That was a nice one, a take on Alice in Wonderland. Played through until "to be continued..". It was nice that several mechanics and view are explored, from top view collecting to sideview jump and run, and also a bit of visual storytelling. Quite good, and the retro GameBoy aesthetics fit! Great job!

Nice game! I liked the Game Boy style and the art. Nice adaptation of Alice in Wonderland as well.

Oh the aesthetics *-*. I like playing through all these different views and mechanics. Really Good job! :)
An interesting take on Alice in Wonderland, I liked it :)
The music gets annoying really quickly though

@adamsmccall The one that is in the topdown hall and the platformer, or all of them? Either way, I'll understand.
@gilokko All of them to be honest, maybe that's a limitation of GB Studio but they're just too short :/
I really like the idea you went for here! I also always like seeing other retro console games in these jams. I'm so glad GBStudio came around.
I liked your book-ish graphics and the design in the later sections. I also liked the idea of multiple gameplay styles. I think varying styles like this could be a lot of fun in a fully fleshed out game. This was also a clever use of the theme.
I always try to give at least a little constructive feedback, so like someone else mentioned the music was kind of a weak point. No one particular song stood out, but the songs felt very simple/short. That didn't take away from the game though - it was still fun!
The game ended with a to be continued, so I hope you're able to build this up into the game you envision. Thanks for a fun game!
I love the old Game Boy feeling  Nice Job!

The platformer controls felt pretty good and the overall mood of the game was nice. The music gets repetetiv pretty fast. Hitboxes of the monsters were a bit of i think. But you implemented so many different things in your game its pretty amazing. Good job i enjoyed your game!
Fun change up of little sections and it all fits very well, the high pitched song got a bit annoying and some sprites went through each other a bit. Nice overall though

I love that you made an actual gameboy game! It was a sweet experience, would be cool with a full game. It was nice with the diferent views. My only complaint is that the music is only three notes, it gets quite hard on the ears after a while. Otherwise the gameplay works well in it's simplicity and could be expanded upon nicely.
Good luck on continuing with the game if you do that!
Good work!

Nice game, famous story and cool retro-style! But for my point of view it needs more choices in gameplay. However it's nice work! Good luck!
my favorite entry so far! great idea to adapt Alice in wonderlands to a gameboy game. I loved it, it's very beautiful and it has a lot of personality. Great job. Only the music was a bit annoying, but its often the case with gameboy games right :) congrats!!!
Nice adaption of Alice in Wonderland. Neat pixelart and fitting sounds.
Really good attempt at tackling the daunting challenge of making a video game adaptation of Alice’s Adventures Under Ground / Alice in Wonderland!
Great use of GBstudio and making something that runs on the actual hardware, that must have been a challenge!
Like others pointed out the music is a little too short in loop length and a bit too high pitched in places which made it kind of grating the longer it went on.
The mixtures of gameplay works well though and I enjoyed going from top down to side scrolling platformer. I really enjoyed you turned Alice's tears into enemies, that's very appropriate for the era!
Also nice amount of varied art for the cutscenes, getting all that done in the time frame, hats off to you!
Overall I say this a good foundation to build upon, and hope you continue to work on this after the jam/polish it more and work on the music more/hire a composer since it seems like you did everything yourself!
Great job on finishing!
really trippy and a bit odd, but thats just the story! Really loved the GB implementation, the narration was presented nicely, and the game didn't feel too long to play. It was a good effort to combined different game mechanics into the one. Good work Gilokk!!
That was interesting. Points mean nothing indeed. Entertaining narrative and consistent art style helped to really immerse deep into the experience. Not sure if the platformer part was necessary - it didn't feel great, and making a platformer feel good just takes too much time to be able to do anything else, so it might have been better to not include it at all and just focus on top-down gameplay. Though I guess it works as a proof of concept. Anyway, it was fun and engaging experience.
