Really cute looking game! Wasn't able to get the little radish guy up more than 2 islands tho. THey're really unstabled!

Really cute looking game! Wasn't able to get the little radish guy up more than 2 islands tho. THey're really unstabled!
Finally made it to the top! Very well done with all the messy physic interactions. Fantastic work.
the art is really cute and nice. The mecanichs is simple, but very efficient.
Well done on this game, I really appreciate it.
Cool game, really well made and nice theme usage. A little hard but its only a matter of practice. Congrats!
I absolutelly loved it! 5 stars all over
Super fun game, I killed my bunny a lot, great vibes the entire time
absolutely wonderful I haven't played a physics puzzle game like this since lemmings over 10 years ago. There really isn't much I can say, for something made during a jam this hit's all the spots. if there was a post jam version I'd love to see smoother experience in some areas as in the camera would follow the player sudo-automatically, the player had some less finicky pathing, and maybe an ingame tutorial. but really that fluff that does not need to be there at all. fantastic job!
Made it all the way to the top on the first try! Lovely little game, really enjoyed it. Well done!
Awesome game i think, never felt finicky cause radish kid always found their way
One of the best game I played, really good job guys. Amazing art with nice background music.
@denhette - haha, this world is hardcore unstable! One day Radish Kid will make it up there. Thanks for playing!
@randomphantom - Awesome, thank you so much! We're so glad somebody got to see the ending XD
@tardif-adrian - thank you for such warm comments!
@ltyrosine - Thanks! We're super proud of of how much we embraced the theme! Glad you were able to figure out the difficulty!
@thiago-nascimento - OMG you are so kind T_T We were so nervous going into this jam, we're really glad you like it!
@str8griz - haha, poor Radish Kid! Glad you liked it!
@simex - Thank you so much! We totally agree, there were so many quick decisions we had to make for the sake of time. If we were to make this a bigger game, there's a lot of big improvements we could do. Making this really reminded us of early physics Flash games!
@animalx - Wow, you made it! That's so impressive haha. We weren't sure how hard we tuned this game. we got so good playing it all weekend as we were making it.
@yokin - Awesome! We put a lot of work into Radish Kid's AI. Glad they were able to find their way for you.
@domin77 - Wow thank you so much! It makes us so happy to read this. we had no idea how well our game would come out.
What a fun game! It is very polished too, I like it :) Also, the graphics are very cute :innocent:
The art is lovely and the music is sooo nice, reminded me of The Sims 2 music a bit but more chilled which is a huge compliment as it's one of my favourite soundtracks! The gameplay was satisfying and the radish seemed smart enough to attempt what I was trying each time so I didn't get frustrated. And my goodness, the ending. Terrific job, well done :)
Edit: I incorrectly referred to your radish as a turnip, I apologise.
@wouter52 - thank you! We're really glad you liked it! ♥
@jaybaus - ahh thank you! We're glad Radish Kid actually did what you wanted, we worked hard on that! Also, pretty sure radishes and turnips are the same fruit, so you're good 😜
for some reason there is no link to the game for me on ludumdare page so i had to go and search you on itch io. thankfully it was available on itch. that being said....
this one is my favourite game in the jam so far... the story is awesome the mood is great the mechanics and innovation is on point! i love it i love the visuals i love the feel and i think its highly extendable!
@potkirland - thank you! We had the link hidden in the description, didn't realize there was a spot in the bottom for it 😓 Thank you so much for the kind words about our game. so glad you liked it!
terribly good! all 5s! loved the ending!!!!
@dante2001 - Thank you for continuing to show us so much love! It really means a lot. it's such a huge encouragement!
Took a few attempts, but I got it! One of my favourite entries so far, really well done! :) Lots of fun!
The ending is so cute and sad. The first time I made it to the top I didn't realize you were intended to keep going into the clouds, but I played it again and it was well worth it 😭!
