Once i learned not to buy a random upgrade immideately when leveling up (since its the same button as shooting), it was a lot of fun. Sprites look great and the Mood really fits this jams theme. Only complaint i have is the crosshair feeling sticky when moving (I only tried the web version).
Looks and sounds great, sadly i kept getting stuck on growing wheat early on and had to restart.
I want to love this game but there are too many issues. The buildings shapes make them very akward to place, especially because you cannot place road crossings adjacent to each other. The pathfinding is aweful, Orbles wander around the entire town to get to their goal and carriers often refuse to pick up recourses while the attached buildings are starving. Orriors keep standing in front of their barracks, not moving out, while Puritans are almost at an Outpost. These things combined with multiple crashes made for quite a frustrating experience. I really wanted to love this game, i played for over an hour and almost beat it twice, just to have it freeze up (the last time just before getting the 3rd Orb). I love the Art, i love the idea and i did enjoy the game when it was working as intended, but sadly my experience was not a good one in the end.
What a fun idea, sadly the execution is lacking quite a bit. The big empty levels lead to WAT spamming on the way and it never became clear to me what can be interacted with. Sound design and and theme are great though!
Great game, really enjoyed it! Seems like i broke it though. Seed production stopped changing around the 1k Gatherer mark, didnt go up or down anymore. Since lategame production is quite dependant on Seeds through Hunters and Miners it stopped me from going further. Though i can still sustain any Production enough to continue playing forever.brokensun.png
@davide-rossetto I think the balance is good enough. Without bugs like mine it should play really well, though it kind of turns into an idle game with good optimization. ^^ If you intend to continue working on this gem of a game in the future, you should add a butcher to get meat from goats and grant less gold from Miners so Sifters still have a place.
Probably the funniest way to adapt the jams theme I've seen so far. Great game overall! I cant get past that damn bird though. :D
Looks like the website pooped itself again while i was posting a comment, and since i cant delete the extra ones I'm going to edit them to create a comment Sandwich.

Nice game! Sadly not very challenging once you stack enough turrets in front of the pantry.
Love the graphics and animations, gameplay is quite fun too. Though some kind of score or a timer which shows how long you've lasted would've increased the replayability quite a bit.
My only complaint is that there aren't more levels. :D
The mechanics are a bit confusing, especially with buildings not affecting districts which are placed after them. But I think there is potential here for a very nice puzzle game with multiple levels and preplaced districts. That aside, I really enjoyed playing (breaking) your Game, especially the 3D art.
What a great fit for the theme, really fun game! 58s highscore btw. ^^
Icreadibly well made! The mechanics work very well and difficulty ramps up nicely. Graphics are amazing and you hit the theme spot on. I would love play a longer game with this spellcasting mechanic. <3
Really fun Platformer. I especially liked the Art(-style). It's a bit weird that the first ability is much stronger than the second one, but apart from that, no complaints. Great game!
Thanks a lot everyone!
@jordan-pavlic If you run out of ammo you can still use your plane as a weapon. Ramming an enemy will destroy it, but also deal a lot of damage to you. Desperate times call for desperate measures.
@bodcodes thanks! I learned how to animate just for that. ^^ @roughskin definitely not intended. :D
@aflatthrasher we have updated the web version to include a Fullscreen button since our game didnt scale as expected.
@fireslash We sadly didnt have enough time to make the "AI" "smarter", we also used to not have a limit for how many enemies could be fighting the player at once and it made the game a bit too hard in our opinion. Would love to know you high score though, since noone i know has cracked the 5k mark yet, cheese or no cheese.
I sadly didnt get to finish the game because my drones kept getting stuck. Though I am quite impressed how polished this is considering the scale of the project. As an RTS player I have to say that the way the pixel graphics are being scaled really hurts the gameplay, at least unit selection indicators have to be properly visible at all times, ideally all info elements
Not sure how you achieved this level of polish in 3 days, so good job. The game looks amazing with great music and sound effects and it's fun on top. I found a small bug in the WebGL version; if you ring the bell before the logo has fully faded it will stay up until the game is restarted. Ofc there are a couple things that could be improved, like the raven AI, but overall this is one of the best entries ive played this year.
