Simple Harmonic Motion Game by Escapade 2022-04-06T14:46:31Z
Absolutely 5 stars for innovation. Super cool idea. Was very interesting to interfere the ball so it won't move by Y at all :D

Absolutely 5 stars for innovation. Super cool idea. Was very interesting to interfere the ball so it won't move by Y at all :D
This game is hilarious, interesting and with beautiful music. It's sad you don't have much of grades (but seems like you don't comment other games much)
I wish more people could see that game, thank you for this title, I really enjoyed playing it!
Cool idea. I really enjoyed your game :)
But can say that it's a bit too dark (maybe just for me, though)
Thank you for the game!
Omg! Graphics and sounds are so cool! But I hope the life of humanity will not depend on me.......
Very nice graphics, but this pitch sound every 3 seconds is just too high for my ears. Can't play much with sound :<
Very nice and cute graphics!
Thank you for the game :3
So I died on death screen... I see
Totally relates to theme and cool visual
Me: "Where are all those cars are getting to this small planeeeet, aaahhh, please stop"
Very cool implementation, smooth graphics and idea. I just didn't liked audio much, becauase as for me it should be intense and pushing. We have a similar experience in our game and decided to use fast fun music. But that doesn't mean that audio bad, just not for me, I suppose :)
Great game, thank you for it! One of my favs I suppose :)
It was very difficult to understand what to do with chain. And lighting is too dark, I guess :(
Would be cool if there was an option to adjust brightness
Very nice graphics and I really liked jokes in dialogues. And this touch with giraffe' chin... Oh! Genius. Everything is so cute and cool :3
Thank you for the game!
So cool graphics. And very nice gameplay
Seems like design idea, but for me 3 columns is not enough :(
Thank you for a great game!
Nice game you have there! For more interesting gameplay I would make lasers damage other satellites or even Earth, heh!
Very satisfying game, spent a while peacefully and with fun selling all of those flowers :)
I've playend on the web, but as you mentioned you didn't test Mac build I went doing it for you and unfortunately it didn't launch on my m1 Mac. But good news is that game's already good in browser :)
Makes me remember Stanley parable, very fun! :)
And it makes fun imagining how you recorded all these phrases and neighbours heard it :D
@arianad thank you! The art is done by @artemvodorez and @13x666, they are great artists! :)
@unbugged pleased to hear it! I suppose we may make ending a bit more understandable with a small bugfix when we get rested!
@chilljams can only agree with you :)
We had a lot of ideas and cool mini-map for indications, but timeeee. Only if we had one more day, eh!
Thanks, @archangel! You can check out our previous game from LD49 (it may be even similar to this one in some way) or check just other games on my itch: https://yogurtthehorse.itch.io :)
@firellon thank you for you kind words! And the game is tutorial itself -- just go around and look what is going on there :)
@melektaus thank you for feedback!
@chaoscomposer yeah.. We wanted to make better indication, minimap and other info, some more minigames, but didn't have much time :( Though, anyway we hope mood of the game is just right! ACtually shields-teleporters and gun makes life drain faster, but holes and fire happen more often :)
@nem thank you! Yeah, we hadn't much time for polishing, but that's the jam you know :( Understanding the game is just the way to play it :D
@proxy-games thank you <3
@ukulelefury ohh, so much kind words! Thank you!
@mrtroy the name was the hardest part, @13x666 made it in the last few hours :D
@andrground thank you! Tbh, last day I (programmer) spent 9 hours at office on my regular job, so actually it's a bit less :D
@david-york thank you! Music design is mostly on @artemvodorez
@trypants <3 thank you!
@gelthan decision for controls was done by me and it's just first came up to my mind, so it is a bit rusty, yeah. THank you for your feedback!
@tombuston I was thinking about time score, but due fact it's too random it won't be too fair. It should had been balanced for that, but timmeeeee
@squaxcom that's the way to play! :D Thank you!
@ollie-d wow. Didn't notice that bug. Heh. But it's only animation, though and it's hard to achieve such behavior as they not too close to each other
Anyway thank you all for playing!
@velvetlobster check out this then :)
http://yogurtthehor.se/shr/ship_base.png
This also includes wires system backend we had no time to implement :)
@velvetlobster cheers to @13x666!
@jormarysky haha. Hope you enjoyed!
Oh. The game is very similar to ours! But your boss character is not as cute as our little droid, sorry! :3
Jokes aside, very nice game! Wonder how many cups of tea all those employees drink...
@tieran ;)
It was a bit hard to get to the end because of slowness of typing and amount of text, so I ended with checking source code to read all the phrases, but anyway, despite my impatience this... art? very impressed me
Very cool concept and idea
Oh. And wanted to say that listening to key presses not synced with typing for such long time was quite disturbing
Didn't much figure out how exactly to play, but I did it 755m!
I suppose it's my favorite game for now. All this style, social interaction and fun seeing other people work
Brilliant
So first I just followed the arrow and ended the game in like 2 secs. And "wait??? what??" but after restart I decided to look around and realised the game has much more stuff :)
I really liked the idea and music, but gameplay actually is a bit boring for me. Would be cool to find out some long story you can interact with, make some decisions and so on :)
Very stylish graphics And game just fits to the theme. Except I am missing option to duck down, but that doesn't change the fact the game is pretty cool!
Game looks so interesting, but I don't have a PC. Could you make a WebGL/Mac version? :(
Aaaahh. That was cool, I wanna end all story, but I died after 15th level.. So bad I am not good in fightings, the plot is too breathtaking for me
And should mention artstyle and music. Beautiful
I can only notice that the game is a little slow for me
I couldn't realise this image with man fighting crabs world be so connected to game...
Maan. Can you make a Mac/WebGL version? I am stunning to play this, but don't have a PC!
Good graphics, but combat feel almost turn-based for me
Very nice art-style. And fun idea with a time loop, heh. But cut scene in the beginning could be much faster, I guess
Love this entry, heh!
