Very nice graphics and music, rather difficult in the second level.. but I liked it!! :D

Very nice graphics and music, rather difficult in the second level.. but I liked it!! :D
Very nice. Played several endings, with either bracelet or ring. Nice style and mood. And the inner conflict is a interesting twist. Good work!
Very nice, cute protagonist(s) and indeed a little like loco roco, but very entertaining :D cool!
Very interesting idea, the cutout effect is very special. For some reason I got stuck in midair twice, but entertaining nevertheless :D
Ha, very nice one. I much liked the doodle book graphics and the smooth animations between characters, but it indeed gets hard rather quickly. Sound and Music are great too :D Web version worked well, btw
Wow, really, really nice graphics, and driving sound loop, liked the filter effect there. I fiddled with the controls though, in the second screen I got stuck several times. But fun nevertheless.
Cool and easy to get into game. Nice graphics and sound - (which reminded me a little of "Intergalactic" by the Beasty Boys, in a positive way :D ) Played the web version.
Not too easy rythm game.. Really enjoyed it, even if I did not get very far ;) despite the checkpoint mechanism. The graphics are minimalistic, but fitting, with nice pulsing light effects. Good audio!
I think an "easy" setting would be nice..
Oh, yes! I liked this one, great mood and the music and the sound effects fit nicely (I turned down the volume a bit..) Well written murder mystery, good plot, reminded me a bit of Infocoms "The Witness". Good work!!!
Very nice cartoonish graphics and a good interpretation of the theme :D I liked the parallax background too.
Besides the missing sound, an innovative physics based game. Not easy, I really couldnt get above level five..
Short but rather and creepy. I like the changing font type effect, and the vanishing/changing text on mouseover, which gives an additional level of interaction. Well done!
Sorry, tried to play it, but doesn't start. I receive a NPE in FileUtil.loadFile(FileUtil.java:32). Maybe there is something missing from the jar?
Nice tower-defense-strategy-style-game, the AI is not very strong, but as a compo entry, its great! Liked the music too..
Nice little game, takes a moment to get along with the mechanics, but fun afterwards. I especially liked the cinnamon rolls (I got stuck there - pun intended :D )
Nice graphics, I liked the parallax starfield in the background :D even if it isnt a shooter..
Liked the pixelish shapeshifting and the 2d-minefraftish resource gathering :D nice one!
The graphics style reminds of old vector games, plus the vhs video effects, cool.. very well done! :D
A very good game with a very cute sidekick :D I like!!
Took me some time to figure out how to use the vase, but yes :D nice idea.
Nice little puzzle game, the potions mechanic is promising. Maybe some monsters or other obstacles would make it even more captivating :D
I very much like the gameboy style graphics and music, nice take on the theme. Controls were slightly unresponsive though, otherwise a cute game :D
Not bad, control was fluent and its a nice idea. Yes, a bit of sound would be nice :D
Twine, yeah! Short, but with an intense mood. I kinda liked it, even if the later bit was rather linear.
Nice roguelike, but not easy.. these fast-movers are tricky! I liked the mouth-fx too :D
Cute little caterpillar, easy to play, and yes.. the leaves are a bit hard to see against the background. :D Nevertheless a very good first LD entry!
Unique looking puzzle game, nice physics, good level design, nice music. Great!
This is a very unusual Twine Story :D but I like it, great idea! Yes, I too would like to see this developed further..
Fun game, the tune matches the underwater mood nicely, and I like the graphics style! Good game!
Ah, I like twine! Very nice :D well made with the poetry twist.
"there is nothing frightening there - any more"
Hey, thats fun :) bit like a reversed pac man where the dots run away, but I like the idea. Music and sound effects are nice. Good job, really!
Not a bad start I'd say. Maybe labels for the buttons, some small sound effects.. for some reason my health dropped way below zero and the game still went on, but thats probably because it is not completely finished. Its a game! :)
The graphics are really well done, yes sure there is no real gameplay, but if you declare it being a walking simulator it almost is a finished game ;) maybe add some hints or story that could be revealed by looking into the rooms or at objects to give it some substance. Really, not bad at all!
Even if I did not manage to build the pyramid in time and will probably be fed to the alligators to please the gods :) I liked it. A bit more of tutorial or help would be nice though. A lot of content for the short time, well done!
Simplistic gameplay with a nice minimalistic art style. Using the different font somehow made up for the rather dev-arty white blocks and elevated everything. Ran smooth on win64, controls once realized :) were great, and with some music or sound, that would improve overall impression even more.
@occultone @cogcomp @mars @adhesion @gato and all the other commenters above, thanks a lot for your kind words and constructive critique - and sorry if the controls are a bit too hard to master, if I come round to do a post compo version I will certainly lessen the difficulty a bit (or make it adjustable?) - and fix the patch near the asteroids poles where you will only turn but not really move, yes - that is a bug I think. Then a distance meter and coriolis sensor should be there to ;)
Maybe a hint: It is much easier if you do not try to go in a straight line but do left/right waves as if being on rollerskates or surfing the gravity :) it is such a small world that there are no straight lines anyway.
Very nice educational style game, I liked the music too. I only missed the possibility to remove wires when misplaced, but at least you can restart the level.
A solid platformer this is. I liked the pixel graphics style and the smooth character animations, the music is a rather short loop but fits well here. The panning is a bit hard to follow so I lost track often of exactly where I am, but fun nevertheless. Good 48hrs work!
Hey, not bad! The zooming mechanic when you have not enough knowledge or mental(?) energy is very nice, I did get lost quickly at first :) the sound effects fit very well I think.
What an amazing concept, very original! The scrawly inky ancient art style is very fitting and the audio with the scraping brush, the yawning and other little noises is great :) But obviously I should never work as a cartographer.
I must say it took a moment until I really realized what the scrolls and the potions are used for. Then it was quite fun, while it was more fun casting the spells than hitting with that hammer. The rays or bullets at the boss reminded me of some bullet hell shooter. The graphics are quite good for a compo game, this is all modeled and everything in 48hrs? Wow. And the music was great, it set a certain dungeon brawler mood. I liked it! :)
This is a very cool idea indeed. The look is very retro authentic (remember the WOPR from WarGames?) with even the Dymo-printed labels next to the knobs and turning magnetic tapes in the background. Feels all very late-seventies, really cool. Some muted seventies computer hums and noises would complete the mood there. What did not work very well was the mouse pointer, it is very sensitive to anything, and I needed to figure out that the cross in the middle and not the mouse pointer is important for control. And.. I did not manage to solve the task :) Good work!
While I was not able to salvage this tasty burger for my queen :) I really liked the setup with the enemy ants and beetles coming in - and the sound effects.. very nice, and quite detailed for 48hrs work. Great job!
Liked the artwork, and the ambient soundscape. Got a moment to realize how to generate gold per turn, but ran into a bug - I lost 200 gold every turn? Could maybe use a bit of fine tuning the balance, but otherwise: Good job!
Cute, with the sheeps toppling over and the soothing music :) the mechanic is truly original. Did not work with my controller though (thrustmaster dual, always pulling in one direction) so I needed to use the keys. Very nice!
SOAP, really funny :) rather fast, and at first I completely ran off the grid and didnt find my way back.. lol. But afterwards not bad, and I really liked the music. And, of course kudos for the title. Good work!
Fun platformer. I liked the shapeshift mechanic and all the LD quotes around. Controls were ok after realizing that only left and right do work (apart from jump, later). Dialogues were a nice toucht too. I Like :)
Yes, one of the very few Twine entries here! I liked this very much, with this desperate and gloomy mood, and I played it till the end, very dark. And very deep in terms of story, even these repeating dream sequences were detailed and reminded me a lot of Lovecraft tales. Very good writing, and the various angles or refinements of the text when clicking on it were really enhancing the overall setting and mood a lot. Very good work!!!
