I liked the whole atmosphere of the game and it's presentation.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD45 → Nothing in Room

I liked the whole atmosphere of the game and it's presentation.
Can you make a html 5 version also, if you used unity or other supported engine
What a great game! You illustrated your point so well with the mechanics. The moment when I found out that I could go back to the 3D room, I immediately realize this is some deep level Shi**. Bravo my friend. Great concept, simply and clear art style. Dig it!
Windows build. Game crashes right in the beginning sadly :/ When you spawn to look at the humans, after moving forward towards them.
The take on the theme is definitely interesting! Hoping to hear an update to know if something like what I encountered was fixed, I really want to try the entry!!
@hiveminds Sorry to hear that. I'll check. Are you using Windows7 or Windows10?
@despdair I'll have a try. But this is a 3D game and I'm really worried about if it can offer a great experience on WebGL.
@nero-cao Thanks for playing. We tried to use the mechanics to tell the story instead of using text, so we really worried about if players could know what we tried to narrate. We really glad you can get some information from this congfusing game.
@wxzuir Windows 7
hey. creator of another [confusing narrative game](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/45/nothing-but-everything) is here :)
beat your game twice to understand it better and check if it has other endings. i'm still not sure about the resource system, cause on the second run i did almost nothing, but the flow and outcome was the same.
i like the general idea and that narrative is open for different readings! was fun to speculate around.
the aha-moment and ending _hits hard_.
@slovnoslomo Thanks for playing
We tried to make several different endings, but because of the time limit, you know, we could only finish one.
About the second run, the speed of flowing away is higher than generating and we hide the reason in the game.(but seems like we hide it too deep to find for players)
I am interested in your confusing narrative game, you will see me at your page later. Wish I can know what you want to deliver. XD
@wxzuir I made a 3D fps game for this jam and surprisingly it works very well in html 5. Unity handles webgl conversion pretty well.
Cool little experience, like the art and sound design!
@despdair @hiveminds I just build a WebGL Version! Maybe you can have a try :smile: https://wxzuir.itch.io/nothing-in-room
erm... yes it is confusing :)
The end is never!
After the first cinematic, I hit a crash on the WebGL release. Couldn't go farther than this.
Great but confusing game! :) Unfortunately the WebGL version crashed after the first cinematic. Anyway, I really like the athmosphere you provided and this lovely take on the theme.
Loved the end and the art!! At first I thought that players can have more interaction, but while I see the end I know the feeling you want to express. Also, hope to see more ending. Really want to save the character.
@yaroslav-kravtsov @whoismawal Sorry about crash. :sob: 'I'll have a look. However the first cinematic is just the ending. There is no more anything after that. :scream:
Very odd and draws you in a an uncomfortable but at the same time irresistable way. Feels almost Kafkesque
This project is the pure gold. Not about the game itself but about the idea :)
Would be perfect in VR.
I really like the idea of this game. The graphic and music helps to create right atmosphere.
@wxzuir thank you for webgl version. I loved the game, it is so simplistic yet very impressive. End was shocking
@yaroslav-kravtsov yeah it comes from "the Stanley parable"
I can still remember the feeling when I first see the end is never the end is never the end....
It is really impressive
Haha so edgy, im the same as those stupid humans
I got an ending where I bash my head it against the wall, but I don't know if that's the actual end? I guess not? :-D Cute anyway, a nice bit of 4th wall breaking stuff here. Love the animations.
pro : the art, I like the pure white little house, also the control is simple. There are some interesting small narratives in the game, like the little man will hit the wall. The new man will come with a question mark.
con : I fail to understand the mechanism in the beginning. (It would be better if simple tips presented.) Also some low-res images ruin the atmosphere. I don't know if the angry emoji is a bug or not. Overall, the theme is vague - if it is the game suppose to have. There are a lot of stuffs in my brain. But please help me to dig it out~
@wolfrug The end of the game is just what you have play, but the true ending of this room, these people, this story.
We dont know.
Maybe people will escape, maybe they will be slaved of all time
no one knows.
but
what you feel, what you like is the real ending. It's upon to you. Not us.
That's enough
Thanks for playing.
@narudgi yeah you got it
Thanks for playing
What an emotional ride that was. The whole story I found really interesting and the PvZ music really fit surprisingly. This has been one of my favorites so far during the jam good job :D.
I liked The Stanley Parable and it's nice to see a reference to it! I think what I've seen is the ending judging from the discussion above. The game is short but pretty interesting!
I wanted to see what happened if I did nothing and that seemed to progress the story, but in the end I had to punch the people and that did not end well for me. Very interesting game.
I really would've like to play more of it, you have a really interesting concept here, only thing I'd like to know is, how did the character end up there
Very cool, wish the game was longer though, then we could enjoy it more, will you be working on this post LD?
@nachtwitch Thanks for playing.
Actually, there are some ideas we want to add to the game, so maybe we will add more different endings and optimize some parts of the game. We will try to make time for updating this game.
@dk5000p Thanks for playing.
Sorry about that the game just has only one end, and the thing you can do is limited.
At first, we want to make several endings. one is do nothing, just waiting . just like you shut the door at first in The Stanley Parable.
but we find we dont have enough time to finish it.
Maybe in the next version, we will add it.
@frozen-spirit Thanks for playing.
we feel really happy you like our game
@toasteater Thanks for playing
everyone in my team likes Stanley, and for me and @wxzuir , it is a game which becomes the first reason of trying to make games, and also enlightened us a lot.
We really like it.
Wow. This game is nice. Is the player also the one man in these 9 rooms? The bulbs of player are also absorbed by unknown one, so the number of blubs is decreasing. And the player hit the wall finally just like the human in these 9 rooms.
When I reached the end it hit me. Yes, it pays to step back for a new perspective. Very interesting concept.
Wow! I liked this a lot. The story was great, and I loved the aesthetic. Great work to you and your team!
The player is just like one of the little man in the box?.... Though short, this is the kind of game that makes me think, a lot... Great game.
@joshuarabbit Thanks for playing
you got what we think almost accurately, its really important for us to know there is someone knows our idea.
@wxzuir do you have a twitter account or something which I can follow? I liked your game and I would like to follow up you guys to see your future projects. I wanted to ask this from day one of ratings actually :D. I will be happy if any of you can provide a medium to follow.
Got the feeling that I should be the one from the cubicals, but not really sure :) Hope there will be some explanation/devlog from your side at the end. Would be really much interested in that! Good job
@jin9310 Thanks for playing
We tried to give some explations, but too specific might break the confusing we want to show, and make the game boring
In fact, your thought is right, but you are not sure about it
this kind of experience is what we want to present
This was an interesting game with a very clean presentation. Good work, I hope you expand on it!
@selkkie Thanks for playing
We will try to add something new later
