...uhhhhhhhhhh the game isn't published on LD, how did you get here? It's not even done...
@teo989
@teo989 Now it's online if you still want to play!
@mathstr0fficial Ohh ok thanks. I saw some of your post and you already had a link so I thought it was ready. Sorry :)
Your game represented the theme really well. Your literally sell your life/organs (great idea). I love the uncertainty of not knowing when your going to die. The only thing I would suggest is maybe a slightly different colour palate as the greens and browns looked a little dull in my opinion. But otherwise really cool game.
@connell Thanks! The colors were actually much brighter when I originally coded it, but near the end of the compo I added a low-opacity black overlay to dim everything and add to the spooky factor. It worked, but it also took away from the graphics, and I wish I hadn't now that I look at it. Too late to fix it now though :/
Very fun little game! I'm not sure if I got softlocked, but I got to a point where no organs would spawn but people would still give offers? Or is that supposed to be game over? Anyways, I liked it. Good job.
@emcannon That's an unfortunate side effect of how I manage the generation of organs. If you keep clicking, eventually an organ will show up. Game over is *very* obvious.
Ah I see... Whoops.
"an orc in the black market selling his own organs for a profit" Okay, I LOLd  nice job
@kuro Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
At first I was a little confused, maybe the text isn't outlined well.
Also, the white screen with that loud sound made me shit bricks ahaha
nice compo entry, in the overall it works and it doesn't have major game breaking bugs
I had fun!
thanks for your work!
@memel06 If you don't mind my asking, what exactly were you confused about? And did you read the description/instructions before playing?
@mathsr0official i was a little confused to identify the position and the role of UI elements as well as the text itself.
Just a font thing, maybe too pixelated :)
@memel06 Ok, well that's good to have in mind in the case that I work on this more after rating. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Really great representation of the theme. Love that feeling of trying to hold on as long as possible as you slowly lose.
"Your life is currency", well I think you cannot be as much in the theme than you did haha. The game is funny, a bit scary actually, there's no music, it is pretty dark, and the face of the orc is creepy, but it's not bad at all! Maybe make it a bit clearer, more feedbacks, some dialogues to give some life to the game, and it would be a bit better! But it is a great entry overall, I liked it!
@jkazuk Thank you! Your game is added to my to-play list!
@saering Thanks for your feedback! Do you specifically mean no music or is audio bugged in general? I realize now that the dullness of the main game is a bit much, but I'm glad you enjoyed it! I'll take a look at your game tomorrow!
@mathstr0fficial No music :) the orc's dullness is not a problem, it suits the character well in my opinion, I would have just work on this to make it exaggerated and funny !
Soo I finally got time to play it and I liked it! Good job, I think the game is well made for what it's supposed to be. I like the fact that from looking on the organs I know what they are even without any description. Good job :)
@saering I think it suits the character well too, but I just felt as though it didn't need to be over the entire layout. Anyway, I appreciate the feedback!
@teo989 Thanks! The organs are probably my favorite part graphics-wise, I'm glad you liked them!
Interesting game, however, I would add some meter of days or generally the time that we managed to survive.
@pusheeneiro I do have a score counter on the death screen, though I suppose it's not really clear what that score is. It's exactly what you're talking about, a number that signifies how many lives you lost without dying. I'll take a look at your game soon!
Good idea and a decent implementation. I see my self enjoying this game much more if there was more info on the screen - if I would know the price of "goods" without clicking and remembering it. Also few ideas if you decide to work on this game some more... Selling more organs to the buyer or having few offers at the same time, also maybe having images of organs in the offer instead of just the name. All in all it's a nice game, and a great implementation of the theme. Maybe the best one I've seen so far.
@mags Thanks! I really am happy with this game, so there's a high likelihood I continue work on it after LD. I wish I could have more info on the screen, but my resolution being what it is, I couldn't fit much more on-screen without covering over anything. But thank you for all your suggestions!
Actually your submission sticks to the theme, well done! :-) The game is easy to understand, so I could just start playing, great! In the end I could not grasp the concept of organs re-appearing and missed some kind of real goal -- the orc would have lived longer if I did nothing. Maybe add some twist which requires action.
Haha! I actually made a game in a similar theme, you also harvest and sell your own body parts! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/44/self-surgeon
I also played your game, I must be honest, after selling all my organs and purchasing another life (I guess it's another life?), I think I could go forever. Maybe I did not get the main goal of the game?