Simple and nice :)
Oh, I wish it would be more levels. And a bit sad that I got to the last item full of energy (well. not quite full, but!) and game ended anyway. And those movements are sooo satisfying. And sand trails. Omg.
First I was angry I can't control with my keyboard, but then I realised that this was done for a reason and the reason is super cool! Definetely one of mt favs entries
@mascoll yeah of course and I've seen I've did it in 68 seconds, but still I want more!
Brilliant idea :)
Makes me remember this game: https://stabyourself.net/nottetris2/
But your idea I like more as it feels more fun :D
It's better to tell about controls as otherwise it's hard to understand how to play. And seems like arrow that points to closest coin is not working correctly :(
Wanted to say that game is cool, but it won't tell that I can't anything bad about that game! Music, visuals, gameplay. Liked this title, pretty solid!
Hmm.. Itch says game is not uploaded....
@helzinko Oh well. I see. Let me then recommend you this one web gl template for Unity :)
https://github.com/OmiyaGames/omiya-games-embed-webgl-template
So now I played and can say that I really enjoyed your game! Like "Enter the gungeon, but mini game" :)
Sound effects are simple but, still cool and enjoyable. Wish you good luck with that! I would definitely get such game on my phone to pass the time once in a while
Very cute graphics! I just love watching this penguin animations! :3
Omg, I thought these all flowers... Who could knew it's all people dying...
VERY cool graphics. And simple and cool idea. Absolutely liked it
Really nice game. Made me remember DLC Quest, heh! Thank you for it!
This game is insane! I really liked it and it made me remember good times I was playing Super Hexagon! And this difficulty indicator like in Risk of Rain. Whaaa. Super-super cool. Thank you for such cool and beautiful game!
Very beautiful art. Attacking with hands wasn't obvious, bug game is cool anyway
I like all these jokes and idea of fixing people problems with random ingredients. Game feels good!
I just like watching graphics, but I feel that gameplay has lack of a variety. But that graphics...
What a long Gastrointestinal tract people have. It allows us to make so many golf levels in such games!
-----
Sounds and graphics so satisfying, I really enjoyed the game. And it feels completely finished
so adorable. I really like this kind a of quizzes where you have not so much of factors and they all are pretty simple
the only critics I can give you is that I can't disable wind sound, only music, and your beautiful pixel graphics is getting blurry a bit
So, I like the music, but not quite understand how should I misspell...
amazing. but I would add a bit of saves and make it not soooooo lazy. but anyway amazing
Would like to see more strategic gameplay, I guess. For now I just go to points on map and that's a bit boring, while cross entire level take a lot of time
We wanted to make al level in our game like this one but didn't have time for that. Anyway, a cool implementation of that kind of idea. The things that I missed is something like newsletters about what is going on. Like ALL COWS ARE ESCAPING THE KINGDOM and all you money just disappear due crisis. Some warning should be posted before that of corse. And maybe a goal or a timer to state the end of the session wouldn't be a bad enchantment, I guess
@japayne oh maaan. How could I miss it...
Commrades! I am happy to announce that our party has proved that this game is absolutely beautiful. Although, you mentioned a problem with batteries def*cit and it can't be published. Commrade Anzopov appreciate your idea and very powerful English pronunciation. That's why your execution is scheduled to tomorrow instead of today.
Bless the Mother Russia!
p.s. listening to full audio again is way too long
fun concept. I managed to deliver one pizza after a few tries, hehe
Wanna see your face the moment you got the idea of that. It's just amazing. I would add an indicator about danger angle and reverse coming figures display, but overall it's just fun and genius
Every room is like a separated puzzle. Would like to see how mechanics are re-used
Really cool graphics, but not quite understandable how fast should I do staff, so I died because I wan't rushing
I don't know what was it, but it's wednessday my dudes and THESE SOUNDS AND STYLE ARE SO COOL
"Animal crossing but everything is falling apart". I so like to build all these messy stairs while listening to calm background music. You can't imagine how. And the idea is so simple that when you open a game you understand what to do after about a few seconds. the game feels so polished and good I don't know how to criticise it. Maybe add some levels and generic blocks, but will it be so balanced and enjoyable then? Who knows. How can I follow you to check updates if you continue on developing that game? I am you fan from the very that moment!
Okay I found how to criticise you. That wasn't easy at all, you know? I play from a laptop and don't have middle mouse button to pan camera!
Love that graphic. Game reminds me "You Have to Win the Game" and "DLC quest". Like!
Hey, may I ask you for a Mac version?
@litos, yah, it works. I really like your style. But turned out there is not much of content :( but anyway liked it
It was pretty fun, but I didn't understand what is going on at all. Was just clicking with food on everything and managed to get through the first day somehow. Also monsters got to the nearest corner and I didn't see them for last seconds
Oh, saw a [very similar game](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/49/unicycle-balancing) a while ago, you should check it. I laughed with the title, concept anyway good and corresponds to theme
so now I am hun.. Okay.. And I am running... well... looks fun! but some mini games aren't very obvious
Cool concept, but when I tried to build a tower with a foundation cubes were blowing up :(
Even broken dungeon should be a clean dungeon I guess...
Cool music and gameplay. And I found this style pretty fun and cool for a jam game
Don't understand what is going on and how to control game properly, but I like to be a ball
@casa-ocho. We forgot to illustrate it and scary to make changes after deadline, it is stated in the description :)
@publicidadeba glad to hear you liked our style! We wanted to make first level a simple tutorial, but development is so UNSTABLE so everything went out of control :( I guess you'd like to hear @13x666 made me remove salt mechanic from on-screen left button to keyboard's Q to make it easier
@spawnie there is a bug we will fix soon with purple LED. If it's blinking press W, that should help
@Lawrence you don't do divine spaghetti usually. That's the difference!
