LD44 — Your life is currency

BCoin - currency simulator by wdebowicz 2019-05-01T01:36:26Z

Nice one, Wojciech! This was a pretty inventive genre mashup. One of the more unique LD44 entries that I've had the chance to play so far, and that's definitely a good thing!

remnant. by screamrawr 2019-05-01T01:52:51Z

Impressive game! Love the atmospheric music, mysterious story, and character artwork. Also, that whip animation and sound effect is on point!

Fortress Knights by elrobo 2019-05-01T01:34:52Z

Cool ideas here! Took me a second to get the title :P I like the building/destruction mechanics and the combat was fun. I liked being able to destroy a tower to get to enemies that were out of range. Nice work, Chance!

GARUA by dietzribi 2019-05-03T00:46:46Z

This is a fun little Metroidvania, @dietzribi! It's impressively polished and smooth or a jam entry, and I really enjoyed playing through it. The upgrade system based on completing challenges was great, and I definitely liked being able to buy permanent skills with health.

The Final Rescue by mrjoshuamclean 2019-05-02T23:30:09Z

Really cool idea, @MrJoshuaMcLean! I really like the tension of navigating some tricky terrain while having a limited window to rescue each person as you fly over. The food supply steadily ticking down is also a great mechanic that keeps you engaged and constantly taking risks.

And that audio - wow! The unsettling and very cool soundtrack paired with the dire scenario nicely and added a lot to the overall mood.

This is your life now by reuno 2019-05-06T00:29:48Z

Love this game! This is a fantastic interpretation of the theme and a joy to experience. Great audio, graphics, story element, and overall mood.

Life Merchant by Webox 2019-05-05T21:13:25Z

This is a cool take on the "life as currency" theme. I like that life isn't a finite resource here, but something you can actually buy and sell to unlock different abilities. It might also be fun to experiment with time paradox puzzles where you can choose to revert to your younger self but in doing so will also change the world to an earlier state. Nice work on this one, Webox!

Fluffensnuff by Rongo Matane 2019-05-03T00:25:22Z

Very cool puzzle game! I'm working on level 6 and looking forward to playing more! The stealth/pouncing mechanic is a great idea and allows for some really satisfying solutions.

LIFEBLASTER by gwinnell 2019-05-03T01:07:18Z

This is a really enjoyable, bite-size shooter. Fun graphics, engaging music and gameplay, and no frills. I love it!

Soul Exchange by Dennis Jeong 2019-05-05T20:55:44Z

Just finished the game a minute ago - really fun! The spider movement is really well done and I love being able to swap to your old abilities even when you gain access to new ones. Really digging the platforming challenges, too!

Gather Drone by Vimlark 2019-05-03T00:01:56Z

Fun game, Vim! I really like the shared fuel pool idea, and being able to repair your drone while depositing fuel back at the ship is a nice touch. Well done!

An American Blood Clot in Techno Athens by Shuu 2019-05-01T02:14:01Z

Great music, fun gameplay, and deviously tricky puzzles! I'm sold.

Skeleton's Gamble by chompdev 2019-05-02T23:57:07Z

@wongkongphooey Thanks for the kind words! I'm really glad you enjoyed it. I wasn't sure that "arm and a leg" part would read properly, hah, so that's cool that you noticed it!

@sylvie Thank you! It would definitely be fun to add some harder levels later, and I hope I have time to expand the idea a bit.

@flashviper Ooh, I really like that idea. I was musing about letting the player detach an arm and throw it over a wall or across a gap to activate buttons. You're absolutely right that adding more trade-offs would really enrich the gameplay.

@benmcnelly Thanks very much! That's awesome that you made it to the end.

@kodiqi Much appreciated! I agree about the smaller levels and fast restarts; that definitely seemed to help the pacing. Would be fun to add some new mechanics and levels later for sure!

@alchemic Thanks for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed playing it. I totally agree on the platforming - there were definitely a few clunky areas that need tuning. Looking forward to polishing a few of these details when I have time.

@sir-shoe I appreciate you playing through it! Glad you found it fun :)

@mrjoshuamclean Thanks very much for the excellent feedback and the time you spent finishing the entire game on stream! You made some great suggestions for quality-of-life fixes and features that I'm looking forward to implementing soon. I'll be following your channel and recommending your LD44 content!

Skeleton's Gamble by chompdev 2019-05-05T20:25:15Z

@kivelocity Good recommendations! Adding unique animations for each body configuration would really add a lot of personality. Going point about the effects and particles too - the world definitely feels a bit static without some of that polish. Would love to add more features and fine-tuning soon. Thanks for the great feedback!

@rob-avery Thanks so much for the encouragement! Would love to take this idea further sometime :)

@jason-porritt Much appreciated! I've been working on how best to introduce new mechanics at a steady and interesting pace. Glad you had fun!

@maggardjosh Thank you!

@elrobo Great idea! Being able to choose which limb to trade at certain gates would add some really interesting choices. That would also be great for opening up alternate puzzle solutions and allowing the player to think outside the box.

@tony-li Thanks, Tony!

@miltonsilva Good feedback - thanks! I'm working on implementing some better scaling/fullscreen options that should solve that problem.

@joe-bustamante Thank you, Joe! That's great to hear that you liked the pacing and difficulty curve. The graphics could definitely use some love :) Thanks for playing through it - it'd be awesome to add some new levels and mechanics later on!

Soul Searching by Webow 2019-05-06T01:19:25Z

This is a really cool world you've created, Webow! This a neat divergence from the typical grim reaper theme and the give/take life mechanic is really interesting. Would love to see an updated version of this with more characters and more dialogue choices :)

bird food by kyavi 2019-05-01T02:30:38Z

Interesting take on Snake, Kyavi! This one was definitely fun to play through and the blade mechanic is a great idea. It could be fun to have another win condition on certain levels that rewards you for avoiding food, or maybe multiple blades that could only be used once each.

LD52 — Harvest

Soul Property: Who's Life is it Anyway? by Budaniel 2023-01-11T20:57:29Z

Finally, a game "where everything's made up and the points don't matter!" :)

Antimatter Farmer by unnamed1334 2023-01-22T01:07:22Z

I really like the concept here! The ability to walk around any side of the station (and even walk around/on top of the assembly machines) was really cool, and I can see some fun potential there if you decide to expand this game after the jam. The logical building rules were great, such as solar panels needing line of sight to the sun, and radiators needing open space to function properly.

I think I ran into a bug that prevented me from making voltaic resources (assembly machine ran out of power and stopped producing before it was able to create its first batch, which in turn prevented me from building any solar panels). However, I think you have a lot of cool ideas here and I'd love to see more of this one after the jam if you continue working on it. Nice job finishing the jam!

Harvester by Sublustris 2023-01-10T23:10:56Z

Great idea! It's like that old game Spin Doctor with (on?) mushrooms! I really like your pickups that shorten/lengthen the beam, and the simple but effective one-button gameplay. My top score is 64 but looking forward to topping that soon! Nice work on the artwork and sprite animation, too; it's really well done.

Agricultural Express by DeathBySnail 2023-01-16T06:07:46Z

Very cool idle game take on the theme! I love this idea of just traveling down an infinite path and managing your crops and animals as you watch the towns and countryside go by. If you happen to add more after the jam, I'd love to have more camera control (or even just a zoom) so I can see all my crops and animals at once. It would also be really fun to have some casual control over track-switching so you could route your train toward the next town that was paying the highest price for whatever resource you had more of. Great work on finishing a very relaxed game with a fun, unique setting! :) score54.PNG

Our Hill of Stars by limered 2023-01-12T00:38:43Z

Very fun and good puzzle difficulty curve! The little details are really nice, like different sound effects for each arrow change, the slowly grazing sheep, and the idling harvester sound in the background. The pixel art is really nice, and the tile flip animation too. Great job on all the puzzles and polish in such a short window!

Cereales Trading Simulator 2023 by sebbernery 2023-01-11T20:51:51Z

Wow, very cool idea! This is the only harvest trading game I've seen this jam, and it's really well-executed. The tutorial was phenomenal, letting the player have some freedom but also guiding them toward understanding all the relatively complex systems. I like how you restricted it to three resource types but still have a lot of interesting choices between contract timeframes and supply/demand curves. Great work all around!

H. R. Vest by mvasko2 2023-01-10T19:04:51Z

Great work on this one! I really liked the creepy atmosphere mixed with some dark humor and suspenseful music. The art was really nicely done and I enjoyed the pacing of the level slowly opening up as you defeat enemies and find new keys/codes/clues. The regenerating health and stamina was also nice, so you can fully recover after escaping an enemy and then get back to exploring and puzzle solving without worrying about healing up. Lots of fun ideas here! :)

abundance by Aurel300 2023-01-13T06:01:34Z

Such a cool little adventure game! Very impressive for a weekend jam. The lighting and interactivity with the vines is fantastic. The hidden secrets all over the place really encourages exploration and taking a close look at your surroundings. The opening credits at the beginning are such a nice touch, too. Reminds me of a Kojima game intro.

I really like having the hint text permanently displayed outside the playable area, too. Great idea having multiple save points around the more difficult energy beam areas, and the flickering "Warning" holograms posted periodically. A lot of these things are small details, but they add up to a really solid, polished game. Great work all around!

Harvest Bowl by NvrSkipGameDay 2023-01-11T21:12:05Z

Cool game idea! I got some great Sonic speed vibes from level 3 and 4. I really like being able to control the fox after you launch, and the graphics and tail animation are a great touch. I like how you don't necessarily need to go full speed all the time, but you have to go fast enough to make it over some specific ramps and jumps. Great work on your game!

Midday Garden by Dustyroom 2023-01-12T02:11:08Z

Wow, this is incredibly polished and has a beautiful minimalist art style! Love the mashup of Vampire Survivors and just a dash of Plants vs Zombies. The variety of upgrades is really fun, and the sound design is super chill and fun to listen to. I really like that the waves are time based, so even if you run out of ammo you can survive. The weapons are all pretty fun to use, and I like that you can spec one particular type without needing to have everything active. Excellent game idea and implementation!

score22.PNG

Late Harvest by khaotom 2023-01-12T04:43:31Z

Cool artwork! I love the hand-painted look and the character's scissor animation. The enemies are pretty tricky to avoid, but the ability to teleport to the other side of the map definitely helps. That's impressive that you finished the game in just a couple hours. Congrats on finishing!

Haunted Harvest 3 by smilewood 2023-01-10T00:21:05Z

Fun idea, and great work on the tutorial/exposition! I love this take on the Harvest theme, and it's pretty intense trying to sneak through the field and grab crops before the scarecrow discovers you. I love the "you got got by the scarecrow" gameover message, haha. Nice work on the jam! :)

Grow Golf by torcado 2023-01-09T23:59:47Z

I love this idea! This is so easy to pick up and play, and gets really fun as you perfect your strategy on subsequent runs. This is a fantastic example of being inspired by the theme and letting your imagination run wild. Very nicely done!

A Day in the Life of Death by DDRKirbyISQ 2023-01-16T00:13:59Z

This is very, very cool! I love the writing, and the art is top-notch. Alternating between dialogue and the different game loops really kept things fresh and fun the whole time. Sound effects and music is perfectly-suited for this game, too. Amazing work for a weekend jam!

Monster Harvester by Notaveerus 2023-01-15T07:18:21Z

Fun idea to create a simple IK project to learn from! The combat is fun enough for this initial version, and it kind of reminded me of fighting a Guardian in Breath of the Wild, where you can hack off individual limbs. Nice work completing the jam!

Martian Mind Hunter by tukisboolukis 2023-01-13T01:39:43Z

Just got to the end! That's a fun little RTS idea, and the stealth mechanics are a cool way to modify the normal RTS build/collect/wait formula. The abilities gained over time are a cool idea, and kind of remind me of the hero abilities in Warcraft 3 or something. Great work on adding so many cool features in a short jam! :)

score32.PNG

You Got Served! by beardywombat 2023-01-12T03:43:41Z

Neat idea! Cool graphics that contrast the muted foreground silhouette. Saving the townspeople from the smaller ships' tractor beams is fun. It's also really satisfying to bring down the motherships and see them burning in the background for the rest of the game. The player ship's design is cool. I also really like the stages of damage that each ship has, where they spew more and more flames until they finally explode and come crashing down. Great job on your game!

Grim Harvest by automatonvx 2023-01-12T06:18:46Z

Cool idea! I'm actually surprised I didn't see a few more games about graverobbing, but you really nailed the concept here. The character animation is fluid and the digging is tense and fun. The random item descriptions are a neat touch. The stealth is pretty fun, and I like how you can escape even after getting spotted. It also seems like you did a great job of preventing the enemies from boxing you in, so the difficulty always feels challenging but never unfair. Was I just lucky, or does the AI actually avoid closing the player off in a dead end? Great work on your game!

My Little Piece of Shelby by Roberto Romao 2023-01-15T00:15:52Z

Great work on completing a fun gameplay loop that you can build on after the jam! Being able to drive around town and deliver your crops is a simple idea, but actually really fun in practice. The plow/seed/water/harvest controls are fun, and I like the small details like the harvester attachment flipping around in front of you when it's being used.

Do you have plans to expand your game after the jam? I think you could do a lot with the driving/city mechanics where maybe you're delivering specific food to specific business/houses, and driving to other supply stores and upgrade shops to buy new tools, seed types, etc.

Feast of Gévaudan by hunttis 2023-01-11T23:15:13Z

Fun idea! I like the sort of fast-paced stealth you've designed here. Feels a bit like Assassin's Creed when you're tracking a target through the crowd and waiting until they move away from the guards. The animations are cool, too - especially have a separate run animation for every direction! I like how the character talks to themself to give the player hints and reminders about what to do. Great work recording a good variety of NPC voice lines, too. The pounce mechanic works well and is just powerful enough to take down a small group at a time, which is a fun challenge. Lots of work went into this one for a short jam - nice job!

Farm Island by Nikolaj 2023-01-13T05:09:54Z

Fun little harvester game with a nice leaderboard! I like that the driving takes some skill and precision, and you get a bit faster and smarter with your run each time. I can't seem to crack about 20th place on the leaderboard, but I'm impressed by those top scores!

Flee the Farmland by Chartle 2023-01-12T08:13:24Z

You've got a very cool little game here! I really like learning a new movement system for each critter, and having them all experience the same looming threat in different ways. The mouse level is adorable and I think you could probably make an entire game out of just building upon that mechanic. I really liked the bird swoop ability too.

If you add more features to the game later, it might be fun to play a low-stress first chapter of each animal's life, so you can get used to their movement mechanics, abilities, and nuances before ending up at the dangerous farm near the end of the game. Great work on this one - it's such a smart idea!

Flavors of Victory by Kyrio 2023-01-11T05:20:53Z

Excellent work on the art and music! The gameplay is solid and I really like the strategy of choosing the best ingredients but trying to have enough left over for the next round. There are a lot of cooking games out there, but yours feels unique with the chef-vs-chef competition and rock-paper-scissors rules. I also like how satisfying it feels to just grab food with the mouse and throw it in the pot. Very simple and intuitive. Great job on all of it!

Monkey Oolong Harvest Bop by PeachTreeOath 2023-01-13T05:43:08Z

This is a beautiful jam entry! The art and design is adorable, with great music and sfx to match. The gameplay is extremely solid and you can quickly and intuitively get the hang of things. Put simply: this game is just a joy to explore!

Body Harvesters by Justin_C 2023-01-12T20:59:29Z

I love this game! You've designed a very cool mixture of overlapping mechanics here, and they all work really well together. Using the building lighting to indicate good/danger/shielded status was great. All three defenses were fun to build and effective in different ways. I really liked being able to jetpack up into the night sky and pick off UFOs before they got to ground level. The choice to have a wide map so you can't quite see everything works really well and keeps the player moving and paying attention at all times.

The missile launchers that fire straight up before they start seeking is a really cool visual. Having different UFO types is great, and their animations are nicely done. Being able to upgrade cities to expand your population is really smart, and I think that'd be fun to lean into even more if you decide to expand the game later. Managing your HP, citizens, and cash all simultaneously is a lot of fun. So many good mechanics in one jam game - very impressively done!

New high score! Had to play through again :)

Scarecrow Attack by digitaldude555 2023-01-11T00:33:53Z

Pretty fun little concept here! The gameplay is clear and well implemented, and I really like the crow AI and unexpected dives they do. It definitely keeps things fun and interesting, and I survived to the ripe old age of 177 wheat. Great work on finishing the jam! :)

score7.PNG

CharacteRiser by alexhonor 2023-01-16T01:13:57Z

I didn't want it to end :) Genius idea! I love the absolutely bulletproof execution of a smart concept in such a clean and minimalist design. The shears are a very fun idea, and I love the steadily expanding, logical requirements for more valuable letters. Excellent job on the game design, from start to finish!

score46.PNG

The Gleaning Samurai by allov 2023-01-13T03:11:37Z

Enjoyable little farming/shooter hybrid! The upgrades are fun and substantial, the action feels polished, and you've got a good variety of enemies and bosses. The tile system that can be normal/fertilized/weeds is a cool, and it's fun to manage in the heat of battle.

Day 67 and about 10,000 weeds destroyed! :)

score34.PNG

Initial Harvester by profan 2023-01-11T06:00:49Z

Ooh, I like this one! It's hard to explain why it's so satisfying, but the controls, rotation, and harvesting collision are just really nicely done. I like that the rocks do a bit of damage but don't end your run immediately. Nice job on the little details, too, like the harvesting sound effect, tire tracks, and the wheat particles shooting out the back. Great work on your game!

score12.PNG

Harvest Puzzle Box by boldbigflank 2023-01-10T02:33:13Z

Great little puzzle game! I solved the numbers and ball pattern fairly quickly, but the notes and lines took me a while :) Challenging difficulty, and I really like how the plant-growing elements appeared after you solved each part. Fun to play through, and rewarding to reach the end. Nice work on this one. I'd actually love to see a full version of this, like a mix of The Room and Cloud Gardens!

Mountain of the Dragon Fruits by thomas-olsson 2023-01-15T00:01:29Z

Wow, this art style is so cool! The drifting clouds and bamboo swaying gently in the wind is really relaxing when you're thinking about your next move. The color palette is great too. Your tutorial level design is spot-on for teaching the player through practice instead of text, and I love that the objects are actually physically simulated when placed.

The animations and bonus gem objectives are excellent. It's also very smart to have a fruit requirement but not require all your guys to survive. I like that the levels allow you to be creative and solve the puzzle in different ways, with different numbers of survivors and with optional gems. There are so many good mechanics here, too, like the birds, the bridges of varying stability, and the spike pits. This is such a polished and well-made jam game. You should be very proud!

score38.PNG

Harvest Me, Harvest Me Not by outstar 2023-01-10T22:12:20Z

Excellent writing and art! I really had fun exploring this one, and I love the adventure game take on this theme. The multiple endings are a great idea, and I really enjoyed the bell system and having choices that significantly affect the ending. This game is seriously impressive for such a short timeframe. Great work! :)

Poppy Defense by tiptoe 2023-01-15T07:47:24Z

Amazingly polished TD game! I really had fun with this one, and both the plants and enemies seem nicely balanced. I like the ability to start with a wall of shrubs and then slowly replace it with more powerful plants. Nice upgrade system for every plant type, too. Great music, great sound effects, and the graphics are really nice. Very impressive work for a weekend jam!

score45.PNG

Fox Puppies Want Food For The Winter by Lerg 2023-01-11T05:12:17Z

Beautiful art! The isometric camera angle, bright graphics, nice music, and animation all works together really nicely. I really like being able to see your inventory (including when it's full) at all times. I love the little details like the baby foxes peeking out when you get close to home. Any plans to expand on this game after the jam?

Heroes, Please by Quoclon 2023-01-10T22:36:44Z

Cool idea, and great work on the character designs and animation! I like the concept of harvesting the best mages/fighters/bards/etc from your kingdom to protect you on your journey. I'd love to see more features added to this so it's more challenging to weed out assassins, and maybe you only have room for ten characters in your party so you need to carefully decide between who you've already selected and who else is waiting in the queue. It would also be really fun to have the rules change slightly based on the king's mood and current party, so maybe you'd need to reference the requirements every few turns and keep memorizing new details about it. Great work on getting this game finished!

River of Souls by nardandas 2023-01-11T23:27:39Z

Nice work, you guys! This one has a really nice mixture of art, gameplay, and audio design. I like the fact that you need to manage your vertical position or the recoil will knock you off the platform. The pixel art is excellent, and the dreamlike flowing water and cloud effect is excellent. The bridge destruction is a great idea and ratchets up the difficulty quickly if you miss a few bits of debris. I also like how sections of the bridge can be slightly damaged by small items, or destroyed completely by larger debris. The left/right mouse shoot/absorb mechanic is really intuitive and fun, too. Great work on your game!

score16.PNG

Euro Farm 2 by Enver Arco 2023-01-12T22:59:24Z

Fun game! The graphics are nice and it's enjoyable to steadily grow your farm and get the recurring cash from wool, milk, veggies, etc. I also like how the buildings themselves generate revenue over time. The ability to plant batches of 16 crops at a time is a great convenience feature. Do you have any plans to add more to this one after the jam? I'd enjoy playing more of it as you build on the mechanics and add some audio, juice, and polish. Nice work!

score28.PNG

Euro Farm 2 by Enver Arco 2023-01-12T23:48:03Z

@enver-arco I love those ideas! Did you play Forager? That game had a nice system for buying chunks of land as you make progress, and something like that might suit your farm game really well. Great idea to add dialogue choices and maybe even random events like "heavy rainstorm" or "harsh winter" that might require you to build shelter for all the animals or a greenhouse for exposed crops. Looking forward to seeing what you decide to add next! :)

Drillydown by Peter Jonsson 2023-01-15T01:40:45Z

Excellent puzzle game! You have a great variety of puzzle mechanics here, and an impressive number of levels for a jam weekend. Very nice work on the audio. The dynamite and snails are cool mechanics, and I like how the dynamite can be used to your advantage as well as being a risk to the drill, ore, and snails. The lighting/shadows and minimal aesthetic is very well done.

My total score after completing the final level is 521 moves! :) score40.PNG

Turtle Atoll by MaiMai 2023-01-13T20:52:22Z

Whoa, this is really charming and fun! It's kind of like the Waterworld version of Bad North. I'd love to see you expand this concept even more. If you add more features after the jam, it'd be fun to be able to add defenses to the turtle (like a barrier the hoomans can hide behind), range/damage upgrades, safe points to drop off some of your crew at the end of a chapter/area, and some more bosses that could require a certain level of upgrades or a certain crew loadout. Very nice work on doing all the code/visuals yourself!

score37.PNG

Death In Time by Yorsh 2023-01-14T19:25:55Z

Very fun idea! The sounds, music, and colors are crisp and vibrant. The top-down perspective and rotating camera is a fun way to explore the map and find targets hiding in certain areas behind buildings/trees. Cool mechanic to increase points as someone's life starts running out. It was cool to see that house on level 3 with a hatch in the roof you could drop down through - there's definitely some potential to do more of that in an expanded version and let the player find targets inside buildings and/or catch them unaware by dropping down through the ceiling. Great work on your game!

BEE A GOOD BEE: And Fetch Me Some Pollen by ahintoflime 2023-01-10T23:56:52Z

Great work on your first Unity game! It ended up pretty fun, and the simple game loop fits great with the calming music and nice difficulty curve. Nice artwork and subtle use of lighting/bloom. I also really like that you put a simple texture in the background so you can get a sense of your speed and direction at all times. Do you plan to use Unity again on the next jam, or go back to Godot for a while?

HER-V by Kilirane 2023-01-10T20:23:38Z

score3.PNG Had a lot of fun with this one! I really like how the map expands over time and exposes more rare and valuable resources. I also like how the combo length is based on the resource type, so it gets more challenging to harvest more valuable items later. If you add more features later, it'd be cool to be able to collect jumpjet fuel from certain spots and use that to fly over gaps. I'd also love to see more distinct abilities/bonuses that come from each type of resource so maybe you make a bee-line for specific types before your fuel or health runs out, or collect a certain number of rare red/blue resources before your inventory is too full. Great work on this game!

Speed Farmer by rargrave 2023-01-11T03:42:32Z

Nice work on this one! Lots of small features that add up to a fun experience. The minigames for gathering water and fertilizer were cool, and having lots of secrets and unique shopkeepers around the world was a great way to encourage exploration and curiosity. I also love the artwork and character sprites. You even had some nice quality-of-life features like fading the trees out when the player walks behind them. The planting/growing mechanics are plenty detailed for a jam, but I'd love to see you keep working on this and add even more types of plants, new ways to sell your harvest (maybe at a market or your own store), and maybe find rare seeds or buy your own farm/land later!

Wheat melody by EasyLuckyGem 2023-01-11T00:04:57Z

Great work on this game! It's very calming and all the elements fit together well. I like having a different song on each level, too. The animation is nice, and there are some really nice details like the crops getting more healthy as you progress, and withering when you lose. And you even had different color schemes for various times of day - nicely done, all around!

Agricultural Ascension by Sibi 2023-01-14T19:37:35Z

A very cool puzzle game with simple mechanics but some deviously tricky levels! The difficulty curve was really good, and I was impressed how many cool puzzles you got out of having only 2-3 types of tiles on the board. The graphics are nice, and I like how you even have real-time lighting and shadows on the board and chains below while you're moving pieces around. Great work on all the fun and interesting puzzles!

Mustered by arron-fowler 2023-01-13T00:38:49Z

This is a very cool little card game, and quite impressive for a jam! The music and sound effects are nice, and the voxel models look great. The animated humans and critters moving passively around the landscape is great. Cool idea to have the standard/better/premium decks that you can draw from as you find/mine rarer resources on the map. At some points, I sort of felt like I was playing an RTS and uncovering fog of war as the game progressed. Would love to see more of this one if you decide to expand it more and add new cards. Great work!

Harvestris by niterich 2023-01-11T02:59:34Z

This is a cool combination of game mechanics! Feels a bit like solving a Rubik's Cube where every move changes everything around you, and you need to plan a few moves in advance. I also really like the sprites changing to reflect the ratio of sun/water/soil that tile has. You made a great choice to just automatically drop the player back into the next season without a big "game over" screen or anything; that makes it feel more welcoming and urges you to try "just one more round!"

Harvest Swarm by LuhUchiha 2023-01-10T03:10:18Z

Fun idea! I like the mad dash between spraying bugs, preparing land/seeds, and harvesting. It gets pretty tricky after a while, but it's a good challenge level for a game like this. If you happen to work on a future version, I'd love to have a way to carry two tools at a time, or sell the harvest for gold to buy upgraded tools/seeds. Very well done!

Scythe of Souls by xaviarrob123 2023-01-10T03:01:37Z

Cool art, music, and Harvest idea! The dashing scythe attack is pretty cool, and I like how you can only get a successful hit if you dash at the correct distance, rather than just being able to stand next to them and attack. The ghost AI seems random/sneaky enough to be a good challenge, and I really appreciated having the on-screen controls. You guys did a great job!

Fruit Pick Tricks by Toomblercazz 2023-01-16T06:52:00Z

Whoa - this is a fantastic puzzle game! I really enjoyed every minute of this one. The levels are extremely well-crafted and I felt like I was learning new mechanics and tricks every time I unlocked a new area. Lots of eureka moments and brain fuzzies. The clean, sterile aesthetic is really cool too, almost like you're in an early VR game from the '90s. Excellent work on every part of your game design!

Hayday by Avi 2023-01-10T22:46:50Z

Fun minigame! Quite good for half a day's work, too. I like the sprites and the scythe swing feels good. Future version needs a scarecrow upgrade! :)

Harvesting the Dark Souls by MoLa0404 2023-01-13T04:35:55Z

A neat little mini-roguelite! I like the give-and-take perk selection after each wave. Some of those are pretty brutal, but they really force you to specialize in a certain playstyle, which is a plus. The upgrades that allow you to attack further, throw, and deal damage with the handle are pretty cool. I like the fact that you fully heal after a wave, so you can dive into the crowd at the last second and retrieve some extra souls. The persistent stats are nice too, and serve as a good balance for the negative perks you may have picked up during the last round. Cool ideas here, and a solid jam entry!

Cream of the Crop by Weirdybeardyman 2023-01-16T04:02:57Z

Great entry! This one is really fun and relaxing to just buzz around the fields at your own pace. The flight model feels great, and the wheat harvesting is super satisfying as well. Great idea to have the barn fly-through refuel as a fun challenge to repeat periodically. This is the only harvesting game I've played so far that uses a terrain layer for crops, and it works remarkably well. Excellent job on this one!

Apothecary by benskca 2023-01-10T00:03:16Z

Great atmosphere, music, and art in this one! I really like having the reference book that you can flip through at any time. This is the only potion/medicine crafting game that I've seen that has that. If you add more features to the post-jam version, it would also be really cool to be able to write your own custom notes in the book as you discover new recipes and details about things you've grown or crafted!

Bogged by InfinitySamurai 2023-01-10T18:38:39Z

Fun gameplay! Great music and the "pop" sound effect from collecting berries is really satisfying. The retract/extend mechanic is cool too, and could definitely be interesting in a later version if you could gain the ability to retract faster or with more force to pull in larger and larger batches of berries over time. Very well done! :)

Soul Harvest Inc. by Ian McD 2023-01-09T23:19:09Z

Fun idea! Definitely a very cool concept, almost like the management/tycoon version of Death's Door. I like the variety of upgrades, and being able to assign different reapers to various jobs. Very nice touch on having reapers return to their desks to fill out boring paperwork after a job, haha :)

Herogatchi by WiredOverload 2023-01-13T02:34:59Z

I love this idea! That's really cool to be adventuring in 3D and then tend to your Herogatchi occasionally and harvest their stats as you go. This could really make for a fun full-length RPG! Are you planning to expand this game after the jam? I think it definitely has some potential.

Agent 001 by Maytch 2023-01-16T03:23:39Z

Your idea is fun and has some serious potential! Aside from the obvious nods to the classics, the rewiring mechanic also makes me think of Gunpoint and I'd love to see you flesh out this idea more after the jam. It might also be fun to have a few different types of weapons and tools, each with their own number of slot types and grid squares, so certain pipes and nodes will only fit into certain weapons. Maybe a slow-firing weapon like a revolver can deliver one big electrical surge into the network to overwhelm a specific security camera, or a faster weapon can deliver a series of small pulses that creates minor static on the network, causing a key-carrying guard to come and investigate the server room.

I hope you continue to build on this really cool foundation over time. Excellent work! score49.PNG

Super Hex Harvest by amkingTRP 2023-01-15T00:51:51Z

Excellent puzzle game! Such a nice art style, and great music to boot. You've got a great mix of mechanics here like the Sarlaccs, the running enemies which create some fun close calls, and the arrow buttons to move the rocks around. I also found a few different creative ways to solve certain levels, which is always enjoyable. I also really like the growing brambles that urge you to solve certain levels faster, but thankfully aren't frustrating.

Very nice work on such a cool jam entry! score39.PNG

DropLet by Suchista 2023-01-15T06:23:52Z

Adorable environment art and squirrel character! The simple gameplay is great for just relaxing, enjoying the rainfall, and taking things at your own pace. The water collecting/filling mechanic is solid and could be used for all kinds of fun puzzles and experiences, if you decide to expand this game after the jam. Beautiful work on this jam entry!

Veggies slayer by ukirain 2023-01-11T02:19:19Z

Fantastic art and animation! This game's oozing with style and I'd love to see a later version with really atmospheric music and sound effects. The characters are really neat, and I think the combat system has potential if it's fleshed out a bit and if there's a tutorial in a future version. Great work on getting so much done in a weekend - wow!

Squirrelativity by cassowary 2023-01-18T19:56:47Z

Excellent puzzle game! This is extremely polished and fun to play. @amarokczukay recommended this one [here](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/52/$313769/what-are-some-of-your-best-games-so-far) and it did not disappoint!

The animation and level design is great, and the sound design and calming music is perfect. You've got a great mixture of mechanics that steadily build up the difficulty at a good pace, and keep you learning new things each level. Very, very good work on this one!

Menagerie Street by Evan Charfauros 2023-01-21T20:16:39Z

Very cool idea for an investigation/mystery game! I love how the simple premise leads to all sorts of deeper dialogue developing between various neighbors. The writing is really good, and the dialogue system is flexible and interesting. Great art and character design, too. The relaxing music and ambient sound does a great job of setting the tone. Great work all around!

Harveeps by Raivk 2023-01-18T20:11:30Z

This game is very well done! The level of juice and polish here is extremely impressive. Even the "How To Play" window at the beginning is nicely designed and has animated text. I love the sound, music, and subtle effects all over the place. @amarokczukay recommended your game [here](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/52/$313769/what-are-some-of-your-best-games-so-far) and I can't believe I hadn't seen it yet!

The NPCs reacting to newly-placed blocks is really cool, and I love how much depth you've designed around the scoring system. There are also some really nice quality-of-life features like being able to either click the Rotate button, or press 'R', or even use mousewheel to rotate - that was really intuitive and I found and appreciated that right away. The tension between collecting humans and not leaving too many crop circles on the board at one time is great and always keeps you thinking a few steps ahead. Your whole team should be really proud of what you guys accomplished here!

Bloopy by SvenErik 2023-01-11T20:06:12Z

Cool pixel art and lighting! You guys really put a lot of work into the sprites and animations. The cheat sheet was really helpful too, since the in-game time limit was relatively short and didn't allow much time to explore on your own. The harvesting mechanic was interesting, with each robot requiring different items and the player slowly learning which bot needs certain things and which will give you the appropriate tech to repair your ship. I could definitely see this one being interesting if you keep expanding on it after the jam; maybe you discover and repair more machinery around the factory over time, find better ways to automate harvesting, add more bots to your crew, and create tools and machines that require various amounts of batteries to stay powered. Nice job finishing your game!

Harvey D. Bones by Flying Dog Fish 2023-01-12T08:02:47Z

I love the wild and crazy design in this one! :) You're the grim reaper on a skateboard, chasing a bunch of scooter-riding cats through the Win95 Maze Screensaver, Pac-Man style! All while running for your life from Cthulhu, of course. :)

Cool 3D level with 2D sprites, and the lighting is nice too. I like how the levels slowly expand, but allow you to get used to the mechanics in a smaller space first. The character animations are fun, and the cat AI is enjoyable without being too evasive and difficult. Nice work getting everything implemented cleanly and finishing the jam!

Petra Rabbit's Carrot Chase by TheseusInABottle 2023-01-11T08:00:14Z

Fun little stealth/puzzle game! I love the characters feeling like wooden cutouts - reminds me of the Lara Croft GO and Hitman GO games. The extra, optional challenge of getting all the carrots on each level is a great idea. I really like being able to rotate the world at any time to plan your next move and get a better look at enemy patrols. Great work on ending up with such a polished jam game!

CCCPop & juice (Урожай Поп и сок) by LoicLeGrosFrere 2023-01-10T20:51:08Z

Fun idea! I like the driving physics where you have to manage your speed and turn angle so you don't spin out. The juice mechanic is neat and I like how it actually sloshes around in the harvester's container. I definitely didn't spend five minutes painting a giant smiley face on the field ;) It's also really cool how each asset's paint color actually combines in the mixer and you can paint with each color individually. Great work getting this all implemented during a jam!

Grub Grab by ComicSans 2023-01-11T05:33:04Z

Cool idea here you've got here! One of the better squad-based vegetable pickers I've played today ;) I like the parallax layers and controlling two characters at a time with very different movement mechanics. It's pretty challenging to get in the correct position when the veggies drop into the foreground, but I can imagine some cool gameplay coming out of a post-jam version if you keep adding to it. Maybe something like being able to pass items/food back and forth between all three characters of your group, or maybe at the end of the day you need to set up camp to cook your food, and one person can be cooking for the group while the others do various tasks or keep watch for raiders/wolves in the distance. Great work on finishing your game and coming up with a unique idea!

Junkship by YogurtTheHorse 2023-01-15T04:54:48Z

Very cool presentation in this game! The physics are really satisfying, and the ability to hook as many things as you want is great. Being able to buy new ships and swap between them is really cool. I like how you can take as much time as you need getting used to the controls, before trying more challenging salvage missions. Very nicely done, all around! :)

Hidden Tales by zubspace 2023-01-11T02:40:14Z

Wow! After playing through about sixty LD52 games so far, this is easily one of my top 3. Amazing art, story, unique mechanics, and design! Beautiful music and pacing here, as well. I would really love to see this turned into a full game, even if it's only a few hours long. Wonderfully crafted from start to finish!

Hustle Harvest by plexsoup 2023-01-10T22:27:54Z

Nicely done! I know you didn't get to implement everything you wanted, but what's here definitely shows a lot of effort. I love your StS-meets-Factorio idea and I'd really like to check out a future version if you add more to this one!

Beware The Wheatshifter by Fnkee 2023-01-13T05:26:39Z

Such a cool art style :) I really like the sprites for the keys, lives, and Wheatshifter. Great work on this one!

Drake's Fortune by chompdev 2023-01-09T22:11:46Z

- @hoeleboele Thanks! My programmer-art in action ;) Good point about the breath too, it definitely needs to be buffed up a bit. - @judjudson Glad you enjoyed it - thanks! :) I'd love to add some music to an after-jam version. - @heho Thank you! @mcbombadev did a great job replacing some of my terrible art with much better menus :) Yeah, I definitely want to add fall damage to an after-jam version. I really appreciate the feedback!

