LD24 — Evolution

Bit by Bit by braneof 2012-08-30T19:25:00

Couldn't figure this out at all, sorry

Shape the World! by Cyboot 2012-08-29T22:17:00

Similar to the first level of Spore, but in some ways better, as your abilities are directly related to your shape. Excellent way of dealing with evolution and creature editing. Nice audio and atmosphere

VENA (Viral Evolution: Nano Attack) by Dakota 2012-08-27T18:25:00

Not sure if I didn't get far enough but some extra weapons or powerups would have been good, it seems like the enemies would have changed if I got further though? The controls felt good, really responsive.

Terra Tam: The World Warrior by L 2012-09-12T21:58:00

So much imagination here, nice design too. I think my life is better with this in it, so thank you

Ikaruga Devolved by ChronoDK 2012-08-27T18:56:00

Great controls, the dodging was good and I liked the colour changing mechanic. Made it interesting to play

Ages of Irving by Deconstructeam 2012-09-17T22:43:00

This is excellent, really good atmosphere only lacking some decent audio. The gameplay was difficult but very interesting, I had real fun trying to figure out how to handle each of the guys. I hope you keep working on this

Doug Bones - Fossil Collector by wibblymat 2012-08-29T15:58:00

Nice feel to the jumping, although a bit frustrating for me. Your original idea was crazy ambitious! Good work for a 15-hour game jam

Total argument by Qaterknan 2012-09-05T20:06:00

Wow this was insane, but in a good way. Who doesn't enjoy sending a T-Rex to punch a nun in the face? Lots of content here, I think a mini-RTS with different units and tech-tree is very impressive in 72hrs. I like the theme too, but then I'm a Darwin extremist

The Singularity is Here! by josefnpat 2012-09-17T22:12:00

So hard, I think your game was punishing me for the bad things I've done (how do you know about those?) Seriously this was great, a nice game experience with the extra polish; nice UI, menus, options etc. I really liked the Star Fox team aspect as well, good voice acting and overall characterisation. I always like games with distinctive characters, especially when they have slightly different stats or gameplay.

Besugo by fanatiko 2012-09-17T19:13:00

Always like games set in the ocean, I think it needs a bit more content but the sprites and audio are really good. You get extra points for me being a seabream and not just a generic fish!

I'd Change the World for You by Zanzlanz 2012-08-27T21:07:00

Nice platformer and good level-changing mechanic. The audio was fantastic too; gave it a really feeling of momentum. In fact having the blocks move in time with the music would have been cool. Good job overall

A Game of Towns by homelinen 2012-08-30T18:48:00

Always interesting to watch these type of simulations

Selectra by lazybraingames 2012-09-12T21:35:00

I got to the end boss but I was so powered up that it took ages to charge my shot, which was tough. Still overall fantastic game, one of favourites in terms of having a nice consistent visual style.

Cosmogonie by Spotline 2012-09-05T19:47:00

Really great atmosphere, a nice place to spend some time. Audio and visuals worked well together. Excellent overall. I liked the artsy approach but equally would love to play a more traditional game that looked and sounded like this

LD24 X0ut by X-0ut 2012-09-12T23:00:00

Cuuuuubes! This was a really solid and fun shooter, well implemented and a nice minimalist style. Great work

Eludare Virus by Kendja 2012-08-29T21:32:00

I enjoyed the simulation side of this, it was quite hard to affect the game enough to win, but I liked the idea of making creatures immune to other strains or killing them etc. High marks for theme and innovation

Hunt'em! by Zamando 2012-09-12T22:05:00

Beautiful game, I kind of wanted more time to soak up the atmosphere. I think an expanded game with this setting and creature design would be fantastic, if you weren't running all the time there would be a real sense of wonder as you explored and discovered the creatures

Fluff by someone 2012-08-29T21:19:00

I know you said this only took 14 hours, and you can tell it's not finished, but I still think it's really good. When I got those little legs and realised I could walk up walls, that was cool!

Richard Dawkins' Magnificent Microcosm of Mechanically Mutational Evolution! by JMRante 2012-09-17T21:53:00

I liked the exploration nature of this, it was a strange place full of interesting things. Like others I was a bit put off but a lot of deaths early on, but the quicksave thing does help with that. Music was good and added to the feel of the game as well

Pincers by ggiraldez 2012-08-28T17:51:00

It felt similar to the first level of Spore, but I think it was very well done and fits the theme perfectly. I enjoyed playing this one

mintys by mitkus 2012-09-17T21:40:00

The concept and the audio gave this a nice atmosphere, I wasn't very good at it though; like real life my ideas seemed pretty good but my productivity was destroyed by playing video games...

The Best Dinosaur by TomSmizzle 2012-09-12T21:44:00

Interesting idea, I wish I wasn't so terrible so I could be the best dinosaur. I thought this showed some good game design, great imagination and a lot of humour. Nice work

Go Go Ninja Dinosaur by SpacialNinja 2012-08-29T22:33:00

Just shouted to my wife in the other room, "Hey honey, I'm a Dinosaur and I'm Ninja kicking a bunch of asteroids to save the mice!"
Thanks for giving me that opportunity

Adaptation : large or small by FlowerPower 2012-08-30T18:59:00

I would have liked more fluid controls, but I thought this was a great concept. I think if the idea was developed further and linked with an interesting visual style, then this could be a great little game

Bitolution Love by tronster 2012-08-28T19:07:00

If anyone knew what was happening I'd like to know, a somewhat compelling atmosphere but mostly confusion

Kill It by Mythalore 2012-09-17T19:40:00

This made me happy and sad all at once, it does highlight some of our problems as a species, but with some humour. Nice little idea, and I think it fits the theme really well; human evolution is full of us just mindlessly killing things

@#$% Life! I'm the god damn SUN. by Phobos001 2012-08-30T18:42:00

Really cool idea, fun to play, nice clean art style. Top marks

Static by aquasheep 2012-09-05T19:30:00

Interesting app; I enjoyed the brightness tool the most, thought you got some good effects with that. I drew a lot of flowers for some reason...

Obsolete Upgrade by RARoadkill 2012-09-05T20:22:00

Cool idea, I liked the little text faces the computer made in the opening sequence. Beating up toasters was also fun. Every fitted together really well

Evolution of the Flying Pinatas by Zelen3d 2012-08-29T22:07:00

Yeah I liked this one, bit of rush when they all multiply at the start, then quite fun trying to back them into corners and clear the lab, then a good chase tofinish off the last few

Life of a Worm by tomsik68 2012-08-28T18:38:00

Aagh I want to be a Monkey, stupid humans! Yes this was good fun, thanks!

Super Darwin by sev_inf 2012-08-28T18:04:00

Fantastic visuals

Evolution Stew by vede 2012-08-27T21:41:00

Great idea! I love seeing the creature at the end, and figuring stuff out like the Jackhammer and jetpack

RUN RUN AMOEBA by tigerj 2012-09-17T21:37:00

Controls and difficulty destroyed me unfortunately, but I really liked the music

Chaotic God by wilverine 2012-08-30T19:47:00

Thumbs up to the paleontologist sprite, that guy was an adorable 8bit mining machine. Good fun idea, enjoyed it

DNA by KEFIR 2012-08-28T17:17:00

Wow, I loved it when I got legs. First of this year's games I've played that has really felt like I have evolved through my actions in the game

Stevie Asteroid Rescues the Hovercredits by KHANanaphone 2012-08-28T17:59:00

I was really enjoying it until it got too hard, felt like I was fighting the controls a bit. Still I like the way the graphics and challenged evolved, and that it evolved with you learning the platform.

Diverge by patrickgh3 2012-09-05T20:44:00

This was so awesome, played it to the end and enjoyed every second. The movement was solid and the idea behind evolving different abilities to get the stars was inspired (plus I found the easter egg, yes!). It was exactly right in terms of combining logic puzzles and platforming. Seriously, well done, top marks from me

Bots Vs Fleshbags by vicethal 2012-08-29T15:50:00

Good first effort, looking forward to seeing your game for the next Ludum Dare. Keep at it!

Vegetal Evolution by Toastation 2012-08-27T18:43:00

Interesting and different idea. it was really tough having to go off the screen though.. I couldn't get pas the first level

Candevolution by commanderstitch 2012-09-05T20:56:00

Couldn't get past the fat guys, just too hard for me. Still I really liked the atmosphere, felt similar to the old single room platformers like Manic Miner.

Yellow Dog by Barry Abrams 2012-08-28T18:56:00

Good dog (pats on head)

Unstable Planet by HunLyxxod 2012-08-28T19:29:00

Nice platformer, I played for ages to watch the level evolves, it kind of lulled me into a trance (in a good way)

Swarm by Will Xyen 2012-08-29T13:35:00

I was confused by the menus, not sure exactly what I had to do to progress. Having said that I really liked the idea of the gameplay, running away from stuff was fun.

Growth by Rellikiox 2012-09-17T21:15:00

I liked the top-down gameplay, the idea of choosing only 1 evolution was cool too

Darwin Fitotherapy by Rorkien 2012-08-28T18:45:00

What a strange little game, I like it but I can't explain why...

Nom's Evolvathlon by bvanschooten 2012-08-28T20:06:00

If Only I'd known about Q! I really enjoyed playing that, evolution system worked really well and lots of variety

Geometry Evolution by monz 2012-08-29T17:49:00

Nice idea, good take on the theme

kinetic dream by mdkess 2012-09-12T21:18:00

I really enjoyed this one, played it for longer than a lot of the games I've tried. The minimalist style worked well, I thought the mood was good. Fun shooter overall, very nice work

Outside of the Test Tube by ramoncb 2012-08-27T20:51:00

Had a few issues with placing my towers, but once I got them down it all worked well

Augment to advance by littleball 2012-08-27T19:23:00

Looks and sounds very good, I like the idea of evolving your skills to complete the levels, way too hard for me though

Dr. Helix by SecondDimension 2012-08-27T01:17:00

Hi, thanks for the feedback. I ran out of DNA myself a few times when testing, so at the last minute I changed it slightly - when you die and and restart a level your DNA gets topped up again to give you a fighting chance. The only way to get more DNA is to evolve the flowers, but you need DNA to do that, probably should have thought of that!

Dr. Helix by SecondDimension 2012-08-27T19:44:00

Thanks so much for the feedback, seems like it runs fine for most people, but a few issues. If anyone has problems though I'd be interested to know what you're running it on. Sorry there's no Mac/Linux support.

@ascheaser I agree completely with your feedback, I really would have liked more time to fine-tune the effects of the genome gun. When the deadline was approaching I just had to throw a few effects in there as quick as possible!

Dr. Helix by SecondDimension 2012-08-29T10:02:00

@ madpew, glad you liked Endless mode, you're the first one to comment on it :) To get across the bridge you have to teleport onto the turtles with right mouse button

EVOLVES! by onehappygiant 2012-08-29T18:10:00

I so desperately wanted to use them mouse to aim, probably because I was getting destroyed though. Overall a good retro shooter, felt nice and solid to play.

Hoppy! by ElScootro 2012-09-10T20:03:00

I thought it was an interesting idea, it was kind of satisfying to keep the little guy in the air with the jumps. Definitely agree with others that it was frustrating that all you could see was sky, then you'd land on some spikes. Can see a refined version of this being fun on a tablet or phone

Deep Sea Evolution by atla 2012-08-28T18:13:00

Lighting & Music = great atmosphere. I generally love games with exploration or a sense of wonder, so swimming off and finding larger creatures was nice. Good work on this

Infestation by jwin 2012-08-29T22:22:00

Nice polished shooter, like the weapon variety and the overall visual style

Grow by kevincorrigan 2012-08-27T18:10:00

Really sorry but it just didn't work for me, the mouse cursor stopped moving almost straight away and I couldn't do anything. Seems like you have to bump into the other cells to grow, I liked that idea

Vesuvius by Joker 2012-08-29T13:47:00

OK I tried running it locally, then I uploaded it somewhere and tried running it online. Tried Chrome, FF & IE. No luck I'm afraid. Sorry

Human Fatality by MrHalfman 2012-08-29T22:01:00

Really nice graphics and overall design, just so incredibly frustrating, would loved to have seen past the dinosaur age but the jumps were too unforgiving for me

Silent Game of Death by everchanger 2012-08-27T20:23:00

Nice controls and visual effects, I definitely like the way it all looks. Feels like this could have turned into something really good with more time

Move the Cheese by aschearer 2012-08-27T20:44:00

Worked well and made me use my brain, nice simple interface that let you get on with solving the puzzles. I liked the variation in block types as well

Evolization by arzi 2012-08-29T16:04:00

Great idea, I would like to play a post-compo version where the hunger bar is a little more forgiving, or perhaps you can see the full map to plan the best routes to food etc. Good work overall

Bit-Craft Evolution by eyehawk 2012-08-30T19:38:00

Yep, I think this is one of the best LD games I've played so far. Genuinely fun, good evolution of the craft and increase in enemy numbers, great graphics. I have to say I really like the alpha noise, just personal taste but it looked superb on my laptop (using latest Chrome, Windows 7 64bit, I7 processor)

On the Origin of Block by savethejets1 2012-08-28T19:18:00

Great idea, liked the combining of block DNA to get to the solution

Paprika Blue by ekunminnowbash 2012-08-29T15:36:00

Very beautiful game, sort of a cross between Okami & Journey on the visual style, like the audio too. With some more levels and variation in gameplay this would be excellent. Well worthy of a post-compo version

Firefly by timtipgames 2012-09-01T12:29:00

Glad I read the tutorial, the most important thing in there for me was the difference between left & right clicking on a seed, once I had that figured out I really enjoyed playing. Nice gentle atmosphere, good music, great use of evolution and a genuinely interesting concept. The pie-chart display is a very elegant way of presenting the differences between seeds. Anyone who is having trouble running this, keep trying as it is definitely worth the effort

the Evolution from zx81 by zx81 2012-09-17T19:25:00

Good idea, way too hard for me but still cool. It made me smile, I liked the idea of racing the chameleon

Neural Nodes by Kmad 2012-08-27T17:57:00

Great game, I just played it through and it does throw up some interesting tactical options; you have to make sure you keep 2 nodes ahead of the slugs, try not to get boxed in, use your armoured guys to protect your node-capturing speedy guy and try not to have 2 of your guys on the same node when attacked. Art style also really stands out, congratulations on the game

EvoBit by Vennril 2012-09-02T11:41:00

Lovely game, well done. Platform movement was spot on, nice evolving graphics and fun too. that bit at the end where you had to run backwards made me go "aaahhh" but I just got through

Slime LifeTime by ItsSacraficed 2012-08-28T19:57:00

Good little game, I was kinda hoping for a mega-palace that filled the whole screen though :) Good job putting upgrades & a shop in

Genvaders by celeron55 2012-08-27T18:32:00

The links don't work for me, can't download it?

Genvaders by celeron55 2012-08-28T20:14:00

Got the link to work, glad I tried again. Nice take on evolutionary space invaders

Octogeddon by flyingbear 2012-09-17T20:51:00

Absolutely brilliant, I really liked that death was just an experience and a chance to go again and better yourself. The upgrades really made sense as well. Great game

Colorlies by songman 2012-08-28T16:39:00

Nice atmosphere and music, i wanted more time to watch the cells interact and evolve. Was quite realxing

Cow (Game about evolution of the game) by LemonTree 2012-09-02T11:37:00

Really nice presentation, first level is my favorite as well. Good work

PEB 2012 by madpew 2012-08-28T19:34:00

Well it was the last thing I was expecting for this LD, I'll give you that!

Fantasy Map Tactics by McFunkypants 2012-09-17T21:34:00

I'm a big map fan too, always spend ages looking through them when I'm reading a book so I can see exactly where the characters are. Anyway; so was it possible to select movements for all 3 bards and then end the turn, or could you only move 1 bard per turn? Overall I really enjoyed the game, I appreciated the chess aspect and like that you kept it simple

DGP: Space Lion by Yoni 2012-08-29T16:48:00

Nice graphics and enemy evolution, lot of content in there too

Mutagen by allinlabs 2012-08-29T17:44:00

Excellent idea, with some really nice graphics too. If there was an updated version that fixed some of the lag issues I would definitely play this again, well done

Strike of Rage ! by deepnight 2012-08-27T20:15:00

Really polished, fantastic visual style; I would love to see more games look like this. Amazing to make this in 24hrs

Wolf vs Jackalopes by wizbane 2012-09-01T13:19:00

Nice idea, I really liked the spites but think a few things could have helped a lot; such as a wolf animation and maybe a border of hedges round the play area. Trying to eat enough to live but not decimate the bunny population was definitely a good use of the evolution theme.

SEW by Cell 2012-08-27T20:32:00

Really liked the use of lighting, created a good atmosphere. I liked the turrets and traps as well, was fun setting up a wall of guns and luring the enemies into it

Upgrade by Fenmar 2012-09-17T21:04:00

Very solid and playable platformer, the blocks lighting up was a nice visual touch, enjoyed playing this

Boxy the Boxcat in Evolution Escapades by matthias_zarzecki 2012-09-15T13:56:00

Great game, anything with cats in gets my vote. The laser eyes and top hats made me smile too, good work

Megavolve by mokesmoe 2012-09-01T13:09:00

The idea of the turrets was a good one, but perhaps a little too unforgiving. I liked the bouncy-spring dudes as well, so the enemy variety was a plus point. The under-powered jump and enemy respawns did make it a bit frustrating though. Overall some good ideas here which could be developed further

Legacy Bird by Farfin 2012-09-12T22:53:00

Nice entry, really liked the graphics

Tiimmmeeee by matheod 2012-08-29T21:53:00

Wow I played that like 6 times so I could get to the end, and it was worth it! I want to give spoilers but don't worry I won't. Really clever little game, and solid platform movements. Good ending

The Adventure of Charles Starwin by surreal_whale 2012-09-11T12:46:00

I enjoyed playing this one, the particle effects were cool too

Go Darwin by StabAlarash 2012-08-27T18:36:00

Really nice, I loved the different types of dodos. Definitely enjoyed playing this one

The ducks are taking over!! by JaJ 2012-08-27T21:26:00

It makes a lot more sense now I've read your explanation on the evolution possibilities. Nice retro graphics and audio, Good job

Praepoch by Connor 2012-09-12T22:20:00

Great little game, once I had the combat figured out I really enjoyed it. Got all the way to the end and appreciated the evolution story. I liked the visuals as well

I Am A Tree. You Are Not. Ha Ha. by angrygeometry 2012-09-12T23:16:00

Wow, very imaginative, made me wish I had been a little less conventional with my entry. I thought this had a lot of atmosphere, and the humour/weirdness was just my sort of thing. Loved it

BobBots! by B3N 2012-09-01T12:55:00

Quite simplistic in terms of controls & level design, but the idea of enemies picking up pieces and evolving was excellent. I ended up letting the robots just collect the stuff so I could see how they integrated it into new designs. Definitely worth expanding on this

Complexitivity by Accidental Rebel 2012-09-11T13:21:00

Really nice audio/visual fell to this, very coherent. Nice idea as well, think it fits well with the theme

How evolution really works? by keenblaze 2012-08-30T19:18:00

Wow seriously great entry here, think you just taught us all a lesson in using simple graphics to achieve nice visuals (well you certainly taught me a lesson). Funny & Interesting take on the theme too, well done

Prometheus by sorceress 2012-09-17T22:19:00

Quite difficult, but a nice game. I liked the terrain and the changing abilities

2052 by Mach60KAS 2012-09-17T20:18:00

Wow that was great, really captured the atmosphere of an oppressive dystopian state.

Evolving Empire by Spaceoff 2012-08-27T19:14:00

Impressive achievement! I actually loved the graphics as well, felt like playing Civ with my old Sensible Soccer team

OF SPECIES by kato9 2012-08-28T20:23:00

Beautiful, very immersive.

eVo by bushmango 2012-08-28T16:57:00

Really made me smile, I was a shark with horns but I was killed by the Queen of Dover Castle. More games should have the option to destroy the Sun.

Ludum Card Evolution by Atridas 2012-09-17T19:47:00

Think I needed more of a tutorial, I was a bit lost for a while, but a really interesting idea. Only card game I've seen so far

Evolvsion by sP0CkEr2 2012-09-05T20:15:00

Nice graphics, I liked the changes in gameplay from level to level

Genetics-Pop by zapaman 2012-08-29T17:02:00

Stuff happened fast, I kind of wanted a little time to plan & think about things. Overall I liked it though, nice idea, clean visuals

LudumVille by My Milked Eek 2012-08-27T20:59:00

I did get a bit confused by how it all worked with the menus and so on, but it fits the theme really well, and is definitely an interesting idea. Like the guitar playing too.

Universal Adaptors! by yanmania 2012-08-28T20:29:00

Good progression, liked getting out of the water. I didn't mind the graphics, some animations would have been nice though.

