The graphics is cool but the music could be louder. Great concept, it resembles the good old pokémon games.

A good game with a mix of Dragon Warrior and 30 Second Hero smushed together. The reverse hero RPG style is a solid way to go for this type of theme. Good job!

Much nostalgia! Liked the reversal of the usual RPG hero!

Great game that was fun to play. Thought the whole concept was brilliantly designed. Enjoyed the retro-style fights between the monsters and retro-style advancement system.

Pretty interesting take on the traditional JRPG game. I like how instead of the hero slaying monsters to get to the boss, it's the other way around.

Felt like a really well-polished game. Nice art style and music. The fighting felt a little bit clunky, although I enjoyed the descriptions ("Mad crab is REALLY mad at you!")

Solid entry! Enemy comments were great, and combat was simple. Still, hard game! Hero got me in one shot!

Really enjoyed the JRPG feel this game embodies. The progression feels good here. It did get a little tough for me on day 3, but I should probably give it another go.
Solid game!

I really liked the concept, and it was pretty well executed. Some hero though, he bring rotten herbs and missing every shot he takes. The rocks were more of a threat than that guy.

Sweet, Earthbound font! Nicely inspired battle system too! ;)

Some nitpicks:
I feel like Heal should be stronger for its cost of a turn and 5 MP. As it is, it typically heals little more than the damage the monster can deal, so if you're almost dead and choose to heal, you've also given the monster another turn to hit you and put you back right where you were the previous round, thus perpetuating an unfruitful MP-draining cycle. It is almost always better to take the chance and go for the attack, and hope to RNGesus that it hits and that you level up after the battle for the free full heal.

Defend also doesn't seem to reduce damage taken at all. (bug?)

Because of these, I kind of neglected Defend and Heal, and ended up powering through the game purely on Fight and Tech instead (using each once per round would typically suffice for the harder enemies).

The game seems somewhat luck based, depending on how much the monsters actually attack, but the battle messages were pretty humorous. Love the quirkiness here, and the sprites are cool. Nice job!

Could have used some simple BGM, but otherwise was pretty fun to play. I got super excited when I saw the image for this game.

The Dragon Quest-style graphics and the enemy quotes are charming, but the combat is far too simplistic (all you really have to do is "attack" every turn) and the entire game is just grinding for the final encounter. Also, why would a final boss monster have to grind, anyway? Maybe if you were a lowly slime who wanted to be the final boss it would make sense, but shouldn't a boss already be powerful?

Man, this was awesome! First classic JRPG I see this round and it was really nicely done.

Combat could use some tweaks though (not allowing you to choose a move you don't have enough MP for, for instance).

I really enjoyed playing this entry, and although I died the first time at level 2, the second time I got so OP that destroyed the hero in no time. It felt good :)

Nice game! I never expected a RPG to show up in a Ludum Dare, and it is pretty solid, good work.
