LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Deep Descent by Predominant 2021-04-28T12:02:13Z

I said on your stream I that would try and beat the high score but after a lot of introspection I finally accepted that I was not good enough to beat it. Took some time to get a grip on the rotation but i eventually managed to get it. Fun little game, as said above i'd definitely see a mobile version for this.

Good job :)

Monkey Quest by paulloz 2021-04-29T20:05:16Z

This was really good. The music, the graphics, I mean, everything was perfectly executed and coherent. I even managed to save all the monkeys even if I'm not a fan of the genre - *meaning i'm bad at this* -. I was just on board with Bubbles, running from ennemies is totally what I would do. Great job!

The Hookmarine by Elendow 2021-04-26T16:50:45Z

What a lovely little game. I absolutely loved that little submarine with its frog tongue. Took me a few seconds to master the hook but once I got it it was a pleasure to play. There's a good feeling about it when you manage to navigate and grap the barrels at the same time, I felt like a pro player

When I actually made a mess in the ocean

Great job!

Boombox by auxC 2021-04-28T22:27:18Z

The juiciness of this one, I'm really impressed. Good job :)

Far Gone by TomBuston 2021-04-29T19:39:37Z

⏰ Thanks everyone for the comments! it's so nice to see so many of you playing and giving feedback, we really appreciate it!

@paulloz Thanks for the VOD! I totally missed your stream and it's always interesting to actually see a live reaction to your game :).

What Swims Beneath Us. by DrunkardWolf 2021-04-26T15:07:13Z

514 meters. I guess it's not much but I'm afraid of depth and scary underwater monsters so I tread carefully. I even think mt heart synced with the heartbeat x). Awesome job on this, perfectly polished on every aspect, great job! :)

Going Down by omer1615 2021-04-29T20:57:05Z

"Unexpected decline of Stocks" _**DOUBT**_

Fun concept, I loved the music during the finance game. It was a little repetitive but i didn't stop me from going on. I wanted to Okay this boss till the end. And what a satisfying ending 😈

Paleontologist with bombs by cjgammon 2021-04-26T14:32:12Z

Found myself caught in the digging process, luck was with me cause I made it to level 5 like Turkey, haha. Straightforward and effective, it works well but yes, as a lot of people already said, adding clues to avoid too much random will help! Good job :D

all the king's men by otresnjak 2021-04-26T14:22:35Z

The connection between the mechanics and the story is awesome! I really enjoyed the mood and the overall consistency of the game, great music too! The only issue i had was with the difficulty of some levels where I got stuck for too long, haha. Great job!

Donut Chat by Colletto Gregory 2021-04-29T22:35:26Z

That was something else! The answers made me smile a lot and I totally recognized Yann in these lines, haha.

The fact that you rescoped everything mid-jam but still came up with this is impressive. I personnally like this kind of experience where it's actually just chatting with a bot - *and I know how branching dialogues can be exhausting* -.

I'm sure you already know this, I saw some comments mentioning it but there is a scaling issue on the web version, that's not blocking but it can bug the eye. Also I would have loved an option to restart without f5-ing cause I'm lazy and maybe a real "point final" when we reach the end of a dialogue The colors and the music really worked together, good job on that. I'm so glad I was sober while playing though, jk.

Good job :)

*I'm still thinking about the geeteehaveeeee*

Deep Sleep Explorer by Raivk 2021-04-26T19:19:15Z

I really like the concept of microgames linked to "dream phases". Audio is awesome and the overall mood works very well. A timer would be very welcome in this type of game. Great game :)

Down, Down, Down by Gilokko 2021-04-26T20:00:07Z

Oh the aesthetics *-*. I like playing through all these different views and mechanics. Really Good job! :)

Blackout by Frasse 2021-04-28T08:36:16Z

**The hair and cigarette animation will forever stay in my mind**. Not only that of course, everything looks and sounds good in there.

There is not much to say except really small details that have no reason to be pointed for a jam (cause the level of polish is increeeeeedible). If you want to take it further, consider the possibility to skip dialogues and maybe a little pass on the affordance/logic of some elements (i'm thinkin about the pack of smokes). But this is being picky for the LD.

