The Lion's Song by LeafThief 2014-08-28T16:41:00
This game's music, story and graphics create a really nice atmosphere. The only problem is the length of it and that's all.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → Users → commodoreKid

This game's music, story and graphics create a really nice atmosphere. The only problem is the length of it and that's all.
I cannot really open the game. It says 'Sorry, could not initialize webGL'
The game is really good. Nicely polished. And graphics are very sweet, I liked 20-sided dice monster especially :D The only thing is that it is very repetitive. If you would add more of a story or different content like that, it would be awesome. Good luck!
This would be a classic if it was released in 80s. Right now I don't know how it would do in today's market but the idea and realization is so good. I imagined a multiplayer mode where players act in real time, not by turn :)
Wow this is quite impressive. Single player option is awesome to have. Everything looks and functions properly. I think there was a little bit of lag on my browser though.
Good idea. When you select or connect, a little response from the game (like sound or animation) would be nice. However I liked innovative approach.
It was an interesting experiment to be the person behind the calls. I think graphics and sound could be better to support the good mechanic. You may consider adding a drag and drop rather than click and click again. Also I couldn't get that pegs were in couples at the beginning. They could be in different colors.
That was really a lot of fun with its dynamic looks but graphics, music and sound effects need to be worked on further. Boss battles could vary. Buying continues is a good idea.
This is the most innovative entry I've seen in Ludum Dare 30. I didn't care much about the graphics or sound after seeing the idea. I think even more games could be added. It's awesome.
I should accept that it was quite fun to play this entry. I liked how challenging evil cows are(!) and that it is clear to the player where the game goes. Wish it was longer. Graphics and music need more effort. That's pretty all.
Graphics look really cool but I feel like I don't have much control and I win or lose randomly. Because I was eating all the time but not winning in the end.. There is not much of a strategy, or is there? It's pretty confusing but good looking game I'd say.
I would love to be able to rotate the map by holding down the middle mouse button. Other than that, it was quite short. However graphics and the mechanic were superb.
In my opinion it's too short and doesn't cover much. Even though they get stuck sometimes and you can use it as an advantage, enemy AI is quite cool. There could be a music in the background. Still, I liked it :)
A decent game. I like the controls. Also the planets look great. You could put some limit on the zoom, as I could see almost everything happening around me by zooming out really far. Some more action, like powerups, fuel, other dangers (stars, black holes, asteroids) would be cool :) good job in overall.
I'm having the same problem.
This game is really good mate. Wish you had more time to complete it but it's not a problem at all. It might be my favorite compo entry till now.
Nice concept and quite good execution. One of the most polished 48h I've played so far. Nicely done!
Masterfully constructed levels. I was surprised how much this forced me to play with higher and higher precision and more and more focus. Really loved that entry. Great job!
I enjoyed it even though there is not much of a challenge :)
I got tired of clicking after a point tbh.
- Satellite building percentage goes over 100%
Sounds are disturbing, especially that alarm. Gameplay is good but everything needs polishing.
I'm not a fan of this kind of casual games, I like to get into the game with a lot of user interaction and story (it's obvious from our entry I guess) but I think for a casual game it's really clean, simple and it works. I can see this as a mobile game, if you haven't done it yet you can consider doing.
Cool physics and story but really hard to understand how it really works.
Very good mechanic, if graphics would be polished it could make a really good game.
This mechanic is really good that I'm so sad it wasn't realized well. Graphics need to be redone. The game lags a lot. Sound and music would also help. I think this could be something bigger than this. I guess time limit didn't allow. Would like to play a post-compo version.
It looks more like a design tool than a game. However could be turned to a game since building mechanic is ready. I liked how you can see what other players did before.
As I told you before, there are a lot of little fixes you need here and there, visually and technically. I liked how the graphics and music changes when you swap the worlds.
Have fun playing mate :)
Nice game. Very challenging. Very good graphics and theme usage. Good job with this one.
I think the idea is so innovative and could be expanded. Pity that it's short. Hope you plan to go for a full release version.
The idea is very innovative. I could reach 18 at my first attempt, I guess it's not that good :)
Thanks for your comment and stream earlier :) I took notes while I play so here they are:
- There is no need to make loading bar 3D if it fills up in 3D :)
- I liked the story at the beginning, nicely written.
- Not very necessary but you could put a little shadow under creatures.
- I loved the gameplay and boss mechanics together with the graphics. They need more work but they have a style.
- The game is quite short for 72 hours in my opinion.
This reminded me of Titan Sould a little :) Very good entry!
Really liked the game. It was very similar to what we've made, as you've mentioned on your stream. Good job with this one! It would be nice to see some goal that I could pursue. Also. This is veery easy to understand. I had no problem whatsoever to know what to do! Great job.
I couldn't really find the game hidden there. I'm adding atoms and I pass the level. It looks kind of interesting though. Ah and music is so repetitive.
I played the game just now. It's alright but except the concept not very attractive to play. Here is my feedback.
- The text at the beginning is not that readable.
- The floor image has a seam.
- Game fits the theme but trying to find the right option out of many is not much of a game in my opinion.
- Idea of trying to satisfy different representatives is great.
- Graphics and humor is not bad.
Cute little game with a few bugs.
I think this is the base of a great game incoming. I like micromanagement a lot already so I would love to see this become something bigger than this. With more upgrades and interaction. Graphics are not my style but they fit each other.