Infect by Timster Studios 2012-09-17T20:29:00

Nice idea, found it pretty hard though. Music was fantastic

Alivolv by Pixelbear 2012-08-29T22:36:00

Nice controls, really liked running around the outside of the planet. Nice to have to balance shooting and stomping buildings. Got very hard very quickly though

The Plurality by N427 2012-08-27T19:35:00

Really excellent atmosphere, the design works really well and the plot was nice. Fantastic job

Evolutionary Chocolatier by davidwparker 2012-08-29T16:54:00

Top marks for innovation, didn't expect to be playing a chocolatier sim

Super Charles Darwin by gnx 2012-09-01T13:02:00

Aarrggh so hard! Started inadvertently doing the Wilhelm scream myself every time I died. Points for graphics & sound, lots of content too

Attack of the killer cute things! by Waynetron 2012-08-29T22:28:00

I murdered 45 adorable creatures, hooray! This was a fun little game, nice graphics. Creature behaviour did seem to change over time

Dinolution by The Evil Cult 2012-08-30T19:09:00

Hey really excellent platformer! I liked the overall style of the graphics, the platforming was interesting and I really appreciated that the enemies dropped hearts along the way (for people like me who are not that good at platform games). Good work guys

Influenza by Miltage 2012-08-29T17:17:00

Fantastic game, love the whole side view cut-away thing with the floors, and the little guys had a lot of personality. Like others I found it difficult to progress due to waiting around, although it was a lot easier once I realised you could use the mouse to control the camera. If you don't mind me throwing some suggestions on the controls: I think I would have liked the mouse to be the primary method of dealing out attacks - perhaps some mouse aiming on the sneezing (ranged attack), click on a nearby target for coughing (meleé) and maybe click on a spot and the guy goes there to vomit (area of affect), just an idea though. Hope you keep working on it, it's really great

Human 2.0 by dengzo 2012-09-12T21:52:00

Excellent graphical style and atmosphere, the ambient sounds really added a lot to this

500 years by imef 2012-08-28T20:42:00

Great idea, I really liked watching the simulation. It would be good to see a bigger difference between soldiers and workers, and perhaps see the soldiers with different weapons depending on their technology. Overall really interesting

A New Kind of Man by Khayet 2012-08-27T21:15:00

Good idea, couldn't get the 2nd mutation to work though, how do you go invisible? Fits the theme really well

A New Kind of Man by Khayet 2012-08-28T20:15:00

Ah OK thanks, I'll give it another go. Think my link is fixed now too by the way

Dissolution by Sergey Mohov 2012-08-28T16:48:00

I liked the pixel art style, that combined with the audio gave it a nice atmosphere. Would be interested in playing a finished version if you do one

LD25 — You are the Villain

Test Subject Gamma by Markavian 2012-12-17T22:58:00

Cool game, graphics were good and I liked having an overhead view of the whole place. I played for a while and enjoyed it, worth some expansion

Tourist Trap by HeyChinaski 2012-12-17T21:40:00

Well I found it pretty tough, but the idea was fantastic. The visuals were great as well, the ghost was cute and then terrifying. The first few times you pressed Z were cool, when you disguise yourself as stuff. Good work

Revenge of the Simian by Datw 2012-12-17T23:21:00

Everything ran perfect for me except background music (Windows 7-64bit, Chrome).
Nice reversal of classic game, fun to play

Mad Princess by AdventureIslands 2012-12-18T23:09:00

Definitely a cool idea and fits well with the theme. The art style is great

Split 'Em Up by chambers 2012-12-18T23:00:00

I think the idea of having to split up the group is a really good one, definitely could be developer further. Nice graphics too

Stealth Slime by koredozo 2012-12-21T00:26:00

Very cool idea, a good take on the theme and a decent stealth game that wasn't frustrating. Nice work!

Woodcut Ted by rujo 2012-12-17T23:04:00

Lovely little game, the graphics were cool and it all fitted together nicely

Deenergize by nka 2012-12-17T21:28:00

It's a shame that the whole game was played out on that tiny minimap really, as I thought the car lights moving round the city blocks were cool, but I didn't spend any time looking at them. Still enjoyed playing it for a while

Evil Rover by tumoxep 2012-12-17T21:08:00

Really cool idea, I enjoyed it. The first screen made me smile

Prison Break! by tnch4_ 2012-12-18T22:18:00

Nice graphics, I liked the stand-back mechanic

PsyGoat by SecondDimension 2012-12-17T23:11:00

Thanks for the comments everyone. I think the criticism that the levels are similar is completely fair, I spent so long on the mechanics that I just couldn't devote enough time to level design.

PsyGoat by SecondDimension 2012-12-17T23:11:00

Also, I'm so happy someone liked the tutorial! (because it took me hours and made me cry a bit)

PsyGoat by SecondDimension 2012-12-19T20:01:00

@Starspell - That's a strange crash, I think the sprite for that laser is heavy on the transparency effects so it could be a graphics card issue. I hope you get it working, thanks for trying anyway

Super Mario Boss by dredlockz 2012-12-20T14:34:00

I agree that going backwards was cool, nice take on the theme

I, Goblin by Kmad 2012-12-17T20:56:00

Good idea, sorry you ran out of time with it. Looking forward to a finished board game from you in LD26

Evil Gnome's Revenge by Spelchan 2012-12-21T00:17:00

I quite like herding games, the whole thing worked well and was pretty solid

Little Death Adventure by blackmagic 2012-12-18T17:11:00

Great audio and visuals, good job. I also really liked the intro and the messages at the bottom

The "Great" British Weather by bradleypollard 2012-12-21T00:09:00

This was cool, I really liked the use of particle effects; the wind especially looked awesome. It was great to hit people with lighting and imagine they were that guy that spilt his beer on me during Elbow's set. Boom!

Trolls: Where the Sun Don't Shine by Starspell 2012-12-18T22:55:00

Good ladder mechanics, I always find ladders hard. I liked the idea of fighting the sun

Friend of Tokyo by cdata 2012-12-18T17:25:00

Excellent stuff, I liked the idea of managing the different coloured bars (types of civilization), it meant I chose my lanes with greater care to try and maximise destruction of the leading colour.

I think that idea has real potential in a puzzle game. What would be cool is if the different coloured bars had direct effects within the game; like too much Red meant little military units attacking your monster, too much Blue meant commercial gain so buildings built quicker... something like that. A full version would be worth a purchase on the app store!

Mothertrucking knights by ryangoodwin 2012-12-20T14:28:00

I like being a troll and I liked going out in a blaze of glory. Moving round the levels reminded me of Repton, which is always a good thing

Evil Driver by rogerklotz 2012-12-21T00:21:00

It was really fun putting my foot down and watching the speedo keep going all the way round past 200

SUPER KRUPA WORLD by Intoxicatious 2012-12-20T14:32:00

Cool idea, definitely interesting to be on the other side of that battle!

who wants to be a super villain by madpew 2013-01-03T15:40:00

I think we need more acapella soundtracks

Burglar by Manuel777 2012-12-18T23:35:00

I got quite a few bugs, I kept getting stuck in the stairs and having to restart. Nice graphics though, and I enjoyed firing the gun

Monologuer by Devenger 2012-12-18T17:56:00

This is such a great concept, I'm not sure I'll find another game that fits the theme as well as this does. To have Monologuing at the captured hero be the main goal... genius. I really like it as a cross-section tower defence game too, not something I've seen too much of. Great old-school style.

Goat Mechanic by EpaceGames 2012-12-18T17:40:00

Such a polished entry for the 48-hour compo, really impressive. The gameplay items could maybe be balanced a bit better given more time, but it was really fun to watch the outcome. A slightly sad but excellent ending too...

Atomic Creep Spawner!! by deepnight 2012-12-17T12:05:00

Another great entry, I really love your graphical style. The way the hero explores the dungeon is really believable, and the swarming of the zombies is brilliant

Bad Business Croc, Nobody Likes You by intmain 2012-12-17T21:49:00

Great graphics, and the whole concept was coherent as well. Solid platform mechanics. I enjoyed the random business speak that came with my budget report. Good work on the blood, carnage and death of fluffy things too!

Evil Lair by jovoc 2012-12-18T23:18:00

I didn't feel like a had a lot of control over what was happening, but I laughed every time I sent a new hero in, at both the hero names and the different rooms. Every evil villain should have an entire room dedicated to a Crotch Laser

Life Buster by AyCe 2012-12-17T21:04:00

Dude, did I just give someone explosive cancer? This game was extremely villainous. Not bad for 5 hours. Liked the music

Amongst Shadows by BlackBulletIV 2012-12-20T13:40:00

Great game. I liked the sprites a lot, and it did seem like the enemies were hunting me down. I especially liked the sound, I used GarageBand & bfxr for my audio as well. You did a way better job than me on sound effects, they fitted really well.

DR. MADDOC Takes Over The World and Kills 3D Forever by jsmars 2012-12-17T12:16:00

Really nice mood to this, I liked the graphics and the idea behind it. I got stuck quite early on though, a walkthough would be cool. Had fun finding all the references. Also +1 filmgrain point. Games need more filmgrain.

Another Day at Villain Inc. by ahnimal 2012-12-18T13:22:00

This really made me smile, nice graphics and a great take on theme.

Airship Infiltration by supermaximo93 2012-12-18T13:16:00

Really good entry! I liked the checkpoints, the particles on destroying a sentry turret, the hacking was cool. The whole thing worked well, with great cut-scenes at either end

No rest for the wicked. by Jonathan Whiting 2012-12-18T22:48:00

Lovely visuals, and the bunnies were scary

Brown Hat, Red Hat Cowboy POW! by Pixelbear 2012-12-17T21:12:00

The opening sequence was good fun, I want to go into a place and say "Nothing but all of your money!" +1 Goat cameo was good. Shootout was a bit hectic!

Bad Santa by Cat Burton 2012-12-20T13:46:00

Whoa, fastest policemen ever! The sneaking is cool, I would have liked the option to move the camera a short distance independantly of Santa, so I could scope out the area before I moved

Evil Lair Construction Kit by sanojian 2012-12-18T13:06:00

Great idea, I think it could benefit from some expansion, but overall I absolutely love it. Graphics were cool, some interesting crafting, vampires... it had it all

Dr. Spackolo by cappelnord 2013-01-03T16:36:00

Hey this was really good fun!

BUTCHER by gnx 2012-12-18T23:41:00

The music set the mood really well, it's amazing how even simple music and graphics can create such a great atmosphere if done right. The whole thing felt incredibly sinister, the field of vision fed into that really well too, I felt like a genuine serial killer lurking in alleyways waiting to strike. I think you've got a lot right with this game, well done

Local Mastermind by Nehmulos 2012-12-18T23:13:00

This was really ambitious, sorry you didn't get it finished. I like the idea though

LD26 — Minimalism

Arco by lightspeedlucas 2013-05-05T09:23:00

Took me a while to figure out how to play. It's a great game once you do, good use of the theme.

I do love a good pipe matching game

This was cool, a really good sense of exploration

The particle swarm by dick_claus 2013-04-30T21:28:00

Very good idea and really simple, fit's the theme really well.

Escape Shaft by Zathalos 2013-04-30T21:40:00

Would have been nice to get rewarded for combos and multiple kills with one shot. Good graphics and fun to play.

jmp by reustonium 2013-05-01T11:59:00

Controls were a little fiddly but great idea.

Moonshine by TravisChen 2013-04-30T21:26:00

This is fantastic, good job.

Minima World by jijaweb 2013-05-04T20:56:00

Really hard but good little game.

Nothing is True by DiscoFish 2013-04-29T20:54:00

Looks great and love the idea, good work.

ABSTRAIT by Tkatchenko 2013-05-03T23:21:00

I wish that I didn't have to point to the screen with my finger to solve the puzzles, definitely some control issues that could improve this. Having said that it's a very original thing and I was pretty impressed

Nothing by mollymus 2013-05-03T22:54:00

Difficult and a bit frustrating, which is a shame because it looked great and had atmosphere

Minimal Malice Mighty Maze by Xellinus 2013-05-17T20:01:00

The different fields make for a good mechanic, it's an interesting take on the theme.

moomieware by Catmoo 2013-05-03T23:35:00

I think it's pretty impressive to put this together in a weekend, some of the game left me a little bemused by the controls I should have used; I think just sticking to mouse gestures may have been helped in that regard. Having said that I get exactly the same frustrations happen with Warioware, and I guess Nintendo do alright out of this whole making videogames thing. Overall very cool

Keep It Simple. by PixelMonkey 2013-05-20T15:08:00

Solid shooter mechanics, I like the risk/reward thing with the loadout affecting the multiplier

Zomblocks Blockiller by lfpetrini 2013-05-16T23:37:00

I liked the particles when you shot the zombies

M-Cubed by SecondDimension 2013-05-01T18:27:00

Thanks so much for the nice comments everyone

M-Cubed by SecondDimension 2013-05-03T21:14:00

We agree about the controls, they are a bit of a pain. We were planning to revamp them to use mouse-aim, but it just never happened due to the time constraints.
I just played through it again and some of it is bloody difficult. I was cursing the stupid people that made it...

M-Cubed by SecondDimension 2013-05-05T15:03:00

Added a download of the soundtrack if anyone wants it, it's just a zip file with both MP3s inside

Loot Run by Spelchan 2013-05-06T17:02:00

There was some seriously good platforming design on show here, very old school, but you definitely knew what you were doing. I liked that.

Player Block Door by Abdullah Elsayed 2013-05-03T23:30:00

This made me smile a lot! You were really messing with my head here, but in a good way. Damn fine work sir

Funky Lincoln Saves the Day by TheCze 2013-05-17T02:43:00

cGame by deeJayUA 2013-05-04T20:59:00

Really enjoyed that, very original.

TOOM by PoV 2013-05-04T00:09:00

Oh man it looks so lovely, the whole atmosphere was amazing. I completed it, and frankly was left with more questions than answers. I want to know why my guy was stuck in his little apartment above the trees.

The Epic Journey of the Narcoleptic Cyber Kitten: Floppy Disk Deluxe by theRestlessTaxidermists 2013-04-30T21:29:00

Lumber Rumble by MRvanderPants 2013-05-01T11:49:00

Needs to get harder/faster as you progress but really good fun, nice idea.

Play The Game by Fervir 2013-05-17T19:50:00

It's a cool little game, I like the sketchy art. Sometimes I thought the transitions between mini-games were a bit quick and I'd lose a life before I'd even realised what was happening. Overall, the game fits the theme well and it's fun trying to figure out the mechanics.

Erase by iterative deepening 2013-05-03T23:44:00

Very nice audio & visuals, creates a great atmosphere

Dream Min by Argembarger 2013-05-03T22:31:00

Save the Potato, Save the world. by JohnnySix 2013-05-05T21:55:00

Blockade by Inf 2013-05-03T23:57:00

I like this, it had a good space feel to it. The weapons and explosions fit really well with the game as a whole.

^2 by MaxguN 2013-05-03T22:26:00

A bit dificult, and I had some issue with falling through the floor. Very minamalist though, and I liked the idea of sqauares vs circles

Sine by f7f5 2013-05-03T22:27:00

I did the first level then spent a while crying, so hard. Bloody brilliant idea though

Squeezer by ticlekiwi 2013-05-03T22:39:00

I struggled with it alone, but good work for trying a muliplayer game

Arena by rogueNoodle 2013-05-03T13:44:00

A little hard to control at first but fun once you get the hang of it.

Arena by rogueNoodle 2013-05-05T21:47:00

My team member already commented above, but I wanted to add that I really enjoyed this as well. I think the graphics are a perfect example of how to do minimalism well

Gallery by Andrew Shouldice 2013-05-03T23:52:00

Scout by Trench 2013-05-01T11:33:00

Nice style but just need a little more to do in the game.

Dieter Rams Memory by PixelArtM 2013-05-05T21:55:00

Nice pixel style and audio, it was strangely mesmerising

Towers of Rage by robotality 2013-04-30T21:35:00

I know it's hard on such a small scale but more moves/variety to the combat would have been nice. Great fun to play though.

Starhook by sparksgently 2013-05-16T23:58:00

I see what you meant with the slow down, I know it was part of the game so I guess it made sense thematically, but it just felt like the controls were getting more sluggish. I liked it overall though, a cool idea. The look of the game was consistent and fits the theme. Shame you never got the copilot in there. It's a great first LD game

Mobius by 3beards 2013-05-06T08:06:00

Nicely presented, good minimalist one-button game

BASHLAND - Breakout Mario Mashup by McFunkypants 2013-05-04T21:16:00

It's a cool little game, a clever idea having only 10 seconds of movement (it took me a moment to realise that).

Fat-Guy-In-A-Batman-Costume-Man Rises by sev_inf 2013-08-27T20:31:00

Great idea with great graphics, good work!

Took me a while to figure out the possession but once I did I really enjoyed it.

No Time For Dungeons by PixelMonkey 2013-08-28T12:24:00

I love little dungeon crawlers like this. I agree with others about the controls not feeling quite right, but it's a cool little game and the graphics are cute. Be good to keep working on it, I think remove the 10 second limit and add more dungeon layouts and this could be awesome

Clockwork Cat by patrickgh3 2013-08-27T20:55:00

Just completed this, amazing work. Loved all of it, great graphics, nice atmosphere and cool puzzles. Well done!

I found it quite moving, really good job on this

Inherity by foumart 2013-09-02T20:31:00

I like the concept and use of the theme, it'd be interesting to have a bit more choice (e.g. having to choose between units to place) but it's a solid entry. Good work.

Everybody Loves the Fluffy Mania by Nangie 2013-09-07T23:33:00

Doesn't seem to be working properly. The one mini game I could play was fun.

Inversion by mutuware 2013-08-28T12:17:00

It was quite hard, but overall I love the idea. It felt very slick, and it was one of those games where after a while you get it and go "woah cool!"

Clone and The THING by NateAGeek 2013-08-27T20:24:00

Cool little game, really liked the story. I did get stuck inside the walls though I think, on the bit where you change size between big and small.

Poppy vs. the Night by SecondDimension 2013-08-27T00:54:00

Thanks everyone, I'm glad you liked the audio as I'm pretty proud of it (did that all from scratch over this weekend)
Thanks for mentioning the menu screen too, I know someone on our team who will be very happy to read that!

Poppy vs. the Night by SecondDimension 2013-08-27T22:35:00

Thanks for the kind words everyone

@GFM - I agree about the feedback, I made sure there were particles and a sound effect, but with everything else happening it's hard to notice. It's one thing that I wish we'd had time to do, we kept trying screen shake but it wasn't really working.

@Wertle - Yes I think that's fair about the transitions, I think it's just that when you play your own game so much over a weekend then you know what to expect

@Starspell - Really sorry about the lag, think it is probably a combination of the looped collision checking and the many particle effectss. Low powered or older processors may have a bit of trouble I guess.

@CosmicAdventureSquad - That is weird browser bug that happens if you click outside of the window whilst moving. It usually corrects itself within a few seconds. Still, sorry!

@robb - All the text says is that Michelangelo obtained that high score in April. I'll let you make of that what you will...

Poppy vs. the Night by SecondDimension 2013-08-27T22:42:00

... Also my best score is 7080

Shame it didn't work out as planned, like the idea though.

Save Them by Jason 2013-08-27T22:49:00

I would have liked the markers you placed to have been persistent, think it could be really fun with fewer randomised elements. Overall a great game for your first Ludum Dare

Don't Shoot the Messenger by Back to Browse Entries 2013-09-07T06:07:00

Eat to Live by Ramon Imbao 2013-09-01T20:06:00

That was excellent, great graphics and really fun gameplay.

10 Seconds To Live by eskivor 2013-09-07T06:19:00

Really liked the platform time limit and fantastic art style, the jumping sound grated after a while though.

Kitty Force 10 by Raiyumi 2013-08-27T17:36:00

Maze of Kaboom by pcfernandesjr 2013-08-28T12:02:00

Korrod by eelfroth 2013-09-02T20:25:00

Had a couple of little bugs: I spawned inside a block once, and I also spawned another time and couldn't move. It's a great little game though, wonderful audio/visual effects (although the pulsating is a bit headache inducing). Nice entry!

Low Battery by RHY3756547 2013-09-06T20:28:00

That was fun but really difficult, first level was very hard. Great graphics though.

Moonlight Running by ncannasse 2013-08-27T20:27:00

Stupid fireballs! Cool running game, liked the different abilities. All games are better with sliding

Ascension Switch by Nehmulos 2013-09-02T20:03:00

It was tricky to work out what was going on, seems like a nice concept though. Everything kept moving to the left by default, so the cursor and knight would keep moving left even when no keys were pressed. Good work on getting something done and submitted.

Into the Fortress by PixelMonkey 2013-12-17T13:05:00

You sir, are a cruel man. You showed me everything I knew about jumping onto platforms, and then you took it all away!

Interesting and challenging idea, if a bit hard. The graphics & presentation are great as always

You Only Get One You by mutuware 2013-12-17T14:02:00

Really nice puzzle game here, I spent quite a bit of time with it. This is definitely worthy of a post-compo version

Castle Uno by SecondDimension 2013-12-18T23:42:00

Thank you everyone for the comments, it really means a lot to me.

I'm glad people are liking the tutorial, although the text is small on lower resolutions (sorry). Basically in my first LD nobody read the text instructions, and so ended up missing all the interesting bits of the game. This was quite upsetting, so I vowed from that day forward to try and have decent tutorials.

@colapsydo - I'm glad you enjoyed the monster sprites, I made them on a spreadsheet in Excel, just out of normal autoshapes. I made all the graphics this way.
I don't consider myself good at art, so the encouragement is genuinely a great confidence boost, thanks everyone.

Congratulations to the people who made the jumps, especially with a keyboard. I know that the whole game was much easier with a control pad. I wanted to have the little guy dance when he was up there, I had an animation but didn't have time to put it in :(

Castle Uno by SecondDimension 2013-12-22T20:20:00

Thanks again everyone. @Xavier - I really appreciate that, as those are the games I dream about emulating in my own way.
I noticed there are a few typing errors in there, just me typing when I was super tired, I'll try to sort them out at some point

Castle Uno by SecondDimension 2013-12-23T08:54:00

@Bruno Massa - By the boss fight, do you mean the big floating cloud? With that all you have to do is run to the door at the other side, climbing the battlements is just for fun.
If you meant the last level, then you just need to get rid of all the monsters and the gate will open (use the action button for your tiny death ray)

Turret 101101 by savethejets1 2013-12-18T17:37:00

The pixel cat was adorable. Great audio and overall mood.

You only have one vote by thedeadlybutter 2013-12-19T13:10:00

Innovative idea, definitely something a bit different. I think it could be something great if you kept working on it. The idea of having to think about the various consequences was great, but ultimately came down to number. The thing about politics is that so much of it is emotional and propaganda, so it's not like you can just have set % number and pick the ones that are best. I mean I see why you did that, it wasn't bad at all, just that you could expand on it with other campaign elements and really highlight how difficult it is to pick a candidate that is best for everyone. It certainly got me thinking!

YOGO RocketFist by _Rilem 2013-12-17T13:06:00

Wow this is awesome, really had a lot of fun with it. Loved the little red hopping enemies

Scrap Wheel Robot by ainokaisa 2013-12-17T13:05:00

One Arrow by 7elephants 2013-12-23T13:15:00

Nice entry, I always enjoy bows and arrows in games. I had some problems if my cursor went outside the browser, but otherwise everything worked. The jumping was fine for me, once you got the double-jump it worked well

Science Ship Cleomedes by KunoNoOni 2013-12-18T17:36:00

Hardcore! I really like avoider games, although this was a little tough. I tended to prefer the weapon, as you could forge a path further ahead (as long as you don't miss). Nice touch on the voices

Two Options... by GFM 2013-12-18T17:37:00

Some of the jumps had to be so perfect, I found it a little tough to get through some levels, I kept trying to double jump even though I know it wouldn't work. The controls and platforming were spot on though, and I love the look of it

Ballkeeper by cappelnord 2013-12-19T12:58:00

Very slick presentation, nice work. The twist of just having one ball worked well, this is a really good entry

Really liked the style of the game, nice use of colour and simple art style gave the game a very stylish feel. Liked the colour puzzle and slower pace but felt there could have been more depth or harder puzzles. Really enjoyed it though.