Amazing entry, one of the best. Godd job :)

A Taste of the Past by Emily Pitcher 2021-04-30T08:16:28Z

My throat hurts and I'm about to have a meeting for work, lol. This really gave me strong ghibli vibes, and now I just want to cook a family recipe, *all it took was a taste from the past*.

*brb crying*

Ok I'm back. The colors and the music were so cozy, playing this in the morning with my coffee and orange juice was definitely the perfect move.

I'm sure you already know this but the last puzzle with the bowl has a very little hitbox and it can easily block someone. Not me cause I clicked everywhere, I wanted to see mom.

Thanks for sharing this :)

Swing Shroom by Quite Good 2021-04-27T08:51:08Z

This is beautiful : art, animation, sound design (really great job on the different mushrooms, they're so cute). The overall mood of the game works really well for me. In terms of design, it's simple and effective, the only thing I'll add is maybe that the hook felt a little weak or maybe it's the level design that's a bit too narrow. Thanks for this, it's really great (:

Into the Forest by asdfman 2021-04-26T14:48:37Z

Good idea behind the different sources of light and the effect it has on the enviro. I liked the mood too! Not too dark, really felt like a lost child who spent too much time playing with their friends, except... monsters, I thought they were fire camps first so i ran to them x) Maybe the monsters spawn too soon, doesn't give us the time to understand each item. Good job anyways! :)

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Card O''Clock by Bastienre4 2022-04-05T18:20:11Z

Impressive. Held my breath at the end of my run when everything was red on the board, haha. A simple concept polished to perfection and very well explained. Great job on this! :sparkles:! image_2022-04-05_201934.png

Necro-king by filgreen3 2022-04-05T17:48:21Z

Great work! I don't see strategy games like this one often during jams, it's refreshing and suits the theme perfectly. I couldn't help but see the among us crewmate on the bard's body, haha.

I won't point the obvious regarding sound design, I'm sure you already know but honestly, It didn't felt like it was cruelly missing something. I played with my music on and it felt nice. Batlle sounds in these type of game tend to get old if not chosen wisely, and i prefer nothing over an irritating sound. Congrats on the entry! :sparkles:

One Bite by Lenan 2022-04-05T17:04:44Z

What a juicy game!

It's very satisfying to move around the arena while devouring farmers and guards. Easy to imagine a sequel for this concept. Congrats on the game !

If you try hard enough, you can win. by Rxbbie 2022-04-06T00:23:00Z

Very satisfying little game where I really tried to delay the inevitable

I really liked the different names you gave to the achievements/modes, really pushed me to go as far as i could, but my dodging skills have a limit, haha. Some feedbacks could improve the experience but overall it's a really great job you accomplished. Very nice work!

Battery Low by Milestone Games 2022-04-05T16:14:32Z

What a great entry!

Took me some tries to complete cause I kept on frantically clicking over short distances, and then I understood that I was doing everything wrong, haha.

The level of polish is impressive, wether in terms of art, sound and balancing. The little "ouch" from collisions even made me apologize to Rovar. This game is *"chef's kiss"* tier, congratulations!

CAT SLEEP PROTECT by tutoa 2022-04-05T16:49:57Z

This is precious.

A game with a cat is inherently good but with several cats ? Of different colours ? And you can grab them ? It's awesome. Had to go through some trial and error to grasp the subtility of the "you can leave a bit of tail outside it won't hurt the cat", but I really had fun playing this game.

The physics is hilarious and made me think of the sticky men toys i used to play with when I was a child.

Congrats on the game :)

The Railroad to Elsewhere by Save Sloth Studios 2022-04-05T17:13:37Z

A lot of childhood games came to mind while playing *The Railroad to Elsewhere*. I thought about Spyfox and professor Layton, just because of the mood you managed to create. I really enjoyed this little adventure: nice writing, a pleasant music, and the art really spoke to me! Great work folks :)

Jailbound Joyride by AmberFall92 2022-04-05T17:31:10Z

Got to love a polished game like this one. Bravo on the assets, I just love the the colours you chose. Jumping on cop cars was really satisfying.

I'm usually really bad at these arcady games and tend to give up easily but hey look at me starting as a noobwaffle, and ending up as an outlaw, what an incredible step up right ? Congrats on the entry! :sparkles:
