It looks kinda like more interesting pacman :). Nice and cute game.

It looks kinda like more interesting pacman :). Nice and cute game.
Nice game, little difficult, but great for those who like challenges. I don't know why but it reminds me those kinds of games you got on CD when you bought a PC/Game magazine back in 90s :)
More checkpoints would be cool. Anyway very atmospheric, awesome music (too bad you didn't allow us to vote for music). And overall nice game
I really liked it. I appreciate you created a lot of special ingredients to make it more interesting, yet it may be too much for this kind of a short game. Overall, very nice.
Not a bad game. Interesting graphics
Awesome idea, and enjoy to play. The boss visuals are kind of... controverse :) but funny.
Very nice game! Awesome music and peaceful mood. Great for kids in time of Christmas :)
Hello,
Thank you all for your comments, really appreciate it.
@Nigic: I'm really sorry for the file name inconvenience. You can open your inventory by going to the top of the screen with your mouse (one of the ways used in classic adventure games).
@Quetzakol: I added the walkthrough.txt into the document.
Funniest tower defense game I've ever played! Nice music, fun and great idea :)
Very nice, though very difficult game. I think it would be cool if there were some RNG Health potions around. Loved the atmosphere which was incredible.
Nice little game. Simple, and fun. The amount of bombs could be lower, but still cool :)
Very creative and inovative idea. It was more of a text game, but with a nice 'plot' with jumping guy in it. I liked it, good job :)
Hello Standu! Loved it! Fun, great sounds and music. Me and my GF made record for about 130 or so, it was fun, and challenging. The only flaw was that sometimes it was a magic cirle, because you had to just run for food, to survive, and couldnt move forward to better score unless you did the same procedure 10x in a row. But overall one of my favourite entries! :)
The only game I have rated FULL STARS for every single category. Totally loved it! I cannot believe you have created this only in few days. It is awesome, cute, damn funny, and boy, I will not talk about the music! It rocks! I cannot say in word how much I (and my girlfriend) enjoyed it.
Wow, the mood of this game is one of the best I have seen on this LD. I loved it. I am not a fan of these "minecraft" graphics, but this was totally different. Great entry!
Very nice little game. I may be just noob, but I found it kind of hard to dodge enemies and move, but I guess that is good, that it is challenging. The mood was great, nice music selection and the background is awesome. I like the sprites (mostly those red cells, they looked demonic, haha). Overall, relaxing and enjoyable game :)
This piece was one of the funniest and most enjoyable game so far! The idea of trying to "not to destroy stuff" is awesome and it was executed perfectly. Good job, my friend.
I think this is the first game I actually felt like playing full-time game. For me, it was best entry so far!
I liked it very much. Simple and fun. The only thing that bothered me a little, was that spawning area was accessible by enemy shots, therefore I died a lot just the second I spawned. But this is just a minor thing. Overall it was cool.
Interesting concept. Kinda tricky but doable. Well made game indeed :)
Nice and fun game. The only thing that could have been better, was the inventory. It was kinda buggy, since you had to have items in the right possition to give exact item to those people. Overall, cool, very much similar to classic NES games, imho.
Gotta love the mood and dialogs! Very nice game. Hight quality adventure for sure. Good job with the voices :)
I love how minimalistic yet so pure and fun it is. You focused on the goal and you executed it perfectly without any unfinished "addons" around it. Straight forward gameplay, great animations and incredible graphics that add space mood to the game.
That was cute and beautiful. Very short, but it was pretty little game. I would advice this game for little children who can learn how to use a computer this way. :)
Very nice little game. It kinda reminded me oldschool type of strategies. I believe it was really high quality game for early 90s style. I believe that is what you intended. I very much loved the retro-like music. Overall very pretty and thoughtful game.
Graphics are cute and beautiful. Simple but it has nice mood. You definitely worked hard on this and it is executed perfectly.
Thank you all for playing my game. I really appreciate your (hopefully) honest reviews :)
@somnium Actually, yes, the "lost wife" theme was not intended from the beginning, but because of the lack of time, I had to come up with something quick. I have already created plot for the post LD version, and it will be more diverse and longer. It will also take more time to make :) Thanks again for your response.
@icxon Thank You kindly for Your feedback. I am aware of these bugs And I plan to fix it in the final post-LD version :-)
Very interesting idea. One of the most original games I have seen so far. Good job :)
Nice music and graphics. NukaCola is kinda rip off, but still funny game :). Challenging and fun, and that is what arcades are about.
Love the idea! Very original way to say that players have only limited time. Great job on this game.
What I loved the most was the NES mood your game has achieved (I believe it was intended). The music was incredible, and felt really like one of those late 80's arcades. Fairly difficult, but not too hard, just enough to have fun. The graphics were minimalistic yet so beautiful. Overall, pretty nice entry! :)
Great graphics and mood. Love the idea. Kinda challenging for such a sh...ty game (get it?). Jokes aside, the physics were sloppy sometimes, but overall, it was fun and with the incredible environment I think one of the highest quality game there is in LD 38.
Interesting concept and fun, but gets little bit repetitive after longer play. Gotta say, sounds were rather creepy :D
I love the graphics and smooth (almost) animations :). Good job on a simple, yet fun platformer.
The time pressure is noticable, however it does not lower the quality of the game itself. Nice, cute survival-like game. I wish you good luck :)
One of my favourites! Mood and the music was awesome, and the gameplay was incredibly enjoyable. Great work, 5/5 from me without a doubt.
Nice music and mood. Very relaxing. Although rather challenging to eat at least one green food. Overall nice and original concept
Just like the good old rogue like games. Loved the music and overall mood of the game. Very good job!
First time I gave someone full 5 stars. The game is incredible. I mean, for today's standards it may be boring for someone, but it has that cool retro 80's vibe, that old acrade high-score-based games used to have. For me, best entry so far.
I liked the mood and the concept that it is all toys! It felt good to play. Too bad, you don't want to be rated for graphics, because I loved it very much. The only flaw the game has is that if you go to upper area of the arena, you cannot see down beacause of the camera angle. Overall very nice game.
I think this is the first multiplayer LD entry I have really enjoyed. It is fast, enjoyable and fun. I hope you will get at least somewhere in the first 25 best games in any of the category. Great job! :)
One of the most fun game I have played so far! Cute graphics and sounds. The concept is awesome :) Good job my friend!
Liked the story and mood. Shame it was too short, and kinda was without any effort to beat the game. But I believe it was all because of LD time pressure. Anyway, as a huge adventure games fan the story and dialog is most important to me, and I really enjoyed :) Good job.
Cool game. I understand that you couldn't add more things to do, because of the time pressure, but my advice to you is that if you add more stuff you can do there now (like fighting other rats or something) it would be "full-time" high quality arcade game. Graphics were impressive, and overall, fun game, but not for a long time, but that is what LD is all about right? - short games :)
Interesting concept and nice game indeed. I also hope, my vote will help you at least a little bit to get rated. Good luck :)
Graphics and music were awesome. Loved the idea of vegan nazis too! The only thing I would change was the high rate of fires shot at you. It was nearly impossible to dodge them without dodging every half second and moving forward just a pinch. Anyway very nice game :)
Pretty graphics and fun game. Although, gets little bit repetitive over time. Anyway for a game that is created in couple of days is cool :)
Very nice and hilarious concept. I loved it. It would be cool to have more levels. The music and sounds are awesome! :)
So simple yet so much fun! I love the idea of this "gravity jumping" arcade type of game. It was fairly challenging, but beatable if you stay focused, that's how I imagine LD game should look like. I very much enjoyed it, and I hope you will be at least in first 25 in FUN category :).
As a huge fan of big monsters terrorising little people, I really enjoyed the game. The screeching was epicly terrifying. Very nice game. I would say that this would be a great mobile/tablet type game. Think about it :)
Interesting game. I like the minimalistic retro graphics and dialogs.
Too bad you do not want to be rated for graphics, because I loved it. Besides graphics I adored the dialogs and complete mood of the game. Nice entry indeed.
Awesome game. Very nice graphics (maybe way too nice, since my sh.tty laptop couldn't handle it for more than 20 fps, haha). I loved the music and mostly the menu song. The idea of western robots sure is original and creative, and that is why I gave you higher points for that :) Good job!
Pretty impressive for a game created in 72 hours. I loved the graphics, and physics as well. Very nice entry indeed.
Nice game you have! What I liked the most was the semi-3D gameplay. I like it! :)
It was fun, but I got a bit lost at the beginning. I liked the physics and the idea. Good job :)
This game is awesome. It may not be so flashy, but I love the atmosphere, graphics and sound. It has that old school feeling of games like Wolfenstein 3D and other similar old 3D games :)
Cool game. Liked the idea. It fits the theme perfectly. But too hard for me, but I'm probably just a noob, haha.
Amazing game! Great concept, great graphics and sounds. I just shouldn't be playing this thing at 1 am, haha. Spooky as hell.
I'm a huge fan of minimalistic art so I liked it very much. The game and narrative itself is very positive and sweet. I would just add some calm music to make it obvious that it is a positive game. I honestly expected something terrible happen to the character, since I've heard that windy snow blizzard which added more of a thrilling/horrorish mood to the game :) . Overall, really nice game.
Classic tower defence game. Nothing new under the sun, but the graphics, animations and music made it really special :) I liked it a lot. Shame it was so easy and short. Good game though.
@odrez thank you for your comment. I think you just look too deep. It's a joke. I also wanted to add choice between man and woman, beacuse I kinda expected comment of this kind but I had troubles to code it. But hey, it's 2017, I understand your concern and believe me I am not a sexist at all, quite the opposite. It was simply a joke. Same category as joke: "What? I had a baby?!"... See? Just a joke, I didn't want to point out that men are irresponsible idiots, who rather make game than taking care of their children.
@odrez The dropping of all bars when interacting are there to prevent spamming. In other words if you want to boost your (e.g.) hunger, you pay with fun, gf, dog... etc. Just one more thing for you to enjoy LD: All these projects Are oversimplified and many times over the top. Because of lack of time, all LD entries are simple games :-)
@edmond00 Thank you for playing my game. The caffeine system was kinda last minute thing :-) It gives your PC working progress some boost. I know, it should have been explained better.
@finntastico I would love to have a web version but unfortunately Adventure Game Studio doesn't provide this option. :-) Thank you kindly for your review.
This is one of those games that don't even look like competition game. Incredible idea and execution :) One of my favourites so far.
The atmosphere is incredible. Awesome music and gameplay :)
I like the minimalistic graphics and funny mood :)
Wow... first I was like "This is really easy." and after five minutes I was surprised how can be something so simple so challenging. Great entry! :)
You got the theme perfectly. I love the graphics and physics. It is funny how more people have this idea of dealing with your own ricochet shots. What I mean is that it is interesting how people can have similar ideas. You obviously werent copying anyone since we were all working at the same time. From all of these "ricochet games" I liked yours the best. Overall great game :-)
I've got just 32 points, but I was barely able to see at all. It made me really dizzy, haha. Good job executing the drunk effect :)
The minimalistic graphics, mood and music were incredible. As a fan of adventure games I really enjoyed it. The story was nice, but not that much original, but I understand it is hard to make a good story in 72 hours :). Good job.
This was FAN-TAS-TIC! The nostalgia vibe from the old school RPGs is well done. Great entry, one of my favourites :)
Absolutely amazing! Fast, flashy, well animated, great sound effects. The game has it all. I would love to play this thing on my phone :)
This made me literally laugh my a** off! Hilarious idea, I really hope you win first 25 places in humor category. Love it! :)
The artstyle was incredible, and music too. I like the idea and easy gameplay. Textbook game for a LD competition. Nice work! :)
The music is incredible. You really did this on your own? :) The game isn't the most inovative one in the world, but it's fun. Good job :)
@xclementx You would get 10 stars for music from me!!! :)
Awesome story with an eery mood. I also like the art style. Good job :)
This is definitely one of the winners for sure! Cute and scary at the same time. Fun and challenging, incredible idea with cute graphics and music. I really loved it! :)
Incredible idea and it's funny. Love the graphics too ...but I gotta tell you, it is kinda disgusting :D
Shame it was so short. Loved the music and environs. The gameplay was very original, but also classic (with greed comes a bad time). I really enjoyed it.
Even though the idea isn't the most original one, it still was fun to play. What I liked the most was the positive vibe created by nice graphics and cool music :) And as Jungle says, the head slide part is kickass :)
The idea is promising, I would just prefer faster progression, and maybe something to do between the time you are waiting for the money. Overall, nice game :)
I'm a simple man, I read "Lovecraft", I instantly download. And I was not disappointed! :) The atmosphere is thrilling and the sounds are spooky. The only downside are the movements. Im not sure if it was just me, but it seemed laggy and unsteady. Overall great game :)
Great music, awesome graphics and gameplay. I had a lot of fun. So far, one of the best entries I have tried :)
The idea is really awesome. The execution could be a bit better, but I understand it's rather hard for a Compo. For me, it was a good game :) (I like your parodies on Jonny's computer. Like Twatter, haha.)
This is the most original and most fun idea I have seen so far! Incredible graphics and gameplay :)
Unfortunatelly, I have no one to play with, so I just watched the video. But man, it looks like a lot of fun! What I love the most are the mouth-made SFX. Haha, hilarious and epic at the same time. I hope I'm gonna try it with someone sooner or later :)
The most original game I have played so far. Awesome, fun and unusual, just what I like :) Must have been hard work to create all that music and set it together. Good job!
Not a bad game. I like the flashy movements. Nice entry :)
4 stars from me! Very nice graphics and music which gave the game soothing christmas atmosphere. The only negative thing I found was... THEM STUPID KIDS IN MY WAY! Haha. Nice entry indeed :)
The mood of the game is really great. As a fan of this Stranger-Things-like genre, I truly love your game :)
Looks easy at first, but damn, it was challenging. Great job executing your idea. Simple, but fun :)
Kinda reminds me of my entry in the way that we both tried to bring that feeling of being overwhealmed by responsibilities :) I loved the graphics and the idea all together. Good job.
I don't know if I can judge only by two videos, because unfortunately, I have no one to play with. I love the artstyle and animations and overall it seems to be an awesome game.
Nice, relaxing, arcadish game. It was kinda easy in the beginning, but later on it was really fun. Good job :)
It was fun. First few minutes, I was looking for some normal wine bottles, and after a long time I realized that those bottles are 2 metres tall, hahahaha. It was really fun. The music was awesome, I would love to have an MP3 of it :) . And the graphics is probably the best part of the game. I totally loved it. I just dont understand why you dont want to be rated for graphics :)
Not a bad game. This isn't exactly my cup of coffee but I always try to be open minded during the LD event. And it was better than I expected :) - Pros: Great audio and well set graphics. Not thrilling but, interesting overall concept. - Cons: I understand why you wanted to make the text going slowly, but it would be cool if there was an option to fast forward it.
That was really something! When I saw the gif I was like "Awww what a cute game", but then I was really surprised. I totally love the idea of the gameplay. So cool, and the story behind is well thought as well. Great game! But I saw said when that evil virus (or whoever that was) killed those innocent little bubblies.
@local-minimum Thanks for trying out my game, mate. What do you mean by that? Our game was created in AGS (Adventure Game Studio), which unfortunately doesn't support playing through the browser.
@local-minimum Thank you very much for your comment. Yeah, we are aware of some non-logical elements that we oversaw during the development. We should have given it more thought. In our defence, even though it is a jam, we had to finish everything before 48 ours, because of work and other real life stuff. Another thing is that I'm not that good with coding, so I spent a lot of time trying to figure stuff out, in other words - we had different kind of troubles than oils and vessels :) . I know these are just bad excuses, but I hope the game isn't as bad as I was afraid it would be and it will make at least some of the jammers happy playing it. We definitely will learn from our mistakes and your comments and feedback, guys, help us a lot.
Thank you all guys for your feedback. It is more than appreciated!
- @shozou Yeah, we are aware of that, I had a problem with global variables in this case. I couldn't find a solution for this. However, I will not fix it now, since I am very much against any changes in the game AFTER the jam ends. I'll fix it as soon as ratings are over.
- @fluffy-kaeloky That was kind of the feature, in meaning that you had to figure out in what order you put items to your inventory. But I understand it sounds better on paper than in the game itself. Again, it was too late to change it. I hope it wasn't that much of an issue for you, and you enjoyed the game at least a litte bit.
- @frittatenbank Thanks man! I wouldn't dare to compare our game to Monkey Island masterpiece, but we really appreciate that. Regarding the voice acting. We had the equipment for that, but I think it would have only ruined the mood of seemingly "loneliness" feeling we tried to achieve. If there was a voice it would have been "too alive"... I don't know how to explain this, sorry. Plus our English is not on such high level to voice over a game :)
@ildfuglen Hello mate. Thanks a lot for playing and rating our game. It is not perfect (far from it), but we tried :-) . Regarding the innovation, well I think we just picked a wrong genre, haha. There isn't much to be done about making new innovative adventure game.
Wow, it doesn't look like a jam game at all. It's so smooth and good looking. Fun to play as well :) good job.
First of all the graphics are phenomenal. It's obvious that you/your team has a great artist talent. The gameplay wasn't bad, but it wasn't thrilling either. But since you've submitted compo, it's actually great. It would also be cool if you had a music in the background, but again - compo, rules are way harder. For that I think this is a very solid entry. P.S.: I didn't understand the part about the boss. Are you the boss?
Really great quick timer. The graphics are phenomenon and add the right mood to the game. The gamplay is very fast and maybe too difficult. But that's just an individual problem, it doesn't mean that the game is not good. It would be better, however, if there was some kind of procedural progression in the difficulty instead of having it so hard at the beginning.
- PROS: AWESOME graphics and mood. Fun gameplay, enjoyable animations and fitting backgrounds. - CONS: Shooting sounds were more like a sci-fi laser which didn't fit that well to the theme of the game, but that's just a minor stuff. Maybe too hard from the very beginning. (P.S.: My claustrophobia says, it didn't like it).
Well... It sure was something. I have really mixed feelings right now. I mean I loved the creativity level over 9000. These ideas come once in a millenium, but at the same time I was so confused. Haha! Nevertheless, it was really funny and definitely giving 5* for innovation, because this is something else! Also loved the music a lot.
Awesome game. The graphics are incredible and animations very smooth. I really loved the music - so happy and fitting. Just too bad the multiplayer was not working. One of my favourites so far :)
Sweet and cute game. I think you defined the theme really well. It was fun and challenging (maybe too challenging for me, haha).
- PROS: The graphics are really cool and the gameplay is fun. What I loved the most though, was the music. I assume you didn't allow voting on sound because it wasn't your music. Doesn't matter, it fits well and it makes it more fun.