Cool little game :) enjoyed it.
I've managed to finish the game and wished it was more rage-free :) I think you spent a lot of time for graphics, that's visible. However graphics should be only a part of the job, not the whole thing. Hope next time you will spend more time on game play and level design to make it more fun to play. (It was still fun for me though, I like raging :P)
Character movement is really slow and quality of graphics could be enhanced. Other than that, it's a quite innovative game.
Great idea and really smooth gameplay. Graphics and sound compliment each other. Good entry I'd say.
I wrote this on my list of innovative games because the mechanic is really original (at least I haven't seen it before) You can polish the graphics and sound, you have the skills for level design. Release it and it will sell a lot :)
The ghost mechanic is not that original since there are a few titles used it before but not in this kind of game so it counts as original. I used my ghost mages as an army of destruction :D Very good game with everything complete imo.
Graphics are awesome. Music is great. However it's really short even for a Compo entry. I think time was a factor here. Hope you plan to make it to a longer game with the same atmosphere.
I think you already know that this is not a game but an experimental interactive something. It's awesome to listen though. Record sounds very natural.
There are some bugs like planets spawning next to you all of a sudden or the arm (that looks like tongue) gets stuck at somewhere but gravity centers work very well. It looks like our game's arcade version :)
I liked the AI voice and that player is free to choose when he is able to.
Would be really nice to have a tutorial or information in the game about Shaman and Blacksmith. I didn't know what they are for. Also the barrel and the torch. Graphics are really nice and I would like to see this becoming a full game with lots and lots of building types, viking roles and so on.
I enjoyed the game for a while but then it got very repetitive after 3rd planet. Graphics are kind of disturbing. Still a complete little game. Good luck :)
I could get through the restaurant after my 86395592457th try and it wasn't that hard y'know :P I think difficulty is a problem and controls are another. Because I discovered later that you go top-left direction when you push up (I guess it was like that) I would expect to go up when I push up tbh. Good humor and fine graphics.
I really liked the style of graphics, music and sound effects. It has obviously a retro feel to it. I think you could give the controls to player in some other way instead of a sliding text. I couldn't get shooting work or couldn't find the weapon, I don't know. However passing items through portals are really cool and it fits the theme. Good luck!
It's really hard to actually succeed at this but it's quite fun. Wish you would write what are the controls for, like in a word or two, next to them. Good entry.
I couldn't try it on my tablet but according to what I've seen on Web Player, this seems like a great use of theme and innovation. I have seen this idea before but it didn't look this nice with graphics and concept. Very well done.
I think you can find a story which does not set the aim but affects the game in a way. There can be many features added to the game. Try to be creative. I liked this basic version. You also don't have to go 3D if you don't really use it :)
Probably players said 'too many controls' seeing above list but actually there is 'too little' in my opinion. I loved animations, how the game looks like and the atmosphere more than anything. I could play a longer game like this without more action than this and with a storyline without getting bored at all. Awesome job. Gratz.
That's a really good idea of moving portals around there. Like playing portal without a portal gun.
It's a really fast and fun but repetitive game. Might be a good mobile game if you would like to release.
This visually looks really nice. I didn't like how you cannot see what's coming on your way and which direction it is coming from in Single Player. Music is cool. Also sometimes the arm of character turns upside down. I think this could be a better game with more features, same graphic style and some changes on gameplay.
I guess you also noticed that clicking is not the best option for this :) Graphics are awesome, sounds fit very well but mechanic needs some more salt&pepper to be called fun. Very clean entry, a few tiny bugs and that's all :)
Nice little game. The sudden death bug really exist though and I couldn't figure out how to win when both sides have same color of obstacle. Oh also music is good.
Nice mechanic and would make a great mobile/flash game in my opinion :)
The distance to the planet does not update and there is not much to do in the game. However I liked the warp animation and how similar it is to our game :D
Sounds and graphics are tiring, but nice idea.
Interesting idea with walking on a planet but I felt like spending most of my time walking to reach plants or snails. Also couldn't get the point of second level really. I think this might be something if there were more variation to what player can do. Cute little game, liked it.
The idea of saving people through a portal is great. Mechanic is also great. However the game lacks other stuff like atmosphere, music and graphics. It's also quite short. Has potential, you just have to work on it further. I liked that planets are randomly colored.
Nice little game but it makes you rage when you fail close to the end. Also recommend you to show controls on the intro screen and to start player a little lower so you don't die immediately.
As you wrote above, there is not much content right now but the idea is really good :) I wished to have more control. Good luck if you want to develop it further.
You have to work hard on your skills. Still a good attempt though. Good luck.
Fantastic entry!
It's a really nice mechanic! At last level I lost my ability, I guess that's a bug and I wish character was a little faster in move.
It's a great idea however the character's attack range is not working at all. I guess he is actually faster than enemy at attacking so if you run towards them and attack, you succeed. But this doesn't make much sense if you don't support it with graphics. I think graphics could use a little polish but other than that I kinda liked it.
The only thing questionable would be the Theme category here which is interpreted in a way or other. It goes into my Awesome Entries list even though I'm not a fan of puzzle games. I loved graphics and music :)
That game is just soo awesome! I love force/time games like that. Great job.
It is a very original idea to make players write the story by themselves. If it was a game played by hundreds or thousands of players, would be really interesting with that many storylines. Very innovative entry.
