Really fun connection of adding the tamagotchi into Lucas life and i way to deal with his loss. Nice art considering you didn't have alot of time and a different choice of pet! Good job!

Really fun connection of adding the tamagotchi into Lucas life and i way to deal with his loss. Nice art considering you didn't have alot of time and a different choice of pet! Good job!
This was very fast pased and as soon as it started, I found myself just clicking around on anything I could and not really noticing a change in the numbers due to how fast they would decrease anyway. I think I lasted around 3 days this way. I found the extra menu you'd added, like in the fridge, helpful and more interesting by giving the player a choice than just "eat food". I really like the artstyle, it's clean and reads well. Great entry for compo!
Really cute little game! I like that the torch light also had collsions with the objects. I also enjoyed the conversation in the background between the 2 campers :D Only thing i found to be a possible problem was that the player walked under the radio: radio.JPG But it didnt affect the fun gameplay :)
I found the colours and music used suited the sad story in your game really well and helped set the overall mood. The art was nice and co-hesive.
The characters sprite continuously animates even when standing still. This should be an easy fix by checking if the player is moving of not. If not, either set the character to an idle sprite or to one of the frames in the current sprite that most resembles a standing position and set the animating speed to 0. With each room that had a choice, i was able to re-eneter and make my choice again. I think this is ok ifyou want to allow , and then going back to the nurse and saying i wont pay for treatment and my dad then died. This doesn't make sense and completely breaks the immersion.
If you still want players to be able to change their choices, I recommend putting a few more checking in place. Something like, if the player has made the second choice, the first choice is now unavailable. So you would delete the option with the nurse or give her some new dialogue and use the same technique going forward.
Another thing that happened was after a few restarts, there were mulitple instances of the music track playing, this was unbearable and i had to restart the game! Again, a simple of check of, if this music is not already playing, then play this music, should work.
Congrats guys, good job, keep jamming!
Fun little game, nice art and music and enjoyed playing for quite a while! Love the way the guy continues to flail after death when being hit xD
Made sure to play this till the end as soon as I started playing, I loved the PSX feel and style!
The shooting was okay, I found that I absolutely needed to put the baby down if I wanted to fight off monsters, a couple times trying to hold and shoot and I was unable to defend.
I'm glad that you are given a chance to remedy the situation by allowing the player to be put back together, however, when surroudned by 4 enemies, It was near impossible to fend off any attacks and the robot was shortly blown apart again and the game was lost.
Really good idea, i'm glad that you guys are continuing work on this project and look forward to seeing it in future :)
Really nice clean art and cute little story. I am impressed you have developed this in only 48 hours!
I'm surprised you have only included controller support since most people will be accessing this website via pc/mac but understand this may of been down to time constraints.
I think you may need to increae the deadzone on the analog sticks as i was never able to have my character still. I know this can be a common fault with controllers over time but i have never had any problems with other games and mine is fairly new.
No big deal, but you have mispelt "training" as "trainign" on both here and itch.io.
Really great solo achievement! :D
Funny idea, found it a little difficult to manuver around with all the tasin going on (myself included). I liked the simple art and the sounds were fun, good entry!
This art is really cute and I love the atmosphere! I could not really figure out how to play properly so i spent alot of the time switching between the characters and trying to help them out with shields but wasn't entirely sure if i was having an effect. I really liked having allies, it's not something I have seen in any of the other games I've played, and I enjoyed being in their company! Beautiful entry!
Really lovely music and nice, simple artstyle! Abit vague on what the player is suposed to do, I figured out how to give the onion minion to the Granny, but shortly after she started following me, they kept getting stuck on terrain and eventually I lost the Granny. I'm not sure if the creatures got her as there wasn't any notifications about her or anything.
I stopped playing shortly after the guy asked me to find money. You've said that the project is unfinished so so not sure how much there was to do for the player here.
I raly like the crafting system you have here, after I figured out how simple it was to work, I was hardly ever out of ammo. It made sense in that world, that the plants would grow back rather than finding ammo packets on the ground!
Really cool idea, very creepy but well executed! I felt the heartbeat to be alittle too bassy but that might be my speakers. It took me a couple tires to figure out I had more than 1 battery as the instructions only hint at what to do. Good job on the game though and glad you managed to fix bugs :)
I found the controls abit frustrating at first (having to hold down the RMB the look down and having the mouse down to be back and forth etc), but i understand why it made have been coded this way, since the usual w,a,s,d controls were reserved for the car driving. I repeatly dropped the transplant under the seat and was unable to rescue it. I feel like this would have been a better experience for me if i played it in VR. I really like the idea and i'll be coming back to give it a few more gos!
Really beautiful idea, some positivty and hope for the future is what everyone is needing right now. I played a couple of times to find out what the other little little characters id missed were saying. The map showing your travels at the end really brings it all togther also letting the player know they can have different experiences next time. Really good job guys!
Gameplay was pretty easy to understand and the really like the artstyle. Your tutorial read well and i enjoyed reading your credits section!

Simple and fun game, really like the artstyle you've gone for! Kee4p me playing longer than most due to the rogue like feature of spending after you've died for a better run next time. Great solo entry!
Very fun gameplay and nice simple art! The animations were good and the sounds made me giggle. The only thing I didn't like about the gameplay was that your ducklings could almost disappear off the screen by being pushed by gnomes or the character and when they were so close to edge it was almost impossible to rescue them!
I like the idea of controlling different characters at once but I just could not get my head around the controls! It felt like the action where you have to tap your head and rub your tummy at the same time! Good solo entry :)
Hey, I tried this a couple times but I couldn't figure out how to survive or what the fail state was? I would drag my crads over to defeat the knights and drag all cards over to the egg that had hatch on them but after 2 turns it would be game over? Nice art and idea though :)
Really nice atmosphere created by the music, voice acting and artwork. I don't understand the choice to stop player movement when shooting, this greatly increased the difficulty, but may of been the intention. Overall enjoyable and very polished entry.
