Link appears to be broken :(
I got stuck there as well. I'd like to revisit this one if the progression stopper is fixed. It is intriguing...
OMG this game is dark! The word puzzle is a nice concept :)
Nice art!
Interesting idea... but I have no microphone :(
I get an exception as soon as I press a button and can make zero progress. :(
Love the message at the last door.
Where is it? No link :(
I played for like 20 minutes and had upgraded my ship a lot... but nothing happened. No enemies, no kitty :( I never got a win or lose. Not sure what happened, but I had to move on.
I think it would be OK to fix the game crashing when you die, as it does make restarting after a death frustrating and unappealing. Those sharks were scary. When I finally got my boat I was like "HA! Forget you, sharks!".
Hilarious!
Looks like a good start to any number of game types.
That music gets scary sometimes. Love it!
Crashes immediately after starting the Game.exe.
Windows 7 64bit, ATI Radeon HD 4890
I didn't hear any sounds, is something wrong?
Cute little game. Really should not require an installer though, especially one that forces a restart.
Agree with devwil, the theme didn't make it through. But it is an amusing coffeebreak game and a fine effort.
Could have worked as a typing shooter!
I feel like I'm missing something. What are the controls? All i can do is move and jump. what is the cursor attached to WASD for? All I've managed to do so far is go three screens to the left and find another robot. Help?
Very interesting idea for a game!
Nice puzzler, great use of the theme.
It's funny, sad, and scary all at the same time. Nice work!
Excellent puzzler, fine music and nice atmosphere. High marks!
"I am hungry!"
AzP, I gave it a quick shot, but it would require more than just exporting to the web player, controls would need to change, and I'd need to fix up some GUI positioning to accommodate a smaller resolution (unless 800x600 is Ok for a web game?)
OK, Web version is up.
Z and X decrease/increase Zoom level in the Web player version btw.
Hey all! Thanks for trying this out. I might argue that the concept of objective or purpose (beyond survival) is absent when you are alone in the universe, and that this is part of the aesthetic here, however it was definitely a failure on my part to properly communicate the idea. I appreciate the feedback, my friends. As a tech demo, it does work too, which is very encouraging... I feel that I should definitely set some time aside to keep working on expanding this one.
eli... How did you want to move the ship?
Unfortunately this crashes so often I can't make any progress :( Good effort though, looks like you have something to work on and keep ya busy for a while!
Very interesting adventure you made here. Fantastic use of the theme. This is definitely one of my favorite entries I've played so far.
Beautiful artwork!
Nice mood here. The thoughts add a lot to what is otherwise a simple game. Good work!
Hopefully this makes you better prepared for the future! Keep up the efforts :)
You so silly.
"Intelligent language processing? Nope. Chuck Testa." lol :)
Enjoyed this game! Character reminds me of a coconut for some reason. Too bad you guys didn't get any sound effects in, but the music was nice :) Good work overall!
4 stars for humor because I can't stop laughing at how weird and confused I feel after playing this.
Super work!
Drawing of super happy god made me super happy. Cute game!
Nice, innovative use of theme, really effective graphics. Bonus points for multiplayer :)
Nice, simple mechanics. Great presentation. Congratulations on a job well done!
Nice break from standard platforming!
Nice responsive movement controls, my clicking finger gets tired though. 12 bacteria is my best score.
Short and sweet. Nice presentation, and great timing with the dialogue. Good work!
LOL. This might be the Citizen Kane of gaming that we've all been waiting for.
Arg I can only shoot up or down!
It's got some control problems and I'm not sure how the theme figures in, but overall a good entry. Congratulations on finishing!
That's a fun battle!
A lot of minuses on this: install required, no audio at all, no apparent way to restart without closing the window and running again, the story dialogs can't be skipped. At the end of the level is an apology that there isn't more to the game and blame it on the artist :/
So much variety, so much polish. Fun and great mood. Love the credits at the end.
Wow, very nice. Audio is great. Love how my world becomes smaller as holes are broken through the globe, and that sometimes it's my own damn fault. Also, 'Aliens' reference!
Fun entry. Enjoyed the programmer dialogue and sound effects in general fit really well. Gripe: the camera was the toughest foe. Good work and congratulations on finishing!
Interesting controls in this one. Takes some practice and provides a nice challenge.
Nice little shooter, relaxing music. Got to the 2nd wave, will take a bit more practice. Fairly difficult! I wish it had controller support, an analog stick would be perfect for aiming.
Solid and innovative entry. Nicely done!
Wow, bro. Too bad it's not more complete.
Interesting concept.
Hint about the cells: The cell type is the shape, the color doesn't mean anything. There is one bad cell type per game. I haven't actually won either. Thanks for playing!
There is always one bad cell type. I agree though, all too often the patient dies from lack of treatment or improper treatment!
Weird, interesting, confusing, but not bad!
Wow, that is difficult. I like how what you destroy determines your stats.
Yikes, well hopefully you've learned something in preparation for next time! (I never do...)
I stepped in a puddle of pee and died. Later on I won.
Loved the art style. Viva billboard sprites! Wish my captured monsters wouldn't die so fast though.
Hey nice! Sadly my game was not winnable since one of the red cells disappeared into the darkness.
Not bad. The sliders don't seem to match the values. It would be nice if A and D could rotate the world as well. Congratulations on a good effort!
Not a bad little roguelike for under 72 hours. I really like the simple inventory system. I felt the levels were a pretty nice size, maybe just slightly too big.
Protip for other players: Don't press ESC to cancel (T)hrow. It exits the game!
Sometimes you get "Download Unity Webplayer" repeatedly because your browser wants your approval before running the webplayer from some links. Check for security notifications, for instance the shield icon that pops up to the right of the address in Chrome.
Also... nice arena shooter. Last level was a doozy for a while, but it's quick to restart which lessens the frustration factor. Sadly, can't give you many points on the use of theme.
I like the mood of this game, sometimes relaxing, sometimes terrifying. Gameplay is nice, reminiscent of flOw. Downside is that the load/generation time before the game gets going is pretty long :(
I liked the humorous sounds, especially the one where you cough.
It's silly, congratulations on finishing!
Nice crunchy explosions. Accuracy is a fine scoring system, and gives time for the enemies to evolve. I'm a fan of shmups and this one has some nuance. Makes good use of the theme.
Any use of the theme besides just mentioning it in text when a level is finished?
I hate spikes so much right now.
Adorable adventure.
Solid entry!
Nice little game, would fit right at home in an arcade cabinet. Looking forward to a version with sfx.
Aw man, attacks should cause knockback or something to make it feel crunchy. Primordial setting goes well with the simple drum track, but def needs some more sounds. Lava spout was a nice touch. Love the animal combinations. Congratulations on a good showing.
Nice dino sprites!
Since there is still time left in the jam, I made some quick edits. The evolution system wasn't even working as intended, it is now. Also slowed down the player movement and attempted to make the player more visible by limiting the colors the enemies can be a bit. Also I had hardcoded a random.seed for testing purposes and forgot to take that out.
The blocks evolve over time, survivors pass on their traits, so theoretically, the ones that exit the playspace are more successful and eventuall ythe population of blocks will have traits that the player either 1) was unable to deal with or 2) preferred by letting them live.
That is... if you survive long enough.
Getting that giggle is so fun.
It's good!
Adorable use of theme!
Hilarious!
Nice short platformer. I suck too much at wall jumping to win it though. Ow my fingers...
Score 43250! I really dig this game. When I used to play Simcity, my favorite part was using the cheats to cause fires and plane crashes. This game hits the same notes :)
Amazingly innovative. For me it was perfectly skirting the edge of disgust and eroticism, I wanted to flee, but then sometimes I wanted to give in. So good!
Cool game. I don't think eating makes a villain per se, but then some vegetarians I know would say differently!
Nice prototype for something bigger. Keep on it.
I knew there was a twist coming! Didn't expect it to play out like it did. Nice work.
Adorable!
Hod do I use the keypad in the cell?
Nevermind, I didn't read the description well enough.
Wow that's difficult game, nice! More traditional 3 button shooter controls would be Arrow Keys + Z, X, C
Humanity is doomed! Interesting little rpg here with a funny premise. Good!
Nice little puzzles, perfect game length, beautiful sound. Really good work.
Silly. Nice work getting the holiday spirit in.
Cute!
Rugged message. I gave high ratings for fun, not because killing innocents is fun, but because not every game needs to be traditional gleeful pee-your-pants fun.
Special abilities when carrying princesses is a really cool idea. Nice!
Kivi, The game isn't calling you a coward for killing yourself, but for going out and killing innocent people.
Anyways, a poignant game, and this was truly an unfortunate theme choice given the tragedy in Connecticut. This game does it right though, without glamorizing the deed.
Weird. So weird. A little bit wonderful too.
How is the score figured?
I enjoyed your funny adventure game.
Well made indeed.
Are those hobbitses?
Nice play on theme, I wonder if daily play would improve my short term memory performance?
Challenging and fun. Another solid entry, Jon.
Felt a bit sick on the first level (due to the theme, good use btw). Problem, got stuck in the 2nd level. Maybe I didn't figure out what to do?
Yes. I was wondering if someone would be able to effectively show this idea. Excellent work.
This is awesome fun. Nice chunky impact fx. The controls feel amazingly good, I hadn't played a twin stick that controlled like this so it was awkward at first but now I see the truth in it. Good stuff!
What a rugged story. Great work.
This is the one. Wow.
Hilarious!
Weird idea! Good execution!
Yep. That's an LD48 entry alright.
Beautiful presentation.
One of my favorites so far.
562 clicks.
Nice art, controls feel really good.
Wow this is a hard game, nicely done though.
Really pretty.
This is so ridiculously good.
Really liked that ship building portion.
That ending screen is the best.
Cool use of the theme in an rpg setting!
Nice art, theme usage is fine as far as the performing action phase, but not so much the planning phase since the interface was not exactly forgiving.
Also noticed that if you adjust the size of the window, then you can no longer properly click on anything; the mouse position detection seems to get offset.
Beautiful look to it.
Show's a lot of promise. The art is really gorgeous. The short bit of content you managed is pretty funny too. All hail the queen!
This is silly fun.
You get high ratings from me too. It is somewhat frustrating that its so easy to drop the bomb when trying to use the stairs though.
The look kinda makes me nostalgic for old DOS games
Very innovative!
It's both funny and moody!
The z and x buttons don't seem to do anything. I watched skie's video and saw that it should do an attack but for some reason its not working for me. I'm on windows btw.
