LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Monkey Quest by paulloz 2021-04-27T23:41:12Z

Oh man!! What a polished title! This is how retro games should be made. Starts off a little slow, but by the last stage I found myself madly smashing through rocks with a dozen lizardmen tailing me. Super super impressed by the visuals and color palette. The music slaps, the game is just the right length, such a nice little package.

A couple things: the lizardmen sound effect sounds kind of out of place, at first I wasn't sure where it was coming from. From the beginning I got super strong Link to the Past vibes, all the way down to the mining animation. Because of this I assumed I could attack enemies, and thought it was buggy that I couldn't. But once I understood that I really enjoyed the game loop. Can't wait to see where you go with this game in the future! A+

Monkey Quest by paulloz 2021-05-02T05:42:03Z

Loved This!! - awesome animation, artwork and soundtrack - aesthetic was super cute - fun item system very zelda esque - challenging to escape the lizards - gameplay felt polished and begging for a more in depth / expanded rendition

Brinebeard's Folly by juxipolo 2021-05-01T19:34:08Z

Very cool take on minesweeper! I'm a longtime minesweeper fan so this gets a good rating from me.

- Liked the sound design, especially the SFX for clearing a bunch of tiles. Considering the repetitive gameplay could have used some music, especially something to fill the silence of the opening cutscene

- It feels like the difficulty is a bit high at first. I get that you need to rack up money to make it easier in the long run but I think that the upgrades are priced a bit high for the length of a game jam game

- I appreciate the addition of the metagame features to the classic minesweeper gameplay loop.

Great work!

Nuclear blaze by deepnight 2021-05-02T01:46:22Z

- Really cool graphics - Fun story - Love the mechanics. The water is very satisfying - quite challenging ! Awesome job on this one especially for one person holy crap

Inner Demons by Zettelkasten 2021-04-27T22:50:09Z

Cool game! The visuals are what stand out the most to me. I like the premise, very meta. The jump feels a little extreme, and the combat is a bit rigid and tedious. I think it needs more variety and less length if the player is meant to go through 48 (!) entire stages. Maybe one room per LD jam would make it feel a little less lengthy. Great work!

Deepest Sword by Strega 2021-04-27T18:28:53Z

Really neat game! One of the most polished ones I've seen in this jam. The only thing holding it back is the first section of the last level. It just felt like a frustrating difficulty spike compared to the previous sections. The heavy sword works really well thematically and adds to the charm of the game, but feels clunky in these challenging later sections. In any case, this is such an incredible game to have made in 72 hours, congratulations!!

Upset Crab by 43sam 2021-05-03T21:46:01Z

Cool game! I like the interesting dynamic of the slow attack and roll, almost reminds me of a Dark Souls type game. The game felt a bit lacking in variety, only having to face the same simple two enemy types over and over again. A shorter runtime or faster movement speed might have helped with that. I appreciate you taking the time to create a boss for the end, that was really cool.

Fetal Fury by Squidly 2021-05-04T06:10:52Z

really surprised to see such familiar faces work on this game, and what can I say, those faces do not disappoint. The visuals and audio rock (I especially love the various death exclamations), and the game feels pretty dang good to control. Its a fetus fighting good time!

AeroCat by W0oly 2021-05-06T23:35:54Z

Definitely one of the prettiest games of the jam! All the little props were so cute, and the music fits everything really well. My only critic is that the controls do feel very awkward at first, but after a bit of time they weren't too much of a problem anymore. Very solid entry. Keep catting!

Deep Asleep by Sestren 2021-05-02T03:21:08Z

Really liked the art style, but the backgrounds were a bit noisy. I think if you made the attack counter go from 100 to 0 rather than bouncing back it would make going for 100 points more risky. I loved the dialog!

This Goes Deeper... by The Enigma 2021-05-02T01:02:52Z

This game kind of reminds me of the episode of always sunny with Pepe Silva. Fun concept, a little confusing to play but I think that people that enjoy this kind of non linear puzzle solving (like the game Myst) would really love this! Some of the ui could use work and maybe have the character move faster or just make it point and click. Pretty funny jokes/references/quirkiness in the files!

The Greatest Thing by PBG 2021-04-28T19:16:06Z

What an experience! This game really is more than meets the eye. From the start I appreciated the simple yet elegant graphics and crisp platforming. The first time I played, as I was starting to leave with the orb, it flew off into the other room as I was transitioning rooms and I didn't understand what happened. I tried to leave but was stuck on the cosmic leash thing. I died in the water and thought that the game just ended with the player being cursed and trapped in the ruin.

I actually thought this was kind of neat to end the game this way but I replayed it and found out that there was more content. After getting the orb I found the gameplay to be a bit of a slog. I get that that's the point, and you really managed to give a lot of character to the orb through mechanics and effects. But it just didn't feel fun or fair compared to what comes before in the game. I died in the room where the water rises and I would have liked to have seen the ending. (although maybe it's cool that dying in the temple is an "ending" by itself.) I think it would have felt better if the orbs zapped off at a certain interval instead of at random. All in all though I like how you took some bold creative directions, and overall it definitely paid off.

Doomino's Pizza by Ryfi 2021-04-27T15:03:54Z

Such a charming game! The hilarious writing really uplifts the whole experience. I appreciate the polish and huge variety in game mechanics and visuals, that's a hard thing to pull off in a weekend! Excellent work.

Beneath by Rewzu 2021-05-01T19:39:44Z

Very neat game! I had a lot of fun with it.

- I love the animation and gamefeel of the cube you play as. I almost wish it had some kind of backstory, playing as an exploding jumping fire cube is such a fun concept.

- Enemy designs are nice as well and I appreciate the block style inspiration from Minecraft but used in a different context.

- Music is alright but I wish the explosion SFX was a little more prominent and satisfying, right now it's a bit muffled.

- Like people have said, would love to see a progression system.

Great work!

Below the Ocean by Ismael Rodriguez 2021-05-01T01:23:51Z

I really appreciate that you didn't go the more typical route of a diving game and make oxygen a depleting resource that you have to manage, but rather you made it a spatial limitation. It not only makes for a fun and challenging game mechanic, but it also doubles as a story-telling and mood setting element. On top of all that the audio and visuals are a perfect cherry on top. Freaking sweet!

Adventurer of the deep by ROBOWARRIOR1982 2021-04-27T22:12:37Z

Really loved the music on this one! Especially in the shopping area. I could not get my gun to shoot enemies either so I was stuck around the beginning area! I think that the concept is really fun though, and I love the characters and atmosphere. Maybe filling up your air tank quicker at the surface would be a good improvement and speed upgrades besides the broken gun.

Bunny Bunny Dig Dig by ZakAmana 2021-05-02T01:21:55Z

Awesome art work !!! Really fun mechanics and fun progression. I like the rpg elements and I think this could be a great mobile game. The health felt maybe a bit unbalanced and my finger hurts from all the 's' pressing, but otherwise really loved it !

dog descends dungeon, dies? by Craggar 2021-04-27T22:23:02Z

Love the zelda look with the Isaac mechanics. I think that the game could benefit from sound. I love that the dog shoots tennis balls and the sprite / artwork was great! It is hard not being able to shoot diagonally and I find that enemies take a lot of hits so I just cheese them around corners most of the time.

Going Down in Fishstory by Jonas Tyroller 2021-05-04T21:01:52Z

This game is superb! I really loved everything about it, and I honestly don't have too much feedback. Really impressive amount of work in just 72 hours. Fish!

Space Buddies by Fractal 2021-05-01T20:14:47Z

Nothing more terrifying than floating away into the vacuum of space. Thank you for giving us a laser blasting robot to protect ourselves with. Kind of... epic!