@marc-grabow we wanted to make a tutorial level and pasta level supposed to be that level, but, as I said, development is quite UNSTABLE and everything went out of control
@vlandemart thanks for a review, nice to hear that! We have A GIANT BUNCH of sounds we didn't have time to add and that's really sad :(
@erlionie I still want to add level where you have to hold Q and M while pressing F, but people say I am crazy. They think I don't know...
Thanks for a review, pray God to connect with us and add your piano to our game, we will be looking forward to it!
------------------------- /me looked into your portfolio
Ой, мы с Юрой весь день обсуждаем какой там у вас крутой концепт. Прямо ух!! Хотим релиз игры
@spawnie @casa-ocho we published a bug fix for the second task, maybe now it will work
@thunderkerrigan actually we started on Sunday bcs of my university :)
@gdman actually we had more tasks in that level but timeeeeee Снимок экрана 2021-10-06 в 16.57.21.png
@muros divine protocol wasn't made by a human being to be easy, it was made to practice it as a holy truth, so it's pretty normal
@sakura-magika thanks for feedback. The situation with our games are really fun, yeah.
About feedback: we had a whole bunch of sounds to add, our audio-designer was very kind to give all of them to us. BUT the problem is with time. We started developing only on Sunday and the second level we added in last like SECONDS before the deadline.And only half of it, bcs timmeeeeeeee. But we are going to polish game and publish it I guess, so the feedback sounds are only the matter of, again, time!
The learning curve... The thing is.. Pasta level supposed to be a tutorial level with like one or two tasks to manage, because you are a junior afterlife worker, right? But Ludum driven development (LDD) is very UNSTABLE and by the time we finished with engine of game we thought we have time only for a single level. The second one was added in the last hour or two. So we had to make something more than simply tutorial and here we are
Again, thank you for your feedback!
@japayne yeah, you could read about situation with the second level the comment before your... TLDR: it's half-finished due time limitations. Thank you for your feedback!
@simon-rahnasto thank you for your kind words!
You can follow up me on itch.io Ihttp://yogurtthehorse.itch.io) or @13x666 on twitter (http://twitter.com/13x666) and check for news. I guess we will have several updates :)
@xpoho марсоходом конечно же сложнее, ведь для этого нужно получить много разрешений и пройти кучу тренировок, а лапшу любой дурак делает. Логично же?
@ardorugus the book is like literally on the table. Check it out!
@ardorugus that would be another game, I guess :)
Like the idea, makes me remember old-style roguelikes. But see some small problems: arrows won't disappear after restart, frogs (are these frogs?...) can move through things, and game doesn't make you use collectables much
But anyway, that was quite enjoyable game, I did like it
So.... All this week I was like "maaaan, I can't feel how to play my game and experience all that spectrum of feelings 'cuz I know how to play by heart", but you guys literally gave me my own experience with a way better learning curve than we did, thank you! I only don't like these strange music I get when I tap buttons, but MAYBE the problem is that I do to wrong, I need to figure out it, still. And this Plip-plops so cutie. Would love to see a pillow with them
Outstanding I may say. Simply brilliant. And now I want this to became multiplayer
Interesting idea, but hard to understand what colours should I mix, bcs game just says that color isn't right, but I can't see how exactly it's not right :(
beatiful game, but it took me a while to understand that i can't control inside a game
Liked your game. Easy to play, hard to master. Good implementation! Maybe you should release it as mobile game?
This game changed my life, I am moving to Nepal to meditate. Very good, such innovation, pretty unstable
Oh, I like sound design so much. I mean... It just cool. I like music, sounds and it makes game more enjoyable. Really liked game. Btw. Is hot fun european water from France?
Great idea for a such theme. It took me a few minutes to understand the game is endless x)
Maybe info about double jump and collectables should be in instructions :) Fine graphics and music. Pretty polished game
Beautiful game, but it's very hard to click on a kid instead of environment. Crying sound is goood, was it recorded by your programmer?
so I'd say I just played windows xp themed bizarre anime cat. And I absolutely liked it! I mean flying with a gun shoots was so cooool. And then everything started blowing up! And then 420 bullets and then!! then!! Then I was dead.. But the very moment before it was so great!
so now I am feeling like I am not a game developer, but a 13 years boy who just downloaded unity... just amazing
the moment I dropped a few eggs and mum checken swored I laughed. Really cute graphics and idea. The only problem is with a bit unnatural controlling, but I can get used to it
TAKE BACK WHAT’S YOURS
+1 no download link
Nice graphics, the game looks very polished. Laughed on the part about "he's cute, but...". Liked all these random effects and fun things, but I didn't feel game very challenging. Overall it was pretty entertaining
Okay. I came here after @13x666 and first of all I was very tired today, but when I saw your style I immediately started playing. And this is the very cool example of how cool game can be made with very limited resources. And still it can be beautiful, fun and entertaining. The one you've done. And I really like every part of your game. I hope you will start rating other people games (you can start with our, for instance, haha) and get ratings from other to be nominated after rating time ends
good luck to you, hope hear about you after some time in a while!
This game brakes my fingers and my brain, oh god
We did something similar in the very core concept on 49 LD, but that's a whole new level. really good one!
I wish there were a worker that collects everything they drop
Very satisfying gameplay, one of the best entries I've seen so far, 5/5
Very fun game, besides the fact collision boxes are kinda broken and you need to get used to them :)
Gooys, do you have a version for Mac/HTML? I really wish to play that, but can't :(
@tricky-fat-cat if it's not a big problem I would really appreciate it!
Creatures are cute and adorable, but the gameplay is close to "missing" :(
Cute and nice short game. Animation of guardian in the background is stunning
It was super fun, especially sfx :D
Nice art-style, especially in 3d levels. I would quote @aquanim and say "This game is certainly an experience", can't say anything besides that
How could you done such a good game in 2 days?!
