

Great job!

Pourparler by LoicLeGrosFrere 2019-04-30T20:46:55Z

wtf got so scared by the bullet shot sound xD It is funny on first sight, seeing some real faces on 2D characters always brings smile, but after a few minutes of playing I just did not know what to do, I understood the point and the story, but it felt like I was out of options and I just kept crying and not bringing attention. So as it has been said, more feedbacks and explanations would be great!

Otherwise I like the fact that you made the game for fun, that's what game jams are for

1024 by chrisdugne 2019-05-03T21:05:39Z

The random factor of the game doesn't bother me, however it is way too fast to be actually playable for real. This is supposed to be fast paced and based on reflex, obviously, but there's also some reflexion about which color to burst, etc, and it is pretty impossible to have the time to think correctly. I feel the only way to win is to be lucky with the generated colors and their columns. Also it is really annoying to lose when a square spawns up to a column, but it doesn't wait for it to be stacked to trigger the game over.

However the game is really fun to play, it's frustrating but it's hard to quit before you win at least once. With more polish, art and feedbacks, it will be a very very nice little game ! I just think it does not fit the theme, but overall it is a nice entry!

Rock, Paper Scissors: After (School) Hours Edition by SpliceDev 2019-04-29T14:15:58Z

Cool game on every point, I just think that it does not suit the theme this well :/ Like you indeed use your health to do things but it doesn't feel like actual "currency", just usual video games health points. Otherwise it was cool to play, maybe hard (I killed 9 people, don't know if it's good haha), but funny ! Good job :)

The Adventures of Bileous by LyghtningWither 2019-04-29T15:16:42Z

Nice storytelling! My only regret is that the art is bad, I don't want to be mean but it has to be said. However, it doesn't prevent your game for being cool to play and fun, and that's a great point!

Fair n Square by DaniDev 2019-05-04T10:57:56Z

The proof that you don't need awesome sprites as long as you have nice game feel and feedbacks! Came here after seeing your video, and I was not disappointed, the game is as fun as it seems! I think you should have exaggerated the shaking, explosions, colors of the game so that it really feels like a war against cube where you end up shootnig at everything randomly, just because it's fun. Maybe adding some background color that changes over time could also help making the game less repetitive, because you might have different upgrades, the gameplay is always the same - which is not a problem of course but it's great to make the player feels he's playing something different each time, even if it's false. And little detail, I'm not sure using SFXR was the best decision with this kind of graphics

Overall a great entry, easy but efficient use of theme, good job!

Life Path by kristinnes 2019-04-29T14:36:32Z

Simple but efficient game! The music is very chill and the art is great. This is a good entry!

Life Engineer by Coder Channel 2019-04-30T20:24:49Z

That music loop is now stuck in my brain... haha cool game ! I like the fact that, for a first game jam and first unity game, there's some nice polish out there. By that I mean that texts have fonts, not the Unity base text, buttons have graphics, it doesn't feel like a first unity game actually.

You should think of adding some feedbacks to your games, that is the biggest think I can think of, like adding some explanation texts where you put the mouse over the key or the cross, adding some sounds on picking objects, dragging them, stitching, some particle effects (the unity particle system is pretty easy to get used to and can get you nice results pretty fast !)

Nice entry!

An American Blood Clot in Techno Athens by Shuu 2019-05-04T19:31:31Z

Okay so you've told me the solution to level 2, but I didn't go further than level... 5 I think ? Where you have to wall jump. Here's why : the level is pretty hard and unforgiving, it seems you need to perfectly jump at the right distance so that you don't lose too much blood and then you can create a platform to reach the end. The watching eye is in my opinion not necessary and simply adds a challenge that does not belong in a level where you want to : first, teach the wall jumping mechanic, second, validate the platform creation system. The reason I quit is, when I finally reached the end, there was a bug I guess but I could not end the level. So I threw myself out of the level because I realized you would die by falling, but here I didn't so I just kept falling forever. Those are bugs I guess, but I did not want to play again because the game is pretty hard.

Or that's not that the game is hard, it's more the difficulty curve that is very badly dosed. As you said when explaining me the level 2, you've already been told that you need to teach a mechanic, then apply it to make sure the player fully masters it, so I won't say it again.

The controls are also too slippery for me. I think the reason I could not achieve level 2 is that it didn't cross my mind I needed more speed, since I am already really fast and I already can jump pretty far. So maybe slow down a bit the player because it's so hard to get used to. Another thing I did not like is to create platforms then fall under it. I feel like, when creating a platform mid air, you create it under your feet so you can just land on it (and that's what I thought I needed to do in level 2). It's not normal to jump, create a platform, fall, then jump on the platform you just created.

It seemed I could somehow get my normal size back, by maybe running into my blood or something, and I did not understand how I did that. Overall I think the games lacks explanations and feedbacks, it does not bother having to find out something by myself but here you have to guess almost everything. So yeah, fully explain your mechanics, and then create puzzles where the player is like "I know all the mechanics but I have no clue about how to do that ?".

And to talk about some details, remove the camera animation when you try a level again, or show it every 5-6 tries, because your game is a kind if die and retry, and so waiting a bit, even 2 or 3 seconds, is too much and quickly becomes boring. Also you have to wait for a few seconds before dying of falling (and you can see the skybox).

I know this comment might be hard but, keep in mind it's only so that you can improve your game and that it is also my personal opinion, you might not agree with me, and then I'll invite you to tell me what you think ! :) I liked the art, sound, and the game idea is really cool and fits the theme, so I'll be happy to play again if you update it ! Good luck and good job !

Behind Your Light by Cem Adiloglu 2019-04-30T09:39:49Z

Nice entry! I like the mechanic, but I think it is a bit too easy to fool the game since you can just rotate your mouse fast enough to stop every monster and run through the level :p Maybe add more feedbacks, accentuate the stress, the fear of the monsters (I know it's not a horror game though), but overall this is really neat ! Great job

Heartful Decisions by Lubaka 2019-04-29T12:50:50Z

Hi! I like the idea of the game, though I must admit I didn't understand what I had to do on my first try. It wasn't really, especially duo to the fact that it is slooooow as hell, and it felt like the death was pretty random. But, it really isn't far from being a pretty cool game, just need some more balance and feedbacks! Good job :)

Break a Leg by Walkalope 2019-04-29T18:08:55Z

That's actually a great platformer, I like the fact that every level has a name, it gives the whole thing some atmosphere, some seriousness. To my opinion the most important thing to fix is, well, the jump. It is not impossible to play but for a game based on jumping I think it needs more work.

I know that time was pretty limited, and I know that having a great jump mechanic is maybe one of the hardest thing in games, but the air control seems very limited, it looked almost impossible to change direction in air, and it didn't feel very responsive.

Very good idea to add buttons to skip levels! Also, I liked the art and the character especially, it's great that it is rounded and jumps in a square based world, great way to spot it correcly !