Deep Sea by Dannyk1994 2021-05-04T06:17:05Z

A nice little diving adventure! Would have liked to have the camera keep the player in the center of the screen, cause I found myself bonking my head too often on stuff I couldn't anticipate. OUCH!

We need gold! by Ninsky 2021-05-01T19:43:30Z

Neat game concept! Could use some polish but I think you could do a lot with this.

River, Carry Me Away by Noire 2021-04-27T22:53:59Z

Wow this was such an incredible story to experience. The artwork and music was transcendental, and the viking/nordic theme was lots of fun for me (its got all the edgy vibes of vinland saga). I would say having a bit more player interactivity or making more objects in the river/environment to collect would make it more interactive for the player, but I am really impressed an definitely keeping your studio on my radar!

Gaze into the Deeper by TureGrappa 2021-04-27T22:29:19Z

Pretty fun getting power ups and shooting faster. The game does not scale in difficulty as you get stronger so I find that it gets quite easy at the end, but the moving and shooting is very solid. I also really like the SFX and music.

Selkö by Doot 2021-04-29T01:34:02Z

OOO mama the atmosphere is absolutely captivating! You guys nailed the visuals and the music, and the gameplay is simple and elegant. That ending really came out of left field though, and I'm sure it'll have me pondering existence for the next week or so. Great work!

Kira's Flower Delivery by peterfiftyfour 2021-05-03T21:52:34Z

Wow!! Cannot believe this gem of a game slipped under my radar for this long.

- Love the music and how it interacts with the gameplay and voice lines of the townspeople. The "I hate you!" happening so often felt a bit harsh in contrast with the overall upbeat feel of the music and gameplay.

- Excellent visuals, extremely polished gameplay and I love the unique perspective from which the game is played.

- Such a unique take on a rhythm game! Would be cool to see a score total at the end or have some effect from successfully/unsuccessfully throwing flowers at people.

- Not sure what it has to do with the jam theme but either way I loved it!

Into the Deep Web by Jon Topielski 2021-04-30T03:06:37Z

Not to repeat what everyone else has said, but the style and aesthetic take this game a step above the rest. Not to discount the combat system though, which is a really interesting take on the other turn-based battle games that this seems to take inspiration from. Would have loved to have some audio too, but for a compo game this is stellar!

Mycelisation by bereg 2021-05-10T00:48:05Z

That was really fun! I like the idea of building your mushroom empire. I think it could make a great mobile game with a bigger map and more potential to grow. Awesome stuff right here.

Aquanomicon by Briibot 2021-04-27T06:59:16Z

Love the atmosphere and humor here! It was a bold move to make the player try to figure out how to not drown right from the start and i loved that. After that I wasn't able to put any of the ingredients into potions for some reason, which is a shame but I love the music!

Afraid to Turn by rhoff95 2021-04-27T22:41:14Z

Really cool atmosphere on this one! The vibe was tense and creepy and the artwork was all really great. I though the game was quite easy until I realized I needed to run all the way back and keep a supply of rocks on hand. The wolf really slows you down if you are not careful so I think you nailed it on all those fronts.

OVERDRILLED by everedx 2021-04-29T01:41:32Z

Really impressed by the level of detail and animation on the mech, as well as the visual polish in general. The gameplay was just the right amount of stress-inducing once I got the hang of it, but I was definitely a little confused about what to do at first. I think this has been said before, but larger meters would be a huge help, and maybe a little tutorial if you guys ever take this further. This is a dang great game!

Khazads by vsi- 2021-05-02T18:15:25Z

What a grand adventure! This entry was solid all around the board, but the sound design put it a cut above the rest. Loved the goblin sounds most of all. Huzzah!

Deep Way To Basement by Usenrame 2021-05-02T15:33:11Z

This is a such a wonderfully goofy physics game. I still don't always understand why I would get game overs every once and awhile, but watching a wizard tumble down some stairs made up for it. 10/10 would get pushed down the stairs by my dog again!

Crust by exopunk 2021-04-27T08:12:18Z

When I try to open it on MacOS Catalina 10.15.7 I get the error *“LD48 3” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Trash.* Which is unfortunate because your game looks so cool! Hope to try it soon, especially because my friends and I also made a grappling hook platformer!

ROOTS by TheGreenWorm 2021-05-02T23:55:01Z

You definitely got me hooked with this game. Love the aesthetic and the slow, peaceful progress deeper into the ground. I would sometimes find myself in situations that didn't seem like they could be surmounted at all, but after a few upgrades they were less frequent. Stellar submission, keep rooting brah!

I'm So Deep by liammasters 2021-05-02T01:29:21Z

Wow that really made me use my brain ! - Fun concept - really innovative - I am guessing you used some natural language processing which is really cool - humor was some of the best ive seen in the whole jam

Great job!

Asterisk by Crychair 2021-04-27T07:31:54Z

Such an incredible game! I really love the polish with the visuals and the stellar voice acting. Great job!

Subterplane by Bigbadbison 2021-04-27T15:18:23Z

Really challenging game. I like the concept and ended up crashing quite a few RC planes trying to master it! Good think we have a bulk supply ;) i never quite felt like i got the hang of it, partially because I experienced some FPS stuttering when playing in a web browser. At the very least it was cool seeing my previous attempts all over the cave floor! The new cave option was also a nice feature. Excellent game!

Dive & Dig by andrewkennedy 2021-05-03T01:57:55Z

This is a fun concept and it is really well written, but I kind of wish that the dialogue didn't interrupt the action and came up a little faster. Maybe having it appear at the top while you are still able to play would be a nice solution. Its a clever idea, and I would like to see how far you can take it. Keep digging!

Journey to Atlantis by Kotzi 2021-05-01T20:08:24Z

This was really fun overall! The gameplay was easy to understand and it was overall very intuitive. I was a little confused about how to win, or if the game could actually be won, when I got kicked out of Atlantis the first time. While I really like the idea of gaining enough gold to buy the mermaid tail, not knowing what it was beforehand made me feel a little lost. Otherwise, this was freaking sweet!

Rainbow Fall by Vitor Barbosa 2021-04-27T15:12:08Z

Agreed with theseusinabottle that this game seems like it is just made for the app store. I loved the SFX and music, along with the visuals they made for a really satisfying gamefeel. As i fell down further and further I found myself wishing for more variety in block formations and spacing between blocks. The side arrow block didn't really visually communicate to me that it would make the player bounce up but i learned that as soon as i encountered one. Congratulations on such a fun game!

Graphite Journey by pnkvrt 2021-04-27T08:21:53Z

So good! Such a cute game. I loved the art style and interesting character designs. The second time around collecting the fruits got to be a little repetitive. Idk what Craplex is talking about but I loved the music! Warmed my heart. The character walked a little bit too fast, I think it would have been better maybe if the camera was more zoomed out so I could get a better sense of the space. Great work!

Free Fall by magicstunts123 2021-04-27T07:55:38Z

Can't say i've ever played a game like this one! It has a whole lot of charm, and I appreciate the riskiness of deciding to combine a mass effect-style dialogue system with.. skydiving? It doesn't make a lot of sense but also makes a lot of sense. Unfortunately the ending didn't seem to activate for me. Still enjoyed it quite a lot and got me to chuckle!

Unto the Eight by Threeli 2021-05-02T20:47:46Z

Such a unique gameplay experience! Well done

- The highlights for me are the world that you've built and the music. It is such a lush, vibrant place that is well fleshed out by the visuals and music. Really reminds me of Caves of Qud.

- The characters are all lovingly crafted and well written and kept me wanting to explore more.

- I didn't really understand the overall gameplay and my character's motivation, and I think you could flesh this out in the future version.

- Moving around in these large spaces made me wish that the movement was more continuous like in Undertale or something so that I didn't have to spam the arrow keys.