I guess one of the best entry in the jam
Tutorial area is simply genius. Core gameplay is also engaging and interesting. Liked that entry :)
Very polished game that's pleasant to play :)
Nice intro screen with retro vibes, hehe
Good game with amazing sound, though timer feels like "eh, we need to make 10 seconds game" :(
Made me remember old times playing TeeWorlds :)
Definetely 5 out of 5, has nothing bad to say
Nice mini-games collections :)
Feels like our previous entries to LD when we were making games filled with mini-games x)
<3
Very cute game with nice art-style
Game is very lagging when embedded on my m1 mac :(
Whoa!
Very satisfying game. Wish there were more types of units and mb it needs a bit of balancing, but as for jam entry it's super cool
Very nice graphics. Sad you didn't have time for enemies, would make game instantly more fun
Nice meditative game. If I had the strength, I would make a bot to autoplay it and see how many points I can get :D
@keip we wanted to make game for a bit skilled players and with progressing feeling. I guess "few hours" means we did it well :)
@lancival thank you! I guess, some games are harder than others and it's fine. Overall most important that you liked the game
@ch33sybacon that's a super cool idea! but I guess it won't be fair to add it after submission :(
Well. After all that's only a prototype x)
@backwardscap thank you <3
@fstleo thank you!
@cambryx hey-hey! Really cool you liked our game so much. And thank you for your feedback! It's so pleasant to see people like our games so much :)
@tao-yuanyue thank you! I think UX still needs a lot of polishing, but goof if you liked :)
We hadn't time to make it super clear so ended up with those screens
@simba thank you! Yeah, blocks sometimes are hard to distinguish, indeed. I guess if we had more time we would fix it, heh (and add more beautiful animations!!!)
@otterfaelure thank you for kind words <3
@jrevel sometimes it may happen that you "undash" in the middle of something and lose, and we didn't have time to fix it properly :(
Maybe today or tomorrow we would make a fix, not sure
Thank you for your feedback!
@joedev thanks! yeah, if you got too much turrets it means you got to 4th phase which is the last one :) Thank you for playing!
@madr thank you! 3d art-style of your Foody the Robot is actually good!
@0x-void-x0 yeah we didn't make it easy to understand what to do in the beginning :(
@david-hampson thank you!
@mikoziq hey! Thank you! Have you played in fullscreen? It maybe clunky a bit, but not for 2-3 tiles, this is definitely a bug
Hey @erlioniel, nice to see you there! Yeah, we did a game that need instructions and manual once again. But objective was in the intro, description and screen after intro - destroy pyramid. Also there was a mini-goal in the right bottom corner x)
I hope next jam we make something easier, heh
@vivifx hey-ho! Thank you, hope your angel won't exterminate our little snake, heh
Thank you for your feedback, glad to hear you liked it! (But can you say what "larger pixel" is?...)
@xenoparticle hey! Thank you!
Yeah, bugs with gameloop happen time to time, unfortunately :(
@cookie-chr thank you!
@elmos-minion @defilerzero thank you for your feedback <3
@nyxkn thank you for your feedback. Not an easy one, indeed! But that's intended (besides frustrating with dashing at the beginning, that's not intended)
Small advice - you can dash through turrets :)
@tetrapteryx thanks! Great to know you liked game so much!
@sliphtrex thank you! Drop a comment if you dont get over the last one and I tell you how much of them :)
Hmmm.. We dont know how to replace the head instead of tail. What do you mean?
UPD: Oh I see. Yes. That's the whole idea ;)
Congrats!
@kuboxxxxx thank you for feedback :)
@sliphtrex yeah, that's all intended :)
@moebiusmeow hey! Thank you for such detailed feedback :3
Actually you can turn around without dash by pressing very fast some 90 degree direction and than immidiantly 180 :)
@phillip-scott thank you for playing!
Respawn mechanic is a bit confusing, but then I figured out how it works and game become much more interesting. Lack of sound really makes game not as comfortable as it could be with such amazing art and idea :(
Very nice use of theme, like it
Didn't get at the beginning how "shop" and "inventory" parts are working, so it was a bit frustrating
Wish sounds were more ironic, like made with own mouth. Guess it would be more fun then :D
Such a smooth gameplay. At first I didn't realize what to do, but after a few tries (and SEC sanctions...) i found game very funny :D
Gifs look amazing, but plant simply wont growing. I really wish to play it, but can't :(
Also there are errors in console: webbuild3.framework.js:3 ArgumentOutOfRangeException: Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection. Parameter name: index
Very nice graphics. A bit struggled in the beginning because couldn't figure out how to play. Music is also feels good :)
Nice concept. I was arguing with friend yesterday that you can't create good platform where environment changes every 10 seconds, but you've made me think you can. Nice combination of time skip mechanic with level design and the hole idea of different worlds
I only wish for non-shader version, 'cuz too much of them for me :)
Level design puts you in frustrating position often. Like when you need to go out of the second level, a monster chases you and another monster comes out of nowhere unexpectedly
Nice graphics, made me play it instantly. And these leegs. So cool!
But didn't find a good fit for the theme
Very nice and addictive entry. Enjoyed playing it, and liked the difficulty curve :)
Hey! Very nice cute game. Very liked it simple concept and good implementation :)
This game in gameplay looks very simillar to our game x)
Though, it's a bit hard to understand what's going on (probably, bcs it wasnt created by us :DD ) and sad you hadnt time to complete objectives featrue :(
I really like those sound effects and simple art style :DD
Very beatiful art, though some antialiasing would make eye hurt a bit less x)
@jormarysky yeah, i totally understand, that's fine for ludum entry
Very bold way of understanding the theme. Like VERY :D
And very interesting way of modifying all those conveyor games like Factorio or Mindustry, very cool entry!