Damned Scouts! by Lama 2014-04-29T20:33:00

Wow, that was great. The graphics and animations are amazing. Good job. Really wanted those anouying singing scouts to die as well

The Woods by tinyworlds 2014-04-29T15:49:00

Really enjoyed that. The graphics and sounds make a wonderful atmosphere. Not sure if I was missing something but I would like more to do in that world.

Blowing up the surface by Thinkofdeath 2014-05-01T19:25:00

I think this is a really cool tech demo waiting for a game, it was still really fun as it is though

Like a Bird in the Sea by Volute 2014-05-01T15:52:00

This was great, I love the way it looks, the characters and dialogue are really nice. I just wish I could explore without the constant worries about oxygen supply, as I wasn't able to find many air pockets. It seems like a really great little world that I would like to spend time in

Switcher by ehtd 2014-05-01T15:40:00

It's not quite satisfying to control, but I think the idea is good and the way the crowd chases you works really well.
Really nice visual style, it just looks awesome.

Get The Bone by kasarun 2014-05-05T11:31:00

What a great game, the art work and dog animation make me want to keep playing. Wish the dog could dig a little faster though, found it hard to avoid bombs sometimes.

Diving Simulator 2015 by Phobos001 2014-05-01T18:38:00

Another awesome C2 entry, this made me smile. Great fun!

Heaving of the Depths by Christina Antoinette Neofotistou 2014-05-07T12:14:00

The controls are a bit spread out, but you created an interesting world that looks great. I think the shadows under the sea being random encounters is a cool idea

Acceptance by zatyka 2014-05-01T14:24:00

Another very interesting idea, it definitely affected me as it got closer to the end. I guess it was weird to have a score though, I'd rather have just experienced it. Very unique little game

Go Below The Ground by DevWouter 2014-05-01T12:37:00

Nice game with solid controls, shame there is no sound.

Bio Defence by fued 2014-05-05T11:16:00

Very polished game with great visuals, fun to play as well.

Hello again Origami Fox buddy, we've replied to you over on our game's page

La Dolce Mare by mutuware 2014-05-01T17:20:00

I seemed to get slower when pushing the treasure, which was cool. I also liked the octopus from the depths

Kitsuni by SecondDimension 2014-04-29T13:34:00

Thanks for all the nice comments.

Kyatric, What with time constraints we didn't spend as much time on the ending as we would have liked. Hopefully we can go back and work on the game out a bit more when the compo is over and change the ending.

Kitsuni by SecondDimension 2014-04-30T18:30:00

Thank you everyone, we really appreciate the kind comments about the atmosphere. I worked hard on the sounds and music to make sure it all fitted together nicely, and my team mate James did a great job on the art. We're really pleased with how it went and it means a lot that you guys liked it too.

Having said that, I think we agree with the criticism of the controls and the puzzles. I had all sorts of little bugs with the collision detection, and I think the deadzone for moving towards the cursor was way too big (the fox would stop and you wouldn't be sure why).

I was mostly happy with the puzzles, but where we really ran out of time for was explaining them properly and introducing the abilities of the creature gradually. I wrote a walkthrough though if anyone is stuck, link is above. Thanks again for playing

Kitsuni by SecondDimension 2014-04-30T21:31:00

Hmm, I guess the idea was meant to be more towards the exploration, so I can see how people who like puzzle games would find it too easy, but then again a lot of people can't quite figure it out even with the hints, soooo not sure. Perhaps the lack of us explaining the abilities properly contributes? It's certainly divisive.
No idea how to get that balance right to be honest, never tried to make any kind of puzzle in a game before!

Kitsuni by SecondDimension 2014-05-04T22:13:00

Thanks again everyone. Looking back we weren't happy with the ending at all, we just really ran out of time and needed to do something. We had this feeling that whatever you were doing was not going to be good, but there was literally 20 minutes to go before the deadline and we just had to throw something in there. So yes a bit disappointed on that front.
We'd be really interested if anyone has any thoughts on where they thought the game was going, or what they would have liked to see.

Kitsuni by SecondDimension 2014-05-09T08:17:00

@Fued
Wow they do have similar settings and styles. Bit worried people will think we cloned it or something, but we promise we hadn't seen or heard about your game before; it's just a coincidence. I guess when you use a forest setting then you will always arrive at the same collection of animals, the main coincidence is the use of origami and triangles in the visual style.
We've been working hard on a post-compo version thinking we were original too, but I think they are different enough to coexist. We'll really be focusing on the puzzles and mind-control thing. Plus we will be moving the look even more towards a winter setting with some mystical elements

Kitsuni by SecondDimension 2014-05-09T08:27:00

@fued
Hi, this is James. I did the art work for the game. Neither of us had seen your game before so any similarities are a total coincidence. The style really came about through a combined love of various artists work, origami and woodland creatures. Your game looks amazing and if we had to look like any game, I'm glad it's yours. I guess with so many jam entries some are bound to look similar.

Infantile Oceanic Feeling by andreimarks 2014-04-29T16:04:00

That was fun, really enjoyed seeing what the creatures did.

The Legend of the Thunder Fish by BMacIntosh 2014-05-01T16:59:00

Nice fishing mechanic and solid game play, good work in 48 hours. Game should start with music on as default, the music adds a lot and I thought at first it didn't have any.

Playbuck by Ithildin 2014-05-01T16:02:00

Definitely the best rabbit-mating game ever. Always nice to play something a bit different, the animation when pressing F was ridiculously fast!

Fragment by rxi 2014-05-05T11:40:00

I must admit I struggled to find all the text, but I liked the idea and the music was beautiful

Dungeon Trap by Thijsku 2014-05-01T16:56:00

The gamepad worked really well, I think this is a really solid entry. There are some issues for sure, but it wouldn't take much to turn this into a great little game. With the walls and the ploughing it felt like you were taking territory and closing it off, then moving towards the next area. This is a cool idea, but I think it suffered as the spawn-rate ramped up and I was always getting killed in my own little house. The ever-reducing health bar is a great touch, but perhaps the stamina was a little unforgiving, especially with the sword. Good job overall though

Grow Little Tree, Grow! by elfeck 2014-04-30T10:41:00

Really nice concept and game, I liked the blocky style. Would have liked to see the tree grow and maybe change depending on how well you did. An enjoyable game.

Very well polished game with good graphics and sound, well done.

UNDER by ENDESGA 2014-05-05T11:04:00

Really cool, would have liked to have seen more. What did the red button do?

Dark Soils by Grieve 2014-05-06T09:21:00

Great art style and narration, a bit more of a challenge would have been nice.

Full Immersion by end3r 2014-05-03T18:56:00

Very nice, polished game. Felt very professional. Found it almost impossible to avoid the mines though, hit boxes seemed a bit big. Some sound would have been nice.

I Remember Alice by Linus Lindberg 2014-05-05T11:26:00

Great game and very subtle, the art work and story fitted very well.

Infinite Island by Andrew Adams 2014-05-01T17:03:00

Really nice design and game mechanic, love the visual style. Just didn't totally understand how to play it.

Birthday Wish by Spaghetti and Meatball 2014-05-03T18:58:00

That was a very strange game but I enjoyed it.

What Lies Beneath by Stuffie 2014-04-30T10:22:00

A very enjoyable game and nice graphics. The grapple swing doesn't seem quite right though.

Rosa Neurosa by Wertle 2014-05-01T12:51:00

This was great, I really love games that give the player a chance for little creativity. I guess the only frustration was that I wanted to find things and make up the story, but I kept getting hit by the light bulbs (which i initially thought were memories). I guess the platformer bit didn't quite gel with the story side. Overall very high marks from me though, great work.

Here is my clean, safe but totally bizarre ending:

Shelter by TwitchSeventeen 2014-04-30T12:31:00

I found the controls of this a bit frustrating, I guess I am used to clicking on a building and then clicking on a plot to place it, rather than the other way round. I agree that the screen was too big, and was a bit awkward to move.
Having said all that, I really like this idea, what I really wanted to see was a sped-up simulation of the people coming into the shelter and trying to survive. I put the food next to the power reactor, expecting it to go bad and I put some water down but no way to get to it, so I wanted to see the little people try to cope with these things. I'm not saying you should have done all this in the 48hrs, I mean it as a compliment - that this a good idea with lots of potential to expand on

All is one by Erkberg 2014-05-01T17:15:00

I don't think I remember playing something where the world is slowly being destroyed as you play, the fact that it changes the play area is really cool. I think that and the music and the constant blasts really create a mood, it definitely feels like a dying planet.
I think it's a shame that those effects were used on an area that was mostly big and empty, it would be cool to see how something like that affects a more complicated game world, and perhaps forces you to keep picking new routes and changing your approach. Anyway good job

The Last Beacon by Katamori 2014-05-06T19:52:00

This is a cool little game, I think you created an interesting world with a good atmosphere. I found the laser pretty satisfying too, although it would have been nice to have some other sounds. Really nice game overall

Balancitos by NickZangus 2014-04-29T13:05:00

That was really fun and the game looks great. The people on the island didn't last long with me though.

OMNOMNOM by brogrammers 2014-04-30T09:44:00

Nice game and I liked the paper cut out style but didn't think it went with the other style of the waves and boxes. Would have liked to see that cut out paper style carried throughout.

pod by TomCooper3D 2014-04-29T20:50:00

That was great, really enjoyable to play. Just nice to float around and slowly figure out what to do.

Mine Explorer by Joe Williamson 2014-04-29T20:21:00

Great game and art work is really nice.

Crabathon by colludium 2014-05-01T11:30:00

Pretty solid entry, I liked it. I managed to find the starfish, which helps a lot. I agree that it wasn't entirely clear when the sun was hitting you. I liked the graphics, especially that the little crab raised his eyebrows when walking

the vole beneath by mcapraro 2014-04-30T09:50:00

Shame you couldn't get more done, it definitely has great potential. What you did get done was very fun.

Beneath the Surface by FistBumpGames 2014-05-05T12:39:00

Wonderful graphics and atmosphere, controls were a little difficult though.

Neath: Surf Ace by ViKing Games 2014-05-03T12:17:00

Nice colour palette and art style. Found it hard though, sometimes I did really well and sometimes I died straight away and wasn't sure why.

Calamari Chaos by cakesauce 2014-05-03T18:49:00

Nice game and really liked the squid design, weapons felt nice and varied as well. Would have liked more variety of enemies though and for the game to get harder as you went along. Just had to stay in one place and shoot.

Drillship by Algerus 2014-05-03T19:12:00

Very fun game and nice music.

Daisy's dog is dead by alvarop 2014-04-30T12:43:00

Just completed this and enjoyed it, the basic gameplay idea is very good, and the presentation of it all fits together nicely. I definitely wanted to see what was on the post-its first, maybe Daisy starts walking when you move the first one? Otherwise the first turn on every level you just have to accept you'll fail while you figure out what tools you have to work with. Overall great job though

Baum by Waterman7 2014-04-29T20:11:00

Asteroid Tycoon by BadgerPriest 2014-05-08T11:52:00

Beneath Colossal by Liens 2014-04-29T12:43:00

Loved it, the start is a little confusing but after that it is very enjoyable. The style and atmosphere work really well. Good job!

DEPTH BENEATH by mimic 2014-05-03T12:10:00

Great game, really like the look and feel of it. Really good colour palette and style.

Watch out the fish by Kirito 2014-05-08T11:57:00

Well done on your first LD! I think there are some problems with the controls, but good job on finishing.
I really liked the fish, they were a good enemy because they felt unpredictable and that meant I was genuinely a bit scared of them. I think that is cool and not all games get that right.

Theres's a Twist by Lucio 2014-04-30T12:09:00

I found it difficult, but in a good way. It's a nice little logic puzzle. The mechanics are solid and work well

Bobs Incident by shane1090 2014-05-01T16:42:00

Don't know why but I found it really hard, still fun to play and nice graphics.

SEA MONSTER: ATTACKS HUNTER by Frump 2014-05-06T07:15:00

ECHO THE DOGEFIN RESCUES FLIGHT MH371 by matt_j 2014-05-09T16:45:00

Funny and controls pretty well too. Apple will regret crossing you

The Stones Back Home by jrap 2014-04-29T16:10:00

Fun game and music, I especially liked the title screen.

Invasion from Below by StencylTuo 2014-04-30T10:11:00

Nice concept and twist on missile commander.

I think a basic and simple graphics style can work really well with this kind of game but I thought yours looked a little too basic. A little more time making it look better would have really helped. I did not really like the little dots you created to stop the tunnels but the bombs were quite satisfying.

Shame there was no music or sound, would have helped with the atmosphere.

Overall a good attempt but needs to be fleshed out.

PiranhaPlayground by tschery 2014-04-30T10:35:00

Nice game and concept, took a few attempts to understand but once I did I enjoyed it. Very enjoyable game despite the late start.

Fun game and great music, wasn't to sure how the attack worked though. Found myself flying around and not sure how. Really liked the music.

Great idea but it seemed to to be just luck and no skill involved in playing.

Drowning in Problems by Notch 2014-05-01T18:54:00

Sitting here while I wait to be forgotten... it was kind of hard to play as you went through it, slowly realising what you are simulating and what you are heading towards. Definitely moving in its own way

Dungeon Jelly by Detocroix 2014-05-03T12:03:00

Love the jelly movement and seeing enemy jellies break apart, nice game.

BactoCo by Hempuli 2014-04-29T15:45:00

Nice good with good graphics, took a while to understand how it works though.

Revenge of the Kraken by malmazuke 2014-05-01T19:30:00

Under the bed by Kyatric 2014-04-30T09:56:00

Nice idea but I thought the sound was a bit jarring and having to move so slow was a bit frustrating. Liked the Nice graphics and the atmosphere worked well.

Basement by Halfbus 2014-05-05T12:15:00

Wow, you made a genuinely good puzzle game. I am super impressed by this!

ENTANGLEMENT by mtrc 2014-09-10T21:37:00

Very nice idea, the entanglement felt like something quite innovative for a box puzzler game

A Step Away by PixelMonkey 2014-09-05T19:58:00

I know there are a few bugs but they didn't impact on my enjoyment - this was pretty much a perfect game jam experience: it was short but packed in some good level design, interesting mechanic and nice graphics. I enjoyed figuring out the whole spike pit thing as well

Warp Paint by zatyka 2014-09-02T21:39:00

The main character design was really nice, overall a good look to the game. I think you did some excellent level design, which I think is really hard to do over a weekend so great work on that. Throwing things is very satisfying too. Awesome job overall

Rift Knight by SecondDimension 2014-08-27T07:43:00

Thanks for the nice comments everyone, I really appreciate it!
I was a bit worried nobody would play it as it doesn't look great in screenshots, it needs a video or something. I might try and do that when I get back from holiday next week, as well as rating a load of other games.

Rift Knight by SecondDimension 2014-09-01T21:57:00

@KingBolonzo - thanks a lot, glad you like it! I can do an .exe and upload it tomorrow night, probably a good idea to have one available anyway

Rift Knight by SecondDimension 2014-09-03T19:28:00

Thanks again everyone, I have added an .exe version too

Rift Knight by SecondDimension 2014-09-11T22:06:00

Thanks everyone, glad your enjoying it. I am a bit concerned about all these movement glitches though, I didn't experience any of those bugs you guys mentioned at all! I wonder if it's down to browsers, or PC specs etc? I need to do some more testing I guess

Rift Knight by SecondDimension 2014-09-11T22:10:00

Oh no, I put "your" instead of "you're"! Everyone should give me 1 star in grammar.

LadderX by joni_m 2014-09-05T19:10:00

This was definitely too hard, but I think it's a genuinely cool idea. I really enjoyed it when I made it to the next planet. Never got any further than the 3rd one though. I really think this idea is worth working on some more

Literally Connected Worlds by geometrix 2014-09-05T19:55:00

Pretty much nailed it on the theme, and the game works as it should. Overall I liked it, although it felt like it needed a few more gameplay elements after you've been playing a while

3 by ENDESGA 2014-09-05T18:58:00

This was short but very cool, the mechanics were satisfying and the puzzle element was nice. Using the higher gravity to break through the glass was brilliant

ServerSphereICE by drakfyre 2014-09-07T11:13:00

Great game, controls are a little awkward though.

NECLiD by 0x0961h 2014-08-26T21:43:00

You packed a lot of atmosphere into this, I think it's a very nice idea. I thought the design of the Overlord guy was awesome. Top marks for theme too

Cohack by Exeneva 2014-09-05T18:10:00

I'm always impressed when people get strategy games finished and working over such short space of time. I did feel like I need some more guidance on how to play though

Space Clash by donan 2014-09-05T20:06:00

It was a little bit difficult to control, but a really nice atmosphere and setting

Arktrail by DaanVanYperen 2014-09-06T17:15:00

Great entry, a little difficult perhaps but still a really cool idea. I'm really impressed you got something like this working over a weekend. I played it for quite a while

Afterlife Dance Party by Wertle 2014-09-03T18:59:00

Great intro, and a good idea overall. The whole thing was quite sweet and made me smile. Good controls too, although I did shout at the screen a tiny bit, it was hard!

ShiftKeeper by egor-idiot 2014-09-06T14:09:00

Top marks for graphics, absolutely love the pixel art and especially the enemy designs. I think having audio would have helped a lot with the mood, but still a really good entry

Growing To The Moon by Stending 2014-09-07T10:59:00

Nice game and great idea. Needed something extra though, maybe just another visual element or effect to pad it out a bit.

These Cosmic Chains by ploogle 2014-09-03T19:45:00

Some really nice touches here: the music and the slow-down effect when you fail, the excellent death-quotes and the planet-connecting chain. Great stuff!

Capsule by PaperBlurt 2014-09-10T21:52:00

Such a good game, really well written and funny.

Isles in the Sky by Tanner 2014-08-26T21:59:00

Good technical achievement, and the "click to craft" idea is a good one. It would have benefited from being a lot quicker, that way you could probably have made some cool structures in no time at all

UNIVERSAL FEELING by hoyt hoy 2014-09-06T17:37:00

It was quite hard, but well done for trying something different and incorporating audio in an interesting way

Crack The Market by colludium 2014-08-26T21:17:00

Cool little game, lots going one. I agree the ship was a bit slow though. Of course I loved that a random message appeared saying "buy cocaine on Venus and sell it on the Moon". That is one of the last things I expected anyone to say to me today. Good work on the mini-map and zoom, nice touches

Groups of Seven by 7Soul 2014-09-05T18:03:00

I found all 61, it took me far too long to think of putting that green spikey thing in a desert. The game is quite different to most of the games I've played so far, and the graphics are very nice

Very good as always, love the visual style of your games

The Great Space Salad by KuGrou 2014-08-26T21:53:00

Astral Crossroads by zdonkeyx 2014-09-06T13:31:00

A lovely game with great atmosphere and music. I fell off the edge though and fell forever.

Berta by Spang 2014-09-06T17:27:00

Nice puzzle mechanics and music, I liked teh colour palette too

Filter Prism by spacedoubt 2014-09-05T19:16:00

Quite a different idea with the prism and everything, but I have to agree with everyone else about the difficulty. I really tried to get through so I could give it a fair go, but I never got past the 2nd pit of lava

GPS: Galactic Parcel Service by lakael 2014-09-06T13:51:00

Great art style and really liked the character design and overall feel. Good stuff!

Holiday Nightmare by KingBolonzo 2014-09-01T20:55:00

I liked the take on the Connected Worlds theme, reminded me of Nightmare Before Christmas. The skeletons of burnt enemies was a nice touch, and I liked the overall insanity of it.

(Also if you're still doing videos I'd love you to give mine a go, it looks way better in motion that on screenshots. Thanks)

Fuga by Colapsydo 2014-09-04T19:45:00

You made another game in Space, this one is much more relaxed!
I think the mood is really nice and it felt satisfying to create the various equipment by using the right elements. I didn't like having to drag them, Personally I would have preferred to just click on them in the right order, maybe with a nice sound each time. That would fit more with the rest of the game as everything else is clicking. I think you could build on it with the audio elements and make a really nice game with a good atmosphere

Yggdrasil by stevens_studio 2014-09-07T10:49:00

Nice art and mood, just need to add some game mechanics and it could be great.

Connected Worlds by SeriouslyCrunchy 2014-08-26T22:13:00

Wasn't sure how much of a game there was here, but then I got off the first planet and was really impressed! Great work for a short amount of time

Waterfly Octus by gillenew 2014-09-05T19:04:00

Woah pretty hardcore! I would have liked some checkpoints - I didn't mind the difficulty so much, but it was not so great having to start the whole level again. The artwork was really top quality, full marks on that

Lucy's Journey by ajopart 2014-08-26T21:46:00

Whoa, hardcore! The platform changing was a fun idea, but a little too difficult for me

Buffalo Bison by OneMuppet 2014-09-05T20:17:00

What a strange thing you have created, I think it needs work but there is a starting point there. It did definitely make me laugh

5 Planets , colonize all planets by mataguiris 2014-09-05T20:11:00

I played this for quite a while, it was a nice fun little game. It was cool when I managed to get a landing right

Home by DoktorAce 2014-09-07T11:27:00

The art style is fantastic, love the hand made feel. Some sound would have really added to the atmosphere though.

My sweet garden by Kyatric 2014-09-02T21:13:00

As always I can rely on your games for something a bit different and more peaceful. I think there is something satisfying about virtual gardens, and I like the time limit to make you plan when you plant things.
I would have liked the ability to undo planting something, within the same turn at least, and perhaps the ability to re-do plots if I made a mistake. I think putting a pond or water feature in would have been cool too. Good job on getting something so complete

Spayce! by torcado 2014-09-07T11:21:00

Nice style and art but I had no idea how to play it or what was happening.

Our Dream World by PapyPilgrim 2014-09-08T19:34:00

I played this on my iPad and it worked really well, the gameplay was fairly deep for a simple game and the overall mood was great. Nice work!