Oh I see now, those are the selection buttons. I wasn't using ctrl! Thanks :)
Oh man. I hear their voices in my head! Arrrrgh! So cute!
So silly and cute!
Awesome. I love being a clumsy, crotchety old man that gets to break things and get away with it.
Risk vs Reward balancing is top-notch. Super stressful game. I kinda wish that I could actually gain time on the next level for leaving the previous early, but that would probably unbalance the game way too much. Visual and audio are perfect. Really well done.
Nice concept, I'm glad to find one (so far) that used the theme not related to time. 2 problems: I don't know where the finish line is. The game (windows version) seems to crash when hitting the skip buttons after the first playthrough.
Really fine use of theme. Thanks for making each water pool a checkpoint also.
Another cooking game, I love it! I like the plate temperature mechanic, adds a ton more depth than just watching the cook times. I could have sworn that lizard would have wanted raw food though :P
Cool, strange, nice music, and pretty good humor. I wish I didn't have to spend so much time walking though.
Good mood and story too.
Amazing and hilarious.
NICE! I understand the title now.
I have a weakness for upgrade games, and this is a great one.
Is there a way to save the game? If not, maybe add it!
It's got a cool mood and really nice visual style. Got stuck on the pillars level.
That's a pretty awesome robot.
It's not tied to the theme as strongly as some others, but regardless it's a great game. Love the band portraits. A really nice touch. Good work!
It's neat and I think the visuals are nice. I couldn't place what it the "weird" thing that happens every 10 seconds was, besides the doors opening and closing.
I hate when my burritos get too hot.
Very impressive work!
Beautiful.
My story was about a guy named Poop and a girl named Pee.
I enjoyed playing this! No sounds or did I break it?
Really like that time flow system.
What a strange thing to think about... killing your own clones.
This has really good gameplay and I love that Intro sequence!
5 stars for concept alone. Bravo. Definitely need a way to speed up the replay. Fantastic game and LD entry.
Simple concept with good execution. I love the minimalist presentation, very effective! Technical notes: The music works in my Chrome. Game does not work in my Firefox though.
Nice game with cute graphics. Felt a bit sluggish at firs tbut then i just needed to increase my attack speed. Some move speed upgrade would also be nice. Two suggestions on the interface: since spacebar opens the shop menu, then spacebar should also close it. While on the shop menu it would make more sense to map the purchase keys to the keys the player is already got there fingers over, so WASD. reaching over there to the h,n etc keys was a minor hindrance.
That was a sweet story, I'm glad I saved the world from a pizzapocalypse. Love that priest has a cross patterned hoodie. also the typo (was it?) near the end made me laugh... "sharted" instead of "started".
Very ambitious project!
Excellent backstory, and love the alliteration. Nice fun game, like a farmville under the gun. Great!
So many cooking games this LD. I love it!
This is a great entry!
Very challenging, but its fast to jump into so that makes up for it. Like a hotline miami of fps.
Really pretty. I'm have a lot of trouble at the first part after the long fall, I can't seem to climb the wall. Any pointers?
The ominous music that plays when I fail at getting enough seconds is really hilarious to me.
Melts my brain. Really good!
Not sure I understand this game.
If we all parked like this in real life it would really be ludicrous!
Nice way to play with the theme, and great humor. Perfect difficulty and length for an LD game.
Overrall a good game and fun to play. I have a minor gripe with the the fact that respawn key is not shown in game because, no, i didn't RTFM :P
So good, so hard. I'm glad I'm not a cook for our dear leader in real life. This game taught me things about real life.
Didn't figure out how to complete it, but i really liked the journey
Nice graphics paired with fluid combo animation and simple mashy controls makes for a fun little diversion.
Wow, I really throw a bummer of a party, people even got arrested! Cool game.
I think I got the good ending. I need to go spend a week in the forest with no technology soon.
I am learning so many moves from these two!
A salute your effort. Each attempt, learn something new. Keep working at it and you'll get faster and learn to work within the limitations of time. Best luck, hope to see you next time!
Nice concept, could see this being expanded upon for sure.
The toilet emote is pretty funny.
Wow, awesome idea. It's so silly how you turned the theme on it's head by taking the most conventional of weapons into an unconventional direction. Great work!
Aw... TBC? Still, was fun while it lasted.
Cheeseburger in paradise.
Perfect bite sized game.
Cheeseburger in my mouth.
It's fine work as always, Pierrec. But, ouch. That hit hard. I definitely felt a connection to the character in this one, even more than some of your previous games. I still can't help but feel guilty about choosing one at the end. But this sense of guilt led me to quite an interesting introspective journey. The game works and I found it is worth a few replays to read each character's story while trying to figure out why it made me feel the way it did.
The enemy is the sun, the weapon is the umbrella. Very cute twist.
Cool glitch: if you turn mama around just as you are unlocking the door, she moonwalks through the house :) It's pretty sweet.
Bad glitch: if you have georgey boy pressed up against the door, sometimes holding enter will get mama stuck in the air and you have to reload the page.
I love that the minimal colors tie in with the mechanics and make the whole piece work together. It's a lovely design. I think you should release a downloadable version too.
I liked looking at all the models in the environment. Common game objects used in a surreal way. Cool.
Excellent use of theme, and the presentation ties it all into a nice atmospheric experience. Thanks for sharing your memories with us in such a neat way!
Nice choice of unconventional abilities. Very difficult for me to get very far in the game though, like you said it's not well balanced. There are some really rough collision issue that make it frustrating to keep retrying, such as getting stuck in the floor. I'd also suggest distributing the game as a zip file rather than an installation, and to make sure the program matches the name of the game instead of "LD32" or what have you.
Really cute presentation and theme usage. Nice work!
Great idea and great humor. The idea of driving off humans using plants that have such traits as "makes a skreeching noise when no one is looking" is definitely one of my new favorite things to think about.
Kinda neat idea for the battle system. I think it could be made more user friendly, clicking on an enemy to insert their name for instance. could also be expanded upon by having some known hashtags the player could choose that would do more/less damage vs certain enemies. Cool beans though!
The fighting with words thing is a great Idea, something we also used a bit of. The instructions are displayed out in a clever way, however the game throws a bunch of enemies at you immediately, so there's no opportunity to read them. I would have liked the enemies to pose more of a threat, as it is now they are easily beaten by mashing any attack, and even using the wrong word can be used to stun-lock. The graphics and aesthetic are top notch!
I can't seem to get the throwing right, so probably can't finish the game before breaking controller. It was fun while it lasted though. Good work.
The fact that you can only see them through the camera gives this a sort of scary vibe. Nice use of the theme!
The finest burrito delivery sim around.
Now that's a very cool gun. Nice twist on platforming. My only complaint is that other than the enemy that blocks your shots I didn't see a point to the moving enemies.
The way the red blobs keel over and die is pretty funny. And that's the weirdest shotgun noise I've ever heard :) Also likes the little bit of rag dolling the skeletons do.
If that was the dog that barks all damn night and morning in my neighborhood, waking me up all the damn time, then it had it coming. I ain't leading it to freedom. BOOM bitch. BOOM. J/K. Hurting animals is wrong.
I would enjoy this a bit more if WASD or arrow keys moved the player rather than the left mouse button. I also got stuck on a corner in level 3 and had to quit the game. It's too bad you didn't manage to get the penguin grenade to actually explode like a grenade though. That would have been funny. Grat's on your first LD game. See you next time!
Impacts feels really crunchy. Fun.
Perfectly simple but effective fun. The strong must protect the sweet!
Love the food chain system. It's a nice twist on the usual tower upgrade system. Nice work :)
Very clever twist on the boomerang! Graphics and sound are tight too.
The title screen is so soothing.
Excellent game, well done good sir!
Great visuals. The music lends a nice mood. If only the game were playable. This was definitely an ambitious attempt, and kudos for the cavern generation. I hope you all get something more playable next time! See ya then!
Good amount of features implemented in such a short time.
I randomly threw tacos and burritos at the zombies until finally I was alone with the cute blonde girl. Sadly she just stared at me blankly until I exited the program.
Neat idea. It took me a while to understand that I needed to click and drag a line in order to score points. The sound clue is a nice twist.
Really pretty to look at.
Cool minimal retro arcade style. The gameplay is interesting, I like the split between fighting the hordes and running the factory. The player's own weapon is pretty weak, which gives the game a hectic feel. It would be nice to be able to actually use some of those weapons we are building though.
Interesting twist! It gets a bit dark at the end but I think I see what you were going for. Would like if you had more time to explore the theme a bit more in terms of more actions that the player needed to perform for the princess. I appreciated all the bits where you interact with her though, checking on her emotional state and such. It's nice work, well done!
Kinda scary feeling the whole way through.
I really like the squish sound and animation when things get killed.
My parents would probably play this on their phones. They love word games. With the timed battle nature it would be a good challenge for them and keep their minds sharp.
I like the art a lot. Very clean and simple, yet effective. Who would experiment on poor chicken like this?
Funny use of theme. Good Work. One suggestion. Maybe have an option to reuse the last setup when they retry. It would be nice to be able to retry while making slight adjustments each time instead of resetting all the angles.
Great look, great music. The combat system is quite innovative. I really like how the more Coats gets hit, the more that stat increases. It's a nice metaphor for growing as a netizen, we eventually you grow a thick skin against all the negative comments and abuse we see all day.
Funny concept. Nice art style! It's good work.
Looks cool. It's fun to run around and make a mess before the monster appears. Would play better with gamepad though. Why not use the default horizontal/vertical axis and fire1 in unity? Why force arrows and z key?
I only manage to get spell off once in a while. The notes don't always work, not sure what I'm doing wrong. I have terrible timing so maybes that's it. Difficulty is brutal, but I like the concept and presentation.
Yeah, this was my first attempt at using Unity's new UI system. It's got a lot of nice features, but scaling is not one of them. Next time, Gadget! Next time!
Reminded me of my days as a sneak attack telemarketer. A monstrous job indeed, trying to upsell people that called in with legitimate problems.
This game is weird and I like it that way. The menu system? Love it. It works just like the shooting part.
Excellent game, looks, sounds, plays great!
Great fun! Bravo! Winner!
Really sweet!
Was hoping to be able to turn into wolf and start eating villagers.
Being a slow driver in the left lane is truly messed up. Once I found out about the economy I was actually happier for it. -1 unhappy person? Muhahaha! Great work, and funny!