Nice first entry! Congratulations! Took me a while to realize you could aim using the mouse too :) otherwise playable, nice enemy movement. Simplistic graphics are ok! Imagining it with enhanced graphics and some sound effects this could be quite fun.
Cute - did not get very far since I always ran into my own orbiting shots over and over, but the "Yik!" noise ist too cute, really :) The simple music fits and the graphics are kind a nice, so good work!
Cute little game, I liked the planets art style :) as you said it could use some more polishing, and I got stuck inside the planet I was on twice. The starry sky was nice too. Sound would also help a lot. (Btw loading the HTML version really did take looooong, rather a minute.)
Yeah, a twine entry! :) Really liked the story and the tone ("..which explains a lot") and did die/vanish/return several times. I also ran into the bug at the radio twice and got stuck, so I dont really know if there is an ending?
Nice Asteroids themed game, congrats on your first entry! Pretty fun, and the giant asteroids vs the tiny little earth... cute :)
While I did not really get the gameplay - I could click on the three warriors and activate the special powers on the right but what exactly was the result? - and was as a consequence being defeatet rather quickly by this lovecraftian horror, I'd say the graphics and sound effects are very nice and fit together well. Not bad, but might need some more hints what happens onscreen.
I just tried to run the game but - after installing the C++ distributable - I only got an error message "An Unreal process has crashed: UE4-TSSConsole" and I can only stop there. (I tried the fixed version, yes) Too bad, the art style looks interesting and games with the UE4 engine are not found often here.
What a nice triangular hell :) liked the mood and collecting the clues. At first I did not really realize where to find Satan - but yes the dripping tongue. The muted audio fits well and goes with the mood nicely. Great stuff!
Wow, what a ride. This one reminds me of the early nineties arcades and is a very cool Space Harrier/Afterburner crossover. The music is really amazing retro style and fits the game perfectly. And the rastered black and white gives everything a very unique look. Thumbs up, I like!
Weird but funny :) very nice story, lovely riddles and descriptions, and the simple music loop went well together with the special art style. One GigaFlop from me, at least!
Nice little "defend your spot" game, the graphics are really nice, took a moment to understand how the aiming vs movement works, but then it was ok. For some reason no way what I collected the light cone got smaller and smaller and the game was over. Good work! (Played the WebGL version)
Ha, this one was great :) very much fun.. nice pixel art, fluid motion, controls working smoothly, and a very good Amiga era soundtrack. Yes!! And with a nice cutscene intro too, really polished. Only thing I did not really get was the consumption/mutate mechanics though, but.. Great job, congratulations!
Nice simple gameplay, very cute big pixelish graphics, and not too easy. Liked it! :)
Very cool idea for a game, its so simple, but fun and not easy, its even stretching and contracting after a while :). The music really fits the cycling/pulsing color mood and reminds me of acid house times, somehow. Yes, well done indeed!
Nice Defender-inspired shooter. Interesting mechanics with boarding or destroying, needed to look up what should be shot or entered twice. The players ship could move a bit faster in my opinion, otherwise good work!
Very good work, I liked the idea and graphics very much, the shaking of the tree, when the troll appears is great! Sound fits too. Very well done! But it is really hard to beat, tried this so often.
Very nice collection of minigames and humor. With a message. Well done, and yes, it was
Yeah, cool. Didnt even know there is an online CPC emulator. (maybe you should point this out, no download needed @adrien-dittrick ) The game was nicely retro - pure 8bittish text and all, reminded me of the basic games of days past. Which it probably was. Made it until 1930 in Memphis. Unusual, I liked it! Good job! (btw you need to rate other games to be displayed further up in the list and get reviews yourself )
Thanks for all your votes and the comments. Some replies here (in no particular order):
@phobos001 : Yes, I also thought about more variation in the environment but time ran out. I also decided not to artificially grow the maze (which would have been easy) but leave it rather small to avoid senseless repetitions without more content. And the bounding box is too large, correct, need to fix that.
@mironx : I tried to go for some pixel art/80s style, both in graphics and gameplay, and see what I could accomplish in the short time.
@pincushion : Another idea was to use the score as experience points and to advance in strength and magic attack capabilities but that was sacrificed to time constraints then.
@retti01 : There should be more monsters where you need the fireball to win, agreed.
(And I am still trying to play most of your games in return.)
Thanks again for all your ratings and comments. Some replies (in random order):
@baby-dino-herd : True, the sound is too polyphonic, too stereo and too clean for an "authentic" 80s game, but this is more what today people are used to.
@kuro : I added the .xm tracker sources for you , not much to see I fear because I just sampled two somehow fitting analogue sounds from the Krome EX (not even looped mostly). Later I added some small amount of ambiance reverb to the exported wav. Thats it.. time didnt allow for more.
@cppchriscpp : The corridor behind should cave in at some point, maybe, forcing the player to find another (especially monster ridden) way home.
@nippaaah and @geist-191 : Thanks a lot for the comment and playing my game on twitch, nice to see people playing it, this is so much different to playing it myself.
@kaisean-games : ah, right, they do look like that, now that you mention it. The hitbox on the fireball also is too small, I need to clean that up together with all other hitboxes/active areas I suppose. And, actually, it is traditional to let the junior wizards only wear humble flip-flops on their quest, until they receive magic boots on graduation. (no, just kidding  )
@dining-philosopher I used the built in Godot tilemap editor to edit the maze. This was upgraded with version 3.1 of Godot and works really well (including autotiling which I used here). It is possible to import Tiled maps using a plugin (Tiled Map Importer) you can download from the Godot asset library.
"You fulfilled your duty." Great stuff, dense atmosphere, really nice graphics and sfx (the squeaking steps ). And very lovecraftian too, I liked that! well done!
Hey, this was really cool. Yes, very much like the old BBS games with ANSI graphics and simple choices, how nice. Even with the slightly curved old CRT look (a little border would indeed help to convey this better). I like it!
(btw: you need to rate other peoples games to get ratings yourself during the play+rate period )
Nice Mario-style platformer. Even with hidden bonus room :). The mechanic with the doubling cost for better jump & health worked well, health is very useful there. Couldnt figure out how to open the locked door at the end of the second level though. Music was nice and fitting. Good job!
This is a very cool entry! I liked all, the gameplay felt difficult but somehow well balanced for a compo entry. While I got stuck on the level with the many fast but weak things, I watched the playthrough afterwards to get the full story  very good! Graphics and sound were great, really.
Nice arcade shooter, plays well. I like the screenshake effect and the short frame freezes, this gives the bullets a lot more impact, together with the particles. Sounds are very good too. One suggestion: when the game over screen appears, there should be a short timeout until the fire button is accepted to continue - it was sometimes shown so briefly that I didnt notice the game ended at all. Good job, well done! (Since it is a Godot project: Have you had a look at the "Tween" node? I found this helps a lot with executing tasks that otherwise need to be handled by scripting.)
Well made interactive fiction! The story is gripping and deep, and there are many endings, from dying from a snakebite in the jungle over getting promoted as writer and film star to being a free man on his own farm (I did certainly not catch all possible ) I first expected interactive fiction with Twine, but this is written in Godot with an self built UI and framework around? Congrats, that is even more work. I liked it! Good job! (btw: you need to give ratings to others to be more visible on the games list )
@dining-philosopher The exported HTML5 did first not work correctly, in the meanwhile I have found out why (do not use "fullscreen" setting when exporting for web) and put it on itch.io to play.
Good animation, and nice idea. I liked the witch doctor  ..well done!
Clever puzzle game. Very creative and original concept, took me some time to understand the mechanics of it, and not easy. But fun! Well done!
Yes, Twine! I was already looking for the (usually too few) interactive fiction entries in the jam. I liked the story and the development, also that the meaner and darker your choices are, the quicker the whole story deviates from normality. Very well done!
Yay, Robotron, yes. But with the copyright and patent troll twist  very nice. Smooth gameplay, but not that easy, especially when these undestructible things appear.
