Nice use of lighting effects, something that works well in deep water zones. Didn't feel much danger due to no health/consequence of hitting things (that I saw). Liked the sonar mechanic very much.

Super fun to play. Very pretty. Simple sounds and good background music make it engaging. Took one run to figure out how the game mechanics work (Never played Mr. Driller) but that acted as a self creating tutorial. Excellent work!
Good simple sounds, nice music, good controls. No timer plus knowing there's a 30 second limit makes it a bit intense, but that's all part of the fun.
Easy to pick up and learn. There appears to be a story. Gotta use mad skills to unlock all those secrets. Great use of visuals and simple sounds make it peaceful.
A great idea and I love the artwork. I felt a bit overwhelmed by the number of monsters outside and lack of ammunition. With a bit of balance it would work very well. Wonderfully atmospheric and enjoyable.
Very simple and cute. As I descended I realized it was getting darker and that I was progressing which made me want to keep going until the end. Easy to complete and makes you feel accomplished. Great work.
Interesting concept. The mixed controls made it a bit confusing, but only so much as to make it more challenging. I did have a harder time activating the doors on lower floors (5-7) but otherwise very well designed.
"Yah! I'm a delivery boy!" The whole time... all I could think. Played until I got the rocket jammed twixt some rocks. Irony I suppose. A great job and a simple yet fun game!
Was not able to get the game running well enough to rate. Played the web version, was a bit laggy, downloaded the windows version to see if it was a web issue. 1024x728 w/Good graphics (default) still laggy in full and windowed mode. Thinking this might be an issue on my side, but unsure.
Very fun to play. A bit of interactive adventure and a lot of comedy. I very much enjoyed the end. XD Excellent work!
Seems very much inspired by Thomas Was Alone and does the game justice by being easy to play and mechanically sound. Graphics are simple, but that's not a bad thing. Excellent work!
A cute game, but I did get lost when I started. Once I knew where everything was I was able to putter about laying waste to my enemies for profit! Though there is no way to die I see as I lost 200% of my health and was okay. Ah, the life of a space pirate.
A great compo entry. The music was repetitive, but not annoying and the gameplay was simple to pick up and slightly addictive. With a graphics patch to make it more spacey it would make a cute mini-game! Great job!
A good starting concept. I like the graphics you've got put together here. Of course, the game jam isn't the only time you can work on this and if nothing else the assets can easily be used in another project.
A cute game. Runs a bit laggy on my browser, but that could be on my end. You might want to add a bit of description to the page to explain to people how the girl and the aliens are connected.
An excellent game for a first go! Great level designs that worked well with the mechanics. The sounds were simple (and did get repetitive) but they worked for make the game more interactive. I found myself pushing through all three levels to get to the end which is a great compliment for any LD entry as there are so many to play. One extra mechanic could be to kill the player if they switch into a wall, but the corridors would need to be widened as I often found myself in a wall. Great job!
A nice entry! Very literally: Connected worlds! The concept is good, the interface and controls are super easy and intuitive. The game is also hard as I can barely keep even one planet alive. (Good thing) Nice work!
Interesting idea. Very simple interface and I like how the worlds move about. Couldn't figure out how to get the links in place or if anything I was doing was having an affect on the game. You may want to add instructions to the description to help players know what buttons to use and such.
A good start to a lot of great games. Without any time limits, scores, or ways to quantify what you're doing it's very much like the classic Atari 2600 games: play until you stop. Still, a great job on what's included!
Great concept and a fun experience. The random items in the crates gave a bit of trouble if I got the same ones over and over, but thems the breaks. The writing and player interaction had a lot of personality to it you don't often see. Excellent work!
An extremely fun game. Took me back to Amok with the mouse aiming and keyboard controls. Would make an excellent speed-runner if levels and timers were involved in some way.
Love the use of light and dark as the focus of gameplay. Excellent work!
A fun tower defense starter. The controls felt a bit "rubbery" as it seemed to take the controls a second to respond. The traps and upgrades are a nice touch. They felt a bit too powerful until the Elves showed up. Great work!
Great music, nice images, and a wonderful atmosphere. Going in you don't expect much more than a standard "choose your own adventure" style game, but the great ending really sums it up. I was both surprised and laughing at the entire thing. Excellent work and a lot of fun!
Insanely fun! My fingers are tired from clicking so much destruction! Excellent game! Nearly five stars (dropped some from humor as it's fun, but not funny). This is great work!
A fun game. Only had myself to play it so I didn't get the multiplayer experience. Short and to the point. I like the swarm mechanics, but I have to admit the idea of feces as a weapon did turn me off a bit on it.
A good little romp. I enjoyed the simple animations used for the skeletons and had fun "ghosting" around the crypts before talking to everyone. Missed a bit of the story as the chosen font is VERY hard for me to read when there's a lot going on. A good job!
Fun and simple. Matches the theme well. Enjoyed the near-retro 3D look whether intentional or not. Extra star for the sound effects because they're too cute to be bad. Great work!
Thank you!
Thanks! Glad I was able to make it a bit more personal.
Thanks all for the comments and feedback! For a much better game experience much like this check out the inspiration of it "80 Days" on Steam! (Great game with lots more story and time to read)
Uh oh! Itch.io link is currently going to a 404 page!