Made it to the top first try. Looks great, plays great, almost too good to pass as a jam game. I like it!
That was excellent; the physics worked really well, graphics were very nice, Radish Kid generally behaved very smartly as well. Really great ending too!
@python-b5 - Awesome, so glad you made it to the top! Thanks for playing <3
@cobyw - We're really glad you figured out there was an ending. We realize we didn't teach a lot of stuff very well. Time was really short haha.
@tykenn - aww thank you! We're really proud of how well we divided work with two people to get a polished feeling game!
@destroyertech - Thank you!
RIP Radish Family... Very cool! The layout of the map kinda made it look like that top island was the target, took me a while to figure out where the little guy was trying to get.
Really great graphics, and very polished. Looks like you have the foundation of a really fun game here if you keep improving it.
@caeonosphere - yeah that's a real shame, we just didn't have enough time to make a more clear goal. we were cutting it down the wire. Glad you figured it out!!
@jessefreeman - Thank you! We definitely had a fun discussion about what we would do if we grew this game into something bigger. lots of potential here!
Like many others have said, this was a surprisingly polished and a thoroughly fun game. I wouldn't be surprised if this was around the top games this time around.
It's arguable whether this is unstable though, given how stable the construction materials were, but I'm being pedantic here.
The entire game was simply relaxing and a lot of fun. The audio, art and the gameplay were all tied well together. Really nicely done!
I did it! I like casual puzzly games. I have to play them until I win. I enjoyed this, wish there was more. Good work, keep it up! Thanks for sharing!
I made it to the top! Oh look, how sweet... Oh...
It's a bit challenging, but not too challenging. I think it could be a fun physics/puzzle plat-former. I think the physics is a little unpredictable in this though.
Very nicely done.
Friggen adorable, I loved it so much.
As far as feedback goes, I only have two thoughts:
- The AI pathfinding can get a bit difficult at times. Which is to be expected with this amount of physics puzzling going on. There were lots of times that I started spamming items hoping the lil turnip would figure out that they should really not be so picky about where I put the board and start moving cause there's a dang earthquake nipping at their heels
- The items themselves could do with some theming that fits the turnip and his journey. At this point they feel a little random and don't really gel with the rest of the aesthetic, but at least they translate to the player immediately what they're functions are so it's hard to say exactly what you could do to make them fit better. Maybe just keeping with the plant theme? Using garden trellises instead of ladders, use beanstalks. I'm not 100% on the solutions but it's something to consider!
You guys should be really proud of this entry! It's super well done and I'd play more of this if you make a full version.
@xedur Sounds like you're just too pro at the game! Thank you!
@hinesite Hahah this was the exact reaction we were looking for with that ending! Thanks for playing <3
@deprecat Such great feedback! Totally agree that the build items could be more in theme. With more time it would have been fun to add more types of animations/states to the character so they emotionally react to the instability/earthquake. Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback, super appreciate it!
@epicgamefan Thanks so much! We had a lot of ideas for different levels and more build items, but they were cut to make it in time for the jam
I made it! I thought it was gonna be impossible at first, but it's actually a lot easier once you get a feel for the strategy, which felt nice! Dealing with the piece RNG was also sort of interesting, I liked having to adapt to the different situations. I was also pretty impressed with the workability of the character's auto-movement logic (though I imagine it's probably held together by threads and tape internally)
For accessibility's sake I'd recommend trying to implement some alternative controls -- I'm just imagining people trying to play this on a macbook or something with no external mouse (so no middle mouse button and no easy scroll wheel for rotation). Is there a reason that the pan camera shortcut couldn't just be mapped to right-click instead of middle click? I actually ended up using the arrow keys / WASD instead to move the view around because middle-clicking caused the entire itch page to scroll as well (unless I entered fullscreen mode).
Super fun game! Great completion of the gameplay. It's like building a physical bridge to balance everything!