Cute graphics, nice shopping simulator. But.. is there a goal? I pay and ..blam.. dead. Well, ok. Btw you can still press the action key again and again if you are already dead, which repeats the dying animation and produces loads of gory stuff.
Yes was confused too with the drop by right mouseclick thing, but liked the game. Audio was nice too, helped a lot with the mood. Good idea, well done!
Nice game, the vampire looks really good, in his cloak (and also when he vanishes in the shadows). Sound loop fits well too. I liked the mechanic, that you couldnt move when being a shadow, so you nedded to balance between being seen but moving and invisible (but motionless and losing life). Well done!
Good story, great atmosphere, good music. The actual gameplay mechanics I did not quite understand, because the Order was knocking at my door too soon. Good work!
Very nice Galaga/Galaxians-Style shooter. Could be a bit more difficult (you can gather many 1ups quickly), so I played through (You Won!). Audio was cool too. Well done!
Wow, very good. Made it to the final raft and followed the story, this is cool, also that it is really working on the NES! Graphics and audio was very fitting, a lot of good text to keep the motivation up to get through the next current. Controls were ok, yes when moving away from a piece of driftwood you need to steer directly away, not in parallel to it, but I quickly got used to this. Very well done!
Kind of a capitalist virtual pet game? New to me but very cute. And the audio fits great.
Very nice puzzler. Not quite as easy as it looks first. I liked the music a lot, sounded very ..original? And beautiful sunset skybox too. Well done!
Yay, one of the (too) few IF entries this time, I was actively looking for them. Awsome game, reminded me of some old Infocom adventures (but choice based), clever concept with the sharing of memories. Played through, but only got about half of the 700 maximum, thats probably because I did not try all combinations of stories on everyone? Very well done!
Very nice pixel art, the bushes and greens were cool, and I liked the bird animation much. Gameplay was good, the snakeys were kind of difficult because they were rather fast. All in all, good work!
The intro video was quite good, gave a depth to the story. Gameplay was very vector-game like, maybe you could even use this as a graphics style measure, also for the other elements, like the pulsing globes? I also liked that you need to keep the energy in mind, every time you shoot or accelerated.
Wow, cool game! Made it till level 19 but then everything was just firing and blinking and still I lost. Very good audio, very nice graphics. I liked the neon style a lot!! Great job!!
Goth GF, a very possesive one. Well made, great graphics and sound. (even if I did not give her my kidney, ouch!)
Mr. Snarfles, alright! :v: Unusual story, nice puzzling, very unusual idea. Good sound effects! And one of the few text-based games in the jam. Good work!
Beautiful, polished, great art style. (And the music matches the mood and everything) Very moving, I played several times, and with all theree endings. Reminds me much of "Life is strange", too. But this might be because of the dreamy autumn mood, the art style and setting, together with the music (..and I also think LiS is one of the best story based games I ever played, so this is a good thing ). Very well done!
Not bad. Is every replay random? Or are the following choices dependent on the ones before? Liked the overall aesthetics, reminded me of 8-bit era life simulator games.
Nice take on the theme - working for the Angel(TM) package. :V: Even if text based it transported the mood well, the all-white intro helped too. Good job!
Nice little game. Minimalist graphics worked well here. Now I just imagine some ominous driving electro soundtrack added to it  would work nicely. One thing I noted: While most of the time you have enough potions to proceed it might be benefical to check if there is at least somewhere an unused potion in the visited area. Or, if only one hart remains, open one random door somewhere in the visited area, with access to a potion, and let the player find it, maybe with a timer as pressure element. Otherwise, its just ..random. But overall I had fun playing. Thanks, good job! (btw. you need to rate other games to appear in the games listings and get more reviews yourself )
Very good story, and the collecting of words was a very clever element. Got stuck after the bluff in bosses office and returning home however, could not open my door because I had spent the word already.
Well done! I liked it!
While I did not really find a strategy (the electricity spots did not that reliably attract as far as I noticed) I managed some minutes after being defeated by a multitude of worms. Interesting, first there were very few worms, almost none at all, and then quite a lot at once. But original concept and fitting graphics, good job!
Quite an uncommon concept, feels a bit like a clicker which it isnt, a hybrid between text adventure and mobile-one-touch usage. I like it!
It looks kind of cool but I did not quite get a grasp on the gameplay. ..but was fun nevertheless.
Nice little weird lemonade stand sim, moody too. Balance could be better, I often got only cards I couldnt play (missing customers) or only price increases etc. "You crumble to the ground". :V: The music was kind of nice, somehow fit the dreamy athmosphere.
Very nice, great art and interesting gameplay. I got the only freedom I coud get "for now", well done. I got sometimes got wedged a little on edges, and the robot does not stick to the moving platforms, that feels weird. You should also add some sound effects and a little background music or ambience sounds maybe, would really improve the mood.
Interesting concept! The controls were a bit hard to get into, but then I liked the graphics vanishing effect of the maze and the lightning/line of sight with the minimap. Sound (shots) were a little loud maybe. Good job!
Very nice mood, and the loungy audio track did the rest. Fitting graphics too, UI was very intuitive and looks polished. Great entry!
Lovely art style and interesting gameplay. Also with the LAB option to upgrade, very polished! Good work!
Very nice graphics, simple gameplay but not an easy game. Got killed by some bald butcher type later on, after he killed my skeleton. Nicely made, altogether. Music fits too, good job!
Cute. Got a new car before I was completely outnumbered by foxes! Nice retroish handheld graphics and sound, and done with pico8  Good job!
Ouch my finger hurts, still I died quickly. Some extreme clicker game this is. There was no audio, right? Good job! (hint: if you rate other games your game will go up in the list and get more ratings too )
Nice visuals and a good take on the theme, but I too could not really figure how to play/control (keyboard? mouse pointer too? nothing changed..
Lovely pixel art and good story. Got eaten by wolfes and these giant black ant-things very often, though. Good compo entry!
Nice and pixel stylish. After a while (and several tries) I think I got into the birth / build / devour cycle until I suddendly was ambushed by loads of these attackers which my turrets did not kill fast enough (at about 90 points). Music was a bit repetitive, but thats ok. All in all a fun experience, I liked it. Good job for an "almost" compo!
A look into the grim life of a carnivorous fish. Not bad, while I needed to get used to the controls first. Nice graphics btw. Well done.
Nice, classic shooter. The ships upgrade looks great, would be nice to have more options there. Well done!
Cute. And the spaghetti monster. With meatballs. :spaghetti: Very nice. Got sometimes not enough points to proceed though, and then there was no way to get more worth, so the coins should respawn maybe? Good job!
Nice simulator. I liked Ferret Boy vs Dr. Mind  - not easy to balance the needed skills for the movies, really. Sometimes there is not enough choice for the protagonists and no one to choose from to make the movie less comical, and then the audience does like the movie. Good job, had fun with it! (and the achievements!)
Nice. Reminded me a bit of the old title "Alter Ego" (anybody still knows that one?) - but with graphics and animation. Very innovative. Needed the tutorial to get into it, but worked then. Cute animations!
Bit hard to steer and fight maybe, but fun to play. The music is a little repetitive, the graphics nice somehow and the monsters look special. Made me smile, yes. :smirk:
Nice little shooter. Not easy. Shoot rate could be a little higher from the start and the controls felt a little sluggisch (pun not intended ) because you dont go continually but rather snap from position to position. But overall a good game!
Difficult platformer. I liked the sad ghost  but always got stuck in the room with the many candles for some reason. Cute knight and graphics, and the spaeric tune fitted great. Great job!
Nice tower..ehm..pyramid defense take on the pharaohs curse. I liked the music a lot and the graphics are nice too. Maybe make it clearer that the urns need to be placed first (one at least). I grabbed a snakey basket first and then couldnt do anything but restart it (could not drop nor place it anywhere). Good job!