I won with 9/20 score! Its a great solitaire game, with some nice thoughtful mechanics. I am really curious how you were going to theme the game! Don't get sick next time! :)
I opened a stall in the bathroom and a girl popped out like a cat being let out of it's carrier. I lol'd. Then I saw some kids moonwalking around at a frantic pace, good fun!
Looks very nice.
Aw yis, that tail whip is sweet!
Congratulations on finishing your entry! Let's see what you guys come up with next time, when you aren't spending a lot of the time learning how to use the engine :)
Instantly add to favorites.
Pretty sick controls and feel. The randomness is the monster though.
Your use of video processing is an innovative touch in supporting the mood. Great work!
If pollution was the good guy, then I am the monster. 'Cuz I kicked pollution's ass.
I actually didn't realize it was top down at first, due to the initial player placement and wall color choice, the wall actually looks like the floor in a platformer! The story is interesting and the descriptions are nicely written. I played through multiple times to see if there was a different outcome.
I Wanna Be The Guy, psychiatric ward edition.
Awesome. A nice accompaniment would be some printed manual style cover art.
Very challenging!
Interesting little journey with a pretty effective mood and nice ending.
Now I want pizza.
Not sure how the service cars button works. But I love the idea of the game.
Soooo good. At long last I can get revenge on those damn snowboarders. Thank you for this.
murder was the dish that they gave me
Yes. Now I am the mimic. Fun!
Congrats on completing your game! Next time you should package the game into a zip archive to make it easier to download.
Super kawai kraken!
Beautiful.
Funny use of theme. Drunkula's walk is hilarious. Love it!
I like the background story on the menu.
Wonderful!
Cool ending screen. Congrats on your first LD!
That audio creeped out everyone in my house. Awesome.
Interesting concept!
Snake's gotta snake. But did the government really have to go kill everyone? Damn this goes right to the top.
Cute graphics, funny words, silly setup. Obviously you need to finish the story, but this is a nice start and good progress on a framework.
Fantastic. Themes of growing and nurturing very strong in each level. Game mechanics support overall themes. Sacrifice as another component was a nice touch that wraps up well in the end. The game took a little experimenting with to grok the mechanics, but it all comes together pretty well. Well worth the play time.
It's so cool! That aggro system really worked out :)
Awesome! I look forward to seeing this played competitively at evo.
Great color and lighting, its glow in the dark chalk. So cool. Pretty fun too! I like the ending text, it's so matter of fact. :)
Really beautiful nostalgic presentation!
I actually really like how the paddle wiggles around sorta unpredictably. The bouncing works really well so you've got to be quick to capitalize when it's at the right angle. Like the game says, with skill (and infinite retries) you can achieve your goals!
I like how simple it looks. It's cool!
Really neat presentation. The first step is hard, but once I knew how to explore it really came together. Don't really understand the story, but I can tell its personal and a feeling did come across.
Hey this is not baaaaaaa-d at all. Pretty fun herding game. Such a good dog.
Wow that's a fantastic look that definitely uses the theme. Gameplay was fun. I would have liked the camera to follow quicker as there were times where it was following to far above and I couldn't see where I was going to land.
You know what the movement controls and camera clipping remind me of? GOD HAND!
Really cool adventure game, good art and sound. Although you would have liked to make it possible to polymorph into anything, I wonder if maybe that would make the game too hard? but then I guess you'd just have to be careful to make the game solvable in more than one way! Sounds like a lot of work! Anyways, great work!
I enjoy the earlier levels more than the later ones. The movement gets too glitchy when the dogs and people are so bunched up and it was easy for me to mistake a sudden shift in position due to the pathing as a shapeshift, which made it unfairly difficult. On a different note, the presentation is fantastic, really well done!
Hey guys, thanks for the feedback and sorry about the tutorial after every restart, I'll do better next time. ratking... how did you do that?!? If you are tapping fire rapidly then that is by design :)
Thanks for all the feedback guys. Totally with you all on the tutorial, it was just something I should have found the time to fix, but didn't. Again, sorry!
pkenney, I totally get what you mean about not wanting to shift. I actually felt the same way while testing it. I think ultimately I just didn't get it to work as well as I had imagined (which to be honest was early Saturday morning as I groggily made my way to the toilet). Better balancing, especially shape of player and enemy spawns might help, though it's doubtful I will revisit this. Thanks for the detailed feedback!
Ahhh, I repro'd the ridiculous fast shooting bug! Haha, it is actually kinda more fun when you don't have to worry about pressing fire.
Surprisingly difficult. A lot of charming artwork. The audio is trippy. I like it.
Gameplay felt great, good job (the blocking animation is glitchy though).
Really challenging game!
Hilarious. So much audio! Don't think I can finish it either. Couldn't figure out how to stop paying video games. JUST LIKE REAL LIFE.
Welcome to LD! This game is weird and funny! I like it. Get's real difficult to kill them later. The audio is great :)
I don't think Johnny was destined to survive the night. I tried though :)
That collision on the dad made me laugh. Wish I could be like this kid again.
Nice relaxing game. I completed two rooms, but I got stuck in the big maze one. There were boxes that could only be pushed left or right in vertical hallways and I was unable to get past those.
Interesting! I liked piecing together a narrative in my own imagination. Love the simplicity. Very good!
Wow you really captured the old school feel with that unforgiving hit box :) I really love the look of this game too. the gameplay definitely takes me back, reminds me a bit of this game I played on the TI-99/4a called "Shamus". Also enjoy that evil laugh... :)
Interesting! This fun game matched your title pretty well I think! I got the feeling that this game is telling us to take opportunities when they arise, because when the moment passes you might miss out forever! But also that you just plain can't have it all so you gotta prioritize. Especially adding time to the clock, always go for the clock! My best score: 3593. Now for some bugs: Retry didn't work for me, it would restart the level but then immediately end and start adding my previous score. When I refreshed the page the audio was missing.
Really good job making each move feel important. Sacrifices have to be made, especially later on in the game. I do wish that charging would also trigger an attack. I felt the difficulty really does ramp up nicely for a short game. Good!
I enjoyed this a lot!
Awesome bullet time roll! So good :)
That. Was. Fantastic! Wow what a great trip. The music was great, you did a good job matching the feel of the room with the tunes. Really cool exploration of the character controller's quirks. I enjoyed every minute and even managed to get to the end.
Simple and fun use of the theme. I've never been to a hotel where the elevator is your room :) I liked the audio a lot too!
I definitely needed the hints for this one, but got to the end finally! Took about an hour even with the hints, but I did it :)
Got up to 15 on my last try!
I had the music climax at exactly the time I finished a really hard level that took me many tries. Felt good man! Great game.
The masked guy animation is my favorite part.
You hit it out of the park @pkenney!
Cute and original. I found the timing is very hard to pull off consistently, dashing my hopes of becoming a comedian. One technical issue: 'continue to next scene' and 'slap with fish' are the same button, causing unintentional skipping of the score screen while zealously slapping.
Seems nobody else is playing, so I can't play it either. No singleplayer?
Too punishing and requires a lot grind. I think next time make your game more accessible so that more players can see what innovations you are trying to bring to the table. Good luck!
The game over screen is my favorite part... seein' that weird little dude.
Thanks for the free typing tutor! Has some bugs though...
You are absolutely right @pkenney , x2 seems to low of a bonus!
Hehe... I sorta like watching the world sink under the water. Also, I noticed I was able to have more houses than the displayed maximum.
Wow! This is really fun. The feel of movement and seeing the blob fill space is really well done. There's a satisfying crunchiness to it all. Get away from me shark blob!
Great use of theme. Never would have crossed my.... mind! :sunglasses:
Darkly funny. Now go see a shrink! lol The art was good too!
I'm having the same problem, can't get past the first part.
Very harsh bosses at this job. I get fired after 2 days everytime, the penalties are very harsh!
I like this power grid concept. You all did a great job on this.
I have no friends to play with :sob: Thanks for having a single player option. I found the mouse sensitivity crazy high, got turned around a lot. Thankfully the flares help.
After messing around for a bit I found how to switch ships. I take it the object is to get rid of the space junk?
Oh lol... I had totally skipped the How to Play option!
I might be an outlier but I like my bunnies soggy. Soggy with gravy though, not water. So I was certain to save them so they could be properly gravy'ed later. Nice little puzzle game. And thanks for bringing puzzlescript to my attention. Cool!
Interesting concept! I was unable to pass level 6. I even tried a brute force approach and try every combination to no avail.
Nice game, good message. Clean up after yourselves ya filthy animals.
Nice job getting a tutorial in, that helps a lot. One thing I quickly learned that others will need to know: mouse wheel zooms in/out. I think the mood of this game is pretty scary, and reminds me of Wall-e, the planet getting overrun by trash. I like watching all the ships going back and forth between planets, especially once I had quite a few colonies! Good work :)
I hadn't thought about it, but snake fits the theme very well. I think if you wanted you could make it even more about running out of space by making the walls close in as well. Nice work on your first LD!
These darn salary men polluted my beautiful park :( I thought this game was very funny! Thanks!
Cool idea, and fun. Seems to be a few bugs with the clones though, they dont do 'exactly' what you did before. But that's ok, still cool!
I love the models very much, great weird funny look to them. Do wish I can invert the mouse up/down, very hard for me to play. It is also difficult to judge size of bubbles.
Wow, obviously top marks for audio. Great song, love how it is narration as well. Appreciate that the music keeps playing without restarting after I inevitably fall off the edge. Good work!!!
Did a small update to fix getting stuck in walls, make the controls a little snappier, and add tutorial about the gates.
Works fine in Chrome except for one thing. the P button for changing perspective repeats really fast even when i just tap it, making it hard ot get the right perspective. Really fun concept, and I've had some nice "ah ha" moments playing through. I'm not all the way through the game yet, so far made it up to the dark spirit! Nicely done :v:
Those poor smiley faces. I really like the shop where you bust people out of cages.
i like it, you did a lot with just a few scenes. Well polished too :smile_cat:
I keep forgetting what each place does. Seems you could keep the labels on there instead of making it a separate screen. The concept makes sense, but it's still really difficult, my village does not do very well at all :cat:
Excellent service and succulent burgers. Well done!
Very nice. Difficulty was easy, but perfect for LD as it lets your idea come through.
I find going through the highway part really satisfying. In the end all I had was chores, so I imagined my character was obsessed with having clean clothes. Its a nice entry!
This game has got some nostalgia for me. It reminds me of old dos action games I had sittin on the hardrive when I was in middle school, it's great. I could never beat them, but I would boot them up every once in a while and relish the graphics and sound. Nicely done.
I like how big and chunky the visuals are.
Great work! I love the writing. Very funny and surprising stuff throughout.
I really like this idea. I hadn't thought about how we have to sacrifice one thing over the other due to time. I also like the summary at the end. Oh and the preview as you hover a card over the other is a great UI touch. Nicely done!
I laughed out loud. :smile_cat:
I had an orange cube once, but it turned blue again somehow :crying_cat_face: I do enjoy my little zoo though :island:
Interesting game for Pico 8. It reminds me of random old simulation games in the dos days that I had lying around with no manuals or help files. Just press all the buttons and observe what happens. I managed to settle in on grinding up resources but I hit a runtime error. I was sending a bunch of small bots at the time.
:lollipop: Funny and colorful. Epic title screen too. Nice work
I managed to save 6 :cat: I like that there were so many different actions to try out.
Very cute. Pretty challenging too! :smile_cat: :smile_cat:
I got a hang once that forced a restart. Pretty cool little game, definitely captured the feel of the era. Very nice!
I found the story compelling!
Nice, I dig number puzzles!
darkly funny, cool music, nice aesthetic and cute blurby voices. good work to all!
Wow that was pretty difficult, but I survived!
Funny!
Smashing thieves feels amazingly crunchy. Very well done game feel. I really like the art, the happy train face made me smile too. I collected my reward... and smashed some protesters along the way :cat:
i like that the levels have a lot to explore
buggy, but not bad. i made it through 3 races i think before the ai completely bugged out and was driving into a wall. The art is beautiful.
really nice vibe, i especially like he higher up the pyramid you go, the more ethereal the music and visual become. nice work.
OMG some of these branches are hilarious. I'm crying from laughing so hard. Thank you for making this! :joy_cat:
Nice bird chunks. Satisfying to shoot. I'm hungry now. :cat:
landlord of hell is a very cute devil
:sob: i'm sorry for your loss. zep seems like such a sweet doggie. thanks for sharing
Fighting was too hard, so I just tried avoiding the spiders and traps entirely. With the kind of crazy velocity this made for a fun time.
I was wondering if it was a bandanna or a cyclops style goggles. My questions were answered once I got laser. :kissing_cat:
Got sauce all over.
nice arcade game feel!
Heh, the music change whenever you [spoilers] is a nice touch :joy_cat:
Took a few tries but i finally won!
I liked that there were a few different switch types. Kept me guessing at what was going to happen.
Beautiful graphics. Being a noble in the dark ages seems like kind of a bummer. Keep dying. :joy_cat:
I enjoyed this the setting and ambiance, I tried to speed run through it at first but I couldn't remember where all the spikes were. Not sure if there's an ending.
Looks like fun! Sadly I don't have 4 controllers to play it :sob:
Excellent, interesting idea and very satisfying to complete the map. Well done!
"Pachinko?" I sneered before playing. "Pachinko!" I cheered after winning. This was unexpectedly awesome! :smile_cat: Well done, team!
@samh I wanted to do as many as possible, and 3 is the amount I was able to make presentable in the 16 hours of actual time I had that weekend. :v: Perhaps not the best idea, but it was a fun effort. :joy:
@pkenney Thanks for your input! I like to think of the shelter game as a sort of metaphor for life, some people have an easier time at it, and others get burned by lava.
Or maybe I'm just rationalizing away a bit of lazy development. :spy:
I enjoyed this puzzler a lot! You explored your mechanic well.
I really like the monster art as well as the units in general. I found movement fiddly, I would have appreciated some locomotion when grounded, even if it was super slow compared to flying, just to make up for missing the control panels by a few pixels. I think overall this is fun idea that would also be great as a co-op game.
The begging phase is really harsh, but I think that is OK because it makes you think about life, you know? :smile_cat: Really cool game!
I really like the skeleton animations. He looks so happy to stand up again. :smile_cat:
Aw, collecting snakes is so charming. I thought the various descriptions of their traits and their names was really cute too. :snake:
Maybe it's intentional? We are starting with nothing, not even a game to run. :joy_cat:
Very funny. I hope you got some sleep this weekend.
Delicious melodrama. Quite a blast to play too.
I really like audio art pieces, so no problems there! :smile_cat: Sidenote: reading through your source, I didn't realize webaudio was so powerful, definitely want to check this out. Thanks!
This is one of my new favorite clicker games. Each new stage was really surprising. Thanks for tuning it to be playable in just a few minutes!
Ha yeah the window size thing was confusing at first, but it makes sense now! :smile_cat:
Plays quite well!
Really nice sprite work. I enjoyed exploring this little world and meeting the people and animals. :smile_cat:
As mentioned before the Twin Peaks vibe is strong. I definitely felt like this was set somewhere in the Black Lodge. Good work everyone!
I really enjoyed the setting chosen for this, and the writing overall. :smile_cat:
Very nice pixel art. I liked the water level! :smile_cat:
This like when I would be playing sim city and get bored, then just start crashing planes into the city until it was gone. :smile_cat:
Really fantastic work, team! I am wowed! :smile_cat:
The ideas from ldjam.com are so valuable! :joy_cat: If only it were so easy for us to make that kinda money! fun game!
Really nice music. I liked the kobold sprite too. I hope you make more pico-8 stuff :smile_cat:
10 minutes, 10 seconds to clear. Who can beat it? That was really fun and silly.
I feel like the version I downloaded is not the version in the video, the orbs move extremely fast!
Is there a way to re-position the part without restarting? Interesting idea!
Starting with no shot is a nice little twist for shooting type games.
Gameplay is awesome. I love the dual modes, and how getting combos prolongs the match 3 phase. Make it an app! (edit: oh you made Swap Sword?! Squeee I love that one :spy:)
Easy to pick up and play, controls worked well (I used mouse and keyboard). Only one problem with the theme... you start with a dodge :spy: hehe, j/k It's fine! Good work, and props for being one of the few to use godot!
THIS IS YOUR FIRST 3D GAME??? What a great entry. I really had a blast. The sliding was great, if zany at first. Just riding around felt fantastic. But once I found the brakes it was time to smash bots. And smash I did!
I have one question: will you make more of this game. I'd love some loops, some long curving ramps, maybe some pipes full of bots to smash. A driving synth soundtrack. There's a lot of potential for more. Also what is the lore behind this place?
Great work again pkenney!
Wow this is a nice frantic virtual pet game . I like it a lot!
This is the best version of post apocalypse world i've seen recently. Love it.
CUTE! :rainbow: :unicorn:
This is fun and funny! I like how frantic it becomes, really throws you into the fire right off the bat. No slow tutorials, perfect! I didn't bother reading the instructions until after I played a few times. It wasn't too hard to figure out what to do after a bit of trial and error. The game loop is fast so it's easy to experiment and figure things out. I also thought the sounds were fantastic. Nothing gets you motivated to do the work like the grating sound of a crying baby, right? Good job on this!
Very nice looking game. I think it could be fun, but I think it might be broken though. I was operating on a soldier. The instruction told me to press some weird key that i cant recognize. Then the soldier disappeared and i was stuck staring at the bed.
bunnerse-weirdkey.png
I explored the world a bit and that was really scary. I managed to pull a soldier back to the tent. And that seemed to work one time, but then I couldn't save any more. They all just disappeared when I made it back to the tent.
Sorry you weren't able to finish. better luck next time!
This game is good fun. I love the characters artwork, feels very retro.
Very stylish and cool.
I like that used game of life to run the fire. Very interesting, though it does make for some pretty random gameplay! :joy_cat:
I like the outdoors theme. tHe yell is funny sounding and it did exactly what I expected. Come back here with my sticks you beavers!
Really nifty shmup idea! I like it a lot, and it was a nice fun play.
Grats on completing for the first time! A few suggestions for future games: make the projectiles much bigger, they should pop and be super noticeable. Have autofire on mouse button down instead of mashing fire button. Lastly, when you distribute, name the zip file the name of your game! Be proud of your accomplishments! :smile_cat:
Heh this is a pretty great take on farming and crafting.
This is pretty funny. I got a little lost. I love how the arms reach towards interactibles. Really made it easy for me to understand what to do. It didn't seem like my fire would ever run out though.
I met him. I really like the weird atmosphere and vibe to the game.
I did not make it to the bottom. The platforming parts were too difficult for me. I like the art and sounds!
Nice challenge. I really like how the flare ups add a sudden burst of projectiles. Very minimal but elegant design using so few moving parts.
Can't wait to find the true ending! :cat2:
I really like the simple controls. The art is very cute too. The difficulty pacing is pretty spot on. Ramps up over time, but doesn't take forever to do so. Really good work and hope you continue to jam!
165 was my score.
She got eaten by a horse I think. And then by a ravenous deer. This is why I'm not a vegetarian. If you dont eat the animals first, they will eat you.
I like the idea but the controls and camera are pretty janky!
Nice little shmup. That 80's style hitbox tho :joy_cat: Oh yeah, and that title is awesome.
Fantastic! Bounce control feels great. Those gates add just the right twist. Nice simple and clean presentation too.
Unfortunately I lack even the most basic c64 emulation skills to even start the program :sob: It looks lovely from the images!
Hanging out in the partyween is great. I didn't mind staying forever.
Oh these controls are super fun! I love how simple they are but there's quite a bit of nuance to it. Very nice!
Really interesting loop mechanic. Rocking sound and nice visuals. I am very bad at the game though and couldn't even get past 2nd level.
Ah the daily grind. I should self hire myself too. very funny :smiley_cat:
That first jump doesn't seem possible. Spent a few minutes trying.
Really pretty. Put on some vaporwave while playing this.
Very nice presentation, I found the words pretty random but interesting in their structure. I really liked the atmosphere of the audio and video too.
This is very interesting. I like the madcap feel of the physics, how the jackhammer bounces off the player character. A lot silly situations occur where I'm trying to get on the jackhammer and keep bouncing it away. I also like the way the blocks react to getting drilled, that's a nice detail!
I didn't dislike frogs before, but I do now. Who knew they'd be such jerks? I like the way the next areas are visible in the hole.
Nice a simple idea, executed well. The only problem I ran into was that the game viewport was larger than my browser window, I didn't realize this until I was flying near the right side of the map.
Nice fun simple game. One thing I wasn't sue at first which things were good to run into and which were not, but not a big deal. Learn pretty fast.