Drake's Fortune by chompdev 2023-01-09T22:22:21Z

- @yorsh I really appreciate your feedback! Glad you enjoyed the game. Yeah I definitely agree that defenders should take fall damage. I'd love to add that, and some other features like defenders getting squished by bricks or stomped on by the dragon :)

Drake's Fortune by chompdev 2023-01-09T22:45:48Z

- @ellie-rasmussen Thank you very much! Glad you had fun playing! I totally agree that more onboarding would help (especially for the town ranks and gold production stuff) and would like to add that in the future. And you're definitely right that the breath is underpowered and could be reworked to be much more useful later. Thank you for the kind words and helpful feedback!

Drake's Fortune by chompdev 2023-01-10T00:13:44Z

- @lewl Thank you :) I'm very happy to hear you enjoyed it! - @rich-machines Haha yeah those arrows can be traumatizing, especially the fiery ones! Thanks for playing!

Drake's Fortune by chompdev 2023-01-10T00:44:05Z

- @upcharlie Thanks, that's great to hear! That's also really good feedback about the mouse - I was never 100% happy with it and would like to find a better aiming system later. Good point about making the fireball do some lingering damage and hit nearby targets; this is something we wanted to add but didn't quite get it done in time. Would love to do that later! - @breadstick Much appreciated, and I'm glad to hear you had fun! Yeah haha, I love landing a lucky shot and knocking an archer right off the ledge, or taking out the base of a tower and watching the whole thing crumble :)

Drake's Fortune by chompdev 2023-01-10T02:42:22Z

- @paroxysmal Thanks! Yeah I think that would add a lot - I really want to do that after the jam! - @megalukes Very much appreciated! Thanks for playing all the way through and collecting the upgrades :) - @ian-mcd Glad you had fun with it! Me too, haha.

Drake's Fortune by chompdev 2023-01-10T03:47:31Z

- @someone Thanks very much! Haven't played I of the Dragon yet but that looks really cool. I definitely agree we need a better solution for the invisible walls and the leftover gold in some levels. Thank you for playing, and for the great feedback! - @mtpw Haha awesome, glad you had fun! Yeah I think I'd definitely rework the audio and add more interesting sound variation in a later version. Music would be a huge benefit, too. Thanks for your notes!

Drake's Fortune by chompdev 2023-01-10T18:22:25Z

- @nikkunakku Much appreciated! That's cool to hear that you played enough to get all upgraded! :) - @error Happy to hear you enjoyed playing! That's a great idea to nudge the player toward exploring the Roost once their HP starts to get low enough. Excellent feedback! - @efilheim Thank you! Yeah I was surprised how engaging it felt even with such minimal textures and audio. - @tvorojok Thanks! We ended up having to cut a few features but I love the pressure of the Ludum Dare deadline because I think the game ended up even better because of those restrictions.

Drake's Fortune by chompdev 2023-01-10T23:40:49Z

- @lilsugarcat Thanks very much! Yeah haha, those archers can get tricky in the late game! - @shay-kopf I appreciate it! Yep, I agree that the mouse aiming needs a revamp, but I'm glad you were still able to enjoy it. Thanks for the feedback! - @aduermael I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it and found it easy to get into! Thanks :) - @ominusgalaxy44 Thank you! Yeah I'm actually really impressed by how many other interesting games originated from this theme! - @jajakeim Thank you kindly! Glad you got to play quite a bit of it. Yep, the fire breath definitely needs to be more useful and soldier fall damage would be a lot more fun. Great feedback!

Drake's Fortune by chompdev 2023-01-11T04:57:36Z

- @plexsoup Thanks for the nice feedback! Yeah that artillery feeling is always fun in games, kinda like aiming the bazooka in the Worms series. - @twchapman Much appreciated! Glad you had fun :) - @secrt101 Haha yeah, he is very Charizard-y now that I think about it! Congrats on getting every single upgrade - that's impressive!

Drake's Fortune by chompdev 2023-01-11T07:02:11Z

- @yubs Thanks! Haha yep, me too. It's always good fun to see a castle burn down, fall over, then sink into the swamp. Glad you enjoyed it! - @stefan-laimer Thank you! Yeah I love that feeling of pulling off the perfect long range shot and watching an archer fly over the hill :P

Drake's Fortune by chompdev 2023-01-11T18:52:43Z

- @nardandas Love to hear that! Yeah I definitely want to make the fire breath more effective against towers in some way - maybe concentrated fire can melt bricks or burn away wood support beams more quickly so that the underlying bricks crumble. Will be fun to explore in the next version! - @fancyreckless Thank you! @mcbombadev built all the towers and did an amazing job! He also wrote a great system that connected the blocks and made the destruction more realistic, but we had to remove that from the web version to boost performance. Looking forward to doing more with that later. - @macibacsi56 Thanks! :) - @senso Great to hear - thank you for playing our game! - @phillip-scott Awesome! Thanks for playing all the way through and getting all the upgrades! Yeah I definitely want to rework the aiming system soon. We talked about adding some explosives to the castle storage areas so they would sometimes explode from the inside with a well-placed shot. Lots of ideas to explore after the jam! :)

Drake's Fortune by chompdev 2023-01-11T19:22:52Z

- @tutti-ankka Thanks! Definitely looking forward to adding fall/crush damage soon :) - @adamwatters Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for the feedback! - @zubspace Thank you for the kind words! Yeah the aiming will be much better in the next version - looking forward to making that more fun! :)

Drake's Fortune by chompdev 2023-01-11T20:31:13Z

- @afe Thank you, glad you had fun! Yeah the aim definitely needs some work. Looking forward to revamping it in the next version! - @bardia-crunch Much appreciated! :) I'm glad you liked the difficulty curve. It's something we were tweaking a lot over the last few hours of the jam, so I'm happy to hear it ended up working! I love the idea of more stacking upgrades too - good feedback! - @miolosh Thank you! @mcbombadev designed all the towers and castles, and they turned out great. Excellent feedback about the AZERTY layout! And about fixing the "ground" background color, too. Thanks so much for playing and leaving the detailed notes :) - @thesmellofoxygen Great to hear - thanks! Yep, some music and animation would go a long way. Gotta hold out hope for that Pillage theme someday! - @cody1712 Thank you kindly! Yeah I'd love to add ragdolls and the dragon stomp idea would be perfect!

Great idea about the music - I agree that would help a lot. - @loiclegrosfrere Me too! I'm happy to hear you had fun and even unlocked every upgrade - wow! I'm also amazed you got so far using only/mainly Fire Breath. That actually sounds really fun and I want to try and finish the game like that, too! - @don-fouts Thanks, Don! Yeah I'd definitely love to add some animation soon. Really appreciate the feedback and the kind words!

Drake's Fortune by chompdev 2023-01-12T04:38:56Z

- @olddog Thank you very much! - @nikolaj Much appreciated :) Yeah I have some ideas to make the breath much more useful and focused in a future version - good feedback! - @amarokczukay Thanks - happy to hear you enjoyed it! Great idea for the fireball to cost some breath too - I think that would be a pretty effective way to balance the two attacks, in addition to buffing the flame breath accuracy and burn effects. We really appreciate the feedback and words of encouragement!

Happy to hear you're playing through again :) - @zimny11 Much appreciated :) Yep true, the aiming definitely needs some reworking. - @danmerey Thanks for playing, and for the detailed feedback! I appreciate you taking the time. Great notes about the animation/graphics, hidden cursor, and backpack size - we'll definitely be doing another pass on those in a post-jam version. By the way, great work on Catchy, and a huge congrats on Potion Craft's recent release and success!

Drake's Fortune by chompdev 2023-01-13T19:13:00Z

- @justin-c Very glad to hear you enjoyed it! I played a bunch of Body Harvesters and really had a blast with that as well. Great feedback about the gold limit and using damage dealt as the primary objective. And the particles/efficacy of flame breath, too. Thank you for the notes! - @vphyre Thank you kindly! :) - @peachtreeoath Happy that you enjoyed the game - thanks for playing! I love the feedback on new dragon types and upgrades - would definitely like to add something like that soon - especially unique upgrade trees for each dragon class. Sorry about the invisible wall bug and thanks for the heads-up on that!

Glad you enjoyed the game! :) - @thiradil Great feedback - thank you! Haha, glad you liked the dragon face. I threw it in as a placeholder and it grew on me. I really appreciate you playing and leaving these notes!

Drake's Fortune by chompdev 2023-01-14T19:02:31Z

- @metzkermeister Happy to hear you had fun! Thanks for the feedback about the aiming and flight/animation - definitely planning to improve those after the jam. I would have loved an extra day to really polish the game, but ended up bug-squashing until the last minute, haha. - @mololo Thank you for playing :) Great feedback about the cursor, upgrades, ending, Rest button, and the gold capacity only showing during a level. Really appreciate you taking the time to play through a bunch of the game and provide these detailed notes! - @ahintoflime We're very glad to hear it was one of your favorites - that's so cool! Thank you kindly for the compliment and for playing our game!

Drake's Fortune by chompdev 2023-01-14T23:39:53Z

- @zach-hsu Much appreciated! :) - @jormarysky Wow, thank you for the high praise! That means a lot. Excellent feedback about the kingdom management and doing strategic raids to raise/lower a specific town's gold. We had actually planned some of the same ideas and then needed to cut some on the last day, so I'm glad you think those elements would be cool too! - @hayricakir That's a very nice compliment - thanks! :)

Drake's Fortune by chompdev 2023-01-15T01:19:10Z

- @gizmolo Thank you! Very nice to hear :D - @nyxkn Very much appreciated! Thanks for playing enough to get all the upgrades :) Great feedback about the aiming, fire rate, and cooldown feedback. I'll be addressing all of those issues for sure! - @fluri Thank you for playing, and for the compliments and feedback! Yeah the map growth and castle ranks definitely need to be reworked, and I plan to add some animations and juice there to help indicate when they're growing/shrinking after a battle.

Drake's Fortune by chompdev 2023-01-15T05:02:25Z

- @sibi Haha, thanks! :) Yeah the ending would have been really cool with a boss or at least some sort of final challenge to complete. Looking forward to adding something like this soon! - @ategon Very much appreciated - glad you had fun! I'm happy to hear you found the city stats worthwhile. We're looking forward to expanding the game after the jam, and yep I agree it badly needs some music! :) - @arron-fowler Thank you! Yeah I'm really excited to add more more "oomph" and juice to a lot of these effects and attacks. Flapping wings would be amazing, agreed. We really appreciate your great feedback, and I'm happy to hear you enjoyed playing and will be back for more :)

- @grisha Thanks for playing! Good point - we're working on revamping the flame breath so it'll be equally useful. - @rohanmoon Haha, thank you! That's so cool to hear you really enjoyed it and kept playing :) - @bloodfin We very much appreciate that! Yeah, I definitely need to rework the castle rank-up system so it's more clear what's happening after each battle. That's very cool to hear you'll be playing it again! We definitely have a lot of things we want to add post-jam.

Drake's Fortune by chompdev 2023-01-15T23:55:12Z

- @khadia That means a lot - thank you for the great compliments and feedback! - @bradu Excellent notes here - thanks! We're planning to add quite a few of these features soon, and I'll definitely look at the turning bug and making it easier to grab gold under rubble. - @his-the-unknown-painter Very nice compliments - thank you so much! :)

Drake's Fortune by chompdev 2023-01-16T18:42:11Z

- @theothersamp Happy to hear you had fun! That's excellent feedback about balancing the fire breath and making the fireball cooldown more intuitive. Thank you! - @stellar-lily Thanks very much - glad you enjoyed it! I really appreciate your notes about the bug - I'll fix that in the post-jam version. - @accatosh Much appreciated! I'm glad you like the castle rank-up system, since that took more time than we expected. Thanks for the feedback about hold-to-fire, gold capacity upgrades, and more goals. We actually wanted to do all of those, but ended up needing to cut some features on the last day. Looking forward to adding those to the next version! :)

Drake's Fortune by chompdev 2023-01-17T04:27:19Z

- @minjutin Thanks for playing - happy to hear you enjoyed it! :) - @blockybear Very much appreciated! I can't believe I never played Incredibots back in the day. That looks amazing, haha. - @svemir Thank you kindly! Good feedback - I'm definitely going to redesign the aiming system. Glad to hear you played enough to get a bunch of upgrades and see the late-game castles! :)

Drake's Fortune by chompdev 2023-01-17T22:18:07Z

- @glaikunt We really appreciate the nice compliments, and that's awesome that you got all the upgrades - wow! - @chase-of-bass Thank you very much! :D - @pedro-d-almeida Wow, that's so nice to hear - thanks! I'm really happy you enjoyed it enough to play that much! That means a lot :)

Drake's Fortune by chompdev 2023-01-19T22:34:32Z

- @asfdfdfd Awesome - thanks for playing! - @strega Very much appreciated! Happy to hear you enjoyed the game :) Good feedback about the cursor, too - I'm reworking that system for the post-jam version. - @mattwoelk Thank you for playing, and for the excellent feedback! Great points about the fireball cooldown and gold limit. Glad you noticed the ability to shoot down arrows - I love that too. Much appreciated! :)

Drake's Fortune by chompdev 2023-01-22T18:44:10Z

- @captandrey Glad to hear you had fun and enjoyed the leveling system! Good point about the controls and castle walls - we're reworking those post-jam to make them a lot more fun and intuitive. - @flying-dog-fish Thanks for playing - happy to hear you liked it! Sorry about the bug where you got stuck - I'll be fixing that after the jam. - @twilightrh Thank you! :) Great feedback - we're redesigning the entire fireball aiming system in the post-jam version to make it much more fun.

Drake's Fortune by chompdev 2023-01-24T00:26:16Z

- @weefairyfabi Thank you very much! Glad to hear you enjoyed it and liked the dragon design :) - @oleg20111511 Much appreciated! Yep, I also usually stick to the fireball attack now that I've played through a number of times. I'll definitely make the fire breath more useful in the post-jam version. - @dock-frankenstein Thanks for playing! Happy to hear you liked the combat and had fun playing! Thanks for the feedback, too.

Drake's Fortune by chompdev 2023-01-27T23:14:38Z

- @honey-pony Thank you so much for this great write-up and excellent feedback! That's a good point about the player not really being able to prevent castles from being upgraded in the long run - we wanted to do more with that idea but had to cut some related features on the last day. I definitely want to revamp the fire breath so its usefulness is equivalent to the fireball. I appreciate you finding the health bar glitches - I'll fix those for the post-jam version. Great point about the endgame/99999 bug too, haha I really wish I'd had more time to test that. Thanks again very much for playing the game thoroughly and all these very helpful details! :) By the way, Cardwork Cycle was super fun and easily one of my favorite games of the jam - great work! - @francoisvn Thanks very much! Yeah there's definitely some work to do on improving the difficulty curve. Glad you enjoyed playing! :) - @cassowary Haha, happy to hear you had fun! Yeah the bricks falling on enemies would be so cool - looking forward to adding that feature after the jam! - @4ahizon Thank you for checking it out! :) - @alchemic Very cool! Thank you so much for recording your playthrough! I was impressed that you got so far and even earned every single upgrade :) Sorry you experienced that endgame glitch - I wish I'd had more time to test it. We fell into the trap of adding last-minute features and didn't get to test everything thoroughly, but I'm glad the main gameplay wasn't too buggy overall. The video feedback is so cool, especially for helping us realize things like at 2:20 when you wanted to pick up that last piece of gold, or at 2:50 when you notice the impact of the upgraded fireball. This is all super helpful and greatly appreciated!

The Gatherers by Sisyphean Games 2023-01-12T07:40:10Z

I love this one! I've played over 90 games from the jam so far, and this one's easily in my top five. Your audio design is fantastic, and the gameplay is intuitive and engaging. I really enjoy the relaxing pace and freedom to poke and prod at the mechanics until you figure out the next step. The in-game help menu was super useful too, and a very nice bit of polish. Great work on this gem, and please do consider making a full version too!

Super Plantoid by dans17 2023-01-21T22:57:03Z

I really had fun with this one! This is a great example of how much even a small world can contain that exciting Metroidvania sense of exploration and experimentation if the abilities are fun and well designed. I wasn't initially sure how interesting it would be to explore such a small world, but quickly found myself absorbed and searching every room for clues and every last collectable.

The carryable light source and bubbles were such cool ideas, and I really liked how tense the platforming became when you couldn't risk getting hit and losing your carried item. The double jump/double bubble system was really cool as well, and though the timing was tricky, it was a great challenge. The dark areas reminded me of some of Hollow Knight's great moments of spelunking in a dark cave and nervously looking around for spikes and enemies just out of your lantern's range. Your music and audio design is perfect, too. Excellent work on creating such a fun and satisfying jam game, you guys!

Cardwork Cycle by Honey Pony 2023-01-21T22:08:32Z

Amazing deckbuilder! I really enjoyed playing this one, and found the mixture of mechanics very fun and rewarding. I love the idea of smaller plants needing less water to grow, and rarer seeds taking extra care and more water to grow. I think you could do a bunch of cool things with that concept in a post-jam version. Maybe even have rare seed cards you could buy for gold and could only plant under certain conditions, or while playing in certain levels/biomes.

I'd really like to see what you could do with this game by adding more plants, enemies, and upgrades later. The art, sound, and design is really excellent - great job!

Harbinger's Harvest by Mad Brokli 2023-01-11T22:22:20Z

Cool music and gameplay, and you even had a second music track for the game over menu! The shooting is pretty fun, and you've got a nice variety of weapons here. Good variety of enemy sprites, too. If you add more features later, it'd be cool to have enemies only fire when they're on-screen, and differentiate the enemy attack patterns and movement styles even more. Lots of great work here for a short jam, wow!

Astral Aberration by ModdingMachine 2023-01-12T04:29:42Z

Whoa, this is a very cool jam entry! I love the zero gravity controls, and the player BONKing off the side of a ship or asteroid literally made me laugh out loud when I first saw it - that's such a great sound effect for it :) Having the gameplay alternate between mining, unlocking rooms of your ship, and raiding enemy vessels was really cool and well done. It's really fun to disable enemy cameras and prevent the local crew from responding. Also cool to be able to see the passing stars as you walk around the enemy ship. This is just a really impressive scope for just a weekend jam, and you did very well. Nice job!

7 days to harvest by fallcresthero 2023-01-11T01:07:05Z

I had a lot of fun playing this one! Very nicely done, and the overall level of polish is great. The drone pickup effect is fun to watch, and the drawing system works great. As you start adding in tougher mechanics like extra rocks and lots of human obstacles, the difficulty spikes quickly but it's definitely a good challenge. Great work on this game!

Night Harvest by EvilScotsman 2023-01-22T02:19:29Z

Wow, this one definitely earned five stars for Mood and Graphics! I love the style you've gone with here, and it's amazing how much atmosphere and tension is built in only a few minutes. There's a great sense of relative safety in the driver's seat, and the need to climb down into the darkness is a bit more creepy and thrilling every time. This is a pretty compelling start to a horror story, and could really be turned into something fun and interesting if you expand it after the jam. Great work, and I hope to see more of this one soon! :)

Plant Harvester by zimny11 2023-01-11T07:25:57Z

The cauliflower got me too, @slush!