I was almost judging this game too early. After the action started with pig people, I liked it more. Wish the gravity and colliders would work normally as they should but probably time limit didn't allow you. The game is really innovative and fits the theme very well.
Very good idea. I would like to see more levels but less is more in jam situations. Luck with further developing :)
Graphics of the game and the story are really good. It also gives a feeling of helplessness. I liked it very much. A lot of work in 3 days :)
A few things:
- My health went on dropping down even though I ate and drank so I eventually died. I guess it's a bug.
- There is no collider on portal at the beginning.
Wish the result would depend on player actions, I guess it's not. Was a good piece of story anyway. Well done :)
It seems like it has a lot of placeholders but I think that's because of 48 hours time limit. Plus, it is hard because turret shoots at the position of asteroid where it was a few seconds ago. I could only buy the turret and couldn't survive longer. Idea is kind of cool though.
I found the enemies that fall down on you rather annoying, it sometimes makes you lose hp randomly. There are some spots that you cannot pick coins up. Also some strange rectangle appearing and fading slowly when you die. Attack animation is quite short comparing to the attack range.
Except these things, I enjoyed the game a lot. The story is nice, its visuals in intro could be better. Music in the bg is creepy as it should be.
I understood what you tried to do and how it would work but everything was unclear. I didn't get which color I changed the world into and where would be the platforms. The idea is also not very original anymore. I think you should consider dimming the shiny graphics too.
While the music in the background and physics are quite interesing, I didn't get the aim in this game if there is one :D Very interesting (kinda weird) entry.
Pretty little plane game with the connected worlds theme. I wish it had more innovation into it though.
There could be more to the gameplay and music pauses between the worlds but visually the game looks amazing. Music is also complimentary.
Graphics would be really cool but colors disturb the eye. Also hitting does not feel like hitting. I couldn't try split screen multi-player option but it's a great idea assuming it works well. I like defense games generally but I couldn't feel this one much, you have to work more on it.
We will probably update the game in following days and look into the issues you mentioned. Thank you all for your positive comments :)
Thanks for all kind comments. Right now, the game is (we hope) without any bugs. We cannot really add new content according to LD rules BUT we are planning to develop this to the end and publish a full version. It will have all those stuff listed above and maybe even more.
We are happy to see some of you really got into the game and liked it.
For future updates, you can follow my Twitter account, it will be the most convenient way I guess.
https://twitter.com/commodore_Kid
Thanks a lot.
Hm, it actually does close the menu.. Can you try again?
Actually speed in relation to stars changes but it's not very noticeable, we got that a lot. We are going to implement some kind of indicator in the game later that will make player feel his/her speed. Thank you for all your comments, they are really valuable since we plan to develop the game further.
We heard yellow arrow-objective assumption a few times now. A tutorial phase at the beginning of the game will solve this we hope.
Also I think you moved your resources to the station, not sold them to the market or you were low on fuel and all the money you earned went to refueling the ship.
There is a lot confusion right now. We tried to implement many features as possible and couldn't think much about the user experience. Sorry about that :)
Right now working on a release version btw.
Happy to see that you liked it :)
I know it is hard to get a grab of everything. We got a lot of feedback so we can try to develop those missing points now.
Almost all of what you wrote as what should be added to the game is already in our list above in the description and we are trying to add those features nowadays after the jam.
P.S. The money is just for having upgrades in this version.
Thanks!
@Literal Games: It refuels when you dock in the station but only if you have enough money :)
@Lvyn: The speed never dies out like floating in real space unless you put a force in the opposite direction. We really like the feel of this kind of control. However adding a dampener upgrade for the release version that can be toggled to act like an artificial friction but it will be only used in combat since it will give a control advantage but will consume lot more fuel than normal.
Thanks for the comments :)
@spotco: Thanks :) We really feel that player should get used to and get good at controls over time, there is nothing inconsistent with them. We just have to underline the current speed and add a tutorial phase to the game so player doesn't die unknowingly.
@MechanicMoon, @Oxeren: Thank you!
@Nanolotl: Yes they are hard to get used to at the beginning :)
@liquidminduk: Thank you :) We try to keep that feel in the version we develop right now.
@sephyka: Thanks! We will definitely add a tutorial phase to the game.
@Dietrich Epp: Thank you. I don't think this way of gameplay is aimed to please everyone.
@Crocanti de Pollo: Glad you liked :) Watching fuel is one of the key points in this game since there are no gas stations to buy fuel in space. At least not many as in our world :D
@mechabit: Thanks for trying out. I got the same exact situation and it got me thinking about a rescue beacon too :)
@MerlijnVH: Thank you :) We are currently working on it, even though the game will be quite hardcore, trying to make everything user-friendly so nothing happens out of your knowledge.
@Sheepolution: Thanks for trying out. As I told on stream chat, we will add a tutorial to the game but we want to keep the ship controlling mechanic as it is. It will require a little bit of player skill. Other than that we will have a dampener upgrade which applies a little force in the opposite direction like there is friction. Still, it will be for combat situations mostly because it will consume more fuel than normal. The game is kind of hardcore and requires player to spend more time on.
@Franklins Ghost: Great! We aimed to do that with controls so you get used to in time. If you would like to play more, we are developing a release version with a lot of extra features. You can follow here http://spacedelver.wordpress.com
@Cake&Code: Thanks :) We don't want to tweak the controls but we want to make it easier for player to understand how it works. Plus a dampener upgrade to your ship whenever you want to open an artificial friction force.
