I'm missing a DLL to play the game (OpenAL32.dll) Copying it in the directory doesn't seem to solve the problem ?
Got to control the body but was stuck at the next door, tried to hit every keys on my keyboard but then I made the game crash.
I like the mood of this game and it fits the theme great.
@scott-redrup In fact you can just run into them. I should rename the ability Leep / Jump or something.
Thanks for the feedback ! :)
@kekkodude: Added the J key to consume. I also had a friend with only touchpad on his laptop and that made the game really harder.
Damn @barrier, Forgot some parenthesis while adding the J key and ended up with that exploit... Thanks for reporting, I fixed that :D
Great puzzle game, I really liked the audio. I feel like the movement of the player could be more fluid.
PS: Please send help, I'm trapped in the credit area.
I like the art, but I'm not so sure about the gameplay.
Mostly, when I'm with all my deads, I kill everyone and then destroy the houses, when I've only a few deads, I try to destroy the houses until they are all dead and then I run to graveyard and raise the dead again.
The problem is, it doesn't feel fun to me.
Here are my advices:
You're a Necromancer. A Necromancer is the ultimate snowball character. You start with one dead, then they multiply. How they multiply should be your core mechanism. Is it by contagion (Look at Warcraft3 undead contagion in the campaign or They are billions for example), is it because you killed people and can now raise these too ? Do you raise deads from people you killed ? Do you transform their spawners into yours ?
In your game, you're doing the opposite, I destroy a house, but I gain no benefit from it, worse, I lost some undeads. Worse, I need to lose all of my undeads before I can spawn new ones at the cemetery.
You should make the game more linear. You start at the cemetery, get your first deads and then only go forward. You lose deads fighting, but if you win, you get more deads. You can for example transform the house into new "cemetery".
Nicely done, I like the audio and the friend building phase. Good idle game.
Really cool concept, nice polish, nice audio track, and I love the fact that you should your own hell on earth by adding the monster yourself :)
Amazing game !
In 6 hours, that's already something.
Small things that didn't cost a lot of time:
I think you could have added a wrap around the x / y axis as I lost my ship trying to do that ^^
Its feels like the game is too slow, and when you kill an ennemy to get munitions, most of them go off screen so it becomes hard to upgrade because of that.
By attracting the munition to the player and making the game fast paced with less life, I think this game would be better.
I liked the background sound, it fits your forest :)
I really like that you can create your own ooze by selecting how you absorb things and that you lose all the ooze that isn't connected to you after a shot.
I like the fact that you can plug different controls in the spaceship and have access to only some of them in a level. I don't like the physic based controls / physic based obstacles at all as the gameplay becomes 1 minute of actual puzzle solving and 10 minutes of me spinning around in the void trying to get to the next interesting part.
Damn that's hard. Good concept and visuals.
I looked at the code and saw that it was done with unity, is it possible to have a web version hosted on itch.io or equivalent ? This looks awesome and I really want to test it but I won't have access to a Windows PC most of the time I will be testing games :s
After the first cinematic, I hit a crash on the WebGL release. Couldn't go farther than this.
Got a high score of 181.3. I lost against two consecutive rain clouds and the wind at the same time. The experience was oddly relaxing, knowing exactly what needed to be done as the algorithm is fairly simple. I also liked the umbrella idea. I like the ambiant sound of the wind / water / etc. It adds up nicely and I felt I was on the island :)
It was awesome. 5/5 theme. I really liked the little barks of the pnjs before you wake up. It adds a nice polish to the game, even if there aren't a lot of them.
@lars-erik: "Zen" :P Thanks for playing
@inka-mcafee: Thanks, that's my first pixel art. I didn't have time to finish the art, so I focused on getting them to move :)
@ace17: There are multiple sounds playing at the same time when you hit someone, the dying sound effect was done by layering multiple recording of me and ChloƩ doing weird gurgling sounds and some white noise with an amplified attack. For the hit sound, I used a gun effect on the synthesizer coming with studio one and did multiple note with it, then I layered some of these + some white noise and a recorded clic of the tongue to add more attack.
@doritolord Yes, I tried to make it quite the challenge to get over 100 while making it to 70 / 80 should be a bit tricky. If you feel stuck, making some cash reserve before going over 70 flowers is a good strategy to reach 100 more easily.
@alex457 Thanks for the feedback!