Cool. I like bullet hell shooters. Simplistic but good square action. And I really liked the pumping electronic audio track, fits very well. Good job!
Reconnect with your assets. Cool little typing game included. Strange but entertaining, didnt quite get how to switch the buildings, I think. Nice.
Cute pixel art meets hack'n'slash. Very well made, I liked the key reminder overlay  might be a bit to hard to avoid damage when fighting though. The music fits well too. Thumbs up!
Very nice dungeon crawler game, I liked the look a lot. The idea that you need to sacrifice yourself and respawn to advance is also really fitting the theme. The enemies were great too, especially that hungry all-teeth thing  was really good! Sometimes when you open a chest or when you die, the loot lands on the spikes around you, then you can not get at it anymore, otherwise played very well (played until the ThanksForPlaying  ) Great job! And.. thanks for playing my game on the stream, really enjoyed seeing you playing it!
Good work, yes maybe a hint how to start the game would be helpful, took me a moment (especially since ESC closes fullscreen when playing the web version ). Good first entry!
Nice graphics, fine music and a good story! (tried the download version). But, after consuming the first pirate I did not really get any further, wandered around, found medicine and skull, talked to everybody. But all pirates were in pairs and no one seemed eager to leave the group, so.. I just appreciated the nightly island atmosphere and the music. Good job for a first entry! (btw: you need to rate other entries to appear on the lists and get more ratings yourself )
Pretty game, very nice visuals. Got stuck in the underworld though with too few souls. Could use some sound and sfx. Good work!
Great anime and pixel art style, nice concept and the music is very cool too. Very nice job!
Cool. A truly cubist rhythm game. A bit hard to not mix up space and the arrow keys and get all confused (like me), but fun. The story completed that. And very nice music too. Good work! (And got only 81.5% and 4/5 but liked it)
Very cute and easy to pick up mechanics. Nice idea. (Had some problems with the mouse pointer though which was very laggy and did not always follow where I wanted it to go, but this might be my machine). Made me smile.
Very fun crossy endless runner with reanimation. I also had my alien get stuck on trucks -beyond reach to revive it- several times... but the rest is great, very nice low poly graphics and good music, plays well too. Very good!
Thank you all for playing my game! @drschizzo Yes, good idea, I wanted to add a "sweep" of the lamplight when turning, but then time was up and the feature was dropped.. @xpost2000 The wood is measured and just enough to make it through the night. (tested it)
@itskdog Yes the timer is a bit tricky - if you throw in too much wood and the timer was already full, then the fire will not burn much longer (but you get a little over 100% in the counter which is not shown, so it will take a while until it decreases again). This is a bug, I think.
(All in all - the goal is to survive the night and keep the fire burning all the time so you are not met by the trolls at the fireplace. And there is only a limited amount of wood, so it is important to find it all and throw it in the fire when needed..)
Thank you all so much for playing and rating my game!! Soo many!! @itsarjunsinh I think I like the label "happy horror game" @tatetate Its more the fire than purely the light that scares them, I suppose. And yes, there are slight pauses in the gameplay currently, this could be balanced better. @cheesepencil Right, no trolls, no mosquitos. But here, someone has to fetch the wood. @firellon @dave-follett Yes, that could be nice, that the trolls do notice you if very near. @quinn-patrick True, it doesnt get completely dark, this could be changed - wanted to do something with clouds and moonlight too, and that the trolls could pause and disguise as rocks. But time was up.
Yay, a Twine entry! They are hard to find in this jam. So, even if you did not have the energy to write a bigger game, you made an interactive story game. And yes, it is sometimes very hard to come up with ideas, because the mountain of making it real looks high when looking up (but mostly much smaller after the jam, when you climbed it). Every cloud has a silver lining. And you did not miss the jam!
Nice interpretation of the theme, and cool graphics and sounds - and done in 10hrs? Amazing. Great job!
Very nice and original concept! Cool puzzle game, played through to after level 8 - I wished there were more levels.. I liked the fitting and minimalist graphics, also the progression was well executed and made it easy to follow the increasing difficulty. Great work!
Very good! Got stuck a bit in the AEGIS level - but it feels as if with some more tries it could work  Nice turn based strategy puzzler with well prepared levels. I also love the level of polish you put in it sound and graphics (even if it seems to use premade assets). I also liked the tutorial style first levels and the gradual introduction of new building types and weapons (towers, shields, bows,...) Great entry!
Nice graphics and easy interface, but not too easy. The accident report was a really cool idea too! Good job!
Yay a real Atari 2600 game! Impressive. Found it a bit hard to control, and of course you need to repeat the levels often until you know where the dead ends are. And there is one glitch - especially in L3, when you hit a wall you get stuck often inside the wall without being able to move - then its essentially game over. But otherwise: great!
Easey to understand mechanics but not too easy to play. Really gets difficult quickly. There should be a little more friction in the cages - any accelereation - even very small - seems to shift the upper cages by a pixel. Solid entry!
Quite fun, with hint of Monty Python'ish humor, and really original mechanic (was a bit hard to aim at first but got used to it) and neat graphics and audio. Was the speaker rotoskoped? Or converted from a video using a tool? Very nice, and really something different!
Yay a Twine game! (was explicitly looking for some this jam!). Very nice story, with a bit of megalomaniac fantasy  ..at least I didnt live long enough to become the villain. Well written, good work! (btw: you need to rate others games to rise in the listings and get enough ratings yourself -for a result you need about 20 ratings.. and you were really hard to find in the zero-ratings category..)
Nice strategy game - the style fits well, and the sound effects are fitting too. Hadnt seen this mechanics before..cool. At first I didnt realize the water counts as wall, this comes in handy. And.. there is one bug, that after reloading the page sometimes the walls turn in 180 degrees instead of 90 (which requires a reload, I think). All in all: Very good, I managed to become Great King. :crown:
Nice little game - I liked the 2D over low poly 3D look too. A status indicator what the current water/sunshine level is would be nice, though. Good job!
Hi, unfortunately ..couldnt find anything to play and vote - did you activate (publish) your entry on itch.io or is it still in private / edit mode there? Cheers, Z.
Nice, now I could download and play the game - was really fun and (I think) not easy, couldnt even get through the first level. Dont apologize for the graphics, they were simple but cute. What I noticed - the ball has a very strong friction in the air, making it hard to guess where it is going to land, this is intended? All in all: Nice little game!
(btw: if you vote others games you will get a higher listing and receive more votes yourself - about 20 are needed to get a rating in the end. It was rather hard to find your entry in the zero-ratings section..)
Intense mood, very good graphics, great sound. A bit more gameplay would be nice, on the other hand this might be the equivalent of a walking simulator - a sittig simulator maybe? Good job!
Wow, very polished, very innovative, nice and cute artwork and really original gameplay. And with beautiful transitions too. Gameplay is easy to understand but hard to master, which is good. Awsome!! (for some reason I had only sound effects, no music)
Very relaxing.. the rotation mechanic reminded me a little of Hexic and similar, but here it is less strict because you can water the plants anyway, its more a ..turn in the right position to conserve water. Played well, not really hard, could get through in one go. Good work!
Feels very polished for a compo entry, even with a leaderboard, and nice visuals too! Maybe the bgm could be a bit more..energetic? Was a bit tricky to get the motions coordinated, and there could have been an indicator when the shield-push was available. Overall: Good job!
Great graphics, impressive for a compo! Nice sound and music too, amazing entry really!
Got stuck often after scanning and needed to restart the levels (the doctor was probably completely absorbed with his new scanner  ) But fun little game, well done!
Funky little game - hyped and pushed the dancers but after a while the party was over - have the feeling the mechanics could be communicated a little better. And the background dancers are a bit hard to see. But an original concept, if polished and streamlined (maybe with fitting music tracks) this could become a great casual game. Good job!
Somehow I always only got more sand and no more grass - and maximum of 1400 points. Strange. But nice art and audio, enjoyed it!