Nice entry overall :)

The Money Hole by miu 2019-05-01T14:38:39Z

I'm not sure I can rate your game. Since I'm not used to this kind of RPG games, I got lost, it went a bit fast for me, too much combat options and everything haha I can't really judge the game because I did not play it for a long time, but it is great to see an entry like this, that surprised me a lot!

Must have been a real challenge to achieve, good job for that ! I like the art, it's really great

Boxes Rush by Mia Devs 2019-05-03T09:06:00Z

So I just finished a run, and I there are many things I'd like to say!

- Too many rules at the beginning, I did not read everything, I expect from a game to have one or two rules, then to be intuitive or explain the controls one by one, taking some time between two - The jump is hard to get used to and the gravity felt really low, which is strange for a "rush", I'd have prefer a more punchy jump and landing ! - The coins colliders should be spherical, while you're going further in the level it's hard to predict the coins rotation to pick them up, and since they are rotating, a sphere collider is more than legit - I didn't see any enemy ? At start I saw some of them but quickly I was just alone picking up coins ? - So I picked up coins for 3-4 minutes then I reached the wall, and back to main menu like nothing happened :/

Overall I think that, like this, the game isn't fun at all. However, simply by changing the pace of it, the jump, add some VFX and feedbacks, it can be a pretty cool fast paced game, with some more levels of different colors or something like this to avoid the repetition feeling! You should keep on working on it :)

Keep on working on your game to complete it for you, and next Ludum Dare you'll complete your game (with as beautiful pixel art as this one I hope !) ;)

The upside(down) by Youpeoples 2019-04-29T16:52:31Z

Nice game, I like it a lot ! But please add ZQSD controls for french keyboards xD The mood is really great, for some reason it reminds me of a game called Voyd, a game I played years ago but I really did enjoy its atmosphere and your game gave me similar feelings. Great entry, thanks for it !

The upside(down) by Youpeoples 2019-04-29T17:25:43Z

@youpeoples Thank you a lot! Didn't expect you to do it this fast haha ! I reached a higher part of the game, and I of course had much more fun playing :p you should add the french keyboard build to your post so french people can download it :)

Escape from the Bank by KreGames 2019-04-30T12:31:57Z

Cool little game ! I made Collin escape a few times but some levels were difficult :p

Some things you could fix : - add physics materials to your environment and player so that you don't stick to walls when strafing - When you run into a wall and don't move because you're stuck, you still lose points, which is annoying since you're not really going on - Change the levels colors, zooms, vision range, or things like this that are not especially difficult to do, but could give to every level a new interest - Add coins you can collect to get more steps, it is boring to reach a dead end and know that you won't do it to the exit, so why not giving just enough coins to be able reaching the end ? It's not giving the solution path, just a second chance

Otherwise this is a cool entry!

Everyday by Tambosi 2019-05-02T19:45:07Z

First thought of the first screen : it's really beautiful. The lighting, the colors, everything seems perfectly done. However, why do you use the computer screen to display the credits or the instructions but not the main menu ? It would have been muuuuch better for the immersion. The music is also great, really peaceful and fitting the atmosphere pretty well in my opinion.

I played for maybe 4-5 minutes before getting to a game over screen, and I'm just wondering why I lost ? I've read the explanations, none of my 3 bars were at 0, so I did not understand what happened ? I think the game lacks feedbacks a lot, I just ended up clicking on the different actions randomly. By the way you could add some other objects to click on ! Just for fun, but it would break the repetition of the game. And I can't see how the gameplay is related to the theme, too.

However, it was chill to play, very relaxing, and the art is so beautiful I liked watching the same for a few minutes haha! Cool entry !

Chess Adventure by MoonLens 2019-04-29T20:27:28Z

And this, is an interesting game! It is really cool, the fact that there's no audio is not a problem, but I think there are some easy things you could do to make it better :

- put the shop on the left, since it's your side of the board

- show the archer range

- explain every mob statistics, its health, etc

overall the lack of feedbacks is the biggest problem, but the entry has a lot of potential! Great job

PayTime by aqws3 2019-04-30T19:37:38Z

Not sure if I were doing right or wrong haha, I guess money management is not for me! Also in my country we do not use dollars so maybe I completely messed up with the values

The game is pretty chill, the art is cool, each person has enough information so that you can think a little bit, without having to read tons of texts to estimate the pay, which is great. The idea is cool, maybe keep on working on it a bit ! And with bigger screen haha

Goblin Launcher by FelipeDermann 2019-05-01T20:23:47Z

There is a huge lack of feedbacks and you should accentuate every action in the game. In your entry you only pickup goblin and throw them, so you should've give everything for that, audio, camera shaking, vfx, bigger smoke explosion, and then the game would be super fun to play!

All the enemies come from only 4 spawn points, add some more and change the speeds to give more random spawn, here it feels like you are working on the chain haha

Overall the game is pretty, cool and fitting music, nice 3D art, and cool idea

5 Minute Dungeon by LubFotPig 2019-04-29T20:54:54Z

Yay I won ! Then I bought powerups so I died ! The feeling of the game is great, but I have some things I'd like to say : - the audio is pretty terrible xD not having music is not a problem, but here there were only high pitch sounds and my ears didn't really enjoy it - As it has been said, when you don't have any environment element in a big level it's hard to know if you're actually moving or not - controls did work great so nothing special to say there - the camera shaking doesn't look like shaking but more than a bug, where the camera is offset for 1 or 2 frames, so instead of giving a great feedback it causes visual trouble

And last but no least, why sacrifice time instead of health ? When I saw that there were "time is currency" in the themes, I thought of a game where you sacrifice play time for powerups, exactly what you did. And when the theme "your life is currency" was announced, I immediately thought that I could just pay upgrades with life points instead of time ! And that's what I did. The difficulty would have been exactly the same since time and life are just numbers, but it would have suited the theme :/

Overall, the game is really nice ! Why not consider fixing some of the issues, add some art, music, and make it a greater game ?

bird food by kyavi 2019-05-01T16:19:41Z

Finally completed your game! Frustrating game, but I'm used to play Dark Souls so it's okay haha I think the worst is, as it must have been mentioned already, the fact that the collisions are on a grid system and the movement on the same grid but where each cell is divided in 4. In addition to the rounded angles of the environment, the 3D shape of the levels, this makes the game really hard to get used to. This is a good and challenging mechanic, but maybe slowing the snake down just a bit could help.

When you eat fruits (are they fruits ?), there's a sound that you can use to get the rythm in your head, and when you're in a corridor full of fruits, it's pretty easy to turn at the right time. But when you just walk and eat nothing, there's no sound so it can also be a way to make your mechanic easier to use.

The art is great, pretty simple but very efficient, but I'd suggest changing some things as you go through the levels, like some environments things moving, different colors or something else. I bet it would give the player a reason to go further and fight his frustration after dying many times on the same wall :p

And last point, the game is really great as it is, but I did not feel the theme at all sadly ^^

☐☐☐☐☐ : an experimental narrative by Lapersila 2019-04-30T14:17:09Z

I'll admit it was a bit slow and confusing, I did not really know what was happening ^^ I know this does not need to be fast paced but here you sometimes have to wait long moments). Maybe adding some animations to the characters, simple blinking eyes or whistling, might help for that, and give more life to the game!