Depth Balance by kremlebot 2021-05-04T06:21:54Z

oh god... the screams of the fallen will haunt me for the rest of my days... Great work!!

Watch Out Below by Haematite 2021-04-27T08:07:16Z

Nice game! I wish it was bigger on my screen as it is hard to see. I like the sound effects, and the game controls pretty smoothly. Maybe it is because I am not a mega pro gamer but I found it very fast and difficult. good work!

Sticky Diagnosis by made3 2021-04-27T07:39:25Z

Omg this game is foul in the best way!! How deep does this mouth go?? :0 hahah i love the concept, really unique take on the theme. Graphics are top notch, I love the soundtrack, gameplay is simple but fun. Sometimes I felt like I would get cornered by the enemies with no way to recover. Nevertheless excellent work!

Rocket digger by Kaito 2021-04-27T07:49:50Z

I like it! I was a little confused at first but I really enjoyed going rocketing through the cave. The upgrade system is nice, although after a while I got tired of restarting from the launchpad. Maybe being able to create checkpoints would be nice? Either way, great work and great game!

Fish for Meaning by Steve Johnstone 2021-04-27T17:40:24Z

Neat game! I appreciated the sleek, simple design and mechanics. The submarine did feel a little clunky to control, I wish you didn't have to slow down to be able to turn it. I think it would be cool if you could turn freely when you have momentum like in the original Lunar Lander. The messages in bottles were a nice touch. Great work!

Lil'Drill - The Chiseller of Balls by AndereSpackosProductions 2021-04-27T06:53:19Z

Wow!! Really unique gameplay. The interesting mechanics and the incredible soundtrack are what stood out to me the most.

Abisal by itssoisi 2021-04-27T22:42:27Z

This game is so cool!! One of my favorites in the jam. The two different movement options are very unique but I ended up only using the long dash. The third level "boss battle" was such a nice surprise! I felt like the difficulty was well balanced, but often I would hear the getting hit SFX and not take damage. The music in combination with the spooky deep sea atmosphere is truly stellar. A++ game, congratulations!

Hypnagogia by kel 2021-04-27T06:46:07Z

I really liked the use of unique mechanics like wall jumping and dashing bringing you closer to losing the game. I wish there was some kind of benefit to getting coins or getting to the next level. Great game!

Mole Hole by Swoof 2021-04-30T17:28:24Z

really fun little game! I liked how the game introduces new mechanics to mix things up as you fall through the floors. Excellent work!

Moth extraction by rhys_vdw 2021-04-28T03:37:30Z

Got dang the music is killer! Excellent game overall, but that music... OOOWEE!

Sloopy the Microkiller by SandCastlesStudio 2021-04-29T01:51:30Z

Without a doubt this is the best game name in the entire jam, and it does not disappoint! Truly loved the polished platforming, and getting to take out those horrible, horrible people was the cherry on top. Also very impressed that you guys made a procedural game in just one weekend. Excellent!

nine to five by thatnoobles 2021-04-27T22:32:09Z

I love the look of this game! Unfortunately it doesn't work when I try to use the mac build :/ hope to play it soon!

LD49 — Unstable

TetraTopple by Criobite 2021-10-08T04:41:20Z

I was playing this with my friend, and telling him "oh you can exploit the game this way and that way" but then read the description and understood what this game is about. With a lot of fast paced high score-based games in every game jam, it is really refreshing to see a chill zen game like this.

And in that respect I feel like you accomplished everything you set out to do. Love the music, the colors and game design choices that just make for a relaxing experience. Building the blocks up and watching them fall down without any consequences feels very meditative. Could definitely see myself coming back to play this just to chill and zone out. Thank you for making this :)

Captain Peggles by Sheepolution 2021-10-08T21:06:07Z

Yarr this game is amazing! Clearly so much effort and heart went into every little detail of this game, and it really pays off! Each interaction and animation has so much character and charm, and the actual gameplay, while tense at times, is well balanced and easy to understand. Loved the changing weather and the comic book opening and ending cutscenes too, they were little cherries on top. Sail onward!

little rats' big top by cakeknuckles 2021-10-06T04:59:15Z

Loved this game! I think you all stayed true to the theme in a very satisfying way. The art is really impressive, and all the characters are super cute. The squeaking puts on some kinda parental instincts for the little mouse carnies. I thought the music was a great accompanyment, which helped achieve a fantastic atmosphere along with the SFX and UI. I beat it after 6-7 tries and I feel accomplished finishing it to completion! Screenshot 2021-10-06 005528.png

Clay Boy by davision 2021-10-05T23:41:11Z

Impressive graphics! Controls were wonky and frustrating almost throughout, but I honestly can't be mad about it because it works so well for the game. Keep stretching!

PTSD Fishing by KuKuRammus 2021-10-05T04:22:10Z

Genuinely felt the PTSD that this cat was feeling. The mood was absolutely killer, both in the calm fishing sections and the frantic reeling mode. Also you guys used a very clever mechanic for reeling in the fish. No need to go fishing for compliments after a submission this good!

You won't believe your result from this personality test! by allthebees 2021-10-05T21:50:08Z

GENUINELY DID NOT BELIEVE MY RESULTS FROM THIS PERSONALITY TEST!

Shaky Ground by ryusui 2021-10-08T21:06:18Z

I didn't quite understand the time stop mechanic, it stopped the level rising but I couldn't stop it so it felt more like a "Press to die" button since it's only useful if you are close to the exit, and if I'm close to the exit I've basically already won anyway. Would have preferred if you could use it during the level. Platforming is solid, but I found myself jumping too high into stage hazards because of the high jump. Solid work!

Ogre Wide by Tron 2021-10-04T23:35:27Z

Really love the art style, very unique!

Pistolman by lekaleksay 2021-10-05T23:23:13Z

I found this to be a very unique experience! The controls and camera definitely felt unstable but overall were confusing and made my head hurt. I also was unable to figure out what to do. The look and atmosphere are really great! I appreciate the bold direction.

Teeter Hero by Strega 2021-10-07T18:19:41Z

Loved this game! I had thought of making an unstable platform based game but this is a clever spin on the theme that I would have never thought of. The music is catchy, the core mechanic is fun and I love how the beginning cutscene is nicely tied together to the end boss. It's really fun how the dash and punch mechanics have a double utility for both attacking and helping the bus rebalance itself. I was a bit confused at first how to dash/punch upwards since I thought it was mouse-related based on the controls. Had a lot of fun playing this, amazing work yet again!

BLAME IT ON THE RAIN by bellatrion 2021-10-07T05:55:15Z

Fun game! My favorite part was the effort put into the story and the music. The effort it must have taken to make all the art assets is impressive as well. Great work!

Unstabled Horse Game by 2kah 2021-10-05T23:41:53Z

Very clever interpretation of the theme! I couldn't get the tail to do much, so unfortunately Callum will have to live with the flies another day.

Apocalypse horse by p-r 2021-10-07T05:50:23Z

At first I was pretty confused at what was going on, but once I realize I could drag to select multiple horses I felt like I had the power of a God. Just mowing down stables with my army of horses felt really good. I ended up winning with just 2 survivors in the end, which felt like 300. Not to brag but I won on the first try. Going for trees did help a lot. Really enjoyed the game, good work.

Sky Burns Red by nardandas 2021-10-08T21:23:22Z

Easily one of the most unique gameplay mechanics I've seen this jam, and one of the best takes on the theme! At first playing this really broke my brain trying to process everything that was happening, it really made my brain unstable  but it was intense and a lot of fun!

The visuals are very clean, and if you made the music for this I am very impressed. The level editor is a clean cherry on top. Only thing is it kind of hurt my eyes to play, I'm not sure what you would change for that but that was just my experience. Really cool game, excited to see what you come up with next jam!