I When I first started the game, I spent a little time exploring the spaceship to find out where everything was and since there didn't seem to be a timer or anything, I didn't feel pressured, so that was nice. Things started beeping at me and I figured I needed to replace stuff, but I eventually I found it a little tedious to keep walking back and forth through the ship considering the long hallways.
I really like the atmosphere, the art design and noises used. I felt like I was inside a spaceship and being the only person on board, made it feel lonely like space. Good job!
Beautiful idea for a game! Sadly, my music skills are not too great so tried to make you a nice heart shape instead:
Heart.PNG
The sounds themselves were gentle and lovely, however my combination I ended up making was bad enough for me to turn off my sound, but hopefully it looks nice. I would love to see what others were able to make who were abit more music competent than me :D
The artwork is really welldone and the comic strip at the beginning is a nice touch. Controls seemed to work well and i ddin't find any bugs! I wasn't able to find the "light" minigame!
Not gonna lie, clicked on it for the tama picture lol! Even though the gameplay is simple choices, I really enjoyed this as it isn't instant death and gives the player a chance to recover! Really great job, played it quite a few times :D
I had to play this a few times to get the hang of scrolling between the different times, but it was fun and I liked the idea :D
I really liked the art, it was a nice change from what I have seen recently. The voice acting was also well done. As for the gameplay, I didn't really get it at first but later found that it followed the style of cookie clicker, with the upgrades and such. Simple but story kept me engaged. Good job!
First of all, really dig the art, adorable! Feeding unicats tasty chicken and giving them old school gameboys to play for fun, whats not to love? I did however, have a few things to mention with the gameplay. When I first started, before i'd finished reading the controls, i was being attacked by zombie cacti: player health.PNG
Now there's a chance i'm just super slow at reading, but i feel like the game should be paused or this should be displayed on a screen beforehand. Once i got into the game, i noticed the difficulty increases, fast! So I really didn't last too long at all, every time i played. Since it's a compo game i recognise you don't have as much time for testing and balancing out things, but if you wanted to continue working on it, those would be the things i would first address.
Great achievement! Really well done :)
@sndr Hey no worries, as I said, very good job! I just wanted to leave something constructive for you to think about if you were planning on carrying on with it or to use in future projects :)
I attempted several times to try and find out how to interact properly with the game but I just couldn't do it! It was not until the 3rd try and I figured out you could open the door to guests! Even after my peeps arrived, clicking on them makes them disappear(leave the party?). I invited both of the guests in and clicked on the objects around and within seconds the game ended.
I feel like you may need to give a little more guidance on how to do things, as it can become a little frustrating. The music was good and the art cohesive and when I did click, things happened, so the game worked, but I'm just not sure how it affected the game.
You could maybe consider having little number pop ups above an item or person when something is interacted with? The overall "meh" meter at the top, is abit vague but may make more sense with other feedback to the player when they do something, like a a good/bad noise or happy and sad icons above heads.
Obviously we were all only given a short amount of time, so many it was your intention to include these things, but you can always edit your submission page to help players out!
Hey, what are the controls for your game? I spent a couple mintues clicking around the screen and pressing buttons but couldn't figure out how to start it?
Really great and fitting soundtrack, found out in the second playthrough you could sacrifice the campers! I got a few repeating mini stories in the same playthrough and many, many turns without wood, I'm wondering if there's a limit to how much you can find and eventually you HAVE to sacrifice the campers? Really nice art, clever how it was mostly done on one screen, I like the chalky portraits when telling the mini stories! Good job!
I must admit i am puzzled as to why he needed to place those objects down in those positions, even after reading it a couple times, but i guess its science. I found the puzzle to be quite easy, just took a while because of the amount of objcts to chose from. Soundtrack suited the "chill day in office" vibes as i didnt particularly feel any stress or urgency to getting the cat out of the box. Nice relaxing puzzle entry.
I found this to be quite a challenging game but I appreciate the innovative design and art!
Fun little idea! I enjoyed taking care of the horse and i liked the goofy artstyle :) Just a few things I came across that I think could be change or improved. When the shop is open, you are still able to walk around as the player, I feel like this shouldnt happen as you need to walk to the lady to access the shop. Whenever you have items in your hand, and you get close enough to the horse, they are shown ontop of it while you are stood behind. I realise this may be so that the player can see what they are holding, but i feel it breaks mood. Maybe the player could stand infront with it? carrot.JPG
Wow, as the levels went on i really started to get muddled with which plate wanted what! Fun little entry with a good idea and nice simplistic artstyle, good job!
I really adore your art and it was pretty easy to get into and have fun with! Really good achievement for entering the Compo! :D
First proper tower defense game i've seen! I really like the style, reminded me instantly of Bloons! I did not know that you needed to click on the button in the upper right hand corner to collect money until the third go and was thinking it was really mean that we couldnt defend the first wave lol! If you want to get more views so peeps can see what ya made, i suggest you rate and comment on others submissions! It affects where you show up on the "games" tab! :D
It's a shame you didn't get the finish the game, glad you have uploaded it and allowed peeps to try it anyway! I'm not sure what else you had planned for the game, but If you were to continue, I'd like to offer some considerations for it.
First of all, it seems to make no difference whatsoever whether the customer gets the potion in 10 seconds, or 10 minutes. They will happily wait for that colourful-looking cure(curse?)! And after they get their long awaited precious, they leave, no thanks, no payment, just straight out the door never to be seen again. The similarities between other customers is meerly a coincidence, obviously they all shop at the same store.
With this in mind, I would maybe try to implement a score system, the quicker served, the more points you get. These points may be portrayed in money or some other currency, whatever you like. Thing is, now the player knows they get a reward for doing something and the better they do it (or quicker) the bigger the reward they get.
