itch page says it needs a password
**EDIT: We've now published the game, no password required**
Hi @xenosns! Thanks for checking out our game! :raised_hands: We'll publish the game closer to the JAM deadline later today.
A password is needed to reach Itch.io game page. Please fix it, I really want to play this game. Mark me here when is done, please.
I'll edit my comment when the game is unlocked & leave a review, the title & description are enticing.
A game about a space rover? I'm in! Too bad I can't get in because the page is password protected :(
Loved it. The sound and attention to detail was extraordinary. This felt like a very complete experience.
**EDIT: We've now published the game, no password required**
@xenosns @jungle @chilljams @poopgames So so sorry! We had it in password protected mode while we were figuring out some last minute issues. We're still tweaking things but would love it if you have it a try. Link up there  Thank you! :sparkles:
Now I could play, thank you. I really loved this game. I've tried many times but I didn't figure how to get the last artifact. Grapichs are so sweet, color pallete is great. The general composition of art is great, I mean, the minimap really remembers these kind of old space/undersea exploration. Sound FX makes it immersible. The rotation condition to navigate the rover is very nice, maybe it is the secret of power management. Congratulations.
Very nice game with a great mood. You really managed to create an immersive experience. I really like all the polished parts like the tire tracks.
I love DOS-era retro graphics! :floppy_disk:
Got the point of the game - you need to use a map to navigate your rover by the shortest path, right? Ah, and your game fits the theme quite well. Overall, good job!
Excellent game, the art & sound are both exceptionally well-done & they do a great job at immersing you into this alien planet. Having the trackers on the map be more clear if it's a science artifact or a power artifact would be nice, but overall this is a very well-made game.
The graphics are specular! I found the controls took a bit of getting used to, but once I figured them out I was good to go!
I am also a Construct dev, so it is always fun for me to play other games made with the platform!
Nicely done!
Fantastic little game! Difficulty level was perfect; I beat it on the second try and was able to experience the whole game without having to grind, but found it a nice puzzling challenge. Really enjoyed that I could see my tracks from the previous try! I did seem to experience a bit of jitter but it's possible it was an effect from running low on battery or something.
I LOVED the audio, especially the little robot voice saying "energy" and "science"! Graphics are great, and the user interface was clear and easy to understand. You mentioned that you had fun doing this, and that shines through. Marvelous tribute to Oppy overall; great job team (and dogs)!
All members of our team was amazed by how good is this project from graphics to mechanics. Well done game, all my praise go to you
Amazing entry! loved that the trail persisted so i could optimize my path in my next attempt
Game looks and feels great at mobile! Rover voice is adorable! Traces of previous run helped move further until I noticed a minimap =) Great job! I got a lot of fun!
Wow what an awesome game, how the heck did you build this so fast? Loved every second of it.
Awesome take on the theme! I enjoyed playing this one, it is simple to play and entertaining. Stylistically you knock it out of the water with this one, the rover rover has an incredible amount of detail for the tiny group of pixels it is and the environment is fantastic. The audio design of the rover movement also impressed me with the changes while turning. Final time (3rd try): 72 seconds. Great game!
(I guess I can forgive you for sniping the same title as my game just before I uploaded)
Very sharp, extremely polished. The controls and auditory feedback on the rover are very satisfying. The ending gives nice closure to the inevitable end for our rover friend. Love the personality in the text and UI, as well as the artifacts strewn about. Really well done.
This is so much fun!! One of my favorites so far!!
This is such a great game! The graphics and the sound is so good! Great work!
Ah, brings back memories of getting all emotional over a machine on another planet. Nice work. Love the art!
This is the best looking game I've played thus far, crazy skills from the team.
Absolutely beautiful. Fun and addicting; gorgeous style.
Love the style of this game! What a joy to navigate Rovar.
Okay I really like this game... and the fake loss at the end after getting all the science object caught me... like... ooooh, sigh, wait... YES! Would I play it one more time... No, several more times. The UI is great, I loved the faded tracks the show where I have been from attempt to attempt... that acted as a helper and was appreciated both from a game play and from a game design point of view. The minimap with the hint on the last item to go was a nice touch also.
The only low rating I felt I had to give was on the theme. It seems there is a way to win after all... you can collect all the science object if you try hard enough... to me it made it seem that I had won. But my interpretation of the theme is that losing is inevitable. In this case it is the death of the robot that is inevitable... but you can win before it dies if you help it successfully complete the mission.
Ignoring my take on the theme slip-up this is a great game and deserves more visibility.
Nice game! The graphics are really cool :D
This is brilliant! Loved the art, the audio and the overall mood of the game, it feels fantastic to play. It was pretty simple, but the concept definitely has the potential to grow into something more sophisticated difficulty-wise. Increasing the turn radius with speed is a great mechanic making you waste more energy on tight maneuvers (I think it takes more energy? I'm not sure, but it would make sense) to make you plan ahead and avoid the terrain. Lastly, the faded trail of your past ghost is just an awesome touch. The whole experience is very balanced and *playable*, which is a pretty darn hard thing to achieve in our experience (our last three game jams resulted in prototypes that look and feel better than they play, lol).