Take care of your bones please, people.
Nice effort for a first stab at godot! :robot:
Simple and effective design. Would be great for mobile too!
Love the look and feel of the environment and character art. I did get a fair bit lost in it.
I loved this! Innovative way to execute on that theme! Enjoyed it immensely.
I like the mood of this, and the graphics for the fish are interesting how they are only partly visible in the dark. I made it down to around 200000m before my fingers got tired! Is there an ending?
Interesting mechanics with the camping and dreamcatcher. Very creative! Difficulty is brutal.
Very fun, very LOL. but the LOL makes more GLUB! lololol :blowfish:
Very creative, brought a smile to my face for reals.
Tip for any that might have a similar prob on Windows, if you've got multiple inputs in your sound setup, make sure your mic is the default input!
I think the cursor was a little hard to read, and I would prefer a slower pace option. Very cool game though.
Great atmosphere, very descriptive writing!
Cute! Music turned out well, too! I had some issues with the hit detection on the grasses and flowers when searching, but was able to figure out where to stand eventually.
The writing is really nice in this one, I enjoyed getting a glimpse into the guards personalities and hints at their lives outside of their posts, without it being too wordy. It was a good balance!
Will we be able to revisit swan forest in the future and explore it more? I hope so!
Hit the theme right on the nose! Perfect! Mood was good, very effective.
Took a few turns to get it, but yes, once you get going it makes a lot of sense. Really well done combination of rules. Interface works really well too! Nice job.
Its cute! I enjoyed this little adventure.
I really liked the character. It was cute!
Wow! This is a fun use of the theme and a very nice innovation on racing game!
Interesting premise!
I love the creativity shown here. Interesting slightly spooky mood. The way to uncover the text was neat.
Interesting concept. I need a strategy guide tho!
Very nice. Just a few simple rules and actions but it creates a pretty complex system!
I thought the tractor beam control was inventive and really fun to use.
Very nice. Gots a great arcade retro feel to it. Love the minimalism.
Nice job on the presentation. The game played very well too!
Wow! Congrats to you and your wife on that big life cheevo! And this game is quite challenging. It's definitely captured unstable physicality. I think the mouse control was a great choice as it makes the game feel much more wacky than button presses would. I definitely feel the balancing act this way!
That poor overworked robot. :sob:
Very nice and funny!
I love this audio, and I like the bird model too. I enjoyed the ambiance a lot, and just let it sit on the results screen for a time so I could soak it in. :bird: Oh yeah, title screen and bgm is awesome too.
This music is a MOOD. Nice work, brought joy.
This is a super cute idea. The concept reminds me of an old TI-99 game I had as a kid that involved bees. Hadn't thought of that game in forever. I hope you develop this idea further, Jenny could go on more adventures.
I like it. The hit boxes are retro game big. The graphics are lit. I think the gameplay twist between night and day is a fun idea. I learned that having a werewolf for a child is a rough life.
I kinda like that the crates spawn in and fall out of the truck. It's kind of a metaphor for life. Sometimes you things just don't go your way and alls you can do is keep on truckin'.
It's a nice practice project, and I hope you will be able to realize more of your goals in the next one!
This is cool, I figured out 3 of the rooms.
This is really nice. I like the simplicity of the controls. Very snappy.
:joy_cat:
Cats play an important role in the stability of many worlds. I appreciate your spreading this knowledge. :cat:
My next life as a villain. I feel accomplished!
I am not gamer enough to get past the 3rd checkpoint, but what I saw up to then was very nicely presented!
Solid fun time, dead simple. Very nice!
Congratulations on completing your first jam!
I removed the stable.
I like a lot about this game. The audio was fun, love the voices. The quests had interesting resolutions. I enjoyed walking next to things in the scene as it would make the character controller go kinda nuts. I also liked how the player wraps around the scene edges. It's interesting to imagine the place as maybe a sort of purgatory or dream. :hotdog:
Dang that is a sad story. We are all the toy duck too. :sob:
I liked this a lot, very funny and enjoyable.
I like the simplicity and purity of vision here. You simply must avoid being run over by an increasingly fast wave of traffic. The cars do not care about you. The game does not try to trick you. It looks nice, the controls are perfect and the sounds match the aesthetic. :red_car:
Interesting story, I like how it unfolded and surprised.
Good to see you back on the LDJam jam!
Thanks for all the kind words, I'm glad the hand drawn art wasn't too offensive.
@pkenney To answer your question about the music, in this game I used a combination. Most of the music was recorded from a hardware synth connected to a shimmer & octave delay pedal and then into a granular loop pedal. However the club music and the alarm clock were made in software. In previous games I used all software, but this time around I had finally learned how to make a decent setup and workflow for recording my hardware without losing to much time and focus.
This is excellent. The rebound of the control when it strikes the pendulums is very tactile. Drawing out the paths of the pendulums is an excellent touch, as it's always a mesmerizing thing to watch. The adaptive nature of the music and visuals as things begin happening is fantastic. It all feels incredibly polished for something that started in a different place.
Wow multiple games for the price of one! I like that one of the buttons is broken too. Really cool idea with the screen failing.
The machines are so OP. We woodland creatures don't stand a chance. :crying_cat_face: I like this entry. The music gives it an almost whimsical feel despite the life and death situation going on in reality. I wouldn't mind a version of this where you just build up a massive squirrel empire.
This is fantastically creative and charming. Even though the goal was to not let them sit... I ended up letting them sit just to hear the dialogue. Really wonderful little game!
I loved this theme usage. Sacrifice living things in a silly attempt to stop nature from unleashing the inevitable destruction. I liked the sound effects, in particular I found the different levels of noisiness or bitrate between them rather fascinating.
Is there a way to jump higher? Wondering how to get on to some of the platforms on the sides.
I like the gam over audio
I agree with above. Controlling the timing of the different effects is satisfying. The inclusion of a slippery banana is funny too.
This was a fun play. I like how generous the controls are. The music had a good bop, I like the toms a lot. The sun art was funny too, it was so devious and out to getcha. When I got to the end I thought there was going to be a dark twist :smiling_imp: Nice work on this!
This game made me laugh out loud! The goofy steering controls fits the comedic aspect. The way the character looks when he runs. And that inevitable pee. Very funny!
It was fun seeing the different options you chose to make available. Never thought that I could die from flirting, but I guess when it is your time to go...
I really dig the music, fits the setting nicely. Left me wanting to explore more of the ship, which is a good thing! I had a bit of a disconnect when I got to the part where it said I understand because I didnt understand! Overall a nice entry with a nice setting and vibe.
Head scratcher at the beginning, got better after I watched the gifs here on the submission page. the sprites are very cute, though I felt bad for devouring the cute bird!
This is definitely one of those cases where the "Fun" category doesn't really make sense. The graphics are nice and the audio while sparse is totally appropriate for the mood. Seems definitely a very personal project, I hope making this and putting it out there was therapeutic in some way! Well done.
Ah my carpet! Very interesting idea for the game. It was a little difficult at first because I couldn't remember rpgmaker controls  but I eventually figured it out after some false starts. The custom art was pretty cute! nice work.
Fun game, I really like the paint erasing mechanic.
Something that struck me as I played was how much I enjoyed the simple experience of 'balancing the books' to achieve victory. I also think part of what makes this effective for me was that there weren't a ton of options and variables to consider. Many turn based strategy games bombard you with numbers and stats and options. Whether it be from the time constraint of the game jam format or through intent, you've managed to create a simple but satisfying distillation of the genre. Cheers! :comet:
@liquidfunk I don't think the combat being shallow is a bad thing. I appreciate it. I think jrpg combat is shallow by nature, and games tend to just throw more options at it to make it seem less so, but ultimately its just a gate where you either have the numbers to bypass it or not. If you lose you reload the save and grind or hope for better RNG. Since your game focuses more on comedy, the combat feels more a parody of those mechanics. I also found it interesting that I wasn't sure if I could lose or not. I really liked the varied descriptions of the attacks as well, very creative and funny!
TL/DR I like the combat feeling like a parody and think you should lean into it even more!
Not sure what was going on but I couldn't shoot sometimes for odd amounts of time. I enjoyed turning around and seeing the zombie right there. Would definitely like to have more audio, especially cues from the zombies.
This was really fun and funny! The story definitely fit the theme much better than I expected.
Truly bizarre. I always enjoy unpacking strange interfaces and mechanics. This sort of thing takes me back to my earliest experiences with video games, when they lacked the space and processing to explain or tutorialize and game design in general was still being discovered. I especially like the way the audio was generated, very interesting technique, and creates a surprising ambience. Excellent!
I got some chuckle worthy parts, some puzzling ones, and some ho-hum passages too. I love this take on the theme, very surprising! Nice work!
I like the surreal aesthetic of this game a lot. It feels like a strange and magical place. The odd face balloons are great.
Gameplay wise had a rough start as I thought maybe I could not shoot, turned out I was pointing slightly at the ground which seems to prevent shooting. Was a bit confusing.
This is a nice submission for your first time!
With GDevelop, you could also export for web and allow people to play it right on the game's itch.io page.
The frog painting is my favorite. the visuals in general are great. I think the premise is hilarious, how you dug up or remembered a random reddit post for inspiration is quite funny. Physics games in general are hard to balance, but I think you pulled it off pretty well!
This game is really fun and funny. Great use of physics. I like that I could tether the objects from anywhere and that there was no restriction on range. The music is nice too.
Neat. I always thought virtual pet games were pretty interesting and wondered what happened to them. Nice to see one.
Alpha v0.2.9 thoughts: The various customization options are a neat idea, I didn't dig in and test them just noted that they were there. I like the street view with different places to visit. I think this is a promising project!
Worth it just for the fun lecture!
I had a lot of fun with this. Everything felt odd and a little glitchy which I really liked. It took several plays to start to understand some of the game. The music is just great, I like the snes era sounding instruments and the arrangement was both playful and unnerving. Something about having to die to win the game also just made me smile.
Most up to date version is always at itch.io: https://khaotom.itch.io/ten-seconds-again-and-again
Ah interesting, @mrwarranty. In hindsight I should have also put it on like Z or something since some browsers sometimes like to own the spacebar. You can also use right mouse button. (Also make sure some angy faces are around... or nothing will happen...) Thanks for the feedback.
Thanks all for kind words and feedback.
