LD32 — An Unconventional Weapon

RELIC by CptDustmite 2015-04-20T05:39:00

That was stunningly beautiful. The game felt like a prelude for an epic space odyssey, and I'm now sad that it's over. I really enjoyed the dialog as well as the humor. Awesome stuff!

Duck Attack by ehtd 2015-04-27T05:58:00

That was pretty fun. I liked the charming graphics as well as the simple controls. Kudos!

Umbrella Defender by Almost 2015-04-30T05:42:00

Huh, that was a lot more fun than it initially appeared. I loved the difficulty ramp as well. It was a very satisfying experience. I think being able to keep track of some kind of a high score might be fun too. Great job!

Ice Story ( koori monogatari 氷物語 ) by Christina Antoinette Neofotistou 2015-04-27T00:25:00

It definitely has the charm of those Japanese arcade games back from the 90's. It was as if I had discovered an SNES gem. Not only is it beautifully crafted with cute music, it was also quite fun to play. Congrats on creating such a finely polished game!

TeleMage by ProjectX593 2015-04-20T04:57:00

That was really really fun. It took me a few tries for the mechanics to click for me, but once I started to exploit the enemy movements it became super enjoyable. Great stuff.

Squirrel Man, nuts! by kunzbe 2015-04-26T22:41:00

I liked the idea a lot. Some frustrations aside, I think the mechanic was solid. Surprisingly addictive as well. Kudos!

Nasal Defense Force 2033 by ShuddaHaddaLottaFun 2015-04-30T05:49:00

Ha, that was hilarious! I enjoyed the nostril clearing journey. Once I got to the brain I was a little lost as to what I'm supposed to do, but I think I was able to affect different parts of the brain by picking at it. At one point, the screen turned black and white LOL. Kudos!

yoyoMadness by Tapisama 2015-04-20T16:59:00

Yay, a fellow yo-yo entry! It was really satisfying beating the enemies to bloody pulp using the yo-yo almost as a pendulum. I didn't realize that I could launch the additional yo-yo with my right mouse button on my first try, but that was just me failing to read the description before playing. Awesome stuff!

Billy McMath Solves Problems by Manky 2015-04-20T05:54:00

That was outrageous!!! I loved the cringe-inducing (in a good way) voice acting as well as the hilarious drawings. Awesome!

Special Agent by guoboism 2015-04-21T01:15:00

That was really funny and clever! It appeared as an action game but it was actually a delightful puzzle game. A great take on the theme. Awesome job!

Rare Drop by Artylo 2015-04-20T18:38:00

A fun and addictive game. I think you've captured the spirit of these loot-drive RPG games (such as Diablo) really well. It was a fun 10 minute clickfest. Awesome!

CurseMan by sbarrio 2015-04-29T05:31:00

A fun entry! I only wish the curses would be more varied. Loved the concept.

AxeShip by n8 2015-04-21T01:10:00

This game is hard! I really like the concept behind the axe wielding spaceship. Maybe having a life counter instead of insta-death may prove to be super fun. Kudos.

Just another sketch on the wall by RevelBase 2015-04-26T23:02:00

Beautiful game! Simply stunning. Hard to believe how great is looks given the time constraint.

ForgeCraft by Stals 2015-05-01T05:33:00

Fantastic game. Everything from the concept to the execution was simply extraordinary, especially given the LD time frame. My favorite part is the amount of polish this game proudly displays. This game gets the highest score from me.

Sevastopol by GravityScore 2015-04-20T05:24:00

Fantastic atmosphere! I really like the restrained, minimalist approach to your design choices. One thing I personally felt was slightly awkward was the motion control. I feel that it may have been better to map the motions to respond to the direction that the character is facing, as opposed to the 4 compass directions. Kudos.

Revenge of the Clones by BraindeadGeo 2015-04-20T06:01:00

Dude that was whack... and I loved it.

Weapon Regulator by drludos 2015-05-03T07:29:00

Damn fine game. I really like the unique approach you took in designing the game mechanics. Really creative. I also enjoyed the decision to keep the player out of the danger zone in the beginning of the game and easing the players in. Really fantastic stuff!

