LD23 — Tiny World

The Tourist by FunkyDelPueblo 2012-05-02T12:21:00

Nice presentation in sound and graphics.
It takes a bit too long to find items. I think this game would need some mechanic to ensure the player finds something at a steady rate :)

Spaceship In The Sky With Colors by fysx 2012-04-29T17:12:00

Very nice little game.
I didn't understand on my first play why I died, but to your credit I was actually able to figure it out without reading any instructions :)

The color scheme is fresh and different and your game idea also feels very original.

The music was alright but nothing too memorable. Also I think you could perhaps add some bigger signal when you're about to blow up as watching the top right and the shifting color channels can be difficult.

All in all a very polished and original entry.

9Lives by TheGamingProject 2012-04-26T20:19:00

It is a bit too tiny, at least on my display.
I am really liking the transistions, it feels like a storybook or comic but also a game.

The music is pleasent.
The game did jam when I was climbing the tree. The snail hitting sound started looping and I couldn't do anything anymore.

Aside from tininess and bugs very nice.

Gnome Alone by Matt Rudder 2012-04-25T11:23:00

I kind of enjoy the graphic style. I think there is a lot of promise there. Gameplay is solid enough but there doesn't seem to be a clear objective as such. Sound usually livens up action games, but unfortunately there is none.

All in all very nice effort for a first jam.

Itty Bitty Dimension Warp by tdsmale 2012-04-27T00:06:00

Very intuitive.

Pixel Wars by Kalabasa 2012-04-30T12:58:00

Interesting concept. The controls weren't completely intuitive and I could never figure out how my pixels pick what they will shoot at.

But somehow there is a cool "alive" vibe to this.

Lord Deadrock's Adventures by abstroke 2012-04-25T13:28:00

There is something nice about the art style. Except the font which doesn't sit at all with the graphics.

The movement is a bit glitchy and I seemed to get stuck a lot.
Also I am not a big fan of having action keys when you're already touching whatever you want interact with.

I think sound could've done a lot here. Some jungle ambience etc.

Tondie and Zupe by Cosmologicon 2012-04-28T11:21:00

I don't usually care much for planet defense games. But you've blended it with platforming action in a way that is very inspiring and fun.

The game is a bit easy and it doesn't really progress much, but the basic action is so fun it makes up for that.

Super World of Progress Achievement by SevenForce 2012-04-27T13:05:00

Unfinished and very glitchy (I walked on air, fell through platforms, after jumping the character won't walk before tapping the arrow key again).

But graphics are very nice indeed :)

Contained by victorsouza 2012-04-26T06:02:00

Overall a very nice game. I do find a it a it confusing the way more jellies constantly spawn without any warning so I died a couple of times without having a clear idea what hit me.

Bacterial World by mneubrand 2012-04-27T06:03:00

Nice looking game.
I do feel the controls could be a bit more responsive. To me it felt like the sliding would "pump". Like the timer on that button couldn't quite keep up.

A very simple game but basically fun.

Tiny World by graytest 2012-04-27T05:50:00

I liked the core mechanic of having 2 vehicles to shoot from. It is just that the action wasn't very satisfying because the projectiles make little impact and there is a constant spam of enemies.

But I do see the foundation of a good shooter game here.
Music would've been nice.

Large Hadron Collider: Ludum Dare Edition by Muhiz 2012-04-29T17:44:00

Very basic. Control feels a bit stiff.
But it is a game alright.

Tiny Galaxy by devince 2012-04-27T12:36:00

Fun idea. The graphics work well in this.

I would've liked some a bit more concrete object. Perhaps you should have a limited amount of the bridges and then you should collect more of them?

I also managed to box myself in with them with no way out :P

Escape from tiny world by jonsul 2012-04-25T13:38:00

I like the graphics a lot. The effects are also very cool.

As someone who has a bit of experience in dealing with box2d and Löve I think this game is very nice.
Because of the above statement I won't also mark this game for the fact the 2 blocks on the left suddenly exploded outwards and launched my rocket to the sky, from where it fell down back :D

Laser Coin Planets by mortehu 2012-04-25T21:29:00

Nice planet mechanics. Didn't like the darkening screen too much. Everytime it went darker it made me think it will fade into a game over screen or something.

Tiny World by pag 2012-04-29T14:14:00

Nice clearly working game. I am not sure I really get the sense behind collecting planets, but perhaps it is meant as a very abstract mechanic in this context :)

The game is very easy and some complexity would help a lot.

Crash Effect by koredozo 2012-04-30T05:18:00

Really like the music and sound effects on this one.
The game mechanic feels original and rather fun.

I found it a bit hard to get what the "rules" for your physics were, so maybe some improvement required there.

The little added story bits did a lot here too.

Tiny World's Lunar CTF by bwdevel 2012-04-25T21:40:00

The basic concept is alright. It is as the author states the unfinished nature of many features that lets this game down a bit.

Again I sorely miss music/background audio.

muniverse by namuol 2012-04-27T06:13:00

Very impressive scope.
I thought it was a nice touch to have moons to the planets in a somewhat realistic way.

Picking up fuel and minerals is a bit tedious due to their small size though. Combat works very well.

The only negative is the lack of any sound and the rather steep difficulty level.

Ant Quest! by Entrails 2012-04-25T17:40:00

Couldn't really get attacking to work(?).
The graphics and concept are good enough, but it is clear the game is not quite fully formed here.

But it is a very nice effort considering you wrote it from scratch.

Down by Tomynok 2012-04-29T16:41:00

The basics work well enough. Graphics are functional, some animation would be nice. Sound effects are good and clear, but I think in a simple game like this there could've been some music :)

The level-clearing condition wasn't quite clear on the UI, so I was a bit surprised when it just ended. Another thing about the ending, while graphics are functional, the javascript dialogs are pretty offputting and don't really fit with the rest of the ui.

Full Metal Planetoid by pom 2012-04-28T14:16:00

The tech seems to be solid enough. I think the game would need a bit stronger gameplay to be actually fun. Now it is more a nice technical demo :)

Volo by Tkatchenko 2012-04-27T12:21:00

Functional. The player character tends to get a bit stuck on things sometimes.

What I gain from collecting those boxes doesn't seem to be entirely clear. Sound is good, but the death sound is very loud and annoying.

Tiny World Adventure by PabloAM 2012-04-25T17:46:00

Nice game. I think your graphics looked very nice. The weapons were fun to use and your level designed supported nicely all your mechanics.

The jump-noise is obnoxious though and this would so much better with some background music.

Also a little suggestions on key placement. X,C and space are all easily reachable, but pressing TAB is a bit of a hassle from such configuration.

Predicament by orangepascal 2012-04-29T21:41:00

Very nice! One of the best entries I've played.
Your tiny world stayed surprising and dynamic throughout.

Shame for the lack of music, but all in all a wonderful little game exactly fitting the jam theme.

Your story actually made me want to know what happens next.

Pluto's Revenge by Hattered 2012-04-29T17:34:00

Tested the love-version.

The mechanic works well enough and I like the sound effect design. But there does not seem to be much of an objective.

Diminutive Dungeon by humblesound 2012-04-27T00:09:00

Nice game. I personally find the visual style a bit conflicted with the textures and ascii characters not quite working together.

The Wizardry the Game by Lumolk 2012-04-29T12:51:00

Completely slideshows in chrome on my pc. Probably some optimization required.

Hitting the enemies with the lightning didn't maybe give quite enough feedback when you were missing vs. hitting.

Tiny Kitty Harem Hero by domrein 2012-04-27T00:29:00

I like the graphics and the little explosion effects. Javascript dialogs look a bit unpolished by comparison.

If this had just a little bit more varied gameplay and sound this might be awesome :)

Turtles, all the Way Down! by NewButtermilk 2012-04-25T21:21:00

The first true wat I've encountered in #23 games :D
Not sure if it is game, but it is something.

Attack of the Tiny People by Catmoo 2012-04-29T12:15:00

Spaceshooter that works well enough. I think it is somewhat let down by the extremely high difficulty and the lack of any kind of music. Sound effects are actually pretty beefy and refreshingly different from the expected 8bit style.

Also WASD and space makes ctrl a very awkward button to reach.

Bacteriom nom nom by cptalbertwesker 2012-05-02T05:11:00

I liked the setup and how it was tied together with the end. There was a genuine story during this game.

The game itself really has no challenge and it was a bit weird having to tap the arrow keys to move.
Some music during the game would've been nice too.

Robot in the Garden by Gaeel 2012-04-25T13:32:00

Very solid graphics. The movement around could be a bit quicker, but I love the jetpack.

The effects are also very nicely done. Shame actually that it is such a tiny game;)

Sneaking Guinea Pig by Dzarg 2012-05-02T14:26:00

Interesting concept :D

The control is a bit glitchy, but the action is actually pretty fun.
Graphics are ugly, but I think in a very suitable way (if that makes sense).

Not bad.

doggone by hazzen 2012-04-26T22:34:00

Not much game here, but I do like your graphics and sound quite a bit. Nice style.

The Elves end the Shoemaker by Nora Shishi 2012-04-25T10:52:00

The graphics are spot on emulation of 8bit times. I find the controls workable and the action fun. A very simple, pleasent game.

Childhood toys by Gornova 2012-04-27T12:58:00

The control is very good. Graphics look nice and there is a cohesive atmosphere.

I also like the use of static text.

The teleport activation is not however very clear so it is easy to get stuck there.

Tiny Apocalypse by JaydenB 2012-04-26T05:45:00

For whatever reason I am unable to continue from the main menu.

Enter, space none work :(

Biodome by 7Soul 2012-04-25T13:14:00

I liked the visuals and the music. Gameplay however wasn't very engaging and it is unintuitive to have to jump to place crates. Also I don't quite see how this fits within the theme of the Jam.

Ant-hill escape thingy by teomat 2012-04-26T05:26:00

I liked the graphics a lot. They're simple but memorable.

The platforming feels quite stiff for some reason. Also a lack of any sound makes this feel somehow very incomplete.

Another Kind of World by daandruff 2012-04-26T05:57:00

Nicely done. My favourite things are the graphics and the audio.
The mouse control for the bombs takes some figuring out and even then it is not the most intuitive.

The Island of Dare by Fenmar 2012-04-25T21:11:00

I somehow really liked this. Minimalist games are very interesting to me. You manage to communicate a whole lot with some simple shapes and text.

On my first play I died and on my second I ended up in a maze with no way forward, so I guess it is somewhat generated each time?

A very nice idea, it would be fun to a play that looked and sounded like this but with a longer game and bigger world to explore.

Tiny's World by chipcaramel 2012-04-29T14:08:00

Very nice graphics and audio. The game genuiely looks and sounds very competent. But what on earth were you thinking with the jumping. The impossibility of jumping while moving forward is extremely frustrating and made me quit way sooner than I would've liked to :)

I would like to see this project continued and implemented with a less frustrating jumping mechanic.