- CONS: Zombies attack you only when you are near them. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but it was very easy for me to avoid them in early stages.
Definitely an original idea. Very challenging for those who have a very bad memory (*cough* me *cough*). Overall interesting experience.
The mood is definitely 5! Gosh that was awesome. The gameplay was not that thrilling (just so I also have some negatives in my wannabe quality feedback), but the atmosphere of the game... man. I just wish I could explore the world of your game (even though it probably doesn't even exist). I can feel the world from just this one room. You did amazing job with the graphics and the music putting them together. So far my favourite moody game of this LD. Good luck with all the other voters.
The visuals are tremendous. It doesn't even look like a Ludum Dare game but full time game instead. It was well executed and I think it deserves to be in the first 100 graphics category for sure.
It goes without saying, that this will definitely be among the first one hundred winners. Graphics, sound, smooth gameplay, fun gameplay (however, I wasn't able to try multiplayer), and overall feeling of a NES classic. Great entry! P.S: We all know where the inspiration came from, so I won't talk about that ;)
It sure was fun. Even though I sucked hard, haha! The idea is promising, maybe too hard (at least for noobs like myself). What I liked the most was the music, which gave me hope in my desperate dying. I've also encountered a bug, where at one moment my character was moving to the left as was shooting without me touching the keyboard. But that might have been just my PC problem. Overall cool game :)
Jeez! That was really challenging. Very entertaining nevertheless! The music and art were cute, the gameplay design is actually very cool. I had a blast, honestly :)
Man, that was fun as hell. I assume it was your kiddo, very cute! The normal mode was very easy and the hard mode was very hard, but I enjoyed both of them. Really cool game and nice idea for a game. The gameplay was rather smooth. Good job!
Very trippy game, which I assume was the point. Great experience, however I had no idea what's the goal of the game. Maybe it would be cool to have like one specific place to arrive or something. Other than that it was really cool and well executed. I love the old school 3D graphics.
THAT-WAS-AWESOME! The music, the graphics, and most importantly the idea itself. First I was like "Cool, what a cute aliens going to a party... Ok... what should I do then? Will there be any enemies or something?... GAME OVER... WHAT?! I was supposed to kill those cuties?!" HAHA.
- PROS: Great music, graphics and execution. Very entertaining and arcady/infinit gameplay makes it even more enjoyable.
- CONS: Nothing (maybe the music was too loud, but that can be changed on player's side, so no probs there)
I love typing games, so I really enjoyed this one. Even thought there wasn't anything else but typing (like a backstory or something) it was still fun. I managed about 33 or 35 papers, it's really hard. And that's good. I've always considered myself a good type writer - this game proved me wrong, haha! - Pros: Entertaining, short and infinite gameplay (best option for a jam game). The music in the background fits well too. - Cons: Sometimes when you write, other words are changing too. It doesn't seem like a problem but for me it was. It's easy to write things like "Work", "Superb", "Knife", because you don't even think about these words, you know them. However, if you have words like "rk", "erb", "ife", you stop for a second thinking how to even write them.
LoL, I really dig the idea. So funny. The graphics are awesome, and game itself is very entertaining and hilarious. Great entry.
Best game I've played this LD! No doubt about it. From graphics, through music to gameplay itself, this game is a masterpiece. It doesn't feel like a jam game at all. I bet this will be one of the winners.
I remember seeing this project when I opened LD site on Saturday. It looked so much fun. I was waiting to try this out and... WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED AT ALL! This is really fun, I wish it was a full time game with other features like buying new ships, upgrades and stuff. For me it was the best entry I've played so far :) PS: The narrative makes it even better!
Lol, what an idea! I really had fun like never!
This was really funny! Love the artwork and sounds. The gameplay was suprisingly entertaining, and I really wanted to best myself, to the point that I gave up because it became just too hard. So for me, one of the best games I've played so far.
A love those cute models! :) Interesting game. Maybe too hard, but that's just me being noob.
Hi thanks a lot for your feedback. You are right, the reason why it's not perfect is because of the time schedule.Even though I went Jam, I had only about 30 hours (sleep included). PS: That GUI you snipped is default, my bad.
@azamatika Sorry to disappoint you. I know it's not very thrilling, but I was happy to at least participate this time :)
It was nice. But I would appreciate if you put some obstacles around to make it more diverse. Like walls, hills, something like that. Besides that it was cool.
I'm really sorry, but I was not able to move at all. I literally pressed every single key on my keyboard, but nothing happens. :( Shame, I like the cute graphics and the sound effects fit well.
Great game, with great graphics and gameplay. The only thing I would change is the way camera moves, because when I move to the right I can't see much what is in front of me.
@twinghosts Hey. Yeah something like that, or just make it still. Because now it's like the character is "faster" than the camera and you go basically blind. But otherwise it was really cool Game. I love these dark stories :-)
Love the mood, however the gameplay was not that thrilling, for which I don't blame you as it's normal during LD jam. Overall pretty Sweet game, I love the atmosphere, music, and overall visuals :-)
What a great entry! I really like the idea of gameplay and execution. Maybe it would be even better if it was a bit more difficult, but I understand that it's not a good idea to make a hard game for LD as people wouldn't be able to finish it. I tried to find any flaw, to give a quality feedback, but I really can't think of anything. It's simple, but it's simplicity is what it makes a great game :)
Kinda basic concept, but good implementation. I would say this is one of the more original ideas I've seen so far. :)
Interesting idea. I really love the artstyle!
I tried to make similar concept last year (Project Madness). Well I have to admit your game is way more polished. Great entry.
This was perfect! I loved the atmosphere and the graphics were top notch.
First of all I love that you worked on this as a family :) About the game itself. I really liked the scream sound effect (I just hope no one got hurt in real life, haha), and the music with graphics were also cool. Not gonna lie, the gameplay was not exactly thrilling, but it was fun for a while :) For me it was a really nice experience.
The mood was incredible, and I don't even need to mention the art. It's simply out of this world. However, the gamplay itself wasn't that much fun. Honestly I wasn't sure what I was doing most of the time. I like the idea behind it, but it felt like my actions didn't matter that much. But that was probably just my bad.
I love the cute graphics :) Nice entry.
Funny and cute :)
Wow, this was really something. As a huge Lovecraft fan, I really enjoyed this. Loved the animations and gamplay idea. PS: it took me like 7 waves when I realized that I can build buildings! Haha! Great entry guys, I really loved it. I hope you will be one of the winners :)
No way! Someone is using AGS! I've been working with AGS for many years now. I think this is the first time I see AGS entry on LD :) ... About the game itself. Really hard to control the dot, but I understand it should be challenging. I would prefer more adventure-like gameplay, but it quite cool.
As a fan and creator of board games myself, I very much approve and love your idea! You really put a lot of work in this one.
I love it. It's really cool to see games like these on LD :) Nothing against arcade jumpy games, but it's great to have something like this for a change.
Love the music, man! The graphics and music together create incredible atmosphere. I really like the idea you created... I am always completely honest though. The gameplay itself is not very compelling, but the other aspects are cool enough to make it fun :)
What a great compliment to Warcraft series (which I am a huge fan of). Graphics are very advanced and gameplay is interesting enough. :)
Music and graphics were out of this world. This is not LD this is full time game mate! So cool. Did you make the music yourself? Were you in a team or alone?
Cute but too harsh. Funny nevertheless. I just hope no one gets offended by this.
It's really sad only 10 people played this game. It's gorgeos. I hope you will reach 20 ratings in time. This one is a really nice game ^^. Maybe the physics were too harsh, but that may just me being a noob, haha.
I like the idea, and boy, do I love the art! Music is nice and it is fitting, nothing over the top. The only thing I would change is the difficulty and maybe the different "enemies coming" so it doesn't feel so same. But I understand that the time pressure is very limiting and also I feel like this game was supposed to be a full arcade-like which then it is a good entry.
@cax @bredera @nisovin @fictions @blotosaur @chambre19 @lone-wolf @velvetlobster Guys, thanks a lot for playing my game, and also thank you all for such kind words!
@lone-wolf I will do that as soon as I get home (sorry been very busy this week). My bad I should have zipped it in the first place, this happened to me last ludum dare as well.
@catiliangames Wow, thanks for your feedback, much appreciated. What exactly do you mean by "this type of game". You mean fantasy, mysterious, or adventures in general? Well that's basically all I do, haha, so considering that, my skills should be much better than this, I think I still have a lot to learn. Thank you though ^^. And also the theme... well, I know it wasn't well thought, but that was the first idea that came to my mind - Start with nothing (in your book) and try to get some info to write about.
@iluvatar Oh man, thanks! I don't want to sound like a smug, but actually I had to finish on Sunday evening (haha) because of family stuff. Even though I submit my games as Jams, I only have two days to spare. I think the reason why I manage to do them in time, is that I use Adventure Game Studio software which is reeeeeallly easy to code your games in. So 70% of my time is used on art and the rest is simple coding. So no, I am not as good as I could be. Well, I don't have twitter (yet), but if you are interested in my and team's games you can check out our Ichio site.
https://digital-mosaic-games.itch.io/
All games there are basically just LD jam entries. Except Metaphobia which is more "professional" adventure let's say. It is full length 90's like, fully voiced, adventure similar to Broken Sword or Gabriel Knight. For Metaphobia though, I didn't do any art (thank goodness), I wrote the story, dialogs and puzzles for that one. You can try whatever you like, it's all free :)
You can also find our facebook page here:
https://www.facebook.com/Metaphobia/
@stasm Thanks my friend! By the way, Gobliiins is one of my most favourite games of all time!
Yeah using any font in such a low res is kinda hard. I needed to use as small font as possible so I could fit the text to the book.
"I now want to know what those giants are and who had carved the stones!" - Don't we all? ;)
I love crafting games that are made in LD, because they are hell of a fun, and this one took it to another level. I like how you just casually cruise around and build your ship. What I love the most is the variety I can put the parts in order. That's really crafty!
Haha, this is the cutest, craziest entry I've seen so far. I'm so glad people come up with these ideas so it's something different from all the other games. Good job guys. PS: Extra star for Bork!
It is more of a short animated story than a game, but very beautiful nevertheless. I'm not gonna lie (as I try to be as honest as possible in my reviews), I wasn't very much impressed by the gameplay. However, the art evened everything up! Animations and the backgrounds are very well made and if the gameplay was more interesting I dare to say that it would be one of my favourite games I've played so far. The music also fits the atmosphere very well. Anyway I'm glad I found your game and was able to enjoy the nice moody atmo :)
I really wonder, have you used some premade assets or were you able to do this beautiful art by yourself within just 72 hours? Because it is truly impressive. Beautiful game. Honestly the gameplay is not that thrilling, but considering the fact that the game as a whole feels good, I think it is a pretty solid entry.
@andreadbx Wow, this is impressive! Good job man! I have literally no idea how 3D modeling work, so for me this is mindblowing. Keep up the good work.
Is it suppose to be "Titany thing" or "Tit anything"? Haha. Nice entry friend.
Ah, sweet 2010's when people are coming up with the craziest ideas just to stand out in those tens of thousand games that people create everyday all over the internet. I have three words for you: Absolutely love it!
It's crazy, it's funny, it's actually good, well thought, original, cute, the has it all. You guys deserve to be at least top 50 in this jam.
I love the idea and I believe if you had more time this would be a really cool full time game, not only a game jam entry. I loved the grindy aspect and the difficulty as well. Even though I failed so many times I still had a good time. Also the graphics were amazing. Im not sure if there should be any sounds, because I couldn't hear any, it would definitely added more to the overall feel of the game.
What is it with hobos this jam, haha! This is like fifth game already I saw that featured hobos in it. Pretty cool entry indeed.
Looks like an awesome game guys. Unfortunately I only have PSVR. However looks like a great entry. Kudos for making a VR game in such a short time!
This was hell of a fun! Love the NES graphics reference. The gameplay was rather simple, but so much fun. Love the witty dialogs. One of the most charming games I've played in years in LD competition. Good job.
MAN! Definitely the best games I've played so far! The atmosphere feels like a full time game, not a jam entry. The radio in the office is so well done, sounds like a true radio news. But when my balls dropped was the part when you arrived to the crime scene and the Jazzy music started playing. Amazing entry. P.S.: I used the right ALT ;) (not sure if easter egg or some kind of feature left from testing phase, funny nevertheless, haha!)
I love the atmosphere and an extra start for Lovecraftian theme (my most favourite stuff). The only negative thing I would suggest to change is the visibility. I understand that it is suppose to add to the mood of the game (which it does tremendously!), however it is hard to move around in such darkness. Anyway, your entry is one of the best I've played, at least from the mood point of view. Thanks for creating this one.
Oh yeah, good old text adventure! I liked the idea, maybe the only thing I would change is the player's input. I prefer when you need to make decision every time a new text appears not only pressing space bar most of the time. Anyway, this is a game jam, so we all know that time is very limiting so I truly understand.
However, I gave you an extra star for having the balls of making this rather obsolete genre which also happen to be one of my most favourite ^^
Not gonna lie, at first I didn't even want to continue, but after a while it got so ridiculous that it was actually pretty funny.
There are not that many games that make you speechless and entertained such as this one. I just loved it! Man you got an extra points from me for the SNES aesthetics, graphics, sounds and overall design. I love how much details you have put to the game. Even options like skipping a level when dying too much. The gameplay is so smooth it really feels like playing it on SNES (except using a mouse instead haha). One of my most favorites entries so far.
@landerack Thanks a lot for your feedback! Well I originally planned to do lot more, but as always during LD jams, I just couldn't make it, so I had to cut the whole idea into this. Maybe I will work on the game after LD ratings are finished. I just liked the idea of being a general in the castle siege :)
Great atmosphere and well polished for a LD game! The controls are rather funky, but I like the "VR" kind of handling things around. Pizza dropped on my heart, and I wasnt able to pick it up! Stupid pizza! Hahah, had a lot of fun with this one.
Okay, so this is definitely the best game I have played so far. It doesn't even look like a jam game. Looks like some serious game for 20 bucks on steam. The graphics are over the top quality and the physics are just flawless. Can't believe you managed to finish this in less than 72 hours. The only negative thing (I always try to find some to give good feedback) is the camera movement. When you are driving too fast, the camera is not keeping up with the car. But besides that, the game is flawless and fun.
It was fun, but very hard. But love the idea and the humorous tone. Now I understand why so many people hate cats. Evil creatures.
Attention seeking bastards! I couldn't keep up with their greedy asses, HAHA. Absolutely love it. The gameplay is engaging and challengin, in the later stages too much challenging, but that means more fun right? Very fun game to play.
Haha, I was literally laughing. As a father I can confirm that babies have some kind of sensor for dangerous things. I had a lot of fun, but it was frustrating sometimes, and sometimes even uplayable when the babies spawned in the wrong position. For example the right baby kept sinking even before I got to him. So maybe it would be better for the babies to start a bit closer to you? But that's really just a minor detail. Overall it's really entertaining and I can imagine playing this on my phone while waiting for a bus or something. Great entry.
Definitely love the graphics and the idea. However, I was not able to find out how to operate with the storage, because it stopped working and I wasn't able to send cofees to the customers. I really love the idea and mechanics, and would love to play it more, but I couldn't just continue. I bet it must be my fault, not your game, so did not rate the game poorly for that. Also would love to have some "zoom out" feature, because the scrolling is a bit tedious, but nothing game breaking :)
It's simple, but fun. For this type of game I would imagine the music and overall mood to be more positive/cheering. I mean I like the dark mood, so that's a good one for me. Also I would personally add (but it is okay the way you did it) something like a score-meter how far you were able to get. Something like flappy bird but upwards.
Love the aesthetics and the mood in this game. The gameplay is not too challenging, but it is not boring either. I don't know why, but the background reminds me very much a game called Urban Champion for NES. Haha. Overall as for me, I enjoyed it very much.
hqdefault.jpg
Hands down, the best LD entry I played so far. It was so funny! I love how the people react, and the fact you can actually draw your own meme in the beginning. It's these little details that create a great experience. I wasn't able to finish the game, but had like 26/33 Posters and 5/7 people spoken to. Simple as it seems it was really fun. Love the satire tone you were trying to achieve, and you've done an excellent job.
Ok, so first minute I was like "Well... this is kind of boring", but when I heard the sound effects and Mr. Cuddles appeared. Damn, I was literally laughing on the floor. The gameplay is not challenging but relaxing and the dialogs and overall aesthetics make it fun and entertaining experience. PS: Loved the wind and lightning effects so much!
Alright, so this is the first time I gave someone 5* for Audio, because this is just brilliant. I love self-made audio effect, especially these "spoken" ones. The gameplay is hell of a fun and it is the most fun game I have played so far. This is what an LD entry should look like. Short and entertaining :)
PS: On the easy level, I would suggest to send the ships earlier, because I could kinda cheese the points by spamming the food at one place. But that is the only "negative" I could find. It is just perfect :)
Haha, the chick likes to make it harder for you. Not a bad game for your first game at all. The physics were smooth, graphics very nice, sound adds a nice mood to the game. Overall nice and fun entry.
Very cute game with terrific graphics. The gameplay is surprisingly fun, even though it is very simple. However making a simple game for Ludum Dare is nothing negative, so that's fine with me. You got extra points for the attention to detail when you can change the Pandas! That really made my heart warm. Overall very cool and nice entry :)
Absolutely love it! I will be completely honest, I was not able to pass the third level. I tried like twenty times, no luck. I guess I am just bad at puzzle games. Anyway, the game was well done, cute and I really loved the music. I assume the music is a third party product, since you out-opted the "sound" category. That's totally fine my friend, I love it anyway, and I appreciate the music selection, and I don't care whether you made it or not. Overall, very good entry, with a lot of positive, children-friendly vibes :)
Did not expect to be fun, but for such a simple concept I really enjoyed it. I loved the monster trying to bite me all the time haha.
I had a good time, mostly thanks to the great smooth physics and controls. What I didn't like that much (but I am a noob) is that the game got hard and overwhelming very fast. I just couldn't keep up with the enemies and died quickly. But fits the theme perfectly as well as is fun to play, so a good game for me :)
Things I enjoyed: Graphics, sound effects, relaxing gameplay, good interpretation of the theme.
Things I would have changed: Gameplay mechanics, there were basically just two types of clicks. Which is understandable for a LD entry, but maybe for the future reference it would be cool to add at least like four elements that you need to take care of.
Interesting game. I don't like blood very much, and surgeries even less, but I kinda enjoyed this one, don't know why.