I spent a bunch of iterations to balance the later stages. It's much better now than it was at first. At one point you could basically one tap and combo the entire screen! I love the idea @roulette mentioned of gradually reducing the size of the enemies. It is a great idea and I wish I had thought of it during the development! :joy_cat:
I made a new expanded version of the game to celebrate Halloween. It's got more monsters and the mechanics are changed up quite a bit. The monsters can eat any candy on the playfield, so scoop them up quick!
You can play it over on itch.io at https://khaotom.itch.io/halloween-candy-rescue
Cute but brutal! One mistake and its the end. I enjoyed how the clock arm played in to the game, it actually does affect how you've got to play as it circles around. I'd have liked some sort of recovery mechanic, maybe a very timing based way to catch more of a bounce from the balloons, just to have a way to recover from small mistakes.
Really nice audio! I liked how each selection added its own part to the music. Very nicely done. I had some trouble with the collision on the character and found it hard to accurately know where exactly it was, I think a more noticeable shadow at the character's feet or more well defined feet to ground it would help.
Funny game! I am glad this isn't my real job. At one point I thought I was doing ok as my vision cleared, but then I still got fired moments later. I guess that's a mood too.
The 10 second time limit and ever growing list of special cases added to the laws just made for a truly horrifying world. The job was impossible for me! Very excellent idea, and the mood is truly scary to think about. I was actually relieved to be fired though for a only a moment  Despite the rush and struggles, I think you made something pretty innovative and unique! Nice work.
Not really a huge fan of rts these days, but I enjoyed this super fast and stripped down version! The artifact effects made a big difference to how I played. My winning strategies tended to be to keep building and hoarding units until the artifact was in my favor, then attack the circle. I needed a good mix, with a few ranged and hoards of rats to frontline.
I also liked seeing all the details in the bases, like the stairs down in the enemy base. Could there be a whole dungeon down there? Fun to imagine.
Fun game! Really great use of a replay feature. Wouldn't mind having restart level on a keypress, but otherwise no complaints!
I thought at first, well this is easy I can just avoid the bowling balls. Then I turned around. :joy: Was their audio and I had a bug? I didn't rate it since I heard nothing, maybe opt out! I would have liked for the pistol to auto reload when empty for a smoother gameplay experience.
Ah, i had a hard time at first until I remembered my ABCs. "Always Be Cocktailing". Once I learned to hold the left mouse down instead of trying to be to strategic I had better luck. Still no good end though... Quite a nice game and those chain reactions are satisfying!
I thought I would never be able to do it, but eventually my brain worked and I was able to solve the equations.
I was an infernal creature and they stood no chance against me. I noticed that sometimes I got the same upgrade offered, just one would be a different amount. Like one card would be Size + 10% and the other would be Size + 15% for the same spell, this made those level ups a bit disappointing as there was only one real option.
Interesting story. I like the art style as well. Also accidentally restarted thinking the button would repeat the current segment. I was a little disappointed when I found that each hidden object section was the same scene, but it's a short timeframe for dev so I get it. Glad you were able to differentiate them by having a different type of signal for the objects in each section. Music is great, love the vocals and the chop at just the right times.
I liked the underwater exploration and the progression from being short of breath to being able to stay out for longer and longer each time. The most difficult part I found was trying to swim back up through some of the floor cutouts. I think this was due to the turning radius of the character while swimming, if I was off and missed it I couldn't just easily circle back around, instead needed to back way up and aim like I was landing a plane. I found a blue key looking thing but it didn't seem to do anything and I couldn't figure out how to pick it up. Overall though I found it pretty engaging and I achieved victory in the end!
I like the optional gems as an extra layer of challenge that the player can choose to engage with or skip. I instinctually tried to skip the game over screen by pressing escape but that closed the game entirely and I lost my progress.
I forgot about the theme at first and was getting frustrated. Then I realized that 10 seconds passes and the floor turns to lava for 10 seconds before returning to grass  I think having coyote time would help with the platforming, to give it a little better game feel when jumping last second. I found it frustrating that I couldn't jump onto platforms when starting the jump too close, I'd bounce off them or not be able to get on the platform for some reason. The camera lagged behind too much, I would much prefer being able to control it myself. For a first try at third person it's not too bad! Reminiscent of early third person action games.
Nice, using proc gen music. I like the tempo switching as a use of theme. I found that the prompts didn't matter, I could just tap all the directions at once with seemingly no penalty as long as I was on time
Wonderful game! I was able to retire. Wish it was so easy in real life. Sigh. One thing I noticed is that I didn't really have to plant grass or make fences. I kinda haphazardly placed these down. Mostly because I kept getting the buttons mixed up so I'd place grass when I mean to place a fence. I blame Pico 8 for its button icon choices.
Very nice action game. I found the day/night shift a really innovative way to implement the theme. Web build worked great for me. Out of curiosity, what toolchain did you use to convert from love to web?
Lovely and charming game! The nostalgic art and sound take me back. The tutorial made me a little nervous it would be complex, but the game turned out simple and fun to play. I think instead of day counter that counts up, it would be nice to have a counter that counts down to the final day.
I like the speed of this game. The movement is quite fast, and there is no friction between deaths, just quickly get back into the game. I found myself jumping to death whenever i'd get an ability I had already completed the challenge with. Kinda dark.
Really nice presentation and chill music vibes. I like the switching between sandbox and real world. Eventually the 10 second theme gets to be a drag though. Maybe I just need to learn to be more patient.
I think I got the good end. You're welcome. I enjoyed it.
I saved Billy. Fun little grind game, I liked it! One thing of note, character movement was sluggish when tilting the left stick diagonally.
I think it's fun as a sandbox with no losing state. It was fun to just click around the parts and connect them. Maybe there is an idea for something there. I actually think the stress of trying to solve it with a time pressure would be a nightmare... in fact the original Pipe dream game should be called Pipe Nightmare and this one should be called Pipe Dream :clown:
I also dug the chill vibe of the music, and the low fi grit of the sound effects. I felt it captured the spirit of windows 95 days.
I took a look at esper, it looks interesting, might have to try it out.
I knew it. Bunnies are pure evil. Their art is cute though.
I appreciate that I could carry both rocks and water. I don't know why I didn't think to try this in my first play. The way the game has 2 alternating phases is really nice.
I think a less difficult version of this would be really fun for kids, obviously the tyranny of this 10 second theme makes it hard to do that right now.
I like the speed of the characters. Having 10 seconds with each character was a fine use of the theme. I think being forced back to the entire beginning of the game after missing one jump is a little too brutal though.
Nice spoopy month mood. Game is tougher than at first glance. The 10 second shot timer really starts to hurt once there are many mobs. Going 10 minutes is a pretty brutal ask. I could get to almost 3 before my earlier mistakes in kiting came back to haunt me.
I like the uplifting feel of the text. "Hi bro" and "Cheer up!" and "Believe in yourself!" It's nice to read these kinds of messages at a time I was not expecting them. The little world you've made here is fun to look at as the monsters move around.
The game was very easy, and I don't have a problem with that at all. I think could add bonus endings for having more and more oil at the end. Another idea is to have new game+ where more oil is needed to launch the rocket.
@sdelay You are the 2nd person I know to make that connection with snake. I didn't realize it when I was building the game though. In hindsight... yes it is kinda like snake with no tail!
Very cute game. You made a great team!
Interesting game. I liked seeing how the interactions would change based on the relations that the characters observed, how long you spent with them and stuff. Very cool detail.
The platforming feels good on keyboard, I was too lazy to go find my gamepad. In combination with the physics of the tomatoes and items some whacky situations arise with just the minor changes in level. I could see the difficulty being a bit hard sometimes, but also sometimes you can just be lucky. I think its a pretty fun and unique game!
Difficult game, rockin tunes. Found the premise pretty interesting and different, but I did have it backwards at first, thought the point was to prevent the bots from getting to the heap.
This is the best implementation of fishing mechanics in any game ever. Usually they make you wait and then you have to balance some push and pull thing. But this game? Nah, bear gets right to it. Love it.
Very interesting concept with a surreal mod. Fitting for Alice. It would help to know which tree I'm targeting at the time.
A good game. The computer annihilated me. Weeds are OP.
Love the screen dark effect when a monster is close, really helpful feedback when maybe your camera is pointed a different direction. Smooth running game with a fun game feel. The push pull of deciding whether to fight or sprint is pretty cool. I think visually its great too. Simple but classic. Great work on this.
The concept is wild! I love it!
Great ending sequence!
This is a really great multiplayer game idea. I didn't have an opponent to play against, but I could see how it would be pretty fun. I like the minimal art styling as well. You can opt out of categories like audio if you didn't add sounds btw.
Great setting, Good tunes and audio. I like the innovative gameplay, a mix of missile command and deck builder, very neat. I wasn't able to figure out how to upgrade cards, not sure what I was doing wrong. Overall really nice game.
Excellent game feel. Very nicely done!
Fantastic. Love the use of music for sound effects. Love the dark turn. I think an additional ending should be added for player like me that did the opposite of what the current end assumes we did :spy:
Cute and comfy mood, with a nice chill music. I love love love the character sprite and animations, simple and effective with a lot of charm. I found the lantern swing a little difficult at first but figured out the rules and then had not too much trouble afterwards. Really nice game!
Interesting story! I like the art that you got out of the ai, what kind of post processing did you do?
Very clever game, too fast for me, but I like that it's generous enough that I don't end in like 3 seconds and can learn from my mistakes.
The harvesting was soooo satisfying, especially after I hot rodded it out. I love the nostalgic quality of the game, felt like would be right at home on a windows 95 "1000s of games" cd-rom. Loved it. Great work.
I really liked the different perspectives on the same conversation. Lot of emotion in this game. Sorry for your loss. This is a very neat way to memorialize her.
Nailed the theme and the controls are a good metaphor of the physical labor that goes into harvest.
I think if you made an update where you just add the alternate controls it would be totally fine. I'm going to return to this after I get access to controller (I know it's weird, I don't have it right now lol) In what little I did get to see I enjoyed the audio and hectic nature of the game.
Ha this is neat. I love how different it is from other management sims. Nice work!
Love the irate customer audio :lollipop:
Seems interesting. I'm definitely seeing some signs of corruption: signs of corruption.png
Great concept! I think the spellcasting control work great on keyboard and feels good. I didn't read the instructions but got the hang of it after a few minutes of experimenting. It's a really fun little contest.
That is a lot of fun. I think the balance was just right for me, where I did ok but felt I could get better. It felt like there was always just the right amount of time for me to react. The art turned out great too, I like the curviness to the characters and props. I'm glad you powered through and kept up the streak despite the challenges!
