Fun theme and unique mechanics, I like it :D
Very strong and emotional. Well done.
Tons of style, good game design and humor. Really a good job :D
It brings back to mind the times when the ability to press buttons rapidly was part of the skillset of every video game player. Autofire is for lazy newbies that didn't endure the old times! :P
Thanks for the big nostalgic trip :°)
Nice narrative experiment. Don't apologize so much, the writing is good and feels really emotional :)
Not strictly a video game, but I think that it is worth "playing"... call it interactive story or video game, "a rose by any other name would smell as sweet" :D
First of all, thanks for playing :D
I'll try to explain why I've decided to use cursor keys instead of WASD and why the game has no sound.
WASD has some problems with some keyboards (AZERTY keyboards and Dvorak). I've used cursor keys because I didn't have the time to deal with these issues. Moreover, they are the only keys used in the game besides the mouse... so i think that is not that unconfortable.
About sound... I really love well done music and sound effects in video games. Sound and music are really important for immersion and mood.
I had two choices for audio: record sounds myself or use some self-made retro videogame sounds. I didn't have enough time or resources for the first solution (firearms sounds are kinda rare :D) and I didn't feel that retro sound effects would fit the mood of the game.
Moreover I'm really unexperienced with audio and music in general, is something I need to work on in the future.
Yes, my biggest regret is about content actually. I'd like to let the character evolve getting more knowledge of itself, both physically (new moves) and psychologically (maybe it's not only a rampaging brute?). Too bad I didn't manage to do this in the deadline :\
Anyway, thanks for playing and sharing your thoughts!
@drakekin: I think I know what's wrong, a friend of mine playing for the first time had the same "problem". You are supposed to move with the cursors keys and use the mouse click as an attack, not just moving by clicking :)
@cgmorton: I lol'd at the last sentence, above all because I know that it's NOT a joke XD
Thanks for the good words anyway :)
@Timo: Yes, some sort of hopping toad-like creature. It may sound weird (and it is), but is some sort of reference that will become clear if I will develop the story further. At this stage of the story is all quite unclear because the protagonist himself doesn't know what is happening to him. There are just some clues around which probably are not enough to get the full picture (or may be badly depicted by me).
Anyway, I think I'll do a post-LD version. Surely won't happen during these 3 weeks of judging, I would feel it like trying to influence people with something that doesn't belong to the LD challenge.
Thanks everyone for playing, it's something that somehow amazes me :D
I really like the dancers animations, the art is simple yet very nice and fun :D
Damn, the time is so short! Besides what is missing, it feels cool and the mechanics are nice! Good job!
Nice gameplay concept, funny and challenging!
Interesting concept and fun gameplay :D
I really like how music, pixel art, story and gameplay blend together. Good job guys!
The web version has a problem with right click... it's playable but right clicking brings up the context menu.
Good art and smooth mobile oriented gameplay. Good job!
Good job with the graphics, I like it!
Simple but funny and well done, nice! :D
Clickclickclick... can't stop :D
A good idea, turning a clicker/incremental game into a proper game with a goal. Nice job :)
Very original and fun gameplay! Well done!
Collisions seem a bit off, the knight got sucked in the fence and went off screen... I've played Java8 version on Windows 8.1
Besides that, I really like the style and the insane amount of cuteness :D
Very fun, nice concept, nice pixel art, good level design. Good job! :D