DINO BOLT by GeorgeBroussard 2014-09-10T21:18:00

Cool graphics, it has a style that hangs together really well. I think it was an inspired decision to use the 2 dinosaurs to allow for essentially a second life. Very nice polished little game

Inversion by tatelax 2014-09-06T13:39:00

Great style and enjoyable gameplay. Would be nice to not have to go through all the text at the start when you die.

LD31 — Entire Game on One Screen

The graphics and art style are great, a fantastic entry.

Break the Limits! by Volute 2014-12-11T11:13:00

Love the atmosphere this game creates.

The style and mood are fantastic, a great experience.

Castle Dice by cacciatc 2014-12-29T14:38:00

After I had figured out how to play it was really fun. Great graphics as well.

The Reaping by zatyka 2014-12-11T18:08:00

Another interesting story idea, I really like it when people try something like during game jams as it makes a nice change of pace from the arcade games. I think the control method with the mouse and the icons was excellent

Trapped?! by Grouflon 2014-12-12T13:25:00

Couldn't get past a jump as it was too high and space didn't do anything. Really nice graphics and character animation though

Alpha Circuit by SecondDimension 2014-12-09T03:17:00

Thanks guys! I think I did that classic thing of playing it all weekend so not realising how tough it is. The eyeballs are pretty hardcore, but you should always be able to use the purple node things to escape

Alpha Circuit by SecondDimension 2014-12-15T13:09:00

Thanks again all

The loading animation is way too long, that's actually a bug that I could fix very quickly, but I'm leaving it in because basically I messed it up so I need to live with the consequences!

@joekinley The theme didn't come through as I hoped, but the basic idea is that you're logged into a server getting rid of a virus, but seeing it graphically rather than though a command prompt. Hence the loading animation instead of just changing levels

@erkberg No idea how an enemy can spawn inside a wall. That should be impossible. Bugs.

Alpha Circuit by SecondDimension 2014-12-24T14:30:00

Wow @spacedoubt that is commitment to accuracy right there

Serenity by rxi 2014-12-15T23:01:00

Very interesting game and look/sounds great.

Sol by Wuhao 2014-12-18T13:56:00

I did struggle to understand what I was doing and how my interactions were affecting the other planets, but I liked the overall idea and the presentation of it. Think you did really well to go for something ambitious like this in 48hrs

Alien Machinery by glbs 2014-12-11T21:57:00

Not sure what I just played but I liked it.

The Blues by jrbitt 2014-12-11T13:24:00

The exit is a lie. Nice game.

Hyper Soccer by klianc09 2014-12-11T18:28:00

I always enjoy it when people try something different with sports like this. It is a cool take on soccer, and having different player types with different special moves is a great ideal. Overall it felt cool and made me smile.

Chance Encounter by allurious 2014-12-09T12:49:00

Cool game, it's a bit like my ProcJam game Infini-Quest, but with a slot machine and more duck warriors!

Much Ado About Pirates by andrewkennedy 2014-12-22T13:49:00

Good fun, the curtain/theatre idea fits well with the theme. Also great music.

The Cubenator by Kuupu 2014-12-18T14:15:00

Really nicely polished, and some cool powerups

The Cubenator by Kuupu 2014-12-18T14:18:00

^ also meant to say that particle effects and block destruction is really cool

The Greenening by Erkberg 2014-12-11T00:08:00

This is a great game jam entry, I played it through to the end. A really original little idea, loved it!

Very enjoyable game play. I really liked the laser sword sound. Kept going back for more.

S by Lars Faust 2014-12-11T14:03:00

This could be a great game when finished. Graphics and general style of the game look great.

Mini Minotaur by ljdp 2014-12-09T21:22:00

Great concept and very original. Took a while to figure it out though.

Yuki and Snow by Raiyumi 2014-12-11T11:50:00

Great looking game, like the colour palette.

Claustrophobia by OldPeculier 2014-12-23T11:21:00

Nice game with a good concept. Think it needs a little work on the mechanics but the lighting looked great.

Dispense With Chaos by colludium 2014-12-11T18:19:00

My PC ran this perfectly on Chrome in full screen (I am now in talks with NASA).
The physics were very satisfying, especially when you clicked 4 things and they exploded, the whole thing felt very tactile. That way the level changed was good as well, it kept things interesting

CRUSH by AlexVsCoding 2014-12-11T11:16:00

Great looking game and fun to play.

Limberjacks by sandbaydev 2014-12-11T14:06:00

Really like the character animation and style. Feels great to play, I just wish I was better at it. Good job!

Scarecrow by joekinley 2014-12-14T19:07:00

The music is great. Would have been nice if the birds had eaten the seeds or there was a points system to make it more of a game.

Really fun game and a great idea. Good job.

Summoning of the Santa by Slothmachine 2014-12-11T18:08:00

Reluctant Rudolf by ainokaisa 2014-12-11T17:21:00

Wow this was tough. Anyway Merry Christmas to one and all, even psychotic reindeer

0000 : Press Z by alvarop 2014-12-11T17:16:00

I love the style of it; it's simple but feels really focused. I always overcomplicate things so I really appreciated that you were able to do this. It feels like a small but complete game, remind me of an Acorn Electron game or something. Good work

Neighboring by psychonull 2014-12-09T17:10:00

Good concept, became quite stressful to manage them all. Fits the theme really nicely. I like the cross-section view and the graphics are really nice

CoinCollector by maxhaesslein 2014-12-15T21:45:00

Really nice concept, needs a bit of expanding but a very original idea

Cat-ana by Valandre 2014-12-13T11:40:00

Very well polished game, loved how the levels came apart and constructed themselves. Graphics and overall look were really nice. Controls are a bit fiddly though.

Screened by hexagore 2014-12-18T14:06:00

I HATE YOU. But also this was really cool, it ran perfectly for me on my gaming rig and the whole mood and feel was excellent. It was super difficult, but I enjoyed the platforming for the most part; mostly I felt like it was my fault when it went wrong. There was one bit with a blue saw on a slope when the jump just wouldn't respond, but other than that it was a good challenge.

Natquik by shadow64 2014-12-13T11:50:00

Really like the visuals and style, colour palette was great. As others have said, the font is a little hard to read.

Man on the Field by Double Zero One Zero 2014-12-11T12:11:00

Really interesting puzzle game and nice mood/style.

Snowbert by spacedoubt 2014-12-11T18:08:00

I thought this was going to be the moose version of Basic Instinct...!
Short but sweet little game, condensing a whole series of quests onto a single screen. I think the design was good because I immediately understood what I'd have to do an how all the elements were supposed to work

Plankton by alpha_rats 2014-12-15T23:12:00

Interesting idea, and I really liked the colours you used, they created a nice atmosphere

The Eternal Bee by palmar 2014-12-15T21:49:00

well, that was slightly insane but great. Loved the music and the art

Animal Roar by gillenew 2014-12-09T21:51:00

This is a very polished game. Graphics and animation are fantastic.

Meowcalypse by Bonobo Games & Mechanic Moon 2014-12-29T14:11:00

Very fun game with nice graphics and sound.

NO AMMO NO ARMOUR NO SIGNAL by Farfin 2014-12-11T21:51:00

Nice twist on Pacman, a very polished game.

All Is Lost by plauk 2014-12-11T18:19:00

Oh no, the poor little fluffy creatures... they met their inevitable demise at the end of the universe. There were a lot of things I liked: the zoom, the homing missiles, the planet and wildlife revolving. I actually played a game zoomed right in so all I could see was the main character, just watching him blindly solider on as everything gets destroyed around him. Great work

Wizards Are Bad by Lovelock 2014-12-11T11:32:00

Really liked the audio and graphics. Didn't feel I had much control over the game though.

Hop & Chop by Pat Kemp 2014-12-14T13:47:00

Really fun game, very addictive.

Windows Cleaner Simulator by Instant Noodles 2014-12-18T16:32:00

The Shelter by Alter 2014-12-22T13:06:00

It was satisfying to hit the zombies, and I liked the use of the theme. It all fitted together nicely as an idea

Wayang by xlash86 2014-12-11T13:29:00

Really liked the paper puppet show style and home made sound effects/narration. Gave it a very unique feel. Well done.

a TV Show or a One Screen Game by Si1ver 2014-12-13T11:46:00

Fantastic game, very unique with an interesting style. The mood you created was perfect.

Tangled Maze by jachepe 2014-12-13T11:58:00

Great game for your first Ludum Dare, visuals were good but the music loop needs to be a bit longer.

I laughed, I cried. Thank you.

Guns & Bricks by tMalicet 2014-12-09T21:25:00

The robot had real character. Nice game but a little tough.

Clickity Click by broknecho 2014-12-22T13:34:00

I got my army size to 1200, I was an unstoppable killing machine! I'm not usually a fan of clicker games, but adding the tower defence and units along with the resource balancing worked well and I enjoyed playing

I have monsters in my head by Kaiziye 2014-12-09T02:55:00

Hey, this was pretty difficult but I really like the idea. It became quite a fun timing puzzle to try and guess when you think it will be safe again.

Drill Escape by wildfield 2014-12-09T21:38:00

Once I figured out what was going on it was really fun. Simple yet challenging.

OhYeah! by Tinimations 2014-12-11T18:15:00

A pretty funny opening, with Santa trash-talking at me. I also appreciate the metaphor! As other have said the slow-mo effect when you're close to the bullets is great. It really ties the movement together and feels cool every time it happens

Get Bigger! by admix 2014-12-09T15:23:00

Ah I love this, simple but effective idea. It all fits together really nicely and it's satisfying to move about. High scores from me!

The Lonely Realm of Tom Thaum, the Space Wizard by JJEvil 2014-12-11T17:11:00

Very odd, I liked it. Was cool running around the planet and I got into a rhythm with the meteors after a while, perhaps felt a little frustrating when your building kept being destroy, but then again maybe that was the idea

Sentinel by kipelovets 2014-12-11T18:16:00

arrrggh, my hand!
Fun game, very satisfying.

Soul Sleep by Technomancer Game Studio 2014-12-11T13:50:00

Really fun game. Not sure why but i found the moving hands a little disturbing.

A Carrot Game by the-arrival 2014-12-09T21:47:00

Nice game but needed better guns and gun sounds I think. Would have made it a little more exciting.

Daedal by Rouquemoute 2014-12-13T11:53:00

Really nice concept, I like how the level expands. Controls take a while to get used to though.

Dogs Peeing Everywhere by matt125 2014-12-09T21:28:00

Really enjoyed that. Very funny and addictive

Sword Arena by Kyatric 2014-12-11T17:31:00

I really liked this, the slow attacks were quite enjoyable and it gives you time to think about what you're doing.
I think a bit more feedback from the opponents would be good, to help you plan your moves a bit.
One thing I though you did really well was create tension, and that helped me use my imagination - each new opponent somehow felt different and threatening

My Little Metal Joint by ladybenko 2014-12-11T11:38:00

Game looks great but I did not understand how it worked or how to play.

Shifting Dungeon by codeapparat 2014-12-29T13:53:00

Really nice concept, the map sliding was a nice touch. Got a bit bored of swinging that sword though.

Pixel Run by atombrot 2014-12-12T20:02:00

Some great puzzles. Music made me play faster than I needed too.

Acorn robbery by strong99 2014-12-11T11:24:00

Really like the detail and the design. Can be hard to scroll up and down, would be nice to be able to skip the intro as I had to restart so much.

Kaleidoscope by Madball 2014-12-15T23:17:00

A very cool idea, and a perfect fit for the theme

Orion by feiss 2014-12-15T22:32:00

Shield Maiden by bitslap 2015-04-21T14:25:00

Great consistent style, looked very nice. The shield mechanic reminded me of Athena in Borderlands, it was well implemented and satisfying

Randomsmith by Catman 2015-04-21T20:22:00

This was super fun to play around with, great sense of humour and fits the theme well. Awesome stuff!

Gravity by Pinpickle 2015-04-23T15:42:00

Really fun, challenging game. Took me a while to learn what to do with each shape but once I did I enjoyed it.

Nail Gun Hero by rujo 2015-04-23T12:07:00

Great retro feel to This. I found it a bit too difficult, but overall I really liked the idea and execution. Procedural levels were cool, nailing mechanic felt fun and challenging, just maybe needs more hit points and maybe a more gentle learning curve

MV by Incredible Ape 2015-04-24T17:46:00

Really fun game with an interesting mechanic. Art style really suits the game.

Vacuum Hero by Evgiz 2015-04-24T19:01:00

Really enjoyed this, very polished entry. Good graphics and music.

Postman Ninja by Nikteddy92 2015-04-21T17:29:00

This game was so hard, my best score was -1100! Perhaps fewer obstacles would have been a bit easier. Still there were some really good points. I think the mini game with the arrows was cool and could be expanded upon, plus overall it was an original and interesting idea

Polarity by Moraleidahgo 2015-04-24T18:06:00

Ring Retorter by zatyka 2015-04-21T17:23:00

Really fun entry, it made me smile a lot. It was great when you found the perfect response. Is it possible to get 100% right I wonder?

Graze by Merigrim 2015-04-24T20:27:00

Very fun game with an interesting mechanic, was a fun challenge.

Miyu by SecondDimension 2015-04-21T01:49:00

Hi all! Just a note on the theme; we went away from it a bit, which was not really intentional. The original idea was to collect plants and use them as a sort of lasso to catch dangerous enemies. Then we decided we wanted it to be a bit more relaxed, and also the lasso thing was super difficult. So the unconventional weapons are still the plants and animals in the environment, but they evolved over the weekend to not really be weapons. Hope you can forgive us, thanks for playing

Adventure Lamp by ryguydavis 2015-04-23T12:59:00

Soundkraft by 02fc.exe 2015-04-25T10:04:00

Really liked the graphics and feel of the game. The sound gun was a nice idea and good game mechanic.I wanted to see more waves and see the gun upgraded more.

One of them by Pierrec 2015-04-30T14:03:00

I was expecting this to be about stereotypes and how we as players made the selections based on the way each of the women looked. The ending did surprise me and it was very effective. I think as other have said that statistics are great but hard to relate to. Just giving characters some real human traits made the message mean something to me, and will be a lot more memorable.

I think outside of the message the idea was good in its own right too, I did find it interesting how I selected the characters for each question. Just doing that made me think about my preconceptions, and also gave the characters some life of their own.

Hugline Miami by Figglewatts 2015-04-21T19:10:00

You got the feel of Hotline Miami spot on, really enjoyed playing. The music was especially awesome and kept me playing for quite a while. It was difficult to hit enemies when you were in a corridor or doorway, which was a bit annoying at first, but then I turned into an extra challenge of having to lead the enemies out into the open before I could kill them with love. Would have like an actual'hug' melee option!

Crump Rush by OnlySlightly 2015-04-27T16:53:00

Really liked the swinging mechanic, fun game with great graphics.

Nunchukkats by invi 2015-04-24T17:43:00

Billy McMath Solves Problems by Manky 2015-04-21T18:59:00

I loved this, the voice work was seriously top quality. The drawings seemed to fit with the voices well too. I'm not very good at maths, but it was a cool gameplay mechanic to advance the story

Sal and Papa by McFunkypants 2015-04-24T20:02:00

This game made me smile, the art and sound effects were great. Very cute game.

100 Dollars Unicorns by td2tl 2015-04-23T12:13:00

So hard, but I liked the 3-stage gameplay idea of throw > catch > land. It was pretty funny & interesting, but as others have said it was a bit too hard to land

The Follower by Stending 2015-04-24T18:26:00

Really enjoyed the music, added an unsettling atmosphere to the game which I liked. Really nice graphics and experience.

Dischord by Wefiends 2015-05-11T20:50:00

Fantastic game! Probably needs a bit of polish on the controls and collisions etc, but overall a great idea with a lovely mood

Night Harvest by gene-z 2015-04-21T19:35:00

Definitely a good mood you set, the scarecrows were pretty scary

Ramming Speed by dingotime 2015-04-26T10:55:00

I really enjoyed this game. Really liked the hand drawn graphics and music, added a lovely homemade feel. The game play was fun as well, really solid game mechanic. Good work!

Crowd Control by CriticalMammal 2015-04-24T19:06:00

I liked the interpretation of the theme, and using emotional manipulation was a cool mechanic in general. It's not so easy to distinguish the responses the crowd though, and the relentless attack from them doesn't really give you the time to observe and experiment (which is a shame because that would have been fun). Overall I liked it and I think you have definitely got the beginnings of interesting game here

Echoes of the Forest by Midnight Creators 2015-04-24T18:15:00

What a wonderful experience, some of the best art I've seen on a Ludum Dare entry.

Dunk the Ostrich by vvolis 2015-04-27T16:45:00

Don't know what just happened but I liked it.

Very nice graphics and great, moody music. Sold gameplay.

Hug Arena by Benjamin 2015-04-22T22:02:00

Really well polished entry, I really liked the use of colour and design. The game mechanics are really simple yet clever and kept me coming back for more.

Manriki by FistBumpGames 2015-04-21T18:46:00

Great looking game with a really nice mood. A few bugs like falling out of the world but apart from that a good entry.

Genemon by Pietro Ferrantelli 2015-04-21T12:39:00

Great graphics and sound effects, over all a very fun game to play.

Limb by Limb by AdamW 2015-04-21T15:39:00

Ran fine for me and I played all the way through to the end. Really great idea and fun interpretation of the theme. Reminded me of Monty Python. Also I liked you tree sprites

Confess-O-Matic by virtualtoy 2015-04-27T12:25:00

Nice puzzle game, really like the concept.

Mass-X by hexagore 2015-04-26T22:45:00

Great game, really fun gameplay and great graphics. A very polished entry.

Purging Cuddle Kingdoms by Crumpet 2015-04-24T19:26:00

I was super pleased when I realised I could steal multiple weapons and just rampage though the enemies like some kind of cuddly mega death princess

A Knife Made Of Whispers by managore 2015-04-30T15:07:00

A bit frustrating in places due to the controls and tiny range of the knife, but as a whole package it was really well put together. Excellent mood and feel to everything, great work

Freddy's Challange by Shimone 2015-04-25T11:26:00

Solid platformer that provides a good challenge. Really liked the graphics as well.

BacterioRage by Squid Blink Games 2015-04-22T18:09:00

Really interesting levels and great character design/animations. Didn't manage to inject anything though, seemed a little hard.

Beep Boop by CJ K 2015-04-24T19:59:00

Really well designed and thought out game. Graphics were simple yet perfect for the game and the controls felt great. Very enjoyable game.

Unconventional Crowd Control by OnErrorResumeNext 2015-04-25T17:23:00

Interesting to have to switch weapons to deal with different enemies

Flappy Shrimp Ninja Blob VS Blue Water Saussage ! by elpaulo 2015-04-21T17:42:00

I found this game super fun, played it for ages. It was nice to control, and there was a good challenge too. Great job!

Uprooted - a carrot simulator by Two Scoop Games 2015-04-21T13:35:00

That was fun, especially when you get a rabbit. Very addictive game, I died a lot but kept coming back for more.

Scrapshoot by LeftRight92 2015-04-27T16:41:00

Good shooter, was fun to play and graphics were great.

Sleep Tight by commodoreKid 2015-04-23T18:13:00

I thought the enemy design was really cool

Nallies Party by agilejoshua 2015-04-24T21:51:00

I thought it was a great idea to get your daughter to do the graphics. The gameplay wasn't very fun though, with a bit of polish and refinement it could be a really nice game.

Stoned Scarecrow by gillenew 2015-04-22T21:54:00

Loved the bizarre characters, the game lookes great. Really nice upgrade system but it took a bit too long to get the experience to upgrade, apart from that I really liked it.

Flail Rider by jushii 2015-04-24T19:18:00

Difficult but not frustrating, it ended up being really great fun. I love the aesthetic too, great work

Oddest Jobs by hunttis 2015-04-24T18:36:00

Really enjoyable gameplay and overall game. Movement feels a little floaty though.

Scary Rocks by Pat Kemp 2015-04-24T20:36:00

Really liked the graphics, I thought it looked incredible. Very interesting game mechanic as well. Found it very hard at first, until I figured out you could turn the gravity orbs.

Armory of W.A.T. by dallonf 2015-04-30T15:23:00

A gun that shoots other guns deserves a 5/5 for humour, it definitely made me laugh. Conclusion: Ridiculous, in a good way.

PANIC★PARTY by molecats 2015-05-02T16:11:00

This was a very odd but cool idea. I liked it. The graphics looked really nice too

Bears in the Dark by Ivan Volkov 2015-05-10T15:54:00

Looks and sounds great! An original idea too, good work. Final thought: Bears are scary

Reclamation - Tales of Seasia by theshadowteam 2015-04-24T17:59:00

Graphics are really well done and the game has a nice feel. It was a little unclear what I was meant to do/what was happening.

Spell Mates by Backterria 2015-04-23T18:27:00

Unfortunately I think I hit a but; I was killed by one of the zombies, and when I respawned I was stuck in ground and couldn't move. I think there also needed to be more player feedback - like transitions between areas and being hit etc. Still it was a good concept, the ideas and the different familiars were cool, and well done on the great atmosphere - it felt like a world I wanted to explore more.

NOPAEW by Anikki 2015-04-21T15:25:00

I found the platforming a little frustrating, especially as you lost your ammo/keys on respawn. Despite that though I had a good overall impression of the game, the world was well realised and you set a great visual mood. It definitely drew you in to the story

Snow Cones by Mechamew 2015-04-22T17:48:00

That was a really charming game, really nice mood. Looking forward to the post-compo version.

Brickgun by skylinegames 2015-04-21T18:38:00

Really nice game with a nice design.

Giant Spiky Ball of Death by RobotHoboDanceParty 2015-05-11T20:59:00

I think the controls are a little floaty, it would have been good if you could turn quicker and more accuracy in your movement. That would have made the early game easy but fun, then you could have ramped up the number of enemies. I did really like it and played for quite a while, deflecting bullets was especially fun

Hug Cult by EwChap 2015-04-21T19:20:00

Sound effects were funny, the boss fights were pretty fun and mixed things up a bit

Angry Beavers by PixelStuff 2015-04-24T21:35:00

I really liked the graphics and concept. It just seemed really hard to play and very buggy. webgGL gets an error and the windows download freezes when the game ends.

Starbinder by HunterAugust 2015-04-22T17:29:00

Really liked the atmosphere and concept.

Intersection by okacat 2015-04-22T17:38:00

Really fun game and nice use of the theme.