Otherwise, the game is chill, clean, the story is cool to follow ! Good entry :)

LD45 — Start with nothing

I ain't got no body by WeaverDeveloper 2019-10-09T20:40:40Z

I hate you for allowing the player to die while he's picking up a pumpkin haha, otherwise the game is really fun to play !

Bathala by Ltven0mI 2019-10-08T10:37:39Z

Nice little game, it's working without problem and it is pretty fun :) however there's a big lack of feedbacks, no audio at all, so I had to figure out by myself what my actions were doing, the game was not telling me. The game is pretty linear, there's nothing to do excepted wait and throw items. At some point I found a kind of a machine gun, so I only ended up firing my enemies until I lost. Maybe fixing those little bugs could help you having a much better game! Keep on working on it :)

ClaKnight by assimby 2019-10-08T15:42:33Z

It gets funny once you know what is going on, but it is pretty hard to know what's happening and what you have to do ! Maybe a lack of feedback and explanations. Graphics are pretty cool though!

The Blue Girl by gamebuilder 2019-10-08T19:26:02Z

I like the originality in the entry. Not a huge fan of this kind of games to be fully honest haha, but I had a nice time playing it, it was atmospheric and enjoyable :)

Get Rid of Your Pants (or Die With It) by Saering 2019-10-08T12:18:08Z

Thanks a lot ! @purrseus Thanks for your feedback and for warning us about this A button, I'm not quiet sure why it happened but I'll have a look at it :)

Get Rid of Your Pants (or Die With It) by Saering 2019-10-08T18:55:36Z

Thanks everyone! Glad you enjoyed it :)

@itsdanidre well yeah the game is hard and we know it. We thought of making it easier, but since there's only one level, we decided to make it a tough one so that the game can be challenging, and rewarding. Maybe you could try again later and do it on first try haha!

Would be an amazing game if you decided to improve it and take it further ! Great entry

Limbo by Jannick Larsen 2019-10-08T10:29:14Z

Pretty sad that when the battery is out, you can not see anything at all, and all that you can do is quit :/ the game is beautiful, I expected a much worse visual from a jam game but it was interesting to see !

Limbo by Jannick Larsen 2019-10-08T10:45:40Z

@preda My bad then! But I would except the game to tell me in that case, much better than having to read a description :p

Nothing is my car ! by T-Bo 2019-10-08T15:22:59Z

Cute little game! I like the feedbacks when you hit something and overall it's easy to get used to the game and to understand what to do (even if having to read lines of texts to get the rules is worse than a tutorial, but in this case it was not very long). I think the collisions detection might be a bit easier, sometimes I felt like I would not touch anything but I ended up colliding with an object I just crossed, but overall the game was working pretty well ! Maybe think of adding a replay button so that players do not have to go through the main menu to play again Cool entry!

Cipher by TaqoShaq 2019-10-09T07:00:46Z

I like how this is "The Witness" made in 72 hours haha, pretty nice game but a bit easy imo, you might have add more complex rules maybe (though I know it's not always easy to implement). I just regret the theme is not really there ; of course you start with nothing, but I think you could have made something a bit more original with it!

Off The Grid by CrimsonHorizon 2019-10-08T15:30:48Z

To be honest the first two levels made me think this would be a great puzzle game, but sadly the last ones were pretty linear :/ The mechanic is great, and it fits the theme well, I'm disappointed you didn't bring more good levels to life ! But I know level design is hard. I like the fact the visuals are simple, it's great to understand what's going on and play ! The music is cool too and the game is very atmospheric!

LD46 — Keep it alive

Another Bloody Day by Flipsy 2020-04-23T12:25:18Z

I died at the moment he stares at you and approaches slowly haha, great job! This is a really cool and fun entry :) Sadly the gameplay is a bit empty, just some typing and clicking, but I can't say it doesn't fit the game so, it was not a big problem, maybe just not the games I play the most haha. Humour and art were on point

pedALIVE (Pedal to keep it alive) by siryakko 2020-04-22T21:31:57Z

Cool entry :) I think the art style is nice but you could have been further, like animating the texts the same way you animated the character, for example, it would have make the visual more polished. Also, the game lacks feedback and it requires some tries to fully understand how it is meant to be played. But overall, I had fun !

Egdar's Blobs by Noa Calice 2020-04-23T09:56:05Z

The game is fun, and the physic is well made enough to mention it, good job on that. The idea is simple but efficient, however I felt like some of the controls were a bit random, I know it is not, but sometimes it was quiet hard to understand how to control the platforms the right way, and sometimes it was just frustrating because I knew what I had to do and I just could not. And that leads me to the next point, I would have expected such a game to be more puzzle-based, here, it is just linear and you immediatly know how you can win, which is boring because I then just have to die and retry until the physic lets me win. Also, the camera sometimes didn't follow Slurpy fast enough so I died. Otherwise, this is a neat entry :)

À la Fenêtre by DocGeraud 2020-04-22T20:28:15Z

This is beautiful and the story is great. I think it lacks a bit of gameplay, even if I understand it is a game mostly focused on its story, I thought it was a bit boring to just stare at the game and control some invisible thing around the world without having to do anything more. However, it is very neat!

Oak Defenders by Hugimugi7 2020-04-24T16:57:52Z

Nothing to say special that hasn't been said in the previous comments I've read. I just want to say that the controls did really feel weird to me, jumping with W while you use the Space key to interact is just sooo strange, you could just use E to interact and Space to jump. But overall, this was fun to play, pretty long to get into since waves are coming very slowly and it takes time to have the first rewards, but well executed and pretty !

KidPunk by Squeele 2020-04-22T20:10:48Z

Fun entry ! You could improve it by making the levels shorter, or the kid faster. Waiting for him during first level was really annoying. The concept and mechanics are simple, but executed pretty well :)

Captain Molly by Saering 2020-04-22T13:28:51Z

Thanks everyone for playing our game!

@ironjeff Yes, we're working on sound design so kitten sounds will not be the unique sound effect anymore :p

@paullyaudet Thanks for the feedback ! I did change the bouncing bullets color, that is a good idea. For the checkpoints, we did not add some because the game duration is pretty short actually, but you're right about the ludum testers that don't usually play the games multiple times, so I guess we should have add checkpoints haha

Captain Molly by Saering 2020-04-22T21:15:21Z

@siryakko @docgeraud @squeele Thank you guys :) totally agree, we had sound on the improved version because it indeed lacks audio !

Captain Molly by Saering 2020-04-23T20:33:57Z

@feingehacktes I built the game for Windows, Mac and Linux if I trust what Unity says. I wrote Windows 64 but it might work ?