Fun little idea for a game, all in all! I like how the harvester can't turn very fast but you can still cover all angles with the turret. The upgrades are pretty fun, and seeing your level up gauge right on the back of the harvester is a nice touch. Lots of great pixel art here, and an impressive number of different enemies for a jam. Well done! :)

We Harvest as One by Ben Toosey 2023-01-12T20:26:11Z

Very challenging puzzles, and an excellent presentation! The music and art work well together. I like how you have the color-coded UI for each side of the level. I'm still working on solving the puzzle that @yx0884 posted above, but it's a great one so far. Nice job designing all these puzzles in one weekend! :)

Harvester Madness by Loig 2023-01-10T21:29:20Z

Got to the fireworks, woo! :) Awesome game and upgrade variety! I like how much strategy and replayability you got out of a restricted set of mechanics. The angle and speed selection is fun, and the upgrades are all well-balanced and enjoyable. Great ideas for the fuel can pickups and rock clearing. Eventually getting the max width harvester and the green (fusion boost?) put a big smile on my face. Great work on this one!

Barvest: The Iconic Bug Harvest of 2005 by picross 2023-01-11T04:00:43Z

This was an excellent experience from start to finish! Great N64 vibes, intuitive controls, fun graphics, and lots of small details and extra polish make it shine. I love the little things like flags made of spiderwebs, the spider's arms above them as they fall, and the spider eyes on the coin. It's all just very well designed and amazing for such a short project!

Doki Doki Ninjin by ChevalBancal 2023-01-21T20:58:46Z

A super enjoyable and solid platforming experience! This merges some of the best mechanics from Mario 2 and Mario World, and has a nice mixture of platforming, quests, and puzzles. I really like the small hints and funny dialogue from animals. The optional challenges are great - stuff like finding all the medals, golden carrots, and the Super Secret Cave. It's also amazing how many levels and areas you guys designed in such a short time. I love the different level sprite variations like the snow on level 3. Very, very well done!

Ramming into Trees by cagibi 2023-01-15T01:11:30Z

I love the title! I gave this one 5 stars for humor based on the title and in-game jokes - great work :) The gameplay concept is fun, and I really like the shops where you can get all kinds of interesting upgrades. There are even some secret areas to find! Nice work on the graphics and day/night cycle. The basket system is great, too. Nicely done for such a short jam window!

Nimkip! by T C 2023-01-10T04:07:37Z

Great work! I gave this one five stars for humor, mood, art, and theme! Loved all the detailed animations and interactions between the Nimkips and various enemies/resources. The writing was absolute gold, and this concept fit the theme very well. Would love to see more of this one :)

Click On Fish by Pomo 2023-01-13T20:01:33Z

This one is fun! I haven't seen many games this jam with an emphasis on memorization and identification like this. I like how complex it becomes after just a minute or two. Definitely a great challenge, and it's easy to get into and intuitive to play. Great work! :)

Expand by Tesseract 2023-01-10T23:04:32Z

A very cool design! I love the idea of this game's objectives and play area slowly expanding outward as you discover new plants, buy new plots, and unlock tools and options later in the game. I also really like how certain plots can be better or worse for specific plants or growth patterns. Nice job on this jam entry! It definitely feels fresh and unique compared to most of the games I've played so far :)

N.O.A.S. by JudJudson 2023-01-10T02:11:07Z

Great job on this one! The art is excellent and the music fits well. The difficulty curve is just about right, but takes a few tries before you get the hang of things. I really like how the actions/minigames to harvest each overripe plant is a bit different. Great sense of humor, too, on the "Notice of Termination -- Reason: DEATH", haha! :)

Harvest Dune by rrsmtz 2023-01-11T08:13:04Z

Very fun! I like how all of the abilities can be used multiple times and work well in tandem. Scouting is fun and a good way to keep the player engaged while crawling through the desert. Strategically deciding whether to set up some turrets before mining is an interesting option. The ending is very fun and tense, and left me wanting more! :)

Shroom Hunter by Patsui 2023-01-15T06:00:09Z

This is really fun and polished! I love all the little juicy details like the glows and multiple layers of particles, flashing enemies, knockback, screen shake, etc. I like using both weapons a lot, but I think the uzi eclipses the shotgun's usefulness after a few levels and is better from then on. The commodity market is a great idea, as others have mentioned, and could really be a great secondary gameplay loop for a larger RPG/rogelite along these lines. Oh, and great sfx and music choices, too!

Protect Your Farm by connorwmackay 2023-01-13T03:58:19Z

Fun game idea! I really like your mix of tower defense and farming here. I think you could expand this game after the jam and really have a fun game loop with a sizeable research tree and different types of enemies and turrets. It'd be fun to have a way to funnel enemies through certain areas by building walls or moats. Great job on getting this done for the jam! :)

BloodMage by Uraffululz 2023-01-12T07:51:54Z

I had fun with this one! The combat is pretty enjoyable and feels like kiting mobs around in an MMO while your buddies whittle down their health. I like that your vassals seem to have a lot of health and can deal some great damage too. The choice between vassal/HP/MP keeps things interesting since these ratios change after every battle. I ran out of MP at the very end and couldn't recruit the boss, so that might be a cool mechanic if you do an expanded version, where you're always trying to maintain enough HP/MP to use for other tasks and opportunities that may come up between fights. Nice job on the game!

score24.PNG

Wheat Master by nyxkn 2023-01-13T19:51:24Z

Very fun and polished clicker! The little touches are great, like the subtle particle effects and the score bouncing as it increases. The incremental wheat growth sprites are nice, and the color palette is soothing and cheerful. I really like the red/blue auto tiles indicating exactly what those upgrades are doing for you. Great idea to slowly grow the map as well as the value of each plant - it's effectively the same but each feels enjoyable in its own right. Very nice job on this one! :)

Open Seasoning by ssh.randy 2023-01-12T01:41:52Z

A simple, fun, and hectic MP game! :) I love the sprite art and animation. What engine and MP tools did you use?

Farmer Rabbit's Wild Ride by joyrev 2023-01-10T23:33:06Z

Fun little project! I like the attack boost and the steady difficulty curve. The low-poly 3D style all fits together well, and the ability to weave around the berry bushes and funnel enemies through there was a nice touch. Great work getting this finished! score5.PNG

Artifical Intelligence vs Alien Invaders by muhuk 2023-01-14T22:38:50Z

Cool concept here! Interesting game idea for a rogue AI to use humans with various skills to fight off an alien invasion. The battle system is neat and reminds me a bit of a turn-based CRPG where you can see the results of each consecutive action, and it'd be cool to see you expand more on that system later (maybe you can see the combat log and determine exactly which ship configuration is most effective against certain types of alien ships). Nice work getting your jam game done!

Farm to Table: Wizard Edition by fc85057 2023-01-11T02:49:40Z

Cool concept and gameplay loop! The tutorial definitely helps a lot. I really like the art, characters, voices, and music. My reflexes aren't quick enough to get very far, but I love the idea and I'd like to see more of this one if you expand it later. Great work! :)

Farm Patronum! by MrchickenBoy 2023-01-12T00:57:08Z

Very fun and high energy music/sounds/vfx! I love the screen shake and constantly-firing spray bottle. The bug particles are fun and the pixel art is all nicely done. All the little details like enemy flashes, the character shaking when they get hit, and the gently-swaying crops are really nice. Great work on your game!

Farm Patronum! by MrchickenBoy 2023-01-12T06:20:56Z

They Hide in the Fields by Hawkin 2023-01-16T03:41:34Z

Five stars for Mood, Audio, and Graphics! I wasn't sure what to expect from the screenshots, but after about 30 seconds I was totally immersed in the world. The visuals are fantastic and chunky, and the spatial sound is perfect. I love how you can hear exactly where every set of footsteps is, and how close an alien is getting. This is such a simple premise, but executed so well that I was simultaneously creeped out and enthralled the whole time. Excellent work, you guys!

score50.PNG

Harester by spacecadet 2023-01-12T00:21:08Z

Great mini-stealth game idea! I love the custom-made sound effects and the great animations like patrolling dogs and rustling bushes. The hole in the fence covered by bushes was fun nod to some stealth classics. Being able to hide in cover is great, too. The second-chance mechanic where you can get "caught" and then hide again before the farmer arrives is really smart. This is just very well executed and enjoyable the whole time!

score19.PNG

Minetanite by picttarge 2023-01-16T04:29:11Z

Fun RTS! I really like the ability to play as a "hero" unit and switch between combat and building at any time. Having only two resources like Starcraft was a smart choice, and still provides plenty of challenge without increasing the game's scope unnecessarily. The sound is really well done, especially the helpful voice lines like "you are damaged, heal at base" that help you understand how to play while the action is happening.

The menu music is cool and immediately helps set the isolated, barren tone of the planet surface. The weapon abilities are great too, and balanced nicely with one another. The acid and fire are my favorites, but they're all fun. I played this one for quite a while and really enjoyed it - great work! score52.PNG

Projekt Harvest by webDrag0n 2023-01-09T23:05:55Z

Neat game idea! I like the concept of using robotics/automation to manage farming tasks like watering, growing, harvesting, etc. Your choice of music, graphics, and lighting works really well here. I also really like the option to wait for rainfall in random areas versus manually watering specific plots of land. Do you have any plans to expand this game after the jam?

Frosty Forestry by Martta 2023-01-14T20:35:55Z

Fun game idea! Simple and enjoyable. I like the saw/recharge mechanic and needing to keep a close eye out for rocks. There was one incident where I may have hit some oncoming traffic with a running chainsaw, but other than that I think I did my job fairly well! :P

Harvcrab-232 by Raynorr 2023-01-13T06:29:05Z

Extremely impressive for a jam game! The art is really effective and polished, and the tense mining and maneuvering around debris really makes you pay attention to every small detail in the environment. The drilling/collecting mechanic is fun and requires you to move carefully and methodically at all times. It's very nice having so much control over your ship and being able to thrust in any direction, in addition to strafing.

Eventually getting the upgraded collector and long-range mining laser was a very nice change of pace. It was also really cool that the vessel actually changes appearance gradually as you upgrade each element. Excellent work on this game - you guys are amazing!

lanterns & mooncakes by ty_ 2023-01-11T04:47:26Z

Great music and art, and a fun little platformer story to play through! I really liked unlocking the double jump part way through the game. The variety of different lanterns was neat, and I liked having stable platforms often to rest on. Your placement of checkpoints was really nicely designed, too. Excellent work on finishing your game! :)

Jack-O-Bowl by machino 2023-01-10T20:30:52Z

Interesting idea! I like the low-res aesthetic and darkness with other bowling areas just barely visible in the distance. Looks like the map is procedurally generated? I fell off the edge and when I respawned, all the lanes were different. I think it also generated a new map when I walked far enough away from the bowling area. Are there objectives, or is it more of a bowling physics sandbox?

Stealth Organ Harvest by SharpLoaded 2023-01-10T18:52:40Z

Great atmosphere and sound design here! I really had fun with this one, and you put together a remarkably solid stealth game in such a short time. I really like the amount of detail in terms of what enemies will react to (different states of awareness, noticing bodies, seeing you pass through the edge of their vision cone, etc). The gameplay loop is fun, the pacing is great, and the levels had some pretty fun ideas that could definitely be expanded in a larger version.

Straight Line Farming by DrawRunner 2023-01-12T23:22:11Z

Excellent game idea! I really enjoyed this one, especially on my 2nd-3rd run when I understood the strategy a bit more. The ability to plant partial rows for less cost was nice. I really like how complex it gets when you have tougher orders, and you're trying to decide whether to sacrifice a few extra crops this turn to make future planting easier. Lots of excellent design decisions in this one, and the pixel art, music, and sound effects are just the cherry on top!

High score: Day 46

THE HARVESTING by BorderDestroyer 2023-01-10T01:02:37Z

I had fun with this one! I really like the unconventional movement system and your take on the Harvest theme. I definitely didn't expect to be playing as a stalk of wheat today :) The gameplay loop is enjoyable and if you add more features later, it'd be handy to be able to see your teleport cooldown on the HUD. Also I love that death animation haha, gotta be one of my favorite parts!

Season of Harvest by Wuppos 2023-01-14T20:51:39Z

Excellent pixel art and a sunny, Zelda-like vibe going on here! I really like the turn-based puzzle elements you've designed. The ability to block farmers with scarecrows was challenging to pull off sometimes, but a great idea. It's neat how there's a trade-off between planting sunflowers nearby for extra points versus spreading them out to avoid them all getting stomped at the same time.

I think you made great use of the 5x5 grid and there's a lot of strategy already, and a lot more to build on if you want to expand the mechanics further after the jam. Great work on your game!

Under Cow-ver by cbab 2023-01-09T21:11:36Z

Pleasantly surprised to see a stealth game for this theme! I thought this was a pretty unique Harvest idea and was implemented well. The patrolling cows are funny and work great, and I enjoyed the mechanic where you go for higher-value food bundles to get 10 score at a time instead of harvesting individual crops. Great job!

Fields of Fire by Mololo 2023-01-13T04:13:23Z

Nice art style and a fun little tower def game! I like have the two currencies so you can upgrade/build turrets with one while increasing your farm production stats with the other. If you add more features later, you definitely need a pumpkin cannon :)

The Feudal in the Rye by echerry 2023-01-15T05:24:58Z

Fantastic sense of mood from beautiful pixel art and music! This game is really fun to play around in, and I like how quickly things get moving after you build a few houses and towers. The animations are perfect, and the upgrades and villager/army system adds a lot. I'm not very good at surviving for long, but I love the aesthetic and would be very happy to see more of this one, if you decide to expand it!

Organigrow by Phillip Scott 2023-01-11T02:08:24Z

Cool idea! I like the mixture mechanics for each tool and the need to explore and find seeds before you can plant crops. I don't think I've seen many farming games with platforming mechanics, so this definitely feels fresh and like it has potential for more features later! Great work on everything you implemented here :)

Radiance by XOREAXEAX 2023-01-13T05:34:44Z

Beautiful style, and the vibe of the sfx and music are so cool! The glowing gas trails rising from the star's surface are really well done. This is a very cool concept for a clicker/idle game, and I'd love to see more if you decide to expand it after the jam. Great work on a very unique entry!

The Harvest by EpicGameFan 2023-01-16T01:55:51Z

Nicely done! I love the art style and the graphical restrictions definitely help set the mysterious and eerie tone. The inventory and crafting systems are great for encouraging the player to pay attention to everything in the world and look for any small clue they might need later. I was pleasantly surprised that you actually killed the player at the end (if they aren't prepared) instead of letting them endlessly fiddle with the menus while in danger. This is a really effective and fun little jam entry!

Victor Voidbringer by pedsm 2023-01-14T21:14:41Z

This one's a great challenge! I like that you have to learn all the weapon styles and alternate between them constantly to keep your health up and keep the mob from growing too large. The range of each weapon also leads to some pretty interesting choices regarding where and who you want to fight at a given time. Another minor detail that I really thought was smart was the pool of weapons in the starting area, which serves not only as way to start with your preferred weapon type, but also an area to revisit later and replenish some HP in a pinch!

Wheater of the Colossus by GCake 2023-01-11T03:25:55Z

Fun idea! I love SotC and it's tricky implement a good climbing system in one weekend, but you did a nice job! I like the idea that you need to harvest food in order to have enough stamina to climb all the way up. Pretty good approximation of the colossus weak points, too. All in all, this is an impressive amount of work for a short jam!

Harvestigator: An IRS Tax Auditing Game by crow_seeds 2023-01-21T20:34:26Z

This one is so good! Funny writing, great characters, and interesting puzzles to solve. The great dialogue and "papers peas" joke definitely earned 5 stars for humor. I really like the immersion of manually opening the folder and organizing the forms in any order, with the smart limitation of not quite having enough screen space to see everything at once. Having the characters with different demeanors trying to plead with/threaten you during the audit is fantastic, and I think that could be expanded into a pretty deep mechanic in a post-jam version. You guys really did an incredible job for a weekend jam, and should be very proud of the final product!

Les Fleurs du Mars by tttt 2023-01-10T22:20:22Z

score4.PNG Cool game! I like the simple rules and the good, steady ramp-up of difficulty over time. The variation in growing speed was a nice way to keep things engaging, as was the curved dome shape requiring you to more carefully monitor the right and left edges of the screen. The flower sprites are great and the cutting is fun and require you to pay attention to the timing as you move around. Well done!

Soul's Path by Gabriel Chan 2023-01-27T19:38:24Z

Wow, this one's Mood, Graphics, and Audio are off the charts! I love how well this came together, and you guys did a really nice job on the dash/slash mechanics. I also really like how the birds move around in a challenging pattern so you need to dash quickly enough to catch up to them, or catch them "off guard".

That's a cool movement system where you can left click to dash in the current direction, or use the aiming system to dash in any direction from your current position. I think that works really well here and gives you lots of options for interesting level design and more elusive enemies, if you decide to expand this game later. Excellent work, you guys!

HarvestCrisis by tyin 2023-01-13T04:03:56Z

Very fun game! The dash is really satisfying and the upgrades feel substantial and really useful. I love bursting straight upward out of the pile and hitting a few objects in the sky before plunging back down and scoring a bunch more points :) Great work on this!

Root Boy with Legs by shreemp 2023-01-13T03:37:57Z

The ending music is rad! Really fun style and animation. I love the zany interactions with the duck and the rocks. The whole scene reminds me of Star Road in Mario RPG. Nice work on finishing the jam!

Carvester by Chairshot Games 2023-01-11T00:40:12Z

Great idea! I love how different this feels, and the mechanics all work really well. Driving is fun, and the harvester is just wacky enough to feel like a challenge without being too unwieldy. The sprite work is excellent, especially having all the 8-sided sprites for the car. I really like that the levels show a good variety and aren't too hard to win. Excellent work on this one :)

Branch Out by svemir 2023-01-11T07:33:58Z

Very cool idea! I love the ability to see the roots growing in real time and change the angle just slightly so they end up in the perfect spot. The different reactions to water and leaves is really cool, too. Made me think of old school Missile Command a bit, except you get to be both the barrage and the defense! :)

Red Harvester by Forgin Bits 2023-01-13T06:07:57Z

Neat game! The graphics are clean and the driving is a good challenge. I like keeping an eye on the gauges so you can decide what to pick up next in your limited inventory. The music and sound effects are nice. It's handy having multiple drop-off points, too. The pesky space-tornado is always out to get me! :)

Boxed In by BurnsDesigns 2023-01-13T21:28:55Z

Simple, intuitive, and fun! I love this for the minimalist aesthetic, music, and gameplay that just keeps nudging you do one more lap :) I like the simple pleasure of jumping from one wall to another and sticking the landing just how I was hoping it'd work. Great work on the jam!