How many flowers were you able to get before it felt too intense (roughly)? Which kind of pacing would you have preferred for this kind of game ? Would you have liked a different way to kill the enemies ? Too much clicking or does it feel fun to click so much ?
@kevinworkman I tried cheating too in my play run so I fixed it before release ;)
@MartianSteve You are right, I think there are too many of them when you start. The number of ennemies is related to the size of your garden, I might need to reduce the size of the garden a bit when you start the game.
I added a garden at the start of the game to make the player understand that they need to extend it and to add the "Keep it alive" feeling to the garden maintenance. In the first gameplay draft, There was no garden when you started and people were getting confused about the game objective.
@amkingtrp Yes it would be great, I had a plan for some turrets / fences but I had to cut that out of the game to release in time ;)
I managed to molt the core several time. Then I read the help. Then I managed to have a stable core at 200 degrees by changing some knob a bit randomly, and I've managed to start making the second system warm up but I haven't managed to make my steam turbine work yet without blowing everything. I'm missing some feedback, I want to see my core exploding in a big boom !
I really liked the text animation. The text itself was a bit too much in the way, so I skipped most of it. The mood and gameplay were polished, even though I would have liked to rotate the modules.
I encountered some strange behaviors: - The bot seem to fail their path finding in some condition as on one level, they would not move even when there was a clear path to me. - Also putting a defensive card on top of an already existing wall makes it disappear forever at the end of the turn. - The bomber exploded when they arrived on a case diagonal to me, so they didn't hurt me. - Sometimes bots spawn on the same case as the character - I couldn't turn a certain lid :)
I was a bit lost trying to understand what will pass through me, and sometimes why I lost as nothing was on satan but the game became red / the tutorial text kept coming back. I liked the sound, I also liked the sprites for the player character and the devil, but the enemies were kind of hard to figure out. I also sometimes disappeared of screen when the green thing pushed me (I think that's what happened as my player just vanished after being hit by one of these)
After hitting continue playing, I left my hunger bar go to 0 as I didn't know how to return to the beginning but nothing happened ?
I really like the music and sound of this entry :)
God damn I feel so stressed right now :D It's quite hard to get at first and then it felt like playing a lot of mini games at the same time, which is still quite hard ^^
The Hdd were harder to take than the other servers, it could be quite frustrating trying to face the thing correctly to grab it while my server are on fire :P
I really like the fact thas the sound comes back louder when you add logs to the fire. Also the character becoming smaller adds a nice twist and gives a sense of urgency. The atmosphere of the game was nice. The gameplay itself wasn't really interesting as you are trying to keep the fire running so you will run from one tree to the next and go back to the fire. This means you will deforest a radius and then die. Even if you are the best player ever, you can't survive forever.
Bug Report: I see two buttons on the start screen, but there isn't any text on them and if click on the second one, Nothing comes up.
I found the art kind of cute, not sure about the gameplay mechanic as there isn't much to think about, but it might be a good game for kids ?
The audio feels delayed, I think you need more attack on the sound the blob makes when it eats to make it work.
I'm not sure why I lost (I was at half the party meter), using the webgl version.
I would have liked to interact with the guest more, for example, instead of the static eat /drink spot, one guest want one drink and one want to eat, plan who gets what while looking at what is required next + music to keep going (maybe some tracks to switch to)
I like the art and the music :)
I also think the shield range should be bigger, I had to stay in the middle of the turtle spawner just to get in time to save them, so I couldn't deliver them to the sea, I just had to wait till I had all of them collected to go to the sea, which seems like cheating to me ^^
I really liked the art. The music didn't sound peaceful enough for me so I just cut it off. It provides a peaceful gardening experience. It's missing some goal or useful ways to spend the money we win.
I'm not sure the game needs a money system, you could also just let people create their own flower arrangement and place them for display / rate them with stars / achievements: most colorful, good color selection, etc.
I stopped circa 900_000, to see if it would sustain itself but no luck :p Cool little game :)
I really liked the mood of the game. Didn't read the instructions, but the game was clear enough without them. I took one of the stick and then fell in one of the hole, losing it forever. It felt a little too harsh as the stick wasn't on the platform anymore. So I didn't use the sticks. I just rushed like a mad man to get to the end :).
I couldn't really figure out how things worked, in all my maps, except the towns, everything has a lot of water (like 20) and 3-4 fuel, I don't know how to make the fire last.
The mood is really great :)
