Too many garbage too close with each other, and there is a delay before you can shoot the garbage out, it limits the player's skill.
I love Miami Hotline too! This game really got that feeling! It is really hard work to polish to such degree in a compo!

In this game you reach a target place and then the island would rise a bit from water.
Control scheme, left and right to move left and right, double tap to jump to move in that direction.
As ld34 entry, this game explores (successfully) adding more action under the two-button-limitation.
It also use the grow theme uniquely with terrain gradually emerge from water generating more gameplay (or change existing gameplay).

The graphics is really nice, and beyond "looks nice", the visual elements are used in a innovative way. It feels like you are experimenting in the layer of interactive graphics.
In game jam, we make game that looks humble, and games that looks nice, even games looks like commercial product. But this game looks ultra-beautiful while remaining indie.
Because you are creating visual styles, rather than just borrowing or copying.
Two or three days, no one can walk very far. But it's obvious that you took your unique path.
Mode
Along with the audios, you bring me into a world that is really hard to describe. Underneath the graphics and sound, you build an emotion. Game is but an emotion generator.
In each level, the emotion shifts a little. And the best part of this game is how the emotions passes through the wall of logic, is how these abstract signals triggers the our brain to feel.
Rules and Goals
Have you ever played "Everyday Shooter"? Your game is same with that because you are both abstract themed. But even though everything is abstract, but player do need to understand the relative reason inside the game. The player always needs to know the goals and how to reach the goal.
If you decided to have them explore and understand these themselves, you have to be more carefully. You must rely on your audio, visual, animation, changed of mood, screen-fx to express if he did a good thing or bad thing.
You have to inform the player when the level progresses, when the game is in deadlock.
You have to express the logic through interaction. And the player would feel great if they get the hidden message.

A lovely :dog: puppy game, 3D platform jump, little puzzle, lots of jumps. This game is very Gao Ming.

This game is more complex and more fun than it looks.
Apart from finding the spaceship parts, you will also find power-up that allows you to explore in larger regions.
"Shoe" that make you jump hight, "田" allows you enter cold place, etc. And evetually you can fly.
Also, there are deisgns like "push stone to hold the door swtich", and "crack in the wall that indicate a hidden pass"
The level design is very good work, also the world circles from left and right, as it is indeed a "planet".
Just played a puppy game , and here comes a cat game...
It is really fun to play as a cat hiding against master. The cats modeling, the animation, the voice acting is really cool! Also, it is really nice making a game reflecting the real life.
Problems: Wide screen had UI mis-layout
The game is a strategy game about maintaining a hp> 0 and boredness < max state. You choose events for what player encounters.
You need to make the player upgrade / level up to fight stronger enemies and thus be less bored.
WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THE GAME, IS IT REMINDS ME THE FEELING OF ACTUALLY MAKING A GAME. DESIGNING FOR PLAYER EXPERIENCE. And sometimes it is a matter of strategy and calculation.
BTW The game can also be a decent entry for that "Control the game not player " theme.

Good pixel art! Action is limited when carry too much fits the theme. But it also makes game-play depressing.

Very good game! The fun part of the game is running on surface of a tiny cubic planet. This is really interesting! As game progress there are more and more white spider to avoid. The more the worse.
The best thing I love this entry is how it embed the little story into the game: Received a gift of VR device > then "game" really starts > virtual friends and stuff appears. All very smooth!

Game about war over fans. The more popular you are the fans you get and then your army get bigger. I think this angle is good. But:
1 When I actual play the game, the fans just get converted time to time, they wont get killed or disappear, so it is really hard to see some progress. Controlling them does not seem to be a very big advantage, as they will be converted very quickly.
2 I dont see how "the more you have, it is the worse"
Nice strategy game but:
I reach 600/600 happiness but 100% happiness still not completed. Where is the 3rd girl in cover?
The ending make jokes about reality.

The box collider size for the spike is bigger than a square, which is a bug. I noticed that many times. But during the jam it was always in a hurry. You have almost talk about everything/bug this game has. I really thank you for all these.
+1 as the game is realistic themed and showing bits of truth in real life +1 as the author is very skilled to convert "strange" concept into playable even fun game mechanics

Man, I really this game! Could be the best "Crazy fans" type entry (I played). The mode is good!
The best part I like, is how you treat the audiences like particles. Seeing the crazy fans be blown away is really funny. I hope there could be more "physically based method" for defence like "Orc must die"
Like: Super Force field that attacts or push away, teleport them to another place....
Amazing job drawing all these graphics during the jam! Even with the cartoonist lined style, you still managed to deliver a sense of horror. The words are well written. But I would complain about the font size of the letters.