Tavuk by Chisenoa 2023-01-14T21:30:48Z

Neat art style and music! If you add more features later, I'd love the option to select tools with 1-5 keys instead of the mousewheel. The chicken sprites are great, haha. Chasing the chickens off reminds me a bit of Link to the Past with the chicken swarms; I kept expecting imminent retribution :P Nice job finishing the jam, you guys!

CardVest by RealTanHen 2023-01-12T01:36:09Z

Wow, very cool card game! This one is super chill and has great music and ambient forest/bird sounds that help set the tone right away. Even if I wasn't able to survive long, the serene soundscape and card art was really pleasant to experience. I like being able to buy from such a huge assortment of cards after every turn. Great idea to have the unique sound effects when every card is played, too!

Corn Clicker by GoMango99 2023-01-15T04:09:29Z

Buying extra cursors that auto-click for you was great, haha. Fun little set of simple mechanics that work together well. Nice job on the corn and rain particle effects too.

Y-COM: FIELD Defense by Metzkermeister 2023-01-13T01:50:47Z

Simple, fun game! Definitely makes me want to try "just one more round" :) Nice work on the scoreboard too. The sound and music works really well, and the graphics/lighting are good. I like having to decide whether to hit a UFO for points and slow my momentum a bit, or swerve around the UFO to keep my speed up and continue the combo chain. Nice work on a very enjoyable jam game!

score33.PNG

Seed Rampage by Erik Kubiak 2023-01-12T01:15:43Z

Very simple and fun little shooter! I like the idea of collecting seeds and growing new weapons/ammo before the next (chicken? :) horde arrives. The sound and music is great, and the low-poly art is well done. It's cool how you can strategically plant crops in certain fields to draw enemy aggro away from your other areas. Adding more fields to the world as each wave progresses is good system. Great job finishing all this for the jam!

score21.PNG

Soulful Harvest by cactusdan 2023-01-10T03:53:58Z

Cool game! I was impressed that you even added a whole tutorial stage to teach all the mechanics through practice. I like how the same attack can be used for combat and for harvesting. The double-jump feels really satisfying and punchy, and the short attack range took some getting used to, but I actually really like the challenge of it now! Great work on this one :)

Hivesters by HexStart 2023-01-15T06:16:43Z

This is a very cool RTS/tactics idea! Reminds me a bit of Myth crossed with Starcraft. I like being able to scroll around and/or use the minimap to see the potential routes and grain patches before making my first move. I also really like the option to swarm a few towers if needed, while not having enough bugs to destroy everything in your path. The dragging/pheromone concept is really neat, and while it can be a bit tricky to move around corners sometimes, it generally works well for smaller groups. Very nice work on quite a unique jam entry! :)

Raven Harvest by Cafe Spectrum Studio 2023-01-11T22:15:30Z

Fun game you ended up with, especially for only a few hours' work! The crow clicking system is cool and keeps the player engaged, and as @cutesquirrel mentioned it's really nice that you don't need to water/tend each plant in the same order or timeline. The progression of sprites is really neat too. I'm looking forward to seeing what you add in the next version!

score14.PNG

Raven Harvest by Cafe Spectrum Studio 2023-01-12T19:34:39Z

@cafe-spectrum-studio Wow, the new version is looking good already :) I like the new larger tree sprites and the new seed types. Definitely let us know when the new version is available to play!

Glean the Luminescent by jcg 2023-01-16T02:46:22Z

Really fun idea! I love that everything is connected to the concept of light/dark, and it's really cool how you balance what you're spending on buildings versus what you need to keep in the bank for illuminating the night battles. I also really liked being able to help during the fight, but mainly relying on the towers for the bulk of my defense. The minimal sound design is simple but pleasing as well.

I was able to survive for 10 days and get 262 light! score48.PNG

Troll-mart by SimonO 2023-01-13T00:21:50Z

Such a fun and unique platformer! The sound effects and music were spot-on, and the art/animation are excellent. I really enjoyed being able to traverse the levels in several different ways, and even using more tricky grappling/swinging techniques to climb faster as you become familiar with the level. The limited inventory also really meshes well with the different climbing paths, encouraging you to try different methods each time. You managed to capture some of the fun of SotC, while also expanding on some ideas and giving your game its own identity. Great job, you guys!

Buzzy Business by amarokczukay 2023-01-11T21:32:27Z

Excellently crafted! I love the amount of detail and polish you put into this. So many great little things like figuring out how to kill the frogs, moving more slowly as you get full, deciding between flying high/low around certain areas, and humans becoming more aware as you irritate them more over time. I also really like the different game over scenes, depending on how you died.

It's fun being able to strategize about which human to go after first, so you can save the more exposed ones for last when you're more vulnerable. Just a lot of really smart design decisions here, and a very impressive jam entry all around. I've played about 70-80 entries so far, and there are a lot of great games, but this one is the only one that's earned 5 stars across the board. Well earned!

Hermesh by Kultuk 2023-01-11T00:25:15Z

Easily one of the top three duck-soul-harvesting Metroidvanias that I've played today! :) This game is really well done, and I love the minimalist introduction and abilities that unlock one at a time as you explore. Also your art and sprite animation is so good! I just love the look of all of it: the main character, the ducks, the cats - it's all so fun to look at. I played all the way through and enjoyed every minute!

Harvest Soon by ImInSoftware 2023-01-15T06:44:47Z

Neat implementation of a mini survival game! The pixel art is charming and I like how simple and straightforward the systems are. The requirement to sleep at night is interesting, and is a great way to show the crop growth in substantial chunks of time. Discovering simple things is satisfying, like how you start with 5 water in your bucket but it can actually hold more than that. The world really reminds me of Zelda 1 or something, and I kept hoping to find secret walls or some hidden areas when out exploring the world. If you add more later, I'd love to play it!

nut another harvest story by WhaleJam 2023-01-16T01:22:50Z

This is fantastic! The art is so picturesque, and the music is the perfect choice. I love the parts of the scene fading in as various sentences unfold. Also, the writing is wonderfully done. Amazing detail and replayability for a jam game - wow! You guys should be extremely proud of such a high quality result.

score47.PNG

Slime Crime by No whOne 2023-01-21T19:57:13Z

This is a very fun little roguelite shooter! The polish and juice is off the charts. Every effect is very well done, from the animated arrows over dead enemies, to the level-up wings, to the fantastic harvesting. I found the stop-and-shoot jarring at first, but I actually kind of enjoy it now as an early game limitation. Would be cool to get an upgrade later that lets you shoot on the move.

The harvesting mechanic is cool and definitely adds some good challenge and tension to a fight, since you're rarely sure if it's safe to stop and harvest for a bit. I really like that the enemy bodies fade out over time, so your harvesting window is pretty limited and you need to prioritize which ones are safe to harvest and (presumably) which ones will give you the most soul/xp. Many of the upgrades synergize well, and it's fun to try a different type of spec on your next run. Excellent work on making a really fun, complete, satisfying game!

Hungry Hungry Horde by Wolforce 2023-01-12T02:41:30Z

Cool game idea! This is the only RTS I've played so far, out of quite a few entries. I like that you can get brains by either digging or fighting, so you can adjust your strategy depending on the horde's health at the time. The takeover mechanic is pretty fun, too, especially when you've got a big horde and you have to be careful to not do too much damage. The cloud/shade system is fun too, and something I haven't seen in other zombie games. Also, I didn't even notice the melee weapons until @knatterton mentioned it above, but that's a great idea!

Harvest Pen by Roroto Sic 2023-01-11T22:55:45Z

I like this idea! The different pen colors having different physical properties like roll/bounce/stick is a cool concept. I also like being able to pick fruit one at a time, so you can even get them to push each other to block each other from certain paths. Definitely keep us updated if you add more features after the jam!

Harvest Pen by Roroto Sic 2023-01-12T19:32:00Z

- @roroto-sic Nice job on the new version! You fixed all the crash issues and the framerate seems a bit better now :)

Bow Knight Drifter by Kostas Nik 2023-01-13T21:19:45Z

Very impressive combat, art, and overall design! The melee combat feels solid and even has screen shake and quality animations. The collecting/crafting/exploration loop is enjoyable. All the enemies are fun to fight, and the boss is extremely well done for a short jam. Even the player death animation is really detailed and smooth for such a short timeframe (I guess you knew I'd be dying a lot! :)

MONDO LABS by cannibalgirl 2023-01-09T22:36:36Z

Wow, very cool atmosphere in this one! I really like how different this felt from what I expected in the Harvest theme. The idea of harvesting nutrients from food and using specifically-needed sets of nutrients to fight disease is a really fun concept. The number of features and well-crafted tutorials is really impressive for such a short jam. Great work!

Ohio Simulator by Togposh 2023-01-13T02:05:23Z

Nice job on your game! The sprites and animation are good, and the explosion and scanline effects are well done too. The shooting and spread pattern are cool, and I like being able to plant crops in a pinch to draw the enemy aggro away from myself for a bit. It's nice how the player's HP is easy to see in the sprite tint. Being able to hit multiple enemies with a single blast is pretty fun, and definitely requires some skill to aim when things start getting hectic later. Great work finishing the jam! :)

Chronos: Harvest Time by Flaming Aardvark 2023-01-11T23:59:38Z

Cool idea and a fun melee combat system! The wind-up on the player and enemy attack animations is satisfying and really helps you dodge effectively. The giant scythe upgrade is fun. I like the increasing difficulty and carrot-shooting bosses later on. I thought the bonus heart system was really well done, too, and all the various mechanics just fit together nicely. Great job on your jam game!

Timeo Messorem by jmt 2023-01-12T01:52:59Z

Really unique idea here! The targeted combat reminds me a bit of old school Fallout 1 and 2. I think this could be expanded into a really fun game if you eventually add more enemy types, and maybe even some robots or something that has other types of limbs/tails/wings that can be grafted onto your own body. My game seemed to crash when I died, but I didn't mind reloading the page and playing through a few more times. The base game is complex enough that it was great you were able to finish it in one weekend, and then the art and environment/character animation in addition to that is impressive! Nice work on this :)

Golden Harvest by ayperosia 2023-01-15T06:59:05Z

Great game idea and execution! I love the concept of a pseudo-stealth game where you can get all kinds of upgrades to make you dragon-cave raids easier and more profitable over time. It took me a few runs to realize I could hide behind cover after the dragon was alerted and he'd go back to sleep so I could keep looting! This is a really cool idea and I'd love to see you expand it more after the jam. Nice work!

Harvest Party by WyGuyDev 2023-01-10T21:03:35Z

Easy to understand, and enjoyable to play! I like the throwing mechanic, and how each player has their own bin and area of the map. That was a great idea to have the high value resources like eggs and chickens move around as the match progresses, so players need to compete for the same limited resources. If you add more features later, I'd love to see an over-the-shoulder camera or the ability to see an arc of where I'm going to throw the food. Great job on getting this done for LD52! :)

Hi!Waste Tomato by Asahi 2023-01-10T20:40:56Z

The mood, sound, and effects here are excellent! I'm too dumb to solve some of these puzzles, but I really liked the ones that I finished :) I really like the mechanic where you're counteracting the wind with your character instead of manually pushing objects. I also really appreciated the fast-forward button so you could just start the wind whenever you were in position. Nice job on the unique art and puzzle design, too! :)

Orbital Oranges by MisterIXI 2023-01-09T22:07:31Z

Nice work on finishing as many features as you did, even though you didn't get to do all you wanted. The mood and music are really nice, and it's pretty fun to just float around and look at all the different floating objects, with the beautiful stars and galaxies in the background. Great job on LD52! :)

Dungeon of the Dragon by Ellie Rasmussen 2023-01-14T20:24:23Z

Whoa, this is such a cool idea! Lots of great little details in your design here. I really like that adventurers gain some health when they reach the treasure room, as if gaining some hope and a second wind. There's a really cool strategic element of building your defenses up slowly as the adventurers get steadily stronger, but not just spending all your gold on defenses too soon.

I love the mechanic where you can only spend gold if it's in your treasure room, so there's this balance between spending occasionally and saving some for adventurers to find in order to maintain your reputation. The animation/sound of gold dropping back into your treasure pile is so good! It really nails that Diablo 1 and 2 gold pile vibe. It's really cool how adventurers only take as much gold as they can personally carry (maybe based on their own strength/HP stat?).

I survived until almost 1,200 rounds, and I'm looking forward to beating that high score soon! score36.PNG

Haymaker by Bobbo 2023-01-11T03:16:41Z

Wow, I love this one! Your control scheme works really well, and the grid is chunky enough that it doesn't feel too overwhelming. I also really like your design choice to allow the player to place blocks partially outside the grid. Great overall presentation and audio design, too. This is a great idea for larger puzzle game, and I'd love to see what you do with it after the jam!

Scarecrow's Dangerous Job by gubidubi 2023-01-09T21:42:06Z

Nice execution of this idea! I like the Harvest theme here being that you need to protect your turret crops long enough for them to grow and eventually defend you. If you happen to add some more features later, I'd love to be able to hold down the button to shoot, and be able to see my health. It might even be fun to be able to plant health-giving crops that heal you over time or produce one item you can eat later to heal up. Great job on your jam game!

Zomvester by Goodbye_Flash 2023-01-15T02:53:01Z

Fun idea for a harvest game! I really like the choice between letting plants grow for a while versus harvesting them early. The PvZ-like base defense aspect is great. I also really like how water needs to be discovered outside your base, nudging you to leave your cozy garden and take on more risk (especially when the zombies are really fast later!). Great execution of a cool idea, and I hope you consider adding more features after the jam!

Catchy by danmerey 2023-01-13T04:59:37Z

It's amazing how polished and atmospheric this feels, even without audio yet! Quite an impressive feat for a weekend jam. The subtle rain and fog effects are really nice, and the quest system is a great way to encourage exploration in every direction. The sail rotation system works well and urges you to occasionally change your plan on-the-fly and explore a new area on a whim (just see where the wind takes you!). The automatic speed upgrades over time is nice too, and gives a good incentive to keep fishing just for fun, even after a given quest is completed. Very nice work on this one!

Tattie Season by Marton 2023-01-14T21:23:23Z

I like this art style and the audio matches it perfectly! The music is really atmospheric and is reminiscent of the Majula area in Dark Souls 2. The subtle walking/jumping sounds are really good. Bouncing off an enemy is always satisfying. The parallax background effect is well done and gives a nice sense of scale to the level. You guys did a great job getting this done - nice jam submission!

Olive Harvest by reivilibre 2023-01-11T07:17:11Z

Such a zany, fun idea for a game! I love the really cute, goofy characters and animations you packed into this game. Everything is just so satisfying: the olive shaking, the wheelbarrow gathering, stomping olives in the press, and getting dragged away in the back of the truck by accident! The kiwi carrying an extra jar of olive oil on his beak is a great touch. Even small details like the challenge of fitting the wheelbarrow through a tight space is fun and interesting. I adore this game's art and would definitely love to see more of it. Very well done!

Tough Luck Mr. Harvard by smashcrate 2023-01-11T21:51:07Z

Cool, I had fun playing this one! The lightning-catching mechanic reminded me of Spiritfarer a bit, which is great! The upgrade/shop system is really neat, and it was fun to be able to afford a new upgrade almost every level. I like the progression of being buffeted by the wind on the kite at first, and then eventually having much more control with the jetpack. The weapon upgrades are pretty solid, too. I really enjoyed being able to time your movement so that the lightning itself would pick off a few enemies at a time. Nice work on a very solid jam entry! :)

Wandering Crops by FionaSprinkles 2023-01-10T00:36:24Z

Nice work on this one, and great job finishing your first jam game! The gameplay reminds me a bit of Plants vs Zombies, and I really like the turn-based strategy loop you've designed. The overall concept is very cool, and similar to real-world crop rotations to keep the soil nutrient-dense. Welcome to the Ludum Dare community, and I'm looking forward to seeing what you do next! :)

The Time Traveler's Garden by Drizzle Games 2023-01-16T02:13:56Z

This is the most I've died trying to make a sandwich before :) Wow - this is a very smart concept! I was totally caught off-guard when going through the portal. I'd love to see you guys expand this into a longer game. You could do all sorts of things with traveling to different areas and time periods to be able to grow very specific plants.

Or maybe you start the game in the future when certain foods no longer exist, and you have to time travel back to get the seeds. Maybe you can't bring items back and forth through time, so you need to plant the seeds in the past and defeat a boss to prevent them from destroying the seedlings. And @phillip-scott's idea to swap out or upgrade to new kitchen tools/weapons over time would be amazing!

Space Harvest Wreckage - Extreme 2001 by Melchizedek6809 2023-01-10T02:51:21Z

I gave this one five stars for both mood and atmosphere - very effective! Nice job on getting the zero gravity controls to look really good in action, with the tiny jets animating on your suit for each input angle. I wasn't able to get very far without running out of oxygen, but I could see a later version of this being very interesting and eerie to explore! Great work on your jam entry! :)

H.A.R. VEST by Breaddysticks 2023-01-12T01:27:53Z

Looks like a lot of work went into this one - nice job, guys! The teleport mechanic lends itself well to some unexpected puzzle solutions, and the 3D environments and puzzles are well done for such a short timeframe. The music and sounds are effective, too. I liked being able to solve puzzles in different ways, like being able to teleport past the three laser beams, or jump up and disable the generator from a distance. Impressed that you finished all these features in a weekend!

Corn Horror Harvest by Rhum 2023-01-12T04:05:02Z

Lots of cool polish on this one! The different music tracks are great, the combat is fun, and the RPG upgrade system makes it exciting to return to base after each level. The pixel art is really nice. It has a really good variety of enemies and bosses, and they're balanced well. The small touches are fantastic also, like the short cutscene of the wounded player running back to town. Nice difficulty curve and final boss fight, too!

PROTECT THE HARVEST by Sam Cousins 2023-01-11T05:40:34Z

Fun game! Out of quite a few LD games, this is actually the only FPS I've played so far. Pretty impressive for your first 3D game, too. I love the "(badgers?)" bit in your description, haha. I like how the level is small enough that you can keep an eye on everything, but the hay bales are large enough that you need to move around frequently to check for badgers sneaking toward you. Very enjoyable to play - nice work!

Harvest Shroom by Achilnos 2023-01-11T00:53:24Z

Really cool idea for a puzzle game! Memorizing the correct mushroom combinations as you go through each level is fun, and it quickly becomes tricky. The art and animation is so good. Music, too! You guys should be proud of all you accomplished in one weekend!

Boar'd'Hell by Blublu 2023-01-09T21:34:10Z

score1.PNG Cool idea for a rhythm game! I found it quite challenging to keep the movement rhythm synced on the left/right sides, and also manage the horn and combo meter. This is a great take on the jam theme, and a pretty unique game mechanic in its own right.