The gameplay was more engaging than I expected. The pace is a bit oldschool-ish which is a good thing. I kinda had that vibe of playing some arcade game from 1982 :)
First of all I really love the animation and the physics as they are very smooth. I also like the idea of portal traveling and it felt nice running around doing stuff. But one thing I would suggest to change, and that is "one hit death". I would go with something like 3 hearts system or anything else than just dying from one touch of an enemy :). But overall it was a very pleasant experience, thank you!
I think this was the best non-engaging game I have ever played. I had a blast, I laughed so hard and I didn't even do anything, haha. Love it!
A couple of technical stuff: - From Day 2, the trains started to spawn in the middle of the intersection, instead of ouside of the screen. - I decided to "kill" the train, and after that the game just went whitescreen forever and froze on me.
But overall really cool concept and I had a great time.
@bereg @lestat @raniere @azagaya @syafire @testuser @neragoth @squidzilla @tom-stephenson @twoscoops Guys, I can't thank you enough for your comprehensive and useful feedback. I am so happy that you generally liked my game even though it was just a simple little story. Thank you, thank you thank you ^^
PS: I will try to play all our games as well, I have played some of your games already.
@dis0rder Hello! Thanks a lot for your feedback. Yeah, the linux version is kinda like "generated by proxy" when compiling the game. I simply generated the game and it automatically creates this Linux folder within the game folder. I forgot to remove it as I often do :)
I agree that I missed many things I wish I had more time to add even more details such as more responses, longer dialogues (well, longer for these low IQ robots anyway), and more interactions, but I tried to do my best to at least focus on the important stuff.
@oillen Thank you very much for your kind words! I didn't even think for a second that it is similar to Blaze from outer space, but the fact that you remember my entry from like two years ago, is really heartwarming!!!
Yeah, normally I would be focused on more details, such as interesting combinations and interesting puzzles and dialogues, but needless to say, it is a Jam and I had only so much time.
A good point about the fact that I didn't inform the player about item interactions. I definitely should have done that. I think I just took it for granted that people know this stuff, but I simply forgot that P&C adventures are not popular anymore :)
Thank you once again for playing my game and I am really really happy you enjoyed it.
What a challenging game, haha. The timer is really unforgiving. But overall I really liked your game. I like the idea and the aesthetics are very nice, even though they are simple :)
I'm sorry I don't see the download/play link anywhere :)
@sam-machell I'm so sorry, I totally missed that note. Stupid me :) I will wait then.
Hi, I really liked the cute graphics and a nice relaxing music. The gameplay itself is entertaining too, but I think I might have had some technical problems. I was not able to put down crab traps. I was able to do it only once, but then I wasn't able to use the "R" every again. Maybe check that if it was a bug or anything :)
For such a simplistic gameplay I had a lot of fun. I really appreciate the sound effects, especially the voice over. You did a good job and it adds a lot to the experience.
PS: It took me a while until I realized that I shouldn't "hunt" sabers, as they take me back in time
Ok I really need to prepare my comment for this one, because it was a freaking amazing!
I will start with the the most positive thing and that is humor. I gave you straight 5* and would have given you 10 if I could. I literally laughed from the start to the end. I was laughing so hard the very first second the game loaded. The Ginea pig guy and his "voice" just killed me. Also the whole tone of the game, the little funny details such as "ratmazon.com" and my most favorite "rat bull". The character design and the dialogues are just straight up hilarious. Amazing office satire.
Now to be proper and useful, I also need to add some negative feedback as well. The only negative I would maybe change was the amount of "clicks" you needed to do between the rounds. Those 5000 were a lot. I mean it would be cool if this was a full time idle mobile game, but because it is a Ludum Dare game, when people can spend only a few moments, I would make it faster just for the sake of Ludum Dare effectivity. But that is just a small price for such amazing experience :) Thank you for that.
I am sorry, but I was not able to play the game properly, because it was laggy as hell. I assume it was an issue on my end, since other people were able to play it, so I do not take it in consideration. Anyway, because I couldn't play it, I will rate you only for graphics and music, and for those two I must say that I love both so much. I wish I was able to run the game properly, because I really love the atmosphere.
Thank you for this! This game really reminds me of the early 2000's indie games, don't know why. Probably the art approach and style :) love it, very nostalgic for me.
This is one of the most technically interesting games I've played on any Ludum Dare event. Especially when your game was a COMPO. Wow, my respect :)
I loved the gameplay, it was so much fun, and the dragon kept me under pressure and I really felt like I had to try. Many LD games are more relaxing and lay-back experiences, but your game was a true arcade gem.
To have a sound would help a lot, but again, it is a compo, so I didn't even take it in consideration.
PS: I really raged when I finally got all 10 coins and the stupid ass dragon killed me like two blocks from the finish, haha!
Great entry :)
Interesting story idea. It was a bit sad, and the atmosphere was on spot. But just like Pixel Maniacs said, it would be better to make the character more distinctive from the background. :)
You've got a nice game here. I like the concept. It was not too challenging, but that is expected from a Ludum Dare game. So overall pretty cool experience :)
PS: The music is really cool and spooky
I love the light tone of the game and the platypus guy is cute haha. The physics are in my opinion a bit crazy, I was flying all around the screen, but it might have been negative for some, I found it funny as hell! I really laughed at my fails before I got used to the controls. And I very much appreciate the space mood you created with such beautiful graphics :)
I really loved the music and art combination. Very immersive atmosphere. The gameplay itself is rather passive, but I did not mind at all. I was enjoying the melancholic mood so much. I had just one issue. After I asked the girl out, this happened (picture below). It looks like I got stuck in the middle of two scenes and the game froze. I couldn't move. But overall, very cool game guys :)
CaptureCommute.PNG
So funny! The graphics are really beautiful and the music is just on spot. I wish there were more levels, but for a LD it is just enough. Love your entry, good job :)
This was simply A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. I really felt like talking to a real person. The dialogues were well written, the responses were cool and the whole concept of the card and dialogues was just on spot. I loved the little details such as wife kicking her legs just like girls like to do when sitting in the air :). It was really cute, seeing her enjoying the ride.
The dialogues were thoughtful and full of hard decision. Maybe the only one thing I would change would be to have more options, because sometimes I just wanted to say something else but I couldn't and then I felt bad for saying that stuff (like with the kids for example). But overall it was really great experience.
Simple but pretty game. What I loved the most were the small details that added to the experience. Like the small animations when doing tasks, or hearts when kissing wife :) Nice and relaxing game.
First I was like "Ok this will be very basic.", but then I had a blast, I really did! I mean you made such a simple chore a huge fun! I really loved the animations and small barely noticable details such as passing by planets and stuff like that. And the music, oh boy, how I loved it. The wasn't too hard but was challenging and fun at the same time.
The gameplay was rather basic, but still fun and challenging. The cat was really fast! haha
Pretty simple yet effective. I like the idea. What I love the most is the moody purple aesthetics. It just gives me dark vibes which fit great :)
I really liked your game! I gave you 5* for innovation, because I just love the concept so much. The graphics are pretty too, the music is just cool for such a game and overall experience is very nice. You put so much work into this game :) The only negative feedback I can provide is the clunky camera. I got used to it, but the mouse movement, rotating camera felt unresponsive and weird. But that was just a minor details :)
LOL, you really got me with this one. My most favorite part was "GroundHogness" option. I laughed so hard, haha!
PS: Delete that screen shot of "GroundHogness" from this page, otherwise you spoil a huge surprise and fun. I only noticed it after I played your game, but most people will probably see it beforehand. :)
I really liked the art as well as sound effects (especially BARK BARK :D ). But I will be honest with you, I was not sure what I was suppose to do. Can you maybe write some description of the gameplay on this page? :)
Alright, I will say it now before anyone else: You will definitely be in the top 25!
So far the best game I've played this LD. Funny, great execution, amazing sounds and music, and most importantly catchy gameplay.
I would maybe change one thing though. The shield idea is really, cool but its placement unfortunately takes aways the attention from dancing Bjorn, which is shame, because I loved looking at him. So I would maybe put the shield/runes somewhere either around the character or right underneath him so we can both watch the runes and the guy :)
But overall, amazing and pleasant experience. Thank you for this.
I'm sorry, but the game froze right after the intro :(
I'm not gonna lie, I wasn't too enganged in the gameplay, but what really kept me playing was the art. I just love it. It is so cute and cartoony. It adds an excellent atmosphere to the game.
Wow you really got serious about the art. I love it :) And overall interesting concept.
This is what a high quality LD entry should look like! It's quick, easy to learn, simple yet fun, and most importantly it is polished so beautifully. I had a feeling like playing some full-time developed game, not a game jam entry. 5* for innovation from me, as it really caught my interest.
I had a great time. It was very repetitive (which was the point), so I am happy with that. I really liked the smooth movement together with satisfying animations (the rocket is so cool!) and the graphics, oh boy how I loved the color selection. The dark colors really added so much to the game :) . I loved the relaxing music too.
PS: It took me a while to get even to the first door! But after a few attempts I managed to get used to the gameplay and it wasn't that hard. Yet still great fun.
As a veteran who used to play text adventures I really appreciate this from all the platformers and action games around here. I love the writing style as well as cool details like music in the background, which is not typical for text adventures. It adds a lot of atmosphere. Overall, really cool stuff my friend :)
The game is fun enough I can imagine this to be a full time Steam game. Maybe you can colaborate on it after the Jam ends :) I really like your artstyle and I also watched the timelapse video. Pretty cool. Very solid entry especially for a Compo!
This game is really cool and was more fun than I expected. Yes, it is a simple "mobile" clicker, but I don't know why I actually had fun playing it. The graphics are amazing, the music is simply beautiful, and overall mood is just on point, relaxing.
The gameplay is fun, however it is rather broken. You have no motivation to build anything but forges, because those are insanely profitable. However, I liked to "roleplay my gamethrough", so I even build nice houses for my little guys. But yeah, it would be cool if you put some limitations to forges and make the player think more about their actions. But other than that, pretty cool game guys, good job :)
This picture was taken like 15 seconds after I dug in the level 3 :D
Capture.PNG
And here is my treasure that was stolen from me *sob sob*
Capture2.PNG
I have very mixed feelings about this game. I totally loved it, but I experienced some technical issues. Unfortunately the game ran like 10-15 fps for me, so sometimes it was almost unplayable and resulted in uneccessary deaths. But other than that. BOY! The artstyle is straight from heaven (get it?). It is just unbelievable you guys managed to make something like this in 72 hours. The animations and overall atmosphere feels just as if I played fully flashed video game. If I saw this game outside of Ludum Dare event, I would think it is a full game. Just incredible.
@listonos @baturinsky @appelnonsurtaxay @rhoff95 @made3 THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR FEEDBACK! I really really appreciate it.
I realize that the game is very short, but my main focus are aesthetics, so that's why the gameplay is more or less boring. Unfortunately I am not a coder, so it also takes a lot of time and effort to code even the simpliest things :)
@baturinsky I thought about that, but LD is something like a relaxing weekend for me. I love to be all by my own doing what I want and how I want.
@dis0rder Thank you for playing my game! Yeah, I know what you mean. I initially wanted the game to be like 50% all about the computer interactions. I even made a whole PC interface graphics for this. I wanted to make some files about the job, even a minigame! But as always, every LD, we need to cut off some contect in order to make the game finished in the given time.
Big-House.png
@jin9310 Thank you Jin! It means so much coming this from you!
@oillen Wow, thank you so much for your ultra comprehensive review. I really really appreciate it <3
@sheinxy Thank you very much for your comment. I would like to say "Who knows *wink wink*", but I'm afraid I already know that I will not continue with this game. Unfortunately, I don't have that much time nowadays.
@dis0rder Thank you for rating my game! ... How did Barry get the job? I guess he slept with his boss, but I doubt because he is lazy EVEN FOR THAT! That's just typical Barry.
I see how much you like strategy games. I am impressed you managed to code something like this in a weekend. It would take me months to code something this complex. The gameplay is rather simple but fun. The tutorial could have been more accessible as the while text is barely readable in some places, but other than that I had no issues. Pretty solid game for a LD Jam.
BRUH! This is just brilliant. You don't see a game this polished and fun too often. It feels like a full flashed game and not just a Jam Game. Just amazing.
Also me: I hate this game so much, haha. Make me rage. :D
Amazing graphics. Love the color palette selection. The gameplay is rather simple but fun! I dont think I had any issues worth mentioning. Maybe it could be a biz faster, but only for the sake of Ludum Dare ratings effectivity.
This game is so amazing. I am in love with the graphics and overall atmosphere. The game mechanics are simple but engaging and fun. I really love the feature that you actually need to drag the resources back to your base, instead of just picking everything up automatically. This makes it more immersive. Great job guys.
HAHA, I really had a blast. It is such a cool concept and idea for an LD Jam. Guys you have made an amazing job. Graphics, music, gameplay, everything is so smooth and feels like a fully flashed game. I love the semi-dramatic irony tone of the "story". Just amazing.
Just Amazing game! I love the Diablo vibes and melancholic music in the background. What really surprised me in a good way was the weapon design. I love how it merges sword and bow in the same weapon. Just brilliant!
The only thing I would give you as a little bit of negative feedback, is that I would appreciate if the girl attacked according to your mouse position. I often forgot that I needed to move to the right for example, and then click.
Wow, this was damn scary. I really love the atmosphere in this game, the graphics and sound is just amazing. I really felt suspense when I was swimming around the predatory fish. And hell, some passages were hard! But that's a good thing. Amazing entry. I am just afraid not everyone managed to finish this game, because in some parts it felt really challenging.
I love the mood and atmosphere in this game as well as super smooth gameplay. Smashing those blue orbs was really satisfying.
The only thing I would suggest to do is probably to add some score system so the player is motivated to smash more enemies/orbs.
This was fun. Very challenging but fun. I really loved the NES-ish vibes from graphics and audio.
I really love the cute character and animations. It feels like playing a full flashed game, not only LD entry. The controls are also nice and responsive. Gameplay is simple enough but fun :)
Hi @jin9310 , it's me, David Brocek :) So I finally got to play your game. BOY, IT IS SO DAMN PRETTY! I just love how gorgeous it looks. The gameplay is pretty simple, yet fun. I really liked when you were running and jumping how Bob was still kicking his legs in the air. I guess it wasn't intended, but to me it added so much character to the animation and felt comedic and cute!
Overall pretty solid entry. The controls were rather responsive, but maybe I would like if the guy was running and jumping a bit faster, but other than that, just amazing. Oh yea, and did I mention the graphics? THEY ARE GORGEOUS!
Guys seriously, the most fun game I've played so far! Straight up 5 stars! It was so well done, so simple yet so challenging and entertainning. The graphics are really amazing for a LD entry.
Pros: Excellent graphics, awesome and super fun gameplay Cons: Low FPS (but that could be cause by my mediocre computer)
Extra con: I COULD NOT SCORE A BASKET BALL POINT! Haha!
Note: I also experienced this error, when I clicked on NEW GAME, the screen just froze in this blurred image.

It is an idea game for an LD event. It is simple and intuitive BUT FUN! What I loved the most was the jetpack feature. It was so much fun to fly around and use it against the opponents. It was so smooth and the psysics were well made. The only thing I was missing was probably some indication when you die, like a screen saying "You died" or something. But other than that, it was really fun.
I love the cute graphics. The gameplay is simple, but with the pretty aesthetics the experience is really nice :)
Hello man, I can't even stress enough how much I appreaciate someone making a board game for Ludum Dare. That's just amazing! I think there is always just like one or two people making board games each LD.
Unfortunately I don't have materials and time to test your game, I voted for it according to your video. I hope it's okay. AND I LOVED IT! I am amazed you managed to test a board game only within 48 hours especially when you have so many pictures for each card. You have my respect friend.
This is so well done! The gameplay is really cool, I really love how you created this system of different buttons and levers. It makes the game so much fun. And the graphics and music are just amazing. I never understand how can someone make such graphics in less than 72 hours. Well done man/girl/team!
Hands down the most interesting game I've played so far. I can't believe you have made something like this in only 72 hours. The graphics are just unbelievable and you even managed to make The Portal game??? How??? That's just incredible.
PS: Extra points for that first slide in the beginning, that was such fun :)
Hands down my most favorite game so far! Guys, you made this game so much fun. There were 4 different genres in one game. My most favorite parts were the lungs, I just enjoyed jumping like a superhero! And of course the Dark Souls-like fight against alcoholic liver enemies was amazing (LOVED THAT SWORD!).
To give you some comprehensive feedback, I would like to see something a little bit more challenging at the end. The tumor removal was very easy. Maybe it would be cool to cut the tumor with mouse, and fight of enemies with keyboard at the same time? But other than that I really had a blast.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PS: Did I understand correctly that the guy died at the end?
Reminds me of Lemmings a lot. The gameplay is REALLY FUN! I also like the graphics, especially the animations of those little guys. Very cool game mate!
Most atmospheric game I've played so far, and one of the most atmospheric games I have ever played on any LD event before. Tremendeous effort was put into this aspect. The music and art is just brilliant and it doesn't even feel like playing a Jam game. It feels like a fully developed game. Just amazing. Relaxing yet unsettling, and this is why it was so interesting.
PS: I can't imagine how you managed to organize work between 12 people. That must have been the hardest part of your development. Good job guys, every single one of you!
Very simple but very entertaining! I really got into it and couldn't stop. Love the pretty graphics and intuitive controls. Sound effect also feel satisfying. Maybe it would be cool to add some more challenges or make the game more challenging. Even though it was entertaining, it felt very easy and I felt too powerful. But other tha that, very cool game.
Pretty cool concept! I really enjoyed it. The mood is very cool and the gameplay is fun. I really enjoyed drawing those pictures. Controls were super cool and responsive
I really like the that retro feel. Feels like playing those old NES/MD-DOS infinite space flying games. It gets pretty tough later on, but I had fun. And I think this kind of game is idea for an LD entry. It is fast and easy to understand.
HELLO POINT & CLICK BROTHERS/SISTERS!
As a huge P&C fan, I was thrilled to see another game of this genre. Not many LD entries do that. The atmosphere and the graphics are just gorgeous. I can't believe you actually made so many rooms! And the animations are just smooth as hell. Love the toungue in cheek humor as well. Just brilliant guys. Loved every single second of it.
I think this is one of the most beautiful games I've played so far. Graphics, music and atmosphere are top notch, and the gameplay seems boring on paper, but is HELLA FUN in practice! I had so much fun. I love how the game feels relaxing and humorous at the same time. The breathing mechanics are really cool and makes the "boring racing game genre" so much fun instead.