Pretty fun game! I wish it would have lasted longer! but loved it! I always liked this type of games. Great graphics and music. Good ending but a little sad. Great job!
I don't have much to say that others haven't said, great entry holy cow! Thank you for the submission, I had a blast playing it :)
Wow that is very interesting, the physics and the way the player detects where to climb and how is very cool to look at. Also the ending made me sad :( The only thing that I would like is just a small indicator that points to the sky and indicates where is the goal. Really good entry!
@ddrkirbyisq - Glad you liked it! We really lucked out with how some of the strategy plays. We're actually super proud of how well the character works, can't believe we got that in during the weekend - but it was totally necessary for this game idea. We totally agree with the controls advice, we didn't even consider playing with a trackpad. There really was only so much we could do in 3 days, so maybe it's okay haha. We'll definitely have it in mind next time!
@dgspitzer - Thank you! we definitely had bridge building games in mind when we were making this
@hermeses - Thanks! We also wish we could have done more interesting level(s). We spent all of our time just getting the base rules working, we had to cut ourselves off. Wanting more is a good thing, though! We're really proud and super glad you liked it.
@elazulus - thank you for being so kind!
@glaciereclipse - that's awesome, we're glad the game is interesting to look at. We think that's super important for a good game, so that's always something we try to do. We totally agree with the final goal indicator - there were lots of little things about the game that are confusing that we just failed to explain.
Really good job! I think the custom pathfinding up the structure couldn't have been an easy task for a game jam! Art looks great and music fit the game well.
Wonderful game! Super pleasant and mellow. The character and animations add a ton of charm. Placing objects on the tower feels really satisfying, and I'm impressed with how well the little guy finds his way. Great job overall!
Amazing how you implemented the character do all those actions to being using the player made messy buildups. Very cool game! Only thing I was missing were the more happy ending. And more challenge as an adult player (something like how to success the level with a limited or minimal amount of pieces)
There would be sounds, but the mechanics here are just epic so i could not be missing anything else in current game play. These should be more levels, was really fun to play. This would be like a really fun game to play by all kids. Stairways to garden growing above the skies. Awesome! And all in 72 hours.
Man what a cute entry! I loved it alot, very polished.
This was super adorable, and a lot of fun. I managed to make it to the clouds above. The music was pleasant, but the sound bar doesn't let you turn the music off. It's wonderful though.
T_T the ending makes me sad. I am so in love with the graphic! I really enjoy the gameplay as well. Well done guys <3
Jam Winner.
The whole visual aesthetic of this is great.
@funemaker - Thanks! It was really tricky getting that custom pathfinding, but a fun thing to try! Thanks for the kind words <3
@knipsch - Thank you! We really did so many new things, we're so happy you think it came out well.
@hiisileiri - Really good ideas! We totally wanted to explore more in terms of challenge, levels, and progression - but this is as much as we could finish in time. Glad you liked it! Thanks <3
@frozendoze - Aww, thank you!
@lelulagames - ooh good catch! what a strange bug haha
@mscarrotcake - Aww thank you! I guess we're fans of cute but complicated emotions, haha
@publicidadeba - Haha, we're just glad we got something finished. Some of the other games submitted are unbelievable. It would be a real treat if people noticed and played our game. though! <3
@johnsensei - thank you! I think we're really figuring out a style that works for our team. Hopefully we can keep going and making interesting stuff together
Wow, this game looks great! And so cute :D The physics and pieces are fun to work with and it's really cool to play as well. The ending was so sad :( But I loved the game!
@flywolfe - thank you! So glad you got to the ending, sounds like you got into it! <3
Oh wow that took a surprisingly dark twist, but it was still very touching. Easily one of my favorites so far, from the charming graphics, to the challenging but extremely satisfying gameplay that gives the player the freedom to overcome each challenge in their own way. Really amazing work!