@ajopart: Thanks!
@cstudios: We are thinking about all those bits while developing right now. There is a stock market logic in it, when there is more demand, the resource sells cheaper. Thank you very much for playing and kind comments :)
I couldn't find a mistake other than world changes location a little bit when you change direction. I think there can be more challenge in this game other than collecting planets without touching red ones. Graphics are really cool though :)
Nice story but that's quite all. Would love more interactivity in this kind of game.
I liked your literal approach to the bridge between planets to create connection for people to travel on. It is a nice idea, you just need to realize it better. You may add some animation or change the sounds. Also don't forget to add an information tab to tell player how much he needs to upgrade the bridge.
It is a quite poor game but still enjoyable. Sound effects and music are not the best :/
I actually liked it since it's a simple platformer with acceptable graphics. Here is some feedback;
- Jumping sound is quite annoying and the music is not the best.
- You can jump also when you touch the bottom of tiles.
- After landing the walking animation does not kick in.
Well, I'm having hard time having an opinion on a game that is quite similar to what I was seeing thousand times. I'm sorry about that but it's true. Character also doesn't face left at all. It is the same thing over and over again, I don't know what to say about it. Graphics are not that fancy, idea is not original.. I'm sorry but I would brainstorm more on the game idea if I were you.
Better than I expected. I died a lot though :D
This is awesomely COMPLETE game which made it top on my list until I find a better game among entries.
Good idea but I raged a little when the mechanics didn't work. Especially at the start even though I change the color, I couldn't dodge the rectangle. And sometimes obstacles collide. Still a good idea though.
I can see this original mechanic being a game but glitchy look should be fixed and a proper interface should be added in my opinion. Also a reachable aim for the player would be nice.
I like the concept. However, I find it impossible to reach the goal. The best I managed was 10000. Either I am doing something wrong or this is truly unbeatable. Mostly because there doesn't seem to be any exchange going HOME->Connected planets. Just HOME <- connected planets. So all the planets that I connect, die after a while the same as all the others, leaving me alone in the system :(
Very good theme use :) Has potential, but lacks execution.
Absolutely awesome! I felt like some hell's messanger :P great idea. Wish there was some audio to this.
Good and simple idea. However I had difficulty clicking on planets and the game lagged a little on my browser.
I cannot play it since it is blocked by security settings. I couldn't get it back :/
I am not a fan of visual novel style of sim games but still a nice effort of reflecting a psychological issue. I think you could work more on visuals and narratives.
Nice game. I liked the way you executed the multiplayer part. Can be quite addictive indeed. Wish there was some music in the background.
Too repetitive and not challenging. It gets boring short after it starts. Nice idea maybe but not a good realization. Would make a good casual mobile game probably.
Really cool game! I wish the controls were a little bit clearer as it is a bit unintuitive to send / cancel sending units. Other than that, very nice entry!
It is really good with the story, music and graphics but it is too short in my opinion.
Really nice idea for a puzzle game. I would publish this on mobile if I were you.
Except the story and character, the game is almost like super meat boy as you stated above. I couldn't jump left when I was sliding on the right side, I had to jump first and then go left. This was really annoying to be honest. However length of the game is impressive for a compo game. Wish it would be more innovative. Oh also the music has a gap between loops.
repetitive mechanics and a little poor for a jam entry.
Really good game with its length and challenging mechanic but not very original idea with color change. I enjoyed a lot playing :)
Controls are q little confusing but graphics are great. I couldn't get pass the first evil spirit attack and didn't want to wait for intro for a third time.
Really really good entry. Short, challenging and complete. I liked how responsive controls and how nice graphics are. Innovation part was a bit missing but still.
I think only thing that could be better is AI which you probably couldn't do better. Very good entry. I played it quite long, cause it deserves! :)
The idea is great but I think it could be realized much better. Feedback is missing and I didn't even know what I do to win actually. Style is nice though.
I liked the idea very much. It just wasn't that nice to respawn and go all the way through again and again without actually seeing other players. It can be turned into something better quite easily though.
This game is really good! I don't know what to say, you deserve some reward :) It would be awesome if it was multiplayer and fallen players could be saved :)
Very good and fun to play mechanics :)
Except the fact that it's short, everything was brilliant. I loved the mechanic. I would like to see a complete game out of this.
Great humor. Quite fun to play. Controls are very sluggish and not responsive but it didn't stop me playing it till the end. Awesome ending by the way :)
It's very nice to play. Not very innovative maybe but a clean entry :) Had fun playing :)
Very good idea. If this was a full game with online battles, I would like to try that. It's kind of a yugioh combined with genetics.
I like the fact that you can use anything as a weapon. Good for the first LD entry :)
Very good idea but rest of the game is not enough to support it. It also fits very well to the theme.
It's a very fun game. I'd play if there were 20 or 30 levels instead of 12.
Was fun for a short while. Nice take on unconventional weapon. Wish there was more content so the fun could last longer :)
That's a lot of content for a jam game, good job :) I like to skip tutorials so it would be nice to be able to but I think it's better than not having it. Hard game, good game, good luck!