Drums of the Dead by plams 2015-04-20T17:09:00

Ha, that was really fun. Hearing the instruments die down as the band members get devoured is a nice touch. I wish the rhythm bars are a little more generous with timing, but only because I suck at these. Fun stuff!

The Day of BEEkoning by ETKWorks 2015-04-21T01:00:00

That was pretty fun. I liked having to juggle the two different group of bees. The fact that newly spawned bees follow you arrow also made for an interesting mechanic, and helped me harvest quicker. The graphics and sounds were enjoyable as well.

A Knife Made Of Whispers by managore 2015-04-27T06:23:00

Beautiful game! Razor sharp innovation as always.

Words Are My Weapons by Adam Gould 2015-04-20T17:57:00

I really liked the concept behind the game. I think you had a lot of interesting ideas here as well. I do wish the game could have been more about solving puzzles and combining the words together cleverly, but I didn't mind the platforming action either. I see a lot of potential for this idea. Keep it up!

ERR by LukeZaz 2015-04-29T03:06:00

I think the concept has a lot of potential to be a very fun game. I liked the unique approach to the ability cooldown, forcing you to run around instead of standing still and killing everything. I think the difficulty curve could be made steeper for a less repetitive feel, and perhaps more enemy types could have made things more interesting. Good job!

Asteroid Escape by Wevel 2015-04-20T17:36:00

The controls get a little frustrating, and I'm not always sure what I'm purchasing when I click on the green pluses. But I think the potential is there for a fun game. I did enjoy eventually clearing out enough asteroids and blasting through the space. Kudos!

KimmyJong by EthanWebster 2015-04-20T17:43:00

The game kind of drags on, and I had to give up when I reached what I believe was the 5th stage. It's a shame because I really wanted to see where the story lead to. It would be interesting to introduce new enemies or mechanics to keep the game from getting repetitive. Kudos!

Absorption Demo by smagee 2015-04-20T17:29:00

dll is missing :( The game won't run

Maggie by Bergara 2015-04-26T23:48:00

Is the HTML game embedded on this page the submission version or post-comp version?

Gun Gun Evolution by Indiestry 2015-04-22T06:18:00

I really liked it. The action is really satisfying, and the ridiculous power-ups make each level very exciting. I'm glad that you implemented the skip-level feature (had to rely on it a few times). The game reminded me of both Teleglitch and Hotline Miami, but I'm not calling your game derivative. They're great games to take inspiration from, and I do think you combined the two games in a really fun way. Great job!

Trap For Ants by wellingtonbecker 2015-04-26T23:19:00

I got to 125 on the first play and turned it off a bit disappointed that no other enemy types or difficulty increase would happen. But other than that, a fun game with a lot of potential. I, for one, really enjoy the magnifying glass effect. Kudos!

Mellowball by Hatsome 2015-04-20T17:26:00

A neat little game that was charming to look at and satisfying to play. The game is great in its simplicity, and I liked that it does get pretty tough to achieve high scores. (I only got to 2000) There is a bug that lets the ball go through the wall at times and makes it disappear, leaving the main character vulnerable and lonely :(

Dye by solarexplorer 2015-04-27T06:04:00

I love narrative driven games, but I thought your game could benefit from a slightly more interactivity. I enjoyed what you've attempted here though. Keep up the good job!

The Pen is Mightier than the Sword by MysteryMeat 2015-04-28T04:21:00

I think the game could have been more enjoyable with just a few tweaks. One being an implementation of a 'Play Again' button, and the second being a clearer hit box. I thought the sound design was pretty excellent. Fits well into the literary theme. Kudos!

Crystalline by TheMeorch 2015-04-22T06:23:00

Whoa. That was really amazing. What an unexpected treat. I thought your puzzles were simply brilliant. Fantastic way to tie in the theme as well. Brilliant!

Lost Penguin by Darkgoon 2015-04-26T23:08:00

I did enjoy the puzzle behind killing the boss, but the difficulty was a little bit too high for me. I just couldn't afford to replay after the 20th or so times. I had a fun time though. Good job!