Homegrown toilet paper? How nice, beautiful art and a cool concept. A little sound or other feedback when successfully planted seeds would be great, I think. Maybe the computer could be integrated into the gameloop better - with an overlay of sorts? Good work!
Simple but very cute tamagotchi-style game. With all the ingredients needed to keep the little buddy happy. Art is fitting, music too. Nice work!
I really loved the black-and-white handdrawn art style and the jazzy tune. And that you could arrange anything in the posts added a nice creative touch to it. Is it of any importance what you do post (I think not?) ..at least cat and pillow pictures seem to be en vogue. Taking snapshots of oneself staying in bed or during a walk in the rain would of course be nice too. All in all - very soothing, slightly melancholic, but altogether original experience. Very good!
This was so cute! Very nice lowres pixel art, and the music fit very well! The control of the eggs was a bit tricky but I think this contributes to the gameplay. And I liked the sunny side up eggs.. Awsome entry!
Interesting take on the theme. I much liked the billboard 3D pixel art vegetation, that was really cool. A bit of sound would be nice though, and it was a bit hard to see if I hit somebody. Thanks for the article too, was inspiring.
Not easy - first to find the little outlet to recharge a bit and then getting further. Maybe it would be nice to have a "charge meter" on the screen, so you can always see how much energy there is left currently. Otherwise the screen just goes black and then its game over. One other thing is - if playing with keyboard only - on Newsgrounds the "space bar" key is not selected on the game, so pressing it scrolls the screen down - annoying because then you have to scoll up again to see the game.. mouse works better there. But really beautiful pixel art and music. Liked it!
Very fitting name, the meta-(game)-magochi. Feels a bit easy, since there is no real progress, there should be more interactions (with the dog). Or more complicated repairs, maybe. Nice!
hehe.. fun game. A bit more minigames would be nice, but the idea is great. Some music and cartoon style sound effects would be good though. I liked it!
Very nice. Reminded me of Tron and Stellar7, great also the tutorial and the changing views. Also the mechanics of shooting combined with the exploring a maze to find keycards works quite well, I think. Sometimes during fight the "key" enemy is marked very late and gets destroyed, and maybe the "Connected" blinking sign could stop after a while.. Played the web version, which worked otherwise really well. Good entry!
Very good entry for compo, I liked the "stealth" aspect and the graphics (minimalistic but with a fitting screen filter effect). Needed a moment to figure out when the chicken was dropped or not (should maybe change its position a little). And the music loop (while fitting) was a bit..repetitive after a while. Also the spikes in level 3 were a bit hard to recognize, but otherwise: Good job, really!
Very nice game, wonderful and atmospheric music and a beautiful presentation of this interactive tale. Well polished - playing the web version it would be nice if the window could be expanded to fullscreen, nevertheless.. very good!
I liked the mechanic and the twist with the melting on purpose, to gather speed. Also, the increasing difficulty in the levels. Graphics was cute too! Fun game to play!
Not bad at all, feels rather polished. An I liked the neon color blocky art stile, fits well. A bit like snake but.. different. Somehow I could not use the right mouse button to super-gloop though.. Great job!
Nice take on the theme and good puzzles. The interaction sometimes is a bit laggy (tested only the web version though). And some audio would be great.
Quite an..avantgarde entry..more a trippy visual walking experience inspired by a Cronenberg film than a game with a goal? Not without merit though, the visuals are strange but somehow intense (with the blue noise filtering and the distortions), the crackling background music contributes. The controls I had to guess - forward/sideward and turning with the mouse? - was there any other interaction? I think no. And then I fell down from the structure at the end, which wasnt. Unusual.
Yay, a bit of ASCII art - very nice. The tutorial is useful, to see what types of attackers are more or less dangerous beforehand. During placement the map could maybe scroll a bit? I managed twice to put a turret below the selection icons for the turrets. Good job!
Simple mechanic, minimalist graphics, easy to understand and controls work well. Also found the magic angle where the dot is always protected from the bullets which makes it very easy.. (or - make the shield destructible if hit over and over at the same places?) With some sound effects (there werent any, or were there? I had no sound but might be a bug?), a bit of screenshake and maybe faster and/or more bullets this could be even more fun. Solid entry!
That was strange but fun. It was a bit hard to hit the correct plant after a while, so I clicked (kissed) but the second from the right kept losing energy and died. Nice music by the way! Good game!
Nice! Kind of relaxing game experience, the egg and dragon are very cute. Could use some more disturbances later (birds trying to snatch the egg or the hatched dragon etc) I can well imagine this as a little mobile game (where you tilt the phone or tablet to balance). Well done!
Hehe.. Very nice.. cute little game, not easy, my best was a little over 35sec. Feels polished too, the music fits very well, and the items look yummy too. Maybe, when the item count changes to two dangerous items, the red ring could stay a bit longer clear a wider area, most I got finished by a newly added item that was too close to click. Good work!
Yummy barbecued knights! Nice music and cute animations. Movement of the dragons head on the keyboard was a bit FlappyDragon-ish, but still fun. Yippe!
This was unexpected, a meta-game-jam-game about the joys of voting.. Great. First I expected a Twine game (which I am actively hunting for but they are hard to find) but I see it was written in pure js. Nice, the minigames and the repeating loop too, it might be more interesting if the loop was altered in some way on the second walkthrough, just as an idea. Nice!
Very nice platformer, even if just one level. Mechanics were also easy to understand. (I noticed you opted out on audio and graphics voting categories, so the artwork was not done by you? I liked it very much, the cyberpunk retrofuturistic feel gave much to the mood.) Good job!
(btw: to receive more ratings it is necessary to rate games too and rise in the listings - it was hard to find your game in the zero ratings category)
Wow, the amount and quality of art is amazing! Really beautiful aesthetics. Cool mechanics & nice music too! Really good work, I like it! (..and made with Godot!)
Kind a original story, very nice. Also liked the art style and graphics. Gameplay-wise it is a bit repetitive, and after placing some defenders strategically the game plays by itself. And after a while the attackers always spawn the same group, one infantry soldier, one bike and one tank, every time, is this a bug? I think it would be better to have waves of attackers where defenses can be adapted inbetween, an then increasing difficulty on each wave. Some sound effects for spells and explosions would also be helpful to give it more "juice". But otherwise, I had fun playing! Good job!
That was cool - "These are not the jedi you are looking for"-style. Very nice concept. There should be some progression though, maybe bigger enemies or coming from all sides after the alien intelligence becomes mad at you. Played over 100, but nothing more happened. Overall: I liked it!
Nice, even if the controls felt very fiddly. I liked the "pressure" by the advancing foot/shoe - this gave the escape more urgency. Maybe, on game over, just restart the level with a minimal pause? This instant teleport to the start menu is a bit irritating. But was fun, good work!
Gets difficult rather quickly - but at least I got some "good work Joe"s. Idea was cool, well executed, nice pixel art good levels. Balance bar is very sensitive, when carrying many bricks. Awsome!
Very cute art style, I love it! One little thing - I got stuck in the upper right corner after a while and could not move out again, maybe make this some pixels wider.. And taking damage from walls should make some sound, so it is clear this is not good for doggies health. Great job!
Really liked this one! Nice art and fitting music loop (while a bit repetitive after a while, maybe make it longer or more subtle?) and the orders get more complicated after a while. There seems to be some bug- sometimes I have drinks in storage but can not give them out nor produce fresh ones of that type, then the customer gets angry and leaves? Good entry!
@milestone-games Yes, thanks, works much better now! Had a look at you design document, impressive. So maybe you could include payments and tips from happy customers, and then once a day counting the daily profits? Minus the used ingredients?
Liked the idea of reflecting bullets back to hit the enemies! The first levels feel very short, somehow. And in the first levels there is no need for a shop - maybe just show it once there is enough scrap to buy something? Overall some sound would really help (understand the library limitation though) to give the game more feeling of hitting something. Nice!