Simple graphics, simple mechanic and fun. It's kinda like flappy bird when you think about it but better :D
(By the way you can try our game again, we fixed it and it's up :))
It's quite dark. Sound effects and graphics could be better for these simple mechanics. Anyway funny with the weapons, especially the bunnies. The best was the sound effect for bunny weapon :)
Great mechanics. Quite hard to get used to. Wish it was longer :)
Removing moles is fun but doesn't last too long. Music could be better.
Very good idea for the theme and an innovative mechanic. I liked it :)
Could be much better if it was longer and the graphics were better designed.
I think the game is broken but I might've done something wrong. There is someone coming and taking the treasure away. Is there a way to stop him? Tell me if there is, I'd like to try again.
Very good interpretation of the theme! Sad that you've to have gamepads to play with your friend.
It's a very fun to play game. I wish it was getting harder by time and I guess that's the only thing. Good job! :)
It's a good mechanic but too damn hard :D I would have to play quite long to get used to the combinations. You can get over this by making it only primary colors at the beginning and gradually increasing the difficulty.
Nice idea with the parasol mechanics :) We couldn't get how you die. It seemed kinda random.
It is a very unconventional weapon indeed :D Good for the first JS game. Luck with future games!
We tried to play but every time I press enter to start the game it reads it as a character.
Nice art but there is nothing much to it, like my game.
Very good mechanic and cute little game. The only annoyances were the repetition of sounds and how long it takes to replay.
Yay, finished! Nice mechanic, not my type of game but great. Clean entry.
"You are free to leave this game." :D
That dialogue system is awesome. Thank you so much.
The game would be okay if attacking and hitting were more fast and responsive. It was also very hard to hit enemies because of the fact that you have to face them. I speed ran after a while. Good ending and nice graphics though :)
First time I played I tried to turn everyone into vampires but then I speedran it, it was quite easy :) But fun game, I think it has a future if you make series of levels.
I thought something would happen once I collected all the coins but no... *sniff* :P It was a good looking game. I don't like voxels much so I"m not the person to say anything about the future of this kind of game. Music is nice. As you also probably know there is this mouse sensitivity issue. Wish the story was more implemented to the game.
I wish there was an information on the police that they cannot be killed. Overall it seems nice. The beginning is too long but the rest is alright. Also sometimes I couldn't get what some visuals stood for.
Everything is perfect for a jam game. I don't know what to say. It's unforgiving but not too much. Sounds work very well. I'd like to play the multiplayer mode later :)
It would be much better if you could summon enemies closer and make difficulty go higher over time. It's a very good idea but not a good execution as you also mention in the description. You could keep working on this, I'm not sure about voxels though.
Good start for a real-time strategy but there is a long way to go. I ended up killing my own soldiers and I guess there wasn't anywhere to capture was there?
It could be done visually better but the idea is nice. I think I've seen a few other takes on the same idea. Would make a good mobile game.
I played it till I can win finally :) It's really funny and smart. There was another game like this in Connected Worlds LD.
It crashes for me. Gives an error about some router connection etc.
Well done mate, you did a very good job. Everything works together, I'm sure you're going to win some medals :)
I think some more visual details in levels would make it more interesting but I know it's a jam game. Mechanic is very hotline miami like. Unforgiving. I like the splatters the most. It felt good slaying those scientists somehow :) It's funny how a head drops in front of one and he just doesn't care :D
Wow it was very addicting. Controls and movement of the character plus animations feel so right together. Music is the only thing bothering me, it seems like looping a lot. Other than that good job!
Very awkward game. I liked the feels of it but to be honest it's too short and mechanic is not that interesting.
It has a really nice mood as expected from you :) It was short and that was the only negative thing I guess. I know you didn't like the theme but you still did great!
It's a good idea to split controllers, I was challenged by it. But it becomes boring quite quickly. Maybe there could be stages and different enemy types to it.
As you have mentioned in the description there are many animation and collider bugs but still nice try. I liked the monster design. Cape is going crazy after a while though :)
At the beginning it was really funny, I liked how they talk but then it started to repeat and it takes long to get to the end. It would be nice to have an option to skip dialogues but then it would be really short I guess.
I think it wasn't a good decision to drop out the audio cause it doesn't give the effect otherwise it could. It's an interesting idea and visual style though.
3320 is my best, cannot spend more time on it sorry. Controls response very well, graphics are alright. Sound effects are very repetitive but overall it's a nice little game. You should put it on appstore or something.
It felt nice when enemies got plenty in number. However I couldn't use any other weapons than laser if there are any. Healing could be cool improvement.
I think you had a really good idea but realization is not that good. It becomes repetitive too quickly. There could be more stuff happening like different enemy types or some other dangers.
I knew someone would make a game on monster trucks hahaha :D I think the game is fun but just for a minute. You should develop your workflow and make it better next time. Very good for first time.
8829. I was afraid that I will break my keyboard. It's a very simple idea. Yes. It's very simple. It's too simple for 3 days.
I kept sending kaijus with different combinations I could make with 3 points and destroyed cities. I don't really know if there was more to the game than this but I couldn't manage to find if there was. It also lacks feedback, I feel like it's pure luck which side wins.
It's very fun to play this. Very hard to be a wolf :P I imagined a version with real players and the one with most points win :)
Visual style is amazing, it fits very well to the game. It becomes a little bit repetitive and feedback is not that readable but still, awesome entry. Dat mood. I had a revolt by the way :)
Controls were a little buggy, sometimes they worked and sometimes not. I got the idea and it's pretty neat, only the execution is not that spectacular. You could make free movement and a visible effect for interactions.