I like Rick and Morty too. But I just dont get the game. The hint in the first screen is confusing. Am I supposed to look for a specific image like with "morty at left, no holding bottle" or what?
I really like what you did in this game, the ideas, the visual and the feel.
When I play, I hoped that all the channels could affect each other and forms some kind of link.
Since this game is about mental status, maybe in the eyes of special people, the channels of a TV could just link up in a weird way. From CNN news to a cartoon, to tv series and old fashioned commercials, they are interlinked somehow, which forms a unique setting of world.
To be more specific, a female character in a movie could be sad because of the news in the next channel; a boy wants to cut open sth but finds no tools, yet there is a Knife commercials in another channel; a cartoon frog sit under the sewage, but the sewage could be also in another channel, but in different visual style and mood.
Bad English, I hope you get my point..
There are many entries using "weight as burden" interpretation in this jam. But slowing down player usually make the game depressing. But for horror games, such design is good, though.
Damn good entry. The mechanic fits the theme very well. The graphics is beautiful and game-play is well polished. Really good job!

Not bad. Though simple, the game is complete as a top-down zombie shooter.
Suggestion: one common way to make simple game more fun is to have "collect coin and buy upgrade" system.
Maybe you allow player upgrade the reload time bullet damage.
Another thing that could improve the game design is "adding some highlight", like the big dot in pac-man, or the bombs in flight shooters. In your case, maybe a grande to kill all the zombies in screen. On such design is enough to have the player "hoping " during the more usual game-play.

Quite surprised to see a nice puzzle design around the common music game mechanic! Both the game design and art style is well done! The theme is interpreted as "a loop of time/music clip".
But since the game require all the notes to be done perfectly to pass a level, the rest of a puzzle is meaningless after any mistake. Restart or direct control of the progress bar will make the experience much better.
Nice to see a programming game! Agreed with Zachary Barbanell that it is interesting to edit the programming while it's running. The theme is interpreted as "the looping excution of program", which in fact, is fundamental for all video games...
Though simple game yet with a very grand point of view. Theme is used as "the loop of civilization". The most dramatic scene is the time goes back to the very beginning when I hit a nuclear bomb(?) in the later part of the game.
A fantastic combination with a lovely art style and poopy mechainc! Though simple, but the game create a layer of strategic gameplay around poop management: how to make all sheep poop at one place for cleaning efficency yet if not cleaned soon enough, that poop site could kill a sheep instantly. The theme is interpreted as "running along a looped path".
Good idea but the lava flood too much to leave it any strategy room when choose where to build blocker, because every where need blocking. It would be very nice to have elemenets like nature hills to make scene more complex. Also, if I can select which people onboard first can also increase strategy depth(by clicking on building tiles directly?) Good work!
Cool idea, but too hard,too tight. Sometimes I wonder if a solution is possible, yet it is real time and pause time is even limited. I wish the game can be more relax. Good work!

@scsc Thanks for you review! I am glad you can enjoy from the game. I have to say, you have out-played the game... I haven't designed that far. I merely thought about how the game can ends like seperate countries into islands or let one country take over the rest. Maybe in the future version. Thanks for your feedback about actual playing experience and suggestion. I will take into account for next update. Some actions will change zone status permenently and some will just cast "temporary effect", which always leaves a icon on the zone with "X turns" in zone hover panel, but the description on card should be more clearified.
For tips on the development side, I really can't say such game require any specific technology rather than a lot of basic coding utilities, like Excel importer, dynamic value (a value wrapped with modifiers to allow temporary modifications) and simple grid algorithms(finding nerighbours etc). As a turns based game, compared to action game, in fact, is a lot more easy to code, as everything is predictable. Most of the time I was designing to make the econimic model in game to be simpler and easier to understand. And how to present the data, as it seems is still has room for improve.
Unity doesnt offer too much, but you sure can find solutions in the asset store. I had been using Unity for job for more than 5 years now, I have many wishes for Unity as well. But I really dont expect too much for it.
Lastly, this wont be opensourced, and I plan to work on it to be a real commercial game later, hopefully.
I thought is a simple game but the prejectory path of moon and accelerator works in physics which adds a lot of depth based on math. I think it would be nice to slow down that pace and allows player carefully plan the moon path. Great work!

I aggree with some comments that the rules are bit hard to read. But the game is good design:
you face more and more cards on deck you try to use dice to fill the demand of cards you can use any dice without rolling at all (use them as it is) but as demands(box) are growing, you have to roll dices to change them into possible needed numbers yet once all the rolled dices add up to 50 the game instantly end
The part I like is the mechanism of how card demands dices, with range/evenodd/certain number Also the potential of perplan early in the game (prepare a balance group dice early) And the best part, every strategy is masked with randomness The distribution of dices is puzzle(certian) combined with random(uncertainty)

The tutorial did not tell my how to get the resources, most action can not operate becuase of lack of resources. A how-to-play is need to enjoy the game.

How the water goes higher that cause the lose of land is really interesting. The choosing of landing spot is also tactical, I hope the game can be slower to have more time to evaluate the map which can have more depth in strategy.
This is a neat little boss fighting game. Though simple, but very complete!