Oh, and yes, Rovar and the little dude from our game totally got along! :)
Great polished game ! I really loved the mood of it. And the trail of past run is a incredible idea. Good job to you. I just find it a little bit too hard to fully enjoy the ride. Maybe a tuned down energy consumption could make it more accessible?
Lovely little game! Nice mood and wonderfull art style. I really liked how the turning of the rover was implemented. Would have maybe liked there to be few more obstacles so you'd have to navigate around them more. Otherwise really cool concept!
The controls were smooth and the art great. Like others have said, I liked the idea of battery dying as a means of delaying the inevitable, but I agree that with the theme, there should be no chance of completing a level, even if the ending is bad.
The audio seems to be getting stuck across games and can get a bit jarring.
All that said, I did give it a good several plays and I found it enjoyable!
I'm in love with the style. Awesome job with making all the little details like engine hum, parts wobble, track marks and voice work together in creating a beautiful experience. Got all the artifacts on the second try, and the ending was bittersweet but rewarding. Thank you!
Great game! The mood is fantastic, the retro effect is perfect. The "twist" at the end when you get all the science is perfect and makes the whole gameplay experience. I didn't expect the gameplay to be about optimization and it was a pleasant surprise.
My principal remark would be that energy is spent when clicking and not depending on the distance/speed. Once I understood that, I started cliking outside of the gameplay area to reach further while spending less energy.
Audio is great too, brings everything together. Well done!
Very innovative and fun! Graphics and sound were on point. Controlling the rover felt good and realistic. I wish the gameplay had more features, Perhaps some type of enemy or a powerup. I loved it though.
I can't believe this was made for a gamejam. I honestly think this game has market capabilities. Amazing entry. Hats off to you guys!
Great entry, I especially liked the sound effects. Well done :)
Really awesome work! Greatly polished graphics work, nice audio feedback, simple and elegant mechanics that fits the theme. Bravo!
It's a bit laggy in the browser sometimes though.
Loved the graphics and the retro effect! The colors are really pretty
Really nice game. The perfect kind of game for a format like the ludumDare. My score 55. Thanks !
Wooooow!!! Reeeallly brilllant game, the graphic and the concept are awesomes! All is perfect in game.
Only a minimal mistake, the scheme-map / HUD is clickable and the buggie go to this point, maybe is better that only the "terrain" must be clickable?
Congrats for this amazing game!
Thanks for the report @ayosetrujillo, we'll look into it!
Great game, love the graphics and the sound direction!!
Great entry - I liked the aesthetics... One thing... I tried clicking on the map.... this does NOT move the camera .. it isn't ignored either  it tries driving to the underlying point ... small bug - really minor...
Very good job on this one :thumbsup_tone1:
One of the coolest minimaps ever
Great game, love the style and how everything fits the theme. Nice work
What a great energy! Very nice idea and execution. If for some reason, the humankind was depended on my rover controlling skills we would perish in 1 minute. The pixel art is to the point and cute , the voice sfx are hilarious, the gamefeel is intriguing to solve the puzzle and the ui very helpful and clever.. btw i truly laughed every time i heard "ouch".. and they were many. Overall a great entry guys, well done :)
This looks and sounds really great! All the little robot voices and dynamic rover sounds are super cool, and I love the diagetic UI. A great entry congrats!
Very cute game, really enjoyed the realistic routing on the rover. Only feedback i can think of is that the reveal of the last science bit is cute, but would be worth to telegraph it before it happens, i.e. have the panel vibrate a bit before it falls off
Great game! I loved the concept and the art so much! Nice job!
This is a well rounded experience, every aspect of it feel polished. I have nothing negative to say about it. Good job!
Mechanics, Graphics, and Audio are on the best level possible. I'm not too sure about the game design though. I've finished the game on my first run without thinking much about it (maybe I was just lucky). It's not like the game is not fun to play, but It is just short and simple (I want more :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:).
wow! Great game!
The graphics, audio and mechanics are all perfect. Everything just works together in such a nice way. Your team did a good job there's seemingly no bugs or wonky aspects.
This could easily be a full blown puzzle game and people would love it! Amazing work.
Beatiful artstyle! Nice Soundeffects and cool gameplay! Thank your for this cool Game!
What a nice little game! +++ for posting some small music/sfx workflow teasers :)
Looks gorgeous and there is so much polish in there! The engine sounds, the tracks, the movement speeding up... The UI is really nice too. I really like it overall. Great job, guys!
The overall feel of the game is super nice and polished. Great entry with much love to detail.
Awesome work with the audio and visuals! I love how you save the previous run's tracks like in car games and the map system was a great idea. The gameplay itself could use some more events or action but you have a nice base to work on
Simple game but very effective. Loved the art style and the robotic voice especially when hitting a wall. Great work.
That was a nice little game! Took me a while to notice that distance and battery consumed don't entirely match.
Really well executed - simple but not boring, and a really nicely conceived premise. The sounds were a perfect match, and the whole aesthetic felt like it really knew what it was about. Great work!
Very polished for a jam game. Art style is gorgeous and nothing sticks out looking like "placeholder art".
sprites are aweasome !