Also that ending where everything crawls to a halt and then explodes actually made me laugh out loud. Great work on this one! My top score is 200,999 so far :)

Combine Harv-racer by procrasteroid 2023-01-11T06:57:01Z

Excellent music (Blast Corps vibes!) and great little details all over this one. I love how the cows slowly start encroaching on the track as you keep racing, and the spin-out is a nice little homage to Mario Kart. I like how you can even see the wheat regrowing in real time, frame by frame. Great work all around! :)

Rot Waits for No One by giuti 2023-01-11T19:49:28Z

Very enjoyable! I love the music, art, characters, and hectic gameplay. The interface layout looks nice and is pretty intuitive overall. I really like that your shop has an overall rating that is affected by your daily performance, so you can make up for a bad day by doing better in the future. Good variety of veggies to sell, and that was a great design choice to only have 8-12 growing slots so the player really has to prioritize how many of each item to grow, and exactly when to plant certain things. I also like how you can set up as many delivery boxes as you want, and sort of pre-plan some deliveries with extra food you've grown earlier. Great work on this game, you guys!

Fun game! I love your sprites and the cooking menu for making so many different dishes with just a few components. Techno Plants by morpheyz 2023-01-10T00:53:49Z

Excellent work! This is one of the most fun games I've played from LD52 so far. The rhythm-based movement works well, and I really like that you've simplified it only 3 buttons. I also like the very clear objective of just needing to reach the water, while the complexity comes from random level generation and creatures with various movement patterns. Also, the headbanging sunflower is a fantastic detail, haha. Great jam entry! :)

Lunaculture by Auros 2023-01-12T03:29:21Z

Wow, this is very impressive for a weekend jam. Nice job, you guys! All the models and animations are well done, and I really like the gradually-growing plants so you can tell exactly when they'll be ready to harvest. The resource extractors are a neat addition. I initially missed that the Building Blueprint requires 100 resources rather than 100 credits, but that makes sense now.

The progression to better food sources over time is fun, and in a future version it would be cool to see more reasons to keep growing all types of food, rather than just the newest one that sells for a bit more. For example, maybe the colony could request a certain amount of corn, tomatoes, potatoes, etc in the next week's shipment. Very nice work on completing all these features so quickly! It's a lot of fun :)

Jacques Boomer's Garden by Globul 2023-01-10T22:52:47Z

Fun gameplay loop! I really like the ability to push enemies off the ledge and make them loop around to the top of the screen. The watering/harvesting is a fun challenge and a cool way to regain health and progress to the next level. At first I didn't understand how to move to different levels and horizontally to other platforms, but once I figured it out it was a fun way to stay clear of the enemies and water/harvest while they weren't looking. Nice job on your game!

Hectic Harvest by Junglerally 2023-01-22T01:48:08Z

Cool TD game! Allowing the enemies to destroy both towers and walls was new to me, and definitely a fun idea. I've played a lot of other TD games but usually they let you create a maze that the enemies just have to snake through instead of actually being able to destroy anything in their path, so this was a refreshing change of pace and really made me plan out my base and tower positions a bit differently.

I also liked that while enemies *could* destroy things, they'd still prefer to take the path of least resistance and essentially rush the far wall, if possible. The harvesting/money system was cool too, sort of like a variation of the PvZ sunflowers that you need to protect so they can keep producing. Great work on designing a TD that's fun, stable, and feels complete for a jam game!

Soul Harvest by twilightrh 2023-01-11T05:49:33Z

Fun idea, and a good mixture of mechanics here! I like when things ramp up and you're defending the rocket from laser worms and deciding whether to use your last bit of fuel to power your own laser gun or pour it into your ship. You've created a really nice variety of enemies in one weekend, and the sprite art and animation is nice. Great job finishing your game!

Enjoyed this one! You managed to add a lot of cool stacking upgrades in one jam. The music is cool, the models/animations are fun, and the shooting and spawning is really well balanced. I like the expanding map over time, boss fights, and the challenge of running back into the fray to grab loot. I also love when you reach the point that the entire field is surrounded by bouncing beets - reminds me of a Paper Mario boss fight :) Great work on this game!

Dark Harvest by JakeJet 2023-01-12T21:50:03Z

Great little game here! The mood is fantastic and the light/shadows/sounds lend to the tension so well. The monster AI is good, and I like that they don't move too quickly as long as you watch your back and don't get boxed in. The different ore types being worth different amounts was a nice touch, and I was always excited when I'd spot a green/purple glint in the distance. My current high score is 90, but I'm hoping to top 100 soon! :D

F.U.D: Food Under Development by Stellar Lily 2023-01-10T00:10:41Z

Great game! The cooking process reminded me of a mixture between Overcooked and Spiritfarer. I really like the ability to both grow plants and cook them in the same gameplay loop. The recipe discovery is fun too, actually being able to experiment and either be lucky on your first guess, or accidentally discover a different result that you can use later. I'd love to play an expanded version where there's more nuanced food growing/collection/buying/automation that you can use to fuel your kitchen creations. Very nice work!

Heile Welt by SmallMiracles 2023-01-12T23:29:03Z

Cool game! Like a mini-Harvest Moon that you can enjoy in just a few minutes. The sprites and animation are nicely done, and I like the simple but effective sound effects and scoring system. I also like how intuitive everything is with just WASD/click. Great work on finishing the jam!

Harvy Tile by Miolosh 2023-01-11T07:50:56Z

Relaxing and very fun! I love how low-stress this game is. You can just sit back and enjoy the art and animated critters without worrying about getting stuck on a really difficult puzzle. I could legitimately see this selling pretty well on Steam if you polished the graphics and expanded the gameplay mechanics slightly. Reminds me of the best part of Islanders and Dorfromantik. Definitely keep working on this after the jam if you're enjoying it!

Vegan Robot Takeaway by coder2k 2023-01-11T06:12:33Z

Cool ideas here! I like the RTS-like controls where you need to select the bot and order it around. It might be fun in a future version to have multiple chefs you can assign to different tasks, or drag a box around them to select everyone and have them finish one task more quickly. I really like how you made the plants grow smoothly over time so you can tell exactly when they'll be ready to cook.

It was also a smart choice to make the player buy individual ingredients, so they need to plan out their menu in advance and make sure they have enough of each item on hand for incoming orders. If you happen to add more features later, I'd love to see a second or third prep station where you could be cooking multiple dishes at the same time (especially when you have 2-3 orders pending and nowhere to cook for a while). Great job on your finished game!

Harvest of Life by schnodelfactory 2023-01-13T03:32:46Z

My character got high at a club, failed out of school, botched his job interview, went to prison, died after insulting his cellmate, and then became a zombie. Looking forward to chapter 2! :)

Very cool art style! That's impressive that you got all the sketches, animations, writing, and transitions done in one jam weekend! There's a good amount of player choice here, and it's cool to see that you even added two different endings. Nice work on your game!

A Grain for Grim by enducube 2023-01-13T03:21:26Z

Definitely a good foundation here for more features after the jam! The steady development of new shops, random encounters, and dangers to ward off is a good idea and gives you something to investigate and explore while you're waiting on crop growth. I like being able to switch between scythe/water whenever you need them. The double meaning of "harvest" here is cool - both the grim reaper harvesting your earnings occasionally, and your player harvesting their own crops. Nice job getting all of this implemented in a short jam! :)

Soul Harvester by Accatosh 2023-01-15T00:37:36Z

You've got a nice mix of interesting mechanics in this one! The enemy variety is good, and switching between combat and absorbing souls is a great challenge. I like the shop and the upgrades that increase over time while healing remains relatively affordable. The new caster enemies that show up after a while keep things fresh, and I really like how you give the player time to relax after each wave to collect souls and upgrade.

If you add more to your game after the jam, I'd love to see more "quality of life" upgrades in the shop. Maybe things like being able to hold down the fire button, absorb souls automatically or at slightly longer range, shoot faster, learn new damage spells, and maybe even dodge ranged attacks. You've done a great job designing some very cool ideas here!

Data Baron by Ravernt 2023-01-10T20:01:17Z

This is a fun one, and very well done for your first jam game ever! At first I didn't realize you actually had to type the letter combos, but it was really fun and engaging when I got used to it. I like the multiplier system, too. The mixture of repeating keys, combined keys, and subsequent keys is a good variety and keeps things fresh. I also love when your same inputs are solving two windows at once. Very well done, and welcome to Ludum Dare!

Deep Harvest VII by Bloodfin 2023-01-09T21:57:26Z

Wow, you guys really nailed the atmosphere and lonely/eerie mood in this one! The methodical crawling across the ocean floor and carefully collecting things with the mechanical arm was really cool. I also love the system where the collected item deposits in the interior slot so you can inspect it more closely. Very much reminded me of Subnautica's exploration, which is a great thing. Nice work!

Backyard Fruitball by twchapman 2023-01-10T23:46:01Z

Definitely a fun little game idea! I like how the apple's arc is a bit different every time so you have to adjust the catcher's movement on the fly. If you add more features, it'd be fun to have even more variation to fruit angles, so they might get hit really high in the air, or split in half and you'd have to catch both pieces. Great job on getting this finished, even though you weren't able to use the whole jam window!

Adorable Armageddon by deppong 2023-01-11T01:22:50Z

Definitely a very cute game with a great mix of music, art, and sound effects! Would love to see you expand this after the jam and turn it into a real game. I think the plush animals exploding into stuffing and cute upgrades could make for a really relaxing and cute tower defense game that no one's really done before. I also really like that ability to collect upgrades directly from enemies and slot them into the tower primary/secondary slots, kind of like an RPG character gear system. I'm not sure if that's been done before in other TD games, but it's the first time I've seen it and it's smart!

Apollo 111 by Kazzter 2023-01-13T06:43:45Z

Wow, excellent work on the overall style here! The music suits the gameplay perfectly, and the sprite art and animations are so good! I love that you can actually see the scout ship launch toward its objective. The food incubators, scouting, and energy collection is balanced well and really fun to manage without being overwhelming. Great job on every aspect of this one, you guys!

Dr Bentham by hmrpf 2023-01-10T21:40:51Z

Nicely done! I gave this 5 stars for theme, graphics, audio, and mood! Really creepy and atmospheric, especially when the music fades and you just have the heartbeat monitor pinging in the background. I like this concept for the Harvest theme and it's definitely a good challenge to keep as many people alive as possible. Btw I love this bit in the description: "but between the fast decrepitude and the bugs i didn’t fixed, it’s not gonna be easy." Great job on your LD52 game!

LD53 — Delivery

Dave's Pizzas by OddballDave 2023-05-05T20:15:18Z

Excellent compo entry! I can't believe how much you were able to implement in a weekend. The vehicle physics feel good and it's a great challenge to drive over sand dunes and try to keep your speed/traction in check so you don't spin out.

You've added lots of cool little physics details, audio details with the radio, nice-to-have gameplay features like the objective compass and the timer for both pickups and deliveries. I also really like that the delivery spots are hand-crafted and not just randomly placed. Especially ones like the top of the building/ramp are a great choice and feel very well designed. There's just something really cool about the idea of a post-apocalyptic delivery game, and I hope you expand this one more after the jam!

Astra Delivery by LTyrosine 2023-05-04T01:18:28Z

Wow, you put a lot of work into this one! The simulation feels really smooth and the models are great. I really enjoyed just flying around and testing out different arcs/approaches to each landing area. The trajectory and height indicators are a really nice touch and very helpful at times. It took me a while to get used to the controls, but I think I was getting pretty decent after a while. This is quite impressive for a short weekend jam game!

Space Express by gmaker 2023-05-03T06:33:29Z

This is a really solid evolution of the spin/launch mechanic! I really enjoyed playing this one. It's fun trying to gauge how strong the gravity of a given planet is, and just barely skirt around the edge of a sun to arrive safely at the next planet. The fuel/cargo mechanic is pretty neat too, with the player making interesting decisions about how far to fly versus how many packages they can pick up in one jump. I played this one for quite a while longer that I was expected to. Nicely done!

Goblin Trail by tukisboolukis 2023-05-02T20:51:39Z

Very cool game! The art and sound is great, and balancing your cart's cargo space is really fun. I love finding the balance between archers and loading enough cargo to make the trip worthwhile. It's also really cool that the goldmine area lets you rest and rebalance, but doesn't have as many things to collect. Alternating between shooting and dodging keeps you engaged through the whole trip. After playing a decent number of jam entries today, this is easily one of my top three!

Golden Hour by Tyrannas 2023-05-03T20:45:19Z

This game is gorgeous! The effects like fog, waves, and cannonball trails are fantastic. The controls are super smooth and fun to use. Music and sfx are perfectly suited. I'm still not quite sure how you did the island heights and reflections, but the style is brilliant. The gameplay is immediately intuitive and fun - definitely gives me Black Flag vibes! Love this game; great work!

Good Boy! by DJTequila 2023-05-04T01:23:31Z

I love this concept! That's great how different tactics/patterns needed to used against various types of mailmen. There's something just very different and fun about controlling a dog and being able to sit/bark/view the world from a different perspective. Nice work on your game!

Pack 'em UP! by Timbaleek 2023-05-04T06:08:52Z

Very fun little idea! I love being able to assemble orders first and then physically deliver them around town. This could be a really fun full-size game if you decide to expand it after the jam. Great work!

Contraband Critters: A Tactical Transporter by makerart 2023-05-03T01:27:48Z

Fun game concept! I like the ability to stop/start units at any time. It feels a bit like old school Rainbow Six where you plan which units start from certain locations, and then execute the plan and make changes in realtime. The robot stats are cool, and feel distinct enough to create some cool strategies if you end up adding more levels after the jam. The physics getting thrown around as you move is a nice touch, too. Great work! :)

Message Delivered by velvetlobster 2023-05-03T05:36:09Z

Impressive for a weekend jam! You really nailed the atmosphere and added a lot of cool menu functionality here. The minimal music and sound is great. And you even added window open/close animations! Very well done.

Holiday Halfpipe by Marcus Otterstrom 2023-05-02T19:05:38Z

Wow, this one is nicely done! The music and sound effects are great, and the graphics are nice and clean. The random level generation works really well and the steadily increasing speed feels like a good challenge. Reminds me a bit of Alto's Adventure but this one definitely has it's own unique identity and feel. Nice work all around!

Olympus Food Delivery by SolidHinken 2023-05-04T05:27:06Z

Definitely a fun idea! I actually really liked the amount of forgiveness in the flight mechanics and the cloud bouncing is really enjoyable. It's difficult to get really fun movement controls working during a short jam, but you did an admirable job!

Fork This by LeYamez 2023-05-04T02:13:25Z

This is amazing for a weekend jam game! The maze-like warehouse layout was a smart design decision, and it was always fun to navigate around to new objectives. Launching off ramps was a lot of fun too, and I really like how the physics feel realistic but are reigned in a bit so you can't flip over or get stuck. I also love how there are a lot of quality-of-life features like how it's pretty easy to keep the cargo on the fork while you're flying around a corner. Super impressive all around - great work! :)

Winged Delivery by Ninnec 2023-05-03T06:08:18Z

Good gameplay, and a very helpful playable tutorial! The character animation is a nice touch, as is the forgiving nature of the matching order. The difficulty pacing seems pretty good and I was able to keep up most of the time. Managed to get 62 delivered! :)

Souls: The Gathering by Shadowmyst 2023-05-03T04:52:09Z

Pretty fun turn-based strategy game you've got here! The chunky pixel art is nice, and the XCOM-lite gameplay is relatively intuitive and enjoyable. I really like the idea of having to recover souls in the field and bring them back to base before you can spend them. The health system works well and I like how the individual hearts show instead of just a bar. The tutorial at the start is really nice, too, and helped me get right into the action. Great work! :)

Shipyard Mercury by chompdev 2023-05-02T06:21:21Z

@bmacintosh - Thanks for the kind words! Glad you were able to figure out the wing placement; I agree that it could definitely be smoothed out a bit.

@risingleaf - Happy to hear you had fun! Yeah, our original idea was to have ship parts delivered to you through the warpgate, and then you'd assemble them and manually pilot the ship to its final delivery point. We ran out of time today and didn't get to finish the ship flight/delivery part. Thanks for playing! :)

@mlists - That's really nice to hear! Thanks for the encouragement. I love that idea of having multiple parts at a time and trying to figure out which order to install them. I'm definitely excited to explore some ideas like that in a post-jam version!

Shipyard Mercury by chompdev 2023-05-03T22:05:22Z

@daniillenin - Thank you for playing! Glad you found it relaxing. We really wanted to allow the player to use the cockpit and fly the ship away at the end, but had to cut that feature on the last day. I'm looking forward to trying that in the post-jam version! :)

@jampla-games - Awesome, glad you reached the end! Thanks for the balance feedback. I'm happy to hear the highlight was a helpful feature.

@jimmybobb - That's nice to hear you enjoyed it! Thank you for the nice, helpful comments :)

Shipyard Mercury by chompdev 2023-05-04T18:47:13Z

@bopohx - Thanks! Glad to hear you liked the visuals and music!

@aivaxela - Haha yeah that window piece and a few others can be a bit tricky! Flying away at the end of the level would be so cool - I look forward to adding that feature after the jam :)

@wolfier - Thank you for the kind words, Wolf! That's excellent feedback about part names. That was actually part of the original design but had to be cut on the last day. I think you're right that it would add a lot to the game.

Shipyard Mercury by chompdev 2023-05-10T20:40:14Z

@tomas-paim - Thanks, Tomas! I'm happy to hear you found it relaxing. Yeah I really wanted to add more internal components like the doors but didn't have time for everything else. It's nice to hear that was enjoyable!

@braveskin - Much appreciated! That's really great feedback. I definitely want to explore some more difficult puzzle ideas after the jam. On the first day of the jam, we actually had multiple parts the player could install at one time, and we ended up streamlining that later with the one-at-a-time objectives. I totally agree with you that it ended up on the easy side :)

@colinweiss - Thank you for the kind words, Colin! I'm slowly learning that during jams, very often "less is more".

Lost address by Meenakshi 2023-05-03T04:44:23Z

Cool graphics and character design! That's fun to search door to door and never know what to expect when they open. I found the shooting slightly difficult while in the air, but I started to get the hang of it after a few minutes. I really like the mechanic where friendly NPCs give you hints at which way to go next. Nice job on your game!

Deliver letters... IN SPACE by Phoenix Fireflower 2023-05-02T23:30:42Z

This is such a cool idea! It's kinda like a blend of Space Invaders and Scrabble. I really like having to only focus on vowels and the question mark, and the option to destroy entire lines when you're stuck. The controls are solid and intuitive, and the graphics are really nice. Great job!