Captain Molly by Saering 2020-04-23T22:29:46Z

@feingehacktes Yes but the web version is not the jam submission, it is an improved build ! We don't really care about having lots of ratings and score, but people wouldn't like us to share a game that has been made in more than 72 hours :)

Captain Molly by Saering 2020-04-24T16:33:37Z

Thanks everyone for trying our game out and your feedback!

@maksym Congrats on saving all the kittens haha :p you're totally right about the upgrade thing, we discussed it when we did our post mortem and the games lacks a sense of progression.

@stefan-jovanovic Well, I can just thank you for that, that is flattering :)

MyTube by backurio 2020-04-23T12:18:54Z

Nice entry! It was fun to play, here are some feedback: - the post processing effect is very hard for the eyes, lens distorsion + chromatic aberration is a dangerous mix and I feel you went a bit far on the values. It's great you added an option to remove that, but if you did, that might mean you knew it was not visually comfortable ? - controls and tutorial phase are very neat and it is the main reason I enjoyed the game. However, after 2-3 minutes of gameplay, I thought it was a bit boring just wandering, picking up things and going near the enemies with no other input that direction. If I need to attack someone, I want to do it myself, by spamming some button or at least keeping it pressed. - the things I had to pick up (subs, money, etc.) were just lost in the middle of the incoming likes at some point, which did not help me knowing what I was doing. And that leads me to the next point : this is too easy and it doesn't require strategy to win. You just go near the enemies when they come, and then you run around and it works. I would have like a better difficulty curve, some levels maybe, it was too easy and linear - audio is great!

Overall, great job on this entry ! It is polished and complete which is very nice

MyTube by backurio 2020-04-24T13:09:16Z

@backurio Haha no problem, take your time ! You're welcome for the feedback, time management is hard and we all have things that we could have done with more time, but that's the spirit of the event :p I'll be happy to play your game again if you work on an improved version!

Keep it a LIVE by Synadiome 2020-04-22T12:00:18Z

Nice game ! It felt terrible when the voice disappeared right before the last chorus (bad luck on random for me haha) but overall this was neat, simple and efficient. I died at first because I did not understand I had to avoid the spotlights (I don't read the games description, I expect them to be clear enough by themselves :p), but it didn't prevent me from playing again :metal:

(PS: en jouant ton jeu m'a fait penser à ça : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Av788P9stk si jamais tu as la foi d'intégrer un truc comme ça peut défoncer!)

Drop Bear by silentcoder99 2020-04-24T12:52:44Z

Feels like a good idea and a good execution. I found it too difficult, at least for the first 2-3 tries, but I believe this is already too much for such a short game. As it has been said, maybe having a better ambiance with a faster music could help pacing the game

Earth Defense by aero 2020-04-24T13:06:40Z

There is something satisfying about building the city and seeing the jets fighting, however there are a few things that I regret : - there is actually no gameplay, you can just randomly buy buildings and jets and it will work - you can't really see what is going on during an attack, the camera rotation limit is too tight, there are no statistics like current enemies alive, currently owned jets, etc. which could make it feel more like a game where you have control on what you do - maybe having more enemies (like bigger jets with more damages, nothing too long to setup but that could add a lot to the game) would have been great

But overall I liked it and the idea might be simple, but is well executed and efficient. The game runs smoothly (even if sometimes the music crashed?), the boids system is neat, good job!

Ahoy! by Basileios 2020-04-29T14:47:11Z

This was too hard, the rotation is hard to handle, I should be able to rotate my ship wherever I want without having to do almost full rotations each time I want to change my aim (maybe it is possible but I did not notice it). The wind direction is indeed shown on screen, but it is so little it just does not attract the look, so you are just moving around and figuring out where the wind blows. Also, the mechanic is interesting but it has no point here. If the map had borders where the ship would fall, then there will be a point to add some wind mechanic that would make each round different (that might not be the best example but you get the point). Here, it is just making the controls harder for no particular reason and no additional fun. Also, this does not fit the theme because you have to keep the ship alive. Well technically it does, but fitting in a theme means that the gameplay/world building itself should work around the theme, and just having a health bar is clearly not enough.

However, don't take this feedback the wrong way ! I think the overall game is nice, but it just missed some basic points, that could have make it a much better submission. The game is working well, there are graphics, audio, gameplay loop, and that is also very important to notice so good job for that! Keep up the work!

Sewer's Plague by Nicolas Revillon 2020-04-22T10:55:35Z

Grow! by alex457 2020-04-29T15:03:17Z

That is a neat entry :) simple idea, simple gameplay but pretty efficient. And a complete game for a compo entry is always a great job! The main issue of the game is its randomness. In a game where you have to manage an entity, that is dying a bit more whenever you click to go further, you have to make sure the difficulty increases at a correct pace and the exploration is not completely random, especially on game starting ! I died twice because I could not find energy, before having the chance to find enough to grow my plant. Also, being nice to the player on game start will make him like the game, realize what he can do and how, and notice that the plants indeed grows (visually). And then, you can make it harder because you know the player will want to see what the plant looks like when it is grown more and more, and that he will play again because he did not die because of the game randomness, but because it was just his first try and his strategy is obviously not elaborated enough.

But overall it was great ! I liked it and it has potential :)

The dying earth by a piece of egg 2020-04-23T10:30:34Z

Well I downloaded your game but I'm not sure what to do, I went down for a long time and nothing happened ? Not sure if it is the right direction, but nothing tells the played what he has to do (or at least, give him a direction), and since there are no environment, it is impossible to know if I'm still moving or not. Try making games that go straight to the point, help your player understand what is going on, and never let him completely lost (not directly on start, at least). But, remind that you built a game for the jam, and you can be proud of that. Keep up the work

The Given Path by Jvdwijk 2020-04-22T11:04:45Z

That is a nice game ! I believe it lacks feedback too much, espacially during the card game phase. I was never sure what was going on and I was just stunning and damaging my enemies as mush as possible, without taking care of the cards colors and it seemed to work :p The movement is great but it is boring having to move the player and the camera with different controls ^^

Feed The Panda by Takase 2020-04-23T12:02:37Z

That's a fun little game, I had a good time playing it :) Great graphics, simple but efficient gameplay. I think it would have make more sense stacking the ingredients instead of adding them from the highest to the lowest maybe, and why not adding the possible ingredients count gradually so that you have some difficulty curve instead of a time limit ? But those are details, this is a great entry!

Yobuds by noahnewline 2020-04-22T10:42:19Z

Really fun game ! I liked how the tutorial forces you to understand controls before playing, simple design but very efficient, and the way the music starts right after is neat! I simply think this could be more fun if the difficulty did not increase as linearly as it does, maybe by adding some other falling things, adding some kind of levels, etc. But this is a great entry overall !

The Dark Cave by Tom Stephenson 2020-04-22T22:11:10Z

It of course reminds of Limbo but, maybe too much :/ The game is neat, the idea is nice, the sound design is well done, but I believe you could have done better with this ! I did not understand the utility of throwing an object, and I did not understand it was supposed to be played with sound until the end (I read game descriptions after I play them because I expect from a game to be self explanatory). However, it was a good experience!