I really dig the shifting layout. Always loved the idea of the world changing wherever you weren't looking.
I found a special room. :joy_cat:
Really nice job on the creepy audio and vibe. The game balance is also well done. :trophy:
Definitively captures that difficult NES era vibe!
Neat board game! I like the puzzle aspect of the delivery system. I think the reroll is maybe too punishing, or I was just really unlucky.
Nice deliver 'em up. Seems like it can generate some impossible to navigate traffic combinations.
This game is hilarious. The music is bangin. You get extra theme points for doubling up on the meaning.
Excellent. A bit out of my comfort zone, but I still gave it a shot and enjoyed delivering! It is a very unique take on the theme. :tropical_drink:
Excellent clicker! The theme is really fun.
Excellent qwop-like! I loved spotting all the references on the packages. Good stuff :lollipop:
Fun job. I like that there are two throw speeds. Pro-tip: You can use A/D to rotate the box too, a bit more ergonomic for one hand than left/right + space.
That ending! :lollipop:
This is a fantastic skill game. Love the combination of high flying abilities. I really like the look and metal vibe of it too, like old school 3d games. Nice work!
I really enjoyed playing through this. Lovely little space game! :cat2:
Love it. Excellent, surreal vibe and unique controls. Definitely came together in a fun, new experience.
Cute game, I like that there are two gameplay modes. And I delivered! customer rating 2.1 :lollipop:
Got this error when exiting by clicking X button on window: ``` Traceback (most recent call last): File "game.py", line 353, in
This is a beautiful and chill world to live in for a bit. I love the mayor's very very tall hat! One of my favorites thus far.
Fun gameplay! It's a little bit flappy bird, a little bit lunar lander, with a really cute grading system at the end of the end of the stage. Enjoyed my time with it :lollipop:
Interesting game. I like the unique interactions, for example the laptop being able to remote control the mower. I did encounter some bug I think where the remote control did not work. I was hoping that the skateboard would be able to pick up other items too. Overall, I think it's a neat idea.
The downsides are that the controls can be difficult to understand. I spent about 10 minutes experimenting until I understood what was happening. The help prompt is misleading because it appears during a time where the no item is selected, and the commands do not work unless an item is selected.
Maybe a bug: The credits list music and sfx, but I didn't hear any music? I played through a few times. The game gave me old NES era adventure-rpg vibes. Especially the type that I'd rent from the video store and didn't come with a manual and there was like, no explanation for why you were in this fantasy world or what you were doing. I love that feeling of mystery!
I like how sometimes your delivery is just immediately scuffed because the crates bounce and become unstable. :lollipop: I love the tiny tracks. It reminds me of racetracks I used to draw on paper back when I was a kid.
Aww, a wistful story. I wonder what the ghosts have against love letters.
Nicely done, especially with the limitations you were up against. I think it's a concept that could be explored more even.
I love it, looks like Green Hill zone in sonic. I like the manic nature of the game feel, bouncing and floating. Sometimes shots feel like they have no feedback when they hit enemies.
@zissou @irinam @ditam and whomever else is having trouble: Totally sorry, I did make the game difficult, but I had hoped that it wouldn't be unconquerable. I've posted a video walk-through of the first level to demonstrate how the hanging works, hope it helps, and thanks for playing.
https://youtu.be/l-0M24-XQOo
I've updated the game to 1.0.1 to fix the instructional text being cut off on Linux Firefox (you can see the bug in the walkthrough video) and made a few balance tweaks to make the game less difficult.
Fun little game! Definitely nailed the retro vibe. Ran into a weird bug where the shop menu kept automatically closing during one session.
I had fun as a king until everyone died. I like the push pull of growing and culling the population while the harvest adds a frantic element to it all. Great entry!
Echoing what's been said here, the driving is very satisfying. It has a great balance of control and zany. The art turned out excellent as well, I'll have to check out that blockbench. Despite the rush, I enjoyed the improvised audio effects. I went all gas and no brakes (I didn't read before playing  didnt realize I had brakes)
Yikes. That's got some feels.
The way to get ammo is very interesting though I did not figure it out until I watched one of the gifs in the description. After that I managed to defeat the bosses! Cool game.
Awesome gameplay, great tunes. Love that cinematic too. Wowsers! Also the perfect season for spooky games :ghost:
Awesome and clever concept fits great with the theme! I enjoyed the minimalism. One thing I didn't quite figure out was why sometimes my comfort zone didn't follow me until I moved maybe further away, is there some factors that prevent it sometime? Anyways, really good work.
This is a lot of fun! Would work great on mobile too, but then it would be "limited touch" hehehehehehehehehe.
I got all the candy and now i'm the candy king.
It is a very silly game, as advertised.
Thats a very interesting and new gameplay. I made my own sound effects while playing!
Super cute :cat: ! I found the controls pretty zany, which I like. It takes a bit of practice to get the right coordination. Its a cool combo of needing to brain correctly and have the right reflexes.
Very clever!
Very beautiful and serene. My troubled heart was soothed for a moment. Love the choice of colors. I think the way the blocky world appeared to endlessly crumble with the cube particles was just lovely. The puzzles were pretty chill. I'm not sure If I was meant to hit the spikes in order to warp back to the start or if that was me exploiting. Lovely little game!
I liked it. Chill exploration, light puzzles, cute aesthetics. I escaped the moon, though it was a nice place to visit, I guess I gotta get back home anyways.
Very cute explorer game. I like the character art. Growing plants to use as platforms is interesting! I had some issues where the character would stop moving forward when walking along the flat ground. Overall nice work, hope you had fun!
Life in the Flesh Pit is hard, yo.
The card enhancement makes this much more interesting than at the first glance. Might have to check out this mystic vale you speak of. The ui is well laid out and works well. I wonder about the balancing, I'm probably missing some strat. Is a cool game!
Nice, congratulations on your first entry!
Nice Halloween vibes, just what I was looking for!
These riders always find something top complain about. 2nd rider in particular was very hard to understand. Love the chill piano backing music. It soothed my rage for a moment!
Interesting concept, especially after a certain event (I won't spoil here) happens. Also, after that I did run into an issue where I lost ships and could not buy anymore to replace them (nothing happened when I clicked buy).
Very cute art and sounds!
Very cute story. I got a good ending! :art:
It's nice but intimidating to see the whole map on screen at once. But also feeling my age squinting to see it. Good choice of contrasty colors saved the day there. I like the level of difficulty. Seems tough but not insurmountable. Checkpoints are a good choice in this case as there is definitely a lot of ground to cover and the possibility of death is high. Really neat little platformer!
Edit: One bug I just found while I scrolled down here to leave comment, when I scrolled back up to the game the character is missing. I have to reload the page.
Nice variety of minigames and they are all pretty fun. My favorite is definitely refining the gems out of the geodes. I think the time limits maybe were a little harsh, and it's a bit of let down when the timer ends in the middle of a task, it might be nice to let the player finish on their last piece on some of the stations. I didn't quite get how the workers affected anything or maybe I was hitting a bug. I also got in a situation where I couldn't complete a day because none of the stations were responding to my selection. I really love the concepts here!
@flamingrat Oops. Sorry 'bout that, it is only documented on the webpage, but you can press the minus or plus(equal) keys to raise and lower the volume. I'll add a note to this page as well.
Wow movement turned out excellent! Funny thing I was mashing space so good that I mashed right through the ending screen and out of the program lol. Nice work in record time!
That was a fun little experience!
This is fun! I absolutely loved the crazy expressions on the cookies. The encircling feels very fluid, and not too strict. I agree that having the imps break the circle was best left out. I worked on a game with the same encircling mechanic a few years ago, and we left in a similar circle breaker. I think it made the game more frustrating than it needed to be. So, you made the right call in my opinion, despite the amount of time sunk in. As for difficulty it definitely scales up and by around summoning 11 is where I start losing ability tor keep up. I can get to around 14 or 15 I think. It's hard to tell because by then I'm definitely not looking at the counter. Really fun stuff overall. I think it would work pretty good on mobile too!
Had a good time with this. It's fun to experiment and figure out how exactly the fire would clear out the gems. Surprised at the ai music, didn't know we were so far along on that front. Wowzers!
Love it. Atmospheric. Brutal. When I won my first war and was like "Hot Darn that was profitable!" and then saw the number of deaths and felt a little sick. Hits hard.
A nice puzzle with a great vibe. I love the concept though I felt it was shoehorned into the theme (been there, no worries.) :cat: I had trouble determining which tiles matched the dice colors. Two factors: 1st - I think you could increase the size of all the graphical elements and lower the detail of the dirt texture around the play area, so it doesn't conflict and obscure the tile borders. 2nd - Going full-screen or changing the window size was disabled for some reason.
I like it, the art is cute and the gameplay not too difficult to learn. I liked that I could body block the opponent's summons. The music choices were... choices. :cat: I ran into some weird glitches when trying to select cards, sometimes they just wouldn't trigger until I moved my mouse around a bit.
That was awesome!. I think having to manually collect the coins made for an interesting risk reward. It took a while but I was finally swarmed. In the end I took out around 3200 templars. I was being stingy with my moneys though, so maybe could have gone even further.
This is fun! The zen mode is a great addition. I would have liked to have a visual effect for collisions.
Wowzers! This just plays great and looks great! You managed to stuff in an impressive variety in the mini games for just 72 hours :medal:
Coffin puzzle was hardest one for me. But I got it. Nice, dark, point and click game! I think my favorite part was the bmbzon order.
Cool idea. The notes are interesting to read. The music is chill and the art is charming. Unfortunately, I failed to deduce the proper placement every time. I am a bad witch! :sob: A suggestion: a skip time button so that I could iterate on the placement without waiting.
Simple, fast and enjoyable for what it is! I enjoyed the speed of the character movement, and the zaniness of the battle overall. It's a good start to your game dev journey. Hope to see you round these parts again!
There doesn't seem to be a way to start the game. It says press 'any key' to start but no key seems to start it. I notice the number buttons spawn the items. but the intro text remains.
Further, the downloadable version is 'not found' as well.
I like the combination of simple task that is filling the water, with sudden emergency task of identifying which bell to click on. It's quite neat! Nicely done.
Funny game. Loved the hollow wooden bonk sound of the canoe hitting goblins. Would have loved to hear an equally silly reaction sound from the defeated goblins. Like maybe something similar to the roblox ooof.
