the punch animation/art is great!
I appreciate the intros in the game description. Helped set the mood
Similarly encountered the textbox issue! Also had trouble moving after gravity shifted. I do like the lighting/color scheme
The attacking movement feels good! It's hard to nail
Respect for using UPBGE! What a trippy game. I think the low FPS deters from the game a bit, but otherwise it was fun! I think the music was a big mood setter
Very cool toy! The controls were hard but maybe that's part of the fun
Love the artwork
The background was an interesting choice, but for me it worked well!
I enjoyed the art style!
I enjoyed the art style!
The parallax background is a nice touch! I also appreciate the manually drawn planet -- gives a lot a character to the game!
To do in your own engine is really impressive. I like the rendering/lighting/shading of the game.
Love it. The art work is great and the gameplay was smooth. I also appreciate the build w/ Java :)
The swerve animation is really smooth, nice job!
Sometimes I'd have no vision of what's around the corner until I turn it, which leads to a surprise police trap. But I guess that's part of the spirit of the game.
It was hard but I liked it. I was quickly humbled after thinking how dumb the robots were at the start.
Love the audio work!
I love the concept! Also the drifting/back tire tracks were a nice touch.
Crashing into cars might feel more impactful if they didn't disappear immediately and there was a pushback/bounce to the collision.
Same; nothing showing up on the itch.io page
I love the silly walk animation :)
It felt quite polished given the gamejam timeline, well done! Personally this theme created too many "sad" games but not your team's fault by any means
The less you have to work with, the more you need to use what you have well. I think you did a great job with the visuals.
The puzzle aspect with the time loop is smart, and funny. All my dead characters lying around.
Something about the graphics on the spider when you reach the top made me crack up. Love it!
The audio was simple but fit really well.
That felt really nice to play! I liked how enemy ships fell onto the ground after death -- almost like ragdolling in games of humanoids. And then to be able to harvest those ships -- great design!
I think some sort of warp animation would have added to the experience so it doesn't feel like loading the same-ish world again after warp.
The visual polish is quite good!
Personally I thought the "left boundary" for where you could aim was too narrow, and so I couldn't aim the way I would have liked to.
Congrats on your first game! I enjoyed the facial expression of the main character :)
The moment the objects collided with each other, I knew it was going to get hectic :)
I also enjoyed the game over screen!
@white-rice Thanks for the feedback! Yeah with more time I would have liked to refine the UI and add some crowd visuals :)
@vitor-milioni Appreciate the feedback! I agree there's lots of opportunity to expand the speech possibilities -- I like the idea of mix-and-match.
@anhievus @chairshot-games Thanks for the feedback! Given the theme, losing is inevitable but yes, we could have given more indication as to what lines help delay the ending :)
@arttu-halonen Thanks for sharing! Sometimes the generator does spit out some great quotes :)
@sakura-magika Thanks for sharing! And yes, I was hoping for one of the other themes :)
The answers do vary the patience drained, but it's fairly random. I had thought about adding a sentiment analysis engine, but running sentiment analysis on generated text seems like a crazy loop :D
You asked about the style and animation -- I liked it! Although the controls were difficult, the actual character movement was surprisingly fluid. There's definately areas for improvement, but where you did spend effort, I think it shows. Well done!
I like the death messages; it was a nice touch.
Overall the game play was quite smooth for a game jam, so great job on that!
That was fun! It felt pretty polished for what you did get done. I like the character model and the walking animation.
The opening artwork was fantastic!
It took me 3-4 lives to realize I could walk through the cabin/house after burning down the wall. Also, some indication how when my "jump charge" was full would be helpful.
Love it! The theme led to many games about delaying death but I think the humor in this game separated it from the rest.
Love the Spanish segment and the progressively lost hair :D
Felt quite polished! The fear set it quite quickly as I started, which is great
The customers smiling after I entered their price was my favorite part :)
Great mood setting! The audio choices work well
One nitpick -- large download for a fairly simple game
Love the artwork and mood. Maybe having more crates of different shapes would have kept it more interesting. Though I'm not sure if that was a challenge you wanted players to have
Love game jam games with a leaderboard :) Very smooth feel to the game.
@ausstein if we had more time, we would have added logic to increase difficulty as you played, until you eventually lost. There was also an idea to add levels to the monsters and matching a dungeon with increasing level order would be part of the rating system.
I've always had trouble programming platformer games so I have extra appreciation when I play one and it's smooth and solid. Great job!
When you see the instructions say, "See if you can get 3 points", you know it's going to be a hard game ha!
Nice touch having the character rebound if you pull for too long