Adorable! Such a cute game, I almost cried when he hit the wall and let out a little Ouch! The ending really got me too.
Best so far! Sooo cute! Everything is polished and perfect. A few more gameplay mechanics, obstracles, powerups, randomness would be fun
Soooo cute, smooth and polished, wish I could do this level of game dev, this is astounding, this is magic :tophat:
Retry with a fixed map is a good concept which made each energy out meaningful and could help your next game play. Finally I reached the ending scene. Good game!
It's super sweet ! It looks & sound amazing. Controls are great too, it's easy to pick up while being interesting.
I always went to the closest objective and cleared the game easely, I would have loved to have a mechanic/level design that makes it just a little bit trickier/makes me care more about the path to take. This said it's fine for it to be super chill, I had a great time playing it.
Really cool, very nice to control and fun to try and beat your time! Great work!
Fantastic art and colour palette, sound design was great - really made the rover endearing. I like that the previous trackmarks remained on each run so you could see the paths you had taken to guide yourself. Great job!
What a great entry!
Took me some tries to complete cause I kept on frantically clicking over short distances, and then I understood that I was doing everything wrong, haha.
The level of polish is impressive, wether in terms of art, sound and balancing. The little "ouch" from collisions even made me apologize to Rovar. This game is *"chef's kiss"* tier, congratulations!
Really clean game. I Probably spent 10 minutes trying to draw a heart with the rover and this was my best attempt XD:
heart.PNG
Music, art, controls everything just meshed beautifully together!
Great game, the attention to details is amazing.
Great work!
Oh, I wish it would be more levels. And a bit sad that I got to the last item full of energy (well. not quite full, but!) and game ended anyway. And those movements are sooo satisfying. And sand trails. Omg.
First I was angry I can't control with my keyboard, but then I realised that this was done for a reason and the reason is super cool! Definetely one of mt favs entries
You made me sad for a rover robot, amazing, the whole game, probably the most polished graphics and sound I've seen in the jam.
Stunning artwork and a really cool idea, love it!
@yogurtthehorse - I hope you stuck around a little after finishing it.. ;)
@mascoll yeah of course and I've seen I've did it in 68 seconds, but still I want more!
Loved the art style. The game itself seemed like it needed a bit more to make it more entertaining. But overall you guys did a great job!
Overall super solid entry!!
I found it a bit counterintuitive that the energy drained not by how much distance was driven, but rather how often I clicked. Once I figured that out, beating it was quite easy :)
Other than that, I liked the art style, I liked the interpretation of the theme and I liked the rover of course :)
Very nice atmospheric game, I liked it. I realized that I needed to look at the card with 4 discharged batterie
Extremely polished and complete! Had a good time playing, the art is amazing. GJ.
Beautiful graphics and very polished, needs more levels though! đ
Great story, design and implementation. One minus that this game is too short. First attempt, 100s :D
So much personality! I love it. Really good entry, I want that rover character in more games.
wow, so cool game. i love the voice of robot...really good good game
Screenshot_2022-04-05_21-46-04.png I really liked the dithering effect in the background art. The game was also great with a great twist on the theme. Showing the previous tracks in the game world was also a really great game design. That way you could see how you could improve your path and you would knew where to go the second time around.
This game looks really nice. I like the traces of the car.
Oh, I see how much effort was put into this game's overall style! Sound, music and art style blend together so well, the result feels fantastic! My favorite parts are the robot's voice, a Zachtronics-esque UI and a beautiful color scheme. Also, appreciated trails not disappearing between the attempts, they helped me correct the course.
With that said, I must admit, the late game performance was pretty poor on Firefox. I'll make sure to revisit the game with a different browser later. :)
Here's my playthrough, if you wanna see it. https://youtu.be/_YrVzsbzXYE
Really nice game. The only small criticism I'd have is that it's quite short, but of course it is a jam so thats nothing too serious.
I loved the graphics. As the previous commenter said, showing the old tracks is a great addition. The UI is clean and simple, and helps practically with planning your route.
The music contributed to a really nice mood that just perfectly set the tone of the game.
Very well done. I imagine this is going to get at least one medal
Really cool game. I wish the map was more randomized but it's still fine as is. I loved the atmosphere and the robot's controls. It's nice that it's not rotating instantly but has to draw a circle to go where you it needs to go
Very good looking game! Loved the sounds that the robot made and the theme is on point :ok_hand: I like that you only had to use your mouse to control the game. The one issue I ran into was that it didn't recognize that I had picked up an artefact so I couldn't progress in that run.
I can draw a d*** in the sand of mars, and it's fucking cool!!!! Great game and visuals
Very clear and clever use of the theme here. The visuals are pleasant and cohesive, and the sound design really brings this up a notch.
Cool game and really nice mood!
Amazing graphics and very interesting idea
Really loved this, amazing graphics and well executed, polished gameplay. The intro message really pulled my heartstrings, poor rover!
Apart from being a great game by itself, I really like that you can see your prevous attempts on respawn. I will definitely get back to it later!
Great work!
"Science... Energy" Lots of fun! Great graphics, great gameplay, just an overall really polished jam submission.
