The physics are really impressive. For a HTML5 game, you've done a great job. I loved the interactions with the different controls as they unlocked. Game was easy to understand, controls are quite intuitive too. In the level where it got "ridiculous", it was actually hard to control the machine. But enjoyed the game very much.
Easily spent 5-10 minutes playing. Good job!
My poor laptop was almost on fire after that last level :grimacing: This was a fun game! The controls were hard, but for once I think it added to the humorous part of the game. Good job!
Nice physics based game! I like all the different abilities and how you start from nothing each level. I think the turning controls are a little frustrating though, could tweak them to make them better. Good work!
Very enjoyable sound was definitely a little louder than I would have liked. Took me a little longer to beat because I got distracted playing around with the physics engine (may or may not have tried to beat an entire level using only bouncy balls as my method of locomotion). Really was great fun.
really fun play there
Hah, the title screen did not give away how good a little game this is! I like the progression and the puzzle aspect of it. I assume the controls are somewhat difficult for a reason and I like it. Took 7.5 minutes to complete.
Pretty fun! I wish the controls were a little bit tighter. Turning controls were rough but overall the level design, graphics, and everything were really well put together.
I agree with everyone about the steering. It's all level 2's fault. Having to roll your spaceship to the wormhole because it's the only thing you can do cracks me up, and it really plays into the theme. But getting the gravity and torque and friction to work together to make that possible is tricky. I tried upping the gravity at one point and it completely broke that level. Adjusting the turning forces also breaks that one. I could've made different physics values per-level I suppose, but I like that whatever controls you have work the same on every level.
Overall, I really like it. Connects well with the theme and has some puzzles I like the feel of. Some more detailed thoughts: - I found it odd that the bouncy-ball cannon didn't have any sort of "kick" when fired. - The center-of-gravity of the ship feels "off", though it might be because of the camera motion rather than because of the ship motion itself.
@ixchow - You're right, the center is slightly off. It's not on purpose, but I struggled a lot getting the physics hooked up right, as well as synced with the graphics properly. It's "close enough" but I would've liked to figure it out for real and make it perfect.
The bouncy ball cannon does have a tiny bit of kick. It probably could do with more.
Didn't work in chrome, but did work in internet explorer
@jamesvaughan Weird, I've only run it in Chrome, on two different PCs.
Oh and it loads and runs on iOS Safari! Can't control it though. Might try to add on-screen keys for mobile browsers. I think that last level will melt my phone :D
Had a blast with this one! The Idea felt really original (at very least to me)! It looks like you had fun with it and had some fun designing your levels! I think the sound could be a little less in your face, and the gravity a little higher, though I read your comment earlier saying how that broke the 2nd level. Either way, super fun, wish there were more levels!
Refreshing take on a 2D "space shooter" :) Technically very well done. I like the way it surprises you by being a totally other kind of game than you would expect. I struggeled a bit with the controls on some levels.
10 minutes, 10 seconds to clear. Who can beat it? That was really fun and silly.
Interesting gameplay and good puzzles. Controls could be improved upon, was quite hard to control the spaceship but perhaps that was the idea :D i liked it, well done!
I felt like playing surgeon simulator :p Throwing bouncing balls around to steer was really fun, but it made my PC lag a lot (my fault for playing ludum dare games on a low end PC I guess)
This was a really fun game to play, I enjoyed it quite a bit, love the innovation, great job
Hard to complete for me but did it and enjoyed it.
I was incredibly frustrated by the controls and physics although I guess that was the point. The humor was welcome, especially in the final level.
I think the start could've had a faster pace. It took a while to be able to move and during that time I was wondering if you had omitted control instructions. Also, an indication of where the level portals were would've been appreciated (though again maybe forcing discovery was your intention, which is fair enough).
I found some sfx pretty harsh to listen to and ended up muting the audio sadly.
As many others have stated, the controls took away heavily from the gameplay. The concept of making it through levels with only some mechanics each time is decent though
Amazing little game! I love the way it keeps evolving and how it keeps being more and more interesting with each moment. Well done overall!
I like the fact that you can plug different controls in the spaceship and have access to only some of them in a level. I don't like the physic based controls / physic based obstacles at all as the gameplay becomes 1 minute of actual puzzle solving and 10 minutes of me spinning around in the void trying to get to the next interesting part.
Why is it so hard to fly that ship  So infuriating, somehow I have a lot of fun and laughed a lot. Good game, well done.
I really liked the take on the "start with nothing" theme. The physics-based nature of the game play was nice, too. Perhaps the single simplest thing that would make it even more fun might be to make the left-and-right controls not use inertia; aiming was hard! Otherwise, quite fun.
This was definitely one of the games that best ties in the theme! Being able to start every level with no parts was awesome! My favorite part was the last little bit where all the balls come crashing down - I was not expecting that haha. It's also kind of surreal to see a game so similar to mine (and yet so different)! Nice work
Cool! That was a lot of fun. I like the level design and pacing - getting slightly different components every level keeps each level fresh. I also like how you remind the player of the controls on every level since it could be easy to forget what you have from level to level.
First time I played the engine did not wait for me directly under my spaceship, but a bit to the right... unreachable. After restarting the level, I could gather it and play. :-)
Controlling the ship was insanely difficult, but possible. The wave of balls in the last level was fun.
Interesting concept about the parts. Little bit laggy on last level. Solid not broken entry.
I beat it! That was a fun play of physics in space! Great job! My family loved this game as well!
was able to beat it! had fun, kind of impressive that it still ran with all the physics, though it did slow down on my browser. Controls were hard but was able to make it through. Keep up the good work!
Thats the first game i saw in this jam where the controls beign weird are part of the fun.
The graphics and sounds are quite simple, yet effective in this game. They give that vintage nostalgic vibe. The controls and mechanics are quite simple to understand, and even with this the game came with nice puzzles.
Also, i laugh at that bouncing ball rain. Good job on this game!
Nice physics puzzler! I like the clever usage of limited mobility. The levels were fun, but sometimes the physics could be frustrating.
The physics make it difficult to control the spaceship but also generate really fun situations. Graphics are good and I liked the puzzle design, good job!
Nice spaceship game. I like how collecting the different parts upgraded the ship. I couldn't figure out how to use the hook.