I liked everything except the length of the game. A classic platformer, not much to tell.
I couldn't play your game too because of some resolution issue. Some part of the game I could never see or reach.
By the way you told me that Play button doesn't work for you, can you somehow set the resolution to 1920x1080 and try again? The problem might be the same as I had with yours. Are you using Linux or Mac? Because I haven't tested the game on those operating systems.
I don't know what's going on but you could try to run it on different resolutions or with windowed mode etc.
Wow it's a great idea. I can imagine a full game like this without the grid in 3D. I couldn't manage to win (got to 4 only) but still.. nice!
Haha it's a funny game. It could be improved visually but other than that it's a platformer, hard to say anything.
Lemmings! Minions look like plankton from Spongebob. Very clean work with graphics and gameplay. Annoying thing is that 'daddy sound' playing 10 times at the end of every level :D
I liked AI but the game was so repetitive. There could be more to it than just slapping campers.
My only concern is graphics and animations, the game has a very simple mechanic and it is to destroy everything so animations and graphics combined would help make it feel better. I felt more like I'm a monster destroying false gods' temples btw :D
Controls felt better when I was not a demon so I end up not transforming at all :D Graphics are good but hitting doesn't feel like hitting because of animation delay. Since it's an arcade kind of game it is quite important.
I don't know what to say :D It's a great idea and execution is flawless. Just not my type of game but still :)
Music&Sound are really nice. Very clean entry. Art is beautiful. It becomes boring after second turn but still.. Good job!
Neat idea! I loved the original game when I was a child. Now it seems very difficult to beat the knight haha :D
I liked how you set up the mood but not a fan of graphics. The game keeps you on the edge which is cool. Also would be nice if we could skip the intro dialog faster. I wouldn't spend more time on this, you can do better by redeveloping and redesigning it with more player interaction.
I'm not a fan of puzzle games so I quit it on 5th level but I won't criticize it with my personal choices because the game looks beautiful. I like the fact that I could undo anytime and how the flowers blossomed when I win. Puzzle mechanics are in place I guess. You nailed it I'd say. Why not a mobile game from this?
I got stuck on the level with 4 horizontal lasers and a little space that you cannot fit. Am I missing something?
I think it's a very good entry. You have everything in place and working. Good job.
Very good graphics. I think gameplay is a little repetitive. Controls get a little boring after a while. I wished I had a normal controls over this character. But I know it was for 2-buttons. Good job.
I liked the animations and flowing movement of moths. Also visuals style and randomized levels(I guess they are). However the game is so short and mechanic is simple and repetitive. I wish there was more to it but I guess it's quite good for 48 hours.
Another last-level loser here.
I think it's really fun and simple. Maybe you could get rid of horn mechanic and add a left turn instead. But I know, no time. Great job. Only thing changed could be colors and graphical style but not necessary.
I usually don't like these kind of games because they lack variety of interactions but it seems like you nailed it. I also like the topic you chose. I would still work on graphics but everything else is cool, keep up the good work!
It's a great entry, graphics are great, everything works properly, sound and music are great. I just think it was a little too easy and the ending could be better. I guess even with two studios 3 days is not enough time to put everything in. Thanks for creating this beauty.
Good take on theme. I got 2245 on fourth try. It's very confusing at first with controls but then you get used to. I liked the game very much but only one thing, it would be much better if it was more random than this. Then you could just pack it up and publish on mobile. I would go for it. Good job!
I went up to 852 then it got boring, sorry :) As others said it could be a mobile game easily and I think it could become popular. You should consider that. I'm not a fan of infinite gameplay like this but it works. Graphics are perfect in their own way. Good job.
This is the best game I've played till now. This is type of game I was waking up early before school to play for five minutes on my commodore 64. I loved it. I also liked how there is no infinite gameplay, I hate that. Controls are not so hard and not so easy at the same time. I think you should vary levels and bosses and definitely go for post-jam. Keep up the good work.
It looks great but there is a lot missing like inventory, leveling up and other various stuff. I still think you did great job though. I'd continue if I were you but try to come up with an original story or mechanic that will make your game unique, not like all others.
I'm not a fan of voxel-like graphics and it was too hard for me (got a bottle of milk though!) however I like the idea for the controls. It feels like this old game where you were trying to land on a pod with spacecraft. You may consider using a color palette next time, it would look much better.
It's quite repetitive. I guess you decided to have the images low quality this way, well it works. The core game is there. I also like the concept. I wish you could add more to that core.
I like the music the best I think, it fits the mood of the game very well. Graphics are good but could be better. Very repetitive even for a runner game. I also like the dash mechanic.
After I talked to the fisher boy, the game just stopped and I couldn't find a way to continue, not sure if this is a bug. Graphics and sound needs to improve a lot. It's not particularly fun also, you just choose dialog options. I think you should add more interaction if you want to make an adventure game. There are also grammar mistakes in English version.
It is confusing at the start even though I've red everything you wrote. I like the idea of controlling a craft from inside but the game is quite boring in the end to be honest. The best thing is visuals. I like how every tree has a unique structure. Keep up the good work :)
I was excited when the game told me to think outside the box because I like that kind of puzzles but it was not what I expected. I think mechanics are great, it could be developed to a more advanced system with more puzzles. I guess you already know graphics need work. Oh, and sound was soothing, good job with that.