I would add some sort of shop background interior, doesn't need to be fancy. Guys a potion seller, not a boutique. Normally wood and stone suits the genre pretty well.
If you still wanted to improve it, I would suggest some sort of punishment for the player, a fail state, a "oh damn, I gave that lady the wrong potion, shes going to be using rat poison on her face instead of skin restoration solution". Maybe it's when you make the wrong potion and try and give it to the customner, or maybe its just when you make a wrong potion and then need to throw it away, just something for the player to try and avoid to make it a little more fun. You could even mix it up a little more and add a timer on each customer, making it more likely for the player to mess up and have to pay the price.
I hope I was of some help and you consider some of my ideas if you plan to continue working on the game :)
The art reminds me of paintings from a childs storybook, incredibly charming and nice to see a different look. The UI was displayed nicely and I was quickly able to understand the goal. I did find the jump to be abit too floatly, almost felt like i was gliding around the map! Still, fun to play :)
This was really fun! I intentionally ran itno the police officers "sights" to seen how long I could last trying to avoid them! There was a few times the animation would be jittery on collsion but the animations themselves and the art style is fantastic! bug.JPG I did come across this bug on the side of the "world", thought a screenshot would help.
I really liked the artwork, it's so sweet! The music went really well with it but did get abit repetitive after a while. It's nice you were able to care for different animals with different minigames, I played a few times to see which ones i hadnt played yet! The only troubles i had was i couldnt get the egg to hatch and sometimes the toothbrush would get stuck in the crocs teeth and i couldnt move it again afterward. Great job guys :D
Nice challenging game with a cute artstyle, i had fun!
I really enjoyed the soundtrack and artstyle here, I could not figure out how to get rid of those naughty gigantic bug things that kept eating my lights! Apart from them, the mood was calming and I enjoyed being in the world you created :)
Cute artstyle and easy controls! It was not immediately obvious to me who i was playing as at firstbut figured it out quickly!
Hey, this was a neat idea! I don't think i've sene any other like it. I would recommend that you upload a title image for your game and maybe one or 2 on here. Also, you can get more visability by rating others submitted games, good luck!
I'm not great at bullethell games but i made it to the sth level! Art was simple but nice and I feel like it controlled well. Good entry for compo!
I really liked the art in this game, its a shame there wasn't much animation with it. When i first tried to fend off astroids with the person, i found the gun to have little to no affect. The rotating planet guns on the other had seemed abit overpowered. I didnt't feel the need to go back to the person after using the 4 guns as i could just hold the LMB down and slightly scroll left and right and the astroids werent even making it onto the screen anymore as they'd already been destroyed. I feel you may just need a little more balcne testing, otherwise i like the idea and could see it being expanded :)
Reminded me of the wario ware type games! really nice idea for an old couple marriage. The only one I couldn't figure out how to interact with was the fly and the digger.
Such a dark take on the theme! Good idea! Controls welland the art is nice :)
I got to 265! As there wasn't a limited number of bullets or anyt pentaly for shooting whenever, I found it quite easily to defend against the monsters. It was the timing of the heart that eventually took my health down that ended my playthroughs. Fun little game and neat idea, good job!
Extremely polished entry! Seeing inspiration from Vlambeer with the screen shakes and artstyle. It was great that you managed to fit in a mini interactive tutorial at the beginning. I wasn't able to get past the first level however, as I found it quite diffcult!
Really beautiful artstyle and lovely calm atmoshphere! Even after reading through the instructions a couple times, I could not figure out how to use the crafting menu properly or any real goals to work towards. Maybe possible crafting recipes would be of help as I spent time cycling through items and coming up short everytime. I would like to give this game another go in the future :)
I made it to the end! Really cute design and enjoyed the bomberman style puzzles :D
This is a fun idea for the theme! Really nice to play something fun and silly. I couldn't read the writing very well when it first started up to tell you how to play. I'm not sure if it has maybe become stretched when put to fullscreen. I was able to figure out how to play anyway! :D
I like the art and the idea seems easy enough to play. I kept dying and wasn't completely sure why. The duck will somestimes go straight through the rocks so it was unclear. After a few tries I was unable to interact with the duck at all, meaning i couldnt actually move the duck to avoid the crocodiles! Good try for a solo project!
Really cute art! First reminded me of an old game called james pond, i think its the way the players chracter stands lol! Quite difficult, i ened up not going for all the apples. Really fun with a sweet story, good job!
I had quite abit of fun with this one, fast enough that i could evade enemies but enough obysacles to slow me down so that i would need to panic! I didnt realise until my second playthrough that you could light the sticks on fire and then throw them at the enemies, this made it alot more fun to play. Good job!
Really nice artwork and fun game concept. Easily reminded me of plants vs zombies, just a little smaller. Good job!
Really great achievement for a solo game project! I also got my sounds from zapsplat lol! I would mention that theres a double jump as I didn't find out until a few deaths. Great job!
Cute little story with a fun twist. It took me quite a few tries to get to the end, I found that jumping quite abit before the end of the platform would make be the best bet for making it over to the other side!
Really beautiful artstyle and nice idea for a less used perspective, enjoted this little gem :D
This was such a beautiful experience, when the alarms were going off it actually had me worrying about keeping the plant alive! I love how the music evolves as the plant grows, especially as it first kicks in as the sapling starts growing! The art is amazing and the gameplay was fairly easy to grasp. The only thing that I started to become frustrated with is some colours i had no idea how to make. It was easy enough if it was like a solid green, yellow, blue etc. but when it starting asking for purples and things, id be scrambling around with the meters unable to find the right colour until it died. I think maybe a hint to which bar should be moved might of helped. Overall great job! :D
So maybe the scientist should think about getting a different pet because this monster is super demanding and Colonel Farnsworth has a chicken express space delivery to run. What if he needs to go read his mail, doesn't he know there could be someone trying to get a very important letter to him?! Excellent artwork with a fun story and easy to grasp gameplay mechanics. Nice idea to include a few different ways of failure and especially enjoyed the "how to play" section!