Really fun game, the pixel art and beepy sounds threw me back to VCS2600 times instantly. Made it until 05:00AM, then missed too many.. Nice! Good job!
Um.. no link to click.. no game to play..
Nice, needed a bit to figure out where to place the gems in the machines (first I just dropped them on them and nothing happened) and where to place the gems to feed the monster (if not placed below, the monster will not eat them). Cute art, voices and fitting audio too!
Really beautiful pixel art, reminded me a lot of "Another World" and the likes, together with the gameplay and the fixed screens with certain places to jump and climb. Very nice! Also the noises are very fitting and the story keeps it all together. Cool entry!
Nice pixel art, and the snails are very cute, really. A bit of HUD for health (both player and enemies) would help and then some progression, as was said before. (And some music maybe?) Good job overall!
Nice interpretation of the theme, and a really interesting twist on the game of life. Found it sometimes hard to find the next power jolt (and died on the way) - it would be better to have some kind of movement indicator when crossing the empty fields, otherwise it is not obvious a movement takes place at all. Good work!
Nice and cute game. The black slimes were well hidden in the darkness, but aiming did not always work (maybe it was me though  ) maybe.. there could be a bigger hint to the fire being extinguished, like an arrow, or a blinking hint? Or a minimap? Sound was nicely thumping too. I liked it!
Was a bit hard to know what the traps do - so several restarts needed and playing again (checkpoint would be nice, yeah). I liked the rolling big rock trap! Bit of audio would have been great too. But was fun to play!
Nice take on the c*-related shopping frenzy, and the idea to do this as a card game is fresh too! Well done for a first entry!
Very nicely made visual novel with a beautiful drawing style. Tried several variants of progress in the story, but there is only the single ending where she needs to get going, right? A bit of audio would be nice too - or is there supposed to be some?
One thing: at the end (after she says "thanks for inviting me out") I always receive an error message: An error occurred running the Unity content on this page. See your browser JavaScript console for more info. The error was: uncaught exception: abort(140) at jsStackTrace (finalfinalnotskinny.wasm.framework.unityweb:8:22295) (seems to originate somewhere in the Unity loader - I then need to reload the page to restart). Very good job though!
(btw: you need to play others games to receive more ratings yourelf, it was hard to find your game.)
Not ungood. Got killed by negative surplus twice, the screen is getting very crowded with gold coins, guards and attacking ghosts. And a little hint how many better guards are active (they all look the same). But good job!
(btw: it is required to play and rate games to get listed and receive more feedback. Your game was very hard to find in the zero ratings category.)
Yeah, a Twine entry! (I was explicitly looking for them, they are a bit scarce this jam) And a very nice one too! I think I visited all locations (Including the baby souvenir addict situation and the boring but tentacled parts of town  which I found both amusing and a bit Brazil'esque). Music was good and fitting (cheesy). Not quite sure if this all related to the jams theme, but what the heck. I liked it! Good entry!
(Btw: now that you have an entry you need to rate other entries to get listed for ratings - it was rather difficult to find this one in the zero-ratings list..)
Wow, this was great - much more than just a text adventure. I much liked the platformer levels, even if I could not get through the one in the shadows room after many, many tries  so I could not finish the game. But the atmosphere was dense and creepy in the adventure, and the platformer parts are very challenging (in my humble opinion). Also, with the shader effects and increased wobblies and bluriness after being exhausted, this was a very nice touch. Really enjoyed this! Very good work!!!
(btw: to get more ratings you need to vote others entries to be listed higher and get the required 20 or so votes for a result - it was very hard to find your entry in the zero votes section.)
Whoa, hard. Best I managed was two branches (in seven plays), then always my torch went out. But the mood is not bad, very creepy soundscape, so maybe.. with some more polish, and more wood or better directions how to find it... Good work!
Not enough ducks! Definitely! Very nice game, cute graphics, cute sounds (quack!) and the many different accidents that can happen are.. um.. fun.. (the UFO!) Great job!
Simple but fun one button game. Some sound or music would be nice though. I liked it!
Takes very long until the menu disappears but then it works ok. I liked the incentive to get away from the plant to collect water. But the water could be placed closer to the plant, otherwise the bugs have plenty of time to eat it. Nice!
That was fun! Nice voice acting, well balanced (I think) and the progression with better weapons and decisions to buy more ammo vs a bigger gun. (While I am not sure - in level 4 there are these fast running toilet paper enthusiasts - could they be stopped with something other than the rocket launcher?) Many points for humor and great work for the first game! (and also made with  using Godot!)
Had fun playing this, nice take on the classic theme! (bit different thoug, very much felt juggling the balls). Cool visuals, nice audio, good sound effects. Sometimes the mouse went out of the window and the target went unresponsive - maybe fullscreen would help there? And the scoring board had very good comments - but not readable while keeping all the balls in the air - a voiceover commenter would be great.. (but a bit big for a compo, I know). All in all: Good and fun entry!
Uh yes needs a restart button, otherwise quite fun. The music is ..special..
Simple and fun game, would work well with mobile and touchscreens too? Nice audio btw!
Had some issues with the steering, often it would swap the item I was carrying because I came near the other items while walking to a baby. Or placed the baby in the first place I came near, not into the target. Could use some small sounds (maybe not the mentioned mp3 though  reminds me to much of real babies). Thanks for submitting!
Interesting mechanics, gets quite crowded later on the endless level. With some audio, polish and time this could become a nice casual game. Good first entry!
Nice, a disease spread simulator game. At first it was a bit difficult to aim at the correct targets (maybe a dotted line would help? or crosshairs?) And not easy to see where the doctors front or back are. Fits the theme well, I think. Good job!
Nice graphics and interesting concept. A little tutorial would be nice, in game. (because.. I clicked some gradd or other species. and numbers went up and down mostly and then it was suddenly game over ("Restart"). So its hard to really capture what is going on. A bit of sound or background music would be nice too. Otherwise.. very good job, especially for the first entry!
(btw: to get more ratings yourself it is required to play and rate others games and give feedback, then your game will appear higher in the list. And gets more ratings back. Was a bit hard to find in the zero-votes section.)
Quite liked the monochrome art style. The mechanics are a bit obscure - the target is clear but takes a while to realize you "discover" tiles on the board. Maybe a bit of explanation or tutorial would help.
The flying pig was very cute  and the mouse too, of course. Nice, not easy though - the jumps are hard to calculate and often lives are spent trying to get the length of a jump right. But fun! Good work!
Played offline since there was no one to be found in the lobby - yes, its snake as we love it! Cool idea to make it multiplayer! Good job!
Nice concept. Being an angel is hard, obviously. Some aura-recharge meter would be great and sometimes soldiers were catapulted beyond the screen border and I could not reach them, a small bug maybe? Good job!
Cool game, very addictive indeed. The pulsing neon look and the music went together very well (so, you selected a good tune there), and there is a lot going on onscreen. Collision should nevertheless have more felt "impact" - with some visual hint or shake, and some noise too. Very nice entry!
Yeah the dance party was nice. The games mechanics itself I think I have seen before somewhere.. but the dancing alien bunch made it a cheerful puzzling experience.
(btw: To get more ratings you need to play and rate games yourself, so you get visible in the lists and get the required 20 ratings for a score at the end.. was hard to find your game in the zero ratings category..)
A true cross media experience. Hey, wait, are these in-app purchases? Pay to win?
Looks wonderful.. but.. what system is the download for? Not Windows certainly, rather macOS only? If you come around to uploading a Windows build or a Web-playable version (porting is allowed after Jam end still) I would certainly give it a go!
Nice, an autofighter/idle game, some pretty pixel art too (also, the differently colored landscapes, and the slimes are very cute!). Got killed quite often by these blue, large golems though, so could maybe use a better balancing with monster strength vs items gained. Very chilly game, music fit well too - while maybe a bit to low volume (couldnt get it louder). And made with Godot too! Good work!