The Devil's Apothecary by dxk2294 2021-10-05T16:53:38Z

Really great visuals and sound design. I like the controls generally but the farming mechanic could be simplified (or at least indicate the flowers in game). also I could not get past the part where you plant the crops, but I encourage you to complete this concept because quite a few mechanics and groundwork are laid out and asking to be made into a full game. Nice work!

COME ALIVE! by Angela He 2021-10-14T04:08:40Z

The art here is easily the most impressive in the jam. The quantity of backgrounds and character art is one thing, but the quality of each made me completely forget I was even playing a game jam game at all. The writing and mood were also really polished and well done, and I very much appreciate the ability to "look around" and subtle camera movements as it made the game feel a lot more alive than a typical visual novel. Genuinely awesome work!

Unstable escape by Tory 2021-10-05T20:36:55Z

Really liked the movement mechanics in this, it felt very smooth. I liked the puzzle aspect using resources to open up new pathways although it was difficult to determine direction on some levels. Gj!

Kalamari Damacy by rHornbek 2021-10-07T05:02:10Z

Kinda got a little scared when I saw those sea monsters! Really liked the creature art, and the game was overall pretty solid. Could have been interesting to see the unstable mechanic also take place while you swerved back and forth too, but that could definitely become frustrating without careful balance. Keep boating!

Don't Cry at Work!! by chelC 2021-10-05T04:53:23Z

Definitely one of my favorite looking games so far! Love how you combine a handful of simple mechanics to make a game that becomes quite challenging as you progress. I hope you have a nice day at work.

Penguin Panic by munkkeli 2021-10-07T20:52:59Z

What an absolute thrill of a game! I don't think I was on the edge of my seat playing any game this jam as much as this one. Every second I felt like the iceberg was going to tip one way or the other, at one point I got down to 0.2 fish just as I was about to hit 100 and then my fish count bounced back up. I applaud the very simple and easy to pick up mechanics that still make for a high skill ceiling. The penguin noises were nice too. It would be nice if the fish and penguin bars were some sort of meter so that it would be easier to see if you're about to run out, but since the numbers are uncapped that probably wouldn't work. Incredible work and I can't wait to see what you make next!

EDIT: Can't believe one person made this!

Psycho Beaver by Mordechai 2021-10-05T16:57:00Z

Great graphics and I like the humor of the game. The shaking of the screen when you shoot is a bit hard to look at without getting nauseous.

Crumbling Mind by NoeTheLazyDev 2021-10-08T18:22:33Z

Great idea with some of my favorite graphics in this jam to back it up! Would be really cool to see the anxiety and depression mechanics taken in even more interesting directions if you ever decided to expand on it. Great work!

Unfabled by Kwiper 2021-10-05T04:47:35Z

Really liked the variety of spells for each elemental combination. Honestly thought for a bit you could only combine like elements, so I was quite pleasantly surprised when I found out otherwise. Magically well done!

THE COVID RACE by Aarre Entertainment 2021-10-08T17:51:12Z

I didn't realize until the terrain got bumpy that I was riding on actual COVID data, that is a really ingenious idea. Many things to unpack here, like how the player has more trouble getting over the large humps on the graph. I agree with the person above me that some additional gameplay mechanics could have spiced up what is otherwise a pretty minimal gameplay experience. Or it could be cool to lean into that minimalism and add more elements that emphasize the grim and unsettling atmosphere that this game has. Either way, great job!

Just a steelyard by gogu 2021-10-08T04:24:53Z

I really enjoyed the feel of this game. very simple and polished. The audio and nostalgic visuals really did it for me, I feel like I could play with this like a toy for hours. Great work, especially since its your first time with Godot!

You can do it, Astro Pup! by benskca 2021-10-05T20:18:28Z

The dog design is super cute and a great mascot for your game. I liked the space puzzle mechanic of collecting materials using inertia.

Steel Coffin by JLV 2021-10-05T23:02:50Z

Your writing is really great, and the world that you build through it is really interesting. Liked the graphics as well, but would have also enjoyed some simple sound effects to wrap the whole game up nicely. I'd really hate to pilot one of those mechs.

Electro-Twixt by RubixNoob13 2021-10-06T21:52:52Z

I really liked the goggle mechanic, it made the combat interesting. I think as a proof of concept this was a cool and unique entry. Simple controls, but a nice twist on top down shooters. Nice Work!

Lab Panic! by GibsS 2021-10-05T21:31:37Z

What a wonderful little puzzle game. I think that puzzle games really excel with a unique mechanic and you deliver on that front! reminds me of into the breach except its just you and some bombs. The game felt like a tight package too, with great polish and attention to detail. I could not finish and it appears the skip button does not work, but im sure a smarter person will figure it out!

Spirits Low by Brandon JS Lea 2021-10-05T03:53:06Z

Really like the art style and the overall mood, and I think it was clever to have the instability come out through the character's mental states. The font was occasionally hard to read, and sometimes the sound effects (specifically of the guns I think) were a little too loud. Overall solid entry!

Elemental by RyanJavanshir 2021-10-06T21:20:21Z

I was really enticed by the wizardry theme and spell system! I would have liked a little more room to explore the cool gameplay systems before getting overrun by enemies. When I did get a chance to use abilities I didn't really feel like I knew what I was doing but it looked really cool. I also like how the character's robes change color. Great work and hope to see more games by you in future jams!

Un-Ren-Table by WegPast 2021-10-07T21:11:36Z

Very fun simulation game! It would be nice to have some indication of the game's goal within the game, I had to look at the description to figure out that you have to make the tower as tall as possible and that you can scroll the game window (maybe im just dumb though :P) I loved the visuals, especially the blocks, although I couldn't tell how the block types were different.

It was a lot of fun building up the tower and watching the wizards break it down! although I didn't feel that I had much control over the experience, and after the tower fell down it was hard to build it back up since the pieces fell in weird ways. A way to move blocks might be nice. Overall I had a great time playing and I'm looking forward to seeing future games by you :)

ŮNSTÅBLĒ by Dominium11 2021-10-09T07:25:42Z

Great game! Almost found it more fun to smash the furniture to bits (really appreciated that each piece actually breaks apart), but once I got that outta my system I found it very satisfying getting a good ol' stack going. My main critique was that the font was sometimes very hard to read, especially the price above each object, which made it a little challenging to plan out which pieces to take (assuming that price correlates to size). Would love to see a version with some of these minor tweaks, because its got a lotta potential. Keep stacking!

Portal Rescue by Vimlark 2021-10-06T00:21:35Z

Great game, seriously put my hand eye coordination to the test! The meteor catching was a smart addition to give the player a little more control.

Under P'ARRRR by Fear Games 2021-10-05T23:33:58Z

Big fan of pirates so this was great! I do wish there was a way to restart a single level and not the entire game, but overall was fun!

DepressPnker! by SwimmableBee912 2021-10-14T02:43:37Z

Wow, first thing that grabbed me was the clean visuals, simple but very polished looking. It's a testament to how fun and juicy this game is that I couldn't stop playing even though I had no idea what was going on. The controls felt complicated to me (using two sets of directional inputs had my brain short-circuiting) and beyond that I didn't really get what I was supposed to do at first. Don't understand what the enemies are or why some are dinosaur aliens and some are just dots.

My first time through, shooting felt very juicy but grabbing into enemies felt like a weird pause and took me out of the gameplay. Then I realized you could grab and *then* smack em up and that was a ton of fun! Then I died.

I kind of wish the most fun part of the game (spamming punches) didn't make you game over since it's one of the most flavorful parts of the game! Punching enemies too much didn't read to me as them being unstable, but maybe that's because there is so much going on visually. Same goes for when you get to the bottom, it always comes before I expect it. Personally I would have simplified the controls a bit (locking on seemed a bit superfluous) and focused more on the good juicy action you have going on.