I was abit confused as to why the lounge was upstairs and the bedroom was downstairs? The art was sweet and it was nice you could name and create your own chracter at the beginning. I did'nt feel any pressure to do anything and disn't really see the bar decrease so was unsure on a goal, but enjoyed my time with it :)
I really like all the effects and style, I found it quite hard to back away from the enemies once they've gotten close enough and my health was just zapped away! Fun little shooter :D
I really liked the artstyle used and the lighting was well done :)
I found this platformer very difficult! I could not make it to the second mushroom after many tries! I like the art and the sound suits well. I think more time should be given for the hunger bar, because even after playing through many times, and knowing where the spikes and enemies are, I still managed to misjump a ledge or not quite get over an enemy and since theres no checkpoints, its very unforgiving.
Thank you for the feedback guys! There is a controls on the Itch.io page, but I'll add some here. I intended the puzzles to be a trial and error but i can see how it could get frustrating, thank you for playing!
@sndr aww damn thats a shame, If i can figure out how to upload different versions, ill let you know. What do you use?
@turncoda Hey there, i really appreciate you taking the time to look at my game and it's design in depth. You make some good points and have given me a few things to think about!
So i'll start with what inspired me to make this game like it is. I really admire the environments of older pixel art games, namely monkey island, runaway and the less older heart of darkness. While all these games had fantasy in them, the art is somewhat realistic and i wanted to try my hand at that.I wondered how i would be able to fit the mood of point and click games along with the precise platforming of heart of darkness.
Now in Heart of Darkness, the player can jump, all the time, but that game was also long with plenty of environment and places to mess around in. Mine had 10 planned environments and if the player did infact have the ability to jump all the time, they would skip past all the puzzles (maybe not the snake) and completely miss the text. Now maybe that's their choice, but then, I wanted it to be rated on a mood and artistic view than be rated as a short, boring platformer. Which, i believe, is what it would of turned out to be.
With the limited timescale, i had to find something that would best fit what i was trying to make. So i tried the method of "you can only jump or climb in certain places". Which not only slowed down the player to read the text but also made it somewhat a puzzle game, of stopping and thinking, so it wasnt a complete walking sim. That's where the point and click aspect comes in, you can't just proceed by jumping around the place and it's not always obvious what you need to do next. I think if i had time to make a point and click, i may of tried that instead, but i also love platforming, so i'm torn!
So with the story, at the start of the game, you are talking to the postman, who you have found stuck under some landslide near the town. The actual gameplay itself, you go back in time and is showing you how the postman ended up getting stuck there. He's not reading the mail while he's walking. The mail is being shown to tell a story on the side of why its important the postman reaches his destination. Now whether or not the postman ends up reading the mail after he gets stuck down there, I didn't decide on. but at the end, you decide that in that situation, you would take to the letter and help the postman deliver it or you wouldn't. But the question is rhetorical, because that's where the game ends.
I realise that this type of gameplay has caused other issues, while trying to fix others, such as frustration for players, and i may have to plan differently for it in future.
Again, really grateful for the input and glad you gave my little project a chance :)
@jmad Thanks so much for dropping by! I was hoping you would after I had played yours, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I have had many comments about the jumping, It is something I really hope to improve on, my art skills definitley trump my coding ones! :D
Fun defense game with silly humour. I like that you gave the Karens comical voicelines, defintley added to the sillyness! It took me while to get the hang of navigating the map and using my phone strategically, there were a few times I'd need to keep running to wait for my phone battery to come back!
I never really ntoiced the tower health going down, they always seemed to target me first and all my deaths were from being attacked rather than failing to defend the tower health? It may of been that I did not suruvuve long enough hah. Fun entry :)
Hey there, You've put in the links "HTML 5" (web) which normally means, that the game is playable in a browser. After following the link there was only a zip file to download. dl.JPG After downloading and unzipping the file, this si what was in it. I double clicked all the files but none of them would open. folder.JPG When you get this working, I would also suggest adding screenshot or two on this page, good luck!
Good job for getting the game published so peeps can try it! A really good first try at a card game and unique idea guys!
It took me a while to figure out what I was doing, I went back to read the controls a couple times and experimented a little with the things on the ground. However, your meters depleted very slowly and so I didn't feel too rushed about messing around a little. I only found out how to feed this monster from another comment listed above after ive given it a few tries. I understand if you want the player to explore abit, because when they figure something out, it gives that "ahah!" moment, its exactly what ive done with my game lol! But i feel like you should let people know where to put the food, i was searching around the whole map for a monster to feed!
Other than that, the game is fun and the art is really cute and easy on the eyes with the colours used. I also spend the first minute of the game scolling my mouse on and off the "back" button in the options menu because it seemed to go really well with the music, like i was adding a tune of my own. Great solo achievement!
Nice idea, art was nice and simple but the gameplay was a little too limited. There was a red bad that would seem to follow me round until it caught up to me when i respawned.
teleport and then red bar.png
A couple times the game "restarted" i was stuck in the floor! stuck in floor.png
I think the speed/bullet boost was a good idea but i did not immediately recognise what it was suposed to represent. After collecting a few, my guy was able to fly across the ceiling and shoot from up there, but obviously not also see the plant. Good try for solo project!
@adriankrawczyk Please do not take my feedback as a negative! Of course, I understand the time constraints, i struggled with it myself, i think everyone did to some degree. I wanted to show you that i'd taken the time to test out your game and am only offering advice to help improve it. :)
I loved the adorable art in this, the extras to decorate the suroundings and pandas on the side was so cute!
Very difficult! you need to be very precise when jumping over the crystals! I would make an aroow or something so the players knows to go left, i ran to the right and missed the text so had to restart the game. The art looks really nice and fits well together, I'm going to give it a few more goes to see if it can get any further!
Hi there, unfortunetly I was unbale to get very far in the game as an error kept coming up in the fights I encountered. Not sure how it fit with the theme, but good try anyway! animation error.PNG
Hello! I defintely clicked on this one for the art! I was excited to find out afterward that it was a point and click game! (My entry was in the vein of, but I didn't quite get the point and click aspect lol). The art as I said looks really nice, pretty well done for a short amount of time! There were a few things that stood out to me, like when you clicked on the npc when walking into the market scene, the player would continue the walking animation on the spot. The fact that I could take the lamp before even talking to the sales man and i think the choice of dialogue sound didnt fit.
But otherwise I loved this and made sure to finish it! Thanks guys, good job!
Really unique idea! I loved the art :)
I don't recall playing this type of game before, so as a first experience i really enjoyed the concept and simple art! I didn't understand some of the icon/tools but I plan to play this one again!
Great achievement for a compo! Very well done!
Hey there, you've not included any links on your page for peeps to play your game!
I love the art, the background is perfect and the character really fits into the scene well. It's cool if you want the player to figure out what to do but feel like controls should be put somewhere, they aren't included on any of the pages or in the game itself.
There were so many fights going on :D, I found it hard to interact with things are first but managed to get the hang of it after going over the rules/controls again. I like your idea of head icons rathen top down and the design was nice!
Interesting take on the theme, I enjoyed my time with the game! It wasnt clear to me what the "sandwiches" were, so for the first few tries I was repeatedly right clicking on the first few enemies, which i think were toast? Anyway, i found out accidently that if you run into them with the toaster, he takes them out. I think that you may need to either change controls or add some more description about how it works. I feel like the art was nice but would of been better if it was brighter, the overall game room felt quite dark. Great solo achievement, keep jamming!.. and add some images on here!
I found this to be quite difficult as the amount at which things started to come down increased really quickly. I enjoyed playing around with the physics type gameplay though and saving the kitties :D
The art is the best thing about this game, the idea is nice too but i think there's a few things that could be added to gameplay to improve the experience.
The powerups are not really recognisable in what they do and actually quite hard to reach as they seem to have a very slow speed and a very low time span before they disappear.
The amount of zombies you start with is huge, i can see the game getting to this point after a minute or 2 but letting the player try controls and explore the area first with a smaller threat might be better.
the "dash" is more like a teleport, i think animation of some sort, like smoke or "dash lines" might look better.
Overall, fun solo jam game :)
The only place I've ever been smiling falling over scattered furniture! Very fun :D
Oh my gosh, some inconsiderate person came along and set my babies alight D:< I was quite upset I couldn't seem to rescue them form the fire :c
I like the message of this game in that actions affect others. There were so many plastic bags to pick up compared to food! Controls seemed to work pretty well but I coudln't always tell which things I could and couldn't pick up as they blended quite well into the environment. Really thoughtful entry!
This was a cute little game! The UI design was abit distracting and broken as you mentioned but It was still a fun ride! I liked the story, definitely not heard it before!
I like the idea but i found it really difficult. As soon as it loads you are almost instantly ambushed with enemies, i think they move a little too fast. I could not figure out how to use the sword or pike so ended up just running to find the end as quickly as possible and then rushing to find the dirt. I feel like if you introduced everything a little more gradually itd be easier to understand. Good job!
Great accomplishment for a solo entry! The art looks great and I enjoyed the music. Even though controls are given and there's a little sketch at the beginning for "goals", i did not understand it all and only found out on the 4 try that you needed to run on the treadmills! I think adding an aim in the description would help greatly! Also, If you want to get more views, you should play and rate others games :)
This was such a sweet idea! The music was also really cute and fit the game well. I liked that you chose a limited colour pallette and the simple art was nice. 1 thing that really let down the game was the inconsistent artstyle.
inconsistent art no words.png
The art itself was nice but there was different sizing on things. inconsistent art.png
So maybe ive spent way too long on this feedback but i made this to express better what i mean: example pixel.png
Hope this helps!
Hey there, really nice little game that youve made. The art is very easy on the eyes and the gameplay is simple enough that i think most people will understand it. Just a tip, if youd like more visability for it:
"To get a score at the end, you need about 20 ratings in a category. To get ratings: play, rate, and leave feedback on games. Every game you rate and leave quality feedback on scores you Coolness points. Having a high "Coolness" prioritizes your game."
I only lasted 2 days max over the times I tried! Very calm and entertaining tamagotchi like game. Gets quite diffcult with the many different attributes you need to keep an eye on, especially since you need to guess in what ways it will affect the stats sometimes. Simple design and noise added to the tamatgotchi feel, enjoyed this!
Those pesky bugs! Nice idea to have a juggling mechanic between the screens, the art was simple but read well!
Nice little puzzle game, enjoyed the simple but well made art. The music was fitting but got a little repetitive after a while. Most of the puzzles were pretty simple but there were a few I had to redo. I liked the messages on the wall, nice xtra touch! Good job!
Really nice idea, could easily be evolved and made into a full game! I liked how colourful the enivironment was :D
It took me a while to figure out how to play but the art looks really nice and It was fun once I understood :D
Cute little idea and nice art. I think using icons to represent things is fine, pressing the buttons quickly shows you what it does to the character ( except i didnt understand the ! one).
However, since there was no way of me being able to distinguish between background art and interactable objects, not only did the player have to figure out which moves you were susposed to do for which obstacles, but also what was meant to be an obstacle in the first place, which in my opinion, made it a little too difficult.
It's really great that you finished and published a solo project, hope to see more in the future :D
The art is so well done and defintely a unique idea for the gameplay! Adding physics to the moving objects, the text that goes with interacting and the funny animations really added to the games value! Very well done! :D
I wasn't really sure what I was susposed to do, the chicken wouldnt follow me and although it did the animation for picking something up and the game had told me I had picked up the chicken, the chicken stayed on the ground. chicken.PNG I walked around the maze farm for while and steeped on teh traps as I went, they didn't seem to have any affect on me so unsure what they were for. I couldnt seem to pick up anything else. I think you may to give clearer instructions. The models ere nice though :)
Pretty cool idea to have two players to control!
This was a really fun little entry, played until i beat it! Challenging enough to keep me entertained but easy enough to control and have some fun rolling around! Great job!
OMG, it made me jump when the screen zoomed in and the chef(?) starting chasing me! I REALLY Like this 3d pixelated artstyle.
So first of all, good entry for a solo dev! The art is nice and the text was displayed nicely. Just a few things i would suggest; in the control, it says to use the RMB, but its actually the LMB that you use to drag the things. I found it very diffcult to juggle dragging both of the things at once, the enmies were way too fast to guard against. I found that you could push the jam with the stick while holding it, this made it way easier, although im not sure if this is an intentional mechanic?
I understand that with the player being a snail, you made of wanted to mak it feel slow and diffcult to reflect a snails life, but i think changing the balance abit with the speed/difficulty would make it more fun. Ironally, what is the snail was super fast? Great job!
Wow, this was a great entry considering the time frame! The art was really nice and the music really set an eery tone. I found it difficult in the beginning but it got easier as it went on for the first few rooms. But when it started to ask for toasted cheese and salad (at the same time), I felt like i had to chose between the animals as i did not have enough time to make both! Fun idea, good job guys! :D
Unfortunately I was only able to collect 1 wood. I managed to get the character to "jump higher" a few times but I couldn't figure out how to do it well enough to reach the upper platforms! Thank you for sharing :)
Really adorable! I like the switch of roles as you protect your human instead. Will be coming back to play it again!
The top down style was nice and the movement worked pretty well. I got a little confused by what looks like a red meter being filled up by a green one, but from the left? I then found the red one went down when the wife got "injured". I would suggest spilting these 2 bars up for the wife, one for a medicine need and the other for health. UI confusion aside, i could see this being made into a bigger game :)
Very cute idea and art! I found the green blocks that break your fall, to bounce me up a little too far up and back into spikes haha! Really fun though! c:
Cute little game! I didn't get too far but the art is fun and controls work well!
Really nice soundtrack and unique artstyle. I was unable to understand all the riddles but I love the puzzle idea!
Cute little game idea, I never quite got the rhythm right with e A and D keys, occasionally I got a goos streak but wasn't quick enough to jump over obstacles! It surprised me when you added in a text overlay as well, I felt like the diffculty jumped up quite abit with the need to multi-task. I think with a little more balance though, this concept would be a fun little story! Good job!
Very innovatative entry and great idea for the theme! The only entry i was able to ever finish was just graphics hehe c:
Short and sweet, minimalist gameplay and controls made it easy to keep playing for a while. I like the artstyle too!
Very lovely graphic and interesting envirnoment and characters! After a few tries and talking to most chracters, I was unsure what to do next.I will probably pick it up again later c:
So there I was, going round my track loop, couple of fellows here and there trying their luck, no biggie. After a few waves I was starting to think it was going to be quite a pleasant and chill day AND THEN SUDDENLY MY TRACK STARTED GETTING ATTACKED BY HUMONGOUS HENCH GUYS AND CRAZY ASS RED GUYS COMING AT ME IN CIRCLES AND THEN FIRES, FIRES EVERYWHERE.
This was really fun and I'm glad you shared it with me! Here's my highest score yet!
scoretrack.PNG
Nice idea, I was a little bit confused with naviagting the washing machine.
Very fun game! I had quite a few tries but was unable to get pass lap 0 haha! Music was nice and I enjoyed the feedback when hitting the robots c:
Really fun idea, was unable to figure out how to escape the dream but enjoyed the experience!
I've seen this style of game a few times within the jam, it's a nice idea and has solid gameplay. I did however find that the diffuclty was ramped up way too quick for me, sometimes I would die within seconds from fireballs! With abit more balance, i think this would be really fun!
Really fun little game! Struggled to "eat" the food at the beginning but got the hang of how it worked soon after, i managed to pass a coupl levels and felt like the movement control were innovative and easy, great job!
Haha! Definitley made me smile! Cute art and easy controls. I really liked the arcadey feel. Great effort guys! <3
Very nice idea and i liked the simple art style. I found the life drained a little quickly for me to fee like I wasn having much of a difference. I also didn't understand how to use the first button on the left!
Cute little concept, its a shame you didnt get to finish it as I really like the style.
Cute little game, I really litled the graphics and how to chracter fit with the surroundings. After level 5 i got a little confused as to which pipes lead where and since there were so many, i decided to stop playing. The music suits well and the fx was also nice, great job!
The artstyle and mood was fantastic and it created a super creepy atmosphere! A little confused by the multiple views but otherwise great entry!
Really cute idea but was unable to navigate the worm effectively, ended up with a worm tree! wormtree.PNG
Very nice and unique idea, how the player moved around and the way the map moved with it was a little hard to look at but i understand why you did it this way!
Really nice idea and cute little graphics, although you mentioned it was imbalanced, I was able to both win and lose so great job!
I liked the 3d hosue design with the 2 d chracter, the checklist displayed was really useful and having it updated as tasks were done really helped. I wasn't able to figure out how to clean the pantry or take out the trash, but enjoyed this little game c: good job!
Fun little physics fire game, was nice to play around with the fire without the worry of a timer, my aim wasnt great but i did get there eventually haha!
Fun little physics type game, I found the music incredibly eerie!
Very cool idea and executed very well! Such a great accomplishment for a compo game, truly well done! <3
Lovely soundtrack and really nice art! I found out through experimenting that even if you are unable to move in a direction, it goes onto the next one, allowing for quite a few options, nice design!