Thanks for playing our game, camera could be rotated by right mouse button and dragged or zoomed in by middle mouse button.
I thought you meant dragging the camera because you can do that by holding down the middle mouse button as I said in my previous comment. Otherwise you cannot change the angle of the camera. I think it's okay because of orthographic view.
I think it's obvious to say graphics are awesome. We know your games now, it's kind of expected. To be honest Fathom was much more than this even though it was also short. I think fun is missing a little bit. Still kind of an original idea with the mechanic. Pity you struggled with code and time. Expecting better next time! :)
I liked how you took time to create many levels. I think this could be improved graphically because mechanics work. Maybe sounds and music also requires rework. Other than these, fun game, good work :)
I thought not being able to build farms was a missing feature but now I see what you did there. This kind of game has a lot of potential. I think this could be a more developed game if you gave more options to the player. You kind of force the game to go only on one way. That kinda kills the fun. However as I said, you can build up on this. Keep up the good work.
I liked the gameplay quite a bit. Initial levels were awesome, however with the drop of speed the game became a bit too slow for me (I didn't pass that big world - I guess it was the last chapter). Overall a very well polished, nicely presented and self explaining game. Tablet version ftw :) Good job!
As I know your previous entries, this one was a little bit of a downer. I think it was because neither gameplay nor story was great and I really wonder how you came up with this strange idea :D I like the art and sound though, I cannot say anything about them. There were a few bugs like a small glitch one the right side when I was raising up the first tower. Also every time I skip a dialog, tower lights were resetting. You increased our expectations so it will be really hard to top that now :)
Great game. Graphics and audio could be improved but I loved the mechanics you used. It reminds me of old days :)
I think my only concern with this game is the user interface. It could be done nicer. Other than that, great use of assets to create the environment. Reminded me of Stanley Parable, I'm pretty sure you were inspired by it. I had a very little performance problem but that wasn't much of a big deal. Great work.
I think this would make a nice mobile game. It seems innovative in the way you represent it but this is a very old mechanic working on mostly reflexes. Reminds me of those machines with prizes inside and you've to stop the quare at the right spot. It was slow sometimes, not sure if because of Firefox and it did take input before the right position. All in all, addicting gameplay.
I could get gold in first and silver in others on the first run and felt pretty proud :P I think the mechanic is really challenging and fun but graphics could be much better. I liked how music worked, though I cannot say I liked the type of music you used. Still great job, keep it up!
I didn't have a friend with me to play this with but you did good job with only 2 buttons I'd say. I think it would be a little better if you could move character a little back when he is hit to avoid spamming. I also like the style of graphics, they need a little work but generally okay. Keep up the good work!
Good game. It brings back memories. I don't know how to criticize really, I think it worked very well for a retro platformer.
I liked graphics the most but I think especially for a jam entry it's quite short. Another problem was that it wasn't challenging enough but I guess that's also because of the length. There could be more challenging levels later on. Mechanics are not so original I'm sorry but this could be a mobile game and maybe even a popular one.
I think graphics look really pretty but you should differentiate entities and environment. I couldn't see enemies and my own guys most of the time. A secondary directional light only on entities or color adjustments could help. Walking sound is not the best. Other than these, it's quite good work. Of course it would be better with more content but maybe not in 72 hours. Keep up the good work!
As I told you on stream, it would be nice if vine length has consistency. The graphics have Commodore64 vibe to me but anyway color palette could be improved. Probably you know that sound is not the best. I like the idea of various seeds. An idea could be getting rid of tile constraint and letting player choose the spot that seed will take effect on. This is only if you want to work further on it though. I'll be remembering these games so, I expect better next time! :)
Before I forgot, let me mention, when you leave scoreboard it goes back to splash screen, not very nice. I think it has potential to be a popular mobile game but I am not sure the idea would be original. I think I liked the graphics most. Sound is also okay. You need to think about what you can add to the gameplay though.
I like the mechanic a lot but the realization could be better. Sound effects also get annoying after a short while. I also like the graphics but in 72 hours could be done better.
Good idea for a mechanic. Probably it's done before though. I find levels challenging and you did it without making it too difficult and frustrating. Graphics could use a touch. Good entry, keep it coming.
I got to be 9kg and reached the end. You already told me that this was more of an experiment so I won't bother commenting on the game side. I think you could use a little more zoomed out camera and a longer parkour to demonstrate more of this experiment. Keep up the good work :)
If it's really first time in Unity, you did great job. I hope you go further next time. I found the mine a little bit empty. It looks like an Oculus Rift demo kind of thing. After a while I started spamming both buttons :D Keep developing!
Sound effect for tiles are really nice. Gather eggs and reach exit is a working mechanic but I guess it's not enough by itself to be fun. There has to be other twists, I think you know it yourself too. Still great work, love the graphics and sounds. But minions were better :P
I think it would be better if the color change was permanent. Also a checkpoint at the start of a level could be nice. I failed the second level immediately. Graphics and sound need rework. Also colliders were off I think. Expecting better next time!
I like the mechanics but it was too hard for me :( I guess this could make a good mobile game. My favorite part was chosen colors. Music & sounds also went with style.
