Finished with a score of 0. I think i was missing some time to think before each level, a way to replay a level would have been cool. The idea is cool and i like the ending animation !

gonzo13 2023-01-09 10:12

@jonqs last level just a joke  Don't worry about score of 0 for this one.

verttixpertti 2023-01-09 12:38

I liked it but I think it could work better if instead of having to act fast you would just have to plan out the best route with time.

madr 2023-01-09 17:38

Good execution and use of the theme!

tevin 2023-01-09 17:45

Good game, but i wish i could change directions and dont have to wait for a move to finish.

wuppos 2023-01-09 20:44

This was some very interesting gameplay that I have not seen before :) I think I was not very good at the game though, because at every level it said 'try again next time' :( Except for the last level, but I guess that one does not count, haha

The mechanics were very clever. It was basically an exercise in quick thinking, as you had to make a decision fast before all the crops burnt away. That is something I really liked, because usually in puzzle games you have the time to think on the optimal solution. Here you definitely had not XD I definitely had a few levels were I was in analysis paralysis, which caused basically all of my crops to burn away. Sometimes I also misclicked, which is quite devistating as the tractor moves really slowly compared to the flames. Completely my mistake though :P

As you probably know, some sound and music would have done wonders. The art was very nice however! I especially liked the topdown tractor, which looked really good. The quick tutorial at the beginning was also very effective. Amazingly creative submission to the jam. Thanks a lot!

I like the graphics and use of theme, but dear lord it is difficult to be quick and precise with those clicks

memo2 2023-01-09 21:20

People have said it before but I wish we could change direction faster! Also I may be a bit dumb but i took me a little while to understand everything so I think instruction could be clearer? This is a pretty fun game tho! Good job!

zireael 2023-01-09 22:09

This game is great! I really enjoy the puzzle/action hybrid nature of having to pick where the truck goes and not change it until it finishes it's path.

cassowary 2023-01-09 22:21

It's a cool idea, but I wish the movement was faster and/or that I could change direction more easily. Often I'd kind of lock myself into a bad path and couldn't do anything to fix it. ;-; I think controlling the character with the arrow keys would've worked better.

But the idea of trying to create a sort of "firebreak" is very cool. I think with some more responsive gameplay this would actually make a quite interesting kind of frantic puzzle game. The level designs have some interesting explorations of the mechanics.

Also, you might consider having the level restart if you don't clear it, which would place more emphasis on trying to find a good solution, since as is the game just kind of moves forward no matter what you do.

gonzo13 2023-01-09 22:57

@cassowary @zireael @memo2 @holysparks @wuppos thanks guys for your response. I agree that restart the level was a good idea but I didn't have enough time for this. I hope you had fun with this LD version of the game

vigneshwar 2023-01-10 07:06

good harvest idea nut the firing speed is high compare to the vehicle.. Theme is nice

pikario 2023-01-10 20:31

Great idea ! But as the other comments, I had a difficult time understanding the optimal way of playing.

I saw the puzzle dimension, but the fire was too quick and overwhelming. My suggestion will be to start the fire only after the first click of the player, so they can take the time to see the field and the wind direction in order to make the first move. And also allow to override current destination.

But well done

gonzo13 2023-01-11 09:18

@pikario Thanks for feedback. Yep, this is good suggestion actually.

fullheartgames 2023-01-12 03:55

Very fun idea, love the puzzle aspect for sure. Definitely a very challenging game!

bezbiletnym 2023-01-12 13:02

Very interesting idea, but a little bit too fast for me

glaikunt 2023-01-12 21:20

Really cool game! I don't think I done that great  but the puzzle aspect is awesome. Great Job!

yogurtthehorse 2023-01-12 22:03

Coold idea, but controls are too harsh. At first i even though i have to control with keyboard, because i didnt notice I clicked on the screen and that's not a hint :D

metzkermeister 2023-01-13 14:37

Cool mechanic and great potential, the visuals are on point. I think procedurally generated levels would be a perfect fit for this game. In its current form though, the game isnt that much fun because it is too unforgiving, an option to retry a level right away would help a lot with that.

gonzo13 2023-01-13 15:30

@metzkermeister thanks for feedback bud! Yep, there is some issues in game mechanics. Wasn't enough time for polish ith.

sillyman987 2023-01-13 16:41

Wow this is a really neat idea! I love how you panic and try to save as much as you can, just to find out that it got around you at the last second! Only one thing I would add is a way to see where the fire is going to start, and maybe a 3 second delay to let you plan what you have to do.

gonzo13 2023-01-13 17:13

@sillyman987 thanks for feedback! I hope you had a fun with current version. I have several ideas for post LD version.