Anyway this comment is too long and nitpicky, this is a jam game and it's a wonder you made it in such a short time! A+ I had a great time playing it.

Unstable Cubes by Lenan 2021-10-05T04:33:20Z

This is a really nice game with a polished look and interesting puzzles. I only wish you could move more precisely since a lot of the jumping involves moving around edges, and I found myself falling off them a lot early on. Otherwise a good entry!

Feed Me Pizza! by yikescloud 2021-10-07T19:11:32Z

One of my favorite art styles from the jam so far! The game was pretty challenging, and I'm not sure if there is a win condition or if it is a survival mode, but I kept those pigs at bay for a good bit of time. Those eating sound effects were something else!

Trauma by AdamCYounis 2021-10-07T04:51:38Z

Awesome work! The story was really beautiful, and the mechanics were unique and interesting. Really enjoyed the sprite work too, especially on the character idle animation.

Last Mile by kurrik 2021-10-05T23:35:05Z

Great visuals and a nice, clear interpretation of the theme. Found the controls a little frustrating since the grid is a little off aligned, but I'm pretty sure that was very deliberate, so nice job! Keep shipping!

Dark Plunge by LBO 2021-10-07T06:12:09Z

I'm a sucker for DOOM-like games so I was instantly a fan of this one. I appreciated the freedom of movement, especially how you can break your fall on the enemies. Clubbing and shooting at enemies was super satisfying, especially because of the lifesteal mechanic.

I enjoyed discovering more about the game and its mechanics the more that I played. Especially the music! The bass especially reminded me of the DOOM soundtrack. I also appreciated how it changed and morphed even after I was playing for some time.

Eventually I felt like landing on enemies was a bit of an exploit for going really deep, then I realized that you can just fall in the middle and then double jump when you see a center piece, which is how I got over 3000m deep. I feel like the enemies' projectiles could be bigger, I don't know if I ever got hit by one. Other people say it's too hard though, so you can't please everyone ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯

I would definitely play a post-jam version with more enemies and some kind of difficulty ramp-up or even like level color variation as you go down. Loved the game, hope to see more of your work next jam!

Magic Knight Out!!! by Jahwffrey 2021-10-05T22:21:29Z

Nothing beats this moment of pure joy. Had fun learning how to dodge and parry properly and the 'actors' involved were all really funny.

Bomb Ninjas by Thiago Nascimento 2021-10-06T00:00:32Z

It is criminal that this game has no ratings yet! I want to boost this to the top of the Ludum Dare page so more people see it and create a bunch of lobbies. I played it 1 on 1 with my friend and we had a lot of fun blowing each other up.

The art style is super cute, the ninjas (and their little bums) are super polished and I can't believe you made this an online game. I do wish the environment had the same level of detail to it. Incredible job though overall. Can't wait to see more people playing this!!

Turnip Boi and the Forest Lost in Time by Codeman1010 2021-10-07T20:59:58Z

Really well put together game, I really appreciated the visual effects like the 2D/3D and the cool text at the beginning that you can read while playing the game (more games should do that!) I hit 100 crystals pretty quickly but didn't know what that meant, it would be nice to have some sort of indication. I also went through some levels (love the smooth level transitions) but I went through one portal and it just dropped me into the abyss. Would be nice to not have to start from the tutorial section. Overall I really enjoyed it, great work!

Mt. Deep Space by Kimberly 2021-10-07T18:34:17Z

Its a polished, modern take on Asteroids (which sorely needs visuals as good as these). Was also pleasantly surprised that you included not only an opening cutscene but also character customization! Definitely don't expect that in any game jam game. Keep mining!

Everything is Fine by Noire 2021-10-05T21:47:25Z

This game sets such a great mood. Loved how easy it was to pick up and play through this moving story. Awesome work!

Maritime for a Latte by VeniTheRich 2021-10-08T21:13:44Z

Neat game! I really appreciate games that have unique mechanics/aren't platformers. Feels like it'd fit right in as a mario party or warioware minigame. Short and to the point, very polished and fitting setting & music. I noticed (could be wrong) that as long as you fill in the shape you get points, even if a lot of the foam is outside the shape. But obviously it is a game jam and you don't have time to balance everything :P the tips were a nice touch too. Bravo!

Grabanakki by Saturnyoshi 2021-10-06T04:46:34Z

Really well polished game with an interesting core game mechanic. The panic as you approach the final waves is something quite special, and made the combat much more interesting than anticipated. The amount of content for one game jam entry is also really impressive. Great job!

Prodosia by Morhailen 2021-10-06T21:45:41Z

Really the best story i have seen of all the entries yet. Interesting concept along with high quality voice acting, which is uncommon to see in these game jams. The artwork was really cool, and I think the perspective was pretty interesting. I liked how my choices had dramatic effect, even if I was unsure of my decisions. Well done, and I will keep an eye out for your future projects!

Don't overturn the world by Feyola 2021-10-05T22:30:23Z

That narration was so moving... Clever take on the theme with great graphics and audio to take it to the next level. Thank you for proving once and for all that the Earth is flat.

Alchimia by Derean 2021-10-05T23:35:36Z

Very cute! Simple mechanics but works well and I like the art style.

Trenchrunner by curleysam 2021-10-06T03:56:02Z

Was a really fun concept. I liked how the charging slowed you down against your impending doom. I found it was much easier to dodge attacks than actually engage in combat, but occasionally it became useful. The boss was a nice touch and it forced me to consider the combat a bit deeper. Really great art direction and music. Overall this was a tight package.

Tables & Tremors by SlimmerBurger 2021-10-05T04:06:05Z

Genuinely love this entry. Such a simple, polished idea that feels great to play. I'd sure feel uns-TABLE if this didn't take the top slot!

Hellbamb by Alopar 2021-10-05T20:32:35Z

A clear, straightforward game with amazing art and great sound design. Would love to see a more gamified system down the line instead of just having to guess at random because that would really rocket the game to the next level!

UNTetris by JaviCoder 2021-10-06T16:46:16Z

Each level was very satisfying to complete, but I felt like I could brute force my way through each one rather than actually approaching it thoughtfully. With such nice graphics and audio, would love to see this idea developed into a more challenging puzzle-like game. Keep it up!

Unstackable by Flazone 2021-10-06T03:39:04Z

The game crashed when the timer went up. That being said, the concept was really fun and innovative. I like combining things together and its quite a fun concept in mobile games, but ive never seen it done like this before! The music and art style lead to a very light hearted atmosphere which was quite refreshing. Well done!

Deathrail by Hotowlgirls 2021-10-07T22:55:30Z

That's one deadly rail! Fun game with nice graphics, my only wish is that the rail ends were a little clearer, as they tended to blend in with the busy background. Keep grinding!

Alchemist Crisis by Jeremy-Ossola 2021-10-05T23:54:18Z

The artstyle of this game is what really drew me in, can tell a lot of effort was put into it. Very rare to see a multiplayer controller-based game in a game jam! Could see this on Xbox Arcade or something. I played it single player though and I couldn't really figure out what to do and the aiming wasn't working. Would be nice to have keyboard controls as well. Great job!

Unstable Magic by DrSmey 2021-10-06T00:37:48Z

Very cute game! I like the colorful visuals and the game is very polished. The feedback when you shoot is well done too. I did think it was a bit too unstable and hard to control, but maybe I am just bad at games. Great work on this one!