Wulcan by leafo 2012-04-29T17:50:00

Very nice game that feels like a complete piece.
I really love the graphics and the visual effect on the background.

Sound is perhaps a bit lackluster compared to the visuals, but it does the job.

My only real criticism is the rather punishing difficulty level.

Tinysaur by leksapeksa 2012-04-29T12:55:00

Nice retro-platforming action. Graphics look nice and fun.
Unfortunately like mentioned sound in chrome is pretty broken.

Glue Galaxy Rescue! by kirbytails7 2012-04-27T00:25:00

Nice idea. It is not very clear from the game itself what to do though.

Nice music and sound.

Superpixel by lectvs 2012-04-27T07:49:00

Ah, super meat boy in squares. Very competently done. Functional visuals and nice control. Sound is perhaps a bit bland.

LittlePlanetBigRocket by daredevildave 2012-04-30T05:26:00

I like the concept.
The player character moves a bit slow for my taste.
Everything is clear and no instruction is really required which is a great thing.

A bit richer soundscape would've also done wonders to the general mood :)

Tiny Town vs. The Volcano by pbackx 2012-04-30T13:18:00

Nice concept. I played this rather long since it combines random chance and strategy in a nice way:)

The resources high pitched sound effect made me turn off the sound though. I think there is development potential here.

Tiny Monk by Krisjet 2012-04-25T11:03:00

I liked the central mechanic a lot. It is very smart and combines sort of basebuilding with action elements. Unfortunately the action itself is not quite as fun. The enemies appear a bit too close to the player and there doesn't seem to be much strategy in the shooting.

However it is very impressive that this is a 48h compo game :)

Single Cycles by mildmojo 2012-04-26T05:13:00

I like one-button mechanics. Unfortunately I had to play this single player so I don't think I got the most fun out of it.

Universal Singularity by kratorspore 2012-05-02T14:19:00

Graphics are nice, remind me of old PC adventure games for some reason. The control feels somehow fishy and the collision is also very punishing.

Sound is alright.

Microcosm by maxman43 2012-04-25T14:08:00

Graphics are very nice. It is a bit hard to figure out what various things represent so I ended up just clicking everything trying to figure things out.

Flyght by yosh 2012-04-29T14:19:00

Nice shooter game. Everything works as expected. Only wish is there would be a little more content. Also the ending is a bit abrupt.

Fish Simulator X by bcdefg123 2012-05-02T12:36:00

This was a fun entry. The gameplay is a bit repetitive, but I liked the announcements and little bits with speech bubbles.

The music was also suitably frantic. All and all I think you created an unusual mood for this game :)

Gulliver by DDRKirby(ISQ) 2012-04-27T08:22:00

Very impressive entry. I played this the longest out of all the entries so far. Solid gameplay and wonderful soundtrack.

Very well done.

Don't Mess with the Gnomes! by ziomorti 2012-04-29T14:26:00

Solid idea here. Some problems: 1) takes a while before you get you have to click the platform. 2) on the platforms you get a bug where the gnome is apparently not constantly touching the platform so you can't jump.

I think without the jumping issue this could be a very fun game actually.

Tiny Worlds by mnem 2012-05-02T06:06:00

The mechanic is nicely executed. Not much challenge or to do though. Music would've been nice.

Kid's Wars by iFred_QC 2012-05-02T19:04:00

I like this concept, the gameplay is very simplistic really (at least I couldn't figure out many ways to affect the outcome), but I somehow like using the globe surface for war.

Sound is just some noise-explosions, some music would've probably elevated the general feel.

Lastly graphics are very nice and it is very easy to see what is going on, so a plus there.

Nobody by Yapikom 2012-05-02T07:32:00

Like the visuals. Platforming is functional if annoying.
Music seems a bit phoned in.

Angels on a Pin by Dmitri Z 2012-04-27T15:06:00

Not really much to this game. The ending music is nice.

Celia by Finn Stokes 2012-04-25T16:30:00

Very nice looking game.
I feel the background parallax is a bit overwhelming though.

There seems to be some slowdown when going to certain parts of a level.

A nice neat platformer with some performance issues.

Crashed on Minutiae Prime by zuurr 2012-04-27T00:38:00

ah finally some top-down adventuring. Very nicely done, the short fetch quest is fun enough. My only problem was that I initially thought the dark blue pools were walls.

If you added pathfinding to the control mechanic it might be very nice to build on.

Tiny Cubic Maze World by tomhunt 2012-05-02T11:56:00

The 3d maze is a nice idea. It just doesn't seem to have much meaning in terms of gameplay in this game.

Also rather headache-inducing color choices :D

Tiny Cavern by mipi 2012-05-08T10:39:00

Very short. Nice visuals, nice mood.
Really like the little story segment screens :)

The Tiny World of Buzz by callidus 2012-04-27T00:17:00

This actually controls very well. If there were some projectiles to shoot etc. this could be a very fun game.

Atrocious menus.

70 seconds left by emveyh 2012-04-29T21:31:00

Not bad. I like the graphics a lot.
The gameplay is very simplistic and you don't really get a sense of skill or strategy mattering much.

The sound is functional and the so is the music, but nothing too special.

But I'd definitely continue working with the nice graphics and concept!

Sprace by Niavlys 2012-04-27T00:20:00

Graphics aren't bad. The gameplay however isn't very fun and well you know, it is unfinished :)

Professor McSteen, and his shrinking machine by PerilousPete 2012-04-30T05:10:00

Nicely working mechanics. Graphics are fine. Could've used a bit less brutal difficulty level at the start.

Magma Defense by kj654321 2012-04-27T00:14:00

Fun mechanic. This could've used some effects, music and perhaps some secondary gameplay elements.

Perl Guardian by foxor 2012-04-29T21:19:00

No idea what is happening or why :)

Tiny Man by Dreauw 2012-04-27T07:52:00

I don't feel like the level design really compliments your mechanic.

Also the jump control is very stiff and hard to feel comfortable with.

LD24 — Evolution

Evo Dash by Karel 2012-08-29T15:05:00

Woo, quite possibly my favourite game so far. Looks great, plays great and there is really good sense of fast gameplay here.

I also like how you very intuively present all the mechanics and variables during the game. This is the right way of doing a tutorial :)

This would be even more brilliant with some sound and frantic music. You should definitely continue working on it.

PixelVolution by darokin 2012-08-28T22:40:00

That was kind of cool, if really short.
I really liked how the game was revealing itself, but then it..stopped :D Next time less kittens, more levels.

Bit by Bit by braneof 2012-08-28T14:55:00

Very short game. Kind of hard to figure out whats the point, maybe that is the point?

TOWER of Evolution by SiENcE 2012-08-30T10:43:00

Crisp graphics, clear objective. Some of the graphics can be a bit eyestraining though. Jumping is also very very quick, by which i mean the character gets shot up and lands very fast, maybe add some hang time in there?

Invaders: Evolution by vilya 2012-08-29T21:14:00

Nice how you changed the basic game by putting some backstory and context in it. I actually found the familiar gameplay more engaging because of that.

Karyote by csanyk 2012-08-28T21:45:00

Minimalistic but pleasent presentation.
Everything seems to work fine even if the game feels a bit aimless.

Slimevolution by Pixelulsar 2012-08-29T22:43:00

Very nice graphics. Gameplay does indeed take its time, but the controls work fine and the enemies are nicely tuned to your abilities. Good effort.

Urban Sprawl by TheGamingProject 2012-08-28T14:25:00

Nice looking graphics. I also didn't build a town center at first, and kept wondering why is nothing moving :D

Terra Tam: The World Warrior by L 2012-08-29T09:08:00

Haha, awesome. Very lovely art style, definitely the highest point of the entry. Not a game so much, but it was great fun anyway :)

Pixelapse by BNeutral 2012-08-29T08:57:00

Very nice art style, everything looks quite carefully considered.
Controls are horribly frustrating for me though.

Evo by DaveDobson 2012-08-29T21:52:00

Clever and really playable puzzle game.
There are lots of puzzle games in LDs usually and only few are fun to play. This is one of them.

Deal with It by midgard 2012-08-29T14:56:00

Extremely difficult straight from the start :D
I think I liked the art in the intro better than the actual game.

Super Devolution Man by bitlit 2012-08-29T21:48:00

Not a bad topdown shooter engine. I think bullets and enemy reactions to shooting could be a bit more "substantial" if you know what I mean.

Also music would've been very nice in a game like this :)

the Fisherman by dagothig 2012-08-30T09:27:00

I have to say I can see a great game here if more time was used to develop it :) I like these sort of things with multiple aspects to them.
Graphics are also very nice and fit well together.

Definite wow-moment was when the wind suddenly ceased and I couldn't move :D

Lucas's Quest Backwards by Volute 2012-08-31T18:27:00

Really nice graphics and subtle use of sound. Story was realized really well and the cutscenes were a definite highlight.

Unfortunately the floaty movement combined with constant jumping levels turned me off from the nice presentation.

The Singularity is Here! by josefnpat 2012-08-30T17:25:00

Merciless barrage of enemies and red bullets makes this a very challenging game. The crew-banter is absolutely hilarious though and it kept me entertained even when the gameplay quite didn't ;)

All in all very nice design and overall presentation in a game that will probably benefit from some balance fixing and enemy diversification.

Back to the future! by aitorman 2012-08-28T20:19:00

Very tough first level. But judging from the screenshots and description there is some variation which is always a good thing :)

Game-Age by Lacutis 2012-08-28T22:58:00

Solidly executed anthology of retro games. Breakout level is a bit too long :P

Rise of the Morbels by Cosmologicon 2012-08-29T21:38:00

Wonderful. This kept me playing for a lot longer than I anticipated. Story is deliciously mysterious and the mechanics and aesthetics feel otherwordly and original.

Gameplay is not quite as perfect, but it works well enough to make this a very recommendable and full experience.

Great job.

Radiation Man by schnerble 2012-08-30T11:51:00

Slightly disjointed graphics, though the 3d is kind of cool.
Gameplay works well enough, but it is quite a short game :)

A Game of Towns by homelinen 2012-08-28T23:35:00

All the forest burned and urban development got completely out of hand. A simulator indeed.

QRokeMon by hampa 2012-08-28T23:32:00

What happened and why. This is the question I am left with :D

FOR THE darWIN by TravisChen 2012-08-31T14:07:00

Delightful and complete graphics, competent audio department.
It is a shame that the gameplay doesn't quite match these strong suits.

But still definitely one of the most awesome looking things around in this jam.

Pincers by ggiraldez 2012-09-01T22:18:00

I first tried keyboard control, that was weird but mouse control works well enough. I'd wish though the worm would retain the velocity so you wouldn't have to hold the mouse key constantly :)

There were enough different creatures and I liked the way the world (unexpectedly) got darker and the monsters bigger when you started wandering outwards.