DONK! what a fun game, wish it had a leaderboard tho ;)
Very cute art and quite a fun game, managed almost 50k on my first try! The only thing i really missed was some indicator for when the player takes damage. Some of the underlying mechanics really remind me of our game for this jam, even tho they are pretty different ^^ Overall good job!
I really like the overall concept and physics based gameplay, but the current product is pretty rough around the edges. My main issues are that the dragon doesnt move like it's flying and the aim sensitivity being way too high, an option for that would be ideal. Overall still fun tho.
Simple, yet interestin, fun and quite hard. I really like ressource management games and while it took me a bit to figure out how the game works, since the **?** is cut off in the embed on the ldjam page, I had a lot of fun trying to improve my times.
Cool mechanic and great potential, the visuals are on point. I think procedurally generated levels would be a perfect fit for this game. In its current form though, the game isnt that much fun because it is too unforgiving, an option to retry a level right away would help a lot with that.
Really cool concept and impressive amount of content. Sadly the ship controls are a bit rough, might be good to slow everything down a bit to give the player some more control. Other than that gravitational pull and orbiting would be a really cool additions. Overall great job though!
Quite enjoyable, I like that players actually get to do something unlike in other idle/clicker games.
Glad you enjoyed it everyone! @pazzi the leaderboard was inspired by our friends Tiny Moon, who made the great BOMB OVER in LD50. Sadly they didnt participate this time around and the hosting for their leaderboards is currently not running. As for my highscore... ive already been dethroned by people who get up a lot earlier than me. ^^'
@chompdev you actually do not gain any score from hitting UFOs, they are only obstacles.
What an amazing game, i wonder how little you guys slept to achieve this level of polish in just three days. Also reminds me of the great anime "That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime" :D I havent played many other entries yet but I'm sure this will be one of my favourites this Jam.
Congrats on first place in the fun category!
basically a fever dream had no idea whats going on or what do to, but i was still somehow enjoying it.
Interesting take on the theme and quite a good job for a solo entry. I'm glad you took the time to add audio, there are entries with much better gameplay but its just no fun to play in silence.
I dont feel like it fits the theme super well, since the darkness only soft-limits your space, but thats about my only critique. It's a great game, has good graphics, nice audio and most importantly, it's fun to play.
Pretty cool game, but sadly I encountered some issues while playing. I couldnt buy anything in the first two shops and, like others have said, sometimes the puzzles are impossible. Overall good entry tho. EDIT: Didnt read the tutorial properly. I probably couldnt buy anthing bc i didnt have spare treasure. bit confusing ngl. Also in my opinion you shouldnt be over encumbered at 20/20 but at 21/20.
I dont 100% understand how the game works but it is nicely polished and generally feels good to play. Heres a bug for you to fix: I managed to stack multiple files on one chip by repeatedly dragging them onto each other (and still lost).Screenshot 2023-10-04 142259.png
It's a very cool concept for a tower defense game with limited space. Sadly it's hard to figure out what to do, not really possible to see whats damaged and the balance is all over the place. There is great potential here but this game needs some polish.
tfw you recieve null crew... Very well polished game, great music and visuals. Gamplay is really crips too, sadly it is too easy in its current state. The initial crew is enough to build a self sufficient economie and from that point on you simply reject any new crew and wait for victory.
@dod108 The first point is a good one, we simply didnt think of that. The background actually is fixed, but i assume you mean it should always have the same orientation. I wanted to have that, but couldnt get it to work and other things were more important. Though it might also make the game harder as you wouldnt be able notice curves as easily.
As for the finish line, @blue-pin-studio, at this point it mostly exists to mask the seam where the start and end of the track meet. We didnt find any good reason to include a reward for finished laps, but it still has to fulfill its main purpose. ^^'
Thanks for the feedback and kind words everyone. @kerdelos we do have a system for the camera to adjust depending on speed but we didnt have time to properly tune it, just like we didnt have time to set up a proper resolution. The inertia idea is cool, we might check that out.
It's a cute, good looking and well polished game but all it has going for it are its looks and the story. The gameplay is really basic and has very little to do with the theme. The fights are very easy, feel a bit out of place and not very well thought through. I sadly did not enjoy playing. I think a puzzle mechanic that actually made use of the limited space of each room wouldve elevated the gameplay. That being said, the art is amazing. It is what drew me in to play this entry and why i finished the run.