Jimmy Aupperlee by ShaPOC 2015-04-21T14:46:00

I think the main mechanics of the game (jump, dash etc) worked well, although the platforming was a little tricky to control, especially the wall jumping. Congratulations on your first LD entry, it's great for testing out new tools and ideas.

Super SALT Helmet by DarkwindMedia 2015-04-25T10:09:00

Really fun game. The art was fantastic as well, a very well polished entry.

X-11 "Gust Gunner" by cowboycolor 2015-04-23T18:35:00

The controls were a little extreme for me, with the sliding mainly. But it looks great, and you've really got that Vlambeer-esqu feedback going on - like blowing the leaves & jumping felt cool to execute

Sivo: Trial of the Lava God by rattower 2015-04-25T09:56:00

Really good concept and mechanic, nice graphics as well.

Triangular by pss 2015-04-25T09:43:00

Really nice graphics, the simple style worked well with the game. The music gave it a good atmosphere. I think the game play could have been a bit more varied or more challenging though.

Mouton by Noisette 2015-04-30T16:10:00

Wow this game is brutal, just played for 10 minutes or so and my sheep guy was mutilated in so many ways. Good fun!

Latvian Milk by Dreyan 2015-04-21T14:35:00

Great little arena shooter, I liked the insane weapons. Some of the weapon names really made me laugh, especially a Glockwork Orange.
But mainly what I will take away from this is a new-found understanding of the Latvian people, and how the modern capitalist paradigm is diminishing their sense of cultural identity

Sirkles by Kyatric 2015-04-21T17:46:00

I really like the gameboy colour palette, and it's another interesting experience that'different from a lot of LD games. It feels like you thought about the systems and how they affected each other, I could tell that things weren't random, although it was just a little difficult to figure out exactly what was best to do. It was good when I got into it, there was a battle where both the sirkles had low HP but had run out of stamina, and it was quite tense just hitting wait until I had enough to finish off my opponent.

The Towel Club by team_towel 2015-04-21T18:33:00

Good clean family fun!

Flash Escape by scottthoo 2015-04-21T14:53:00

Platforming was really hard, as the jump was a little to control. The flash mechanic was really cool though, very satisfying to get enemies with it

SUPER Kid by SuperKid 2015-04-21T18:26:00

Really good idea and great art but I found the sound effects got a little annoying after a while.

Lasers have recoil, right? by th4t 2015-04-27T16:58:00

Seems a bit basic at first but became really fun once the levels got more complicated. Really nice concept and very challenging.

Trojan Horse Simulator: The Art of Subterfuge by freeholdgames 2015-04-21T21:06:00

Very fun, original game play. Didn't get close to finishing though.

HUGO THE LASERCAT KING by TyrusPeace 2015-04-30T16:23:00

Loved it, such a great idea. I played through twice

Doll Quest, Bad Brother Beatdown by JaJ 2015-05-10T15:48:00

I found this pretty tough, but I liked the idea a lot and the mood/visuals were cool

TypeFighter by Sheepolution 2015-04-21T19:28:00

Difficult game, I kept typing long words but not spelling them right, so I get beaten up a lot. Innovative idea, great work

Deadly Roads by pythong 2015-04-22T17:58:00

A really fun, simple game. Liked the random characters. Sound effects got a little annoying though.

ScarKrow by Carduus 2015-04-21T12:18:00

The graphics and music are fantastic, had a really nice feel and atmosphere. Fun to play as well.

Legends of Kersalmon by tummyache 2015-04-26T11:05:00

Really liked the character design and animations, the game looked really nice. Gameplay was fun, I liked the fishing mini game and different fish weapons. Great entry!

Kitten by GFM 2015-05-10T16:17:00

I found this a little too hard, even with the pad, but I liked the idea of using the weapon help with jumps. Was there any way to charge the bar higher so you could use the weapon for longer?

Discharge by Frozen Fractal 2015-05-10T16:06:00

Nice atmosphere, being pursued by the ship created a great sense of tension

Soccer Punch by PapyPilgrim 2015-04-26T22:52:00

Really fun game, zipping around was very satisfying.

Herding Humans by Blunt 2015-04-25T09:49:00

Really liked the graphics and concept. Controls were a little hard to master at first, once you get used to them the game was fun.

Quiet Riot by GeorgeBroussard 2015-04-21T18:42:00

Loved the retro look and sprites, it was also just the right amount of challenge for me. It was nice idea too, kind of a different approach to overthrowing a king. Great entry!

LD33 — You are the Monster

U no take Loot! by Orni 2015-08-31T15:01:00

Once I figured out those small holes on the wall were arrows then it got a lot easier. I had a lot of fun with this and the art style is really nice too!

WUF by TravisChen 2015-08-27T19:39:00

I fell into that pesky hunter's traps more than once, I'd like the chance to even the score so please keep working on the game! It has a lovely mood, I like the effects a lot especially the texture around the light sources.

i Have a Choise by DiscoFish 2015-08-25T20:48:00

Wow. I loved this, trippy and bizarre and fantastic. It was genuinely something different and completely unexpected. Great atmosphere

Earth Was a Bad Choice by zatyka 2015-08-26T18:20:00

Great little story and a fun mechanic, it was a fun twist on the endless runner. I played all the way to the end and really enjoyed the story as well. Thank you for not making me go back the beginning when I failed, that was much appreciated. I managed a 17-jump combo with the best air time of 9 seconds, is that good?

Brood by SecondDimension 2015-08-24T22:25:00

Apologies if anyone has tried to play Brood and there was no link to the game. Our internet connection has been terrible today and it went down just as we were had finished. The link is back up but unfortunately the sound files weren't uploaded with the game, so there is no sound. We will fix this as soon as possible.

Brood by SecondDimension 2015-08-24T22:43:00

All sound and music should be working now.

Brood by SecondDimension 2015-08-28T12:31:00

Thank you everyone for the nice comments.

@kmiitz
It was hard work but we did do everything from scratch, glad you enjoyed the game.

@xvw
Sorry about the sound. I just tested it in Chrome and Firefox and the sound seems to work fine, so not sure what happened.

Brood by SecondDimension 2015-08-29T13:44:00

I did not know that! Sorry to all our Dutch players, you may be disappointed that this is blur a have about bread

Brood by SecondDimension 2015-08-29T21:38:00

Thanks everyone, sorry for my terrible spelling in the last comment - autocorrect strikes again

Baby Cakes by PeteGrammarman 2015-09-06T12:16:00

The art style is great, it's a little quick and it is difficult to work out who I am supposed to throw into the cake. It's a funny idea though and pretty polished.

Separated by rxi 2015-08-25T20:31:00

*** SPOILERS MAYBE! ***

I really did think that was beautiful, I'm glad I stuck with it and saw the ending. Even before the ending I was really feeling that sense of the monster being isolated and misunderstood, the attempt at speech just being gibberish was a great touch and made me empathise with that sense of frustration. Then the people reacted as people tend to do when they don't understand something. It was just so sad. In the end I just crawled onto the pier and watched the sea as I died

(Idle?) Monster by KayZ 2015-09-01T17:42:00

A cool and amusing use of the theme!

Lil' Drake by bombjack 2015-09-06T12:36:00

As others have said, it's like you have combined super meat boy with flappy bird. You crazy, brilliant designer. Nice work! It's hard to critique because it is such a simple but effective idea, the only way to improve it is to keep refining through some intensive playtesting.

Totem by Ian MacLarty 2015-08-27T12:39:00

Great mood and atmosphere, really liked the graphics as well.

NotZilla: Ice Cream Vendor by RisingPixel 2015-08-27T12:47:00

Really fun game and loved the look of it. Really well polished entry.

Aetri by oskardevelopment 2015-08-27T17:39:00

I got the hang of the game quite quickly even without a tutorial or help screen, it's a nice simple game and I love the idea of an action board game. I found the difficulty wasn't balanced as it was very hard to get anywhere when the game was unpaused, but if I paused it then I could just take over the map unopposed. Very interesting mechanics though, a lot of potential here!

"Real" by callmemonamiral 2015-08-28T20:52:00

It's a technically very impressive entry, especially for a compo game. It was a bit dark, but the game was playable with some nice platforming sections. Well done!

Sweet Dreams by hitchh1k3r 2015-09-06T12:10:00

A lovely idea, very original. It's nice to see a creative game come out of the theme. It would benefit from a little more instruction, and the controls are tricky but it is very interesting.

The Creature from East Second Street by emmelineprufrock 2015-08-27T19:10:00

Definitely interesting and innovative! Very different from any other LD game that I've played. With a few more choices and a bit longer to make those choices I think it would be great.

A Long Night by guoboism 2015-08-25T21:43:00

Really nice title sequence and a great little game

Mmmonster by Wefiends 2015-08-25T22:00:00

Cool idea and really sweet art style, enjoyed having controller support too

Monster Child by Bruno Massa 2015-08-28T08:44:00

You've clearly put an awful lot of effort into this entry! It took me a couple of goes to work out what was going on and what the rules were. It's a bit confusing, but a good entry once you get the hang of it.

Eat or Die! by colludium 2015-08-26T20:54:00

The animations on the monster were really nice, climbing and eating were really smooth. I liked chasing the little guys into the castles as well, especially if you could catch them just in time

M.A.D (Monsters Against Do-Gooders) by Fallenthief 2015-08-28T10:08:00

Nice little plants vs zombies style game. I enjoyed it, although once you get your defences established it is a bit easy. Good work.

SLIME CHRONICLE - "Wait, I get to be the hero!?" by CornflowerBlue 2015-09-03T17:58:00

Very polished entry! It is very slick indeed. I didn't like having to change between cursor keys on the menu, and mouse controls elsewhere, swapping control systems never feels good. Also, I never felt like blocking was useful, because as soon as I attacked I didn't get the chance to block. It was a fun game though, it looks and sounds great! Well done.

Moonlight by amy742 2015-08-25T22:34:00

Nice graphics and audio, mood was really nice. I liked the variation of the shotgun guys as well to mix up the endless running

Mobs, Inc. by Pietro Ferrantelli 2015-08-26T17:46:00

Great game, the graphics are wonderful

Quest for the Castle by igoramendola 2015-09-06T10:27:00

Very funny, and a great use of the webcam.

GH4ST by Shaun LeBron 2015-08-31T10:31:00

There were a fair few Pacman games in this LD, and also in the 'You are the Enemy' competition, but this is by far the best take on it I've played. It was really enjoyable

The Troll's Toll by baykush_figtree 2015-08-27T19:36:00

Some spoilers... I thought this was excellent, initially I though the gameplay options were limited, but then after the ending everything made sense and I realised what I had actually been doing when selecting my battle options. The orc begging for mercy made sense as well. I liked the verse and the overall fell of the game even before the end, but I didn't really expect that twist, I think you handled it well and it didn't feel like a cheap ending at all, great work everyone

Kraken Rampage by randyyaj 2015-08-27T19:04:00

Love the look of this game, nice colours and great Kraken character

Death of a Lich by managore 2015-08-27T19:22:00

This was very well thought out game, and it felt like it had a lot going on in terms of rules and stats. The graphics and overall mood were also excellent. I liked the gameplay, but I just felt like it was a little too unforgiving early on and I struggled to get very far (although maybe it's just because I'm bad?). Overall though great work, very well done

Monster Truck Monster by adamwoolridge 2015-08-25T20:34:00

Really tight controls, I got the feel for it straight away and everything reacted as it should. It was great fun just driving around and spinning in circles.

Monday Night Monsters by spotco 2015-08-28T11:15:00

Incredibly polished game! The art style is fantastic, it's a great take on the theme and the gameplay is interesting. It was a bit difficult to begin with, but I really got into it. Fantastic entry!

Gammonster by sikosis 2015-09-09T12:02:00

It's good to see a board game in there, although it is the equivalent of snakes and ladders where it is all luck based currently. Would like to see it developed further.

Crop Circles 2015 by Keith Stellyes 2015-08-28T20:43:00

A difficult game! I had some trouble with the controls, as one point my ship started to jump around the screen. An interesting idea though!

Meet the Monsta by Schrodinger Games 2015-08-25T20:12:00

Really liked the cardboard art style and the sound effects, great homemade feel. Found it really hard to walk but really enjoyed the game.

Coin Block Clicker by Mykaelos 2015-08-30T14:00:00

Really great ending, it was more like an interactive story than a clicker game, but that's definitely a good thing

1-800-Monsters by ponywolf 2015-08-27T16:56:00

Fantastic idea with wonderful visuals. I found that pushing objects around was a little clumsy and they would get stuck on scenery or not quite fit in gaps, but you made the game forgiving enough to compensate for that. Overall, a really great entry!

Kaiju A-Go-Go by GeeItSomeLaldy 2015-08-25T21:08:00

Managing to go all Mario on the planes and jump on them was cool!

You are the monster by Dasginger 2015-09-09T18:14:00

The game looks nice and it's nice to see a reverse tower defence game. I had quite a few bugs, as I was scrolling a lot of the towers vanished and I had some pathfinding issues when I destroyed a tower near the end (my monsters skipped over a bunch of towers). It's fun and has some potential.

Little Monster by chipcaramel 2015-09-09T17:45:00

It's a good entry, I loved the little touches like not being able to walk properly on two legs when you first transform. It feels very well thought out, good work!

Monsters...BRAWL! by A-Flat Miner Studios 2015-09-09T17:53:00

Absolutely great entry, very fun and I loved the art. The collision detection was sometimes a bit dodgy but overall it's a fun little game.

DRUMSTER by SoulGame 2015-08-25T19:32:00

Great game with fantastic graphics and animation. A little hard for me but very enjoyable.

KRAGZHOR by UrbanHelsing 2015-09-06T10:13:00

It's a good fun entry, not the most interesting use of the theme but you've clearly focused on making it entertaining. Lining up a group of knights and launching a rock through them was great!

Neighbourhood Rampage by Coomzy 2015-08-27T17:06:00

A nice entry, as others have said it is a bit difficult to tell where the humans are in the level and so there is quite a bit of aimless wandering. It's impressive that you've got a 3D environment with destructible scenery built in such a short space of time! There are some nice graphical touches such as the animations, it just needs a little more polish. Good work.

Some Knights Left by farwyler 2015-08-29T10:17:00

I really enjoyed this, played it all the way through to the end. It was a nice, simple idea and had a lot of character. Good work!

Rampaging Monster Mayhem by lurumdurum 2015-09-02T18:35:00

It's a nice, simple concept that fits with the theme. The graphics are nice, but it would've been good to see some animation in there. A good, solid entry.

Subterranean by K.Chplr 2015-08-28T08:24:00

Brutally difficult, but had a wonderful atmosphere!

Monster System by freaknarf 2015-08-29T10:25:00

I just had to play this, I had a master system back in the day and loved it so much. Your entry is cool, I like the master system style. It's chaotic for sure but good fun!

Groll's Revenge by cyrixd 2015-08-27T17:46:00

A good, solid entry. It was fun lunging out of the woods to destroy a wagon, and then dash back to safety. It was pretty brutally difficult, but overall you've done a good job. Well done!

Tentacle Smash by BoxedMeatRevolution 2015-08-25T19:48:00

Really fun game with very satisfying gameplay.

Where-Wolf by mde 2015-08-26T12:54:00

Nice use of the theme and using the moonlight is an interesting idea.

Deftly by Lane 2015-08-27T19:30:00

A very technically impressive entry, the animations and super smooth and the lighting is great! The shooting section at the end is good fun.

Unknown by Florent Juch 2015-08-27T17:50:00

A nice, fun idea!

Super Snack Time! by adsilcott 2015-08-25T19:38:00

Really fun game and it looked and sounded great, killing Mario was surprisingly satisfying.

King Mean's Mean Streak by purenickery 2015-09-03T17:51:00

I really liked the art style and the music. The game was fun although it perhaps could have benefited from a bit more audio/visual feedback when you were hitting something or were being hit yourself. It's a very stylish, excellent entry!

Kill It With Fire by StabAlarash 2015-08-28T20:37:00

A good entry, I like the atmosphere and the mood. It's a nice take on the theme.

The Most Boring Game Ever by Romixal 2015-08-27T19:52:00

This game just caused me to get told off in a hotel, I don't know what higher praise I could give. It also broke my laptops graphics card, again though in a good way! I had a lot of fun with this. The upgrades and end boss were very cool.

(Even though our games are not similar, I like to think that your game is what happens after someone has won our game)

Lardum by Grahhhhh 2015-08-31T15:22:00

Loved the secret ending, really funny game

Monster in the city by Kyatric 2015-08-26T21:06:00

I would have liked to control the monsters movements directly, but I having the auto movements did allow you to use all of the arrows keys for the different attacks, which i liked. I got into a good rhythm of bashing stuff, timing the purple attack to get rid of the missiles and then using the fire breath. It took me a a little while to figure out you could aim the fire, and once I started doing that it felt pretty cool and I managed to get a better score (logged in to Scirra arcade to record a score and got a worse one!)

Birthday Monster by justthestudio 2015-08-28T17:13:00

Really liked the style and graphics. Interesting take on the theme.

The Sacrifice by foxboard 2015-09-02T12:26:00

A fabulous art-style, although some elements could stand out a bit more (like the icons below the houses when you assign a job). It's very hard to balance the requirements, a bit of a slower introduction into the game play would have helped. It's a really interesting concept, and the audio is great too! Great work!

Fifty shades of chalk by Deadeyejoe 2015-08-27T20:06:00

I liked the game and the art, although I found it a little frustrating to have to start again every time. I enjoyed what I played

Save the Monster! by marudziik 2015-08-26T18:38:00

I liked the retro graphics!

Oozin' in Space! by bclikesyou 2015-08-26T20:43:00

This was pretty difficult, the guards seemed to be super-human blob killing machines! I liked the overall look of the game

The Peasants Are Revolting! by Volumes of Fun 2015-08-25T22:11:00

It didn't run very well for me, but the overall look was very cool, I liked the voxels and the destructible terrain. It was a nice little village with some cool touches

Monster at School by Togimaro 2015-09-06T12:25:00

A fun game with a simple idea, good work! A very solid entry.

MONSTERS CARD GAME by alienart 2015-09-09T18:04:00

It's good to see a card game! The mechanics are very simple top trumps style but you've added in an element of choice and tactics (by giving the player a range of cards to select from, and by creating attack/defence rounds). Others have found the balancing off, I think because it is random cards (rather than deck building) that the difficulty will always vary. It was quite easy for me. An interesting idea, just needs polish and balancing. Good work!

Sly Slime - Revenge On All Players by reckhou 2015-08-28T11:08:00

Wow, a beautiful and fun game. It is very polished, I loved the mood.

You came in peace by CADmiy 2015-09-02T18:16:00

I really like the idea, I think it's a good take on the theme. I had the same problem as other commenters where I wasn't doing anything, nobody was firing and everybody was exploding. It would've been nice if there had been an indicator showing who had been hypnotised as well. It was a great concept though, and a difficult one to implement so I think you've done well in the time!

Me by jofra 2015-08-28T10:14:00

I absolutely love the art and the atmosphere! One of the best looking games I've seen so far. It's a shame that it isn't developed a bit more. A beautiful start.

The Skinwalker by Mothdan 2015-08-28T21:04:00

A very atmospheric entry, unfortunately I could quite tell how I was supposed to achieve my goal. I had quite a few technical glitches too, such as a human floating over a bed and flying through me. It had a nice feel to it, and the audio was good.

Woustal by lonkost 2015-08-29T09:49:00

It's a lovely game idea, the levels currently are very easy to complete as there is only one obvious route through them. I'd like to see it developed further, interesting use of the theme.

You must not by kerotan24 2015-08-29T09:54:00

Good to see another Construct 2 game, I like the face swapping mechanic. A surreal experience, it would be nice to see a bit more explanation and context included. It had a nice mood.

Quarantine Zone #1 by TMW 2015-08-29T10:04:00

Love the idea, great to see turn-based games! My approach was to be brutal. I was a horrible, horrible person and left very few alive in quarantine zone 1. I think if you found a way of ramping up the emotional cost (and the cost in terms of gameplay) of killing innocents then I think you'd have a fantastic game on your hands. Good work!

The Mammoth: A Cave Painting by inbetweengames 2015-08-28T11:04:00

Fantastic game. I love games that look hand-painted or drawn. The mood, audio and ideas are all wonderful!

Almost Heroic by xvw 2015-08-27T20:00:00

It's good to see an RPG in LD, not an easy task. The music and graphics are great, and the battle system is clever. Good work!

Doom, Death & Destruction (Tycoon) by WhoIsNoahGames 2015-09-02T20:28:00

The basic web version just didn't work for me, I couldn't read the text and it was having trouble scrolling with the mouse. The WebGL version for some reason was much better. It's a nice concept, the UI text is a bit unreadable, I had to work out what the buttons were by using them. I can see a lot of potential in the idea, and the zones are an interesting mechanic for a real-time strategy game.

Dark Lord by AlexSet 2015-08-27T19:04:00

The audio and lighting make for a nice mood, but the lighting is so low that it makes it difficult to see what is going on some of the time. It could benefit from a few more instructions too. There is definitely potential though, creating a 3d game in the time period is a great achievement!

Dude, Stop by Patomkin 2015-08-25T21:25:00

What a great idea! Due to my personality, completing this game was actually super hard... every time i figured out what I needed to do I could barely bring myself to do it. superb work

Stoned Golem by ArchonMode 2015-08-28T08:28:00

Your idea is definitely unusual! It's funny and quite fun pushing the houses around to create maximum devastation.

Imp by bbqbaron 2015-09-02T20:33:00

It's good to see a turn-based game, I like the basic mechanics. It could benefit from a bit of polish but there is potential here.

iMonster by chkkll 2015-08-29T11:06:00

I really liked the art and feel of the game. As you say, it would have been nice to have an aim or some reward. Even so great game.

Blood, The Monster is You by mikethingsbetter 2015-08-26T18:05:00

I enjoyed reading though this, it would have been good to have a few more choices to help engage the player, but I appreciate you were trying to tell a story to fit with the theme. Well done on your first LD!

Monstre de Coiffure by Patacorow 2015-08-25T19:55:00

That was amazing. Really good idea and great graphics.

Strider by CiderPunk 2015-09-09T11:55:00

It's a very ambitious attempt, doing a 3D game in the compo is a tough challenge. Loved the voices, and hey, now you know how to do IK and keyframing! So it sounds like you've learnt a lot from the competition even if the game isn't quite where you'd wanted it.

