This was WAY more fun that I had expected! The gameplay loop (literally haha), is very simple but so entertaining and it kept me going for a quite a long time. I really love the use of the DVD logo meme, haha it's so original and it fits your game idea so well. Freaking love it.
Maybe the only thing I would change is that it would be great to also have some kind of sprint/dash ability, because sometimes it is impossible to dodge the logo with a simple jump. Alsmo, I'm not sure if I missed the "harvest" theme, or if it's not included. It's ok if you didn't use it, I'm just asking in case I missed something :)
@iluvatar Thanks for playing! Yes, the dash is a great idea. It needs some more mobility in the game and maybe a little variety of challenge, but ran out of time.
As for the theme, I gave up on the theme after a bit. So, I removed that category from the judging. This is more of just a game I made during the weekend, lol.
Pixel art, music and sound effects all blend together really well. It's a super neat idea executed really well. Great job.
I like the simple concept, music and art. Compiled together, it's really fun. (I think you didn't have to give up on the theme completely. It wouldn't be the best take (maybe a really bad way of fitting the theme), but if you made it a scythe instead of DVD and some wheat as a player, the scythe would be trying to harvest the wheat, etc...)

Haha, very simple but executed very well. I particularly like the small detail of the DVD image always watching the player and grinning when it gets close - great touch ^_^
This is such a simple but effective game! A very unique idea and done really well. My only negative comment really is that I was never able to jump over the DVD icon, but that may be a skill issue lol
I love the consistent artstyle and the music was great, I also liked the detail where the DVD icon would have a devilish grin when close to you!

It's an easy way to play. It allows for a great deal of creativity, such as adding many levels of different shapes or enemies with different behavior patterns. It appeals to me greatly.

Simple and fun. Would be even better with some twists on gameplay for example a new random ability or debuff or environment change every let's say five loops. Anyway great job!(the smiley DVD face is kinda creepy phew)

Interesting idea that the player changes the gravity as he moves on a different wall. Really liked animations, always have problems with them. Music goes well with DvD. It would be better, if the difficulty changed with the time. But overall nice, unique game.

That DVD logo is looking at me! Really cute and simple game. Really like the aesthetics.
A simple idea but a great one well made ! music is dop, the Pixel art on 1bit is great !

Very simple and to the point. It's very cute to see the DVD logo turn into an evil face when it's close enough to the player. I only wish there was a bit more feedback in terms of audio, maybe some particles as a cherry on top of good visuals.

Simple, intuitive, and fun! I love this for the minimalist aesthetic, music, and gameplay that just keeps nudging you do one more lap :) I like the simple pleasure of jumping from one wall to another and sticking the landing just how I was hoping it'd work. Great work on the jam!
I really like the way you achieved such fun gameplay with only two buttons! Cutting corners mechanic is very cool!

echoing everyone else's comments -- incredibly fun and well-executed, especially given how simple the game looks at a glance. the pixel art is really charming, and i found the music so enjoyable as well. i really love games like this that take a very straightforward concept and turn it into something that's truly addicting and fun to come back to. i will definitely be returning to play. thanks so much for sharing! <3

I think this may be the only truly idle game on LD this time... seemed appropriate you can just watch Racer McTavish and the DVD logo chase each other around. Like @nikitavychuz, I noticed the DVD logo gets an evil expression when close... This made me so happy to realize! Fun and addicting. Good job!!

Update--just watched the game run for a while (which included a thrilling run where McTavish almost got to 5 circuits!! better than any of my intentional scores lol) and noticed the DVD guys eyes also follow you? So many great details and polish in this game, exceptional job
Interesting simple arcade game, with surprising depth to it (though admittedly I'm not the type that would be sucked in to try and get better and better score here). But I think it would be possible to increase the how addictive it is by stopping for a second on death and making the score a bit clearer and adding a high-score.
Personally I would have liked to have some extra lives and limiting the monster so it could only hurt you once per bounce or something like that (give the player one or two seconds of invincibility).