Also liked your ambient you posted on the main page (which made me wanna play the game), so you maybe would be interested in listening to our game empty space ambient :)
Game fills finished, that's very good :)
I also liked sound effects, though game felt a bit boring. Like i didn't feel that I have a reward for exploring and more valuable stuff wasn't there. I could simply swim to closest point of oysters spawn and get back, as random was mostly on my side
But anyway, the game felt nice
Wow. So good art-style. And those legs animations so smoooth. I really liked it :D
A nice cute game! I liked the idea of puzzling of your weapons and sound effects. They are nailed, actually. Only complain I can tell you is in effects. You have very cool pixel art, but all of these animations are kinda too much for such tiny pixels :)
(But that's very subjective, the game is still very cool)
Oh, so nice visuals. I can imagine how you tweaked everything to make game look so juicy and nice. Even though i understood what i need to do after a couple of minutes, i simply enjoyed running around
(maybe give tools by deafult would make game a bit less frustring though :D)
I really like screenshots, but can you make a mac or web build? :(
Very nice mini game with fancy visuals and audio, heh! Good job
Very nice and polished game. Remind me a bit our LD52 game Junkship (we also have a physics arcade where you harvest stuff balancing between amount and risks. Not exactly, but still!). I only think it a bit too easy. I woudl add some junk to get in the way that you also harvesy but dont get anything (but that may be professional deformation after that jam :DD)
Very cool entry!
Very nice polished game with stunning vcisuals
Maybe making procedural generation would make it even better :)
Finally, my Human Fall Flat, Totally Reliable Delivery service and Gang Beasts skills are paying off in Ludum Dare entries!
I really liekd the game it's like 5 fun out of fun, finally. Also it would sound strange if you open our game, but it reminds me your game, bcs it's too about harvesting things for money to the base :D
Really good entry, thank you!
What a nice experiment. But ask AI to make movement a bit easier x)
Very nice polished little game. I very enjoyed it
(but please, make it a bit quieter x) )
Okay, maybe I'm too tired after 72 hours, but I kinda can't figure out even the firrst puzzle. I would say I need a hint, but... kinda... I've got ir already?... havent i....
Coold idea, but controls are too harsh. At first i even though i have to control with keyboard, because i didnt notice I clicked on the screen and that's not a hint :D
Pretty polished game. I would only made AI a bit smarter maybe
It's very cool you got time to make a coop, though it felt not very cooperative. Like it was lacking a better interaction between players :(
@rincs thank you! And thank you for streaming game :)
Yeah, that's the idea of satelite. It's expensive but you either need to hook it from a distance and lose control, or to lose sime sight. But for that you get a great reward!
@vipaka Thank you!
@mcbombadev great that my effor is noticed
@klinsmannhengles it's a CRT shader, bloom effect, chromatic abbreviation and a few other small tweaks :) Great that you liked it so much
@lagerbe pleased to hear that <3
@piko the idea is that you get enough money to get a new ship when it's getting boring.So it's kinda a built in anti-boring system, I guess :D
@tricky-fat-cat hey! Those are very classical controls. The reason it's like that is because we decided to make hook shout only forward and that's how it was all compiled in single feature :D
@wolkp thanks!
@tildecat thank you :3
@ditam thanks for such detailed feedback! I really think that when you switch ship, you would get an answer for your thoughts about ship movements ;)
@tricky-fat-cat that sounds strange for me a bit. Obviously in complete game user can decide on its own how they like, but the idea that you use mouse just for buttons sounds very strange for me...
But yeah, 60% kb are bad for arrows, that i can understand x)
@tricky-fat-cat I mean, yeah. But that's kinda not one of them :D
@bobbo great to know you liked. The problem with reset button is very strange... You are the first one reporting such problem
@kosmi thank you for playing and feedback!
@marcus-otterstrom, thank you for such detailed feedback (is that the longest comment we have?)
Yeah, balancing is what we need to make a better game, but it's only 72 hours unfortunately :(
@cannibalgirl wow! Thank you! So cool you liked it!
Small ship is a risky one, and while it can go to small holes, it's an easy target for blackholes (I mean, they are holes too, so...) :) While big ship is very hard to control it can simply ignore blackholes, has superiour hook and is an ultimate rescue machine
About EDIT section: God, finally someone gets it!!!
@whalejam Thank you! If we gonna continue, we defenetily would upgrade hooks and more control to them :)
@stevepixelface thank you!
@zsharpfire Thank you! hmmm.. is it so bad? Everyone liked it :(
@zungryware yeah, it's meant that you can finish game faster, but if you want to continue, you can still paly it and solve other puzzles. But if it's enough, than you don't have to. Enjoy as musch as you want to! And yeah, Metroidvania wibes are intended, hehe. This is our progression :)
@d3kryption I've answered that before - it’s a CRT shader, bloom effect, chromatic abbreviation and a few other small tweaks :)
I wouldn't call that an issue though, this is how physics and balance work :DD
Thank you!
@icxon thank you! Oh god a 40 minutes let's paly. Do we now have an official first let's play about our tiny game? Cooool!
Кстати, привет заснеженному Петербургу!
@ani thank you <3
@jakubbala thank you!
@chanjohann thank you! Yeah, game made in such way that you can win easily, but for rhose who want more there is a whole level to play, if they are completionists. So if you didn't want to get more - no one gonna blame you, play as much as you like
@diesdas thanks! Nope, no such ship, though the small one is very fast (good luck not crashing it every 3 seconds, though :D)
@fromage that’s not about speed, it’s about distance x)
@yx0884 hey, thank you :)
@jumpirate thank you! Well, it's a skill game, so it's the idea of the genre. Such control makes you improve your skill and generates unique situations if you make mistakes :) There are also a two other ships with different movement properties, so if you continue playing you would be able to change that aspect!