Heavy Metal Monster by Manoloko 2015-09-06T10:33:00

It's a simple, fun take on the theme. I found the guard animations funny. It could do with a bit more polish, the later levels were starting to get challenging though and that made it more fun.

LD34 — Two Button Controls / Growing

Milgram by Kortuga 2016-01-03T12:05:00

That was excellent, good job. Really enjoyed the voice work and the unique take on the theme.

From the Sea, Freedom by SecondDimension 2015-12-16T15:55:00

@tyrants.not.found.team

Thanks for the feedback. There should definitely be music, it's a big part of the game and we spent a long time on it. Sorry you couldn't hear it and experience the game in full, what were you playing it on?

From the Sea, Freedom by SecondDimension 2015-12-17T17:45:00

@Webravenz

Thanks Webravenz. The theme we used is growing. When you swim past the plants they grow and more fish appear, the idea was the diver is regrowing the ocean and bringing it back to life.

Oh My Beard! by StaNov 2015-12-20T17:33:00

I played this for quite a long time, really funny idea and cool little game

Life: The Game by ohmaigawd 2016-01-02T15:59:00

Fantastic game, really enjoyed playing all the way through.

Space Eater by kevin_pauly 2015-12-15T12:50:00

Really fun game and nice use of both themes.

Enliven by Patacorow 2015-12-30T16:04:00

This was great, the introduction of the various plants worked really well for me and I enjoyed the puzzle aspect of it. The graphics were nice and all the platforming worked well, great entry!

Concrete Jungle by Miltage 2015-12-20T16:28:00

Really clever idea and it all works as you'd expect Timelapse effects are great. Pretty much perfect compo entry I would say, well done

ORB LORDS by TravisChen 2016-01-02T15:31:00

Graphics and style are fantastic, nice to see a Pinball game on Ludum Dare.

Fun with magnets! by Ithildin 2015-12-16T21:27:00

Really fun game, I wanted to play more levels. Graphics were simple but really suited the game. A great entry.

Harvest by rxi 2015-12-17T11:52:00

Great mood as always, really liked the audio. I found this one quick difficult I have to say. Took me a while to figure out how the eat the wheat (twice I staved to death amongst a field of fully grown wheat!)
It was good and frantic once I figured it out though. Really nice polished little game

Carrion Forge: Fusion Gunship by Dining Philosopher 2015-12-16T13:41:00

Nice game and concept. Found it really hard at first, would have liked more time at the start before getting attacked so much. Once you get the hang of it the game is more fun.

treadmill by rogueNoodle 2016-01-02T15:05:00

Really nice game. The graphics and colour palette were fantastic. Also nice use of the theme, great entry!

Arc by ChuiGum 2015-12-17T13:35:00

Very difficult game but fun once you get the hang of it. Nice graphics and really like the concept.

Snow Goat Avalanche by loxo 2015-12-17T13:42:00

A fun game to play. Shame you didn't have time to do the animation, a rolling snowball would have addad a lot to the game.

Void by bakudas 2015-12-20T16:08:00

I found the drag controls a bit unresponsive, and ended up getting hit a few times because it didn't do what I expected. Other than that it was a cool game with a really nice mood, the graphics and audio worked nicely together

Monster Munch by Leuthil 2015-12-16T16:30:00

Great little game and I really liked the sound effects, I'm really hungry now :)

Unbarren by Orava 2015-12-16T21:16:00

Really nice game, the graphics and mood were excellent.

Riders On The Steppes by theholychicken 2015-12-20T16:14:00

When the numbers were large and the millions of arrows started flying I thought it was really cool

Tale Of Two Buttons by RevelBase 2015-12-16T14:27:00

Really liked the graphics and audio, really suited the game. Your take on the two button theme was great, I would never have thought of that.

Owl Boy's Stellar Garden by Oxeren 2015-12-16T14:19:00

Really nice game, I liked the art style and character design.

Longbeard by Joe Williamson 2015-12-20T18:00:00

It's a shame you didn't get to finish. Great interpretation of the theme though, and a beautiful looking game

Molly Flower's by Agram 2015-12-16T21:11:00

Art and music are very well done, amazing work in the time we had. Great entry :)

Tokyo Wars by Valandre 2015-12-20T17:20:00

The style was nice, I liked the how the city and the cars looked. I think the controls could do with a bit of tweaking but overall an impressive entry

Radical Revolver Recoil Rampage by AndreasL 2015-12-20T17:14:00

Wow very cool. My best was 54, is that good? It was very hard but mostly I always felt like failure was my own fault. I think the spikes were the only things that sometimes felt unfair, but dodging the bullets and enemies was really fun and a great interpretation of the theme

BOOST by Tuism 2015-12-20T17:07:00

This is great, the audio and graphics work really well. I think it was slightly frustrating to have to get the fuel as you could't see that far ahead, I feel like just avoiding things would have been enough of a challenge. The controls were great though, maybe needed tightening a little. I think this would be a cool mobile game with a touch button on each side at the bottom of the screen

Garden Grow by justinooncx 2015-12-30T16:09:00

Haha I was terrible at this, my best was 40. It was fun in short bursts though. I liked the music and the main character design

Jumping J.A.C.K. by Donar 2015-12-31T18:37:00

I really liked the physics aspect of this, and it was very satisfying to make jumps etc. I found it just a little too frustrating to play for long though, I appreciate that not being able to go left was part of the mechanics, and it was interesting, but it just felt like a bit of a grind to me. This definitely deserves high marks for theme as you took the limitation and built the whole design around it, and I know there will be players out there who appreciate the challenge

Row Row Row Your Goat by A-Flat Miner Studios 2015-12-16T17:51:00

Fantastic graphics and style and also very fun to play. A really polished entry.

Lifenodes. by Remicy 2015-12-31T18:14:00

It was nice to see something personal, it was an interesting game. We're expecting our first baby in May next year so this sort of stuff is on my mind a lot. This kind of game is fairly rare in LD so I enjoyed the experience

2ButtonsAdventure by Zyow 2016-01-02T15:49:00

Loved the graphics and the music, great entry.

O3000 by farwyler 2016-01-02T15:27:00

A very well polished game with great style.

Fun game and the graphics were great, really liked the look and feel of it.

Bitrun by Devark 2015-12-17T12:46:00

Nice pixel graphics and sounds, it felt like a complete game. I was terrible at it though!

Potatiana Jones by Ildfuglen 2015-12-30T16:43:00

The idea was cool and I enjoyed playing - although I did have one ragequit moment when I pressed R instead of E. I think some of the vine growing bits were clever and could definitely be expanded on, although I think the controls were a little slidy for any precision vine jumping and could be tightened up a bit. Would really benefit from controller option as well I think. Keep up the easter eggs!

Mazes of Random by fragileannihilator 2015-12-20T16:50:00

I think you did really well in the improvements you've made since you posted a version on the blog. The different room types are cool, and it felt like you had a choice to make every time, good work

Gjallarhorn by NoWandStudios 2016-01-02T14:57:00

Fun game with great style, the music fitted perfectly.

The Everything Building by Kepab 2015-12-17T18:13:00

The Cube of Zanigriv by anarbitrarymustache 2016-01-02T15:11:00

2 button metroidvania by JaJ 2015-12-20T18:02:00

Top marks for theme, very clever and a great entry. Some pretty great game design here!

Grow Up! by sergear 2015-12-16T16:36:00

Great use of both the themes. Good graphics and I enjoyed the gameplay. It's sometimes impossible to avoid some of the objects though. A very well polished game.

Disphere by TerraCottaFrog 2016-01-02T15:00:00

Fun, simple game play and great use of the theme.

The Wild Flower's Song by NidzaKornjaca 2016-01-02T15:45:00

What a lovely experience, really liked the mood and atmosphere.

Memory Jump by dregamr 2015-12-20T17:44:00

I sort of wish you'd done this game with a different theme, because I thought it was a very cool idea, but just made a little too frustrating by the 2-button control scheme. Other than that everything was done very nicely

SpaceGrown -- Grow your own space station! (TM) by bushmango 2016-01-02T22:16:00

Really liked the game, graphics and sound suit it perfectly.

SpaceHex by Sheepolution 2015-12-20T17:47:00

As others have said it was just a little too hard, which is a shame because it's a near idea. The graphics were very nice and I really like the idea of building up the hexes to make a ship. Great little character designs too

Repulsion by DieBackStudios 2016-01-02T21:56:00

Fun game, I like the style and use of the theme.

Illogical Lives by marod 2016-01-02T15:17:00

Really fun game and great first entry to Ludum Dare.

U.G.O by aamatniekss 2015-12-20T17:07:00

It was a bit unforgiving, especially as you grew. Would be nice to start again from the stage you reached. It was a cool idea though, and is definitely worthy of full marks for theme. The graphics are cool too and suit the gameplay well

Decay Dynamics by NotoriousFlex 2015-12-20T15:56:00

The graphics were nice, very clean and professional. It was just shame that I spent the whole time looking at the icons, so didn't really get much chance to appreciate the look and mood of the game. It's a cool idea, so it would be nice if the main gameplay elements and graphical outcome were merged somehow

Call of the Void by OverHook Games 2015-12-16T21:34:00

I fun game to play with a high level of polish, really liked the music as well.

MILK TEETH by Rufson 2015-12-20T17:51:00

Tiny Tyrant by tyrants.not.found.team 2015-12-16T16:12:00

I little difficult to throw the items sometimes. Game looks good and nice idea.

Polygonal by NightShadow0 2016-04-22T19:07:00

I really liked the music when it changed after a 20 seconds, so I had to keep playing to try and get better so I could hear it! It was cool when it switched directions, it's a small thing but I think it made it a lot more engaging that it wasn't just a linear runner

Solar Explorer by Pixelfan Games 2016-04-25T19:02:00

Really like the graphics and gameplay was fun, nice entry.

The Mech Republic by aviktorov 2016-04-19T13:03:00

Really liked the graphics and the transformation mechanic was well implemented.

Imperfection by Wertle 2016-04-22T22:58:00

It's quite a simple focused game, and that has meant you can really polish what you have - the whole thing seems pretty flawless in its presentation. At first I thought I was impossible but got the hang of it with a controller and enjoyed it. Actually the controller support was great, really tactile way to play

Corvid by Just Tom 2016-04-30T15:28:00

CatKoonBut by SojaBird 2016-04-22T19:00:00

It's a shame it's so hard, as I found it a little frustrating. There was no real way to know where the birds would be so it was mainly just luck if they got you. It is beautiful though, hiding the main guy and just flying round as a bird was a nice relaxing experience. Top marks for mood

Mountain Fold by PamNawi 2016-04-23T18:48:00

Really liked the origami art style and concept. I had a few jumps that were too big to jump though. A very enjoyable game.

Pasowix's Magical Shapeshifting Workshop by glaze_96 2016-04-22T18:19:00

Eggplant’s Dynamic Chimerization by DAT.NOT.MY.GAME! 2016-04-20T19:00:00

What a strange little game, I liked the low-poly art

Breaking Fat by SantiHisteria 2016-04-20T19:51:00

It was a bit too hard for me (which is funny because I also made a platformer that is too hard!). Anyway I really liked the intro and the idea in general, I think it was quite a unique idea to lose health and turn into the enemies. You can probably do a lot with that idea, like maybe there are different solutions to levels depending on which order you touch the enemies

QUACKTRIS by ronniepedra 2016-04-30T16:33:00

Fantastic graphics and music, really like the cute art style. A fun entry.

Stranded on Planet Shiftos by Thirsty 2016-04-22T22:50:00

I nearly stopped playing before I realised there was a whole level, thought it was just a really tough boss fight! It's good you can choose when to fight the boss though. I liked your main guy and his space camper van too

Really interesting game, I liked the style and limb altering mechanic. A great entry.

GeoShift by WASD 2016-04-22T17:50:00

It's a really nice colour palette, I think it looks great. It's a cool idea to control the level with the speed of the music too. I think there are some points that are quite frustrating, but that's probably just because you were running out of time. Overall it's a great job

Amorphosis by NvrSkipGameDay 2016-04-23T18:54:00

Really fun game but very hard to get the right shape in time. Fantastic concept and game mechanic.

Mutant Chicken Death Jam by norseware 2016-04-20T20:18:00

Fun little game, I liked the pixel art and the giant chicken. The music was excellent!

Blink by samlo 2016-04-20T20:00:00

Great fun with a controller, and very awesome music!

The adventures of Wizard Hamster: The epic battle with dreadful Robot Cactus! by Shizor 2016-04-24T18:37:00

Very enjoyable game, nice graphics and fun gameplay.

Redshift by Echopixel 2016-04-30T15:34:00

Solid platformer and nice art. Shame you didn't get time to put everything in but what you did do was fun.

Enkid by Pythius 2016-05-01T22:04:00

I really liked the graphics and style, the platform game play was solid. I wish the levels were a bit shorter though, especially the 2nd.

Space Angler by snoodleking 2016-04-23T18:42:00

Really tough to match the colours and move the ship at same time. Once I got the hang of it I really enjoyed the colour matching mechanic.

Go Go Golem by Gamescalation 2016-05-02T10:30:00

Nice animations and graphics. Fun gameplay, it was definitely useful having the transformation keys displayed on screen.

Comet Crash by threesided 2016-05-01T22:16:00

A tough game at first, hard to remember the direction for each colour to begin with. After a few goes I got the hang of it and it was very enjoyable.

Block Shift by Templar3lf 2016-04-20T20:05:00

Wow this was tough, but not in a really bad way. It was quite addictive actually, I was trying to figure out the best way to handle things, but as soon as it got to hard mode I panic and failed every time

Avoid the Wall Simulator 2016 by avoidwallcrew 2016-05-02T10:43:00

A nice take on the theme and a fun game. As others have said, moving the body parts can be a bit frustrating.

Cat-Astro-Phe by banana.hammers 2016-04-30T16:06:00

Really like the music and art style, a fun entry.

Mofius by Nevan00 2016-04-30T15:46:00

The art style was great and the game mechanics were really well thought out. A nice entry.

Beneath a killing moon by Holtenice 2016-04-24T16:56:00

Really liked the visual style and colour palette, a very original idea.

Shadow Tail by Ghostdreamer 2016-05-02T10:57:00

Great concept and I loved the style and narration. The shadow puppet story was a very charming idea.

Conviction by JTBurby 2016-04-26T10:04:00

Really liked the art work and colour palette, the game definitely has potential. I look forward to a post-jam version

LD36 — Ancient Technology

Cronus' Tomb by Mr_Field 2016-09-03T20:13:00

I loved the music puzzle and the overall atmosphere, it has a really professional feel to it. The combat and animation was tight, although a little difficult with the controls (proably my only negative about the whole games). Audio visual stuff all high quality

Agnes the Explörer by Znibben 2016-08-31T19:02:00

I think the inventory and control method could use some improvement, it was a bit frustrating to select and use things. But there was a nice sense of exploration here, I liked that you have to discover things on your own. I enjoyed playing it

CAVEMAN HARRY by Flatgub 2016-08-30T18:12:00

Really nice, definitely captured that Jet Set Willy vibe. I liked the room called 'You're not missing anything' because that' exactly why I went down there

Rampage of Technology by kokiriandco 2016-09-03T20:15:00

Movement & jumping was a bit tricky, but good work on getting in the different mechanics (changing, swinging etc). The graphics and colour palette were nice, and intro was really cool

Cryptoglyphics by Bogden 2016-09-03T23:55:00

This was great fun, like a different variation of hangman. Crowd-sourcing the glyphs was such a cool idea

Hammer Stone by 9.ar7k 2016-08-30T18:20:00

Neat game, I like the graphics (the little icon when you die is really cool). It's an interesting idea to change your jumps based on how much you're carrying, worth exploring more I think

Kirstine Bengtsson by Kirstine 2016-08-31T19:22:00

Wow that future rabbit was fast! I struggled a bit with the jumps due to the movement speed, although it was a lot easier when I started pressing jump and then moving once in the air. I'd say work on giving the character a little more weight. Also some feedback when you get hit would help as I didn't realise those dark rocks where hurting until i noticed my health had all gone. Don't mean to be negative though, it looks good and has a really nice individual art style

LD37 — One room

Christmas Time by Jon Reid 2016-12-30T14:54:00

Clever idea and good use of the theme.

Leave The Room by Irioder 2016-12-30T15:02:00

Fun game and good graphics. Controls seemed to be a bit odd.

Life.exe by wujood 2016-12-30T20:12:00

I got to the Rabbit Hole part, I knew I had to use the numbers by the pictures, then cat and then radio, but there were too many numbers by the pictures. I tried a lot of different combinations but couldn't get one to work, there's probably another part of it that I'm missing. I liked the atmosphere of the rabbit hole section, and the first 2 puzzles felt like a good difficulty to me

Unfinished Shaman Game Demo by alexmakovsky 2016-12-13T15:20:00

I liked the art and character design and I think it could be a nice game when finished.

Trapped by lupusinsanus 2016-12-18T16:20:00

The game has a nice overall look, the style ties together nicely. Audio fitted the game well. The gameplay was also good fun, although I'd have preferred not to have to restart every time so I could see more of the game.

clapclap by Emile Danger 2016-12-30T19:05:00

So funny, I was really laughing every time the guy next to me got angry. A very fun little game, innovative and fits the theme well. Great work!

Fly Away by MagLuTiLa 2016-12-13T15:29:00

Nice idea and I really liked seeing things from the flies perspective.

Granny's Day Out by Potato Dog 2016-12-21T20:13:00

Art style is fantastic and a really fun idea. Couldn't get every gran out though.

Sam by Reflextions 2016-12-18T18:55:00

This was very close to being a perfect LD entry for me, only downaide was that some of the platforming and timings were far too punishing for a narrative game (especially on the oxygen depletion). I think you should have concentrated fully of the story aspect, which was excellent - I was really immersed in it most of the time. You created such a good atmosphere and sense of place, and the flashbacks added some nice backstory. I think the best stories leave you with something to fill in for yourself. Great ending and overall a really good entry, I'm glad I got to play it

32 Days by Haddy22 2016-12-13T14:38:00

Has anyone ever told you your character walks funny :)
The characters and animation were really nice, and the platforming was solid. I was stressed when the timer appeared, but you'd obviously tested the levels as it was balanced pretty well.
What I enjoyed most was the story, it fits the theme really well and you managed to get across a lot of ideas with just 2 characters and a single room, very impressive

Ymen - Danger Classroom by grifdail 2016-12-30T15:11:00

Really like this game, great concept with awesome graphics. Took a while to figure out how to send the fireballs back, once I did it was great fun.

One Room Rush by cesisco 2016-12-18T16:23:00

Wow, you nailed it with the feel of the game I think. It was tough, but in a way that makes you want one more go. The simple aesthetic suits the game style as well, great job

Frantic Synergia by TheBlueGamer55 2016-12-22T17:00:00

Great idea linking the two game styles/mechanics.

Ludum Dynamics (TM) by geometrix 2016-12-13T15:04:00

I loved this, reminded me of Black Mirror the TV show. Overall it was pretty depressing, and I think it achieved the mood you were going for perfectly. All the little touches were really nice, like the little flap to look down the hallway.
Is it a spoiler to say that I used CTRL+C to hack my way to a lot of money? I did want a volcano but I died of fatigue before I achieved my dreams.

The Wiggle Room by panurge 2016-12-30T18:40:00

Fun game once you get the hang of it. I liked the graphics.

Obelisk by Almax27 2016-12-23T11:45:00

Fun game and I really liked the grappling hook. Nice graphics.

Remote Operations Team - Tactical Extraction Action by HuvaaKoodia 2016-12-18T16:01:00

I can see you ran out of time on this one a bit, but what you've done is cool. The idea of using the different unit together is fun. I think it would have benefited a lot from extra feedback, such as health bars and cones of vision on the enemies, and also a little timer when extracting. I was surprised at how hardcore those sheep were at the end!

Gentleman's Darling by ziege 2016-12-13T15:47:00

The rooms changing was a great idea and I liked the style. A fun game.

Boxed In by EvilObjective 2016-12-23T11:36:00

I Clean Toilet by Flaterectomy 2016-12-29T17:45:00

Great game and I really liked the art.

ROOM by spacedoubt 2016-12-13T14:47:00

Despite a long time not believing in that poster, I finally found it. Was a cool little trippy experience, was mesmerising to walk round and round a spinning toilet. Fits the theme really well, as it was like distorted perspective to fit a whole house into a single room

Zombie Swarm by Magius96 2016-12-16T13:30:00

Fun game with solid gameplay.

ISS - Infuriating Space Simulator by Scruffy 2016-12-30T17:57:00

Great game and good use of the theme. Challenging but enjoyable.

Anne Frankly, I Did Not See That Family by Lightyear 2016-12-16T13:55:00

Really nice idea and great graphics. Was it possible to finish? I played for a long time but nothing happened.

Sleeper's Curse by scorched 2016-12-30T20:23:00

I completed it! It was a little hard to figure out I had a time limit with the tentacles, but once I did then it was fun solving the puzzle. The graphics and audio set a nice mood, I liked how I turned into a giant at the end :D

The Infinity Prison by Multiplexor 2016-12-21T19:49:00

Really fun game and very addictive.

Ask Her by Sorak86 2016-12-21T19:30:00

I really like the idea of telling a story with the photos. Started by using sentences but nothing was reconised, so I just used a single word which seemed to work.

The Paper Ship by kirilllosev 2016-12-21T19:57:00

Really liked the art style, with some more gameplay elements it could be something special.

The Fluffy Factory by piller.yann 2016-12-13T15:35:00

Really like the idea and the style, music got a little annoying but overall a great game.

One Room Hotel by TerraCottaFrog 2016-12-30T20:41:00

This was really fun! The inclusion of a build mode in-between levels was a great way to build up the challenge. Was it random I wonder? Because I had a tower with 1 swimming pool and about a million people demanding to go swimming. Anyway great take on the theme and a lot of personality!

Hôtel by antonfagerberg 2016-12-18T16:15:00

Great entry, one of the best uses of the theme I have seen. The graphics were cute and I loved the music!

Loop Hell by axoona 2016-12-30T14:40:00

Really liked the art style and colour palette. Interesting idea.

rotomanor by jelch 2016-12-16T13:35:00

mikey's ice fishing by Thirsty 2016-12-13T15:33:00

Hey good job Mikey on the drawings, this is a great idea to get kids into game dev. I'm hoping my little girl can help me out one day in the future (she needs to learn walking before development though!)