The rover's voice is adorable. Really fun planning out your route through trial and error and figuring out how to win. Great pixel art, nice sound design, good music. Awesome entry!
Beautiful artwork and incredible atmosphere, feels like a polished and complete experience! Loved the addition of the tracks both stylistically and to help with the trial and error.
Best game I've played so far, amazing implementation and stylization. Nothing more to say!
nice game! Found movimentating choice very interesting. Music and sounds creates a really nice atmosphere. My mission was accomplished, but I felt sorry for the lil rover robot.
I loved the art and the mood! I finished it pretty easily but I enjoyed it a lot! Need more level! :)
Great jobs!
Special mention for the tire tracks in the ground! It looks great ! :p
Lovely art style and the dialogue audio gives a real quality to the protagonist. Particulary like how the rover tracks persist from each mission. Great job.
Cool game. Did not expect the game to be about what it was. I had fun trying to optimize the puzzle. I also loved the sfx. "Helloo". "Ouch". It was a pleasant surprise.
Overall great submission.
This is really well presented and just stunning art style, especially the Martian surface and the tracks. Controls were unique but intuitive within seconds. Great stuff.
Great game! Love love loved all the presentation. Possibly some of the most appealing sound I've heard in my many jams. At one point my buggy started driving at 2x speed. Buggy buggy I guess. Was desperate to try and discover how I did it but no luck :( Congrats on a lovely little game.
Really amazing work! everything is just great - I especially liked the trailed to show me my old path and the cute sound effects. I have nothing bad to say about this other than a mild performance issue during on of my runs - Great job on submitting
Incredible, I really enjoyed this. I loved the concept and visuals!
My favorite game of the jam so far! Really enjoyed the graphics. Big dub imo
Very nice visuals! I also like the game page design, you can tell that a lot of effort went into *Battery Low*.
Good job!
Very cool and unique entry. I've always been a fan of little minimaps in games. This one suits it perfectly. I also appreciate the little buttons on the Rover Computer to restart and return to the title screen. Tons of nice little game feel stuff hidden in here. The tracks left behind, the changing sound as the rover turns tighter and tighter, it all makes for a really pleasant experience. I managed to finish in 91.91 (an interesting coincidence of numbers).
I would love to see an 'endless' mode to see how many artifacts you can collect before running out of power. Trying to optimize the path between the artifacts was more enjoyable than I expected. Solid entry!
really nice game, loved the robot's voice haha. I wasn't able to finish the game but I enjoyed a lot!
Really nice entry! The pixel art is nicely done, and the dithering effect on the backgrounds give the game a real 90s feel (as you probably intended). The gameplay is simple, but well done and polished (I did fail to notice the minimap the first time around though-appearently I'm not that observant). I did imagine to get myself stuck on a rock at one point resulting in a loss, but luckily the game's pick up and play design makes situations like that not so frustrating. Very solid entry!
nice game ! nice game ,high degree of cpmpletion the first and second tracks make me get to the end in the third round in 101s ;)
loved the little sound effects the robot makes!
well i would stop the mouse clicks outside the map from moving the rover. other then that the game was fun to play. nice job!
Awesome game! The input system is well polished and really fun to interact with.
Here is my playthrough (sorry my sound is like from Mars):
https://youtu.be/to9SN8S0a4o
The polish on this game is amazing, the behaviour of the robot as it turns tight corners and collides into the wall feels realsitic. The robot's sound design is also super great, reminds me a WALL-E. Wasn't able to complete the game yet, I didn't realise you had to return after collecting everything, but one of the top entries I've played so far.
Loved the art style and loved the movement of the car! It was a bit simple and really short, so I was surprised when it ended so early. But I did enjoy the game.
I really neat game with CRAZY good art and atmosphere! I think this is the best game visually that I have seen in the jam. Movement of the rover felt very realistic and nice. I think the only downside was that I have come across a lot of rover exploration games already so it doesnt quite feel too unique in that sense. However, the polish bests them all. well done
Can't say enough good things about the art and sound design here. Loved the robot's speaking voice. Short, simple, very cute.
really great game, the art is amazing, sounds too. the idea good too. the movement of the robot is perfect and the game was overall very easy to understand. GREAT JOB!
Brilliant game. I love everything about it! Really cool.
Great game! The art is just superb! very good job!
Wow, amazing game. Artwork was on point, music and sounds were great, gameplay was smooth, wasn´t to easy, wasn´t to hard, i really like this game!
What a fantastic game! Really liked the sound effects in particular, but the whole package was great! Very well done.
Awesome game! I love sounds, art style and overal atmosphere. Also controls of the rover are.. not expected but it fits great :) And the trails and increasing volume of music are really nice touches. Congrats on cool game :)
Great game! I love the art and sound design! Best game I have played so far!
Nice game. Sometimes the clicking only controls were a bit frustrating when i had to watch the rover drive in big curves around things i wanted to collect.
Neat little game. I haven't found it particularly innovative but it is very well executed and the sound design is one of the best I've heard here so far. Short and enjoyable!