Bigger baby here :P
I think it's a really simple but clean entry. I guess you chose the safe way. I would recommend you to get out of your comfort zone a little bit. Cute visuals and music btw :)
I didn't have much time to get deep into this but I assume there is a way around to beat it. I liked animated pixel art and resource management mechanics. It just starts too hard in my opinion, could make a curve instead. We have a similar mechanic in our game, you may want to check it out.
My best is 437 for the second time I played. Didn't play again though, sorry. I really liked how the game offers an infinite gameplay with scoring but it still has an advancement mechanic. I'm not sure if it was infinite but why not. Visually and aurally it was satisfying. Keep up the good work.
I like graphics, sound effects and music in this game. I also like how you used classic mechanic of snake. However the game trolls you quite a lot. This includes rare checkpoints. I also think that it wasn't so responsive. I couldn't manage to finish the game but I'd love to. Good job.
Thanks for playing our game, I did not really get your point about stating that it was made for the jam. We wrote it in Credits section of the game and it's a Jam Entry as written next to my nickname on game page.
If you think we did it out of jam time, believe me it would be more of a complete game which is not true because we ran out of time. Only music and sound effects are outsourced using CC or public domain license and the ones with CC license are credited in Credits again.
I kinda liked the mechanic but at one place it failed, I respawned on the flower thing. I don't know if that was intentional or not. Sound and graphics should be reworked for sure. I think you can do better. Also about writing, it wasn't really funny for me, you may try to work on that. Good luck!
I feel like you were visually inspired by Fez. I think the game is fine but there are problems. The first one is the repetitive sound of spring. Second one is that I could not adjust to left-right controls when character keeps rotating and it became really frustrating. I have headache now actually :( Anyways, clean entry. Keep up the good work!
Mechanic is solid. I think it could be just a little bit slower game with other types of robots that you could produce. They could be with different features and stuff. Or more awesome would be to combine pieces yourself to create custom robots. Great work, I'd like to see more entries like this.
This is so christmasy :P I'm sorry, graphics are not the best but I liked the cylinder space, it fits well with tumbling down the mountain. I think you should go more innovative and up your graphics next time, keep up the good work :)
Placement of animals breaks the run but the game works overall. I think I cannot get back to the second animal if I miss it. It lacked a little bit of feeling of grip to be honest, felt like hovering more than running. It is probably because of animation. I think it would be also more interesting if there were more interactions other than running around but I know, no time. Don't forget to save the forest!
Really fun game, I loved how you combined bullet hell and lemmings mechanics especially. I think you should spend more time on graphics and sound design next time and you might have a winning title. Great game.
Looking at number of people collaborated, the amount of work is not unbelievable but you did great job creating the graphical style and combat. Also noticed there is some kind of randomization.
I think the result is expected from Sparklin Labs :)
This could become a larger game easily btw, do it!
My favorite part is the retro visual style. Other than that difficulty of challenge is right. I think it could be longer though but I realize you had to polish it to look nice like this. Clean entry, I like it!
There is not much to it, I played hundreds of similar games so I cannot really say it's innovative. I think you should try to challenge yourself more next time and come up with a more original idea. No offense, keep working :)
I wanted it to never end because every rule was very different than the last one :) I really like it. I died all my deaths in Newton part :P
Escaping the room idea fits the theme but I'm not even sure if it's a game. Next time I'd suggest you try to create something you would like to play yourself.
Very good art and story but it's very repetitive. It felt to me like one of those mobile games where upgrades are infinite and you grind to get to the next weapon. I personally don't like that kind of games but if you do this for mobile I'm sure you'll have an audience.
It's a chill game. I think this could be easily a multiplayer experience with much more content and published on market. I could only get 3 achievements but it was enough to understand the concept. Very good idea.
I like the idea of using a number of resources in a tactical manner but I think player could have more foresight to what is to come so he could be more prepared. I think from this core idea you can create a much sophisticated and better game. Keep up!
Well it's you again with another original idea. What can I say?
As I already told you the production quality is not that high but you still managed to get me in the mood which is something :) I wish it would be more of an adventure game :P
Wow it was intense. I tried to find a sweet spot and I kind of managed but it was still hard for me to get past 15. Graphics and sound could use some work but otherwise it's a nice weapon mechanic. Reminded me of Titan Souls :)
I really liked the point and click adventure feel to this game especially when you have to place objects correctly and combine two of them. I think you could have explored that part even more. Graphics were fine but collisions were a little strange overall. I hope this helps for your future projects, cool game :)
I liked the game a lot I think this falls in my "could easily be a mobile game" category. I found objects not easily distinguishable in rooms so it requires quite a while to get used to it. Overall, a very good job with graphics, mechanic and music anyway.
I like these vs.developer kind of games but I think it could be longer and more challenging. You also need work on graphics. Good humor and not bad at all for a first game.
I like the idea but it is quite easy to explain or give a hint at the moment. Maybe words instead of single characters would be better. But still you could put ____ instead of the word I guess. Then you could introduce a time limit as well. However as I said the potential is there. Good job.
Very simple but hard to master mechanic. I got confused with direction change when you double jumped almost every time. I think you definitely need to create a mobile game out of this since it can be played with one button. Graphics and sound are also good. Excellent job.
Very good idea for a mechanic. I like the simplicity and theme-relatedness of this game but I think you could do something more with the environment. Anyway I enjoyed it a lot.