The Man and The Whale by Stavu 2016-12-13T15:16:00

Really liked the art work and idea, would love to play the finished version.

Obi's Christmas Adventure by Joshsimard 2016-12-13T15:25:00

That was a really fun game, the art style was really nice. Some of the background looks like platforms and was a little confusing but overall a great game.

Dead by Morning by VeryBadBunny 2016-12-18T16:11:00

It found I had a few problems - the stereo sound was a bit buggy, and I couldn't always open things even when I had the key. Apart from that I think the graphics and mood were very nice, there was a creepy atmosphere (especially in the other reality)

The Room in The Ocean by zoopei 2016-12-30T23:34:00

Interesting game with a unique feel.

ToyZ by Asghardian 2016-12-30T18:28:00

LD38 — A Small World

W.R.L.D. (World Reconnaissance eLite Defense) by TerraCottaFrog 2017-05-20T14:16:05Z

Well done on a highly polished shooter! I couldn't get anywhere near the high scores though, a bit too hard for me - think I may have done better with a controller.

Great particle effects and smooth movement, and well done on the variety of enemies etc. Graphics were nice, the retro look was done really well.

Blomst 🌻 by Ava Skoog 2017-05-13T19:16:46Z

I really enjoyed this entry overall, my thoughts are:

**Negatives:** I found picking up seeds really inconsistent, always took a few attempts. Going to the shop and selling just felt like a lot of pointless clicks. When I first started playing I almost gave up as I didn't think there was anything to do, so maybe just needed a bit more to do at the start. Only 3 inventory slots was quite annoying and not sure it added much, as the game didn't seem to be about challenging the player.

**Positives:** You managed to fit a lot of gameplay in here, the various plants unlocking past certain percentages was a nice mechanic. There were no game-breaking bugs, it all held together well and the design was of a high standard. I liked how the planet developed over time, it was a nice feeling to help to grow things. The game was very beautiful and the audio fitted well, so top marks for mood. It was a slow-paced and relaxing game, which I'm a big fan of if done right.

My lasting impression was good, definitely more positive than negative :sunflower: :rose: :cactus:

My world by Erkberg 2017-05-13T18:29:02Z

I thought this was a fantastic entry, I played through twice to get both endings and enjoyed both. I was so impressed by this approach, with the story changing based on how you react.

I found the first playthrough was the most affecting though - I was guilty of just killing the intruders, because videogames, so the ending did surprise me and make me think about that decision. With everything going on here in the UK and over in America I found it quite a powerful message actually.

The gameplay was secondary, so don't need to focus on it too much, but I agree with others that it was too floaty and a bit unforgiving with the water boundaries. The atmosphere was nice though, the rain effects and music worked together really well. Overall top marks from me!

StopWatch by SkullPixel 2017-05-04T19:50:44Z

Wow great game! It fits the theme really well, and the graphics/audio work nicely together. The mood was excellent, something about the little floating islands just felt really nice.

The central mechanic is really cool, definitely something you can build on. I think being able to absorb more than 1 hit would be really helpful in making this a game you could play for a longer period of time. I think that would encourage some experimentation, risk taking etc. Plus sometimes I think you start in positions that are impossible to get out of.

Star Traveller by SecondDimension 2017-05-18T12:32:21Z

Thanks everyone for the kind comments, we really appreciate it

Star Traveller by SecondDimension 2017-05-19T16:08:07Z

@richard-michael-smith Thanks for playing, although a bit confused what you mean as there is no second moons puzzle??

I wonder if you just went back to the first level that was already completed, maybe we should have made it clear when you went back to an area that there was nothing else to do there

A Small World Cup by rujo 2017-05-07T17:08:46Z

Hello fellow Construct dev! I absolute love what you've done here, I played it for ages. It's similar to a prototype I have, so at least I know it's possible now  (mine is not football and is nowhere near as good as yours, it's a little battle simulator).

I know the pixel grid will probably divide people, but I really like it. The slow-mo was perfect, it was great seeing your guy flailing into the sky after you'd just scored. I think the AI feels like it knows what's going on, which is impressive, although it's perhaps a little too hard in the first few games.

Overall a great jam game, top marks in fun and humour, congrats

Last Bloom by NvrSkipGameDay 2017-05-20T15:23:30Z

Graphics and themes were nice, audio fitted well with that. I thought the controls were really good too, platforming on keyboard isn't always great, but it just felt quite natural here so well done for that. Only thing on the controls is that it seems a bit unfair that pressing down on the lowest platform makes you jump to your doom (I caught this a few time by accident).

The mechanic of knocking things off was quite fun too, I think it just needs a bit more of a sense of impact when you hit the slimes (some sound effect and visual feedback). If you had nailed the feeling of really punching them off it would have been super satisfying.

Pod2000 by nidup 2017-05-13T20:44:56Z

This has an amazing atmosphere, I played through twice and got 2 different endings. I listened through headphones and enjoyed the audio clips. Fantastic entry, top marks!

Candy Cave Quest by ashtheevil 2017-05-13T20:57:40Z

What a wonderful ending! I love the message, it was really sweet. I only got stuck on one bit, but got through it eventually, other than that it was really fun fun!

Fog and Glass by Alex bezuska 2017-05-20T12:40:21Z

Non-games are definitely welcome, I enjoyed the experience

Minos' Pond by Reflextions 2017-05-05T13:31:35Z

Wow there is a lot going on here! So it seems like each island has a different resource, and all the islands need all the resources... so every region gathers what they can and shares it among the others? I think that's a great idea that has potential to be expanded.

It seems like you got a lot of the mechanics working here, I think my issue is mainly around the interface and the feedback. Some of the buildings were tiny and blended in with the grass, and having tooltips to explain what things were would have been really helpful. Also some way to jump between the islands quickly. I think you should keep working on it if the idea interests you, there are a lot of things you could do with it.

tinyarena by rxi 2017-05-05T10:53:17Z

This is a very solid little arena game, good fun to play (Although I _reeeeeally_ wanted to use a controller). As usual your pixelart is very charming and gives the game a great look and feel.

Although there was no music, the sound effects were outstanding, especially combined with the visual feedback. Getting hit, firing or getting a kill all felt super satisfying!

King Of The Seals by MiggyG 2017-05-07T11:35:20Z

144 points! Is that good? Special Move 3 was insane, it looked like my seal was phasing between dimensions and he became unstoppable.

I think this fits the theme really well, it was a good simple game jam idea and make me smile a lot!

Snake On A Plane by spacedoubt 2017-05-04T19:42:23Z

No way is your high score 39! I think we should dedicate literally all of Ludum Dare's resources to investigating that claim. Music was really cool, helped drive you along and fitted the neon look. I think you could make this thing really fun with a few tweaks, like a turning animation so the camera didn't just flip. Also think it would be cool to be able to look round without turning (like a lean control in an FPS game).

**Final thought:** _Read Dune > make this snake a sand worm > make the orbs tiny soldiers > set the game in the Arrakis desert > make a million dollars_

Bugyard by rilem 2017-05-05T12:34:03Z

Hi @rilem, fellow C2 developer. You guys have a really ambitious polished game as usual!

The idea and setting was neat, I especially loved hatching out of the egg and idea of it being a little home inside. Some nice fun references in there as well. I did struggle a bit with the controller though, the button mappings were off (B was jump and A was attack), plus I couldn't walk past someone without initiating the dialogue so had to jump over them. In Gameplay terms the platforming felt good, the only issue I had was with the vines - jumping off onto a platform was difficult as you would just hit your head and fall down.

Graphics and audio are high quality, and the little animation effects and juice are fantastic. The sine behaviour is a good one, but no idea how you used Paster to do the water (I may have to experiment with that)

Also, did you know that you're my official nemesis? Just because you do the programming with C2 and usually have a team of 3 (same as us), but mainly because I always check your results and you always beat me! I guess that means that you're the good guy and I'm the bad guy

Snowday by Jon Tiburzi 2017-05-20T15:12:59Z

This was so beautiful, I genuinely love it. It has helped me relax and feel better today, thank you. Audio was just perfect

Flerth by parahunter 2017-05-13T18:36:35Z

That was... pretty dark actually. Scary how quickly I changed from a benevolent god trying to keep them safe, to just smashing everyone to death to cover up the truth :punch:

Graphics were nice and the controls worked well, good level of polish for a jam game!

Atlas by CountTyranus 2017-05-20T15:29:42Z

I did read the tutorial, but still found it really hard to figure out what was going on. The idea and design of the turtle was fantastic though.

Congratulations on your first Ludum Dare, it's a great way to learn. Looking forward to seeing something awesome from you next time!

Don't Make Me Stop This Car! by UncleChris 2017-05-12T19:08:36Z

Well done on getting something completed! I managed to win after about 6 turns, but there were a few times when it was impossible because all the lanes were full! The idea was quite different actually, it was a shame you had to cut the metres as it feels like the game needs something else.

PixelWorld by Dom Harris 2017-05-07T17:49:54Z

The controls were not great for me, I originally tried the web version with a keyboard, but then downloaded the windows build and tried with a controller. Neither felt great to me, the player character flew up into the air crazy fast and was hard to control. The right stick firing didn't seem to work either, despite trying to remap. So I think the controls are the area to work on. As others said I think some moving enemies or hazards would have been good.

The audio visual combination was good though. and suited the style you were going for really well. I think if the controls were tight then it could be quite an energising and fun game.

Arindama by Daniel Moreno 2017-05-20T13:20:47Z

Nice entry, I enjoyed playing around and trying to build stuff. I managed to figure out some of the recipes, and it was nice to have that bit of discovery. If you let the first tree bloom fruit then there was no way back that I could see? I wish there had been controller support, as others have said trying to get the blocks in the right place could be a bit frustrating.

In Good Hands by simple-blue 2017-05-20T11:45:26Z

I really like god games in general, although I agree that the 3D made it tough to know what was going on (although maybe that was the intention). It was a charming little game though, visuals and mood were spot on

kumo. by Turbo Hermit 2017-05-04T18:30:53Z

I really like finding these little experience games, something I'm interested in making myself (especially with the audio). The mood is lovely, great job. I liked the rain sound effect a lot, left it running in the background for a while.

It Shakes the World Apart by lectvs 2017-05-20T15:03:57Z

I always find 1 or 2 games every Ludum Dare that offer a really nice narrative experience, and this is definitely a good one! I really connected with the story and thought the ending was great. The character designs were nice too, really glad I got to play this one

The Deep by GertJohnny 2017-05-20T12:25:02Z

This is close to perfect really, everything was so well executed. I'm a huge fan of the audio design especially, the sonar pings were lovely, the ladders and creaks and machinery all sounded great. I liked how tactile all the various control systems were too, whilst staying very responsive. Amazing work

Miniverse by sebasrez 2017-05-14T19:24:58Z

The idea seems quite original and the design/pixel art is all really nice. My main issue was that I think maybe there was more to this game than I was getting? It wasn't clear how the relics worked in the battle grid, if I'd won or lost, what the goal was etc. It also seemed like there was some story hidden in there? So I think you've made something unique and interesting, but maybe not succeeded at communicating a lot of things to the player

Tribes of the Turtleland by ArtKurkowski 2017-05-05T10:43:30Z

This fits the theme very nicely, the turtle looks great and is a good setting for a little strategy game. The gameplay itself was a cool simplified mechanic too, so I think high scores for theme and innovation.

I agree with others that a turn-based approach would be good, it felt a bit like a 'clicker' game at times, where it was less about the strategic placing of your people and more about how fast you could click.

Gacu by p01ymorph 2017-05-13T21:04:03Z

The collisions felt a little harsh, but the graphics are nicely done (although you don't get time to really appreciate them!)

Stable Orbit by mrspeaker 2017-05-13T20:26:11Z

I failed at doing that a lot, like so many times. Think I got there in the end, I'm guessing there is no 'win' state though? Manged to orbit about 6 times without intervention so I'm counting that as a win. Really liked the audio, gave it lonely spacey atmosphere

SurviBall by Raysangar 2017-05-12T19:19:54Z

Hi, the game looks very pretty and has a nice atmosphere, but I'm afraid I just don't understand how to play. I tried following your suggestions at the top, but I just loose a hunger point every day and then it's game over. I took the cabbage to the house but I didn't get any health back? I guess I'm doing something wrong, but I tried a lot of things and the game didn't really give me any clues

Landshift by undefinist 2017-05-05T16:48:19Z

I love these kinds of games, got addicted to Threes and a few other similar things. Plus I'm a big Carcassonne fan. This is much nicer in terms of theme than Threes (more satisfying to make a little river than multiply numbers). Looks very tidy and polished too.

Strangely I found it a lot harder than some of these games, I think it's because in Threes when you 'connect' 2 numbers you merge 2 tiles together and make another space on the grid, giving you more room. Whereas here, you have to complete an entire 'Feature' before you can make space. Because of that I found the board filled up a bit quickly, does that make sense?

Space Raiders by Smeax 2017-05-05T12:53:17Z

Beautiful game, I genuinely love the graphics and the atmosphere! I had some trouble getting out of the heart area as well, couldn't double-jump out of there. I think overall the movement was a little too fast for the precision that you need (to chop down trees etc). The shooting felt very satisfying though, great blood particles when you kills the bugs!

This is not a criticism, more my own preference, but I would love to explore more of this little world you created without the stress of fighting and crafting all the time

RASHLANDER by ryguydavis 2017-05-14T19:10:42Z

This was really too hard for me, although I'm not really a difficulty guy at all so probably not the target audience. I played for a while though and did the first couple of areas, I did really appreciate the aesthetic and the audio as it created a great lo-fi mood

Bubblenaut by TheFunAttic 2017-05-20T15:38:12Z

This feels like a very original idea, not like anything else I have played in terms of theme. Graphics were really well done

Becky's very very Small and TOTALLY not mundane World by pmarincak 2017-05-20T11:42:22Z

Thought this was a nice little self-contained jam game, the graphics were charming and it all worked together well as a package. I can see this being expanded into a little collection of office-based mini-games and being fun.

I enjoyed the typing the most, but would have liked backspace or delete to work - it felt a bit frustrating that you couldn't correct yourself. I feel like the challenge should be how quick you can get it right, so mistakes are punished by needing extra time to backspace etc. I like how some of the sentences started the same but were different, I thought I had learnt them and then you tricked me with a new one!

The coffee and stapler weren't so much of a challenge, I thought I had to be careful with coffee not to spill it actually. That could have been fun, so you held down space to pour and released it to stop pouring, and you had to fill it up without over-filling. Anyway just some random ideas from me  Overall a good entry, well done!

Small Planets by Tom Raudys 2017-05-06T13:23:55Z

As others have said, this was ambitious for a weekend project. It's a really impressive achievement to get it finished and working with all the planets, flying, resource gathering etc.

The gameplay itself was a bit too grindy for me, it wasn't that interesting to punch a lot of trees and rocks. Having said that, I did enjoy landing on the different planets and seeing the landscapes. There were cool crystals and palm trees and giant purple things, the atmosphere was great on the stranger planets.

LD39 — Running out of Power

Rejig the ship by madmarcel 2017-08-12T13:40:39Z

It's a shame you didn't get chance to finish, I really liked the graphics and the idea of building a ship was cool. Music was also nice, and fitted the sailing theme well.

Modular Destruction Labs by SecondDimension 2017-08-03T21:42:52Z

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I've now fixed the issue with level 5 not advancing, so it's now possible to play all 7 levels and finish the game. Having said that, levels 6 is accidentally super hard, we're sorry!

Modular Destruction Labs by SecondDimension 2017-08-03T22:16:18Z

I just want to respond to a few of common points:

* I would have liked some modules to stick rigidly to the body, but it would have taken too long (as you then have to calculate what else is around the body and it makes things harder). If I do any post-jam work on the gameplay I might add this

* We discussed being able to move the parts around once you'd placed them, we wanted it but again we just ran out of time and prioritised finishing the game. Another thing for a post-jam version (if there is one)

* Finally, I know the robot is hard to control, I guess that is sort of the idea. We wanted it to be unpredictable as it's pretty funny, although I get that it can be frustrating. If anyone is struggling, then I think the easiest configuration to fly is with 6 modules, all right next to the main body. The best 6 module build is: 2 Rockets 1 Thruster 1 Booster 1 Magnet 1 other tool of your choice

This should give the manoeuvrability to get through any level. The further you place the modules from the main body the harder it is. Putting things right in the 4 corners is basically playing on hard mode.

My Dream by Local Minimum 2017-08-12T13:13:30Z

I like it when Twine games can impart an atmosphere like this, it felt a little oppressive and the confusing (which was perhaps the idea?).

I sometimes felt like I was skipping large parts of it, as it wasn't clear if a word would change or take me to somewhere else. I suspect this was partially done on purpose, but I guess the downside is I felt like I was missing out on the story, maybe it was designed for multiple playthroughs?

Battery by BoltKey 2017-08-13T11:03:50Z

Seems like we have a winner for theme  :battery:

Extraction by roguenoodle 2017-08-12T13:34:49Z

Beautiful graphics, I love the colour palette. The game itself was fun too, trying to balance all the guns and the repairs! To me it felt a little too hard, either the power drained too quickly or didn't recharge quick enough. Other than a little balancing it's a nice entry

PowerCubeStationBoxâ„¢ by NueboMundo 2017-08-12T19:05:17Z

Very cool, it felt nice to interact with the cube, very tactile. I agree with others that I'd like a way to reset the view if the cube gets turned around (although I had fun doing the platform bit upside down!)

It was hard in places, but I kept playing to see how the different elements of the cube worked. Very clever and high marks from me!

I Have No Spoons And I Must Survive In A Capitalist Society by Jane Dove 2017-08-12T18:46:23Z

I like the concept, and you did have to think properly about your decisions. Unfortunately it got stuck quite often so I wasn't able to get to the end, but I did finish my homework!

(Edit: I think the game freezes if you try to click the homework button after you already finished your homework)

Running out of Power Inc. by stuffed wombat 2017-08-12T16:32:32Z

Great job on this, the graphics were simple but worked really well. The low rez black & white fitted the mood nicely. The platforming was solid as well, didn't feel too floaty at all. Also enjoyed the story, and nice ending, not really got anything negative to say!

Fuse Cell by christina-antoinette-neofotistou 2017-08-12T13:00:21Z

Hi fellow Construct dev! I really liked this entry, it took me a while to figure out the charging mechanic (I thought you just held it to the end every time). Once I understood it then I realised how great it was, as you could just do little charges if you were surrounded by bullets, or risk it and try for the max charge if you were really low on energy. It genuinely made the game more interesting and lifts it above a standard shooter.

I think my only complaint was about the hitbox on the player, I just wasn't sure when I was going to take damage. It was most obvious on the expanding circles of bullets, as there was never a big enough gap to get the ship though, but sometimes it was fine and sometimes it wasn't.

Other than that small thing, it was a great entry to be proud of. The graphics were sweet, I especially liked the bigger enemies (Rook was great!), and the audio worked with the visuals. Also top marks for the theme, it was one of the better interpretations I've seen.

X-Moon 2: Dark Moon by leafo 2017-08-12T13:31:05Z

There's a nice mood to this game, the low rez graphics worked well to create the right atmosphere. It was quite unnerving moving around in the dark. The black holes were a little too hard I think, as I often didn't notice them and just randomly died. I still enjoyed playing though and went back to it a few times

Brittle Power by rubyleehs 2017-08-13T10:11:31Z

As others said it feels a bit difficult, I would have liked it to start a bit easier. Also it would have been nice to see some stats on power generation vs power usage. This was a great take on the theme though, and a unique idea to have power matter more than destroying enemies

air mail by rubna 2017-08-13T16:33:17Z

This was a beautiful little experience, it all worked perfectly and I found it very relaxing. I appreciate the choice not to have any kind of HUD or UI, it added to the mood nicely. The flying itself felt great (although controller support would have be good), overall it was a perfect game jam entry

Oh no! Democracy! by Tim Eriksen 2017-08-12T13:25:48Z

I really enjoyed playing this! When I've played card games in previous Ludum Dares, they are often quite confusing and don't work as you expect, but this was spot on. All of the interactions made sense and every interaction behaved exactly as I expected, which is a great achievement for a game jam.

The card were also funny, and being able to hold 3 special cards made things more interesting. I felt like the unrest numbers were higher towards the late game, which worked well. Overall an excellent entry

Stoked by pitpony 2017-08-12T18:37:53Z

I agree with everyone that the graphics are very nice and suit the game well, I think audio would have helped but I'm sure that's just a time thing (there's a hell of a lot to do when you're jamming solo!)

I personally don't get a lot out of clicker games, I feel like there's either nothing to do, or everything is happening at once and is a bit stressful. I think that applies here to some degree, but I'm aware that's partly just my own preferences. The split screen idea is cool, and filling up the hopper and pressing the lever was satisfying

There's No Place Like Home by Remzo 2017-08-12T16:23:11Z

I personally found this a bit too difficult, I wonder if it might have been easier with a gamepad? I think it was just that you couldn't really respond to the asteroids quick enough (it was hard to quickly move the plug). I know that the generator pump was a big part of the game, but I think it could have been fun if the power recharged whenever the plug wasn't connected - so you could run around trying to avoid the asteroids until the power had recharged.

The idea and atmosphere were both very good though, it was sort of mysterious but it also made me smile. The colours you used were really cool. Also the asteroid impacts were amazing, they felt super powerful.

Soul Gun by EX3 2017-08-20T13:59:13Z

I loved VVVVVV, although I also hated it because I'm not actually very good at games  The combining of the gravity change and weapon was cool, and overall game felt good to play. I would have liked better checkpoints though, I ended getting bit frustrated at that one part (same place as @wan). The atmosphere was excellent, I especially liked the rain and the music

LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

The Catnip Sniper by SkullPixel 2017-12-05T17:35:50Z

Feel very solid as usual, and looks/sounds great. A bit too hard for me, but I can forgive that because those cat sprites were just so damn adorable

Cherry Creek by SecondDimension 2017-12-17T18:22:30Z

Hi @jordgubben, we actually ran out of time for a generation algorithm, so all the levels were made by hand and are definitely solvable!

Holiday Parking Panic! by FormalCloud 2017-12-06T20:51:25Z

Enjoyed this a lot, car handling felt good, nice and weighty.