This is an artistic masterpiece! The graphics are simply amazing and the music adds so much depth to the atmosphere. The gameplay is simple, but that's not what I was focusing on. I tried to immerse myself into that beautifully crafted world. The only problem I had with this game was very low FPS, maybe around 10 or 15. But other than that, one of the prettiest games I've played so far.
The game is a bit confusing at the beginning but it gets better over time. Maybe it would be cool if the life wasn't sucked aways right at the first start. Maybe some tutorial first would be better. But other than that it was a very solid entry. Cool idea and the graphics are amazing and cute. I love those little fishies <3
The gameplay is pretty simple, but I enjoyed the mood, creepy sounds and cool looking graphics. I think it is quite cool game for LD Jam, considering it was created just in 48 hours. For Compo it is an excellent entry!
Interesting concept, though not my type of game, I think it is a solid entry. Well executed mechanics and cute graphics make it a nice experience.
Haha, really appreciate the fact that you had balls to make such a game. The game itself is really straight forward, but the theme makes it funny. It kinda reminds me those early 2000's webgames that were literally just about poops, boogers and stuff like that.
I really love that semi-Dark Souls mood int his game. It is cute but atmospheric at the same time. The music fits so well. The gameplay seems simple at first, but I love how responsive and fun it actually is. The variety of weapons really positively surprised me and the movement of enemies was also very well done. Great entry for sure.
It is a cool concept and the gameplay is actually very well done for an LD entry. I would love to see this game playing in its full potentional. It would be really cool. The graphics and music are just unbelievable, so moody and it fits the game so well. Love these victorian vibes.
This game was pretty fun for such simple concept. I really enjoyed the high speed jumping and flying around. I really felt like a superman haha! The controls are super-smooth and responsive.
Some things to improve: Add some "winning screen", I didn't know what happened when I killed everyone. But other than that, pretty cool! Some music (probably chiptune) in the background would totally change the experience.
PS: You got an extra star for that f-ing amazing retro cartridge art!
I like the concept and my most favorite part was the atmosphere. Great selection of music and SFX's. The gameplay was rather challenging but still fun.
Haha, I just love these kind of weird game. Every Ludum Dare there are some of these. AND WE NEED THEM! Pros: Fun gameplay, interesting idea, disgusting idea, cool idea! Cons: A bit repeptitive (but hey! aren't all LD game? :) )
I am such a noob! Haha This game was so much fun. I really couldn't stop playing. The premise is very simple, but it is really fun to play. And IT IS HARD AS HELL! At least for a noob like me. Love the graphics and smooth controls. The falling speed was maybe too much for me but that adds the challenge.
Capture.PNG
Unfortunately I was not able to play the game. This appeared after I "pressed any key" at the beginning. It just froze on this frame. I really looked forward to try your game. It looks amazing.
Untitled2.png
It's funny that I played 4 games so far, and 3 OF THEM WERE TEXT BASED GAMES, haha! I love the genre is getting the love it deserves.
This was a lot of fun. I really like the colorful text interface. It helped me a lot to organize my reading and thinking. Extra points for the black background and text, reminds me of playing 80's text adventures :) Very well done.
I like the idea, however the gameplay is kinda slow. I was playing for quite some time and god only got hooked like three fish. Also, I probably misunderstood the controls, but I couldn't catch any of the fish when the "arrow part" occurred. Other than that, it is really nice game. I love the graphics and the chill background sounds.
PS: My wife says "it is like a true fishing simulator... because of the waiting" (haha)
Wow, this is the most fun and polished game I have played so far. I really love the story idea and how you implemented all that glitching stuff, that was amazing. It fits there perfectly, and boy, the graphics are just amazing. I am surprised you managed to do all this alone AND a COMPO?! Just wow mate, well done.
PS: To provide constructive feedback, the fighting could have been done a bit better, like having a longer/wider sword. But other than that, definitely my favorite game so far :)
I LOVE text games! Amazing experience. I was even surprised by the amount of option you had. Most text games on LD are more like "clickable short stories". Loved the music it really added a lot of atmosphere :)
I just love playing these whacky games on LD! Amazing stuff my friend. There isn't much to say really, it is fun and I really enjoyed it. The graphics are humorously bad (in a good way!), and the sound effects are on spot. Good job :)
Hi Jirko, you have a really cool game here. It's harder than it looks :D . Again, the atmosphere and sounds are amazing. Just like all of your games. Maybe I'm a noob, but some generated levels were really hard, and it was almost insta-death for. But overall, pretty sweet game.
Loved this one! It was way more fun than I expected! Very impressive for a COMPO. Love the graphics, music and most importantly the gameplay. I can imagine playing this on my phone from time to time :)
However, I think it would be better if the player could use only the "up" kind of terraforming, instead of "digging down" one. Because it is really easy to cheese the game with just making holes and the balls were all dropping together to the same place. I mean, this is not an issue, but I just think it may steal some challenge from hard core players.
I really love these games that are so simple, yet can generate so much fun. It was well made and I really spent quite some time even in level 2! But I'm just a noob, so... I had a blast with this one. Really well done mate :)
This was more fun than I expected. I can totally see this game playing on my phone from time to time. Maybe just add some more complex mechanics and I think it would be a cool game to relax to.
Loved the graphics and aesthetics. Just too bad you didn't have any music in the background, but that's understandable for a compo. Good job mate :)
Hi Jin! I got to play your game! I liked the idea and the gameplay was fun. Graphics are amazing (as usual), and the sweet animations are cool to look at. I loved the music, it's a chill beat which I really enjoyed.
Maybe the movement speed could have been faster, but that's really my only "problem".
Also I think I experienced a bug. One time I got the bomb in the house No. 0, which I assume doesn't exist because I couldn't find it :D
I really liked it, I can imagine playing this in my free time. Maybe I would just appreciate if you were able to rotate the crates, but I guess that's the part of the puzzle, right? :)
PS: LOVED THE BEATS!
I love the unique balancing physics of the whole island. It was fun trying to balance it perfectly. It's like holding a plate on one finger as a kid and trying to not drop it. I think the gameplay complexity is ideal for Ludum Dare
This game is one of the best I have played in Ludum Dare period. It is quite simple, but it is excellent at what it tries to achieve. If someone told me this is a legit NES game from '85, I would believe him. Definitely one of the most polished game and currently my favorite. I really had a blast :)
This is well made game. I really like the tetris-like idea of fixing up a house. I mean, this could easily be a full release game for android or something. Well done friend. Extra kudos for submiting as COMPO :)
I really love the idea and I would LOVE to play the game, but for some weird reason, I am not able to walk forward. The "W" key is just not working. Everything else is okay, I can go backwards and all, but not forward :(
Cool game! Love the graphics, and most of all, I love the fact that you are using the symbols in a way you do :)
First I was like "Well, this is kinda basic...", but then I ready it was made in 6 hours! WOW, in that case it's amazing. The concept is cool, but I understand it couldn't have been done better due to time restrictions. It would be great to have some more stuff to throw in or some kind of destructive environment to use to feed the reactor. But other than that, really impressive work :)
An action text adventure game! THAT'S CRAZY! And crazy means good! It's simple, but it really made me laugh and I had fun, sweating in stress so the guy don't catch me.
God damn Tixerb! Haha!
Pretty fun game. Note to self: Always read description BEFORE playing the game. I thought I had to run aways from those agry people, only to find out I am the one chasing THEM.
Cool concept with a lot of replayability. Like the graphics and sound effects :)
It's a really ambitious concept for Ludum Dare (especially for Compo!). It was fun to play, but to be honest, I had no idea what I was doing half the time. But I may be just a noob.
Cool game with nice graphics and AWESOME soundtrack. Love the music and mood in your game. The gameplay was fun, a bit repetitive, but hey, it's Ludum Dare, so every game is repetitive/short, so that's okay. Just like @ludokultur said, the game could work even without shooting. So maybe it would be cool to have some kind of stealth mechanic? But that's just an idea :) well done mate
ALIEN? DISCO? I'm in! I'm not used to play Pico-8 games, so this was quite fresh for me. With the gameplay and soundtrack it really felt like playing a NES game, which was awesome. The gameplay was fun, and I really love the music. However, I just felt like there was not much motivation to go on apart from surviving. Some kind of score system would be awesome! Other than that, I think the game was flawless :)
@ludokultur What? That's awesome! I was checking the console some time ago, thinking about learning how to work with it, but I simply could not get over the pixelated interface. I just have hard time reading the text, and writing in such environment. If the coding text was normal text, and everything else was pixelated, that would be great. Aren't there any mods or something?
@ludokultur You sir, just gave me hope. Thank you.
I really like the philosophical and deep vibes this game has. Not your traditional adventure. Very thoughtful. I enjoyed it very much, nice moody music and incredible atmosphere really makes me feel the moment. Gameplay itself is a bit passive, but in such game it doesn't necessarily mean a bad thing. I really liked those little details like picking the words for what I like or don't like.
Overall very strong experience :)
Jesus that's a challenging game haha! :D So hard, but so much fun.
I really love the well executed gameplay and pretty graphics alongside an amazing sound design :)
I think this game has a lot of potential and is pretty good, only if you had an optio to change the controls a little bit. I for example can't play at all with reversed flying, and I wasn't sure how to operate this semi-WSAD and semi-mouse controls, when up and down is done by mouse, but left and right is done by keyboard. I just wish I could do everything with my mouse. But I will not rate you for this, since it may be just my personal trouble with controls in general. Just a feedback so maybe you can tweak your game a little bit :)
Other than this, I really loved the graphics and the atmosphere of space. It felt truly like a fully flashed game. And the voice acting was pretty cool :)
This game is much more deeper than I expected (pun intended). I expected something like scanning three fix and we are done, but I really felt like I truly wanted to explore and every time I found a new species I got really excited. I didn't expect much when I saw screenshots, but I was positively surprised. The only thing I kinda miss is the lack of sound. It could have been such a great and relaxing experience had it have at least some ambient sound or simple music. But I understand it was COMPO, so no hard feelings there :)
Overall pretty cool game and relaxing experience. Loved the graphics, as they are simple, but polished enough to evoke pleasant gameplay.
PS: I found every single thing except for those god damn turles hahahaha
First I was like "Yeah, another shooter, let's get it over with..." Then i was like "DIE MF! Yeah! Take that you green piece of sh..."
Haha, long story short I had a blast, I was so surprised how many upgrades there actually are. I expected to be like three upgrades over and over, but it always surprised me, even after lvl 10, when the game started to be really tough!
Very solid entry, even the graphics and SFX are pretty nice :). Maybe some music/ambience in the background would be cool, but considering that you joined COMPO, I think it is very much justifiable.
SnÃmek obrazovky 2022-04-04 084957.png
One of the best "one-button" Ludum Dare games I've played. Well polished and fun. My HS is 16, because I'm just sooo bad after 10 speed up haha. How the hell did someone get 75? :O
Love the chill music and funny sounds effects. One of my favorites so far :)
It seems like a simple-minded game at first, but the longer you play the more interesting it gets. I really adore the graphics and a relaxing mood of colorful island exploration :) Pretty solid entry especially for a COMPO category.
Straight up mood 5*!
First of all, I insta-downloaded the game just for the visuals. I **ADORE** PS1 graphics, and it just evokes so much emotions for me. I truly felt like playing these good old games on my old PS1.
The gameplay itself is strange to me, because I couldn't figure out what to do exactly, so I was just walking around, looking around, listening to the environments. However, as "dull" as the gameplay was, I truly felt amazing just standing in that world. I don't know why, it was so compelling to just be there.
I usually don't read much description for games to avoid spoilers, so I went fully blind. Honestly, I expected something more like a "haha, we make fun of terrible mass transport system", so it's gonna be a funny game about waiting for a train. Then I saw some kind of shadow, and I expected it to be just a flickering on the screen created by the old graphics rendering. But after a couple of minutes I saw it again, on the other side of the track, and I was like "God damn, that's for real!" So I was genuinely surprised by that.
To wrap things up, I truly enjoyed your game. A LOT. I didn't do much, but a mere presence in this world gave me a lot of entertainment for thanks to its atmosphere alone.
Two of my favorite games mashed up together? Of course I loved it! Overcooked and Stardew Valley, that's just amazing stuff. Loved the art, gameplay was smooth and great audio created pretty peaceful and relaxing experience. One of my favorite games this LD :)
Seriously, I opened the game and was like "nice this guy downloaded some cool music...wait a minute! It's a COMPO!"
Gameplay is rather fun for such a simple mechanics. I like the aura thing, it makes you engage more in combat. Overall experience is pretty cool! Music can do so much. Especially a homemade song like this one.
PS: You have a wonderful voice :)
It was more fun and polished than I expected. Movement was smooth and I really loved those little and well responsive sound effects. It would be cool if you were able to do a little more like maybe even assembling that laser thingy, but that's fine, great effort nevertheless. I adored the art so much, can I ask why did you opt out the rating option? It's probably too short, but that's not a bad thing for a Ludum Dare entry.
PS: That ending got me like "COMON!" Haha. Well done.
Hello Jirko, I've just finished your game and I have to say it has an amazing atmosphere. You really did a good job with graphics and overall mood of the game. I loved that "dark beat" playing, it gives that little girl a nice badass character.
My favorite thing was to hide in bushes and stabby stab those furry mother-f**ers when they passed by haha.
And the ending is cool as hell :) good job
Hands down the most fun game yet! If you didn't tell me this was an LD entry, I would think it is a full game. I would LOVE to play this on my phone. Physics are absolutely amazing and responsive, I like the different spells, such a cool idea. I honestly expected the whole game was just about clicking that one spell, and even THAT would be fun!
And the fact this was all made for COMPO is just mindblowing. Amazing stuff.
Not a negative thing per se, but maybe something you can consider changing. The "wind" spell is a bit overpowered, as you can basically keep the ball in one position for as long as you can, I also tried to cheese it with the side screen, so the ball was generating points for no effort. Also, to make it a little bit more challenging, I think it would be better, if there was some kind of line where you can cast your spells, instead of being able to cast anywhere. Because this way you can keep the ball as high as you want and it may never fall lower.
I really loved that adorable chicken, I especially enjoyed nice polished physics and that "double jump/fly" mechanic, it was cool to jump and fly around :) felt like I had a lot of freedom. Gameplay itself was chill and really loved that relaxing sunny island environment, totally fits the vibes.
PS: I saw your game yesteday, and wanted to play it as soon as I saw it, but I was on my old laptop, and it would take ages to downloand 500 MB, haha. Luckily, I downloaded it today on my PC. But Maybe next time it would be better to scope for smaller games, in case not everyone can afford downloading such huge files. It would be a shame not to try your amazing game :)
I wasn't too sure what to do honestly, so I didn't play for too long, but I liked the execution and graphics. I totally adore the flying effect when planets fly by :)
Definitely one of the most polished games in this Ludum Dare event. Graphics are amazingly done, cool music, and engaging gameplay. And most of all an original concept :) A bit difficult for me as I'm not much into numbers haha, but I still had a lot of fun :)
This was way more fun than I expected. Graphics are phenomenal and gameplay is amazing! Although a little easy for my taste, as it was quite easy to cheese spamming "balloon up" at one point, over and over again. But that's no big deal, it's a game jam, so naturally you can't balance it properly. I still had a lot of fun with this original idea! :)
The only thing I would mention is that it would be good if you were able to delete your people. For example, in my instance, I made 7/7, 4 peons and 3 guards. Then I did not have space for miners, therefore I was not able to upgrade my castle to buy more miners. A bit of a magic circle haha. But I guess that one is on me, as I should have managed my people better.
I like the idea, and totally adore the wait mechanic how it changes the light and shadows according to the time of the day, pretty cool! The games has A LOT OF mechanics, especially for a COMPO entry, so good job with that. I think a little bit more polish could make this game into a fully flashed game for a proper release :) Something like an endless survival.
Overall, pretty cool entry.
It's you again! I love your LD entries so much. Best NES creator in LD community for sure. I adore the graphics, music and overall vibes. Gameplay is pretty well done and really fits the NES theme. Keep up the good work my friend.
First I was like "Ok, traditional skiing game, nice, and good physics, good", then I played, one two, three games, and then I saw a guy playing with me, I look around and see "MMO downhill racing game". AMAZING!
It totally changed my view on this game, it was so much more fun seeing other people emoting and racing with the others. Just cool as hell! Special kudos for pulling up something as cool as online multiplayer on LD jam :)
Only one tip: It would be cool to have chat in the game :) I wished I could say "good job" to my opponents
Ok, I totally did not expect this to be this much fun. Screenshots look very simple, but the gameplay is smooth and really engaging. I enjoyed the doublejump slashing so much and the multiplying-heads mechanic is just amazing. Animations are pretty smooth too. Well done, especially for a COMPO entry.
PS: I didn't have any audio in my game, not sure if that was some kind of bug or your game actually has no audio in it.
I haven't seen this polished Jam game in years. Everything from art direction, music, sound effects, gameplay, tutorial, notes, scoring system... every is perfect even for a normal full release game, that's why it's even more impressive do something like this in 72 hours.
Definitely a 5* in more than one category for me. Great job guys :)
(Note: I didn't have any technical difficulties, apart from three or four instances when characters got stuck in trees and other coliding environment.)
I played this game with a smile on my face the entire time. It's such a simple concept but so well executed. Love those little comments by the politicians haha
Amazing game design, so much fun to play. I honestly didn't expect such a cool game first when I saw your screenshots/GIFs.
Extra kudos for that amazing intro art <3
First of all, the graphics are just tremendous. Especially for a COMPO entry, it's awesome.
Gameplay is fun, I like the catching the lollipop mechanic, isntead of simple "coin grabbing" like in other games. I would appreciate a little faster movement speed, but other than that I really enjoyed it. Also squashing enemies is satisfying as hell :)
This is so god damn funny!!! I couldn't focus because I was just laughing. That character and the whole backstory is just so well done. One of my favorite games so far.
I absolutely adore the art. The gameplay was rather smooth, but it could have been a little faster maybe? But that may be just a personal preference. Cool animations too :)
Did not expect an FMV (if we can call it that), and I am very happy I stumbled upon your game. It's so well exectuted. I love the focus on the mood and atmosphere, it's SO WELL done!
Definitely one of the strongest experiences I have ever played during my 6 years of LD Jamming.
To give you true and comprehensive feedback, I honestly didn't like the gameplay mechanics you implemented. It wasn't really clear, and I think it just made the game a little bit "not game-y". But thanks a lot for providing hints on this page :) it helped a lot. Maybe you could add some more buttons to work with or something, but I understand it hard during a game jam (especially COMPO!).