Nice job.

Evo Face by DiscoFish 2012-08-29T22:16:00

Another entry to the "wat" category of games :D
Anyway it did not make much sense to me, but I like the visuals and the general feel you have going.

Vivere by Tkatchenko 2012-08-29T14:52:00

Well this kind of game is all about watching what do the creatures do, and your creatures do quite interesting things.

Well done.

Super Robocade by VoEC 2012-09-05T16:46:00

Nice presentation and idea. Some issues of polish:
movement and jumping stay sluggish and floaty even after upgrades,
enemies don't have a warning animation when they pop back up (they do in the game you're homaging to ;)).

And music would've made it a bit more fun when the session gets longer.

Otherwise nice execution.

Adaptation : large or small by FlowerPower 2012-08-29T16:34:00

Very clunky controls in a game that would otherwise be rather okay.

GeneRogue by ghoulsblade 2012-08-28T23:22:00

This was fun. I usually hate mouse-based movement control schemes, but this one I actually liked!

The basic game idea does seem indeed very good and worth carrying on.

Arcane Dungeons ( aka Evil Lord vs Angel for the salvation or perdition of a hero's soul) by Christina Antoinette Neofotistou 2012-09-01T14:47:00

Very nice graphical presentation and more over all the stats are easy to read. The game concept is interesting, but of course not very realized with the missing AI.

I think this could also work really well as a real board game/ccg.

Finally some extra points from the nice a fitting music :)

Cubevo by NostraDamon 2012-08-31T13:56:00

The initial moments are intriguing when you start working out the mechanics. Uncovering the world block by block. This is one of those gameplay mechanics that relies on very basic human emotions for discovery, which is cool.

I have to say I would've liked a crosshair, and perhaps you could've arranged a bit more rewards near the start as the world kind of felt sparse when I had spent all my gems.

Good job.

Evolution of the Flying Pinatas by Zelen3d 2012-08-28T21:15:00

Okay that was confusing. Nice enough graphics, the action is completely chaotic and gameplay objectives questionable :D

Super Darwin by sev_inf 2012-08-28T23:56:00

Close brush, I called my entry 'Super Charles Darwin' :D

Fortunately though we have taken quite opposite approaches to the subject matter.

I'll get the few criticisms out of the way: the jumping is oddly floaty and it feels very hard to avoid enemies or kill them with the very short ranged cane.

Now the design is wonderful all around. All the environments, enemies and items are absolutely lovely.

The music and sound effects are also totally fitting and the game stays interesting for quite some time.

Great job here!

Darwin's Journey by TinyHat 2012-08-30T09:17:00

Indeed very short, but also sets a very nice mood.
If there was some more gameplay this would be among top games I've played.
For now it is a very nice visual and audio experience :)

Mood points acquired.

LimiT by Sakuyan 2012-08-30T19:34:00

An impressive journey you have here. Stellar graphics and unexpected conclusion. Really liked it all.
Gameplay there isn't much, and I find it slightly suffers from the lack of any kind of audio to heighten the moments.

Great job still.

SURVIVE by Ragzouken 2012-08-30T18:20:00

I think this is the first entry I've played that uses sound also to communicate the lifeforming process, very cool.
Gameplay is confusing, rather chaotic.

My interest was held during the time I played it though.

Evolution Stew by vede 2012-08-30T11:06:00

Funny game. Plenty of different objects. Gameplay is of course quite open ended, but the activity feels fun and there are some things to be found and solved :)

Good game.

The Last Creationist by ubear 2012-08-29T20:19:00

What the hell did I just play?:D

Strange, glitchy just like an unlicensed console game of yore.
Yet somehow very amusing and filling its place.

RUN RUN AMOEBA by tigerj 2012-08-28T17:14:00

I awarded you some mood points as there is something very nice about the minimalistic music and just having the little sound collecting the dna pieces.

I guess the presentation juxtaposes calmness with the urgency of a runner-game. Very nice.

Chaotic God by wilverine 2012-08-29T08:34:00

Funny, heard the same song in another entry :)

Interesting way to present the evolution/creation idea.

Homes Through Time! by Materie 2012-08-30T12:48:00

I find the art pretty enjoyable, animation is also very smooth and pleasent. Too bad for the extremely short game. Reminded me a bit about old DOS adventure games like Hugo.

Life is Pietzsche by Rave Radbury 2012-08-30T09:30:00

Weird game. Visuals and audio are quite disturbing which is a good thing. Control feels a bit off, occasionally my character would dash backwards instead of forward.

Intense.

OS: Evolution by zatyka 2012-08-29T22:04:00

Jumping puzzles aren't my cup of tea. But the way this game is realized is very appealing still. I feel like there is a lot of story and gameplay at the same time which is always a good thing.

Natural Selection - You vs the World by DigiTec 2012-08-29T15:20:00

Very cool concept. And it works perfectly too.
This is among the highlights of plays with this LD batch :)

If you add some sound to this it will be about 100x more awesome.

Cellvolution by thewiseguy99 2012-08-29T15:14:00

Nice combination of sound and visuals, a bit of a dark tone I like.
Don't really know how you evolve as you go along since I didn't during the first few levels, but even so a good demonstration of a core mechanic :)

Darwin's Little Pink Worm by wumpus 2012-08-29T14:33:00

Played it through. I really enjoyed the way your AI behaves, it seemed very lively and often comical :D

Good job.

Booster by fhoenig 2012-08-30T08:14:00

A fellow impactjs entry :)
Very cool graphics, could say downright beautiful.

The concept is also interesting and would probably flesh out if pursued further.

Also your visual effect is really impressive, I'm guessing it uses webgl?

Growth by Rellikiox 2012-08-30T18:50:00

Good aim controls on this one and thank you for fire on hold.
The level creation is a neat idea too.
I'd say the gameplay gets a bit samey though with all the enemies simply rushing you.

Geomelution by Sh1rogane 2012-08-31T13:46:00

Pretty fun game. Feels genuinely retro as in that the controls are crips and the game is very easy to play and understand.

Some enemy variation would've made me play a bit longer.
Upgrades were nice and the xp levels short enough.

I like the music track.

The Highbred Pixel by monomanio 2012-08-30T11:20:00

Very nice game. Visual style feels completely thought out and polished. Suitably hard puzzles, but nice quick pacing from one stage to another. This would definitely be very interesting as a more complete game.

Surprise Cat Secks! by wilbefast 2012-08-30T11:10:00

Rather horrible premise :D Gameplay works and cast resistance is simulated, but nothing really comes after.

T.R.E.E. by Fritzendugan 2012-08-29T19:29:00

I like the destructable scenery. The visuals and non-floored numbers give it a very debuggey feeling though :D

Experimental by jerev 2012-08-29T06:32:00

Graphics are very nice and look polished.

The intro text is quite frustrating because it keeps stopping you an scrolls quite slow :P

Music would've been a very welcome addition.

Moore's Game by rwos 2012-08-29T16:52:00

Looks like you managed to make a lot of different minigames.
Unfortunately the breakout plays so slow for me I couldn't bring myself to complete it.

Also pong has some collision detection bugs on the edge of the paddle.

Transistion are cool though.

Way to Change by yetanother 2012-08-28T21:52:00

Nice puzzle game. Also got stuck on era of changing.
There is something very positive about the visuals and music to make the experience fun though.

Extinction Evader by ollie 2012-08-29T22:53:00

Your visual style makes me smile. The game looks fun and charming. Pretty good gameplay too, just a bit onesided only having the rocks falling constantly.

Hoppy! by ElScootro 2012-08-28T21:27:00

Graphics look good. I played the web version and the glitches make, what seems a like fun game, a bit too hard :(

The life of Cat by Amoaeba Junior 2012-08-30T22:01:00

High audio points, very nice tracks. Also good storytelling, it felt like time actually passing through the game.
Gameplay wasn't perhaps so strong, slightly too big levels vs. slow movement.

Conway's Revenge by Nick Knowlson 2012-08-30T12:33:00

Some spins on the game of life. Presentation is clear and the additional mode(s) is quite interesting.
Is it a game though, probably not, but still well done.

Ebosslution by HaxeR 2012-08-28T20:51:00

Interesting idea with the shooting/losing health tradeoff.
Played to level 4, then it crashed with this

"Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'pos' of undefined "

Sound effects were good, music sadly missing.

Hungry Flies by renatopp 2012-08-29T21:01:00

Haha the sound work on this is awesome. I also like how the hitbox with the bubbles is a bit generous rather than too small.

A suggestion also: since the player will mostly shoot 1 bubble at a time, why not have it break on the 2nd click rather than another button?

Evolve or GTFO! by cptalbertwesker 2012-08-28T23:29:00

What did I just play?:D I think I mainly scored this one based on the background theme playing.

Griff Dangers in Mettle vs. Metal by lambomang 2012-08-28T13:56:00

I really like the underlying idea in this game.
In the game itself I think it would be hard to tell the changes happening as you play, if you didn't know.

Also more punch in the gun effects please :D

Planet Conqueror by Maacus 2012-08-28T20:42:00

Liked it. The idea of exploring other planets and spreading out is very exciting.

I did find the gameplay a bit slow-paced after getting the initial buildings up. That combined with the fact there is no sound or anything "secondary" to do makes it a bit too slow game for me.

But other than that, cool idea and a nice game.

WTF Aliens!? by Gaeel 2012-08-30T17:02:00

Very fun entry! Very slick presentation and intuitive gameplay. Audio nerdism: the rhythm patterns could be a bit more complex, also your shooting sound has that boomey longish attack which makes me want to time it to the peak rather than the beginning of the sample, thus making me off from the game's sync :)

Cool game.

Missing Links by Spelchan 2012-08-29T20:42:00

Movement is very sluggish and makes the game not as fun as it should be. Nice idea with the player character representation.

SUPER ROBOT EVOLUTION. by LiteLab 2012-08-29T22:31:00

Chaotic but kinda fun. Gameplay gets quite repetitive after a while. Nice presentation.

Bear Selection(Web) by darkshadow 2012-08-31T18:50:00

Population graph was a nice touch. Messages could have a little bit of buffer/log so you could see a bit of last few events.

Very slow game with not much for the player to do, still kind of appealing.

Space Evolvers by Rafael CP 2012-08-30T08:05:00

Evolving space invaders seems to be the emergent genre in this LD :D

This among the better ones though. Sound is bringing a lot to the feel in this. Suggestions I'd have include making it keyboard controlled, also combos don't seem to have a timeout so you can score combo hits quite far apart :)

Chomp! by Perry 2012-08-29T13:44:00

Pleasent looking art. Shark movement could use some easing and sense of physics.
Also there isn't a whole lot to do :)

EvoBit by Vennril 2012-08-28T22:18:00

Finished it on the first try. Very nice graphics, all the different styles worked well.