@justin-c arrows is not a bug, but a very reasonable design of UX, so it cannot be fixed by rules of LD. The idea of such choice comes from the fact you don't use mouse in that game. Making people use it ONLY for two buttons seems a bit strange, because you would instinctively try to shoot to the position of the pointer, which only would make you confused (and we don't shoot to poinеer position also for reason)
More over ZX(C)-Arrows is a very classical scheme for 2d games that dont use mouse. Spelunky, Celeste and a lot more use it. A long while ago it was mostly Shift-Control-Arrows (like in classical DOOM), but things moved to ZX after some time. The reason it changed to WASD is that games started to use mouse with your right arm, so bindings had to move to the left part of the keyboard
There also was an option to make WASD + E + Q, but that would be a terrible UX from ergonomics view, bcs you would control the whole game with single arm, which 1) makes it weird for second arm 2) makes you do a lot of different actions in the same time with single arm which is simply harder than making it in parallel with two arms
So, this control scheme is pretty classical and have good reasons. If there was more time, we would obviously made rebindable layout, so everyone could be happy, but this is it, unfortuantely. You should be able to play without crosing your hands, though, without any problems :)
@thesmellofoxygen thank you! Alas, not much time for cool sfx. Otherwise there would be much more interesting effects around :)
@jormarysky thank you! Just saying, if you want to be more of a wall-e, check out LD50 entry :DD
https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/50/too-cute-for-space-fights
@jormarysky that's more of a coincidance :D
@oiluuuj hey! First of all, thank you. There are some navigational arrows around your ship, that should help you navigate. Or what exact problem you are facing?
(a bit busy for last few days, but still trying to answer everyone if I have anything to say)
@binaryprinciple thanks! Your feedback is very subjective. Like, we understand that not everyone like current movement style, but a lot also like. So it's a stumbling block, kinda. Still figuring out how it could be done in a way everone likes
@kikiriki367 thank you! We already tried to make it more economical friendly, but ballancing in ludum games in something we still need to master even after 4 jams, apparently
@chompdev thanks for your feedback <3
@amarokczukay thanks! Well. Everyone can choice their own way of palying. I personally like more fast and risky type of gameplay :)
@andy-link oh. We really tried to point on the fact you can hook as much as you wish, but seems like without some kind of tutorial it's just not possible to make easy-readable. Though, as you found out that small secret we are really pleased you liked the game!
@pedro-d-almeida wow! Thanks for so much of love to our little entry <3 I would try to get to your entry when I stop being busy with IRL activities :(
Hey!
Indeed, as one of your team wrote to us, this is very much like our game (well, not much points for innovation we are waiting for :D). I can say, that you are having a better game goal, like nobody running in the wastelands for no reasons, though restarting everytime from the beginning is very annoying
GIFs look stunning, but on my Mac it won't run correctly – game starts generate a lot of graphical artifacts :(
@moonblast hey! Thank you! Why you found it strange?
@yizao thanks, we also couldn't believe we made it! Camera shakes... Oh it's some explosions going around from other carriers, don't worry much, they are not very smart employees and don't look what's under their wheels <3
@drestin good you liked it! For those who lost we have Map on Tab and for those who want better gun we have shop in each city ;)
@quanta-studios thank you for so much kind words <3 Well.. It's a post-apocalyptic desert, nobody said it would be easy!
@thunderchief thank you! Well.. balancing open world game made in 3 days is a bit hard, sorry for that :(
@sid37 thank you <3
@fluffy-kaeloky thank you! Yeah getting THAT far this time was very hard (especially for me as a solo programmer and "put this stuff in Unity" guy on the team), but I think it was totally worth. Just looked at your Jam. Definitely would give it a try tomorrow when wake up. Looks stunnic! We also wanted to add a hook to the game, especially as we had one in previous jam and have some experience, but you know.. Time isn't endless in the Jams :D
@bloodyaugust but we did! Thank you <3 Somehow we did, still can't believe in that. Also, we have a footage of me building level in the last few hours: https://youtu.be/faRdhmmuzYM
@advarsky thank you. About amount of aggressive drivers.. Piece was never an option they say, huh?
@jomoho ah yeah, sweet post jam redesign and steam release with proper balance and stuff around... Maybe someday, who knows! Thank you for playing, anyway, hope you still liked it!
@erlioniel thank you! Great to hear that from you as I'm a bit of a fanboy of yours, hehe!
@fidrik thank you!
@sherwin-claridge thank you! We even have this icon, it's a bug it doesn't show up. I hope to fix this after getting a proper sleep :<
@nicole-a just @rjdrag thank you! About getting cargo: stay in the white circle, it would show you a menu. Had no time to make it more obvious, unfortunately, though I'm hoping other stuff we made kinda compensates it. At least a bit :(
@arthur-sorignet-gautrot great to hear our games makes someone fun, thank you!
@darwyn thank you! If only we had time... Our sound designer lost his PC in the middle of the Jam and had to fully reinstall his Windows, so we missing some of the SFX (yes, we could make more!)
@space-games thank you. Let's see how well we would keep it up next Jam (feel free to follow me and other devs of the entry ;) )
@attala thanks! Really satisfying comment <3
@kongo thank you!
@vidu thanks! Well.. who needs a healthcare if you lose some doors and bumper, yeah? (Well most people, actually, we hadn't time for that :( )
@peterfiftyfour @no-grapes-games thank you, guys!
OOOH. I answered everyone (at least, I hope so). Thank you all for playing guys, this means a lot!
@the1 thank you! We have so much of minor idea but like.. time :D
@smeljey yeah, Vangers were mentioned on the prototyping phase :D thank you <3
@smeljey @the1 don't think we would make many postjam updates besides fixes as half of our team now working on previous jam entry rework to release to steam. If you are interested you may follow us here, we would certainly post something about that here
@grizeldi thank you!
@amolker thank you! Yeah, it was in our references, hehe :) We aren't planning post jam updates besides bug fixes, though we would definitely continue jamming, so follow us for future games!
@badcop thank you for streaming, that was very nice! Sorry for sound glitches, native builds are fine, yes :(
@ruruie thanks for playing. I hope this experience didn't brake all the fun :(
@maximbegunov thank you for such constructive feedback. Seems like aiming was broken a bit and we fixed some issues with it a while ago. Also you can dismount cargo and freely enjoy your death fight before getting back to work
@momo-hunter thx <3 Interesting idea for camera, sounds very cool, maybe we will use it another jam :)
@badpiggy thank you!