Keep It Alive Game by ZerohBeat 2020-04-23T10:39:13Z

So, I ran your game, played for like 1 or 2 minutes and won. I totally understand the time problem, but I believe you could have use the time you had in a better way. Instead of having some tutorial that does not require to be this long since there are not tons of mechanics, why didn't you work on a better platforming system ? Double jump, moving platforms, etc. that would have make the game more fun ? And maybe make the player slower or jump with less height when he is low on health, which would force the player to find a strategy to reach all flowers?

However, you got it done, and that is a very great point. Good job!

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

PolyFury by Dom Harris 2020-10-07T09:05:39Z

I feel like this game has a great concept but the execution left me a bit uncomprehending. I'm not sure the camera motion and perspective suit this kind of gameplay very well, it's hard to be precise and this is pretty frustrating in a bullet hell game. And to be fair, at the end I was just firing the boss and not really trying to avoid the bullets (which would normally be the point), and I still won.

Still, I like how the game is straight forward and how I immediatly got into it, I believe that with a bit more polish and some cool visual effects, you can get a very nice prototype ! You should keep on working on it at least a bit :)

Snek by Nyunesu 2020-10-06T08:13:36Z

That's a nice game ! I feel like it's more a puzzle game than a "stuck in a loop" related game - just like mine so I won't blame you for that :p - but it's really cool anyway! I had some trouble getting used to the controls, mostly because the snake sometimes grows diagonally, but once I understood how to play, the levels went smoothly and it was enjoyable :)

Delicious Quest by Saering 2020-10-06T11:33:36Z

Thanks everyone for the comments, we appreciate that!

@nohua Totally agree, I believe using the side teleportation mechanic more, as @raiponz mentioned, could help getting this "loop" feeling. We'll try to make this better with the levels we will add!

@tipyx Thanks! That is already written in my to-do list, just didn't have time to implement it during the jam xD

Delicious Quest by Saering 2020-10-06T15:12:40Z

@mamon Congrats on completing it ! And thank you :D Yeah the UI is sometimes confusing, overlapping is definitely a problem. I'll check what I can do to make it better

Delicious Quest by Saering 2020-10-08T11:14:03Z

@narom42 thanks for playing! The game physics is definitely something we must work on. I decided not to use the Unity physics components and use my own ones, but it comes with bugs and unwanted behaviours, as always. I'm not sure when it will be published but we're already working on an upgraded version of the game :)

Creed by dimlight 2020-10-07T20:34:25Z

Nice game ! The mood is cool, the character feels responsive (even if I found it a bit too slippery) and the levels are nicely done. As it has been mentioned, the rules are too hard to understand at first, and I just finished the first levels by moving forward trying to understand the game, and not even understanding how I won. So when I reached next levels I was a bit lost at the beginning haha

But a great entry overall, and 10/10 for the bouncing boobs

Wall-A Project by Martin.Delemotte 2020-10-07T11:40:50Z

Fun game :) It took me too much time to understand what I had to do (I was about to message one of you guys :p), make sure to add some tutorial level where you simply shows the player what to do so that he understands everything he needs. I also had a bug on the third level (I think it was the third one, but I can check again if you need) where the bot path was not displayed. I played last level to see if it was intentional, but apparently is was not.

The art is interesting but I'm not really a fan of the different shaders + isometric camera, it sometimes felt a bit weird looking at the game and understanding the perspective. Maybe it is just me though.

That's a cool entry overall! Is there any reason the path takes a bit of time to recompute when you plant a seed ? Not much time, but enough to have an "unresponsive feeling"

The Hanging Tree by Grommel 2020-10-07T08:07:33Z

The atmosphere is cool, but it was really hard so I decided not to go further than the first checkpoint. The mechanics are great but the game is really unforgivable, like there's no error margin when you're targetting a branch, and since you're doing it while jumping/falling and you have your camera looking completely upward, it's very very hard to aim.

Maybe you could tweak some values and make branch colliders bigger, and this would be a lot better to play! And if you do so, I'll be happy to play again :)

The Hanging Tree by Grommel 2020-10-07T14:18:35Z

@narom42 Just tried, it indeed feels much better! Obviously my opinion is biased since I played the previous version, but I really think this is better :)

Break the Loop by XeduR 2020-10-06T15:39:54Z

Nice game! Just completed it, I wish there were more levels but the ones you've done were neat and had be think for a few minutes. I especially liked the one with the "Sub" function, I don't know exactly why I had trouble getting its point because I already knew "SubString" in C#, but that was fun to find out myself by trying things!

Really neat entry :)

Tchu Tchu Stuck in a Loop by Bruyère Alice 2020-10-07T08:39:00Z

Well that was hard, but fun! I would have like the difficulty to escalate a bit smoother, it would be okay for this game to get hard very fast, but here you're only dying a few times at the beginning until you fully understand how to play. Maybe make the level design easier, the minecart slower, and display the actions one after the other so that the player is guided simply on how to play, and then you accelerate the all thing ? Despite that, as I said it was fun, the music was nice, the artstyle too :) great entry!

Looped Chaos by KDgame 2020-10-06T13:24:26Z

Nice little game ! I simply wish it has more energy, like pulsing lights, changing colors (I know there is, but this should have come earlier), more punchy music... to make it a super funny arcade game ! But also, it would only look like some copy of Super Hexagon, so maybe find some mechanic to add? The mechanic of not moving on the yellow circles is cool but you could have add simple ones like shooting on circles to open the path, or having to permanently move on another color, etc.

But overall, this was neat :)

Rewind Dungeon by FishMasterino 2020-10-07T10:46:31Z

Cute and fun game ! I only played the first few levels, so maybe what I will say is already implemented, but I wish they were more depth in levels, like 3 or 4 layers of rewind that you need to handle at once. Also, the game doesn't let a lot of time to look at the second stage of a level, so you sometimes need to just die and memorize the stage as good as you can, but this definitely should be something that you have more time for, here it's just looking everything, hoping that you'll remember everything (which is too hard).

This is a really nice and polished entry overall, thanks!

Something's Changed (Minsk 2118) by Jakob Reborn 2020-10-06T09:34:27Z

So I launched the game, I got immediatly scared by the title sound, which was not really enjoyable to be honest, sometimes it can be fun to be scared but here it was felt bad. And then I tried to play but did not really understand what to do, I clicked on the guards because the game told me I should do it but nothing happened for a few moments, and then I got flying and stuck somehow... and then the music seemed to crash, I don't know if it was intentional or not ^^

Not saying all of this to be mean, but I wan't to say that you should focus on core gameplay, basic mechanics, make them work smoothly, and then integrate them into a world like the one you created. Here I feel like you had an idea of a story, a strange universe, which is great, but this can not work, as good as it is, if the gameplay does not. I did not play more that a few minutes though so I might have missed something, but to be honest I did not really want to !

Congrats for making a game alone, and keep on working!