Simple but fun game, only thing I missed was some sound.

Jump'o'lution by N0W33t0rs 2012-09-01T02:16:00

The central idea does have the advantage of turning the platformer movement itself into a kind of puzzle.
It would just need some balancing because now it is very easy to get stuck with no options.

Slime LifeTime by ItsSacraficed 2012-08-29T22:37:00

Not bad graphics, clear GUI and there is actually some sound.
Gameplay unfortunately is horribly repetitive.

Hobolution by lonehangman 2012-08-28T23:39:00

I really like your art style and theme with this.
Gameplay feels kinda clunky and there doesn't seem to be many things to do.

However the art is really quite wonderful, keep it up with your main game.

Evergen by Chimera 2012-08-29T22:08:00

Really like the graphics. Tech engine seems also pretty solid for a compo entry.

Hard to say anything about gameplay as it is TD and then on the other hand not.

Pinball Color by Ninjakannon 2012-08-28T21:12:00

Pinball with the targets appearing on the screen. There is something to the underlying idea here, but the constant flow of balls kind of robs it of much tension or excitement.

Sound in a game like this would be very good :)

Cow (Game about evolution of the game) by LemonTree 2012-08-28T17:07:00

Nice moody puzzle game. I have to say I don't get why spikes don't hurt you from the right side in the first level.

Also the control is a bit sluggish and floaty for my tastes.

Very nice presentation and nicely unanticipated gameplay though.

Sweepers! by williamwhitacre 2012-08-30T19:15:00

Cool game. I like how you can feel your character getting more powerful as the game progresses. Very playable and offers quite a bit of depth :)

Sea evolution by rephus 2012-08-30T11:36:00

Nice different looking visuals you have.
Good number of different sea creatures and movement patterns make the sea feel quite alive.

As someone said in the comments an indication of what fish you should eat would be helpful, or at least some feedback on that.

dronepool by mottmatt 2012-08-28T17:29:00

Oh I only got how cool your idea is when I read the code comments on the actual page. Very nice concept and a solid idea, all without really any gameplay, now thats an achievement.

SUPER Levolution by TheBallCollective 2012-09-01T20:32:00

Nice game once I got it working. For some reason the first time It didn't connect and I was perplexed because the coins etc. didn't update. The disconnect warning is perhaps a bit too small ;)

Otherwise very nice idea and it sort of builds the gameplay on its own.
Music and sfx is also very nice.

No Tap Enis by Nile 2012-08-29T06:37:00

I awarded you some humor points for the name :D
Not much to be said about the game, you are a stick that gets thicker..wait that doesn't sound good either ;P

Mrs. Mr. Dr. Evolutio by invaderJim 2012-08-29T09:04:00

Such a weird game :D Have to say I wasn't quite sure what was I supposed to shoot and when, but I got some combos anyway.

Lack of sound kind of lets it down a bit though.

Scopes (Monkey Trial) Simulator by thedaian 2012-08-29T16:39:00

Weird game. Very hard to figure out the relationships between the actions as there is little indication of what values each state has. Political simulator is an original genre though ^^

Vicariously by pdyxs 2012-08-31T18:37:00

Surprisingly engaging considering there aren't really gfx or sound and you just click buttons :D

Also it is fun to have something that connects different play sessions together.

The Erebus and the Terror by sfernald 2012-08-29T17:08:00

Good writing. Compact, descriptive, yet setting a definite mood without forgetting some humour!

It is funny, I can sort of see a visual game playing out while I'm reading it :D

Cosmic Canvas by 7Soul 2012-08-30T07:38:00

Nice graphics, suitable music and snappy controls.
Very nice. The only problem I had was that sometimes when you want to drag something to the core it instead gets flung through it to the other side.

Wolf vs Jackalopes by wizbane 2012-08-28T21:01:00

I liked the stalking mechanism. Presentation is also very good. I think the game might work even better if there was some more area to roam in and try to find food.

Good job.

Upgrade by Fenmar 2012-08-28T13:50:00

Nice looking game. Shame for the lack of sound (at least nothing played in my chrome). This kind of game would probably benefit from some procedural creation so that replays would bring new problems to tackle :)

Darwin's Ghost vs. Science by zachstronaut 2012-08-28T14:43:00

Nice clear presentation. No sound ( I like sounds).
The gameplay mechanic is a bit tedious because you have to always move around the tile you want to move.

Jump! Stun! Teleport! by Sandcrawler 2012-08-28T23:48:00

Nicely tied together the idea of upgrades and collecting things.

Boss fight has also very nice logic to it.

Ulovetion by Colapsydo 2012-08-29T09:18:00

I got extinct. Seems kinda hard right from the start. Nice number of different transformations though.

Evo Towerwars by Rialgar 2012-08-29T14:24:00

Twist on tower defense. Your GUI is very clean and easy to understand so I liked this more than most other TD games I've played here so far.

I do feel the evolved towers could have different graphics to differentiate them, also some more animations etc. would not hurt.

ExoSlime by leafo 2012-08-28T23:14:00

Very nice graphics, visual effects and generally well presented.

Enemy variation was also very good, and I liked their behaviour.
The player weapon wasn't very fun and I would've enjoyed it a lot more with some upgrades.

Having some love2d experience myself it is weird that such a game would have excessive loading times and almost crash when loading the game, so probably some issues to sort out there.

On the whole, very nice job.

Upward Mankind by chamberlainpi 2012-08-29T22:47:00

Graphics are very nice and the music bit sounds very classic to me :)
Also some nice level design ideas in the short time it lasts.

Evoes by Corné Dorrestijn 2012-08-29T08:31:00

Presentation is nice all around. I like magnifying glass effect. It is a bit hard to figure out what to do and even with reading the explanation I found it hard to control the objects.

Transmogrify by WITS 2012-08-29T08:24:00

Kinda like distilling the space shooter to its bare essentials here.

Once I figured out the upgrades the idea became clear and I had quite a bit of fun playing. Little visual touches also make the experience very nice.

Deep Sea Fish Loves You Forever by agersant 2012-08-30T11:40:00

Excellent little game! Very polished and well thoughtout visuals. I was very easy to figure out what to do.
Sound is also supporting the action perfectly.

Don't know how extensive an idea like this can be developed, but the base available here sure is nice :)

Good job.

Plop by Yann 2012-08-29T18:58:00

Best puzzle game I've played so far. All your elements come nicely together and there is no need to read descriptions or comments to figure the game out.

Some nice puzzle design too.

My only criticism is about the controls that don't feel quite accurate enough.

Aqualution by alexandervrs 2012-08-29T09:13:00

Absolutely lovely visuals. Music compliments them very nicely also. This feels like a genuine 16-bit game, which is very impressive.

Coming Into Focus by Gjarble 2012-08-29T14:44:00

I had a problem that even a single keypress would be mostly registered as 2, so I couldn't hit the small platforms.

BobBots! by B3N 2012-08-28T20:56:00

Simple yet functional little game. Nice graphics.
This could definitely use some sound/music too.

Resolute by RosyPenguin 2012-08-31T18:43:00

Now this is a good example how to get a really nice visual style with very simple elements. I especially like the player character animation.

Also in the future please make it so that holding a key will also move as tapping a single key constantly just to move one direction is kind of dull.

Evo Space by edibletoaster 2012-08-30T11:27:00

Nice functional presentation. I like the music piece.
Controls are a bit confusing at first and the movement is perhaps a bit too quick being that you die very easily :)

Slime Fighter by brenthamel 2012-08-28T15:00:00

Very nice graphics, especially the little touches like slight parallax scrolling and the grass moving :)

Audio is also fitting and nice.

Movement feels a bit non-physical. Some reactions to the hits, like being thrown back etc. would make it feel a bit more 'solid'

Good jon.

Tribal Warfare by geekygenius 2012-08-31T19:05:00

Played the browser version. Very oldschool gfx and at least in the browser version very squinty. Quite enjoyable mechanics and controls. Well done.

MuTaTrIs by yosh 2012-08-28T21:07:00

Nice spin on classic tetris. Sideways motion is a bit too sensitive, I had some trouble lining up my pieces even with single key presses.

Loaded fine for me in Chrome/win7.

Evolvsion by sP0CkEr2 2012-08-29T06:26:00

Played html5 version, it seems strangely slow.
Nice work with the sound the though.

Would've got a higher graphics rating, but the best tiles are from smb3 ;)

Microbia PLUS by colincapurso 2012-08-28T21:18:00

Competent graphics and sound. The gameplay remained a mystery to me even after reading the description :D

And Thus She Spake by pbdiode 2012-08-29T06:21:00

I couldn't for my life figure out how to eat something. Just kept dying.

Angry Fish by munchor 2012-08-30T19:00:00

Looks well enough, but unfortunately runs way too fast for me (probably not using dt for movement calculations).

Poggle Island by Rose 2012-08-30T10:28:00

Original art style. Nicely presented from the GUI to all the animations and sound.
Gameplay is confusing because there are so many poggles and you're not sure as a player what is helping your objective :D

Dig, Jesus! Dig! by monkeymad2 2012-08-29T21:42:00

Wat. Also nice theme!

Orb by ScreamRawr 2012-09-01T19:51:00

Really liked the multiple traits available. Game also looks very good and solid.

Collisions in gameplay sometimes feel a bit off and there should be a bit longer period of invincibility after hitting an enemy. Now you often hit many enemies in a row and the screen is just blinking and you're being thrown around.

Good job otherwise.

Survival of the Leggiest by sanojian 2012-08-28T14:35:00

Nice style. Took me a moment to figure out how the gameplay works.
Also nice arcade-type sound here. Feels like a proper game with some depth to it :)

Evolutionary Chocolatier by davidwparker 2012-08-28T14:00:00

Well I sure have never played such a game before.
What can be said? Nice GUI, not really much game here due to the lacking features :)

Cytosine by Frozen Fractal 2012-08-28T21:31:00

Very nice! The concept is very cool and everything looks and sounds proper.

The only criticism I have is that the gameplay isn't as sharp as it could be, since at the start there is mass of bullets coming at you, but you can also shoot the bullets it is kind of easy/random.

Virus Hunter by ned366 2012-08-29T17:18:00

Nicely put together game. I would recommend putting the firing key on the keyboard as the left mouse gets a bit straining since you are shooting all the time.

A Walk In The Park by PapyPilgrim 2012-09-01T02:26:00

I have to say a mood was imparted on me. My dog didn't run away, I just followed it around and kept making smiling faces.
Good time.

Super Charles Darwin by gnx 2012-08-28T22:20:00

Ah someone made it all the way through :D

Good on you and yeah I wanted the boss to be something special for the few who make it that far!