Mr. Great President by spyispie120 2017-12-05T16:50:48Z

Listened to the opening theme tune for ages, looks like you had fun making this. I liked how angry he got at the liberal media channels

Too Many Chooks by Schu 2017-12-14T20:01:18Z

Top marks for theme I think, it really did get a lot more stressful as more chooks appeared. The chicken sound effects added a lot to experience

Fortress Escape by SpaceMonkey 2017-12-05T16:42:56Z

Hey I completed it! I like the idea of building defences that you have to fight back through, nice idea for a tower defence game. I think to really make it work you have offer the player interesting choices, like a tower that kills enemies way faster but is harder for you fight vs a weaker tower that you know you can get past easily later. It would be good to build up the levels too, so they start off a little easier. But nice job on getting a TD game finished

Don't take my coins by JanaChumi 2017-12-10T21:10:26Z

The arrow was a nice touch, helped reduce aimless wandering around. I liked the fact you used one level but put the coins in different places, it meant you had to pick a different route each time and weren't just doing the same thing. I actually also liked that you couldn't just jump to every platform, but maybe it's better to make it obvious you can't reach some platforms, rather than having them just out of reach. I found the up arrow and space bar to work well how there were, but as an advanced feature you can use Key Codes to let player choose their own controls.

LD42 — Running out of space

Ice n Fire by Jiri_One 2018-08-15T19:19:54Z

I like the graphics, they are simple but clean, and set a good desert atmosphere. Also like that you ran of space a lot quicker if you missed, you had to take you time and pick your shots!

Raise the sea by Erkberg 2018-08-15T13:13:17Z

I like that your games have a story or a message, they always portray a good sense of atmosphere even when the graphics are simple. I enjoyed the short game and the sentiment behind, audio was great too!

Reasonable Claustrophobia by SkullPixel 2018-08-15T13:07:39Z

Very nice retro look as always. I think this was a really clever take on the theme, good balancing act between taking out enemies easily and restricting your movement. Great job!

Evercloud by SecondDimension 2018-08-19T19:39:10Z

@Jern You just go back to the shelter to sleep. I did realise after the deadline that this might confuse some people, so sorry :frowning2:

@supernapie You climb up onto the top of the ship and there are three holes to weld (marked with red Xs). That is the last task of that day.

@erkberg Thanks for the nice comments. i haven't played Lone Sails yet, but it does look fantastic. Although this is actually similar to an idea I had years ago, so I was a bit upset when someone else came along and did it really well

Evercloud by SecondDimension 2018-08-19T19:40:50Z

@mister-kweh @ekilibr @egawag @wfmg @smurf @mikomikisomi @zeusx212 Thank you all for the kind comments

Evercloud by SecondDimension 2018-08-19T19:42:49Z

@randomphantom @borys I understand that people might struggle to quickly figure out where to go. To be honest I wanted the game to be a bit vague and encourage you to explore, but that was probably a bad decision in a game jam, as players are trying to rate a lot of games and just won't have the time or patience to wander about. So that's my fault, thanks for playing and enjoying the atmosphere.

Evercloud by SecondDimension 2018-08-19T19:44:38Z

@spyispie120 Thanks for always coming to give the games a go, it is appreciated! Not sure on your bug though, all my testing was on Chrome and I had no issues

I know it was a bit hard to follow as well, see my comment above! Glad you liked the atmosphere though, I'd say that was the main focus of the game anyway.

Evercloud by SecondDimension 2018-08-21T22:55:54Z

Just realised that I accidentally changed the link to an unfinished backup, so some of you were playing a broken version! I guess that will hurt my score, but it's my own fault. Oh well. Thanks for playing anyway, anybody playing from now on will get the proper game!

Deadlock by Geckoo1337 2018-08-21T16:39:41Z

I played this for a long time, I really enjoyed it. Always a fan of these block-sliding puzzles. I liked the retro computer look you gave it as well, which worked well with the subtle sounds. I managed to do 8 of the 10 levels, then it got too hard. I think the enemies moved at random, so it made it hard to come up with a consistent plan.

POLYARNIK by icxon 2018-08-21T21:01:12Z

A wonderful penguin kicking simulator!

Get Comfortable by mcccclean 2018-08-21T21:17:22Z

Not sure I ever quite got the aim or how you got the most comfort, but that actually didn't matter at all. It was really satisfying to play, and it made me smile.

That One Improv Game by wertle 2018-08-21T16:10:02Z

Interesting, I ended up in a room on my own I think, would have liked to try it in multiplayer mode. I really like seeing people using LD to experiment on a particular topic, I'm sometimes a bit too scared of not making a 'good game' to try any really crazy experiments

Gravity Hook by GlacierEclipse 2018-08-17T10:49:06Z

I really liked the idea, although couldn't quite get the hang of the gameplay (probably just me). I could see there were levels designed to slingshot around rocks and so on, but I mostly got through by luck and some really messy maneuvers. It works well though, and you did a lot of level design which can be quite tough during a jam.

Disco Lovers by Hishicorne 2018-08-21T20:36:28Z

I think you could do some more work on this and make it into something really interesting. It needs a lot more in terms of feedback and easier menus, but it's a good starting point. I though the graphics were great and the overall mood of the city at night was beautiful.

Plug And Shoot by Hagge 2018-08-21T19:50:18Z

Super cool game, I made it to day 18 before I had to stop. I got into a real good rhythm though, it worked well with my tactics. I would just plug in the required gun and wait for it to fire 2 shots then immediately unplug it. I didn't really need to fix the plugs at all once I had upgraded the bullet damage and turret speed.

It fits really well with the theme, and was satisfying to use the plugs, so overall great job!

CapyBarbra: A New Brow by Ratherjolly 2018-08-29T20:12:43Z

This was unexpected! Properly weird game, in a good way, great intro.

Train Hustle by Howard Duong 2018-08-19T19:53:58Z

Great scream sound, was satisfying to smack people out. Not sure I fully understood what made me lose though? The background was awesome I thought, graphics were simple but really effective. Games with cross-section vehicles in are the best!

Constellations by pmarincak 2018-08-21T16:19:43Z

Hey I really liked this! My best was score was 1418.52, is that good? It was pretty smooth to control, which helps the experience, and I also like the glockenspiel sounds for the stars (I am a fellow Garageband user!)

I would have really liked a zoomed out view without the need to scroll. That would have given me all the info about the level, and then the fun would have been planning the best approach.

The overall mood was great though, found it quite relaxing to play. Nice work!

Stop Climate Change! by ditzel 2018-08-17T11:09:31Z

I played it 10 times and I lost all 10! I am such a bad penguin. Lots of falling off in agonising slow motion

Deep Heat by gwinnell 2018-08-21T20:02:15Z

Nice game, made me smile. The character is kind of adorable, and graphics overall are nice. I enjoyed the upgrades, and it kept me coming back until I completed it. Good level of polish for a jam game, great work!

Get Comfortable by Chillen 2018-08-15T12:51:49Z

Can't believe I froze to death at 30 degrees! In real life I can't sleep at all much over 25 degrees, and 18 degrees is better. Am I just strange? Anyway really fun use of the theme.

@chillen ahh OK that makes sense!

Pizza Defender by Sloyd 2018-08-18T13:05:58Z

I just saw this in the feed and said "hell yes" out loud. I love the art style and the idea, so perfect for the theme!

CRUMBLE by whycardboard 2018-08-15T18:56:02Z

I liked the Hitchhikers guide reference! Nice colour palette and music, and good fit with the theme. I actually liked that it was turn-based, that pretty worked well. I guess it would have been ice to see how many moves before each tile fell, then it would have really made the player think about where to go and what to prioritise. My best was 59000 I think, pretty bad from me!

Noah's Help! by Ian Kettlewell 2018-08-21T20:57:09Z

So adorable, beautiful visuals! Reminded a bit of Hey Duggee, a show I watch with my daughter. The game itself was also really good, a tried and tested idea but well implemented. I think just a bit of work on polishing and updating the UI and you could release this as fun mobile game.

Gardian by D1gital Cuts 2018-08-17T11:21:30Z

I saw you posting screenshots during the jam and really wanted to try this. The web version didn't work for me, but the download was fine. I loved the graphics, audio and mood, so high marks there! I did really struggle with the actual gameplay though, I tried for a while, but I was just baffled. Would love to try again with a bit of an explanation of the controls and mechanics.

Space Out! by Wattumartti 2018-08-21T20:24:27Z

I loved the flat design look of it, we did a game with a very similar look back in LD38 (we took a lot of inspiration from the Kurzgesagt videos). I liked the drag and drop to create spaceports, very elegant way of expanding. Great job overall, only thing I'd like is a bit more variety/depth to the gameplay, but that's understandable in a game jam setting.

Seize the Clay by SecondDimension 2019-05-01T18:16:01Z

@dark1knight @tg1397 @jjjjason - Thank you all very much, we're really pleased with the mood of it. I agree with that some sounds effects would be good, but I just ran out of time (only just got the music done). Also I know the theme interpretation is loose, but we just really wanted to try this idea out.

@WongKongPhooey @KonH @turbogros - Thanks for the kind words!

@Tuomo - Thanks for your nice comments about the mood! I agree on the pot valuation, it is just straight up broken. I essentially made it check that the exact RGB colour value matched, but that is way too specific and makes it seem kind of random. Although porcelain pots are worth a lot more, so that could have contributed to it

@Akagane - Glad you liked it, I agree about the porcelain designs on the white paper, but we just didn't have time to change it

@Erkberg - Thanks! I did really want to change the paintbrush to show your current colour, but it was one of many things I had to abandon due to the time limit

Inflate Me to the Moon by DDRKirbyISQ 2019-04-30T19:52:34Z

I loved this, it was a perfect game jam entry. Loved the original Mario Kart vibe you had going on with the audio too.

Mr Moneybag by managore 2019-04-30T20:03:00Z

The red enemies were surprisingly scary the first time I encountered them  I liked that their hit points were so clear. I really do like it when games give you all of the info. I would probably like a bit more going on to keep me playing for a longer time, but I really enjoyed playing this for 15mins or so

Orcan Harvest by Mathstr0fficial 2019-05-04T19:00:44Z

I got a high score of 3  I like how I managed to sell my own brain about 4 times before I died. Really strong on the theme, although I agree with others that the text was hard to read.

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Shutin by Ava Skoog 2018-05-15T13:33:21Z

Glad I had time to come try this, it had a great atmosphere! I genuinely found it so stressful though, I starved to death twice because I couldn't bring myself to leave the pizza box out - I had to throw it away as soon as I had eaten. Just collapsed of hunger in a perfectly neat empty house. Where is was most like real life for me was trying to fit stuff in and realising I was going to bed later and later. I think never sleeping and only eating pizza is a terrifying window into what single life would be like for me

Self Golf by SecondDimension 2018-04-23T20:05:28Z

@manimal - I take your point that the character physics don't behave exactly like a ball, but that was by design really. The idea was a golf game mixed with a platformer, so I didn't just want to make a straight golf game (the platforming jump is replaced by the golf shot).

@persijn - I agree about the level designs, they are all very similar, but honestly that was just a time thing. I may work on this more and do levels with different themes and more scenery. Also the reason the character moves was the same point as above - this was meant to be half platformer and half golf, so that's why the character has a little bit of platform movement as well. Also thanks for noticing the hit sound, I spent ages tweaking that!

@Bruce @Harry-Light - I have added a link to the game without the WebGL CRT shader, this should make it run quicker and also work on older browsers. If you're having trouble and you have time, maybe give that a try instead.

@F1Krazy @quixatocs @Jiri-Hysek @Adam-Wallberg - thank you all for the kinds words!

Self Golf by SecondDimension 2018-04-24T20:19:19Z

@Goutye Thanks a lot! Actually strangely my best score is also -21, although from my calculations the best possible score for 18 holes is -31 I think

Self Golf by SecondDimension 2018-04-24T20:21:08Z

@sanjeev @Behenate @Potondo - I agree with you all about the camera, I wanted to have a 'free look' mode, but decided just to focus on having a fully finished game. Definitely something for a post-jam version

Self Golf by SecondDimension 2018-04-24T20:24:22Z

@Dumivid - you're right, I didn't focus too much on tweaking the bounciness and weight of the ball, maybe I just got used to it. Part of it was trying to make it still feel like a platform game as well as a golf game.

Self Golf by SecondDimension 2018-04-24T20:24:41Z

@gonutz @Danby @ppNovAqq @HKoisumi @jshaffer94247 @HeadZerg @ygrichman - thank you all for the compliments!

Self Golf by SecondDimension 2018-05-06T18:49:38Z

@techbox-north @kbjwes77 @pietro-ferrantelli @ema1ih Thanks to all of you for the nice comments!

@samuel-henderson @saintheiser It sounds like you were both experiencing a bug with the movement, I'm not sure why that would be as most players have no trouble. With so many browser, mouse and O/S combinations it's tough to test and troubleshoot rare bugs :frowning2:

@biobazard I did think about that, but it was kind of stupid fun to keep hitting yourself in the air, so I left it in.

@yozamu @kamtar A lot of people have said they'd prefer not to have the side-to-side movement. The problem is that without this, it was mostly just a golf game, instead of a combination of golf and platforming. I think if I do a post compo version I will remove this extra movement.

Self Golf by SecondDimension 2018-05-15T13:08:43Z

@Jonathan-lorenz @Yetman Thanks for playing and for the feedback, glad you enjoyed it. I agree about cancelling your shot and also a mode where you can't walk, both ideas that I want to implement. I also want to add a proper zoom or camera mode so you can check out the level. Higher ceilings are also on my feature list

@Ava-skoog I think -13 is pretty good score, anything under zero is good! I can usually get around -20 or so, but only because I have played it so much during testing. I think the technically perfect achievable score is -32, but I have never managed it. So glad you liked the music and thought it was relaxing, that was the vibe I was going for. Anyway thank you so much for the nice comments, I really appreciate it!

The ragdoll stuff was funny, and maybe the idea of assigning energy in a strategic way could work, although I did find it impossible to get all 5 across and that was a little frustrating. I loved the music and the general concept made me laugh, it was so mad! Is that you saying "Fashion" on the track? It works really well.

I think this works really well, and is a great fit for the theme. The main thing that works is that the maths doesn't get much harder, it seems really simple at the start to solve things like 7/1 and 8*0, but when there are zombies right next to you then you panic and suddenly the same equations are harder to solve. I think that's good design, and I really laughed at how panicked I got the first time time I died!

Ace Golf: Blade Brawlers by elHombreBanana 2018-05-15T10:35:01Z

Haha, what a mad game! The web version actually ran perfect for me, and I managed a narrow 1-0 victory. Probably be great in multiplayer, although I'd prefer it if once you were taking a shot nobody could knock you off the ball, maybe just get in a position to block you? Anyway good job, we all know that golf games are the best

Rap 'N Reel by rilem 2018-05-03T20:15:20Z

Played this on my HTC One and it worked perfectly. Really nice concept, funny execution and perfect fit for the theme.

Get Out Of My Dungeon by biobazard 2018-04-23T22:14:08Z

I think this actually works really well as a concept, it was fun to get the shots right. Would have been nice if the enemies were rounder, so you could judge the shots like proper snooker/billiards.

BREAK // HELL by Incredible Ape 2018-04-24T20:56:42Z

This is so good, great fun and everything feels very professional and polished. It's a cool mechanic too, fits the theme and works really well.

TypeSkater by Behenate 2018-04-23T18:26:52Z

This is a cool concept, I just found it way too hard. It's possible that's because I'm super bad at games, but maybe you suffered from that classic case of playing the game so much over the weekend you forgot how hard it would be for new players?

What would have helped me was maybe not having to push yourself along as well as typing. Another thing would be for the text you need to type to be above the people or obstacles, although I can see why you didn't go in that direction - it would be cool to learn the various tricks and master them. When playing for longer I can see that being really fun to master, but for the rating phase of a jam it feels a little too hardcore.

The pixel art, animation and music are great though, the few tricks I managed felt great to pull off.

Type Away - a fast paced text based endless runner... with zombies by matita 2018-04-23T21:48:56Z

This was simple but effective. Managed to survive 101 seconds before a zombie surprised me from the right and just blindly typed "right" in a panic, and ran into its arms.

Turn-Based Invaders from Space! by HacksawUnit 2018-04-23T20:40:08Z

Nice pixels and overall feel is great as usual. I could get down to maybe 3 ships left but no better than that. The whole idea does work though, could be expanded on and be something pretty cool I think.

Unbelievabubble by maximebugman 2018-04-23T22:03:20Z

This is great, well done! It's a cool combination of mechanics and fits the theme really well, the platform controls and feel of the jumping is very good too. Graphical style is very nice and overall great fun to play.

Perplexive Perspective by quixatocs 2018-04-23T17:56:01Z

Fun idea and really good fit with theme. I found it satisfying to get through most of the levels, although the helix one was too much for me - I don't think the visuals and the controls were quite subtle enough to make that one easy. The audio and mood was nice.

BlipBlapBall by Schu 2018-05-02T18:25:17Z

I like the idea of turn-based football, and I enjoyed this. I don't think there was anything bad for a jam game, but if you wanted to improve it then I think feedback/information is the key. I know for other turn-based games I enjoy (e.g. Invisible Inc), the thing that makes it fun is knowing exactly what can or could happen, so you can plan ahead and weigh up any risk/reward to your actions. I know some games handle this with % chance, although personally I think it's better if there are defined rules. So in the example of a football game: maybe you can pass it through 1 opposition player but not 2, or you can't pass it through an opposition player if they are next to you, that sort of thing.

Furlong Fracas by fazz 2018-05-05T20:42:31Z

Loved this one, played a few times until I won a race. Graphics are nice and I liked the horse running sounds. I think it could do with a little something extra to add to the tactics (like a risk/reward, push your luck type thing), but on the whole this was a really great jam game.

Basketball Wars by Samuel Henderson 2018-04-24T20:30:32Z

I don't mind the graphics, and well done on getting something finished. I think my main criticism was having the random enemies that you couldn't see, felt a bit unfair. But it was a really good take on the theme, and I did manage to score in the end

Bar Fighter - Dating sim + Fighting game by Pixelome 2018-04-24T17:11:31Z

The fighting sequence seemed like just randomly hitting keys was the best way to win, didn't really know what I was doing there, but the chat stuff was really funny. You are definitely getting top marks for theme from me, really weird and wonderful idea!

Super Slime Slasher Ultra by sebastianscaini 2018-05-02T13:34:47Z

Once I read the tutorial properly I understood the theme and the gameplay, both of which were good ideas. The graphics and voice-over etc was all great, nice presentation. THe gameplay itself was pretty cool, has good potential, was just slightly a pain for me as the hitbox on the sword and the slimes seemed a bit off (I had a few combos broken by hitting slimes that weren't that close to my sword). I think overall this is a very good entry though.

Bullet Heck by equa 2018-05-02T13:15:36Z

Well done to the team on this game, I thought it was great! It did feel quite addictive, and I had quite a few turns. I struggled to stop myself from going fast when things were clear, and then the danger snuck up on me. I think a few other people have said that it would be good to see more of the surrounding map, and it felt like the fun part was planning your next few moves to avoid the bullets and the monsters.

Fire Duck Football by Yohoho Games 2 2018-04-23T20:16:31Z

Nice voice work, I did like the giant duck shouting "gooooaal". Haven't played a game with a duck holding an automatic weapon since Dynamite Dux on the master system in 1989!

Cyclevania by Allen Oliver 2018-04-23T20:21:12Z

I struggled with the controls a bit, but everything worked as it should. Fits the theme well I think, and I really liked the music. It felt a bit weird to have a dirt bike in a horror castle, but in a good way, so it created a cool atmosphere.

Beat Boxer by jaredmercer 2018-04-24T20:10:25Z

Like others have said the music was a bit repetitive, definitely something to work on. The idea was cool though and fits the theme really well. I also like the graphics - I wish the arrows had been more central as I spent most of the time looking at them instead of the nice characters you designed!

Ah! Runaway! by Reign 2018-04-24T20:52:29Z

It all looks quite neat, and fits the theme well. It was pretty hard though, I really struggled to keep up!

Tiny Crusader by nilstastic 2018-04-23T18:37:36Z

Nice idea, even though it's loosely based on lemmings it feels quite original. I would have liked a quick pause button, or a little time at the start of the level to plan, but other than that I really enjoyed it.

Soccer Stacker by TechBox North 2018-04-23T22:18:50Z

This is so hard! Is it possible to get more than 3?

Shady Cards by Yozamu 2018-05-02T13:07:10Z

There's a lot going on here! As others have said, the platforming is a little too fast to control, but other than that it worked well. The addition of poker was cool, and I like it how the best hand isn't always the right choice. I think that is a clever mechanic, although the countdown timer and things happening so fast means it didn't stand out as much as it should. The graphics and overall presentation was very good, well done!

Six Shooter: Cowboy vs Aliens by Danby 2018-04-23T18:07:43Z

I was not great at this game, I only managed 960, but it was still really fun. I found it very satisfying to line up a shot at an angle that meant I could get my bullets back. The sprites were nice too, helped create a good mood along with that acoustic guitar music. Overall I really liked it!

One note though - did you know that the compo is for entries by a single person only? You should really enter this as a jam submission if you did it as a team. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/rules

Six Shooter: Cowboy vs Aliens by Danby 2018-04-23T20:42:43Z

That's cool, hope I didn't come across badly for mentioning it, but it's good to be in the right category and plus you get all the extra time! I usually do that jam with a couple of friends, but had to go solo in the compo this time. Kind of wish I had the extra day to make more than 2 kinds of scenery

Mojojo by ZakAmana 2018-04-23T20:31:49Z

This was so damn adorable, I loved it! I played through to the end and had a great time, made me smile all the way through. The music was great, and it made me play the game really fast for some reason, just got caught up in the rhythm of it I guess. Great take on theme. The character's walk cycle was cute too, made me laugh. Not sure what else to say, an almost perfect jam game so 5 stars from me.

Late for Love by Gaze Team 2018-05-06T21:27:01Z

Very nice! Similar idea to a game I played on the PS4 called Three Fourths Home (which I really liked). Graphics here are nice, and the movement of the car was super satisfying. I guess the narrative felt a little rushed, but that was understandable for a jam game, other than that the dialogue was very natural and that's quite hard to do I think.