Ice Break Delivery by SneakyFox 2023-05-04T05:20:17Z

Fun game! The music and sfx are really nice, and the gameplay is solid. There's something really satisfying about the back-and-forth of trying to steal a fish back from a big mob of penguins. It's also really fun to dash around the edge of a pond and cause all the pursuing penguins to fall in. Very good work on this one! :)

K9 Express by Skleembof 2023-05-05T19:58:14Z

This is a fun idea! I love the concept of dashing around as a greyhound and essentially speedrunning between locations, launching off of ledges, and finding the most efficient paths to the next delivery point. You've designed an impressively large map for a jam weekend, and the controls work pretty well in general. Regarding controls, @batisdark noted an important point that speed can sometimes be more of a hazard than a benefit, so maybe in the post-jam version you could make the turning more responsive as your speed increases (or maybe even let you lean into the turn as you take a sharp corner, like you would on a motorcycle).

One thing I'd love to have is a jump ability to either long-jump over gaps or scramble up ledges (almost parkour-style like Mirror's Edge freerunning). Great work on this one. Do you have any plans to expand this idea after the jam? I'd love to play more of your future iterations.

K9 Express by Skleembof 2023-05-05T20:54:44Z

@skleembof - That's really cool that you're going to keep working on this during the next jam! I'm looking forward to playing more, so definitely drop me a message here if you have time after the next jam. I know exactly what you mean about running out of time and having to cut features on the last day, but thankfully you were able to pull together a pretty fun set of mechanics and map design here. Good stuff!

Delivery Boy Express by civmaniac 2023-05-03T22:41:31Z

This one is very fun! I found myself just flying around space and enjoying the movement itself rather than worrying about objectives (at the start). The ability to drive around the planet surface and do tricks is really enjoyable, as is being able to make a perfect landing and glide smoothly down to a planet surface. It's also very fun to just circle a planet repeatedly, feathering the throttle to keep your bike floating at a consistent height as you orbit. Great work designing so many fun mechanics and controls in one weekend!

Postominoes by Rawb 2023-05-04T06:15:43Z

This is amazing! I love this idea of packing up your truck in a certain order based on the route you're planning to take around town. The controls are very fluid and intuitive, and the gameplay is just satisfying and fun the whole time. I also really like how easy it is to use the on-screen truck and map icons. Great sound and music, too. Excellent work all around!

Spacella by Dandala88 2023-05-03T20:00:50Z

Wow, this game is beautiful! I love the parallax gas clouds, stars, and floating debris. The music fits perfectly. The gameplay took me a few minutes to figure out, but I actually really like how the waypoint queues work. Would love to see you add more to this one after the jam!

Rat Souls: The Ferryrat by Kristian Kurktchiev 2023-05-06T02:29:30Z

Wow, great work! This one gets a 5/5 Mood rating from me because you did a great job eliminating anything that would take away from the atmosphere and story exposition here. I think for a jam game, you scoped this really well and were just able to focus on the writing, character development, and interesting animated scenes between each tunnel choice.

The writing was very well done, and the music is excellent too. I like how it drip-feeds the player little details as you make progress, rather than having a big lore dump at the start/end of a delivery. Very nicely executed on all fronts - you guys deserve a great score!

APOCATRUCKS - Post-apocalyptic delivery tower defence by iamdavidmt 2023-05-07T20:19:03Z

Fun idea! My best score so far is 27,960. This is almost like Vampire Survivors combined with Foxhole. I think you could do a lot with this formula after the jam. It might be interesting to add some automation or at least queue up future routes for each truck, so you can focus on managing other parts of your base and supply lines instead of needing to reassign them every few seconds. I think you could get a lot of interesting gameplay out of this by adding more resource types, maybe different types of trucks (like a gunner patrol or an engineer crew), and maybe setting up roads (and defenses along each) that can increase the travel speed of any trucks on that route.

FlipTheBox by bubul69 2023-05-05T22:27:00Z

Wow! This is a very, very cool idea! I love how you were able to get so much interesting gameplay out of a single room, and really it ended up being about a dozen different puzzles in one, which is impressive. Just when I thought I'd solved it every possible way, a new objective would pop up and make me realize there was more to this than I first realized.

That's great how put the tutorial and controls right on the UI, so the player never feels lost or confused. The movement controls are intuitive and easy to get used to. The objectives are easy to understand, and reminiscent of Portal where most of the puzzles are just about getting the box from point A to point B, with some twists thrown in. It's really nice having the instant-restart key, too - thanks for including that!

A minor suggestion would be to turn off the snap-to-stairs option by default (and maybe have a way to enable it in the menu), since I found that it interfered with my movement a bit when rushing to finish the 20-second objectives. And one other small improvement I might suggest would be to have the input/output pipes be different colors, since at the beginning I wasn't sure which yellow (open) pipe to deliver to.

All in all, this is fantastic puzzle game and I think it has great potential for a post-jam version or even an eventual Steam release. Great work on this! Do you plan to add more to it after the jam?

Unspecified Postage Service by EmeraldAlkemist 2023-05-03T20:15:58Z

Cool concept! I wasn't able to figure out (level 5?) with the vertical column of springs. It's really nice having the instant restart key. This is the first one I've played where you're actually playing as the delivery itself :) Great work!

GONETS. Supply delivery TD by DaniilLenin 2023-05-02T05:54:54Z

I really enjoyed this one! The atmosphere generated by the sound, music, graphics, and methodical gameplay is very well done. I really like how the combat lights up the clouds in that direction so you can immediately see who needs the next ammo delivery. Nice job on having the main menu teach you the controls, too. The momentum takes a few minutes to get used to, but I ended up really enjoying the challenge. Very solid game, here!

Parcelmecium by Bokonon 2023-05-04T04:40:31Z

I love the polish and style display here! There are fun little animations and juicy effects all over the place, and the gameplay is solid and intuitive. It's amazing you guys were able to do all this in a single weekend. Congrats on a very cool jam entry!

Strange Supplying by Mrtubagames 2023-05-02T23:48:48Z

I love how fun and challenging this one was! It feels like you scoped it very appropriately in terms of new mechanics and a good number of well-designed levels. There was a nice ebb and flow of difficulty spikes and areas to relax after each one. I also really like how you doled out new mechanics on each level to keep things interesting and keep the player learning new tricks all the time. I managed to reach 2nd place on the leaderboard! :)

Space Delivery Simulator by Poppy Entertainment 2023-05-05T19:41:39Z

Fun game, and the music is perfect! Reminds me a bit of Spaceteam. Very nice pixel art, too!

Air Fast Chaos by MadR 2023-05-03T05:01:48Z

Great presentation! The tutorial splash screen is excellent, and the music immediately hooked me. I like how pedestrians and cars are obstacles for the cops as well as the player. The health is well balanced and gives you the opportunity to make a few mistakes without losing. Nice work on the character designs and run animations, too. I got to about level 5 before things got too hectic, but really enjoyed playing!

INTACT™ by pierogo 2023-05-03T22:27:35Z

Very cool idea! I love how the deliveries are not only your objective, but also your weapon and directly intertwined with the throwing/catching/rolling mechanics. It's really cool how the dungeon layout evolves as you go, and the steadily-increasing difficulty curve is well done. The animations are great, the art is great, the sound and music are great - just a very well executed entry all around!

Operation XP: Cy-punk Rush by Alexkik1515 2023-05-05T19:07:38Z

Fun jam idea! The character's run animation is remarkably detailed for a jam game, and the environment is cool. This reminds me of that parkour game called Vector. It took me a minute to realize that I could hold down the slide key to keep sliding as long as I want, which makes things a bit easier.

In addition to the helpful camera improvements that @evgeniya and @cambryx suggested, I'd also recommend shrinking the player/obstacle hitboxes a bit so it's easier to clear larger objects while jumping. Great work on finishing your jam game!

The living deadlivery by Stingby12 2023-05-06T19:03:39Z

You've designed some excellent puzzles here! The ghost mechanic is a really cool idea and definitely expands this type of puzzle in a very interesting way. I love how you introduce new mechanics every few levels to keep the player engaged and learning new tricks constantly. The difficulty curve is very good, too. The graphical style is great and I really like how easily-readable your pixel art is. Fantastic work on this one - you should be very proud of it!

Bullet Worm by resacaGames 2023-05-05T19:34:02Z

This one feels so polished! Lots of nice features like the volume slider, a (DOZEN!) different music tracks, and a smooth tutorial that rolls out step-by-step as you play through the first section. The colors palette is nice, and the bright edges make it easy to spot items when you're cruising around quickly.

A few small changes you might consider are #1 not allowing the pickups to use colors that are too close to the black holes. I ran into a couple pickups that were so dark that I couldn't tell if they were pickups or black holes. Small change #2 that I'd prefer is to reduce the angular velocity when completing a sharp turn. The character continues to turn for a while after I let go of the key, and that sometimes makes it difficult to pick up the item I'm trying to get.

All in all, this is a very nicely-done entry and you should be very proud of this one!

Magic Map of Adria by Shiiro 10psi 2023-05-02T06:57:40Z

Cool idea! I like how you've taken the tile-sliding puzzle formula and added individual tile values and also some interplay between each map's itinerary. I'm not the world's best puzzle solver, so I really like that you've added the flexibility to move back and forth between maps and improve your routes over time to save more time/gold by fine-tuning the travel routes. The music is nice, and I really like how each map has a region title and some unique flavor text. The puzzles are tricky but a solid challenge and I think I'm getting the hang of it after testing out the mechanics and tile variations in each. Great job on this one!

Deliver Inc. | A Delivery Simulator by innocuousuk 2023-05-04T00:44:23Z

Neat vehicle physics and level design! I played this one for quite a while and just enjoyed driving around and exploring the city in a relaxed manner, trying to keep all my cargo onboard. I also love the ability to upgrade the truck's stats over time. I think that could be a really fun system in an expanded version of this, where you need to climb steeper hills and deliver to offroad destinations, requiring you to continue upgrading to reach more interesting and varied areas outside the city limits. Great work on your jam entry!

If I Fits, I Sits by Vykri 2023-05-03T23:55:04Z

Package Panic by indigoninja 2023-05-02T19:37:44Z

I really like this concept! The idea of being a stealth/vigilante mailman is pretty funny and leads to some fun sneaking and the choice between staying hidden and bonking someone with a box. The suspicion meter is a good mechanic and I like how it's lenient enough to let you escape after getting spotted, and allows you to learn and experiment a bit before you get a gameover. I also really like the random package/letter spawning and the easily-identifiable neighborhood quadrants. This is a great jam game that's scoped really well and fun to play immediately. Nice job!

MindWave: Unraveling Memories by Igor Minenko 2023-05-03T01:15:43Z

Nice work on the level design! Most of these levels look easy at first but are a really good challenge in practice. The limited number of moves each level is a nice restriction and actually helps you understand what to expect. The character animation and tile designs are pretty neat, too!

COLD CHEDDAR by deadjolly 2023-05-03T01:45:46Z

This is a really fun little delivery game! It's a blast being able to pick up orders from any nearby restaurant and quickly memorize what certain customers want as you fly by. The car sprites are great and the driving is fun. Good work on the audio and variety of objectives, too. Nice work - you should be proud of this one!

Dear friend by hmrpf 2023-05-03T01:06:59Z

Wow, wonderful art style! The hand-drawn graphics really steal the show here, and the music/sfx are perfectly integrated too. The smooth flight mechanics feel really good, and I love how the color choices help to pop out the foreground elements and make them easier to dodge. I also really like the letter icon at the bottom that smoothly updates your progress. This is all just very well put together and a joy to play!

Deliver Us, Brother by oter 2023-05-07T20:44:52Z

Great atmosphere and mystery you've managed to evoke here, and excellent work completing your first Ludum Dare! The soundscape and ambient wind with no music works well, and the evening lighting with crawling shadows and sweeping searchlights is great for building tension and immersing the player. I love the idea of a stealthy delivery-by-water game, almost like playing as Samuel in Dishonored.

If you decide to add more features after the jam, it would be cool to have a system where you can choose to move faster but the splashing would alert sentries at a longer distance. It could also be a lot of fun to manage your boat's inventory and keep a certain amount of cargo earmarked for bribes when you do inevitably get caught. All in all, this is an impressive entry for being so new to coding, and you should be very proud of your hard work!

Inbox Invaders by Boma 2023-05-03T05:22:21Z

The spritework is so good! Excellent music, too. Awesome character animations and juicy effects left and right. The scrolling background is super cool. I got stuck like @igli and couldn't get to the next section, but I'll play it again once that bug is fixed. Looking forward to seeing more of this one!

Delivery! NYC by Obe Dot 2023-05-02T21:20:24Z

Very fun idea! I love the concept of swinging around the city like a mailman superhero and throwing packages at people from hundreds of feet in the air. The grappling is pretty fun and I like that you can launch yourself toward the next point or swing around a point by holding down the button. For some reason this reminds me a bit of the Prototype games, where you have almost unlimited power and speed to climb up buildings and fly around the city with ease. Great job on getting this one done for the jam!

DeliverPunch by skitefall 2023-05-05T20:28:05Z

Great idea! I love your interpretation of the theme, an excellent combination of "delivering a punch" and "delivering items by punching"! :) The platforming mechanics feel good and the puzzles are well done. The scene transition with the truck moving through the foreground is a really nice visual touch for such a short jam. I also really like the second bounce-punch mechanic, although it might be a bit easier to control if you could just press a different button instead of pushing 1/2 to switch abilities and then Z again.

I really like how boxes can take damage and some are pre-damaged so you need to be extra careful with those. I feel like you could design all sorts of cool puzzles around these ideas in a longer game, so there's definitely some nice potential here. Well done - you should be proud of this one!

Drone Delivery by uNclear Physicist 2023-05-04T01:51:45Z

This is an excellent first jam game - nice work on the successful release! And kudos to you guys for making a web version, too. This has some good solid mechanics and provides a decent challenge. It's tricky to swoop down and deliver packages without crashing into a wall, but definitely gets easier as you practice. I like the requirement to get low enough to pick up deliveries also. Definitely a solid jam game you guys have here - great job!

PARCEL ROCKET by Braveskin 2023-05-02T06:16:09Z

This is a very solid jam entry! I love the audio work and music selection. The flight and shooting mechanics are pretty interesting and a fun challenge. I really like how your guns are side-mounted so you can't attack things above you, while horizontal attacks limit you to using one gun at a time, and centering an enemy below you allows you to use both guns. The amount of work that went into this is just all-around impressive, from the audio, to controls, to the upgrade system, to enemy AI. Very nicely done!

Pancakes Won't Wait by SamChen 2023-05-03T22:09:08Z

Cool idea! I love the concept of cooking food while you're driving around and trying to navigate to the next customer while evading the cops. It's a bit like Overcooked on wheels. It's a lot to manage at once, but in a fun and chaotic way. Very nice work here!

Forklift Certification Program by fries 2023-05-03T05:17:53Z

Wow, this is a great simulation to design in such a short jam! I really enjoyed wheeling around the warehouse and trying everything out. It took me a sec to realize the actual levers corresponded to forward/reverse/up/down/etc, but once I got the hang of everything it was really fun. Nice graphics, good music and sfx choices, and just really solid design all around. Also, that peek mechanic is so cool!

De-LIVE-ry by Supermango 2023-05-02T19:20:06Z

This one is a fun idea! I like how your deliveries also function as ammo, and it's limited enough that you need to decide when to shoot and when to save up to make deliveries. The ammo refill mechanic is good too. The difficulty ramps up nicely and it's got a nice sense of tension and speed. The controls are really fluid and I like how you can only deliver to the front of a house. I also really like how houses randomly light up so there's a reason to backtrack and revisit areas later. Great work on your game!

Storm Dove by RisingLeaf 2023-05-02T06:36:32Z

I'm excited to play more of this one, but I seem to be stuck around the end of the intro/tutorial. I just keep flying after the tutorial ends and I'm not seeing anything else yet. I also reloaded the page and tried using 'R' to skip the tutorial, but it gets stuck in the same spot (seems like some other scene/event is supposed to load at this point). I'll check back on this one tomorrow and see if there's an updated version. Seems like really cool music and art so far!

Storm Dove by RisingLeaf 2023-05-02T22:46:53Z

@risingleaf - Thanks for investigating the bug. If it helps pinpoint the issue, the solution that @hatheus suggested worked for me. Pressing pause/unpause after the tutorial allowed the next section to load successfully! :)

Bubble Wrap Factory by Jampla Games 2023-05-02T05:34:14Z

Fun idea for a jump mechanic! The popping is great and I like the breakroom portals hidden around each level. Level 3 is a really good challenge, testing your memory of portal placement as you speed upward toward the goal. Nice work on the hand-drawn art, too!

Totally Silly Forklift Simulator by garnold02 2023-05-03T00:49:15Z

Loved this one! The controls and physics are super smooth, even in the web build. I love the good quality models, fun objectives, and great mix of playability versus the level of challenge. Great work on adding so much polish in one short jam!

Delivery and Hunting for Lavatory (DHL) by Kitira 2023-05-02T22:39:46Z

Fun little platformer, here! I really like that individual pickups are constantly changing your speed and abilities. The quad-jump took a minute to get used to, but is really fun to use in that environment. The music scaling with the movement speed is a really nice touch. I love the "current speed" flavor text and the offhand comments from the character. Great work all around! :)

Orbo's Way Home by Jaxah 2023-05-03T00:03:44Z

Nice job on this one! I like that you need to keep your light orb's pathfinding in mind as you navigate around corners. It's cool that if you leave them too far behind, you're still able to navigate in the dark for a bit but it encourages you to go back and rescue your buddy. The Jaws-like music that plays when near enemies (and gets louder as they approach) is a nice touch. I hope you expand this concept a bit more after the jam!

Aspect Traveler by Benedict Ide 2023-05-02T06:03:23Z

Wow, now this is impressive for a jam game! The writing, presentation, and stats-based conversations give me some nice Disco Elysium vibes. I love how the situations can play out so differently on each run, and how you really need to pay attention to your stats and evaluate each action carefully. The volume and quality of writing is quite impressive for a jam. Excellent work on this one!

Apocalyptic Pizza by hatheus 2023-05-02T07:11:03Z

There's some impressive tech here for such a short jam! I love the car physics and the dynamic map generation. Ragdolls are a really nice touch, too. I like the mixture of delivery and survival objectives. The tire marks when drifting are a neat little detail. If you happen to add more to a post-jam version, I'd love to see the zombie impacts slow you down a bit so you can't hit too many in a row without coming to a stop.

Also I really like the building designs with the boarded-up windows and second/third levels with a lot of vertical design and neat visual flair. That would be fun to see you expand your idea to the point where you might have to get out on foot and using the ladders/stairs to deliver something to an upper floor of certain builds. Great job on your jam entry!

Equilibrium. Delivery of emotions by abi.code16 2023-05-03T23:41:36Z

Fun idea! I like how you can store extra "charges" of mood and deliver several at a time without flying back to the pickup area. That would be cool to see you expand this idea after the jam and add more levels, moods, critters, and maybe some levels that have more obstacles or walls/doors you have to fly around in order to find certain objectives. Great work on this one!