Super Charles Darwin by gnx 2012-08-30T16:19:00

I have basically only nice/awesome things to say about ImpactJS (and the author too). Definitely worth the price, at least if you plan on making tilemap based games.

Super Charles Darwin by gnx 2012-09-08T14:38:00

I just have to respond to that: I think the movement in Super Meat Boy is quite awful and floaty :P

But tuning character movement is definitely a job longer than what 72 hours allows.

Rovolution by kj654321 2012-08-29T20:50:00

Made it through some levels but then suddenly a glitch(?) dropped me through the floor.

I actually like the way the abilities improve upon succesful usage, you can get some nice puzzles from that.

Crystal of Evolution by Dreauw 2012-08-29T08:50:00

Basic tower defense game.
Graphical and audio presentation were nice, and there was definitely some strategy to buying the towers.

The tower effects themselves could've been more satisfying though.

LD25 — You are the Villain

Peasant Smasher by fatSquirrel 2012-12-18T23:33:00

The concept is nice and basic controls work okay.
I think the issues are mostly in presentation eg. I'd like there to be more visual feedback from destroying things.

Audio would've been nice too.

Attack of the Crimson Plumber by Dylan McCall 2012-12-21T00:51:00

Worked well enough. Visuals are crisp and easy to understand.
Level design could do with some improvements, some of the traps are positioned so that the invaders are hardly affected by them.

Bertie the Butcher by Casino Jack 2012-12-18T14:26:00

Funny how this game shares a lot of features with mine, but we still took a very different approach to gameplay :)

Nice graphics and easy to understand gameplay.
The guards seem to glitch (when coming into contact with blood?) and disappear momentarily though.

Woodcut Ted by rujo 2012-12-20T21:46:00

Good solid controls, I like the fact you need to avoid the falling trees, it is a nice secondary mechanic.

Simple and everything works well, solid entry.

BOTWALK by namuol 2012-12-18T22:21:00

Very polished graphics, a nice original idea, good effects work.
Controls feel a bit buggy at times and gameplay is a bit simple for how detailed the environment is :)

'Goat, give me back my clothes !' by MvT 2012-12-19T23:11:00

Very weird game. Original funny visual style, strange collisions.

Evil Rover by tumoxep 2012-12-21T00:34:00

Nice song, nice goat :D Not happened in that game.

Dastardly Fiend by PixelMonkey 2012-12-19T23:36:00

Graphics look very nice, I like the animation details. Gameplay is very simple. I find it a bit frustrating though that sometimes clicking the flame trap will register for the pinball paddles instead, kind of ruining the intended fast reactions gameplay.

The Best of Me by zatyka 2012-12-20T21:34:00

Nice setup for what could be an interesting story. The stealth ability is visualized very nicely. Unfortunately there in also lies a problem, the ability saps so quickly I found it extremely hard to pass the guards an it made give up eventually. Little more difficulty tweaking and I'm sure it would be a lovely game.

A Villain's Demise by monomanio 2012-12-19T23:28:00

Excellent visuals as I'm sure has been stated many times before.

Gameplay is quite punishing and the jumping feels a bit inprecise either due to physics or gfx not cueing exactly where the platforms should be.

Per rules didn't rate music, but I'm fine with the minimalist wind, suits the game. Bigger minus is the lack of any sound effects.

Lil Assassin by RylandAlmanza 2012-12-18T23:28:00

Good on you to acknowledge the issue with the gfx in your post :) Gameplay was actually very good and I enjoyed it, had there been sound I would've rated it higher.

Corruption by KingSavate 2012-12-20T22:53:00

Nice concept, nicely done graphics. Gameplay is a bit simple, though amusing :)

Super realistic meteor simulator by rolfeth 2012-12-21T00:59:00

Score 2270.
Very creative approach and kind of engaging to play.
Music is extremely repetitive but somehow it went with the mood :D This had somehow a very good feeling apocalypse to it.

Destroy All Heroes by Vennril 2012-12-20T14:25:00

Excellent graphics and seems to play pretty solid too. Liking the speech bubbles and other little touches.

Gameplays has issues in being a bit too hard and simplistics, some sort of secondary mechanic to shooting would've been nice. Also no audio is a shame in such a nice looking game.

Tower Attack by hallsofvallhalla 2012-12-19T06:59:00

Graphics are nice. The turrets do seem to nearly always hit the units and having little control over anything makes the gameplay a bit too simplistics.

Also it would be nice if you could win the game :D

Unleashed by jurnacsr 2012-12-19T07:08:00

Great idea :) This was fun and well made, I like the varied attacks and the minimap is a great addition.
Some music would've been nice though.

Clowns Vs. Bunnies by angela 2012-12-20T22:15:00

Very simple tower defense game. That said, I do like the theme and generally the game has a nice mood about it.

Music is also very good.

Chainsaw Happines by arandaschimpf 2012-12-19T23:33:00

Mechanic gets a bit repetitive and there is not really much to do apart from killing bunnies. Music and graphics are functional.

Bag a Bride by Wuhao 2012-12-19T23:21:00

Very good graphics and lots of fun touches.
Overall lags for me and the bag throwing seems very unresponsive with mouse control.

Super Natural Habitat Destroyer by _Rilem 2012-12-20T21:19:00

Excellent character design, the title screen looks very attractive and interesting. Gameplay has some problems, the mouse control just makes you want this to be a keyboard/gamepad controlled game and the combat also feels less than what it could be.

With some gameplay rethinks and balances there are assets here to make a very nice game :)

Minion #4 by cwalter5 2012-12-20T23:03:00

Very glitchy movement for some reason. Graphical style is ok, and the text exposition creates interest in what is going on.

Joe, the bad jack! (HTML5) by sletari 2012-12-20T22:58:00

3rd lumberjack-themed game I've come across, I guess they must be evil :D
Gameplay is very entertaining and satisfying. Graphics are ok and sound effects too. The only thing lacking is some good fighting music.

A Villain Monster by gre 2012-12-19T23:14:00

Very nice visual effects which unfortunately come with a huge performance penalty, I got around 9fps average.

Game mechanic is interesting and the controls do work quite well. Shame for the lack of audio.

Aliens from outer space! by svenardo 2012-12-18T22:14:00

I liked background music and there are some nice visual touches here too.

The physics of the controls - in particular how your space invader slides around - were a bit off putting.

Also there is not really very much to the gameplay (but then again, is there in space invaders either?).

Scary Chicken by Joncom 2012-12-18T14:35:00

Creative use of the theme. Graphics are nice and there is sound, so no complaints there :)

Jumping feels a bit floaty which makes hitting platforms perhaps harder than it should be.

A Froggy Day in London Town by photonstorm 2012-12-18T21:06:00

A reversal on a familiar game. The visuals are fun, didn't hear any sounds though. What could make this better, would be to have an indicator what type the next car will be. Now with the random speeds it feels more like a luck, rather than a skill game.

Robogoat by mutuwarejam 2012-12-20T23:59:00

My goat flew far..far away :D
Well, I like the goat, the controls are very glitchy.

Elfie by Pixelboy_85 2012-12-20T00:01:00

Impressive rich environment with a lot going on without too much slowdown, very nice.
The mouse wiggling mechanic does get old really fast, just give us good old button for some candy-cane-to-the-face action :D

Also there doesn't seem to be any larger objective at play, which is a shame.
Anyhow solid impressive work on the presentation

The Legend of Destiny by Nora Shishi 2012-12-18T20:36:00

This was funny, not a game, but funny :D

Super Agent Run by dcolgan 2012-12-18T20:54:00

Nice visuals, the wall jumping feels a bit random here and there, took me a while to figure out the down arrow thing too.

I especially liked visualizing the countdown with the troops moving in the background layer, nice touch.

Grim's Christmas List by stuckie 2012-12-18T14:47:00

Basic working mechanics, floaty jumping. Nice enough graphics and the enemy patterns bring a bit of liveliness to the proceedings.

The collision with the people feels a bit random and the level transistion is extremely abrupt, but those are the only complaints I can think of :)

Dungeon Mastermind by 7Soul 2012-12-19T23:46:00

Hard to rate this game. Presentation is excellent, UI works nice and information in terms of the monsters and traps is very clear. However the information as to the actual game objective is a bit obscure and you have to read the description on the ld page a few times to get what is going on.

They All Fall Down by Fififox 2012-12-22T09:59:00

Simple clever concept with lots of possibilities, I like it :)
Visuals are fine, the soundtrack gets a bit aggravating after a while, but that is pretty much the only problem for me.

Do Not Help The Princess by sharbelfs 2012-12-19T06:50:00

Nice presentation. The well done animations give individual character to both the knights and the monsters and it feels like your choices matter, which is good.

Perhaps some long range units or more varied terrain would enhance the gameplay a bit more.

Universe's Next Top Villain by Floko 2012-12-21T00:29:00

Very entertaining, played this a good while :)
The music and cheesy gameshow dialogue are both spot on and the combinations and death images are very fun and creative. Great job.

braaaaaiinsss... by abzde 2012-12-20T21:51:00

Controls work well so the jumping is quite fun. Oddly though if I run fast the framerate starts to drop a lot, but calms down if I move slower. Something is generated on the fly and not quite keeping up I guess?

Airship Infiltration by supermaximo93 2012-12-18T22:02:00

Graphics are nice and there is some pleasent effort in the transistions from the start screen and between levels.

The controls and jumping could've used some more tuning I think.
Also I didn't really feel like a villain as such, maybe the objectives should be more about plundering treasure etc.?

Super Paper Monster Smasher by Jesse Freeman 2012-12-18T20:34:00

Lovely cover art pumped the mood nicely.
The game looks and sounds quite nice.

Gameplay is a bit too shallow to be interesting.

Centipede 2013 by robashton 2012-12-19T06:43:00

It is interesting to see how different classics work reversed. This one works pretty well.

You are the hero by Houly 2012-12-19T07:12:00

Lovely looking game (apart from the glitches). The combat feels nice enough and I'm liking the minimalist sound approach.

Evil Solitaire by ziomorti 2012-12-22T09:47:00

Interesting mechanic, actually works quite well.
The difficulty seems to be pretty punishing :)

BUTCHER by gnx 2012-12-18T09:23:00

@Coolapsydo

Thanks for catching that bug, fixed now :)

LD30 — Connected Worlds

The Turtle Escape by Transmit 2014-08-29T23:41:00

First off I really like the visuals and the gameplay feel of the "alternate" world. The regular world gameplay is a bit too slow and also the hitboxes are a bit too unforgiving (you get killed by bullets you'd think wouldn't hit you).

Other than that it is a solid entry and the alternate world gameplay is great :)

Spanner by Cosmologicon 2014-08-26T05:00:00

Already encountered a couple variations of this mechanic, but yours is quite nicely implemented. I liked the minimalistic sound.

Twinkle by ReddogStone 2014-08-25T23:03:00

After the grueling final hours of my own LD push, this was quite possibly the best thing I could have played. A nice relaxing game about connecting stars.