I just loved! all the concept, graphics and sounds are amazing but the font style is not legibl sometimes, and I can click out of viewport, making me lost my way. I don t know why but after some time running my game got laggy. Nice entry!
Very cool one! Everything is properly placed. Level design is perfect, everything properly played, smart details. Sound is very cool and consistent with the gameplay and mood. Had very much fun playing it. Maybe could move the vehicle with keyboard.
Really charming game! The graphics and the sound work well together to make Rovar cute and endearing. Nice way of laying things out to make it interesting to approach the game in different ways to get all the way to the end.
Very amazing game, i love the level design, the art and music too, i feel weird with the controls only, but the game it self its amazing. great job.
Really attractive game. It has fantastic pixel art, well-polished gameplay and good realization overall. Highly recommended!
I thought this was great! I plan to come back and play it again after the jam. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1447965941?t=00h07m32s
Very cute game, i really liked the style and it's always nice to see a beautiful construct game. I only think that when the battery is low it's kinda frustrating to become slower and slower, but i think it also adds to the puzzle nature of the game
Thanks for bringing your game by my stream for feedback! If youâd like to revisit the play and commentary you can view the highlight at https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1447203084
Lovely lonely exploration/puzzle. I liked, but was occasionally frustrated by, the rover's varying choices of turn radius.
It played well knowing I could retry until I solved the puzzle, but I actually feel like the game would lend itself really well to a procgen map, even if it's just look at the radar map and try to plan out a course and then see how well you do.
Some really nice bits of subtle polish that really help sell the experience.
love the pixel visuals!
great rover design. also found a bug where you can collect some items without actually visiting the cell they are in on the map. and the cell stays highlighted as containing an item.
This game is beautiful!! The rover and the environment looks amazing. I really like how simple this game is and it really turned my head trying to figure out what to change about how I'm going about collecting artifacts! I still want to play a lot more!
This is an amazing entry, it reminded me of the old PC point and click games. Gorgeous visual and audio design. The mechanic is simple yet effective. Very well done!
If I had to change something it would be the rover's movement speed that changes from time to time. Sometimes it suddenly accelerates for no apparent reason. But other than this little detail everything feels super polished :)
I recorded myself playing, message me on the Jamâs discord @ Dark Peace and Iâll send it to you. I liked everything excpet for the ending where you have to get to somewhere else after getting all the artifacts. You have no way to know where the ending is before getting it, so you can't optimise your run to leave enough battery to go there.
Wow! I can tell a lot of passion was put into this! Lovely game, great graphics, wonderful theme, and the sound design is top notch!
Holy moly what a game. Good job
I love it. I would probably enjoy it a bit more if the map din't show everything and updated only after you find something. The sound was also great, the engine sounded really nice and reacted to the acceleration.
Controls, Art, Music, Sound Effects, Game Feel just everything is 10/10. You did such a good job!!!
Oh my god, the old tracks feature is brilliant! After I've realized there is a minimap the game became much easier and I stopped looking at my old tracks though. :D I ended up even skipping one energy.
The ending is too cute btw, I can't even...
Untitled.png
Really loved the pixel art and overall vibe. I just wish it was a bit longer -
I love the art style on this game
Cool little game. Might have a little more replayability if there was a randomness element but can understand that some levels might not be clearable at that point. Really nice art. Some text was a little hard to read in the intro.
Ahh, an excellent packaged little treat, I don't mind LD entries being a bit short, it's all about getting a mood through the graphics and sounds, as well as keeping it interesting on an interactive level, for this I think the game is a great success! Even had an emotional impact at the end with the cute little fellah powering down, he did a good job and collected all the artifacts though, so mission well executed! An excellent entry!
Chainsaw Cheerz!
Very cute with the voice and everything :) I feel it captured the theme well also  took me a few tries to beat it but I finally did! Untitled.png
I really like that i can see the tracks from my previous runs. Thats such a good feature!
Super cool little game! I love the simplicity and graphics. I also thought the sound design was some of the best I've seen so far in this jam. Great work!
What a polished game, really fun to play and is very repeatable, which is great because the core mechanic is really fun, well done!
Very solid. One of top tier quality games I've seen around here
Rover audio is just adorable. Really like the immersive UI that makes you feel like you're using a terminal controlling the rover.
Also appreciated that the level is handcrafted rather than procedurally generated. Lets you explore multiple different strategies to find the optimal route, rather than just guessing and hoping for the best each time.
Only issue I had was clicking on the map counted as a waypoint for the rover, which caused it to driver across the whole level and use up all it's energy.
Great work.
Really good game! I enjoyed it a lot! I did not manage to get that last science at the start again after trying several times. also it seems that clicking a lot made the energy go down quicker. also never understood why it sometimes had a massive speedboost, but it seemed to come at a cost of energy which seemed bad.
Really fun and pretty looking game though! Great job!
This game feels very good. Can't name a thing that's missing. Art is very appealing, gameplay is simple but entertaining. A really good game! Also love the retro vibe đšď¸
Fun and good looking game. Liked for the second try that i had to go onthe tracks, before I realized there wa sa map pretty much exactly solving the challenge for you, i think it'd have been way more fun without a map and just trying. I think the theme was captured really well. Cool entry!