Unique artstyle and very creative with having multiple game types. I like how the theme was included with the lifecycle as the loop. Good job!
Cute little game, it got a little disorientating when the screen would flip unexpectedly while i was trying to avoid clothing. Really like the art c:
Cute little idea of having previous lives help you to the next place! I found that the jump was already quite high and floaty (like a ghost!), so didn't use it too often. I did find towards the end of my playthrough that I got a little lost!
Such an adorable artstyle and nice idea. I was happily surprised by the multiple level designs, however, as the level grew, it got a little tedious to travel all the way back to the correct bin. Controls all seemed to work as planned apart from the auto pick up that threw me off occasionally. Great job!
Cute little game, not much of an incentive to carry on playing after a few rescues as the puppies seem to almost immeditaley escape and there is no reward and no lose condition either; I think a score would of been a nice touch maybe. c:
Great little game, fun to move and shoot. I struggled at times to determine which were pick ups and which were defeated enemies.
Clever idea, it was cool that the loop shrunk when hit to limit the players mobility, but also gave you more time to shoot enemies. I think if the mouse is to shoot, then the wasd keys should be used for movmenet as it feels more natural to have one hand on either side rather than both to the right; alternatively, arrow keys to move and space to shoot. Good job!
Nice idea! Gameplay works well and art simple but nice.
Nice idea, I enjoyed making the pictures as the puzzle pieces were fun to work with, the many different shapesmade it interesting!
Funny and simple. Not sure about the unstable part!
Really liked this idea, fun gameplay but gets hard very quickly!
Love my little robot helper friend! Nice art and cute idea! !
Fun idea! Charming character and music suited well. I found myself replaying quite a few times but just could not get past the pillar plafortmeing bit! great job!
Fun little game, I liked the mechanics and so glad for all the checkpoints lol!
kingchick.PNG
Good entry, art was clear and gameplay worked well! :D
Very fun and interesting game. Loads of fun physics to play with and entertaining gameplay. Good entry!
Nice game idea and fun halloweeny theme! Very lovely art :D
Wow, such an increbile amount going on for a only a few days work! Loveable characters and very nice environment design. The physics, references and comedy made it all that more enjoyable! Excellent entry! thsiisfine.PNG
Excellent game! Wanted to play this till the end! Great ideas and fun puzzles. The minimalistic art looked nice and helped show what was important. Great entry! hazmat.PNG
Really fun game! (yay collecting plushies with a claw!). The art was interestijg to look at and I liked having the collection bar to see what I've caught. I managed to get all the plushies, but I'm not too sure how to score works on each machine? Great job!
Nice idea, could not figure out how to control the plane properly. Nice simple artstyle!
Very original idea! Difficult to get the hang of but loved the art and music!
Nice idea, couldnt get very far as I found the puzzles to be quite challenging!
Very nice art and fun game mechanics! Enjoyed playing this for a while c:
Beautiful artwork! Unfortunately I wasn't able to figure out how to get past task 2, but will try again soon! :D
Nice music and atmoshphere! Handsome waiters and excellent table service. Would order biggest glass of wine from here again! Very fun little game, good entry!
Art was great and gameplay worked pretty well. Good idea to use the overcooked design but very easy to continue for a long time. I think you've done really well for a solo project and would urge you to contiue learning Godot and see what else you can make! Curious as to what program you used to make your models? Do you have a Twitter or something? :D
Nice art and good mechanics!
Such a great Idea! I played this quite a few times trying to get a decent looking building! You need quite abit of patience!
Very fun and hilarious game! Sound and art it very good and mechanics were fun to play!
Nice art and fun ideas. I found the hidden one in the dark :D
Very cool style and adorable sound effects!
Very cute little idea! Loved the encouraging comments! You can do it Mike!
Sad and eye opening use of the theme. Simple gameplay but engaging story. Good entry!
Lovely game, really liked the tutorial at the beginning and loved the art!
@draconimous @noctiluca Thank you both, I can say I would not be here without your encoruagement and friendship throughout the last couple years!
@sprunth I'm glad! Me too! It's why I put them on the menu screen and placed one in the level at the beginning, I couldnt resist the cuteness!
@bloodbane 500? I'm glad you played for so long! I admit I wasn't able to balance to difficulty very well, I think to improve, it would help if things got faster, maybe I could add another thing to juggle? Thank you for playing!
Art fo rthe chracter was nice, had a hard time finding which part of the map I needed to get to to stablise things but liked the idea!
Colourful cute game! Slimes are super fun to bounce ontop of, even though I know it's not that aim, hehe C:
Loved the voice acting, reminded me of pciking up recording from the side characters in borderlands! I managed to find all the atpes and cool down but after many attempts, just could not get back to the reactor! Great entry!
Very good idea! I was able to find the code and activate the button a few times but could never last long enough for the end of the countdown! Great job!
Nice game, physics worked quite well!
Amazing idea, great art and really fun to play! Proud of you both! :D
So so fun! I Played this so many times! Very fun and entertaining entry!
Very appealing art and fun music. Cool idea for gameplay mechanics, great entry!
Fun, silly physics game. Had difficulty sometimes when the indicator would go underneath objects, but spammed until wriggling free!
Very fun little entry! The artwork was very nice and the side mini game was a great idea! Not sure how long people have lasted but happy with my score!
cauldron.PNG
Very fun idea! Enjoyed experimenting with the folders. Really loved the Mr.Bean-esque dialogue!
Nice art! Controls were a little tricky for me and it got difficult pretty quickly! Had fun playing though!
Enjoyed all parts of the game! Really surprised me and enjoyed the experience even more!
Nice idea, fun juggling mechanics with nice art and sound!
Made me smile quite a few times, I liked the voice acting, the pill reminded me of worms games haha. I managed to get to the end, took me quite a while but enjoyed the journey!