Overall, really amazing game, I hope you will get at least in the 50 best games in mood category. PS: Even the acting is pretty good!
First of all I would like to welcome you in the Jamming community :)
I'm not sure if you submited this game correctly, because I don't see any ratings available for this game.
First of all, I need to say that this game hit hard close to home. It just feels like taken straight from the 90's strategy games. Graphics, music, vibes. Amazing.
That's why it made me sad, that I couldn't figure out what should I do exactly. I couldn't buy/invest into anything, I clicked and pressed all the buttons I could, but nothing. I was just able to open pages like "Ranchers" but couldn't buy anything, even though I had my reputation for it. Please help, I would really like to try your game one more time and give it a proper rating :)
@hekateras, YES! It's working now perfectly. I think it was probably a problem with Itch.io. This happens sometimes, that the game isn't as response as it should be, when you load it up. So I guess, a simple refresh did the job :)
Anyway, I really like it, and felt like a great experience :)
This was so beautiful. As someone who would die for my loving dog, I felt this game hard. It was a simple gameplay, but a huge emotional journey. Thank you :)
One of the most interesting games I've played during this LD. Reminds me of classic 90's tactical strategies and exploration games. It was very tough, as it should be, so I liked that. Overall, Amazing half graphical and half textual adventure game. It's a little shame it doesn't have any sounds, as it would add a lot to the atmosphere, but considering the fact it was a COMPO, I don't mind at all :)
I didn't expect much, but I was pleasantly surprised. I think it's one of those games that could become a fully flashed game if polished properly, because the idea is amazing. It would be cool to have this like a phone multiplayer. 10 minutes game, where you need to "fight" others to survive as long as you can. Maybe adding some "push" or "bump" mechanics to make it more engaging and make the pigs fight for survival.
But I really liked it.
PS: Special kudos for relaxing music :)
This game is so underrated and should have more players to try! It's a shame it was played only by 20 people!
It's so much fun. I love the idea and the gameplay is absolutely frustrating and FUNNY! I love it.
Extra star for those googly eyes in the main menu :)
It's a classic formula but well executed. Definitely a great entry for a first timer! :) I like the high variety of cars and a nice little details like the water movement on the sides. Really adds up to a good experience.
Guys, huge respect for doing a board game on LD. I've seen a couple in my LD career, but I always admire them.
Unfortunately, I don't have time to play this (or people to play with), I really appreciate creating that video for us :) I've watched it and went through the documents you made, and it's looking really cool. 23 pages of manual is a hell of a work for 48 hours! You are a genius(es).
PS: Love the GOD mechanics :D
Ok, so this is one of those "mus play" ludum dare entries. I wasn't exactly sure what to do, but damn, I just couldn't stop laughing. It's so well done, for whatever that means.
(I hope it was meant to be a funny game! Don't mean to offend you or anything haha.)
I loved the physics. Jumping reminded me a bit of Excite Bike for NES, don't know why haha. Also pretty solid 3D graphics for a JAM! Well done and well executed :)
@eerongal Woaj that was fast, thanks!
@eerongal Haha, no hate, it's up to you how you want to play the game! :)
@mvasko2 You Need to "Right Click" inventory items to read them. Reading TV magazine is crucial for the progress. :)
AND THANKS for your great review!
@mvasko2 I'm gonna be completely honest with you. I tried to remove it, but for some reason, I wasn't able to, and it was a last minute thing, so we had to keep it. I added a note in "How to play" section :) Thanks a lot for your feedback. Much appreciated.
@sirdorius Thank you so much! Well, this kind of theme is a hell if you are trying to make a story driven game, not gonna lie. This was the most optimal solution we came up with. Could have been better, but that's Jamming I guess, haha.
@alex-de-la-cour Thank you Alex, really appreciate your kind words. I liked your game as well :)
@human-writes-code Thank you my friend! Believe me, we really wanted to the player to enjoy the dialogues as much as possible, however we also had to use the theme somehow. We tried to make it in a way so the dialogues are not THAT much affected by the time restriction.
@zakroutil Thank you very much! It was a fun working on such game. We are all fans of atmospheric story games, so working on a noir detective story was a blast.
@dnich013 Thank you! Yes, I have noticed that your comment was a bit... off, but I assumed I was just too stupid to understand your review, haha! Thank you for taking the time to play and review our game. Actually, if you like this game, you may like our other "full time" projects. We are studio called Digital Mosaic Games, we have released mysterious thrilled adventure Metaphobia as currently working on gothic story Castle Dornstein :)
@cdmaniac Thank you! It was really fun to work on this. @kobylaz is a music magician and a talented voice actor!
@bredera Thank you! Really appreciate your review and thanks for playing our game!
@megafuze Thank you, and I'm glad you liked our game! Atmosphere was #1 priority, so I'm happy it worked! And yeah, honestly we didn't really enjoy the time related theme, and this was one of the lesser evils we had to go with to stick to the theme.
@walaber Thanks! Believe me, sometimes I would love to write an intire book when working on these little jams haha. I'm glad it captivated you like this :)
@gousen-pride Thank you, and I'm really happy you liked the game. It can always be better, but in 3 days you just gotta go with what "feels" good at the moment of writing a quick script, haha. Initially we wanted to go a bit deeper, with more characters, and even multiple endings, but you know how it is... Also, I kinda liked our character Claire, to be a bit proud of what she has done, so her confessing was more like bragging and making herself look important and bossy.
@ale Omg, thank you! It's really nice of you saying that. We were quite happy with the results, but it can always be better though :)
@fabula-rasa Thanks, what an honor! I wouldn't compare this to Hollywood movies, but thanks haha. We were definitely inspired by the old classic. Regarding the time mechanic. Well... technically speking, yes, you can run out of time. However, we tried to make it more relaxing for the player and make them want to focus more on dialogues, instead of rush-clicking through everything asap. So, long story short, yes, you can run out of time, but you should be able to finish the game without any real problems.
@hori Thank you for playing our game! I'm really happy you liked it. I'm glad the noir atmosphere had a positive effect on you. That was the plan!
@aristurtle Thank you! Yes, it was voiced by @kobylarz, his wife and me. We really had fun doing that. It can really change the experience. Thanks, I'm glad you liked the dialogue mechanics. We tried to do something that is both short, but complex enough for the player to enjoy the story. So I hope it worked :)
@sipfindel Hello, I am so sorry, we didn't experience any bugs like that. I would assume that maybe all sounds were missing, but only music, that's really strange. Anyway, thanks for playing our game and I'm glad you appreciated that time mechanic. That was exactly the point: "think about your decisions". Sometimes people just click through dialogues as fast as possible.
@kostas-nik Thank you! Yes, old adventure games is actually what we do, haha. I'm glad you liked the aesthetics :)
Apart from cool music, sounds and amazing graphics, I really wasn't sure what to do? No matter what I clicked, where I moved the stuff, it gave me game over. Sorry, this is definitely me being stupid, but I couldn't figure it out, even though I read your instructions
Ok this was definitely more fun than I expected. Cool combination of "team recruit simulator" and "fast paced manager". It was very hard to read all the ideas though haha. But it added to the humor rather than being frustrating. Also, I really liked the little details and funny notes, characters' quirks and so on :)
Quite nice take on the Vampire Survivor genre. Challenging at first, but unlocking new powerups felt really good and powerful later on :)
Cool level design, adequately challenging. Well done animations and sound effects. Was surprised by the music too! :) Very solid entry, Imho this is a textbook Jam game.
First I was like "Ok... this doesn't look so impressive". But after a while I finally understood the point of the game. And it was amazing. Funny, compelling, challenging, well executed. I loved how you could draw that duck! (or more like SHOULDN't! HAHA! Little details is what makes games great, especially in a game jam!
As someone who absolutely loves farming games, I really enjoyed this one. Pretty cool idea, well executed and sweet animations.
This game definitely has a good atmosphere. The gameplay isn't my kind of thing, but still enjoyable :)
The atmosphere is amazing! Spooky, dark, mysterious. Very well done. The light thing was sometimes too flashy, but nothing too concerning. One of the best games I've played so far :)
Very cool game Alex! Love the idea, makes you think and plan ahead. Graphics are amazing as always :)
Not sure if depressing or humorous. Extra points for those awesome Gameboy aesthetics! Well done.
The link required a password. Can't access your Itchio page :(
Not a fan of rhytm games, but I have to say, yours is well executed and the gameplay is smoother than I would expect. Also the audio-visual part is just so well made :)
@oillen Thank you my friend, you can't even imagine how much I appreciate your reviews, EVERY TIME!
I know the "game is too short" is probably the most used sentence in every single of my Jams. I wish I could make it longer, but time is scarse. I use majority of time doing graphics and programming and game design and length is not so well polished.
@rickylee Haha, thanks my friend. Well, unfortunately there wasn't much time for multiple endings. But my initial idea was to make like three. 1) Creature kills them 2) You kill it 3) You kill professor.
@ben-toosey Thank you Ben! Well the trick is to focus on art and make very short game with no gameplay at all hahah.
No seriously, first of all I make Point and click games, which is very easy to make. I also use AGS engine which is also very easy to use. So I save a lot of time on coding which I can invest into making art :)
@alex-de-la-cour Thanks man, appreciate your feedback. Good luck and have fun playing other games as well!
@kuboxxxxx Thank you for your feedback. I'm really happy you liked the game, and yeah, making short games is my curse I guess. I'm not a good programmer, so it takes me a lot of time to code something so I try to keep it short.
By the way, talking about lessons, I happen to run art/pixel art courses. I teach both kids and adults, beginners and intermediate artists. It you are interested just hit me up on my e-mail brocekdavid@gmail.com and we can discuss this further :)
@avi Thanks for playing my game :)
No, I have online courses, with realtime conversation and workflow. It's more like an online class. But designed to help your needs. For example, if you want to learn how to make a top down RPG style graphics, we won't waste time by me explaining to you how to set up side scrolling paralax effect for example.
@phlip45 Thank you for playing the game and thank you for your feedback!
Instead of highlighted cursor I used the word appearing at the bottom of the screen. So it shows you what you are hovering over. But you are right, for better visual response I should have used highlighted cursor as well.
@procrasteroid Haha, yeah it sounds funny, but it is actually what scientists believed back in 18th century. I tried to put it in as a little trivia :) They thought that sperm has already a human being in it, and they just grown in the womb. They didn't know the egg was also required for the baby to grow. Good ol' days eh?
@slush So cool guys! I just checked your game it's freaking awesome! It feels like a full release 90's 3D horror game. It's funny how we both got the same Homunculus aesthetic. Both using the concept for horror pusposes haha. Which is kind of the opposite of the original scientific idea. The "real" Homunculus was usually portrayed as a little human, almost like a child or a doll, a cute little thing haha.
But I guess it feels more on point to think that something created by a human is scary. Like Frankenstein's monster for example.
@bobbo Oh, sorry, I didn't test it properly, because my phone is rather slow, so I didn't know. Thanks anyway for trying, much appreciated!
@animatrix1490 Thank you for your feedback! It's greatly appreciated.
I think this is one of those situations when creator intended something else than user expected.
1) First of all I wanted to make three endings, but actually only one of them were supposed to be related to the alchemy puzzle. So still, there would be just one puzzle... because...
2) ...because the three recipes in the book indicate that the book is actually a lexicon of alchemy knowledge, trying to feel more realistic, rather than just a one-recipe-book. So the other recipes were there to basically divide your attention. To look more into the book like "Hey, there are three recipes...A-ha! It must be this one, because it says potent life, and the professor was talking about a life potency elixir."
So it was something like if you are in college and professor tells you "go to the library and find out how to fix this computer." So you go to the library, you go through bunch of books and chapters until you find the correct information. It's not like there is one book with one page saying "THIS IS HOW YOU FIX THE COMPUTER."
So that was my idea behind it. Now I see that more people had a different understanding of what I intended, so that's why I'm happy for this feedback because it makes me realize that I could have done something better.
Seriously, this is an incredible game on its own, more so if you made this in only 48 hours!
First fall, the atmosphere and sounds effects are just so good. If I didn't it's an LD game, I would think it's some kind of PS1 horror game demo haha. As a huge PS1 fan this was right up my alley. Great entry, in fact one of the best I've played.
I think the only thing that I would change was that VHS effect, it felt a bit too strong, but maybe that's just my bad eyesight.
This is definitely one of the games ever made. Made me genuinely laugh.
Nice and relaxing experience. I see that you opted Graphics out, but I will at least say that it was a great artistic choice for such a game to get this kind of asset pack.
The gameplay is simple, but fun and relaxing and it works well in your game :)
666 points, that's a sign, but I don't know what it means haha!
Gameplay is really more fun than I had expected. Don't know why but it reminds me of classic NES games. Not because of the graphics or sounds, but the gameplay, is just so simple yet so much fun!
Obviously, the graphics are astonishing, one of the best I've seen so far. Sound effects are on point and the audio-visual response to the player is absolutely perfect.
One of my favorites so far!
Hello Jirko :) Great game as always. I really enjoyed the mechanics, it is harder than it seems. Appreciate the hints that pop up after you get stuck a bit longer. Graphics and sounds are amazing as always.
Overall, pretty solid game that feels like a full release, not a COMPO.
I really love the Gameboy vibes and well done graphics. Music and audio fit well into your game (even though I would personally used some 8bit sounds to fit the GB vibes :) ).
The gameplay feels good, I can imagine this being a really good game with some tweaks here and there, but for a Jam entry it is more than enough.
I'm afraid you forgot to share the link guys :)
@skigfx My apologies, I didn't realize it. I assumed that because your game is up in the list, you clicked on "publish" button. But I think the game appears even if it's not published yet right?
My initial thoughts were like "Ok this is another platformer shooter". And I was amazed how well done and polished the game was. Loved the crafting system, I didn't expect this game to be so deep. And absolutely adored the physics and control response mechanics. The shooting recoil and flying around with the jatpack felt so smooth and satisfying.
I think the only thing I would change would be the time between enemy waves. I understand that it's supposed to be noob friendly, but I always had like 40 seconds of just sitting and waiting. But that's just a minor thing.
Overall very well done game, with nice cute graphics and responsive controls.
Such a strong experience! As a huge fan (and dev myself) of adventure games, this was a must-play for me. Very strong story, amazing atmosphere and music, cool gameplay elements (such as wood chopping and fishing), and I really liked the little details like changing music and petting the dog. These little details are what makes these games on another level.
One of the coolest entries I've played, for sure.
Note: I had issues with some of the dialogue windows. It happened to me like three times that either the text was moved to the bottom of the screen, or the dialogue window was completely empty. I think it was just a minor bug and didn't really ruined my gameplay, but I still wanted to let you know about this.
Wow, this is the most polished and fun game I've played so far. If you gave me to play this game and I didn't know it's from LD jam, I would think it's a full release.
The audio visual response is amazing, the gameplay loop is engaging, and had I had more time I would like to play more of this. Graphics are sounds are sweet and charming. I really liked the idea that you basically grow your own bosses haha. I can totally imagine playing this even on my phone. Fun and challenging experience :)
My Noob Score:
SnÃmek obrazovky 2023-01-09 151042.png
This is a REALLY cool game. I can totally imagine playing this on my phone, just chilling on the couch. It feels as a full release. Good job with the physics, movement response, audio visual response is very good too. and the art is just stellar.
I can't stress enough how smooth the gameplay is. Really amazing job guys.
I like the idea, even the execution is quite good, however I couldn't dodge the horizontal attacks. I couldn't jump high enough to dodge them. Maybe I was doing something wrong, but because of this I couldn't win the game.
Other than that, I liked the graphics and the audio. The backstory is cool and I like the humorous tone of the game. Like I said, it's a cool game, only that dodging mechanic was too hard.
Pretty nice little gem! I like the GB aesthetics and how you executed it. The gameplay itself is rather simple, but more than enough for a Ludum Dare entry. As for me, it was a pleasant experience.
This is the first time I'm giving a game 5*. Hell I would even give you 6* if I could for the potato language alone!
Where do I start. The game is absolutely over the top Jam game. Complex world, little details that you cared enough to put in (like when the character starts to have bend back after his son died, like wtf, that's RDR2 kind of detail right there). Item usage is so well done a fun to use. Throwing rocks was so fun.
Absolutely stellar voice acting performance. The combination of absurd and comedy is so on point. World really feels alive (actually feels more dead, but you get my point).
PS: Rest in peace Boyo, I hope you have become a dog somwhere up there in the clouds.
PPS: I'm also hungry for some good ol' stone soup.
Let's start with the obvious - the Graphics are stellar (literally haha). Gameplay seems simple but is actually pretty fun, I enjoyed discovering new cards and figuring out combos. The only downside for me was really just the fact that you can't play vs AI, because currently I don't have my wife around to play with haha. But that's just my personal problem, so it affect my rating.
Overall, pretty solid entry. Sweet music and amazing graphics.
I'm still laughing while writing this review.
This game is the reason why I always play and rate even "not so impressive looking" games. Because you never know what gem you can find. I don't want to say that you game looks bad, NOT AT ALL, but objectively speaking graphics is not the strongest point in this game.
To my surprise I was shocked how detailed and well made the game is. It's entertaining, and most importantly it's freaking funny. Sound effects, music and voice acting is from another planet, absolutely loved it.
I honestly expected to be just one-screen haggling simulator, and was really pleasantly surprised to see other options like beach digging for treasure. Haha, loved that one. BEEP BEEP :)
How is this a Jam game? This feels like a god damn PS1 full release. Atmosphere is absolutely awesome, and you are getting my attention for the graphics alone. Gameplay is rather simple, but feels okay.
Cute little game. I know the assets weren't yours, but still, good choice of graphics. Gameplay is fun, I like the idea of sneaking around not getting caught by cows haha.
Pretty sweet game. I really like the gameplay loop, it is simple but very satisfying. As someone who is afraid of deep water, I felt this game more than others maybe. It was intense, especially with the water sound effects.
Pretty good graphics too! Good job on this entry my friend.
That's a hell of an idea, I love it. Seems like a simple combination, but it works so well. I had a really good time. The AI was pretty well executed, I was really surprised. Maybe the only thing that I would change is the colors of player and enemy. Because I was a bit confused that my colour is red and enemy is green. You know, like usually it's the other way around. But that's really just a minor detail. Other than that I freaking loved it :)
This was WAY more fun that I had expected! The gameplay loop (literally haha), is very simple but so entertaining and it kept me going for a quite a long time. I really love the use of the DVD logo meme, haha it's so original and it fits your game idea so well. Freaking love it.