Cleaner of the Crumbling Keep by andy593 2021-10-07T05:02:55Z

This game is just OOzing with charm.. You guys killed it! One of my favorite games I've played this jam. The concept is neat, who doesn't love minigames, and the animations are incredible (especially dodging the punches). I love that we're playing as a disgruntled lizard janitor, so good. I lost my shit when I had to shoot a running wizard. Also shoutout to the incredible shop music, A+ dude

ROBOKILL by E.E-Wick 2021-10-05T22:20:39Z

Really hope this game starts getting a little more traction. Everything about it is so polished and satisfying, and its got a bunch of content for a game made in 72 hours. Keep punching!

Unstable Society by Glaikunt 2021-10-05T21:38:22Z

I played the game for the title cause I thought it was pretty funny! Good sense of humor in this game. The mechanic of calming people down could use a bit of work or interaction rather than just hold a button, but i liked the way the characters would calm each other or stress each other.

The Fighteggs by MTabasco 2021-10-05T16:23:53Z

Finally, some desperately needed egg content! Fun concept although the controls were very tricky. I often was confused by the jump direction based on the angle of my head. I could see this being really fun with maybe a bit more maneuverability in the controls and less floatiness.

Morning After by Martta 2021-10-06T20:58:20Z

Great game concept. The overall mood was really well done with the old school visuals, sound effects and excellent voice acting (rare in jam games!). The gameplay was a bit frustrating, and I wish that the debilitating lights/shaking/movement were a bit toned down. Looking forward to see what you make next!

Crazy Cauldron by Quite Good 2021-10-06T15:15:45Z

@siggyrath Agreed! If we take this idea further, I think that accessibility features like TTS when you hover over colors would solve this issue. Thank you for playing despite this!

Crazy Cauldron by Quite Good 2021-10-07T18:02:50Z

@lbo We are working on additional content for the game, more info coming soon ;) Glad you enjoyed it and thank you for the feedback!

Crazy Cauldron by Quite Good 2021-10-07T18:06:05Z

@lazyseal @siggyrath We are actually looking into an update with accessibility features so that more people can enjoy our game, if you have any suggestions for what you would want that to look like please let us know :)

Vulcanization by arturogcdev 2021-10-08T14:59:19Z

Those're some nice, polished graphics! The gameplay was easy to understand, but I felt like it was a little slow at times. If you wanted the game to become a little more hectic, speeding up the timers as well as adding additional building types might be the trick to taking this game to the next level. But I'd say it was impressive work nonetheless.

Restable by zPikA 2021-10-05T22:10:05Z

Loved the art and the very fluid animations (especially the chicken). It was fun to play too, but maybe this farmer should spend some more time training his dog.

Last Breath by Pious 2021-10-05T22:34:39Z

Really great artwork on this. It would be nice to have the classic rpg items and consumables to increase stats for a longer game. I think having varieties of attacks would also do a lot of favors to this flavor of game. Good stuff!

Unfinished by toilari 2021-10-05T16:35:38Z

Really great art direction and sound design on this one! I liked the atmosphere too those lightning effects were great. I wanted to complete but I got stuck on the painting part. I saw two of the numbers but I could not find a number in the right most painting.

Fire Risk by Soul Grinder 2021-10-07T20:44:35Z

Screenshot 2021-10-07 134224.png

I love how this game really subverts your expectations. When I started playing I immediately thought "Oh no the blocks are melting really fast and I don't want to fall!" But then I realized that you melt through platforms because you want to go down, and I thought that was really clever. The graphics give me a nice retro nostalgic feel, and I love how the game is challenging but very easy to pick up and play. Perfect length and I liked how the background changes over time. Excellent work!

Man on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown by Hiroji 2021-10-07T05:42:27Z

What an ending. Truly a story that can stand among the Kubricks and the Spielbergs. I didn't realize that the thing at the top reset the game if it got too stressed and it happened right before I got to the end so I played it all again, and it was actually pretty fun speedrunning it since I knew more or less all the patterns. Except the last level, that was frustrating. You should make a speedrun.com page for this and have people try to get a sub 10 second time. Anyway great game, I liked it and good job!

Radio Inactive by Edoardo Talamini 2021-10-08T20:08:34Z

Very satisfying game. The feedback for pushing the sections in felt very satisfying, although I wish it was a bit easier to distinguish raised ones from ones that are down. I also like how you made the menu interactive by using them!

I played it 3 times, first time I got frustrated and lost, second time I lost with 1 platform left that popped up just at the end (kind of felt unfair) and the last time I won with 45 seconds remaining. It felt a bit RNG the last two times because I didn't feel like I played that much better the 3rd time.

The artstyle is cute and charming, I love Bob's animation and the people running around in the background. The siren noises were fitting and realistic but I found them abrasive and I would have preferred some kind of music or sound effects that evoke the speed/panic factor but are enjoyable. Overall I had fun playing this, good job!

Eldritch Horse by Knipsch 2021-10-08T04:31:48Z

horse.png

Absolutely unhinged, best take on the theme I've seen so far. I ran into some animals, flew into the clouds and just scrambled around some giant cloud hitboxes all the way to the finish line, so I would say this game is a success. Very polished as well!

Robot party 2049 by Remn 2021-10-09T18:03:02Z

Really clean and appealing art style, and a cool concept overall. The biggest suggestion I could give would be to make the robot spawning not completely random. Right now the best strategy seems to be to just spam robots, but it might be interesting to see what robots are coming next or something to give the player more chance to strategize. Otherwise is a great, frantic management game!

Wabba-Jakku by Scrawach 2021-10-06T21:46:43Z

Loved it! Couldn't resist a game about the wabbajack. The use of different languages was nice and the main character was pretty funny, especially his walk animation. The random effects worked really well and weren't frustrating. There are a TON of games that try to evoke "unstable" by changing the movement controls, and this is the first game I've seen that does it well. I would have made it a little more clear when the reversed controls debuff ends though, or made the duration longer. Excellent work!

Unstable Concoctions by Timbertoes 2021-10-05T20:52:51Z

Very solid entry! Was confused by the grenades. It worked with an xbox controller connected to a reciever for windows (even though i played solo XD). The art was great and the bag animation was really smooth.

Oh, Hello? by itsBoats 2021-10-08T07:20:24Z

Such a great idea for a game, and a take on unstable that I haven't seen anything close to so far. Had a grand ol' time tossing objects around trying to get that phone in the perfect spot. My only suggestion would be to use a music clip that isn't so short, as it got a little tiring to listen to the same couple seconds of audio over and over. Otherwise, an awesome entry!

Wobbly Penguins by bqq 2021-10-05T23:13:31Z

Hands down the best game in this jam. Such a genius take on the theme, and it completely comes out of nowhere. Really loved the mood and the sound design overall, and the music was nice and catchy.

A Hard Pill to Swallow by osh.studio 2021-10-05T22:02:54Z

This is such a fun game! Love the cartoony art style and the cute sound effects. The gameplay is simple and satisfying, but my only criticism is that sometimes it takes a little too long for the pill to settle. Otherwise a solid jam entry, and if this doesn't score well that'd be a tough pill to swallow.

The Probability of Meltdown Is Minimal by DarthBoseiju 2021-10-06T03:21:05Z

Really nice job on the atmosphere and the sense of panic that this game achieved. I am really impressed how much suspense could be built in a simple game. Sound design was cool and immersive, even if its a tad loud. The reactor theme was also a lot of fun/ horrifying (you gotta watch Chernobyl if you have not). Great work!

Happy Stable by Meita 2021-10-05T16:14:09Z

Nice music and art and I like the concept of having your controls switched up! it was a little hard to see the text and sometimes all that i could press was dash which eventually lead to my death.

Volatile by Mateu 2021-10-07T18:26:33Z

Loved the polished visuals and audio, gives the game a lotta juice! Also really liked how the shield slowed down projectiles instead of repelling them or simply destroying them, I feel like I haven't really seen that before and it made dodging them even more satisfying. I was a little frustrated with the starting speed, but it ramped up pretty quickly and after two upgrades it felt a lot more comfortable. Look out for those squares!