The audio is really soothing.

Ecosystem by hirsch 2014-08-26T20:15:00

Cool and original idea, especially with the round islands. My rabbits got a bit suicidal though and just walked into the ocean :D

Quest of Untitled by firstbass 2014-08-28T20:23:00

Very squinty screen mode for 1080p users :D Oldschool and minimalistic, I really like the style of the graphics.
Also the game has a very creepy mood, which I like!

Kit Quack Attack by ittlebit 2014-08-27T19:09:00

Really hard! Very cool graphics and sound though, something wonderfully offbeat about the whole thing.

Warp Paint by zatyka 2014-08-29T04:57:00

Very nicely done game. Played with a gamepad, and it felt really responsive and all the mechanics work really well :)

The game also has a nice very mood as the result of the design and audio.

Space Transport Tycoon by BMacIntosh 2014-08-26T10:38:00

Very impressive ingame systems you have going on. It takes a while to figure out things, and there are things that could be streamlined (such as only displaying import/export for things you have available). No audio, which is a shame, but a nice entry nevertheless :)

CosmicCom: Connecting Worlds by deathray 2014-08-26T05:17:00

Click things and numbers get bigger :D I would've liked to see some visual representation of for example the satellites and other spoils you ruin your wrist for in this game.

Grim Gateway by radmars 2014-08-26T05:22:00

Very polished work. The mechanic is very clever. The only criticism I can think of is that sometimes you leap into enemies because the camera follows you a bit high.

SpaceWorlds by dtruby 2014-08-29T23:09:00

It does happen in space and there are worlds, so everything as advertised. Gameplay I can characterize best as "being there", and the game closing itself upon game over creates a poignant end. Music is nice.

NECLiD by 0x0961h 2014-08-25T23:17:00

At the core, it is a puzzle game like I have seen all my life. But the level of production on the visuals and audio is such, that it becomes an enjoyable experience. Very high level of polish. Default gameplay is a bit on the slow side :)

Savior: Saver of Souls by John Drury 2014-08-27T20:21:00

Very polished and really fun arcade game. I think it is quite challenging to do a varied an interesting single screen game, but this one uses the available space really well.

Psychiatric Hospital by GuillaumeGwi 2014-08-26T21:53:00

Wow that was weird. Weird game with glitchy walls and a lot of mental patients. For some reason the intro with its stoic silence and long cuts reminds me of some old cartoons :D

Dreamonaut by hbocao 2014-08-28T18:46:00

Firstly, very nicely done with the game. It looks and sounds like a game that had more effort than 72hrs put into it. The graphics are a bit disorientating at first, but they do look very cool.

Mechnically I find it is a bit hard to estimate how to dodge projectiles and how to shoot enemies which made the game unnecesserily hard. I think you'd do well fine tuning the combat a little bit post-jam, because otherwise it is great stuff!

Sunny Days by Jacob123 2014-08-28T20:31:00

Oh wow this is buggy :D But in such authentic and retro way! This game instantly transported my thoughts to NES games. I actually think the jumping physics feel kinda great if it didn't lead you softlocking the game all the time.

Telecaster by vulpineblazeyt 2014-08-26T21:03:00

Wat :D I'm confused, it is like a text adventure with planets..and something. Definitely original!

Course Collision by rRootagea 2014-08-26T20:28:00

Couldn't run it:

Course Collision by rRootagea 2014-08-27T04:45:00

Cool little game! I like the basic idea and playing against just AI was fun. The visual transistions are really nicely done and give a lot of character to the game.

IsoWorlds by ob6160 2014-08-26T10:59:00

Got that familiar Settlers feeling from this, couldn't wait to get to the next island :D I think the game looks nice and cleverly plays into the theme too.

Game ran fine for me.

Warmageddon by schizokoa 2014-08-26T20:23:00

Didn't have a friend at hand, but your game is so nicely polished I wanted to rate it anyway :) It is a nice compact idea and everything fits together really well. Particulary I like those spell effects, they're gorgeous.
Also your tutorial was very informative, but brief, just perfect.

Work World by bw 2014-08-26T04:47:00

Graphics look very nice and the music works out well. It is unusual having 2 different jumps as the main mechanic for the character, but you did a good enough job of designing your level around it. Sound effects would've been nice.

Coplanarity by awsumpwner27 2014-08-27T05:06:00

It is a good start. Basic mechanic works well with platforming and the visuals look nice. Some sound would've been nice :) But for a first LD very well done.

Waterworld by Tesrym 2014-08-28T20:54:00

I climbed the mountain range! I had a fair bit of fun with this game, many things to do and explore. I really love how the sea and weather look in this. I think this has high potential to become something more!

Neo Nexus by slumber 2014-08-29T23:33:00

The has a cool style and despite the awkward button assignment the mechanics work well. However I got into a phone charging minigame that was just way too difficult to complete, so I couldn't get further than that :)

Woopsy Deadsy by 4sap 2014-08-30T00:18:00

By now I've played quite a few of these games where 1 level is really 2 levels. This one however is presented in a very solid manner. I like the character design and the general feel of the environments. Music and sound effects work very well too.

However I do have a big gripe with the controls. Having the switch key be "up" is making this game harder than it needs to be I think :)

Superconnected World by aDFP 2014-08-30T00:00:00

Graphics and effects are cool, and actually feel thought out, rather than slapped on. Gameplay is a bit boring as the enemy patterns don't really get all that challenging even when the game goes on. Music would've suited this kind of game very well too.

Fourteen by PnDAA 2014-08-26T21:00:00

Really cool idea. It is like a warioware game..except with war and death :D All the minigames are fun and the pace is just right.
Great!

Viking Runner by Frump 2014-08-26T04:20:00

I like the visual theme. Also adding the melee attack provides some variety to gameplay. Hit detection seems a bit off, sometimes I wasn't sure why I died.

Travel Escape by The Number Guy 2014-08-27T13:42:00

Short game. Mechanics work well and the visual presentation is nice and clean. Background music fits well in it too.

The Catapult by OinkIguana 2014-08-27T12:26:00

Solid oldschool rpg. Lots of content you've gotten in, very impressive. Some criticism on how walky the game is. Like for example after finding the catapult, it'd be nice if you got teleported to the village or otherwise a quicker route there.

W4 by jpmit 2014-08-26T21:31:00

Wow, that hurt my brain. Level design is really good and I think you explore your basic mechanic very well. The control is really hard internalize, it is a matter of taste if it should be easier or not I think.

One small criticism about UI design, have the prompts advance with space, since space is already used in-game, and return has no other function :)

The Crossover Episode by Valon487 2014-08-26T04:39:00

Certainly not bad for a first try :) I enjoyed the pixel art, even if the gameplay itself is a bit thin.

Diddy Tingle by inukoblainc 2014-08-26T05:07:00

Coincidence or not, I remember a very similar scenario from Nes Remix on the Wii U ;) The sound effect definitely evokes memories.

Space Delver by commodoreKid 2014-08-26T20:54:00

Flying is hard :D But it feels realistic, so that is a good thing. Everything looks and sounds like it should, so presentation is nice too. Solid game.

Pushback Cities by tulevik.EU 2014-08-26T11:12:00

I'll confess I didn't have a second player to test this with. However I wanted to rate it, because I think it is a cool game :)
I really like how you've mashed up a puzzle game and a sim-style game in this. It also works very well with the theme.

Graphics look very nice. All I was missing was some music to create some urgency in the setting.

Very nice!

Connectris by Amvere 2014-08-26T21:21:00

Cool idea. It is a bit hard reading the tutorial while the game is already going, but once you get the hang of it it seems like there could be a lot of depth to this.

Minimalistic visual and audio presentation do the job.

Reminisce by nikki93 2014-08-27T21:21:00

Really devilish and well designed puzzles. I like the graphics and there's a lot of design in the enemies and environment that gives the game a lot of personality :)

Crossover Survivors by tiredcat 2014-08-27T19:19:00

Really liked this one. I think it has potential for a full game. The concept is very original and fits the theme too!
You also have nicelt changing visuals and music throughout the game. Great job :)

WARBLE WORLDS by pjimmy 2014-09-02T20:12:00

Props for you on making the engine from scratch. Movement feels very weird as the startup to the character actually moving is quite lengthy. One also gets very easily stuck in walls (you can also traverse within walls I noticed).

However the art is nice and building this from scratch is no small effort. I'm sure you learned a lot :)

Mirror Worlds by malf 2014-08-26T10:47:00

I liked this very much. Simple concept, but strong level design makes it interesting. When you get to level 3 the game starts to show its potential :)
Having to click 'retry' is bit of annoyance since the game is otherwise played from keyboard.

Nice!

Shinyrock by jesseleavethisplace 2014-08-25T23:11:00

Lovely intro with nice pacing and humour. Unfortunately the game itself isn't really fun. However the graphics looks quite nice and I think some audio this could've had a very nice atmosphere.

e|merge by MoonlightBomber 2014-08-27T05:01:00

What it says on the tin. I think at least a bit of interactivity would've been nice. Also the visuals could've been more interesting, they did get better towards the end though. Audio and writing worked very well and I feel the story was got conveyed well.

Interesting.

Martian Sock Challenge by jshaffer94247 2014-08-27T04:38:00

Good base mechanic and you get into the game in seconds. Nice little game.

Inverse Worlds by ehgoodenough 2014-08-25T23:28:00

The core mechanic works well with the theme.
I think this should've been split into smaller levels, at least starting with simpler ones. Now the size of the world is a bit overwhelming and doesn't contribute to the fun of the game. Jumping mechanic is interesting, but a bit hard to get hold of :)

Klarb Procreation Rift by ~SquigglySoup~ 2014-08-27T04:53:00

This game you can clearly play a lot of ways. I'm too impatient for it and just race over the edge :D
Nicely done visuals and audio, and the control feels solid.

Good job.

Sabotage Will Set Us Free by machine_screen 2014-08-28T20:07:00

Very stylish graphics and audio in a game that has not a very subtle message :D Gameplay is a bit bland maybe, but the mood makes it worthwhile to experience.

My sweet garden by Kyatric 2014-08-26T04:31:00

Gardening simulator is not what I thought I'd find in the jam :D Not much can be said about it. Everything works as you'd expect.

WORLDS 2D by fleegle2000 2014-08-30T00:08:00

Really nice little game. Mechanic works well, the game sounds and looks nice. It is not even that it is too short, but that it lacks one challenging puzzle from the mix, I think.

Very solid effort.

Fire ze Missiles! by bushmango 2014-08-28T18:34:00

Very nice :) Graphics look really nice and there's a lot of effort put into having different buildings and bonuses available. The audio track is also very pleasing and the sound effects are funny :)

Only thing I'd change is the missile warning being displayed on top of the building descriptions :)

Killbot's Last Adventure by udo 2014-08-28T18:15:00

I couldn't get past the switches :D Production wise everything is really nicely polished and there's a ton of work clearly gone into this.