@elysiagriffin thank you for playing and streaming and good luck to you, too <3
@chrissx2 hey, thank you! I've just wrote a small post about that :)
https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/53/wasteland-express-1/some-wasteland-express-promo
@emmelinee thx <3
@krummja audio doesn't work even in native version? :( SFX in our game feels so good, so I strongly recommend you to try native downloads, if issue was in Web version
@martinboue all floors, walls and roads in our game made with this https://docs.unity3d.com/Packages/com.unity.2d.spriteshape@10.0/manual/index.html
@amunonra thank you for playing!
Well, not all other cars are enemies. A lot of cars just passing by and won't touch if you don't touch them. Especially those who spawn at the city points, so maybe you just needed to be a bit more peaceful :)
Unfortunately, we didn't have time for restoring your weapon after death (it's a Jam after all), but when you purchased some weapon once, you can take it for free – in the menu button changes text from "Buy" to "Take" to make it a bit more obvious (though it still very frustrating, I understand)
@amunonra sorry for bad first experience. As i said we really ran out of time… but it’s good you liked it in the end <3
Well. Following you since Last Bargain and seems like for a reason. Another great Jam title with great aesthetics and polished gameplay, very like it!
Hey! Seems like you are having the same name of game as we are :D
Despite your variation on that name lucks of shooting, you made a quite fun management game! Liked it
Very nice idea, though UI (like hiding some stuff behind execution bar) and some mechanics were very contra-intuitive :(
Very addictive mechanics. Only thing I miss is volume control. (And understanding how to play it good)
Cheers to Guzman
Nice art. Wanted to play it, but browser simply crushes on game start. And no build for Mac OS :(
@furano would be waiting!
@furano wait but why do you need to sign it.. Everyone shares unsigned apps, you just press "Okay, I really want to open this" and that's all...
@furano yeah that's totally fine. Mac OS is not a jail, as most people think. It's just Unix :)
@furano still crashes and probably with same error :(
You can find log here if you're interested: https://gist.github.com/YogurtTheHorse/8f182f784983de65ad4ac59034b6e811
But I guess it's too much of work for some random guy as me, so it's fine! But if you want to investigate you may be want to move this conversation to some other place. In that case I have discord account: yogurtthehorse
Nice art style and music, but game loop is becoming boring after a while. I don't feel like there is a strategy you can develop and follow. Because of that for me game was about walking in circles, holding right and pressing left button occasionally
The fact you can suck your enemies is a nice touch. I feel like if game was a bit more hard and level wasn't just a box, it could be may be a bit more interesting, but overall it's a very nice and polished game :)
Nice and polished game. It took me a while to recall I actually have a working day today and stop playing :)
Very nice graphics and smooth game overall. Only one thing that bothered me is jittering but may be it's just godot on web issue (unfortunately, no build for Mac)
@burrowbling wow! That's a solid statement, haha! Thanks!
@yndajas can you show what number are you talking about? We are not sure :(
@yndajas oof. Thanks. We will fix it soon. Timer width is too small
@vafer hey! Thanks. It's weird you stuck. You can't move with any of your parts?
@aerial haha, Good you liked it!
Hey @guzman seems like you have leaderboard to burn
@aerial we just wanna know how
@amolker fair! Well on some level with railroad roads are not connected by default, so level does not start by default
And secondary flags mechanic was too frustrating. At first I thought it's some kind of pause, but then I realized it's middle point for car path. Took more time than it should be imho
Great idea, but feels like game is a bit buggy. When I restart first island I can have first 3 coins or I can receive none of them. And it's just random, so it took a lot of time to understand, what's going on because of that :(
@happygamer500 MBP14 M2, Google Chrome
@happygamer500 sure! Here is a footage: http://ygrt.ru/towers.mov
I restart game and Gold counter just puts random 3 or 0
Nice. (I am too tired for better feedback, but I just want to let you know that I really enjoyed your game. Only issue I could say from first glance that character movement is a bit vague but may this is something inevitable with your gameplay). Cool entry.
666
I would be honest. I am embarrassed how good you nailed this game mechanic in comparsion with our game. It is so satisfying and so natural to play. Even those "triangle to play" and "rectangle to restart". Top notch, really
Hey! Congrats on making it to 7th place :)
@markais well you did a good job. Totally deserve it :)
Hello
Another entry where I am like "You can't make a game out of that" in the beginning but after few levels life reminfs me I am not the best game designer in the world. Fantastic utilization of mechanic
All the best, berg
It is: 1. Dead simple 2. As much simple it is it's also addicting
@spica hey! Thanks! Writing gestures take some time to master unfortunately. We tried to make it better, but that's what we have. Gestures actually have hidden patterns which are flipped, so left-handed writing should not be a problem. But yeah, it takes time :(
Guess, 3 days was not enough for us...
@spica in our its both square and circle ;)
Just to be sure
@snory we used an asset for that, but a basic explanation is done in comments here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/55/glyph-tower/wizzards-gonna-strike
There are also some other solutions for that problem :)
I would probably make a post about that as many people ask about that
@tevasliutauras yes. After 10 iirc your elements start to get replaced by new one
@smidgens
> Reminds me a lot of Magicka, except I didn’t explode myself 90% of the time
We are sorry for that. We would consider adding occasional self-explosions to post jam updates
@sodoj we have full screen option on itch, just press button in the bottom right :)
Hey! Game looks nice but is there any way to get a Mac build? 👉👈
The concept is simple and extremely good :D Just perfect for jam. Not much to add honestly
Nice and simple idea (which does not mean it's hard to come up with such)
I believe it can be published to mobile games if graphics were improved :D
I like mechanic of units navigation. Really something unique. Lack a bit of a tutorial because (at least for me) it's not super intuitive, but it may be just me, you know
I like the gameplay but (here goes may a bit too harsh part) visuals look inconsistent. Pixel size varies from place to place which is not very good for pixel art style. You have stunning "cutscenes" art and logo but not much of a juice in game
Again, I am saying all that as a feedback and not an attack. Overall considering it's a jam game - it's good :)
Could not figure out how to solve the game... I will assume I am pretty dumb so does not really matter
But! The visuals just on other level. I don't know where you found so many gnomes but I like each of them. I mean it.