Maybe the only thing I would change is that it would be great to also have some kind of sprint/dash ability, because sometimes it is impossible to dodge the logo with a simple jump. Alsmo, I'm not sure if I missed the "harvest" theme, or if it's not included. It's ok if you didn't use it, I'm just asking in case I missed something :)
Pretty solid entry!
Pros: Beautiful graphics, fun gameplay, ideal pacing for a LD game, vibrant environments and positive mood
Cons: No sound, a bit clunky movement, especially when turning.
Not sure if that's intended by your rating options are not available.
Hi Alex. What to say? Another amazing entry!
The graphics are obviously stellar, gameplay is imaginative and fun as hell. I love to command the little cute piggy around!
Anyway, overall one hell of a good game, I'm glad you joined this time :)
PS: Is the Cosmic Void an easter egg/reference to our dear pixel art colleague from Twitter? Not sure if you know her.
This is a very well crafted piece! I had a little bit hard time with the controls, but not because they were bad or it had a bad tutorial, but simply because I didn't spend enough time to master it. So the design is great, it just takes longer to learn the craft. Which means it's complex and fun in the long run! I will definitely get back to your game later, and honestly would love to see this game to become a full release with some campaign or something like that.
Loved the audio, the art was amazing the narrator tractor (hehe I made a joke) was cute!
Overall, very polished and fun game. One of the most innovative games I've played so far.
I'm afraid you forgot to share the links my friend :)
I like the combination of Vampire survivors and harvesting crops. This is one of those perfect Ludum Dare games, when the gameplay is not long enough to take much of your time, but fun enough to keep you engaged. Maybe more animations would be cool to see the enemies burst into flames or something, but other than that, pretty sweet game :)
Nice idea for a game, but it was VERY short. It took me really just like 30 seconds haha.
Besides the short level, the gameplay is really smooth and fun. I would appreciate maybe more enemies and stuff, but I liked the throwing of the souls, nice little mechanic. Maybe it would be cool to use those souls as projectiles, or play basketball with them haha. Graphics and animations are amazing. It looks like a full released game.
This is a very pretty entry. It's chill, nothing complicated, just go there, fish your fish. But I love the little details that add to the fun. Like moving the sail and playing with the wind mechanic, it seems like a small thing, but it really adds much more fun to the gameplay. The graphics are definitely one of the best I've seen so far. Again, simple, but well made in its own way. I love the "old map" aesthetic. Good job!
Cool and most importantly challenging game. I liked it, it was simple but fun. I would change only maybe one thing. It would be great to have some kind of indicator or timer of when the weapon will strike. Because this way it was really hard to time my strikes against coming enemies. But that's just me being a noob haha. Overall pretty solid entry guys :) contragulations
I've seen your posts during the weekend and didn't really think much of it. The game seems simple on screenshots, but hell it's challenging and fun! I really enjoyed it. There are basically four levels of gameplay:
- Moving tractor - Moving combine - Aiming combine's crops shooting - Honking away those GOD DAMN PIGS!
So far it is my favorite game :)
My score: It's not much, but it's an honest work.
SnÃmek obrazovky 2023-01-09 114229.png
This was a great game! I didn't expect it to have so many details. Yes, the gameplay was rather simple, but the atmosphere and graphics really made it up for it. What I liked the most was the aesthetics of the Halloween-like graveyard. Cool animations too :) Well done guys.
I love these sandbox LD entries!
Overall I really enjoyed this game. The gameplay is simple, but fun, harvesting your crops felt very satisfying, reminding me of my favorite game Stardew Valley. The 3D graphics are well made. Maybe some audio visual response would be appreciated, but that's not a big deal.
HUGE PLUS for the zoom in and out option, it sounds like a small thing, but to me this kind of details is very appreciated.
I'm sorry I can't run the game :( Maybe some problem with the link?
Error: Failed to read the 'serviceWorker' property from 'Navigator': Service worker is disabled because the context is sandboxed and lacks the 'allow-same-origin' flag.
I freaking loved them wobbly guys haha! From physics to sound effects, this is one hell of a fun game.
I never played Human Fall Flat, but I imagine this is what it feels like. Now thanks to you I may actually consider buying that game haha.
It's really cute and fun, don't know what else to say. I haven't find any negatives. Maybe just a little one, and that is camera. Sometimes it is a bit clunky when trying to move the camera around, but nothing game breaking.
As a fan of oldschool text games I really enjoyed your entry. It was an interesting experience, especially after playing all the farming and action games today haha.
Anyway, I enjoyed it, I really liked the sound effects which added A LOT of atmosphere to a simple text based game. The story was well written and intriguing.
What a cute game. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the pretty 3D night environments. Especially the details like inside of the house, having bed, furniture and a cozy fireplace. These are the kinds of details that make a good experience, at least for me.
The gameplay was rather simple, but simple walking around and collecting things was enough for me to enjoy it. I'm glad you went for a 3D game, as it feels like it adds much more to the mood of the game, in comparison if you did a 2D.
The only downside is the lack of music or sounds. Just some wind and crickets would be enough, to add to the night atmosphere. But overall pretty sweet and nice game :)
SORRY MOM I didn't make it to the Broccoli!
This was more fun than I had expected. The pace was a bit slow, maybe it would be cool to make everything a bit faster like 50%, but that's just a minor detail :)
Overall pretty solid game, I liked the Vampire Survivors mechanics, very entertaining :)
This is very impressive expecially for a COMPO. The driving feels a bit off at first, but you get a handle of it very quicky. I absolutely adore the atmosphere and kind of halloween-y music and vibe. It really give the game an extra spark. I didn't even mind all that open space, it was very good and it gave me an option to drive recklessly and enjoy the physics.
Extra star for the wobbly Pizza on the car rooftop! I really appreciate little details like this.
Very well done in-depth simulator. It's seriously very good! The physics and mechanics are tought but that makes it so much fun. Extra points for that "landing indicator" it really helps you get the sense of your place in the space. Good job my friend!
@vectrex28 A best one? Wow, thank you! I think it is the best one "coding wise", but not as good as some of my typical "moody" games. But I definitely learned new mechanics along the way.
Pitomio was my little easter egg, and a way to detect czech Jammers haha. Thank you for playing my game, I seriously enjoyed yours!
@brandon-campbell Thank you! I think it was because of the extra day of work. I usually work only 48 hours but this time I took all three days to finish it. I just love having unnecessary details in games so I try to add them to my games too :)
PS: Don't worry, Miss Shabadoo isn't alone, she has a lot of... friends to help her with her... loneliness.
@ludumdaredevil THANK YOU! I don't know about winning haha! I'm sorry about the choppy car, it has to do with the lowframe animations, that's solely a technical problem, which I'm not good at. I'm an artist and coding is really not my thing. I'm glad you liked my little side stuff, I love seeing these things in other games, so I try to do them in mine too :)
@jiri-hysek Thank you Jirko! I'm happy you liked the game. I really enjoyed yours too!
@cinterre Thank you for playing my game. Yeah, at the end there is a final message saying something like "All jobs are done, Thanks for playing this game." It was a very fast thing I did before released, it's super unpolished, but it is what it is I guess.
@vhalenn Thank you! :)
@tofucat Thanks! Yeah I know the ending is lackluster, but initially I planned to do the game as an open ended game, where you can grind endlessly, but I was afraid that people will not understand where the game stops. So I did this. It's really bad, but it was at the very end of development and I didn't have time. I learned from this, so next time it's gonna be better!
@paul-avallone Thank you for the feedback. I'm really sorry about the ending, it was a last-second decision and I didn't have time to polish it. It basically work on the variable "if all jobs done => end game". Not good. So the game is more about the journey than about the finish. Thank you for your kind words. I'm actually a point and click developer from Digital Mosaic Games studio. You can check some of our games - Metaphobia, Castle Dornstein (demo), Goblin's Journey (TBA) :)
@aile Thank you so much! I'm seriously happy that you played it with your kids. Originally, I wanted to also include some adult jokes, but after my 4yo daughter enjoyed play testing I realized it's actually a pretty children game haha.
@oddballdave Thanks! I'm glad my "jokes" made you laugh. It should be a very positive-vibe game so hopefully it delivered.
@jim-jagers Thanks, really appreciate these kind words. I'm not much of a gameplay guy, Im an adventure game developer, so it's something hard for me to try anything else on the jam, but this time I wanted to try something more than just dialogues and puzzles. Hopefully next time it's gonna be more exciting!
@python-b5 Hello, thank you for playing my game! I'm really sorry about the bug, I tried to fix it, but there was no time. I still have no idea what caused it. I think it was a combination of movement, key pressing and dialogue trigger, and I couldn't fix it.
It was fun. I like how it feels like some 80's simple arcade game. Not sure if intended but I take it as a positive thing! Music and graphics were cute and the changing of music speed was a great touch!
You games never dissapoint.
I really loved the mechanics, not complicated, but fun. The physics and controls felt super great and satisfying. Level design was good too, sometimes a bit hard, but nothing too bad I think. (I remember some of your older games were much harder haha!).
As for me, one of the most polished games I've played so far.
The driving is super fun, sometimes a bit difficult, but fun. I really love the atmosphere of the little town, it has that cool positive summer vibe. The game overall is VERY WELL polished an well executed. The little green guy is super cute and the audio visual response is well done too.
I added an extra star in my rating after I found out that your game is a Compo not a Jam! Wow, you are a superman!
Hey man, amazing game as always. No need to talk about art, we all know it's amazing.
I love how the promise of the game is simple, but it is very engaging and it reminds me of those early NES games, where the gameplay loop is simple, but we still loved them an play to oblivion! I love your attention to detail, such as shake screens, all kinds of little animations and things like final message telling you how many birds or humans you killed. The devil is in the details and you just know how to do these things :)
First of all I love the idea. Second of all I like the execution and how well the game function. It gives your nice feel of progression and makes you strategize your moves. Graphics and movement is cute, I like how the game feels overall.
The only problem I have is the trajectory drawing, it is a big laggy and sometimes makes weird shapes. But that's just a minor thing that would be normally polished, so I think for a game jam this is really good!
I'm speechless. Not surprised though. Your games are one of the best each LD, and I am always excited to play them.
This game is straight up full release title for NES. Well polished, well executed. Gameplay itself is so much fun, even though it's just one screen. It's very hard (as NES games should be!), but hard in a fun way. Music and graphics are on spot, that's for sure.
Seriously, this is no LD entry, this is a goddamn Nintendo game!
I think this is a textbook good LD entry, simple, yet engaging. It was fun. I would maybe add some features like speed if you get to a certain point to make it more challeneging, but still pretty fun game :)
It was a really funny game. I like the idea, it's a bit different from all the other delivery games and I like it. The mechanics and physics were cool, but what I would appreciate was some kind of indicator when you hit an enemy. Maybe like a flash or "blood", because sometimes I wasn't sure if I even hit them or not. But apart from that, very solid and fun game :)
This is probably the best looking game I've seen so far! Absolutely beautiful and peaceful visuals, relaxing music and gameplay is also very fun. It's simple but fun. I love the exploration aspect of the game, it really felt so good. And I love the subtle backstory provided in the environment itself (post-apo roads and signs), very cool stuff :)
This is an amazing game, well executed, especially for a COMPO entry!
First I thought it would be another typical card game, but then the mechanics were pretty solid. Reminds me of such classics as Slay the Spire. I can totally imagine having some animations too in some post-mortem entry. I really enjoyed the card mechanics and the idea that I can build my own decks. Very cool, definitely one of the best games I've played so far.
Very pretty cute little puzzler. My wife and daughter loved the penguins!
It's very well done, and the graphics are cute and enjoyable. The difficulty is just enough to make it fun.
The art is absolutely adorable. I love the game mechanics especially the tripple jump is so much fun! I think this is actually the first game ever I've played with a tripple jump. You guys are revolutionary haha.
The gameplay isn't too complicated which I think is a good thing for an LD entry. So for me, pretty cool game guys! Good job.
The controls were a bit glitchy, and I ended up stuck in the trees, but it's okay, I will not rate you for that, because I understand it must be pretty hard to make a 3D game like this in a short period of time.
I really loved the atmosphere and art, it's one of the best looking game I've played so far. Absolutely love the lighting and dark vibes. I wish it was more technically polished, but apart from that it was pretty cool! :)
It reminds me the classic arcade games. One button, but still so much fun.
Maybe the music was too "modern" for the aesthetics of the game, but I think that's more like my personal taste, than a bad thing. The grahics were cute, controls were pretty responsive and I really adored that rope mechanic! WEEEEEE.
@kylethecoder No problem, really it was just a thing that I wanted to mention, it didn't take away the cool experience. Shanty would be awesome though!
First I was like "Okay, this is kinda easy.", but then when the challenge began I reconsidered all my opinions on this game! Wow, it was tough and fun! It was kind of hard to get used to the controls, but once I did I had so much fun. It really feels so simple, but it's actually a pretty deep concept.
Very arcade-y I love it! It's so simple but it really keeps you on your toes. I had a really good time, gameplay was smooth and the audio visual response was well done.
I have maybe one thing I would change. I would probably add some punishment for pressing the wrong arrow, because after playing for a while, I figured out, that you can easily exploit the game by literally smashing your keyboard like 10 times randomly, and the baby comes out in 2 seconds. But it's okay, that's not how you should play it, but in case you want to release this on steam or something, I would add the punishment mechanic :)
I'm a simple man, I see "Lovecraftian" I click download.
Seriously now, it exceeded my expectation. The atmosphere was tremendous, the voice acting was seriously professional and the environment was truly lovecraftian. So spooky and weird, out of shape, simply out of this world!
Definitely one of my favorites now!
This game has a really nice graphics and atmosphere. The carribbean vibe is on spot. The only thing that was a bit hard to get into were the controls. It was kind of hard to navigate the ship, but other than that, very pretty and fun game. I loved the shooting mechanic :)
I have to admit, the gameplay isn't exactly my cup of tea, but I still enjoyed it nevertheless! But what I absolutely loved was that Harry Potteresque atmosphere and tone! Absolutely nailed that magical owl vibe.
I love the vibe of this game. The graphics is gorgeous and the town has been designed pretty well. I like how the whole idea sounds so simple, but when you actually play it's really fun. I love that you even made two different modes! These kinds of details are what makes games amazing.
Personal preference: I would like it if you could use the gun as a machine gun instead of "hold to fire". I liked clicking fast and shooting at everyone haha.
I see that some people say that the controls are difficult to handle, but my initial reaction was actually "wow this is fun". So much for controls from me haha!
The idea is very simple and I'm okay with that, expecially when you finished the game in just 20 hours! Good job :)
Graphics are cute and impressive for such a short time too!
Pretty cool entry! I love how the physics and mechanics feel realistic even though the graphics are very retro. Gameplay itself is nothing too crazy, but it's enganing and satisfying.
This was great guys! Such a simple concept, yet so well executed. I loved the little details you provided to the player. For example, the little arrow/gps pointing to the correct house.
Graphics and audio was an absolute blast. Love the positive vibes! As for me, this is a very solid entry indeed.
I like the idea a lot. The games need a little bit more polishing (audio visual feedback mostly), but in general it's really fun to play. I like th maze mechanic, it gives the delivery a special touch and makes the game much more fun. Also the tower defense part is a great addition. I just like the combination of all aspects together. Make it a little bit more polished and you got a pretty good winning game! :)
This was a really good game. I love the setting, the car, the physics, everything! The driving is smooth and killing zombies is really satisfying. like the idea that you are spawned at different places each time, that's a great touch and it makes you want to play the game again and again.
There was couple of instances when I glitches in walls, through zombies, and things like that, but I guess that's normal for a game made in one weekend.
I also got this funny "bug". I think the numbers should be the other way around :)

@baturinsky Thank you for playing our game!
Unfotunately we are not able to make the window bigger, but you should use ALT + ENTER to fullscreen.
I agree with the innnovation, but we really didn't have time for that. We wanted to go with a traditional point and click adventure with a little puzzle in it. I bet our music guy Dan Kobylarz would love to make a game about composing music haha. This was really more about the atmosphere, humor and MEEETTTAAALLL :)
This is SUCH A GOOD concept! Woah so far my favorite game. It is so satisfying to create long combos. From screenshots I thought the game would be quite boring, but in reality is much more fun than it seems :)
I always try to also point out some negative stuff for improvement feedback, but I seriously couldn't find anything. Graphics, absolutely amazing, sound effects and music fit perfectly.
This was an absolute blast! It was so simple yet so much fun. The premise was not complicate but for some reason I just kept going. I could imagine playing something like this on my phone while waiting on a bus. Real fun experience thank you :)
Supert extra bonus point for the voice over tutorial. It sounded like a professional video game tutorial, absolutely loved it. Music was great too and the effects were spot on.
@adam-gould - I would like to contact you personally and ask you a few questions if that's possible. Can you write me an email: brocekdavid@gmail.com
I will delete this comment later to avoid spamming your page :)
That's a great concept! First I was a bit confused, but I got the hang of it quite quickly. The sound effects and easy-to-understand UI made the game idea even more enjoyable :)
This had a atsmophere of a genius design! I absolutely loved it. Honestly speaking, the gameplay wasn't much of a thrill for me, but I didn't really care. I was invested in the darkness and light, I enjoyed walking towards the corners that were not even meant to be accessible hoping to find something haha. It was quite scary and mysterious and I loved it. I'm also quite happy with the no-music take as the footsteps alone give it even more mystery and atmosphere.
This is probably the best looking game I've seen this Jam. The gameplay is not really my kind of thing, but you've seriously done an incredible job guys. Also congratz on the Steam page, that was fast haha!
I think the concept is pretty cool, but maybe a bit hard to navigate. However that's pretty normal for LD entries, especially a 3D game! So don't worry about that :) Graphics are pretty cool and sound effects too, maybe some ambient background music/sound would be great, but again, it's not easy to do everything in one weekend.
PS: My wife was passing by and said "Hey, that looks like that space game you play... No Man Sky!"
So that's pretty cool aint it? :D
First of all the elephant in the room - the art is absolutely astonishing, good job guys. The sound and voice over is a great touch, I really love the music that plays in the background it fits the game perfectly!
The gameplay itself is quite good actually, however I had a problem to survive very long. It's quite difficult. That's probably my personal problem, because I'm a video game noob in general, but I still wanted to give you a feedback on that. For my personal taste I would like to have much less zombie rates coming towards you. Otherwise it's pretty freaking cool game guys. Seriously :)
@sean-esopenko Of course, don't worry about it. It's very hard to balance a game in 48 hours lol
I knew it would be a funny game as always Standu :) The game is really charming, but I felt too bad when my little ones all died in the apocalyptic barrage of asteroids, Im a terrible father.
Music is great, sound effects and graphics, all works well together.