Wow, just wow!
I see that you've got quite a big team but it is still **very** impressive how polished and detailed this game is. It's short, true, but I enjoyed every bit of it. Now I want more. Please tell me where to sing up, haha
But seriously, the concept, art, animation, music, sfx and a little bit of story it's all so well done and coherent. The difficulty was also just right for me -- took me a couple tries but I managed to get all the pieces! Can't recommend it enough, definetely one of my favs from JAM entries!
I recorded my playthrough. Here's a link in case you'd like to see it https://youtu.be/aJkdjOKW03M
I LOVE IT! Very clever design, great idea. I think this would make a fantastic mobile game, especially if there would be multiple levels, some obstacles and so on. Really impressive entry taking into consideration the short tiem! :)
Immediate, nerve-wracking, awesomely fun game ! I really appreciated how easy it was to jump in and get to grips with the game, as well as all the small surprises regarding items along the way. The visual/audio package was very polished too, and I really enjoyed the digit voices.
Strengths: - Easy to get to grips with the game and start getting hooked by the gameplay loop - Great balance that teaches you the constraints you are facing - Cool visuals/audio
Possible improvements: - The Pixel Font is hard to read. During previous Ludum Dares, I also used pixel fonts, but I recently tried to use high-res UI on top of Pixel Art (Ă -la-Celeste) - difficult to get right, but easier to read.
Great job !
Good game! Felt very polished, from the art to the music to the UI's. The gameplay loop wasn't too exciting, though. Besides the spotty game design, everything on the front end was top notch. Good entry!
Amazing work! the pixel art here is great, from the animations to the color palette used. I think the highest point is for the sound, really the work that is in that section is a lot. The game is a lot of fun and I find it totally complete and polished, great job!!!
Fantastic art style, concept, and sound.
Great job! The gameplay is pretty simplistic, but I love the slightly indirect controls and the art style is fantasic. Congrats to the team!
Great game! Absolutely loved everything, from gameplay to art and soundtrack, amazing and well polished!
-Tim
Loved the voice over sound effects. Turning radius was a nice game mechanic. Great work! :)
Ooh, I woulda been pissed if I hadn't gotten that last surprise artifact! Looks and sounds great, good job all!
This game has incredible aesthetic. I wish there were more content so I could enjoy it for longer. I beat it in 1 attempt / 89 seconds. One observation I have is that I found myself looking at the minimap more than the main screen, and I feel like that distracted me from looking at the rest of the assets y'all made. The basic gameplay feels really good - I like how the vehicle controls. Good work!
ps i played in firefox
Great entry. I love the art style and soundtrack!
Love this game, audio made me feel so immersed in the world. E N E R G Y.
Good job, really loved the artstyle and the robots voice acting :)
This game is awesome! I love the art and the voice lines are very cute.
This is great! Love the art and sound design, the game has a great atmosphere. The font can be kind of hard to read at times but its a pretty minor problem. Overall great game!
Loved the rovers voice! Makes picking up items of science and bumping into walls alot more interesting ha. The graphics also fantastic. Awesome concept for the theme.
Really nice take on the theme ! Great job !
The sound of the rover when you move seems a bit loud but maybe it's just me, nonetheless the art and the mood where pretty good and well done ! Good game !
Solid gameplay, beautiful art, unique concept. Only complaint is the sfx being too crunchy
Wow great game! Really good graphics. Sadly I couldn't get the rover back to the start.
Wow this was awesome. Love the artwork/ui screen interface and the robot voice sound design really give the rover a lot of personality. Impressive work!
Great little game, very polished. I tried different paths and finished it twice. It was fun to make plans on which one to pick and which ones to "save" for later in order to reach the last piece. Good job :)
Nice game! I like the sound design and the art looks really nice as well!
Adorable! One of the best entry I saw. The whole game with the art, sounds and gameplay is immersive and catchy, good job guys! :v:
Realy nice game, solid entry. Artstyle and sound design are brilliant. Rovar has a realy enjoyable control. One of the best games on this jam.
Great stuff! Really loved the robot voice and the random objects like the :cat: to be found on the martian surface. Great polish. The tracks left by the previous rover and the mini-map helped give it just the right balance.
cute fun game, felt pretty bad for the rover but I guess it did it's job haha.
Excuse me while I do donuts on mars and waste all my energy. This was a lot of fun and a ton of really great polish.
The game is amazing! I love the attention to detail in the audio and the old tracks of the rovers before, awesome :D
Very cool concept, loving the rover's voice.
This is an amazing game with great audio and graphics! Also I don't know if this was intentional but it reminded me a lot of this xkcd comic: https://xkcd.com/695/
Cute game with excellent visuals & sound design. The gameplay is quite shallow but everything works very well.
Nice aesthetic! Felt pretty basic and at times the driving felt very clunky and unfair but overall a great mood!
I enjoyed this.
It was short and simple and it did everything it needed to effectively and efficiently.
Well done. sexyiest pixel eva. And So simple and exiting gameplay. I'm shocked!
I like the attention to detail with things like the rover leaving tracks
Amazing game! The sound design is (literally) out of this world (on mars) and everything just runs so smoothly.