Hey! Teammate of @13x666 here (and also blue sky follower, haha). Only can say that he wrote everything correctly :D
Cozy and relaxing, but I think such games require much more interactions with elements or between them. So creatures could eat grass may be or hide from the sun under rocks. All those small things that usually make cozy games cozy
Visuals a pretty good and well-made. Gameplay feels just a bit out of "getting into flow" that you get in good Spider-man games when you just fly all over the place. But may be I just need to put more time into it. Also reminds me about old good days playing Teeworlds :D
Great entry!
Overall I liked the idea inside (damn, writing AI for the game couldn't be anything but fun!) but I did not understand how to... win? Like the idea of the gameplay
Also dragging instead of clicking in menu with vehicle parts is not very convenient :)
Very nice art (please, add web\mac os build, had to play it via emulator) and a very promising entry for a one-man team. Lacks a bit of introduction of what's going on and some tutorial around, but I get it – it's game jam. No questions :)
~~But I just wanted to burn 'em all why they killed me D:~~
Nice game with good pacing, but I feel that I don't have much of a control over situation. Like do my actions actually can stop them at least a bit? If so I don't feel it :(
@alxje it's not about its inevitableness (is there such word?) it's about that I as a player cannot even postpone it a bit to make may be a leaderboard. It feels my actions have almost no effect on the game
@alxje yeah, that's totally understandable. It's a jam after all. Not steam release :D
I am just pointing out what could be better but not saying it should be already
Perfect visuals and simple idea (not extremely innovative but sometimes we are here and not for that)
Also, wonder who were those creatures who were always messing around to stop us from saying truth about fictional characters
P.S. as nitpick - music was not looped perfectly :D
@gametrodon hey! Thanks for playing! Can you show how it looks like? May be it's just a symbol itself :D
@gametrodon very odd. But I assume if you play in fullscreen it looks fine?
[deleted]
@fishmasterino hey! Thanks for playing
Everything is 2D graphics, tho our artist, @13x666 does his magic ✨✨✨ somehow and it works (honestly, he tried to explain to me how it works and I just didn't understand half of the words)
We usually were making hard to play games and people were reacting "off, did not understand how to play", so this time we made it more casual. People still fail it occasionally but usually they can solve it in the next run. For those who want hardcore gameplay – we added leaderboards. Try to beat them :D
So, yeah, we of course could make it harder and a bit less repetitive but decided to let more people play it without any issues. I've also wanted to add endless and harder mode, but could not find time for that. So maybe post-jam version would have it
[deleted]
Anyway, I hope it was not too boring for you and you enjoyed the game!
@iven thanks for feedback and such kind words! Symbols mean symbols :)
@enderswype there is a finite amount of tasks and even a leaderboard. I am not sure we actually have 20 tasks :D
And also there is a "progress" of game in round window in the top bottom of your head
@teamofey-izorsky thanks! Told you already in Discord that you just need to click on that "gray" thing to unfreeze the game :)
Hope you really liked it
@kuviman thanks for playing and streaming! Will tell you if you fell down on leaderboards :D
@game-dynasty thanks! "Remembering where everything is" is part of the gameplay and learning curve so it's something we planned :D
For those who want more hardcore - try beat leaderboard
@sutt00 we had some ideas how to make larger version of the game but we have a few other ludum games that we would more likely polish and make larger before getting to this one :D
Thanks for playing!
@laywelin sorry for your dogs! No, it does not affect the timer
@sbeif thanks! Actually in early concept of the game it had to be a giant robot walking around the city like in Team Tank (multiplied by Spaceteam and Lovers) but we dropped that idea early on as it would be a feature creep :)
@ember44 hey! Thanks for feedback. Yeah, not the best gameplay we made for sure :D
But actually, if you look into message under HELLO HUMANS on itch.io you can go into deciphering it ;) Some people already did it, so it's definitely possible. And we have some hidden controls and easter eggs but please don't tell anyone! (though, do not expect much, it's all very simple. In the end, it's a game made win 3 days, not much things to invest time into)
So, please, write back something if you found my hint useful!
@broheartttv you actually can. Some people did :)
See my comment above yours :)
@kerdelos hey! Thanks! Nice expectations roller coaster you had there :D
Yeah, gameplay could be more interesting and we already have some ideas for possible post-jam version. And yeah, we invested our efforts into something else and we even see people like gameplay and find it interesting enough. So may be a preference? (I myself also find it not so cool, although it's a bi-i-it deeper than you think from the first glance)
And sorry not to show you your score. I simply forgot to implement it :(
If you have submitted it, you can find it here: https://lb.yogurtthehor.se/api/v1/scores/55
Thanks for feedback!
@josep-valls thanks! May be you had to click on it so it could gain focus back and continue playing?
@joror actually if you learn images you would get exactly what you want :)
@acdia thanks! You got 65th place out of around 300 which is pretty nice considering it was hard! Congrats
Played it and only then read the post also. Totally get you and... Feel the game, honestly. Game looks nice, it gets inside and... I feel a bit lost in the end
Thank you for experience
My only complain - put text closer to screen center
This sis basically what we [tried to achieve](https://yogurtthehorse.itch.io/crowd) last GMTK. But we over scoped and failed. And here the real working concept with the same idea inside
I am a bit jealous now :D
Good entry, sad it's so short. Keep it up
Hey! itch.io page is not available :(
> This project encountered many difficulties during export and wasn’t able to run well in HTML before the deadline
Rules say bugs can be fixed after deadline. You just need to write what you updated :)