Note: I cheated. Instead of quacking, I was whistling, that way you can produce sound for longer on one breath haha.
The color palette is just beautiful and it fits the dark theme so well. Music is also very on point! I must say though that the gameplay is rather simple, I wasn't sure I understood everything, maybe some subtitles would help understanding what's going on. But other than that, very pretty game :)
"You aren't pervert, are you?" "YES"
Haha I laughed so hard at this. Man, this game is SO good. So simple, but it keeps you going. I really want to talk more and more. It's atmospheric but humorous at the same time. Good job on all fronts: Mood, music, graphics, enjoyable gameplay. I always try to give some negative feedback to make room for improvements, but I couldn't really find anything.
Audio definitely 5/5! The gameplay is rather simple, but it is fun and that's the best combination you can have on Ludum Dare jam. I haven't experienced any problems, it was fun, and I was able to play on my own pace, I appreciate that there were no timers, or "hurry!!!" mechanics. I was able to read everything carefully, and enjoy the game.
Brother, how are you not a professional voice actor?!
First I thought it was just a simple platformer, but I really enjoyed the well designed puzzles! The atmosphere was amazing (as always). My favorite part was summoning Cthulhu haha. The sound design is crazy good. Good job Jirko :)
The art is amazing, no surprise there. This kind of gameplay is not my cup of tea, but I can appreciate a well done game. Maybe it lacked some kind of tutorial (the menu one was confusing haha), because it took me a while to understand everything. But that's probably just my skill issue. Other than that, nice and charming game, congratulations for your first Godot game haha!
When I saw it was typing game I knew I was in for a treat! The graphics and presentation is perfect. Sound desing is amazing and well fitting. Simple but FUN gameplay is what LD entry needs, very well done!
I had just one problem, I couldn't guess this one letter :(
SnÃmek obrazovky 2024-04-15 171734.png
This is really fun little generator haha. I love the fact that you can name your things. The graphics is really charming and the music is kind of comedic, which IMHO fits the gameplay. Pretty game, one of my favorites so far :) Simple but fun.
The game is quite simple but at the same time it is actually pretty engaging and well thought. Im not a huge fan of card games, but I seriously enjoyed the Ninja theme. What I appreciated the most was the difficulty settings (I think Ive never seen that before in an Ludum Dare game). Which is a great touch for player. My only feedback would be maybe the Screen composition to be a bit "smaller". Like the cards are could be smalled and not so stretched around the entire screen. But that is probably just my personal taste, nothing wrong with your version :)
Hello for some reason, I was not able to download the file. So I at least gave you points from the gameplay video if that's okay. First of all, the game is super pretty and the sound design really makes it pop! The gameplay is really interesting and well executed for just a 72 hour project. Good job guys.
Playing as a metal head while dropping that bad ass bassline and summoning skeletons? Count me in!
I love it! Well done. Maybe my only suggestion would be to play some kind of ambient music in the background, so it's not too silent in between your inputs :)
I really like the realxing nature of this game. You are just a cute jellyfish, eating plankton - And everything is fine in your life :)
It's very simple but the music and art makes the experience very sweet. The music and vibe from the environments reminds me of Stardew Valley and Coral Island. Just chillin' and eating. Not every game has to be some Souls like rogue like action packed thrill. Your game is very nice and I thank you for the experience.
Seriously a great game. Didn't even feel like a Jam entry. The gameplay was fun and simple and little sound effects made the experience even better!
I don't even think if I have any criticism, but maybe I wouldnt give animals types like "Common" or "Uncommon" because this makes you kind of prioritize without thinking and just blindly picking the highest option. But that's just a little game design thing. Overall really cool concept and most importantly - FUN!
@patbgames - Thank you! Yeah I always make short games haha. I'm not good with coding so art is pretty much my main focus. I am using AGS (Adventure Game Studio). It is an engine designed specifically for point and click adventure games. For art I'm using Aseprite.
@ramchops-games - Haha thanks, yeah they are pretty friendly... Sorry about the pixel hunt, I didn't realize it until it was too late. Will make sure to consider these little pixels in my future Jams.
@dis0rder - Thanks! I'm sure they accomplished all their dreams. Regarding the bug, yes, Im sorry about that. This bug has been there since the beginning and I, for the love of God, was not able to fix it!!! It really pissed me off, but at the same time I really wanted to include the Bed mechanic haha. The problem was between switching the views of sleeping robot and running robot, and sometimes it just got stuck with the sleeping view. I'm not good with programming so I guess this is my punishment.
@coderaurus Thanks for your feedback!
Hm, that's strange, because there actually is space humming ambience in the background. So now I wonder if the volume is off or maybe it's not able to hear without headphones. Honestly I didnt test it. Were you able to hear all the other sound effects, because there is quite A LOT of them haha.
@dywanix Wow! Thank you. Im sure there are much better games than mine, you just haven't found them yet haha.
@c-5po Thank you. Yeah I guess the ending was really a 50/50, it either makes you laugh or breaks the vibe. I took the risk for the joke :)
@t-c Oh yes, the good old Bed Bug (pun intended). This bug has been happening since the beginning and I was not able to fix it, but at the same time I loved the bed for my little guy so I kept it. Sorry about that.
@missingpixel Thank you, appreciate your feedback :)
It's a simple but a fun game at the same time. And imho that's how all Ludum Dare games should be. Gameplay is smooth and straight to the point, movement and reaction time is great too. Art is very nice, it's just a shame there is no sound. But it's COMPO so I don't even consider this as a negative. Well done.
Okay, this game has no right to be this fun haha. First I didn't really believe it would be entertaining, but from the description, but the actual gameplay really changed my perspective. The concept is so well executed and the gameplay loop is just amazing. Even without the power ups the game is fun, but with them it's way more thrilling, great addition.
Overall very fun game, and it surprised me how challenging it was at times!
Ahoj Jirko! I f*cking love your ideas haha. This is SO good. I can totally see this as a full game idea. It's challenging, it's fun, but it's easy to understand. Haven't experienced any bugs, and the gameplay is smooth as always. Art is amazing and sound effects are great.
Strong Lemmings vibes haha! Love it, it's cute, it's fun. First levels are very easy and I was like "okay...", but then it started to be really challenging and I got hooked. VERY fun experience.
This guy is fun, but not gonna lie, IT'S HARD! I think it's more of a skill issue from my end, but still wanted to give you this as feedback. I really like the concept, and I can totally imagine playing this on my phone while waiting on a bus or something. Cute, simple and fun. As a Jam game should be.
What a beautiful cute game. Concept is quite simple, but in a good way. I like the mechanics where you switch between little critters (froggy is my favorite! I love a good high jump). Special kudos for all the UI and settings available, I was surprised how you paid attention to little things like changing graphics or music, that made me feel like playing an actual released game not just a Jam entry. Well done guys :)
Yep, sorry the Itch isn't working.
I like the idea and the design is REALLY GOOD, honestly. But I understand it is hard to finish something like this in 2 days, so no hate for that. It's a compo so natually not easy to do from scratch :)
Even though I experienced a few bugs, like walking into walls, and Im not sure if me clicking/building walls was part of the gameplay or it was left by you for testing purposes, but it was still fun.
The soldiers were fighting really well, and that mechanic worked good. I think the only problem I encountered was that miners didn't really mine, they were just walking into my character.
Don't worry my friend, it's still a great game for a jam!
@lintfordpickle Don't worry about that! And exactly like you said, it's about the process and learning new things. There is nothing to win, it's just about the experience :)
Pretty great entry for the first Jam! It was simple, but fun, quite challenging too. I'm such a noob and I couldn't reach the harbor :( . But I like the concept, and graphics are well done. Sound design is also fitting.
It reminds me the good old NES games :)
@foolishfool Thank you!
@airgameboys Thank you! Yes, this is basically a typical oldschool point and click adventure game, so Im glad it gave you the right vibes.
@sqqqwer Thank you, Im glad you enjoyed it!
@xpoho Wow, thank you, that means a lot really! Yes, I'm a huge fan of old LucasArt and Sierra games, so my inspiration is probably too obvious there :) PS: You chickened out from the "better" ending :P haha
@psychomonster Thank you so much, and thank you for coming and enganing in my stream too. I'm glad you enjoyed it, even though you probably seen all the spoilers on the stream haha.
@jiri-hysek Thanks Jirko, I'm glad you liked it. I enjoyed your game a lot too.
@trabasura Thank you, I appreciate your compliment, but to be honest, the engine I use (adventure game studio), is super simple to use, so it helps me to focus more or story telling, graphics and mood. Most people here probably need like 70% of time for coding, not me. So that's why it's quite easy for me to do these games :)
@oadt @mcramon @ssiannas @immortalfox @metaksonio @yanzhi @cinar @doppler-affect @pigeon-dp @kluvenlaroplan @pe4q07 @dywanix @sofia-miglan THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR PLAYING MY LITTLE GAME! I truly appreciate the feedback <3
@nyxkn @oxnh Thank you for the feedback! Oh, yes, I agree, the writing wasn't very good. I always have a hard time to get the stories, including well written pace into 5 minutes Jam game. I ALWAYS fail. It's so hard haha. I basically tried to make two endings so it's at least a little bit impactful, but yeah I was running out of time, so I just did it quite abruptly.
@leorean Thank you! I truly enjoyed your Dyamid game! Beautiful and fun to play.
@texugo, Hello I'm sorry for this inconvenience.
At the beginning you need to click on the switch, then you will be able to click on the sparkling wires, then you will be able to click on the computer, there you shoud see all the information needed to continue. After that click on the "navigation computer" (the one with chair), and proceed :)
@nnmbzr Haha finally someone got the reference! Honestly I expected the name reference to be too obvious and boring, but then I realized there probably isn't as many niche Sierra fans as I thought it would be.
Anyway, thank you very much for playing the game and for the lovely feedback. Yeah the lack of puzzles is quite bad for me on these Ludum Dare entries in general. That's why I focus more on story and atmosphere.
Thank you for your interest, but I don't think I will continue this game. I already work on a big adventure games project, so Ludum Dare is really the only time I have for some fun silly side projects.
If you are interested, check out our Steam page: Castle Dornstein. There is a demo available, quite old demo, but it's something :)
This actually really fun. I kinda wish this was a game on Android, I can totally imagine playing this :) The mechanics are simple yet fun, and graphics are very nice.
This is probably the most polished and beautiful game I've played this event. Graphics and sound is absolutely stellar, the gameplay is quite simple, but fun, and with all the mood and atmosphere, I didn't really care about the gameplay much. I simply wanted to chill in the water and on the boat. The little details are crazy, like little animations, changing clothes animations, moon animation, environment animations, and DRIVING THE ACTUAL BOAT!
Like comon guys, this isn't a Jam game, this is straight up fully flashed game. Well done. I'm sure you will be in the top 25 :)
The idea and execution for this game is really great. The girl in the wheelchair is a very charming character and stands out, good job. The audio is really well done, simple NES like music, fitting the game. I just wish I didn't suck so bad at these games haha. I died way too many times, and I admit, I didn't manage to finish the entire game.
Hello Jirko, As always, your game has an amazing mood, sound effect and overall design. The gameplay loop is simple, but addictive. Going back and forth between digging and defending your submarine is more fun than it seems from the description/screenshots. The little upgrades feel impactful and imho this is worth making into a full game. Maybe on phone as well.
I don't really have any negatives to be honest.
Such a simple concept, yet so much fun. I really like the level desing. Especially the real-dev thinking like adding the "death example" at the very beginniing when the player goes to the left, saying "Hey player, this is the limit.".
The music is soothing, art is charming, the gameplay itself is challenging just enough to be fun but not tedious. Checkpoints are well spread so you don't ragequit. One of the mest optimized games I've played so far. Well done :)
This game is super interesting. Alas for me personally very challenging. I have an issue to coordinate myself in such space, and I get easily lost. Again this is just MY PERSONAL problem, so I will not rate subjectively, but rather objectively. I really like the idea and execution, the game is fun and I like the original idea for such puzzle, I've never seen this before. The music adds nice mood and graphics are simple yet charming :)
Overall great entry, I just wish I was better at these kinds of games to enjoy it more.
Okay, this is hands down best designed game I've played this event. From level design, graphics and audio, all perfect. I'm not much into puzzle games, but this one is captivating. My favorite part was walking through the sides of the screen to reach the other end. Very fun idea and VERY WELL executed :).
It doesn't even feel like a jam entry, but as a fully flashed game.
I can totally imagine this being a fully released game. Maybe as a phone game it feels like a good few-minutes-of-fun kind of game.
I really like idea for such a simple game to go in 3D space. It was quite challenging but the great execution made the game fun. I had only one issue, which was with the camera, maybe it was just me being stupid, but I wasn't able to move it much in the 3D space, I was basically just able to only zoom in and out and change an angle.
But overall really fun game! :)
This is truly fun idea for a Jam game. It reminds me those old Newgrounds web browser games in like 2005 haha.
The art is amazing, the music is even better, and the game is weirdly addictive, yet so simple.
Side note, maybe it would be more fitting if you had to hide the pizza not to get destroyed, instead of using it as a shield? I mean your idea is GREAT, just something I was thinking about while playing :) Great entry guys.
The game is so much fun, for such a simple concept haha. It's quite difficult, not gonna lie, but I think it's more of problem on my end.
The graphics are very pretty and charming and I really enjoyed the physics of movement. Maybe sometimes it's a bit annoying when you get too close to a wall and you must jump back because you can't lean to the side where the wall is. But again, this is most likely just me being a noob.
Overall pretty solid entry!
Itchio link doesn't work. Maybe you forgot to turn it "public"? :)
It's a pretty cool and fun platformer with beautiful visuals and energetic music. I really love the background story that you are fixing a giant robot, it gives the game such a cute, almost Anime-like charm...? I don't know how to explain it haha.
Anyway the game is great, controls and physics are great too. Maybe the only thing that I would do differently is that I would add more checkpoints, because the backtracking feels too much. But I'm a HUGE platformer noob, so I was dying a lot haha. So take my words with the grain of salt :)
I really like the concept of this "going almost blind" kind of feel. The atmosphere is absolutely amazing. The retro visuals with the deep-water sound effects, are just great. I finished the game in just about 2 minutes, but that's totally fine for a jam game! Well done :)
As an adventure game dev myself, I really enjoyed this moody story. It was simple, but impactful.
However, when I hit the last part - 100% - the screen went black. I don't know if that was on purpose, like some hidden meaning, that the old man died, or something like that :)
Audio and graphics are also great, I really enjoyed the subtle animations. Truly felt like reading a comic book almost.
Frogs are my favorite animals, I was excited for this to play. Please let me know when it's up! :)
This is way more fun that it has right to be! It's basically an endless "tower jump" but backwards haha. And honestly I think this one is better and more challenging. Such a simple concept yet so much fun. Well done, this is a textbook Ludum Dare game :)
PS: I really enjoyed the little "thoughts" of text on the way down, it gave it such a cool charm and gave the character life :)
This is really well executed! The art is amazing, music, movement is PERFECT. It really feels like a SNES game. Is it just me, or you don't have ratings open? But anyway, The game is great.
PS: Not sure if it is a feature or not, but the enemies are not moving at all.
@indigowolf Thank you!
@sinusquell Thank you, Im happy you liked it!
@jiri-hysek Ahoj Jirko, thank you for playing! Yeah, I had less time than usual, but I guess I managed, but the game is super short, and also it has only one screen. Which saved me hours of drawing :)
@threeli Haha, yeah, I'm an oldschool adventure freak! Glad you like these games as well. I wish I had more time to make the story more complex.
@rise12600 Thank you! Ironically, me being an adventure game fan, I have never liked Thimbleweed Park haha. But yeah, I would say my game is a very typical 90's-esque adventure game.
@kamilah Thank you! Glad you liked it.
@azahara Thank you for playing! The music is amazing thanks to my main man Daniel Kobylarz, he is a professional musician and he helps me almost every LD event. I love him to death, both for him being my friend and for his beautiful music! Yeah, sorry about the worm, my wife said the same when testing the game, but I really didn't know how else make it more visible. I tried to animate it to make it easier to catch your eye. Thank you for the feedback!
@ludumdaredevil Hi, thank you so much for your feedback and I'm glad you liked the game! As mentioned in my previous comment - Sorry about the worm, my wife said the same when testing the game, but I really didn't know how else make it more visible. I tried to animate it to make it easier to catch your eye.
@jin9310 Ahoj Jindro! Thanks a lot for playing the game. Yeah I wish I had more time to have multiple scenes, I would LOVE to add something like graveyard church or mausoleum. Maybe next time :)
@ira-baciu Thank you for playing! Wow, it actually worked haha. I ticked the mobile option while exporting the game, but I didn't actually test it. Im so happy it works then. Thank you so much for feedback and for doing the testing for me haha.
Okay, this is more fun than it looks. And it is also surprisingly challenging. The old wizard moves quite fast in early levels. But that's probably just because I'm a noob haha. Also extra points for the audio haha. The dead "meow" always got me!
Jirko, as always your puzzle designs are unmatched! This is absolutely brilliant and I suggest you finish this into a full game, because it's very very cool. If you won't get into at least top 25, it's not fair!
It reminds me of the game Opus Magnum. I know it's completely different, but the puzzles, the sound and the entire vibe is very reminiscent of this cool puzzle game.
Seriously, one of the best games I've seen on Ludum Dare.
Hi Jindro, this is a very cool concept for Ludum Jam, short, fast, repeatable. Perfect combination. It is VERY hard though for my taste, but I'm a noob for these kind of games in general, so I will not rate the difficulty itself. The design is very good, the movement is smooth and responsive. The upgrades are a fun addition. Graphics and music are AMAZING.
As I said I will not rate the difficulty, but in my subjective opinion, I would be happier if there were more chips to collect, because I think my top score was something like 120 and it was only because I had an upgrade "ADD 100 points" hahaha.
I'm seriously curious how some guy was able to push 2048 points!!!???? And you had 953, like what?
This is SUCH A GOOD game that looks simple but is actually fun. First I thought this was gonna be some mindless clicking on pictures, but then each leved had a different challenge, and not just different in a way that you catch different Ludumon each time, but also the whole level design changed and felt fresh. Very surprising entry and I am glad I tried it. I really like the relaxing nature of this game. Very well done!
The graphics and audio are absolutely stellar as well.
Maybe just one thing... You can kinda easily cheese the game by chaotically clicking on everything, and the game will just pick the corrent creatures. So maybe if you punish the player for picking the wrong creature, it will make them more focused.
It's a cute little game, I really like the design, but maybe more instructions would help. But I understand it is random, so maybe I just had more confusing run :) Anyway, very nice entry!