Thanks for submitting your game for me to play on my stream!

Holy votes batman. Great detail, great feel, great mood, great sounds, great music. A bit frustrating how long it took me to figure out what path to take to be able to complete the mission. I was even ready to restart at the 'end' until i realized what was going on. It made sense. Cool stuff!
One of my favorite so far :) The mood is amazing, the rover is so cute. And most of all, i can see a real game here, with more time, some upgrades to explore even futher, finding lore elements etc, it would be an amazing game to play on mobile ! I would love to see that :)
Very atmospheric, I know it sounds specific but it reminds me of the early 2000s Mindstorms Lego games that had for a very desolate mood in space (might have something to do with the old-school UI, I love it :D). Great entry in general with snappy gameplay and great art/sound direction!
Nice! You almost had the same idea than @oneiros @anstabo but in 2d! The sound FX are super cute. There are nice little things neat in your game: i really liked that we can see the path of our previous attempts, it helps finding a good way to finish the game.
Some collision are quite weird, but I did'nt encounter anything that could block this cute little rover. I love everything in the graphics, it's perfect.
I would love a bigger version with this game, with a big map and some cool puzzles.
super cool game!

Booyah, sub 30 baby!
Really sweet entry! I loooove the voice clips that play during the game, like the startup "Hello!", the elated "science!" when you pick up an artifact, or the tiny "ouch!" when you hit a wall.
I really like the interface design. Gameplay is very simple, but suuuuper engaging! It's like, the unit movement part of a RTS with poor pathfinding, but distilled into a game! And it's *fun*! No frustration on my part here, every mistake made by the rover feels like a feature. The pixel art is amazing, the music is really good, everything is top notch. That short intro rover animation loop is sooooo good!!! And I love how you get to learn to optimize your energy usage and clicks and find the right balance between greed and speed.
The tracks from your last run are a nice touch, although they seem to remain the tracks from your first run instead of being like your "best time ghost" or something, but that would be my main complaint about the whole thing. This is so well scoped, it feels like you were really in control of your project. Congratulations to the whole team on making such a tight experience! And thank you for your work!
Wow, really well done! The incorporation of the the theme with this puzzle type game felt awesome. Congrats
Great game! Amazing pixel art and awesome music. Also, cool puzzle aspect of the game. I wish there was even more, but I understand it takes time :) As someone who is extremely interested in science, space and physics the premise of the game is just for me!
Well done all around! I'd love to see a more "traveling salesman" type approach to additional levels, where it isn't clear what order you should go in from the start.
Very nice! Love the way the Rovar moves, adds a nice dynamic (:
A very solid entry! I tried a few times, the tracks from previous attempts are a very nice touch. The turning circle makes planning your route a bit more challenging, it's not just click-and-it-will-go-there. Well done!
I love the voice of the mars rover - he's so cute! Really enjoyed trying to figure the perfect route out and the adapting music. All in all great work!
[Glitchy][Low bit rate] Hello! What a gem! The sound and dialogue effects are flawless. Movement leaves a 'little' something to be desired since it's not always clear when the rover will need to do a big loop or when it will do the rotate-jive, but all-in-all it feels accurate at least. And if I'm being honest, the few times I bumped into terrain and the rover gave me robotic 'ow' I laughed out loud AND felt bad for the little bot. My bad little buddy! What a tight game - great work!
Loved the sound design on this, the bit-crushed voice of Rovar especially! Also liked that the difficulty of the game was manageable and the movements feeling very natural.
I liked the sound effects, but it was hard getting all the artifacts, and the movement is kind of weird. the battery also runs out too fast, but it was fun nonetheless. great art as well, I really liked it.
Nice short game. It took me 4 attempts to finish in 51 seconds, I think the result can be improved if I spend another 30 minutes playing the game
oH WOW... I think i have my (currently) personal winner here. This is so good from A-Z. I love the idea, the pixel art, the game mood... everything. Very well done!

Wanted to share my share my PR time: 47.02 seconds :D
This game is adorable! The voice lines and the little "ouch" from the WALL-E robot is impossibly cute, and the ending had me feeling like "you did it little buddy "
What stood out the most about this game's design and execution was the perfect pacing. Each run teaches you something new and makes you create a new plan until, finally, you win. Great entry!
This game has character and does a good job of keeping the game-play simple yet fun. The sounds also add a lot to the experience as well. Nicely done.
Amazing!!! I'm always interested to see what a big team can do in a game jam, and I guess this is my answer! Very, very fun, spent like 10 minutes on it without getting bored! I reaaally like the art, it doesn't get much better than this in Ludum Dare! Great job, 4.5/5 stars!
Loved the overall atmosphere along with the audio :) Getting that Curiousity Rover being left on Mars vibe XD Screenshot 2022-04-12 at 10.20.37 AM.png
SCIENCE! This is a very good entry, the gameplay is extremely simple without any twists and yet something about it makes it work, and that's probably the presentation. The auto steering works beautifully and the audio actually adapts to the type of movement... my only gripe is that the rover sounds went crazy at some point and played out of sync (playing on Firefox). Very nice use of Construct, too. Congrats!