@cee-dee Thanks! When the organs re-appear, that means that you've moved on to another life, where you can sell all 6 organs again and eventually buy extra lives with the money you've made. My original idea was to limit the number of turns you had after selling your first organ, but... time restraints.
@chuckeles I suspected a similar game would exist, not expecting high in Innovation. It is indeed another life, but if you play long enough, you will eventually run out of money. I suppose you didn't quite play long enough, but I don't blame you, you want to get to as many games as possible. I'll check yours out soon!
Good compo entry.
**Positive things: **
- nice graphics - polished for a compo entry - fits the theme
**Negative things: **
- “BUY HPUP” button hard to read and understand without the instructions
Solid and fun entry. Well done!
@rahtainka Thanks! I watched back the stream (hard to understand without knowing German, but I got the idea) and I appreciate your feedback! I'll get to your game now!
That explosion sound scared the hell out of me the first time it occurred...
I got a high score of 3  I like how I managed to sell my own brain about 4 times before I died. Really strong on the theme, although I agree with others that the text was hard to read.
One of the more unique takes on the theme I've seen this whole game jam, probably one of the best usages of it, and the pixel art is great! Only knock I'd give is on the sound for the jumpscare-level effects of the explosion sound, but otherwise a very solid entry.
okay game I would have liked some kind of score to see how well I'm doing though.
I've played this game in a video.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xDIFZyRjY8
I think that the sound effects are too good.
@jorbits That was the point..? I probably should've turned it down, but here we are I guess.
@seconddimension Thanks! Text is an issue I'm very aware of and planning to fix very soon, look forward to that!
@kirbloid Thanks! The explosion (or thunder as it actually is) is definitely too loud, I realize that now. Art was definitely a main focus for me, considering the simplicity of the game itself, I'm glad you liked it!
@sparkysam5 Thanks for the feedback. There is a score on the lose screen, maybe you missed it (or you mean during actual gameplay).
@franciszek-pyrc Thanks for the video! There's a reason the wind sounds like whistling: it actually is me whistling into the mic. In fact, all of the SFX were recorded with my mouth and a microphone excluding the coin sound for selling organs.
Thank you for submitting your game to be played on my stream!
Once the stream is finished you can find the video here: https://www.twitch.tv/ursagames/videos If you want to know when it was played you can find your game in the queue here: https://tinyurl.com/y5rdokvp
@ursagames Thanks for the stream! Your feedback is super useful in making this the best it can be! Since you were wondering, you die once you sell all 6 unique organs, it has nothing to do with the harvesting mechanic. I appreciate you taking the time to cover so many games, I'll head over to yours very soon!
Funny game! I liked the mechanics and found it satisfyingand engaging to play. The graphics are good and...did you made all the sound fx yourself? :D The only thing I would change is that the whole screen looks a bit dark and low contrast, so the active areas don't really pop out.
@tommyflower Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it! Yes, all of the sound effects (excluding the selling effect, which was made by just dropping some loose change on a desk) were made with my mouth and my microphone. Not sure I could recreate them, but they're there. I'm fully aware the darkness is a problem, I added it at the last second and regretted it as soon as I published, but there's not much I can do at this point.
Interesting concept, Very fitting to the theme. I think the Death mechanic should be explained as I really had no idea what the risk was :/ all in all a good game :D
really enjoyed the game, the sound effects really added to the mood of the game. the visuals were pleasing and the mechanics were well implemented. all in all a good submission
The idea and execution were on point, I like the atmosphere that the whistling-- I mean WIND gives to the game. The colors were a little bit too dark for my tastes, but even then they did add to the feel. I felt an odd need to rush things while playing, even though there was no point in doing that. Weird, isn't it?
There's not really that much to say about this one, just a mechanically simple game that doesn't overstay its welcome and manages to fit under the theme quite well. Good job!
Sidenote, what's with the white flashy-boom-boom stuff? Is that supposed to be thunderbolt and lightning? Cause it is very very frightening me!
@fear-games @matthew-hrehirchuk Thanks for the feedback!
@corny Yes, the flashing is indeed lightning. I've played so much of my yet-to-be-released post-LD version that I completely forgot the colors were so dark, it's fixed in the new update since I totally agree that they're too dark. I feel the rush too, even as the developer, which makes no sense and actually makes you perform worse. Odd how that works, maybe it's the fact that you're literally selling your organs? Anyway, thanks for all of your feedback!
Here's an idea; The rush is definitely a thing (I felt it too), so why *don't* you add a timer? Like, you're bleeding out after you sell your first organ and you need to sell your other organs fast? That would add a little bit more depth to the game, I think. Just a thought!