Beautifully made game! Like something out of a dream or ghibli movie! I got the chicken house legs stuck a few times, but after some wobbling about, managed to pass through! I'm not sure if you have health, but after failing to coordinate the potions, I just muscled through the village to the end. Porry birdy legs! Managed to keep them pesky crows away though! babyaga.PNG
Funny cartoony visuals and a nicely decorated ship! I'm not sure if it is possible to fix all the wires but I managed 11 at most! spaceengineer.PNG
Fun game, made me smile and had interesting mechanics!
I found this very difficult and I have not enjoyed games like this before but I can appreciate the effort gone into it and the art is nice and bright. Good entry!
Cute little game, physics worked well, art was nice and music was pleasant. Good entry!
Interesting concept! The physics were satifysing to play with and I was able to give it a few gos and have some fun! c:
Nice idea. Spent alot of time dodging as I lost all the ammo very quickly!
I am not great with puzzle games but I can appreciate that alot of effort and design would of gone into a game like this to make it work! I somehow managed to get one duck into the rocket through trial and error rather than strategy, not sure if i was able to take more than one duck with me but accidently left one behind!
Very fun idea! Lovely art and gives the player some creativity and interesting results. I think i failed with mine, but I love him anyway <3
lovecraft.PNG
Nice game idea! Was fun to juggle the plants between spots, though I could only ever keep 3 alive at most! Good entry!
Paper boy with physics! I love the idea! Very funa nd challenging!
Fun idea, gets dificult very quickly, I wasn't able to get too far!
Fun idea! Enjoyed that I had as many tries and as much time as I wanted to set stuff up!
There's no game to be downloaded on here or Itch.io!
@blix Ah yeah, I can see it now. So was this not actually submitted in time then or is this an updated version?
@blix Okay, thats great you got it fixed!I also ended up submitting the web version a little later because I couldnt get it to fit the window properly!
Really nice art and simple gameplay. Good entry :>
Interesting interactive story game! I really like the artstyle and little bits of horror themes added in!
Really lovely game! I really liked the graphics used and the music was a good fit for the puzzle genre. I found the levels I did play to be quite easy to understand satisfiying when figuring out the answer!
Really lovely art and audio thgat fits well. I found it quite confusing that you needed to jump and then hold left mouse and let go to punch forward but realised it was useful after uppercutting them. Great entry!
Feels like there were alot of things going on this this game and I wasnt quite sure how to manage everything! I think maybe starting with less parcels and less possible routes as to not get too overhwlemed. I also found a shop but didnt quite getting round to using it! ITs great that youve managed to add so many things in such a short time!
Really nice art and fun music. Reminded me of old arcadey classics, good entry!
Really loved how the physics worked and wliked that I got to choose how many newspapers I wanted to juggle rather than be forced to ramp up the difficulty. Great entry!
Really fun mechanics! Felt satisfying the fling the pizzas and the slingshot felt very accurate! c:
@ashashza I havent used physics before so really wanted to try it out! I really spent too much time playing with the physics myself and thought I should allow the container to overflow, even if its just for abit, because I found it kinda satisfying when they would spill over the top haha!
@polinachrr Thanks for the feedback! In my previous jam games, i have tried to include a page just before the game room (and after the menu) that has a more instructions on it with vidsuals aids, unfortuantely i didnt get round to doing that this time. I have tried to add even more info in the game description for players!
@bobo-oh Thanks for playing! Originally I thought you could match the 3 in the container and they would "appear" in the box, but struggled to keep track of which ones the players had poped and whther or not they met the requirements, because the match mechnic is still a little wobbly! I also wanted the player to be able to grab and move stuff around and so wanted to give the player a "reason" to have that as an option. If I was to think on it more, I'm sure there would be a way I could connect it better as you suggest :D
Really nice art stood out to me! Played for a little while and had almost all the office workers mad at me! :'D
Gameplay was good and responded well. Was surprised by the swearing boss baby :'D
Nice idea! I managed to figure out what I was doing pretty earlier on and the music seemed to suit the game well!
Really good voice acting and music! The art also a nice vibe, great entry!
Really good idea to use the idle attack genres as people have really liked it recently! I played it a couple times and was amazed by how big the map actually was! Glad you got upgrades and pick ups in there! I think i might need a little more info on helath as sometimes when i went to buy a heart from the shop it didnt seem to give health back. Also, it didnt seem clear if i got hit by enemies or not as theres no noise, slow, flash and large chunks of hleath would sometimes dispear very quickly. Has alot of fun though, great entry!
Hey! I visted your stream for a little while! Just had a go at your entry and found it to be quite fast anfrom the get go but had a few more turns to leanr how to keep in time. I think its a good take on the theme and the gameplay suits it well!
Really good game! Another physics one which is great! Loved the art and gameplay take. Found the rocks to be a little tricky at times!
Really cute game and nice art. Loved the idea as kiki delivery is favourite movie of mine!
Nice idea, I feel like the difficulty ramped up pretty fast but the controls seemed to work well and the music fit too! Good entry!
Nice idea and art, fun arcadey time steering! Good entry!
Fun take on the theme, loved the fry look a like! Gameplay reminded my of oldschool 2D sidescroller which I loved! Nice entry!
Very nice art and suting music and audio. Found it a little confusing when placing tiles in the first bit as they didnt line up with lines already on the board? Lovely entry though!
Really quite enjoying the slow pace and soft artstyle! Got the package and went to all of the doors. This seemed to be the only one that lit up "pink", other than mine and the exit. But it wouldnt let me interact with it sadly!door3.PNG
I think concept was interesting but I couldnt figure out proerly what I was meant to be doing in the maze! The music wand art was also nice!
Really beautiful art in such a short time! The game was alot depper than I expected and I played it through again and chose the other option so see the difference!
Controls were tight and i felt like thew hitboxes were very fair (I could squeeze in and out to get a slice between cars haha). Music suited it well and the art was simple but recognisable. I would have liked a score at the end screen but otherwise good game!