Hello! I played your submission on my [HaaYaargh](https://www.twitch.tv/haayaargh) stream the other day.
Beautiful Pixel Art entry. The rover Rovar looks like it has its own personality, a bit of Wall-E vibe, definitely wouldnât allow myself to let him run out of batter on Mars. The whole game looks visually pleasing, maybe the scanner and text could have been more clear, but overall one of the strongest points of your game. It was fun to discover those scientific artifacts on Mars like a scooter, Maneki-Neko, or a Maoi statue.
It was cool to read from the Devs on the streamâs chat that I âdiscoveredâ a new path. Later on, I tried a couple of different pathing, some of them worked, some of them didnât. The game remembers your previous tracks, so it definitely puts it in more puzzle genre rather than an arcade one. Thatâs why I think the counting time at the end was a bit unnecessary, but you know, it doesnât matter that much to me.
I think the game has a great potential to be expanded into a full-fledged project. If thatâs what you want to do, then fingers crossed :fingers_crossed: :alien: :robot:
Really great game that perfectly encapsulates the theme. The visuals and sounds work well together and the cohesion really emulates the feel of a rover's last mission. Love the little touches in the game's design; the map having the level of detail it has to allow for player discovery, the balance between energy and research gathering and especially the tire tracks left behind from previous attempt. Great job on the entry, one of my favourites so far!
ENERGY! SCIENCE!
I know you have tons of feedback and praise already, but I'll add on.
1) So much polish and juiciness from just a short jam. 2) Ending scene was fantastic, made it a really rewarding experience, but bleak (Part of the theme)
Fantastic in every way! This little game is a genius take on the theme and an example of great design in every aspect. Truly amazing. Congrats!
Really nice how it tracks your previous runs and gives the player more incentive to try again.
Besides the great style of the game and the moody music (plus voice acting), I found the tracks from previous runs very helpful and a super game mechanic. It took me some approaches to find the correct path and some items are placed just out of reach for certain other pathes. Level design is very well. Rocks do not get in the way as soon as you find out how to properly navigate but are a nice element to spice up the map, like the craters and ground textures. Overall well placed assets! Mini map is super simple, yet shows everything. Also the Rover animation is well done, with the square dust and the tracks. Love it. Adding a final item to catch kept me running another 4 tries. All in all I played about 10 to 12 runs. And it took me 5 minutes. Well invested time and your game shows, that it does not need hundrets of procGen levels to make an entertaining game. Also: Nice itch page and the speedrun character adds another level of replayability.
I didn't notice the science bar until after the game in a screenshot ^^. When the "cap" of the science bar dropped to reveal the last item, I saw it flying but didn't knew where it came from and wondered what it was ^^. For me, the mini map was all I needed to track the science items and see that there was a new one.
Great Job!
awesome game with great graphics, couldn't complete the game though
I was actually expecting more levels. The game is nice but a bit too short imho. Good job anyway!
A really pretty little rover. Its cute unhappy look made me try the game till the full mission progress. As everybody above me said the art and sound are well done. Unfortunatelly I didn't find any tactics in routing task. The way I've chosen the first was nearly the right one. And most of failed tries occured mostly due to my driving local mistakes. I guess if there were any more specific rules for routing this could be a much more fun to play.
Finished in 57.93. Nice music, visuals, controls. Short tho, but it's a nice way to hide low amount of content, unlike difficulty. Nice submission or prototype of game in future.
An interesting pixel game that relies on limited energy resources. Odd thing was that there was another game that had the same idea you had but in 3d and complex mechanics. Your is simple and easy to get into.
Amazing visuals, amazing gameplay (if something annoying), creative theme, all around an amazing game.
Love the idea and the art style?
Yoooooooo i <3 Rovar :3
The main thing I was struggling with at first was I kept clicking really fast until I realized it was using up my fuel really quick
I left some other feedbacks on my stream too (ignore the part where Im trying to fix my audio so my viewers can actually hear Rovar's cute lil beeps)! https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1458309860?t=2h31m47s
The game had nice polish and charm. The main critique I'd have is I felt it was pretty limited in terms of there was just one route to take, and going other routes resulted in having to start again. So felt a bit trial and error.
I absolutely dig the "science" and "energy" barks on pickups. A great choice of scope, great job, congrats and make sure to keep making games. Woof to the doggos.
Really enjoyed this one, but felt so sorry for poor little Rovar in the end... I featured the game in part seven of my let's play series: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kgPpMxxPfRs
What an adorable game. It's gorgeous to look at and listen to (especially love the little "ouch")! The mechanics are interesting and the theme is represented very strongly. I would definitely play more of this -- wonderful work!
cool and funny! great art, sounds, ui, mechanics, maybe a little more power lol, awesome job!
Finally got around to playing the game! Aesthetically perfect, mood is just perfect! The gameplay was enjoyable, albeit at some point I was just randomly trying out routes rather than trying to "puzzle" my way to beating things, not sure if that's the gameplay you intended! The map was a nice touch, I still managed to get lost all the time, though :D Thank you for the submission and good luck tonight!
super cool game!