Monochromatic Wonderland! by laxeot 2015-04-22T06:49:00

Nice. I think this might be a really fun game with a little bit of polish. The powers are very unique and interesting (aside from purple). I also found the music to be very intriguing and well fitting. Awesome stuff!

An Unconventional Weapon by Rulrite 2015-04-26T23:43:00

Ouch, I did not see that coming. Great fun entry. I liked how satisfying it felt to convert the gloomies into happies. Seeing the background change with every pedestrian was also very fun. Great job!

Wired In by hardband 2015-04-26T23:32:00

I am glad you've put in the non-epilepsy mode. I just have a hard time figuring out why the screenblink mode is the default recommended way to play. Anyways, I enjoyed the gameplay very much. With a little bit of polish, I can see it being a success on the mobile platform as well. Kudos.

RED CARD by DasSnipez 2015-04-27T00:06:00

As a soccer player myself, it was fun picturing all the scum referees as they went down to my shots. Fun high-score game. Kudos!

AETerno: Warrior of Light by Exolun 2015-05-01T05:06:00

That was pretty fun! I did enjoy the enemy variation as well as the somewhat unorthodox gameplay of 'push out to kill'. The game was a bit easy in that I was able to win on my second attempt, but it was a very satisfying experience. Kudos!

Giant Spiky Ball of Death by RobotHoboDanceParty 2015-04-20T05:45:00

I had a blast playing this game. I loved the simplicity of mechanics as well as the multiple enemy variations. Really fun stuff!

Magnets & Lasers by Dustician 2015-04-20T04:32:00

A seemingly simple game that turned out to be very fun and rewarding. My only suggestion would be for you to adopt different graphics for the magnets to differentiate when they're on / off. Kudos.

Bird Quest by Mantlair 2015-04-20T05:03:00

Contrary to what the screenshots suggested, the game proved to be charming and enjoyable. The bird struggles a bit with narrow corridors, but it was overall a solid fun experience.

Lunar Combat by Nuclear Mosquito 2015-04-20T18:45:00

Huh, that was a pretty fun game. It took me back to all those 1-on-1 multiplayer games that I used to play with friends back in 2000s. It was easy to pick up and have fun playing. Great music as well. Kudos.

Death By Pointer by Squarlboy 2015-04-27T00:00:00

That was more fun than it initially appeared to be! It was surprisingly satisfying to hear the tick as the stickmen went down to my pointy cursor. It would be great to see more variations and elements introduced to this game. Kudos.

Floyd the Pufferfish: Slayer of Squid by killako 2015-05-01T05:12:00

That was very enjoyable. I could see this game becoming successful on a mobile platform as well. Great job!

Chef Adventure by nguyenmv2 2015-04-30T05:38:00

There seems to be some critical bugs with the game. Like... unpredictable and completely game-crashing.

Night Light by Team MAC 2015-04-26T23:29:00

Apparently a rat killed me even though I was outside of the building and the rat was inside! Other than the small bug, I did enjoy the atmosphere you've managed o create. Kudos.

Precipitation Predicament by Xenfare 2015-04-27T05:25:00

I enjoyed the water splashing idea a lot. Very good take on the theme. Kudos!

Burd Turd by thumbgarden 2015-04-20T18:01:00

A fun concept. It wasn't inherently clear at first what the 'Hit This' color suggested, but it was pretty fun once I figured everything out. I always enjoy twists on existing gaming concepts, and I think this was a pretty good one at that. Great use of the theme too. Kudos.

Insomnia by java the hutt 2015-04-28T04:15:00

I'm not quite sure what I'm shooting at. What do the negative scores mean?

Labyrinth: The Watering by Shared 2015-04-20T16:52:00

Just as an FYI, Chrome browser labels your game file as 'malicious' and force removes your game after download.

Astro-Tow by binarycoder 2015-04-20T17:47:00

I liked the physics based gameplay and the ease of controls. I also appreciated the regenerating shield system, otherwise it could have been frustrating to play without trying to scratch anything. The gameplay isn't the most interesting yet, but I think the idea has a lot of potential. Great entry!