@tim77 Thanks for the kind words! The shooting mechanic was one of the things that I dropped because of time constraints, since it was not absolutely necessary. It would have been nice to have some destructible walls or even flying attackers, true. @rhoff95 Actually, I tried a parallax cave background, but it was not pretty and made everything less visible, so I disabled it (its still in the code though) and then had no time left to rework it.
Thanks for all the kind words and time invested in playing!
@thewinrawr Actually thats why there are two ways to go down (and up again), so if you take the other one on the way up, you get an unused checkpoint crystal.
@jamr Glad you liked it, I wanted to recreate the feel of some very old games only dimly remembered from childhood days. Fort Apocalypse anyone?
@alexey-kuzovkov Good idea, maybe for a "high difficulty" mode?
@spydercrawler Yes, I noticed that too, but only after the deadline. I think the collision box on these edges is slightly sharper than 90 degrees.
Thanks everyone for the kind words and helpful comments! I appreciate the time you invested in playing, an I'm trying to rate and comment all your games in return too, may take some days though. Some replys to comments:
@jupiter-hadley @barelyevengames Thank you both for playing my game and giving it video coverage! :vhs:
@alaah yes, that was the idea behind the two paths, so at least half the way would not need to be backtracked exactly the same.
@john-gabriel There certainly is, at least there are several games from the 80s era that build on a similar but not quite same type of flying mechanics. Some of them I played a lot at that time so they probably served as source of inspiration somehow. Just to name.. Dropzone (C64), HERO (VCS2600), and the aforementioned Fort Apocalypse (C64). Thanks for the hint with the pixel perfect switch, will try this out!
@goutye @cogcomp Glad you liked it! :slight_smile:
@breadstix Oh nice, didn't test controller support at all  but yes, I think there is a default controller mapping for the D-Pad in Godot, so ..happy it does work (but probably only in the Windows build, not HTML?).
Awsome! Reached 13 (the double keys/locks) but got stuck there.. The game had a certain Pengo vibe, but with a nice twist (or ..trident). Really fun, and feels very polished for a compo game. Great entry!
Oh, ok. That felt a little like an interactive story somehow. Even if it was 3D and all, good mood. Nice graphics for a compo too - I like the idea to use the grates as barriers which still permit light through. Tried to ignite my torch at the one that was already burning at the start, but then realized they start to give light when placed in the holds. Cool entry
Very nice! Got killed by the large, slightly spooky looking boss though. The graphics style of the enemies reminded me a bit of the prerendered sprites in some late nineties bullet hell shooters, cool. Controls were ok, and I liked how the different floor types were introduced. Had sporadic choppy behaviour in Firefox though, especially during boss battle. Altogether: Great work!
Jazzy music! Got to 370m before finally I ran out of air (and no bubble nearby). Not bad, the swim mechanic could be a bit more responsive, I crashed into spikes several times because one "swim" keypress moved me too far. But nice game nevertheless! (And Godot! Yeah! )
Wonderful pixel art fire and water. And the gameplay gets more and more interesting (when collecting the key cards) and complex. Maybe there could be more checkpoints, especially during the bigger rooms. Really cool game, can't wait to see how it feels with chiptune music and sound effects. Great entry!
Very cool, to see how you extended Twine and added the visual progress feedback for the journey. Also, the songs from the intern and the disc helped much to convey the mood of lonelyness on the long way to the destination, only picking up glimpses of life from nearby systems. While it does not offer much freedom of choice it is an experience worth the time. And the feedback at the end is an interesting idea too. Great job!
Finished fighting broccoli, clowns and mortgages. Nice, first tried to fight with "slash" only because somehow I did'nt realize you could shoot donuts too, but then worked better. Could not really see how much hit points I had left so it was a bit of try and error too. Otherwise, beautiful graphics, and good controls. I also liked the therapists comments conveying the real meaning of the scenes. Good work!
That was a fun game. Played until level nine and got stuck (and ran out of money, the 1000 for level restart are a bit scarce for the larger bombs). The giant nuke bomb got stuck too, that one was hilarious (soo clunky!). Nice music, good levels, very entertaining. Very good entry! Great work!
Really not a bad game at all. And had never seen a typing and a fishing game combined before. It's an easy to understand mechanic too, and works well. Could maybe use a little more variety, if you find time pictures of the catched fish might be nice too. Good work!
Omg, this clunky, heavy sword! Really nice idea, original mechanics with an adorable protagonist. Nice pixel art and music too. Very good entry!
Yay, a twine game! I liked the replay factor, gathering points to trade in for more equipment. (But what can I do with 4 points? ) Some ambient sounds could fit well, maybe. Or even some black-and-white mood pictures from that era, just as an idea. Nice storytelling! Good job!
Wow. That was quite an impressive interactive tale of conspiracy and annihilation. Blending the X Files, Matrix vibes and The Day After. Do we still believe? Loved the narrative, the graphic presentation was extra polished, sound/music were great. And all the footage, this must have been a lot of work to compile. Great entry!
Really cool, good story, great visuals and audio. The vastness of the voyage becomes more and more apparent with each step further from home, and the mood of lonelyness and distance gets almost overwhelming, especially when the longest bit of the voyage will probably be the last. Reminds me a bit of the mood in Nolans "Interstellar", for some reason. Well made, great entry!
Nice graphics, the endless stairwell down is a great take on the theme. One issue I had: When the second bar (exhaustion? stamina?) reaches zero, there is no way to attack or block, and the bar does not replenish while being attacked, so it is essentially game over? Otherwise I liked it, a little sound would be nice :) Great work for compo!
Great, got to the "my boss is a meanie". Wonderful pixel art, and gets more and more removed to fantasy and fairyland as the levels progress. Cool mechanic, the between-sleep-and-awake. And fitting music too. Good job, I like it!
Interesting take on the miner theme, the NPC hurried away and down quickly most of the time, so I got stuck... Art and sound are nice and fit the game, could maybe be a bit less repetitive. One thing, can the HTML view be made larger? Was hard to see on my laptop screen. Good job!
Wow, that was great! Got rescued by the Merbunny at the end. :) Very good music, the lyrics are really funny (and fitting too!), a rare thing to have music with lyrics in the jam. Steering is ..not easy.. and often the space between rocks is blocked by a car or a shark and its impossible to continue. And yes, the Music ended after a while and then only the jazzy brass stabs remained. :) Amazing entry! Good job!
Nice game, cute graphics and matching chiptune music. I felt a little lost because there was no indication where to go to. Also, some of the enemies just jumped at me, no chance to evade. Then after a while I reached the lower border of the map and got into level two - where I was instantly killed by some flying objects. Maybe some landmarks or a minimap showing where the goal is would be helpful. Otherwise I enjoyed it, fun game! Good work!
That was really fun, great graphics and good audio, also small details like the cashier sound when trading in gold for upgrades. And a very motivating game loop, with the upgrades only possible with deeper gems. All in all .. great, super-polished entry. Felt and played almost like a finished mobile game! Great work! :thumbsup:x2
That was great. Very cool mystery / investigative / hacking experience. Got stuck somehow after I decrypted the file. And got logged out of the mail accounts very often and had to log in again. Otherwise.. very nice! And this OS definitely had some Win*95 feeling! Great work!
Too cute this little slime. Good gameplay, difficulty is well balanced, easy to understand and control. Music and art go well together too. I really liked it, even if I often had to reset the level because I smashed one piece too early. Good entry!
Cool, played the Infocom treasures when younger a lot. And very nice to see interactive fiction and text adventure entries in the jam, even if they are hard to find. (there should be tags on games for easier search) The game was nice and short, I found the "wisdom" on on the walls very amusing, and who knows, maybe we just do not yet understand this turtle thing? Good job!