Trenchmouth by Mords 2021-10-05T17:30:23Z

Really love the visuals and art direction, as well as the oregon trail type random event system. I think the atmosphere really makes me intrigued about what the story is. Hoping to see this idea go further because this seems like the makings of a full length title.

Unstable Cat by wvbz 2021-10-06T04:45:18Z

Very cute game with some nice art! It was a little frustrating when the cat would throw itself off the platform at seemingly random times, but then I realized that's exactly what a cat would do, and it all made sense. Great work!

Can't Wait by Jonathan Alderson 2021-10-07T05:32:55Z

This game is an absolute masterpiece. Stunning visuals, stellar gameplay and above all it made me absolutely lose my shit!! Cannot even describe how much I was cracking up playing this. First time replaying a jam game after beating it just because I wanted to bulldoze through more tables and customers with nothing more than my meager waiter body. So. Good.

I am a little sad because I felt like I was playing the game wrong because for whatever reason the game rewards you for *not* doing the most fun thing which is knocking over things. I also wish I could choose a level to play because the first level was less fun than the others because of less things to knock over. So passionate about this game though. 5 stars in all categories, well done.

Also I got softlocked when a waiter pushed me off the level

UNSUSTAINABLE: a god job by froissant 2021-10-06T21:29:42Z

This game had a lot of quirky charm with the story and setting. The minigames were pretty challenging, particularly the color making game (but probably just requires practice). I liked how the minigames would switch out and scale with difficulty too! The artwork was really top notch and overall this was a nice, polished entry that could maybe just use a tweak in the sfx volume or a slider for volume. Hope that doesn't bring you down cause i had a lot of fun playing regardless!

Losing the Signal by ByYiro 2021-10-06T19:00:58Z

Wow! I can't believe how much I got sucked into this simple but clever game. At first I thought it was a bit hard and I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do, but before too long I was really getting into it. I love how every time it feels like the static is about to get me and then I juuust barely make it to a safe zone, I was on the edge of my seat every time. The sound design is very minimal and complements the intense and almost ominous atmosphere.

I did feel that the intro text was too fast and I would have appreciated a little more feedback as to which door I was opening when I hit a switch, but I found it to be a fun test of my memory. Excellent work and I look forward to seeing what you make next!

Scootles by Surfa 2021-10-05T20:45:08Z

Perfect score babyyy. I liked the concept a lot. At first I was running people over because I thought that earned me cash but I soon realized thats not what you are supposed to do lol

Radish Kid Ascension by CozyGamePals 2021-10-09T18:15:55Z

Oh wow that took a surprisingly dark twist, but it was still very touching. Easily one of my favorites so far, from the charming graphics, to the challenging but extremely satisfying gameplay that gives the player the freedom to overcome each challenge in their own way. Really amazing work!

Snatched by cerieyele 2021-10-05T22:44:30Z

Gotta love a game with simple and easy to understand mechanics that gets more complicated overtime. Some levels felt a little long, and very punishing if you died towards the end, but the game does a really good job of keeping the player on their toes.

Lord Glutton by Spolarium 2021-10-06T04:25:23Z

Really loved the music on this one. total bop. I liked the atmosphere generally too very 2 bit feel. The gameplay was simplistic, but the movement controls were pretty nice so it was nice carting around.

Wobbly Cannonry by LucDeligne 2021-10-07T05:10:09Z

Wow, what a gem! Very clever yet simple to grasp mechanic, and it felt so satisfying to get the angle of a turret just right and blast away my foes. Would have liked to have turrets spawn in a little more frequently though, as I would sometimes find myself without any weapons for too long, ultimately leading to my untimely demise. Fire away!

The Swirl by cybuuorg 2021-10-13T02:51:18Z

As has been said, the visuals are absolutely killer. The music and sound design are also top notch and created a really authentic atmosphere on top of the writing and very clear character voices. While I wasn't able to explore all of the possible endings, I was very pleasantly surprised at the amount of writing and story that was fit into this project. Keep on swirling!

Cytoplasm Madness by dagon 2021-10-05T23:48:28Z

Right off the bat I loved this game for the hilarious intro scene. Straight to the point gameplay, fair difficulty and super clean visuals + mechanics. By far the most polished game I've seen this jam. And the fact that you're on a giant moving creature is so cool. Loved everything about this game! Only thing is it's initially unclear what your relationship is with the small dudes but I caught on quickly enough. Stellar work!

Stumblewood by Medley Studios 2021-10-06T21:30:50Z

I think this game has a ton of potential. As soon as I started playing and realized I could stack things on a moving creature I couldn't help but start smiling! reminded me of the big strider things in Morrowind

I also love the art style and design of the characters. The junk blocks look great but didn't read to me as trash. I like how the sapling looks like a half twig half person, and the way they move and jump are super satisfying. The music also adds a nice touch!

I couldn't figure out how to keep my sapling from running out of energy after 3 tries, I think adding a tutorial or doing some more playtesting could help players have a better understanding of what to do. Great work overall!

Clowning Around by Casteled 2021-10-07T05:30:39Z

Shockingly addictive! Would have preferred if the projectiles threw you off balance instead of instantly ending your run, but otherwise I was quite happy just clowning around.

Where's My Tripod? by Pixelydian 2021-10-06T21:16:48Z

I liked how my tendency to rush things was really punished with this game. Patience is really rewarded and its trickier to get a nice picture than imagined, which was aided a lot due to all the random factors you coded in. The game had great polish, peaceful atmosphere and music, and stuck to the theme really well. (PS I got professional and felt great about it :P)

Alien Disco by Ludokultur 2021-10-05T04:57:18Z

Nice to see a PICO-8 game here. Thought it was a clever take on the theme, with a simple mechanic that really makes you feel like you're at a night club. Keep dancing!

Critical Error by JayJack 2021-10-08T20:46:32Z

I see a lot of potential here. The visuals and the audio are really good, and with a little more time this could have been flesh outed into a full feeling game. Nice work!

the cards we're dealt by rainedoe 2021-10-07T18:20:32Z

Aw man I could listen to that soundtrack forever. Really loved the artwork too, and with all the different choices and metrics, the game is easily replayable. I sometimes found that my choices didn't lead where I would have expected them to, but maybe the character just doesn't like ants in logs as much as I do. Beautiful game!

Paper Route by OllieOA 2021-10-06T16:49:12Z

Fun game overall and a nice take on the theme. My one major criticism is that the game viewing window is just too big and I couldn't even see the entire screen at once. Keep pushing those papers!

Kattonauten by Elastic 2021-10-07T19:06:17Z

Really enjoy seeing fresh, polished Pico-8 games! The mechanic is also simple yet challenging, so it feels great to launch yourself around once you get a good feel for it.

Shotgun King: the Final Checkmate by benjamin 2022-04-09T23:51:41Z

Absolutely killer concept and brilliant execution. Also really loved the programming in this one! An impressive game regardless of the time frame.

Those ants were very scary.

It's Not Me It's You by John Livingston 2022-04-06T05:10:26Z

Pretty gosh darn funny game and execution. I like the idea and I'm not sure how u did the ai but it seems pretty responsive. Reminds me of that episode of always sunny

Flooded Caves by nusan 2022-04-14T03:55:47Z

Very neat and inventive little game! Altogether felt like a very complete package, and I enjoyed the balance between chill gameplay and strategy to keep my people from drowning.

STUDY LADY (cookie mix) by PeachTreeOath 2022-04-09T03:30:31Z

That was probably the most unique concept for a game I've seen so far in the jam. Couple thoughts: - Amazing and cute visuals - Great song choice - I don't like getting milk in my face on loop - The gameplay was pretty fun - but I wanted a new song!!!

