LD45 — Start with nothing

I Have Nothing - If I don't take from you! by Imphenzia 2019-10-08T15:09:36Z

A really nice little game that blends stealth and humor into a simple yet fun package. I loved every moment of it. A couple of small things that could make this even better would be to add some vision cone/other sensory information about the lady, as well as provide means of putting stuff down nicely. I understand the humor behind just throwing stuff into a pile and it's a lot of fun, but then again we're "equipping" our place - why not allow the option to place the object down in it's designated manner of standing? All in all tho, an amazing job on this! Congrats!

Higher Desire by ColeSlaughter 2019-10-07T22:17:41Z

Quite interesting way of creating a challenge. Also, aesthetics were quite nice. Well done! I wasn't exactly sure about all the symbolism, but it was an interesting experience non the less.

GRIMOIRE by Eryph 2019-10-08T11:11:12Z

Lovely game with nice graphics and an interesting way of approaching the theme. I enjoyed it thoroughly. I did encountered an odd bug a couple of times where my typing stuff did not produce any spells at all - then after death, things started working again. Still, that aside, the experience was smooth and entertaining. Congrats!

Absorb by dimlight 2019-10-08T14:54:11Z

Amazing little game with so much potential to grow into something better. The graphics were awesome, the music was nice and the sound effects fit. A bit of audio balancing wouldn't hurt, as some of the sounds were too loud compared to others. I liked the extra challenge the dash controls provide as well as how the enemies and new things are introduced. I genuine had to stop and think on how best to utilize my arsenal, which means a lot! Great entry and awesome job on this one! Congrats!

バクラウBloodless by Danilo Freire 2019-10-08T15:48:09Z

Amazing art style and mood, as many others have written before. But besides just looking good, it is also excellent in communicating gameplay - it's clear to me where I can and cannot go, it is clear where the enemies are and it's very clear when an attack is coming. Reading patterns is also quite straight forward which makes the game feel just that much more polished.

I really enjoyed the buildup and how everything felt like it was giving me enough time to understand and adapt to the various changes and challenges.

While the controls were odd to get started with, I didn't at any point feel like the game is punishing me, rather that I have not practiced enough which is the delicate balance a game of this kind really needs. I can really see this being expanded into a strong, full fledged game either as is, or even mobile with touch controls.

All in all, amazing game, well done! Congrats!

Gloominate by Darth Mediocrity 2019-10-07T22:21:59Z

Love it! Nice approach to the theme, and the music/mood you pull out from just a few little graphics is amazing! Lovely little game.

New Project by TheMiSta92 2019-10-07T22:34:04Z

Quite an interesting way of approaching the theme. The art is awesome and the overall audio as well! The movement feels a bit hard to control, especially in the air. A bit more friction/snappiness and the game would be even better! Awesome work :)

Star Twit: H. Nothing by ogre 2019-10-08T10:21:32Z

Amazing little game! I love the way it keeps evolving and how it keeps being more and more interesting with each moment. Well done overall!

Hellion: The Legend of Jeff by Mad Brokli 2019-10-08T10:38:20Z

Great way to approach the theme. Loved the graphics, controlls were tight and it felt like things happened the way I expected them to happen. One thing that confused me is the way "healing" or "regeneration" works. Do I get life back with captured souls? 1 life per soul? Or 1 life per X souls? Or is it just regenerating. Knowing how this works would've been great. Still, I loved the little game. Just spent a good 30+ minutes playing and I can see myself playing more. Congrats!

ReFormer by yokuday 2019-10-08T11:40:32Z

Lovely little game! Spent quite some time with it. The controls are great, the visuals are nice. Randomization was a bit odd but I'm not sure if that's a bad or a good thing. Non the less, it's a great entry! Congrats!

Lurking in the shadows by Shad 2019-10-08T00:26:42Z

Great atmosphere with a really simple yet quite tactical gameplay! Congrats!

B4 THIS by Cafearatus 2019-10-08T18:09:37Z

Amazing atmosphere and music, great art and very nice way of approaching the theme. I had issues with the menu not showing up as well, but afterwards the experience was smooth. I really enjoyed this, and I'm glad to see more people looking towards are more artistic approach to jams! Great work, congrats! :)

SpaceShift by Dawnscream 2019-10-07T21:14:24Z

@danny88881 actually the material of the boxes is intentionally hidden. You start with nothing. They will stay visible after you stand on them. Also the blue blobs create a Sonar-like ping to reveal them. Thanks for playing!

SpaceShift by Dawnscream 2019-10-08T10:09:53Z

@ogre glad you liked it! Also, ShiftSpace is a lovely game :D Club it is!

@diabola69 Thanks a bunch! Glad you enjoyed it. Stay tuned, as we'll probably add a bunch of levels post-jam.

SpaceShift by Dawnscream 2019-10-08T13:08:50Z

@daitse yeah, I ran out of time and did not make a proper level selection UI (hence why the console was left in to switch manually for people). However I did leave the level not load the next after getting all the blogs so that players can jump around have have fun in the fully revealed map. Thanks for playing!

@boats Yup, the bane of randomized level load. It seemed like a nice idea at the time, not sure anymore :D Still, left in the console commands for manual swap. Thank you for the commends and the play! Stay tuned, we already came to a decision to extend this game a lot!

Thank you for the rating and your time for trying out our game @veeti-sundqvist @drjeebus @feingehacktes @bustosman @hadesfury and @sir-galloy-de-fierpate ! I'm glad you enjoyed it. We certainly plan on expanding on this with a variety of things, but the evolving music is definitively staying as one of our core functions. I had a blast developing the system and @sloe did an awesome job at composing the music itself. :)

Cell by SirRed 2019-10-08T10:15:08Z

Very interesting approach to the whole there! Love the progression and the character is neat. Controls a bit hard when in the air - some more snappiness there would make the game even better. Well done!

Spellody by EvilScotsman 2019-10-08T10:49:38Z

Interesting little game! It seems like we thought about similar things when building the game for this jam. Even the styling is similar :D I've played quite some of this little game. The only thing that's confusing for me, is what exactly do my spell combinations produce. Non the less, I enjoyed it a lot.

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Descent Into Madness by Dan Davis 2021-05-03T16:57:18Z

Music is awesome, I love the layering work. Also, the concept about the whole thing is quite amazing. I'm also a huge fun of the visual style. Controls could use a bit of polish but overall I like how this turned out!

Descension AI by Chrispy977 2021-05-03T16:41:30Z

Looks like a quite nice approach to a falling game. I like the option to restore my HP as well! Wish I could fall faster though, as it generally feels slow from that aspect. Awesome work! :D

Down Down Well by OldDog 2021-05-03T17:15:58Z

The idea is quite amazing, and the visuals are nice. Reminds me of Unrawel Two and I appreciate that! Controls did feel a bit clunky, as I could not jump quite often for some reason, and then at other times the jump would just work fine. AS if controlling one character would lock jumping to that one, and I'd have to press jump multiple times to have it back on the other one. Overall, a nice little game!

Deeper unto the Dungeon by Sieber2210 2021-05-03T17:19:55Z

As others have mentioned, first person is a bit tricky in this game. I do enjoy the visuals and the overall idea however! A bit more polish on the whole combat moment would really push this game forward, because I had some issues understanding if I'm actually successfully dealing hits or not. Thank you for this experience, quite a neat entry!

Vertabyss by UltimateWalrus 2021-05-03T16:59:54Z

A very interesting approach to the theme and a pretty cool visual style. The game is indeed hard, but after a few go-ats, it gets more and more fun. Very nice entry, thanks for providing this expeerience!