This is such a simple concept, but thanks to the atmosphere, graphics, audio, backstory and overall mood, the game is definitely one of my favorite so far! It is quite easy, but as I said my most favorite part of this game is the atmosphere so I would probably enjoy it even if it was a walking simulator haha. Graveyard in Victorian times??? COUNT ME IN!
This game is so charming, love the creature design so much! The premise is quite simple, but I think it is perfect for a game jam. The only thing that is missing is some ambient sound, not even music is required, maybe just some wind or anything really :) .
Overall pretty cool memory game. I like it. Especially the effects haha.
Dislaimer: BEWARE HEADPHONE USERS FOR INTENSE SNIFFING!!!!!!! HAHAHA
It was more of a journey than a game, but it didn't make it less enjoyable. I loved the humor and the idea. It was more like a "Stand Up Text Comedy" show. Great job Stanov :)
Simple And Fun! Loved the art, oh baby, it was terrific! I believe you do this for living. This is another level of graphics :-) Definitely doesn't look like a game made in 48 Hours.
Really nice game. I like the idea and execution :)
If you won't be in the first 25 in the graphics ratings, then I don't know who else should. Such a beautiful game, nice dialogs and overall feeling :)
As a Lovecraft maniac, I really loved your entry. The mood is very well made and gameplay itself is enjoyable. I don't like race games at all but put Lovecraft in the title and I'll play the hell out of it. Good job :)
I don't know how you did it, but the mood of the game was tremendous. So cute, yet so scary. Passing by those eyes was so horrifying, when I couldn't see them. Well done. This is one of the best games I've played this LD.
This was really hard, but so much fun. Them graphics are so cute and dialogs funny as hell. It got a bit frustrating in some parts, but overall one of my favourites :)
Really interesting idea and original way to use the theme. Simple, but fun, and that's how it should be :)
This is one of those LD entries that you already know they will be on of the winners. Excellent game, fun and professional-like gameplay and graphics. Something you don't expect to see very often. I haven't found any bug or anything. Also the music was really good and well fitting.
This, my friend, was SO MUCH FUN! Original and enjoyable gameplay. First I was like, this is too easy, but when snakes and spikes came in, I was like "NOPE!". This is one of those games, I'll save for later because I definitely wanna play it again :)
Wohooo. What a challenge! I literally stepped on every obstacle you have put to the game, haha. Well made, I loved the soundtrack, so cool end retro. I might have enjoyed the game even more if I weren't a noob!
LoL! What an idea. So funny and original. I love the humor and overall mood of the game :-)
@vilix64 Hello, Thank you very much for playing my game. I'm using AGS (Adventure Game Studio). It's really easy for creating adventure games. If you are interested I can really recommend :)
@joqlepecheur Hello, thanks a lot for playing Cartenstein. I wanted to implement card fights since the very beginning, but then I realized, it was rather impossible (for me) to code. The main concept was to collect them, and playing them was just an option to have more fun. Maybe I'll implement playing them later in post-release. :)
@spelos Haha, thanks for an awesome review. Well, Hemlock is a well behaved gentleman, he can't read that stuff! I'm glad you liked it :-)
@Bentekiller Hi, thanks for playing my game. Thank you for your note, I will have to fix it :-)
@NoahRo Thanks for playing my game, I'm glad you liked it. The rhymes were rather basic, but I still wanted to use them for the sake of mysterious mood. Now I will spoil the note hint for you:
!!!! SPOILER ALERT !!!!!
Those colours represent the colours of the books. Hence, "Red (book), blue (book)... one of them gives you a hint." It's basically saying that if you check out the library it will help you with the puzzles :)
@DUUUUDE Thanks for the review. That's ONE OF THE MANY REASONS why I recommend to play it in the window (so you can X the window). I forgot to implement a quit button, and I don't want to make any changes until the competition ends. I'm huge anti-fan of "Post-uploads" during LD.
@Devastus @TBaudon Thank a lot for the reviews, guys, I really appreciate it. I know it is a shame that I couldnt implement the fighting, but the only reason it's missing is simply technical and practical. Of course it was planned from the very beginning :-)
Very well made game, I like the idea, and the music combined with environment made excellent mood. Only thing that I had a bit problem were the controls, but that was most likely because I played it on my laptop (touchpad) :)
Simple but fun. Well made and the idea is really cool and original. I loved the cute hamst...cough... I mean guinea pig :)
Cute little game, simple, but fun. What I enjoyed the most were the graphics and well fitting sounds. Even though it was so small, it still felt like a full game. The only thing I kinda didn't like was switching items problem, when I sometimes had to run there and back to put glass somewhere because I couldn't pick up a coin. Overall great entry.
4,5/5 from me, my friend. This is a textbook LD high quality entry. Simple, but fun. I'm not a fan of rhytm games at all, but this one was realy nice. The artyle is outstanding :)
I love the original idea. It's so cool and fun. The action with the strategy, and collecting cards. You are magicians! :) One of the best games I've played so far.
5/5 Innovation from me! I loved it! It was such fun and interesting. Something I've never played before. I wish there would be a full time game of this, with hundreds of levels, because I would play this thing all day long. One of my definitive favourites this LD! :)
I like the idea and execution. It's really satisfying to roll over them skeletons! Good job :)
The graphics, the gameplay, the execution! Awesome! This is the kind of game I would love to install on my phone :) Good job, my friend.
Gameplay was smooth (but not perfect) and overall great experience. It really felt like race + skateboard simulator to me. Well made.
I have same problem as others around here. I cannot jump properly to even jump on the first platform. This game looks so great, I wish I could play it. I will give you points at least for the graphics, because I really love them :)
WoW! This was fantastic! Pros: Awesome music and sounds; Idea; Fun gameplay Cons: Turn combos could be played faster so it would make the music flow smoother. Now it sounds a bit unsatisfying when you play all those awesome songs :)
I can already see this game among the best 100. The art is unbelievably professional, the gameplay and idea itself is really great. It was simple but really fun game. I gotta try multiplayer with my mates.
This thing is hilarious! The music, the art, the gameplay! Man, I love it. It looks like full time game, not a LD entry. Well done.
This is the creative stuff I love. So original and fun. One of the best entries I've seen :-)
It's so hard for me to concentrate on everything. I either missed conversation or crashed listening to the people. Really cool idea and well made too. I liked the funny talking.
Fun and well made. What I love the most are the 80's scifi looking graphics :)
Well... that was kinda terrifying. Even though I had been only pressing W, I was so thrilled what was about to happen. The sounds and athmosphere were real enough for me! Well done, my friend. You managed to make "no effort" gameplay mechanics into a thrilling game as a whole.
Interesting idea, the graphics are really beautiful, and gameplay is rather smooth. Not my cup of tea, but still enjoyable entry.
Simple but fun. It's not the most original, but it sure is well executed and gameplay is smooth. Cute little graphics made the experience even more enjoyable. Good job.
Well, that's something you don't see very often. Haha, awesome idea and original mix of themes :)
Even though it was kinda repetitive, I really liked the mood and music of the game and it was a pleasant experience :) It sure wasnt easy, because Jang got driven over many times, haha.
Really well done, and nice matching these two genres together. I love crush games and this is something I've always wanted to try. It was kinda challenging to find the colours, but it's probably just me being blind, haha. Good job.
One of the most original concepts I've seen So far! So cool and Fun. Great job.
This is really incredible idea. It's one of those games worth playing outside of LD :-) Liked the music and the idea itself.
I really respect your decision to make a text game, since it is not very popular nowadays, yet I believe there are still fans of this genre among LD competitors. The idea is really awesome, strategy and text based game. I wouldn't have thought of that at all.
Wow, this was really fun. I liked the zombie horde. Although it was kinda difficult. Clever idea and well executed.
This was really fun! I didn't use headphones, but I was still able to distinguish the sounds with stereo speakers. As a meme addict, I really love the idea, haha. This game is a blast! :)
This was really something else... At one point I literally jumped in my seat. Wow, you got me there. Honestly, I didn't expect to turn it this way. Probably the most "pro" game I've played so far :)
I appreciate the idea. It is a nice game, but imho the field is too big and it is really hard to even move somewhere. If you made the field smaller, it sure would be a lot of fun. Idea great, mechanics great, graphics good enough, just the scale doesn't make it as good as it might have been.
It's So cute! I Hope you get high rankings in graphics, because your game is a visual masterpiece. Gameplay is also very smooth and overall fun to play :-)
Very nice game. I loved the music and the mood overall :)
Lol, this was really fun. Nice cute graphics and haiti music made it even more enjoyable. I really like the concept and execution. One con: I would change the gray background to more happy colour :)
LOL! It was such fun. I had to give you 5 for the audio, because it cracked me up everytime I hit the goal. Lovely and funny game.
It sure was fun and well made. Pictures were very cute and the idea was clever. I just wish we were more than 2 of us to enjoy this game. It all worked properly without any bugs or problems. The only thing I would add is an option to see pictures DURING the voting phase, because when I was drawing I really didn't pay attention to my GF's picture, so I really didn't even know if I should vote for me or her, haha.
Very smooth gameplay, thanks to the unreal engine, I presume. The idea is rather simple, but with cute graphics and nice music it makes a beautiful experience. I just sometimes didn't know where it was ok to jump down and where it was a dead pit.
It sure was a nice idea. Rather challenging. The only downside to me were controls and physics. But overall, nice game.
This was incredibly clever and funny! The combination makes it almost like a South Parkish/Over the top kind of humor. Totally loved it. Sometimes it was creepy looking at that smiley car face, because I knew it really loved me. I'm not Carophobic, I just don't fancy bois with wheels, that's all :)
Nice little game. Kinda challenging to be honest. It was really hard for me to keep an eye on the needs and the "gems" in the same time. But I'm also a noob, so... It was fun though. There are just two details I would change: 1) Some kind of animation of the gems would be nice for better coordination during the gameplay. 2) Music or at least some sound effects would come a long way :)
Very challenging but also enjoyable when you get used to the gameplay. I couldn't get far, but that's probably just because I'm noob.
Suprisingly very enjoyable. Graphics were incredible, and gameplay was challenging too. It actually took me like 4 tries to beat even the first guy, haha. The stamina management is not easy, that's why I liked it.
Simple but fun. The atmosphere is really cool. The only thing I would change was the background, to it is more obvious that you drive on a road, instead of in the sky :)
The idea is great, I would just appreciate bigger challenge. I had could easily just stay in one place and shoot around with my touchpad. But if there were more and harder enemies, it would be hell of a fun!
Too bad there isn't a frustration category because you would have received 6/5! Haha! In a good way of course, but it was really hard. I loved the mood and music of the game and the graphics were nearly perfect. Maybe it was just me, but it seemed like the synchronisation between the button pressing and the yellow circles were a bit lagged.
That was fantastic! The artstyle was incredible, the music and mood were well made. One of my favourites, really. Really beautiful and peaceful game. I have only one thing. It got a bit annoying to always move both characters the whole way to a desired place, but I believe it's just a minor unconvenience :)
Rather challenging, but fun nevertheless. Like the execution and artstyle :-)
Challenging, so that means fun. Loved the idea and most of all love the original title.
I'm afraid you forgot to share the link :). I'm looking forward to play it. Looks cool, and sounds amazing.
@lazarche Oh, Im sorry! I thought it was released, because I found it in game entries. I'll wait :)
Too bad you don't apply for graphics, because it looks great. It kinda reminds me Salad FIngers, don't know why. All and all a pretty decent entry :)
5/5 for mood. The athmosphere of the game was incredibly well done. Gameplay was also funny, and I even got spooked once when a werewolf jumped on me. Luckily I had my weapon ready. Really nice game.
Great example of how minimalistic graphics work perfectly if you know how to use them. Gameplay was very smooth and enjoyable. The concept itself isn't so surprising, but the execution made it look original and really great.
Very interesting concept. I loved the gameplay and the design overall. I was surprised when I became 3D all of the sudden. It was a nice change.
Interesting concept and something I've never seen before. Love the execution and the flow.
Gameplay smooth and fun, yet very easy at the beginning. I started to fully enjoy when I had to press two spells on every obstacle. What I loved the most were the graphics. So simple, yet beautiful.
@jamesgames1000 Thank you!
@pfeyffer Thank you, glad you liked it!
@kanity Thank you for your comprehensive review! I really appreciate it. I'm glad you enjoyed the game. And thanks for all the feedback, I will make sure I fix it later. Regarding my voice, that's just my terrible boring voice haha. I AM speaking loudly haha. I guess my vocal cords are just so weird. Feel free to try my other games, I feel like I'm making the same kind of "vibe" so if you liked this one, the others are even less original haha.
@bereg Thank you! Yes, I think I make every Jam "Lovecraftian" haha. Maybe I should finally move on... NOT!
@maxence-delacroix Thank you, appreciate your kind words. Yeah it was fun, I always try to do something fun and this time I felt like voice acting haha.
@bigfatgua Thank you, really appreciate it!
@wouter52 Hi thank you for your feedback! I had some voiced but it was usually when working with my friends. This was my first voiced solo game. And yeah, I had a bit different idea to use the signal, but I didn't manage to do it, so that's why it feels a bit lacking there. Well I've never been too good in using the themes haha.
@alex-de-la-cour Hi Alex, thank you! Appreciate this coming from you :)
@lereveur Thank you for your feedback! Yeah, my scene objects are often messy during Ludum Dare haha. It's all about calculating pixels and we all know AINT NOBODY GOT TIME FOR DAT!
@zhr Thank you! Another Lighthouse enjoyer! Yes, there is definitely something dark and mysterious about lighthouses. The old building atmosphere, the remoteness and loneliness of these places. It's almost like little haunted castles. Just perfect for storytelling. I originally used a different greenish color palette to give it more lovecraftian vibe, but for some reason the colors felt off, maybe I used wrong colors... but anyway I changed it to this dusk-esque atmosphere instead :)
@indiepanda Thank you! As a P&C developer it's always great to see this genre still has fans!
@hiretsu Thank you, I'm glad you liked it!
@tomssuli Thank you! I'm glad you liked it. I also played your Lighhouse game, we are lighouse bros/sis! Haha. I guess lovecraft and lighthouses are just a perfect match.
@muraena Thank you for the feedback! Glad you liked it :)
@luminella Thank you!
@luka420 Thank you, appreciate the feedback :)
The DE inspiration is more than obvious and that is a good thing in my books! The atmosphere and writing is absolutely unmatched. I'm sure this game will end up in top 10 moodiest game this Ludum Dare. I truly enjoyed this masterpiece. You are very talented team, and I'm sure you will be able to do big things together :)
Hi Adam, long time no see! I hope you are doing well. I really enjoyed your game. The gameplay is very nicely executed and works perfectly for the theme and for a scope for a Ludum Dare entry. I don't usually like minimalistic graphics, but this one just fits well! The puzzles are just well balanced, not too easy, not too difficult. And of course, the audio is just amazing. The music is great, maybe too loud for my taste, but that's about the negatives. The voice over is just on spot, your soothing voice fits the narration so well. Well done mate!
Ahoj Jirko, As usual your game design is unmatched! It's so much fun and the audio visual feedback is just brilliant. The game is fun, it's easily to understand (but hard to master!), and the overall aesthetic is great. I love the perfect rhytm of the whole experience. This is definitely gonna be in top #25!
Hello fellow Lighthouse enjoyers! The game is very cool and in my opinion a great style for a game jam - simple, quick and fun. I first thought it's going to be a bit boring but it is surprisingly engaging. Maybe if you play for too long it gets a bit stale, but nevertheless I enjoyed it. The sound, especially the voices are great. I see out opted out audio, so I assume it's some stock audio, but it's okay, I still love it and I'm glad you chose it! The graphics is also very nice and the overall mood is rather cozy (considering the fact that you are getting raided haha).
Keep it up!
The atmosphere is this game is really cool, I love the art, the voice acting and music! The gameplay is fun as well, and I love how smooth all plays out. The water animation is very nice, good job! :)
Definitely one of the best games I've played so far! The game is really fun, the gameloop is really enjoyable and the mechanics and movement are very smooth. The game is very well executed, the physics are great, the buttons are responsive and it really doesn't feel like a jam game but a very polished one! It gives me this 2004-ish/PS2 3D game vibe. Both by gameplay, art and the sound... maaaan that sound totally took me back. Not sure if intentional, but that worked for me. I gave you a high score for mood for sure!
Me: "This is gonna be easy, I mean how hard is it to just press both WASD and Arrows?"
Also Me 10 minutes later: "Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!"
Seriously now, this game has no right to be this fun and challenging. I love it, I love the SKI vibe from the classic game, and the smooth gameplay. It was pretty hard, but the concept is really cool!
The gameplay is very smooth, I like the audio visual response, it's really high quality. The movement and combat is just perfect. The graphics are amazing, but there is no doubt in that, I've been following your art for years, Alex :) I don't think I have any negatives, maybe just that the walljumping was sometimes a bit glitchy, as if the collision was hunting pixels to hold onto, not sure, but that is understandable for a JAM game, so I didn't take that in consideration :) Overall amazing game.
This is definitely one of the most unique games I have played in my long Ludum Dare career. Super artistic, I really love it. The gameplay itself it quite simple, but the writing, poems, and THE SOUND AND MUSIC AND VOICE ACTING are just brilliant! It truly felt like being in a dream itself, the echoing voice, the ominous music (and my favorite Kazooie!). I really enjoyed this. You are very talented, keep up the good work. And thank you for this unique experience, a nice break from all the platformers and shooters :)
"Run Dream" - I loved this little detail so much!!!
SnÃmek obrazovky 2026-04-22 115531.png
I had maybe just one technical issue. I know you mentioned that the screen is 800x600 by choice, which is good in my oldschool books! However, the cropping in the browser seems to be a bit off anyway.
SnÃmek obrazovky 2026-04-22 115553.png
Very impressive and original idea. The execution is very well done. I think the strongest point of this game is the atmosphere, art and the believability of the worldbuilding. It is seriously so well done. And maaan, that music is so right my alley. That Bladerunner-esque synth... LOVE IT!
Hi guys, I'm sorry but I can see only black screen and music :( What a shame, the music is absolutely AMAZING!!!
@zhr Yes it worked! thank you! The game is amazing, I love the atmosphere, music and the art. The gameplay is quite simple, but it is made up by everything else, fun writing, witty comments, funny notes, etc. I'm really glad I hwas able to play this. PS: I want that music as my ringtone!!!
Very atmospheric and fun game. I really love the art. The gameplay is rather simplistic, but that doesn't take away from this game to be enjoyed. The movement is very smooth and the music is amazing.