Don't save the planet by winniehell 2022-04-05T23:25:26Z

Intergalactic whack a mole. I like it! It gets hard fast. High scores anyone?

The Beast Within by cad 2022-04-05T22:20:16Z

loved the concept. I wish there was difficulty increase or something to mix up the gameplay. Or maybe some kind of crafting mechanic that waranted exploration. Nice job on the visuals and mood though, that part was nailed.

Anya's Valley by nardandas 2022-04-06T02:05:19Z

The suprise of when the tractors come was amazing. Also I felt the writing was really good, from the little dialogue I could find. Music was also a lovely level of trippy

Gummy Fear by EasyLuckyGem 2022-04-15T21:35:31Z

Nice game, I very much felt the fear whenever that hand came near.

Rising Tide by VivianMochi 2022-04-06T01:50:23Z

Damn this is the best twist on minesweeper ever. I really loved the music, the visuals and the overall CRISPness of the game. I was so happy to win my first timescreenshot-jellies.png

Untitled Zombie Shooter by Ismael Rodriguez by Ismael Rodriguez 2022-04-06T03:05:42Z

I'm a sucker for snappy 2d/3d FPS shooters with snappy controls so I got a kick out of this! I had an issue though where my camera would drift which made it difficult to play. The sound effects were very satisfying and the visuals were nice and crunchy. I wish that I didn't get instakilled from behind though. Overall very fun!

Different Strokes by Scott Steffes 2022-04-05T21:20:00Z

This is such an amazing game! The audio perfectly fits the mood, and the graphics are simple and clean and lend themselves well to an interactive art exhibition. The concept itself is also very impressive and executed really well.

Waterlogged by Logic Monkey 2022-04-09T03:50:53Z

Really liked the graphics on this one, and the controls felt the best of any platformers I've played so far. Great programming!

Astral Abyss by Alexascher 2022-04-05T21:28:17Z

firefox_hqW5EbLuHn.png

Such a unique idea and masterful execution! I appreciate how simple this game is on its surface and yet how complex it can get mechanically. It reminds me a bit of Osmos but i really haven't played a game like it. I love how it balances a sense of melancholy, the feel of a chill 2048-like sim, and a replayable high score game all at the same time. Truly incredible!

The Endless Night by Arivenzys 2022-04-05T21:46:47Z

I really enjoyed this, it's definitely some of my favorite art so far. The audio and gameplay is also really quality too. My only complaint is that it was a little hard to really appreciate the character art and animations because the camera was very zoomed out.

Rat King by noisemaker 2022-04-05T21:08:02Z

Pretty cool game! I actually laughed so hard when I captured a person and heard their cut-off scream xD Visuals and audio/humor are top notch, took me a minute to understand some of the gameplay mechanics but overall pretty fun. Very difficult and unforgiving though. I would have liked it if the throwing mechanic was charged or something.

Fire Hazard by Fupi 2022-04-05T21:55:03Z

This is really fun, it's simple enough to understand but complex enough to play for a while. The character designs are all really cute too! Would have liked some ability to lower the volume though since it was pretty loud on its own.

Slime Showdown by ToC 2022-04-05T22:35:21Z

Delay the inevitable butt getting kicked. I liked the progression system, especially how it was kinda random what your next option would be + abilities. Art was really nice too. Wish i had some music and sounds to go along with, but perhaps in Version 2.0?

Walterfall by Ulisses 2022-04-09T03:04:40Z

Fun game - music sounds like clown music so that gives me nightmares. I loved the addition of items, I think it could make a fun mobile game with more items, map variety, etc kinda like a temple run situation (not exactly the same though). For a game jam, it was a pretty complete package

Battery Low by Milestone Games 2022-04-05T21:38:41Z

Very clear and clever use of the theme here. The visuals are pleasant and cohesive, and the sound design really brings this up a notch.

1 Man 6 Bullets by Raphaeltan 2022-04-06T20:01:38Z

What a gem of a game!!

firefox_ckA7dKw8XG.png

Easily one of the best games I've played this jam. Total complete package, I'm in love with how chunky and satisfying the effects, music and visuals are together <3 I like how you learn more about the mechanics as you play in an intuitive way. When the meter is full it is SOO much fun, I almost wish there was an infinite meter mode where you could just shoot infinite ricochet bullets into hordes of mobs because that it definitely the most fun part of the game! I love the balance between going ham and having to keep track of all your bullets bouncing around.

Keeping this one in my folder of all-time favorite jam games, this game is masterclass!

Prestidigitaxation by TomatoLamp 2022-04-09T03:54:22Z

I really enjoyed putting an end to those pesky tax collectors! Didn't realize about the spell tax until it was far too late for me...

Fronk Frizby - Qoffee Cuest by LiquidFunk 2022-04-11T22:39:20Z

This was a nice hidden gem. Didn't fully understand if there was more depth to the combat aside from just attacking, but the dialogue and visuals were really fun.

BOULDER by macaroni.dev 2022-04-06T05:13:35Z

Brainstorming ideas, we thought about Sisyphus too. Glad to see someone took that concept all the way. Nice visuals, and punishing gameplay - as it ought to be.

Wizardfall by Quite Good 2022-04-06T01:49:44Z

@galse87 Should be fixed now hopefully! Thank you for pointing this out :)

Somnipathy by Cyzaine 2022-04-08T17:56:04Z

Presentation was incredible. Kudos to the art team! Impressive how much gameplay you got in + the scoreboard is a nice addition (especially within the scope of a jam). I agree the character felt a bit unnecessarily slow, and I sorta was left wanting more with the story (in a good way, like I think this concept could go further). Overall, well done!

Cards of the Cosmos by popesp 2022-04-05T03:09:31Z

All the sounds and animations felt super tight, and I loved the theme. Dark Expanse OP!!

Catastrophe by JKotov 2022-04-09T03:16:24Z

This is the biggest sleeper in the entire jam. Great art, great music, great story. F*** you evil chainsaw cats (I didn't know about the whole clicking mechanic. Should have read there)

Panic by woahitsjeff 2022-04-09T03:27:01Z

The game was genuinely anxiety inducing right off the bat, so good job nailing that mood.

Color Entropy by knexator 2022-04-15T21:29:23Z

Very unique idea in a nice polished package. Would have liked to see more iteration on the initial idea maybe with other colors/mechanics, but it's a really cool concept.

Dike Defender by Raptarr8 2022-04-15T21:40:38Z

Nice game! The aesthetic is very charming, and swinging that sword all about is pretty fun.

Cold and Alone by David York 2022-04-06T03:11:29Z

Liked it a lot ! Felt like a sort of Oregon Trail type game - but with some much needed actual gameplay added. Like the survival mechanics were simple, but so good I thought. I would have loved some music, but Oregon Trail didn't have any so can't complain too much. Well done!!

Love, wings & flamethrowers by torte478 2022-04-09T03:42:20Z

Mildly blindsided by the tone of this game, and I'm not mad about that one bit. My one major complaint is that the fire hitboxes were not super well defined by the fire effect.

Mr. Second by Marvis 2022-04-05T22:00:56Z

This is a really unique idea, but I do think that the time rewind mechanic is a little too jarring. Making the countdown timer a little more clear, or giving the player the option to switch manually could definitely help. Otherwise though, I think that the audio and graphics were really well done and charming.

Mr. Second by Marvis 2022-04-05T22:11:37Z

Loved the visuals and overall consistency to the theme and concept. Catchy music and nice sound fx. The game mechanic was a nice and innovative approach to the 'two players' puzzlers.

Mushrooms of the end by Pordrack 2022-04-09T03:58:09Z

That was super trippy. I kinda like the clicky tower defense