Time Wizard by E.E-Wick 2020-10-06T16:59:00Z

Cute game ! The art is very nice, simple and efficient. Also the walking motion and camera shakes are really neat. I wish AZERTY controls was implemented so I could play the game easier, but I still enjoyed it.

Airstralian by ThunderSalt 2020-10-07T15:08:53Z

Not sure if I'm bad at the game of it is truly unforgivable. Probably both haha. That was an enjoyable experience despite of the difficulty, maybe a bit too linear, but it is very beautiful and the music is relaxing. Also the game is polished on all aspects as well as the presentation, which is very important so great job on that!

LD58 — Collector

Trailside Mycologist by klausklapper 2025-10-07T11:28:24Z

Really like the mood here, the artstyle is very nice and fits the game perfectly imho. I wish there were a bit more to do without having to walk a lot before encountering stuff to take picture of, and a smaller world as it's a jam game so I'm not sure a large world really fits the jam spirit. Also, maybe a way of seeing my pictures, zooming the camera in/out, etc. would be cool. I know time is limited during a jam so it's way easier said than done, obviously, but just sharing my thoughts about what I think would have make it a better entry :)

Anyway, I had a great time! Congrats.

Souvenir from Earth by Saering 2025-10-07T07:12:30Z

@gwhyang @michlau Thank you very much for your nice comments! :)

We used the .NET version of Godot which sadly does not support web export. I'll be adding a message on the game page because I guess more people will ask for it.

Souvenir from Earth by Saering 2025-10-07T11:33:45Z

@marcherin Thank you! I bet they enjoyed their trip, at least if you didn't catch a bomb ;) The web version cannot be done as we used Godot 4 .NET, that does not support web exporting. I know it's a shame for a jam, but really there's nothing we can do here, to my regret :(

@le-don The randomness is indeed an issue, while playtesting we sometimes lost due to the spawn system not being kind. I was suppose to update the spawn code for that, but you know, not that much time to spend on it and since it's a jam entry, we considered it was okay, despite being a possible frustration source. I also agree on the full screen note. Thank you for playing!

Wizard of toilets by BadPiggy 2025-10-08T07:30:17Z

Very cool game! Took me 2 tries to beat it, which I think is perfect: not too easy, not too hard either for a jam game. I wish there was a bit less text on start as I don't really like reading lines of tutorial, but at least the game waits for the player to kill the first goblin before it starts. Also, maybe a bit more feedback on the difference between killing goblins by shooting at them or flushing would have been great.

Other than that, I had a great time playing, congratulations!

Empty Voice by Asieke 2025-10-07T11:05:52Z

The game is beautiful, and the music is weirdly addictive, I like it.

Overall I think the main issue is the lack of feedback: attacking mobs does nothing apart from pushing them away (no damage feedback, no screen shake, or something), and same goes for the boss, it's very hard to understand how you get hit and what are its attack hitboxes.

The movement is very slow, which can be frustrating considering you have to walk through all the level to get to the boss again. The dash helps a lot as it has no cooldown and travels a nice distance, but the base movement speed should definitely be increased.

Anyway, always easy to point out the negative points, but overall the game is cool and a solid entry for a solo dev! Congratulations!

Alien Abduction by ideletemyself 2025-10-09T11:06:56Z

Nice little entry! Using the beam is pretty satisfying, I wish the bullets were a bit bigger so that you could see them better, and obviously a bit more feedback on the health, the score, etc., but other than that, it's enjoyable to play!

I like the Wilhelm scream, having done a similar game, I can assure you that we thought of using it but ended up not. Maybe we should have

Space Cleaner by Cahard 2025-10-09T11:32:26Z

That's a very cool entry, probably one of my favorites so far. The idea is cool, it's well executed, it's pretty. I wish there was a bit more attention paid to game feel, like particles behind the ship, a more dramatic effect when accelerating into an asteroid, the UI being a bit more reactive to what happens in the game, etc. that would have make the game much more polished. I **love** the screen shake when accelerating, it's very well done. I know this is time consuming and that time is a limited resource here, obviously. But, I don't really like the 3 upgrades system, I feel like it's everywhere in games these days and your game is already enjoyable to play without it, so I wish it was even more enjoyable to play without relying on that upgrade feature.

Anyway, overall it's a very solid submission, congratulations!

Spells and Dwells by Wishes 2025-10-07T11:15:48Z

Cool little entry, I wish there were more to do, but I know it's a jam and time is a very limited resource! I personally like not having much instructions, as the game can be played easily, the controls are simple, so you can just move around and try to understand the world, which is enjoyable, but I understand the feedback of people saying a few more instructions would be cool, especially for a jam game in which players will not spend much time playing.

The art is nice and music is nice, it's a shame that the character's sprite ordering is behaving wrong because it really is detrimental to the overall look of the game.

Anyway, congratulations for the entry! :)

P.S.: you should remove the downloadable files from the jam page as they only contain the .exe file, which is not enough for Unity games. I had to go to the itch page to get the full archive. Some people may not be used to how Unity build files work, so that could be confusing.

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Super Soup Slicer by chriiis88 2018-04-25T18:30:45Z

Funny game! Maybe too repetitive, you could add some features like moving the cooking pot or something like that, but still, it was cool to play ! (I also loved the pots' faces and the music :D)

Rapid Fire by Anubhav Kashyap 2018-04-24T08:03:30Z

Couldn't reach first platform, I don't know if I'm doing something wrong but I'm sad I can't go further! Still cool visual and cool character, keep it going! :D

Rapid Fire by Anubhav Kashyap 2018-04-25T13:01:52Z

@anubhav-kashyap It's better when you can play :D what you should try to do is improve the camera view, it's a real problem when you jump and you can't see where you're going to land, and also let the player see a bit further in front of him (in the second level that was really annoying).

Still, the graphics and audio are cool, as I already said the character is great too, keep it up :)

LD59 — Signal

Signal Manager by A Little Red Panda 2026-04-22T12:12:06Z

Very lovely game! I wish there was a bit of audio, the aesthetic is really pleasing so some background music with electronical sound would have made the mood amazing. I felt it was a bit easy as you have all the time you need to find the right values, so it's more of a small experience than a challenging game, which is okay, but there's no real replayability. I wish I could enter the numbers myself during the second phase to be more precise, but I still got more than 90% accuracy and readable signals, so it's perfectly fine!

Congratulations!

Lil' Lost SPARK-Es by fractalsunrise 2026-04-22T08:19:16Z

Hi! The idea is interesting, I wish the movement was designed around tiles instead of being free, as it lead to collision issues (like SAM not being able to move because of the SPARK-Es that you also control, so you cannot move one sideways to free the other) and sometimes the level not being doable by a few pixels which is frustrating. The thing is, due to its level design and appareance, the game looks like a puzzle game that is tile based, so it's a bit weird to me not moving tile by tile. But anyway, it still works nicely and the puzzle design is pretty cool, I enjoyed solving most of them!

The music is a bit repetitive and I don't really like the puzzle completion sound, I wish it was something more electronical, to fit the robots theme a bit more.