A short and interactive experience. Mood was quite intense, the introduction prepared very well for the interactive bit. As said before, mouse sensitivity is a bit off in the web version, but was ok, could navigate. And: you deserve to be happy! Good work! One recommendation: You should play and vote for other games, then you will raise in the balance and receive more ratings yourself (you need about twenty for a score in the end)
Nice concept, felt a little like DigDug too. Good merge of mechanics, even if I often ran out of defuse kits. Music is cool too. Good work!
Cool, some sounds were a bit loud (got really spooked by the crows in level 2) and you can do enormous dash-skips. But otherwise, runs fine. I like the visuals of the dream portals a lot, that looks very cool. Nice story too. And.. Godot! :v: Good work!
That looks really cool! And a fresh concept too (the shrinking mechanic). For some reason turning did not work in the web version for me, so got stuck quickly - but in the downloadable windows build it is allright. The ambient music is nice too. Good work!
Very nice, the story is gripping and the music fits well. Movement in the open areas was quite slow, maybe this could be adjusted? Otherwise: Good job, really!
That one was very good, and with an entirely fresh mechanic. Which was absolutely not easy to get into  but also the art style and music, amazing entry!
Very moodful piece, an interactive tale more than a game - or maybe a (not walking but) caterpillar simulator? Either way, I liked it, and with voiceover too, that felt complete. And deep, which also fits the jams theme. Great entry!
That was a nice one, a take on Alice in Wonderland. Played through until "to be continued..". It was nice that several mechanics and view are explored, from top view collecting to sideview jump and run, and also a bit of visual storytelling. Quite good, and the retro GameBoy aesthetics fit! Great job!
Nice graphics in this tech demo. The animation blending could possibly be improved (to improve responsiveness), as often the run animation got stuck, or the direction did not change in time. But all in all a nice start, and totally impressive that you did the full mocap and modeling for a jam, even this bit feels kinda epic.
Hah, that was good. Really funny! "yes I know there are three doors.." So cool, having a FMV game in the jam. (For replay maybe a "skip scene" button would be great, but dont worry, was great as is) Amazing entry!
Great mood, good ambient noises, and nice pixel art. Kind of a pixel art walking simulator  Unfortunately I was struck with bugs, got stuck in a wall once and in the borders twice (so could still move, but the viewport did not follow anymore) and needed to restart. But anyway: Good job!
These Gauntlet vibes! Straightforward and fun! Made it to level 9, it is very entertaining. Also, the deep words of wisdom.. Good design choices, ye olde shoppe is a nice twist, so you can continue playing even after life runs out. Maybe a description of the key assignments would be good, I fiddled a bit until I discovered what key does what. Great job, really!
That was fun! Got stuck in a later room where I couldnt figure out in which order to jump to reach the exit (and was therefore impaled a lot. ouch.) Nice low colour pixel art and fitting music, and the controls and mechanic work very well here. (And: Made with Godot, yeah! ) Great work, really.
Cool, another Twine entry. Yes, lots of text, an interactive short story - but that was to be expected. I found it a good read and the two endings (which I have seen) are equally cool. I found it (especially at the start) very detailed for a compo game, that level of detail decreased a little to the end, probably due to time constraints? But overall, very nice. Maybe it could be broken up in smaller paragraphs for better flow, or accompained by matching ambient sounds/ music / noises to enhance the multimedial experience. But all that is post jam work, and I liked it how it is. Good job!
Not so bad, could imagine this as a nice mobile game. Graphics are simple but nice, could use some sounds or music, though - would enrichen the game. And maybe either a second level or some kind of endless mode so there is something to play after the "you win". Good work! (btw you need to play and rate others games to receive ratings yourself and reach the 20 ratings for a score at the end  )
"You managed to pull yourself out of the darkness". Nice game, great mood, I like the pixel art! The sounds were really terrifying, especially the wolf noises (self made? wow!). It is a bit hard to get the wolf to let go of me when he appears, maybe I did not do it right, but otherwise great entry!
I liked the bombing mechanic to progress further down, but needed a moment to really get into it. Also, I first tried to collect the red enemies instead of avoiding them. Altogether a cute little game. (The music might be a bit repetitive though) Good work!
The idea is quite original, Socrates as a guide was nice too. But I was not able to pick up any of the notes, so I had to guess when talking to the first demon (worked, but pure luck). The platforming was ok, while it was not easy to guess where the next platform is, it helped I could try again often. Some music or sound during the platforming would be nice, so I see potential for further work on thie project. All in all, interesting concept, fusing VN/hellish dating sim with platforming. The idea is cool, so good work, nevertheless! Ah.. and, you should play and rate others games, so you get a higher Ratings Balance and get more ratings yourself (you need about 20 for a score in the end).
That was..unique. Less a game than an interactive experience. Something you would find in a virtual exhibition, maybe. Very cool idea. And yes, I will have a look later, to see what has accumulated.
Um..yes..fish..got many hearts but the game did not advance. I liked the anime-pixel-art style though, that was nice. There should be more choices and the girls do need to remember their likes a bit better, as someone before already mentioned. And it is rather easy to impress the girls because the most positive answer is always the first one. Nice!
Yummy! A fun take on the theme, it could use some sounds or music for nicer presentation. And the food components are tricky to select using the mouse, so they could maybe be a little bigger? Nice job!
Couldnt get past the loading screen either. Sorry....
Hey that was really cool, I am always trying to play many Twine entries in the LD jams (because I like stories), but they are hard to find, actually. Loved the dark atmosphere, the moody music and then the story going in circles but revealing more and more. Great. Got the "destroyer" ending. Very good entry! (Edit: got the "keep walking" ending later)
Nice, a rhythm game. While I did not manage to get past the first level (failed, always, but I am notoriously bad at rhythm games).. I noticed the score does not reset? But cool idea, really. Great job!
Nice, Ascii art and somehow nethack style. "reunited at last" but died a lot until then. Cool music, minimalist graphics. Found it a bit hard to understand whats going on and what the letters mean, but after a bit of trial and error.. Good work!
Very nice! Soylent Green  great reference. I liked the story and the writing, and I am always happy when I find Twine entries in the Jam. Took a while to figure out how to proceed to level 11 because the option for the canary was scrolled out of the screen window (laptop screen). Good work!
I had problems staying in the deeper level, the dream energy just ran out way too fast. But good idea, also the slightly more fuzzy visuals in the deeper levels. True, the narrator was talking very fast, and steering (also in the digital clock stage) is a bit clumsy. But good work. :slight smile:
That was cool, kind of a vector style game with unique graphics style. Very nice also was the accelerating music. Since I could not get the HTML version to start I downloaded the source and played it in-Engine. There I noticed the music is generated to match the speed, nifty! Wondered how it keeps pace and matches the rythm. (and thanks for playing my game too!)
Not so bad at all, with a little chiptuney background music and polish maybe? Control felt quite good, and the animation for jumping and fighting was fluent. And "the path is the goal", so congrats! And good job!
Oof, hard mode platformer. Needed many tries to even get to the second screen level. And not easier when it adds scrolling and forces the player to be quick. But, nice music, nice pixel art. Plays better in fullscreen (tried the web build). Good work!
So, maybe the story is - you wont get rich digging in mines? Always lost while digging, but when I left always (and survived!) I won? Interesting game, a bit of sound would be nice I think. Good job!
Nice little puzzler. Took me a moment to realize how to handle the reflecting balls but then went quite smoothly. There is an area a bit further down where it is not clear where to run to, and there are spikes that can not be seen before a jump - that was kind of try and error for a while. Ah, and when the HTML5 version is not fullscreen, some of the star-switches can not be seen. The rest is cool! Good work!
Interesting, a logic simulator with gate timing in a jam. I managed to gather some points and even steer right and left with the one button, but I somehow liked to be able to place another one (for up/down control). Mainly consisted of a not gate between button to left, and an and gate with both inputs to the button and output on right. And down always on. :v: I liked the ultra-lowres pixel art. Could use some sounds maybe.