LD32 — An Unconventional Weapon

The Path of Least Resentment by Martin Vilcans 2015-04-28T21:56:00

The concept is certainly original. I like the basic mechanics of the game and the voice acting was really great.

The actual objective of the game and what the different buildings mean don't really come across from the gameplay alone though.

Dollheart by Chaoseed 2015-04-24T18:47:00

Engine seems to work alright :) Not really a lot to play in a sense of a game, but it looks nice and like you said it is a proof of concept.

Pixel4Dead by Spouwny 2015-04-22T18:00:00

Played the unconventional mode. The music and setting combined create a really strange atmosphere for this game, I like it.

I also liked the timer mechanics with the win condition and getting infected. Despite the very barren presentation everything is actually pretty easy to understand.

Space Worder by ponk 2015-05-03T14:04:00

Engine is not bad :)

The Magical Hat of Usefulness by randoman 2015-04-24T20:38:00

Nice game with diverse weapon options. It was fun retrying the game just to try out all the weapons :) Graphics are nice and music & sfx are clearly thought out for the game, so good job on that too.

Exion XII by alyphen 2015-05-02T18:05:00

The intro is cool and the music is really fitting. Gameplay is really simple and some of the mechanics are a bit strange (like the way climbing ladders work).

Still, good effort :)

Makeshift Defense by bvanschooten 2015-04-24T05:23:00

This is a fun spin on tower defense, that has a nice mix of reflex and strategy. The animations and sounds are a big bonus, as they make the gameplay really satisfying.

Missing some music :)

Power of Djent by Rubel 2015-05-01T22:20:00

I enjoyed this entry. The graphics and music aspect is very well done and it appears a lot of effort was put into it sounding like actual music :) One obvious problem with the gameplay programming is that enemies keep spawning even as you respawn, so dying results in enemies swamping the whole level quite quickly :) Good effort!

Bond by Cheshyr 2015-04-28T21:48:00

I think the idea is cool. Mechanically it is a bit fiddly and sometimes less than intuitive. Nice clean visuals and audio though.

Depressopia by ZYXer 2015-05-01T22:29:00

Neat concept :) You also have a lot of very advanced mechanics in the game that make it quite interesting. I think the gameplay however isn't quite as fun as it could be with all the possibilities available.

Also would've loved some audio :)

Head Sword Ninja by junt74 2015-04-24T19:33:00

TIL: ninjas are deadly even if a bad case of epilepsy should befall them.

I just wanna go to work! by Xatulu 2015-05-04T04:40:00

Ah, slow movement combined with inertia of a small planet :D
Despite the "shortcomings", I think I got the spirit of the game. The standout is easily the score, which possesses just the right kind of dramatic banality to go with every scene of sand throwing -based carnage this game has to offer.

Sun Beam by BadPaul34 2015-04-24T21:06:00

The mechanic was interesting and it was nicely tied together with the visuals, which is always a plus :) Had some WASD issues (for some reason for me the key bindings were SDQZ?).

Square Sprint by jackrugile 2015-04-21T20:15:00

Really good production values here. Visuals & sound work really well and it feels like a polished game.

Mechnically the game is a bit bland and seems to mostly amount to clicking really fast.
Still, very nice effort and with some more work on the mechanic it could be a great game :)

Happy Face vs Bad Robots by Pat AfterMoon 2015-04-24T20:22:00

Graphics looks good and the mechanic works, but like you said the game is not quite finished so there is only so much to play here :)

Monks: The age of reason by carlmartus 2015-04-21T21:36:00

Excellent stuff. Really nice use of a simple 3d and characters to build genuine atmosphere :)

I also liked how in the story the combat suddenly just erupts as you're still getting into grips with the game.
Lots of mood points for that!

The Grand Carpet Hotel by dunin 2015-04-24T05:28:00

Definitely an unconventional weapon in this one :)

Animations are super pretty and the game in general has a lovely style and setting.
I noticed some hit detection bugs with the carpets where it wouldn't launch a wave despite standing on what I thought was the right spot.

Also while I commend you for having music, it does get on the ears a bit after a while :D

Good game.

Slime Trap by Digiraze 2015-05-03T13:55:00

Tower defense with an interesting mechanic :)
The game seems pretty easy going in terms of difficulty, but I could see the mechanic could be developed as flying enemies were introduced.

I think you should work more on this concept, since there are plenty of interesting directions to take this.

Sound Runner by Makay 2015-04-21T21:47:00

Encountered the same startup bug as many other commenters, the use of numbers keys could've also been explained a bit better :D

However I find that the mechanic is actually quite nice and visually everything runs silky-smooth. I think a bit more time is what this game needs.

Nano VS Bot by Goutye 2015-05-01T22:41:00

This is a really neat concept and I really like how you combined the line-following mechanic with some rpg elements.

This is the kind of game I find really inspiring, because it is looking at things from a slightly different angle :)

Also your game mechanics did a good job of explaining themselves as they appeared and everything felt very natural and fluid, which is a very good achievement!

hypercatsensitivity disorder by JulianMH 2015-04-24T20:07:00

What can I say, basic platforming. Nothing wrong with that, mechnically pretty good and there was some solid gameplay on display.

Good job!

Cake Wars! by dreadzilla 2015-04-22T18:10:00

Spread gun! First space shooter I've played this LD. Nicely done and there's actually a bit of more to it than just holding down the shoot button.

Technically the game seems to run great despite the high numbers of bullets flying around, which is very important in a game like this.

Would've really loved to have music to go with the blasting though!

Shadows by Jaloko 2015-05-05T17:07:00

Wonderfully simple mechanic, skillfully expanded through what seems to be a rather large number of levels!
The visuals are crisp and the audio is carefully thought out create a specific mood and setting for this game.

I played this by far the longest time among the entries I've rated this time :)

no. 55 by morazor 2015-05-05T17:21:00

The story adds a lot to this. I think it begins with an interesting hook which goes together with the gameplay. But then the game kind of just stops.

Still, shows that you have skill in crafting an interesting scene :)

AntiCon by micahcowan 2015-04-24T05:18:00

The mechanic is really interesting. I think there could be a bit more inertia with the mouse following as now your position moves reaaally fast and most of the time I didn't even see the bullets that hit me.

Love Bomb by Andrew Quartermain 2015-05-01T22:54:00

Very nice looking entry :) I think the premise, mechanic and art style play nicely together for an effective experience.

Bell of Souls by akirassasin 2015-05-02T01:47:00

Rather innovative idea and interesting setting. The execution is very minimalistic and I think it could use a bit better indicators on what is actually happening, but definitely interesting little game.

Druid of the Moon by kmasiulis 2015-04-24T18:13:00

Obviously it is not quite done, but you can walk right and what not, so there's that :D

A Game of Drones by TD5 2015-04-24T21:01:00

Interesting entry. Took me a while to get it working before I realized pasting the sample program in the textarea adds whitespace at line endings, which makes the execution fail.

So maybe trim your input and it is bit easier to get into.
Extra points for the theme approriate gfx :)

Nallies Party by agilejoshua 2015-04-24T18:39:00

It is a very brief game. I noticed that when the screen transition happens the character stops moving towards the mouse, so there's probably a bug worth fixing :)

The characters are pretty original and game is winnable, so good job.

Dreamscape by Peach Pie Productions 2015-04-28T20:45:00

Very solid entry! It looks and sounds very polished, and you've managed to make the mechanics intuitive without much text explanation. Very good!
The only downside I can see is that the game runs a bit slow and also for me the web version suddenly just booted back to the main menu for no apparent reason(maybe I died?).

All in all very nice entry and one of the most complete I've played, despite some technical problems :)

Cosmo's Apprentice by Gametery 2015-04-21T18:27:00

There's a certain era of 90s platformer, this game instantly reminds me of. The graphics, the FM-style music and gameplay could be from an obscure SNES game, which is a compliment :)

Game is quite punishingly hard, but the controls do work really well. The only thing I wish for really is that there would be more exploration as the jetpack mechanic is very suited for trying to find new things.

Very nice!

Discord Seeder by ztiromoritz 2015-05-02T17:24:00

Interesting mechanic with strong visual & audio feedback, which is very nice design.

The Uke Guy by FeniX 2015-04-28T22:10:00

Nice idea and clearly you wanted to make a bit deeper rhythm system. One issue though is that this game is awfully confusing with a non-US keyboard like mine :D

Escape The Killer by Nomys_Tempar 2015-04-26T14:50:00

Text adventures come down to the writing, and I think there's a few issus here for me. I think I personally would prefer a bit shorter blobs of text, so there's enough time to take in the setting etc. Secondly it seems there is an awful lot of exposition once things get going.

Also it would've been nice to have at least some background colors adjusted or something to give it a bit more personality :)

Kitty Wings - html5 web- by Buko-Studios 2015-05-09T00:24:00

Nice looking game that has a couple of execution issues with the mechanic :) 1) most of the time when you're in the air you can't see the ground which leads to a lot of unlucky death with enemies/pits. 2) the indicator for when an enemy has been neutralized is not quite strong enough, so sometimes you run into enemies thinking that you have killed them, but have not.

Graphically it is really nice and the meter tells you very clearly what is going on, so that's very good :)

Android Runner by @JohnNWFS by johnnwfs 2015-05-03T01:15:00

A bit simplistic when it comes to gameplay, but I like the music and the basic concept :)

Peka vs Beaver by quyse 2015-05-01T21:12:00

I like the basic concept, it is very simple but I see a lot of things that could be done with it. Visually the game communicates very clearly and the camera controls are a nice bonus.

What I really missed was any kind of sound though :)

Eurovision: world domination through the power of song by Tijn 2015-04-22T18:21:00

This was so much fun :D Also very realistic since the great nation of Finland netted something like 12 points all put together!

Deadly Tiles by Thoran 2015-05-01T23:46:00

Very hard game. The animations look nice and there is nothing wrong with the fundamentals, but the instant onehit nature of the game makes it a bit less appealing than it should be :)

Soul Of The Forest by Multiplexor 2015-04-24T19:20:00

Very impressive! The weapon has a great feel to it and the design really makes you use it in very interesting ways :)

Graphics look super nice and the background music is fitting and suspenful.

Really impressive work in terms of overall design, supported by wonderful execution.

Crossy Hell by RoryD 2015-05-01T19:27:00

The parody premise is interesting and it helps that the game visually resembles the reference a lot :) The gameplay could be tuned a bit with better indicators on where the boxes will land, and I experienced some performance hiccups on the webgl version, but otherwise everything looks and sounds fine :)

A Way Out by Jakob37 2015-04-23T19:23:00

Typing is nothing new in itself, but this one has really cool mood and style to it :) Really enjoyed how the words, music and visuals fit together.