Congratulations!

Dr. Cool Whale Against The Electronicles by Yorsh 2026-04-23T07:36:57Z

Very nice entry! At first I was not moving at all, only trying to adjust the signal, and once I started to move, the mouse distance was way harder to control but it was pretty satisfying to do. I felt like sometimes the enemies were turning red but I could not keep the signal long enough to kill them as I was moving and dodging at the same time, which could be frustrating sometimes, but overall I like the mechanic, the upgrade system is interesting (not always a big fan of 3 upgrades system in jams but here I thought it was convenient) and it's polished! I wish the signal sound was a bit louder, I was hearing the music more than the signal although it's the most important audio cue of the game.

Overall very solid! Congrats!

@fifut @pfeyffer @flowerfield-games @kanity @tanjou @tuomass

Thanks everyone!

Really glad you enjoyed the game aesthetics and mood! It's obviously something we put the emphasis on, so I'm very happy it's paying off. We initially thought of adding moving or rotation asteroids in the game to make it more challenging, which could also make the speed boost a bit more convenient than it is right now, but seeing that some people find the game difficult already, I'd say it's a good thing we did not implement that

Kuiper Space Rescue by Saering 2026-04-21T10:12:01Z

@toshiy @draki @olddog @j3m Thanks for playing and for the nice comments! The game is indeed rather short, though we thought that's okay for a jam entry.

@j3m You're right, I've read the rules 8 years ago ( :older_man_tone2: ) and I was sure that being rated in audio was okay with premade assets, compared to compo submissions in which everything has to be done during the jam. Fixed that, thanks for pointing the mistake out!

@ilya-kr You're not stupid, the game doesn't have any kind of tutorial so the feeling of not knowing what to do is not that surprising imho. Thanks for playing though!

Kuiper Space Rescue by Saering 2026-04-23T21:33:09Z

@steinhks Thanks!

@lcstark Thank you very much! Adding a time score at the end would indeed have been a nice addition making the speed bonus more interesting. I think we implemented such a feature because it sounded like a good idea for a game where you control a spaceship, then we realized it was not that great considering there's no need to rush, but we did not remove it for some reason, probably because it still added some gameplay content :) Definitely a legit feedback though, I totally agree!

Kuiper Space Rescue by Saering 2026-04-25T17:01:28Z

@flame017 @digital-bacon Thank you!

@hiretsu @oscarchitect I definitely understand that the slow pace of the game isn't working for everyone. I believe that making the game more fast paced could have been interesting, though some people already found the game a bit hard and enjoyed it not being too fast so that they could beat it in a few tries which is fine for jam game imho. Balancing a jam game perfectly is not easy, as you probably know already! Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying your feedback is invalid, just giving some thoughts about it! Thanks for playing though! Appreciate it.

Kuiper Space Rescue by Saering 2026-04-27T12:50:40Z

@bobap Thanks! The nearest satellite indicator was confused for a clock a lot. It was too late for us finding a completely new solution, so we ended up adding some flashing, but I guess that was not the perfect UX idea

Kuiper Space Rescue by Saering 2026-04-30T08:02:24Z

@pipetto Thank you! Well, there's no tutorial of any kind, so I can understand the confusion. Hopefully the visual and audio feedback are enough to understand that the dots are walls, but maybe the game could have been more clear! At some point during the jam we thought of having no health system to make the game more challenging. I suppose we were right adding some hearts to make this kind of confusion less frustrating than it would have been with a one shot system

Mysterious moon Signal by thegreatpl 2026-04-20T13:03:11Z

Hi!

Sharing some thoughts about the game: - Changing the mouse sensitivity is mandatory in such a game, however it would have been perfect to have the option in a pause menu, so that you can try to default game sensitivity to adjust it. - The dirt level was very hard to play as it kind of made my sick looking at it, a bit like motion sickness does. Having some sense of depth using fog, or a different color for ground/roof would help. I can understand that the art direction uses an unlit shader, which works very nicely in the first levels, but the dirt area was unpleasing. - I don't think I've seen any health feedback, so I died without knowing that I was low on health. Could be a health bar, hearts or a redish feedback on screen for when you're low on health, but any feedback would have help understanding the current health of the playable character. - Not sure why there's a jump mechanic, but I may have died before having the need to use it.

Other than that, I think it's a cool looking game (apart from the dirt level as said above), I like this kind of art direction and it suits the genre well. Congrats!

MIXLAKE by Raivk 2026-04-22T08:41:31Z

What an entry! It's a shame it's not playable in browser because a lot of people would love it. The mood is insanely well done, everything is well polished, like, even the weather buttons have a great feeling. I wish I could grab the radio handle and turn it quicker and quicker by moving my mouse in circle, to give it an actual fishing feeling, but that's pretty much my only complaint, overall the entry is impressive and I truly enjoyed discovering it.

Also I discovered Teagher Studio which I'm happy about, as a French fellow! Félicitations :)

BOLERO by tpsy 2026-04-20T17:17:41Z

Cute little game! Found the exit in 1:17! I feel like it was a bit too easy maybe, I mostly went forward in the music direction and the path did not require me to do any large deviation. Maybe the noise sound could come in a narrower angle so that you have to focus more on the audio, or add some filtering on the music based on the distance. Could also be multiple radios across the maze that you have to find one by one, and turn them off to go to the next one: same mechanic, but less straightforward level. Easier said than done, obviously, I'm just sharing ideas! :)

I enjoyed it overall. Also nice choice of music!

Holy Light by Tvorojok 2026-04-23T14:29:20Z

Hi, there must be something I'm missing, I've been trying to beat the first battle a few times but cannot manage to do anything? I've read that the mouse buttons are used to attack and shield but I don't really see any effect. The battle is taking a bit long to start when trying again as you have to walk again to the enemies, which was awesome at first since the atmosphere is so good, but became a bit frustrating at the end. The game seems great, I wish there's something obivous I did not understand that you can explain to me, so that I can try it again later on!

Holy Light by Tvorojok 2026-04-23T14:56:40Z

@tvorojok Thanks for the explanation, I did not realize there was one guy I could control. The game is indeed much better knowing that :D Pretty cool experience overall, I felt it was a bit long to walk, but I guess it's part of the long and painful walk experience that's a build up to the game ending which totally had me haha

Very nice entry, congratulations!

The Terraformer by Cloverfall 2026-04-20T14:46:53Z

Cute little game! I struggled a lot at first with the camera and character controls, but I know that spherical movement is not easy to pull off. I wish there was buttons on screen to do the different actions, as I had to scroll down the page to check the controls, which is a bummer. Other than that, I enjoyed planting things around the planet, and I like the mood of the game. The voice can be repetitive after some time, mostly because voice lines can overlap.

Congratulations for the entry!

Téloche by Magalix 2026-04-21T07:53:01Z

Hi!

Fun little entry, I got caught by the name as a french person, and I'm not disappointed. I did not understand exactly how I was supposed to play, at first I used punches which seemed like the way to go, but I could find the right signal so I used the sliders which makes the game fairly easy, but that kind of defeats the whole point of the game?