I played this game for minutes. Was also cursing a lot when I lost my hats (in a good way). Super smooth, cute graphics, sounds are perfect, was funny and fun. Excellent work!
Beautiful game. The lack of sounds was a bit jarring if only because the visuals scream "The sound will be awesome!", but it's nothing off the game itself. I get the game gets harder the more coins you collect, but I only lasted a few seconds each run anyway. Infinite runners usually have the hook of unlocking things if you get so far/so many coins. The lack of this hook makes the game feel unrewarding.
However, controls are great, graphics are splendid, frame rate is awesome, even a couple of simple sounds and this could easily be converted in an infinite runner that goes against the theme. ;)
The first time I ran into the boulder I laughed. The art is very cute and enjoyable. The music is a bit repetitive, but I try not to hold that against compo entries. I feel there's a way to get (what I assume to be) ending 1 and was attempting some Indiana-Jones esque swaperoo, but it didn't seem like that was the key. Very fun to play, regardless!
Everything about this made me happy. Even knocking into a wall and sending everyone back to the bottom. Had to play all the way to end even with multiple fails. (only left one guy in the end). Chopper sounds weren't annoying or repetitive, blue color scheme is calming and all the little guys' features were just right. The "story" was funny from the start and the tutorial fit perfectly. I really enjoyed the controllers on screen. They were distracting, but in an interesting way that made me not only watch the guys or the chopper. Overall a great experience!
Thanks for the feedback guys! I definitely did not have the time for code any kind of AI and the chess rules require a lot of if and when switches that I think would have overloaded the Pico-8 forced limitations (probably not, but there are a LOT of rules out there). I mostly use Pico-8 for prototyping and am excited to expand on it in the future as I'm learning to use Love2D and both are LUA based engines.
@Pixelome - Instructions are located by pressing right on the main title screen. Z to select and then move the marker and Z to put a piece down. X to cancel if you don't want to move a piece once selected. Also I played the game about seven times during testing and was able to win (using legit chess rules) only once as a human player, but it is possible if the other side is bad at it. (I was playing alone. XD)
@racso Actually I had a few ideas for alternate game modes if I ever implement movement rules in a non-Pico version. One of them would be a game of "actual" zombies which would just be two rows of pawns and any capture pieces convert into pawns and they use pawn movement styles. They would be the closest to classic zombies. However, I have found that in most games the zombie side can win using mostly an alternating series of pawns so maybe it'd be harder. XD Thanks for the feedback!
Interesting. Simple. From the screenshot it wasn't what I expected. Felt a little pressed for time with each move without any idea what to actually DO (in terms of actions taken not how to play), but in a sense that's basically what it would really be like. :) Well done.
Enjoyable graphics, the gameplay was nice. The raycast draw even when an enemy couldn't see you was a little odd, but not game breaking. The use of keycards was a great idea and overall very fun!
Overall a good game. Could use a reset button and a "you died" screen if someone wants to retry. Had some issues with zombie collision: They'd hit me then be on my other side, turn around, and hit me again. Made if hard to fend them off. Maybe slower zombies would help with the ability to kill them (behead?) with a couple shovel swings. Slower zombies means you can dig a bit while they approach then go on a rampage to clear the map a bit then go back. Graphics are cute even though they're simple. Wouldn't take much to clean them up. Couple of zombie sounds and maybe a swinging shovel sound and you're all set! Great entry and fun to play!
A funny little game to play. Had some issues with firing until I realized you had a charged shot. Graphics were very well done and the sound and music were good for a jam entry. Excellent job!
Agreed with above that there are some timing issues, but I really like this idea. (Saw your post on it and am glad I found it on the list.) This is like a cross between "Please don't touch anything" and "Keep talking and nobody explodes". This would make a hilarious double person game or even single person with some beefed up graphics (maybe weird stuff happening through the "window" in the back to cause distractions). Like a space version of being a tower operator at an airport. XD
Enjoyable. Not certain if the added boxes makes the truck more top heavy or not (or how it fits with the them in this case) I very much liked how you use the back of the truck for the HUD that was an excellent choice. I couldn't find the delivery area, but I kept rolling the truck so maybe I'm not cut out to be the trucker I always knew I could be. ;)
I actually liked this a lot. The intro menu and options screen were well designed and they worked as intended. When I started playing it was just about trying it out then I started to see if I could get lower speeds and more coins until oops.. fell in the water because I couldn't slow down. The music was very relaxing as well. Overall, even if it was just a test this is a really good little game.
Fun little game. I enjoyed the coin physics and finding little "tricks" to keep the coins on top. Like rushing to the next coin to let physics reset or jump and "throwing" the coins to myself. A good end screen with simple info (scored 4/10) which made me want to try again. Excellently done!
Really enjoyed this one. The graphics are great, the gameplay smooth and when I had 10 gold on my back the added animations and frustration with movement were both excellent. Loved the sound effects and the music was nice in the background and not annoying or repetitive. A great overall experience.
Game is great. Tiny, but great. Love the color choices and the smoothness. Excellent fun!
Felt a bit like a reverse version of Getting Over It. Rather going down than up. Didn't get far, but that was due to lack of skill rather than any mechanics issues. Well made.