Very clever balancing act having to take into account minimum and maximum values. You used that to good effect in the puzzles. And adding in the half dollar was a truly diabolical move. Excellent!
I did it! Beat all 9 levels and became the greatest spellmancer that ever was. It's got some good ideas. It is very rough around the edges. Despite that I like it a lot. I think it would be easier on the player to have alternate ability be a separate keybind.
Yes, the wee giraffe rises!
Cute art and nice puzzle design!
@oliver-day The photos are taken by me. The giraffe lives at the Los Angeles Zoo. The bird was encroaching on my breakfast during a trip to Seattle. The beach is San Buenaventura state beach in Ventura California. The night scene is from my apartment balcony. The rest of the art was drawn by me in the Construct 3 sprite editor.
Funny game, and well put together! I really felt the plight of the trash bird on the beach.
When I run the .exe I get: ".NET Assemblies not found. Unable to find the .NET assemblies directory. Make sure the '.../data_Harmonies_windows_x86_64' directory existsand contains the .NET assemblies."
I feel bad for the little fellas.
Cool prototype!
Beautifully bizarre! I loved it!
Fun funny game!
Nice mystery. I drowned in the details like a fish outta water.
Very cute!
Ah perspective, my archnemesis we meet again. I think I'd prefer a peggle style aiming cursor rather than the drag and drop. Fun concept nonetheless!
Heck yea! Weird and wonderful!
Nice and chill.
Cool vibe! Feels more 70's to me. Had a hard time with the capture mechanics.
No!!! I'm a monster! :sob:
I survived long enough for there to be so many enemies that the game framerate slowed to a stop :joy_cat:
What? Is this a drama for ants? :joy: Oh, it is! I loved it!
I couldn't figure out how to shoot but it's ok because I flew to the top of the mountain and then I didn't have to shoot, and I could just be me. Sorry to hear about your friend's dog
Bye bye bats. Good tunes
Very good. I love the look and feel of the game. Reminiscent of the adventure games of my youth, while having much more polished modern mechanics. I made it to the end too.
Awesome concept! Well done indeed. I think it's a keeper of an idea to build upon.
I'm back with a small bug report: Noticed an issue where your score carries over into the next game after restarting. It looks zeroed out in the ui, but as soon as i collect another gem, my score jumps to to the previous run's total + 1.
Interesting concept indeed. Feels like theres quite a bit of strategy to learn here as the mechanics are subtle. Thus far 16 has been my best score. I feel like there's a metaphor to real life in this game as well. Something about inevitability...
looking down at as the cable disappears into the inky darkness below accompanied by absolute silence is one of my all time new favorite moods. I think you chose just the right amount of content for a ludum dare game.
Nice and juicy. Pacifist mode: Hanging out by the wall is totally safe and you can just endlessly dig, making murder unnecessary unless to satisfy your own bloodthirst. :imp:
It's weird and the lore is funny.
Ah clever idea. I like it. I managed to actually destroy a few enemies too. One unexpected thing to note is that if you are moving at speed, it seems you will run into your own torpedoes and immediately die.
Nicely done puzzle! Enjoyable difficulty. I cleared all 8 boards.
I really like the wonderfully weird lore. so many questions about this world you've crafted :joy: Nicely done.
I like it. Got knocked out of bounds and was able to escape the level completely. Restarted around 900m. :clown: I am inspired to make a submarine exploration game in the future.
On my best run I was well on my way 13 mines but through thoughtlessness died to collapse. Very cool concept and very juicy execution.
nice mixtape!
This feels like it could have been in the arcades of my youth, the sounds and feel of the controls. I really like how the shots are controllable after firing, and how the enemy shots hitting the surface become momentary hazards. Has a unique tactical challenge to it. Nicely done!
That's one crazy doctor! I won kitty's freedom in the end. Nice roboprograming puzzles
Really nice game. I enjoyed the exploration and seeing all the new creatures as I descended further. Although I enjoy the upgrades, I think the pace is a tad too slow without having a way to save progress, would love to be able to continue my run later.
Very cute. like the slingshot aspect. Funny how the infinite checkpoints is useful.
i yearn for the mines! 26 minutes 3 seconds completion time.
mood.
turn the crank. hold the lever. watch the numbers.
are they meters. feet. inches?
vision blurs.
turn the crank hold the lever. watch the numbers.
the walls rattle. maybe next time i dont turn the crank.
turn the crank. hold the lever. this time i dont watch the numbers.
blur.
I think the contrast of the visuals could be increased in service to making the game more accessible. The volume of the sound effects vs the music was jarring. Small nitpicks aside, I enjoyed this cute and clever puzzle game. A nice variety of mechanics were explored with the different personalities of the fishes. Well done!
Very silly!
Interesting game about a cell phone thief with bad breath  I like this take on the theme, very out of pocket
I like squidventure. Squidventure made me happy. I'm glad squid got a good ending.
I like how the list of technologies used is longer than the actual game :joy: Very interesting work. I have more questions than anything, and I love that.
Awesome mood. Love the wraparound edges. Hard game but just get stronger.
Fantastic. Really fun variety to the gameplay as more virus are collect. Love the ending!
thanks for playing! technical note: you can technically keep collecting as many hearts as you feel like. the count is stored between sessions in local storage on your browser so you can return to the game any time and get some more.
is any collection truly complete?
@avhatar it is endless. i haven't tested what happens if one were to fill the whole room though.
@ghettobastler it is! the heart actually has slightly different platforming mechanics, it has a double jump. and theres a secret way to get it to triple jump.
Feels good to be a tower bro. And now I don't have to be just a tower bro, I get to be three.
Fun! 13 something minutes, True ending got. I was laughing quite a bit, specially noticing that as the game progressed the production seemed more and more hurried until the ending had me full laughing out loud.
It's so wholesome :sob: Really nice cozy puzzles, great art style. And the voices really made it special. Great!
I am the collector.
Game looks great.
I work to corrupt.
Darkly humorous work here!
I love the combination of ideas in the game! Really good.
i wonder what i wanted so bad as to be stuck with that life
So cute! So happy to be able to help complete the special soup! Bon Appetit everyone!
Cute game! Graphics are nice, though it turns my pc into a jet engine space heater. I love that the different trash give different gameplay effects. I'd prefer with no timer, but I get it, lotta gamers crave dominance and as devs we gotta give them what they crave!
Fun upgrade'm up game. Feels super good once I reach strip miner status. I mined and upgraded until I realized that no matter how much gold I collected, there would only ever be the mines. The houses which lay beyond my cage could never be mine to enjoy. The seesaw would be left unridden forever.
I enjoyed this great little trainer for reflex and matching. nice work!
It's a fun game! I don't think you should put yourself down in the game text. it's a jam game and no one should be expecting perfection! That said, I think this game has really good bones. you even added a post-win bonus mode. that's great!
On my first run I didn't notice the 2 different powering modes, as indicated by the text in the top right corner of the screen. for future players, make sure to pay attention to that
Based on your childhood? WHOA! I like the double mechanic same time idea, that's tough but fun.
Really cool ideas in this game.
"Are you familiar with the sense of bitterness when you are not able to get all the achievements?" Yes. But I've come to accept it. :joy: Nice work on the variety of games in one!
thanks for the feedback so far all.
@pkenney the idle break is randomly timed. and foolishly i did take out the start jump anim while running, i agree i should have left it. there are only 6 stages, plus the somewhat hidden interlude screen, and then the secret ending. it's not a lot of content due to me getting a late start, and not crunching like i did in my youth. there was definitely more possibilities i'd like to have explored with the signal generators.
@purrseus Hi and thanks! There are 6 levels which loop, and a hidden ending screen that will appear once you've discovered everything. Your progress is saved in your browser, no need to do it all in one session.
The tileset is killer! Really well done. How did you like phaser? Impressed you got such a polished feeling game despite switching to new tools! I love the serene lake scene right before the final level. A very nice touch. Sometimes you gotta leet off the gas and just vibe with the little world you created. :thumbsup_tone3:
Super! I loved getting the different endings. Full of charm. And now I have to check out wareware too.
Nice little game! I escaped 2 out of 3 times. Take that cosmic horror!
Great use of the theme! Loved it. Did have to turn down the sound a lot of course. I also think it would be hilarious to use this control scheme in a first-person game. Quake with dog whistles.
This title can also be spelled as Glory Toyss :lollipop: I enjoy the darkly humorous setting and plot. Navigating the area is quite fun as well. At the first glance, I was put off by the morse code, but you kept it simple and palatable. Nice job!
Super interesting! I love it. It was fun to figure out the controls and what was being asked of me. I really like the post it notes and that I could move them around, very nice touch. Great work!
It's a cool idea for sure! I also have the issue where I try to install a relay and it makes the fart noise and takes ALL of my credits (I had tens of thousands and it did this), but no relay appears on the passing ship. Seems to have started after playing for a while. Despite this, very cool little gem.
Funny! I think I beat the game... the clock stopped at 13:40 and I ran out of planes to land.
nice and creepy. love the mystery and exploring the environments.
Very cute! I took the axe home with me.
cool environment to explore. i didn't engage with the buying and crafting part but i did find a tasty looking red mound which ended up being my demise i think. nice!
Fun as heck. Love the visuals. Never have I had so much fun aiming at balls before.
Unfortunately I was not able to save the world and now we all have headcrabs.
at first i felt the instructions were unclear. if something feels off? what does that mean. but then i saw it and i understood. nice work.
Has a feeling of playing an old shareware off an unlabeled floppy disk. No idea what to do but walking around and trying things out is fun for a time. One thing I'm not quite sure about... Am I meant to interact with the papers(?) on the ground?
Bouncing shots off the edge was surprisingly fun. Only issue I had was the audio volume was very low. with the sliders maxed I had to really pump the amplifier to hear anything. Pretty weird. I really like the dense UI, it reminds me of games from olden times.
The whale song one was the hardest to do, that one i had to resort to trial and error. the others i was able to tune by ear. very fun take on the theme. nice work!
Really love the little touches, like being able to smoke the pipe. So thankful i found the maze map, i was almost about to go grab some paper and start mapping it myself :map: Definitely will return to this to make it through more days. I am curious if we find out why the dance music is the "bad" signal  Good work!
You can convert it to the EXTRA category and keep working on it!
interesting mechanic that could be explored more. could see it as part of a larger game, maybe a survival crafter. i found it humorous that i lost sanity when initiating a scan with no scans or rock available, and when mining with no rock present. madness indeed!