Baby Making Music by SebastienSiclait 2023-05-02T18:57:27Z

Thanks for also including the web build! The music fits nicely and I like how the characters animate to the beat. The grab/cut/throw keys are an interesting mechanic, and the grab timing is tricky but I like how the animation gives you a hint about when to react. Nice work getting this finished!

LD54 — Limited Space

Cosmic Chaos by Jiri_One 2023-10-08T20:40:14Z

Cool game design and visual style in this one! I really enjoy the upgrade configuration/swapping and the shrinking arena boundary is a fun challenge. I could definitely see this game turning into a fun post-jam version where you could add more upgrades and have to swap in certain items for various challenges (maybe like a boss enemy that's weak to EMP damage, so you can equip more effective weapons for that fight and need to remove other upgrades to make room). Great job on this game; I'm looking forward to seeing what you design next!

LIGHTDANCER by xk_the_name 2023-10-06T03:46:24Z

Oh man, this is so good! That's incredible that you got this done in the compo timeframe. One of my favorite games of LD54, easily. The mood is wonderful, the combat is fun, and the laser-focus on one specific mechanic is such a smart choice. You should be very proud of this one!

Ink Souls by Neowedge 2023-10-10T18:58:53Z

Gorgeous art style and audio design! I really like the concept of completing these platforming challenges to reach various ink types before you can even engage in combat. It's quite impressive that you did unique animations for every soul, and the player's own animations and movement feel very good. The screen shake, particle effects, and other polished details make for a nicely immersive experience.

I also really like how the souls cause platforms to fade as they move around the environment, which adds a fun layer of planning (being careful not to fall through a disappearing platform to danger below) and executing your jumps quickly enough before the next set of platforms fades away. This is a very solid entry and you guys should be proud of your work here!

Shoot'n Trade by PatBGames 2023-10-18T22:00:51Z

Great concept you've got here! I really enjoyed playing and I can definitely see potential here if you decide to add more after the jam. The feeling of having one of your weapons destroyed during a level is a fun limitation and really gives a nice sense of risk and realism. I feel like more shmups should do this sort of thing, and I'm surprised I haven't seen it before. Great job on your design and intuitive gameplay - you should be proud of this one!

Rim Runner by pinkemma 2023-10-04T20:22:32Z

Excellent concept that fits the jam perfectly! I really like being able to directly place and move cargo at will, and decide what to sell/reorganize at each station. I haven't played many spacefaring/trading games where you have to manage each piece of your inventory to fit in the cargo bay, so this was really enjoyable and I'd love to see an expanded version after the jam :)

Astro's Ladder by alec 2023-10-04T04:27:21Z

Really cool art style and satisfying controls! This has a nice Mario Galaxy vibe to it and the ladder system is really intuitive and smoothly animated. You can instantly tell how much polish and thought went into this one. Great work!

Hope Falters by Jeremy Ryan 2023-10-22T21:28:07Z

Congratulations on 1st place! This is a beautiful game and a well-deserved win. The overall "hope will prevail" theme is a breath of fresh air and the level design and contrasting word choice is well thought out. Nicely done!

Cyberframe EDEN by kiririn51 2023-10-04T19:28:56Z

Very impressive pixel art and game design! The card game mechanics are really well thought out, and the ability to earn and equip new cards as armor/weapons is such a smart idea. Would love to play more of this in a post-jam version!

Compress(space) by Fahim Faysal 2023-10-07T00:42:49Z

Loved playing this one! Easily one of favorite puzzle games from LD54. The presentation was fantastic and the UI and controls felt very intuitive. I really had to stop and think about how to solve some of the levels, and they were all satisfying to solve. Thanks for sharing this gem with us!

Keyslinger by OrdiNeu 2023-10-03T23:53:35Z

Really interesting concept and everything is nicely implemented! I was able to pick it up and play immediately without even relying the tutorial. The pixel art and music is great, and the swapping mechanic is a great interpretation of the theme and a really interesting idea that could be expanded in all sorts of interesting ways. Great job on this one!

RESTRICTED AREA by ROBOWARRIOR1982 2023-10-03T20:07:38Z

Great concept for a game! I really like the strategy of deciding when it was best to shoot enemies versus sneaking past them. The different enemy types spawning different block patterns was a smart design choice, too. Nice presentation, graphics, and music! I really had fun with this and enjoyed it all the way to the end :)

Dwarf Looter by Matthieu Riboulot 2023-10-03T22:56:40Z

Easily one of my favorite games of the jam! I love how you've boiled down the elements of a dungeon crawler into a concise and elegant fight/loot/sell gameplay loop. Even within such a tight concept, you've managed to add a lot of variety here, and I had that "just one more run" urge the whole time. Your art style, UI design, and gameplay is fantastic and I'm hoping everyone gets a chance to try this one!

Driller Instinct by MaximeG 2023-10-22T22:15:01Z

Super fun! Congrats on the excellent score. I love how you've distilled the fun of mining into a very smooth and enjoyable gameplay loop, and the expanding lava mechanic is a great way to add tension and put an emphasis on meaningful perk choices. Great job!

Noah's Ark Destroyer by TheAxe316 2023-10-09T00:09:42Z

Fun game! You guys implemented a lot for a weekend jam. I actually really like the idea of a Vampire Survivors-like where all of your damage is dealt by Pokemon-like trainable/upgradable critters that are persistent and you can mix and match teams of them on each run to try different synergies and hidden combinations. I think there's definitely more room for you to explore these mechanics after the jam. Great work on the game!

Midnight Racers by LoicLeGrosFrere 2023-10-03T06:35:41Z

I love this aesthetic! The light trails are a really nice effect, and I really like how the stark white car models contrast against the dark background and glowing signs/trees. Very cool style, and a fun racing challenge. Any plans to add more levels after the jam?

Train of memories by creativ4eg 2023-10-08T21:25:06Z

Gorgeous artwork! I really like the scrolling background and the feeling of motion and camera movement as you travel. Nice animation effects on the boxes, too. The live updates on the map as the train moves is really neat. Well done, team!

SPACE LTD. (The Little Prince) by Vadzim 2023-10-03T01:47:04Z

Excellent implementation! The art style is really nice, and the controls are smooth and intuitive. This feels like mini-golf with a gravity-slinging twist, and I'm definitely digging it. I'd definitely be interested in playing more levels if you decide to expand it after the jam! :)

Parking Garage Rally by walaber 2023-10-03T21:04:00Z

Super fun game! I love the retro graphics and the controls feel really good. The level design is fantastic. The small details like physics interactions with parked cars and helpful arrow markings around the track are excellent. You should be very proud of this one!

Clockwork Express by mira 2023-10-03T23:39:06Z

Fantastic pixel art and puzzle gameplay! The puzzle pieces being actual rooms that perform functions for the passengers is such a cool concept, and I bet you could turn this into a really interesting full game :)

Lost Mage by Eliyud 2023-10-04T02:31:58Z

Really nice models and lighting! The impact of enemies exploding and boxes/tables breaking really makes your attacks feel satisfying and powerful. The core loop of just surviving in one room works well for the jam theme and I can tell it allowed you to really focus on the main experience and polish the gameplay and graphics. Nice work!

cyber_serpent by picross 2023-10-03T06:43:59Z

Incredible style and juicy effects! This game is punchy and satisfying right off the bat. The sound effects and VFX are top-tier. I also really love the teleport/dash animation. This is a brilliant blend of Snake and something akin to Geometry Wars. Great job, you guys!

Afloat by T C 2023-10-03T04:40:39Z

Very cool ideas here! I just got to the end and really enjoyed playing through. I love how you've got a tradeoff between mining and building, where you need to think about how much you should actually be mining so you don't destroy the entire island. I also really like the nicely animated sweeping attack, and the option to fight enemies directly or rely mostly on towers. Well done!

Escape the Closet by TheWinrawr 2023-10-22T23:22:50Z

Congrats on the high Mood score! This one is really spooky and I love not knowing exactly will give away your position and being very careful when the monster is around. Definitely gave me Alien Isolation vibes. This is sort of like the horror version of Quadrilateral Cowboy, and I bet you could make a really cool full game out of this if you leaned into that niche. Nicely done - you should be proud of this one!

Whiskers in the Dark by Diego Teran 2023-10-06T02:26:40Z

Very cool graphics and music! Definitely gives me strong Mark of the Ninja vibes, which is great. I love the small details like the cat slowly sliding down the wall while hanging. This is the first stealth game I've seen in LD54, and it's very well done!

The King is Watching by Tvorojok 2023-10-04T18:24:32Z

Fantastic game with smart mechanics and a beautiful art style! I was hooked on this one immediately and couldn't put it down. The block placement/rotation and limited map space is an excellent concept and fits the theme perfectly while also being a great sample of what the full game could be. I'd love to see you expand this after the jam and add a campaign where maps had more strategy and variation to them (maybe Mountain tiles that you can build more efficient mines on but farms can't be placed there, or water tiles that you can fish from but can't place buildings on, etc).

Claustromowbic by dreamscale 2023-10-09T02:58:12Z

Fun controls and satisfying grass clipping sounds! I like how you have a fuel limit but not a time limit; that makes it feel a lot more relaxing and meditative since you can swoop by and grab more fuel every few passes. Thanks for including the on-screen volume controls, too!

Limited Space Rescue by SharpLoaded 2023-10-09T02:42:45Z

I love the smooth controls and visual style! This one was really enjoyable to play and satisfying to pull off a perfect maneuver through tight spaces. Reminded me a bit of Choplifter where you're flying into dangerous areas to pick up crew members and bring them to safety. I'd love to see more of this game after the jam, with levels where you need to bring certain numbers of crew to different space stations and planets in more of an open area/world format. Great work on this one, Sharp!

The Darkest Of Maze by BorderDestroyer 2023-10-03T05:13:57Z

Great mood and tension in this one! The film grain, limited flashlight distance, and sound effects do a nice job of selling the claustrophobic and eerie sensation. It took me a minute to get used to the player momentum, but after a while it was fun "drifting" around corners to grab the next orb without losing speed. Well done!

HEXAK by Phillip Scott 2023-10-02T23:59:56Z

Wow, I love the presentation here! The audio feedback and calming BGM is really nice, and the visual style is excellent. I'm very impressed that you were able to implement so many structure types and differentiate them in ways that provide a meaningful impact to the gameplay. Great work all around! :)

Limited Space by sebi 2023-10-03T01:34:07Z

Cool idea, and an unique and fun implementation! I really like the challenge of racing through a list of words, trying to come up with the longest ones that don't contain those two blocked letters. I could see this making for a really fun singleplayer campaign-style game, too, where you have to complete a bunch of different typing challenges against different opponents that require to avoid different letters, suffixes, prefixes, etc depending on what type of enemy/opponent they are. I hope you decide to add more features and gameplay styles to the post-jam version! :)

Safe Space Passage by Kepsert 2023-10-10T00:41:52Z

Super impressive! This level of polish is outstanding, and the rotation/platforming mechanics are so smooth and intuitive. The audio design and art style mesh together perfectly with the gameplay, and it all adds up to a very engaging and atmospheric experience. You guys should be very proud of this one, and I'm very much looking forward to seeing what you create next!

Pixel Piles by Gabriel Chan 2023-10-03T05:55:32Z

That is one adorable kitty! I love the jump animation; reminds me a lot of the Super Mario World spin. Very cool mixture of a platformer and Tetris-like. You guys should be very proud of this one! :)

Capurrcino - Your Own Cat Café [v1.2] by Aetherswitch 2023-10-03T01:06:47Z

Fun idea for a puzzle game! I really like this mixture of the serving/restaurant genre with this type of puzzle. It's relaxing to be able to move at your own pace, but still try to serve each customer in as few turns as possible. I hope you decide to keep working on this one after the jam. Great work! :)

Prairie Dog Panic! by SAD Studios 2023-10-03T19:55:42Z

I had fun with this one! I really like all the physics-based objects in the environment that get knocked around during shootouts. The enemy spawn pacing and positions are designed well, and the upgrades after each level feel substantial and fun. Impressive work on the original music, too - it fits perfectly with the art style and action!

Stretchmancer by Choo 2023-10-03T05:40:58Z

Incredible! This is the first game in LD54 that I've rated all 5's! I was hooked from the start, and I've rarely seen such a unique and interesting traversal mechanic. Feels a bit like the first time I tried to wrap my head around Portal. You guys need to develop this into a full game and put it on Steam!

PukuPuku by Gnum_ 2023-10-03T00:33:32Z

This game has a nice relaxing vibe to it! The character animation and physics interactions (like being able to displace rocks as you walk through them) are neat and they add some nice flavor to the environment and exploration. I really like this one conceptually, too, with the "limited space" being an aquarium that serves as your entire world.

The Carver by Cymusi 2023-10-03T21:44:18Z

Fun idea! This is the first game I've seen in LD54 where you can use the walls to deal damage, and it fits the theme really well. Nice work on the art, UI, and sound effects. Would love to see more of this one if you decide to expand it after the jam!

LiGHTHOLDER by wolkp 2023-10-22T22:42:05Z

Congrats on scoring so highly in the Overall and Fun categories! I had a blast playing this one and I really love the mining/collecting polish and the upgrade tree. I honestly think this could be a really good base for a successful Steam game if you decide to expand it and add a larger variety of levels and enemies. Great work on the jam, and I hope you add more to the game soon!

Burned Out, Shut In by cawfee_art 2023-10-08T20:55:52Z

Excellent job on your first solo jam! This turned out great, and it's really impressive that you implemented all these minigames in addition to very effective visuals and writing that tie it all together. Having multiple endings and some branching paths is a really nice touch, which gives the player a nice sense of agency while keeping the project scope reasonable.

I also really appreciate the ability to continue past a minigame before you've completed it; this is really helpful for people who are either replaying to get a different ending, or who get stuck on a puzzle but still want to experience the story. Skipping a partially-done task is also a cool story/RP mechanic because it lets the player inject a bit of their personality into the story (not having enough energy to finish something as a character detail). Great work - you should be proud of this one!

BBD-MK0 by Syntaxxor 2023-10-04T03:24:13Z

Great idea for a main game mechanic! The puzzle layouts and ability to swap your control scheme during a level feels really unique and fits the theme perfectly. Excellent work on the pixel art and music, too! It all fits together really nicely.

Switch Space Limited by EPA 2023-10-03T04:59:33Z

I really like this one! I love the 2D spike mechanic and having the ability to drag and push boxes to reshape the level in 3D. I also like the really interesting and creative restrictions such as limiting jumping to 2D mode and dragging to 3D mode. This feels really different than most 2D/3D-toggling games to me, and I bet you could expand that in a lot of fun ways if you decide to build on this game in a post-jam version. Great job designing such a mechanically dense game in a short jam!

Out of Space by aznoqmous 2023-10-22T21:59:14Z

Congrats on the 2nd place win for Fun! I really enjoyed playing this one and the art and audio work together very well. This was definitely a "just one more level" type of game for me and I just couldn't stop playing :) Great work - you should be really proud of this one!

KAAMOS by PabloAbraham 2023-10-06T00:41:54Z

Wonderfully atmospheric with a beautiful art style! This one immediately stands out as one of the most stylish games of LD54. This has a very strong sense of identity and feels cohesive right off the bat. The UI and game mechanics are also really interesting; especially details like the at-risk inventory slots that require you to plan ahead when organizing cargo. I also just really love the frozen wasteland aesthetic, compared to most cargo delivery games that take place in space. Great work, you guys!

Limited Dungeon by Vitaslayer 2023-10-09T00:55:44Z

Very fun! This is kinda like a singleplayer version of Ultimate Chicken Horse and the pixel art is fantastic! The quality of animation is really nice too - I love that bomb explosion and the run cycle. I like the risk/reward of dashing through a particularly nasty bunch of traps to grab the coins that have been accumulating there for a while. Definitely an impressive number of mechanics and art assets created in a short jam - you guys did great!

score4.png

SINISTER ELEVATOR by ScaryTreeGames 2023-10-04T02:47:50Z

Fun game! I love the spooky atmosphere and your choice of music/sfx is phenomenal. I hope you add more to this one in a post-jam version. I bet you could do a lot of frantic and heart-pounding scenarios where spiders are coming coming through the ceiling vent, blocking the door from closing, chasing you through the floors of the building as you dash back to the safety of the elevator, etc. Great job on a very successful jam!

Clutterophobia by georgus 2023-10-03T06:24:18Z

Simple, effective, and fun! This one gets right into the action and is intuitive and easy to play. I really like that getting hit isn't an immediate game-over, and grabbing holy water has a really nice sense of risk/reward to it. The sound effects suit the aesthetic perfectly and this is just nicely designed in every way. Great job!

Super Wraparound by Bergeronimo 2023-10-04T20:06:49Z

Very cool game mechanics here! The small touches add a lot, like the impact frame when enemies get hit and the zoom when you die. The music and sounds are minimalist but effective and soothing. I really like how the multiplier is based on consecutive shots and not kills in a specific time period; that makes the aiming feel so much more crucial and really plays into the wraparound concept. Great work!

Lucas and the House of Lost Souls by BinayaS 2023-10-07T23:58:59Z

Excellent mood and immersion in this one! The sound design works really well here, and the lightning flashes were a cool mixture of "that's convenient that I can see what's around me!" and "do i actually *want* to see what's around me?". The item descriptions help to accentuate the eerie setting, and I keep staring into the darkness and dreading what I might see next. Very well done, and I hope you continue working on a post-jam version and/or make more narrative puzzle games like this!

Nice Park! by Barbabulle 2023-10-04T00:28:08Z

Super fun! I love how detailed and solid this gameplay is, and I think you could do a lot of interesting things with a full campaign after the jam. Maybe something like working shifts as a valet earning tips for your speed and accuracy, and also maybe a queue of customers waiting for their specific cars so you need to go retrieve the parked cars and deliver them before the customer gets angry. Very well done for a jam - you guys are amazing!

I also was a detective once but then... by Teamelon 2023-10-03T01:25:18Z

Very cool game! The art and audio provide a great sense of place and atmosphere, and the dialogue is well written, funny, and engaging. I really like that key items are marked with a spark, but you can still investigate other things in the scene to get discover additional bits of story/dialogue. You did a great job building tension and mood when the lighting and music changes while exploring the second level of the building. Nice job on every aspect of this game!

Under Trykk by Fredspipa 2023-10-04T03:16:34Z

5/5 Mood! I was hooked immediately and I love how nerve-racking it is to thread the needle between cave walls and manage your controls while trying to pump the water out and move fast enough to stay ahead of danger. The low fidelity retro graphics and excellent sound design really make for a super immersive experience and easily one of my favorites of LD54!

Fallen Glory by luminarts 2023-10-03T06:15:05Z

Definitely a fun game! I really like the feeling of repelling the circle with each kill, and having the extra impact from getting multi-kills. The upgrade system is nicely implemented and every upgrade feels well balanced and worthwhile. I love the power attacks, too. Excellent work on the art style, animation, and music, too! You guys did a great job putting this together.