@quite-good - Ahh thank you! That ending is something we were really happy to get in, haha. Really glad you liked the game overall <3
"Animal crossing but everything is falling apart". I so like to build all these messy stairs while listening to calm background music. You can't imagine how. And the idea is so simple that when you open a game you understand what to do after about a few seconds. the game feels so polished and good I don't know how to criticise it. Maybe add some levels and generic blocks, but will it be so balanced and enjoyable then? Who knows. How can I follow you to check updates if you continue on developing that game? I am you fan from the very that moment!
Okay I found how to criticise you. That wasn't easy at all, you know? I play from a laptop and don't have middle mouse button to pan camera!
Adorably cute, good central mechanic that lead to its own challenges as I went along as I played badly just throwing things where ever they could fit. But was fun doing that anyway
@yogurtthehorse Oh gosh, thanks for all the kind words! And thank you for the critique! We did add alternative camera controls with the keyboard just in case someone didn't have a middle mouse. If we updated the game updating the controls is something we talked about for sure. We post mostly on Twitter (same handle name as our user name) if you're interested in any updates. Thanks so much for playing and taking the time to send feedback <3
@nefylem Hahah yes! It's fun to see it all chaotic sometimes, I'm glad you were able to finish and enjoyed the challenge. Thanks for playing! <3
Yay, I made it to the top! It only took me 3 tries!!! >:D Amazing game, I love it! 5 stars on everything but humor! Honestly can't wait to see where you place! Epic job, keep it up!
Love the whole aesthetic, nice work! I like how polished the itch.io page is, will use it as a reference in the future :)
@sephowepho Yay!! Thanks so much for playing and rating, so glad you got to the end!
@bakuchi Haha thanks so much! Please feel free to steal any ideas, we are still learning too and often look at other itch pages for inspiration as well!
@cozygamepals OMG I JUST CLICKED ON YOUR PROFILE!!! This is your first Ludum Dare jam!?! How the flip!? I made a platformer in three days and then I play this thing!!! I would've thought you were a veteran!
This is an incredibly solid entry! I love the little radish character and the game mechanic :) It's amazingly bug free and feels super polished. Congrats on your first entry being so solid. Really glad you added WASD in addition to middle click for panning btw since I can't middle click on my trackpad :)
I also think I encountered a bug? [https://imgur.com/a/fOcCvms](https://imgur.com/a/fOcCvms) even though the earthquake line was above my structure, it stayed intact? Also my radish pal wasn't able to ascend even though there's a clear path up.
Nonetheless congrats, you two should be proud!
I loved it! A very original game. It sure can become something much bigger! The music matches a lot with the cute environment.
Congratulations to everyone involved!
@sephowepho Hahah this is our first entry to Ludum Dare, but we have done Global Game Jam together before as well as making other games together! Also your platformer was super impressive for your first entry as well, especially if you're new to game dev! You had really great progression and level layouts in it, you should be proud!
@angela-he OMG thank you so much for playing!!! Our team is a big fan of your work (we've played a few of your games in itch!). We are blown away at what you did for the game jam, and really appreciate your kind words! Thank you for taking the time to send feedback and finding that bug. We still have a lot to learn!
@euler-moises Thank you so much! We feel lucky it all came together in the end. Thanks for taking the time to play <3
Nice game with cools physics and pleasant stylish graphics! Was pretty hard to understand how to place pieces to move the character at the beginning, but this became clear by trial and error. This looks fun and lively when character moves back to ground when pieces are unstable
Super adorable game! Awesome job with the physics and AI for the game. The character and environment were really cute. One of the best I've played this jam :D
@strega Thank you so much for your kind words and for playing!! <3
I beat it after dying once or twice! Really fun, liked the different shapes and figured out how to build more stable structures with the falling islands. I could see some more specific setups where you build it straight first knowing it'll fall and make a bridge, or knowing you have to cross a span so making a more triangular stable structure. Great job!
Amazing art style! It was a little glitchy at times. That ending though...