The main issue, imho, is that the 3 punches are random (that's what it seems to me, at least). For instance, you could have one that randomizes the color, one that randomizes the noise, and a third one that increases the spacing between the 2 other signals. I don't know if that would work, but what I'm saying is that, there would be some logic to understand for the player to try playing with punches instead of using the sliders.

Being able to use the TV buttons instead of sliders would have been a truly great addition, I know it's easier said than done, but seeing those buttons and not being able to use them is a bit frustrating

Anyway, overall I enjoyed playing your game, and I love the idea! Bravo !

Space Supremacy by Pixel Studios 2026-04-21T20:35:19Z

Very nice and fun! I like the aesthetics and the fact that it's straightforward to play, it gives the game a nice vibe. Main issue would be that there's no visible bullet and no feedback on damage received, and no way to heal, so the game is basically about moving forward and keeping the shoot button pressed. Other than that, there may be some polishes to do like not using the 'C' key for an interaction when 'E' was use previously, avoid shooting when clicking on an interface button, this kind of stuff. Congrats :)

Connect by BruceZoom 2026-04-20T14:32:31Z

Very satisfying and enjoyable experience, and a very nice take on the theme! I wish the UX was a bit more polished, I struggled a lot moving the objects around, most of the time it drew cables out of the objects instead. The sound effects can be a bit repetitive and annoying, especially the high pitched ones. And I agree on what's been said about the camera that should be able to zoom out a bit more to see everything.

The wireless connection system was a very cool twist too!

Overall I really love your entry, congratulations!

Many Wearing Rapiers are Afraid of Goosequills by j3m 2026-04-21T09:46:51Z

Amazing visuals and mood, and very interesting take on the theme! The thing is, I feel kinda dumb but I don't understand how I'm supposed to decipher the letters, I went through the first day a few times trying to understand how it worked but could not find a logic. Is there something obvious that I've missed, or are the signal very well hidden inside the letters? Maybe I'm not a good castle protector after all :joy:

It was a nice experience overall, and I'll play it again with pleasure with more info on how to play!

Call of Depths by Nnican 2026-04-21T08:05:51Z

Hi, the mood of the game is very, very well done, but sadly there's just nothing happening, right? I thing I got attacked, I repaired my second camera, and then nothing else happened ever. I reach a depth of -1500 (I suppose it's depth), pressed all buttons, even found the G key to trigger camera shake haha, but never got attacked again or had any of my engine systems needing a repair. I feel a bit frustrated because I loved the game description and the atmosphere is on point, soooo I wish there's something I missed than you could explain so that I play the game again! Anyway, congrats for the entry :)

Little Mina: Behind the Screen by IDos 2026-04-22T14:00:45Z

Very atmospheric and an interesting storytelling. Also the game is very beautiful, I like the aesthetics. Maybe adding some glitchy or more "artistic" transitions between level would have been, because the transitions are a bit harsh and can break the immersion. Adding subtitles would have been great too, or at least inform that playing with headphones is adviced (I'd even say mandatory here), subtitles could also help for people struggling to understand english. I'm not sure I fully understood what the story was about, I guess it's to be expected with games like this, at least it was intriguing and I enjoyed discovering the different stages and ambiances. The televisions corridors work really well visually, I loved it. Maybe something more creepy, like eyes in the screens appearing when the girl is nearby, could have been a nice addition (though maybe a bit too cliché).

Anyway, overall a solid entry! Congratulations!

Emoji Signal Tank by yuwei 2026-04-20T11:23:19Z

Cute little game! At first I thought there was nothing more than the buttons, so I was happy finding out that not clearing the tank water by adding oxygen had a negative side effect. I enjoyed spamming the keys to fill the tank with many things and looking at the simulation. It felt a bit like torturing letting the fishes die in dirty water though, but overall a nice little experience!

(Un)Authorized by Byte Bark 2026-04-21T20:44:09Z

Nice game! The main issue imho would be the lack of clarity for some gameplay elements, mostly the detection cones that should be way more visible, and the timer that's sometimes barely readable. Other than that, levels are clever, and dialogues are a nice help to know what to do, while not giving the solution right away. Some visual issues on ordering too, but overall a cool little game!

Hi! Nice little game, I like the idea and the aesthetics. The main issue is the lack of feedback. First thing that comes to mind is the enemies not showing any visual cue once damaged, and the bullets go through them so there's no way to know the shooting works. Also, taking damage or digging should have more feedback, especially with an artstyle like this where you can make sprites blink, tint them with a solid color or something, which is simple yet very effective. Also the SFX are a bit too loud and very harsh, you could tone them down a little.

Overall I enjoyed playing the game!

Signal Tower Delivery by Jikazushi 2026-04-23T15:18:29Z

Cool little game! I went to level 11 and could not manage to beat it. Are the level randomly generated, or do all level have a solution that you've tried? Anyway, other than that this is pretty cool, the simple artstyle works great although it could have a bit of animations like objects bouncing with some particles to give it a bit more life. When going to the next level, the game should go back to the edit state as it looks like it's broken; you enter a level, you try to select a building but you cannot because you're not in edit state, which is weird since you don't have anything else to do but edit on a new level start.

Great job overall!

Hi, I could never hear anything at all, I may have misunderstood something, but after trying for some time aligning my selection with the signals I had on screen, nothing ever happened. I played the itch version. I guess I've done something wrong but it's a shame nothing happens even when the signal is not aligned, like a noise sound to at least know something is happening under the hood and that I'm reaching, or not, the good signal.

Very nice entry, the atmosphere is on point, gameplay is simple and clear, overall I really enjoyed it. I wished the light was a little bigger sometimes as it was tideous guiding souls near the character, and I could not beat the 7th level, I'm not sure how I'm supposed to do it, maybe I'm missing something but I'm just getting overwhelmed by miasmas. Also maybe 7 level is bit much for a jam entry as it's a bit repetitive, the mechanics added across the levels are nice, but imho 4 or 5 levels would have make it more enjoyable to play again.

Congrats!

Hi! Nice entry, I enjoyed playing it :) The art is nice, the audio is nice, and the take on the theme is interesting. My complaints would be the icons displaying the incoming dangers that didn't feel in their right place, I believe that focusing on audio only or visual signs in the environment would have been way better for immersion, although I can understand that adding UI icons ensures the game is easier to play as a game jam entry, and playable by people playing w/o sound. The jump could have been a little bit nicer, I sometimes has trouble jumping from the small moving platforms and fell to my death, luckily you're being generous with checkpoints which I appreciated a lot. Last thing is the acorn counter that's reseting after each death, I'm not sure why you did that because it made the acorn less interesting to collect as I expected to die a lot in the game (since the game is pretty much about that and that there are lots of checkpoints), and backtracking to collect previous acorns is definitely not something intended here.

Anyway, all of that is easier said than done, but overall it's a very cool entry!