Bottle Toss by RedSorrel 2015-04-28T20:33:00

I liked the controls a lot, I think they'd be a good basis for a longer game. Playwise only thing that bothered me was a lack of direction indicator for the player, which resulted in me throwing bottles in the wrong directions.

Graphics and sound are also nice, so even though the game is very short, there is nothing wrong with the fundamentals here :)

Terraforming Blues by jordinuco 2015-04-26T15:12:00

Played the web version. Game is really hard, but I think there is potential in the mechanic at least :)

Exploding cat vs zombie by Sevauk 2015-04-24T19:09:00

a 2d zombie rush game that works well :) I found it a bit weird that while you aim with the mouse, shooting is bound on spacebar (where as I'd expect a mouse button).

I think there's also room for improvement with the sfx and music to better suit the "feel" of the game :)

Luigi - Mastering Energy by ForsakenLlamas 2015-04-24T20:54:00

Interesting concet, took me a while to understand what I was supposed to do. I think the mechanic has a lot of potential though and it has been realized very well with the visuals.

You are the carré by thedarknightdu78 2015-05-05T17:13:00

The mechanic is nice, but the controls are perhaps a bit fiddly. Also on the second level it is possible to simply fall off the level and then nothing happens :D

The music is fun and the look of the game is great.

A Last Mole King's Lullaby by NoxiiStudio 2015-04-26T15:53:00

Very hard game. Also first play I got stuck in a pit almost instantly :D
I like the notes as weapon, and you've done very ambitious work with the audio and voiceover.

AKIMBO by gnx 2015-04-22T18:47:00

Damn, that was actually a bug ( += operator instead of = ).
Thank you for spotting it, I fixed it for any future players :)

A weapon for our freedom by polegar 2015-04-21T18:07:00

Nice game for a first try. I really got interested reading the description and your inspiration for this game.

Controls are a bit unusual as they have a fair bit of "startup" to them, but I managed to beat the game after a couple of tries.

The self-recorded sounds were also a nice bonus :)

LD42 — Running out of space

Debris Trail by chromableedstudios 2020-04-21T15:00:54Z

Very strange and difficult game. However I had a lot of fun trying out different strategies to get even a little bit further! Definitely very original.

LD46 — Keep it alive

DJ Hamster by blinry 2020-04-22T22:39:46Z

Very unique concept. Difficult to get hang of at first, but I was able to get it by reading some of the comments. Nice work and nice tunes!

Alchemist by Jacksendary 2020-04-22T22:54:50Z

Nice presentation and functional crafting mechanics. Nice music too.

Keep the Tree Alive by g12345 2020-04-22T23:27:05Z

Cool art style and challenging, but rewarding gameplay. It also ties in with the theme in a very nice way!

Sharkbait by Jimbly 2020-04-25T23:09:18Z

Graphics are really nice and all the characters have a lot of personality to them, great job on that! The mechanic is interesting, but the pace of the game could be a bit faster for me. However technically and visually very impressive job that you could definitely work on refining some more!

Cat Ball by pabulum 2020-04-22T21:56:34Z

Really fun game! Tragically I played it on the mac trackpad  so I got an extra challenge. It shows though that the mechanic and levels are finely tuned and the music sets just the right atmosphere. I liked it a lot :)

Saving Emperor's Chick by Calcitherin 2020-04-28T11:44:52Z

Very nice art style. Gameplay is short and the mechanic is pretty punishing. I think with some polishing this could be a great little game :)

Tamagotchi Mastermind by Khud0 2020-04-21T20:48:01Z

Cool and somewhat creepy concept executed very well! Visuals are especially nice with everything looking very polished and with cool little animations. Similarly the music is surprising, but in a really pleasing way, and really adds a lot to the overall mood. Nice work!

Keep Your Town Alive! by CodeChomper 2020-04-21T21:47:40Z

Nice, solidly made game. There is something about isometric graphics like this that just makes you at ease. The UI texts are quite small if improvement ideas are being considered :)

Wayward by ColeSlaughter 2020-04-21T14:37:24Z

Great atmosphere with so many little details in both visuals and sound. This game transported me somewhere else for a moment, and for that I commend the team :)

Flame Guardian by KungKras 2020-04-21T21:21:49Z

I really like the original take on the 2.5D art style. It shows a lot of work went into the different assets and they create a world that is interesting to explore. Also the music is understated butd thoughtful, which is a great thing. The controls are a bit fiddly and the water seems extremely deadly :D

You Live Like This? by LurkinMcClerkin 2020-04-21T15:08:17Z

Fun game! Especially love the sound effects work, which you clearly put a lot of work into. The graphics recall classic adventure games and it feels like a world that would be fun to explore more :)

Pandamonium by KP_CFTSZ 2020-04-21T22:31:23Z

Gorgeous pixel art in a fun game! I particularly love the eating mechanics: smashing space bar to eat bamboo :D. Also humor points went to top with the seemingly neverending toilet flush sample.

Keepin' It Charged by kubs 2020-04-23T16:14:58Z

Wow, very impressive and complete entry for a jam! Controls feel quite polished and the game is easy and fun to play. Really nice job.

Kipthulhulhive! by Bruce 2020-04-23T14:31:28Z

Short but sweet! Graphics and audio are great, and the humorous writing works out (hopefully it can be that way in the final game too). I was only a little dissapointed when the game said it will self-destruct and nothing happened :)

Blossom Blaster by skitzogamer 2020-04-22T23:05:06Z

Simple game, but so many enjoyable details. There is something very fun about both the graphics and sound in this game. Absolutely love the enemies with headbands carrying water bottles :D I hope you return to this "world" in some future entry!

My inners are ours by AguaHervida 2020-04-28T13:10:11Z

Fun concept! I really like art style and there's a lot of variety in the enemy designs. Perhaps the keyboard layout could be given some thought for faster gameplay, and also the game would really benefit from some audio (at least I couldn't hear any?).

Dungeon of Robots by GullynGames 2020-04-21T14:46:24Z

Always time for a topdown shooter! It is pretty tough and there are a lot of enemies, but everything works and the companion robot could be developed into more interesting mechanics.

Seven Nights by bigwhiteshogun 2020-04-23T14:39:53Z

Gorgeous pixel art and lovely music! Crafting isn't my thing, and I could've used a bit of guidance for what to do in the game. However it looks and feels really great so I think it is well worth working at more :)

Program has stopped working by Alexander Wayne 2020-04-25T22:06:54Z

I remember some of these viruses! Visuals are really smooth and striking! Gameplay lacks a bit in feedback in terms of knowing when you're hitting enemies and they're hitting you. Also audio would've done a lot for this game. Good effort!

a funeral. by otterdisgrace 2020-04-21T23:20:23Z

Minimalistic gameplay, but it looks good and there is a mood about it.

Cacophony: The Ballad of the Celestial Goblin-King by Renikor 2020-04-21T20:22:40Z

Classic dungeon crawling! Lots of nice work from the sprite art to the functional mechanics and large world. I think some of the inventory management is a bit complicated (especially in the small window) and it would be great if holding down directional keys would make you move constantly. Nice job though :)

Live, breathe, beneath by t3ch 2020-04-21T14:39:55Z

Don't worry about it too much. Not everything works out the first time, and there'll be many more jams to come!

Save Your Wife! by Sparsha Dhar 2020-04-21T14:58:49Z

The game is strange and difficult, but really fascinating! Also the graphics are very nice and the wife tossing -mechanic is really fun.

Fire is Friend by Joe Chatfield 2020-04-22T22:27:05Z

Visuals and audio are really nice! It is a bit difficult to make sense of the game at first, but I think there's a lot of fun ideas going on here and using particles with traditional platforming is very interesting and unique.

A Dark Dungeon by konkar 2020-04-28T10:20:32Z

Nice work with the visuals and the impressive variety of enemies! I think the mechanic is really interesting and I love the fast pace of the game, but the facing/shooting takes a bit of getting used to. Also would've really loved some sounds/audio to go with the murky depths of the dungeon :)

Save the Bird! by rickzyYT 2020-04-23T20:03:46Z

Leap of faith - the game :D Yeah the platforming is very brutal, but I kind of enjoyed figuring out the levels still. I think there's everything here for a good platforming game, but you could adjust the balance of unfairness a bit if you want.

Cryogen by Halberd 2020-04-23T14:23:51Z

Impressive amount of work with assets and the level design! On a side note the gun sfx and some of the monster grunting really remind me of Duke 3d :sunglasses:

Karot Fetus by Dawide 2020-04-21T13:54:37Z

Very impressive entry! I love the art style and general mood of the world (reminds of Cave Story!). Sound design is also top notch and makes the game feel really complete. I think gameplay wise there could've been some sort of additional element to spice it up, but as it is the purpose of the game is very clear and easy to understand :)

Save the torch! by eduardogacn 2020-04-28T10:27:32Z

Really nice job! Impressive and detailed visuals that remind of me of Shantae games a lot :) Music is also absolutely great and I like how the unassuming tune keeps building up to new places while it loops. Mechanic is a lot of fun and the throw arcs, speed of the enemies etc. all feel finely adjusted. One of the better entries I've played!

Please! Keep me alive by Guntainment 2020-04-21T18:28:44Z

A very full-featured survival game considering the time constraints! Some of the initial crafting requirements could be lowered to make the game a bit more accessible from the start. Also I was killed by a bat.

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Looty Loop by BitOfGold 2020-10-06T20:47:54Z

I really enjoyed this one! The aesthetic is so cool, I would want to play a more expansive game with visuals and a mood like this :)

Ferrovia Folle (Crazy Railway) by Marco Stagni 2020-10-05T22:15:31Z

Nice graphics. Strangely fun to play, it's like a lost game from windows 95 :)

Looptober by Kornel 2020-10-06T09:31:09Z

Wow this was impressive! Reminded of Pikmin and Paper Mario. Love the mix of 2d and 3d, the voice acting is also a really nice touch! Very well done!

Get the Pizza! 🍕 by gnx 2020-10-05T21:11:35Z

@risingsunz Thanks for playing! The intended mechanic is to have to line yourself up with walls, but I guess it could be better communicated :)

Pufferfish Panic : Proliferating Pressure by Teanan 2020-10-06T14:53:00Z

Nice technology stack! Graphics and audio are very nice.

Interesting theme and nice looking visuals.

Hall of Repeat by Monkosum 2020-10-10T13:40:53Z

Fun game to play! I think the enemy bullets could be a bit brighter to stand out from the floor color, but otherwise really nice job :)

Meth'a Loop by TeiNRee 2020-10-06T20:33:07Z

The mechanics were a bit confusing at first, but the presentation is killer. The visuals and audio are really great. It's like a weird mashup of hotline miami and some railway tycoon game :D
